it before, can operate the offense all that stuff. But

if Gabriel is your starter, he's getting every damn rep
because he doesn't have any experience. And now that Shador

That defense is nasty and Miles Garrett is a scary man.

to put together a game plan that he can execute
and when they'll go from there. And I think the
most interesting thing, though, is if you go back and
look through his college time, like he kind of ran
a system that he felt most comfortable running, right Like
Pat Sherman took over his offensive coordinator because the prior
offensive coordinator was doing things that he disagreed with. This

is the NFL. You know, if you start doing those things,
you know, it's not only going to look bad, but
it creates all sorts of chaos within, you know, the offense,
the organization. So it's gonna be really fascinating to see,
you know, if he's going to play within the confines
of what they're asking him to do, or if he's
going to try to go out there and do his

own thing. Because that was a little bit of what
you know happened when he was at Colorado. They moved
on from the one offensive cordator and elevated Pat Shermer,
and it was in large part to do what Shador
want to.

Wow, he got his opportunity, and it didn't start off
the way I'm I'm certain he would have wanted it to.

You can probably get through it, throw a glove on it,
depending what the injury is. I don't know the severity
of it or how bad it is. I'm not sure
if there's been an update on that report, but you
know you can. You can throw a glove on those
things and it helps a ton, Like I've dislocated fingers,
I had other issues where you throw a glove on it,
even if it's hurting, like, it improves your grip so

mightily as a quarterback that like, you can you can
get through. That's that's kind of what I'm saying, like,
that's not going to affect your throwing motion. It's just
gonna affect a snap from under center. And if they're
Aaron shotgun, then it doesn't matter quite as much.

He's as close as he's ever going to be to
removing himself from what took place in New York. I
don't think he's going to allow anything outside of his
leg falling off to not get through this season and
find a way for himself to play at as high

the team he owns, because he's got the Bears this
next week.

Steelers could win that game with Mason Rudolph. So I

would say they sit them a week. It's a non
conference game, and then you come back and you've got
the Bills and then you've got the Ravens afterwards like that.
That would be my guess if I were to guess
right now, because they're saying it's a slight break. They're
going to evaluate it later today. But my guess, will
do they say where in his hand it is?

Yeah, I mean I don't, but I don't know throwing
mechanics in terms of how he holds the ball with
his hands. What I don't know, Like in terms of
taking on a blocker. It just depends on how serious
the injury is. Right, You could put something like a
soft cast on it. You can you can tape your
your wrists, like get the whole thumb wrist tape where

they lock in your your your wrist, so it's like
limited in motion and movement. I mean there's a lot
of tape jobs. Then they have the rocket dips where
you can pull them on and it's got the I
don't know, like the straps and all that stuff for
your wrist as well. I mean a lot of guys
wear those. I mean, you can get through wrist injuries

for certain Like can you play through a wrist injury?
I mean I've seen guys play through broken wrists, broken wrists,
broken thumbs, like I've seen guys play through broken you know, limbs,
hand wise and risks. So but I don't know how
that works. Like if a quarterback had a club, right yeah,

I mean like that's going to alter the way that
you know. But that's that's like when guys like us
jack our ass up like that. We put like they
put a big pizza foam on it. You've seen it.
They put the big pizza foam on it. They put
like a little soccer or something in your hand. You
squeeze it, and then they wrap you up. Make sure
they check it before the game, make sure it ain't hard,
Like you ain't knocking somebody out with an iron club

and then you go get it in with one hand
with a club club.

I'm not obviously calling for that. I'm saying if it's
his non throwing hand or wrist in this case, the
biggest issue is going to be handoffs and then it
might limit to his ability to get under center, but
you can get through a game or two with that,
depending on how long it's going to take him to recover.
The question becomes can they stay balanced and operate the

offense in a manner that still allows them to be effective?
And if not, then that makes the choice easy. But
if they can, well you're either kind of looking at
it saying, all right, like, let's let's try to do
this thing.

Let's give it a try least, So do you think
there's something too Let's wait until we've got some conference
games that are going to maybe matter a little bit
more when it comes to seating and standings and conference
or division. Well I would say conference just in case,
but yeah, maybe they do look at it and say,

him ready for Baltimore, which is.

Like that was pretty good. But maybe somebody loses respect

out all kinds of crazy stuff like wiper fluid, and
so we were just were kind of joking about how like, well,
obviously that would be a terrible thing to drop from
the roof of Mercedes Benz Stadium, you know, like your
mind could wander to like, oh, the parachute didn't open,
someone got smashed in the face with wiper fluid. That

that's gonna be a decent lawsuit, right or whatever. But
those piles, man, like you can see a little bit
too when they do some replays like the grab it
and the pull on and the poking and the prodden
and all that going on. I just, man, I just
think to myself, LeVar was in there and he was
doing that. Yeah, I was he was administering some of that.

