Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Okay, it's time to eat crow. Yes it is. That's
coming right up. Good morning everybody. I know you couldn't wait.
We couldn't wait either. It is that time. It's Fox
Sports Sunday. I'm Fox Sports already. We're broadcasting life for
the Fox Sports Radio studios. He's Bucket Brooks. I'm May Furman,
and here he is. Do you aforementioned Bucky Brooks, my
partner and friend, media mogul and of course, former star
(00:25):
in the NFL. Bucky, how are you? It's that time again?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
It is that time again? And how you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm doing great, and I gotta ask a favor of you.
I just need like a minute of your time because
I have to. I want to get something off my
chest to you if I may. Is that okay with you?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
That is okay with me?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Okay, Bucky Brooks?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
As I say, I asked for a minute of your time,
just a minute now, because you, Bucky Brooks, are part
of the fraternity and me I'm an outsider.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
What do I mean by that? You played the game,
You were a pro pro athlete, you played in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
I was a fan looking through the ball. I didn't
understand back then.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Now I do.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Now I know athletes, pros have the same difficulties as
we outsided. Yes, family issues, money problems, hangers on, maybe sickness, relatives.
And I thought athletes really and truly. This is how
in the stars I was as a kid. I thought
athletes were immune to pain. I thought athletes live forever.
(01:24):
I found out that they don't. When Pete Rose passed
away earlier this year, and when I heard about the
passing of my friend Dave Parker yesterday after a long illness,
it killed me.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
It killed me.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, it killed me because his family will not see
him personally get inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame on
the twenty seventh of July. Now I know, Bucky, Now
I know, I know athletes are like real people. And
I say, Kelly, Kelly Parker, God bless you, May you
rest in peace.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Dave Parker. I said my peace, Thank you, Bucky, thank
you today.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
So here's the thing is, so I ron and get
you there Dave Parker's passing, because coming up, Dave Parker
was one of my favorite players. I remember we are
family pirates. I remember the pirates because when they won
in seventy nine. I just remember the hat because their
hat was so unique, the flat hat. Just watching Willie Stargol,
(02:20):
watching Dave Parker, watching the other guys win that championship,
Like I instantly fell in love with him. And maybe
it was the flash, the flamboyant game that he had.
But it is unfortunate that in the year in which
he's inducted into the Hall of Fame, that he also
succumbs to a long term illness. But maybe have an
(02:41):
opportunity to praise him as he's resting in peace when
he has his opportunity to go into the Hall, because
it's well deserved.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
You know, it is amazing what's happened, because he Rose
passed several months ago, Dave Parker yesterday, and Dave Parker
passed on the weekend where the Cincinnati Raids are in
town in Cincinnati, honoring their big red machine team of
fifty years ago. And there's not many of them left really,
Davey Concepcion didn't show up. Tony Perez was here, Johnny
(03:09):
Benchers here, you know, Ken Griffy's senior here. But they
honored them, had a little bit of a parade in
town in the ballpark, and then this happens on this weekend.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Not good. And the last time I saw Dave Parker
several months ago.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
You don't want to see an athlete a friend, certainly,
but an athlete in that state. He was in a wheelchair,
all right, and it was just so difficult to say hi,
it really was. It reminded me back in the day
I went up to Cooperstown for an induction. I've been
there several times, and I know this one stood out
in my mom because when you go to Cooperstown, they
(03:43):
have these athletes sitting on the street with these tables
hawking books and autographs and photos. And as a kid,
I love the New York Yankees, all right, And I
could rattle off the positions and the numbers right now.
I mean number six was Cleet Boyer, he played third base. Well,
I saw Cleete Boyer in Cooperstown. He must have weigh
three hundred and fifty pounds signing books, right, I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I don't want to remember guys like that.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I want to remember Cleete Boyer diving for a ball
at third base, a great defensive third basement. Now in
my mind, when I see Cleete Boyer. I see a
guy with three chins. I don't want to remember a
guy like that. That's just the way I am. Maybe
I'm crazy, maybe maybe I'm different than others, but that's
the way it is. I remember Pete Rose diving headfirst
into third base. The last time I saw Pete he
(04:29):
was shuffling his feet. I don't want to remember that.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
No, I mean, look, it's unfortunate. It's just the unfortunate,
I'll say, like the sound of life. Right, So we
go through the circle of life, and ultimately heroes eventually
fade to black, and so it's difficult to see the
people that we love, the people that we admire eventually
(04:55):
follow on the other side of father time.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
But that's what happens.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
So I think thing that you can do and we
can do, is we can remember the good times, celebrate
their memories, and which them well as they'd be able
to do.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Well, said Bucky Brooks. God bless you, and thank you
for letting me do that in my time.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Now, now moving over to something a little more lighthearted, okay,
and not even like maybe the most awkward of equipment
failures could stop this kid. The American runner Chris Robinson.
If you heard about this, he crossed the finish line first.
He ran the four hundred meter hurdles at the Ostrava
Golden Spike Meet the other day in Chetsia on I think.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
It was Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
He realized that his private parts had become fully exposed
before trying to do before trying to adjust his shorts
while still running a top speed. This is amazing because
he could not use his arms to run. He used
them to lift up his elephant trunk in the middle
of his shorts. That's what he had to do, and
he realized it wasn't possibly ignored the embarrassment. He ran
(05:54):
in forty eight point oh five. Here's the question. You
were a run, I know you ran track. How in
the hell does this happen? Can't you wear compression shorts
or jock How do your private parts fall out of
your shorts?
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I don't get it, I really don't.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
I mean, it could be wardrobe, malfund, it could be anything.
The netting in the pants has a hole in it.
I mean, there could be so many different things that
that could happen. I mean, like, just be glad that
we caught his hanging down, so we weren't necessarily succeptible
to seeing it for the entire race. I give him
credit though he talked about multitasking. That's a hell of
(06:27):
a multitask.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Has it ever happened to you? No, that you never
seen anybody at the NFL happen to them.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Chris Jones at the Combine years ago at the Combine. Yeah,
he his little his little elephant truck.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
As you called it, fell out of his compression shorts,
and so he fell down and just stayed on the
ground until they were able to find a way to
cover them up.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Pretty embarrassing. He must have allowed a crow there.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Speaking of eating crow, I have to do that right
now because I got to go to our ex producer Patrick.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Okay, serve it up.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Let's talk about the little wager we had last week
the Pacers and the Thunder. I know Bucky won. What
was the final score? How close was Bucky in that game?
Do you still have that or no?
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (07:11):
So the final score of actually of the game six
was one o three to ninety one under one and
six there. Uh And that was with Tyler Tyrese Haliburton
of being heard early in the game.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I know what did Bucky have? Do you remember his
final score?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
I think it was one of three ninety eight now
that I was keeping up with it.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Wow, that was pretty close.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
So I have to eat a little crow on that.
I looked it up. Everybody uses that term eat crow.
What is it?
Speaker 1 (07:36):
So?
Speaker 2 (07:36):
It means humiliation by admitting having been proven wrong aftery're
taking a strong stand, and I did, so I'm meeting
crow and that's what I did. Congratulations to Bucket Brooks.
And I'm going to say this, I know there was
no Tyres Haliburton in that game.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
I don't think it would have made a difference. I
really don't.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
I mean, great player, and he's been great in the players,
but not the way Oklahoma City was playing defense that game.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
It was like smothering defense.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Although I will say this, if in fact Indiana would
have won, I did say TJ. McConnell would have won
the MVP. I think there's a possibility he would have
gotten the MVP if they won.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
I mean, look, he was definitely a game changer.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
And I'll say this going back to Tyrese Haliburton's injury,
it is so unfortunate. It is one of the things
that made my stomach turn in the postseason is seeing
so many guys that come to Achilles injuries, whether it's
Dame Lillard, Jason Tatum, now Tyree's Haliburton.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
It was one of the fears that I had when he.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Had the calf injury, because we've seen it time and
time again. First a calf goes, then somehow the achilles
eventually goes, and look, we hope the best for Tyrees
Saliburton on his rehab and then he comes back. He
comes back and even better player. But man, how crushing
because he had it going and the Pacers were rolled
on with Tyreek Saliburton on the court right now.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Is there a chance, I mean, you know more about
this than than most peoples played the game. Is there
a chance that he comes back okay for next season?
Will he have to maybe miss the entire season next season?
Speaker 4 (09:06):
I mean, like now with modern medicine, Yeah, I'm sure
he'll like to get back by.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
The end of next season.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
But it's just such a loss, you know, just such
a loss in terms of him being gone. But it's
the risks that you take, right and it's the ultimate sacrifice.
We talked about pros and a lot of times pros
get pegged as being selfish, but imagine what Tyres Alliburton did.
He gave up a big part of potentially his career
(09:36):
to sacrifice to play in a game seven, and everyone said, well,
what else is he going to do? Yeah, he had
the option of sitting out because when the calf was
heard there was a serious injury. They said that it
would take two to three weeks for the recover, and
he came right back. So hats off to him, love,
his courage, his bravery and those things. You just wish
him a speedy recovery.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
You know, when I saw the injury, I termed my
stomach too, and just know doubt about that. The initial
thought in my mind was what was worse two years
ago when Aaron Rodgers after the fourth snap he was gone,
gone for the season, or Tyres Halliburton going down in
the seventh game. I think, really and truly maybe the
Aaron Rodgers situation, because this season was down the crapper
right after that. At least these guys made the finals.
(10:18):
They and look they as you mentioned, they started the
season ten and fifteen. No one thought the Indiana paces
would ever get to the playoffs, let alone the finals
and the seventh game of the Finals. So I think
that maybe the Aaron Rodgers thing, I think it was
kind of apples and oranges, But I just think injuries
and injuries. I just think that Aaron Rodgers is more
more devastating to their team than Tyrese's was to the Paces.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
I don't know if it's devastating. I think it's a
different a different thing. I think all their hopes and
dreams were wrapped up into Aaron Rodgers at the time,
But I don't know if Aaron Rodgers was playing or
what was going to play at a level because remember
we didn't have a great year before you got to
the Jets, and even though he've been a four time MVP,
I don't know. I still saw him as a descending player.
