Speaker 2 (02:24):
Let's just have some fun today. That is the goal
of the day, as we're just going to have the
best day ever. That's kind of like my weekend motto.
And you know who's having a great time?

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Who's having a m best day ever? Every day? Dion Sanders,
do you think.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
He's ever not gonna have a great time?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
No, that's not his brand, that's not who he is.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Like the coach Prime effect has taken over the sports world.
There's not a better story in college football right now,
maybe not in the sports world right now. And honestly,
I don't know how anybody can doubt this man anymore.
His entire career has been proving people wrong. From being
one of the best two athletes we've ever seen, Like

(03:02):
don't forget he's not only a two time Super Bowl champ,
but he was also a really good Major League baseball player,
right and during the nineteen eighty nine season, he hit
a home run and scored a touchdown in the NFL
in the same week, becoming the only player to do that.
That's just a stupid ever played both in a Super
Bowl and a World Series. Like, I think we forget that.

(03:23):
This is just kind of who he's always been. Yes,
I proving people wrong. And now in his first season
with Colorado, he has completely turned that program around.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It's only the fourth game of the season.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
He has officially sold out every home game for the
first time in program history.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
No, that's nuts, that's infante.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Remember last year Colorado went one and eleven.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
They haven't won more than five games in a season
since twenty sixteen. He took this roster deon Sanders eighty
six new players, completely flipped it, which could have gone
a lot of different directions with that many.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
New faces, new coaches. Ever, like a new.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
System, completely new team, and everybody on that team is
drinking the coach prime Drew. I think the whole world
is drinking the coach prime juice. I imagine right now,
most high school and college players have Colorado now at
the top of their destination, probably because of Dion. They
trust him, they believe him. I hear him talk, I

(04:19):
trust him. I believe him.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Also, last weekend the whole Like sunglass ordeal, he sold
over four million dollars in a weekend of his Coach
Prime blender sunglasses.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
That is insane. The sports world is watching, they.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Are watching, and with that, listen, I right now, I
am a fan of Coach Prime. But let's look at
the other side of the coin for a hot second.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Okay, how long are people?

Speaker 6 (04:48):
Maybe other schools, because right now I don't think he
has any haters, but that can change any second, out
of jealousy, out of I.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Think that's probably a He's got a lot of doubters haters,
but it comes with the territory for sure.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
But everyone's positively talking about what he's doing, and we
should be because he's forced that right. But at honestly,
you flip your fingers and all of a sudden people
can start. He could start rubbing people the wrong way
because of how confident he is. Kind of like Lebron James.
A lot of people hate Lebron.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Everyone thinks he's super into himself, and he is, but
he doesn't bother me. I think Lebron's fine. He doesn't
bother me. Yet he bothers a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
These people don't like happiness, people don't like confidence. When
you saw they both, I think Lebron like quote tweeted
Prime this week saying like, oh yeah, like I smile
at people who hate me all the time, all the time,
and I see it, you see it daily. But that's
because a lot of people don't understand happiness. If you're
not a happy person, if you're not a confident person,
if you're not someone who likes to go out and
prove people wrong, you have a hard time when you

(05:51):
see other people kind of succeed in that space. And
let me just like I want people to understand, Like
how big of a moment is right now? I mean
Colorado's at Oregon right now, they're down zero to seven,
Like this is his first big test, right?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I agree?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
But last week's game against Colorado State was the most
watched late night college football game ever on the other
network on ESPN.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Thank you coach Norville for his comments, I mean, think
about it was.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
The most streamed regular season college football game of all
time for that network, fifth most watched regular season college
football game ever. People on the East Coast were glued
to their TVs at two in the morning, which was
Colorado Colorado State game. Like the rise of coach Prime,
this is an insane meteoric rise of what he's doing

(06:42):
right now. And I don't think anybody except Dion Sanders
and his program knew and.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Thought that this was going to happen.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I agree with that as well, and we're seeing it
just kind of unfold in front of our eyes right now.
He knew it, he believed it, and we're now we're
all getting a front row seat to see it go
down right now. And as I mentioned, like this is
the big test. You got two big weekends in a row.
Currently playing Oregon down down by seven, and then next

(07:11):
weekend facing Caleb Williams and USC, a great team with
a great coach at home. We're really gonna see what
Colorado is capable of. I want you today and latter week.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
And I'm just saying I feel that if they continue
this success, yeah, there's gonna be some haters that are
going to be coming around just because of nobody believed
this was gonna happen. And You're right, everyone and their
mom is into this. Both of my brothers who are
not into college football were like, I heard you.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
And Alex and I watched the game. Both of them
told me separately, I stayed up to watch this game.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
I had no idea what anything about coach Prime until
listening to you and Alex talk about it.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
People are just tuning in because it's like, wait, what
is this? What is everyone talking about?

Speaker 6 (07:49):
I just have a feeling that this isn't gonna last
so positively for as long as maybe he's thinking.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
I mean, he's captivating, he is so captivating. I believe
it will. I mean, I don't think they're going to
go undefeated throughout the reason. No, but there will be,
whether it's this weekend or next weekend, big hurdles to
get over. But I enjoy positive, motivational stories like this,

(08:18):
and Dean understands that this is all entertainment, right. He
has done a great job of providing the public with
content on a daily basis. He's had a couple different
viral videos this week. I think one of the biggest
ones was when he was saying his son, shod Or
Sanders is staying in college for another year, not entering

(08:42):
the draft. Let's play that sound first before we go
into it.

Speaker 7 (08:45):
It's not about what I'm seeing from them. It's about
a whole lot of other things. Teams, position, round, projection,
all of that plays a role because now with nil
and who they are, shoot, you make just as much
money here as you get in there, unless you, uh,

(09:09):
you know, one of the first five picks.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
But Shadoy don't want to be two to nobody. He
don't get down like that.

Speaker 8 (09:15):
So you know, people projecting him behind you know, Caleb
Willias and Caleb Williams is phenomenal, but Shado I ain't
no back seat ride or he ain't you know, he
drives Mayball.

Speaker 7 (09:25):
He don't have a drive, he drives it.

Speaker 6 (09:28):
So when I heard this the first time, uh huh,
I thought, okay, so what if by the end of
the season it is consensus that Shador would go number one?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Is he going to go to the draft then possibly?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
I definitely think this is going to be a conversation
that needs to resurface at the end of the season,
right right, because ultimately this has got to.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Be Shador's decision.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Of course, yeah, you would think so right where.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
He wants to go, but he is playing for his dad.
As Dione mentioned, it's a completely different ballgame now with
the nil and how much money, because these athletes can
make in college.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
But the other positive thing.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
About not going number one overall, you're most likely going
to end up on a better team in the NFL.
So that's also something to consider and to think about.
And then there's so many other factors that come in.
What if you get injured or if you stay in college
another year, then you might not get that same opportunity
to be a top five draft pick. Also interesting that
this conversation comes out a week and a half before

(10:28):
they're playing USC and you're gonna get Shator against Caleb Williams,
which is going to be an epic show, epic showdown.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yeah, so I.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
I just thought, yeah, it was like just early to
say that. It was just early to say that.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
But also like we heard.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Caleb Williams dad come out, oh yeah yeah after week
one saying he might not enter the draft either. So
both of these dads talking for their kids. Is like, Okay,
Deanna understand obviously, Moreau he is his coach, and he
was a Super Bowl champion all of the player, he
has the credibility to be able to do that. But

(11:09):
I have a weird issue with parents talking for their
kids who are athletes, not even kids adults when they
are over the age of eighteen, Like, at that point,
it's their decision if they want to go, like, you
gotta let them go.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Also, it's the National Football League. You're not going to go.
Why wouldn't you enter the draft for the National Football
League if you.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Can, if you can, if you can, why would you
let that opportunity slip? Because you just don't know what
the future holds.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
No, and it's not about going number two to someone.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
It's ending up in the best situation on the best
team possible.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
And like I said.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Before, usually the like how the whole system works, the
number one draft pick doesn't go to the best team
in the NFL. So if you drop down a couple,
you're more likely going to a better organization, which is
going to be better for you in the long run.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
But see, and because of comments like this, this is
what I'm saying, he's got he's possibly gonna start rubbing
people the wrong way.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
No, again, he understands, he understands what he's doing. He
knows the entertainment side of things.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Exactly, total entertainment. I guess you know. I'm really hoping,
because we're gonna talk.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
About the advice that he gives his you know, his team.
I hope he's given them the advice of like, let
me be the crazy one, let me be the one
saying all of these things. Yeah, putting on the show.
Don't give AMMO to anyone to talk about you guys,
let them talk about me. I hope he has said
that to them.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I mean, we're going to dive into We're gonna save
a couple of these because we got to take a
break here. We're talking to FS ones, Emmanuel Acho joining
the show. In just a moment, We're gonna keep talking
Dion and the college football world, everything going on there
in just a moment. And then after him, there's a
couple more there's a couple more points I want to

(12:57):
get to about Dion and what kind of came out
this week, talking to his team, talking to the fans,
everything going on.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
So, yeah, we're gonna take a quick break here when
we come back.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
The host of Speak on FS one, Emmanuel Auto, joining

Speaker 11 (14:06):
Boom Stamp give it up, Plentyton touchdown Oregon, Noel Luddington
little hesitation at the line and then.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
Found it that was Jerry Learfield or Jerry Allen from
Learfield And it's true. Oregon is currently beating Colorado thirteen zero.
They just ended the first quarter. Bo Nix has thrown
for seventy nine yards and a touchdown for Oregon.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry alongside
Moncy Bilanos. We are broadcasting live from the tyrack dot
Com studios in Los Angeles, and you guys, we are
joined now by one of the brightest minds and captivating
voices on TV. He's the host of Speak on FS
one and he's currently hosting College Football Saturday on Fox

(14:51):
all day today. Please welcome my friend Emmanuel at show
is with us?

