Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming
up on this football recap Monday. Of course we're talking football.
It was a weird one on Sunday Night Football. And
Pete Prisco's got some thoughts on why coaches continue to
pass up on field goals and go forward on fourth down.
Plus we're gonna have a conversation about bat officiating yet again.

(00:20):
We're also going to talk about the game in Atlanta
that went to overtime and a familiar voice who was
on the call for that game. Plus we've got another
edition of In case you missed it. We've got our
FSR I R and we've got the leftovers. It's all yours.
Coming up next here, Two pros and a cup of
Joe on a football recap Monday, right here, Fox Sports Radio. Right, oh,
oh man, Two pros and Joe, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Stop doing it.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It makes me want to do it.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Due overtime all ride.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
That's terrible.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Oh my gosh, what it just makes me want to
do it.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
You know songs.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Overtime all right?

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
I was so disappointed about beat in Chicago. This week.
We have not heard of Harry Carey from.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
From Jonas and so yeah, it has been a while.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It's got to organically make its way into the show,
you know, it's got to happen organically.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Some things are so organic when they make it in.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
There definitely not. It is two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you. You can find us on the
iHeartRadio app. You can also listen along on hundreds of
affiliates all across the country. We appreciate you making us
a part of your football recap Monday. As we get
into hour three of the program here, now we were
up against it last hour, so we didn't have a

(01:43):
chance to get into this. It is a Monday tradition
here on the show. So without further ado, it is
time for.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
This after your sports weekend happens. So it's time to
get the FSR IR report.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
All right, who's got it? Who's got it?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Lorna, I'll fill it for a red rain because I
had an interesting flight encounter, okay, and what happened. So
I'm sitting next to this lady and she doesn't really
say anything for the majority of the flight, but as

(02:25):
soon as we land, she is all of a sudden
starting to be very talkative, all right. And what was
odd to me was she mentions that her husband is
sitting in the same aisle, but in the window on
the opposite hit like basically it's far away from hers
you can get and She's like, yeah, my husband's on
the other side. And I'm like thinking to myself, I

(02:46):
would have moved had had she just said herd be like, hey,
do you mind switching seats with my husband? And obviously
he didn't ask, which the more she kept talking, I
completely understood why, and I was like, oh, this would
be this would be tough. Like she was just started
talking a lot and then about stuff. At one point
she's like telling me her whole life story, and I

(03:06):
didn't even ask a question. We just went there. I
shouldn't say we went there. She went there. I just
kind of sat there and was just like, all right,
can I look busy while I'm doing something right now?
Because this is a really odd conversation. The pilot gets
on our gates occupied it's gonna be another ten, fifteen,
twenty minutes. I was like, I need to go to
the bathroom or something to try to break up the conversation.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
That's this. Put your hit phones on you you start
doing this. I am notorious for this. Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what. I'm just going you know, I'm gonna
go ahead under my headphones. I'm a feeling really tired.
I'll fake sleep on God, I'll fake me.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I would have had to look narc elliptic in that instant,
so it's gonna be the case.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
So I take these I take I take these these
I covers and they're like electronic, so I make sure
they're always charged because if somebody starts talking and it's
like at first, I'll be I'll be very very kind of.
I try not to be rude, but i'd be like, yes,
Like when we get closer to Penn State and it's
like Pennsylvania people flying to Penn State, right, it's like,

(04:12):
I just want to talk to you. It's like wait,
hold on, I'm sitting next to you, right, and I'm like,
yeah you are, Like let's let's talk about it, like
what's going on? How you doing? Man? As soon as
we get a couple of stories out, of the way.
Now that we got the stories out of the way, Ay, bro, Like,
you ain't going to talk to me the rest of
this flight, are you?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Like?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I can. I'll do that with my own people, you know,
my own kind. But but Penn Staters by the way.
But you know, if it's just like a random person
that just wants to talk, like, hey, what do you do?
What do you do for a living? You know what
I do content? And I got to go under my headphones.
I gotta listen to it, so you know, we'll talk
in a little bit, and I never have any intentions

