So obviously, the fallout from the Super Bowl, what is
that we discussed the collateral damage. If you are interested
in finding out more on that, you can check out
the podcast following the show. It'll go live after we

(01:24):
are off the air. Also, the other aspect of this,
the championship parade is set for Friday, which is Valentine's Day.
So I got a feeling, you know, some relationships might
have to need a little bit of repairment afterwards, and
most of those plans are going to get moved to
Saturday because people are going to get banged all the

(01:46):
way up at that championship parade. And Nick Sirianni sounds
like he's still hungover by the way. Really yeah, never
met the guy?

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Sound? I mean, can we prove that with any sound?

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Here was Nick Sirianni talking about the struggles last year
and how impacted this year.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
As crazy as this sounds, I'm grateful how last year
ended because it's shaped us to who we are today
and where we're standing today. In the adversity at the
beginning of the year, and shoot the adversity through the season,
through the through injuries, through ups and downs, through everything.
I think that when you embrace adversity, it does something

(02:24):
to you, right, it does something to you. Personally right,
each and every individual on that football team. You know,
the adversity does something too, and it does something to
you as a football team as well. So our guys
I think that that could be the biggest attribute they
worked their butts off to connect.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah. I respect what he had to say, but he
does sound hungover and to.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Maybe he should always sound that way. I mean, I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
I feel like sometimes the way he sounds like it
gives people a little ammunition to say stuff. Were that
he just sounded like almost like a normal coach.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah, no, relatable. That sounded very relatable, but very relatable.
Like I mean, we were there Friday. That's exactly how
we sound sounded Friday last week exactly. I thought. We
kept it together.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
We did. I mean, no one threw up, although you know,
my first segment was wrough.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
That whole show was wrough.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Thank god, LeVar.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
You started like you were like, oh you kind of
went on this tangent like oh man, I'm you guys
gotta do it today and this and that. I took
my headphones off because I thought I was gonna have
to get up and throw off, and I kept thinking,
you got to hold this together. Because if you do,
you'll never live it down with lead a lap because
that is something that Lee would Now.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
You know what, that's a very very good you had
a lot well talk about collateral damage. Can you imagine
if you had did that?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Oh you, you would have never let me live it,
and then you would have started. You would have had
to grab a trash can and started yourself.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
But I don't have any shame in that though. That's
the thing, like if I had thrown up, I'm gonna
embrace it. You, on the other hand, you have destroyed
Lee de lapped for months now on what he'd be
doing with that. And by the way, I mean, he
did not disappoint. I mean, it's not like you couldn't
have been like but Lee, I didn't freaking run off

(04:22):
of a curb and run into the ground as if
that was the street that the street address was ground.
So at the end of the day, Lee split his
wig and got got a part. He got a natural
part in his hair. Lee with no barber, no barber
shop needed. He put a part up in there and
got the root off, the red nose rein there nose.
I mean, I mean, so you could have fired back,

(04:46):
but With that being said, I probably would have sided
with Lee, and I would have been key keying on
you with Lee in a tandem Yeah, and a tandem effort.
Do you want to know where Lee really failed everybody
on front.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
So whenever there's like an issue that pops up and
we talk about it, like everybody discussing it with Lee,
tries to provide him with support, tries to provide him
with advice, like, hey, what to do in this situation,
past experiences. Not one time on Friday did he pull
anybody aside and say, hey, I've been there like every

(05:21):
day this week, here's what you do to get through
the show.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Nothing.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
He just sat there like the fat kid on stand
by Me watching everybody throw the eating contest, just looking
around going oh.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, look at it. Look at him, buddy, look at it, buddy.
How you feel, buddy?