Speaker 12 (14:56):
What is up? How are we?

Speaker 1 (14:58):
How are we?

Speaker 13 (14:59):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (15:00):
So good?

Speaker 2 (15:00):
So much better now that you're with us, atcho. But
what a fun and crazy day has already been in
college football. Let's start with the man of the season,
Dion Sanders, not only taking over the college football conversation,
but he's been the hottest topic in sports right now. Unfortunately,
Kareen getting currently getting lit up a little bit by Oregon.
But what has been your biggest takeaway from what he's

(15:21):
done so far this year?

Speaker 12 (15:23):
He's overachieved thus far, he is overachieved. I believe Colorado
was only supposed to win like two games this year
per odds of Vegas. He's already won three. Last year
they only won one game, and he's already won three
starting off the season extremely hot. Now it's about to
get real. Yeah, they're in conference play. They're at Austin
Stadium in Eugene. First drive, Oregon ten plays seventy two

(15:46):
yards touchdown. Second drive Oregon twelve plays fifty four yards touchdown,
first drive for Colorado three and out. Second drive for
Colorado stalls hunt. So right now, Colorado's taste their own blood.
We'll see how much they like it and if they
can fight back.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
So with that being said, what are the realistic expectations
for Colorado now now that they're kind of in that
kind of ramp up, challenging part of the season.

Speaker 12 (16:13):
Truth be total will tell you in thirty six minutes.
You know, this game will set their expectations. If they
can beat Oregon, expectations or Packed twelve championship, potentially National championship.
If they can hang tight with Oregon, expectations are Packed
twelve Championship. If they get blown out by Oregon, expectations
are now Bowl game. So this game is really a

(16:36):
litmus test for where we should put Colorado. Colorado beat
Colorado State, Congratulations, Colorado State not a good football team.
Colorado beat Nebraska, Congratulations. The quarterback for Nebraska at the
time has been benched. Colorado beat TCU. Now that is
looking like it's ay better win. TCU has won three
games straight. But now it's getting real. We'll see just

(16:57):
how good Colorado is. In thirty six minutes.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday with Alex Curry and
Moncy Belanyas and we're talking to a Manuel at show
hosts of FS one speak, Manuel, such a pleasure you
always looking.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
So fly on speak.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
I don't know who dresses better you are Steve Harvey.
It is a very close one, but I'm into it. Listen,
Alabama for the first time in years not in the
top ten?

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Should they panic or should they be patient?

Speaker 12 (17:24):
Panic?

Speaker 14 (17:25):
Panic?

Speaker 11 (17:26):
Panic?

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Panic?

Speaker 12 (17:26):
Yeah, you got a panic, I said, when again. I'm
a Texas fan. I graduated from Texas. I saw Texas
go into Alabama and beat Alabama for the first time
in Alabama, I believe in twenty three games or something
like that. If I'm not mistaken, Alabama doesn't have a
quarterback college football. It is one in loss based upon quarterbacks.
Think about the teams in the championship games in the

(17:48):
playoffs last year, Loan CJ. Stroud first round pick Max
Duggan second in the Heisman Trophy campaign. When you think
about the college football playoffs, it's about the quarterback. In Alabama,
they've played three quarterbacks this season. You all realize there
are currently four NFL starters that are the last four
starters for Alabama. Jalen Hurts to a tongue of Ioloa,

(18:11):
Mac Jones amongst Bryce Young. So Alabama's used to having
quarterbacks and Monci they don't have a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Yeah, yeah, now that's rough.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Do you see them turning it around this season?

Speaker 12 (18:25):
Not this season? You can't because it's like you can't
create a quarterback out of thin air. I believe Jalen
Milroe will be their guy, and I believe he will
get better. We saw Jalen Hurts to the freshman at
Alabama get better, but they can't get better enough to compete.
I mean, compete for national championships obviously, is what we're

(18:45):
talking about. Again. You win and lose by quarterbacks. Look
at Clemson. Clemson lost a tough one to day to
Florida State. I suggest they lost that game because they
were about to go close the game out and their
quarterback Cape Club knit he didn't see a blitzer. He fumbles,
and that's a ten point swing or a fourteen point swing.
Clemson hasn't had a quarterback since Trevor Lawrence and now

(19:08):
you're seeing them be unerranked for the first time and
god knows how long. So if you ain't got a quarterback,
you ain't got nothing.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Well, let's talk about your team, Texas, because their rolling.
You mentioned they had that huge win over Alabama. Do
you think they're in the conversation for a real title
run this year?

Speaker 12 (19:25):
Yeah, they are, They are, absolutely because not only do
they have a quarterback, but they got guys. Yeah, they
got guys. They got a quarterback in Quinn Ewers. Many
don't realize quinn Ewers didn't go to his senior year
of high school because he went to college early. He
went to Ohio State. Problem was, Ohio State had a
guy by the name of Justin Fields and then CJ. Stroud.
So Quinn youw Weers transferred from Ohio State to Texas.

(19:49):
They got a quarterback, they got to Tavian Sanders, a
tight end. But most importantly, Steve Sarkejian, the head coach
at Texas, he knows if they don't win ten games
this year, he will not be there next here. The
Texas coaches that I've talked to, they have told me personally,
we have to win ten or we know we're fired.
So I think Texas will get it done.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
All right.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
We got a big matchup tonight, Notre Dame taken on
Ohio State. Ohio State has won five straight against Notre Dame,
looking to make a six tonight.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Is this Notre Dame team good enough to break this streak?

Speaker 12 (20:21):
One thousand percent? I will give you all two numbers, yes,
fourteen thousand and fourteen hundred. The quarterback for Notre Dame
Sam Hartman. He has fourteen thousand career passing yards. The
quarterback Kyle McCord of Ohio State has fourteen hundred career
passing yards. Sam Hartman has one hundred and twenty three
career passing touchdowns. Kyle McCord has nine career passing touchdowns.

(20:45):
If this game is going to come down to a
fourth down conversion, a third down conversion, and overtime stop,
I trust the twenty four year old Sam Hartman over
the twenty one year old Kyle McCord. I think Notre
Dame gets it done. Also have to remember Notre Dame
head coach as a former Ohio State linebacker. He knows
about defense and he knows about Ohio State. I think

(21:07):
Notre Dame gets it done.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
It's Fox Sports Saturday with Alex Curry and Monsey Belanios,
and we're talking to Himmanuel Aucho, host of FS one speak,
all right, I'm gonna shift you over to the NFL
because I am seeing Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers jelling really well, what do you see? You think
this is just the beginning and they're oh, you know,

(21:30):
they're playing a game that nobody else has seen. But
they're gonna come down to earth in a second. Or
does Baker Mayfield actually fit in there pretty well?

Speaker 12 (21:40):
I think Baker Mayfield fits there perfectly. But remember, Baker
Mayfield is best when he is doubted. Baker Mayfield does
not play well when he is on top. Baker Mayfield
is out of Austin, Texas. He was a walk on
at Texas Tech. He won the starting job. Then Baker
Mayfield transfers to Oklahoma, where he was not supposed to
be the starter. He beats South the starting quarter back.

(22:00):
He wins the Heisman. Then Baker Mayfield goes to a
Cleveland Browns team that was one in thirty one the
previous two years. There, Baker Mayfield is doubted once again.
He wins a playoff game for the Cleveland Browns, first
playoff game win since nineteen ninety four, first playoff game
appearing since two thousand and two. Then he goes to
Tampa to replace the greatest quarterback of all time in
Tom Brady, and he has the Bucks at two to zero.

(22:22):
Baker Mayfield is the opposite of a front runner. He
is best when he is doubted. That is when he
puts the team on his back. So I believe in
these Tampa Bay Bucks. I believe in Baker Mayfield, and
I think they have just as good a shot of
winning the NFC South as anybody.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Now, speaking of doubt, there was a lot of question
marks surrounding Tua coming into this season, Atcho, but Tua
and the Dolphins have just been clicking on all cylinders
to start this season. They got the Broncos at home
this week. What do you what are you expecting to
see from this game? We're going to see the Broncos
turn things around or see the Dolphins just continue to

(22:58):
keep rolling.

Speaker 12 (23:00):
Dolphins' role, Dolphins' role. I think that. I think Russell
Wilson will probably play well. I hope he plays well.
The Broncos will go to zero to three. As my
best guess, I think this is a Dolphins year. Now,
when you say Dolphins year, what does that mean?

