wasn't that when he invited Anthony Davis to their first
Taco night together?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
You think he invites Luca, you would hope?
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So right is Luca can to experience his first Taco Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
He's done everything else right, And we'll explain. We got
Last one Standing your chance to win some prizes. Today
on the show, a very special Tuesday edition of the
Nation's favorite game, Last One Standing. Danny g got it
all prepared. Do you believe Jason Kelsey with his mixed
emotions about the Super Bowl? We'll talk about that the
best athletes of all time, they make the best wrestlers.
(01:32):
Because someone made a cameo word up last night. Can't
wait at raw lots to get to again. I'm Steve Cavino.
That is Rich Davis, a CNR on FSR. And why
is Cavino like Aaron Rodgers?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Why? I'll explain. Oh geez well returned.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
He returned from New Orleans Dan Byer today on the Updates,
Dan picking all the confetti out of every crevice, every crevice,
every crevis man. I said, the dude sounds like a
dirty job. Let micro handle that I saw on social media.
Did you see confetti guy? That's his job at the
end of the Super Bowl, he has to.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Pick it all up. No, No, that's a different job.
Oh what a pain in the ass that would be.
You missed the one. There's a guy who you see scrambling.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Around and he has huge ass plastic bags of the
different colors depending on who wins this one. Obviously they
could have picked the confetti in the first quarter, but
the green, silver, and white confetti. He's the guy that
just shoves it in those big fans, and that's his job.
He feverishly is like throwing into confetti. It's a cool
(02:38):
ash job, the dumbest job, but it is kind of important.
What does his business card say, Confetti shover, Honestly confetti tycooned,
honestly confetti expert. But picture a guy celebration expert. Picture
a guy feverishly taking handful after a handful of confetti
and throwing it in that mondo fan.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Like you know. That is a visual I never even
thought of.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
That is so funny. Dude, Again, that's Rich Davis. One
day He'll be a confetti guy one day. Guys, remember
to check out Fox Sports Radios YouTube channel. Tons of
great videos from last week's Super Bowl. We were live
from No Lan's search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube. See
a bunch of our video highlights with Bjon Robinson, Paige Sporanic,
Kurt Shilling, CeAl and Debo.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Lots of videos on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. Here's something.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I want everyone to look at the video of us
with Paige Sporaic. Oh yeah, I want you people watched
that whole interview and didn't even realize we were there.
I want you to give me a pat on the
back for my eye control. I looked her in the
eyes the whole time. That is impressive. You know what,
(03:51):
I'll give you a round it Okay, I'll give you
a high five. And if you see the video, you'll
be you know, it'll it'll make sense why I deserve
around the hole.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Still recovering, in fact, from an amazing week in New Orleans.
Not to justify, but I do want to explain. Like
I sound like Ray Romano, like all stuffed up. It's me,
m It's not Romano and Rich show. It's convenient. I'm
just so stuffed up. I got sick in New Orleans.
I feel a lot better now, though I feel so
much better, but I'm still all stuffed up. I think
(04:20):
I caught the black line. So my choices were sit
around in the fetal position or come here and hang
out with you guys.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I chose to hang out with you. Well.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
As we get into last night, the Lakers and Luca.
I want to bring up one quick observation. I made
sure as we all got back into town after the
super Bowl. It was really fun hanging with the whole
Fox Sports Radio crew, got to hang with Robin Kelvin
a little bit, got to see dB Jay Stu hanging around.
It was honestly, LeVar, I feel like there was a
(04:54):
point where LaVar and I were doing like a two
man shown in the lobby for people.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
He just hangs out in the hotel lobby the whole
time with the shoes on.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
That guy's hilarious. Come on, now, he makes himself at
home in the lobby. Anytime he went down in the lobby,
there's LeVar, Yeah, shoes off, having a cocktail.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Look, yeah, guy, that's his scene.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
So we get back after a long week of eating, drinking, schmoozing,
having a lot of fun doing fun shows like again,
check all the videos on the YouTube page. And I
come home and I'm like, oh, what a fat piece
of garbage. I feel like I got to hit the
gym a little extra hard. This girl Scout Cookie's waiting
because it's that season. So I'm like, now on top
of this, Now you gotta battle the Samoa's calling your name.
(05:34):
My wife's like, babe, there's three boxes of thin Min's
in the freezer. Now there's two, Now there's one. So
I'm like, you know what, I gotta hit the gym.
