Speaker 1 (05:09):
All right, good job Rich. We move on to the
second category. It's called steal the victory, not steal the victory.
Steal the victory. You have five seconds to name an
NBA player who's on the top twenty five for most
career steals in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Of stars.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
There's a lot of stars on this list top twenty

it's between Russ and Covino. Cove Go, Larry Bird. Yeah,
number eight.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
You were thinking that too, Russ. All right, Russ got
five seconds to stay alive.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
How about Alan even though he doesn't play defense?

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Nope, not.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Last one standing? Is Covino in that round?

Speaker 2 (07:22):
Chris Paul, Chris Paul. Yeah, number eleven. Yeah, that was
all right. We got a rush into the third category.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Here, Pippin number two, your favorite Broadway show? Oh no, Scott,
all right, laundry leaders. You have five seconds to name
an NFL team who led the league in most penalties
between the twenty twenty three and twenty twenty four seasons.
Going to take the top sixteen and Covino you're up first.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Got your Raiders. No, they've cleaned up their penalties the
last couple of years. This is such an arbitrary list.
I love it. And Hitch the New York Jets number one,
number one, number one, Low and Crown the Jets. Sorry,
the Cowboys, the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Cowboys, Cowboys. Yes, third on the list, all right, Russ
Cleveland Brown, Yeah, number two, number.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Two again arbitrary. Philadelphia Eagles, Eagles, what are we coming
off at?

Speaker 4 (08:25):
A said twenty five fifteen? It cuts off their that
I can't.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Tell you Eagles are Eagles on this No, I lost
my count now.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
No, Eagles are not all right, So it comes down
to Low and Kron and Russ.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Then am I next? Yes? The Bears, Yes, nice.

Speaker 8 (08:47):
Rushbeans, Texans yes, number four?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Nice Low and Crown, the Buffalo Bills number six.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Back to russa Falcons, Falcons.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
We got to bonus round.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, Russ is the last one standing, all right? All right,
so three way tie Rich Covino, Russ quickly to the
fourth category.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
That's a bonus five. Five is the bonus.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Yeah, deepest of the deep is this category. You have
five seconds to name a Major League baseball team who
led the league in homers last season. Gonna take the
top fifteen, all right, and Russ, you are up first
in this category.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Got off Yankee Yankees.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yep, yes, Sir, Lo and Crown, Dodgers, Rodgers number two, Yeah, Rich, Bravos,
the Braves, yeap number one.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Con red Socks, red socks, not on the list, Nath
sorry sorry, Cove, Russ, Dodgers Dodgers taken three A.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
Lot to Astros, Yeah, Low and c Phillies Phillies right

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Rich, Rich Orioles, Uh.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
No, there are two teams under the list. Sorry about that, Russ.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
How about Toronto.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Blue Game.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Jays?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
No, just.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Mean Low and.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Low and Krawn. Shame on you for not saying the
Mets the last one standing. He's the last one somebody?
He only won?

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Low and Crime. Did you get one round or two?
I think I just got that one right? Yeah, So
it's a yeah, So you've got to go to the
tiebreak category.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
I've never had to pull up a tie breaker. Crazy crazy.
By the way, the Mets, I guess just based on
Plazzo and Lindor alone, right.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
But guys, we don't have time for them. We don't
have to do the tie break on the way back.
What about that tiebreaker?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Hold off the phone, Rush, Covino and Rich on Fox
Sports Radio. All four of us still standing. One more
bonus round. What we're gonna do is what we do
with the trivia games. Closest guess without going over price
is right, Barker, Yes, and Russ and Florida you.

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Ready, Yeah, I'm ready for that.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Okay, all right, four way tie all you guys, your
name is your buzzer. You just buzz in for who
wants to go first?

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Here we go, Hi, everyone will get a guess.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, everybody's gonna get against. If you want to chime
in first, go ahead. Well we'll take it, okay, but
you got to hear the question first. Two.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Russ the Great Emmett Smith played in seventeen playoff games
for the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
He leads the.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
NFL with how many total yards rushing in the playoffs
seventeen games? Seventeen games? Give you a second to think
about it. All right, who wants to go first? Buzz
in with your name? Rush, Let's give us your guests.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I'm gonna say eighteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yards, eighteen hundred even, okay, I'm gonna go rich here,
one thousand and six forty nine. Okay, all right now,
I haven't written down. I wrote down one thousand and
eight to fifty, So okay, Isaac Lowen crows one dollar.
I'm gonna be such a jerky you can one thousand,
eight hundred and fifty one.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Oh wow, ladies and gentlemen. Em it's Smith rushed for
a total of one thousand, five hundred and eighty six yards.
We went over, but the closest, the closest is Rich
one thousand, thousand, six forty nine.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Rich is the big winner for last one standing.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
No, no, hey, I came out with that number. I said,
a little under our one hundred yards per game, So
I'm guessing the average about the averaged what ninety five
yards ninety three point three, so you're gave the benefit
of he.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
Had a few hundred six and the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
What a baller he was in the playoff. Hey, Russ,
I appreciate you there in Florida.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Hey, since Russ over time, would you be able? Would
you guys be Okay? If I decided to make the
call and say I want to give Russ a swiggy,
he held his own, Russ, impress Russ, I want to
send you our swiggy. Okay, buddy, just trying to gain
nice guy points because everybody knows he's the villain. It
does hold water and he does the irrigations.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Mets fan, I guess you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
You know, it's saying like one good thing I'm bet
fan could do thank you, uh Russ, you played a
great game. Hold on, we'll get your info. Get you
that CNR, Fox Sports Radio, Swiggy. Now, two quick things
I want to get to. I was saying, I said
if I want, I need a GREETO and I was saying,
greetel please, thank you.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
We need a c.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
That's it. You don't need a second. First off, thank you.
I want to give everyone a reminder. Then a quick
NBA no reminder. Next Friday, May seventeenth, we're gonna be
in Eugene, organ at the Graduate Hotel doing our show
live from two to four pm West Coast and then
four to six pm hanging around for a happy Hour party.
So if you're in the Eugene Organ area Portland, I

(14:12):
know it's a good hour to hang out. Two hours away.
Get to Eugene, Oregon next Friday the seventeenth. All the
details will put on our Conveni on Rich social media
at Covine on Rich. I be part of the live
studio audience. Can't wait to see it perfect. Let's have
a drink, you chop it up Eugene. And now let's
talk about tonight's games. You got Pacers Knicks Game one

(14:34):
Timberwolves Nuggets. They're up. The timber Wolves are up one
game to none. We're seeing a star merge when it
matters most. Anthony Edward's actually playing like Michael Jordan, who
is kid. That was Oh, that was the comparison. And yeah,
I mean it's unbelievable to see because you saw how
dominant the Nuggets were against your Lakers, Danny, to see

(14:54):
someone else make them look human, it's pretty cool to see.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
And he's doing it for Lebron, which is kind of cool. Yeah,
that is cool.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
All throughout the NBA season, we talked about Anthony Edwards
because of his highlight dunks and he's got next, He's
the next big star in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
And Danny before the show, Danny pointed out, like, it's
cool when you see these are the moments, these playoff
series where stars emerge, stars and stars, and you've seen
two of them in this playoff series and it's Anthony Edwards.
And let me tell you, I went back to New
York for the first time in maybe six months, and
there is a Jalen Brunson. Brunson is the man. They've
embraced him. They love them. I asked Knicks fans and

(15:28):
I'm friends with, Like, yo, you need you guys need
one other piece. They're like, yeah, but not the star.
You think they really believe that Brunson's the dude so
could be the biggest star since Ewing. I agree, I
bigger than Alan Houston or bigger than Spree. Well, like
I do, think Brunson's bringing itself for a more reason
to tune in tonight see two young dudes at the
height of their game. Nix and Nuggets, both five and

(15:51):
a half and six and a half point favorite. So
Vegas is saying Nix and Nuggies home teams win tonight,
we shall see fresh off a pretty sweet NBA night
second game, more of a surprising blowout. Like, Yo, these
Tea Wolves mean business, Danny G you hit me up
with that meme where going into the postseason the tea Wolves,
or as Monzi calls him, the Wolves.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
The Wolves, the Wolves?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
He Timberwolves? Yo, Isaac, do you call them the Timberwolves? Two?
Do you pull the Manzi? No? I love Moncy, but first,
I've ever heard of the Timberwolves. No, not the Timberwolves, Moncey. Yeah, yeah,
so you said going into the playoffs plus eighteen hundred
in Vegas to go all the way. Yep, that number has.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Shrunk to.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Plus three hundred. Insane.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
They think they're going to run the table. Well it
looks that way now.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Look when you got the Timberwolves playing that big against
the defending champions. It goes back to something I always
say when it comes to fights. Styles makes makes fights, right,
Stiles makes games. It's the matchups. Man, It's so cool
to see a great team look vulnerable. It's so great
to see competition at this level. Look rich and I

(17:07):
are casual NBA fans, but we are glued to this
because we're seeing young stars playing big at the biggest moment.
It's fun to watch Styles make games. And the Timberwolves
got this figured out at least in the moment, unless
the Nuggets fix something or make some sort of adjustment.
In the most simplistic form, I'm though NBA insider, but

