(01:06):
got a weekend hobnobbing. Weekend hobnobbin. We have a story
breaking news in the world of pop culture sports. We'll
get to in a second, but any less thoughts on
the first pitch, the embarrassing one by Steven A and
the amazing one by Give Promps. We're they're due. It's
like when Michael Jackson died. Remember, no one really talked
(01:27):
about Pharah Fawcett. She died on the same day. She
died on the same day. Well, it was a really
nice story that happened this week, and it was Bruce
Dark grand Raul's mom. She was at the Dodgers game.
She hadn't seen her son pitch in seven years, and
he pitched a one two three, scoreless eighth and he
walked off the mound, pointing at the skybox in tears.
(01:50):
They were both in tears, cheering, celebrating her son's performance.
You know, look at my son doing his thing in
the big leagues. And prior to this moment, she threw
out the first pitch, and man, she threw a nice
first pitch. It was legendary. It really was.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
The first pitch We're very pleased to welcome to Dodger
Stadi once again.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Roosstar Grado's mom.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Where he against it, no where against it a strike,
and then in the same day, You're right, stephen A
embarrasses himself. And I'm a stephen A fan. I like
steven A. But let me take this clear too, Yes,
we like stephen A. I love steven A. I watch
him all the time, A lot of I like it,
(02:42):
you know, I love all those dudes. But I gotta say,
it's super embarrassing when you're as as bold as he
is and as critical as he is to get out
there and not throw a strike. Cowboys Cowboys fans must
have loved Oh yeah, exactly. And he's been a good
sport about it. But he we're here to say he
(03:02):
should probably be a little more embarrassed. Okay, is it
and is it understandable to some people? Or should he
be more embarrassed? A seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
I always embarrassed from the start, though, rich he throws
on a Jeter jersey, he comes out with a button
down collared shirt, like from the get go, just optically visually,
I'm like, this is a bad look. Why does he
(03:24):
have a jersey on top you were a button down? Yes?
I noticed it. I noticed that it looks silly. He
had a jersey on top of a button down. That's common. No,
it's not. It was noticeable, and he were talking about
it all day on ESPN, and it's something that I
also picked up on. It looked dumb, It looked uncomfortable.
Are you gonna go out there for all those people
(03:45):
you want to throw a strike? Better? You better be comfortable?
And he blew it. He blew, he said, And he
said the lights are too bright, and once he got
on that mound, he says, it's ten inches higher. I
believe it's a little higher than that.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
He kept saying that he goes but once he got
on that mount, guys, it seemed like a mile away
and the lights are too bright, and he admitted he choked.
So you know, does that does that mean maybe he
should be less critical? No? Do you think understandable? No? No? No.
Do you think in those moments, in those moments, do
(04:21):
you feel like you would freeze? And do you feel
like you don't want those opportunities because you don't want
to see what would happen a little of both. I'd
like to believe I played baseball long enough to be
able to throw at least to the catcher, not a
perfect strike, like like our president. Remember that, that was awesome.
That was the best one all time. Yeah, when George
(04:41):
Bush did that after nine to eleven, that was incredible.
Again when you factor in the moment and everybody watching.
But he was wearing a kevlar, you know, bulletproof thing underneath.
I think I'd be able to do it, rich, I
really do. I mean, of course it's nerve racking, but
I would be able to do it. I look at
it this way. Look at some of the worst first pitches.
(05:04):
Were you expecting much from Fittycent, Mariah Carey, Baba Booie
from the Howard Stern Show. Our buddy Gary Delabatemparrison. He's
a big Mets fan. He waited his whole life to
do it, and that one moment. They've invited him back.
But I think he sorted then he said, yeah, but
Gary not old and boisterous as a steven A. That's
what makes this even a bigger story, you know. I mean,
(05:24):
then you got to ask yourself. I don't want to
harp on this, But then you got to ask yourself
to what degree do you throw the ball? Like Danny
if you get on the mound right Like I'm thinking,
I'm not a star player, but if you're actively playing,
like even softball as a grown man, you're throwing a
ball every week, it's a baseball softball different. I get that,
(05:44):
But do you look like more of an ass if
you get up there and try to throw some heat
and throw a bad pitch? Do you throw like a
soft pitch? In there? Trying to make sure, because my
instinct would be like if I got up there, my
instinct would be like, why you know, this is a
one time opportunity. I'm gonna try to throw the ball.