(04:53):
of returning to the conversation.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
The lady on the flight knew who you were, right Brady.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yeah, she figured that out out. But I was so
what I'd tried to do because I didn't have any
headphones with me, I tried to well because I was
in bulkhead so all my stuff was up. Yeah, so
that's probably my first mistake. But I was I was
like trying to wave down her husband.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
I was gonna be like, do you want to switch
seats now, Like, I'll gladly go for the next twenty
minutes to switch now, And unfortunately they moved gates, so
we started moving again, and I think I just said, oh,
I've got to make a phone call real quick to.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Uh like call it my driver or something, which I
was just taking an uber So I've literally acted like
I was on the phone for like the next I
don't know, three minutes, four minutes.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yeah, I don't have uh, I don't have those problems.
You don't have those problems when he tries to talk
to me.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
What's your biggest issue? Is that when you go to
the Ross Dress for Less and they don't have like
everything in black, and like you've got to actually pick
a color or anything else other than the color black.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
No, I mean it's it's mostly when I feel like
things are priced unreasonably. Like if I go in there
and there's a jacket that would be normally seventy bucks
at a regular store and they've got a four thirty there,
I know eventually I'm gonna be able to haggle my way.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
You don't shop around enough to know what anything's priced
anywhere else.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
That's what I don't. I don't shop at all. So
I probably had the same clothes from like five, six, seven,
eight years ago. Man, I wear the same stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
This is a true story.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So only underwear. That's the only thing I'll get new.
And I have to get that like literally every Christmas
because I don't even do that.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
You get underwear once year.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
I get reloaded at Christmas. That's like my gift.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
What about socks, I don't wear socks.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Have you ever seen the fosh?

Speaker 1 (06:41):
I've never seen you wear socks.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I never wear sot. I don't wear sock.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
What about when you go to when it's cold out
in state college? Any So I don't wear socks. Really,
I don't wear socks. Do your shoes smell?

Speaker 3 (06:53):
No, you don't have to smell very cleanly. I'm a
clean person and I don't wear shoes. My shoes very often,
Like back to back, I had a nice little system.
Only thing that I wear consistently are my flip flops.
That's it. But I don't wear socks. And those don't smell. No,
you won't smell them. No, why not?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
You want to smell mine?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
I'll smell no, hell no, yeah, never mind, nope. Not
the way those look.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Yeah no, they're falling apart. Take your word for it. Yeah,
I was in Uh, I'm such an idiot. I think
my son actually got embarrassed, so we walked in. We
were walking around the mall on Friday because I had
to get my phone screen fixed because he dropped it
and cracked the cover or whatever. So we're walking around.

(07:40):
It was raining out, so we couldn't, you know, really
do anything. So we're just kind of cruising around and
we walk into this store and I see a jacket
that looks just like a jacket that he has, and
he says, Papa, he goes, He goes, you could get
a jacket like me. And I was like, oh, okay.
So I'm looking at this jacket and I'm like, all right,
how much is this thing? So I look at the
tag and it says one seventy nine. I'm like, Jesus,

(08:03):
I'm like, you know what, for some reason, I'll splurge,
you know, just to make him happy.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
I mean that's a lot.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
I get up to the cash or the jacket was
for you or for him? For for for me because
it looked just like a jacket.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yeah, Like so you were going to splurge for you, okay,
and you're blaming it or using your child as the
scape goes way was that was why, that was why.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
The conversation even started, so I'm like, you know what,
I'll splurge. He wanted me to get it. He was
really excited. No problem. Go up to the cash register.
They wring it up. It was seven nineteen for some reason,
seven dollars, seven hundred and nineteen dollars. For some reason,
I thought it was I read one seventy nine. I

(08:47):
don't know if I was just glancing at it in
a hurry and I read one seventy nine. I'm like,
wait a second, it's not one seventy nine. The guy goes, no, man,
and I'm like, yeah, we're good.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Here, take that back.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Oh boy, yeah, we're good.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
To cancel that, my son.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
It's like, why didn't you get it? I was like,
way too much money, man.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
That's not what he said. He said.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
He goes something and I'm like, yeah, hold on, let
me get your mom on, let me get your mom
on FaceTime.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
And see you gotta get translations for your for your kid. Yeah,
that's messed up, bro.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah. Well, the way you're talking about baseball skills, he's
gonna be like Tommy, so maybe have a translator. Anyway,
And knowing you, he'll tell me his dad the best
coming from Jonas. I guarantee the translator will be will
be poising all the bets.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, hundred percent, absolutely, But seven hundred dollars for a jacket.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah, dude, jackets are at I mean, I bet, I
bet Levar's got some expensive ones. You probably Canadian Goose.
I guarantee you got like a Canadian Goose one.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Don't you Goose down?

