final hour of today's program, you know, just hoping for
(00:59):
some better attitude. It's behind the scenes here, that's all
we're hoping for here. You know, people change matter, People change.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
You know. It's oh good. She used to be cool, friendly.
Lorena's gotten really mean. She says, like all of a sudden.
I wonder if it's her popularity. Has it gone to
her head?
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Like?
Speaker 4 (01:19):
I mean, I don't know, man, is it that or
her like defending Lee? I think it's I mean, maybe
she's upset that we we attack Lee. I don't know,
I don't know something.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I mean all Lee's life to the surface.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
You're correct, but I think her interpretation of it is
we attack him, and maybe that's why she's so mean
to hers.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I don't I've been in a great mood all day, fellas,
I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I am the happiest person. I have so much popcorn
of all different flavors. I couldn't be upset if I
tried to. There's so much sarcasm in your voice. Why
do you popcorn? I got a box from one of
her thirty bags of popcorn, and they're all different flavors.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
From one of your listeners, right, Oh my gosh, I
had to cinnamon Toa's crunch flavor.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
Oh see how she's ignoring me? Who sent them?
Speaker 5 (02:10):
You know?
Speaker 4 (02:11):
No, we don't. That's why we are. We don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
In fact, no one knows.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
I checked them on my Instagram. M all right, Yeah,
and now we're doing that. Okay, she's big time, man,
she's big time in us. All right. Yeah, I mean,
you know we got fans too, Lorna. You know we
could act like that towards you because we have fans too,
you know, I know you do. Like the firefighter at
Disneyland who gave you a special Yeah, shouts out to
(02:38):
my guy, appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, what's up man?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Bro?
Speaker 4 (02:41):
What's his name again? Jeff? Jeff?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Maybe it's yeah, it's Ted.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Jeff and Ted's excellent adventures.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
By the way, I met some listeners of the show
at Petro some money so remote they did on Friday.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
That looks really cool, Jonas. Yeah, they had.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Their remote out here in that and Oaks and got
to meet some listeners.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
People.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
People get up early to listen to this show. They
want to know, want to be alive from show to show. Huh.
That's that's our whole I told you all. Like, people
ask me like, hey, man, is Lee really I was like, yeah,
it's it's probably worse than what you think. No, I'm
deep real with them, like we're trying to help them.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
We're trying I look vicariously through Lee because I don't.
My life is so boring in comparison.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
I don't really want to.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Live that way.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
I don't. I don't either. I mean I would like
to live a variation of, like I said, the freedom life,
but not Lee's.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I don't even feel if you're free if you can't
sleep in your own bed some nights.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Yeah, that's right. I call that a vacation.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Yeah, sleeping in other people's couches.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
Hey man, sometimes a little break, you know, guys make
them think they got to win.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
I get a night. I get a night to myself. Hey,
nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Lee.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
I told you I'm team Lee all the way. So
the head game, maybe sure is let's let's let's talk
some sports. Too much Lee talk. Now, let's move on.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
So we are going to catch up with Duke Tobin's
cabana boy Pete Prisco coming up about about fifteen minutes
from now.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
But but.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Before we do, uh, Joe Burrow last night after the
game was asked about.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
The would probably be a good cabana boy too, Ask him, yeah,
he's got the tan FORO.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I mean he hat that and then play it back from.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
But Joe Burrow did talk last night about the Trey
Hendrickson deal very optimistic. I mean very optimistic something's going
to get done. Based on the Bengals history.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (04:56):
I think historically these deals with us have gotten done
closer to to week one. I signed on the Thursday
before the first game. Jamar's started to pick up, you
know that week before last year too, and you know
we were able to get Team Jamar done early this year,
(05:16):
so that was great. But I think historically the way
we've done businesses, you know, that tends to pick up
here in the next two weeks.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
So we'll see.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
So the fact that Trey Hendrickson was on the sidelines,
Terry McLaurin was not, but Trey Hendrickson was on the sidelines,
maybe there is some optimism that they're going to get
it done.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
At an away game, he was on the sidelline. So
that means he traveled with the team and probably went
through the meetings and went through the whole pregame scenario.