Speaker 7 (05:40):
I was ready with a little hair of the dog
at the bar after the show if you guys wanted
to join and feel a little better.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
But I.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Don't want Levar's comments to misconstrue my intent with Lee.
And I told him this, you know, I lovely, I'm
just trying to help save his life. That's just I
feel like true, there's there's sometimes when I'm like, man,
if he would have fallen a certain type of way.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Who knows if he's getting back that bro the dude
was about to get ran over, abliterate that. That is
the most disturbing aspect of Lee is that he doesn't
even know. He doesn't even know. I looked at this
man and I watched him, and in his mind I

(06:27):
went through the calculation with him, and Lee's mind said,
I can make it across the street before the car
gets there. I clear as they diagnosed it. Tell on on, God,
on God, I could have.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
I didn't want to lure you into the street. I
was leading ducklings.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
On God, he.

Speaker 7 (06:50):
Might follow me across, and I don't want to meet
the street to get hit with you.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
I got no duckling. I'm the big duck that told
your ass to stay out of the street, the duckling.
But the truth of the matter is is Lee, you
thought you were going to make it a cross. I
would have if I wanted to Brady. I didn't, but
I wasn't going to Brady Quinn, you see what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Yeah, but I've already set your point.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I'm proving your point.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
I've already said this too.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Lee lives his life like every day's a trustful and
he just finds himself, crosses his arms, closes his eyes,
and he just falls backwards and hopes some's gonna catch them.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
And most and most times there's no one there. He does.
It's the ground that does. Sometimes.

Speaker 8 (07:32):
Apparently he's like, oh man, I looked at Jonas, like, Jonas,
this mother lover was about to go out there. Do
you understand that these cars are not going to slow
down and stop at at three four in the morning.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
They're not.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
The description for people out there is were walking to
the convention center. Most of the roads are blocked off
except for this one road down Convention Center Boulevard. And
at that time, and by the way, what would you
say they were They were driving out like twenty five
thirty five miles and twenty.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Five thirty, Yeah, twenty five thirty And it literally you
could see the license plate on the car. That's how
close it was to us when Lee was making the
decision that he can make it across the street.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
First of all, I think your death perception was a
little off because we were all out pretty late that night,
and I.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Couldn't be calling it yo. I could have threaded it
if I wanted to.

Speaker 7 (08:27):
The thing that I cause you that you're worried about
is I kind of looked over my shoulder and I
did a little bit of a step to the left
while I did and still.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Keep All I know is my assessment was he's about
to go like, does he not know that these cars
are not like the likelihood of that person being intoxicated
behind that wheel is driving this car. He's going to
get hit.

Speaker 9 (08:50):
A problem.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
We have a problem, abort aboart. So I panic. I
legitimately panicked, like like, what are you doing? You got
the nerve, the nerve of you to get upset with me,
the nerve of this guy to be upset with me.

(09:12):
The only reason why I kept talking about it is
that I irritated you for saving your life. I potentially saved
your life. I was like, Jonas, it is a great point.
Do you understand we were seconds away from watching Lee
get rolled the hell up on this street in front
of the convention Center.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Oddly defensive Friday about this, Yeah, I have no idea why.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Because he was about because he knew he thought in
his mind he could get across that street. He knew
he was going to make it across.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
I'm not I'm not gonna speak for Lee.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
I'm just gonna say as an observer, Lee, I have
not heard you be that defensive on the mic about
many things. You were very defensive about this entire situation.
From a defensive.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
I could have if I wanted to.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
I can see that you thought you could see me
doing the math, but I you were. I wasn't going
to do it because I was worried about you, buddy,
and I could have made that if I want to.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Make it about me. Damn.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
So he just called you in one segment duckling yep,
little buds in your depth perception, little buddy and called
you buddy, little buddy.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
I mean, I wouldn't listen. I will never save him
ever again. But hey, hey Jonas, we just gonna let
his ass get hit next time. That's all. That's all.
I'm not going to say a word to prove the point.
I hope you live so that I can walk over
top of your body after that car stops and the

