and Rich and yesterday I know if you missed it,

(01:35):
but on our show we had Page Sporadics stop by
pro golfer turned influencer.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Oh yeah, and I think Rich said so hot you
want too touchdown? Heiny, I think you said you said that.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
No, oh no, you said that about Kurt Shilling. That's right,
that's f because Kurt Shilling was also on the show.
And if you missed it, catch it on the pod.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
By the way, Spot, I'll give him props our video guys.
Spot posted a picture of me yesterday. Yeah, I'm looking
at page sporadic. Yeah, sure you were, and he labeled
it a test and eye control because I was so
just looking at her eyes. I was looking but not easy,
not easy, and not the best picture of you yesterday.

(02:19):
The best photo of you yesterday just got posted to Twitter.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Yeah, our boss approved this because I didn't want to
embarrass anybody. But Scott, our boss is a great sport
about it. He's the best.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
And I'm not kissing ass, but that rich and our
boss sharing food yesterday, and we were trying to figure
out is that lame or awesome? Because you get a
little bit of everything. But then you caused this whole
scene where everybody's looking at you, like, are these guys
sharing plates?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
What's going on? I think it's a legit move.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I think yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Before we get back into the John Madden thought boom,
I would love the feedback. Can you split a meal
with a friend? And the answer is yes, I guess
all right. So John Madden nineteen sixty nine takes over
the Oakland Raiders changes the culture, You said, Joe Tory,

(03:10):
New York Yankees.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Oh, because it's a legitimate answer, for sure. And I'm
just getting it out of the way, getting the ball rolling.
I'm not like you stealing everybody's answer. I'm just giving
you mine. It immediately comes to mind. I got one.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I mean there's more recent ones, but if you're gonna
use your team, I'll use mine.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
When Bill Walsh took over the Niners, you don't have
to do that.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
When Bill Walsh took over the forty nine ers, West
Coast Offense changed the culture, took the forty nine ers
to new heights.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
There's guys that do this in every sport, you know.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I'd like to say that the Miami Heat thanks to
pat Riley's leadership and then Eric Spolstra, that team, you know,
the spulture came up the ranks there and under the
tutelage of pat Riley. Yeah, what was his story? He
would like pull video, right, wasn't he like the video guy?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah, he was one of the video directors.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
But that's an insane story.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
But you know what, when you realize how pat Riley
came up the ranks, you know, started from the bottom.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Now he's ears, he's living the life of Riley now, so.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
I think pat Riley Spolster, that's a culture shifter. And
in the NFL, Danny, you better crush your fingers because
I think.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Pete Carroll is a culture shifter.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Can Pete Carroll do what years ago John Gruden did?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Ye?

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Because remember the Raiders were struggling big time. I was
a season ticket holder at the time, and they were
going through coaches likeway Covino goes through Chony's and you
back enough for Vegas and then New Orleans.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah exactly, And.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I had to sit there and watch really bad teams.
Suddenly Gruden comes in, they signed rich Gannon. The two
of them together turned the whole thing around and go
to a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
No doubt.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Hey, your feedback, your phone calls eight seven, seven, nine
to nine on Fox. And before we go to the phones,
any others that you want to throw out there? You
want to steal some answers, steal some answers. I mean,
this is see, this is an obvious one. I don't
want to I don't want to give you the old
open court layup fronk sport football. How about the easy
touchdown Harbbaugh the Chargers. The Chargers have like no identity,

(05:10):
and just by putting Jim Harbaugh at the helm made
the playoffs. Yeah, they didn't win in the playoffs. You know,
Herbert had one of his worst games ever. But just
the simple like oh wow, like people look at them different.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Now you can say that.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
I think that's a great example, but there's always that
oh wait, I think that might be happening, Like I
thought that was happening with Antonio Pierce for a second
with Danny G's team, and then reality kicks in and
you're like, yeah, no, I was a bit of a
shakeup but didn't turn out. You know, Dan Campbell might
be that guy because I thought he was like one
of those guys that brought his raw, raw, tough guy

(05:45):
attitude and changed the culture for the Detroit Lions. But
you know, it's not necessarily it's not failing, but it's
not panning out either the way they wanted to do.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
They were fifteen to two short of a super Bowl, yes,
but a team that had no playoff history.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
But I think he gave them that that identity and
it's it's working. It's just not all the way there yet.
So you know, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. What
comes to mind for you guys again, the anniversary this
week of John Madden with the Raiders coaching day coaching
gig yep.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
And by the way, really quick, I should add I
realized Gannon and Crwden didn't get to go to the
Super Bowl together. Thanks Al Davis for that one. All right,
so let's go to the studio lines Kenneth in Miami.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
You know? What's up? Man?