(11:05):
But I understand the devastation to a point. I feel
like the Halliburton thing was so much more devastating given
the circumstances and what was on the line.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
All right now, I want to make up for my
screw up in the playoffs. I have another strong stand
and I hope I have to eat Crow again. The
question of the day right now, in my mind, what
makes the NFL draft better than the NBA draft. All right, First, obviously,
the popularity of the NFL for sure, and the gambling
aspect maybe okay.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
But here's the big reason. And see if you agree
with this.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
We follow college football and we know the players that
are drafted. I look at the NBA draft in Round one,
there were three players from France, one guy from Israel,
one guy from China, one guy from Spain. It's very
difficult to no one knows who they are. You know,
who they played against, what their stats were. I mean,
obviously the personnel guys and the scouts are these various
(11:57):
teams know, but the average fan does not know. You know,
they knew Cooper Flag, which is the best kept unsecret
in the world because everybody knew that Dallas through the
luck of the draw, they get to draft them on
the first pick. But other than that, you don't know
these players. So I think that the interest level, I
think that hurts the NBA. I really do. I'm not
talking about talent. The talent is good. The European players
(12:19):
and the foreign players are good talent.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
But I think as far as interest of the league itself,
I think it hurts. I really do.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
I would say, look, there is something to.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Lack of familiarity with the players, right, So you have
a lot of international influence, guys coming from everywhere that
you don't know, you haven't seen, so you haven't had
a chance.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
To build up the story. But I think, really, man,
let's be honest.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Football is a more popular sport than basketball, and no
matter what we try to do to talk about basketball
and those things, football is king, whether it's college football
or pro football, and so we spend more time. We
have a stronger passion for football than we do for basketball.
(13:07):
Even though we have these great athletes that are playing basketball,
it doesn't captivate our mind and our hearts like football.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
And that's why we don't have the same kind of interest.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Whether it's the finals, whether it's the draft, those things.
Football is king because we care more about ball than
we do about basketball.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
You know, I hear what you're saying, and I can't disagree. However,
Number one, for the NBA to stretch it out for
two days was ridiculous. You know, you have two rounds,
you have two different days on TV for you know,
I understand what you're trying to do.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
You want to play off the playoffs, which.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Have the best ratings in like seven years or eight years,
whatever it may be, on the seventh game. So you
want to capture that audience. I get it, but no
one cares. You know, if the coop of flag, no
one knew who anybody was. Maybe maybe those kids from
Rutgers and that it was a joke too. We'll get
into that, because you know, Rutgers was death. I mean
their record during the season. You got two guys in
the top ten and your team finishes with a sub
(14:02):
five hundred record.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
That's nuts, that really is. We'll talk about that later on,
but I'll say this.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Back in the day, I remember when the NBA had
a seven round draft. Seven rounds they win, and to
be honest with you, the amount of games they play
in college and during the college basketball season there's a
game on or several games on it every single night.
You get to know, you get the familiarity of these players,
you know who they are, you follow them. I think
it's built in to have an interesting draft and get
(14:32):
these guys from one level to the next. Baseball is
another situation where it's bad because these guys, you know,
one really follows college baseball into the World Series, and
once they do get drafted, they're buried in the minor
league for three, four or five years. So they forget baseball.
But basketball had it, and now they lost it. They've
got to two rounds and here for the rounds or
(14:52):
foreign players. So I think they've lost that, and I
think there has to be some sort of a rule.
And maybe I'm nuts, but I'm saying there is a
limit of how many foreign players you could draft. Maybe
that's crazy, I know, but I think it hurts the league.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I really do.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
It hurts not the performance of the league, but it
hurts the interest of the league.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
So you want to capt the amount of international players
that we're taking, and so you want to basically rob
us of the opportunity to see a Yannis Victor.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
But no, wonder who Janis was untill he that's the point.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Yeah, but they drafted him though, Like, so you don't
want us to take you don't wantus to draft him,
and then you want them to come to the league.
How like our best players, by and larger are international players.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
I know.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Janis. I mean, look even.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
In the finals, Sayakam, I mean the game has an
international flavor, which might also speak to the fact that
why the NBA may have lost some of it because
they wanted to expand their their borders, right, they wanted
a global reach. By bringing in so many players from
outside of the States, you have lost some of the
(16:02):
fans in terms of like, right, not knowing who these
guys are. Whereas in the NFL, because it's a very
domestic sport, even though they're playing and trying to capture
some of the international audience, it's still buy and larger
domestics where all the players are domestic, like you know them,
they play in college, all of those other things. There
is a difference. But yeah, you can't rob the NBA
(16:24):
of its international flare and flavor. They've done too much
to build that up to now. Kind of like put
a cork in it, Like, Okay, that's what it is.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
I hear what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
However, I'll say this, then if you want out the
international flavor, at least do what the NFL does where
they play several games abroad. Go ahead, play some regular
season games overseas. That's what the NFL does. You want
to expand your base, expand your interest, you're drafting players
from that country Why don't you play a game? They
play a game in Spain. Why not play a game
(16:54):
in Greece? Why not? I mean the NFL is doing it.
They're played in Brazil last year, play in England every year.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Let the NBA do it.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yeah, I think the thing would be, will NBA fans
watch like we've seen that NFL fans will get up
at six am to watch a London game. It's not
thirty East got six thirty West Coast, but they'll get
up and watch the London games. They'll watch the international games.
(17:23):
Will there be the same interest in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
I don't look.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
I think the NBA can go wherever it wants to go.
I don't think it moves the needle in the States.
Some of the best stuff that the NBA does, I
would say it Summer League, ser League draws interest like
they do a really good job of Summer League and
those things. Maybe if it was a shortened season, not
as long as a season where they're more meaningful games
(17:50):
as opposed.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
To, hey we got these eighty two games, doesn't really matter.
To the end.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
We have the play in tournament. They try to do,
the nd season tournament.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
It called.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Even the old stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Games become a joke, yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
So they're trying to do these things, and they're trying
to follow some of what we call the soccer model,
because international soccer is big and they have all the
different cups and you know, you go from all your
different teams and supporting to you Okay, now we've got
World Cup comings and now we're doing that. But it
does it hasn't appear to resonate right now. It just
doesn't resonate, doesn't move the needle the way that some
(18:28):
of the other stuff that we've seen in football moves.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
There's no doubt. And I think you hit it on
the head when you say there's too many games. But
you get an NBA game in the middle of January
that ain't moving any needle.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
No one cares, they really don't. I mean, it's kind
of like baseball all of a sudden. Now a lot
of people become baseball fans because they're there center pieces,
nothing else going on, at least until NFL camp opens up.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
That's just the way it is, right, I mean, I
just think it's difficult for a sports fan to follow
more than one sport. Maybe I'm nuts, you know, especially
if you're a gambler, and gam is so prevalent right
now in the world of sports. You want to follow
one team of one player, so you kind of zoom
in on that. You just can't gamble. I don't think
on the NBA one night, Baseball the next night, in
(19:11):
hockey the next I don't think you can. You got
to zoom in on one, right, And I'm not a gamble,
so I don't know.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, I mean, I'm like to look at six on
one and a half a dozen in the other argument debate,
I's not a football is king?
Speaker 3 (19:29):
You're right, and you're king right here all right.
Speaker 2 (19:31):

if the phone calls are crutches, I don't need a
crutch right now. But right we have asked Bucky in
this hour our number two a una and the blame
game of that on number three, but one player says
he's not a centerpiece. We'll explain that next.

because no priers.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
On the first round, first.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Pick, Cooper Flagg, the eighteen year old kid from Duke
went to the Dallas Mavericks. This pick got to ask
you right now, Bucky. You know you have the answers
because you're the answer to man will have asked Bucky
about ten minutes. Is this for immediate help or to
develop this kid into a better player when they draft
a guy like that on the first pick.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Look, I think Cooper Flag is legit a legitimate All Star,
having watched them all season at Duke, having heard and
seeing the little snippets of when he had an opportunity
to play against Team USA. He has the goods, He
has the potential to be a star, and he lands
in a perfect place in Dallas where they don't necessarily
need him to be demand. Kyrie Irvin, though coming back
(21:40):
from an injury, was just resigned to a little deal
that will continue to ensure that he is the number
one option in Dallas and that will allow Cooper Flag
to grow into his role as a superstar.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Look, I see people talk about.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
A he may not be what everyone is building him
up to be, but I know he can get a
shot off the bounce, he can shoot catch and shoes style,
he can get into the paint, he can dunk on you,
plays defense, gives great effort, and have some clutch playmaking
ability that we've seen in the games. Does a lot
to like about Cooper Flag. I believe he's going to
exceed draft expectations.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Okay, I got here, and that's great. He probably will,
He may may very well will.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Okay, but he also said it's a blessing not having
to be the Maverick centerpiece, right, And I say all
number one picks one in all sports are and should.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Be the centerpiece. Who was not?
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Think about, why the hell are you drafting the guy
number one if he's not going to be your centerpiece?
You think the guy is going to be a game
changer and get you to the promised land?
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Right?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
You know, Let's look at the San Antonio Spurs when
they drafted Victor wumbin Yama. Okay, wasn't he the centerpiece
last year for the Spurs? He was a number one pick.
That's what you do you draft the guy number one
to be the centerpiece.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
I think it's weak that he said that. I really do.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I mean, he they may very well be the centerpiece,
and maybe he should have just not said a word.
He's just I'm happy to be drafted number one, happy
to be in Dallas, being but a bang and move
on with your day.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
But to say I'm not the centerpiece, I mean, come on,
what do I mean? Come on?
Speaker 8 (23:07):
Well?
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Really well, I think what he's doing is a very
real and honest assessment. I think that is solid for
him to say. And the reason why is in saying
that comment, he eases some of the tension that could
come between him and maybe a Kyrie Irvin if he
comes and like, yeah, I'm looking forward to being the
centerpiece when Kyrie Irvin is there and establishes the centerpiece
(23:30):
of the thing. I think it is Cooper Flag's way
of being deferential to the veterans, humbly coming in and
then letting his game speak when he eventually gets to
Dallas and starts playing, Okay, you.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Know what, now you make a lot of sense because
he should have said there's a couple of stars on
this team and they're the centerpiece. I'd love to just
mold myself and be able to work and play with them.
That would have been the thing to say, But I
get it. You know, under the bright lights, you're a
little nervous. But you know, if you think that statement,
in my mind, I was wrong. Take a listen to
the Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, because this guy's a
(24:05):
complete fool.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Take a list to Nico.