Maybe I'll go before the show today. And this is
a reminder, Wow, new routine if you need a change
of scenery. I just came back from the gym in
between our podcast and doing the Fox Sports show.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Great. You know it's like he comes in all sweaty,
like you and history class in high school. Jim. Remember
in Jim, you'd have Jim, you'd.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Be playing volleyball, you'd be going all out in gym class,
playing basketball. Then you'd have to go to social studies
with a sweaty ass. That's Rich right now. So that's great.
We reap all the benefits of Rich's swassy ass. He
goes to the gym and then he comes here to
hang out with us. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
But sometimes it's nice to change it up. You see
a whole new group of people, like who's that piece
of booty on the treadmill? Who's that weird guy. It's
a little list crowded. Didn't control your eyes at the gym.
I see, i'd point at me when you said weird guy.
You just pointed dragonly, who's that weird guy? You're that
weird guy. But you know what, sometimes if you're in
(06:39):
a rut, maybe changing around the schedule. Because my wife
and I were saying that, listen, sometimes when you are
in a rut professionally, personally, anything, mix up the schedule,
but maybe go to the gym at a different time or.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Take it up. I'd be time to shake it up.
But let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
You know who shook it up, the Lakers, making one
of the big trades in their franchise's history. And last
night it was huge, a big time debut for Luca,
not necessarily on the court, but everything from the intro
to Lebron embracing him.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
I want to start.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
By saying, anyone that doubts Lebron James leadership is a
damn fool. Oh he's playing everything right, and you gotta
appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Danny g you got to appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I loved the little pregame speech of don't fit in,
fit the f out, as he said.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Tell you this is what he said in the little huddle,
don't be yourself.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
And you know what, when you saw Team USA at
the Olympics, what did every veteran superstar all say? They
were beside themselves when it came to Lebron's work, ethic,
his training, what a leader he is, Yet us as
idiotic fans still doubt this guy. It's fascinating to me.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
And he's gonna lead by example like great role model
for Luca. It's Luca's biggest criticism, his conditioning, the way
he treats his body, and the reason Lebron is who
he is is because he treats his body like a
well oiled machine, like a temple, right, like a temple. Yes,
millions of dollars invested on staying in shape and being
that guy, and that's given him the longevity in the health.
(08:30):
So if Luca just learns by his leadership, that's amazing
and that's what you want. I think Lebron has done
everything right so far. It's good to see. You know,
he's welcoming the new guy and that don't fit in,
fit the f out. It makes no sense grammatically, but
makes perfect sense when you think about it. It's like
(08:51):
be you don't try to fit in with us, just
be you because you're great.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
The way you are. Just ball out and be Luca
and we're gonna love it. We'll in around you. You're
the guy. So it's also Lebron saying like you're the dude.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Just just do what you do and that's that's an
honor in itself, you know. And like I said, it
doesn't make sense, like the ceiling is the roof, Like
the ceiling is the roof. Doesn't make sense, but you
know what it means, right, So I like that f out.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
He loves him just the way you are. Yeah, he
doesn't need to fit in. He just needs to be
Luca and ball out. Shouldn't you preface that with a
please get fit first? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Right, and no in and out, buddy, but you know
what I fit in, get fit. I thought it was
also very cool, again a leadership move by Lebron to
say yeah, yeah, I get it. Usually I'm the one
that's last to be introduced. Place goes nuts Lebron James.
He said, no, no, that's not even more like the
SNL guy, Lebron Jame, musical guests man anymore. I feel
(09:54):
like you gave it an SNL and pushing machine gun
jelly it's almost Captain crunching.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, you gave it that. You gave it a little
bit of that, you know. It did dawn on me.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Well, what a solid move that was right for lebron
to I mean, also an obvious one. I don't give
too much credit as the least Lebrons have done on
this guy's debut.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
He's a star in his own right. To give him
the last intro and the other guard?
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Where is number of seventy seven six seven seventh? The
campaign buck slow media lucas the Irons.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I might need to be the new Laker PA guy.
Give me a little oof, do.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
The SNL bit. You guy's been the Laker PA man
for like forty years. It's not to change, Danny. Bring
me in there. I'll do my best. SNL number seventy seven,
Luca Dodge.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
You're too hyped out, man, Yeah, you're too hYP You'd
annoy everybody out at the arena.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I'm annoying Myself's the thing for eath. But I didn't
think about this last night. It dawned on me, Danny,
g did you have this thought too? Like they really
the carpet for Luca. Everybody in attendance got a seventy
seven jersey. He was all draped on the chair like
Oprah was in charge. Man, you get a jersey, You
get a jersey. Everybody got a jersey. And I wonder
(11:14):
how that makes.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Lebron feel like, Wow, man, did everyone get a jersey
when I showed up?