I'm gonna throw some heat. Then if I then I'd
(06:05):
be nervous, like, oh, I wouldn't try to throw heat. Look,
everyone's gonna have a different approach. It looked like Steven
ain't never threw a ball ever. I know he's a
basketball dude, but it looked like he never threw over.
That's why I was shocked, because I feel like, as
a dude, every guy daydreams about that. Every I notice
probably is wrong in today's world, especially but you could
judge another dude by the way he throws. And I'm like,
(06:25):
it looks like he never threw ever, And Danny g
I know you have a story about our very own
Ben Malley right, tell us the story.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
I don't know it, and you just you just don't
want the ball to bounce, right, Like that's the biggest
pressure on you. I think, so we got they they're
showing it on the screens right now. The Stephen ag Yeah, dude.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Like maybe like a mechanic analyzing on the MLB network
right now.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Yeah, they did a computerized breakdown of his arm angle arm.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
There's no way you missed it. But he bounced it
by maybe forty feet. If that guy showed up to
play ball with my team on a random softball game,
we'd be like, you know, this guy's got no skills.
That's a bad throw. He has never thrown a baseball.
And look they're showing it back.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
They listened to our first hour.
Speaker 5 (07:12):
Not that this would ever happen, but I know if
I was given the opportunity to do a first pitch,
I would probably lob it, but I would still aim
like I would still get to the home plate.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yeah, you don't know I.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
Can throw, you know, Stephen, I thought that. I think
he was trying to throw heat. I think that's the problem.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
He would do the about thirty miles an hour. He
was trying to he was trying.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
He was try. That's horrible.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I'll admit something. He's saying, it's a change. Before you finished.
Ben Mallis Elements, I've said the story once on the air.
I'm more of a baseball guy than a basketball guy.
When I was in college, I went to Syracuse. They
randomly selected my seat. I'm telling you, like it was
like if you were sitting in section on Rod Roddy
called your name, dude, come on down a new car.
(07:57):
They called my seat in the student section if you're
in Section one, Row sixteen, seat five. I'm like, holy Cross,
that's me. I got thirty seconds from the three point line.
Everyone was like one hundred dollars. I'll be the first
to admit I ended up winning a couple hundred dollars
(08:18):
my first two air balls. Because it's a glass backboard
with students and fans behind you. You played basketball, but
guess what, you played basketball? The park, the gym, you know,
like the school with usure's different. Like in high school,
there's like it's not there's no one behind the backboard
unless you go to like a really high end school.
(08:38):
I had never shot a basketball where it was a
glass backboard where fans were moving behind the differences. Here,
you're just a goofy student. Stephen A. Smith is a
big time loudmouth. Eventually, eventually I got the person. You know,
it's like death perception because it's but first pitch. Maybe
you get a minor league team to do this at first.
(08:59):
I don't think calling the Dodgers is our best bet
right now, but I'd like to see how you and
I do. Tell us what Ben Mallard, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
I was gonna say.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
It was a minor league team, the Blaze, who are
now defunct, and Ben likes to joke that we shut
the team down. They invited the Ben Mallard Show crew
to throw out the first pitches. Now Ben hyped us
up to where he made it a Mallard meet and greet.
There was probably a good one hundred listeners there at
this show, and that put extra pressure on us because
(09:31):
the Mallard and militia were chanting our names as we
were standing there on the mount and and so I'm
feeling extra tight, and I was like, rich law, I
wanted to throw some heat. Okay, So Mallard goes first.
He threw a lollipop.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
All right, Now that's that's a that's an easy way out.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Yes, now it was a strike, but it was a
total phil Necro pitch. It was all he gave. He
gave you an r a dicky yeah. Uh So then
Eddie Garcia on his updates, he comes up. He throws
a curveball outside but it was a decent pitch.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Then it's my turn.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
I come up and I'm like, man, these guys are
throwing lollipops, let me throw some gas. I threw a
very good well it wasn't a strike. I threw some heat,
but it was way over the pitcher's head and it
hit the solid wood.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Uh yes, oh.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
And it was my Ricky wild Thing Vaughan moment, because dude,
it was major heat but it was nowhere near a strike.