Speaker 9 (24:07):
Nico, take it back off that are you hopeful optimistic
step by drafting Cooper, some of the anger that had
been directing it directed at you personally pull subside Mare.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I'm hoping so, you know, I'm assuming so a little bit.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Maybe are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (24:25):
I mean, the legacy of Nico Harrison is going to
be the man who traded Luca, the man who took
the Dallas Mavericks to the finals a year ago. And
you're gonna tell me that this draft pick Cooper Flagg,
who hasn't touched the ball taken a shot yet in
the NBA, is going to make up and maybe the
fans are going to come back.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Ain't gonna work.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
You know, I'll tell you right now, it's the same
thing that what the New York Football Giants did by
letting Saquon Barkley go number one, and the ownership. The
ownership wanted him. I mean, the Mara family wanted Siquant
to stay, but the general manager let him go and
more even moreover, let him go to a team that
they play twice, the Eagles. I mean, that's going to
(25:07):
be the legacy. And that cost this general manager in
New York. He's on the hot seat. There's no doubt
how surprised he Wasn't can Lesley right? Don't you think
he should.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Have been fired for that?
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Look, man, I think general managers need to do us
in the best interest of the team. And I think
a lot of us are outraged by Luka Doncic being
traded away.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
But perhaps ownership came.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
To Nico and he said, hey, man, we're not going
to give him three hundred and thirty million dollars on
an extension, giving his off the court habits, either the
work ethic or whatever it is that made them pause.
That's not a decision that the general manager typically does
on his own without running it past ownership.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
So for everyone who is.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Harping on Nico Harrison trading away Luca look Man, the
owner had to approve it. The other thing that I
would say with Nico because everyone beats him up on
that trade, but he also built the roster that went
to the finals the year before, and he doesn't get
credit for that.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
The people that he brought in, how.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
That team played, how that team got there. I am
willing to give him not a pass, but a wait
and see because if Cooper flag gives them a little
of what they got from Luka Doncics with and Anthony
Davis or whatever, if this team goes far, We'll see
how it goes.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Because I'm be honest. I mean, the Lakers didn't do anything.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
I mean, it was a nice story, but the Lakers
didn't do anything. Very quickly ushered out of the postseason.
So for all of the Luca fans like Lucas great,
but it didn't register blip on the radar for the
Lakers postseason hopes. We talked about it a lot, but
in the end it produced little.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
I hate what you're saying about Nico taking it to
the playoffs in the finals last year and the year before.
Fans don't care because that's expected by fans, you know,
every season when every season begins in every sport unless
your team is really down. Look you're involved with Jacksonville,
you don't think those fans think they're going to the
playoffs this year, especially with Travis Hunter and a new
coaching staff, new coordinators. You don't think they believe that
(27:09):
they're going to the playoffs. That's the dream of fans,
the fanatics. They're crazy, right, They believe they're going. And
the one thing that fans remember are the negatives.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
That's what they do. We live in a negative society.
They don't believe.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
That the Mavericks went to the finals two years. They
expect that the fact that they traded the guy that
took them to the finals, Nico Harrison, and they bringing
somewhat of an unknown in Cooper Flagg. He's and unknown
hasn't touched the ball yet in the NBA. That's what
they're gonna point the finger at. How could you let
him go? How can you let Luca go?
Speaker 4 (27:40):
I mean, they're going to be like that until the
team proves otherwise.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
They got to the finals with Luca. I understand that.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Look, he is a superstar, make no mistake about it,
but he's also a liability. When he's on the court.
We talked about it, Nico talked about it.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
You know, you got to win.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
You gotta play defense to win championships. If you don't
play defense, you don't have a chance. Luca either can
guard or refuses to guard. That's an issue. I mean,
that is a problem. And for the amount of money
that they were going to have to pay him three
hundred and thirty million dollars, you've given him not only
the keys to the franchise, you're giving them power and
(28:20):
sway over every decision that is made. If you're not
one hundred percent on board with the player in person,
that Luca is, can't do the deal.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Nico couldn't see that. Now.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
The one thing that where he could have probably done
a better job of is if I'm going to trade Luca,
let me maximize the investment by letting the world know
that I'm trading him, so I could field multiple offers,
as opposed to this clandestine deal that he did with
the Lakers where no one knew, but they also didn't
appear to get proper market value for the star that
(28:57):
Luca is.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Well, I mean, right now I would have to say
Dallas is on the upswing with Kyrie Irving who's injured,
but he'll be back. Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson kind of
in the twilight, so to speak of his career. But
you got those three and plus the Cooper Flagg. I
think they're gonna they can make some noise next year Dallas.
We'll see what happens. I mean, I wish him well
and I wish Cooper Flag well. I don't want any injuries.
I want to see the guy play. I think he'll
(29:20):
do well. And as far as Lucas concerned, reports came
out of La just the other day that he's taken
the advice of others where I think he's got like
a personal training I was going to lose a little
weight and he's going to work out and get in shape.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
So that's pretty good. That's what they said.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Look at that when they talk about, oh, he has
to get in shape, and he decided to get in
shape because Luca wants his money. It cost him over
one hundred million dollars not being in shape and being
being bounced out of Dallas.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
He wants that money back.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Right, I mean, why not. But if it means to
do it. A couple of sit ups there, Luca put
the beer down. I mean, really it's not bad. I
mean I do the same thing for a couple of
mill That's what you got to do, you know, speaking
of basketball, all right, you know, I look at the
media and the media right now. I mean, and you
know this as well as anybody. You make a mountain
out of a Mohill. I want to what was the
(30:09):
big deal about this as Bailey thing by the kid
from Rutger the number five pick to Utah saying he
was not going to report and he's there. Obviously they
say he was there yesterday in Utah. He's going to
play six or eight kid out of Rutgers weighs about
two hundred. Pretty tough player. Really, he didn't work out
with them, and obviously he said he didn't want to
go to Utah. This isn't news. This has been going
(30:31):
on in sports for eons. Really, you know that John
Elway didn't want to go to a team Eli Manny
didn't want to go to to the West Coast. Cayleb
Williams said said to Chicago Bears, Chicago's the place where
quarterbacks die. So why is A's Bailey's story becoming big
because there was nothing else going on. I think Donovan
Mitchell didn't want to go to where he was supposed
to go in the NBA. This is there's a long
(30:54):
line a list of players who have been vocal about
not wanting to go to certain teams prior to drafting. Really,
it's not that you've seen it, right, I'm sure you've
even talked to somebody. What about you when you were
going to get drafted? Did you care where you were
going to go? Was there a team that I hope
I don't go there?
Speaker 4 (31:12):
No, I mean I didn't necessarily care in that regard,
and also I didn't have the ability to dictate the
terms when it came to it, so I was yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
I mean, look, I was just happy.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
And hopeful that I was able to kind of go
somewhere and do that stuff. Here's where I would say
the issue is when it came.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
To Ace Bailey.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
I think with Ace Bailey, what you have is the
situation where people are tired, right, They're tired of players
kind of going and doing their own thing when it
comes to the draft. And so much like we saw
people have a negative reaction to Shadur Sanders and the
reports that came out. Ace Bailey got that because there
(31:59):
is something about out quote unquote player empowerment or players
attempting to make power moves that drives fans crazy. And
for Ace Bailey, this appeared to be a power move
where he was going to dictate the terms to the NBA,
and with the NBA basically told him.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
He's like, yeah, it.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Doesn't work like that, and so the Jazz took him
despite his wishes, and so now he has to figure
it out because he doesn't have any juice, he doesn't
have any say.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
He's going to have to play for the Utah Jazz.
That's just what it is.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
You know, maybe it's just me.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
And I don't know if these athletes are spoiled or
just given bad advice, or maybe they're just stupid.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
I don't know. It's a privilege to be.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Drafted and any league, you know, NFL, NBA, MLB. I
mean it's a privilege and like it's an honor. I
mean I would go to Tim Buck too. Someone drafted
me really, I mean, so I don't know why. And
the money is the same in Utah as it would
be in LA or Chicago. It's still green. I don't
understand what the problem is. I mean, and Utah playing
(33:00):
not such a bad place to live. I wouldn't think
you don't have to live there. You can live in
any place you want. Here just gonna be there for
eighty one days games, stay in a hotel and get
the heck out after the game.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
That's all. Spend the night there. So I don't get it.
I mean, don't you agree that getting directed it's an honor,
it's a privilege.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
It is an honor and a privilege, and you do
want to make sure that you.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Treat it like that.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Sometimes, man like it just it can get a little walky.
He can get all the sideways and that's just the
way it goes.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
But he's in the league.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
We'll have an opportunity to see him, and we'll have
an opportunity to even further the conversation on him when
we get a chance to watch him play, to see
is he really worth the headache it was all of
this really really worth it, that's the bigger thing.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
Well, we'll see what happens. I mean, they say his
upside is pretty good, and he's six' eight and he can,
move and he could, shoot and he's got he's got it.
All so the bad news is playing In.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Utah you're not gonna to get to See utah ON
tv that much unless he comes. Alive and then he
stopped putting him. On but we'll, See we'll see what happens.
There He's Bucky. Brooks I'm Andy. Furmer we Are Fox

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Going It's. Bucky here we. Go I'm, patrick our executive.
Producer go, first you're the.
Speaker 7 (34:43):
Man all, Right, Well, bucky you got a topical one for.
You so this week it's Been Draft central with actually
a couple of different sports. Here but we're gonna focus
on one of them. Here so THE Nba, draft we saw,
it but you, KNOW i DARE i say just maybe
a couple of years. AGO i used to remember being
like one full day or night was you, know the
(35:04):
WHOLE nba draft and all that. Stuff my question to you,
is isn't two days like you, know round one and
then day two for round? Two, like isn't two days
a little much for THE nba?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Draft?
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Oh for THE nba, draft, absolutely one hundred, percent because
they're trying to play upon the way THE nfl draft
stressed it, out AND nfl draw is a bigger. Number
no interest once you get past the first, round, actually
once you get past to fifteenth, pick it's hard for
a lot of people to stay engaged because you don't
know the players that to come off the.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Board, yeah they're just dial from end of the. Country that's,
well all, right we move. On here we.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Go in, Baseball Kyle, rawley The seattle manners, catcher he's
nicknamed Big. Dumper big dumper now his nickname refers to his.