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I don't remember that. I think Lebron needs more accoepes.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
I think it right know, But do they have to
like sort of run it by him a little bit, like, hey, Lebron,
we mean no offense, Like, is it that kind of relationship?
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
I think we're beyond that because he didn't even know
about the trade. We're at a point now where Lebron
is a legend. But the Lakers are thinking beyond Lebron
James and the fact that they have his leadership to
bring Luca in the mix. And from what I watched,
I didn't watch the whole game, but from what I watched,
it seemed like the Lakers have Lebron or Luca or
(11:51):
both on the court at any given time.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
That is something that that opens enough for Austin Reeves
even more so.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Honestly, if your concern is Lebron and then Luca and
then at times Lebron and Luca Reeves is just the
guy and did he have the most points? Now, Lebron
had twenty four points last night Reeves had twenty two points.
I did watch the game because I felt like, you
gotta watch history, right well, I gotta see him make
his first shot, makes his first three props to him
was a big moment. Danny G what were your thoughts
(12:19):
watching everything? Because you're the lifelong Lakers guy, how did
you feel watching this?
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Remember last week when we read the quotes from Lebron
when he said it, it felt it didn't feel real
that it had happened, that the trade took place. Last night,
watching them together, it almost felt like a little mini
All Star team, and it was almost surreal in a way.
As a Lakers fan, I was like, is this really
happening right now? Like, yeah, I'm going to miss ad
(12:44):
because he was one of my favorite players. But to
watch those two out there on the court at the
same time, and then a lot of people forget how
they acquired Finny Smith and how well Ruey has been playing,
and some of the guys off the Lakers bench right
now that are fan favorites. They got a really nice squad.
And remember just sick. We're just removed a couple of
years removed from the Lakers really struggling as far as
(13:05):
depth goes. So now to have what we have in
front of us at the moment is pretty amazing.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Hachimura had twenty one points, and it looked like they
were having fun last night too, right did Yeah, And
it was wild to see. Like Danny g said, superstars
the Utah Jazz, they were getting collaborate because they don't
get a break. You know, you had Lebron, like I said,
Lebron and Luca out there together. Then Lebron comes out,
Luca goes in, Luca goes out, Lebron comes in.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
It was no breaks for the Utah Jazz. They had
no shot.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I mean, granted their twelve and forty, but the Lakers
look dominant last night, and that's just their first game together.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
They're gonna be better and better, you know. Interestingly enough,
Lebron has been part of so many winning teams. But
you know, the twenty twenty Bubble Championship, Lebron jam with
him and ad Don Pardo.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
He passed away, didn't they? He passed away in twenty
fourteen at the age of ninety six. Yeah, I remember
that legend. His voice was he was amazing.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
But Ad and Lebron won the bubble chip that some
people criticize. I think it's equally or more impressive in
some aspects. Point is, since then, Danny, we've known you
for three four years now, there's been a couple of
seasons where the Lakers gonna sneak into the playing game.
Are the Lakers like they're floating around five hundred? This
(14:27):
is no longer a floating around five hundred. Maybe they'll
make noise in the playoffs team this is a all right,
they're top tier team. He would almost be disappointing if
they didn't make a deep run or go all the way.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Yeah, and you just have to be worried a little
bit about when they go up against maybe the Nuggets
or a team that has more size. Oh the Nuggets
one thing, well, eat them, don't worry about it. But
maybe they can outscore those teams. And I did like
reading a story yesterday about Jackson Hayes. He's really the
only true center that could be a starter on the
team right now when that Williams trade fell. But I
(15:01):
read that Luca, and Hayes was the first one who
took him out to dinner when Luca got to town
because the two of them were kind of buddies in
the past. Luca used to tell him when Hayes was
on the New Orleans Pelicans, Hey, dude, we got to
play together sometime, you and me. So the two of
them had joked around prior saying that they wanted to
play together. And so you see Jackson Hayes hopefully stepping
(15:23):
up to fill that big man role that the team's
really gonna need.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Danny g Rich Sam I had to mansplain, with all
due respect, I had to mansplain to my girlfriend last
night the significance of the trade. She's like, you're watching
the Lakers. I'm like, oh, football's over. I got to
shift my focus, you know me Lakers.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Guy, but it's bachelor night.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I'm like, you know what. Honestly, Bacheler took a back
seat Luca's debut. So I was trying to explain her
the importance and obviously she knew. Everybody knows that the
trade happened.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Did you man's plain? Man's plaining to her? I did,
I said, let me man's plain.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
She's like, what's that. I said, well, let me man'splain, and.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
I was like, they traded a D, great defensive star
for Luca, one of the biggest stars of now today.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
He's twenty five years old, whole future.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Ahead of them. So the Mavericks got a D. But
he's hurt now, right, and he could be out for
a month. He's like, oh my god. And I'm like, well,
Luca's a superstar, international star. How did they let him go?
