you know, its storylines are forming, Pretenders are being separated

(00:47):
from contenders. The Patriots are still undefeated. Oh yeah, there
are still four count them for winless teams. And the
Cleveland Browns where they continue to be so adorable before, ard, during,
and after games, as well as on and off the field.
Thank you for joining us tonight as we strive to

in but Midge, It's gonna be lit. This is straight
out of Vegas, the pregame show you always wanted, Fez.
Before we look ahead, we do need to look back.

(01:51):
Thursday night, the Patriots, they go to six and O
they defeat the visiting New York Giants. Bill Bell check
now thirty four and two versus quarterbacks under the age
of But in spite of that victory, three touchdown victory,
you've got some concerns about the Patriots. Yes, and the

(02:12):
Patriots are my number one rated team in the NFL
by frankly pretty wide margin by three and ap points
right now over Kansas City. And my concerns with Tom Brady.
Brady has not played well the last three weeks started
with this game against Buffalo. In his last two games,
Brady has been sacked seven times, and he just does
not appear to be feeling the pressure. We saw the

(02:34):
Giants get that fumble six touchdown against him. What was
the last time that Brady just didn't see that hit coming?
And at age forty two, we got to be concerned. Currently,
Tom Brady's ranked twelfth in the league in qb R.
This is as low as I've seen Brady. I went
back like the last twelve years. Brady is not playing
like Tom Brady and his prime. Alright, So let's in

(02:55):
tact this for just a second, and I'll tell you why.
Because the real narrative around the Patriots this season has
been in defense. Who in their history of books are
written they mail they may well be historic in terms
of their performance. So it begs the question, let's talk
about historical perspective at some point the diminishing returns can

(03:16):
this defense carry Tom Brady? Although that sounds funny, but
think about it. Think about the question can this defense
carry them? And what historical perspective do we have in
the NFL. OH I think we got to look back
to two thousand fifteen and that Denver Bronco team right
where Peyton Manning was a shell of his former self.
Remember that while Oswiler or Peyton Manning, there was a

(03:39):
big debate who should even be quarterbacking as bad as
Peyton Manning was playing, and he was coming up on
forty and so I think there's a I'm not gonna
say now that Brady is not playing that he's playing
at a level that Peyton Manning was playing because Brady
just threw for yards. So he's playing at a much
higher level than Peyton Manning, who was at the bottom
in terms of QBR that year. But there's certainly pair

(04:00):
lells we can look at in that defense. This Patriots defense,
six games and I know they played a cupcake schedule,
defense has only given up three touchdowns. So what's happened?
The Jets got a couple of cheap touchdowns um that
the offense didn't score, and then last week the Giants
defense scored a touchdown. So the Jets aren't The Patriots
aren't giving up points, but even the points they're giving up,

(04:20):
oftentimes are not touchdowns given up by the defense. Pat's
continue to be a cover machine. Even though heading into
that game, Tom Brady was only two and six lifetime
as a favorite. When they were laying seventeen or more points,
he gets it done. But you also had real quickly.
Not for nothing. Some concerns about Danny Dimes, quarterback for
the New York Giants. Yes, so Daniel Jones. He certainly

(04:41):
has had to play tougher competition, so let me that's
a mitigating factor. But I cannot ignore the fact that
in his first game he was great against Tampa Bay.
In his second game, he was good against Washington. In
his third game, he was not very good at all
against Minnesota, and against the paid three defense, he was awful.

(05:02):
His last three games, he's thrown six interceptions. We have
to be concerned. I don't know if it's teams have
film on him. I don't know if he's um just
struggling with his decision making. But I saw him throwing
the ball into coverage and making horrible decisions against the Patriots.
All right, fair enough, and he had some issues with
turning the ball over due. But be that as it may.

(05:22):
Something to watch because whether or not the New York
Giants win games or go to the playoffs or whatever,
there's still gonna be opportunities for you to back them
if the numbers right, and we'll be talking about that
in future weeks. All right, let's look ahead seven hours
and twenty five minutes. We had across the pond in London,
the Carolina Panthers. What is the current line, because it's

(05:45):
lines move there playing Tampa Bay. Kyle, Allen and Caroline
are laying minus two and a half uptimius two and
a half against Tampa Bay and Bernie A lot of
this is all about the injuries to the Buck's offensive line,
So they're right tack on the right hard are out
right now for the Bucks. And think about this. The
last thing you need is distractions and injuries and cluster

