(01:08):
Oh yeah it is. Well, we're gonna go over your Friday.
Friday Friday, not just any Friday Friday. I think it's
a Friday where you got to bring the romance, lean
into your wife a little bit more, you know, get
some hugs, take her out to dinner, get some hugs.
I was thinking something else. I'm trying to keep a PG.
(01:29):
There's kiddos in the car because the rest of your
weekend is stacked. Tonight. Enjoy a movie. Cuddle up and
watch the Menandos brother Story. You know something romantic that's romantics.
Oh yeah, watch something romantic like the Aaron Hernandez thing,
you know, or Love is Blind season Saturday with that
(01:50):
crazy art dealer. Dude. Well, you know what, pause because
later in the show we go over weekend hob nobbing
what you need to watch? But I say that only
because the rest of the weekend is packed with divisional
series based all college football. NFL. Yeah, so much to
get to this weekend. But man, congratulations rich to you,
because you're my butt and I think that's part of
the sports culture. You congratulate your friend who roots hard
(02:12):
all year as if I did anything, but the psychological messages,
the feedback. Hey, you dealt with it day in and
day out. There was a point in time not too
long ago where you were going to quit the Mets,
but I stuck it out. I stuck it out, I know.
So congratulations to you and all the New York Mets
fans and of course Pete Alonso, Polar Bear, Pete and
(02:34):
the New York Mets. Yeah, it was honestly, I said
this to you earlier today, and I wasn't bs and you.
I don't think I've ever reacted to a sports play,
home run, catch shot, anything like that in my life.
In my life, dude, I was. I was in kindergarten
(02:54):
when the Mets won the World Series. I was just
a little kid, like Yeah, Gary Cutter, you gotta say
kindergarten makes it seem like it's a further lie, Rookie Wilson,
not good like I was. I was just a little
boy in kindergarten. I was in kindergarden, So you know
this to me, not to be a prisoner of the moment.
First time ever someone hits a go ahead home run
(03:15):
in the ninth inning of a playoff game. That's right
in Major League Baseball history. He Alonso according to where
we used to work us and why, and it's just
one of the best stats. Is the first player in
MLB history with a go ahead home run while trailing
in the ninth or later of a winner take off
postseason game. And we saw it happen. I didn't think
(03:37):
it was gonna happen. That's also what makes it that exciting.
Let me keep this in mind for everybody. I'm not
a Mets fan from New York, New Jersey, from the
East Coast. I'm a Yankees guy. I'm sitting there watching
and I'm like, ah man, it's done. Yeah, and that's losses.
And I felt somber, felt like that that funeral sort
of feeling, really, yeah, it's over. Oh with the one
(03:59):
solo home run, and then when the next batter a
home run Jesus and my brother hit me up and
he's like, ah man, the Mets are done another one,
and I'm like, yeah, well yeah, maybe oh. And then
when Pete A. Lonzo dropped the pop up yeah by
first base, You're like, oh, they felt it unraveling. You're like, oh, man, dude,
(04:20):
the fact that they won that game after all, that
is what made it that much more exciting and memorable.
And I think that goes down as well one of
the greatest Mets highlights for sure. But just as a
baseball fan, man, it's right up there with the best
of them. Even if the Mets don't go on to
win even the next series, I think it's it's one
of the better moments in baseball. And I'll hand it
(04:42):
over to you Rich because I want to know exactly
your thoughts and how you felt. But I feel like baseball.
I mean, it was a bigger game, but baseball out
shine in the NFL last night when the NFL had
a great night. That was a crazy game. It's a
rare moment because we talked about how the NFL is
king everywhere he turned social media, espn FS one everywhere
(05:02):
is it was did you see what Pete Alonzo did?
Like Yo, that's the magic of baseball. That's why I
love baseball. And I hate to say this as a
Yankees fan, that was a very magical like Yankees type
of moment for the Mets last night. But when the
Yankees were on their dynasty. It was like magical, ridiculous
moments like that that you could never believe what happened.
That's what was happening, right, That's what happened for your Mets.
(05:24):
And not only would Pee Alonzo with Lindor a few
games ago. So it's been a great week for you met.