And I'm trying to explain it to her, and I
can see it's not sinking in. So I put it
in terms that she might understand. I was like, it's like.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
The Lakers.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Getting a Louis vatan bag for a coach back. And
she was like, oh wait, but Dallas might have too
many Louis Vuittons and really really want to coach me, right,
I was like, it's like trading your Barbie doll and
getting the Skipper.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Remember Skipper, like the little ugly sister.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Oh yeah, oh my god. I'm like, yeah, not that ad.
He's like, you know, ugly and bad. He's great, but
he's older and he's hurt and everything. But also the Barbie, uh,
not going to the gym as much, right, right, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
So you know, I was trying to find all these
ways to explain. I think it eventually sunk in, you know,
the significance and the importance of something that we hadn't
seen before, which is why we had to tune in
and take some notes. And dude, Luca ended up with
fourteen points and they.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Still clombed him.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
Yeah, he only played twenty three minutes because they have
him limited a little bit coming off his injury.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
By the way, I almost feel like that should be
a new segment because I enjoyed that having man Cavino
Man's plains.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Yeah, I mean, she's like, she gets her sports, but
she didn't understand like why it was such a big
deal that I had to be watching eating popcorn to
see this moment, you know, and everyone got a jersey.
I'm like, Luca's a big deal and they got rid
of a big deal. Who's well, he's not as good,
but he's good in a different way.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Defensive, he's a big star, but he's.
Speaker 5 (17:48):
Not like, Yeah, as Mark Cuban tried to explain when
he was on stage recently, did you guys see that clip?
He said, it's like trading Windows eleven for Windows ten.
He's like, ten's a hall of fame, but eleven's right
now if it was up to him, and he tried
to put in a last minute phone call saying please
don't trade Luca, and it had already taken place. They
(18:10):
verbally agreed over the phone already.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
And we had questioned what influenced Mark Cuban still had
because he's still involved, right, but he's by no means decision.
Speaker 5 (18:19):
Yeah, arm length away.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, I guess you know what, Mark Cuban would not
have let that happen. Mark Cubmember did a Mark Cuban Well,
he was quoted as saying he's more likely to get divorced, yeah,
than part ways with Luca. So that's how you knew
Mark Cuban's Paul is just you know, he's outside looking in.
Now he's part of it, but not so your thoughts.
(18:42):
Did Lebron do everything right?
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Again?
Speaker 3 (18:45):
He told him don't fit in, fit the fl and
get fit while you're at it, that part I added,
But I think it proves the point. You know, we
often question when you're the new guy at the office,
is it the new guy's job to introduce himself to
everybody else and make them feel welcome. Now it's everyone
(19:06):
else's job to make the new guy feel welcome, right
that the new guy needs to be open to it,
and he needs to put his best foot forward. But
it's like when we started here at Fox Sports. Yeah,
we got some dirty looks, I know that, but.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
We put our best foot forward and most people were
very welcoming and that.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Yeah, and you brought free talking and we brought tacos. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Well, that's what the new guy has to do then,
But veterans in the building, which is Lebron and everybody
else on the team, they have to be welcoming at
the same time. And I think they did a great
job of that, not only as a team as a
city last night for Luca welcoming the new guy. When
you talk about whose job is it, think about the
(19:47):
most recent new guy here at Fox Sports Radio, the
Odd Couple, Kelvin. Yeah, he enters the mix, really great guy.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
He brings in donuts. Hey, I'm the new guy.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
He just he brought a good positive vibe. But I
think was all of our job also to be like, y'all, dude,
welcome to the team, to the team. Man and that's
that's in every office.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
And then when I told him not to fit in,
to fit the f out, Remember that you said that?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, I made that. Hang me that up. Yeah you
didn't say that. I did. Lebron got it from me.
But you know that's another great thing. You haven't met.
