Speaker 2 (03:17):
Now I mentioned a couple couple minutes ago all the
crazy things that happened this week, But let's start in
the NFL because Wednesday night, every team and every fan
got to see what their season was going to look
like when the schedules were released, and it kind of
reminds me of when your favorite artist. Let's just go
with a Taylor Swift right now, because hers was like

(03:38):
the most anticipated, the most recently has that build up
to their album release and then everyone obsesses over each
song and the lyrics for weeks. Well, it seems same
but different with the NFL schedule release, all right, and
there were a lot of mixed emotions, and we're gonna
work through those emotions cause we're going to go through
the schedule release. We're going to share who we think

(03:59):
had the toughest, the easiest schedule, super Bowl faves, best
rivalry rematch, and the best team.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Social videos because there was a lot that was pure entertainment.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay, let's start with who got the toughest schedule. I'm
gonna go with the Steelers being one of the toughest
schedules out there. Now, last week they were my most
excited team to watch this season due to the quarterback situation,
the possible drama that we're gonna get, but also be
Mike Tomlin's final year in his contract and he hasn't

(04:31):
had a losing season in seventeen years.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Well well, well this.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Might be his first losing season, and the league did
not do the Steelers or Mike Tomlin any favors. Now,
when you take a look, we have the schedules printed
out in front of us, Thank you producer Patrick for that.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
When you take a look at their schedule.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
They have a pretty They could have a pretty good
start to the season before their Week nine bye week, right,
they could go five and three, maybe even six and two.
I have them losing to the Chargers, Cowboys, and Jets
if Rogers is doing well and healthy. But after Week nine,

(05:14):
after the Week nine bye week, they could easily go
oh to nine, especially if Jaden Daniels like hits.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I've never seen anything like the back half of it.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
In Washington, which adds to the quarterback point that I
made last week, like if if they go on a
losing streak, Mike Tomlin doesn't have anything to lose, He
doesn't have any loyalty to either these guys, Russell Wilson
or Justin Fields, and we could see some quarterback drama,
maybe Fields jumping in there getting the start like Tomlin,

(05:48):
maybe in his final season in Pittsburgh if it doesn't
go well. But all of this just adds to the
reality show drama of the Steelers that I can't wait
to watch go down because sports are my reality.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
To see this is what I was afraid of, honestly
with the Steelers and this and this insane.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
But that's the thing though, too, is like now.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
You're gonna be tempted regardless, uh, to see what Justin
Fields has, even if you stuck with Russ that entire time,
But like, realistically, you're gonna put Justin Fields in for
that gauntlet and then it's like all right, if he struggles,
then you go back to Russ.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
And it goes back.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
To my original point and to be drama of if
you have two quarterbacks you have none, and the Steeler
schedule is not set up to be kind to either
of these guys. And I had a feeling here those
are the Steelers, because I think that that's a pretty
big consensus of like who has one of the tougher schedules.
But allow me to enter in another team which I
haven't heard a lot of people talk about. Yeah, and

(06:50):
it's the Denver Bronco. Because so in this exercise trying
to be objective, I looked through all of the teams
that now have this week fourteen by allowed by the NFL,
which is insane to play thirteen straight weeks without having a.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Bye, that seems a little and then.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Much before the bye, immediately before the bye, Yeah, you
have I'm working backwards week thirteen. You have Cleveland, who
has a phenomenal defense, whatever ends up happening at their
quarterback situation, that defense is suffocating. You have Vegas maybe,
But then you have Atlanta, who actually I'm counting as

(07:30):
they thought they were a quarterback away when they signed
Kirk Cousins. Yea, then they superfluously got another quarterback. But
I thought they're going to be good. Kansas City and Baltimore,
So you have to go through that when you are
run down and beaten down. We don't know what Bonix
is going to end up being. No I this was,

(07:51):
And then you end the season if you're the Denver
Broncos against obviously you have to play the Kansas City
Chiefs twice, but you also have Cincinnati week seventeen, and
that's going to be a Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals team.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Hopefully that's such. That's such a long time to play
with before having.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
That's what I say.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
And then have to go through gauntlet before you actually
get there. Like that the gauntlet that I'm talking about
talks or starts at week nine with.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Baltimore, Kansas City, Atlanta Raiders, Like maybe that helps a
little bit Cleveland like, but.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
At the same time, Raiders are an or a division rival.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
True to Dunver, it's always different. It's always always different.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
When it was always toss ups. It doesn't matter how
good that team is. That is a division rival, so
that's always a toss up.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
So now, yeah, you have to go through like you're
going to get New Orleans and Carolina before, but at
the same time, having to go through that while you're
already tired out, and then you still don't get to
buy until week fourteen.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I just I feel bad for the Broncos. I really do.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, Okay, okay, well let's uh, let's turn things around
a little and let's talk about the potential easier schedules here.
I'll go first, okay, and I'll say the Chargers. Okay, Now,
there's a couple knocks on their schedule. They have a
very early by week, which is opposite of what we

(09:12):
were just talking about with the Broncos.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
They have a week five by week.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Usually better to have it a little lower mid season
once you actually really need it and you need that
recovery time. And they're playing two of the toughest teams
obviously in the back half of the season, like a
lot Chiefs and Ravens.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
But let's get back.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
To why I think this is one of the the easier.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Yeah, it's.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Team as well, a little easier.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
I think they can open the season with three very
winnable games.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
It feels like it almost feels like they're they're easing
Jim Harbaugh back into the NFL because it's.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
A big deal that he's back here.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I think because they start with Raider Panthers, Steelers those
feel winnable. They could go into their week five bye
week three and one because they're playing the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
That's gonna be tough.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
If they don't start two and zero, then I think
we have something to worry about. But I can see
looking at their schedule at a hole I went through
and kind of who I think big losses could be too.
I could see them finishing the season ten and seven,
which after going five and twelve last season, would be
a huge success, doubling their wins.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah, the week five bye week is hard to that's hard.
It's so early because right, it's early, like there's I
think there's week four by weeks two. Now it's too
early because then because then you should be mid you
have to or like the NFL keeps expanding the schedule
obviously that there's seventeen games. You if they add one
more game, you have to have another buye.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
You have to have to.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's too much too, it's much too much.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
So yeah, I mean, because then you're finishing out week
six through eighteen, that's twelve weeks where you don't get
to buy.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
So I it's that's a lot.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Okay, that's a lot. Who do you have I'm.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Gonna stick with my the Chicago Bears, okay, given the
fact that they are playing a fourth place schedule, and honestly,
that matters more than ever because you now have three
games that depend on where you finish in your division.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
So now the Bears get a fourth play schedule, which.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Means like they get to play New England, the Patriots,
they get to play the Aarson, the Cardinals. I mean,
they're playing the entire NFC West actually this year. But
here's the thing. They also start with. They're playing the
AFC South. They start with three AFC South teams. Now,
Houston's not going to be a walk in the park.
That's a Sunday night game Week two see Astroud Young's

(11:52):
But up until you're week seven, by which is decent enough. Bye,
you have Tennessee, Houston, Indie, You have the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina,
and then Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
That Jacksonville game is in London.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
That is anything can kind of happen when it's overseas.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
But that is the easiest start for a rookie quarterback
that I think you can you could ever hope for.
And then on top of that, you don't even start
division play, which I think the NFC North is going
to be one of the toughest divisions in the league
this year. Is you don't start division play until Week
eleven against the Packers.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
Yeah, and then it's boom boom boom boom.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yes, and then and then it's but like when you
think about it that way, that kind of ease into everything,
like maybe by that out those rookie jitters, maybe he
has things figured out.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
That's my thought process.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Little is that in this situation.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Caleb william there's a lot of new on the Bears roster,
so Kayleb Williams, Shane Waldron, Roma Duneesa, this offense will
have a chance to gel against some lesser competition before
then hitting the end of the season where they're going
to get all of their division team.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Game two is going to be tough Sunday night football
against against Right but after like one of the one
of the best surprise teams for that and even.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
After your bye week Washington, we don't know what they're
going to be like at that point, that's only week eight.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Then you get Arizona in New.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
England and it should be helpful before then you start
Green Baby first, Yeah, you get Green.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
At home first.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
So that's that's one thing, especially if like if the
Bears could win that week twelve, week eleven game against
the Packers, have.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
They won at home?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Packers Packers owned the Bears in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Jordan Love has continued, so Aarons.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Rodgers, because I remember like Rogers Rogers, was that Aaron.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Rodgers, Yeah, that he he owns the city of Chicago,
and he did like that, I own you, I own
you with the discount double check. He had an eight
and no run to end his career with the Packers
against the Bears. And then Jordan Love swept the Bears
last year too. So the Bears have not won against
the Packers in ten games. I don't have their home
record off the top of my head right now, but