Met fans are all sharing in the sentiment that two
of arguably your top five to ten highlights of all
time have come in the last three days. I wouldn't
argue that. It's like what's going on? So just a
fun time to be a Mets fan. And to back
(05:45):
you up, we all agree. NFL is king Kirk Cousins
through for over five hundred yards last night, and that
was like the backstory, dude, I do like that. I
thought that game was great. I watched the highlights and
was aggravated that those games run at the same time
because I would have loved watching both. I think Cousins
reminded everybody why he's still that guy, you know what
(06:07):
I mean, lovable but lethal At the same time, he's
one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. Five hundred
and nine yards man and Baker played his ass.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I was just gonna say, Covin and don't forget the
gutsy performance by Baker because he got twisted like a
pretzel and came back to play.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
No Shaman Baker's game. That guy, that team. I still think, Oh,
it's gonna come down. I think it'll come down to
those two teams. To be honest, last night, I think
that NFC South is Falcons Bucks and it'll be close
at the end of the year.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Baker a very efficient nineteen to twenty four hundred and
eighty yards, three touchdowns, no picks, but he's going to
be outshined by Kirk d Cousins. It was amazing forever.
This was an all time Thursday night football game. It
was incredibly the greatest I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
If you're a sports fanily last night your phone was
going crazy with your buddies hitting you up with are
you watching this? And it was either the Mets or
that football game last night. Both were amazing. It was
the most memorable Thursday Night in all sports that I've
had in a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I had both games on rich I had your Mets
on my phone and I had Thursday Night Football on
my big screen and it was awesome to hear Al
Michael's voice raise a couple of octaves a couple of
times throughout that game.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
He he got excited.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Let's go over some observations to your takeaways from last night.
There's so much to get to between that game and
of course the Mets win. You know, I really loved
John Boys breakdown of what happened. You had Devin Williams
in there. The Brewers were in perfect position to win
that game, right, Devin Williams with his fastball and change up.
To change up is his deadly pitch. The dude was on.
(07:41):
He's always on. He's a great reliever, a great pitcher.
But John Boys breakdown pointed out how someone in the
Mets dugout who was that? That told polar Bear Pete, like, yo,
that's the change up. He was tipping his pitches. He
was tipping his pitches, and the slightest you could tell
(08:02):
when he was throwing the fastball because he would have
his hand real hard into the glove and it was
closer to his face. The change up, you know, he
has to have his full his full palm around the ball,
a looser grip, a little lower toward the face. You
see this interaction someone in the Mets dugout has with
Peter Alonzo. He's like, yo, that's the change up. Peter
Alonzo knows the change You see them acknowledgement to you,
(08:23):
like yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. And what did Peter Alonzo
hit a home run off of that change up that
nobody hits off of? I thought that was awesome And
if you missed it, I don't know which call was
the best call. It had to be how he rose
on the Mets Radio network.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Bringing one to Alonzo, William sets here's the pitch swing
on a fly ball to right field, pretty well hits frailt.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Back at the wall.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
He jumps. That's done.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Ha hate dada. Peyt Alonzo with the most favorable home
run of his career.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Pop says, fast as a round second.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
That's a three run of homer.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
He's given the Bets a three to to lad. They
all pour out of the dugout. Alonso want us wait
a home plate? They're away for him. Hey hecks the plate.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
He his first, congratulated by Nimmo Hunk buttling door Dozin
Mets waiting for him outside the dugout. Peyton Alonzo keeps
this fairy tail season going with a fairy tail swing
of his career straight to two.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
They ar wow.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
And then on the plane ride back, Howie Rose walks
up and down the aisle of the plane. Did you
see that clip? No, and all the Mets start hugging
him in fiving them. Man, oh, I didn't see that.
I saw every clip. But man, again, not a Mets fan,
just a baseball fan. And I'm smiling ear to ear
listening to that, and I couldn't blieve my eyes everything
about that moment. If you're a Mets fan or a
(09:44):
baseball fan, if you're a Brewers fan, man, I feel
terrible for you, guys, Dan Byer, you know, we'll talk
to you throughout the day. I feel bad for any
Brewers fan. But everything was perfect about it. Dude, Pete Alonzo,
we talked about it yesterday. Take a listen to what
we said on yesterday show minutes before the game, Polar
Bear Pete Alonzo, if he wants big boy money, if
he wants that contract that his agent Scott Morris and
(10:07):
everyone's talking about. If you think Pete Alonzo's elite, you
know what elite doesn't do bat one over the final
two weeks of the season when the Mets were chasing
a wildcard. Now that they're in the wildcard, when Pete
Alonzo's as cold as ice, that's no way to show
the world you're the guy Wells. I heard Dan Patrick
say in regards to Pete Rose, you can't spell compete
(10:31):
without Pete well I don't know if that applies to Alonzo. Hey,
hopefully tonight, Oh wow, hopefully tonight.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
What's the little say? Maybe maybe polar bear, Pete hits
a bomb, maybe bear, Maybe polar repeat is the bomb?