(10:40):
person's jumping out like, oh my god, I didn't even
see you. I want to stand over top of you
and be like, see, I told you.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
What do you mean He'll be like Friday? You know, Yeah,
you gotta be if you got the Yeah. Literally, I
told you he's gonna put you.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I'm not even is he okay, I'm just gonna be
like I told you.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Lee's gonna be sleep. By the way, speaking of sleep.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I've got a really busy life and sleep is essential
to that.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Trust me, get down.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
I'm never getting enough. I'm always trying to get more.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
But I trust Mattress Firm to find my perfect bed
from a selection of quality mattresses at every price. Get
matched at Mattress Firm's President Day sale and sleep at
Night restrictions supply. See Mattress Firm dot com or store
for details.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah, that's right there. Hey, I wonder if they would
have had a Mattress Firm at that that bit that
Lee would have been laying in after he got spanked
a bat. That car that was coming, that wasn't just
a car that was like it was rock. It wasn't
a big truck. Was that like a utility vehicle? No?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Like Lee, were you still drinking to the point where
like you may have bounced off and been fluid enough
to actually like just bouncing well, okay.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yeah, that's the whole reason he would have absorbed.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
Oh, that's the whole reason you drink.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
You gotta keep loose, you know, crazy. I mean, that's
I guess, I like guys. I guess it makes sense.
Lee drinks purely so that if it gets hit by
an object, he can be loose enough to bounce up
and still survive.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
It all makes sense.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
So why do you drink something protect myself that the
average person would not have handled.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
I was telling you this on the phone yesterday. Don't
as the average man would not have handled falling off
the curb the way Lee did.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
You just have to make sure it's not a liver shot,
because between the booze and that direct shot to his liver,
it would be night night. You'd be you'd be laying
on a mattress for a mattress for the rest of
eternity if they happen to hit you in the liver
with the combination of the alcohol and that vicious blow.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I mean, that is very true. You see Evan Williams
come out of his nose.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Sang, hey, put a cup under there. I swear no
waste that I don't know what day it was. Maybe
it was the day you fell. That next morning you
smelled like Evan Williams was being secreted from your body.
It was it was like the war. I was like,
good heavens man, like, I'm not here to shame you

(13:13):
for it. I'm just trying to make you away, like
you gotta shower or something next time, and just bathe
yourself in some sort of.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Shame.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Did you Sourly? Lee was like, yes, I showered, walked
past you did shower? He goes, wait did I shower?
I don't think I showered?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
By the way, Lee, What was that that drink she
talked you into at the restaurant slash bar tank the airport?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
What she talked?

Speaker 8 (13:48):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (13:49):
Yeah, that was an aviation which was New Orleans. Uh
type drink. Of course, got to what do you call
those cups? The really any ten cups? Almost like a
Martini bulls jackass, almost like a Martini glass, but it's
very fancy, more round, smaller.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Okay, all right, it was very nice.