(06:05):
injuries when you're traveling to London. And the betters have
taken notice of this and they are backing Carolina because
of that. A second reason I believe that they're back
in Carolina. Remember these teams, these are two division rivals,
and this is already the rematch. This is rare to
be playing a second divisional game against the same opponent
so early in the year. And that was the game

(06:26):
that Cam Newton was just a shell of himself, and
absolutely I could make the case that Carolina was the
better team, but they could not win that game the
way Cam played. And even as poorly as Cam Newton played,
completing less than half as passes, they still were in
a position Carolina was to win the game except for
McCaffrey got stuffed on the goal line. A couple of
other footnotes here. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers all and six

(06:47):
against the number when coming off consecutive road games, which
they are, and by the way, the Panthers. Let's plilet
on because I like the Panthers tomorrow. They're six and
one against the spread in games before a bye, and
obviously you have a bye after the London game. One
final thing, Kyle Allen. We talked about him last week.

(07:08):
Not sure which Carl Allen we would see well in
his young career four no straight up and against his
bread and Christian McCaffrey has become a one man wrecking crew. Absolutely.
In fact, Christian McCaffrey right now is the most valuable
player non quarterback to the Las Vegas line. I have
McCaffrey worth just over one and a half points, Bernie,

(07:29):
and it doesn't sound like much, but that's more than
any other players, more than Zeke Elliott, It's more than Barkley,
certainly more than any of the wide receivers, Michael Thomas,
whoever you want to pick um right now, Um McCaffrey
is the most valuable non quarterback in the betting lines.
And one last thing that supports my Tampa Bay play.
There's a bit of a divisional revenge factor here. Yeah,

(07:50):
that's really that week to Tampa Bay. Was lucky to
come out with that win. And because that, you always
like to have the team Carolina that's got the revenge.
And of course if I score that day was Tampa twenty,
Carolina fourteen against a one legged Cam Newton. As you recall,
let's head to Baltimore, the Ravens laying eleven. Is it

(08:11):
eleven or eleven and a half? Okay, it's eleven against
the visiting Cincinnati Bengals. By the way, as the season
continues to progress, the Baltimore Ravens, you're Baltimore Ravens are
now the favorite to win the a f C North.
Here in Las Vegas Procedures Entertainment minus one. If you
want to get out on the Ravens to win the NFC,

(08:33):
excuse me, the a f C North Cleveland just behind
them at plus one forty. What a difference a month makes.
Think about going back to September, all the hype about
the Cleveland Browns and then the Pittsburgh Steelers. Call this money.
The Browns were supposed to win nine games, the Steelers
were supposed to win nine a half games, and the
betting public was betting against these Ravens who were had
a season win of eight and a half. Now you

(08:54):
fast forward just six games later, and the Ravens of
the face well, and of course we'll get to Cleveland
in a minute, but I will tell you that I
never once drank the kool aid, bought the hype, whatever
metaphor you want to use. I thought they were for gays.
A matter of fact, throughout the summer was sleepy. I
would give my weekly Cleveland Browns public service message. For instance,

(09:16):
the last time Cleveland won nine games was two thousand seven.
The last time we went to the playoffs was two
thousand two. The last time they won a playoff game
was I think last time they won the division. But
I digress. Baltimore though, Let's talk about this game tomorrow. Fez.
The Ravens laying eleven against Cincinnati Baltimore only three seven

(09:38):
and one against. The number as a division host the
week after playing Pittsburgh stands to reason physical game, divisional game.
Your thoughts, Yeah, and if you watch that game, that
really was a tough, physical game. And it wasn't just
Rudolph that was taking big hits in that game. These
two teams always go after each other. I gotta tell you, Bernie,
I'm surprised Baltimore's laying eleven here. I think have to

(10:00):
look towards the Bengals. It's a big number, especially for
team Baltimore. Their defense has been awful this year. I
know Pro Football Focus has the Ravens in the bottom
five of the league in terms of their defense and
in terms of just the pure yards per play they
give up. Baltimore's ranked last in the league. They're missing
cornerbacks and they don't get a pass us. Let's think

(10:20):
about this, what can the Bengals do. They can't protect Dalton,
So when they can't protect Dalton, the Bengals look awful.
But with the Ravens unable to get after Dalton possibly
in this game, there's certain Ravens are averaging lesson two
sacks per game. I think the Bengals can hang within
the I think when you lay more than a touchdown
in a divisional game, you're you're at risk just by

(10:40):
virtue of that. And as you brought up earlier fast
and we were talking off air, Cincinnati has stepped up
against better competition. Close losses at Seattle at Buffalo. Got
to cover both games. I like Cincinnati not a little bit.
I like him a lot. Tomorrow, the aforementioned Cleveland Browns
hosting the Seattle Seahawks again, and refresh us on that line.