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Real quick?

Speaker 7 (06:28):
At my point is with the Madden But I just
wanted to say, what about the New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 8 (06:33):
They stunk for so long and then they traded for
Drew Brees and Sean Payton.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
That was a culture changer, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
You know, we're down here in New Orleans and you know,
you walk down the block and you're still seeing Drew
Brees Jerseys.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Does that guy steven A? What's up?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Man?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Hey, steven A our next president?

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Buddy?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
There he is. I got him to laugh too. That's funny. Lash.
What was your other one?

Speaker 8 (06:56):
Bro?

Speaker 6 (07:00):
No?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Well, I think that was a good one because a
lot of times with New it doesn't even have to
be coaching but management. You see, they bring their own
guys in and that's a total culture shift. Culture shock, right,
They bring their own guys and a lot of times
it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Doesn't always work.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
All right, let's go to Josh in Ohio.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Hey, Josh, could you don't rich live in New Orleans?
What's up, buddy?

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (07:21):
What's up? Guys? Hope you're having some say fun in Vegas.
Don't let Vegas chew you up.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Okay, they left Vegas. We're at New Orleans. Yas already
showed me up.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Get it.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Letting you cheer me up?

Speaker 7 (07:33):
Before I give you my coach. I just want to
say the three main league Baseball, Basketball, Football, two of
them have silhouettes as a logo. Can we give John
Madden his flowers and make the sill what it has
had the NFL logo? Please, can you guys fuck to
somebody out there?

Speaker 4 (07:48):
That would be awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Trurely, the NHL and the NFL have like a shield,
you know, I agree? What the Madden being carried off
the field. That's a silhouette you could see.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Yeah, you know we.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Talked about that, over promised.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
That's our bonus pod if you check it on Fox
Sports Radios YouTube page. Over promised, Like, does it need
a revamp? That's actually a great idea. What's your what's
your example buddy, so my coach.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
I didn't get to see man coach, but I grew
up watching this man. He changed the league with the
trying offense. What about Phil Jackson.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
No doubt, no diggity, no, that's that's a great one
for sure.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Phil Jackson and everywhere he went just was a winner,
you could say, like the luckiest guy, but also a
talented guy.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
There's that famous John Madden silhouette, by the way, I
called it up on my phone.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, not even the one of him
getting carried up. This did the profile of him with
the headset on.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
It's like his Alfred Hitchcock profile or you know. And
and by the way, these.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Culture changers, these culture shifts, they happen on every level.
Like my daughter's high school team, right, they're known to
stink and they're I think they're terrible. I went to
a game of zero zero, I told you, and they
ended the game. I was like, the worst that's that
story can't be.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
That story can't be worse cause, you know, goes to
support his daughter because she's a cheerleader, so you're you're
already going there to be like, oh honey, I'll support you. Hopefully,
I at least get to watch a good You want
to have some little, some raw talent out there, right,
you said zero zero went to overtime, no one scored,
no score, zero final score. And I can't believe that
was the worst. I told my she didn't cheer hard enough,

(09:22):
Like it's your fault. You A cheerharder would have been
a better game.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
But you said anyway, you know, so they got a
new coach and everything, and you see, like you see
the attempt while it's happening, like you know, this guy's
real adamant about changing the culture here. It's just sometimes
it doesn't always translate based on the team and based
on the type of kids, Like you need that right
leader to really work. And now I'm seeing this real raw, raw,

(09:47):
tough guy type of guy trying to rob these kids,
and I'm wondering, is that what these kids need.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
I think it is.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
But you're different with different teams, different locker rooms, different mindsets,
different generations of people.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
That's why it could be a good leader.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Like we always used the Tony LaRussa example, but he
was an old guy talking to young people that didn't
work with.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
The White Sox.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
I have a modern a new example, just turned their
season around and it started from the top down, new ownership,
new leadership, Magic Johnson in there about dan Quinn and
what he did with the Commanders.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
What great. That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, yeah that that That team had it like a
ten game differential from the previous season, just based on
you know, drafting correctly, getting getting a motivational coach in there.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
So please please Pete Carroll do that for the Raiders. Please,
Pete Carroll, Hey.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Richard, you need to bring Are you going to bring
this dan Quinn sort of mentality to your little league
team or what?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Listen, man, as you know, I'm Rich's coaching two teams.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
I heard he's the number one coach on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I mean I've heard he says it like off the
air all the time. Listen. I told Doug, I'm sorry, hey,
got leave, I'm the number one coach.