Speaker 7 (14:10):
It was very good, very upscale, upscale, Piggy's up kind
of drink.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
For some reason, interesting, for some reason, she knew that
that guy, I'll have one.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
By the way, most of those like New Orleans made
up drinks. It's like, oh, ever Clear, and it's like, oh, okay,
that's what we're doing here. That that's our that's our
base or our foundation to drink. It's ever Clear, an
alcohol that will make you forget you even are alive
right now.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
By the way, I know Prisco's coming up, do we
Do you think he caught on to the fact that
everybody was a little bit uh banged it out. Yeah
you think he? I mean, I know, I know I
was very subdued. I know that I was very because
I was really really fighting to get through.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
It's a coop glass with gin lemon juice.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Uh, some kind of liqueur. And why are you saying
it like that? Liquor? Some tape of it in a liqueue.
Liqueur is very bright purple. What Okay, it's pretty nasty.
I'm not I'm not drinking things with wild looking colors, man,
I'm just not.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
And is that anyone else yet? Like football is over,
I mean, we have the UFL coming up.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
But yeah, I mean, yeah, it's kind of depressing, but
this is when the real work starts.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
We got a combine coming up. We got there afterwards
under Olympics.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Are we doing the draft this year? Are we broadcasting live?
I never mind, let's do it. I never look bar
I said it, go up. I'd love to go up.
I mean, I'll go, but I'm just saying you have
yet to go on a trip that's not on us now.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
I will say this.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
If we go, I will be golfing at that time
of year, especially hopefully up there. Really there's some Oh
there's some great courses up there, Coler you know, like
the sing some of that, the Coler family. They got
a bomb hotel right next to the stadium, r next
to lambeau.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Field, a dout.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
But we stay there hook it up? Well, you better,
it's party already booked up. I can't imagine where there
would be that.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Fortunately, you're Brady Quinny.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
You were just on with Steve Saban was shows on
state wide there in Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Oh yeah, what does that mean? I'm just hit the affiliate.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Up like an Airbnb or vrbo.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Let's do it although too. Yeah that's true, Doug, Doug
could hook it up. I'd rather actually stay and wherever.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Doug could hook us up.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yeah, I mean I agree, Hey, Doug.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
I know you listen to the show. Hook us up.
You got to hook us up if we're coming off.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
For the draft, all right, I don't know if it's
a dorm or student housing. Just find some way of
hooking us up with a nice spot. It's all mass.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Hey, whoever clips our takes and gives it to Doug
to react to. Just clip this this take right here,
give it the Doug and let him react to it,
and we will.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Hell, I'll even help coach, you know whatever. I'll help
coach for me.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
You know what, me too, I'll work with the low
post guys. There you go.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
I'm just I'm working on the threes, that's all.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I'm gonna work on the four and the five. So
there you go. You got the threes, You got the
four and the fives. I got the four and the fives.
Jonas could get the water. Lee can be over there
getting drunk, and Lorana could chair and Doug can coach
the ones in the Lee.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
You can be like that drunk dad old team.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yeah yeah yeah, was that Jimmy Chipwood's dad, Yeah yeah, yeah.
My game looks like Jimmy Chitwood.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
That's all I get.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Was Chipwood the Star was he the star player? I
don't know, Uh he was.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
I don't know he hit that one shot off the
pick of fence. I know that I haven't watched that
movie in a while, A long while.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Yeah, well I do know this.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Here on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe on
Fox Sports Radio, we are going to catch up with
an old friend. It is a Tuesday, and even though
there's no football, there's still a Pete Prisco, and he's
yours here at FSR.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming
up in about twenty minutes from now, we are going
to close up shop with another edition of Lee's Leftovers.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
That'll be yours here on this Tuesday morning.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
But it is a Tuesday, which means it's smooth operator time.
He's the one and only Pete Prisco, CBS Sports Senior
NFL Columnist, CBS Sports HQ analyst. You can get him
on x at Prisco CBS. It was great seeing you
in New Orleans, Pete on Friday, and we're happy to

(18:56):
have you back.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Good morning.

Speaker 9 (18:58):
What's up, guys? Are you thank you back? Okay?

Speaker 5 (19:00):
Hey Pete? We did, Hey Pete, quick question for you.
When we saw you, did we appear as banged up
to you as we fell?

Speaker 9 (19:11):
Well?

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (19:12):
Actually really you did. Yeah, particularly LeVar, he was like
half sleep in a couple of different times.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
I thought I could hide it.

Speaker 9 (19:19):
Damn it, no need, none of you hit it. Brady
smelled like booze and fall asleep.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
I showered too, thank you for.

Speaker 9 (19:30):
Jes were too far away for me to actually get
a good read on him. But I'll be honest with you,
the three of you, he looked the most refreshed.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Oh man, you didn't drink as much as we did,
and uh, you know it was uh it was a
miller like consumption.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
So well, he's got to fear the ship. You two
just like chime in every now and then, So it's
a little.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
More probable, am I now and then? As every now
and then? So I was perfect, LeVar.