Backside all, right what are some of the better nicknames
you played? Alongside and by the, Way Bucket, brooks what's your.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Nickname bucky's my. Nickname that's my.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
NICKNAME i played With Gilbert. Brown he was a grave
digger because he would do that. STUFF i don't, Know
LIKE i like classic nicknames Like Billy, Whiteshoes, johnson stuff like.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
That, YEAH i mean o, stuff old school stuff.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Sounds good if it seems to. Be baseball has more
nicknames than any other, sport don't you?
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Think, yeah they. DO i don't know why where does
that come? FROM i don't, know but there COMES.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
I mean you go down to The. Bullpark it's, like,
hey there was a shortness of their, name and that's
the way it. Is you, Know jones and this and that.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Whatever, Hey rutgers had two players selected in THE nba
draft in the top. Ten Dylan harper was selected, too
as we Mentioned Ace harper at. Five, yet get, this
The Scarlet knights Of rutgers finished fifteen and seventeen last.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Year and they were eight and twelve in the. Conference
how when the heck does that?
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Happen?
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Uh that's either bad coaching because you got players that's
half to. Battle and obviously they had players because you
had two draft. Picks they just didn't put it. Together
but basketball is different because they're so. YOUNG nba drafts
off potential and, projection not necessarily off performance in.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Production.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Interesting that's embarrassing for the, coach, though don't you. THINK i,
Mean i'm sure Of raving And rutgers that they did.
That but he's got to be saying, Himself wait a,
MINUTE i had these two guys at top, ten and
you know we finished sub five.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Hundred it's, ridiculous it really.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
IS i, mean, YEAH i think that's probably a bit
of a.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Problem Bilma ravens Kicker Justin tucker get a ten game
suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy back in
twenty twenty. Two Deshaun watson only got six, games and
then he appealed it and it went to.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Eleven why was?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
THAT i, mean who?
Speaker 4 (37:38):
Knows Like i'm, tending there's no rhyme or reason to
how things are meted out.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
When it comes to THE.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
NFL i think For Justin, tucker he took the, deal
he's trying to get it over, here trying to put
it on the back pages so he can resume HIS nfl.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Career you, Know.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
I'm going to get into this with you later, on
but to, me he keeps on claiming that he's, okay he's,
innocent do.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
It why would you accept the deal if you're in.
THIS i don't get.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
It if someone look if a cop stopped me for
jaywalking AND i had to got to court or whatever
it might, be and they, said wait a, minute you
know the light was the light was, READ i didn't jay.
WALK i, Mean i'm not going to. GO i, Mean
i'll fight. IT i, mean AND i took a picture
on my, camera on my, phone whatever it may. Be you,
know you fight when you when you fight, it if
you if you weren't, GUILTY i don't get.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
It, yeah you do fight.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
It but then, sometimes like from a legal, standpoint you're
just trying to wrap it up and be done with.
It and if you start thinking about the cost and
the money that was going to cost him to fight
in appeal and do all the other, stuff maybe just
saw it as a better. Option, hey let's wrap it,
up put it in, bed let me go and see
IF i can resume my career in teen?
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Games all?
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Right how can The New York nis have a viable
draft when they don't even have a coach and after
they dumped. THEM i don't get That i'm. Doing you
have to have your coach available at the draft at.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Least.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
YEAH i think that's probably a big part of what
it is that you want to. Do you want to
have the coach available so you can do those. Things,
look everything about The knicks right, now to me is.
Weird it's weird that they haven't been able to find
a coach because they were so hot on moving on
From Tom thibodeau that you would have, THOUGHT i, mean
(39:22):
you just would have thought that they would have made
this move.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Beforehand BUT i don't. Know it's just a weird.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Deal, okay here's the biggest question of the. Day we're
in the last two days of.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
The month Of. June when the twenty ninth, Today july
fet Is.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Tuesday what does the average sports fan follow right? Now
THE nba playoffs have, Done it's too early FOR nfl training.
Speaker 3 (39:42):

THAT'S i have nothing for you on that.
Speaker 1 (39:56):

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Idea, WELLY i asked you USE i don't.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
KNOW i guess it's it's time to go out doors
and enjoy the. SUNSHINE i guess that's what you.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
DO i, MEAN i guess that's that's such a weird. Deal,
YEAH i. DON'T i. Don't here's.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
NOTHING i mean.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
NOTHING i have nothing for.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
You, Andy, no you said tell Me february was a
death month in sports. PERSUS i think it's down right,

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Why we have a genius amongst, us and his name
Is Mark, ramsey Magic, man the Magic, Man Mark. Ramsey
we talked about and Asked bucky some. Nicknames he came
out with at least a half dozen of.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
Them it's.
Speaker 2 (40:56):
AMAZING i know he's a little, shy SO i wrote
him down, ready for.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
These it's.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Amazing he just rolled off his. Tongue. Chili davis and
we talked about the Late Dave parker who passed away,
yesterday The Cobra Dave, parker the cobra Phil rajuda was
called The, scooter The Big, Hurt remember The Big, Hurt Magic,
Johnson Yogi, bearer The Twin, Towers Uh, dean The Dream
memminger remember? Him and back in the, Day Ted williams
(41:23):

take a. Bow you're, unreal you really.
Speaker 3 (41:30):

It the training? Camp the earliest date that team up.
Here do you know of, hand who's the first what
they're going to training?
Speaker 4 (42:17):
Camp think about who's in The hall Of fame, game
who is in The hall Of fame game this? Year
whoever's in The hall Of fame. Game they are only
the team the first team's. IN i still know who's
in The hall Of, fame who's in The hall Of fame.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
Game we'll find. That we'll get. That all.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Right this is good because right NOW i love the
fact that there's not a lot going on in sports
and people, say, well you're. Crazy why is that because
it forces you and me to be a little more
creative on this, show whereas during the football's it's, like all,
right let's start game by. Game it doesn't mean anything
(42:54):
because nine out of ten Times i'm, wrong usually pick the,
winner and it's just it doesn't mean. MUCH i, mean
this is great because it's a little more creative than
just previewing. Games, okay BUT i want to talk about training.
CAMP i want to know exactly what happens in training.
Camp i've never been. THERE i Mean i've seen. IT
i went To, Wilmington ohio back in the day when
(43:14):
The bengals were there and then they used to go
down To Georgetown college In. Kentucky now that now as
most teams. DO i think most teams have their training
camp at their home, field don't They they don't go
to college. Campus SO i Think pittsburgh The stealers going To, Littroll.
Pennsylvania don't they go To Saint Vincent. College other than.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
That, Yeah pittsburgh goes. Away The packers are in town
there At Saint norbert's. Somebody like Southern, california you have
some people they don't really go. AWAY i think so for,
instance like The La rams may practice At Loyola. Marymount
someone is practicing down south at maybe The saints are
(43:55):
coming to do EITHER Uc irvine or some of those
suits because they get out the hot. Weather the cowboys
still come out The. Oxnard that's.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Nuts Why why is? That?
Speaker 4 (44:06):
Why what are the? Cowboys the? Heat the heat and
the brand. Expansion it's another way of expanding the. Brand you,
Know andy Like Jerry jones in The, star The star
is bigger than.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
Everything it's a way to expand the.
Speaker 4 (44:19):
Brand so get that part of. HIM i, mean if You're,
american don't you pull for the? Cowboys aren't you A
cowboys fan cloud like a Closet cowboys, fan.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
DON'T i mean you.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
Don't you don't Watch America sweetheart On netflix about The
cowboys cheerleaders.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
And who makes the team.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
And four hundred bucks a game they're. Getting, really it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
You thinking about what you Just.
Speaker 2 (44:50):
I'm surprised it hasn't been a man that kind of
challenged that. Rule then he wants to become a.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
Cheerleader i'm sure you look. Good and some even wear?
Pantyhose did they wear?
Speaker 3 (45:01):
Panhose whatever it takes from the bucks a, Game i'll do.
IT i would do.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
THAT i would think that back in the, day going
to a college, CAMPUS i think where you could bond
a little bit might be a better situation than you,
know going back and forth to the home field where
they play the regular. Games, ANYWAY i think that was
a good. DEAL i, know back in the, day these
teams used to go away for six. Weeks six weeks
they go away to a college college, dorm AND i
(45:26):
heard stories where there wasn't even any air conditioning at the.
Time but it's a great place to. Bond they get
to know these guys and. Roommates whatever it may.
Speaker 1 (45:33):
BE i mean it's a great place to. BOND i,
MEAN i can't knock. That like, us that's a good, thing,
right you don't think that's a good, thing gat it's.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
GREAT i think it's. ONE i think that makes a
big difference when the season, BEGINS i really do get
to know, somebody get some good. BUDDY i, mean just
be with these guys twenty four to, seven rather than
go out there for practice and go back.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
HOME i, mean is that what they?
Speaker 2 (45:54):
DO i guess when The dallas Got Dallas cowboys go To,
california they can't go, home so they're in a, hotel
so they've got a MEETING i guess after.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
That but most other, teams so, now some people would
say that because you don't have that old training camp
where you get away and you're away from, everybody away
from your, family you're cooped up in a dorm room
or a, hotel you have the chance to spend more
time and so as you're building your, team spending time
(46:22):
creates bonds that are. Necessary and when you do it
just in, facility you lose that on some of that
because everyone kind of goes this separate. Way sometimes they
let guys go. Home it's just a different way of doing.
IT i Always let's, see WHEN i was In Kansas,
city we went away To River falls because that used
to be part of The Cheese league when you have
(46:43):
all those teams playing up.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
THERE i was In.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Buffalo it was In, buffalo but NOW i think they
go To. Rochester it wasn't In. Buffalo it was In.
Forredonia that's WHERE i first. Went it was At Fordonia.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
State buffalo was, There jacksonville was at the.
Speaker 4 (46:58):
Stadiums were In Napa valley on the backside of The
marriotte In, napa which was a great getaway because it
was super. Cool there was a great city to be
a part of. It and Then Kansas city when uh,
Yeah Kna, city we Were River Falls Kansas. City NOW
i think they go somewhere In. Missouri Maybe Saint joseph
(47:19):
somewhere In. Missouri that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
HOT i thought The bearers went To Saint Joseph's college
And renschelli Or.