(11:01):
This line is pick and pick the winner. You've got
yourself a winning bets, all right. So one of the
things that sticks out to me was Monday night, Cleveland
visiting San Francisco. The Niners outgained them by over two yards.
By the way, they rushed for two seventy five yards
against Cleveland. The Browns one and eight against the number

(11:22):
excuse me, one, seven and one against the number, one
and eight straight up after consecutive road games, which they are.
I think Seattle will be able to run the ball
against him tomorrow. That's what they'll be looking to do. Yeah,
and this is the first of two games that kind
of a scheduling anamally here. I don't know what the
NFL was thinking, but they took both of the teams
that played on Thursday last week and put them up

(11:43):
against the two teams that played on Monday. So Seattle
has ten days to prepare. That's a big advantage against
the Cleveland team that had to play in Monday night football.
But I have to tell you, I think Seattle is
massively overrated there at four and one. And the narrative is,
oh Russell Wilson in primetime know all he does is
win those games. Well, the last time I checked, Bernie,
it wasn't Russell Wilson that was blocking Greg's airlines game

(12:06):
winning field goal. It just went wide right, And that
ultimately was the difference between Seattle being four and one
and being perceived suddenly to be a powerhouse versus being
three and two and being slotted into a possible wild
card team. So I think Seattle is overrated. I passed
on this game interesting because you brought up a good
point as well, having to do with the fact that

(12:27):
Cleveland's new defensive coordinator, Steve Wilkes, has had some success
against Russell Wilson in the past. Yes, the last year,
Russell Wilson only averaged five yards per pass against Arizona.
I think about that. Arizona's defense lousy last year, but
Russell Wilson was shut down effectively in the past game,
not once, but twice against Steve Wilson. He's gonna have
his work cut out for him, Steve Wilkes. I will

(12:49):
tell you defensive coordinators when it comes to Russell Wilson,
you have to prepare to game plans, your normal game
plan and then a game plan for when the play
breaks down and Wilson keep the play alive with his
feet and the next thing you know, the Seahawks are
in field goal range and you're in trouble. We've got
a ton of games to get to Houston, Kansas City,

(13:10):
New Orleans, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Minnesota, right on down the line.
So you want to keep it locked. And I want
to remind you that straight out of Vegas is brought

And this is the pregame show you always wanted, So
don't go away. You're listening to Straight out of Vegas.

(13:57):
We're back on Straight out of Vegas t pregames you
you always wanted. I'm Bernie Fratto coming to you live
from the Gecko Fox Sports Radio Studios. Yes, we are
your friends. And what does it mean when Gecko says
just fifteen minutes could save you fift or more on consurance?
I mean you probably should have gone to Geico dot
com fifteen minutes ago. Let's go to Kansas City, Fez.

(14:20):
They're hosting the Chiefs are hosting the visiting Houston Texans,
fresh off putting a fifty three burger. Current line four.
I believe the line is four. Caroline is Kansas City
miss four? Thank you? Not? Patrick mahomes awful loss. He's
at his best, only three and one, He's three and one.
Excuse me? Averaging over three yards per game after a loss,

(14:42):
thirteen touchdowns, two interceptions, and one fourteen QB rating. But
there's some conflicting data here, Fez. Deshaun Watson is eight
two and one against the spread as a dog in
his career four oh when he's facing a team coming
off a loss, and Fez, we've got to talk about
this Kansas City defense. Yeah, absolutely so the k C defense.