So people are clapping and everything, and the announcer was like,
well he threw some heat at least. And then it's
Coop's turn, the producer of Ben Maller. He gets up
and he bounces it. He threw a stephen a and
so that kind of was the shield for all of
(10:53):
us because everybody went away talking about Coops off the hook.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, no one cared about you, but about the nerves
for that. But based on what Danny G just said,
he talked about four different dudes getting a chance to
do a first pitch with the with the show, everyone
had a different approach. One guy's like, I'm gonna lob
it in and play it safe. Danny's like I'm throwing heat.
The other dude's like, I'm gonna throw a curveball because
if I mess up, I could jokingly be like I
(11:18):
was trying to throw a curveball and then the bounce,
Like there was four different results. I'm going full Quizinberry
if I get the shot.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
You know, there is video of Danny G's first pitch, yeah,
on YouTube.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
So actually I'm looking at it right now. I can't
wait to see this. I gotta see this now, Danny G.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Were you nervous though?
Speaker 3 (11:37):
I was, and and you know, I didn't want to
throw a lollipop, So that was my thinking, but it
just it easily got away from me. Yeah, but it
was Still it was a fun experience, but I could
understand why steven A would be tight like that Yankee.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Stadium where oh yeah, Jersey, the lights. I could see
the stress.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
And if I had, if I had to do it again,
I would go with the breaking ball. I would I
would like, just throw a strike over the plate.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
It's humbling and we're talking smack because he was a
good sport about it too. He was he's taking it
on the chin. And look, I get it. He's under
the bright lights. He's not a baseball player. It's not
as easy as it looks. And let's see, all right,
here we go. He's okay.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
The high heat.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
My god, that's hilarious.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah, and see if you can find Coops on there.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Oh that's so funny. Well, you know what, Well, we'll
try to post that at coving On rich on our
Instagram story.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
The mound does mess with you, though, Like you talked
about the depth perception, Like when you're on a mound,
you're standing. It may not be that big, but that's
what I would think that if you're stephen A in
that scenario, you're thinking you're having to keep it low.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, I can understand, you know how that happens. But again,
when you're steven A, you can't let that happen because
you know you're gonna get it. He's getting a big
time today. But if unless you've never done it to
prove you could, you really can't talk smack. So we
have to make this happen, maybe the beginning of next
baseball season, because you know we're winding down now. Minor
(13:10):
league baseball's done for the most part. Maybe not, that's
our shot, because like these games a matter less. But
my point is I could all go out of smack.
But for all I know, I get up there, like guys,
shut your mouths. I'm gonna thaw like an eighty mile
an hour, you know, fastball right down the middle. I
could be the worst of all. You do, Look I do. Look.
I used to go to a ton of Mets games.
I had season tickets when I lived in New York,
(13:30):
as did you. We worked for sn Y. You see
the first pitch every game, and it's always like a
season ticket holder or someone with a corporation. I'm always
fascinated how infrequently someone throws a pitch. It looks like
they've ever played the game. You know what I feel?
Like thinking, nobody overthink this. I feel like I got
to go up there and throw eight out of ten.
(13:51):
People that throw out a first pitch look like they've
never held a baseball in their life, and that's what
fascinates me. Like didn't we all play little league? I
would think that everyone played little league? All right, Well, hey,
let's move from baseball to football. Time to make some picks.
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
It's time to parlay into your weekend. Rich Davis loves parlays.
You're making money, and he loves his new solar panels.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Solar Boy drafting my Solar Power parlay. Ah raight lose.
You're making money money, well, think about it. Oh, by
the way, they finally flipped the switch on my solar
I'm officially solar Boy. Nice Solar Boy. The Solar Boys.
Solar Power Parlay with Rich Davis brought to you by

DraftKings dot com slash sportsbook for details. Again use code
cr show. I got a parlay and a teaser bet. Nice.
I like what I got going on this week. So
(14:58):
all right, we already won last night with the Niners.
Remember we yesterday we said by the point, we didn't
even need to buy the point. But I liked minus
nine and a half tonight. Maybe put these into play
for the weekend. Here's your three team parlay. We're going
money lines, no points. I don't have the I don't know.