Speaker 6 (10:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
But you know, interestingly enough, I was talking to Doug
about but his experience in Green Bay and he said, listen,
we may be losing now, but he's like, I got
good kids that want to win, and we're just creating
a culture. And sometimes it takes a minute to get
the town, especially in college.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
When you got you got a recruit go.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
It starts with the Court said, some of his best
players are hurt, and but the kids aren't like when
they're losing. They're losing with effort and heart. They're not
like they han't you know, checked out.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I thought of one. You guys haven't even thought of you.
Guy should be ashamed. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox,
the anniversary this week of John Madden changing the culture
of not Only.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
And Rich got on the full time lineup on Fox.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
We changed the culture.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
You know what, I don't disagree with that. Yeah, that's
rich Man, It's all rich.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
I give Rich all the credit thankscause he's VIP at
the culture Club.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
He's a big boy George fan.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
That's why.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's why different come in.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Coach Coach Lou Brown. Dude, I know it's fictional, but
not sentire world. Give him the heater coach. You're you're
bringing up coach Lou Brown. Coach Brown, they were the
weakest franchise. Well, if you're gonna go over to Brown,
go over fictional coach. It's the whole point. Though he
changed the culture, He made them believe in themselves. They

(12:06):
won if you're gonna go over fake ass answers, which
are fun?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
How do you not bring up coach Gordon Bombay Mighty does?
I never watched that corny movie, so I brought up
Major Law. Yeah, I never saw it. I need Fox
Sports Radio Nation too.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I mean, Major League is cooler than the Mighty way
to hit up Cavino at Cavino and let him know
that it's an embarrassment, and not only that you have
a daughter she would love it to but you made
it out like was the better answer over coach Lou Brown.
I think it is all right. Well, I wasn't trying
to debate it. I'm just saying I never saw it.
I know the premise of the movie. I know I'm

(12:42):
a big Amelia west of guy.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I like him. Yes, I'm a club. I was like Emilio, I.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Do this with my wife when my wife doesn't know
eighty show that we watched, Like, I'm like, babe, what
do you think the premise of I don't know, though
Family Ties was and hearing her like, pretend to guess,
so you tell me what is the plot line of
Buddy Ducks.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
It was just from my understanding, I got a bunch
of misfit kids that he was coaching.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
What do he coach him?

Speaker 6 (13:04):
Though?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
I don't remember that, but I get sure you have it.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
A guess, but guess on Emilio Westevez was like doing
like community service.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah, so he was a former like star hockey player. Okay,
got pulled over drinking and driving and part of not
going to jail was used.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
To play hockey.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
You're a big shot coach these misfit kids, and he
reluctantly and then falls them over with the kids and
they go from misfits, like I don't know, winning like
the world championship of a year. That's the part that's
hard to imagine, but nonetheless a great movie.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
But again, it happens on the lowest and smallest of levels.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
It happens at your office, at your warehouse, wherever you're working,
some guys, some new guys in charge. He might bring
his own people in there, but he's responsible for shifting
the culture.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
And we're basically focusing on the positive here.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
A lot of people do that for the negative, for
the positive here, and John Madden was that guy.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
How about a coach who his slick tear is almost
as nice as Covinos, Sean mcvagh, Oh, the Rams had
the Jeff Fisher experience.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
We are not flipping going seven and nine again? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
No, you know what. I like that answer? Yeah, he's cool.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
You ever seen that awkward Jeff Fisher clip where he
calls a meeting with his coaches and he's like, I've
been fired.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
You never seen I'm not sure I've seen it.