So I mean that's there, right, Yeah, he has been there. Listen.
I saw the headline pop up like wasted some of
(05:59):
the Burrow's best years. I don't know that to be true.
I will say he certainly is a gifted and talented player,
and you have some gifted and talented players on that offense.
I mean that's you'd be hard pressed to find a
better duo than Chase and obviously Burrow. Why would you
(06:24):
take the one player that makes your defense that much better?
And regardless of where they rank, where they fall, what
people may think in terms of, well, they don't have
a good defense anyway, Like no, if you think they
don't have a good defense now with him, why would
(06:45):
you want to imagine what your defense is going to
be without him? Little trial? I why would you waste
trying to figure out if you have an answer for
not signing Hendrickson to your team to come back and play,
why would you waste not only his time, but why
would you waste Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase? Why would
(07:10):
you waste their years? If you don't have a defense,
a formidable defense, you will not have a legitimate opportunity
of winning a game. You're not going to outscore everybody.
You're just not so. I just I hope they do
get the deal done, But it'd be interesting to see
(07:33):
if they stand on the fact that we're just not
in a place where we want to give that type
of contract to Trey Hendrickson, you got to, uh, you're.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Gonna ask Prisco that. I think Prisco will say they'll
get the deal done. They'll get the deal. He showed up,
They'll get the deal done. But also LeVar, I think
he will push back on that. He'll push back on that,
like they stunk last year with them, so you know,
how much worse can they get? Something kind of like that?
(08:05):
That is that's that's that's my guess for Priscot.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I do love the predicting Pete element of all this.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
What isse Pete? Pete's like that dad that everyone grew
up with that you just either so predictable. They're like
stuck in their ways. They have their their routines, their habits,
and you know exactly how they're going to respond to
pretty much everything, like ninety percent of the time, you're like,
this is how he's gonna respond to it, Like you're
never gonna be cut off guard.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
M I wonder what do you guys think in terms
of what is the important level of signing Trey Hendrickson?
Speaker 6 (08:45):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Is it dire if he doesn't return?
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Like?
Speaker 4 (08:51):
What is it is? It minimum damage if he doesn't return?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
What what is it? Wouldn't it also not land real
well with Joe burn Like if so, we're we're supposedly
all in, we're trying to win a super Bowl, and
we're gonna let that guy walk Like that would just
start down the path of maybe where Carson Palmer got
to where he's like, I can't trust my organization to
(09:16):
do what's best for us to go actually try and
compete for another.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Did you guys see the reports that Mike Vrabel and
the Patriots would love to swoop in and try to
get them. They need have seen that they need him?
Who wouldn't need them? You can never have too many
pass rushers. Man, You get to what was it? He
had fifteen sacks and seventeen seventeen and seasons and the
(09:44):
team had fifteen, right something to that effect. The rest
of the team had like eighteen and he had seventeen.
Right there, It is there, it is. I don't it's
mind boggling, it really is. I don't know. I just
I wonder how how bet does this defense need Trey Hendrickson?
(10:05):
You know he uh, Trey Hendrickson does have a history
with Dennis Allen. Dennis Allen is the defensive coordinator in Chicago.
I'm just saying, no, I'm just saying, I'm just saying
that there's you know, there's options.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Just like you get what draft picks are they giving up? Like,
what's the trade compensation?
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Maybe give him up a second round pick? Yeah, a
second round pick? What does uh? What does Cincinnati need?
What do they need in return? What could they use?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Maybe there's a you know, running back they could throw
in there, you know, maybe a wide receiver, you know,
throw them, you know, throw them a wide receiver if
need be, if they want to add and just load
up on offense all the way. I'm just saying there's
teams out there. Elliott Wolf of the Patriots have said
they'd be willing to part ways with a high draft
pick if it meant improving their test.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
That's l Wolf for the Patriots. Yeah, so you've got
but you want to throw the Bears in that.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
I'm just saying, look look at teams that need a
pass rusher. I'm just saying there's definitely Crowbar moment letting
you guys know there's options out there for people. I'm
always trying to get the Bears in the conversation, can
we wait to see if they're actually good this year?
