at prop Bets, DraftKings sportsbook for Super Bowl fifty nine,
and I don't know, as much as I love what
Saquon's doing, you don't think there's some type of game
plan to contain him a bit?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
So I might like the under one hundred and ten
and a half yards Like you.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Don't think everybody had some sort of game plan to
contain him.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
But maybe maybe maybe you say, if you're the Chiefs defense,
maybe you say, hey, listen, let's make DeVante Smith, let's
make Jalen Hurts with his arm beat you. And maybe
you just load the box a little more than usual.
So I like under one ten.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
How are you feeling about the over under in this
Super Bowl? You think there's going to be a lot
of points scored by both squads?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Or I are you leaning under? Dude?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Call me clueless, Joe Jackson, because as of right now,
the Chiefs are favored by one or one and a half,
but the over under forty eight and a half because
if I told you, Danny, what's the final score on
twenty seven to twenty, that's within a point of the
over under. If you told me twenty four to twenty,
I'd say under. But then you can't. You can't see
these teams going off. Of course you can, I'd.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Go, well, I'll go.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
I hate to tell you what other people are saying,
because it really doesn't matter. Matters what we think, right,
But if they are expecting a blowout, let's say a
blowout happens, they're saying it's more likely to be the
Eagles with a blowout, Eagles winning in the ball, Eagles winning. Yeah,
because I agree with that, because of their you know,
their ground game and say Quon and everything else.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
So hey, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Like we said before, no one knows, but we're getting
closer to it and we're very excited again Live from
New Orleans, Covino and Rich. Now before Bejon Robinson gets here,
you want to hear some late breaking stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
I do.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
I'm doing the scroll here, keep scrolling, scroll and sco
and scoll In on my phone on social media, and
Ring Magazine is saying that Canello Crawford is off. The
Ring Magazine has learned that what the anticipated fight between
Canelo Alvarez and Terrence Crawford has been called off.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Thoughts, I think that's weak as hell's thought off, but
also in conjunction with Canelo Jake Paul being on.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Well, Ariel Helwani are good pal and Ring Magazine also
are saying that Jake Paul versus Canelo Alvarez is definitely
being discussed and has been for some time. However, reports
are that it's a done deal that's premature at this time,
is still developing.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
That's wild.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
So it's actually really interesting to see that a legitimate
fight is off, but a fight with Jake Paul is on.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
It goes to show you the culture.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Where it is that is well, you know, I would love
the opinion of the dude to the right of me.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Well, let's give him a prom for intro here number
seven running back for the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Bejon Rob everybody. Yo, we just learned that.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I don't know, if you follow the fight game, it
all Canelo Alvarez, Terrence Crawford. They're saying that fights off
and the Canelo j Paul things looks more likely.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Yeah, that's developing. Influencer Boxing take it over. What's your thoughts.
I think Canelo is dominant. Yeah, yeah, you know, I
get it.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Jake Paul's really, you know, really good at fighting, and
you know he's done a good job.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
But fighting Canelo, that's right. There are people that say
that might be like a one round deal. That doesn't
look too sweet to me. It is prize fighting.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
I think Canelo is just saying, hey, if you want
to give me your thirty forty million dollars easy money,
I'll take it and then I'll fight Crawford whenever.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, so I would definitely do that. Hey, thanks for
being here. I love the Nirvana T shirt. I love it.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
And he's shown a lot of MANTHI here, man, I
know you gotta show.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Off beacheon Robinson or man thought. I tell you you
look great. Thank you for stopping by. Hey, first time
meeting you.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Man.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
I got to ask you, Yeah, what inspired you to
play football? And at what point did you realize I'm
really good at this one age?