(14:00):
it's it's been a long time since you've seen the
Bears win against the Packers period, especially at home. So
if you could do that, the confidence boost that Caleb
Williams would.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Get insane, Oh my god, insane.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
But going to have it, but you're going to have
a really long runway before that.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Again, schedule makers doing some favors for the big names.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Now, I will say the one thing that surprises about
Chicago schedule though, is they're not on primetime as much
as I thought. They're only on primetime three times, four
times if you count Thanksgiving, and that's not even the
primetime slot. That's just you know, the whole world.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
You'll get flexed to primetime if you're doing that happened
last year where you can get flexed, if you can
get flex into Monday night, You've always been able to
get flexed into Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
So that there's a chance that if they get.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Doing well and there's such a big market, they have
a big audience.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
I feel like if they were going to max out
that six allotted six allowed primetime spots went.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Back, especially in the division games, like maybe one of
the Green Bay games, I mean the.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Last one is TBD, so like that problem.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Yeah, that's the Bears practice, which is always a good
which is always a good time, that's always one of
those is always usually in primetime anyway, And if yeah,
your home game against the Packers is that noon slot
in Chicago, that noon game, So I have to think
that ending the season, if those both those teams are
the Packers are vying for something, if the Bears are
vying for something that's going to be primetime we'll see.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Okay, ah, we obviously ran a little long on that,
so I'm going to jump to best social team videos
for the.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Front office people.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Some shine Like what a fun new thing we have
to look forward to during the schedule release. The social
teams I know play absolute sligh for me. Chargers won
the game. That's making it a SIMS game release. The
video when I checked last night, was at like thirty

(15:55):
seven million views on Twitter.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
They cooked every single team.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
They gave us some incredible Easter eggs, like putting Harrison
Butker or a butt kicker in the kitchen. We'll get
to him in the moment, but that was just absolutely incredible.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
It was like that meme in general, like somebody.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Cooked here, and it's like, yes, that's exactly what happened
with the Chargers is they cooked everything and they do it.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
They did it last year.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
They keep doing it in different by different using different ways.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
And the SIMS.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
I honestly, NFL Street is what Atlanta the Atlanta Falcons model.
There's after NFL Street And if you played that video game.
I played that video game back in the day, it
was amazing.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Real quick I want to give a shout out before
we move on to the next one to Ali Raymond,
who was the brains behind the Sims social video.

Speaker 5 (16:41):
Yes, she tweeted out for the like she did the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
She said sounds beforehand.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, she said, my parents told me playing the Sims
around the house all the time, but only wrot my
only wrought my brain jokes on them. Like so just
like I love moments like that, I do too.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
What do you have?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (16:58):
I noticed a trend this year, at least with a
couple teams, where it seems to be like, yeah, the
schedule release video is here. Here's this, Like we're not
gonna like BSU around, like, here's here's the schedule. Both
the Lions and the Dolphins did that. Lions it was
a little bit longer because they had Tim Robinson.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah that was a top three for me just because
I'm a big but they scrolled the schedule just like
it was like, yeah, here you go.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
And the Dolphins their video was like twenty seconds.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Honestly, I appreciate that though, because some of these videos
can get long. But I thought like NFL Street was
gonna be it the video games, and then when the
Charterers came to the Sames. I was like, this is
the only video soft computer game that could have beaten
out NFL Street. I want to give a shout out again,
Like I liked what the Bears did because of the
Easter eggs. Like, if you're gonna make the video long,
make it so that there's Easter egg to fine. So
the Bears did like a high school type of thing,

(17:49):
but it there was a nod to famous movies shot
in Chicago throughout the whole thing. Okay, so it was like, oh,
they used the burn bug from Me and Girls. Oh,
there's like they Spice Adams was like the principal or
the guy in Breakfast Club. And there was a lot
of Breakfast Club references. There's a lot of Ferris Bueller references.
All these very famous movies, Christmas Vacation Home Alone, all

(18:10):
these famous movies that were shot in Chicago. They turned
into this high school thing and they had it narrated
by Nick Miller. Who is the character that Jack Johnson,
Jake Johnson, I should say, plays on New Girl.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
He's from Chicago.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
He has an alternatio on New Girl called Julius Pepperwood.
You know from when Julius Peppers was on the Bears.
I thought it was very clever, very cute, and I
love finding those easter eggs.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
Love the easter eggs.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
Did you both watch the Ravens video? Yes, remind me
it's with his name Stavros. He's a comedian and he
got very big on Instagram and TikTok doing that Baltimore voice.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Baltimore voice, and like again, like yeah, the city.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
I love when there's meaningful. I'm gonna watch that in
the break. We got to take a quick break here,
but when we come.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Back, good job. Social teams, don't.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Tell me what to do. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (19:00):

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday of Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitali. We are broadcasting live from the Tire
dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and we're going to
take a deep breath before this segment here because one
of the crazier things we saw this week was chiefs
kicker Harrison Bucker give the most inappropriate, out of touch

(19:50):
graduation speech that was homophobic and demeaning to women. And
there was a line that made me think this was
a bit or a deep fake at first, Like I
thought this was a I laughed. You the women who
have been told the most diabolical lies told to you.
How many of you are here about to cross this
stage thinking about all the promotions and the titles that
you will get in your career. But I would venture

(20:12):
to guess most of you are excited about your marriage
and children and embrace your most important title, a homemaker.
Harrison Bucker, the audacity this man has to think he
could tell these young women who just spent tens of
thousands of dollars to get an education to follow their

(20:34):
life dream. This is probably the most satisfying days of
their life, seeing all their years of hard work and
studying come to this one moment, and you, as a man,
come and try to tell them the only thing that
is going to make them happy is to get married,
have children, and be a homemaker. F you, man, Like,

(20:56):
what year do you live in? Why do you think
you have the right to tell any female what to
do with her life, what to do with her body,
what's going to make her feel happy in life?

Speaker 5 (21:07):
This was so inappropriate, This was so tone deaf.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I felt like I was watching an episode of The
Handsmaid's Tale.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
It was so bad.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
The nuns from the Catholic college even came out and
put a statement distancing themselves from him, saying they don't
agree their values, don't agree with what he was trying
to say.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Here, hope as as a lifelong Catholic the Pope isn't
even this extreme.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
No, No, this was like, I get like gross feelings
all over my body.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Also, do you realize that one of.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
The best players on your team is dating the most
famous successful woman in the world.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Oh, he quoted her in the speech.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Taylor Swift is worth over one point one billion dollars.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
Take out Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
That's probably more money than your entire team combined makes.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
I should say he quoted one of her lyrics, which
came from a philosopher. It wasn't hers, but to invoke
her and then call her his teammate's girlfriend because all
that matters to him is that she's dating a man.
It was a master class, Harrison Bucker was a master

(22:16):
class in ignorance and privilege. Yes, for everyone, And I
want to talk to everybody saying, like, listen, if you
are a homemaker, that is an incredibly important job. Yes,
it's an incredibly important thing if you decide to do
that for your family, and you are able to do
that for your family, because not everybody is able. And
for everybody saying that, he was just emphasizing how important

(22:38):
motherhood is. And that's a reflection of your own ignorance
and privilege, because, like you said, to speak to accomplished
women like that in that setting and tell them essentially
that their accomplishments are based on lies that were told
to them, and that their life is not worth anything

(22:58):
until or if they rear children.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
It's laughable.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
He also has such high achieving women in his life.
His mother is a scientist, his sister was a college athlete.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Even his wife was.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
A college athlete before she decided to stay home, And
that is reducing a woman's value to whether or not
she rears children. Again, it degrades and demeans women to
know better than animals and reinforces that their lives are.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
For men to dictate.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
And speaking of these high achieving women too, as someone
who worked for an NFL team, yeah, how are the
women inside the Chiefs organizations supposed to feel?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
I don't know, Not only I don't know how like
any woman working with him as a professional within the
organization can not have really hard frustrating this is feeling.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Is this is very personal for me again because not
only has your team not come out and condemned these remarks,
but then the Chiefs own wife to be a Hunt,
Tava Hunt, and their their daughter, Gracie Hunt, both came
out in support of Harrison Bucker and his comments. And
that makes it so hard for me to stomach because