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Jonas, We just you did this with the We did
this with the Cubs. You got all excited and then
we kept saying, hey, the Brewers are pretty.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Good, and you're like, hey, listen, I've accepted the reality
of the Cubs, but I know what the Cubs are.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Trust me.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I grew up a Cubs fan. I'm familiar with how
this story goes. And everything was fine in Chicago and
everybody was just accepting of all that came with being
a Cub fan until your golden domer Craig Council walked
in the door and everything that's not true.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
What actually happened this season. They're off to a good start,
they were battling for the division. And then there's some
people I know that went out to Chicago for like
a family trip or maybe just a trip, and they
seemed like everything went downhill after that.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Well, you know, we're not gonna maybe you the oh
maybe you know, we're not gonna you know, attack anybody
here on the air on this show. I know that
for sure, but I don't I don't know that those
two things I don't think those two things coincide. I
just think that they've now realized, oh, you know, it
was all those bad teams we beat early on. Maybe
(12:18):
that's what what led do what we are so, but
who cares about all that? And by the way, you
want to talk about crow barring something in Lee's Got
dreaming with Lee's Got dreams, Lee's Got dreams of Michaeh.
Parsons in Green Bay based on Ian ray did he
did come up in here and saying that, So there's
a crow bar for you. He did come up in here.
Speaker 6 (12:38):
I'm just reporting you got to you guys that Ian
Rappaport says the packers are could be in the mix there.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
For there's not a shot in held Dallas trays Michael
Parsons literally, no shot in hell, no shot, no man.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Troy Aikman was I don't know what Jerry's thinking or
what he may do. He's a wild cart bro. I'm
telling you he might make the decision just based on
how he feels when he wakes up the day that
he makes the decision. It just doesn't feel like he's
going to budge on whatever it is he's offered, and
he feels like he shook the man's hand, like they
(13:14):
spit on their hand. They shook hands, and that was
the deal and all they needed to do was just
like move on with it, like and if all else fails,
you are under contract. I just don't know how it's
going to end. I mean, but he did say his
price is going up and he is going to get paid.
I mean he did say that on the On the telecasts,
people used to spit on their hand and shake. Yeah.
(13:38):
Well that's when men were men. It's foul. You know,
some would argue that. You know, some people used to
prick their hand or cut their hand. And you were
blood brothers, you know, you shake the hand with Bud,
you know, blood did and blood out or Mac and
Latimer in the program spitting each other's mouth. I never
(13:59):
heard of that until I saw that, and never heard
of it after that. That was one of those, I guess,
unique moments. Don't We got to go to break because
we got to have time for Prisco, right, we do?
I think so.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Pete, good morning, what's up guys?
Speaker 5 (16:06):
I with the vacation.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Good morning, Pete. It was nice, p it was nice.
I wish I was still vacationing.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
Did you go anywhere? Fun?
Speaker 4 (16:15):
No, I didn't need to just home, steady, Pete, where
did you vacation When you need a break? Caribbean anywhere?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Or is there a special spot this year? Rube is
the special spot? Yeah, I love a Rube. I've gone
about twenty times.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
I love it is that the origin of your base tan.
Is that why you got that nice olive skin?
Speaker 5 (16:39):
I can. I can actually tell you this, Brady as
tan as I am. When I first went to a Ruba,
the sun was so hot I got torched. I mean
like just torched because you you're so close to the equator.
But not only that, it's just such a hot sun
and the wind blows so you don't really feel it.
You don't even realize you're getting that torch. So yeah,
(17:00):
one year I left, and you know, they we were leaving,
and so the locals came up and said, oh, you
might want to go. Your can is unbelievable to her.
And they didn't even acknowledge mine because I think they
thought I lived there.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Tang, Thanks Pete. That's a hell of a tan.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Then, oh, when I get dark, I get really dark.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
I'm golden brown.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
I've seen You've seen it. You only see me at this.
You see me at the super Bowl, though I'm usually
pale at the super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Oh well that is wow. Then yeah, you get darker
than that, darker?