(15:04):
We saw Indie run all over them last week and
basically played takeaway, not letting Mahomes have the ball. But
I'm worried about the Kansas City injuries on their d line.
They've got three guys that are injured. And let's talk
about Houston on offense. How do you beat Houston? How
do you shut them down on offense? Well, Houston doesn't
block very well. So we saw that two weeks ago

(15:25):
when they lost to Carolina. They got sacked six times
and they could do nothing against the Atlanta Falcons. The
Falcons couldn't get any sacks and Houston hung fifty on them.
So if you can't get after Watson, you're in for
a long, long day. And I'm not confident that Kansas City,
with their injuries, is going to be able to do that.
And because of that, I think we're looking at a
shootout here, and uh, I think Houston probably can stay

(15:48):
within the number. And if Houston can keep Shaun watching
up right. You pointed this out last week prior to
the Atlanta game that was not Atlantis. You know Forte
their ability to get to the quarterback and you saw
what Watson did. And only do Kansas City of injuries
they've had d line injuries. They can afford it because
the defense had just alluded to Kansas Cities. They're allowing

(16:08):
three yards per game. That's good for in the NFL.
They're allowing teams to rush the ball a hundred and
fifty six yards per game. That's good for in the
National Football League. And oh, by the way, they're giving
up five point three yards per rushing attempt, good for
thirty one. Not a recipe to get to the Super Bowl, Yes,

(16:30):
but the experts will say it is certainly fine to
have a defense that bad when you have Patrick Mahomes,
the best quarterback in the league. And you could make
the case Kansas City's defense was had the same or
similar problems last year in Kansas City. All they did
was kept winning and covering, But I'm worried about the
Kansas City offense. We saw Moms had that ankle injured
week one, aggravated twice last week against Indianapolis. He starts

(16:53):
thirteen for seventeen hundred fifty yards early in the game,
and then he looks like a shell of himself by
the fourth quarter when got stepped on again and with
both his wide receivers Tyreek Kale and Watkins compromised and
maybe not playing all of a sudden, the defenses can
play a man to man defense against him. And because
of that, I don't know if Kansas City can get
the separation that they're gonna need. They're gonna have to

(17:14):
get high into the thirties probably to cover this game.
Struggle last week against the Colts gritty win for them,
and perhaps this was foreshadowed two weeks ago in Detroit
where the Chiefs escaped with the wind, but they did
look a little shaky. Jacksonville and the Gardner Minshew Show,
they're hosting New Orleans Latest Line. Latest Line Jacksonville Believe
or Not Burning is up to a minus three. They're

(17:36):
the favorite by three points. That's a big move. I
think it was minus one just a couple of days ago,
and it moved to three. Well, you know, Teddy Bridgewater,
what goes up must come down. He is been sensational
as a starter three and oh, completing of his passes
six touchdowns, two interceptions, been a great field leader. Um.

(17:59):
I will say this about the Saints defense juxtaposed against
someone like Kansas City much better. Right. In fact, the
Saints fezz They've held their last two opponents to season
low yards. Yeah, there's no question that the Saints defense
is playing out of their minds. Specifically, the Dallas game
comes to mind. But the wise guys do not like
Teddy Bridgewater. And I get it. He played a great

(18:20):
game against Tampa Bay, but prior to that, in Teddy's
four starts, he before that he had averaged less than
six points seven yards per attempt. So the NFL averages
seven and a half. So think about this. Bridgewater is
getting every time he passes the ball, he's getting one
yard less than the NFL average. And I know that
people are gonna say, well, all he's done is cover

(18:41):
all these games since he's gone ahead and taken over
for Breeze. But the wise guys don't like Bridgewater, and frankly,
they're looking at the schedule and they're saying, wait a minute,
the Saints are not going to go fourteen and two
with Teddy Bridgewater or until Drew Brees comes back. They
just played at the Rams, at Seattle, Dallas, then finally
Tampa Bay. They've had a stretch of really important games.

(19:04):
I can easily make the case this game against Jacksonville
at jackson was the throwaway game. It's the least important
of those five. I understand. Jalen Ramsey, Jacksonville's prize defensive back,
had a heart to heart talk with team owner Shad
con Went this past week. If he's on the field,
it could be key because there's one matchup that can
neutralize perhaps New Orleans is New orleans most prolific offensive

(19:28):
player Michael Thomas, leading the league in reception yards so far.
So Ramsey not being able to play. I don't think
he's gonna be able to play. I rap report reported
unlikely back issue. Yeah, that he is going to hell
at least that's what it is becoming. Like the three
students line. You got a week back? How long you
had it? Hop about a week back? I mean, look,
they're better with him on the field. But the bottom

(19:49):
line is irrespective of that, that's not going to change
your opinion in this game. That's right, And frankly, this
is the most important game for him to be there
because the Saints are so um with Kamara not a
it's critical that they can go ahead and get a
big game out of Michael Thomas. All right, we'll see
what happened when the Saints go marching in. We'll see
what I did there. Let's go to Minnesota. That Mike
zimmer guy twins. No, not the Twins, that are actually