(24:13):
as a woman working for an organization, also, that's a
lot we're.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Working in sports.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
We are both full time working women who are in relationships.
I have been married with my husband, I'm coming up
on eighteen years and my job, my home life, everything
brings me so much joy.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
But my job, if it gives you purpose.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
It does, and that is okay if that is your
But here's the thing that why it makes it so
hard for me to stomach because you, now, if you
are a woman working for the Chiefs, you are working
for an organization that has an outward opinion that you,
I'm assuming most of these women do not agree. But
in that instance, when you work for an organization like that,

(24:55):
you don't have a voice, and so you have to
kind of just swallow it. And oftentimes in your personal
life you have to answer for it. And that's not
your fault and you, but the fact that this reverberates
onto you and you're the one that has to atone
for the attitudes and views of the people above you

(25:16):
without having a voice.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
It's a horrible feeling.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
I've been in that situation, yeah, and I've been one
of those people that's silenced and told you don't get
to have an opinion on this. You cannot put anything
on your social media, you cannot comment on it, you
cannot do any of that. Yeah, And it is the
worst feeling in the entire world to have your feelings invalidated,
your life's work invalidated, your choice, is your existence invalidated.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
And that is what Harrison Butker did. Yeah for so
many people.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
By Harrison butt Kicker, you are, That's what you are
to me. Now, led Nut, let's check it with Brian
Friendly and see what's trending.

Speaker 9 (25:53):
Yeah, what is trending is what's going on at the
BG Championship. It's the third round right now and Xander
Schaffles as your lead. He is at thirteen under overall
for the tournament, one under today through a nine hole,
so he is doing pretty well. Justin Thomas is at
nine under, but there is a two way time per second.
Shane Lowry and Colin Mori Kala both are twelve under.

(26:16):
And it's been a bumpy, rocky week for Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
As you know.

Speaker 9 (26:21):
Yesterday he was arrested for disregarding, along with other charges,
some signals from a traffic cop while working his way
to get to the grounds. But he currently Scotty Scheffler
is seven shots behind. He started the day three shots behind,
but he is six under today plus three through his

(26:41):
first nine. Had a couple of bogies and a double
as well, so not off to the greatest start the world.
Number one in golf right now, Caitlin Clark seemingly number
one in the form of what she is doing. From
an influencer and a basketball standpoint twenty two points her
today for her performance in the Fever, but they lost

(27:04):
on the road to the Liberty ninety one to eighty.
When it comes to basketball, don't forget that. Later on
today we've got a big time second round matchup in
the Association where it's going to be featuring the Dallas
Mavericks looking to close things out of the Game six,
and they will be visiting the OKC Thunder tip offs
at eight eastern. They're also at eight eastern. It's a

(27:25):
Game six in the second round out westn NHL postseason
play with the Edmonton Oilers looking to stave off elimination
as they look to force a Game seven. Canucks one
game away from advancing, and they are leading that series
three games to two. When it comes to lastly, what's
going on in baseball right now? A ton of games
are up and running. The Blue Jays have a ford

(27:47):
to nothing lead against the Rays top of the six.
There Raise have two outs runners on second and third. Currently,
Giants up early Ford to nothing against the Rockies. That's
in the bottom of the second while we do have
a final to get to. And it was an incredible
performance from Juan Soto who had two home runs in
a win for the Yankees as they make it six

(28:08):
games in a row. They have won with a six
to one victory over the White Sox and the Cubs
hold on one nothing against the Pirates in a game
that featured a combined nine hits. With that, yeah, let's
get it back to Carmen Vitally and Alex Curry.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
Thank you by those Cubs.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday and Alex Curry, who
with Carmen Vitali, we are broadcasting live from the Tyrock
dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and it is time
to bring in our first guest. She covers it all
here in LA for Spectrum Sports. She's a little ray
of sunshine. Please welcome my friend little Nikki.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Kay.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
What's up lady is how we live in on this Saturday.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yay, Nicky, thank you for taking the time in the
middle of m seeing an event right now?

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Seriously what yeah?

Speaker 6 (28:55):
Oh, I wouldn't miss it a chance to catch up
and talk with my two favorite women in sports. No, no,
thank you so much for having me on. I'm actually
at an incredible event here at UCLA, all raising money
to support multiple sclerosis research, and it's put on by
a former UCLA basketball player, Dunk. And that's if anyone's
interested in supporting and joining the cause.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
But so I love that, Yes, absolutely, I love that
so much.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
But Nokka, let's get to the WNBA because you've been
covering it now for a couple of years, but this
season has already felt like the biggest one yet. Take
us to La Sparks opening nine and just what you've
seen this week and the shift that you've seen this
year in the WNBA, just.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
It's right, Alex, and we saw it begin right with
that college women's college basketball season and then the Sparks
having their home opener, and I say home opener in
quotes because cryptom Arena has been under renovation and the
Sparks had to play their first two home games at
Long Beach State, which you know might as well be
in another country for ex it, right, But imagine this

(30:02):
Jim Kardashians showing up to the Los Angeles Sparks home
opener at Long Beach State with her daughter Norse and
like Magic Johnson sitting a couple of rows away from her,
I mean Leslie Jones in attendance. This is the type
of buzz this team. And we didn't even draft Caitlin Zark, right,

(30:24):
we got the two draft pick in Cameron Brings the
number four draft pickings Rakia Jackson. But what basically it
has I've been with this league is like the talent
is there, but right now the league is primed to
meet the moment of interest and excitement that this woman's
college basketball season and Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink created, right,

(30:45):
So it's really such an exciting time. I think there
would be some concern if you, you know, you had
these young college stars coming to infrastructure that wasn't prepared
for these influx f fans. But the w is ready
for the moment, and I think you're starting to see
not only excitement for in but investment and transformation in

(31:06):
the way the league is exposed and operating for professional women.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
It's so funny because I've been in the pyramid at
Long Beach State and it is just weird to have
all those people like show up the Stars show up
to Long Beach State is was a very funny visual,
but it's obviously not permanent.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
I here like seeing all of this too.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
I think Kaitlyn Clark had people thought that it was
a little bit of a disappointing debut, right initially, But
what as a strong sentiment. As I've heard, and as
I'm sure you already know Nikki from covering the league
for a while, it's.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Not that like Kaitlyn Clark is as good as we
think she is.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Yeah, it's just the.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
Talent in the WNBA is better than anyone realizes.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Would you agree with that sentiment?

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (31:54):
And right?

Speaker 6 (31:55):
What I have learned too with covering is that you know,
this isn't like this isn't like the NBA or the
NFL where you know, rookies some rookies with you know,
elite talent just immediately you know shine, it's because of
like do what you said, This this talent awaiting the
rookies in the w is sharp and ready, and they've

(32:19):
done their homework, They've done their preparation. So Caitlin Clark
is coming in the games where teams have already scouted her.
They're giving her all their attention, and plus she was
also the Indiana Fever, where the you know, we're drafting
number one for a reason, right, they don't have a
great team. So that's what people need to understand, is
that she is coming into a team that wasn't equipped

(32:41):
for a lot of success. That's why. And then they're
going up against like two of the toughest stall wars
in the W already in you know, New York and Connecticut.
So it's all about having patients and then hopefully this
franchise can put the talent around her. But you know,
I did hear Colin Coward say something very interesting on
your airwaves just yesterday in the sense that you don't

(33:05):
want the w to waste this moment, right, Caitlin Clark
can't become irrelevant on a terrible team. So you hope
that the league does everything at dam her into a
position of success because even though she's putting up twenty two,
you know, she's still getting blown out and that's no fun.

Speaker 10 (33:21):
You want to see her wins.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yeah, I agree, the league didn't do any favors for
the Fever getting in. Now another big name, Angel Reese,
huge game changer in the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Now college graduate.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
She just grad.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
That she got some pushback for attending the met gala
the day before a preseason game.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
I personally thought it was a great look for the league.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
We also see the Skims campaign with Cameron Brinks, who's
on the LA Sparks really just empower these women. How
do you see these brands coming in and helping the
game grow?