That was yes Yeah, talk about nore Davis, even though
my greatest takeaway was that compete line. Somebody isolate that
send that off to the press. Good one. Yeah, Now
(10:58):
that was yesterday. So for Pete Alonzo to get up
in that moment, you're thinking to yourself, Man, he's either
gonna strike strike out, which what I was thinking. I
was thinking ground into a double play or yeap over
his back. I wasn't thinking he's gonna step up. And
he steps up, and he does that, and then he
does the French kiss. He does the kiss, the chef's
(11:19):
kiss the French. He French kissed the first face coach,
he does the chef's kiss, and so if the Italian
kiss Pete Alonzo the why and he's pumped up, let
s effing go. I mean, dude, you can't beat that moment.
It's one of the best moments. And there's so many
other things to speculate on. Not only was Devin Williams
(11:42):
tipping off his pitches and he's gonna hate himself when
he sees that, because the Mets knew what was coming.
When you see those highlights, You're like, yo, they knew
they knew what was coming there. How about the fact
that the outfielder really never had a shot at that
he hit the wall before he even had a chance
to jump. I found fascinating because I've seen this done
at Cityfield and other stadiums. I'm sure Dan Bayer doesn't
(12:05):
want to say anything about yesterday's game, but in right field,
that lower area where fans are, was that in addition
to the field, Because at City Field, with the Mets
play a couple of years ago, they brought the outfield
in maybe ten feet to make like a special fan zone,
and I felt like they had done that.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Yeah, well it's not new, but it was not when
they built Miller Park. That was not a part of it.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
That ball hits the wall if not for the fan
zone and the weird angle of the fence made it
impossible for your outfielder to even attempt a juke. He
sort of ran into the corner, hits the corner and
that's it. He didn't even make a real effort to
even get it. As a result, they put it in.
Speaker 6 (12:46):
After Mister three thousand, that great movie.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Not just kidding.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
It probably was after the movie, but yeah, yeah, it
was not original to the ballpark.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
So last night just a wild night, one of the
few nights where baseball sort of took the lead over
the NFL. And did even see Brandon Nimo that ridiculous
story where an hour before the game he found out
his grandmother had passed away, but he didn't tell anyone
on the team because he wanted to learn the lesson
(13:17):
that you got to live life to the full list.
And you know, everything about last night just felt ridiculously
magical after that story, the headlines today or the other
side stories where how much these Mets players actually care
for one another, you know, and you see that, and
I give credit to Lindor. I feel like this guy
really changed the whole culture of the Mets. Pete Alonso
(13:37):
steps up big and he's a big superstar and he's
the hero of the day and all that, but I
really feel like Lindor is that glue, and he's the
guy who really has become a Met and loves that team.
They're feeding off of that, and you know, I think
a lot of those players as a result, they were
there for Nimo as a result, and they feel for
this guy, and you see that connection, you see that chemistry,
and you can't buy that. So I think they're pretty
(13:57):
dangerous moving forward. Rich I'm excited for you asked me earlier,
when did I think it was over? And when did
I feel like they had a pulse a little heartbeat
when DB's Brewers hit those back to back home runs.
Buto had had been so good a couple of days prior,
and then I was like, oh, he had earned his
keyp because I looked at his stats. He was He's
(14:18):
the Bhuto is the type of reliever that's been back
and forth Triple A big League, Triple A Big leagues,
and I'm like, after the other day, I said, he'll
be in the pen next year. I think he earned it,
and then last night I'm like no. And on the
flip side, I do want to say it is tough
for the Brewers because they do have such a young,
such a great young team. That guy Cheerio, Yeah, oh
(14:39):
my god, he's going to be a star. I think
twenty years old. Heartbreaking, heartbreaker. But on the flip side, man,
what a moment for Alonzo and the manager of the Brewers, Murphy,
what a class act, just saying like, hey, listen, it's
not us. What can we do? The Mets three best players, Lindor,
Nimo and Alonso did what they're paid to do. What
(15:01):
can you do with I love that.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
I tell what you could do? Score more runs in
the first eight innings, you know, I like you're playing
with fire when it's one nothing to nothing to that point. Yeah,
Lin Door.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Takes the last play double play, which by the way,
was awesome. Just how the game ended was awesome. Everything
was awesome, except for the final call from Bob Yucher,
which I heard I think Doug Cottlee play earlier. Bob
yucker makes the call and it almost makes you want
to cry, you know. So I do feel for the
Brewers fans. It was a heartbreaker, but what an exciting night.
And again this is from an unbiased person who just
likes baseball, and I thought that was a great moment.