Speaker 6 (14:19):
Man.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
Honestly, if you're bored, look it up. It's like, I
guess there were filmings, some NFL films stuff. It's it's
video from the conference room, and everyone's like sort of like, oh,
you guys are all safe.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
But I've been looking.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
I'll say I'll throw some other ones out there. Reluctantly.
I say Terry Francona of the Red Sox, you know
when he was with the Red Sox. Joe Madden was
another guy that changed the culture in baseball. You know
these guys that turned losing franchise into winning franchises.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Back to the phones at eighty seven seven ninety nine
on Fox.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Let's say what's up to Cliff in Kentucky?

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Hey, Cliff, what's up? Bud?

Speaker 6 (14:52):
Hey? I got the two names ones in baseball Tony LaRussa.
If you take a look at where he where he's
then they go from mediocre if not losing, to world championships.
And then an obvious one that it'd be uh.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Andy Reid, Andy Reid winning his coach, you know, both
teams that are playing Sunday, the winningest coach in both
of those franchises history. And by the way that the
Tony Lewis one thing is interesting because early on, yes,
and then much like everything sadly in life, there's an expiration.
And I think Tony Lewis when he found his way

(15:30):
to the White Sox, then there came a point where
he didn't.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Speak their language. Yeah, it has to be the right
mix of leader and players. It just has to be.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
And I mentioned Joe Madden of the Cubs rich you know,
and how he changed around. You could even say it
wasn't Francona, wasn't Joe madd You say it was Steo
Epstein that really shifted the culture there as a young GM.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Theo Epstein is a GM. When you have the he's
just the G when you have the Huevos, you figure
out when you have the Huevos, like you saw in
the Comeback documentary about the Red Sox. People forget no
Ma was the face of that team, and he had
the like I said, the Huevos enough to be like, yeah,
I know, like most kids have his jersey, but uh yeah,
we're gonna trade him.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Man, I just feel like we need more clubhouse guys,
We need a different culture.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
That's exactly what happened with Luca, and we've talked about
that because the thinking there was, if we're really gonna
shift the culture, it starts with No More. Even though
he's a great player, need him out. And that's the
same thinking with Luca. Yeah he's a great player, but
if we're gonna shift the culture here and change things around,
he's got to go, well, hey, we got to focus

(16:35):
on defense.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
We're doing it live radio Row New Orleans, Cavino and
Rich Now again all week.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
We'll try to have, as Dan Meyer would say, you
cut the head of the snake. Yeah, you gotta cut
the head of the snake.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
It's it's just a lot of fun. We're looking around.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
You see a lot of a lot of Hall of famers,
a lot of current players. So we'll try to get
you as much as much fun with these celebrities and
athletes as possible throughout the week and coming up, we

and it's like the kids.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
Say, that's summit.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
We definitely mad.

Speaker 8 (17:45):
You see in our score Midweek Major.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
About to give this body a full eight minutes here.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
You're lying, You're lying.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
When you hear the horns, you know you have made
it to the middle of the week all right before
we hand so to the number one and only host
of this segment, I'm gonna flip this casino chip that
your friend Page left behind yesterday.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
All right, Coveno heads her tail.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Oh you mean the way the one she slipped into
my back pocket? Yeah, that one, let's see it. Yeah,
I called tails tales in all and.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
It is tales.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Yeah, it means Covino's gonna get the first take. And now,
ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides Judy Bloom
from Scotch Plains New Jersey, Spotty boy.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Y Bos Spotty from Nolan's, who went first? Who's going first?

Speaker 4 (18:36):
I'm going first?

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Covino, Spotty Poe Boy. How is your sandwich?

Speaker 9 (18:39):
By the way, it was meaty? Well, you know what
wasn't what I expected, but it was also meeting anyway.
I guess we'll start with the biggest thing of the week,
the biggest sports story of the week, and that is
the Super Bowl. Of course, Mahomes and Kelsey been fielding
questions all week long, so aside from the tailor slip questions,
they were asked about the attendance of our President Trump

(19:01):
and they're thrilled at the opportunity. Mahome said, it's always
cool to be able to play in front of a
sitting president, someone that is at the top of our country.
Also added it was cool to hear that the president
was a fan of the Mahomes and the chiefs Kelsey commented, saying,
it's a great honor no matter who the president is.
I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life
and having the president there, you know, it's the best
country in the world, so it would be pretty cool.

(19:22):
I'm sure fans will be kind of divvying the minutes
between who showing President Trump and Taylor swipt on TV,
so that'll be fun.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Midweek or major. This is major.