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Oh yeah, much darker.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Wow. Okay, what's up brother? Yeah, what's up? Home? I mean,
he's just a shade lighter than me when I see
him at Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
It is what it is.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Hey, Pete, why was Joe Burrow playing last night?
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Well, okay, maybe you play the first drive, but why
were you playing the second drive? I mean, to me,
that's just risking it. I don't mind the guy going
down the field playing the first drive getting some work
in because you've got to have three weeks before you
play again. I get it, But why put him back
out there for a second drive. That makes no sense
to me? And yeah, I don't I'm with you, Brady,
(18:11):
I I don't understand that. I mean, he goes down,
They're done. It's that simple. I don't you know. There's
some of the veteran players can play. I get that,
but Joe Burrow shouldn't be playing past one drive, and
if it's a successful drive like it was, he certainly
shouldn't be playing.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
I mean, their defense wasn't crazy dominant last year, but
I mean, I think the season is done. If they
don't get Trey Hendrickson signed, he'll.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Show up, they all show up. He'll play. I mean,
every every week we do this and every week all
the analysts go on every show and across the country
and they say, Oh my gosh, can you believe this?
It's unreal what they're offering.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Can you believe this? They have not signed Trey Hendrickson
yet to a deal. Can you believe that?
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yeah? I believe it, But I'm not. I'm not like
every other analyst out there who does the negotiation for
the for the agent, I mean the agent. They listen,
did I tell you that James Cook was going to
come in? And what did he come in at twelve
million a year? Just like I said he would.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
I mean, so we'll call your shot, then, Pete, what
is what is Trey Hendrickson's deal going to be? What's
what are you looking at?
Speaker 5 (19:19):
The deal's going to average him too close to the
forty or at the forty. But the system matter of
the structure of the deal, that's what he wants to
guarantee you.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
They'll figure it out.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
Yeah, they'll figure it out. They'll I guarantee. I'm saying
he gets a new contract before the season. Michaeh Parsons
will get a new contract probably the week of the
open of the season, and Terry mcclorum will get a
new deal. They'll all play And here's the other part
of the equation. They all have a year left on
their deals. That's like when people put out there he's
going to sever ties with the Dallas Cowboys. Michael severed
(19:49):
tize how he's under contract for this year and they
could tag him the next two years. He can't sever
ties for three years. That's not his decision. So ultimately.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
And jump to the table and trade.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
I mean, are the Cowboys going to trade him?
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I mean, do they want to pay it?
Speaker 5 (20:07):
What was to trade him?
Speaker 4 (20:08):
It would be foolish to pay them, But I mean
some would say it'd be foolish to be in a
situation you're currently in here, you're the.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
Problem with Trey Hendrickson. Okay, let's let's push farces to side.
But let's start with Trey Henderson. He was on the market,
he was being peddled in April May anybody, nobody made
a deal for him then. So now you're later in
the process, and now they're asking for a defensive starter,
a first round pick, and so you give up all
(20:34):
that and you're paying Trey Hendrickson forty million dollars a
year for a guy who's thirty years old, who's going
to run to the.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Table to that.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
Pete, Why were young Pete?
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Why why were you going back and forth with somebody
on social media following Dylan Gabriel's pick six, like, are
you being I feel like you're being put in in
the Dylan Gabriel camp and they're trying to create a
divide between Gabriel and in this company.
Speaker 5 (21:06):
I'm not neither. I'm not neither one of those camps.
But somehow, some way, lost in all this stuff is
the fact that Kevin Sevanski and this coach's death must
really be stupid because, oh my gosh, how dare they
have Shador Sanders at number four? Well, just because he
did okay in the preseason game doesn't necessarily mean he
(21:27):
should be number one or two or three or four
or three, because they had a whole body of work
in the offseason to watch the guy. So we just
discount that work based on one preseason game because the
fans saw.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
The pre seas he's a gamer, gamer.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Okay, okay, But then Gabriel went in and did a
lot of good things. Threw a pick six. Did you
see the pick six? There were two receivers in the
same spot and one of them pulled his hands back.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
He threw it, so huh he threw it.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Well, he threw it. Look, they were both about the same.