(20:12):
the Vikings. That's a full pa in radio. All right,
the Minnesota Vikings laying three against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles,
a game I have great interest in for a lot
of reasons. But here goes at zimmer Guy again. Uh,
eighteen and two against the number, has a home favorite
versus non divisional teams. We all love Minnesota. Last week

(20:32):
they came through Big Land six in New York, got
to cover one by eighteen. There's another aspect of this game.
Eagles are only one or nine against the number in
their last ten when opponents rush for north of a
hundred and sixty yards here's the kicker. Dalvin Cook, by
the way, had over two hundred last week against New York.
The Vikings as a team are averaging a hundred and

(20:53):
sixty six rush yards per game. However, Comma, you point
out in your pregame notes here that Phil He's particularly
a depth defensively against Philly, stuffs the run. So because
of that, I don't think Dalvin Cook is gonna have
a big game. However, Digs and Thelen may well have
a big one. Certainly, we got to be very concerned

(21:13):
about Philly and that bad secondary that's also injured. But
I want to talk about one factor if I can
Kirk Cousins in this game, and I gotta do a
shout out to Jonas knocks the prince of darkness here,
Um jon who doesn't? So Jonas went went ahead and
identified and spoke with R. J. Bell about this. How
Kirk Cousins loves to plan his day in fifteen minute increments.

(21:36):
Think about that he's got his time he's gonna spend
with his wife, the time that he's gonna have, you know,
his his nutrient nutrition, et cetera. And historically, when Kirk
Cousins has a one PM eastern start time, the normal
start time in the NFL. He has done great. How well, well,
we had a research analyst here in uh the pregame offices.

(21:56):
Mackenzie go ahead and research this, and he came up
with sixty four percent covers. If you blindly bet Kirk
Cousins at a one o'clock eastern start time, covers almost
two thirds of the games. What happens if Cousins has
to play, be forced into out of his comfort zone
and play any other time, he covers less than one
third of the time. So I hate to like just

(22:18):
use one handicapping factor to talk about a certain game,
but this game is indeed in Kirk cousins comfort zone
that would favor the Vikings. All these injuries to Philly,
all the money has been on the Vikings. This line's
gone up from three to three and half. I think
it's keeps going up. I agree with the move alright,
very good. Appreciate the shout out to Mackenzie. And of course,

(22:39):
in the inimitable Jonas knocks, I love Jonas man. If
he could just get him to overcome the shyness, I
think he's gonna be just fine. One last thing, by
the way. Not for nothing. Philly offensively is still somewhat challenged.
I think Darren Sprawls is out, and the Seawan or
John Jackson excuse me, key is doubtful and the Vikings

(23:02):
are not slatches on defense either. That's a game I'm
interested that I will watch. But for the record, I
do like Minnesota in this contest comes more to get
to the windless Ta Bowl. Washington Miami forty Niners Rams
Atlanta Arizona and of course our best bets. Fazz has one,
I have one and Sleepy has one. But first let's

(23:25):
go to the man who's so tough he's guaranteed not
to break Ben Russbus bite the dust Kip Cracker piano.
That would be Brian Familey with Atlantists. Hey, what's going on, Bernie?
College football games going deep into the night? Just final
Washington throttles Arizona Fife Wildcats had coach Kevin Sumlan benching
quarterback Clear Tate in the second half. Tate underwhelmed, going

(23:46):

and eight carries for negative twenty eight yards. Fourteen rank
Boises Date conquers Hawaii seven Broncos acclaimed freshman quarterback Hank
back Meyer left the game him in the second quarter

(24:07):
Seventh rank Florida, their offense face plants in the fourth

a guy who always electrifies us, Bertie Fratto and the
Geico Fox Sports Studios. Thank you very much, Brian Sonic.
You got a little cold there, buddy, I do and
weathering through something. Just gotta power on. It's uh a
status is probable, not doubtful, and uh not a game
time decision. We are all going look at this guy.

(25:10):
You gotta love a guy who plays hurt. Fez. Yeah,
but you gotta lower his power rating by half of
I raised it by half a point, Fez. All right,
let's move on. All right, thanks Brian, Uh, Washington and Miami,
you can call it the Tank Bowl, the Tool Bowl,
whatever you wanna call it. I don't think they're gonna
allow kids under sixteen to watch this game. Currently, the
Red scames of three and a half point favorite in Miami,

(25:33):
where the weather she'd be hot, neither defense will be hot.
The thing that jumped at me the Dolphins allowing a
sparkling to four hundred and seventy two yards per game
per game. That's that's number one in the NFL in
terms of being bad, and the rat scam is not
much better. They allow four hundred eight yards per game.