Speaker 6 (33:56):
Absolutely, And it's it's so interesting, right because it's like
now on my phone, like Kim Kardashian reposting the students
campaigns of w NBA players. It's insane. And the growth
and exposures are like, we know, as ladies how to
market ourselves. And I think, what's so relevant about these
rookies coming in? And maybe you know, Cameron even joked

(34:18):
about it. She's like, I think, you know some of
the vets that could help them with their TikTok presence.

Speaker 10 (34:23):
She gets it.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
You see them.

Speaker 6 (34:25):
She's walking into Long Beach State to the Pyramid, strutting
her stuff in exactly like and I say, streating herself
obviously applauding like I'm not, you know, yeah, And you
know they're turning the tunnel locks into fashion shows, which
it took men a couple of decades to figure out.

(34:47):
Right with these these women understand it. And you know
the Angel reeves at the met Gala. It's interesting. I
first of all, like with the criticism that came about.

Speaker 10 (34:58):
I'm like the fact that we're.

Speaker 6 (35:00):
Talking about women's sports in a you know, right, it's athletes.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
That is such a hard invite to get, right, you
feel like the most like elite invite to get.

Speaker 6 (35:13):
And we love debate. So the fact that we're debating
about women's sports is awesome, and you know, that's right.
And and but then I think, you know, hey, those
I think was it the Giants players who got flack
for being on a boat in Miami?

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Like since then?

Speaker 10 (35:28):
Yes, right, So.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
It's kind of you want to hold, you know, athletes
to the same standard. But I think the W is
also leaning into this moment where it's like, yes, have
Kim k in those arts locker room, even though they lost,
take all the pictures, take you know, give North a gift. Right,
It's we we are changing the narrative and changing the
way coverage happens, and you have to ride the momentum.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
I love it. So much, Nikki, thank you so much
for joining us.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Enjoy the rest of your event. Keep crushing it.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Rock On, ladies.

Speaker 6 (36:01):
Such a privilege to chat with you as always. And Carmen,
welcome to I know this is officially official, so here
in the moment not for you, girlfriend, I'm so excited
to listen and tune in you. You women are incredible
and your powers.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
I love it. I love you, Nikki, Thank you bye.
All right when we come back.

because my computer is completely crashed. Oh good, are our
board op producer? Our board op PC is.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Completely okay, okay, well let's let's keep with this. Keep
it rocket, Let's keep it rocket. Literally yes, please, And
you know what it's time for? It is time for
the dues and the dons in sports. High I love
that putting a spotlight on the don't the subject brings
me no joy.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
That's insane.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
It's time for the dues and the dons in sports.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
That's that's insane. All right.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
I'm going to start with a do here, and it's
kind of like rolling on the theme that we were
just talking about. Will nickay, but do support women's sports.
The city of Las Vegas is sponsoring each Vegas Aces
player one hundred thousand dollars each. All they have to
do is play and keep representing Vegas.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
And they said, you know, a three P would only
be icing on the cake.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
But they're literally just sponsoring each player, giving them one
hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
I love it, Oh, I love it so much.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
I want the video.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Easy to just wrap Vegas.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Actually Vegas that like every casino probably makes one hundred
thousand dollars, Like every like.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Two hour every minute.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
I really smart on Vegas's part mine.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
Okay, do have your three little drinks because I have
a three drink girly. Same apparently so is Lebron James
little three drink girly. He was ourt side at the
Cleveland Cavaliers game and he had a water, a coffee
cup and his own wine which is Total Flex, right
under his seat on the court.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
And I was like, he just liked me for real.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
Yeah, like I you need the you need the upper,
you need the chiller, and then you need the hydration.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
And so at home that's what I here. I have,
like I have my Riot Energy Drink. I have my water,
my Accountability water bottle that tells me my let's start.

Speaker 5 (38:51):
You're doing great, remember your goal? Almost there? You did it?

Speaker 4 (38:54):
Oh, I just have my I have a basic Stanley water. Yeah,
and I have I have a I have an iced tea.
I have the Energy Drink on Away.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (39:01):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
I loved mynim I love it. Okay, another do do
take care of your parents? Ram's wide receiver. Pokanakua surprised
his mom with a new car. I think it was
right around Mother's Day and he shared how much his
mom did for him and his family, especially after his
dad passed away. She like, he said that she was

(39:23):
always his strength and this was just a little something
he could do to give.

Speaker 5 (39:26):
Back to her.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
In the tears between both of them, Like, that's such
a that's such a goal, Like to make it and
then take.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
Care of your parents.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Get to have one of those soul Yeah, the red
ribbon moment, like right on the hood of the car,
it was so cute.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
He's like showing her how to use it when they
got in there. It was so cute.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
That's so cute.

Speaker 4 (39:45):
I also have a do okay, and that's do celebrate
your accomplishments.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
Yes, especially as a woman.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
Yeah, you are a homemaker, whether you are radio co hosts,
whether you decide to get your doctorate, whether you decide
to be a career server or work construction or do
whatever the hell you want to win, you are validated
and you.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Matter and your accomplishments.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
Now, I love celebrating.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
This is like a new thing I started doing, celebrating
the little wins, celebrating like little happy moments in life.
I'm like, every day is a celebration. Let's go, Let's
go let's cheers to it, Let's.

Speaker 5 (40:28):
Have a good time.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
You decide to do your life is yours?

That's safety runs First dot Com.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
All right, we're going to start this hour with a
little bit of the PGA Championship situation, the WTF crazy
chaotic moment Friday morning, and Scottisheffler's arrest.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
Now, for those of you who.

Speaker 2 (42:32):
Are a little unfamiliar with the situation, the world's number
one golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested after a misunderstanding with
traffic flow on his way to the course very early,
still dark out Friday morning. Now understand, there was a
horrific accident that had just happened but before Scotty get there,

(42:53):
so there was that heartbreaking, crazy situation that everybody like
hearts go out to the family like it's unimaginable. But
Scotty was on his way to play, driving himself in
a rental car, and he said he was proceeding as

(43:13):
directed by the police officers. It was a very chaotic situation,
understandably considering the tragic accident that occurred earlier, and there
was a big misunderstanding of what he thought he was
being asked to do. He said he never intended to
disagree with any of the instructions, but ended up in
jail before being released and making it back to the

(43:33):
golf course for his tea time. But then he spoke
to the media after all of this, kind of explaining
his morning.

Speaker 11 (43:41):
I was just so confused at what was happening at
the time that you know, I didn't know what time
it was, I didn't know what was going on, but
when I was sitting in like the holding cell or
whatever I was, there was a TV there and I
could see myself on the TV on ESPN and it
was Get Up was on, and so in the corner
it showed the time and they said they were delayed,
and I was kind of thinking about my tea time.
I was like, well, maybe you know, I could be

(44:02):
able to get out. You know, the officers downstairs and
you know, they were they were discussing how long it
was going to take me to get released. You know,
obviously you have to go through all the due process
and everything, and you know, I was able to kind
of see a bit of the TV, and you know,
then I laid down and then I started to stretch
a little bit, once I got my heart rate down
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Could you imagine you are the number one golfer in
the world and you're.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
In a holding cell doing stretches while you watch yourself
on team.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
You're watch it like you're literally learning what's happening and
how you can get out as you're in jail stretching everything.
Like my question to the PGA, how does how do
you not have a ride or a car service for
your top players? Every other sport, every other sport that
I've been involved in. If you're not at home, there

(44:49):
are buses or car services to get the athletes to
and from.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
Even there, even if you are at home, it can
really us ted.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
Coaches get police esc yeah, like some of the major players,
Like so if you have.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Even when I was doing college football on Fox sideline,
we had the police escorts getting to and from the field.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
Yes, yeah, I know. It's it's wild for athletes to
not have a streamlined way to get there. And this
this kind of added some levity to the situation. This
quote from Scotti Scheffler. The memes have been phenomenal. Have
you seen the video of him walking down the hill
to many men by fifty cent?

Speaker 3 (45:28):
It's perfect.

Speaker 4 (45:30):
And now, I mean Scotti Scheffler has to have the
most street cred of any golfer ever.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
I mean, he's off to a little bit of a
slow start today.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
What's that? What's that sacrifice?

Speaker 5 (45:43):
Understandable? Understandable?