Talk about Luther King. I did. I did mean Martin
Luther King.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
No, but everybody around here, because we're a great team,
as a great teams do made him feel welcome. Now
we still got last one standing. We got to talk
Jason kelsey Man Aaron Rodgers in the news, and what
why is Cavino like Aaron Rodgers. We got to get
to this next because there's a ton of Aaron Rodgers
news and I feel like you and him. Meanwhile, you cat,
(20:41):
you don't do ayahuasca. You guys are weirdos in a
few ways, and I'll explain We're coming from the weirdest
guy I know.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Also, we're gonna come back with a Super Bowl rhyme reel,
a recap for my buddy Nick Javis. So stick around
more Caveno and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

Miller rhyme reo recap Nick Javis, who's rapped with everyone
from Snoop Dogg to Lupe Fiasco, you remember him, Pio's
Pepsi Max NFL Audibles. Thanks for the rhyme, real Nick,
It's Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. And by
the way, check his social media if you want to
see the video for that, Nick Javis Javas and I'll
(23:19):
be posting it later at Steve Covino at Covino and
Rich and everything at Fox Sports Radio. Now this week,
speaking of the Eagles, the parade in Philadelphia on Valentine's Day,
happy by that times pop.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Imagine that decision.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Imagine some guy or girl has a pain in the
spouse or significant other.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
It's like it's Valentine.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Imagine some guy has a pain in the ass girlfriend,
her spouse.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Yeah, I can imagine. Okay, yeah, do you.
Speaker 5 (23:44):
Know about Philly women though, Philly women are yeah, bigger
fans than their boyfriends or their no doubt.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Honestly, like all stereotype all day, East Coast women seem
to be way passionate. Yeah, compared to women I've met
out here on the West Coast, like Philly for example.
You're right, wives and girlfriends just as passionate. So that
parade on Friday could be pretty wild. Please behave yourself.
Philly fans.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
I saw what they what happened on Broad Street after
they won, and they were like, I've always defended Philly,
but they were ridiculous, Like they were like breaking windows.
There's gonna be no more streetlights. People don't really harry
down street light. It's like, come on, what are we doing.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
I was talking about confetti guy at the at the
super Bowl that throws all the Confettian people don't know
cheese steak Sammy, Yeah, you know what, you know what
Ioa Sam's job was once he was the guy that
lubed up the telephone pole so they couldn't climb me
in Philly.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Really yeah, they called him loop boy loop boy boy. Yeah,
you know it was at his resume.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I know, we have such slippery fingers when you're hitting
the buttons exactly. So Iowa Sam's on the ones and
Tuesday Danny g is super producing at eight seven seven
ninety nine Fox. Dan Byer's got your updates in just
a few minutes. All of our videos at Covino and Rich.
I'm Steve Cavino.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
That is Rich Davis and speaking of foosball, gotta talk
Aaron Rodgers next. Before we do, I got to ask
Dan Bayer, who I had some great footage video and
pictures down on the field representing Fox Sports Radio. Always
cool to see dB taking part in that. Dan, at
any point, did you see uh, did.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
You see Taylor Swift? She didn't go down obviously they lost.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
We didn't see her at all, No, not At one point,
I couldn't tell you what sweet she sat in. I
don't know if she was because our media seats were
in the upper level, but did not see her at all.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Surprisingly, we didn't see her much on TV. It was
nothing to cheer for it.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
And also President Trump, I remember the story at the
end of last week was sweet tickets were going up
in price, but people wanted to be in the suite
next to either Trump or Taylor, and I'm curious if
they were actually even close. They didn't show either one,
which was shocking. I thought the overrun there would be
like ten times on each of them.
Speaker 7 (25:49):
Yeah, they did in the stadium, which I think was
a story that you guys heard. When they showed President Trump,
there was a cheer and they they got the booth. Yeah,
Eagles fans being loud, but that was they do it once.
And what they do is where you see like at
the Garden, you know, the Knicks just do celeb after
celeb or like to do with the Lakers. Here, they
would do a celeb and then they would do the
common fan, so it would be mixed up. You wouldn't
(26:12):
just get like eight celebrities in a row. You would
get like one or two and then you would get
you know, just common fans waving.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yah's what's a funny the fact that Donald Trump, By
the way, I'm not a Trump hater by any means,
but I thought it was a little a little odd
that he put on social media like no One how
to wear Danan Taylor Swift. To the fact that he
even I mean, he says a lot of dump things.
What's that you like him or not?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
It's very funny, right, the fact that he even addressed
like no one had to wear Danan Taylor Swift.