(17:31):
the narrative was to stop the Nuggets, you need to
throw big men at Jokic, and that's exactly what Minnesota
is doing. And Danny, don't think for a minute, I
didn't think, Well, the te Wolves are out to like
a fifteen to twenty point lead, I've seen this before.
They were gonna come back. I've seen this before. But
the Tea Wolves didn't take the foot off the guests
like unfortunately the Lakers did, or you know, couldn't keep

(17:52):
it well.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
And besides the size that the Wolves have on the bench,
and they have a hell of a bench, they're also
more athletic than the Nuggets. And that's saying a lot
because look how athletic the Nuggets looked against the Lakers.
So Coveno's exactly right about the matchups. But when you
look at the star power of these youngsters, like the
twenty three year old Anthony Edwards, dude's shooting over fifty

(18:14):
percent and he's got a hell of a jump shot.
Usually that young there's lots of high flying and duncan,
but the SHOT's not there yet.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
This kid can.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Shoot, playing big when it matters most. And Rich and
I have a theory that if you watch a documentary,
you're watching movie, and after that movie, your documentary or biopick,
especially you're on Google looking things up. You know it
hit you good. Like if you watch a story on
Netflix or Hulu or whatever it is and you go

(18:42):
to Wikipedia just to find out more about it. You
know good it got you. It was a good movie.
When you watch Anthony Edwards play, you're searching his stats,
You're doing the research. I'm checking his contract. I'm like,
when is he done? Where is he going? Caveno's first
thought was how long does he have with the Tea Wolves,
because there's gonna be big market teams that want to

(19:03):
snag him. But he's locked up for a while. He's
twenty three. And if you're in Minnesota, if he's locked
up till twenty twenty eight, you got some good couple
of years ahead of you. They were frustrating the hell
out of the Nuggets last night. I mean so mad.
People are throwing heating pads on the floor. Yeah, don't
be a sports baby like Jamal Murray.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Okay to that really quick cove, I should point out
he doesn't turn twenty two in or twenty three, rather
until August fifth.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Dude, that's insane. So yeah, so he's still twenty two.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Strop induces twenty two. It's insane. My good, I'm double
that guy's age. That's wild too.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Also, why there's rumors that Lebron is really his daddy and.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
He could be my son if I won't, maybe he
can't be my son. But that's why I was looking
up his age and his contract for yesterday with Danny G.
Because he's been so complimentary of avenging and defending Lebron's honor.
I was like, well, what are the chances of them
teaming up in the future, because what an honor would
be for him, and that would be a missing piece
that Lebron would need to move forward and get another championship.

(20:04):
And I was like, well, by that shows God he's
got to be done and Lebron's not going to Minnesota.
He shows Lebron so much respect. But I agree with Cavino.
There was a sentiment of like, he respects Lebron to
the point where, oh what, what are both their contract situations?
That's why I was looking yesterday. But just playing so
big and again, styles make games. I know I'm stating
the obvious, but it's so apparent when you see how

(20:26):
they match up against the Nuggets, because the Nuggets look
unbeatable against Dannyg's Lakers, but now they look very vulnerable.
Now they look human. Rich gave the analogy of when
Ivan Drago started to bleed when Rocky cut him Mary's like,
I fight for me. No every cut him and he's
like he's human, He's human. They're making the nuggets look beatable.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, and he's got some MJ mannerisms. We've joked on
the show before about how Michael Jordan might Papa need
a DNA test.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
You are the father, you are the five of the
show was saying something interesting and I want to take
it to this angle for a second. Cavino. You were saying,
is there anything else in life that you could just
turn on your interest level? Because the w not the WNBA,

(21:18):
the NBA the regular season, it's like it's watchable but
not must see TV. Ever. Really, it's amazing how we
could go from casual viewers of the NBA to fully
invested with no team in the race like this. I
think that's a testament to the NBA pushing their star power,

(21:38):
you know, because we know these players so at least
there's some sort of connection or familiarity. We know them,
we hear about them, we see them on highlights all
the time. And I think there's something to be said
about what Big Mike runs his place. We were talking
about it before the show. It's like I could watch
some hockey playoffs, but I'm not as invested as I
am when I'm watching NBA playoffs. Why is that? Is

(21:59):
it because we played as kids? Is it because you know, yeah,
we picked up a basketball and we know what it's
like to shoot around. I never got on ice skates
in my life. I'm a Guido kid from New Jersey.
What do I know about hockey?

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Not a whole lot.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah we got the Devils, Yeah we got the Rangers
and the Islanders, but I never played hockey, never played
in my life. Is there something about the fact that
you played it as a kid growing up because or
is it the star power of the NBA that we
relate to. I don't know, but Rich is making the
point we were talking about how I don't know there
anything else in life where I could go from sort
of into it to completely into bedroom activities I've always

(22:37):
been in. You could be like sort of tired. If
wifey leans over and is like, hey, you could go
from I'm tired to like, yep, let's go. That's like
the NBA playoffs to me having sex with my wife
and the NBA playoffs same things.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Let me tweet that out on the official FSR account.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Somebody quote that, think about it, you're tired as hell
after Anthony Edwards gets me excited rich but not that.
But what I'm saying, if your wife gives you, a
girl gives you a little nudge when you're like half asleep,
you can wake up pretty quick. You go from groggy
to now, let's do this, ready to go. That's to me,
But it is the NBA playoffs. I can't say I
go from zero to sixty because I care about the NBA,

(23:14):
so you know, I don't know anything else that I
go from thirty to sixty as fast as I do
with the NBA, from like casual to like man, I
am so glued, like I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
For tonight to watch the game.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
I almost, to be honest, I almost feel guilty, like
I'm a front runner, but I'm not rooting for a
particular team. I feel like a guy like Danny g
who watches every Lakers game must be like Lucre's guy care.
I got another theory though again I said familiarity. I
said star power of the players, we're familiar with them.

(23:45):
But how about the fact that, I mean, clearly the
games mean that much more so you're seeing a whole
different level of intensity. But you're actually seeing teams play
defense too, defense, right, I mean, that's a big part
of it. So you're sitting there as if you were
like damn, and that brings the excitement, like you can't
turn away.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, and even if your team loses in the first round.
The meme, the other meme I sent you guys this morning,
the uh the picture of the guy beating on the
other guy and he's got a Wolve's logo over his face,
and one getting beat is the Denver Nuggets logo, and
there's a photographer just laying on the grass taking a
picture of the scene and the Lakers logos over that guy.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
So, honey, Well, the reason we were talking about this too,
just a side conversation before the show, is one of
our buddies, Donnie Pompadou, who listens to our Patreon show.
He's like, how come you guys will get fired up
like this over hockey? And it's like, well, I mean,
I don't know. I was trying to figure that out.
I'm like, is it demographics? Is it again? The fact
that when you're watching NBA everybody's represented. I don't know

(24:48):
if it's just more worldwide in that aspect, right, Like,
I don't know, there's no Blacks, there's no Asians, there's
no Latinos in hockey. I don't know why there's a
bigger reacher. Uh, there's a there's a few black players,
a few d yeah, but a handful. But I just
feel like the NBA and you can say hockey is
a global sport. Is I know what you're saying. And
I could say I could say this. I can say

(25:08):
this because I'm Russian. It sort of throws you off
when you see all these random dudes with names that
have it seem like they're lacking a few vowels, and
you're like, who is this guy? When you can't pronounce
anyone on a roster's name and you're not a big
hockey guy, it's hard to sort of casually watch. Well again,
I'm stretching rich because I'm trying. I was really trying
to think, well, why is that? Is it because we

(25:29):
played basketball kids, you never played hockey, never played hockey.
I don't know, but I'm gonna I'm gonna say no,
it's the next level of intensity, the games matter and
star power. It's got Disney, NBA it's not that because
those things exist in the NHL as well. You're just
not connecting intensity. What's more intense than in Game seven
in the NFL. You're not connecting, Danny G. You're not connecting.