Speaker 1 (09:52):
What is a Canadian whatever?

Speaker 2 (09:53):
You know, it's an expensive brand. I see people wearing
them all the time.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah. I have some night clothes, but I don't buy
I don't buy my clothes.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I don't, okay, but you can't wear that hat like
you wore to a funeral and not have some sort
of fashion trend and some expensive.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
I do buy my hats, and those are expensive. I
do buy my.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Hats Canada Goose. Yeah, these are I do like my hat.
I butchered that name, didn't I whatever? Okay, I pretty
established at that funeral though.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
You look stylish, af man. I was almost cussed before
I appreciate it. Man, Well, that's what I was like. Man,
he's he's very fashionable, he's very like trend setting. I'm like,
I'm not. I'm not trying to be that guy.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Yeah, it's too hard. Color. That's what I appreciate. Thanks man,
you are always color.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
I always appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Did you grow up with grannimals, LeVar? Are you that
old animals?

Speaker 7 (10:49):
Like?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Do you know what that Graham Cracker animals? What what?

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Or No? No, No, Grannimals used to be this clothing
for kids, and I believed what they did is they
put like there was like an elephant, and then you'd
match it with an elephant, so you knew what matched.
Oh no, they probably need to do that nowadays. So
you have like a tiger match with tiger. So yeah, no,
that's pretty cool. But no, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
I don't know. My mom just always dressed us. I've
never dressed myself. Just go with the flow. I just
always I've done well with women. My mom took care
of me. She had my clothes.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
So you're saying that outfit Trish laid out for you
just for.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
To probably probably like the way she the way she
does my my, the laundry, the way it's hung up.
You know, it's a it's organized.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
You know who Jail Sun is. He's he's a UFC fighter,
so he says that his wife literally picks out his
outfit every day, and when and when he goes on trips,
she packs for him. So whatever he wears is based
on her piggy. He never not wears that same stuff.
That's the thing. Like, I'm very simple. Only thing that

(11:57):
I would try to like mix up from time to
time are my sneakers. It's the only thing that I've
really ever actively pursued are my sneakers.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Like that's kind of everything else is Everything else is
just you know, damn.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, Larady, you got anything you didn't You go to
Disneyland and the rain on Friday went. It was fantastic.
It actually didn't rain the whole time.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Hey, Jonice, what's Mancy's last name?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Blos Okay, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I like that so much.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
It's a great song.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Well, it's great when you two do the whole thing together.
It's a thing.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
I think others have hijack that on the network. Gotten
some word that some other people.

Speaker 8 (12:42):
Posers, No one's original anymore posers.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I exactly did, Like does the Bolognas like that on
the network? Yes?

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Like who would do that? I forget it was one
of the other shows did it. It really pissed me
off actual because I didn't get any credit.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
For I know what I was trying to do. I'm
just curious as to who I know where he's trying to.
I'm just wondering who it would be, don't I'm just
wondering who.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Let me hold you back?

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Who would do play game show music?

Speaker 8 (13:10):
If we want to find.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Out, who would do? No, I'm not doing this.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Who would there is such a thing not doing it.
I'm just I mean, Jonas, Is it a one man show? No? Wrong,
I just want to do process of elimination here. It's
not okay. Is it a weekend show?

Speaker 1 (13:36):
No?

Speaker 3 (13:37):
No, it's a weekday lineup show.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Correct. I really don't remember specifically with show.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
But were they my complexion?

Speaker 2 (13:54):
No?

Speaker 1 (13:55):
No, no, no, no, you mean black?