Speaker 10 (19:29):
Yeah, always cool to perform in front of a sitting president.
Hopefully stands up and cheers for me when we win. Yeah,
but very excited that Trump's going to be there because
my wife's a big fan, and.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
That's really it.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
I think it's cool because he's the president, right, so
I think it's awesome that he's going to be there.
Regardless of your political beliefs anything Trump related.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Major, He's at the game, and I think it is
sort of proof that.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Patrick sways with his wife in her political beliefs.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
I just think I think it's major because it's just
the right answer. There's a right answer here, and it's
no matter who the president is.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Everybody feels that way. I think it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
You're citizen of the United States, the president's there, It's
an honor, even if you don't like the guy China.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I mean, you're playing in the super Bowl. I think
it's an honor.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
And I think my big takeaway doesn't have to do
in President Trump. What Kelsey also said, there goes against everything.
This knucklehead next to me Camino thinks. Travis Kelsey said,
this is the biggest game of his life. And you're
talking about oh Jalen hurts and revenge and nickery.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
No, no, no, I never downplayed the fact that the
Chiefs care you underplay.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Never makes are also playing for something. So there you
go twisting things around. They could see.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
No, I don't have any stories about he makes it
seem like one story.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
It makes it seem like the.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Chiefs are Rocky and Rocky three where he's punching those
hey hey bubbles.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Don't believe me, believe with two time Super Bowl champion
Vince Wilfork to today, Yeah, Vince.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Will Fork, believe him, Believe him.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
And if you didn't hear it, catch it on the
podcast over to the halftime show.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
Kendrick Lamar is said to take the stage of this
week's weeknd T Have Time show, but the song that
thrust him into popularity this year might have slightly different
lyrics or might not be there at all, so that
Drake distract Not Like Us is currently part of a
defamation lawsuit by Drake against Kendrick Lamar for some accusations
he makes in the song, specifically calling him a pedophilegist
to be newsworthy here, So today's day, the setlist was

(21:39):
submitted and now lawyers are going back and forth as
to whether or not the censors will have a field
day with the song, whether or not he's going to
change the song, whether or not the song will be included.
But he just won four Grammys for the song, so
hopefully it makes it in. And if he does push
it through without the approval, there's two sensors in place,
plus plus a five second delay, so I'm sure they'll
have their back.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
It's midweek or major m.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I guess it's kind of major because now we're all
going to see how this plays out, all right, And
what's Drake's take on this?

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Obviously he doesn't like it, but he's involved.

Speaker 9 (22:11):
Well there's a defamation lawsuit because yeah, that's part of
the distrack.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
So weak, he went, we.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Know that the it's a major story because it's Super Bowl,
but it's super weak because that's like Devin Haney getting
knocked out and trying to sue Ryan Garcia. Yo, you've
lost the rat battle.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
You deal with it.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Calling someone the pedophile is a pretty serious accusation.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
It is said rat battle. You know, I see Drake.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Listen, if you're Kendrick Lamar, you have the song of
the year, you want to grab me for it. It's
what everyone's gonna be looking for to There's zero point
zero chance he doesn't perform that song.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
It's just rap game.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
You just just like a crime, changed the one word
pedophile just to make it just.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
But Drake took all these low blow shots true also,
so that's what happens in a rap battle. And it's
an anthem. Now it is a worldwide anthem. You can't
changed the words in an anthem. It's a Grammy winning anthem.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
That stadium is gonna sing him anyway.

Speaker 9 (23:06):
If you if you did watch the Grammys, which we did,
you saw that every major artist at the Grammys.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Was singing along with that song. So that song is
not going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Drake was crying in the corner, right he was there.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Drake just was in the worst way possible.

Speaker 9 (23:19):
All right, over to another big story we heard about
Marcus Jordan's d UI or st Michael Jordan's son. Well,
the police report has been released and some of the
details of this are hilarious. Obviously, it's horrible that he
had a dui. He was caught on his lambeau got
stuck on train tracks.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Well, his explanation is whack to like, Hey, I'm at
a right hand turn if there was a side street.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Oh, it was.

Speaker 9 (23:41):
Following my GPS, so let me into the train tracks.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
It's Michael Scott in the office when he did when
he drove into a river or a baker.