(25:50):
I always say, I'm you connect that much about it?
I don't think so. Uh So there's a reason.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
And I've tried.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
I was trying.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
I've tried. I've tuned trying to figure that out. A
lot of different NHL playoff games. I try to watch
the Stanley Cup. It's it's just you're right, I'm not
connected to it. I didn't play it growing up.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
So, Danny G, please understand why I'm even bringing hockey
into this. No, I'm glad you did that. Okay, somebody
else asked me about this.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
We get so much criticism because we're casual NBA fans, right,
but then we come here like, dude, did you see
that game last night? And we're so pumped about it.
It those people off like you guys don't get pumped
about hockey like that, even playoffs, and it's like, well,
look we watch I don't know.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
So I was just trying to really die deep.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
The last time you played hockey was playes. No, it
was Nintendo hockey. We have to choose if you want
the fat slow guy, the skinny fast guy, or the
medium guy.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
That was a great game.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
What do you go? Two medium guys won, skinny one fat.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
That was the Yeah, two medium, one skinny one fat.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah. So no, you're right.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
It's an interesting time on the sports calendar because once
the NFL Draft is completed, then most of the headline
on TV and sports shows are NBA playoffs and and
it's weird because when we were all in NFL mode,
rarely would there be an NBA headline that took over everything.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Interestingly enough, the NFL is King, it's Lord, it's you know,
president dictator, and the NFL rules the sports world after that. Listen,
I'm self aware. I'm a baseball guy, but I know
that people don't want to hear me talking about Pete
Alonso all the time. I get it. Baseball just doesn't

(27:33):
have the same It's like when Richard make fun of
me for talking about chocolate Tito, how was his go to?
Like when it came to me talking about boxing, Nobody
wants to hear about chocolate Tito. Yeah, because CIV you
don't always be like, yo, this we can chocolate Tito Lopez.
I'm like, who cares? I get it. Listen, you don't
think you don't think I have thoughts about Brandon Nimo
yesterday hitting a you know, a game winner for the Mets.
I just know most people like, yeah, rich, you care

(27:55):
red Brandon Nemo. Baseball America's pastime takes a backseat to
the NBA right now. The NBA, you could say, hockey
has the same intensity. But there's something about the NBA playoffs,
the way it's packaged, the way the stars step up,
the way the coverage, whether it be Steven Ay or
Shack and Chuck, you know, like it's it's just really good. Again,

(28:16):
that's star power. You could say, like, what about hockey.
I don't know those guys the way I know these
household names in the world of the NBA. I do
friends that are in New York and they're tickled pink
right now because they got the Knicks and the Rangers
both sort you know, in a great spot on it.
If it gets you fired up, that's great, man. So

(28:36):
I'm not dissing on hockey again. That was the question
that was posted to me early, and I was trying
to really figure it out. And I'm not trying to
bring race into it. I'm just saying maybe that's what
lacks appeal to some people. I don't know, I want
to tell you why. I I could see that being
a possibility, But then soccer doesn't hit over here in
the States, and that represents Latinos, whites, blacks, Asians.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Because we got American football's got in the way of it.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
But if you watch the NBA right now, we're watching
young players changing of the guard. Anthony Edwards, Donovan, Mitchell,
Brunting what he's doing in New York. People owe the
Knicks a I was wrong because when they got Brunts in,
people like laughed about it, like that's their big get.
He's slaying it. Tatum Sga maybe the most underrated guy

(29:22):
in the Western Conference. So right now you're seeing these
young players emerge as something really fun again. Also basketball
moose quick it's two hours. Maybe there's something, there's something
we're forgetting. But yeah, there's gotta be a reason why
NBA playoffs just pop. And I just think it's so
amazing to see these young players again stepping up on
the big stage. And the Timberwolves the timber Wolves making

(29:49):
the Nuggets look like that. Tell me the Nuggets didn't
seem invincible, dude. They seemed invincible and unbeatable because the
Lakers had to play perfect just to compete. And then
the timberwol shut him down to what that was the
lowest scoring they had all year, eighty eighty points.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I kept imagining our boss Scott watching too, because he
is a lifelong Timberwolves fan.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
He was probably smiling like mister Miyagi.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
He and other Wolves fans have gone through years in
years of mediocre teams and bad teams. So to finally
have a team do that to the champion, this would
be a good time for all of us to ask
for a race.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Let me tell you I didn't want to text our
boss and text him right. I did not want to
text him because I didn't want to jinx it because
I know Denver could come back now. I didn't want
to be a cass Scott, how about your tea Wolves,
knowing that at any moment Denver could step it up.
But you know what, from Minnesota fans, not just our boss,
and we got a lot a lot of friends and
listeners up in the Minnesota area, a lot of affiliates

(30:45):
there too. We did a live broadcast in Minnesota and
we were shocked how many people showed up. So I
know we have a lot of friends in support in Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Dan Madden showed up. They haven't Gary Guy Eddie was there.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
They haven't.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
Ken Her was there. We shared wings.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
It wasn't.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
That long ago.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
It seems like that team was dominating, but it is
eighty seven and ninety one, those two World series of
the Twins. Besides that, there's been a hell of a
lot of sadness between the Vikings, the Tea Wolves, the
Twins just not really producing winter. So if you're a
Minnesota sports fan, enjoy this for as long as you can.
As Billy Madison one said, stay here as you can.

(31:27):
And if anything, guys, what we want you to get
out of our excitement is if you're a casual NBA fan,
we'll be tuning in, but you gotta be tuning in
now because we're seeing these young players really step up
and it's exciting to see. And if you're already a
diehard day to day fan like Danny g Meaning watching
every game all the time, then you know exactly what

(31:50):
we're talking about. But the other point is I can't
think of many things. Rich gave one other example, and
that's bedroom activities. Now that takes us from thirty to
sixty as fast as the NBA Playoffs. You could be
cruised around and be like, well, I'm excited. The only
other thing besides the NBA Playoffs is, like I said,
when the wife or your girlfriend gives you a nudge
late at night and you're very sleepy, and she seems

(32:13):
like it's go time. Oh yeah, and in case my
girlfriend's dad's listening. That was Rich's example, not my example. Yeah,
your daughter, your dory Len, Your daughter is dating a dud.
He is. He is the most prude laime O I've
ever met. So watching Lenn He's watching Sports Center while
your well, your daughter's sleeping next door. I'm watching Chuck
Latito Gonzalez highlights. So is there any other examples? By

(32:37):
the way that you're so cavalier pun intended about you
know that gets you excited out of nowhere the way
the NBA playoffs does. Is there anything else you could know?
You care about it casually, but then all of a
sudden you can turn it on and be so fully
invested an example, I'm trying to think maybe if you're

(32:57):
a casual golf fan master Master's An, you're like, oh,
locked in. There's a lot of people like that with
fighting too, Like, yeah, I don't watch boxing, but if
it was like a big Tyson Fury Deontay Wilder fight,
or back in the day at Tyson fight or Tyson
Jake Paul coming up in July, people are.

Speaker 9 (33:13):
Like, yeah, boxing's fixed. Whatever, it's rigged. It's who are
these people? The judges suck, It's fixed anyway, Boxing's corrupt.
But then when there's a big fight like Tyson, they're
glued in like they're the biggest fans of all time.
And I understand it because it brings that level of excitement.
Our buddy Sean hit us up listening on the iHeart
app out here in La said, I think a lot

(33:33):
of it has to do with the little exposure hockey gets,
and maybe for good reason.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
He's a big hockey guy, know yeah, But dude, if
it got big exposure, then you know people would be
tuning people. People aren't tuning in on that level for reasons,
he said. In basketball, you see it all over social media.
Social media and basketball have a pretty good relationship. That's
a point. You go to TMZ Sports, you guys, you
always say you go to Boss Up. You go to
all these websites. There's drama. NBA's got got people with

(33:59):
Murner account in craziness. Name one hockey player. There was
one hockey story that was sallacious and it was that
guy Connor Bedard whose mom might have been sleeping with
one of the other players. That's the only time we
were like, oh, there's a hockey story. Great story. So
I mean, like, that's that's the proof in the uh,
you know, hockey pudding. And by the way, to make
it clear, that doesn't mean we don't watch the the

(34:20):
big games in the n each oln. Of course we do, dude,
let me tell you. But I'm telling you these NBA
games are bringing it. I went to my first you know,
I've been in LA for over five years now, and
I went to my first LA Kings game this year.
Is a hell of a lot of fun. I had
not been to a West Coast hockey game. It was
great at what is it now, Crypto Staples, what do
they call it now? Yeah Staples and dude, it was

(34:44):
the hell of the time. I was right there by
the glass. Fun to watch a guy slamming against the
glass right near you. Rich put him on the glass,
like sir mix. I felt my cheeks on the glass.
It was weird. But no, it just I think hockey's
missing something. I don't know what it is. But hey, NBA,
that's Rich to really figure it out, NBA, NHL, enjoy

(35:05):
your playoffs again, Eugene Oregon. Next week, we got I
loo Isaac with an update in a second. But I
want to throw this out there. We're gonna get to
Walker Mueller in a few minutes. Bueller. He returned, Guy returned,
Danny g You must be pumped. He got someone on
the staff back. Hell yeah. And the offense is on fire, yo,
your boy Otani. I got to ask you because no

(35:27):
offense angels fans. When he was buried in Anaheim, you know,
with not a lot of press. Now he's down here
in Los Angeles. Is it fun watching him day in
and day out. It's so fun.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
It's to the point where you almost kind of forget
the great Freddy Freeman's on the team.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
By the way, dude, it's it's such a great question, Rich,
because people who love sports the way we love sports
understand but not everybody understands that. There's a difference between
seeing the highlights and knowing someone's a great player and
then watching them every day and watch the impact that
they have. And that's how I feel about Wan Soto.
You know, I wasn't that excited about Wan, so I

(36:06):
told you you shouldn't be when you watch this guy
day in and day out, though you see the excitement
level he brings, the way he plays, the way he
plays big, the way he's a difference maker in the games.
There's guys that can put up big numbers, but they're
not difference makers. Wan Soto every day is a difference maker.
So I can only imagine what it's like to watch
Otani on that level every day and be excited about it.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
And I was listening to the game yesterday evening on
our LA affiliate AM five seventy LA Sports, and to
hear that crack off Otani's bat.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
I feel like he has a microphone attack.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
It's weird.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
You hear that a lot, obviously when you listen or
watch baseball, but it is twice as loud off Otani's bat.
That's not that's not real audio but that's we miked
up his bat yesterday. Yeah, no, if we do, if
we have time, let's play that call from the home
run yesterday. It sounded crazy up and we'll.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Go to Ilo. We'll get an update, We'll talk a
little Otani for a second, and then I have a
dumb observation about the NFL and astronauts. I low. We
talked about this yesterday.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
You were here.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
We were curious whether or not Giselle watched or one
of her friends was like, Giselle, You'll never believe. Apparently
she was in Brazil helping out with the natural There
was a lot of flooding going on, so here she
has been a do gooder in Brazil and she's getting
all this word. Did you hear what they said about
you briendud it Ron Burgundy collor?