Speaker 9 (19:59):
I can tell you that on Friday year.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Now and then one very now and then yeah, it
was like not at all, huh.

Speaker 9 (20:06):
I think I had LB a couple of times a wake.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Up and listen, I gave them my heads up that
I was going to need assistance that that.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Just know that, Pete, Pete, What was the let me
ask you, other than the result, which I don't think
a lot of people expected. What was the most surprising
aspect from the game for you on Sunday.

Speaker 9 (20:27):
Happy feet Mahomes. I mean he would say.

Speaker 5 (20:31):
It, You're gonna say it.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
Hey, look, he was sped up, he saw ghosts, he
left clean pockets, and he just didn't look like the
same guy at all. And I know his line isn't great,
but there were times you go back and watch that
where he didn't even need to leave and he left,
you know, is it just everything about it was His
feet were bad. Mechanics were bad. Now, don't get me wrong,

(20:55):
He's never been wonderful when it comes to the mechanics
of playing the position. But I don't think I've ever
seen him like that. That was worse than Jampa. That's
how bad that was. And and you know, the Eagles
rushed for the entire game didn't blitz them once and
they had no answer for it. So that to me
was the that was the biggest surprise of the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah, it's interesting you bring up the Tampa game because
that was another one that was a blowout, and we
knew the offensive line is she's going into it. He
was banged up going into it, and so the pressure
that they were able to get it was expected. Now,
we thought there were some mismatches, but even with the
offensive line the way they've kind of played musical chairs,
there were lines actually played al right this season. And

(21:36):
it was odd to me watching him because yes, they
got some pressure on him, but again I thought I
thought he held onto.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
The football more than he had the entire season.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
They wanted the fastest get the ball out of his
hand for whatever reason. I mean, they didn't throw him
any screens, like what do you think of Andy Reid
and just a game planning of the offensive staff.

Speaker 9 (21:57):
It wasn't very good either. They didn't run the ball.
I mean, you know, you got at least attempt to
run the ball to the backs, and you're right, they
didn't use the screen game at all. I thought they'd
get worthy on some you know, quick stuff and they
didn't do that. And look, I haven't watched the twenty
two tape. We were, you know, high above, and you
could see there were a lot of times when guys
weren't open. I mean, you know, Kelsey is a clunker.

(22:18):
I mean, he can't run, Hopkins can't run. But I
thought that for the most part, the Eagles did a
good job in coverage, but when there were opportunities, he
didn't pull the trigger. He was hesitant. But to go
back to your question, Brady, I didn't think the game
plan was very good, which is surprising considering, you know,
Andy reidsan so good at it in the course of

(22:38):
his career, particularly with the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Pete when out my takeaway from the game, and you know,
we debated it a little bit yesterday, but I just
felt as though Spaggs was committed to stopping the run
and if we were going to lose the game, we're
going to lose with Jalen Hurts throwing the ball and
it not being the running game. And they went all
the way into the end of the game that they

(23:03):
were not going to allow Sakuon Barkley to have any
explosive plays. Do you feel like they played it the
right way and how they went about trying to you know,
game plan and defense. You know that that Eagles offense.

Speaker 9 (23:18):
Absolutely and when we talked about that last week on Friday,
I said that he's going to do something or anything
he can to take away Barkley. And they took away Barkley.
The problem is it got away from them. I mean,
you know, with the offense doing nothing and you had
to pick six and then all of a sudden your
defense starts bleeding a little bit. It got away from them.
So I thought the plan was good. You know, the

(23:40):
defense wasn't horrible, and Hurts played well, Don't get me wrong,
he did some really good things. But the plan was good.
If you went into that game and you said you're
going to keep Barkley under three yard to carry, you
would have done cartwheels. And so the plan on the
defensive side was actually pretty good. You know, Hurts made
a couple of throws, but the offense was the problem
that you get you get one first down in the