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Right?

Speaker 12 (23:15):
I think this is the year that the Dolphins win
a playoff game. I think this is the year that
the Dolphins make considerable noise too. Will be an MVP
finalist if he does not win the MVP. And unfortunately
for the Broncos, they they just chose a bad time
to be bad. That's not the best way to put it, right.

(23:36):
You chose a bad time to be bad. I mean
you're facing a Dolphins team that you probably weren't gonna
beat if everything was going right. Russell Wilson, he can
play great. But if they lose, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I got one more for you, Atcho.

Speaker 6 (23:49):
If you are the Jets, if you are the coach
of the Jets, what do you do? Do you just say,
all right, guys, this is going to be a season
we learned from or do you make moves? What Zach
Wilson out there looks lost, looks confused.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
What do you do?

Speaker 12 (24:08):
I put as much confidence in Zach Wilson as possible
and see what happens. It's kind of like if you
get into a relationship thinking it will end, it will
probably end. You get into a relationship hoping that it lasts,
it will probably last. Do you look at your partner
every time they make a mistake and say, yeah, that's
who they are, or do you look at him when
they make a mistake and say, oh, I'm surprised they
made that mistake. That's how the Jets have to look

(24:30):
at Zach Wilson. You have to look at him and
see the best. What I mean is wooda heck is
going to give you a chance to have beaten the
Cowboys last week. Now you got to play the Patriots.
The Patriots made Jalen Hurts look normal. They made to
a tongue of Biloa look human. What the heck you
think they gonna do to Zach Wilson? Then you got
to play the Chiefs. What you think is going to happen?

(24:50):
You got to play the Broncos, who at least have
a competent defense. So if I look at it. I
would go full steam ahead with Zach Wilson. And let's
be honest, this vaunted defense that the Jets supposedly have,
we need to see it. First drive of the game
against the Cowboys, twelve plays, seventy five yards, Cowboys go
down the field, touchdown. I believe it was the fifth

(25:12):
drive of the game fourteen plays, seventy yards, Cowboys march
down the field, field goal. If the Jets defense is
that good, play like it.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
I'm with you, cho, Thank you so much for joining us.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Taking a little mini break, and you're crazy what thirteen
hour college football work day toy?

Speaker 1 (25:29):
I bet you yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
Know, of course.

Speaker 12 (25:32):
My friends y'all keep crushing it.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Thank you too. I was a Manuaco. He's the best, honestly. Yeah, no,
he's he's he's so great.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Any dress level, amazingly every time.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
Shout out to the Fox Sports wardrobe department. They love
Victoria and the crew. But now let's check in with
Martin Wise and see what's trending.

Speaker 15 (25:57):
Got three matchups of top twenty five teams going on
right now. Number ten Oregon up thirteen to nothing early.
Actually looks like that might be up nineteen nothing early
if that's a touchdown. That just happened early in the
second quarter on Colorado on Coach Prime. Oregon had a
failed two point conversion after the second touchdown and faked
the punt. That is a touchdown. So it's nineteen to
nothing early on here. Travis Hunter out of this game.

(26:17):
But it seems like Oregon is trying to send the messages.
They go for two on the back to back touchdowns.
They're not chasing points. They did this already once. Yep,
that'll do it. Twenty one to nothing right now, early
in the second quarter. Number eleventh ranked Utah. They're also
up early seven and nothing against twenty two UCLA Brewing
freshman quarterback Donte Morris throwing the interception of fumbled already
in that matchup. Number thirteen ranked Alabama. Goodness, gracious, I

(26:42):
can't believe they're kicking the field goal here. They're down
seven to three with this field goal pending. They just
blocked a punt against Ole Miss. Now seven to six.
They blocked a punt, had the ball first in goal,
snap goes over Jalen milros Head on first down.

Speaker 10 (26:55):
They had the ball in the sec the seven yard line.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
The agent of the field.

Speaker 15 (26:59):
Goal here is ugly seven and six right now midway
through the second quarter. Number twenty Miami fourteen nothing lead
over Temple midway through the second and number twenty three
Tennessee fourteen nothing lead over Utsa.

Speaker 10 (27:09):
That's midway through the first quarter.

Speaker 15 (27:11):
Miami Dolphins ar receiver Jaylen Waddle in concussion Protocol rule
DELP for Sunday's game. Jamal Williams new one on Sants
running back on Ir for that hamstring injury he suffered
Monday night. He'll miss at least the next four Houston
Texans left tackle Learmi Tounsel ruled out for Sunday's Division
game in Jacksonville, and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow questionable for
Monday's game against the Rams. I'm Martin Weiss, Monty and

(27:34):
Alex back to you.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Thank you, Martin, welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday and
Malex s Curty here with Monty Bilanios.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
We are broadcasting live from the.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Tyrock dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and I know
we've been spending a good amount of time on a
coach Prime.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
We started the show. Talk to Acho about it.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
The movement, like you said, it is you know, okay,
all right, all right, we're getting Do we have an
Oregon fan here as it's okay, like we're getting the
duck sounds happening. Yeah, he's getting lit up right now. Okay,
this is the first, big, big test. But I had
mentioned there were a couple like viral videos that he
he kind of put out this week, and there were

(28:13):
two other ones that we didn't get to talk about
in that first block that I just want to shine
a light on that I thought was really awesome and
really hilarious. The first one was there was a video
showing Deon Sanders having all of his women's staff members
that are part of the Colorado football team staff line

(28:34):
them all up, and he was speaking to the entire
team in this video and goes, you're going to respect
every single one of these women working here, call them
by their name, their title, whatever they want you to do.
And I not only want you to respect these women,
you need to respect all the women in your life.
And if I hear anything any kind of assumption or

(28:58):
whispers of a abuse, don't try to call me.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Don't call anybody here. That's it. You're out.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
The only thing I won't condone is disrespecting women, women
on our staff, women in your life. And again, besides football,
he does a great job of building these men men, yeah,
to be good men, which I love.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Yeah, because you.

Speaker 6 (29:21):
Know you could say that that goes obviously, that goes
without saying that you should respect women.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
But how many coaches actually have that conversation.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
We don't know.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
They know they could, right, But again, this is why
I'm saying, he understands the entertainment side of everything, for
content side of things, like, hey, we're doing we're trying
to do good work on the field today. Obviously really tough,
really tough start for Colorado at Oregon, but you're seeing
that he's building character, right, which I love. And then

(29:53):
there was a final, another really funny video he put
out requesting to find his mom some friends. Sister's getting
annoyed with his mom, so she needs some friends, someone
not too old, because they need to keep up. She
loves going to the casino and having dinner. So I
just again to kind of put a bow on our
whole coach prime conversation that we had earlier.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
And then these he just he.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Gets it, he gets it, and today's a big test.
They're down twenty one to nothing as we speak, so.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
And also as expected. Yeah, nobody is shocked about that. No,
hopefully though that they're able to learn something from this,
and it is their first big test. You know, you
really don't know until you're put in that position. So
they kind of prepped and prepped and prepped they did.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
The coaches were walking around practice with giant speakers playing
the organ like pump up songs like all these to
like get them prepared for like how crazy, how loud
and chaotic it's going to be. But as we're seeing
right now, it's it's a challenge. Second half is going
to be really telling to see if they can they
can adjust and get some points on the board. But

(31:00):
let's switch gears here, Moncy, because we're almost a week
away from MLB playoffs. Right playoff birst have already begun.
Braves were the first to clinch the nlast they're six
straight Dodgers clinch the NLS for the tenth time in
eleven years, Baltimore's first playoff birth since twenty sixteen, and
we have some really exciting races down the stretch right now.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
Let's start with the Al West Race.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Because between the between the.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
Astros and the Rangers and the Mariners.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
No one wants to win it right now, like each
of them have had prime opportunities to take the lead.
Rangers and Mariners are playing each other seven of their
last ten games this weekend, and the final weekend series
Rangers won last night jumped the Astros to be number
one in the AL West.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Both Astros and Seattle obviously lost.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
So right now you got Texas a top, Houston a
half a game back, Seattle a game back, and this
is going to come down to the wire because the
Rangers and the Mariners are playing each other two.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Of their last three series.

Speaker 6 (32:03):
Yeah, I'm really glad I'm not a fan of any
of these teams because I'm stressed and I don't care,
and I'm stressed.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Like anything can happen at this moment.

Speaker 6 (32:12):
Anything Obviously, Obviously, I don't want the Astros to make it.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
Obviously, I'm a Dodger fan. Astros out by. Obviously I'm
gonna make it.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
I really like, I don't. I don't know how this
is gonna end, I believe.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Because the Rangers and Mariners are playing each other seven
of the last ten, one of those two teams is
gonna be in, and then.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
The other one's gonna be out just and then whoever's.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
In, it's gonna be them in Houston who wins the
aos and then one of the other two is gonna
get that wild card spot. Just kind of my gut
feeling because they're gonna beating up on each other.