Neither one of them were great. They were okay. But
the reality is Joe Flacco is the starting quarterback, Joe
Flacco should be the starting quarterback, and Joe Flacco will
probably play as long as the Browns are in some
kind of hot Pete should he.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Pete called some guy at X who was who was
setting in the Dylan Gabriel pick six and going back
and forth about him. He called the guy an idiot,
a moron, and a chump in three consecutive tweets, Pete.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
He annoyed. He annoyed me. He annoyed me. Hey, by
the way, we're gonna put you know, I call him
the boys of Summer. All these guys, these quarterbacks that
look great but sets and Bennett is going to the
Hall of Fame. Did you know that? I mean, he
was fantastic. I mean they're playing against guys who are
going to be on the street next week. You're playing
(22:48):
against vanilla defenses. It's hard. It's a hard evaluation of
the quarterback position based on what you see in the preseason.
But put your door in sets and Bennett and and Gabriel,
all of them in the Jackson Dark put them all
in the Hall of Fame because of what they've done
in the preseats. That's ridiculous. We just don't you think
coaches watch they have you know, when you're practicing through
(23:09):
the entire offseason. Don't they have some kind of evaluation
process going on that the reason they go in the
training camp that Shador Sanders is fourth for a reason.
And you could say, okay, well he's fourth because he
was he was a late round draft pick. No, he's
fourth because of the way they've seen him work in
the off season or their coach is staff and Kevin Stepanski.
(23:29):
That dumb and I don't buy that.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Let me ask you this, Pete, going back to Trey Hendrickson,
you know their defense wasn't that great last year, even
though you're so productive. Do you think that's maybe one
of their I don't know points is like, hey, you know,
get traded, you know, don't show up. It's not like
we were world beaters with you right?
Speaker 5 (23:50):
Well, were they twenty fifth against the overall defense in
the yards? And I think twenty something in points and
late and they couldn't stop the pass. So yeah, if
you're sitting negotiating with him, Mark, you sitting there saying, hey, Trey,
you had a great year, but our team stuck, our
defense stuck again. Though, Brady, there's a change in defensive coordinator,
which I think is.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
A good thing, right, But but you know our golden scheme.
It really it's like as an attack of like a
roll of decks of different blitzes, but almost to the
point where like, you know, right.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
So does that help him or hurt him? You know
what I mean?
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Does he get probably hurt help him, doesn't help him?
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Yeah, So I think I think I'm with you, Brady.
I could see that Viadas in a negotiating plot and Toloy.
But also he's also you know, not a kid anymore either,
which is why do you see it along list of
teams lining up the trade for him?
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Well, I think the hard thing is probably the trade compensation,
which I don't know what you think you'd go for.
The next thing is they know they guy sounded into
a deal and it sounds like, I mean, everything's in place,
with the exception of guarantees, which I was trying to
explain to people and this is something that like it
doesn't get talked about enough because now the contracts are
getting like out hand and the amount of guaranteed money
(25:03):
that are, you know, for your top two percent of
players or whatever is per roster. We're talking hundreds of
millions of dollars and these owners, due to the funding rule,
they have to put an escrow. Like, I don't think
people understand how big of a deal that is for
this league, keeping down not only players from having fully
guaranteed contracts, but also just in general of you know,
(25:24):
owners putting more guarantees in deals because of the funding rule.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
Well unless you unless you're an owner that can.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Come off the hip and just pay it, which Jimmy
HASLM is one which you know, people on social media
push back as we're comparing them to the Bengals, even
though you won't say they're cheap, they're cheap. They don't
they don't throw them on money like HASM does. It
is what it is.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
But by the way that that I'm not saying, I'm
not saying, by the way, no.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
But Brady Jimmy has them thrown around money the way
he did really worked out well for him in the.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Quarterback position over the And that's that's what you'd say
as a pushback, right, is it hasn't worked and the
quarterback position, by the way, the should just kept Baker,
you know. Whatever happened with them happened, you know, is
what it is. But it's worked out for Miles Garrett.