(24:01):
first half, you're asked and you give up a pick six.
I mean that you and the point playing you know,
interception right there at the ten yard line. You're asking
for it. So I think the defense did a nice job.
I don't. I don't think they were the issue. I
think the issue was the offense.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
So you fall on Brady's side. That's interesting, you guys
think of like I think most people. You know what,
I thought their defense. I thought their their defense was
an issue just as bad, just as much as their offense. Well,
I think it's interesting that they get a pass on
this because I didn't think that they were that good
at all. I thought that there should have been adjustments

(24:36):
once you realize that you couldn't cover a man the man,
you couldn't cover man the man. I would actually been
I would have been willing to figure out if if
we can stop Saquon with more pass coverage.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
And they held them at three of twelve on third down.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah, I get that, but but you gave up big
plays in the passing game, big plays.

Speaker 9 (24:57):
But one of those big plays was when it was
twenty seven to and you know the way.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I don't care what the score was. Mahomes ended up
with more passing yards.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Doesn't matter his his passing yards. His yards were more
Jalen Hurts, his yards were more impactful on the game.
Then then Patrick Mahomes's I could care less if he
had a better stat line than Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts
was more than.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
A better stat line. But you're making the claim that
there was these you know, defense.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
The defense gave up explosive.

Speaker 9 (25:26):
Plays, long touchdown pass Devonte Smith came when it was
twenty seven nothing when when granted was a great.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
Well what about well use the dots in big play,
don't use don't use the late one, used the use
the early one. What was going on with their defense? Then?

Speaker 9 (25:40):
Yeah, he got that was it was explosive play? Yeah,
well they didn't have a fact like.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
These cats was like lights out. Defense against them was in.

Speaker 9 (25:50):
By cooking explosive play too, and that you know.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
That was a turnover. That im that was a turnover.
I mean that had nothing to do with their offense.
That had everything to.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Do with let's move on, bar We we got more questions.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I mean, okay, I mean gez your ad, so I'm
standing on it. How about that pure defense was all right?
Could have did better? Pete, speaking of could have done better?

Speaker 4 (26:16):
What could New Orleans have done better to put on
a better I guess representation for the Super Bowl. Were
you happy with with everything or do you feel like,
following your experiences there, maybe they could have done a
little bit more or improved in some other areas.

Speaker 9 (26:32):
I think it's a great place for Super Bowl. Everybody
can walk everywhere. It's easy. I mean, you know, that's
the easiest thing about it. Look, they one thing they did.
They renovated the stadium. They put a lot of money
in the stadium. They didn't renovate the press box. I
could tell you that it's like squeezing in is way
high up. And you know, again, nobody cares about us.

(26:53):
But I'm just saying that. I thought, for the most part,
it was a good week. You know. I like it
when it's all right there. And so next year, where
do you got to go San Francisco. It's not right there.
The stadium's what fifty minutes away, and you know, you
got to spread out all over the place. And then la,
it's all spread out all over the place in two years.

(27:14):
I like when it's all right walkable. And that's why
to me, New Orleans, Vegas, Indianapolis, even though it's cold,
those cities do a great job because everything is walkable.
And so when you look at the cities where you've
got to get in cars and get in buses and
do all that stuff. That's no fun.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
We wants to do that, So I likeally excited for
next year.

Speaker 9 (27:37):
What'd you say?

Speaker 5 (27:38):
Sounds like you're really excited for next year?

Speaker 9 (27:40):
Then, well, I can tell you last time we were in
San Francisco was it was awful? I mean, you know,
walking around the city and everything else is just it's
not it's spread out and you know you got to
get in the bus and go to the game. I
don't know, it's just that one's not a That one's
not I can't figure out why they're going back there,
to be honest with.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
You, Yeah, it doesn't make much sense.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I do want to ask you, Pete, because I assume
you had an opportunity to watch the halftime show, and
I'm just kind of curious to get a outside the
box question to you about that.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
What were your thoughts on it? Did you enjoy it?
Were you up in the press box for it? Did
you get down? I know you're down on the field
after the game.