Speaker 6 (32:42):
No, yeah, and it makes perfect sense because those games
are gonna weigh a lot more than the other games.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
And it's like, but I couldn't believe that the main.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Changers, we took the top spot after they had their
offenses top three in the league. Like, that's kind of
what you have to remember, Corey Seeger's been playing great.
They just got Josh Young and Adolas Garcia back. Yeah,
Jona Hym's been hitting really well. They have a more
complete one through nine lineup. Julio Rodriguez is carrying that
Mariners team. So I looked at the Mariners batting averages.

(33:11):
Nobody is batting over three hundred on the Mariners. Well
it's it's not even Julio, I know, but like it
is the one who's carrying it. And then on top
of it, Rangers defense is also top three in a
lot of the defensive stats right now, so like they
are the more complete team, they should win more of
these right, like seven out of the ten game.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
And they also are very lucky they went through their slump.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
Already because you know, they started super high, oh yeah,
and then they went through a.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Real tough bad timing, bad timing they could you.

Speaker 6 (33:41):
Say good timing because now look at them.

Speaker 13 (33:44):
It.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
I don't know if it's ever a good time to
give up, to give up the divisional.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Lead, but no, not at all.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
But they're back in it.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
But you know, the it really matters, like the highs
and lows matter when they occur. And for them that
they're already happened, I feel like that's a good.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
Signed for them.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
It is a good sign, all right. We also have
another crazy race. The NL wild card race, Yeah, is
absolutely insane. I mean, currently, Phillies, they're they're in there.
They've got like a five game like comfortable spot a
top of the NL Wildcard.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
But then you got the d Backs.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
The Cubs are in right now, Marlins are game out,
Reds a game and a half, Giants three games out.
This is also gonna be a crazy this last week.
Plus I D Backs are I D Backs are surprising
me here. But Corbyn Carroll's having an insane rookie season.

(34:41):
He's a first working in MLB history with twenty five
plus home runs and fifty plus stolen bases, like first
first rookie in history. So I mean, it's looking good.
This is gonna be wild down the stretch.

Speaker 6 (34:53):
It really is, and it's you know, I want to
see the Marlins in there. I want to see the
Reds in there. I want to see.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Red's Reds blew it.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
They had it, they had it, and they could not
capitalize and take a lead when they had the opportunity.
But again, Reds fans should be excited.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
They should.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
They have one of the most exciting group of young rookies.
Ellie da La Cruz is going to carry that team
for a long time. So I wouldn't call this season
a disappointment.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
They shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
But they're definitely They're going to be in the conversation
for a long time. They have a bright future ahead
of them. It's gonna be exciting this last week week
plus of baseball.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
This is what you hope for.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
Yeah, you know, as a baseball fan. So I'm excited,
all right, We're gonna take a quick break here when
we come back. The Dudes and the don'ts in sports.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio and.

Speaker 11 (35:42):
Back to throw, Gonna go fade route to Franklin.

Speaker 10 (35:44):
He's got it, touchdown Orion.

Speaker 11 (35:48):
You gotta wait for the guy and stripes to throw
his arms up. But you could see he made the catch.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
You could see he made the catch. Jerry Allen from Learfield.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
Another one for the Oregon Ducks who are eating the
Colorado Buffalo's twenty one zero OO with less than six
minutes to go in the second quarter. Bo Nicks one
hundred and twenty six yards, two touchdowns and one interception
in the air. Shador Sanders thirty seven yard.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Oh dang, dang, dang.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
You're listening to FOS Sports Saturday, Alex Curry alongside Mancy
Belano's Yeah, Colorado is getting a wake up call today.
We're gonna keep you updated throughout the entire show how
that's going down. But it is time for one of
our favorite news segments, The dues and the don'ts in sports.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
I love those highlighting the dudes. I love that putting
a spotlight on the don't.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
The subject brings me no, joy, don't do that.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
Are you on crack?

Speaker 1 (36:46):
It's time for the dues and the don'ts in sports?

Speaker 3 (36:50):
All right, we're gonna lead uh with a do here.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Okay, you have incredible pregame speeches. I don't know if
you guys have seen it or heard it. Yeah, but
we're gonna play for you in just a second. Dan Landing,
the head coach of Oregon, had an incredible pump up
speech to his players before the Colorado game.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Take a listen rooted.

Speaker 13 (37:10):
In substance, not flash rooted in substance. Today we talk
with our pats. You're talking your right every moment. The
Cinderella story's over man, Right, they're fighting for clicks, We're
fighting for wins.

Speaker 10 (37:25):
Where's the difference, right, there's a difference. Right. This game
ain't gonna be played in Hollywood. It's gonna be played
on the grass. Right, It's gonna be played on the grass.
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
I'm we're fighting for heads. WHOA, I'm pumped and pie.
I mean that's how you do a pump.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Up speed, That is how you do it.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
I've got to do for you, Okay, all right, do
do a photo shoot with your first career touchdown. Did
you see Colts tight end Kylin Granson first career touchdown?

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Did a photo shoot? So there's a football are wrapped
in a blanket. He's like holding it up like.

Speaker 6 (38:03):
In the Lion Key, playing with it, caressing it and
the caption.

Speaker 4 (38:07):
After three years of trying, it's finally here.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
I do that so much. I love that so much.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Okay, onto our next du Okay, go do whatever it
takes to heal. Aaron Rodgers is trying some new remedies again.
This one is a little strange.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
Take a listen the ideas.

Speaker 16 (38:27):
That some of the noises from the dolphins when they
love making, the frequency of that is actually healing to
the body.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
You're just sticking up achilles, sitting on your back porch,
ahead and hump your way and my achilles getting healed.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Whatever works for you, dolphin love making frequencies helps the
body heal.

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Okay, all right, I gotta dart for you, all right,
don't all right?

Speaker 6 (38:56):
James Dolan is the owner of the Knicks and the Rangers.
In a he's an interview with The New York Times,
he basically said he doesn't like owning teams. What a
lot of right he was saying that it's hard to
get in a privilege, a privilege a professional sports team.
He was talking about how like the fans because you
know a lot of Nick fans don't like him, and
he was like, they're hard.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
They all think they're the general manager.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
And it's like, okay, but you don't need to say
I don't like owning teams.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Like you said, it's a privilege.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
It is.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Don't say that. Yeah, goodness, did not how to teach
somebody that?

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Yeah, all right, I have another du here, go for it.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Do Larry David doing a full season of Curb as
the Jets assistant coach.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Now.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
This clip was.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Resurfaced from the Howard Stern Show from twenty fifteen.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Let's play it.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
You believe that you are?

Speaker 5 (39:45):
I think, just with a little studying, I think I
could be a tremendous offensive coordinator really and defensive coordinator. Yes,
I see many things that I know I could fix.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Don't you think that would be a great Curb season
where you become.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Arguing that much?

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Please please do a full season of Curb as one
of the Jets assistant coaches, because.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
That would just be absolute cold.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Yeah, No, that was funny.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Absolute cold.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
All right.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
When we come back, we're hitting the panic button or
being patient on the nine teams that are oh and
to don't go anywhere.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
We've already had a great first hour, and our second
hour is going to be the goal of the day.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Was just have fun.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
Just have fun.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
We're having We are having all right.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
We have a Fox Sports NFC North reporter, Carmen Vitally
joining us at the bottom of the hour. We're keeping
you updated on all the college football highlights as they happened.
But let's kick off this hour by going through the
nine teams that are currently zero to two and decide, Mancy,
if we are hitting the panic button or you just
have to have a little patience. Okay, I like it.

(41:45):
Let's start in Cincinnati. Okay, the Bengals. Joe Burrow injured
his calf during the preseason, and we are in week three.
He is already dealing with setbacks and injuries again. He
tweaked his calf near the end of last Sunday's twenty
seven to twenty four loss to the Ravens, and the

(42:05):
only thing that is going to help his calf is
long rest.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Calf injuries are so tough. One wrong step you can reinjure.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
I don't even want to like say out loud, what
else they can lead to if you don't take care
of it. I mean, if you're just a normy like
us walking around, you can deal.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
But he's playing the most important position on an NFL team.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
You just call us Normy.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Yeah, Normy is uh. He just got paid the most
money in NFL history.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
We're seeing that he's throwing the ball in practice, but
still unsure. He does have an extra day because Bengals
play the Rams Monday night, but he needs prolonged rests
and with Burrows uncertainty whether he's playing injured or sits
out both bad options. I'm panicking. Yeah, I'm panicking for

(42:59):
the Bengals. Both of their losses have been divisional losses,
which come end of the season, that's where they really
start to hurt. You can't have back to back divisional losses.

Speaker 6 (43:14):
I hate it, but I'm panicking too, honestly. You know,
early on, remember we did our predictions. I was like,
he's fine, and he's gonna win that game.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
I knew Game one was gonna be tough.

Speaker 6 (43:23):
I really feel that they just have lied to us
about how bad this calf injury was, especially because before
the season officially started, Jamar Chase, I think it was
Jamar Chase that was being talking to the media and
he says, don't come back to a week five. And
when he said that, I was like, oh, it must
be that serious. And then we didn't hear that again. Right,

(43:43):
So I legit thought that it was minor because I
agree those calf injuries linger. They absolutely linger, and you
don't know when they're gonna be reaggravated.