Speaker 7 (26:38):
Really, I don't know about you, but I'm using a
plastic straw today, so you know.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
What, I could get behind that, and I could get
behind uh, get rid.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Of the penny?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Who he needs a pat? Ben Maller does, and oh yeah,
what is Ben Mella gonna do. I know, right, Benny Rich.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
They did show Trump once pregame when we were saluting
the country.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (26:58):
Yeah, and you could you heard the crowd they reacted.
I don't know if it was the eruption, it's a positive,
but the crowd lit up.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
You definitely heard it. So speaking of football, our very
own Diana Russini, who we saw.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Are very own. She your girlfriend or something, our very
own friend.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, that's really what I was saying at you mean
our old pal, our old pal.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
She is always on her grind. We did work with
her at ESPN and she was super cool always, so
it was nice to see her. So our very own pal.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
We saw her a couple of times, in fact, the
one of the good pals we took away from our
time at ESPN back in the day. And she was
sort of responsible for breaking this story and I was
I was Sam, if you want to just roll it.
She talked about Aaron Rodgers and where things may have
gone wrong with the Jets.
Speaker 8 (27:51):
Take a listen when they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers
about what the future would look like. If you're going
to be part of this team, you're going to attend
all the trading camp. You're not going to do Pat
McAfee interviews anymore.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Wait, they said that, Yeah, if you.
Speaker 8 (28:04):
Were to stay here, here's how we would want.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
It to be.
Speaker 8 (28:08):
So this, to me is Aaron Glad getting control back.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
So do you think that if he would have agreed
to not do that stuff that he would have been
their quarterback?
Speaker 8 (28:17):
I think that no matter what the Jets were going
to say, Aaron Rodgers wanted to move on.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
So the Jets made it clear, if you want to return,
no more mispractices, no more McAfee appearances, no more you know,
Aaron Rodgers antics, you know none of that. And what
I think is going on here is them sort of
forcing him out. I call it offers you can't accept.
(28:42):
It's like when a job lowballs you and you can't
accept it because it's insulting.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
So it's not like you're fire. We offered you a
job exactly, and Rich and I have been there.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
It's like like in our previous employer, we weren't technically fired,
and I would always defend that we weren't fired, we
weren't let go. We got an offer we couldn't accept,
and it's just the company's way. Of making you, forcing
you to make that decision. You know, it's like it's
like a girl make You ever been in a relationship
(29:13):
where you're too much of a coward to break up
with someone and you're like, I'm just gonna make I'm
gonna make it so annoying. I'll be such a terrible
guy that she dumps me. I've been on the receiver
again where I'm like, I think she just wants me
to dump her.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Zach Morris did that once in an episode Save with
a Belt. Well, Zach Morris is trash.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
That's why, Like Rich Davis, Zach Morris is trash. Yeah,
but it's true that we were at a former employer
and they gave us the weakest of Hey, guys, you
know we're going through COVID times.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
What do you what do you say?
Speaker 2 (29:42):
You take a pay cut with a non compete And
it's like, well that just makes.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Zero significant pay cut, cutting down like the hours. You know,
not everybody would be involved the same way, and you're like, well,
why would I do that? So they're forcing you to
make it as and in a lot of ways, that's
what I'm getting from this. They're gonna tell Aaron Rodgers,
who again he's been doing sort of what he's wanted
(30:08):
to do is whole career, and now all of a sudden
he has these restrictions and he can't do what he wants,
and like, I don't see that vibing with him at
all at this stage of his career. So he's forced
to then say, nah, I'll take my talents elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
So the question is the Jets play I'm Gonna make
you dump me move, which was we've all been in it.
You might have to think back to high school or college,
but I think we've all been in a scenario where
it's like, yo, this person, this person's forcing my hand.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
They're not doing it. But and now the question is,
well they are. What's he going to do next? And
it's a speculation of well, is he done now? But
his former teammate Aaron Jones said today that he's definitely
not done. He thinks he still has a lot in
the tank and he still has a lot to prove.
So then there's that conversation. But I'm still dying to
(31:00):
hear how he's like me. So maybe you could tell, yeah,
how Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Is like Steve Cavino I'll tell you exactly how after
Dan Bayer's update.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Oh Damn Bier in the house. What's up?