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Yeah, your little kid. I just know, like you know,
God definitely blessed me to play the sport. You know,
I obviously played for him, so it's it's been amazing,
but it was really when I was like four years old,
four or five years old playing flag football and just
I mean I ran backwards the first carry.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Uh so that was that was cool. Backfter that taunting
the people chasing you. No, I like this, he was
the wrong way.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Yeah yeah, yeah, I like I just ran backwards.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
I thought you were so fast that you're running backwards though,
four or five years old. My son starts t ball
next week, so now I'm going to be assessing every movie.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Make sure, just make sure, because my mom was like,
what is he doing? Like this might not be the sport,
but yeah, man, it's been. It's been something I just
love to do.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
That's so cool.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, Bijon, the first two years in the league over
twenty four hundred yards rushing, and uh, I think this
year between you, Saquon, you know, Derrick Henry, the running
back is.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Back, no doubt. I'm sorry this people are running around headphones.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
That was that something that you took as a compliment
when Sequon did you hear put you in his top three?
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (06:20):
I mean that was that was great, man, Like that
was awesome. Obviously, you know, he's been a guy leading
the charge this year and it's been fun to see
and you know, there's there's a lot of guys you
know that are right behind him that you know, he's
been elevating this position this whole season.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
And for me, like, I mean, you have.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
What four guys that were one hundred and some yards
away just from two thousands all purpose like or.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Two of us.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
So it was it was definitely a cool thing seeing
all the guys just just be great for the teams
and great for the NFL and being you know, try
to be the most opposite or most impactful off of
the players in the league.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Now when he's speaking so highly of you, yeah, you
know there is a brotherhood. You guys played the same position.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah. Does that mean you're rooting for him this weekend? Yeah? Absolutely?
Or him in particular are the Eagles?
Speaker 5 (07:05):
I mean nothing of the Eagles, but like, I really
want him to do really well. I think that'd be
really cool, just like finish the season off the right
way for running backs and to you know, show everybody
just the ability that what you can do for for
an offense and obviously his offensive line is is incredible,
but you know, just showing the gifts that he's been
given on the biggest stage it'd be pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Who as some of your role models on your come
up when you were a little kid, Like who influenced
your style as a player.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
So definitely like Ladani and Thomason LT. He's been the
guy that I used to watch a lot. And then
obviously like Reggie Bush at USC. I still have his
tapes because my grandpa he was a PAC ten officials,
so he would have all the games that he had when.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
He did USC, so that was great.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
And then like Leshaun McCoy is one of them, Like
he's a guy that I used to love to watch
run the football. And then Adrian Peterson, Like those are
the four guys that I was always like watching in
trying to study and trying to make moves off of them,
and it was pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Did they reach out to you though and tell you, man, hey,
we're proud of you. This is incredible. Yeah. Absolutely, that's
every single one of them.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
And I mean they've they've been just great mentors for
me and just always been shouting me out and it's
been it's been pretty cool time.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, yeah, I got I said you look cool in
that unify.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
I always feel like the Falcons uniform.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Yeah, pretty bad ass, right, pretty good, the little Red
High critical, pretty pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
So an eight and nine team not not the way
you wanted to finish the season.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
But a lot of times people say.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Eight and nine that's like football purgatory gets you're sort
of stuck right there, like play off.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
That in the like in the middle.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
But I feel like you guys are just like a
move or so away and you're and I'm not saying
your divisions are tough, but I thought you guys had
it this year. Yeah, you look forward to next you
and say, all right, dude, guys, we're like a couple
moves or adjustments away from really getting to that next
levels at your mindset.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Well, definitely, And for us, like you know, when we
do make those moves and whatever we do, I know
they're gonna do in the right in the right manner,
They're gonna do the right thing. They're gonna pick the
right people for this program, because I mean, and honestly,
like you know, we don't want to look too much ahead.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
But you know, I know that we play.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
You know, one day, in one game at a time,
but we're trying to you know, be the best team,
not just in the in the South, but like in
the NFL, hopefully and try to have, you know, the
kind of talent that can take us to that kind
of level, which I believe we were about to do.
