Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Keek Lee obviously had concerns
about his CT etcetera. He had was banged up in
that way as much as anyone, it seems in the league.
Every time you watched him play, when he would make
an amazing play, it would be wow, wow boy, I
hope he doesn't get hurt the next play that was

(00:23):
in the back of your mind. I applaud him, not
because I want people retire from football, but because he
felt like it was necessary and he had the guts
to do it. Because it's unconventional, it doesn't feel like
a warrior. But to me, it sounds like it was
best for him. And I think we're gonna see more

(00:44):
of this because again, once you've got the money, how
much are you willing to sacrifice? Any closing thoughts guys
on this one. Jonas anything anything, I wasn't surprised by
it at all, Um, and when this is happening now,
I wasn't surprised by Andrew luck Um. I was and
surprised by Keikley. When you saw Keickley get carded off
the field a couple of years ago, and he was

(01:05):
literally crying after getting a concussion and He looked like
he was genuinely scared about the state of whatever his mind, physically, mentally,
whatever was going on. He looked genuinely scared. It just
seemed like maybe he wasn't for long in the league,
had a great career, probably a Hall of famer. Just
based on where he's at now, all of his credentials

(01:26):
would would seem hall of fame worthy. But nothing about
it surprised me at all. You bring up an interesting
point is the fact you're saying he seems hall of
Fame worthy means another two good years he's rock lock solid,
and he's saying, no, that's nothing. That's not as important
as this. So now I will say this as an

(01:48):
Andrew Luck skeptic critic. I just it's more I hate
how much the people in the tank for him, how
they are calling car. But the after the matter did
that come out? Sorry? Sorry, sorry, I was trying to
hit the cop button real quick. But the fact that
is calling in his love, I mean calling in his

(02:10):
love for Andrew Luck is one of my great agitations
in life because it's really like you might say you're Lucky.
It's like, all right, I am, But think about it
when Andrew Luck gut drafted, and the talk was, it's
John our way and Andrew Luck. If you were a
hater of his, let's say he stole your girlfriend in

(02:31):
high school, brad or something, and you thought, how, you know,
what can we hope for here? I don't want him
to be, you know, debilitated, But what can we hope
for for he's a disappointment? You would say, well, retires
before he started, you know, not in the league at
age thirty, zero super bowls, zero Super Bowl appearances, and

(02:58):
last half of his year a general disappointed, or half
the last half of his career a general disappointment, even
with regular season performance. It'd be like, wow, that that's
too much to hope for. Isn't that exactly what happened?
But and then finally saying and then him ending his

(03:20):
career where in a way that the case could be
made that he lacks heart. Now we can debate that,
but the case could be made if you love the game.
And this is to me, this is different. If you're
saying I don't want a chronic injury by definition for

(03:42):
the rest of my life, that makes sense. If you
say I don't want a head injury, that could affect
every aspect of my life. It makes even more sense.
But with Andrew Luck, it was I'm tired of fighting.
Wasn't that the pitch at the end. He tired of rehabbing,
battling injuries and all, Yeah, I'm tired of it. Wasn't

(04:05):
no great concern about chronic stuff. It was I've been
banged up and I'm sick of it. I got my
golden car and my rocket, my rocket car in my
golden house, as they said him the Simpsons, and I'm fine, Hey,
I respect he's right to do it. Congratulations. But if
a six year old marriage an eighteen year old girl,

(04:26):
I respect he's right to do it. I'm not gonna
celebrate it necessarily. I don't want to celebrate that. A
very rich guy who disappointed his fan base and his
performance his career was a general disappointment to decide not
to play anymore so late in the preseason. His team

(04:47):
couldn't recover for this year, and a whole year got wasted.
And we can debate some of those points, but they're debatable,
and the fact is people were afraid to debate them.
Amard omar, don't scare and Luck bailed on a team
that was a contender. They were supposed to win ten games.
What a contrast, Luke Kikley is leaving a Carolina team

(05:09):
that's in full rebuild. You know, Fez, that was amazing.
You actually brought a great point in. You gotta wonder
if Carolina was on you know, nine wins next year playoff?
Does he play one more year? Be sure to catch

(05:29):
live editions of Straight Out of Vegas weekdays at six
pm Eastern, three pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the I Heart Radio app so r J. It took
long enough, but the Cleveland Browns have found their next
head coach. He has already been intro introduced, and it's
Kevin Stefanski, the former offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings,

(05:50):
now the headman in Cleveland. Listen, Fez has been chomping
or champing. I think chomping. I know it's really champing,
but it's like amping at the bit. It's like, oh,
that guy's a little too intellectual for me. No, no chomping.
I don't know the difference, Fez, go, Conflict is coming
in Cleveland. I think you have that sentence planned. Yes,

(06:13):
conflict is coming in Cleveland. We could have had production
around it and stuff its defense loves to pound the rocks.
So he takes over for the Vikings December two thousand seventeen,
and he re emphasizes the run. Last year, the Vikings
number four in terms of the run rate that they utilized.
This did not go over well with the Viking wide receivers.