Yes, the screams, the humanity that you heard, and that
was me, And sometimes I got it done to me,
Like I've got my hands stepped on. I've never stepped

Because here's the thing. It might sound like like like

you gotta be like real real sneaky about it, Like
if you're trying to get a dude back for doing
something nasty to you instead of being like the second
guy in if for some strange reason, the game presents
you a pal up, it's your duty to take advantage

of that palaup. It's just it's your it's your it's
your giving right. And I say take it full advantage
of it, because that's where nobody like, oh he pinched
me who I don't know. Did you see it? Did
you see anything? Nobody saw anything. I'm just saying that
is your given right to take full advantage of that

By the way, isn't it. Pete Prisco's claim to fame
is that he's uh yeah.

He's not afraid either of like advertising it that he
like basically, I think I don't want to put words
in his mouth. But and then you guys have heard
him say it before. I'm pretty sure he tried to
crush a guy's testicle.

Yeah, so yeah he did. Now, what do you think
the punishment's going to be like for Jamar Chase Because
Jalen Carter, if you remember, he got I think he
got fined or he got he didn't get a game
suspension because he got kicked out of the game right
when they saw it. So they basically just counted that
as a game suspension and then you know, whatever the
fine was, I don't Jamar Chase didn't get kicked out

of the game from my understanding, and so if that's
the case, he's you're probably gonna lose Jamar Chase for
this next game, which is going to put you down,
you know, maybe the best receiver in football. And I
know people are thinking, man, when Joe Burrow gets it's
over for Cincinnati. It's over. They're not going to the playoffs.

The season is over. And I said it last week
and I'll say it again. The Jets and Bears losses
ended their run. It's done, and I know everyone say
we have it. You know they're not that far back.
They're done. The Cincinnati Bengals season is over and it's
going to be either Baltimore or Pittsburgh that wins that
division and they're going to be on the outside looking in.
And now you're probably gonna miss Jamar Chase for this

that division because Denver is starting to run away with
this thing. Offensively, stop game. I mean Offensively it's you know,

it's a process. But defensively they are fantastic and they
were good again yesterday.

I mean, they found the way to stay in front
of them. They they limited what what Patrick Mahomes does best,
which is extending the plays and fine guys kind of late,
you know, getting into those holes and getting into those
those those blind spots of a defense. I mean, you
just got to give this this Broncos coaching staff a

ton of credit because to me, when I watch this
team play, I see a lot of schematics that play
out in the right way and and that's why they're
able to have such the level of success that they're having,
especially on the defense side of the ball. Just seeing
the way that they they rush the passer, the way

they're covering, the covering schemes, it just it looks pretty good. Man.
And again I wanted to see if they could do
it against a team like the Chiefs. Now. I'm looking
for the teams that had the type of defenses that
can stand up to high powered offenses, and I'm seeing
if offenses are are as good as they need to
be or need to get better, which I kind of
(27:12):
look at that from the defense side, but I'm more
focused in on who has the better defenses and how
their offenses are playing, because I feel like that's the winning,
you know, formula for making it to a Super Bowl,
having a really really strong defense and an offense that
can put points on the board and can keep up
when neat they need to, but ultimately making sure that

they're not making mistakes that can cost them, you know,
when you know you're putting your defense out there on
the field. Broncos look really good if you ask me.

The Broncos did look really good.

I thought what was interesting about it is it felt
like Steve Spagnola was kind of putting this game on
boat next to his shoulders with the way they're trying to
stop the run, and they were able to do that,
but Nicks was able to deliver too. And I think
one of the things that always stands out to me
is just how good of a play caller Sean Payton is.
I mean, when they need plays like he knows how
to dial them up and you know, we obviously give

a lot of credit to Andy Reid, we know about
their success, but I'm not sure that Sean Payton gets
the respect he deserves or as much credit as being
up there with some of those other guys, because again,
it feels like when they need something, when they need
to find a way of getting a guy separated, that
they find it.

And I go back to just even.

You look at other quarterbacks he's had, Like, look at
the year that Russell Wilson had with him. Now, granted
that didn't work out between those two, and he was
frustrated with Russell Wilson, but when we've seen Russell since,
you kind of look back at that that year, you go, okay,
like maybe you can see why there is some frustration,
But more so than that, just how good he was
at helping Russell out to be the best that he

could be at that point time in his career. So
this Denver team's legit. I feel like we needed to
see this game in order to get there, and their
defense has been the most consistent piece. But as bo
Nicks and this offense continues to come along, they're a
dangerous team. And I know there's a lot of football
left to be played. But Jonas, if you could read

off the current playoff picture with the teams that we've
gotten the AFC right now that are sitting atop at
least good.