Speaker 4 (43:51):
But I didn't think it was that bad. Clearly I
was wrong.

Speaker 6 (43:57):
And if if it was that bad, I did he
play week one?

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Why did he play week two? Why did we not
listen to Jamar Jays?

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Because they're backup Jake Browning. It's not a ton of experience.
He played a preseason game, only regular season action. He
saw his four snaps that he got in Game one
at the end of their blowout loss, and he did
not complete a pass.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
I don't care as.

Speaker 4 (44:21):
Not play joke Burrow.

Speaker 10 (44:23):
He's not ready.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
There is not a good backup option.

Speaker 4 (44:25):
I don't care if your backup sucks. How did you
play him if he wasn't ready?

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Clearly I'm upset.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
Clearly I'm upset.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, No, he because he needs he needs. The only
way it's going to get better. Calf injury is prolonged rest.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
So if you maybe would have benched him week one
and two, maybe he'd be better.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
You still be on to you can't live in the wood.
Could have shown I like to think about the future.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
We're not living in the past, man, but but now.

Speaker 6 (44:54):
Living we're living in the past because you made the
wrong decision. You made the wrong decision. Okay, I just
it really is upsetting. I really didn't think the caf
injury was that bad. I knew he was injured. I
just didn't think it was that bad because they let
him play. So it's like, why did you let him play?
So no, I'm panicking, Yeah, both panicking.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
Oh yeah, all right, no questions asked.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
Let's move to the charging I'm sweating. Yeah, deep breath,
deep breath. Let's reset here.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Let's move to the chargers, because I feel like they
should be doing better.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
Right.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
These have been close losses. The offense is putting up
the points. There's no shortage of points here.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
Thirty six, thirty four loss to the Dolphins, twenty seven
to twenty four loss to the Titans, and justin, Herbert's
numbers aren't terrible. Fourteenth in completion percentage, ninth in passing yards,
hasn't thrown an interception, no turnovers, so.

Speaker 3 (45:45):
He's playing clean. He's doing he's doing his job.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
The offense is holding up their end of the bargain,
but the defense isn't stopping anybody. And this is why
I'm starting to panic a little, because they hired a
defensive coach in Brandon Sale, and the defense is the
problem area and where they're struggling.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
And your head coach should have his.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Side of the ball locked up, and he doesn't, And
because of that, I am panicking.

Speaker 4 (46:11):
Of course, we're panicking.

Speaker 6 (46:12):
Just when you think the Chargers can't possibly lose in
a more ridiculous way than they did the game prior,
they do and this goes into the end.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
Of last year. We're not even just talking about literally
the way that they have lost.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
You're like, how, how you can't possibly lose in a
more ridiculous way?

Speaker 4 (46:31):
And they keep doing it.

Speaker 6 (46:32):
The problem is not justin Herbert in any way, shape
or form. That is what's sad, and it's y'all have
to figure it out. I had the Chargers winning the
ANFC West at starting the season, and I'm just like,
what are we doing?

Speaker 4 (46:46):
What are we doing? No, I'm not I'm in a
stick to it, but as no panic. And I even
wrote panic in all.

Speaker 6 (46:51):
Capital letters because it's just the problem isn't the offense,
like you said, but you're losing in ridiculous ways. You're
making decisions. But it's like why, it's very frustrating as
a Chargers fan.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
Oh you Chargers fan.

Speaker 4 (47:05):
I am a Chargers fan.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
Oh yikes, girl, I'm a Copers fan.

Speaker 4 (47:08):
I'm a Chargers fan.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
It is rough.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
It is rough.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
I'm sorry, mom, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (47:15):
Man, I like it. An it's it's annoying, it is.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Okay, let's move on to the Patriots. They're just kind
of floating in the middle, right, Okay, they saw Bill Belichick,
even though he hasn't been the same obviously since Tom
Brady left. But Mac Jones just got an offensive coordinator
this season in Bill O'Brien. Okay, he's an experienced coach.

(47:39):
He was a Texans head coach from twenty fourteen to
twenty twenty, spent the last two seasons as the offensive
coordinator for Alabama. I think we have to give Mac
Jones a little bit of time. I think we need
to be patient with the Patriots not panicking yet, give
him a couple more games to figure it out with

(48:01):
his new offensive corner coordinator before we panic.

Speaker 4 (48:04):
I'm with you, on that.

Speaker 6 (48:05):
I don't think there is need to panic because nobody
was expecting much this season of the Patriots. When you
have Bill Belichick, you can assume that they're gonna be
in any game, right, There's always a good chance. There's
also a very possible chance that the Patriots start oh
and four this season. They're about to face the Jets
and the Cowboys next. There's a very possible chance that

(48:25):
they start oh and four.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Yeah, Jets Patriots is going to be a coose one.
That's gonna be interesting.

Speaker 6 (48:31):
It is gonna be But they could lose to the Jets,
they could Cowboys. They you know what I'm saying, Like,
but I agree, I don't think there's a reason to panic.
There is still like they're figuring stuff out. Bill Belichick's there,
you know what I mean, Like, can't They're in any game?
And that's the reality of it.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
When you have a strategist as good as Bill Belichick,
you are in everything. Just give him a moment, all right, Okay,
moving on to the Broncos. This is Panic City. This
is a hot mess. Russell will is the mayor of
Panic City. You guys, Russ and Sean Payton are not
on the same page at all, and the conversation of

(49:09):
give Russ an offensive guy will be he'll be great.
This is a Super Bowl winning quarterback and a Super
Bowl winning coach and they cannot.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
Figure it out at all.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
And this week they're playing arguably one of the best
teams in the league right now, the Dolphins in Miami,
who us having an incredible start to the season. They
are clicking on all cylinders. I see the Broncos going
zero to three, and Broncos fans should be panicking right now.

Speaker 4 (49:36):
I mean, I guess you're I was gonna.

Speaker 6 (49:38):
I wouldn't panic, but I guess if you're a Broncos fan,
you would. I think that there have been it's only been.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
What you mean, what's the light at the end of
the tunnel? You see here?

Speaker 4 (49:47):
I see moments where Russell Wilson looks.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
In the first half and then like where is he
in the third and fourth quarter?

Speaker 17 (49:52):
There?

Speaker 6 (49:53):
But after last year, I feel that, you know, there's
moments and I don't think Sean Payton is gonna let
them be bad forever.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
So but it's not.

Speaker 4 (50:02):
And out of the division, I think they're lucky.

Speaker 6 (50:04):
Look at the Chargers oh and two Chiefs one to one,
but like there's no I I because of that.

Speaker 4 (50:11):
I don't see why you panic just yet.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
Because the quarterback and the head coach cannot get on
the same page.

Speaker 6 (50:18):
It's been two weeks, it's been two games, and there
have been moments where it looks like he like he's
back not to the Russell Wilson that we saw when
he you know, when his Super Bowl or anything like that,
but I do see him better than I saw last year.
And I just a'm like that your division right now,
it's it's so early. I guess that I wouldn't panic.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
But if you're but you have faith, you have faith
in the old Russ and the coach that Sean Payton is,
and you think you can turn it around.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
And I think based on how it's going so far.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
For everybody, I gotta see them like on the same
page before I pick my hand off the panic button,
because right now it just feels like a hot mess.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
It could be a hot mess. It is a hot Yeah,
I still you know what I mean, Like I hear you.
I just let's wait and see.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
It's only ready to disagree here. Okay, let's move on to
the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
I gotta be honest.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
I feel like I got blinded by the Netflix glue
up of Kirk Cousins, his work ethic, his dedication, plus
the crazy run that he went on last season, the
seven game win streak winning the NFC North.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
I the thing is is.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
They've been competitive, they just haven't been able to close
it out, losing to the Bucks twenty seventeen, losing to
the Eagles thirty four to twenty eight, one of the
best teams in the league.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
Right now, I'm gonna be patient.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
You're gonna be patient.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
I'm gonna be patient with the Vikings because of Jefferson
and because of Kirk Cousins. If they start clicking and
if they find a groove, I think they'll be okay.
I was gonna say i'd panic a little bit because
of the trade rumors.

Speaker 4 (52:00):
No, so a couple of things.

Speaker 6 (52:02):
I think they have a rough schedule, and that matters
as it matters, So I think they have a rough schedule. Clearly,
not having Dalvin Cook plugging in Alexander Madison was not
the smoothest transition that maybe they thought, maybe getting cam
Akers is gonna be the difference maker, but I don't
think so.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
And so I'd panic a little bit.

Speaker 6 (52:23):
As much as I like Justin Jefferson, as much as
I like Kirk Cousins, He's one of my fantasy quarterbacks.
He you know, delivers, sometimes he makes questionable choices and
all that. Yes, yes, i'd panic a little bit. I
just I think they have a tough schedule and I
think they're still figuring things out, okay, and I don't
know if they're going.

Speaker 4 (52:41):
To figure it out figure it out on time.

Speaker 2 (52:44):
So we flip flopped between, I know, the Broncos and
the Vikings. Yeah, I'm panicking. Your patient on the Broncos,
I'm patient on the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Your pans Yeah, I put it.