(15:35):
But the only downside was there was two great things
going on at once. Honestly, I don't want to complain
and be the negative, nor Berto. Maybe that's why you
need an extra TV Like no, no, it's true, and
that's why we're going to do our Riches big extra
TV Game of the Week later on in the show.
But you don't mean to tell me rich that there
was a part of you. It's like you knew what
was going on and you were like going back and forth.
It was kind of sort of annoying that you had
(15:57):
to deal with two awesome things at once. I didn't
even know what happened in the football game until the
Mets game was over, and then I'm like, oh my god,
I missed exactly. I missed a great football game. And
then I realized my parlay hit and my teaser. But
yesterday we talked about that. You could say, hey, we're
fortunate it was in a magical night. It was a
little alloying that they were both on at the same time. Yeah,
no doubt.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
Can I just ask you a question because I've not
wanted to rain on your parade in the first seventeen
minutes of the show, And don't worry, I won't start now.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
And dB, you did a great job for SUREB I
hate being on the air when my team loses. So
it happens with the Niners every year when they choke
in the playoffs, So I feel you.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
I'll tell you. What was interesting, though, is before the show,
Rich came up to me and we're talking about it goes.
Don't you like just have some sort of appreciation for
that moment and it was such a foreign concept, Like
I don't know who would like I'm still mad at
Danny's Raiders in bo Jackson running into the tunnel in
nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
When you're to your team, I still can feel the appreciation.
Maybe you're like, weird, I can't do it.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
I don't think you like seeing Dave Roberts swipe second
in Game four, Like that's not a good you don't.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
I'll give you a great example when in O six
when my my dude, Carlos Beltran watched Adam Waynwright throw
the perfect curveball of all time, Game seven and the
Mets lost a little time passes. I'm like, man, that
was the sickest curveball. Every props to Wayneright, Like, sometimes
you gotta just tip your hat a little different. I'm
not that if that were to happen, it still takes
(17:23):
a lot of time. I wish It's like I sort
of wish my ex girlfriends luck in their life. Like
sometimes like you know, you know some people are just
like no, I'll never get over it. Yeah, I agree
with Dan Byer. There you're an exception. I wouldn't have
any joy or respect for that moment. You know what
I don't do. I will say this. I pride myself
on not being an a hole fan. I would never
(17:45):
be like Damn Bayer ninety ninety poo poo. I may
yell Dan, I'm sorry, bro, all good.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
Thanks for not sending me a polar Bear emoji like
Ia Sam did call him the New York Sam. He's
a big Sam. He'll Sam, I'll say, between.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
You and called me big Apple Sham. She uh let
me tell you because I remember we're down the streets.
They're calling you big Apple Sam because you said the
ending of the Mets game was better than the ending
of the Falcons game. I didn't. We were all we
all agreed that it was.
Speaker 6 (18:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Well, my point is I'm not wanting to rub it
in so I could see where Dan Bayer wants to
strangle you, because when when people hit me up on
social media or text me when my team is losing
with like almost say ha ha, or like yeah what's
the score? I don't want to punch him in the nose. Okay,
So I can only imagine, well, dB, who's you know.
(18:37):
I know that's not his number one sport, but his
Brewers didn't lose. You're sending him polar bear emotion. Was celebrating.
I wasn't putting down Dan or the Brewers. I was
just celebrating the Mets. Why we're all we all have
to be a little take them off the chat.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
I have a group chat with Dan, Doug and Jason
Stewart and we were all to I was texting, mostly
me about the NFL game and and the Mets game
and sorry.
Speaker 6 (19:01):
Then there was it was a polar bear, and then
it was just Pete with an explanation point.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Tone deaf as they said, I am not I'm not
one to text people when their teams are losing, Rubbin,
I'm not that person. But last night exception, I wasn't.
I wasn't trying to make Dan feel that I was
just celebrating the Mets. I was uplifting Rich and I
was kind of without Rich on the text chain. But
you know, to me, I even said, I'm not as
(19:28):
big of a Brewer fan as rich as a Mets fan.
It's Baseball's falling off in my life as I've gotten older.
But the effort to stick it to me, you know
by Iowa Sam. If my Hawkeye somehow upset your Buckeyes
tomorrow you will not hear a word from me.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Right, Hey, do you think kirk Cousins getting big time
by the moment and that's unfair? Is he getting overshadowed
by the magical Polar Bear Pete story? Are we just
prisoners of the moment? Is he being Remember when Farah
Fawcett passed away and no one really talked about it
because Michael Jackson died the same day. It's a good
question because is there are enough people acknowledging what Kirle
(20:02):
Cousins did listen All Time Performance more, people still care
way more about the NFL. It just this was such
a big baseball moment. They really were. Baseball pretty much
tied the NFL last night, in my mind, and that's
a rarity for sure.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
Would it have been the same if the situations were reversed,
if the Brewers did that to the Mets.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
I think if it was a marquee player the under
the microscope, like a Pete, a Lonzo last game, he's
a free agent, could this be his last? A bad
as a Met he's been struggling, And yeah, depends what
Brewer was. I think. I think polar bear Pede is
popular enough where people knew what he was capable of
in that moment I came through.