Speaker 6 (37:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I mean, is it fair that outside people take the
shrapnel from Tom Brady's roast? She didn't ask for that.
I'm not saying I was offended. I'm just saying is
it fair? Because it seems that all fair game if
it's packaged in a dish track and a roast. Is
we established yesterday? But ever keep in mind Covino, no
one made fun of her. All the jokes are at

(37:55):
Tom's expense. True, dude, what did they say about the
jiu jitsu guy and her and their bedroom activities? They
didn't mention anything like that, but making stuff. It was
never I don't think there was mean stuff said about Youse.
I think it was all mocking, mocking Tom, like you know,
she left you essentially.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Yeah, I didn't think it crossed any line. You have
to have a sense of humor. But it's still what
they did fresh for a little bit by the host.
They didn't even talk about the kids.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
I think it was all right, you know Danny uh yeah,
But but for argument's sake, I don't care.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
I thought it was great. Yeah, it doesn't matter what
Danny g thinks, matters what Gazelle thinks. That's the children.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
But you know what, she's not in charge of entertainment
in the USA.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Let me tell you this. But she's a public figure.
I'm the league leader, not asking to be talked about
like this. You know how Altani's the league leader in
home runs. She's never entertained me. You know how Otani
is leading the league in homers. I lead the league
and bringing up Kavino's divorce. Yes, I mean by by
a mile, So let me bring it up again. He's

(38:59):
a the Nolan Ryan of it. So Cavino is very
respectful and because she's the mother, not because I care
about her, for me personally whatever, that's tough to look
back on. But she's still the mother of my kid. No,
but I'm saying some people are overly respectful and borderline
walk on eggshells where other people get divorced and like,

(39:21):
that's my ex f them. And I think Tom is listen,
when you have the money that Giselle and Tom have,
you could be bitter. Why do most people fight after
a divorce, money, custody, all the things that regular people
fight about. They don't fight about those regular things. So
I think Tom's sort of like, whatever, what are you
gonna do to me? I'm Tom Brady think of it

(39:43):
that way.

Speaker 4 (39:44):
Well, again, that was the story, Thank you, Loan cron.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Well, let's hear the crack of Otani's bat and then
I'll tell you why the NFL and astronauts are involved
in the same story. I have here, Uh hit it?
I was Sam to two pitch Now to Otani. He
swings and hammers it deep center failed way back in
gone tie game. Showy Old Tony putting on a show

(40:11):
early in the ballgame.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
Here's the eleventh home run the lead major League Baseball.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
It is two to two in his zone for sure.
Man nice, that was pretty majestic. Someone said, you know
who was it was Master Bo the You know, yeah.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
He's a Jedi.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Now he got his master's degree. Yeah, Bo, one of
the editors here. He put on his Instagram stories. See bow,
I look at your Instagram story, he said. Dodger fans
are starting to love this. Like when Otani hits a
home run, that swing, it's like it there's like a
cute little skip involved in it because he's got that
swing that a lot of Japanese players have. So with
that power swing, he almost has a little skip. Did

(40:50):
you notice the skip? Watch? I like when he does it.
When you do it, it bothers me. Not good? All right?
You know what coming up? I'm gonna tell you about
the NFL Draft and Astronauts. You're like, what the hell
is idiot talking about.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports radio
dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to

their sport and all the interesting interactions along the way.

Yeah, covin on Rich is this sports radio two in
a room? Is that who sings wiggle it? Dude? When
he says, as it grooves, you feel the tension in
the air, and now y'all HiPE sprockets, it gets me
so hyped. I'm not even kidding. I want to do
the running in right now.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
This okay, do it?

Speaker 2 (42:15):
You getting down because the sound is just youll tight
do it. Rich says there's no wiggle room, but we
say wiggle it just a little bit, shake it, don't
break it.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
It took him out of nine months to make it.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
Cold and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, we got Iowa
Sam on the ones and twos with wiggle It. We
are running super late. We got to get it too
midweek major real quick though. Sean hit us up in
Southern California. He just had to wrap up that last conversation.
Could NBA players play in the NFL? Could NFL players
hop on the NBA court? He goes, forget all that,
try to put a pair of ice skates on any
of them. Hockey is the most specific sport, and then

(42:52):
tell him to fight fighting. Yeah, that's you go to
a hockey game, You're like, man, these guys are moving
so fast on skates and doing skill right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
And for the soccer fans who listen to our show,
talk about a lot of running.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
Yeah, those guys cand have taco bell every night and
brought it off fave Zones. We are live from the

(43:26):

forget we got that happy hour party afterwards from four

doing the same exact thing the following weekend, May twenty fourth,
tenp Arizona. So we'd love to see there. Bring some
friends again. We're Covino and Rich. Details at Covino and
Rich and your thoughts on the whole Austin Rivers comment

(43:48):
about football players and basketball players continue there at Coveno
and Rich. But it's time Midweek Major.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
Covino and Rich get you over the middle of the
week mid Week Major Major.

Speaker 6 (44:03):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
I love that we throw sports and pop culture headlines
and topics at the fellas and it's like the kids.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
Say, that's som We definitely leader to see it.

Speaker 3 (44:13):
Our score mid Week Major oh.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
Remix because we're running late.

Speaker 4 (44:22):
When you hear the horns come in, that means you
know we have made it to the middle of the week.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
Before we hand things over the number one host and
only host of the segment, we are gonna roll the
big red Love dice in the main studio.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
This is to see who gets first.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Take nine. Baby Gravino got nine. Now Rich roll within
an eleven. Yeah rich first, all right, and.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Now ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person from Scotch Plains,
New Jersey besides Judy Bloom Spotty boy.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
I love how I prep all day and only get
to read one story.

Speaker 8 (44:54):
If you finally got around to watching the greatest roast
of all time that Netflix throws to Tom Brady, your
experience be a bit different than those who watched it live.
A few of the moments, apparently from the live stream,
we're edited or adjusted for replay, most notably Kim Kardashian
when she was introduced by Kevin Hart got tons of
but if you watch it now, when she the announcer,

(45:17):
she walks up and just starts talking, there's no booze.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
What gives.

Speaker 8 (45:20):
But some of the other awkward moments were kept in,
like when Brady jumped up about the Robert Kraft fa
The Aaron Hernandez thing was left in, so who knows
if they'll continue.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
Editing made make I'm sort of torn, but I gotta
say week week, I'll tell you why we're rewriting history.
I don't like who people do that. It's like Alicia
Keys hit a sour note at the Super Bowl halftime show,
and when you watch the replay, they fix the note like,
that's not what happened. Kim got booed. Love it or
hate it, it happened. So I don't know why we're

(45:51):
adjusting it Netflix. I'm not feeling it. I think it's
weak when it's not weak at all. Oh, but it's
not mid. So I'm just going with major by default
because the whole event was major. It was live at
aired live. If you missed what happened live, that's on
you because it was live. So if they have the
option to edit it up for your viewing pleasures later on,

(46:14):
they clean it up. They make it shorter. It was
three hours long. Oh is it sort of make it bearable.
They did that with the Chris Rock special to the
aired live He flubbed the line they edited.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
So then, but not booing somebody that'd be like, you know,
Roger Goodell always gets famously booed.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
It's endaring, that's part of it. Why are you going
to take out the booing of Kim k.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Look, it wasn't you yelling stuff. That's just she's best
of He cuts out all my bad jokes. You'll miss
that joke later you get a better product is cleaned up.
You have the option. You had the option to see
it live. You chose not to. There you go, all right?

Speaker 8 (46:50):
Uh to Travis and Taylor news because we get that
every week. Actors and singer Jana Kramer rich, I know
you're a big fan of her. She's super hot, getting
some flak for comments she made about Travis Kelcey on
her podcast wind Down. She had some skating comments about
Kelsey's partying ways and drinking, saying that he drinks way
too much. He always seems drunk whenever she sees him partying.