(25:55):
That's the fifth most. What do you think, fist? Speaking
of lowering power getings. These are the two lowest rated
teams in the NFL. I have both these teams five
points of worse than what I had them to start
the year, and I gotta be honest, Bernie, I had
them pretty low to start the year. I had Miami
the last team in the NFL going into the year,

(26:15):
and Washington at number thirty. I think that what this
one comes down to, you can make the case it's
a good spot actually for both teams. Miami a winless
team off of a bye, They've been called out for
two weeks about how miserable they are by the media.
Maybe they bring an extra bounce to their step. And
obviously Washington fires Gruden and so now under an interim
head coach Callahan, maybe Washington it would be eager to

(26:38):
go ahead and have a good performance and show everyone
that maybe part of this was Gruden and what he
was doing this year why they've been struggling so much.
But I really think what it comes down to is
that Miami. I think going into the year, we heard
talk about they were planning for the future. No one
wants to use the word tanking, but um that winning
wasn't necessarily a priority. You didn't hear any of that

(27:00):
from the Washington Redskins, And because of that, all things
being equal, I would look towards the team that I
think I'm more confident is going to bring their absolute
a game. Money is coming in on the Redskins as
we speak. It just went up to Washington, probably not
for nothing. Case Keenan will start, He's got experience. I'm
with you, I want nothing to do with this game.

(27:21):
I think you can summarize these teams seasons thus far.
They both have started slow and then they've faded. Let's
move on. San Francisco visits Los Angeles the Los Angeles Rams. Uh,
this is a line currently hovering around three. I believe
the Rams are laying three. Interesting because you've sort of

(27:44):
characterized this game. Faz is a is a bad situational
spot for one of the teams. I don't want to
you know, I don't want to steal your thunder. I
would just say this, the forty nine five straight up
against the spread following a Monday night game. But the
Rams have no Todd Gurley. But but the Niners have
injuries gloy in perhaps the most important part of football. Yes,

(28:08):
there's a whole lot to address here, Gurley, he's probably
not gonna play and he's gonna be out, and guess what,
Vegas doesn't care. So when Burly gets got reported as
being questionable and then doubtful and then out, the markets
did not move at all on that news, and the
reason being his girl. He's not catching any passes pretty
much when he does catching me. He caught three passes

(28:28):
for six yards last week and he's averaging four point
two yards b rush last week in his game, and
his replacement, Malcolm Brown four point four. So Malcolm Brown
has been doing every bit as good as Girly has. Now,
what my concern is with the forty Niners. We talked
about the scheduling spot. Now the Rams have had ten
days to prepare and San Francisco just played Monday night,

(28:50):
bad scheduling spot for the Forts, but because they played
a perfect game against Cleveland, they look so good the
markets have gone ahead and bumped Up and Francisco so
much in their ratings that these two teams basically are
perceived to be roughly equal, with the Rams only laying
three points. But the forty Niners they run the ball
almost the time and their fullback who's really important is

(29:14):
out for this game, and three their best three tackles
on the offensive line are out for the forty Niners
as well. Because of this, I don't think that this
line is being adjusted enough for these guys that individually
maybe wouldn't have moved the needle very much. But with
all four of these guys out, I think you've got
to really worry about the rushing game for San Francisco
this game. All right, Let's move on to Arizona where

(29:36):
Carler Murray and company. They're hosting the Atlanta Falcons. Uh
again a game. By the way, I showed the line.
The latest line the Falcons minus two. There are a
short road favorite after giving up fifty three last week
to Shawn Watson. Carla Murray seems to have settled in
a little bit. Neither one of these teams I think

(29:57):
are looking to the postseason. What are your thoughts on this? Yeah,
I think that's a safe bet that we're not got
do not nonplayoff team. I like to go on a
limb every now and there. There there you go. I
think you know Kyler Murray, I liked what I saw
in the jungle against the Bengals. He ran for almost
a hundred yards, and in the four games prior to that,
Murray had just a little over a hundred yards. So
think about that. In one game he got close to