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Mallard's out? Yeah, Ben Mallard's out. Ben Mallard, No what what?
Jason Smith isn't out yet? That's not out yet. Who
knew Jason Smith was black? Yeah? They're not out yet.
The odd couple are out? Uh. Ben Mallard and Doug
Gottlee bar out because they're single man shows.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
It's not a Brady's co host on Big New kickoff Colin.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Coward, all right, so it's not cow hurt. I certainly
isn't Dan Patrick. No, I don't believe so.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
By the way I saw Coward, I said to him,
because you know, he came on the show and he
gave his little spiel, and I said to him, I
was like, I'm glad you moved back to the Midwest.
I was like, you look like you had a little gritty,
a little tougher. I just kind of loved at about.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
So he'd respond, how do you respond to it?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
He probably he just he just came off this whole
segment where of saying hel West Coast creative, innovative, all
this stuff and talking about quarterback, action, football and sports.
I'm like, oh, so, I guess the Midwest East coach
never invented anything. I was like, that's we're going to
go that route, all right, here we go. But he
was like kind of just laugh. I don't know if
he takes me seriously. Usually I shout to rip them

(15:13):
every every chance I get, just to say it Jonas,
he thinks it's Covino and Rich that's what you think.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Who thinks is that?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I don't know. I mean, I don't I really don't know.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
That's what you get down to. I mean, is that
who's left Lorena? I don't.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
I really do believe that is.

Speaker 8 (15:30):
The only one left besides the Jason Smith Show.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
That could be the other. That could be the other option.
Somebody made mention of it, but hey whatever. Listen, you
know Monty's onto bigger and better things. She doesn't need
us an there you get.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
So you're saying bigger and better. So you're you're saying
Covino and Rich shouts out to Rich, Wow, you just
can't have anything good, can you don't? We bring out
Blanyos and they took it from ya. Well, I mean fortunate,
I mean it. I mean they're qualified. One of them

(16:02):
is qualified to do it anyway, right, I mean it
comes out qualifications. You can relate to it. Huh.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
If he can sing, he could.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Be well he could be the translator though.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Rhythm.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
I don't know anything about that.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
He speaks Spanish, bro, so does my son. But you don't.
So you're qualified, is what I'm saying. See, Okay, that's
all you got.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Also, Jonas sent me a voice note this week, A
very nice voice note. Jonas was in a good mood.
He must you must have had a good show Saturday.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
When do I ever send bad voice notes?

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Uh, there's some ones where you're not in the great
frame of mind.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
You know, I was excited for you calling that game.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
I really want to know you were excited. We were
at Wrigley because I sent you and you're like, yeah,
I will say this that I mean, I don't say
bucket list. That was one of the cooler experiences I've
I've ever had. But just the history and that everything
that was awesome. Man, that that there's like that I've
been on that that field before. But I don't know

(17:11):
that I fully appreciated it, probably because I was inebriated,
most likely by the way when they just said, you
don't appreciate the same if you're like drunk and you're
out there, you know, having fun or having good time.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
But make sure when they showed the video, you've thrown
out the first pitch, so you were I'm traveling.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah, yeah, it was fine.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
I mean.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
The mound, I'm like a clatt You've never thrown out
of first pitch obviously, because they don't ever let you
throw out from the mount.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
It's like you let George w do it.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I'm like, that's that was after nine to eleven for sure, sure,
pretty sure he wasn't on the on the rubber either.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Right, same thing.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Yeah, No, we had I take the line, the offensive
line because we all sang the seventh inning stretch, I
believe later on that day. But we went the pre
game beforehand and it was, yeah, it was. We had
a great time. Dude, There's nothing. There's That's the thing
I actually I think I missed the most about playing
is like you miss the hang with the guys, but
more importantly offensive lineman because offensive linemen are the greatest

(18:12):
human beings in the world. They are like offensive linemen
have the best perspective and mentality and are the most
selfless people. And like I miss that, man, Like being
back around offensive lineman is like the greatest thing when
you can catch back up with those guys, you know,
good dads, Like they're like good coaches on like their
kids teams.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
They're just the best, no doubt, Oh lineman. Yeah, they
are pretty. They're touched too, though, they are definitely touched people. Man,
Why you just never forget get it. I'll never forget
when I hit Kareem McKenzie with that that I ever
tell you all the story about how I went to