Like if we're really going to compare like apples apples,
all right, they paid their edge rusher. Apparently that you know,
(26:13):
Hendrickson's you know, not getting the deal he wants.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Correct, So what are you trying to say that the
break you're trying to go into a Bengals are cheap.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
Most Yeah, that's what exactly what it is.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
Well, it's not that they're cheap, it's that they don't
structure the contract is different. So and they they did.
But here's the kicker to that. They fucked that trend
with the other guys.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Must say that, Okay, they signed Burrow. It's a no brainer.
Every team can do.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
That, right, I mean, okay, tell us something we don't know.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
What's that?
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Tell us something we don't know then, because that like
signing Burrow is the most no brainer drafting Burroughs, signing
Burrow is the most no brainer move the Bengals could
could have made, like I could, I could train a
get the Columbus Zoo to go to be like, yeah,
let's go sign Burrow to the steel I'm just saying,
like that is the most no brainer thing in the world.
(27:09):
Like it's it's figuring out how to be able to
get multiple star players under contract, and you've got to
be willing to spend the cash to do it. And
they're in a window now or they should be doing it.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Didn't They just get Higgins and Chase done.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Higgins deal isn't great. Let's be honest, Like the Chase
deals good, that's that's up there. But the Higgins deal
isn't great.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
You know that. Higgins Okay, But Brady, if the Higgins
deal isn't great, isn't that a win for the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Sure, but Hendrickson's you got seventeen SaaS last two years,
Like you don't think he deserves like a top contract
or one of them.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
Well you should get Yeah, you should get forty million dollars.
But they should figure out. They'll figure out. Believe me,
they'll figure out a way to make it work. It'll
be signed by training camp. We waste so much.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
We're in training camp or in preseason, signed by week one,
by the regular season, he will be playing in week
one for the Bangles.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
And here's the other part of it. He's under He's
scheduled to make what sixteen this year? Yeah, leaving that on, leaving.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
That there, I mean, that's a pretty long departure from
guys that he's outproduced the last two years.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Pete, wait, okay, know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
I mean, Pete, Pete, hold on, you are a quick
bait master. Like people love hearing your different takes and
all those things. If you found out you were getting
paid less than half of I don't know, pick your
CBS personality, all right, Musso or someone I don't know.
That's why I've ben comparable. But like, pick your personality
(28:39):
and you found out you're getting paid less than half
of them, wouldn't that frustrate you?
Speaker 5 (28:43):
Absolutely? But if I'm under contract, is not a lot
you can do about it, is there?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
So you just sucked it up, kick the can down
into the Okay, here you go nother day work.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
But here's the point, Brady on Hendrickson, if he is
he gonna leave that money on the dead set. That's
the question you got to ask yourself. Will he is
he willing to sit out the entire season?
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Well, he knows the answer to that because he's probably
willing to take I bet you know the guarantees are
on sixty. He wants him to be at eighty something whatever,
And that's where they're stuck on the two years, you know,
the next two years being guaranteed. That'd be mine he wants.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Yeah, he wants three years guaranteed.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
No one's give him three years. The quarterbacks barely get
that sometimes, right, Well.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
And so and so if he doesn't get a new contract,
that's the question I asked for both him, McLaurin and Parsons.
Are they going to leave the money that's in their
contract for this year on the table?
Speaker 4 (29:37):
I say, like a Parsons could potentially do it. Pete,
what do they What did he do?
Speaker 5 (29:42):
Then? What does he do levard leave it on the
table again next year and leave it on the table
again the next year?
Speaker 4 (29:47):
I think I think it's a it's a forced trade.
If he doesn't play, if he starts to not play,
I think it's a forced trade.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
Pete.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
What do they always Pete? What do they always do
they all show up and play?
Speaker 5 (30:02):
They all up and play?
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Pete, I got one more question for you, not the
horror pivot, but you've made your rounds for for preseason
and training camps, and you've collected a lot of data
and a lot of information, and you're a big data
information guy. What's the team that most intrigues you with
(30:23):
the information that you have gathered thus far?
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Intrigues me? How?