Speaker 7 (31:16):
Dan Kellen Moore's the new head coach of the New
Orleans Saints. At thirty six years old, he becomes the
youngest active head coach in the NFL, and he's starting
to fill out his staff as well. Reports say that
Brandon Staley, the former Chargers head coach, could be the
guy to be the Saints defensive coordinator. Eagles defensive end
Brandon Graham told WIP in Philadelphia he's going to take
(31:37):
some time before deciding on whether to enter retirement or
play another season. Graham thought his career was over when
he had a torn triceps muscle this season, but was
well enough to return for Super Bowl fifty nine. Now
says that he still has some stuff left in the
tank and may not hang them up. Super Bowl champion
Eagles will have their parade and rally on Friday, expected
(31:59):
at least million people in attendance in Philadelphia. News of
the NBA free agents center Alex lenn was set to
sign with the Indiana Pacers, but he's changed his mind.
He's going to be a Laker. While the Toronto Raptors
forward Brandon Ingram have agreed to terms on a three
year extension with one hundred and twenty million dollars. Pelicans
will be shutting Herb Jones down for the rest of
the season. He's been out since January because of a
(32:21):
torn labram in his shoulder. Thirty one year old closer
Kelly Jansen signed a one year, ten million dollar deal
with the Angels, and finally, the Dodgers and thirty six
year old and soon to be thirty seven year old
Clayton Kershaw have agreed on a contract. The three times
Cy Young Award winner had been working out with a
team leading up to today's signing. They'll make it official
(32:41):
once he passes his physical. Guys back to you.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
No thanks, Dan Bier, Thank you, d b Ho. Was
Cavino like Aaron Rodgers, No shocking revelation.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
I'm dying to find out because I feel like I
don't have anything in common with that guy.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Aaron Rodgers and you are cut from the same cloth
that when someone tells you to do something and pushes enough,
it just makes you want to do it, even less
there was another athlete or someone got it, got it.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
We just talked to who was a Jim Lampley.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yes, And I asked him about, hey, Jim think yeah
good Jim, do you think we'll ever get that Canelo
Benavidez fight? And he explained that Canelo is a stubborn
Mexican kid, and the more you push him, and the
more you push Benavitez at him, the less he wants
(33:36):
to do it. He doesn't need to do it, He
doesn't need to prove to anybody. So the more it's
brought up, the less he less likely he is to
give you that fight.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
If you talk.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Cavino, Bro, we're all out with coworkers at a karaoke bar.
Your Cavino hop up there, do a song. Yeah right,
picture that. But he might if it's my decision, if
you asked him more than once, the more you bother
him to like goes down.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I don't know what that is. It's not like a.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Quality that I'm proud of or anything. It's honestly how
my instincts work. It's like, all right, now you've built
this up to be even more than it should be
and you're making something out of it, and I don't
like it. Like if it was my decision, to go
out there and bust the move, or go out there
and tell a joke, or go out there and sing
a song.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
I'll do that spontaneously. But now that you like put
this pressure on me, now, I don't want to.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
If you said, hey, we're at an event, yo, pass
the mic to Cavino, say a few words. If you
told him more than ones like come on, bro, every
time you say come on, oh not never will he
did it.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
This is the reason Covino still hasn't watched Shrinking on
Apple TV. You're all right, because Rich has hammered it
so much. I'm like, now he's not allergic to your.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Pressure deep down. Yeah, you're so right about that, And
it's weird. It's not like it's not a like a
deliberate thing, right. That's just sort of my default setting
and how it works. So I get what you're saying
with Aaron Rodgers. I do understand what you're saying here.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
If Danny g you said shrinking on Apple TV, I
did spots started it raved about it. We have a
group of a group chat that were on a bunch
of dudes Cavino respects are all like bro for real,
great show.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
The fact that more than once. I was like, come on, bro,
watch it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Now now it looks like I gave in, like get
at it. So in other words, to make it clear,
Aaron Rodgers, if if someone's telling Aaron Rodgers, bona fide
superstar in the league, what to do, what he can
and can't do, it's probably gonna make him say, well,
then I'm then I'm out of here. If our boss
don Or Scott was like, guys, we're going to reopen
(35:37):
your contract, fat new deal.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Crush your fingers so that I like that idea, right,
sounds good to me.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
But if but if Scott and don delivered the contract
and they said, my man one one caveat one Rub Cavino,
Uh you can't wear Yankee hats on the air, Yeah,
no big deal. But the fact that they said it
mean I'd be well, hold on now because I want
(36:02):
to win my Yankee Like if Don said, here's doubling
your salary, but uh yo, no Yankee gear, that would
be a problem for a guy like Convin.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
All right, well your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers plus last
one is standing.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
We got more copdo enriched next. Now we are not weathermen,
though weather Adam is great. I love that guy on
social media, but we do know a thing is true

for the rhymerel again at Nick Javis, Javas. If you
want to check the Super Bowl recap at Steve Covino,
if you want to say what's up to me?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
At Rich Davis at Covino and Rich.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
If you want to see all of our New Orleans adventures, man,
what a great time still recovering.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
That's why I sound like great Romano right now. Hi,
it's me Ray Ramono.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yeah, I think I came down with something over in
New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
I got such a stuffy nose man, So anyway, I'm Kavino.