(30:19):
as many yards as he had gotten in four games.
And I think for Kyler Murray to run that air
raid offense and be effective, I want to see him
running the ball more. Because of that, I would lean
towards the Arizona Cardinals. All right, that may be the
best bet. Uh, stay tuned. Our best bets coming up. Oh,
in about twelve fourteen minutes something like that. Let's squeeze

(30:42):
one more in fast Dallas Links seven and a half
after New York Jets a couple of things, Sam Donald returns.
And historically with Sam Donald, the Jets average twenty one
points a game, about three hundred yards per game. Without
saying Donald, they're not only owing six the average eleven
points per game, about ninety yards less. But let's look
at the other quarterback in this game. Taylor. Of two

(31:04):
seasons so far, the first three for Dak Prescott, he
was three and on, completing his passes nine touchdowns, two interceptions,
a QBR. Of last two games Fez Dak Prescott old
and two only completing his passes two touchdowns, four interceptions.
His QBR seventy nine point two is just a get

(31:27):
right game for the Cowboys. You know, I'm worried it
might be actually a problem game for the Cowboys if
you look at the old line, uh Tyrone Smith and
Leo Collins. Jerry Jones is optimistic both will return. But
if you've got to compromised lineman for Dallas, that's an issue.
I can tell you this. The better is absolutely hated Falk.
He was the pretty much everyone's lowest rated quarterback that

(31:49):
was starting. And how about that. You go from starting
for a couple of weeks and then the Jets one
ahead and released him, and um, anyone who saw the
Jets play the last two weeks knows they could generate
no offense. Now, I'm not sure that Arnold is a
hundred percent coming off of Mono, but I'll tell you this,
the market's really like the bounce the Jets are gonna
get from him. The spread just dropped down from seven
half it's down to seven money coming in on the Jets.

(32:11):
I believe the Jets was one of Colin Cowards plays
as well, and he's been hot, hot, hot with his
blazing five. All right, we've still got to get to
Tennessee Denver Steelers. Chargers. We've got best bets and some
closing thoughts as well. I'm Bernie Fratto. We're coming to

Appreciate all that you guys do. This is not a

(33:37):
show we put together at the last minute. I'll start
preparing for next week's show tonight when I get home.
And couldn't do without you guys. Thanks so much. Denver
hosting Tennessee Fez laying two and a half, Broncos laying
two and a half down to two. See we want
to give you the latest year. You feel the Broncos
are a little undervalued here, Well, I think that the

(33:57):
Broncos are in a really good spot here. And why
do I think that Because Denver has somehow managed to
lose both of their home games in spectacular disastrous fashion.
If you watch their loss against the Bears, that was
just gut wrenching. Letting Mitch true Bisky drive on you
on the in the final seconds, committing a horrible penalty
and blowing that game, and then the stash Jacksonville goes

(34:20):
the distance against you as well in the fourth quarter
that you could make the case certainly Denver should have
won both of those games, and they lost both of them. Bernie,
so I would expect it's a good spot for Denver
to get their first home win. However, I think Tennessee
is a little undervalued. Also, I like that Mariota looks
add percent healthy to me when I do the eye

(34:40):
test when I watch him playing. And you could question, well,
how come Tennessee only got seven points last week? Well,
they played the really good Buffalo defense and their kicker
missed four four field goals and that was a big
part about them losing. And characteristic about the Tennessee Titans
and all five of their games, the underdog has one

(35:00):
straight up Tennessee's and the dog to mile. Couple that
with the fact that Denver is a horrible three twelve
and one against the number as chalk in their last
sixteen games. I don't know that I wanted anything to
do with this game. Feast, this is one, uh, I
think you have a strong opinion one the Los Angeles Chargers.
This will be the Sunday night game UM National TV game,

(35:24):
the only standalone game Steelers visit town. Chargers laying six
and a half. That's still the current number. Money is
coming on the Steelers. Current number Pittsburgh plus six. Wow. Okay,
so you've got this Mike ship home, Mike shift home.
Excuse me that the Chargers playing, they can sue for
lack of support. But here's the real storyline in my

(35:45):
humble opinion, America, meet Devlin Hodges, the quarterback who came
off the bench last week. Didn't look bad. He's not
from Stanford, He's not from Stanford and Son. He's from
Samford in Alabama. But he was terrific there and he
won the FBS version of the Heisman Trophy. Meanwhile, the

(36:05):
Chargers a paltry three and seventeen at home against the
spread in their fourth home game in the last five.
I tell you it, Faz the Chargers. You said something
pregame that really stuck in my mind as to how
the wise guys look at the Chargers just in a
blanket sense. Yes, so the wise guys have targeted one
team in the NFL and one team only to bet