Speaker 2 (45:46):
I mean there's also I mean there's a much deeper
conversation to be had a year of the history of
the Louisville Police. Hopefully the silver lining from this whole
situation is that. I hope it opens people's eyes, especially
white people who aren't used to be in a situation
like this. That was that you kind of see, this
is what happens on a regular basis.

Speaker 4 (46:08):
That was That was the other side of the coin
to me. For this was like, there's a racial aspect
that I'm not qualified to speak on. No, but this
kind of police overstep is something that marginalized groups in
society have a disproportionate experience with. Yeah, and unfortunately, maybe
this is something that makes more people.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
Open their eyes and like, oh, if this can happen
like to this wealthy, white number one golfer in the.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
World, it's sad that it takes that.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
But yeah, imagine now now can you believe everything else
that has been going down? So what a crazy Like, Yes,
that was nuts. Everything about that yesterday was just like,
is this for real? He's in jail, there's a mugshot. Okay,
let's go. Oh, he's back on the golf course. Let's go, Well,
what a story?

Speaker 3 (46:53):
What a story?

Speaker 2 (46:54):
Okay, let's get back to some football, because we did
not get to finish a couple of our bits from conversation. Yeah,
from the schedule release. Okay, and one of those was
being our Super Bowl saves.

Speaker 5 (47:10):
Okay, I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
Start in the AFC here because until they prove me otherwise,
I have to have the Chiefs in their Super Bowl saves.
Even on their down season last year, they still won
it all. Now they have a couple of things working
against them. They have two of the toughest games right
out of the gates with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Joe Burrow in the Bengals looking for his bounce back season.

(47:34):
We did hear Travis Kelsey talk about how he likes
to get the tough matchups out of the way early
while your body's still fresh, because because films that are
just getting like beat up, like Williams.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
That is the essential thirty something common coming out of Travis.

Speaker 3 (47:51):
Everything hurts, everything hurts, then you're dying. No, I yes.

Speaker 4 (47:55):
And also, I mean we don't know what's what they
fall out from the Rashi Rice situation is going to be.
I mean, he's been in some legal trouble this offseason
and that is their number one receiver at this point,
so by yeah, we're going to see how that all
plays out.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
But they still have Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelcey.
They do have this drama with butt kicker going on.
If you didn't listen to earlier, that's just what I'm
calling Harrison now.

Speaker 5 (48:19):
But yeah, I got I got Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
But then also the Lions, Like if we're talking about
NFC saves, like they were kind of the quote surprise
team last year. I say in quotes, because like they
were like projected to be great and they were great.
They were able to keep their big names and their coaches.
They paid Jared Goff like everywhere he goes now he's

(48:42):
getting chance, Like yeah, he's just like it feels like
everything is kind of come together.

Speaker 4 (48:52):
Sure for the Lions, I also had them as my
Super Bowl favorites. I honestly, I think that there is
a more like a really good chance that one of
these teams in the NFC North ends up in the
Super Bowl, whether it's the Lions, whether it's Packers even
and our good friend is going to join us in
a second. He actually for the NFL on Fox podcast,
his super Bowl prediction is the Green Bay Packers, which

(49:15):
I think is real fun.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
But also Jordan Love in his second full season taking
the Packers, I mean they.

Speaker 4 (49:20):
Made us to the initial round in the first year
with the Lake's youngest team, and day Jordan Love's.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
First year is starting he blue its predecessor's first year
out of the water. Love it, he did.

Speaker 4 (49:29):
But I do agree with you with the Lions because
of the fact that not only do they have all
the tangible things on paper, right, Yeah, they have the
good They have a they have great roster. They filled
all those holes this offseason. Everybody paid, everybody, everybody.

Speaker 3 (49:43):
Has that incentive to work.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
You have you're gonna feel a complete secondary because Brad
Holmes was like, I'm gonna take a corner at every
possible turn I.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
Can, and he did.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
I also, though, think that the Lions have the intangible
that makes Super.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
Bowl teams go.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
When you think of Super Bowl teams, you think of
these guys that have a belief in themselves. They're very cohesive,
but then they also have a gigantic chip on their shoulder.
Oh and if you don't think Dan Campbell after that
had a situation that you don't think that if Dan
Campbell is going to remind them every second of every
day this season that they were within one half of

(50:23):
the Super Bowl last year and had it ripped away
from them. You got another thing coming, man. Dan Campbell
will use this as fuel for the entire season. Every
player will use this as fuel for the entire season.
I was in that locker room after they lost the
NFC Championship game in San Francisco and Santa Clara. Yeah,
every single player that was also in.

Speaker 5 (50:42):
One of the Easter egg from the Rams.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
So it's like San Francisco, Nope, Santa Clara.

Speaker 4 (50:48):
Uh, every single player in that Lion's locker room was Peo.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
I know.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
I'm learning. I cannot say the actual word on national.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
Radio Get Catch Pod, Like I talked to Penney Sewell. Yeah,
like alex Anzeloni, their linebackers got paid.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
He now they're like the richest contract for an old lineman.
We love it. Honestly.

Speaker 4 (51:10):
They all have blood. They were They're out for blood. Yeah,
So I.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
Think the Lions can make there.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
And then on the other side, I'm going real hipster
with the Super Bowl matchup. Guys, Okay, I I thought
about the Chiefs, but as my own personal defiance, I think, okay,
let's go. I Also, who is the one person that
the Chiefs had not had had that Patrick Mahomes in particular,
has not had an answer for in a duel Joe
Burrow and Joe Burrow is supposed to be healthy this

(51:37):
year and as long as his risk comes back, und
I know that.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
There's like the health issue Kenny bounce back. They did
lose some guys. Did they get fill every knee that
they like?

Speaker 12 (51:46):
They do?

Speaker 4 (51:47):
But like I think they have an underrated defense. Trey Hendrickson,
who had the trade request, did come out and kind
of clarify and say, no, I want to be here,
but I also want to be paid for it. So
I hope that they make that right. And if they
do and we get a healthy Joe Burrow and a
Jamar Chase who is doing another contract.

Speaker 5 (52:03):
In a year.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
Is I I want Bill or I want Bengals Lions
super Bowl in New Orleans?

Speaker 5 (52:11):
I mean I would.

Speaker 2 (52:13):
I would love to see Bengals make it back to
the super Bowl. Like they're a fun, spicy team when
they're clicking.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
I think if they came down to stay healthy like
Burrow has down to.

Speaker 4 (52:24):
The AFC Championship game again with Joe Burrow on one
patch Mahomes on the other.

Speaker 5 (52:30):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
So then like best rematch game that you have like
for this season.

Speaker 5 (52:37):
So that's like because I I also kind.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Of have Chiefs Ravens Week one AFC Championship rematch game
right out of the Gates Lions Cowboys Week six, big
revenge game for the Lions, and then Chiefs forty nine
ers like Week seven.

Speaker 5 (52:54):
Those are ones that I'm like, yeah, I'm.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Gonna keep, I'm going to go.

Speaker 4 (52:58):
I'm going to keep the hipster by going because I
actually had the Lions also as one of my favorite
matches because they opened with the Los Angeles Rams week one.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
So it's a.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
Rematch of the wildcard round between Matthew Stafford and Jared
Goff after Jared Goff just got pay Yeah.

Speaker 7 (53:13):
That's a matchup where it's like, clearly the Lions want
to honor Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 5 (53:17):
That bad blood.

Speaker 7 (53:18):
There was some bad blood from that wild card game,
like Strams players rhumat at Kirby Joseph two. Like it's
a lot of Stafford put out that documentary over the
off season where he's talking about his kids being booed
in Detroit. That's not gonna go away. In Week one
on the first Sunday Night Football of the game, Prime
Time people drink in Detroit, drinking all day, that's not Oh, and.

Speaker 4 (53:37):
I will say that the crowd did also cheer, so
like like it was like one of those they cheered
for him and then they boot him though when it
was time for like game time and stuff.

Speaker 10 (53:47):
Yah.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
That's that was my experience with Tom Brady when we
went back to New England.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Yeah, that's fair, that's fair. You're gonna make emotions.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Did you also see the rams and there's schedule release
had Stafford Field?

Speaker 4 (53:57):
Yes, when they put it on this, but it wasn't
because Thes won that game.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
Yeah, so it was.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
I think that's a really fun way to start this
season and again can add to that chip on the
shoulder that the Lions are going to happen.