I don't have the belief in some of these points
spreads money line meaning you know, for the non gambler,
(15:21):
the money line means the team just needs to win.
The Lions are at home against the Falcons. I just
don't see the Lions losing two home games in a row.
I told you the Falcons they played two first year quarterbacks,
so they're two and oh but they barely squeezed by Yeah,
they squeezed by two first year quarterbacks. They're playing in Detroit.
(15:41):
It's time for the Falcons to get their first l
and the Lions, we forgot. They beat the Chiefs week one.
There was a lot of hype that will let down
loss against Seattle last week. So I like the Lions
money line just winning the game. They're minus three. But
I don't even like the three do money line. Danny's
gonna like this, some people hate it. I like the
Raiders money line. Raiders are two and a half three
point favorites in places. I like the Raiders at home
(16:04):
to beat the Steelers. I am not sold on Kenny
Pickett week one. Did nothing against the Niners last week.
I mean, I don't even think he looked good against Cleveland.
They won, but he didn't look good.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
I think Jacobe Meyers out of concussion protocol is a
big deal, you know it.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
He was Jimmy G's go to guy week one, So listen.
I think they're both like good teams. I just think
they're I believe more of the Raiders. I am not
on board with this Steelers team being good. I think
they're mediocres so money line Raiders. Either way, I think
it's gouda be a fun game. Isn't it be a
nice little back? Ye know, a lot of people would
say stay away from this game. You know, I'm diving ahead,
and I don't know why. I like it Raiders at home,
(16:42):
Lions at home, and they're on the road. But the
Eagles are. Yeah, I got it when it was four.
They're five point favorites now in Tampa. Money line that
as well. Eagles just need to beat Tampa in Tampa. So,
I mean, I like what Baker Mayfield's doing with the Bucks. Honestly,
he won over the fans, the clubhouse, the locker room, everything.
(17:03):
But the Eagles are a better team. You know, sometime
you're gonna lose. The best teams lose, even the Buccaneers
starting two and oh that was surprising. They're gonna lose
to the Eagles this weekend. So Lions Raiders Eagles money
line one hundred wins, three oh six. So Lions Raiders Eagles.
And then I got a teaser bet that I like,
(17:24):
I'll throw in the mix to Ravens. There's short a
couple guys. We heard we heard that Odell Beckham Junior
is not playing. They got some injuries, but I don't know.
I still I still like the Ravens over the Colts.
Colts don't have Richardson unless you are on this Gardner
Minshew's de man. You know, narrative I don't know. I
like the Ravens to win by one in a seven
(17:45):
point teaser, so you're wagering one thirty one hundred. Even
if you think Minshew is the man and is that
spark plug, I still think, yeah, the Ravens raven So
Ravens minus won at home, so they just really sort
of need to win. And if you take that seven
point on a teaser Cowboys two and oh on the
road at zero to two Cardinals, some people are like,
what if this is the Upset special at the beginning
(18:06):
of the year. It's not Cardinal Stink Cowboys are gonna
romp them. That's why I like it. Minus five and
a half. So Cowboys minus five and a half Ravens
minus one in a teaser, bet lock and Load. Let's go. Wow.
Those are your parlays and teasers DraftKings, Thank you, my friend. No,
those are your Solar Power play Power teasers from Rich Davis,
(18:28):
the Solar Boy. All right, good stuff, man, thank you.
And we still got that breaking news we got to
get to you know what can we get to that next? Yeah,
let's do it. All right, there's a there's something that
Tom Brady's X said that makes me roll my eyes
that they're so far in the back of my head
right now. You got to hear what she said, because
it's sort of like it's like really And if we

(21:50):
But there's another story though sounded a little juicy. Yeah,
it's it's very Uh. I would play the breaking news sounder,
but it's really not breaking news, so I'd be misleading everyone.
So spot give us the give us the breaking news
in the world of Tom Brady and his ex wife Giselle.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
Here's the headline, courtesy of TMZ. I wasn't quote living
while married to Tom Brady. I was quote surviving, says Gizelle.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Even if that's out of context, you're talking about Tom Brady.