(18:55):
cluck you chicken, that I get you, dad, I never
told you. I never told you guys the cluck you chicken.
And uh So I went down town and they had
they had, you know, the different sauces, and the one
sauce was so hot that if you could eat, if
you could eat them, you get your name on the wall.
You got get you know, your wings for free or whatever. Right. So, yes, so,

(19:18):
and I was like, hey, man, put put two of
those inside a you know, am I to go? I
took it to go dips. I like, give me two.
Put put two of those in there, the goat dips.
So I go back to and I knew it was
going to be an old lineman that that wanted to
like take them from me. I knew it. So I go.

(19:39):
I get up to the dorm that to die in
Big Ring. Kareem McKenzie was like, oh, man, like them
joint smell good, like you eating them out. He's like leftovers, right.
I was like, yeah, leftovers man. I was like, I
don't know. I think I'm gonna keep on me. He's like, no, no, man,
you know gave them gave him the box, and I
ran in my room and I locked. It was two doors.
It's the front door to get into the sweets, and

(19:59):
then there's your door to get into your room. So
I locked both doors because I knew what was going
to happen.

Speaker 9 (20:06):
I was.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I was scared, but I was. It was so freaking funny, right,
And so next thing, you know, two minutes it was closed.
Did I did I get dropped? Freaking right? I was close.
It was close. Anyway, Like two minutes later, you hear hell.

(20:28):
Next thing you know, you hear boom, boom, boom. He's
he's not gonna stop. He was gonna knock the doors down.
He was gonna knock both doors down to get you know,
he was hungry.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
So he smoked them.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
He smoked them, broke you know, he took them things
in the room laughing. I would laughing. I couldn't stop laughing.
And then when I had to open the door because
he was literally gonna break the doors down. So I
opened the doors and he's beating me up, and I'm
so busy laughing, I can't even defend myself. He's just
punching off and.

Speaker 9 (21:02):
It was like a.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
She maasically pepper sprayed him.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
He couldn't breathe.

when things go wrong, the costs can hit hard and fast.
That's where home Serve comes in. Regular homeowners insurance usually

(23:18):
home Serve now and you should too. And do you
want to know why use it? Because it wasn't that
long ago. I didn't have home Serve and all of
a sudden, Hey, what's that leaky faucet over there? Hey,
what's that next thing? You know, we've got water on
the floor, We've got floorboard damage, all of it. And
it would have been helped tremendously if we would have
had home Serve back then. But you can help protect

Speaker 1 (24:22):
That's why we have a brand new podcast called over Promised.
You see, we're having so much fun in our two

guy is over promised in things we never have time for.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Yeah, you blubber lit lame and me.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising.

Women for years.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we

arguing about something or we didn't have enough time, it
will continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 11 (24:54):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored. By
the way, maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
There you go, over promising. Remember you could see on YouTube,
but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with Cadino and

(25:46):
right now we welcome in our smooth operator. He's the
one and only Pete Prisco, senior NFL columnist or CBS Sports,
CBS Sports HQ analysts. You can get him on x
at Prisco CBS. Good morning, a.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Right, Pete, Pete, how you doing? How you doing Pete good?

Speaker 9 (26:07):
I'm good, I'm good. Brady Brady called the game an
NFL game.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yes, yeah, you love it.

Speaker 9 (26:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Do you know what Pete and the guys do at
CBS this. They sit in a room because they have
well actually I guess we can figure out which room
that is, but they sit in a space where they've
got all these different TVs to watch the games. And
then Pete used to be Jamie Eisenberg. I assume Jamie's
still in there.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
Oh yeah, he's in there.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
So they sit there and they basically turn on whatever
game they can to listen to to make fun of
the analyst. So I used to sit and then I
would sit in there. I'd order subs for everyone, And
that used to be the old, the old Sundae habit
that we would kind of do around the show. Is
that accurate?

Speaker 9 (26:47):
That's pretty pretty pretty good, Brady, But you left out
a couple of details. There were sometimes when actually the
company bought lunch and you ordered one hundred and twenty
dollars sandwich.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
One time, it was like, I mean that was like
four year years ago.