Speaker 9 (28:17):
No, I was in the press box, And look, do
I know Kendrick Lamar's music, some of it maybe, But
did I enjoy the show? It was okay, it's not
going to rattle my cage. Look, I've many a time
as I've gone up and sat in the back, and
we'll even watched the halftime show. I mean the Rolling

(28:38):
Stones when they played the halftime show, they were broken down,
old man, and it was terrible. I mean, you know,
there's been good ones, but the one that always stands
out to me is when you two was in the
Superdome after nine to eleven. That one was the Remember
they put the names of all the victims in the back.
That that was an unreal performance. But to answer your
question about Kendrick Lamar, I think it's kind of funny

(29:00):
the dishes within it. I mean, I think he got
creative with that. But you know, because I'm always I'm
always up for, you know, going back at somebody, that's
fine to me. But I didn't was it was it
my favorite? No? To answer your question, now.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Does it does this game? What what conclusion do you
come to with Kansas City coming out of this game?
Can they get back? Can they can they win more?
Did this signify maybe a change or shift the difference?
What was your takeaway?

Speaker 9 (29:32):
Well, they better get better on the on the opfensi
of the defensive lines. If that wasn't the message sent
by the Philadelphia Eagles to the rest of the league,
and then I don't know what it is. And when
we talked about it the other day, there are only
so many big people on the planet who can play
the game and rush the passer and block the for
the quarterback. And if you don't have them, you better

(29:52):
get them because if you don't, it's going to show up.
And I think you know, they kind of hid their
falls all year long, and the Eagles, they went when
you can rush, you go back in history and you
look at the teams that have beat the good offenses
with the good defenses. You can rush with four guys,
you're gonna win. Seattle did it to Denver, the Giants
did it to New England when they were the great offense.

(30:14):
With four guys. You can rush with four guys. That
makes it so much easier on what you can do
on the back end, and quarterbacks will struggle with it.
And that's what we saw. So, uh, get big, get stronger,
get faster with your pass rushers, and you will win games.
And that's what we saw. With the Philadelphi Eagles, big
bullies and they always win and we saw that.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
Uh pete.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Favorite storyline this offseason in the NFL to track will be.

Speaker 9 (30:39):
What where does I'm curious to see where Sam Darnold
goes and.

Speaker 5 (30:46):
What he gets I mean over Rogers.

Speaker 9 (30:50):
I don't know what is he even gonna play.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
I mean, there's betta gods out there you can bet
on where he ends up.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
You think he plays up in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 9 (30:59):
You like that?

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Well, okay, let's his preface this by saying, no one's
saying that. We're saying the odds are right now. Pittsburgh's
the betting favor for that's where he'd land.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
Do you like that?

Speaker 9 (31:10):
I don't. I can't imagine Aaron Rodgers playing in Pittsburgh.
I just doesn't see that doesn't seem that doesn't look
right to me. I think Donald's gonna end up. Donald's
gonna end up with the Raiders, right, They're gonna have
They're gonna go pay him. But would you that's the question,
the great question.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Russ doesn't end up with with the Raiders.

Speaker 9 (31:30):
Russ can't play at all anymore.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Thus, back to my original point, why did he end
up in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 9 (31:38):
You know it is well, he had a one year deal.
I mean the one year deal looks the deal, and
they benchfield and put him in there.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Moon ball.

Speaker 9 (31:45):
He threw a couple of moon balls and Pickets made
him look good. And then when Pickens was hurt and
Thickets was moping around and he didn't look good. I mean,
it's quite evil.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
All right. Indeed, you figure out it's kind of high Pete.
I mean, who else really stands out as the go
to guy on the prior move but nobody.

Speaker 9 (32:02):
Had to go to guys in the russ But the
guy isn't thrown in the middle of the field of Sorry, Brady,
I'm sorry. I know you had a training camp with Russell.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
He played well, they made the playoffs. Like, what are
we talking about?