So no matter what you say, that's gonna be big news.
And look, she's entitled to her own opinions and to
speak her own truth and to live her own life.
But Tom's still her kid's dad. And why speak out
on anything personal to TMZ anyway when you know everybody's
(22:38):
gonna be speculating because again it's Tom Brady and Gizelle.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
She gave an interview on CBS News Sunday morning, and
it's been a year since they broke up, and she said,
you know, she's been living on surviving or surviving not living.
She can now choose more of what I want, something
that's obviously feels.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
She's a survivor.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Cure the Destiny's child, something that obviously feels right to her. Look,
I could teach her how to crack an egg into
a top ramen. Look, I understand. I understand you're living
for Tom and that could be frustrating, right, especially when
she's her own woman and successful in her own right,
made more money than Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Right.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
I get it, like she wants to do what she
wants to do, and she was doing everything for Tom
and the family, and that sucks, and that's the sacrifice.
But I just feel like it's so unnecessary to say
something like that to be dissected by the public, like
I wasn't living for me. What was the quote the
exact headline again.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
She's she said, I wasn't quote living while married to
Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
I was quote surviving. You know who survives someone on foodstamps?
You know who's surviving, single mom working four jobs to
you know, that's why that's like survivibe surviving. But he's
in a desert island running SOS rocks. Tom Brady has
to see that and just roll his eyes that I
(24:04):
rolled my eyes.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I'm sure no marriage relationship is perfect, but you know what,
it goes back to that old Chris Rock's stand up
comedy routine. Sometimes you have to play the tambourine. And
that always sticks with me because I think a lot
of times when you have two superstars that are getting married,
and this is a lot of times the trouble with
a celebrity couple. Not to get old gossipy, but you
(24:26):
said Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, they're suing each other lawsuit.
He wants to bring their kids back to the UK.
He's like, now kids are staying here, I have their passports.
It's sticky. You know what happens. It's two alpha people,
man and woman. And not only is it's two people
that are super successful. No one wants to play the tambourine.
(24:48):
And a lot of times in a successful marriage or relationship,
the key to the success is, Hey, listen, you're having
a good you know right now, work is working out
for you. I'm gonna your number one cheerleader, because there'll
be a time where you become my cheerleader and then
I become your cheerleader. If two people are trying to
be the starting quarterback, it's not gonna work. You can't
(25:10):
have a Steve Young and a Joe Montana. I mean, look,
they were together for a long time, so I'm sure
she did her share of playing the tambourine. I'm sure
the relationship was tough at times, and Tom was probably saying,
I'll play the tambourine soon enough. I promise that one more.
There's no need for that sort of speak when you know,
when you're as big as they are, it's just and
(25:32):
this is the relationship doesn't need at that. It's no
knock at gazelle. I'm just saying there are some people.
There are some people that are just not cut out
for all that I may be one of them. There's
people that are not cut out to play the tambourine.
And I say that meaning Chris Rock's stand up. It is.
Every band has a lead saying or guitar player. Someone's
playing the tambourine. They're the support. They're letting someone else
(25:55):
take the lead in that money. Yeah, they're leting someone
else get the shine. There's plenty of people that are like, Hey,
I'm gonna let you have the shine. Your job, your
career at this moment is best for our family, for
our income, for the kids. I'm gonna let you shine
Some people are incapable of that. And I'm not saying again,
I'm not talking negative about Gazelle, but hearing that statement
(26:17):
makes me think that like surviving, I'm out living. Oh
I'm sure she means emotion. She's living and she's living
and making her choices. Now, it's like, well, isn't sort
of a marriage about not always getting what you want?
Isn't a healthy marriage about like sacrifice? Like, yo, I'm
not always gonna get what I want? Where you live,
what you do hours, who picks the kids up? Who
does it? That crap? Ain't easy? It's not so. I
(26:42):
think if you have two superstars, that will always be
a problem. And that's why a lot of these celebrity
couples are grand opening grand clothing, because you know, they're
constantly told by everyone in their life how great they
are and they're the best, and then they hit then
they fall in love with someone who's also the greatest
and the best. Who takes a back seat. Gazelle's got
one hundred million dollars model in cons Tom Brady's like, yeah,
I retired and I have a three hundred million dollar
(27:03):
contract waiting to be a broadcaster. Who's gonna say no, no,
I'm in chill mode. They both want to be the star.