And we're you know, gaining to have this offseason. So
you know, it's been it's been fun to see other teams,
you know, in the playoffs. It's it's definitely stunk, like
(09:21):
it's definitely hurt too, but hopefully we can we can
do some big things for that next year.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, Jean, we saw our buddy Pook and the Coup
the other day.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, he was saying how he sort of bummed to
say goodbye to Cooper Cup. They're boys, and you know
some of these deals, I'm guessing players find out when
we find out they like you're seeing stuff like Kirk
Cousins might get released and Penix might be officially your guy.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I know, are you gonna find out when we find out? Yeah? Yeah,
I mean that's that's exactly like.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
When what happened to the group chat after that? No,
I mean, well, Mike got got to name the starter.
Like we all find out found out on the internet.
It's like on on social media, Like that's how we
found out, So it was it's like little things like
that that I mean, obviously you can't control, but it's
you you find out when everybody else does.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
So what goes through your mind when you hear that
the Falcons or expect to cut Kirk Cousins? Do you
want to reach out? Are you just play it back?
You just wait what happens?
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Yeah, you just kind of just have to see what happens,
because I mean, obviously people could say like we're gonna
do this, this and this on social media, but it
might be false. Like and as much as you want
to reach out, you don't want to reach out because
you don't you don't want.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
To be that guy. Yeah, yeah, exactly, control.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Right, Yeah, So like honestly, you just kind of just
play the play, play the cards, see what's true.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
And just kind of waiting, all right. But the other
group chats, by the way, among teammates, you guys, just
the group chat, not really not really blue chats. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
We we kind of stay away from like outside source
things in the brew chat because we just we just
don't want to stare up anything or cause anything.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
What's your relationship with Pennix Junior. Yeah, I mean it's
it's a great relationship. Great relationship. That's my dude. Man,
he's alreadier dude. Yeah, absolutely so if he is.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
The guy, you don't have to work on the relationship.
You guys are cool, not at all. That's awesome.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Like that's and and that's the kind of guys that
they bring into Like they don't want to bring in
guys that are our standoffish or like that don't talk
to the teammates or that that don't really jel like
he immediately jailed as soon as he got in, and
it was it was pretty.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Cool when when you see, you know, guys like you
Saquon Derrick Henry having these monster years.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Yeah. People keep saying like, well, the Chiefs could just
game plan against Saquon.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Can you really game plan to stop a guy at
that level? Like, I mean, have the other teams tried this?
I think everything, I think everything probably tried it.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
It's it's really hard, man, because the thing that's hard
about it is you got a quarterback that can run,
and he's taking the defender away from the play so
that the blocks happen a lot more cleaner and you
can see a lot more a lot more holes in
the defense when when that happens, and then you have
too like some of the best receivers in the NFL
on the outside, and you have a tight end that's
(11:52):
one of the best tight ends, so you have so
many threats around you. That helps him out a lot.
But yeah, you can't really, you can't really game plan
against it. All you can do is try hard to
stop it. But any one of those runs that he
has can break for for a long one.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I gotta ask Jon Robinson hanging with Cavine on wretch.
Ye all right, regular dude like Coveno and myself, regular
rich I was. I always love to put myself in
the scenario of an athlete.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
You're way bigger, stronger. Yeah, yeah, you know, you got
age on me and everything.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Could a regular guy ten carries in the NFL, with
a good line gain one yard?
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Would he get copied? Yeah you think so? Wowa, Yes,
absolutely five yards?
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Now five yards because you've seen those like what's the
hardest thing to gain yard?
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Hit a three pointer in the NBA, Like hit a
baseball if appropriate? What you said, with the good old line,
with the good old you can gain one yard. Leave
it at that.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Yeah, I'm happy five yards is hard because he has
to he has to try to outrun a linebacker coming
at him and that kid.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
But one yard you can literally get the ball and dive.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Is there nothing more for a trading? And this happens
to every elite running back, Like you you got that
scene the breakaway and a guy just gets your.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Running pop up and slam down.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
That the worst, that's the worst one ever. Like, and
then it's you did you didn't just get caught. But
then your whole team's gonna start like, oh, you got caught.