Speaker 6 (54:09):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
I mean, the NFL did a good job helping helping
put together some big matchups out of the gates, but
then also helping some like new and big names out
and I think the Bears and Caleb Williams are one
of them. We talked about off the top of the show.
He has a good opportunity to get off to a
great start. Doesn't have to play a division game till
week eleven because those are going to be as tough

(54:31):
as games facing Green Bay November seventeen, then faces them
the rest of the season and hopefully has his rookie
jitters out of the way there.

Speaker 4 (54:39):
But for six weeks or he gets the Lions on winnable,
winnable games.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
And remember this why this is such a big deal
for Chicago.

Speaker 5 (54:49):
They've never had that guy at quarterback.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
They've never had a quarterback throw more than four thousand
yards in a season, never had a quarterback throw more
than thirty touchdown passes in a season.

Speaker 5 (55:00):
This has to work for the Bears. This is like
what happens if you just want and I'll.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Take that one step further. Yeah, do you know the
Bears rookie records for quarterbacks?

Speaker 5 (55:10):
No, tell me more.

Speaker 4 (55:11):
Tell me eleven touchdowns, twenty two hundred yards less than twenty.
If Tayler Williams passes for twenty two hundred yards and
passes for more than eleven touchdowns, people have broken the
Chicago Bears rookie quarterback records. That is where I want
to start with the Chicago Bears for my expectations for
this season. Okay, let's go, because I want them to

(55:32):
start just step by step I realize that we have conflated.
You know, everything has to be black and white now right,
like there's no gray area. It's like either the Bears
the worst thing in the world or they're going to
go to the Super Bowl. Bears fans do not help themselves.
They are all aboard this hype train. And I understand
why because the on paper, Ryan Poles has spent three
years curating this team and this roster. That means three

(55:54):
years of culture building and which is so important to
Mattie Aberflues. You now bring in an offensive coordinator that
has a track record in Seattle. Now, I know that
he left the Rams for a reason and all that
kind of stuff, but there he also worked with Caleb
Williams as far back as there's a video of him
working with Kayla Williams in twenty seventeen as part of

(56:16):
the Quarterback Collective, which is a group that they have
different quarterback camps and different quarterback training opportunities for younger quarterbacks.
Kayleb Williams himself has been training since he was a child,
saying he wanted to be the number one pick in
the NFL draft and then he was Yeah, so you
get this new coordinator that has a track record for
getting the most out of multiple quarterbacks. And then you

(56:37):
bring in the best quarterback that you could have possibly
gotten in this class, who happens to be one of
the best quarterback prospects in the last few years. Yeah,
you insert him into a experienced, infused offense which has
djmore who you got last year. But now you add
Keenan Allen to that. Oh and then you also add
Roma Dunsa with the ninth overall pick, and they already

(56:57):
have chemistry, already have chemistry. And this is for now
and the future. You have Cole Comet at tight end.
You now invested more on the offensive line. You're gonna
have an experience center in front of Caleb Williams that
can take some stuff off of his plate. On top
of that, you should be able to continue your momentum
from last year on defense, where you were the last
eight games of the season arguably the best defense in

(57:17):
the league at least top five.

Speaker 5 (57:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
So now all of that.

Speaker 4 (57:22):
Is to say, you then get the schedule. Yeah, and
the schedule comes out and you have winnable games.

Speaker 5 (57:28):
Winnable for the first until you're bye week, first weeks
for six weeks. You don't have to.

Speaker 4 (57:32):
Face what could be the most tough division in football
until week starting in week eleven. Yeah, you guys, by
that point, you hopefully have started to gel and your
receivers know Caleb, and Caleb knows them, and they know
what makes each other tick and what works and what doesn't.
This is a dream scenario for the Chicago Bears, and
as a lifelong Chicagoan, that makes me nervous.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
I mean, it's gonna be Week eleven on is gonna
be tough. Green Bay, Minnesota, Detroit forty nine Ers, Minnesota, Detroit, Seattle,
Green Bay. That is one heck of a finish to
the season.

Speaker 4 (58:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you should be able to kind
of handle it. And that's that's a test for what's
going forward, because you know what, the Lions aren't getting
any weaker. Nope, the Packers aren't getting anything. We both
have them at Super Bowl bab Minnesota is going to
continue to ascend as well if this all goes to
j McCarthy. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
So, I mean he has a national like he's a naddie,
like he's like at home, he's.

Speaker 4 (58:32):
Yeah, and he's got a really good support system around.
You want to talk about a situation that's set up
to develop a quarterback, You're going to talk about Minnesota. Yeah,
so by the time Caleb and the Bears even get
to Minnesota, which the first their first game is week eleven,
right after that Green Bay game, you could be seeing
JJ McCarthy under center.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Just the back half of the season like all division rivals.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
But it's all set up though, for the Bears to
get off to a hot start, to get Caleb Williams
confidence going, and then so help the city of Chicago.
If Caleb Williams and the Bears beat Green Bay at
home week eleven, please do, Oh my god, the city
will act like they want a super Bowl, and honestly,
that will be their super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (59:13):
That's that is part of that step by step process that.

Speaker 5 (59:15):
Will be like, this is a new era.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
Have Caleb Williams break those records, get to a winning record,
beat the g D Packers. That soundm censoring myself today, Guys,
we had.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
To slip up last week, but nobody cares. It's fine,
just us now, We're both.

Speaker 5 (59:32):
Like, what am I gonna say?

Speaker 2 (59:35):
All Right, We're gonna take a quick break here, but
when we come back tomorrow is gonna be on epic
day of Game seven's you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Everything at Alex on a score Curry at KRMI V.
You guys, NBA playoffs have not disappointed. We are getting
two Game sevens.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Potentially three depending on what happens tonight tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
Like this is going to be epic, you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Pacers beating the Knicks last night a lot of fun history.
Here is the first Game seven for the New York
Knick since ninety five, eighth all time at MSG.

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Yeah, I think that, and they've only had three.

Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Right, Yeah, I mean each team has won their home
game in this series, so looking good for the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
Pacers have been one and five on the road this postseason.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
But I want to talk about the West and the
most dramatic series I think that we have seen so far,
and that is Denver and the team.

Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
Oh my gosh, what a top turn of the tie.

Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
What Like, right out of the gates, it looked like
the t Holves were gonna just like cake walk Denver
after they just did that to the Lakers. And after
Game two, people were saying, like Denver was done. We
had live moods on here, like just like I don't know,
maybe this is what it's gonna like, what's gonna go down?
But then Denver woke up and it's kind of been
that back and forth battle.

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
I mean, but that beat down on Denver in Game six,
fifteen to seventy.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Losing a clinching game and embarrassing fashion by forty five
points the worst playoff loss in Nuggets franchise history.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
It has to be one of the worst playoff losses
by any team ever.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
I mean, it was the second largest win in an
elimination game ever.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
Like there was just they're giving us everything.

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
There was something that live Moods said to us that
we talked to her because she, yeah, last week when
she talked about I think it was actually after Game
three when the Nuggets did wake up, and she was
talking about how Jokic something that she noticed from him
that game where he was facilitating more. That's what they
needed him to do because clearly the t Wolves had
locked up Yokic and his scoring attempts. But now if

(01:02:06):
he can kind of facilitate spread the ball around, you
can't stop everybody, no, And so that's what kind.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
Of has been the difference.

Speaker 4 (01:02:12):
And when you look at those first two games where
Yoki is trying to do it all himself and then
these last few games where he's he's wheeling and dealing.
He's what last night we had twenty two points, he
had nine rebounds. Yeah, and now you're like he's helping
out the team kind of as a facilitator.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Well, it's also I mean against the Lakers, they just
got off to slow starts, and that's why, like the
Lakers had the lead at half in almost every game,
and then they would just come back in the third
quarter and end up winning in the four Yeah, we're
not letting that happened.

Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
Wolves were like, oh you're going to do that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
No, you're not that here, not here, I said, not today,
not today.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Maybe that's going to be such an epic day, Tomorro
Game sevens. But now let's check in with Brian Finley
and see what's trending.

Speaker 5 (01:02:54):
Yes, yes, here we go, and we've got the PG
going on and a lot going on round.