Speaker 9 (23:48):
Not only was he belligerent with officers, he was so
upset with when he was detained with the music situation
at the facility. Apparently, according to the police report, he
was demanding that they play and this by the way,
this happened this week, demanding that they play holiday music,
most more specifically, that they play Mariah Carey up in
this bee. So apparently All I Want for Christmas is

(24:09):
a huge hit. In February of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
It will go away.

Speaker 9 (24:13):
So yeah, a lot of just details coming out about
this Marcus Jordan not looking great Midweek or major.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
I think it's major.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Unfortunately, because of his name, his father's name, who he
was quick to throw out there the moment he realized
he was in trouble, he didn't hesitate to be like, yeah,
Michael Jordan's son. Yeah, a whole thing's embarrassing. So major
because of his last name, Mariah.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
You're saying Mariah Carey specifically by name. Interesting.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
I think it's major because the story is so weird
that just to show you how how off hu, I
don't he said the word. By the way, if you
watch a video, he says the word inebriated, anebriate.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
You don't use a big word like that. But to
request Mariah, I.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Don't blame he listen. No, no one should get free pay.
You know, you break the law, you break the law.
I get it, But I mean, I think if you're
Michael Jordan's kid, you almost have to drop the name,
hoping that maybe it's like a super fan, Like I
really think that I get why he did it.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Ben looked up bad, horrible, looked all right.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
If you're a fan that's upset about the Luca trade
and you're a Mav mav season ticket holder, you.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
May be able to get your money back. I don't
if you've heard about this.

Speaker 9 (25:24):
Fans who purchased ticket blocks prior to the season have
reportedly been contacted by the Mavericks organization with an offer
to refund their money in wake of the trade. Fans
were posting some post of that like they were offered
two k for as a refund, other fans confirming they
were given a similar option. Mavericks haven't released an official
statement that they're refunding, but they did say that they

(25:45):
value their season ticket holders relationships and that reps are
available to take calls from members with any concern So
it sounds like they are doing a little bit of
damage control.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Since this was a surprise to everyone midweek or major
this is the weakest.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
We talked about it in depth on the Colin Cowherd Show.
We filled in earlier, so catching on the podcast, But
for so many reasons, the Mavericks should be like, deal
with it. We made it, dope move be excited about it,
But it's really to appease and accommodate the Karens of
the world and to shut them up, which makes it
extra week.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
So I think it's just a way of putting the.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
Fire out, as you explained, Spot, but super weak that
they'd even have to explain this.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
It's a triple B move. It's baby be behavior.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Yeah, it's to accommodate sports. Crybaby. It's a cry baby move.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
And I said to these guys earlier, I also hate
the move because you're the Mavericks and the Mavericks it
almost seems like you're saying, yeah, we got the short
end of this trade, Like the Mavericks should be excited
about getting Anthony Davis. He's a little slounge. It's not
like they give up Luca for a bag of potato chips.
You know, they got Anthony Davis, a fan.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
How are you not excited about seeing that? How it
pans out? That's a hot ticket now, I know, Spot,
we got to go.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
But you're a foodie. How did you not bring up
the Taylor Swift is gonna have in the sweet?

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Did you see this?

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Oh? I didn't see it?

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Now, Opster case d is waged tender loin, oh h
colossal shrimp and and alligator sauce brisket like they are
breaking out all the top.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Food for Taylor.

Speaker 9 (27:14):
One of my stories was about all the Super Bowl
suites and by the way, they're ranging from five hundred
thousand for like obstructed view up to the suite that
I assumed Taylor. So it has three million, which is
the most sought after suite that holds forty five people.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Obstructive view?

Speaker 4 (27:27):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (27:28):
A jade and smizatt infronty Yeah, I think so, Thanks buddy,
all right, thanks good one. There was a guy, there
was a guy Rich. There's a guy from me wearing
I want can't do grabby jokes.

Speaker 9 (27:41):
Four days later, No too late, sorry, thanks guys, fun,
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Now we still have lots to get too Rich if
we have time. I do want to talk about j
D Martinez. You know what, let's let's wrap with Jadi.
This is an interesting story. What is he doing post baseball?

Speaker 3 (27:57):
We'll let you know.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
We are live from New Orleans Media Row Cavino and Rich.
Now Cavino, that sweet Jackie, you got, Thank you very major.