Speaker 6 (20:41):
I think the New York angle pushes that. If it
was Red's pirates, I don't know if we're as crazy
about it as we are.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
And you know what the Mets are. The Mets are
a big underdog in baseball. They played Crosstown from the Yankees.
The Mets have a legacy have always met, they met,
you know, the Mets are gonna met, you know, much
like the Jets in certain teams. So I think when
a team that always is on the receiving end of Yeah,
they blew it. When they come out on top, it's
sort of like, wow.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
That was and that was the point that we had
just talked about earlier, was they're an underdogs to the Yankees,
but to the rest of baseball, the Mets aren't looked
like that.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, we don't won a World Series since we were
been to one in.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
The last ten years. You know, you were there in
two thousand and so, like I still and I think
that in baseball, probably more so in any other sports
because the NBA doesn't have this problem anymore, the small
market and large market. There is such a divide to it.
So whether you like it or not, I feel like
the Mets, just because of New York in front of that,
are a part of that. In the NBA, we've had
(21:41):
small market teams win, you know, a bunch, But in baseball,
I still think that there's a huge divide.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
If they're not underdogs, I feel they just blew some opportunities.
I'm in my forties, I'm in my forties. The Mets
have been to the postseason less than ten times.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Sure, so, and in your world that you live in,
you're always playing second fiddle. To the Yankees, or it
feels like that. I guess so's it's understandable in a way.
Speaker 1 (22:04):

on the phones at eight seven seven ninety nine. L
Fox Big Apple. Say they call you Big Apple Sam,
Big Apple Sam or Big Crab Apple Sam, you know,
Big Apple Sam on the Apple series because apparently he
(24:08):
just loved that Mets moment last night. It's so much
so rubbed everybody the wrong way in the process, means
so much so. Not only did he congratulate me as
a fan, he decided to, you know, send an emoji
of a polar bear to Brewers fan. Damn baya. So
I was saying, way to go, buddy, And of course
uh s body on the videos with Elijah and the
crew at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. DB's
(24:30):
got your updates in a few minutes, but lots to
get to on today's show. Still we got your solar
power parlay Rich, Right, we have your big TV big heads,
big TV Game of the week yep, and weekend hobnobbing.
What you need to watch this weekend in the world
of sports and entertainment. We do that every Friday. But
still coming down from last night. Actually today is a
(24:52):
nice breather Friday. Today, it feels like a nice breather
as we get into the Divisional Series Baseball. You said
it in some football this weekend, you said it early.
It's a fantastic opportunity to go out on a date night,
go out for some drinks or a nice dinner with
your wife or girlfriend or family. Because the knowledge your kids. Yeah,
because this weekend, maybe you got Saturday and Sunday mornings, soccer, softball,
(25:15):
whatever you have with your little rugrats, and then you
got playoff baseball, college football, NFL football. I played on
doing a lot of sitting on my ass this weekend.
The Divisional series just stacked throughout the day. Yes, and
one last note about the Mets, and then don't worry,
you don't have to hear this long island kid, get
alongside of it. Was a big moment, dude. But the
(25:38):
surprise that came today was Game one tomorrow in Philadelphia,
Carlos Mendoza announced his starting pitcher and we were all like,
who's it gonna be? Who are they going to tomorrow?
They they used a lot of their starters and the
pen who's going Code Senga And apparently he's all fired
up about it, and he said, if they need me
(25:59):
to pitch ten pitch, I will. If they want me
to throw two hundred, I will. I'm ready to go.
So the ghost pitch. The Ghost Cody Sanga, who's been
injured practically the whole year coming back for the NLDS
now so you get four games tomorrow. Yeah, and I
can't wait. If you have any of the observations on
the football game last night again a great one, a
(26:20):
classic last night, or the baseball game you hit us
up at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox or
at Covino and Rich. We're live from the ti rack

Big thanks, big ups to rapid radios dot com. All right, well,
let me let me put everyone in the room in
a good mood. I'm ready in a good one and
sucker and take it away from my mes for a second.
But let me ask you what sports moment in the
last twenty years, let's let's narrow it down twenty years
(27:04):
has gotten you the most excited. And I bring that
up because I really was a little poudy guy. I
turned the TV off in the living room and I
went to the bedroom and I put it on the
bedroom TV. My kids were laughing and being all silly,
and I'm like, I don't want to be running anything.