Speaker 4 (52:53):
I'd panic a bit, Yeah, I panic a bit.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
Well, the remaining four teams going to you guys, it's
just not your year.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
It's not happening, okay. The Bears hot mess.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Will dive into that at the bottom of the hour
with Carmen Vitali because there's a lot going on there.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
Cardinals internally just a mess.

Speaker 2 (53:14):
Kyler's still rehabbing from his ACL injury. There's no definitive
timeline of when he's gonna be back. Panthers, you go
to rookie quarterback who's hurt, Bryce Young Jessey's time to develop,
they don't have a ton of weapons, they're kind of
at the start of their rebuild. And Texans rookie quarterback
who needs time. I just yeah, it's hard to like

(53:37):
to say you're panicking about these teams.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
It's just not your years. It's just not your year.

Speaker 4 (53:40):
Different for different reasons.

Speaker 6 (53:42):
When the Cardinals released Colt McCoy, they literally said, we're
not panicking ever this year, you guys, We're just gonna
cruise through this season. Once they did that, it was like,
all right, they don't care. They're not panicking at all.
You shit either. I agree with everything you said though,
like rookie quarterbacks figuring things outo coaches. You know, Denica
Ryan's first time, so a lot of a lot of

(54:04):
newness is happening. So there is no reason to panic.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
It's just it is.

Speaker 1 (54:10):
What it is.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
Is like, let it ride.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Yeah, I'm sorry fans. Yeah, there's the Cardinals, Panthers, and Texans.
It's just that's it's just it's just not your year.
It's just not just not your year. Yeah, But for
the other teams that we mentioned, it's not impossible. There
have been teams that started oh to two and have
reached Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
All right, it's happened four times, it's been a while.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
You got nineteen ninety three Cowboys who ended up defeating
the Bills. You have the ninety six Patriots lost to
the Packers, two thousand and one Patriots defeated the Rams,
and then the two thousand and seven Giants defeated the Patriots.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
So it's not impossible, no, no.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
To make it to the super Bowl after starting oh
and two, if you were one of the top teams
that we talked about, if for panicking or being patient
and all the chance and.

Speaker 6 (54:59):
Also the way the season has started with it's just
been shocking, right, like the Chiefs starting one in one.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
So love a little bit of chaos, yes, so chaos.
Anything can happen, exactly, Like.

Speaker 6 (55:10):
No team really should be worried about being ow into
just because nobody has actually done what they thought. We're
all surprised about everything going on. What are you not
surprised about?

Speaker 12 (55:19):
No?

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Are you?

Speaker 4 (55:21):
Are you not surprised that Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers
are two and ozer?

Speaker 1 (55:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Because I mean, as like we talked to Emmanuelaco in
the first hour, and he made a great point. Baker
does well when he's doubted. Anytime Baker's doubted, he continues
like he has moments of greatness, moments of great, moments
of greatness.

Speaker 6 (55:40):
And I'm rooting for him, by the way, I think,
me too, me too. I loved his commercials. I thought
they were so funny.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
He got you.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
He also understands the entertainment side of sports, right, because
a little too much is difficult.

Speaker 4 (55:52):
It's all about timing, okay, and he he had it.

Speaker 1 (55:55):
I was in.

Speaker 3 (55:56):
I was like, all right, Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 2 (55:58):
He got Manci, he got me. All Right, We're gonna
take a quick break here. When we come back. We
have Fox Sports NFC North reporter Carmen Vitally joining us
at the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (56:10):
Turn a man and logic across the formation, score a
white and Joe Milton's gonna keep.

Speaker 16 (56:15):
It coming on this left side gets to the twenty.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
That's the authority, that's the Milpfield. It's a fun race
till a thirty. He's out of here.

Speaker 16 (56:22):
Filton to the tenn He's all the way clip Tennessee
touchdown on pointing upper one eighty one yards. Joe Milton
faked it, then took around the left hand and out
ran the entire road Runners.

Speaker 6 (56:36):
Yes, Joe Milton doing a little bit of everything you
just heard Bob keustling from Learfield as the Tennessee volunteers
are dominating UTSA Roadrunners thirty one zero three and a
half minutes to go in the first half. Joe Milton
doesn't just have a touchdown on the ground, Alex, He's
got one hundred and.

Speaker 4 (56:52):
Fifty six yards and two touchdowns in the ear.

Speaker 3 (56:54):
He's doing all What a day.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday AM Alex Curry alongside
Monciy Belina. We are broadcasting live from the tyreq dot
Com studios in Los Angeles. We have Fox Sports NFC
North reporter Carmen and Vitally joining us at the bottom
of the hour. Now, Monty, we started this hour talking
about the two teams I for Panic Gang or being Patient.
But now we got to give some love to the
best of the best so far this season. And we're

(57:18):
starting in San Francisco. All right, because Brock Party Man,
there were a lot of question marks for Brock Party
heading into this season was last season a fluke? Will
he have a fallback or a sophomore slump? Nope, brock
Party is that guy.

Speaker 14 (57:35):
Now.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
He's nothing fancy, there's not a wow factor. But he
doesn't have to be. All he has to do is
be a distributor.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
All he needs to do is be accurate, get the
ball to their playmakers and let the stars do their thing.
They have so many weapons with Kittle, McCaffrey, Debo, ayuk.
These are the guys, these are the reason for the
forty nine ers success.

Speaker 4 (58:03):
Yeah, I mean he fits into that Kyle Shanahan.

Speaker 6 (58:06):
Scheme like plug and play holy man, and good for him, right,
like good for him. It is quite unbelievable that he
just picked up where he left off. But we can't,
like you just listed all those weapons.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
You cannot men the start of the show.

Speaker 6 (58:21):
He just has so many weapons, He's got so many options.
Even with though, he still has to make the play
and deliver, and he is doing that. The Niners, again
we said this last week, are the look like the
most complete team from top to bottom.

Speaker 3 (58:35):
Oh yeah, from top to us down.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
And you got to give the forty nine ers credit
because they've been committed to brock Purty all off season. Right,
if he was healthy, he was your guy. They traded
the third overall pick, Trey Lance out of the building
forgot that happened, Yeah, out of the building. Brock Party
is our guy. They went all in on their seventh round,

(59:01):
last overall pick brock Party. And like we were talking
about with a Manuaco in the first hour, when a
team and a coach puts that kind of belief into
a young quarterback and you feel that and the locker
room rallies around you and all your star players rally
around you, that can do wonders for any young player's

(59:22):
confidence and ability to just be. Like we said, the
an accurate distributor for Kyl Shanahan's off a man an
end game manager.

Speaker 3 (59:34):
Does it need to be flashy?

Speaker 13 (59:36):
No?

Speaker 3 (59:36):
Does it need to be fancy? He's getting the job done.

Speaker 6 (59:39):
Yeah, And you cannot take away with what he's doing
really because again he still has to deliver, right, Like
you could have all these weapons, but if you can't
put the ball where it needs to be, then it
doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
And he's putting the ball where it needs to be.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
He's great.

Speaker 6 (59:51):
Yeah, No, go forty nine ers man a way to
go to, like have such faith in this guy, and
all off season, especially with the injury when nobody knew,
everybody was like, are you sure he's okay?

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
I mean it was a massive, massive, massive injury and
procedure that he had to his throwing elbow.

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
So this was this was great.

Speaker 12 (01:00:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
I've also surprised and impressed what we've seen Tua do
this season, because the question still is can he stay
healthy another concussion? It gets really scary and you have
to seriously talk about his future.

Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
But he is thriving in Mike McDaniel's offense.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
He is second in passing yards to brock Perty who
has already played his Week three game, fourth and four
passing touchdowns, was tied for fourth and eighth in passer
rating so two. Like, Tula has been great obviously, he
also has two incredible weapons with Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Jalen Wattle is dealing with a.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Concussion protocol, so is he officially out this weekend?

Speaker 10 (01:00:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
I have them in all my fantasy teams, guys, yeah,
all three.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
They're playing the Broncos at home this weekend. They should
win this one and go three and oh sents.

Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
As we talked about earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Russ and the Broncos are there. Him and Sean are
just Jean Payn are just not on the same page
right now. And fun fact here, Tua has won nine
straight games against Super Bowl winning coaches, which is tied
for the most in NFL history. If he can push
it to ten with week three, he'll set the record.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
And he's uh again be able to do that this week.

Speaker 6 (01:01:27):
I listen, impressive, I am impressed by two, and I'm
happy that he's having this start of a season. I
guess I'm just wondering how long it's gonna last, to
be honest with you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Because from week one to week two, we did see
a difference stay healthy, but we did see a difference
like teams start to figure out.

Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
I mean, like obviously all you got to do is
stop Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
Not that Jalen Waddle isn't great, right he moster has
been great for them as well, But we did see
a difference from week one to week two how teams
can adjust. Yeah, So I am looking forward to seeing
what Tua and the Dolphins do moving forward. Yeah, because
it's they've all been very high scoring games too, like
on both ends, so It's just I'm just curious to
see happy to see that he's doing well. I'm wondering

(01:02:07):
if it'll last, and not even just injury wise, I'm
just wondering how it'll lost.

Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
It's gonna be a fun one this weekend.

Speaker 14 (01:02:13):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
We have a Fox Sports NFC reporter, Carmen Vitally joining
us in just a moment.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
But now let's check in with Martin Weisson. See what's truffic.

Speaker 15 (01:02:23):
Three matchups, the top twenty five teams going right now,
all these games either at half or early in the
second quarter. But pregame, Dan Lanning, head coach of Oregon,
he was fired.

Speaker 10 (01:02:32):
Up right every moment.

Speaker 13 (01:02:35):
The Cinderella story's over, man, right, they're fighting for plex,
we're fighting for wins.

Speaker 10 (01:02:41):
There's a difference. This game ain't gonna be playing in Hollywood.
It's gonna be played on the grass.

Speaker 15 (01:02:45):
It looks like the clock minor struck midnight for Cinderella.

Speaker 11 (01:02:47):
There.

Speaker 15 (01:02:48):
Number ten Oregon up thirty five to nothing on Colorado.
The Ducks have twenty two first downs. The Buffaloes have
twenty three total yards. Number eleventh ranked Utah up fourteen
or nothing on UC That game's on Fox number thirteenth
three to Alabama took a lead on a Fueld goal
in the first drive of the third quarter, nine to
seven lead on number fifteen Old Miss Crimson tied. Red

(01:03:09):
zone struggles continuing and number twenty Miami takes a twenty
four to seven lead over Temple and a half time.
That's right, you guys did say this earlier, just second ago.
Miami Dolphins we I receiver Jalen Waddle in concussion protocol,
ruled out for Sunday's game. Jamal Williams on IR after
Monday night's hamstring industry he'll miss the next four games
for the Saints. Quarterback Joe Burrow listed as questionable for

(01:03:30):
Monday's game against the Rams and Houston Texas left tackle
Jeramie Tunsel also ruled out for Sunday's game at Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Alex A. Mossi back to you.

Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
Thank you, Martin.

Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday and Alex Curry alongside
Monty Beilanios and we are broadcasting live from the tyreck
dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Our next guest is
the voice of Fox Sports NFC North coverage. You've seen
her on the Herd on the NFL on Fox podcast.
You'll be hearing her a lot on our show. Please
welcome Carmen Tally.

Speaker 12 (01:04:00):
Comen.

Speaker 14 (01:04:02):
Hi, guys, Hi did it talk to you?

Speaker 9 (01:04:06):
I know?

Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
Welcome, Welcome girl.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
Now, let's start in Chicago, because there is a lot
going on with that franchise right now. Girl, Starting with
Justin Fields. The comments he made this week about the
coaching staff then ran it back saying he doesn't blame
them and the coaches it's all on him. What did
you make of this whole situation.

Speaker 14 (01:04:24):
I thought that it was a very real moment from
Justin Field, the real moment of frustration. I mean, there
are so many levels of dysfunction to the Chicago Bears
right now, and I think that he was getting his
fair share of it and maybe wanted to share it
a little bit. I don't think he was wrong in
anything he said. I don't think he was taken out
of context at all when he said that coaching could

(01:04:46):
be the reason he's overthinking. He's trying to process a
million different things. But guess what, That's what being an
NFL quarterback's all about. So it was a wild day
for so many reasons. On Wednesday, allis and I can't
even keep it all straight.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
Where do they go from here?

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Is this kind of the beginning of the end for
Justin Fields in Chicago?

Speaker 14 (01:05:07):
I kind of get that. I kind of get that
sentiment just because of the fact that this is a
franchise that has never had their head coach, their GM,
and their quarterback all aligned. Yeah, at least like in
my lifetime. I haven't seen that in so long. And
Ryan Poles and Maddie Rififth did not bring in Justin Fields,

(01:05:28):
and the offense that the Bears are currently trying to
run is not one that really lends itself to Justine
Field's skill set. So either the offense is going to
have to change but we thought that that was going
to happen this whole off season, or the quarterback's going
to need to change, And I think that the quarterback
is probably the easier change at this point after the season.
As far as going forward now, I almost wish there

(01:05:51):
was just a mercy role in the NFL and the
Bears could just be like, We're we're gonna click pause
on this season and we're just gonna we're just sit
this one out.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
So we said like, yeah, I were like, it's just
not your year.

Speaker 6 (01:06:04):
Yeah, it's just Carmen. Thanks for joining us on this Saturday.
We appreciate it so much. There's just so much messy
things surrounding the Bears right now. I read that they
had equipment stolen. I mean, we should somebody burn stage
at the stadium, Like, is that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
The next step here?

Speaker 14 (01:06:21):
Honestly, that happened when I worked for the Buccaneers. When
I worked at the Buccaneers, they're in a losing streak.
I think we had, like I don't I forget how
many games it was because that was back in the
darker years when I first started with the franchise, and
we literally there was a woman in football administration that
burn stage out the entire building.

Speaker 6 (01:06:39):
I mean, listen, I'm just saying it could be an
option at this point.

Speaker 12 (01:06:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 14 (01:06:45):
Maybe I need to go down to Hallis and burnt
the stage myself. But I will say the equipment that
was stolen the Bears do not own Soldier Field, that
is run by the park district. That was the park
district equipment, so it wasn't even the Bear's fault. But
they're still having the deal happened to them. It's so sad.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Yeah, Mexie, I can't even imagine what the mood is
like right now in that building. Between all of that,
the defensive coordinator situation.

Speaker 3 (01:07:13):
Is there any hope for this team this year? No,
just done.

Speaker 14 (01:07:17):
I I honestly, I'm gonna I'm very interested to see
what happens in Kansas City, because I think that if
this was really a script, right, if the NFL was scripted,
you would see this team kind of galvanize each other
and go out and shock the world at Arrowhead and
take down the Kansas City cheap. I don't think that's
going to happen. And we are very quickly and rapidly

(01:07:40):
coming up on a year since they last won a game.
I think they've got like three or four more games
after Kansas City that they have to lose, and then
they will not have won in a calendar year. So
I don't have a ton of encouraging words for Chicago fans.
And I listen, I grew up one and this is
a level of absurdity.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
So I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were also a
Bears fan.

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
But let's switch gears because the Packers are they're looking
good post Aaron Rodgers. Did they find they're third straight
franchise guy in Jordan Love.

Speaker 14 (01:08:16):
I'm not going to go to the bar and say
that Jordan Love is a future Hall of Famer. But
at the same time, this is what the Packers do.
This is the succession system that they've had for quarterbacks
under center for speaking of my entire life, for the
last three decades, they went from Far to Aaron Rodgers
and now to Jordan Love. And it's just such a

(01:08:36):
comprehensive approach to bringing in and developing another quarterback. He
got to sit for three years behind Aaron Rodgers watch
one of the best to ever do it execute the
offense that he was going to get into, and then
once he gets there, he takes the reins. He's got
a really good offensive line, although there's some injuries right now,
he's got a very reliable backfield with him, and he's
got a really talented defense that needs to start playing

(01:08:58):
up to it a little bit more. But on top
of that, he also has a very experienced play caller
in Matt Lafleur, who is actively trying to help him
in the plays that he is calling. So it's just
it's the complete opposite of Chicago. If we're being completely honest,
the Packers have done this, They've been doing this, they

(01:09:19):
know exactly how to do it, and it's just so
incredibly thorough with how they develop quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (01:09:25):
So Carmen nothing to worry about with Week two after
they lost to the Falcons. When they were up, they
just couldn't deliver in the second half. The Falcons came
from behind the Falcons, who again, nobody's expecting the Falcons
to do much, So no worry from what happened in
week two.

Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
You're saying it's we're good.

Speaker 14 (01:09:43):
Well not with Jordan Loves.

Speaker 10 (01:09:45):
Okay, that's the thing.

Speaker 14 (01:09:46):
It's one of those things where he has a talented defense.
That's one of those instances where you're supposed to be
able to rely on that defense, and he was not
able to do that. Jordan Love did his part against
the Falcons, he got them up to score going into
the and then the defense couldn't maintain it. And it's
specifically the run defense. I mean, Jon Robinson, who has
been everything Atlanta wants them to be in more ran

(01:10:08):
all over them and that was an issue last season too.
And again when you have eight first round picks on
that side of the ball. There are no excuses to
give up a twelve point lead in the fourth quarter
and surrender that game. So that is my only concern.
But it's not with Jordan Love.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
All right, all right, let's move to Detroit.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Because they came out with a statement win against the
reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs and then they had kind
of that tough O two lost to the Seahawks. There
is so much hype surrounding the Lions heading into the season.
Are they the real deal?

Speaker 14 (01:10:39):
I still believe that they are the real deal. I mean,
they had that was a very winnable game for them.
But the only thing is they are getting fitten hard
by the injury bug right now. And I mean Saze
Gardner or CIJ Gardner Johnson. That was a total surprise,
see even the coaching staff. I talked to some of
the kinds after the game. I was like, where did
this come from? We talked to CJ in the locker room.