Speaker 4 (30:29):
I mean you you can define it? Yeah, you can
define it.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Okay, intrigues me that I think they're better than most
people give them credit for.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
I'll give you one if you want to go down
that road, let's get it.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
I'll give you two, all right, Tampa Bay in Green Bay?
Speaker 4 (30:46):
Okay, you think Green Bay is going to sneak up on.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
People, Well, I sneaking up.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
They're just going to be better than what people even
think they're going to be.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
They're going to be better than what they were a
year ago.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Yeah, okay, all right?
Speaker 5 (31:00):
And then as far as Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay, Tampa
Bay is loaded, and I think Tampa Bay is you know.
The one question is the new offensive coordinator has never
called plays that can be concerning, but you know, and
talking to them. They have high respect for me. Is
a smart guy. I don't know Brady if you know him,
but he's supposedly a really smart guy.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
I don't look good in pre seasons so far, for
whatever that's worth.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Yeah, yeah, And I like to make up of that team.
You know, your guy from Notre Dames hurt again that
that worries me because I thought he was gonna starting job,
you know Mars and Benjamin Mars. Yeah, so yeah, I
think I think. I think Tampa Bay's loaded and they
got a good mix of young and old. And by
the way, Canty is going to have a monster year
(31:45):
for them on that defensive line this year. Just keeping
keep that in the back of your head. I think
this is the breakout, breakout season where he He's one
of those defensive linemen where you look at him and
you go, oh my gosh, he's special.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Can I ask this question, Jonah real quick, p why
have you Jonas? Who are the odds on favorite to
win the NFC South Oh, that.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Okay, right, so you're.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Really you're really not going out on a limb here,
are you?
Speaker 5 (32:08):
For a Super Bowl? I'm talking about pushing for a
Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
So super Bowl like headline is Pete Prisco says Tampa
Bay Bucks going to Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
No, that's not what I said. I said they're push
Then who you pick it?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
You pick Green Bay, like I make your pick.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
I haven't picked it yet. I haven't picked it yet.
But let's put it this way. It's probably one of
the Bays, so you.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
So you're basically saying it from the NFC, the champion
will be Green Bay or Tampa Bay. That's where these
people who are listening right now put your harder money
on them. So it's Tampa Bay, Green Bay, or versus
the field. And they should parlay that or they should
forget a way of constructing that bet.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
They shouldn't do anything. Because my picks are usually dog
you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
I think Pete, Pete's gonna go Green Bay Buffalo again
two years in a row.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
What What makes you think that?
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Because I because I think.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
You've shown I think that you've made that comment before
that you really are strong on Buffalo and you're strong
on Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
I think you're going down that road again.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
You might you might be, you might be smart man
Jonas by the way here, we take a look at schedule.
It's it's it's such a joke. If they don't win
fourteen games, it would be amazing.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Hey, Pete, there's a rumor circulating around about you. You
want to hear it.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Yeah, so we are going to catch up with Duke
Tobin's cabana boy, Pete Prisco.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
You will probably be a good cabana boy. You got
the tan for it? Is this true, Pete? This is
this true?
Speaker 5 (33:40):
Why do you think, by the way, no, but why
do you think that I take up for the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I mean they're like twenty first, twenty second and spending
in cash like nope, nope, Bagels are doing They're doing it.
They're spending.
Speaker 5 (33:53):
But you know what, you know what's amazing every other media,
every other media member out there takes up and look,
I want the players to get everything they possibly get
their hands on, but sometimes you got to be a
realist about it and quick listening to the damn agent
and his babble speak, and I go back to the
James Cook thing. James Cook went in, I'm getting fifteen,
I'm getting fifteen, I'm getting fifteen a year. You were
(34:16):
scheduled to make five. They were offering you twelve. You're
gonna sit there and hold out for the three when
you're scheduled to make five, and you get thirty million guaranteed.