You're being a little sports baby.
Speaker 6 (27:21):
A little bit.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
I was like, I just told you, I don't want
to want sucking your thumb. And I just didn't want
the ending to be while my kids were all happy
with their friends in the house, and you know, I
was like that dad's dipping away. When Lindor got on
with the leadoff walk, I felt. I was like, I'm like,
oh my god, they got a pulse, heartbeat, venta strikes out.
(27:43):
I'm like, all right, and maybe they don't. All takes
is one swing now because I got a guy on
when Nimo got that base, and I'm like, first and third, No,
Pete Alonso can't be. I posted my reaction at rich
Davis on Instagram. I lost my damn mine. I ran
out of the house. Standable. This highlight lives on. That's
what I was getting that even if they don't win,
(28:04):
this highlight lives on. Most highlights they go away when
your team, you know, doesn't make it all the way.
This one will last. This one will last I think so,
especially for the Mets fans. I think I screamed out,
are you eving kidding me? Like ten times? And I
felt no reaction to my house, like where is everyone?
My family was walking out my daughter's friend because the
dad came to pick up the kid, and I ran
(28:25):
in the driveway in my boxer briefs and a met
t shirt. I'm like A and I'm like the other
parents and I'm like, I'm sorry, I got my underwear on.
Now you know what just happened. They think you're a
raging pervert now. So I was like, let me go
put on some pants. We're never sending Sydney back to
that house. So the dad and the daughter came in.
They're like, well, watch you into the game with you.
I'm like, A, right, let me go put on some pants.
Speaker 6 (28:47):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
And so you're asking, you know, based on that magical moment,
and I agree it was Rich is not alone. It
was an exciting one. What are those moments for you
in the past twenty years? I got one, actually, you know,
I just thought of it right now. I want to
also tell people if they want to see a ridiculous
video at Covine on Rich for some reason. You know,
you always trying to create memories for your kids. Right,
(29:10):
every time one of my teams has a big moment
and I'm excited, my kids think, oh, dadd are you
gonna jump in the pool with your clothes on? Because
I did that one time during a forty nine Ers
win in the playoffs. So anytime my team wins a
playoff game, which is in common, my kids expect, oh,
Dad's going to jump in the pool with his clothes on.
(29:31):
So I had to keep that tradition alive. And to
see my kids all excited about it, I was like, ah, yeah, sure,
I did it for the GRAM. And it's like hot
out here in La so it's not like a bit.
It's not like a polar punge punch. Did it for
the GRAM, Hey at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio.
So I got to him. You said, twenty years, right,
I'll give it. I'll extend the twenty five thirty years. Yeah,
let's just keep it simple. Twenty years. So in the
(29:55):
past twenty years, I'd have to say, I have to acknowledge,
even though I've been spoil the Yankees fan, I gotta
acknowledge Hideki Matsui's performance in the two thousand and nine
World Series. That team was stacked eight rod to share
it like they had everybody Jeter, but that's when Hitdeki
Matsui stepped up. They won. It was special for me
(30:15):
because I became a dad on the second and they
won on November fourth, two thousand and nine. That really
was special for me. So for me personally, last week
Your Life right, was that the most exciting? Was there
this one particular moment? No, but they won the World
Series and they haven't won it since, So for me,
I gotta throw that into the conversation. But one where
I was sitting there like a little baby, like rich,
(30:35):
like not expecting anything great to happen, and then all
of a sudden, like whoa, I feel fine saying this
because I think I'm gonna be the only guy that's
gonna say it. But it was, I believe June one,
twenty nineteen, and I called a bunch of my friends, Yo,
you guys want to watch the fight. No one gave
a Diddley squad about it. I'm watching this fight by myself.
(30:59):
And it was Anthony Joshua versus Andy Ruiz now Andy
Ruiz is this Mexican cholo doe boy that nobody knew
at the time, But I knew he had some heavy hands,
and I also knew that there was no such thing
as a Mexican heavyweight champion. There was no such thing. Yeah,
do you remember Chris Ariola was the closest to come
(31:20):
to it, But I was watching it. I knew it
was a big fight translation Chris nipples. Yes, yes, Chris
the Nightmare Ariola, and he never came through. So I'm
watching Andy Ruiz fight Anthony Joshua, who at the time
seemed invincible, this UK superstar, right, and Chubby asked Andy Ruiz,
who they said looked like the little chubby kid from
(31:41):
the movie up in the Little Boy Scout. Andy Ruiz
looked like he just got done having some flout us
when he finished those flaunted us and then finished off
Anthony Joshua in that moment, because I thought for sure
he was going to be knocked out and lose, I
sprung out of my bed because I just would have
(32:02):
never expected it. And I know no one else is
gonna understand unless you're a fight fan. But because I
didn't expect that, nobody expected it, and I saw it
happen live. I remember like being so pumped in that moment.