Speaker 4 (47:26):
Indiana Oh, okay maybe MAYBE i just know it, somewhere.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
AND i may be, nuts BUT i do remember reading
this way back when that The New Orleans saints go
to The greenbrier In west In White Sulfa, Springs West.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Virginia mm's a pretty.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Nice, place, too very. Nice that's where it.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
GOES i don't know why they go, there BUT i
didn't even know if there's any football facility, there BUT
i guess they create one.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
Night but it's it's pretty. NICE i, mean it's.
Speaker 2 (47:58):
Great these teams spare no expense to get to do
that and train whatever it may. Be but it's that
time when it go TO nfl Dot com because, again
you always hit the, bullseye you really. DO i don't
know how you do. It it's a lot of, work
a lot of, preparation but it's great READING nfl Dot
com Every friday year up there on the website and
(48:18):
you talked about awards and it's never too early and
you're talking about the dog days this summer right now
for THE nfl, fans never too early to talk about
maybe training camp and awards that may happen this. Year
how did you do this BECAUSE i know you kind
of quoted to some extent the odds to win various
awards at THE, Mvp Offensive player of The, year whatever
(48:39):
it may. Be did you get that from the odds
From vegas or are these your, deals the fact that
you just believe that these players are going to win these.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
Awards so this is my.
Speaker 4 (48:49):
Deal so what we want to do is we want
to take the top five guys on the, board take
them off the, table and let's try and find some long,
shots guys that aren't favored to win, it but could
come out of the blue to win.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
It and so that's HOW i. Did AND i wanted
to keep it fairly. Realistic wanted to.
Speaker 4 (49:07):
Make sure that we could tie it in SO i
could make a BECAUSE i Knew andy was gonna pull.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
It SO i got to be able to debate the
people THAT i included on the.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
List, WELL i will tell you this, much THE, mvp
you might as well give the award and change THE
nad to The quarterback of The, year, right because it's
always going to be a? Quarterback AM i right about? That?
Speaker 2 (49:26):
Okay so it's a again it because the quarterback is
probably the most important position in all of. Sports and
if you want to ask me who THE mvp might,
BE i would say Possibly Joe. BURROW i really believe
That Joe burrow may have a great year this. Year
And Josh allen are right. THERE i think a dark
horse in my mind might Be Justin. HERBERT i Think
(49:47):
Justin herbert could be a dark. Course other than, THAT
i don't. Know but you come up With Baker, Mayfield
i'm scratching my. HEAD i know his numbers were pretty
good last, year but, Really Baker MAYFIELD.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
Mvp you got to defend this. One you have.
Speaker 4 (50:03):
TO i, mean look At Baker mayfield is easy to
Depend in my, Mind Baker mayfield is coming off the
best season of his.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
Career last.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Year we had forty one touchdowns compete over seventy one
percent of his. Passes The Tampa Bay buccaneers have been
into playoffs the last five. Years it looks like a
clear path for him to win the division again for
the fourth time in a. Row and to, me they
are a much better team this year than they were last.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
YEAR A Mecca buka comes.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
In they've really committed the draft to defensive players to
make sure that the defense is.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Right you Have.
Speaker 4 (50:31):
Hassan reddick coming on board to give them another piece
on the puzzle when it comes to.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
DEFENSE i just like their.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
Team and If baker continues to operate in the space
that he has In tampa and puts up another forty
spot for a team that may win twelve thirteen. Games
he's going to be in the conversation and say what
you will about The Tampa Bay.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
Bucks they are a team.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
That has been, really really good down the, stretch AND
i think when all eyes are on these tight playoff,
Races Baker mayfield could catch you a little momentum and do.
It look last year we Saw Josh allen do, it
AND i would say That Josh allen won THE mvp
and a season in which it wasn't necessarily his best statistical,
season but because The Buffalo bills were good and he
(51:17):
played a critical part in that when no one expected
him to. Be that's why he's THE. MVP i Think
Baker mayfield will suffer a similar. PLAY i think people
are going to give him credit for the team being.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Solid, really, okay do you give me some credit here
WHEN i throw out There Josh allen And Joe.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
Burrow i'll give you credit For Joe, burrow but you
got to, remember do you get to stick to the.
Odds Josh allen can't be included because he's in the top.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
Five Joe burrow may be on the, line.
Speaker 4 (51:44):
BUT i mean, look If Joe burrow gets The Cincinnati
bengals to the twelfth, win, mark he has made a
miracle because their defense is absolutely.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
Terrible, YEAH i mean it's.
Speaker 4 (51:54):
Terrible what it is you have no one that wants
to be there is. Terrible if they're able to do that,
yet And joe, world we can give him and then
he and his his he's public with his.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Girlfriend now he and his supermodled girlfriend can come.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Outside who cares to stop wearing those backless? Suits it
makes me? SICK i, mean come on.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Already, look, look he's Not, Andy, Andy he's not wearing
it for. You trust he's. Not he's.
Speaker 4 (52:19):
NOT i, mean, LIKE i love, you but he's not
really worried about your opinion on.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
The Back.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
Wait will you backless? Suit?
Speaker 1 (52:28):
No, no, no no one wants to see.
Speaker 4 (52:30):
That, no, no like and that might be too T.
M i nobody wants to see that right. Now BUT
i will say the young people WHEN i talk to
my DO i talk to my. Daughter my, daughter she's
A Joe burrow. Fan she's she kind of digs. It
she kind of digs a little back. Out for, me
not so, much but For joe it, WORKS.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
I guess you're, Right, okay do you like the idea
that Maybe Justin herbert's a dark horse because, second.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
Because With harbar, there, well, second you're the.
Speaker 4 (53:02):
Coach but also look THE mvp or what is not
only individual, performance it's about.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
Winning So Justin herbert should be able to.
Speaker 4 (53:10):
WIN i wouldn't be surprised to see The chargers overtake
The Kansas City chiefs as the team to beat in
THE Afc. West and if that, happens he's going to
get the. Benefit numbers may not be eye popping or,
spectacular but we Are league Of rewards, winners and he
would be considered a winner if he's able to put it.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Off all.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Right you, know speaking the, quarterbacks and you Mentioned Baker,
mayfield do you think That Cleveland browns right now are
a little upset he's no longer with.
Speaker 4 (53:36):
Them, no BECAUSE i Think Baker mayfield would not be
the same version Of Baker mayfield if he hadn't gone
on the odyssey that he had to venture on after
he Left. Cleveland The Baker mayfield that is In tampa
is a more mature version of the player that was
playing In. Cleveland mature humility kind of gets it doesn't
(53:59):
seek to spotlight is just about his.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
Business.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
Now he may have always been about, that but he
was a little young and so when you're, young we
do young boy.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Stuff he now fully gets.
Speaker 4 (54:09):
It he's been a franchise Quarter whenever you talk to
people down there about, him love, Him love him in
terms of what he's done to the, city how he's,
connected how he's kind of become the man's. Man the
team rallies around. Him, yeah it's been a good move for.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
Him, WELL i will say.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
This you, know he had a hit rock bottom to
some extent before he came back, up and he's done
a good jog coming back In Tampa. Bay but, honestly when,
ALSO i don't see many More Baker mayfield. Commercials he
was all over the place way back when you don't
see that much. Anymore maybe he's just, say, Look i'm
zeroing in on football.
Speaker 4 (54:43):
Now and, look, man when you keep the main, thing
the main, thing keep football the, focus the money and
the other stuff comes after. That and so we're seeing
that happen for. Him he is locked in on being
the best quarterback they can, be and so he gets. Rewarded,
otherwise it works for.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
Him, okay and speaking the, QUARTERBACKS i just have to
throw this up BECAUSE i know you'll. Agree you Got
Geno smith and you've Got Sam, donald who have had
two pretty good years.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Recently do you think The jets are scratching the?
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Head that team right now might be the worst run
team in all of, sports and maybe The Colorado rockies
are a close, second but they may be the worst run.
TEAM i, mean they wanted to Run Sam donald out of, town,
Right Gino.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
Smith they got punched in the jaw when he played
for The. JETS i, mean look what these guys have
done right now since they.
Speaker 4 (55:38):
Left, yeah but once, again like it's, everything AND i
would say that their organization certainly is too. Blame they
are too blame because they didn't do a good job
of taking care of their young. Quarterbacks the young quarterbacks
have found success because they've, matured they've had.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
Time time is the key for.
Speaker 4 (55:59):
Everything Noticing Sam, donald whatever year this is for him
in the, league seven or, Eight Gino, smith he's over
ten plus years in the.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
League the.
Speaker 4 (56:08):
Maturity most of the time when we take, players we
don't give them enough time to grow into their. Roles
it's in immediate instant gratification society when it comes to
our fandom with THE nfl, teams and we're not giving
those guys enough time to fully realize what they could
and what they should.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Be all, RIGHT authensi player THE i want to know
why you picked the running back over a. RECEIVER i,
mean running backs right now are like dinosaurs in THE.
Nfl they really.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Are we're talking about we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
It's a passing.
Speaker 1 (56:43):
League it, was and what.
Speaker 4 (56:46):
Happened defenses started taking the passing away and the running
game has come back to.
Speaker 1 (56:51):
Center Remember Sakwon barkley.
Speaker 4 (56:53):
Had over two thousand, Yards Derrick henry was a big
run away from being another two thousand yard. Back you
had four or five guys over thirteen hundred. Yards and to,
me it makes a lot of sense because as more
teams are taking away the explosive plays in the passing
game and willing to concede rushing yards because that is
(57:15):
a slow death as opposed to the quick. Death, yeah
you're gonna see the running game come back to the.
Forefront and that is why a guy Like Josh jacobs
could be a critical part of The packers championship.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
Run how could you?
Speaker 2 (57:28):
Not how could you Not Bucket, Brooks but my, Guy
Jamar chase has number one as The Offensive player of The.
Year he won The Triple crown last. Year but that
was last. Year my, gosh you just wanted to be
A Cincinnati bengals.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
Infomercial you want to give individual, Honor you want to
GIVE Mvp Offensive player of The. Year you want me
to give all That Jamar chase won The Triple. Crown
if he's gonna win The Offensive player of The, year
he should have got it last year because he won
The Triple. Crown but BECAUSE A Kwon barkley had such
a remarkable, year you couldn't give it to. Him so
(58:00):
now can you replicate that when not only do you
Have Jamar, chase but you got T higgins commanding big.