Speaker 9 (01:03:01):
Three as well as we have Xander Shaffle, who is
your leader at fourteen under. He's got a one shot lead,
he is through twelve holes. Colin Marikawa and Shane Lowry
both in a tie for second, both at thirteen under.
By the way, Shane Lowry his sixty two today, a
nine under sixty two. That's the lowest single round of

(01:03:23):
a major ever. Never before have we've seen anybody score
better than a sixty two in any major, in any
particular round. Scotty Scheffler, by the way, he seems to
be cratering and going in the wrong direction down the leaderboard.
Obviously you were talking about all of the situations.

Speaker 5 (01:03:40):
Situation.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Yeah, you got to imagine it's taking a toll. It's
like all settling in today.

Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
It is because yesterday he played rather.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Well well you kind of it's almost like you're in
shock and you're like like, just don't he don't even
or not even like fully comprehending what it happened.

Speaker 5 (01:03:54):
You're like in survival mode.

Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
And then after a day at home and sleeping and
letting it kind of marinate, like you have to imagine
up like oh my gosh, I'm in some legal.

Speaker 9 (01:04:03):
Stuff with all this too, and you can't help but
look at your phone and everybody's texting you, people who
are in your corner and what they're saying, and yeah,
he just needs.

Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
To play himself that meme that's going around of him
like walking to many men by fifty cent and like,
I mean that hipes me up, man, Like I don't
know how that doest.

Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
What hipes both of you going into a show, Like
what is the music? We dance? We dance, We have
like really good we carpool to work.

Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
It's really fun. I pick up I pick up Carmen
at our house. I beep, I'm here, come on it,
and we have like a full dance party. We should
actually do like we should have a camera set up
and show like our like little dance like we're full
carpool like carry.

Speaker 5 (01:04:39):
Is it the same music every noight, Okay, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Just like happy vibes, whatever the vibe is that day.

Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
I'm a huge DM girl, So I.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
Like everything, Like I like rock, classic EDM, like house like.

Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
You in a country, like heavy gangster rap to little
rufous do soul, you know, like.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Loud Luxury is one of my fing Robin Schultz.

Speaker 5 (01:05:02):
Oh yeah, a lot of time, a lot of good news.
Crek carpool, Crek carmc carpool is really fun.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
We'll see.

Speaker 5 (01:05:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:05:09):
By the way, Yeah, so Scottie Scheffler double st I
get that right, yeah, double s. So he is eight
shots behind right now. So he started the day three
shots behind and then he has fallen all the way down,
so he is out of contention here the world number
one golfer. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark had twenty two points in

(01:05:29):
a loss today for her fever at the Liberty. We're
also hearing you all were talking about this earlier. The WNBA,
according to ESPN, is now investigating the Las Vegas Tourism Board.

Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
Yeah, giving in the sponsorship. Well that's the goal.

Speaker 9 (01:05:46):
But they said, as you were saying each Las Vegas
Ace player is going to get one hundred thousand dollars
this season. However, there was something like this that they
were saying happened with the La Sparks last year that
involved extra benefits, and so I think they just want
to sort through some of that noise to see if
there's anything funny business going on.

Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:06:05):
Yeah, if they use each of their name, image and
likeness like that's yeah, they're paying for that.

Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
That's what they're paying for. Love, good deed goes unpunished.

Speaker 9 (01:06:13):
Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. And then lastly, I'll just
two quick things really quick. And we got Jason Hart
who obviously playing for or excuse me, Josh Hard, I
beg your pardon with the New York Knicks, and he
suffered an abdominal strain this according to the Athletics. So
he's trying to play Game seven for the Knicks, in
that decisive Game seven against the Pacers, but his status
is unclear. And then lastly, the Preakness Stakes coming up

(01:06:36):
in a little bit over an hour the second leg
of the trip the Triple Crown. Could we see Mystic Dan,
the Kentucky Derby winner, pick up the second leg as well. Well,
we'll have to see with that. Let's get it back
to Alex Curry and Karmavially.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Thank you, Brian. You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm
Alex Curry here with Carmen Vitally. We are broadcasting live
from the Tirek dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Thank
you for spending your Saturday afternoon with.

Speaker 5 (01:07:02):
Carmee and me.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
And it is time to bring in our next guest,
the host of NFL on Fox podcast. You see him
on Speak on FS one all the time. Our dear friend,
please welcome Dave Helmen.

Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
Yay, Dave.

Speaker 10 (01:07:15):
Hey, y'all.

Speaker 5 (01:07:16):
Hi, Hi, oh Dave.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
We've been talking a lot of NFL today, We've been
talking a lot of schedule release. So I'm just gonna
go forward to you.

Speaker 5 (01:07:26):
Okay, We're gonna go right year. We compared it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
I compared it to kind of like off the off
the top of the show, like maybe like when a
Taylor Swift album comes out, and like there's this like
countdown to the release and then everybody like us yes and.

Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
To make a plan and if anybody knows what that's
in reference to the movie quote, I will love you
forever get at me on Twitter and tell me what
you think it is, because I guarantee you your most.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Now we're obsessing over each song, each lyric. We're breaking
it down. So Dave, as the Cowboy Man, do you
think Dak and the Cowboys are set up for success
based on their schedule?

Speaker 10 (01:07:59):
I don't think the Cowboys are set up as well
as they could be regardless, But you know what it
actually that is as an interesting point. It was something
I was talking about earlier this week, which is, look,
I think the Cowboys are in trouble relative to the
obvious expectations. You know, twenty seven years since they've been

(01:08:19):
to a Super Bowl. We all know all of that stuff,
and I don't think that this is going to be
the year that they break it. But it is interesting.
I do think the narrative gets carried away a little bit.
I do still think the Cowboys are a playoff team.
I think they're a good team. And I was actually
looking I was looking at their schedule. You know, they
opened with Cleveland. I was looking at it. I was like, yeah,

(01:08:41):
this is pretty favorable. Like I see this as a
ten or eleven win team, probably as long as everyone
stays healthy. Is that going to get them back to
the Super Bowl? I really doubt it, but looking over
the schedule was kind of an interesting reminder that I
was like, oh, wait, yeah, the Cowboys still have like
seven All pros on their team. They're still a very
good team. I just don't know if they're good enough

(01:09:03):
to get to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Will Dak Prescott be a Cowboy after the season though,
that's the two.

Speaker 10 (01:09:10):
Hundred plus million dollar questions. Yeah, it's it's hard to say,
but I lean more toward no than I ever have.
And this is it's something we've talked about a lot, which.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Is, yeah, you and I have especially talks about.

Speaker 10 (01:09:26):
Yeah, yeah, Carmon and I talk about this stuff all
the time, and like it's it's just crazy to think
how much leverage Dak Prescott really holds in my opinion,
because the Cowboys can't tag him when the season's over,
they can't trade him. They either have to pay him
or let him go. And what's crazy is Dak is
he's turning thirty one this summer. He's coming off the

(01:09:47):
best year of his career. I would guess, you know,
with Cebee lambback for another go around, I would guess
he's going to have a really good year on an
individual level again, and so the Cowboys could offer him
top of the market money and it still might not
be good enough if Dak would rather test the market,
because how often do you see a quarterback in his

(01:10:08):
prime hit unrestricted free agency? It very rarely happens. And
the appeal of having two or three teams bidding over
him it might just be too intriguing to pass up. So,
you know, maybe the Cowboys make him an amazing offer
before the season starts, and everybody dines it and everybody's
happy with it. But I really I start to wonder

(01:10:31):
if the appeal of being available to everybody is gonna
weigh too heavily on Dak and maybe this really is
his last year's out.

Speaker 4 (01:10:40):
I think it would be hysterical if, you know, it
comes out the Cowboys did offer him top of the
market money. He's like, hh, I'll pass that.

Speaker 10 (01:10:48):
We talked about this crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
It's like, yeah, no more buy They're.

Speaker 10 (01:10:53):
Like, hey, we'll pay you sixty million dollars And Dak
could be like, yeah, but I want all of it guaranteed,
or I one ninety percent of it there or I
just want.

Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
To go to a place where I actually feel like
I'm set up for success and I'm not having to
face all of these external pressures and all of these
distractions that come with.

Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
Being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
Underneath Jerry Turns or the Jones family, I should say,
I want to talk to you about another little well
pet of yours. We jokingly refer to him as your
son because you went to LSU and won them and
Natty Joe Burrow I earlier, yeah, yeah, we call him
Dave's son.

Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
Love that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
His very very accomplished Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
Good good work. Father.