You can't you can't outrun the player, like they're gonna
start making funn of you, like, and then I could
just be like, damn bro, Like you can't say nothing
to it, because that's what happens. You know.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
We've been talking about a lot this week is how
defenders now are just punching at the ball. They're just
throwing left hooks, right hooks, And I love it. It's
they're on target all the time. Are you feeling that
when you're covering the ball. I mean, because you're really
just getting punched.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
The fumbles are down this year, so you're like your
project fumble, Yeah, this year, like the only one was
when the ball went any.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Fumble, but you caught a few right hooks to the ribs. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
But but the cool thing is like now that guys
are starting to like try to punch out the ball,
they're not tackling.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
So so you like that better?
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Oh absolutely, because then you're not tackling in and then
you're breaking tackles in. I mean obviously we're taught to like,
you know, high into like squeeze the ball and everything
like that.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
So man, it's it's cool for me.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Hey, as a superstar in your position, you're a young guy,
you're in the NFL, you're making big money, you're scoring touchdowns.
As a player, you got to keep yourself hyped up
all the time, right.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
You got to be that guy. So you got to
get in your own head like I'm the man. I
gotta be the man. So when you're doing all that
and you're living this cool lifestyle, how do you stay grounded? Man?
In my faith? My face, that's the one.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Like, you know, I'm always I'm always in my devotionals,
I'm always you know, in the Bible, I'm always just
you know, reading Bible studies, like because I feel like
that's what's taking me to the new heights in my life,
into two other levels in my life because I know
that I can rely on what God has for me,
and you know, it always keeps me humble.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
You know, I'm never never cocky, like I'm never that
guy that's so great.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
But sometimes you have on the field you have to
be yeah, you ye beast on the field and spiritual
and it brings you right back, it does. That's so
cool man, that that's what That's what helps me out
a lot.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
And you're doing a lot of great work. I see,
big brothers, big sisters tell us about it.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
So with this with this campaign, it's the Big Draft campaign.
And you know, we want ten thousand mentors for thirty
thirty thousand kids who want to draft two thousand mentors,
which is really cool and I think it's just cool
to have those kind of mentors. Like for me, obviously,
you guys have mentors, and you know I've always had
mind throughout my life and my coaches and my dad,
everybody man like my mom. So I mean, for these
(15:26):
kids that don't have one, you know, we need to
start now to help these kids out because it's only
going to help us in the world and help us
grow as people. But I mean, it's it's definitely been
a great opportunity to be with them and to represent them,
you know throughout my time my journey here b.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
John Robinson, big brothers and big sisters. You know, so
many people in your business. I see this because you
seem like such a cool dude. So many people in
your business retire so early. So you know they're older
guys on the field, but young men in life. What
do you think about after football?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Yeah, so I see you. I could see you doing this.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
I do a lot of I do a lot of
different things, like I DJ. I've been doing the DJ
this DJ series with the NFL, so that's been pretty cool.
And then acting has been a thing that I've been
you know, dibbling in, like you know, trying to get
on these shows and have fun doing it, like little
cameos here and there.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
So I mean, and then I have like this Jon
Musters end business.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
That's you know that I that I have so like
just three different things that I want to continue to
grow and elevate. So because I always know it's important
to have all this stuff after football and to do
I mean, what you guys are doing is what I
want to do as well. So like it's been pretty cool,
manol I love it.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Man.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
I got to ask you, so Sunday, Big game, everyone's watching.
We've talked about yappy people at the Super Bowl party.
Do you want everyone to shut the heck up? Or
do you Are you okay with everyone yap yap, yapp?
And during the game commercials halftime, do you have the
mindset of, like, listen if you're coming to my house,
pay attention?