Checks are they going to be able to throw it
To Jamar chase over and over and over, again and
and some of the throwing we're doing it because our
defense was. Awful we're chasing. Points we didn't have a.
Choice are we still trying to live that? Life that's
(58:23):
what we. Want we want that.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
Front without our favorite, teams and it'll be worse Without.
Speaker 2 (58:27):
Trey hendrickson this year because he's not back. Yet but
here's my. Question these. Voters they're not going to give
these awards out to people on teams that do not
make the.
Speaker 3 (58:36):
Playoffs that's just the way they.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
ARE i remember back in the day in, baseball you
can get AN mvp if you finished in last, place
and any banks may he rest in, peace he wanted
back to. BACK i think in fifty nine and sixty
or fifty eight to fifty nine with The Chicago, clubs
he was AN mvp and the team finished. LAST i
mean it's a question to to scratch you, ahead how
could you be AN mvp if your team finishes?
Speaker 3 (58:57):
Last? Right but, again you know you want.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Chase if your team's not making the, playoffs you're not
going to get any, awards, Right that's just the way
these voters.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Are.
Speaker 4 (59:07):
WELL i, mean we are trying to reward, success and
individual success is one, Thing BUT i, mean what is
the point of bringing up a bunch of numbers if
they're like potato, chips a bunch of empty?
Speaker 1 (59:17):
Calories, right we don't we don't want empty.
Speaker 4 (59:21):
Galleries you want we want people that are doing things
that are productive and all.
Speaker 1 (59:24):
That so it makes sense to me out of you,
know WHAT i, mean you know what you're.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
Saying so you Like Josh jay who was? Second it's
gonna know who's second and third were in your list of.
Speaker 4 (59:35):
That, look, man, LOOK i Think Josh jacobs has the.
THING i Think Matthew stafford has an opportunity to kind
of sneak in. There With DeVante adams And Pukin nakua
being big parts of the, offense is really really wide.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
Open i'm excited to see.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
It i'm excited about the season that's right around the. Corner,
then you, KNOW i don't think we're gonna have discussions
like this much during the season because like breaking down,
games you, know which IS i leave that for the,
coaches you, Know, BUCK i really. DO i mean WHEN
i hear guys behind microphones talking about defenses and they
should do, this and, no you, know you're a talk show.
(01:00:10):
HOST a talk show host is nothing more than a
newspaper columnist behind a.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Microphone that's what you. Are you have an.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Opinion you're not a personnel. Guy you're not a. Coach
you're not a. Coordinator now you?
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
Are you played the?
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Game you, KNOW i respect, You but the average schmunk
behind the, microphone like. Myself you know who AM i
to tell you know a coach who's been in The
National Football league like And Andy.
Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Reid you should have ran instead of. Passed. Right it's,
laughable isn't It it?
Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
Is he, said a smuck. Smuk, yeah that's.
Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
Me that's by the.
Speaker 2 (01:00:43):

Speaker 3 (01:01:59):
Lunch that was. GREAT i guess he flew in FROM
La so it was a good, Man rob Park it's.
Good you know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
WHAT i probably don't think he wants me to go
public with, this but he's going to be on the
ballot for The Baseball hall Of fame in the. Right
how do you like that he just talked about.
Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
That that's. Cool, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Good, Man rob Park he's done it ALL, tv, radio
newspapers and he covered The Cincinnati reds for a long
time for The Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Inquirer so he came back to.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
DEAD i did not. SEE i did not know. That
how DID i?
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Know actually the First African american columnist for The Detroit Free.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Press, YEAH i knew about The Detroit Free. PRESS i
did not know about his ties To.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
Cincinnati, yeah and he covered the knicks of The New
York Daily. News so he's been all over the.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Place, okay we Got yayna in about twelve minutes from.
Now let's talk about your friend and not. Mine AND
i don't, KNOW i hate could be a nice. GUY
i throw All Aaron rodgers and he says, this he
is going to be his last.
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
AND i say.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
It WHEN i heard, That thank, goodness thank Good LOOK
i got nothing personal against, HIM i don't think BECAUSE
i don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
Him But i'm.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
TIRED i, mean aren't these media people tired of talking
to him and writing about?
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
It let it? GO i, mean is he that?
Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
IMPORTANT i know he's not that, noozy but he said
it's going to be his last. Year so when he says,
that is he says that intentionally to give his teammates
more inspiration to win.
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
So he can go out on, top or at least
in the. Playoffs is that why he said?
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
It you?
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Think, LOOK i think he may just be near and the,
END i know that man to be forty plus playing
in the league is hard on, anybody and twenty years in.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
Kind of reaching.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Peace would like to go out on the right, note
because guess, What, andy we can always change our mind
if we want.
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
To so it doesn't matter what he. Says he can
get to. It and if it's going, well then what
is the, Conversation? Aaron are you sure that you want?
Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
To?
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
Right so there's some of, THAT i, mean you, know
so it's a way to kind.
Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
Of, LIKE i don't say like he alleviates something, pressure
but he can't alleviate some of the pressure on him
on himself by being able to kind of say this right.
Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
Now but perhaps forty is a new. Thirty AND i
tell you, WELL i give him.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Credit forty one years of age and come back from
a major injury two years.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Ago he's gonna be playing.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Football BUT i have more respect For Lebron james at
forty one playing.
Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
BASKETBALL i think that's. HARDER i know football is. Rough
he's a.
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Quarterback he gets, protection so he gets knocked on his
keysturvery once in a. While but other than, THAT i
Think lebron has done more and accomplished more at forty.
One don't you think that's a bigger deal to play
basketball for twenty plus years at forty one years of,
Age and he really and truly hasn't to, me in my,
mind hasn't really diminished, much still averaging over twenty a,
game right because Still, lebron let's face, it you, KNOW
(01:04:43):
i watch him. Play he shoots from the, perimeter doesn't
really bounce it around under the. Boards he's not a great.
Rebounder he doesn't bang really. Hard he's an offensive. Guy
he stays on the top of the key on the.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
SIDE i, mean he's a, floater but he's not a
banger under the boards for. Rebound he's not gonna get
hurt that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
Much, YEAH i MEAN i get.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
THAT i mean there is definitely some truth to the
statement when you talk about like he's not gonna get
hurt much and that like he. Doesn't and when you're
forty you do have to adapt an Adjust you're no
longer the young man who can do some of the
things that you used to be able to.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Do but.
Speaker 4 (01:05:19):
Your mind is so sharp that your mind can give
you an advantage because your experience can. Lead your experience and
expertise couldn't allow you to play, faster one step ahead
of the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
Posse, Right i'm with, you But i'm impressed With. LEBRON
i mean forty forty. PLUS i mean it's big playing
in THE. NBA i mean just to, travel you, know
to travel and knock the heck out of.
Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
YOU i mean's you.
Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
THINK i see these these media, guys these radio broadcasters for,
baseball they pack it in when you ask, him how
come you're? RETIRING i, mean you have a couple of
more years. Left you still sound pretty. Good can't handle the?
Travel can't held it? That that's what they, say the first.
Thing they, say you can't handle the. Travel to, ME
i think it's the probably the best part of the.
Job you get first class, hotels travel first. CLASS i,
MEAN i don't get, it but that's their life. ANYWAY
(01:06:03):
a memo to media, people media, types you need to learn.
This every Time Aaron rodgers opened his, mouth you need
not type about, it tape, it write, it put.
Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
It on your. Computer many of us don't. Care isn't that?
Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
True every time he opens his, mouth all these media
guys are. GAGA i, mean let it go really, well because.
Speaker 4 (01:06:23):
It's clickbait and we start. Chasing and we do understand
the power of stars and what stars can do when
it comes to driving up, interests driving up clicks in those.
Things SO i understand while we do, it while we.
Speaker 1 (01:06:39):
Include them in the, conversation it's just. Different, YEAH i understand.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
It, OKAY i Get i'm not too keen on, that
but especially when he opens his mouth it says something really,
dumb like he doesn't want his wedding. Public, wow how
stupid can you? Be you know what your wedding? Public
there are people out there that didn't even know you
just got, married so now it is. Public why mention?
It there are some who probably doesn't even know you
(01:07:04):
were even.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
MARRIED a? Fool think about.
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
That he went out and said the other, DAY i
don't want my wedding being.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
Public are you? Kidding why would you say? That you
just made it? Public oh my. GOODNESS i, mean is
he that? Stupid AM i? AM i? PUSH i?
Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
Really he might be pushing it too, hard you, know you,
know like it doesn't appear that you're a big fan
Of Aaron.
Speaker 1 (01:07:25):
Rodgers it doesn't seem like you're gonna be on the.
Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Hola he's a, narcissist he's an ego.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
MEDIA i mean, LIKE i, mean like we all heavy.
Egos you know What i'm, Saying we all heavy e.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
Gos i'm not saying that he isn't a little over the,
top but you, KNOW i mean we we've created the.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Monster we created a monster. Him all of the attention
that he you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Know it seems to me he didn't get that much
attention when he played In Green. Bay it was The
New york media that kind of killed, him don't you.
Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
Think, no he always he always got, now he always
got attention because we love, quarterbacks so we always kind
of give them.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
A little. More you. Know it's just it's just.
Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
Different you, know we're just kind of growing tired of
maybe the, stick the little.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
Act you.
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
KNOW i just, wonder you, know in your career in THE,
nfl did you ever play with a guy who was
could be labeled as an? Egomaniac and what is the
relationship with? HIM i, mean do people in the locker room, say, oh,
geez open his mouth. Again have you played with a
guy like?
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
That DID i play with anybody that was loud and, boisterous.
Speaker 7 (01:08:31):
You, know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:33):
GOSH i played With Andre rosen a couple of, stops
first In, Jacksonville Dinikanas, city but a lot of That For.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
Andrea it was just for. Show he was a good.
Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
Teammate they haven't been many quarterbacks THAT i played with
that were like. That Jim, Kelly bret fav wasn't like.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
That Jim kelly was the going to even want to
be In. Buffalo he didn't want to be there, initially right.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
He, didn't BUT i got there After they're going to
four Straight Super bowl so he was the king Of buffalo,
then you, know ninety, four it's WHEN i got. There,
Kelly Brett, Fahv Mark runel didn't want any. Fanfare didn't
really have any stars In jacksville outside of That Ken,
city Rich, Gannon Elvis, garbrock so you didn't really have.