As it stands right now in the AFC, the Denver
Broncos will.

Be your one seed.

They would get the buye. You've got the Colts, or
you've got the Patriots at two, the Colts at three,
the Steelers, the Bills, the Chargers, and the Jaguars are
your wild card teams. So Kansas City would be on
the outside looking in.

And I'm actually curious.

In City, Baltimore. I mean, just teams that we thought
coming into the season. I mean I think I had

still believe in this Kansasity team. I still believe they'll
be in when it's all said and done. I'm not
a believer in the Chargers that whole what.

Does disaster that was this week? Yeah, Chris Jacksonville. That
was awful, Yeah, just awful it was.

And I know I know they're banged out, but like,
you can't do what you did last week and then

I digress. I'm still believing the Chiefs. This game was
to me more about proving how good the Broncos are,

What would you say? The Chiefs are the Chiefs odds
are to make the playoffs. Sitting at five and five

so you've got I mean the Texans who have somehow

win percentage.

I mean, so I think they beat the Raiders Titans
Texans when they play them in a few weeks. That's

they got a tough one versus the Colts coming up

you know, the Colts is kind of a toss up.
The Chargers they obviously had a difficult time, you know,
against earlier this year, so who knows. I mean, the
way they're playing now, I think they're a different team.

eleven that I think, but their schedule definitely does soften

you know, we were having the discussion earlier in the
year that you know, the teams that go zero and
two to start off the year and how they're like,

City did start off owing two, and like your margin

for air is so small the later the season gets
that if you lose a couple of more close games
like they lost yesterday and and some other matchup like
the Jaguars game, which they shouldn't have lost and lost
on the road. Now you're looking at it at a
team that's got to like they've got to go on
a run later in the year, which don't I don't
know that they've ever really had to do that just

to squeak out a wild card spot. Like they went
on the road in the playoffs a couple of years
ago and went to the Super Bowl and won it.
But we haven't seen them in this spot before to
where they've got to go on a heater down the
stretch in order to really have a shot in the postseason.
But I just want to see and live in a
world where the three wild card teams in the AFC

are Baltimore, Kansas City, and Buffalo and then just see
the teams hosting games have to deal with that, Like
I want to see those teams as wild card teams.
But yeah, it's the AFC playoff picture is going to

offensive coordinator was doing things that he disagreed with. This

is the NFL. You know, if you start doing those things,
you know, it's not only going to look bad, but
it creates all sorts of chaos within, you know, the offense,
the organization. So it's gonna be really fascinating to see,
you know, if he's going to play within the confines
of what they're asking him to do, or if he's
going to try to go out there and do his

own thing. Because that was a little bit of what
you know happened when he was at Colorado. They moved
on from the one offensive cordator and elevated Pat Shermer,
and it was in large part to do what Shador

I do wonder if maybe their approach with this is, look,

keep on winning games, and all of a sudden, the
Monster of the AFC West that was the Kansas City
Chiefs appear like their days may be numbered raining in
that division because Denver is starting to run away with
this thing. Offensively, stop game. I mean Offensively it's you know,

it's a process. But defensively they are fantastic and they
were good again yesterday.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I mean, they found the way to stay in front
of them. They they limited what what Patrick Mahomes does best,
which is extending the plays and fine guys kind of late,
you know, getting into those holes and getting into those
those those blind spots of a defense. I mean, you
just got to give this this Broncos coaching staff a
(26:29):
ton of credit because to me, when I watch this
team play, I see a lot of schematics that play
out in the right way and and that's why they're
able to have such the level of success that they're having,
especially on the defense side of the ball. Just seeing
the way that they they rush the passer, the way
(26:50):
they're covering, the covering schemes, it just it looks pretty good. Man.
And again I wanted to see if they could do
it against a team like the Chiefs. Now. I'm looking
for the teams that had the type of defenses that
can stand up to high powered offenses, and I'm seeing
if offenses are are as good as they need to
be or need to get better, which I kind of
(27:12):
look at that from the defense side, but I'm more
focused in on who has the better defenses and how
their offenses are playing, because I feel like that's the winning,
you know, formula for making it to a Super Bowl,
having a really really strong defense and an offense that
can put points on the board and can keep up
when neat they need to, but ultimately making sure that
(27:34):
they're not making mistakes that can cost them, you know,
when you know you're putting your defense out there on
the field. Broncos look really good if you ask me.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
The Broncos did look really good.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
I thought what was interesting about it is it felt
like Steve Spagnola was kind of putting this game on
boat next to his shoulders with the way they're trying to
stop the run, and they were able to do that,
but Nicks was able to deliver too. And I think
one of the things that always stands out to me
is just how good of a play caller Sean Payton is.
I mean, when they need plays like he knows how
to dial them up and you know, we obviously give
(28:07):
a lot of credit to Andy Reid, we know about
their success, but I'm not sure that Sean Payton gets
the respect he deserves or as much credit as being
up there with some of those other guys, because again,
it feels like when they need something, when they need
to find a way of getting a guy separated, that
they find it.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
And I go back to just even.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
You look at other quarterbacks he's had, Like, look at
the year that Russell Wilson had with him. Now, granted
that didn't work out between those two, and he was
frustrated with Russell Wilson, but when we've seen Russell since,
you kind of look back at that that year, you go, okay,
like maybe you can see why there is some frustration,
But more so than that, just how good he was
at helping Russell out to be the best that he
(28:48):
could be at that point time in his career. So
this Denver team's legit. I feel like we needed to
see this game in order to get there, and their
defense has been the most consistent piece. But as bo
Nicks and this offense continues to come along, they're a
dangerous team. And I know there's a lot of football
left to be played. But Jonas, if you could read
(29:10):
off the current playoff picture with the teams that we've
gotten the AFC right now that are sitting atop at
least good.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
As it stands right now in the AFC, the Denver
Broncos will.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Be your one seed.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
They would get the buye. You've got the Colts, or
you've got the Patriots at two, the Colts at three,
the Steelers, the Bills, the Chargers, and the Jaguars are
your wild card teams. So Kansas City would be on
the outside looking in.