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yeah, no, pay attention. Like obviously you can.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
You can cheer when when when the time is needed,
but you know, when when there's like a first and
you know, fifteen, like and they get two yards, I
don't need y'all like you know.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Talking exactly focused?
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Ye, yeah, like, but I mean obviously like you have
a lot of that, but you know, I'm not I'm
not like a yell I'm gonna yell at you because
of it, but just you know, just kind of lock in,
you know.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Lock it by a pleasure, Yeah, continued success. Yeah, no,
thank you. Man.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
You know that it's gonna be terribly hard not to
root for exactly even if he plays your team. Oh yeah, yes, sir,
If you play. When you play at forty nine ers,
you go for one fifty. But I still got root
for the night. It's all good, God, It's all good.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
And rich.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (17:50):
I know, like the flashy deal for the trade deadline
because he's a notable guy.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Oh, Jimmy Butler's now you know with yes.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
The steph out in the Golden State. It is that
an impact? Is that a big impact trade?
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Though?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
I feel like the Lakers trying to get a big
man and giving up on like Connect's gun though if
you guys, yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
You should brought up old stuff. I love the fact
that they found their big and he's young. He's twenty
three in Williams. But Connect was a fan favorite, the
most talented young player that the Lakers had.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah, and he found out last night all of a sudden,
he's looking at his phone. We're there, like hanging out
after after hours. Where was this at the bar in
the bedroom after hours? So we're at the bar and
rolled over me and he's like, oh, he's like, oh,
and by the way, he was he was already upset
(18:41):
because IRV Gotti passed away hip hop legend from murdering
old friend of the years old, so he already got
that bad news that the hip hop IRV Gotti passed away, right.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
And he's like, oh, Mary, but what happened now? He's like,
we lost Connect?
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Yeah, because Connect, it's kind of like, how was your guy?
You don't know how brock Bowers fell to the Raiders
in the NFL Draft.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I knew he'd get the Raiders in on this well.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
No, but it felt like best player available and he
kind of fell in their lap.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah, the NBA Draft, that's what it felt like. When
the Lakers got Connect. A lot of people did think
he was a steal except Lebron, who I saw this
kid play forever. He always knew.
Speaker 7 (19:20):
Of course, yes, Lebron knew, of course, No, you're right
there is. It was too bad, but you need you
need somebody to play defense on that team. Yeah, and
at least Williams will give you a spot in the
Wigands post. It's not lipstick on a pig, because the
Warriors aren't a pig. But to me, it's I just
don't I don't see that move. I don't think there
were any moves they could make. So maybe they're just like, well,
(19:43):
we got to do something, let's try it, and who knows.
But I just don't think it knocks off Oklahoma City
or anybody else. They're just fighting to get into the
top ten right now, let alone the top six.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Danny, we were saying yesterday how the West is stacked
and the East is meager, like Bob Seger. You know,
if right now, if the eleven seed Golden State Warriors,
who are twenty five and twenty five were in the East,
they would be the sixth seed essentially. So it's like
you're talking about the East being you know, very few
(20:15):
quality teams. There's gonna be West teams that are over
five hundred that don't even make the playing yet.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
Sure, but it's I mean, it'll be interesting to see
how the matchups break down on the brackets, especially if
you get these younger teams against some of these old heads,
if you will, with the Suns Lakers and everyone just.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Wants Lakers MAVs now, yeah, well thanks gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
I's gotta happen, Thank you, Dan Meyer, and speaking of
the NBA, Rich pat Riley, I don't know if you
saw this made a deal with the NFL allowing them
to use his phrase. Well it's not his phrase, but
he patented three peat, so they're gonna be using three
p on the merchandise if it happens with the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Does he got like a dollar for each shirt or something? Oh, well,
he made a deal.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I don't know what the numbers are, but it did
get us thinking of other coin phrases and other you know,
trademarks that we've seen throughout the years.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Do you remember Lebron tried to take taco to his dad?