For me at the moment, I'll never forget the past
twenty years, Big Mica runs his place. Yeah, he said, uh,
nineteen ninety five when UCLA the Coast to Coast Tias
(32:24):
Edney lay up in the to send them to the
Sweet sixteen Ucla Tew Big Mike, that's twenty nine years ago.
I didn't give them a time frame. Oh, I didn't
give the Big Mic a timeframe.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Isn't he supposed to be on vacation. I'm out here
texting you from Mexico.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
But I get it, like there's gonna be more magical
moments than one I just described. But I remember just
not expecting that to happen for the forty nine ers.
Probably last year when the Lions had a twenty four
to seven lead and they came back. Well, he has
dp me. Dan, your Seahawks won a Super Bowl, but
that game was sort of a blowout. When when they
beat my Niners on the yo crap trees got nothing.
(33:01):
Richard Sherman, was that like one of your most exciting
moments as a face?
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (33:05):
Absolutely. If you went to the twenty five years, it
would be Ohio State beating Michigan. Yeah, and then going
to the Fiesta Bowl and upsetting Miami and doing it
on a goal line stand in double overtime. But the
Seahawks head back to back ones because remember the next
year they also went with the played the Packers in
the game that the overtime.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Oh, that was the most insane game. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
So while I was crazy going with the Sherman interception,
I vividly remember in the overtime when Russell Wilson dropped
back and the ball was halfway in the air. It
just then it hit him like he's gonna catch it
and they're going to win because he had single coverage.
You're like, you're not throwing that pass unless he's open,
and and he did. And then they threw the ball
(33:47):
on the one yard by the next you know, two
weeks later. But the being in that NFC Championship game
in back to back, here's two enormous moments in tight games.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Oh, no doubt. When when green Bay muff that on
side kick, you must have been spinning around like a man.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
Yeah, you remember they actually took the lead in green
Bay went down and kicked a field goal to tie
it to go into overtime. Yeah, well it was crazy,
crazy final five.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Man a little this magic moment? What was yours in
the past twenty years? And again we're Covino and Rich
live from the tyrack dot com studio. Let's do an
update with the world famous dB Dan bud I only
to hear what Big Apple Sam's Moment's going to be
from the NYC. But we'll get to that later. We'll
get some news Danny's Raiders.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
In the news is DeVante Adams, who's posting cryptic Edgar
Allen poll messages on Instagram. W Josina Anderson, a longtime
NFL insider, says nothing is going on between the Ravens
and Raiders, a possible trade for Adams. He's been ruled
out of their game against Denvers and Mere White also
not going to play for the Raiders. In that AFC
West showdown, Packers say that wide receivers Romeo Dobbs and
(34:52):
Christian Watson are doubtful to face the Rams. Rams wide
receiver Cooper Cup's not going to play against Green Bay
Giants ruled out myleak neighbors against the Seahawks, while running
back Devin Singletary is doubtful. Cowboys will not have Micah
Parsons against the Steelers, while Pittsburgh listed Russell Wilson as
questionable and ruled out running backs Jalen Warren and Cordero Patterson.
Rich Your Niners have the Cardinals coming up on Sunday.
(35:13):
George kill and Kittle and Fred Warner are questionable. The
Cardinals are getting Trey McBride back from his concussion.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Did you see the fun story with the Niners requested
to wear their road white jerseys because it's supposed to
be like one hundred degrees and the Cardinals are choosing
to wear white at home because it's going to be
so hot in Arizona.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
And so the Cardinals got their way, right, It got
their way.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Because of the home team. So the Niners are wearing
red on the road. Wow, isn't it a isn't a dome?
It's an a air conditioning there? I thought the game
was in Santa Clara. Is that what I Yeah, the
forty nine is requested to wear white and they weren't allowed.
That was what it was. So they're not getting to
wear at home my bed. Yeah, that's that would be
weird to se fix it up. Yeah, no, that's all right.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
It'd be weird to see them though in white at
home because yeah, they just I know other teams have
done at Dolphins do it at the time. Well when
it's like that. But Trey McBride, as I said, cleared,
he's going to play two baseball notes. You said Kodai
Senga is going to start for the Mets in Game
one tomorrow. Joe Musker over the Padres will lead Tommy
John surgery. He had to leave Game two against the
(36:12):
Braves because of elbow discomfort, something he'd been dealing with
throughout the entire season, had multiple issues with it. Now
he will miss not only this postseason but probably all
of the next year. That's me speculating, But Joe Musker
over the Padres needs Tommy John surgery.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Guys, back to you, No, thanks, d B, Thank you Dan.