(01:10:59):
I was at that game, and he was talking about,
you know, going forward, how they were going to do this,
this and this, and he seems very you know, like
he was going to play and now you know, he
goes on ir and that's a huge loss for that defense,
especially the pass defense, which is something that they really
spent a lot of time this off season remaking and
making sure that that was going to be solid. So

(01:11:19):
that concerns me. Injuries concerned me. Injuries along the offensive
line concerned me because Jared Goff is not Jared Goff
unless he's protected. But if they can work through these,
I mean it's furly in the season. If they can
work through these injuries, I still think that they are
the team to be in the NFC North.

Speaker 6 (01:11:35):
All right, let's talk about the Vikings Carmen for a second.
Moments where they look really good and then moments where
they don't.

Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
Starting off, Owen too.

Speaker 6 (01:11:46):
Had a rough game for Alexander Madison, you know, unfortunate,
But like, what do you do you think cam Akers
is going to be the difference maker? Are the Vikings
kind of just going to cruise through the season? What
do you make of them?

Speaker 16 (01:12:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:12:02):
I mean they didn't make Dalvin Cook do everything by
himself when Dalvin Cook was here in Minnesota, So now
that you have Alexander Madison, you can't expect him to
shoulder to really be that three down back and not
have any sort of repriev or rotation. So I don't
think cam Akers is a difference maker in that he's
going to steal a ton of carries from Alexander Madison.
I think he's just there in his supplementary role. He's

(01:12:24):
familiar with head coach Kevin O'Connell, who was with on
the Los Angeles RAM staff with cam Akers, so they
overlapped there. O'Connell knows exactly what he's getting in cam Akers,
So I think that that was a good ad. And again,
this is something This is a team that when I
was looking at them on paper I thought could be
even like on paper, were better this season, but I

(01:12:44):
was like, I think they're going to end up losing
more games. And it's just Minnesota's a weird team. They're
only a weird team. They were a weird team last year,
and they're weird for different reasons.

Speaker 6 (01:12:56):
But do you think, Carmen, that we're going to be
teams maybe apply a running back by committee more than
relying on one or two. Do you think we're going
to see more of that?

Speaker 14 (01:13:11):
I do? I absolutely do, because I don't think that
there's anything really to prevent that from happening, just because
of the fact that you are getting these mobile quarterbacks
and guys that can run a little bit more as well,
and they can factor into the run scheme. And so
if you can keep this rotation of guys that are
fresh and you can include your quarterback in that, defenses

(01:13:31):
aren't built to defend that anymore. They're built to defend
the pass. They're smaller, they're faster. That's a symptom of
what offenses have become. So now if you kind of
evolve that the NFL's cyclical league, if you evolve that
a little bit more, you might get more rushing yards,
or you might place more of an emphasis on the
run while not placing more of an emphasis on one

(01:13:52):
single fact, because you want to keep them fresh and
you want to keep a defense guessing, especially with how
versatile the backs are. You have guys that I can
act like receivers, run routes like receivers, come out of
the backfield, but then also line up wide. I mean
that really just I think that's the next evolution in
what we're going to see. And to do that, you're

(01:14:12):
going to need kind of a stable of guys you're.

Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Listening to Fox Sports Saturday with Alex Kurian Manci Belana
as we are talking to Fox Sports NSC North reporter
Carmen Vitale. Now, Carmen, you mentioned quarterbacks, there being more
obviously on the move, but there's been a lot of
rumors around trading Kirk Cousins is. Yeah, do they go

(01:14:35):
after a do do you think he is moving this year?
B do the Vikings go and draft a quarterback in
the next draft.

Speaker 14 (01:14:45):
I think the Vikings dude end up drafting a quarterback
in the next draft. But I don't know if he
gets moved this season, I think that it would have
to be a really good package. They are letting him
play out his last year. And but this is what
Kirka does. He also plays really well. I mean those
losses the past two losses have been a lot on

(01:15:06):
the turnovers. He's had multiple turnovers. I still can't think
that that's going to end up keeping up. Outside of that,
he's been playing well and obviously he has the benefit
of having a receiver like Justin Jefferson. Jordan Addison seems
to be a really good ad for this offense as well.
The rookie out of USC and so I think that
he's still going to make that as a hard decision
on Minnesota, and they're not going to give up quite yet,

(01:15:29):
or they shouldn't give up quite yet. I also want
to look at the defensive side of the ball when
you talk about this, because they're not a unit that
Kirk Cousins or this offense can rely on quite yet.
I think they're going to get there, but they underwent
a dramatic makeover with Brian Flores coming in to Minnesota.
It's still a base three four team, but Brian Flores's

(01:15:50):
defense is drastically different than what at Donnazell was running
last year, So I think it puts a lot more
on the players. So it's going to take a little
bit more to get going, and I think that's what
you're seeing right now. But these the Vikings have still
been in one score game. They're not winning them yet,
but I think they will once the defense starts to
step up a little bit more, and again that's going
to make their decision really hard on Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
Carmen, thank you so much for joining us. We really
appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
That was awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
We're gonna take one more break here, but when we
come back, Moncey and I are given some NFL picks.

Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (01:16:24):
Trips left for Oregon and Both frankling along to the
right anty backfield. That was both turns it up, wants
to run it does, gets inside the five pray touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
Bon Nicks our center of form. Bon Knicks, give me six.

Speaker 13 (01:16:42):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
Bonnicks, give me six. That was Jerry Allen from lear Field.

Speaker 6 (01:16:47):
And actually the Oregon Ducks have scored again as we
are talking literally right now this moment against the Colorado Buffaloes.

Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
So I believe the score is forty one zero. Yeah, yeah,
Oregon on on top.

Speaker 6 (01:17:02):

for our NFL Game Picks producer, Brandon You ready to
lead us through?

Speaker 17 (01:17:31):
Yes, I am.

Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
So.

Speaker 17 (01:17:33):
Last week we picked three games and Alex you went
two and one. Mancy you went one and two.

Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
So Alex gets the first Doug You of the season.

Speaker 10 (01:17:41):
Lad.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Yeah, so I went with my heart. Okay, not my brain?

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Uh huh okay.

Speaker 17 (01:17:47):
All right, Let's see if Alex can keep the streak
alive this week.

Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
We'll start at ramsaid, Bengals.

Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
You guys got in this one, Rams all the way baby.

Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
With a Burrow uncertainty whether he plays injured or sits out,
both not great options for the Bengals. Rams off looking
amazing even without Cooper Cup. The rookie has been lights ow.
Puka nakula Is star Is Born set the record for
most catches for a rookie in their first two games.

Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Let's go, baby.

Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
I don't want to I don't want to answer this. Bengals.

Speaker 6 (01:18:21):
If Joe Burrow plays, I'm gonna say the Bengals win.

Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
Can I say, like, if he doesn't play, then that's different.

Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
Oh, you gotta make a pick right now. It doesn't matter, Yes,
it does.

Speaker 13 (01:18:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
The whole point of a pick, Bengals if Joe Burrow plays.

Speaker 4 (01:18:33):
If he doesn't play, then that's a different story. But
i'mnna go Bengals. I'm gonna go Bengals. Go Bengals.

Speaker 17 (01:18:37):
Move on, MONSI mentioned Baker Mayfield a little earlier, So
let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
To Eagles at Buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Two undefeated teams. Baker Mayfield does look good in Tampa Bay.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, though, I think, are one
of the best in the league.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
They were in the Super Bowl last season.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
I think the Eagles win this one, but it's gonna
be closer than anyone would have expected at the start
of the season.

Speaker 6 (01:19:00):
Listen, I don't want to agree, but I completely agree
with you. I think it's gonna be a close one,
and I do think the Eagles come out on top.

Speaker 4 (01:19:07):
I don't want I don't want to say that.

Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
You know, I'm rooting for Baker Mayfield, but no, I
think that the Eagles win and it's gonna be a
close one.

Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
It's gonna be a fun game.

Speaker 17 (01:19:13):
I think, all right, this last one we'll pick. We're
gonna go to Los Angeles where.

Speaker 1 (01:19:17):
We have the Chargers at Vikings.

Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
Now, both these teams approve and need to win. Someone
is gonna be zero to three.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Both teams playing well, but haven't played good enough to win.
The Chargers defense has not been good and the Vikings
have the talent to turn it around.

Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
They just got cam Akers justin.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Jefferson has been great and if him and Cousins get
it going, there's no stopping them. I think the Vikings
offensive weapons they have will win this game over the
Chargers defense.

Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
So I'm taking the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
Listen, I gotta stick to my guns.

Speaker 6 (01:19:53):
I said the Chargers would win the division, so I'm
picking the Chargers to win this one. It's gonna be
a shootout, high scoring game.

Speaker 4 (01:19:59):
Charge just win.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
Okay, one more, we have time for a quickie. All right,
Let's see Broncos at Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
Broncos and Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
Easiest pick of the week. Miami should win this game.
If they don't, it's a huge upset. Dolphins clicking on
all cylinders right now. Rust and the Broncos are a
hot mess.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
Now the same.

Speaker 4 (01:20:14):
Yeah, Dolphins win. That's it.

Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Thank you so much for spending your Saturday afternoon with
Monsey and me. Hope you have a fun and safe weekend.
We'll see you next Saturday, same time, same place.

Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
See ya