Of course I do.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Yeah, like he invented it, but again it wasn't pat
Rally that invented it, but he trademarked it. So he
was smart enough to think about it. And God did speculate, right,
we did, and people will said, hey, no, Lebron, you
can't do that. But pat Riley did trademark it, and
now he's getting paid. We wondered how that was gonna work. Yeah,
(21:28):
and by the way, we were saying, it.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Would be cheaper, cheaper if they just went with like
Chief Pete or something like that. Iowa. Sam texted io was.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Sam texted me over the weekend because I was talking
about Michael Buffer's catch phrase.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
I'm like, should I say it?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
And I was joking because we met Buffer and He's like,
I'll give you permission, and I was Saym's like, still
don't do it. Sam, you sent me a link over
the weekend saying that it is very true that you
cannot say the Buffer catchphrase.
Speaker 8 (21:54):
Yeah, yes, please. That was a verbal agreement that he
gave to you and that you guys made you do not. Yeah,
we got that email from you know. That was that
was actually that was yes, that is a rule on
the forbidden words.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Sam.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
At one of my past radio stations, my morning show,
we got a cease and desist letter delivered to the
station and it was because we were using that phrase
in one of our games.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
It was a little recording of him, Yeah that one.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah, dump you if you do it, can't don't do it,
don't do it. It makes me think of some other ones.
I really feel like Bart Scott should have can't wait.
I think he should have a trademark if he has.
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Are those words like sort of like we was change
the words to like Mets get ready to fumble or
something like that.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
Oh yeah, that's a good one, Jets get ready to fumble.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
But didn't you know Smith remember when like they were
quick to write you off and he was like, what
did he say?
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I didn't Well that's why I didn't write back yet,
or I didn't write back this.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah, he trademarked that. Kirk Cousins, who's in the right now.
You like that, you know, you like that coin phrases that.
I don't know if they're all trademarked or not, but
they're all catchphrases.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
That's a good one. That's a good one, you know.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
So there's so many catch phrases and catch sayings and
sports that go along with the whole pat Riley three
peat because guess what he's getting paid. Any other others
come to thinking of what you said? Always bring up
the minute ball and the tumbo and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Yeah, I mean there's about can't wait, did you put
that on a T shirt? And I'm saying, yeah, that's
that's you gotta put that on something. But I now,
you gotta go through the process.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
If it seems like an obvious thing, you can't you
can't put a trademark on Like that's why Lebron couldn't
do Taco Tuesday because like, yeah, dude, it's Tacos, it's Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
You can't.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
You can't just pull anything like that. But well, pat
Riley had three peat, you had it, and that's the
that's the update. They're just throwing that out there, all.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Right, Hey, Cavino and Rich, uh before we get out

Yes not the super Bowl prop Give me your instinct
without thinking about it. Patrick Mahomes passing yards two hundred
and fifty and a half. Don't think about it, Just
give me your instinct under under Danny fifteen and a
half over.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Oh really, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
I tell you you know, a lot of this game
lut or not I think has to do with does
Kelsey play like Kelsey should?
Speaker 5 (26:19):
You know?
Speaker 1 (26:20):
He has to be that guy again. He has to
step up and just sort of take over and be
the man. I think that's really what it comes down to.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Do you know why I picked the under on the
saquon one ten and a half. Why because Danny saw
Chris Jones at CBS.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Oh yeah, I know. I think Danny motivated him. I heard.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
I heard Danny give him a pep talk. Yeah, you're
gonna everywhere Saquan is you are right, Chris? And he's like, yeah,
let me get my toothpaste. And Danny, you know that
was I told him.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
I say, you know, you represent the AFC West and
I showed him my Raider tattoo and then and then
he socked me.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
So let me ask you this before we get into
I know you had a thought about Kirk Cousins As
we get closer to Super Bowl fifty nine, you know,
people hyped up about Kendrick Lamar.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
They not like us.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
The most decorated song in Grammy history. Every award possibly
could win it one in the rap category. In the
main categories, Drake loves that. Drake is crying.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
You know what It's like?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
I said to you, remember the movie is it euro Trip? Yeah,
Scotty doesn't know. Remember the fake rock song.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
At the beginning? Yeah, and Matt Damon Scotty doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
That would be like if that song one rock song
of the year and Scotty is Drake the biggest dish
track of all time?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
And the question though now wins awards?