Warner and Puka Nakua in for Colin Cowherd earlier again
checked the podcast, and we also had Malcolm Butler stopped
by earlier today on this show. Again, if you missed
any of it, catch it Covino and Rich wherever you
stream your podcast now.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
When I was talking to Malcolm, you know, I was
looking at the guy.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
He's thirty four years old and he's retired already for
the past three years. I mean, he's accomplished a lot,
two time Super Bowl champion, he's only thirty four. He
did mention that he's coaching high school kids and football
and everything, but I'm sure the guy still wants to compete.
That's the thing with athletes. They retire so young, but
they still have that competitive juice.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
And you know what, It's sort of like, in a way,
I've never thought of this analogy, but they're sort of
like kid stars.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, in a way, I see what you making. You
have a game and ate him up and spin him out.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
It's almost like if you're a you know, if you're
a child actor, you're on a show for like six
years and they're that cute anymore, and then you're on
Yeah you're an NFL player. You're in the NFL three four, five,
six years, and then yeah, you can have a great life,
but you're no longer an NFL player.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
So JD.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Martinez, superstar with the Red Sox, it was injured and
bounced around, ended up on Rich's Mets. Might be doing
something that we may see more of in the future.
That's why I brought up Malcolm Butler and all these
young athletes that are, you know, retired in their thirties.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
J D.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Martinez was signed by some sort of pickleball brand in
league called Jewela. I'm not familiar with it. I don't
play pickleball. I've never played, but I'm not against it. Joola.
For me, it's like do I take on golf or
do I get into pickleball.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
I'll give you your answer. Yeah, I know you. You're really good
at ping pong.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
We've played tennis before and we're oed. Yeah, pickleball seems
like a perfect in between. When I go to Texas,
my wife's from New Brothels, Yeah, there's a big gym there.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
I'll go to a week, stay for like a week.
Young old everyone did, they're playing. I'm not opposed to it.
Every court is taken. It looks so fun blowing up.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
There's professional leagues now, the story with Jady Martinez is
that there's no ceiling on his potential.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Apparently he's really good.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
And when we talked to Puka Nakua early, he's like,
I've played, but a guy like Jady Martinez probably whooped me,
like I'm not good enough to go pro.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Oh yeah, young old, it's listen.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
You don't need you don't need the athleticism of tennis,
and it's you know, more intense than ping pong.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
I think pickleball is such a great activity.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
I'm surprised my dad doesn't get into pickle ball because
my dad plays tennis. But he's like seventy now, so
maybe it's time to play a little pickleball.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Not only is this JD Martinez story making me think
maybe that's something we get into, but it has to
be Tom Brady's very involved in that to say it
has to be like lightening some fires and sparking some
thought for a lot of former athletes to say him, well,
maybe I do something like that.

Speaker 3 (31:55):
If there's contracts to.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Be had and money to be made and I'm I'm
an athlete, and you.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Got those competitive juices, he got those.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
There's only so many broadcasting opportunities available, right, So if
they still want to compete and have fun and get sponsorships,
maybe that's more of an angle in the future that
we need to explore.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
If you were told that some of your favorite NBA, NFL,
and Major League Baseball stars competed against each other in pickleball,
I was like, Covina this Saturday, guess who's playing. It's uh,
you know, Drew Brees against Manny Ramirez in pickleball. Like, honestly,
it sounds ridiculous, But if it's also an avenue for
some of our favorite retired athletes, might be fun.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Right, You're right to these guys.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
So j d miwork Martinez going pro after baseball. He
signed a professional contract with a pickleball company or league. Again,
I don't know what Jewela is jo o La, but anyway,
I feel like you'd respecthim more of it had a
better name. I feel like Cavino's pickleball sounds stupid.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Yeah, you know what, You're absolutely right, I don't. I
don't like that, honestly, Daddy.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
There's TV shows that Cavino has refused because he doesn't
like their name, like Handmaid's Tale.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
They look like pilgrims.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Well check this guys, we're gonna be heading out tonight, Pickle,
and we're gonna be partying here in New Orleans, and
we're gonna come back with all the stories tomorrow, okay,
and more guests stopping by. Never know who's gonna stop
by a radio row, so join us, and uh yeah,
we'll come back with some juice tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
No doubt.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Until then at Kylvin and Ritch, a lot of fun
clips from today's show, having great times here in New
Orleans until then, are we there?

Speaker 4 (33:23):
You baby?

Speaker 3 (33:24):
You promise man? Bye?

Speaker 2 (33:26):