Speaker 4 (01:11:36):
I I said earlier in the show that I think
my Super Bowl prediction was Lion's Bengals because this is
I didn't want to really give. I don't like betting
against the Chiefs, but given everything that's happened in the
last week, I just didn't. I just didn't feel like
putting them on that pedestal. And who's been able to
knock Patch myhomes and the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (01:11:57):
Off their pedestal when he's healthy, When he's.

Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
Healthy, But Joe Burrow, So what do you think we
can expect from Joe Day and the Bengals this year.

Speaker 10 (01:12:04):
So everyone that went to l s U is my son.

Speaker 12 (01:12:08):
But a lot of go like great, A, I'm sorry
to continue.

Speaker 10 (01:12:19):
Okay, it's okay, No Joe, Joe. I have huge expectations
for what the Bengals are capable of this year, because
it's just it's easy to forget about the guy that
wasn't there. And obviously Joe got hurt in November and
the second half of the season was a slog for
the Bengals. Keep in mind, they still finished nine and eight.

(01:12:39):
They still finished with a winning record despite Jake Browning
starting a lot of games for them. There's a lot
of talent on that roster. And Carmen, you and I
talked about this, like I used to roll my eyes
at the whole idea of first place schedule versus fourth
place schedule. Back in the day, I didn't really think
it mattered that much because it was just two games
that were by your schedule. But now this sounds silly,

(01:13:03):
but now three games are dictated based on where you
finish in your division. So the Bengals get three games
against teams that finished in fourth place last year. I
think you know, they get to play Carolina. Yeah, they
get to play several teams that they will be heavily
favored to beat. And you think they go nine to

(01:13:25):
eight without Joe for most of the season or half
of the season anyway, if he can stay healthy, which
it is a big if, but if he can, Yeah,
I expect the Bengals to be right back in the mix.
I would have no problem picking them to win the division,
which is saying a lot since Baltimore was the best
team in the regular season last year. But yeah, I
think the sky's the limit as long as as long

(01:13:46):
as Joe can put these injury concerns behind them.

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
What game, best rematch, rivalry game are you looking forward
to this season?

Speaker 10 (01:13:57):
It's funny because we know what these opponents are, right.
That's the other funny thing about the schedule release, Like
we've known what these games.

Speaker 5 (01:14:06):
Were, yes, where they're going to be, right and.

Speaker 10 (01:14:09):
Now, so now we get to see when they happen.
And one of the ones I was looking forward to
the most I want to I still do. I want
to see the Lions get another go at at San Francisco.
Although it is it is a little bummer, a little
bit of a bummer though, Like that game is all
the way on like New Year's it's like week seventeen.

(01:14:30):
We're going to have to wait look forward to for
that game. It definitely doesn't look forward to, but like that,
But the great thing is there's so many matchups that
are that are earlier that are excited about. I mean,
off the top of my head, like being in the
Lions week one rematching that the Rams. It's not a rematch,

(01:14:51):
but I think we get the Von Diggs going against
the Bills in like week six. I think, so we
don't have to wait too long for that's there's bangers all.

Speaker 5 (01:15:00):
Over pretty early too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be good. Okay,
we have to let you go.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
But real quick, favorite social media schedule release video.

Speaker 10 (01:15:13):
I mean it's it's cliche, but like the Chargers are.

Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
Just on a different day, thank you.

Speaker 10 (01:15:18):
They're on a different level anybody. And I think I
don't know who to applaud. I mean, I know their
social team is amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
But Ali Raymonds.

Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
Yeah, Ali Raymond came out.

Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
She led the Chars on it beforehand.

Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
Grew up playing SIMS. She gave a shout out to
her parents who said, like it was going to rot
their roer. Blin wrote her brain playing Sims all day
every day, and she said, jokes on you.

Speaker 10 (01:15:40):
The funny thing, I just I love. It's very rare
to see a professional sports team being willing to like
talk trash and openly take swipes at their arrival. And
it is so much fun when a team is willing
to do it. And I really think that's why the
Chargers are always at the cutting edge, is like they
have the ideas and they exect them, but they're also

(01:16:01):
willing to step out on that limb and talk a
little trash and obviously it can backfire on you, Like
they had a terrible season last year and they caught
a lot of hell, and they all catch a lot
of hell if they're not good this year. But you
know what, have fun. Let's just have some fun.

Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
Let's have some fun. Yeah to office.

Speaker 4 (01:16:16):
That kind of takes the shackles, takes the handcuffs off
of this social media teagle.

Speaker 5 (01:16:20):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
Dave, thank you so much for joining us. And I
want to let you know if you didn't hear off
the top of our two we've dedicated this show to

We love you and we appreciate you so much for

Speaker 10 (01:16:33):
Thanks, guys. Shout out to the jos Man, Shout out.

Speaker 5 (01:16:36):
Jos All right, thank you, Dave.

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
We're going to take one more break here, but when
we come back, you guys, So, Tony's already a legend
in LA, we'll tell you why. Next you're listening to
Fox Sports Radio. You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I
am Alex Curry here with Carmen Vitally and we are
broadcasting live entire dot Com Studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 5 (01:16:58):
We're going out on a high. Know, baby, it is.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
Time for our feel good story of the week, you guys.
And the City of Los Angeles officially announced May seventeenth
as show Hey Otani Day, you guys. He he's only
been in LA for like a handful of months and
he already has an official day. And if you saw

(01:17:23):
any of the footage of I think it was Thursday night,
it was the first Otani Dodgers bobblehead night.

Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
Yeah, there were lines.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Wrapped around Dodger Stadium three hours before the gates opened.

Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
Those bobbleheads are now selling for fifteen hundred dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:17:42):
Wait, no, way are they.

Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
After the stadium giveaway? There are there are bobbleheads that
are selling for up to fifteen hundred dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
No, so I have so many.

Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
I have every single one of his Angels bobbleheads and
they're just sitting in a box.

Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
We're talking about you do those have any value? Car
check me out on the market, Sally's time.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
I'll take it out for you. I'll take a commission. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
Done.

Speaker 4 (01:18:05):
But I think it's really funny though, that he's getting
a day in LA despite the fact that the Angels
are in fact the Los Angeles angel.

Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
They're in Orange County, they're right next to Disneyland. It's
a really sensitive subject. I think I've talked about that
before because when I was on the broadcast, we had
to say, like it was like we couldn't say La Angels,
and we couldn't say Anaheim is like welcome to the
Big A, welcome to angel Live.

Speaker 4 (01:18:27):
Like it was like hell he people like that don't
have the rights to say super Bowl like yay, yes.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
But it's still in the name. So it's like it's
very confusing. But again, like Otani is off to a
historic start to this season, and we knew something special
was going to happen when he was just focusing on
hitting and not being the unanimous two time MVP two

(01:18:54):
way player right because he is what like, he is
once in a generational, in a lifetime style of player,
and he hasn't slowed down for a moment. He was
the first player to reach double digits in home runs
and stolen bases. He was leading all of Major League
Baseball and hits average, slugging ops. I think he just
got passed for doubles, but I mean he almost hit

(01:19:15):
a home run like into the water in San Francisco
this week, the deepest part of the ballpark. And I
just want to remind everybody he is doing all of
this with all of the outside drama happening. If you
listen close to any of the broadcasts on the road,
every single fan in the stadium chance E pay Pay.

(01:19:36):
So not only is he dealing with the world knowing
that he was robbed of over seventeen million dollars from
his best friend and interpreter, he hears it every single
time he steps to the play. And he's still trying
to recover from his non Tommy John Tommy John surgery,
his answer is to just go yard, just go yard,
like and again, twelve one run so far this season.

Speaker 5 (01:19:56):
Let me let me pick it up here.

Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
Bub runs thirty RBI for the through the first forty
games of this season.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Yeah, thirteen home runs, he's always up to thirteen. Yeah,
he hit another one last night. Yeah, thirty two rbi.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Like he is just the first quarter of the season.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
He is in fuego. He's batting three fifty eight.

Speaker 4 (01:20:13):
Like, I feel really good about my prediction earlier. That's
that the nl MVP is just going to come from
the Dodgers between.

Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
It's gonna be There's never been a sole DH to win.
But if he leads the league in all of the
offensive SATs or wins a triple crown, that's how he's
going to do it.

Speaker 5 (01:20:31):
But like, ah, what a time to be a Dodgers fan.

Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
All Right, thank you guys so much for spending your
Saturday afternoon with us. We'll see you next week, same time,
same place.