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Will the NFL allowed the line about pedophile to stick
because they're saying, will Kendrick change it?
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Will they beep it? Will they let it fly? Could
lawsuits happen? Like?
Speaker 2 (27:49):
That's since it's a dish track, you know, not all
the lyrics are kind. So do you think they'll let
that fly? If you're the NFL, do you say, hey, dude,
if you don't change, you've gotta beep it.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
NFL is known for playing it safe, So I think
the NFL and you know millions of families watching will
play it safe in this case.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
If they have to be bit, they'll be on stand
by to be bit. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
And also remember rap artists do a lot of shows
where they have to do their radio versions of the song.
So he's he's well versed at being careful with his lyrics.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
No doubt.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Now, could you know a lot of NBA trades. But
there's a guy that's probably done in Atlanta and it's
not be John Robinson.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
We just saw him. He's got a bright future. Kirk Cousins. Yeah,
we talked to Bijon Robinson about it.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
He's just waiting on his group chat to see what happens,
and you know, he finds out when we find out
on social media. But it looks like they're cutting ties
with Cousins and investing in Pennix Junior moving forward.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
You know what you remind you of that the NFL draft,
when the sentiment was like, why on earth would they
take Pennix Junior when they just gave Kirk Cousins all
that money, and a lot of people are like, you
know why.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Because it's the NFL. You never know.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Oh, Cousins was coming back from injury he's getting older.
And you know, the sentiment was, well, even if Cousin
plays a couple of years, you'll have Pennix Junior there,
talk about grand opening, grand closing, like that didn't even
last more than a season. And now we're looking at all,
right in year two, here's the keys to the car,
Michael Penick Junior. And if Cousins is released, I don't
(29:22):
think he likes that. How much money will Kirk Cousins
have made in that contract? That contract was for how long?
That was a big ass contract. So Danny G did
the math. While you look that up, Danny G, I'll
read the statue you put up before. In his thirteen
year career with NFL contracts alone, yeah, Kirk Cousins has
(29:43):
made two hundred and ninety four million dollars.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
That's just on NFL contract. That's like power balls.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Yeah, that's insane in the lottery. It's like he like
he won the power ball. That's the sixth highest though
in active players. So that's no chump change man. That's
a lot of flow. And and by the way, let's
remember where his career started, where he couldn't even really
find a place.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
You know, it was like.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
Washington, then Minnesota, then you know he's bounced around. Yeah,
people thought he was just like a really really good
backup and take a look down, dude.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Four years one point eighty including fifty million dollars as
a signing bonus and one hundred million of that guaranteed.
So for a guy that played most of the year
but way underperformed, is that the easiest money you think
a pro athlete has ever made?
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Is there someone else that comes to mind? Like they
sounded the big deal and they were hurt like so far.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
I mean, I know it's an injury, but Brandon ayuxiund
that big deal with the Niners got hurt like a
game into it.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
There's a lot of examples like that of like Jacoby
Yilsbury that's signed with the Yankees, never played ever.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
But dude, tease me now about JaMarcus Russell. Yeah, that
was before that was before the low the lower rookie salaries.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
So we like to chop it.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Up here live from Radio Row, New Orleans, but we're
really just trying to get you to think of those
rare moments where, look, work stinks most of the time,
but there's every once in a while where the gods
smile on you and you get paid to do basically
nothing right.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Everyone has to have one little moment in.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Their life where they're like, that was the easiest money
I ever made, Rodney Dangerfield style some easy money and rich.