That is Rich Danny g Super producing at eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox Iowa. Sam dB spotties here,
thank you for hanging out with us. We got last
one standing next door giving away some prizes. But this
whole Aaron Rodgers thing honestly and takes it takes some decongested.
Why just do it takes some decongested? I mean I
(38:12):
was gone, but yeah, now that you're telling me to
I don't want to do it.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
You know.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
I wonder if that's an instinct where it's learned, because
my dad, Like, that's something that my mom would criticize
my dad for being your.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Stupid father is so stubborn. He was not a good trait.
I'm not saying it is, you know. And my dad
would be like, hey, why you busting my chop so
Dante and my mom would tellhim to do something.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Yeah, and now he wouldn't not going to do it. Steven.
Here's I'll give you a perfect example.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Ready, my dad during COVID time started looking like Ben
Franklin with his hair cut. Right, he stopped cutting his hair,
You look like Albert Einstein or something. Right, he turned
into like crazy old guy, stop dying it, stop cutting hair,
document brown.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Great Scott Right.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
His dad used to look like Dennis Eckersley. Yeah, and
then he stopped dying. It's like Kenny Rodgers. So my
mom would be like, Steven.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
What are you doing? Cut your hair a leave me alone, Otensia.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
The more my mom bothered him to cut his hair,
the more he leaned into Hey, I'm the crazy old
guy now, and everyone's like, dad, just cut your hair
and every time someone would tell him he wouldn't do it,
he wouldn't do it. Eventually, Luigi the barber was at
his door being like, you gotta cut the hair.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Oh, you gotta listen to reason, You gotta listen to Luigi.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
So I don't know if it's a natural instinct there,
it's a learned thing.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
But I'm telling you you can't tell.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Aaron Rodgers what to do in regard in regards to
that Diana Rassini report who we Love, Happy birthday, Diana Rassini.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
You know, play the audio one more time.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I was sam This is her report on the Jets
conversations with Aaron.
Speaker 8 (39:49):
When they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers about what the
future would look like. If you're going to be part
of this team, you're going to attend all the trading camp,
You're not going to g Pat MacAfee interviews.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Any Wait.
Speaker 8 (40:00):
They said that, yeah, if you were to stay here,
here's how we would want.
Speaker 7 (40:05):
It to be.
Speaker 8 (40:06):
So this to me is Aaron glad getting control back.
Speaker 7 (40:09):
So do you think that if he would have agreed
to not do that stuff, that he would have been
their quarterback?
Speaker 8 (40:14):
I think that no matter what the Jets were going
to say Aaron Rodgers wanted to move on.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
That's rale Pal Diana Russini doing great work as usual,
and happy birthday to her.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
Yeah, it's her birthday. And Mike Shanoda of Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Clarkspurings now and my son Ben and oh save the
best for laughs, bro. Yeah, he's five today. Little Benny's
five and he's already the man of the house, if
you know what I mean. We start our first T
ball game this weekend, so very cool beginning of you
ever remember when you were a little kid your first
T ball game, put on your first ever uniform.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
I'm pumped for him. Coach had a pitch to me.
You know we we do. We do three pitches.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
If the kids don't make contact, then you break out
the tea.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
I've been coaching girl softball for my daughter couple Yours
is my first dive into coaching baseball, so it's going
to be exciting.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
I'm pumped. Just don't tell me what to do.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers before we move on, though,
I think he calls it a day.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
I think the better question, buddy boy, And it's really
not an easy question to answer. I don't care what
any experts say. I don't even want to hear their speculation.
I'm curious if you just put on your own dumb
thinking cap, not that sweet Travis Matthew hat.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
You have on that it's a sweet thinking cap.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Where could Aaron Rodgers land when you think about I
want you to think about this and give me an
answer after the break. Just think of one team where
you like. That makes sense because with rookie quarterbacks, young quarterbacks, veterans,
where could Aaron Rodgers call home in a darkness, retreat
in a cave somewhere. I just think that the options
are oddly few. More Covin on Rich next