And even if she meant nothing that serious by what
she said, I feel what she said. It's their headline
and that's what people are gonna run with.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
I mean, there was speculation in the last couple of
years that they may have had an agreement that he'd
be done, he'd be done, and they would like live
to finally get on with their life, and then he
went back to play again, and so maybe that's what
she meant, Like, you know, I was really forcing myself
through the last couple of years of marriage because he
was dragging me.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
In every restraction. We all know the story or the
gist of it, right, we all know it didn't work out,
and that's sad and relatable and it happens. So there's
no need for it to be readdressed publicly again for
the world to speculate like we are right now in
National Rady. He's never really been addressed by no, we
need to. It's unup our business. I'm the only reason
(27:58):
we're sayings Brady tom Ready, right, He's like yeah, but
he's like, why I thought we were past this, but
we're moving into a good place.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
Wouldn't you rather hear it directly from the source rather
than all the speculation that over it.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
And the only reason we're even talking about it right
now is because she did an interview on a national
CBS show.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Maybe she's planning for her next step.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
But what I'm saying is, you don't know that was unnecessary.
It feels she's got a book coming out. It just
hit the news, and that's our first instinct as we
let it simmer, like, you know, doesn't feel necessary at
this point. And again that's her side and that's her truth.
But it's like we're past that. Everyone loves to say
you said the same of the day to me in
(28:42):
regard to the Joe Jonas Sophie Turner thing, Yeah he said,
bro didn't the other day they just said it's nice
and amicable. Everyone says that crap, that's what you have
to say initially, right, and now they're suing for custody.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
It could also be a sexy quote out of context.
I would love to hear the.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
But when we see the interview on Yeah You're gonna get,
you're gonna get a lot of people saying, come on now,
aout that would root our conversation. I know, but it's like,
all I'm saying is that in every marriage or relationship,
just remember it's hard. We all know that. Right around
listening now, I was like, you know, relationships are not easy.
And when you have two super successful alpha people that
are dominant and great at what they do, and that's
(29:19):
a compliment to them, Giselle and Tom, two superstars, her
saying like, yeah, I was. I wasn't living, I was surviving.
I don't think either one of them ever really wanted
to say I'm gonna take the back seat now. Everyone
deserves to live their happiest life.
Speaker 5 (29:33):
Just because you signed a piece of paper or even
if you have kids, doesn't mean that you have to
like be unhappy.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Yeah, but I feel like, but it's just assumed that
you're unhappy in that spots by relationship. It's already assumed. Yeah,
it's already assumed true. Damn night, Well, Dann Bayer, what
is going on in your world? Man? Give us an
update other than a Giselle saying that she's in survival most.
Speaker 6 (29:54):
Yeah, a bunch of stuff. Buccaneers. They won't one of
Tom's former teams. They won't play until Monday. But focus
on the games. On Sunday, a big showdown in Minneapolis,
Vikings and Chargers both teams zero to two. Chargers running
back Austin Eckler out of that game, not gonna play,
going to miss his second straight contest because of an
ankle injury.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Vikings getting some good news.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
Left tackle Christian Darra saw off the injury report and
is expected to start in that game. Cam Akers, though
not going to make his Vikings debut in that contest,
not likely to, according to the head coach Kevin O'Connell.
Forty nine Ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John
Lynch got multi year contract extensions from the team today.
Shanahan also said wide receiver Deebo Samuel is day to
(30:35):
day with sore ribs. Do you hear what happened in
Chicago with the Bears. More than one hundred thousand dollars
worth of equipment was stolen from Soldier Field on Wednesday night.
Officials say a few lawnmowers and gators were taken after
thieves tore down a fence to access the equipment at
a parking garage at the stadium. Yes, Steelers linebacker Kwan
Alexander if you guys remember, and it's okay if you don't,
(30:57):
but had a hit on Chase Edmonds of the Buccaneers
in the preseason. Lord his helmet was fined forty three
thousand dollars for that hit. NFL rescinded it today, So
he's the happiest of anyone.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Thumbs blinked.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
The Rocky six nothing moved a half game up on
the Marlins for the final wildcard in the NL. Sean
Doolittle retired after eleven seasons, so the reliever calling it quits, guys,
back to you.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Thanks Dan. The battle of the zero to two teams
that were expected to, you know, be playoff teams Chargers
Vikings this weekend, yes, originally was even Vegas. No point spread,
you know, even push it's leaning one and a half
for one points at one point in the favorite of Minnesota.