Speaker 9 (32:12):
Not play well?

Speaker 5 (32:14):
So who would you have rather seen the quarterbacks they
had the last few years?

Speaker 9 (32:18):
No, no, obviously not. He did not play well. Just
sit there and say that he played well. It was ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
Give me he did play well, he played in the playoffs.

Speaker 9 (32:26):
He didn't play well, Brady, he didn't play well. And
by the way, Sam Donald's gonna get forty million dollars,
would you pay forty million dollars.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Sam Donald's yeah, I don't know. The way the season
ended to kind of sour things.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Honestly, A Pete, if you had to pick one of
these three quarterbacks next year to be your starter, who
is it Rogers, Kirk Cousins, or Russell Wilson, I.

Speaker 9 (32:54):
Would take I would take Rogers. I would take Rogers.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Rogers.

Speaker 9 (32:59):
Rogers play better than all of them down the stretch.
He was down to stretch when Rogers was healthy, he
actually played pretty good football for the Jets.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Pete hates Wilson and Cousins. He's been reluctant to ever
give them compliments.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
And it's only because I.

Speaker 9 (33:14):
Give him compliments and then they ultimately turn in who
they are, which is just you know, average guys.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
They're great.

Speaker 9 (33:20):
Russell Wilson played. Russell Wilson played with the lower the
best scoring defense in the history of the league, I
mean four straight years, right, Look, they were the scoring
leaders in defense four straight years. The only other team
that did that was the fifties Dynasty Browns. That makes
it a lot easier on the quarterback. So look, they're okay,
none of them right now are very good. But I

(33:41):
probably leaned to Rogers. I thought at the end of
the year he showed a little something if he plays.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Here's what I love about Pete Is I love you saying?
Are you talking about the Seattle Seahawks group?

Speaker 9 (33:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (33:52):
Okay, that wasn't the case for Pittsburgh this year and
there were top ten scoring defense.

Speaker 9 (33:56):
It was very good on deb But by the way,
if you look at the quarterback Grant landscape, right, take
those guys, Arnold, throw them in there as well, and
then you got the draft and those guys have Everybody
in this draft has tons of major correct There's no
guys at the top like there was last year where
you're sitting there going wow, wow, wow, And so where
do you find the damn quarterback? If you don't have one,

(34:18):
that's the problem. And if you keep trying to piece
it together, it isn't working. It's not going to work.
So that like, if you're the Giants and the Jets,
what are you doing? What do you what do you do?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (34:32):
Well, I mean the Jets are letting Rogers go. What
is your answer? It's like Tyrod Taylor, I mean, they're
not gonna They're not gonna be the position. Probably the draft.
One of these guys, what do you do?

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Well?

Speaker 5 (34:43):
I know we do.

Speaker 4 (34:44):

It's leave laugh joker, We go all right to Lap?

Speaker 2 (36:43):
What do we got?

Speaker 7 (36:44):
Well, guys, not sure if you've seen this or not,
but President Trump has ordered the US Mint to stop
making pennies. Meanwhile, high schools are starting to ban students
wearing crocs, so My question to you guys is what
would you rather ban pennies or crocs?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Why though Fox I get rid of crocs. What's the problem.

Speaker 7 (37:01):
They say it's a safety issue because kids keep on
slipping and twisting their ankles.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
W that sounds like a lawsuit coming. When's the last
time you, guys used a penny? When's I don't use cash?
They could just do away with cash all together. I
got a whole thing in my truck filled with change
of Okay, when's the last time you use it, Jonas,
Because if you have a whole thing full of it,
clearly you're.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Not using it. It's been a little while. The last
time I use quarters was when I stopped to wash
like wash down my car. That's the last time I
needed quarters or an air for my tire. They still
I mean, they do tap for tire air now too,
But I did need air for my tire and use quarters.

(37:48):
There you go.