Speaker 9 (27:00):
Well, I mean it was like.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Sandwich.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
It was it was like thirty bucks because they up
charged for like gluten free bread, which I'll never do
that again. That was a mistake, and then I got
double meat, which they charged like another eight bocks, like
basically for gluten free bread and extra chicken or whatever
it was on there. It was like fifteen bucks.

Speaker 9 (27:22):
And don't forget about the gold flakes yet put on
there for an extra.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Hey, look, you know what Pete said. Pete said that
that's life in Biden's America. So anyway, let's.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Oh wow, ye are Hey Pete. I want to just
ask you that because I was reading something on on
social media and I was just wondering if you'd like
to go in amongst other things on social media, but
I saw this quote memo it's okay to punt and
kick field goals. These guys are out of control. Learn

(27:57):
the game, all right. So you were the author of that,
would you like to expound on what sent you over
the edge when it came to action in the NFL.
I'm assuming this is referring to the Sunday night football game.

Speaker 9 (28:11):
Well, no, it's an all day thing. By the way,
it's an all day thing. And you know, look at
you look at what at the end of the Dolphins game.
It started in the morning. Why the hell when you
kick a field goal? I mean all you do is
late in the game you kick a field goal and
you take the lead. Why can't you kick a field goal?
It made no sense to me. So there's one. Then

(28:31):
throughout the day there was a bunch of them, and
then you get to the night game and you got
Dan Campbell going for it five times on fourth down
and not getting it. You know, if he kicks those
field goals a he might win the game. And then
you have at the end of the game Skiriani with
his patented push push, put the damn ball. You can't

(28:52):
give him the ball in that situation. So that that
set me over the top. Idiot, A idiot, b and
then across the board idiot through the alphabet because they
all have no earthly idea what the hell they're doing
something of game management?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Pete, I want to ask you the Rams saless, great game.
What'd you take away from that one?

Speaker 9 (29:10):
Oh, there's questions about Sammy Darnold again, there's questions about
sam Donald again. I mean, it always bubbles to the surface.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
We know it's there, and so you can't have one
bad game before you pull it out like you are
of that guy.

Speaker 9 (29:32):
Well, no, look, yeah, you get one bad game everybody
gets one bad game, but that was atrocious. I mean,
those weren't like guys making great plays on interceptions. He
threw the ball into the mid section every damn time.
It was awful and it was a terrible performance to
two picks. And you say, Okay, well it's a bad game.
Bad game four. I mean, and that's two weeks, two

(29:56):
years in a row. The Rams have gotten him like that,
by the way, because they got him in the playoffs
last year, so I'm concerned he didn't play that well.
But having said all that, they were still a chance
to win that game, and they boughted the clock management
at the end of the game with their timeouts, and
you see how they handled it.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
They almost took You want to know who.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
You want to know who I blame for that. I
think Sean mcvay's trying to get maths Matthew Stafford the MVP,
because if you would have given the ball to Karon Williams,
that game would have been close. At one point, he
was averaging like nine or ten yards to carry and
they just stopped giving him the ball because they wanted
to have Stafford throw it around a little bit.

Speaker 9 (30:32):
Okay, they botched it. But then at the end of
the game, the Seahawks boxed it too, but they completed
the pass with forty seconds, but they had two timeouts
in the pocket, didn't call timeout, let the play clock
for They cost him about twenty something seconds. They almost
took a time out back to Seattle with him. That's
how bad it was. And so but you know, the
Seattle defense was really good on Sunday against that passing

(30:53):
game and they kept them in the game. But that
was bad. Look for Sam Darnold. Now he's got to
go out there in another big game and prove it
because that's the that's the m O on him. Brady,
you can't deny that that the big game comes, the
big moment comes. And he turned to the Sam tunnel.

Speaker 7 (31:08):
Dude, call that Dave yesterday. As soon as Cousin's got it,
I kept thinking about you, and I'm thinking, like, is
this a big moment? This is Pete sat to himself. Oh,
he's got to drive his team down to get a
field god to take it overtime.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
Can he do it?

Speaker 2 (31:22):
It's a big moment a Cousins delivered. He got him
leased into overtime. Wasn't that bad?