You think that's because Eckler is not plying? Would that
be the explanation? We think the sentiment is if people
(31:43):
think Minnesota is a better team.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
Well, it's only a point. It's only a point, yeah,
I would say too, as well as money was probably
pouring in on Minnesota as a coin flip.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
So maybe the line moved that way.
Speaker 6 (31:56):
Yeah, but yeah, I mean still I think that's the
game of the week, you know, Like, I mean, there's
a lot out there, but that is the game because
to go in three not good even seventeen game schedule.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
I heard the stat and I'm gonna be made. I'm
partially making this up, but I'm close if someone can
figure the spot. Can you look this up real quick?
I think teams that start oh and three have only
made the playoffs six times out of like hundreds of
teams that have started own three. I think six out
of like a two or three hundred campion possibility. Yeah,
so where sounds Really it's like two point two percent
(32:31):
of teams that start oh and three.
Speaker 6 (32:32):
At least, now there's an extra playoff spot, is true?
There is an extra game in the regular Shit it.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Says only four teams have ever made the playoffs after
starting oh and three.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Yeah, it's not it's not likely. So Chargers thought, yikes,
all right, well hey that's the that is the game
of the week. All right, let's uh, let's talk about

You he rolled their eyes at each other every day
because each guy thinks they have the healthiest answer. I'll
give you an example. Ty Shirt was washing off his
fruits and vegetables for his famous Fox Sports radio shakes
he makes every day, and he's like, oh, Rich, look
at this. There was a tiny little caterpillar, a little
(36:36):
little caterpillar on his berries. And he goes, ah, that
means it's good because a caterpillar wouldn't beyond fruit of
vegetables that had pesticides, which makes sense. And then spot
us down the.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
Hallway and he's like, Jesus, this guy all rights say,
who knows more?
Speaker 3 (36:55):

beef to rest. Yeah, Spotty, your name is your buzzer.
Alex got a buzzing with your name because they eat beef.
We can't put it the rest. All right, Here we go.
Number one, scanning the list of ingredients on a box
of low fat cookies you see partially hydraenated vegetable oil
(37:17):

They're healthier than most other snacks. B. Put them back.
They're probably bad for your heart. Or see keep reading.
Other ingredients on the box are more important, spot, Spot.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
B put them back. They're not good for you, Yes,
for your heart, bad for your heart.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Partially hydrogenated oils are hor Alex.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Was laughing, though he knew immediately, and Alex's first those
who would even eat such things? That was a very
condescending laugh. That was the same laugh. That was the
same left. Tom Brady gave a reporter once when they
asked him about his wardrobe, and he's like, you.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
You questioning me? I Tom Brady, all right, spy, don't
eat fruits and nuts. Spot is on the board.
Speaker 4 (38:02):

How do fruits and vegetables help prevent heart disease? A
protecting arteries from injury, B by lowering cholesterol levels, C
by lowering blood pressure or D all of the above,

under his peas and rice here the whole time.
Speaker 1 (38:38):

but it looks like we're just creating more. For another

Speaker 3 (38:45):
Tough question, all right, question three, you should have no
more than blank tea spoon or spoons of sodium a
day A half, B one or C two spot spot.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
I'm gonna say one yes, correct answer.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Does that it would be half because I'm supposed to
have half the amount it recommended amount?
Speaker 9 (39:10):
Well, rowand would know that Celtic sea salt is the
best type of sodium.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
That's okay, I'll wait for a better question again. What
I feel like we're gonna have to just do this again.

contemplating retiring him and his wife and she's going through
a pregnancy. Travis, though, is in the mix and whenever
he's on the show, everything goes kind of crazy.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
So really good watch Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
And then Sunday night NBC Raiders home opener in Las
Vegas against the Steelers.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