(36:27):
against each and every week of the NFL season. And
a big part of it has been all of the
injuries to the Chargers, and they're ever growing injury report.
So if you go back throughout all the weeks. I
won't list all the games, but as an example, the
Chargers Week two when they were playing your Detroit Lions, Bernie,
the Chargers were laying three and a half and open
that game closed pick them. So you've seen just a

(36:50):
tremendous amount of money coming against the Chargers happening again
this week, and why not because the Chargers injury report
grows ever longer right now. If you look at their
offensive line, their very best linement has been out for months.
Russell o'con their number two linemen. Their center Pouncy is
now out as well, and frankly, this was a bad
Charger old line to start the season. Even with these

(37:12):
two guys, with their two best linemen out, I expect
money is going to keep coming in on Pittsburgh and
I agree with it. The Chargers are maddening if you
backed them, and just quickly referencing that Detroit Lions game,
the Chargers had two touchdowns called back on the same
drive and then fumble on the goal line game they
absolutely should have won six ways from Tuesday, and even

(37:33):
with the Austin Ekeler fumble on the goal on while
you're reaching the ball across the goal line on first down.
I don't know. Still, Philip Rivers was in position to
go ahead and lead the Chargers to the victory, and
he blew it in the zone and they would have
gotten certainly gotten a field goal which would have won
the game. All right, Before we get the best bets,
and I'll say, let's do this, Let's give Sleepy's best bet.

(37:54):
He's been solid over the months that we've been doing
this Sturday show. Actually there's our thirteen month now. Sleeping
likes the home Arizona Cardinals to cover against the Atlanta
Falcons in the latest line, I believe Falcons minus two. Yeah,
so he's got Arizona plus the two fast. Before we
get to your best bet, I want to broach a
subject tonight that I think is important. It's what we

(38:15):
call the buy low sell high concept and betting. And
what we mean by that is often a team will
win one week and look really good, and so their
their stock is sort of high, and you want to
look to sell them the following week because they may
be overvalued. Conversely, a team might look not so good
one week in the NFL, but the following week you

(38:37):
might want to buy them low. Because there'll be a
bit undervalued. Just quick case. In point two weeks ago
to Tampa Bay Buccaneers put up fifty five points on
the road against the Rams. The following week they had
to New Orleans, second straight road game, they were only
catching three. Seem like they were a little overvalued. But

(39:01):
and a lot of folks that I respect really like
the books, but not so much. They got smoked by
the Saints, absolutely, and I think there's a good lesson there,
And that's actually gonna be a theme here with my
upcoming best bet Alight. All Right, I'm gonna sell the
San Francisco forty Niners, who I feel the valuation has
just gotten too high on. When we last saw the
forty Niners, they are playing a perfect game against the

(39:23):
Cleveland Browns at home. But frankly, they were in a
great spot, the forty Niners were, and they absolutely destroyed
Baker Mayfield. We saw Boston Company take out Cleveland, And
because of that, now the betting public loves the forty Niners,
and the betting public is ignoring the fact that the
forty Niners this week have some major injury issues that
are going to compromise the running game. Including their fullback

(39:45):
and their top three tackles being out. Because of that,
the Rams, who are off of two losses, we're gonna
buy them a little bit low. The Rams. A week
ago you could have bet this game. You would have
had to lay five and a half. Now the Rams
are cheap. You only have to lay three. The Rams
miles three is my best bet alright, so physics best
bet the Rams minus three hosting the San Francisco forty Niners.

(40:06):
Sleepy's best bet the Arizona Cardinals plus two at home
against Atlanta. My best bet. We talked about this game
quite a bit earlier. Cincinnati visits Baltimore. They're catching eleven
and a half points or eleven points. I like the
Bengals here. Main reason Baltimore only three seven and one
against his spread as a division host after playing Pittsburgh

(40:30):
stands to reason. Physical emotional game at Pittsburgh last week.
Baltimore comes away with the victory. They come home. Cincinnati's
played well on the road. Close losses at Seattle is
a ten point dog. Close loss at Buffalo has a
seven point dog. I like Cincinnati plus the eleven. All right,
that's gonna do it for this week's edition of Straight

(40:50):
Out of AGAs, I'm Bernie Fradder. He's Steve Fessik. Next up,
the Man from Nashville. It's Jason Martin and The Jason
Martin Show.