(47:11):
He just always seems drunk and thinks that he's gonna
be a bad influence on Taylor, saying that already she
feels like she's drinking more since they started dating. Kelsey responded,
it was the greatest thing. He's like JOHNA who had
no idea who Jonna Kramer is. And I believe he
has no idea why she's even chiming in on his
life Midweek or major dude.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
I think she's super hot, and with all due respect,
she's been divorced three times and she's like thirty or something,
so it's like a it's like a fat trainer at
the gym. You taking advice from that guy? What does
she talk about relationship? Stay in your lane? You don't
even know him. I think it's weak. Yeah, I think
it's weak too. She doesn't know the guy, and it's
on her podcast. It's like, so she basically said it

(47:51):
in her basement and everyone's making a big deal about it.
And we all know podcasts are like opinions go on.
Everybody has one oka much like her opinion, it thinks, So, yeah,
why should Kelsey pretend like he knows her? No offense.
She's a good looking girl, she's a great actress, But
who cares what she thinks about his relationship? True? Or him?
All right?

Speaker 8 (48:11):
The Indianapolis Star columnist who had the awkward encounter with
Caitlyn Clark a few weeks back. Remember you made that
like hearthands thing like, I hope you do that to me. Well, anyway,
he's been slapped with the suspension the team Greg Doyle
gave him, or they gave Greg Doyle two week suspension
from the Star. He's returning next week, but apparently he
will not be attending any of the Indiana Fever games

(48:33):
over the summer and he'll just be reporting on it
from his home watching them on television. So he's still
gonna be doing his column, but not attending any games
Midweek or major.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
Is that a reward? Oh, it's not not going to
the Okay, I'm sorry, mid dude. Those guy's assignment is
the Indiana Fever until Katelyn Clark was on the team.
That seems like a punishment, like he blew his one
chance to be part of something relevant. This guy's a bozo,
but I sort of feel bad for him. It's a

(49:05):
mid story. He's really weak because he was part of
the weakest in the na Fever Press and now he
finally has a chance to be part of something cool,
part of something big, and he blew away. They're being
a little hard on him, they are. This is so weak. Yeah,
I think it's very weak because it's way over punished.
He was awkward in the moment, but he apologized immediately.

(49:27):
They made a big deal about him. I think they're
really overprotecting her at this point, and she's gonna have
to deal with a hell of a lot more than that.
And they're suspending the guy, or not suspending a guy,
but they're not letting him cover for he got here
two weeks suspension and he doesn't get to do live
in games.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Yeah, coverage.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
That is lame.

Speaker 8 (49:43):
Week more quickly because this is so sad the Oakland
A's as they plan their move, fans are just abandoning
the team left and right. Stats have been released regarding
fan attendance. Apparently current attendance is about six thousand fans
per game, and they released stat's saying that five hundred
and fifty three sports teams in US based leagues are

(50:04):
averaging more fans per home game, including this is such
so said, three indoor football leagues, two college wrestling teams,
a professional women's volleyball team, thirteen minor league baseball teams,
eleven minor league hockey teams, and the list goes on,
and the.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
LSU gymnastics teams because of Libby done.

Speaker 8 (50:24):
Because it's just so sad. And there was a poll
put out by a Vegas tourism in account apparently like
fifty to sixty percent of people don't even care that
they're moving to Vegas.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Maybe I'm gonna I'm gonna say it's a week on
behalf of them? Can you did you see? I think
they're five hundred again. They won today and there's a
lot of memes saying, are they the real life Cleveland
Indians when the owners in the movie Major League tried
to lose?

Speaker 4 (50:47):
Yeah, they're just below five hundred, just below.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
One game below. I think it's Super Week because that's
an organization with a lot of great history. Ay, think
about the nineteen eighty nine team, all those big stars
that played in the late eighties, Bash Brothers, Dave Stewart,
Bob Well Show, all those dudes, they had some great histories.
To see where they are now. And it's so sad
to think that the Savannah Bananas probably have a bigger

(51:09):
turn on that way by far than the Oakland Athletics.
It's about time they rebrand them, sent them in Vegas.
People will show up for them.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (51:17):
Sacramento is the biggest winner in this. They're the most excited.
And if we had a baseball team in southern California
with a crappy owner and we knew they were moving away,
we wouldn't go to the games either.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
That's true by the way they do, and they's are
doing better than the Angels. And in the last place,
Houston Astros, who knew, Thank you, spot, Thank you. Let's
go to Ilo Oza Glowing Crawlem. What's up about right, guys,
I have a crazy new detail about show. Hey, Otani
and I have a quiz. Finally, we have a boxing
story for you too that involves the quiz. There was

(51:50):
a famous trailblazing female professional boxer during the nineteen nineties
named Christy Martin. You guys remember her ye first woman
boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated, first
woman boxer to be signed by Don king Well. Deadline
Hollywood reports a new biopic about Christy Martin is in
the work, So I want the two of you to
guess who will be portraying Christy Martin. I know, I know,

(52:12):
I know, it is all right, go Sydney sweet you
all right? And about those things like Sugarte entered, that's
a movie quote. I hope you guys know.

Speaker 11 (52:30):
Okay, you Sam, I think you have to dump yourself.
That's from Liar Liars. On that note, Isaac, thank you more.
Next com you don't rich on Fox Sports Radio. A
very New York team daven Chance. Oh you know this

(52:53):
team Brunson playing like a beast. What a team maybe
that nineties night squad, maybe that.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
Nineties next team with Ewing and Starks and Mason, and
maybe if they just had one Guido, maybe if they
had a Divingenzo. Seriously, someone to bring the freshman Todelly.
He's playing big and you gotta give props to them
making it exciting, especially as East Coast dudes who have

(53:20):
been waiting to see an exciting next team for years. True. Now,
speaking of basketball, Jo Kich wins his third MVP in
four years. You could say he could have won all
four years, but didn't props to him now. Immediately when
they announced it, before I saw the press conference and

(53:40):
everything else, I saw boring report. I mean bleacher report
say that even when he wins the MVP, he's bored.
Yo Kich even bored when he wins the MVP, and
the headline was I'm kind of used to it, so
I don't pay attention, like not that thrilled. But he's
not faking excitement either. And you us on to say

(54:02):
more and we'll explain, but I want you to start thinking.
Fox Sports Radio Nation eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox at Covino Enriched hit us up on social media.
Do you like or dislike the honesty? Do you like
or dislike the reaction? And like, what do you want
them to fake the excitement? Well, that's what I'm saying.
This is not a shtick. What Jokic does is not gimmick.

(54:24):
Part of me is like, yeah, fake the excitment. You know.
It's like when you buy your kids something for their
birthday or Christmas and you spent a ton of money
on something, or you bring your kids to Disney, whatever
the case may be, and they like not showing any excitement,
and you're thinking, like, come on, kid, show me a
little something. Do you buy your wife or girlfriend a
holiday present? And you're not getting the reaction you want.

(54:45):
It's like we have two hours on the radio. Hey,
some shows are better than others, put it that way,
but you got two hours to bring it. Even if
I'm having a crappy day, yo, I have a teenage
pain in the ass. I mean daughter. You think every
day is sunshine and rainbows for me, Give me a break.

(55:07):
I got an ex wife and drama with her, and
I got annoying neighbors just like everybody else. Can I
give you one other thing that annoys you on the
regular I'll give you three lefso I got rich. She's
got me. It bothers me to the high heavens. Well,
I was gonna say, man, sorry, I was gonna say,
h O, way, I got an howay nightmare? No, I

(55:30):
pay like almost eight hundred a month and they do
Jack Didley squat.

Speaker 4 (55:34):
You should see my common grounds. They're terrible.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
This is my nightmare. I'm like, I pay that much
for this for what. So Anyway, my point is, you know,
sometimes I'm not in a great mood. Then e g
you see me. I don't even want to look at anybody.
But I got two hours, so you know what I do.
I'm not saying I fake it, but I put myself
in a mental space. Then I'm here to have fun.
This is it. I gotta step up. It's like Derek

(55:58):
Jeter used to say he might be bad example because
he's a boring kind of guy, at least he was
back in his playing days. But he said, look, I'm
here to play baseball. I'm gonna give it everything I got.
Some kid could be seeing me for the first time,
I believe. Mickey Mannols also famously said that some kid
could be seeing me for the first time today, I'm
gonna give it everything I got for the two hours

(56:19):
a day that we do to show rich even if
I feel like ashtreeks, I'm gonna give it everything I got.
I mean, Kobe had that same mindset with the Lakers, right, Danny.
So all I'm saying is, when Jokic is accepting this honor,
can't he at least have the wherewithal to bring it
just for that thirty seconds at the press conference? Maybe
you admire the the these true honesty.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
No, I mean by my very first program director in
a staff meeting, told all of us leave your personal
crap at the door.

Speaker 2 (56:48):
Danny. There was a sign in the first radio station
I worked at on the wall that said what you
just said? That must be like a radio thing like,
but I think it said like, leave your s at
the door, leave your ego.