(06:35):
Remember Diggs, Oh, I want to be traded, I want out? Well,
when was that with Digs early in the year? Early?
And he took over last year? Right? He took over
in two thousand seventeen, December two thousand, December two thousand eighteen, Yes,
and took over and talking seasons and still calling this
this season. Right, So even though it's over for the Vikings,

(06:57):
it was last season that he took over, yes, correct, Yes,
And the complaining happened this season. Correct. So you're saying
it won't necessarily be immediate. But even Diggs, who didn't
have the Rappers much, you'd say as an O b
J for being uh locker room trouble guy at all.
And THELAN also expressed that he was unhappy with his usage.

(07:18):
So if Digs and Thelan are unhappy with your head
with their usage under their coach. What's gonna happen when
he goes to Cleveland. It's the fancy guest to deal
with Beckham and Landry who were yelling at Freddy Kitchen
seemingly every game at the end of last season, not
getting the ball enough. I gotta tell you, Jonas, what
do you mean as a hottake guru? What do you

(07:40):
think of that one? That's pretty good. I think Fez
has got a future in the weekend overnights. That's the
kind of stuff we do. That's the kind of stuff
we do. I gotta be honest. Uh, the suits don't
have the money for that one. I don't think. I mean,
let me just say, like this, faz I, I want
to give you kudos. I haven't heard that. So my

(08:02):
first thought is, if somehow you see O. B. J
Has traded, you're probably happy about that, right, meaning if
you're a Browns fan, meaning if you find out ultimately
that with this higher they decided, hey, we are going
to get rid of O. B. Jack because we see
this problem even before Physik saw it coming. It would

(08:27):
be a good thing. It'd be like, oh, okay, they
did see it. But if they come in what you're
telling me is if they come in to next season,
next even the preseason with the current lineup of DIVA
wide receivers trouble in Brownsville. Yes, be sure to catch

(08:49):
live editions of Straight Out of Vegas weekdays at six
pm Eastern, three pm Pacific. This is new and no
one's acting like it's new. It's new. The champ chips
are being decided by cheating. We talked at length yesterday,
I'm rjbol Straight out of Vegas that if the rules
don't seem to be connected to justice, people don't take

(09:10):
the rules seriously. I think that's what happened in this case.
And I think if Baseball can do anything, what they
need to do is say, here's the rules when it
comes to what could affect results, and if you mess around,
the consequences truly are going to be strict. Whatever those are.

(09:31):
It doesn't even we could go through hypotheticals. I thought
it's fascinating though about speculating did it affect things or not?
The outcomes is if you actually look Washington New Houston's
reputation this World Series, and they had very advanced countermajors

(09:54):
to try to stop their signs from being stolen and
they want to close series? Isn't that interest? And won
all four games in Houston, which is a great point,
and I mean it's like, okay, they're cheating. In seventeen
they win. Now refreshed my memory Houston in the World

(10:16):
Series that was that wasn't like a blowout, right, that
was a clothe That was a series where there was
this let it ride better? Right? That went seven so
literally one game swung it and oh the cheating team won.
And then the next year that Red Sox series, how
long did that go? All? Right? So not as close,
so maybe you could make the case. But then the

(10:39):
question becomes, hey, would you know, would the Red Sox
even have made the World Series without this kind of cheating?
And obviously the Yankees are yapping about that, and I
think rightfully so, to be honest. And then the year
that it's become known within the game, lo and behold,

(10:59):
the cheating team loses a close one. Maybe it's a coincidence.
And also if the Astros were so well known in
their cheating that Washington had countermajors, do we think no
executives in baseball what knew about this? That it was
just the teams that knew. Yeah, I find it very

(11:19):
hard to believe who broke this story. Uh it was
a former pitcher um and his name is slipping my
mind right now, but he was. Uh, it was. But
it wasn't Baseball itself. It wasn't the organization self police. Now,
it was a former pitcher, Mike Fryar's who went and
talked about it and spoke out publicly about it. So

(11:40):
do we have any doubt that multiple that that did,
Commissioner Manford, No, I don't know. My guess is yes,
if I had to guess. But then it's like, well,
we're taking this very seriously now that the press is
reported on it. So to me, this is just so much.
It's hypocrisy powered upon hypocrisy. And then you think of

(12:05):
someone like Clayton Kershaw, how his entire career is put
in a different light because of his playoff under performance,
his failings, and the question becomes, how much of the
two World Series we're affected by this? Good? All right?
Careers are being put in a different light. What kind

(12:29):
of re evaluation do we do with the Astros hitters,
however good we thought they were, if we had known
the Astros had used a cork back. All of them
had this special advance NASA developed cork back. Would we
react with this kind of like, huh, they were pretty strict.
Five million, that's a lot of money. You ever try

(12:50):
to make five million? Come on, five million? I was shocked. Well,
that is supposedly that that it was that much. Was
that little Well supposedly that's in the franchise that they
can't the league can't find a team more than that.
So coincidentally, they can't really punish them financially. You know

(13:11):
what you can do. You can take that freaking title away,
all right now, I know that's messy and the rings.
Make every player get back the ring, and if they don't,
they're suspended for a year. I thought you would say,
syan physic afterward with a knife that too, I mean,
that would work too. I think that would get the
point across. Guys play for those rings. They want the rings,
they want the jewelry, they want to show them off.

(13:31):
Make them get back the rings, vacate the title. Fox