I know you have a story too that comes to
mind of like, Yo, that was the easiest payday I
ever had.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Can I tell you that, I think I have the answer.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
It's not the biggest money deal, but can you think
of a guy and you're always gonna come up with
guys on your team, so part of me that it's
a met But can you think of a guy that
signs a deal and like almost didn't play, yet your
team still wasted payroll and salary.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
On this guy.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
You're ember former Oakland A. He was around the league
a little bit. Jed Lowry, I remember the name. Remember
the name Jed Lowry. The Mets signed him in the
late twenty teens, from what I understand as I'm reading
his stats. On January tenth, twenty nineteen, Lowry signed a
two year deal with the Mets. He was placed on
the disabled list of il with a spring k the Ultimately,
(32:09):
in two years as a Met, he.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Had seven at bats.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Oh yeah, he saw no field time, seven pinch hits,
no hits, no hits, oh for six or a walk
in seven at bats.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
And he signed the big two year deal Enigma, which
you turned me on too, was it Netflix?
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Yeah? The Aaron Rodgers series.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Yeah, remember Matt Flynn kept talking throughout the docu series.
He made more than nineteen million dollars during his NFL career.
See that's and he only had seven starts. And you
know it was based on that one game, one good game.
He played the Packers as a backup and lit it up.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
And then the Seahawks signed him and if you remember
how that story went, then they drafted Russell Wilson.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Russ beat him outain camp and never yet then he
got Then he goes to the Raiders and Derek Carr
beat him out.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
In pre so yeah that I still got nineteen million dollars.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
I mean there have been times where Cavino and I
have worked really hard and haven't really got paid for
something we did, hosted an event, you know, did something
for a client. And then there's those few times that
in everyone's career, and I'm sure everyone feels the same way.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
You can't believe you got paid, like like there was
a there was a time.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Where I've hosted events where I've done such minimal work,
like I just played music and made like one announcement.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
It was a pretty nice pay day, and I remember
being like, why would they pay me this? You feel
like you're robbing you know what? That's the first thing.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
A lot of times, as radio hosts will host a
sales event and they want you to come by, and
you think that you're gonna have to speak at this event,
and sometimes they don't want you to. He like, really,
so why am I here? So you just want me
to like walk around like you're like a male model.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Yeah, what am I here to do?
Speaker 1 (33:55):
You don't want me on the mic to like at
least make an announcement, say hello to clients, And it's
like you're basically paying us to do nothing. That Again,
there's a lot of times we don't get paid anything
at all, but in those moments, it's like it evens
out because they, Wow, they paid.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Us for that.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
So whatever your line of work is, I'm sure there's
an example of this. Because I'll give you one more.
During COVID, my wife and I we bought our house
in Los Angeles. But in order to buy that house,
we had we had a property in Texas that we sold.
That was when people were looking for houses. Inventory was low,
you know, prices were going through the roof. Our real
(34:31):
estate agent was seendening us like fruit baskets and prizes
and wine and everything. Because they put the house on
the market. It's sold in a day because that was
when the market And he's like, listen, I've never sold
the house. I'm taking a commission for He felt guilty
in the real estate guy.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
He's like, oh, but he took it. Oh, he took it,
but he was He sent my wife.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
And I like some prizes essentially because he's like, he
didn't do anything. I did nothing, sold itself. And that's
the Kirk Cousins story. Everyone did nothing.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Yeah, he did nothing for that team, but he seems like,
you're good, dude. Two hundred and ninety four million dollars
in his football career.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
So that's a lot. That's a lot of button down
trips and calls that is. So what's that story for you?
You could share at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
And remember we're joined by Gary Vee on over Promised
Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Next, that's our bonus pot.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Go there now until that, until tomorrow, aree me there
at you baby, see you in the over Promised Land.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Let's go.