Speaker 6 (56:57):
I like.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
I used to play soccer and used to say believe
right on top of the door.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
I remember that.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Oh that got ted you play? Yeah, I said believe.
What about when you were at Notre Dame he used
to tap that.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
Yeah. Yeah. I am not saying I want to make
it very clear, and then we're gonna go to your
feedback and vocals. I want to make it clear that
I'm not saying you fake the funk because I I
have problems smiling in pictures because I hate fakeness. Keivino's
allergic to fake it bothers me, right, so I feel
disingenuous when I'm being fake. It's not about being fake.

(57:31):
It's just about stepping up.

Speaker 4 (57:33):
In the moment, being in the living the moment. Right,
You're one of the faces of the league.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
That's all. Just show a little excitement exactly, Daddy, are you?
Are you gonna tell me that even if he's the
most boring personality type there ever was, he can't have
a little bit of fun in the moment. I find
that impossible. I find that impossible. I bet you he's
got more to offer than than meet st I. So

(57:58):
we're asking you do you expect in the fake excitement?
Do you like or dislike his reaction? And but I
have audio to prove it. But I like what you
said though. It's not a matter of faking it because
I I hate disingenuous fakers. What you're saying is rich,
Are you faking to your kid or are you doing
the right thing? When you're saying Oh, okay, buddy, that's
a great drawing, A great example when my kids, like

(58:22):
I draw a picture of Bluie. It could be the worst.
But what am I gonna say? What am I gonna
be happy? Gilmour? Those are the worst finger paintings? Wait,
what are you gonna say? It's the closest way I've
ever heard in my entire life. Hey, can't you see
dad's busy? You say that? Or you be like, hey, buddy,
you want to play with the claw? Great job. He's
not the greatest job.

Speaker 12 (58:43):
You know that.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Yesterday my son, my son takes his little gymnastics Ninja
Warrior class M and I'm like, trying to get something
done yesterday. Yeah, and he's like that five. I'm like, yes, buddy,
what's up? Ben? He goes watch this and like every
little kid, he just does like one little karate. Oh
what do I have to say? I was sam as
a dad. Well, buddy, you you like a little ninja.

(59:07):
You're the man, buddy, you gotta do that. So does
the joker? Does it rub you weird that he has
no enthusiasm? Don't like that? Do you like the realness?

Speaker 3 (59:18):
I do?

Speaker 4 (59:18):
And it's fun to speculate on, but I think that.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
It would just mean this what bothers me. Certain things
mean so much to certain people, and if let's say
someone else won, they'd probably be so pumped about it.
But he's so like matter of fact about it. Some
people win an Academy warder, an oscar or it means everything,
or a Grammy or something, and what they do they like, Yeah,

(59:43):
I don't even know where the award is. Other people
display cherish it, right, That's all I'm saying. So I
do respect his honesty. I do respect anyone who keeps
it real. But part of keeping it real is also
just bringing it when you have have to. It's true,
you know. And to me, I like that he's not

(01:00:04):
putting on a show for anybody. And I'm conflicted, but
I also think he could step it up and show
a little excitement. There's there's two clips. One is his
reaction and then the second one is my favorite one
because it shows how little he does care. I would
say I'm hit the first one.

Speaker 12 (01:00:22):
I think it's a legacy for the after the career,
and I think I'm gonna be more maybe proud of
myself after a career than I'm right now.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
I do like that. You know, he's in the moment,
right I'm look, not a time to celebrate, especially when,
by the way, the timing suspect because he's worse in
like all categories right now, three point field goals, well, everything,
not playing that well this series. It's bittersweet because he's
coming off of arguably one of his better seasons, but
less he's last series against the Lakers unstoppable. He just

(01:00:54):
had his worst two games followed by here's the MVP.
So he's probably a little little torn inside. And you
know what, there's a side story we were all discussing
with Danny g in our pre meeting recently that you know,
for a guy who's thinking like Abe Lincoln right now,
right now, two games, realaction.

Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
Yeah, I know, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
He's still not getting the criticism that other players would
have got in this moment had they been stinking like that.
Because we all have this belief that the te Wolves
are playing hot and perhaps the Nuggets do what they do,
I would be immune from that sort of criticism. And
by the way, we all like Joker, Let's make that clear.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
We do.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
But again, his reaction was so whole hum there is
humor in it for sure, But do you like or
dislike his reaction? Well, I like his I like his
reaction to whether or not his family would be on
hand to see him get the MVP.

Speaker 12 (01:01:49):
I didn't invite them. They to show up, So I'm like,
who who wants to drive like forty five minutes here
to get it?

Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
He was He was saying, I didn't invite them, they
just showed up, because I would have told my family,
what do you want to drive forty five minutes? Daddy?

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
It sound like rob Manfred, It's just a piece of metal.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
Why would you Why would you want to drive forty
five minutes to see you know that your family member
win the MVP forty five minutes trafficking third one. And
by the way, there's a difference between humble and boring, right,
so you could be humble like, man, he's won three
MVPs out of four years. That's amazing. Yeah, yeah, you know,
so not to take you can't take that away from him.
That's incredible, and it's best to let other people praise

(01:02:34):
you than say I that just proves I'm the greatest.

Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
We would hate that too if he was like bragging
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
But there's a middle ground of Man, I'm humbled and
this is a great honor, and you know, I'm really
happy to be acknowledged in this way, but we still
got business to handle. Like there's a way to do
it where you could show an ounce of personality, man
an ounce.

Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
I'm sorry, Sam, I was gonna say, my friend Anthony
lives in Denver, big Nuggets fan.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Was that game one?

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
He even admits, He says, look, I love what he
does for our team on the court, but he is boring.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
He's boring. Yeah, look in today's world, like, hey, we're
radio hosts, right, we can't just be radio hosts.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
We can't rich and I have a podcast, we do
a bonus show.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
We're trying to host other things all the time because
you got to you gotta offer more, you gotta do
social media.

Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
You can't just do one thing anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
In his world and in his game, yeah, of course
he could survive, survive and make millions of dollars in
the NBA, But we expect more from our superstars. Like
you said, Danny g as the face or the potential
face of the league. He doesn't he be great on
the court. He has to shine a little bit off
because he does have a little we want that. That's
why we criticize Mike Trout. But for him, though, he

(01:03:47):
has that you know, foreign mindset of the Cimer. This
is my job to s want more, no matter how
much you give of your personal life, right, don't people
always want more? They want to see what you have
in your fridge, They want to know him more. We
want more.

Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
I want more for let's see your house and poke around.

Speaker 13 (01:04:05):
Let me just say this though, there's something about Eastern
European players and he's Serbian. They're just they seem and
just like Eastern Europeans I've met over the years in general,
they seem more mellow like they're just kind of like
just like low key mellow, like I have a cigarette,
you know, just just relax.

Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Man, this he is right though. I mean, by my
that's a lot of my family. My dad's wife is
very rich, was never has my dad of a hugby.

Speaker 14 (01:04:30):
Maybe you guys talk a lot about Andrew Dice Clay, Oh,
do you want him to break that sort of character.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
And just be unbelieved. I do like that he stays
a character. I like his new stick where he goes
up to people like, oh, you want a picture. That's
just the thing, Dan. I don't want him to fade. No,
I don't want him to be this ingenuous. That's that's
the word I'm sticking with, ye. But I do want
him to show another level of excitement. I mean, we're

(01:05:00):
not just all one level of excitement, are we think
of Steven A. Smith.

Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
Sometimes you have Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
You have you have There's levels of a personality the fact, right,
there's levels of a person you see when he's like
the Knicks did it again, ah, and he's all sad
or whatever, and then there's levels of somebody dancing on

(01:05:28):
the cowboys grave. You're gonna tell me that Jokic has
one boring ass level.

Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
That's it. That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
And that doesn't make me not like him, that doesn't
make me not respect him. In fact, I think it's
incredible what's what he's doing. I wish that he leaned
into that little bit and just said, Yo, I'm honored
and this is really cool and you know, but again,
I'm still focused on the series right now, but yes,
what an honor. And I can't I can't wait to
look back and really take it in. It's just the

(01:05:56):
way in which he says it. Let's let's say what's
up to D in Florida? What's up D Coveno on wretch?

Speaker 5 (01:06:02):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
I'm the head of security out of middle school, and
my first principal told me one thing, no matter what's
going on in the crib, you have to turn it
on because these kids live, live and die watching for you.
They are you who you bring. So it's like, no
matter what's going on, you have to be the best
you you can be.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
That's that's not being fake, dude. That's the thing. I'm
with you.

Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
That's not being fake. That's just you turning it on, right,
That's all I think.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
This is his horses though. Yeah, my services do want
to go home, no parade. But that guy, that guy's right,
d is right because sounds silly, but you know, when
you coach a little kids, when I when I coach
kids sports, I could be having an annoying day. You know,
I want to strangle Spot or Caveno or you know,
just a long day. But those little kids are a practice.
You gotta like, hey, kids like you gotta you know

(01:06:54):
what am I gonna bring up? Bring a sour attitude?
To girls t ball. You can't got to step it up,
you know. And then again, of course I feel what
Dan Byer was saying too. You don't want him to
break the character. If that's who he is. I just
find it hard to believe he's that boring all the time.
But it's sort of like now it's reversing where it's
sort of like he's so over the top apathetic that

(01:07:15):
there's charm in that, like it's it's that's the funny,
Like it's he's a nihilist man, like from the Big Olebowski.
They don't care about nothing. Do you like or dislike
the reactions should he? I can't use fake because I
don't want anyone to fake anything, but exactly, you show
some excitement, a little bit your thoughts, and that being said,

(01:07:37):
that's our observation, just the minor criticism because in the beginning,
middle and end of the day, what he produces on
the court is what matters most, no doubt, and that's obvious, man,
And what he's doing is amazing to watch, and it's
almost underappreciated what he's doing because it's like, man, who's

(01:08:00):
the last guy who win three out of four years?
Like that you know, let me for one last look
caveat in there when it comes to the joker, based
on what you're saying, you don't want anyone to fake it.
A lot of times, whether you want to admit this
or not, you're compared to your peers at work, socially,
in the dating scene, you're you're you're constantly comparing or

(01:08:21):
being compared when it's not necessarily the right thing to do.
But the NBA is full of flash and personality and
social media and young guys that are dressing.

Speaker 4 (01:08:30):
With NBA kicks on and welcome personality.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
The NBA is personality. Plus.

Speaker 8 (01:08:43):
Everyone seems to be obsessed with this cup.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Incredible cup fans lining up at Target stores before sunrise
just to snag one.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Yeah, it is Friday. We're getting swiggy with it instead
of beef. We're passing out, passing out some positivity. There
we go, There we go. That's the word. Sports culture
is the title of this podcast review. Just go to
Apple every day where you see our podcasts Covino and Rich.
You'll see all the five star reviews, which is very

(01:09:17):
nice from all the listeners. Thank you for those.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
T Underscore Taylor fourteen writes, the mix of sports and
pop culture is seamless. I used to listen to these
guys every day on Serious XM Faction Talk.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Oh yeah, back that day. It is one of a
talk channels.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Okay, I miss this. So it's nice that Fox Sports
has them on every day. I get to keep up
with them while I'm at work. They're very relatable as
we're around the same age. See guys, he's sixty five. Also,
let's good, No you only look sixty four. Let's go Yankees.
He says, yeah, all right, tea underscore Taylor fourteen, thank
you for that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
I appreciate that. And can I just say, Danny J
that what we do here on Fox Sports Radio, it's
sort of what we always have done. Because I see
a lot of feedback, like we are these guys talking
about nonsense. Why don't they stick with sports. It's like
we've always talked sports and mixed it up with other stuff.
It's what we we've always done.

Speaker 1 (01:10:13):
Yeah, no, one topic should be one hundred percent. Yeah,
it's nice to mix it up.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Thank you man.

Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
All Right, this one says CNR. Simple title The Damned
from the Damnedest five Stars. If you want to laugh
and get updated on what's been going on in the
day of sports. This is the show for you. Now,
you guys can keep the cup. I just want you
to put a good word in with Monsey for your boy. Oh,
I don't trust this Sean character. Oh the day huh

(01:10:41):
the damnedest. You can still email me for a cup
if you want it, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:45):
And then the next one here from Eric Zee and
as so he's in Arizona.

Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
Man, come see us two fridays from now in Tempe,
he writes, super relatable and interactive show. All things sports
and pop culture are covered with fast pace. Yeah, because
we have Rich on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
Fast paced. I'll say this, coffee beans, I'll tell you this.
I get bored so easily. I'd like to pride myself
on if I even feel our conversation is getting tired,
I'm like, let's move along.

Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
I've always liked that because some radio NTV shows that drag.
Never that here, all right, he says, Also funny banter
from the entire crew, hands down the best in the business.
Been listening to c in R for almost fifteen years now.
I agree with this guy. That's his name again, Eric
z Z observes an award, thank you for this, And finally,

(01:11:33):
the Williams eleven writes best in the Biz. A lot
of sucking up here, five stars. These guys have been
the best in radio for the last twenty years. Glad
the world is finally getting to listen.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
Look at that. That's from Cavino's mom. That's one of
the oldest broadcasting jokes in the book right there.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
All right, if you had, if you heard, your review,
and make sure you write one, because we'll do this
from time to time. I check these every couple of weeks.
All right, go ahead and write a review. Put five stars,
write something like you just heard. If you think we're worthy,
and then email me. It's see our prizes at gmail
dot com. See us in coveno ours and Rich, see

(01:12:13):
our prizes at gmail dot com.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
You just want a swiggy and we appreciate it. The
swiggy is a wonderful stainless steel water bottle. It's nice
and shiny blue. Nice, says Fox Sports Radio on it.
Really cool, Thank you guy, nuys very.

Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
When we first got the shipment in and I brought
one home to my girls, she looked at it and
she's like, these are nice for a radio.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Giveaway, nicest radio giveaway and by the way, nothing better
than a nice little Friday ego boost. So thank you
for that. Thank you guys. You know what I wanted
to get into some weekend hobnobbin. What do you want
to go to? Dan Byer? First? What do you think? dB?
What would dB get on the freeway? Early? dB? You
need to head home traffics a little while.

Speaker 14 (01:12:54):
I appreciate that, guys, because I was getting a little
self conscious because not only did Covino say everybody's going
to Eugene while I'm sitting right here, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
With us in spirit.

Speaker 14 (01:13:05):
Then we have a review who names Mancy and I'm
the one that's here most of the time they're talking
about my replacement. It's it's like, you know, I love
that pitching staff and you only talk about the closer.

Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:13:20):
It's just like, what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Go down? You know? Where's the dB love?

Speaker 14 (01:13:24):
Yeah, there is no love like Shaq and Shannon Sharp
guys were getting some.

Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
Couple of months leading up to those summer games. Guys,
have a great weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Hey, Dan, you're not off the hook yet. I have
two quick questions for you, because I always need the
damn Bayer input. I heard you and Doug gott Leap
talking about the w NBA team in Toronto. W NBA
is a summer sport and Canadians really embrace those few
summer months where they can actually go audio season, patio season,
they can actually do things outside. Is that an automatic?

(01:13:56):
Is that an automatic hit in Toronto or not?

Speaker 14 (01:13:58):
I think it will be. I think it will be
a hit. But to have any sort of scientific research
on what works and what doesn't, I have no idea
the markets that I thought would be great for it,
or you know, maybe where it's the only show in
town or one are the only shows in town. Uh,
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You know, we were
talking about this earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
I heard Ia Sam say when the Raptors are in
the finals, they had all the signs, you know, we
are we are the North and all that, so maybe
the w BA catches on.

Speaker 14 (01:14:26):
He brought up to point that Detroit Shock went like
three titles, then they ended up moving to Tulsa a
couple of years later, and then Wings I'm sorry, go
ahead finished yes, Oh well.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
I was just never actually uh we never actually said
that on the air.

Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
For Dougs.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
No that that's that I was going to say. They
ended up becoming a franchise. They're continuing. It's a new beat,
gonna be ioa, Sam and Dampires, Damps, gonna go dish track.

Speaker 14 (01:14:51):
Perfat has done it too as well, Like where I'm
saying something, but then they just interrupt you or they
talk over you to get that final point in.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
I did the research, all right, so I can just
say it. Get on the freeway, leaves leave this, leave
this doing here with us. I love you Sam later dB.
Let's listen Weekend hob Namachelli live in for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
You're winning bets for talking points. If you get stuck socializing.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
You ever done anything dangerous? You ever dance with the
devil in the pale line?

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
Friday brings us Weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Hob all right live from the Tyrek dot Com studio.
What you need to watch in the world of sports
and entertained man. And I'm gonna kick it off and
say a lot of people are sleeping on this fight.
Well next week. Next week we'll be in Eugene, Oregon.
But that's also the weekend of the Tyson fury Usik fight.

Speaker 6 (01:15:40):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
This week Cambosis Lomachenko. Everyone talking, Garcia, Canelo, all the
other fighters, Mike Dythan in July, Cambosis Lomachenko this weekend.
Cambosis wants to retire Lomachenko once and for all, and
Lomachenko saying if he wins, he wants to fight Shakur Stevenson.
It's a title fight for the vacant IBF one thirty

(01:16:04):
five belt the strap as they say, so, I think
it's gonna be a good one.

Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
Cambosas Solmachenko. Are they the biggest names? Well, Lomachenko is
pound for pound, one of the biggest in the game
for a long time. Cambos beat Tiafimo Lopez. He's trying
to get back on track. Here's what I promise you.
It's gonna be a battle. So if you just want
to see a good fight, check it out. All right,
Cambos is Limachenka baby Reindeer. I'm gonna check that out.
I've been hearing lots of great things about it. It's

(01:16:33):
on Netflix. It's about that dude. Richard Gaddy plays a
character named Donnie's a bartender and some woman walks in
and all of a sudden becomes crazy obsessed with him,
becomes a stalker, and E've ben seeing the real life
woman with Pierce Brosden and all over social media saying
that's not really how the story went down, but it's
based on a true story, Baby Reindier. I'm finally gonna

(01:16:55):
check that out again, based on all the good reviews
and speaking of Netflix talking about this roast right, well,
the stats came in. Two million people watched it live.
Four million people have watched Kat Williams special, and I'm
not one of them yet me neither. It's called folk. Yeah,
I wrote it down and apparently he cuts up everybody, influencers,

(01:17:18):
mainstream actors, and we've been doing so much talking about
the roast. I haven't really checked it out yet, and
I can't wait to see what Kat Williams does here. Well,
I got a couple things in the comedy world to
add to that. Other than Kat Williams, you got John Mullaney.
He's doing a live Netflix comedy special that will be
you know, living on Netflix. That happens, I believe tonight

(01:17:40):
or tomorrow, so this weekend. Yeah, John Mullaney. His sit
down with let Letterman was great. I liked it. And
Nicki Glazer, who fresh off of the roast of Tom Brady,
she has an HBO comedy special that debuts Tomorrow, the eleventh,
and also on HBO Max Iron Claw The von Ericks.
If you haven't watched that wrestling movie yet, I hear
great things.

Speaker 8 (01:18:00):
I liked it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
That's tomorrow. And Danny, g are you and Brenda gonna
be watching American Idol Top five on Sunday night. We
probably will watch the top five. Top five should be
fun and of course great NBA. You got two games
tonight all weekend NBA playoffs and some NHL playoffs as well.
What you got, Danny?

Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
This worked last Friday. I put some voodoo on the
Nuggies tonight the late game Game three. Let's go Minnesota Tea,
Wolves of Los Angeles, Yes, all right? And on Apple TV,
Rich I talked to you about this in the Hallway
a couple of days ago. Great new show on Apple
TV called The Big Door Prize.

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
So good.

Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
Chris O'Dowd Gabrielle Dennis are the two starring in it.
Really good casting movie from a hit book, A small Town.
I'm gonna read the synopsis for you. Small town has
forever changed when a mysterious machine appears, promising to reveal
everyone's true potential. Soon, residents start changing jobs, rethinking relationships,
and questioning long held belief.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Yeah, it looks like a cool sci fi like what
the what you could have been? Like? The previews sold me,
so I want to give a shot as well.

Speaker 4 (01:19:06):
It's not sci fi, but the machine is very mysterious.

Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
That just winds up in their local general store, and
some people in the town are hesitant to go in
there to get the card because the card tells you, like,
you know, what your true potential is. One girl, it
says liar, and she's like what and so there's some
twist and turns with her.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
Though you want to know a good show you would
you want to?

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Would you want to get a little card that showed
the best or worst you could have been in life?
It's interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
There's a guy who owns a beats up arlor in town.
He says superstar and he's like, oh, right, for the
big time. I could have been a rock star had.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
I not owned this piece.

Speaker 1 (01:19:42):
Are Yeah, couples breaking up and stuff like that based
on their potential on the card interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
So that's on Apple TV. Yes, sir, anything else you
gots want to add or we done. I'm just saying
I'm excited about the Knicks game tonight and the Yankees
taken on the Race. So that's always a great series.
Actually is on right now, iosc and put it on
for me. Don't forget to at least call your mom,
say hello to your mother for me. So Happy Mother's
Day to all the Fox Sports Radio moms, all the moms.

(01:20:10):
If your auntie's a mom, Happy Mother's Day to her,
your god mom's, all the moms out there doing mom things.
We appreciate your. Happy Mother's Day from Cavino and rig
Show to your family. What about Maureen Oh Patrick's mom?
Oh yeah, I only say that because Patrick one of
the edits. His mom always makes us cookies. So if
your mom makes us cookies, you get a special show
for sure. For sure And coming up on Monday show

(01:20:33):
after Mother's Day weekend, remember a Monday edition of Iron
Mike Trivia for more giveaways. I love it when he
comes to the studio. I know, dud, I'm watching bowling.
We got all that, we got FS one on ESPN,
all the different sports Shuttles on what is bowling on
CBS Bowling speaking of your mom was on bowling for

(01:20:53):
dollars honestly true story. Yeah, I'll never find the footage,
but my mom was on that game show Span Bower.
This is a guy that bowls with like two hands
or one of them. A lot of these young kids
bowl with two hands. It's all the buzz nowadays, rich
and it's so odd because traditionally you see a guy
or a woman going up with the one hand, they
do that two hands spin thing.

Speaker 4 (01:21:14):
It's very common. Now it's the way of super common,
the way of the.

Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Future of bowling. Yep. But I want to just let
everyone know I'm a dummy, and I'm gonna end it
at that. I mean, we knew that. Next story, I
just spent the last ten minutes Danny looking for my
keys around the studio and I realized I left my
keys just before the show, and undo, I dropped my
car the car wash down the block and they have
my keys.

Speaker 6 (01:21:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
Yeah, I just spent the last ten minutes like where
are my keys? How the hell am I going to
get home?

Speaker 6 (01:21:42):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:21:42):
Say, I'm a dummy. It's funny you say that really
quick for her first Mother's Day gift. Yesterday, I took
my Wifey's car to the you know the where they
do it all the detailing, Yeah, the whole detail thing.
And I watched the poor guys run around and chase
people for their key. Yeah, because so many people have
the key fob and they forget to leave and they

(01:22:04):
just take off.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
I walked away and came back an hour later, and
my car was just still sitting there because I walked
through the idiots blocking everybody done that. By the way, Rich,
I don't want to over promise we have only a
few minutes left, but the importance of supporting a legend,
supporting the team, because we've been seeing a lot of that.
For example, you know they're not NBA players, but you

(01:22:27):
see the Knicks. Did you see Mo Rivera with all
the young Yankee players. That was awesome. That's the point
I want to make. And again that's why they looked
really invested like in that game. It was so cool
to see. We only have a couple of minutes, but
I think that's all we need. It's to me. You
see it a lot with college Alma maters, right, Like
guys would go back, Oh, it's Michigan Weekend, or this
guy all he went to Ohio State or Alabama. You

(01:22:49):
see him on the sideline. They'll pant to the guys.
Guys take a lot of pride to where they played
college hoops or college football. Yeah, as they should. And
there's always that pride, there's that college pride. A lot
of times there'll be a big playoff game in the
Pros and you don't see what you're seeing in New York.
And I'm not saying New York's the exception. You're saying
John Starks and that and Clyde Frazier and these guys

(01:23:12):
really invested, like we're talking invested. It feels like a fraternity,
like they're pumped about this young New York team. And
I love it. Like, like I said to Danny, I
always love when Magic Johnson just shows his passion for
the Lakers. When a guy that played for a team
you root for still feels like he has that passion
and that fire for the team. Like Listen, Derek Jeter

(01:23:33):
has been around baseball Marlins front offices, different things like
wouldn't it mean something to you if you saw Derek
Jeter rooting on Volpi and Soto and these young guys.
Oh yeah, no, I love seeing it. And I've been
seeing mar Bury too out there again cheering on the
East Coast team. There's something to be said about because

(01:23:53):
in the playoffs, I guess, you know what, I think
of him as East Coast either way.

Speaker 4 (01:23:57):
You know, I think of him as a net obviously,
But I just think there's something.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
Really nice and as a forty nine Ers fan, no
one does it better than Jerry Rice with his big
Niners helmet medallion around his neck always, you know, encouraging
Debo and Iyuk and these young receivers. Oh and by
the way, some of these young players said they're feeding
off of that. Yeah, they've said that recently.

Speaker 1 (01:24:16):
No Riches, right, I'm glad you brought up NFL Rich
because the Raiders heritage is one of the things I
love about that organization. Once a Raider, always a Raiders
their slogan, and they always honor. Yeah, they always honor
all of their stars from the past few decades.

Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
I think it's nice.

Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
I think it's great for the old guys to get
their props while they're there, but to also support the
young guys, and it fires up the young guys. As
we've noticed in the past few weeks, so the legends
supporting the current Yeah, and legends to me, I will
not be happy until I see Jim Plunkett give Gardner

(01:24:52):
Minshew a bro huk, dude.

Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
I won't be happy until I see Jim Plunkett inducted
into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
His numbers match, no, he's his numbers are better than
certain quarterbacks that are in. You know, fun fact, I'm
pretty sure my brother's named after Jim Plunkett. Maybe my
mom's a radio there. I know my mom's a Raiders fan. Yeah,
my brother. My brother's name is James. He was born
in nineteen eighty four.

Speaker 4 (01:25:13):
And rich by the way, named after Richard Simmons.

Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
I don't know if because his mom was a big
dealer Meal fan back in the day. Huge fan, huge fan. Well, hey,
we appreciate you hanging with us. Anything you miss you
can always catch at. Coviino and rich named after Richard Simmons,
Steve Covino named after who, Steve Balboni after my dad.

(01:25:36):
Oh okay, all right, well, thank you guys. Have a
great weekend. Happy Mother's Day weekend. Enjoy your NBA enjoy
your baseball and enjoy your fights. Perfect riva. There you baby,
see you in the Promised Land. How do you mother
for me?