Speaker 4 (31:26):
I guess he wasn't good.

Speaker 9 (31:29):
Brady, he wasn't Kirk Cousins was not good on Sunday,
and and the Falcons have major problems and it looks
like you might have change coming there. I mean, let's
be real, a lot of people thought that team would
compete for the division title. They've gotten worse. Now. The
flip side of that is, I'm gonna say this, Bryke
Young played really well. He was he was good on Sunday,
and he threw for a ton of yards. But he

(31:50):
was He looked like a quarterback who could stand in
there and make plays and make throws, and he did
a really nice job. The inconsistency is what drives people crazy.
And I think once if he could become goodball, you
think it's just as hell.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
I mean, let's hold on hold. So this is what
I said earlier. Who outside of Ted Ronald McMillan, is
he throwing to.

Speaker 9 (32:12):
Baby again? A nice touchdown pass on the sideline yesterday?

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Yeah, off the sideline that Bryce dropped a dime on
a go ball, which by the way, happened to be
a versus a kid who is getting us first start
in the two year career. That was playing for two
other starting cornerbacks. We're both injured three technically with the
other guy in practice, and the.

Speaker 9 (32:29):
Falcons can't and the Falcons can't tackle either. So that
helped add into the Arders numbers. But look, I get it,
but Brady, he had gone into that game with one
game over two hundred yards passing one.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
I get it. I also think it's tough when you're
trying to rely on a rookie wide receiver to be
your number one target and that's maybe your only consistent target.

Speaker 9 (32:49):
Do you do you think he's good?

Speaker 3 (32:51):
I do?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I actually think he. Here's the problem is is for
someone like you, you look at the Josh Allens, Patrick Mahomes,
Lamar Jackson, and we can all do this. We can
all look at the and go, oh, they're phenomenal, like
we get it, like everyone everyone could go. John always
got a strong arm, like we get that Dandy Marino
best armamt Like that's all easy to see. He he
has these intangibles and little things he does really well

(33:13):
where he's able to help this team win football games.
Do you know he's got like nine game winning drives
on like twelve wins during his time. They're like it's
not like they're like ever, you know, playing in these
like blowout games, like the first matchup was a blow
because of some pick sixes. But you know, you go
back and look at it, like they're playing in a
lot of tight games and he kind of tends to

(33:34):
figure it out and just like Deliver. I just think
if if he was thrown at Jamar Chase and T. Higgins,
for example, his passing numbers would probably look a lot better.
That would be my guess.

Speaker 9 (33:45):
Well, I mean you could throw Jamar Chase and T.
Higgins to anybody in their passing numbers would look a
lot better.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Okay, Well, but that's what I'm saying is he doesn't
have that, so the numbers aren't going to look quite
as good when you're relying purely on a rookie and
you've got guys kind of flowing in and out of
the lineup. They's just it's it's tougher than you think.
I think to make that go and to make that work.

Speaker 9 (34:04):
The quarterback apologist has arrived, and here he is, Brady Quick.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
I just love how you're a heightist. You're holding it
against Bryce down that he's smaller in stature.

Speaker 9 (34:15):
No, no, I'm not. I just don't good. I think
I think he's average. I think he's averages as as
he can be.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
I just don't think what you see his average. I
think he does some other things really really well. That like,
but he was appreciated.

Speaker 9 (34:29):
It was really good.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
It was really good on Sunday.

Speaker 9 (34:30):
I gotta give it to him. I mean, and the Falcons.
I mean, does the falcons tackle anybody? I mean that
that's that's the tight end. I mean, bremble.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Yeah, where did he come from? What school did he
go to?

Speaker 9 (34:41):
The He went to Notre Dame Brad.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
That's right, he did, Pete, That's right, he did.

Speaker 9 (34:46):
Pete.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Woo woo, Homer, go ahead, you were in there. No,
you jumped in there. Go yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
I mean, y'all love Pete. I'm gonna let you. Oh,
come on, good answer, you ask your question. Jeez, I'm
just sitting here spectating, all right.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
So, Pete, your thoughts on the situation that Kansas City
Chiefs find themselves in at this point in the year.
It looks like the division's out of reach and now
they've got to go on a little bit of a
heater and even make a playoff.