All Right, Well the best part of football season checking
out the post game stats. Which wideout is going to
score more than two tutties, which QB threw for lesser
more than three hundred and fifty yards. Think you could

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Man, what a great night for sports, like I said
the only downside was oh man, I'm missing some of
this game. And I kept bouncing around, going back and forth.
Some great football as well. Man Kirk Cousins put on
a show I think proven to everybody, a reminding, reminding
everybody that he's on a different level, different caliber of quarterback.
Covino and Rich Steve Cavino, Rich Davis, Iowa, Samuel Danny
(38:06):
g No, no, Big Apples. I'm sorry, Big Apple. Sam.
We're live from tiraq dot com studio. You know we
you and I were talking about earlier. Not only was
the call great by how He Rose. If you're a
fan of your local announcers, he boarded the team plane
and they played it on the speakers in the plane
as he walked up and down the aisle like high
(38:27):
five in the players. How he Rose put it in
the books. Has been a Mets announcer for our whole
life practically so Rich, speaking of your Mets, Yeah, I'm
getting the vibe. There's a bad boy on the team
and coming up before a weekend hobnobbing and all the
other stuff we do on Fridays. Start thinking about this
besides your magical moments and other things we could touch
(38:48):
on does every team need a bad boy, a villain
of sorts? But right now it is time for Rich's
Solar Power Porlay, brought to you by DraftKings. Don't forget
to download the DraftKings sportsbook app and use code CR show.
That's code CR show. And download the new DraftKings Pick

(39:09):
New customers five dollars on your first pick set get
fifteen Pick six credits only on DraftKings Pick six. The
crown is yours. Let's do it. I'm sorry, Big Apple Sam.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
It's time to parlay into your weekend. Rich Davis loves parlays.
You're making money and he loves his new solar panels
solar board. DraftKings my Solar Power Parlay. Oh raight lose
You're making money, honey, can't lose. I mean you could lose,
but hey, gamble at your own resk. But here's what
I'm doing. I'm gonna give you my Friday three for
(39:44):
three money line parlay. That's what we've been rolling with
a Friday dB. Thanks for the correction, and Big Apple Sam.
The forty nine ers are at home this weekend.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
They tried to get the NFL to allow them to
wear they're all white uniforms because of the excessive heat
in the Bay Area in Santa Clara this weekend. But
the NFL said, no, you had to make that decision
before the season. No mid season uniform adjustment, So the
forty nine ers can't get that white jersey advantage. Yeah
all right, Well, hey, here's the parlay we're going with Rams.
(40:16):
You heard dB Cooper cup still out that team. I mean,
they look good against the Niners, but since have looked
like a team that is, you know, without some of
their key stars. They're playing the Packers the games in LA,
but as you know, Packer fans travel so that I
imagine half that crowd will be green at so far.
So I like Packers money line at the Rams. We
(40:36):
got the Packers. Jordan love little bounce back game. They
had a close one, almost almost came back last week
against Minnesota, right Dolphins Patriots a battle of the garbage
two one to three teams, even though there have been
signs of you know, maybe the Patriots are in as
bad as we think. I think even without Tua, even
with a confusing quarterback situation, I think Mike McDaniel's fine
(41:00):
way to win in New England. You're right, that is
as of now, Michael. You know so I'm going Dolphins
money line, Hackers money line. And as much as I
like Joe Burrow, as much as I like is Eminem
hair Eminem gonna be your granddaddy, I like the Ravens
money line. Even though the game's in Sincy, I'm taking
(41:24):
I'm taking road teams this week. So you might say, oh,
that's a little tricky. But Packers, Dolphins and then Radio
Silver Cincinnata Patriots haven't won at home yet. I don't
think so this will be their first home win, So
I don't like the Pats. I like Packers, Dolphins, Ravens.
There you have it. That's your three team parlay for
this weekend, right, anyone stand out more than the others?
(41:45):
Three riches solar power parlay. I mean, Packers should be
able to handle the Rams, right. That steam seems obvious,
but then again, nothing's obvious. Dolphins Patriots, Hey, Dolphins will
edge out the Pats if they want any shot at
the postseason, right, And of course Ravens. I like the
Burrow's doing, but man, Ravens might be too good. All right,
(42:05):
we have more necks seeing r