Of course not. The agent was just babbling, babbling, babbling,
I'm getting fifteen, you're not getting fifteen. And what did
he end up getting? He got twelve, and he's happy
as hell about it. So and yet everybody sits there
and listens to the agent, listen to Oh, they're not negotiating,
(34:39):
they're not.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
He's happy. He's happy because he's signed the highest guarantee
for a running back. That's why he's happy.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
I mean, that's what he's happy.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Because he is happy because you guarantees. Dude, no one,
No one gives a crap about average annual value. Do
you know anything about contracts like that doesn't matter. That
just matters the notion, I know.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
But the agent, the agent is. The agent was out
over his skis, and they ended up settling on what
they settled on. They offered him that, by the way,
and from what I understand, that was an offer that
was back in the table, back in back in the spring.
He waited all that time to take you because in
the end in the NP they all show up and
play and you know it and you know it. And if,
(35:24):
by the way, if they don't show up and play,
here's a moral of that story, You're never get that
money back.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
Ever, Well, that's.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
That's sixteen million. That's sixteen million. If Trey Hendrickson set
out the entire season, he's too.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
Old to sit out, he's going to have to play.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
He's going I ain't ever coming back.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
But Parson's I think that that's a that's a potential possibility.
If that's look at Penn State biased. No, no, I
don't believe it's being biased. I just think that he
has age on his side. He happens to be the
one of the most pre he's the most premiere youth
pass rusher in the league.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'll put it this way. In Levar's defense, some will
trade for him. And that's that's what to his point about.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
The age and what he's doing.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
They would trade for him.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Dallas would give and.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
If the Cowboys don't, And if the Cowboys don't trade him,
what are you gonna do with LaVar?
Speaker 4 (36:21):
But he's going to show up and he's going to
bar say it. He's going to say he's going to
show up. He's going to play because they all come
show up. All I know is, uh, we're.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Gonna get T shirts made. They all show up.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Pete shows up every Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
That's all I know.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
And Pete, Uh, Before I let you go, we got
about thirty seconds. We're going to talk to Kenny Dillingham.
Anything you want to know from your son, devil head
coach for the up season.
Speaker 5 (36:52):
I love what he I love what he's doing. I
want him to pay him a little more and get
just a little more to get over the top. But
we're close, We're close. I love what he's done so far,
I will say, and I wish. I love the guy.
I love the way coaches. But the end of the
BYU game almost made me want to throw something at
the TV. So you can bring that up if you
want to. Okay, he almost cost him, He almost cost
(37:15):
him a chance at the playoffs by his botching of
the end of the BYU game. But other than that,
I like what he does.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
That's fair, Pete. We love you man. We'll do it
again next week, all right, guys.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Thank care.

Speaker 6 (38:55):
All right, d Lap, what do we got guys? I
am on the clock in my keeper league and I
need some fantasy advice. I draft James Cook or Chase Brown.
This is hard hitting stuff here.
Speaker 4 (39:05):
I need to know.
Speaker 6 (39:06):
It's a tough one to be my second running back
behind Ashton genty James Cook sixteen rushing touchdowns last year
add on to yeah, touchdown machine or the twenty five
year old Chase Brown.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
All right, I'll go James Cook. Thank you, Jonas on
a fantasy draft right now while you're working.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Well, it's a keeper league, so I you know, it's
it's not like on the clock. It's not there's not
a ticking clock. It's like a I got all dat
to decide, but I'll decide sometime soon.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (39:35):
I got Ashton Gent and aj Brown so far as
my keepers. And next one up James Cook and Chase Brown.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
So I'll figure that out. I'll let you know how
that goes. Guys.
Speaker 6 (39:44):
I wrote it my first Waymo the other day. You
know what a WEAMO is, right, Yeah, that's the self
driving car.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
Yeah. Tripped me out, man, it was. It was pretty
cool though.
Speaker 6 (39:54):
I got to say it was on the it's on
the west side, and got myself a waymo Lee.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Why didn't you drive.
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Because I was intoxicated. I wanted to be safe out there.
I'm not going to drive.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Smart smart decision.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
Yeah. You do know you can get in trouble for
being intoxicated in a way moo in public.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
So oh okay, I just gonna take your chances. We'll walking.
Speaker 6 (40:17):
Huh Yeah, I can handle it. I might hurt myself,
but I'll be good to go. Thank you WEMO.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
Alrighty, then that explains it.