Speaker 9 (35:21):
Spot they're gonna have to go in a real heater.
The division's gone, They're gonna have to They got to
reconcile the fact that they're probably gonna go through the
wild card and go travel and have to win games
that way. But having said that, you look at their schedule,
it's favorable, and I think they can get on the run.
It wouldn't surprised me to see them win every game
starting this week against the Colts. And that's a good
Colts team, but you got a desperate Chiefs team, and

(35:43):
so I think that's a problem. But they're gonna have
to do it differently this year. And I worry about
their pass rush. Where the hell is it? You know,
they Chris Jones and Carl Aptus and all that group.
Where's the pass rush? They don't have one right now,
and I think that's a concern for me going forward.
You know, again, offensively, the quarterback wasn't great on Sunday.

(36:05):
Let's be real, you know, if sometimes we just sit
here and we praise him and we praise him. We
praise him because he is a great player. But there
were moments on Sunday where you looked at it and go,
what was he doing.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
What is he doing?

Speaker 9 (36:16):
Like the interception, what was that? You got to get
points there? You can't give that away? And you know
the free runner on the corner blips, he's if I'm
not mistaken, Brady, that isn't that an idea on the
protection that he's got to identify and that him was
a free Yeah, so that's on him too. So there
were a lot of moments where you looked at it
and you said, that's not the Chiefs team we've come
to see on you know, this late in the season

(36:38):
and going into the playoffs. So but having said all that,
I do think their schedules favorable and they could turn
around and rip off a bunch of games and get
into the postseason.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Pete looking at at some of these teams, like a
Kansas City Chiefs team or you know, Baltimore got the
win yesterday, but it was pretty pretty close. I'm just
curious and looking at some of these traditional powers. I mean,
I feel like the Broncos made a statement in that

(37:08):
game against the Chiefs yesterday, and then you see some
of these other teams and what they've been able to do.
Do you see there being a shift taking place? Possibly?
You know, we generally see the same teams be dominant
and end up in the playoffs and end up in

(37:29):
the Super Bowl, But it just seems to be I
don't know, maybe other teams are starting to kind of
pop up to be better teams. I mean, we're sitting
here and God forbid that we can continue to do
it further into the season. But we're talking about the
Chicago Bears are winning, the New England Patriots are winning.

(37:50):
And what the Patriots they don't even look like that,
you know, it's a first year team. They look like
they're poised to go try to win a championship. Do
you see there being a shit if taking place right now?

Speaker 9 (38:02):
Well? I also think some of those teams, including the Patriots,
are taking advantage of the soft schedule. Kudos to them, though,
I mean, but here, here's the thing. The two best
teams in the AFC right now record wise are the
Patriots and the Broncos. And we had one of our
guys run the numbers if they played. Based on the data,

(38:22):
if the same Buffalo went to Denver or Kansas City
went to New England, who would be favored And both
those teams, Buffalo and Kansas City would be favored, and
so that tells you something about where we are with
those teams. Do you do you let me ask you this,
those two teams, the Patriots and the Broncos, are the
two best in the AFC. Would you stake a claim

(38:44):
to say that either one of those teams is going
to win the Super Bowl this year? No, Brady? No? Yeah.
And so that's the point. But defense is really good
in Denver, and I think Drake May and the defense
is pretty good in New England. So they're gonna be
tough outs. But I still think ultimately we're gonna get

(39:05):
to where Look, the Ravens played a bad game on Sunday,
but you know they're coming. You know they're coming, and
they're gonna get to the postseason, and once they get
to the postseason, they're gonna be as dangerous as anybody.
And you know, the Bills are gonna be as dangerous
as anybody in the postseason, and if the Chiefs get there,
they will be too. So I still think we you know,
right now, it looks that way, LeVar, but I don't

(39:26):
necessarily agree that that's what's gonna happen. We get to
the postseason.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
I got you Uh, Pete, we appreciate it. We're up again, Stipple.

Towns loved his childhood car that his mom drove, so
his girlfriend went on a three month mission. She found
the car, had it shipped to them, fixed it up,
and had it ready for him.

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