It's kind of crazy to think about, man.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
And I'm actually curious.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
In City, Baltimore. I mean, just teams that we thought
coming into the season. I mean I think I had
Kansas City taken on Green Bay. And you know, I
still believe in this Kansasity team. I still believe they'll
be in when it's all said and done. I'm not
a believer in the Chargers that whole what.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
Does disaster that was this week? Yeah, Chris Jacksonville. That
was awful, Yeah, just awful it was.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
And I know I know they're banged out, but like,
you can't do what you did last week and then
show up like that this week in Jacksonville, that team
who's struggled to rush the passer and everything else. But
I digress. I'm still believing the Chiefs. This game was
to me more about proving how good the Broncos are,
and they're pretty damn good. I think that's pretty obvious.

Now, what would you say if you had to guess,
because on DraftKings there's a to make the playoffs prop bet?
What would you say? The Chiefs are the Chiefs odds
are to make the playoffs. Sitting at five and five
right now and on the outside looking in.

So minus two hundred, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Oh wow, not bad. Minus one eighty five for Kansas City,
so you've got I mean the Texans who have somehow
found them found themselves still in contention. The Texans, they
actually have the tiebreaker over Kansas City based so far
on best win percentage in the conference. Kansas City would

have the tiebreaker over Baltimore based on head to head
win percentage.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
So let me let me ask you this.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
I mean, so I think they beat the Raiders Titans
Texans when they play them in a few weeks. That's
three wins is ten the number, you think, probably because
they got a tough one versus the Colts coming up
next week that's at home at least. Then they go

to Dallas, which I think they beat Dallas. Yeah, but
you know, the Colts is kind of a toss up.
The Chargers they obviously had a difficult time, you know,
against earlier this year, so who knows. I mean, the
way they're playing now, I think they're a different team.
So maybe this will be easy to get to ten
eleven that I think, but their schedule definitely does soften

up now.

And it also after. It also illustrates the point that
you know, we were having the discussion earlier in the
year that you know, the teams that go zero and
two to start off the year and how they're like,
what a you know, it's a long climb back, et cetera,
et cetera. And this is one of those reasons, like
this is why it makes it so difficult, because Kansas
City did start off owing two, and like your margin
(32:11):
for air is so small the later the season gets
that if you lose a couple of more close games
like they lost yesterday and and some other matchup like
the Jaguars game, which they shouldn't have lost and lost
on the road. Now you're looking at it at a
team that's got to like they've got to go on
a run later in the year, which don't I don't
know that they've ever really had to do that just
(32:35):
to squeak out a wild card spot. Like they went
on the road in the playoffs a couple of years
ago and went to the Super Bowl and won it.
But we haven't seen them in this spot before to
where they've got to go on a heater down the
stretch in order to really have a shot in the postseason.
But I just want to see and live in a
world where the three wild card teams in the AFC

are Baltimore, Kansas City, and Buffalo and then just see
the teams hosting games have to deal with that, Like
I want to see those teams as wild card teams.
But yeah, it's the AFC playoff picture is going to
be bananas down the stretch, like there's a there's a
lot going on there.

come down to what defense, What defense is going to
travel into the playoffs. That's first first team that comes
to mind to me is the Philadelphia Eagles, and is
their offense going to help them or are they going

figure out that defense well enough to put enough points
on where you'd ask yourself how many points is enough