That you had on, defense you had the Late Derrek,
(01:09:16):
thomas who could be a little, flamboyant little.
Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
Boisterous and then WHEN.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
I got to The, Raiders Jeff george was there that you.
Hadn't Rich gannon came over the next, year so you
really didn't have. That really didn't have any wild outlandish
guys that were ego.
Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
MANIACS i would.
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Say the funny thing Is Jeff george would be painted
in that, light but he was so, Quiet like you,
know his perception on him because he was so, confident even,
cocky it would, be oh he's he's arrogant or. Whatever
he JUST i felt like it was more. Shy he
had a lot of, confidence but he was super.
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
Shy you.
Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
Know it's funny you mentioned we love quarterbacks and we're
doing and is to the center piece of THE, nfl
and the media love them and they're easy to obtain
and Every wednesday prior to a, game fans know that
there's like a midweek news conference and the quarterback is
always stayed with the. Coach But i'm thinking about right,
NOW i don't recall a, quarterback Even Patrick. Mahomes these
(01:10:18):
guys are not ego. MANIACS i mean in the forefront
because they have to, be and they, talk they don't say,
much not Even Joe burrow or really my. Guy but you,
know think about the quarterbacks right now in and around
The National Football, LEAGUE i don't think there's one that
you could really call a. Blowhard you, know there's not
a quarterback that in my MIND i relate To STEVEN. A,
(01:10:40):
smith WHO i think is a.
Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Blowhard all, right that's All i'm.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
Saying, Yeah Aaron rodgers would be probably the closest to,
That like in his own, way he's the only one
that you're, like oh, boy here we. Go everybody Else
now they kind of play their, poor play their role
within their. Position but remember we also don't have any
superstars quote unquote at the, position you, know and when
we used to throw that word, out superstar is not
(01:11:03):
only what someone does on the, field it's what they
do off the. Field is are they a legitimate? Celebrity
are there a high end commodity outside of the.
Speaker 1 (01:11:13):
Game it's a little. DIFFERENT i would.
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
Say the only one that we have that is like
that will Be Pat. Mahomes but he chooses to use
his power for, good not for, evil if we can
say it like, that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
Right and it seems to me like on This, wednesday
when they dragged the quarterback out there for these news,
conferences most of them are dragged out there. Begrudgingly they
don't even want to be. There it's, true they don't
want to be. There they go there because they have
to be. There that's what they. Do they talk and
most of them don't say. Much and that's basically. IT i,
mean when we move. On but to, me another person
who should have been private is probably an ex Ex
(01:11:46):
Ravens Kicker justin TUCK X Ravens kicker suspended the first ten,
weeks violating THE Nfl Personal Conduct, Policy and obviously he
did it because what suspension because OF i, guess violating
it with sixty massage therapists from eight high end spas
and wellness centers In. Baltimore, geikes here's a guy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
THAT i watched what two three years? Ago they did
a feature on him on Sixty minutes that he sings.
OPERA i, mean if you were to give me a
list of names of The National football even whittle it
down to ten, names and say who's going to be
suspended from this? LIST i would never even dream it
would be. Him what were? You how shocked were you
when you heard this?
Speaker 4 (01:12:29):
NEWS i, mean, LOOK i was fairly. Shocked it's it's
not every day you can hear news like.
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
That But.
Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
I'll reject that people say, SHOCKED i. Can't i'm not
surprised by anything that happens in sports put. Yeah, LOOK
i raised an eyebrow certainly WHEN i heard the.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
News it's amazing to, ME i, say, say suspended the
first ten, weeks AND i want to know why he
didn't appeal. This and it seems to, me if you
don't appeal, it you, know AM i stretching?
Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
It that means you're. Guilty if you don't, appeal it
means you accept the charge and you're. Guilty why accept
the suspension if he says he's not? Guilty, REALLY i.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Think SOMETIMES i think sometimes you accept the suspension so
you can go ahead and get it, on get on with.
It put everything in the, past Because i'll be, honest
like people.
Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Haven't really Taken Justin turker the task for his.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Transgressions you look at, this it pails in comparison to
the intrigue and outrage that was associated With Deshaun.
Speaker 1 (01:13:32):
Watson it's a different.
Speaker 4 (01:13:33):
Thing so he is best to continue to lay low
and let the storm blow, over regardless of how many
people were hurt and. Impacted for, him from a personal,
standpoint he has a chance to get back to playing
if he's quiet and stays out of the. Limelight he
might have made that decision based on, that, like hey,
(01:13:54):
man let's just take our penalty right. Now, YEAH i
have to miss the first part of the, season but
IF i come back and play well on the, stretch
that will launch.
Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
Me into twenty twenty six as a hot.
Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Commodity i'll leave you with, This The ravens. New how
DO i Know The ravens new they drafted a. Kicker
they downplayed it when they drafted, it but they. Knew
they knew back. THEN i would say, this and Maybe i'm,
wrong AND i Hope i'm. WRONG i think he's finished
in THE Nfl hall Of. Fame forget, that because he
would have been A hall Of. Famer but he's finished
his career right, now is over?
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Agreed no.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
Ally of those, no.
Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
LIKE i think he will get an opportunity because the
one thing THAT i do know about the, league the
league is a forgiving league as long as you have.
Talent he has been one of the more clutch kickers
that we've ever seen in our. League so that's going
to give him a chance to play this. Year if
he plays this, year remember there's nothing more that we
love than a storybook. Arc so you now can have
(01:14:51):
a story of redemption that you're telling when it comes
To Justin. Tucker if he comes back and then the
following seasons he plays at a high, level we can
just talk about how not only was his personal and
professional life rather but now look at him bounce back
and he's become what he's always. Been let's walk him
right Into, cannon get him a gold. Jacket he was
(01:15:13):
gonna be a First bally guy. Anyway but, RIGHT i,
mean you have a bunch of years to make. It
he certainly he's worthy of making, it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
All, RIGHT i hope you're. Right usually all, right that's for.

Too so let it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
Go who? CARES i, mean stop being so. Picky you're,
unbelievable you really.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
Are they got a stop spreading it all that they
should spread it. Out the problem is all the season's
end right at the same, time and you have like,
BASEBALL i mean you have basketball and hockey and at
the same, time and then baseball is in the middle of.
Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
Summer they just got to.
Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
Do a, job better job of cooperating and figuring out
how they made this sports coutn a.

jupiter thirteen Time grammy winning artists and Producer Forarrell williams's auction.
House what was it sold? For you ask two and
a half million for this rookie? Card yeay or?
Speaker 6 (01:17:54):
Nay Bucky, Brooks, ooh that's a.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
Lie twitterings for a rookie card is a.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
Lot this forts memorabile game is, Gone banana's gone through the.
Roof but, yeah that is a. LOT i can't do.
That So i'm gonna know on. That, no, no, no
you know.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
What i'm gonna go gave BECAUSE i want to meet
this guy who bought. It because this guy's got too much.
MONEY i mean he really. DOES i mean he's gonna
be giving it. AWAY i want to get him as
an investor for, something because you got to be out
of your freaking mind to pay not a two and
a half. MILLION i would pay two dollars for a.
Card what are you gonna do with? It the guy
needs some help big. Time well speaking, speaking you, know
(01:18:31):
cure the sick with that? Money, really sure the? Sick
they'll be playing baseball? Cards well, fair, Point well we're
gonna move from.
Speaker 7 (01:18:39):
Baseball we're gonna go moving overseas if you catch WHAT
i mean with THE. Nfl, so THE nfl is playing
more games during the regular season, overseas which means season
ticket holders may very well lose a home.
Speaker 6 (01:18:51):
Date yeah your, Nay Andy, FURMAN i say.
Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
NAY i know you want to put YOUR nfl flag
in various countries across the.
Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
World but point this, is If i'm gon see a ticket,
HOLDER i. LIVE i live for.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
THAT i pay for these Tickets i'm not going to
be built for that, game BUT i want to see
my eight, games maybe nine. GAMES i know you're taking
a game away from.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
ME i don't think it's.
Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
Fair, no it's, fine it's. Fine we we gru in
the game.
Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
Internationally so to, me it makes a lot of sense
as a small sacrifice for ownership for a bigger game
monetarily down the, road because that money's gonna come in
a major way when it comes to THE tv.
Speaker 7 (01:19:29):
Deals all, right, Sweet well you know, what, Guys i'm
going to give you a little little fun. One your
pick on this ONE Nba All Star, GAME Mlb All

boring me to. Tears Just i'll find A netflix series to.
Speaker 1 (01:19:53):

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Things i'm with.
Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
Him i'm gonna stay home IF i want to watch
the Game i'm watch ON tv at home, because to be,
honest there's nothing exciting about those two.
Speaker 6 (01:20:02):

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Day i'll the bitch all the way To murphy and
he hits a high beat drive back Color. Field there go.
Speaker 8 (01:21:02):
A Grand slam and The rains take a charging. Lead
they're in the seventh inning on the Grand slam By.
Murphy it's now six One.
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
Rains how do you like?
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
That Sean Murphy's Grand slam from The braves courtesy of
The Braves Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
Network on the, play To day was brought to you
by Tire.
Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Iraq for over forty, years Ti iraq has been helping
customers find the right tires for, how what and where they.
Drive Shift fast and free back by Free road has
a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire. Installation
tire iraq Dot com the way tire buying should. Be all,
right let's get rolling right. Now a little offense in
(01:21:42):
The National Football. League we talked defense a little bit last.
Week offense today THE, Nfl Bucky brooks has twelve. Teams
twelve teams with new offensive play. Callers last year it was.
Sixteen why such a turnover every single year with that, position.
Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Well on, offense because those guys are one that are.
Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Getting the head jobs and you have to have multiple
assistants ready to take over play calling. Duties when you
have a lot of, success your offensive play caller is
going to be plucked as a head.
Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
Coach that's just the way the ownership sees.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
It they believe that offensive, guys for whatever, reason are
smarter than defensive. Guys, really that's where the pool comes. From,
Yeah like there's a, belief you, know the created the,
creativity the Wizardry they feel like you got to have
the play called to be the head coach, because as
it's been told to me multiple, times if we hire
a play caller as a head, coach we guarantee. Stability
(01:22:35):
as long as he's in the, building the playbook's going
to be the same for the. Quarterback that's why you
go offense as opposed to. Defense if you have a
defensive head. Coach they believe that if the coordinator has
success with the, quarterback he's going to leave and your
quarterback is left with nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
Interesting that's the.
Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
Belief, well, okay they got four rookie head, coaches and
these rookie head coaches are going to be expected to
handle play calling as. Well they Are Ben jonson with The,
Bears Brian schottenheimen with The Dallas, Cowboys Liam cohne of
The Jacksonville, Jaguars Kellen moore of The.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
Saints All, right.
Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
How difficult is it to do, both especially for a
rookie head.
Speaker 4 (01:23:13):
Coach really difficult, because, look the job requirement is so
much different than what you used to do as the play.
Caller when you're the offensive play, caller you're worried about
your side of the, ball But you may not be
worried about the overall management of the, game meaning how
the offense, plays how does that impact the defense and
(01:23:34):
the special. Teams you're just trying to ring up as
many points as you. Can your thought all over the.
Yard you're not really worried about winning more so than
making SURE i.
Speaker 1 (01:23:43):
Impress with my.
Speaker 4 (01:23:44):
Offense when you move up to the head, coach now
you got to think about all of the other. Stuff
how DO i manage the? Game how DO i call
the game best to make sure my defense is? Protected,
okay defense has it under? Control CAN i just cruise
into the finish line with my you, know my offense
kind of be inefficient but not really exposing themselves by
(01:24:05):
trying to attempt exposive.
Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
Plays all of that do you throw into the throwing and.
All it's a.
Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
Lot it's a lot to, manage just a lot to.
Handle and their administrative duties that come along with being
the head coach that also make it very very difficult
to be great as a first time guy doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:22):
All, yeah those news conferences are. Killers you got to
go after the.
Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
Game you got to do The monday follow, Up you
got to do the midweek news. Conference it's just just
a KILLER i think they're doing On friday. Too SOMETIMES
i just and really nothing is, said but you got
to show. Up it's part of THE nfl. Deal that's
what you. Do, now let's go one by one for a.
Second right, Now Ben johnson use the term. Wizardry, yeah
he was labeled kind of like a wizard when he
(01:24:46):
was In detroit with The.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Lions, okay so now he's going to.
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
Try to take that that wizardry over To chicago and
work with the twenty twenty four number one draft pick
And Caleb. Williams but there's gonna be so many demands
on him as a head, coach he might find it
hard to devote as much time to putting together an
offensive game plan as he did In.
Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
Detroit is that? Possible it could very well. Be he
may relinquish.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
ME i know he's not going to relinquish the offensive
nook because he. Is that's how we got the, job
being the wizard of, offense, Right so you can't relinquish
that job as other head coaches do at.
Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
TIMES i don't see him doing.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
That how it's going to manage to juggle the head
coaching tasks and live up to the expectations that is
expected right now In.
Speaker 4 (01:25:30):
Chicago it's hard and he's not going to have an
extended grace period when it comes to learning on the.
Fly there are people that believe The bears are going
to be in the conversation in the mix as a title.
Contender that's normally not how it goes, down but maybe
it happens with their. Talent he's going to do a
really good job of delegating and some of the things
(01:25:50):
That i've learned from being an assistant or being a
scout under Coach, Homegren Mike congreen And seattle was even
though he was the head coach In Grand poob who
did everything and call, plays there's an offensive coordinator who
was assigned to organize, everything installing in, meetings go through
it over the course of the practice with the head
(01:26:11):
coach being aware of what was going, on and then
the head coach would either call the game or he
was signed off on what he wanted call during the
game to make it. Happen he'd be very similar situations
in these other spots where you have a more experienced
play color playing, it but you have the guy who's
the quote unquote figurehead managing the puppet show that's really going.
Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
On all, Right, well we.
Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
MOVE i MEAN i think they'll do. Well BUT i
think the whole key right now is what's between the
ears Of Caleb. WILLIAMS i, mean he came out with
that book Saying chicago's a place where quarterbacks. Die he
backtracked that pretty. Good but you, KNOW i don't think
that went overwhelmed with the, organization maybe even with his.
Teammates you, know he's got a proof to the world
right now that he could turn that around because he
(01:26:55):
may be the one that's dying there In.
Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
Chicago, yeah He's, look there's a lot of pressure on.
Him the pressure is not only, internal it's, external the
pressure to be the best player in the. Class when
you look up, me you see jayde And daniels and
he looks like his slow. Motion for, him he is
wise beyond his years of. Expertise but For Keathy, williams
like all that is, gone that grace. Period do you
(01:27:18):
expect him to be great from day? One no, haircuffs limited,
mistakes those are the things that we're looking. For can
they get to the point where they're not beating themselves
before you can really focus on attacking the.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
Opponent that's where they are right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
Now all, Right i'm going to move along out to
The Dallas america's, team The Dallas, cowboys WHERE i may
want to be a cheerleader one day at four hundred
bucks in Pop why?
Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
Not?
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Really you, know If Joe burrow could wear a backlist,
JACKET i could be a, cheerleader.
Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
Right Brian. Schottenheimer Brian.
Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Schottenmeyer schottenheimer was the offensive COORDINATOR i think For mike.
McCarthy so the move over. THERE i think the positive
is that he knows the. Roster that's the. Good outside
is that offense looked. Terrible it really did at times.
Anyway and the last TIME i Believe schottenheimer called plays
(01:28:09):
was back when he was With, seattle so he really
didn't call many of the.
Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Plays.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
SMOKE i think McCarthy call the plays right In, dallas
it Wasn't, schottenheimer although he was called offensive.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
Coordinator, yeah but.
Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
The same, thing the one, thing a few things that
are In Braan schotheimer's. Favor he knows the, team he
knows the, warts but he also knows the guys that.
Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
Can blossom and flourish under his system.
Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
Too he has a relationship already with the, quarterback and
that helps him because if you can coach the, Quarterback,
hord you can coach the rest of the, Team. Hord
and if the quarterback believes in what you're, doing he's
gonna try his best to have a success and all that.
Stuff this is interesting just because it is about creating
(01:28:55):
a seamless transition where you're able to kind of hand
it off and go back back and. Forth what works
For shottenheimer Is Matt eberflus being able to handle the.
Defense former head coach on, defense you can, tell, hey,
man you.
Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Handle that, SIDE i got this. Side come to.
Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
Me i'll make the bigger decisions in terms of. Gameplay
but it frees something to really spend more of his
time working on offense as posed.
Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
Defense, WELL i would say, this you know as well
AS i, do and you know better than. Me the
fact that it's all about.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
Personnel so they get back a Healthy Dak, prescott that's a.
Plus they GOT Cd, lamb who's their number one. Guy
but they got a number two guy right now or
one a guy And George, pickens so that's gonna take
a lot of pressure OF.
Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
C D.
Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
Lamb SO i think right then and, there it's going
to really. Help that's going to improve. Themselves they they
got to get a better running, GAME i. Think but
other than, that with Cdee lamb And George, pickens they
got to start of something good over.
Speaker 1 (01:29:45):
THERE i think they do have a start of something.
Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Good there's a solid foundation in, place and if he
follows his dad's retch, Speed Marty schottenheimer, believed then a
few things needed.
Speaker 1 (01:29:55):
To go well for you to.
Speaker 4 (01:29:56):
Win you got to run the ball of favally because
you can control the. Game gotta play defense because that's
essential to be able to take the ball. Back and then,
finally you just got to make sure you master the.
Dbos don't give up, turnovers don't allow the ball tof
over your head on, defense don't make silly. Mistakes you
do those things that will take you to the fourth
courter and you'll be able to win every.
Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Game All, Right you talk about, Pressure this guy's got.
Pressure i'll talk About John martin With John morton with
The Detroit, lions because he was the assistant Where Ben
johnson was and now he's got to kind of match
What Ben johnson. Did now he's got players no doubt
about that Because Jared goff's. There jared goff great, story
was a cast off from The. Rams he was AN
(01:30:37):
mvp candidate with The. Lions other than, that can he do?
IT i mean he had a great teacher And Ben?
Johnson can he do What Ben johnson?
Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
Did it's gonna Be it's gonna be hard Because John
morton And David, shaw and they come from old School
West coast offensive, tree and even though they may keep
some of the, plays they're not gonna know when dial
up certain plays and certain. Situations they also want necessarily
know how certain plays acinuate the ability for the offensive
(01:31:11):
players to make.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
Plays, so, yeah this is a tough.
Speaker 4 (01:31:14):
One this is a challenging one to do Because David
shaw And John mooren come from vastly different. Backgrounds and
can they structure the offense because remember this offense was,
fast physical and. Fun are we going to get the
fun element because it was impression to make sure that
this team always operates using the fund model reversus trick plays.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
Exotics do they have that this? Year?
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
Yeah it's, INTERESTING i think the big question right, now
and we didn't mention this as far as one of
the four rookie head. Coaches But i'm going back to
The Houston texans right now because you got a quarterback
there IN. Cj stroud who was a talented quarter but
no doubt about. That but yet last year was year
two and we're going to talk about sophomore slumps a
little bit, later but his interception totals, later it went
(01:32:00):
from five and o three to twelve last. Year and
who's this Guy Nick. Kayley he's like the offensive coordinator right.
NOW i, mean and this guy's got no game.
Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
Calling or play calling. Experience that to me is a
major question right down. There Dimico, RYANS i got a
lot of respect for, him but that had to be
someone better out. There this Guy kaylee was a Former
rams tight ends coach and now he's going to call.
PLAYS i got a problem with.
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
THAT i, mean you can't get, experiences get. Experienced and
so this is one Where.
Speaker 4 (01:32:34):
Dimico ryans is trust on him to keep de terminology
just saying so the quarterback can play, fast but find
a way to, refreshing freshen up the offense a little.
Bit what kind of tweaks and little things we can
do to add to it to make it a little more.
Effective that's what it really comes down.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
To All, Right so you think they'll do, WELL i, mean, WELL. Cj,
stroud is it a situation where people knew, him they
knew what he's going to. Do they have a lot
of film on him after that first, year so it
was a lot tough for year number two Form is
that why it.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
Was or he just?
Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
Regressed, no it's just, look it is.
Speaker 4 (01:33:10):
Tough the league is tough because defensive coordinators adapt and.
Adjusts if you hitting them with deep balls one, year
they're gonna take that, away make you win with, short short.
Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
Passes that's this is how they get down.
Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
RIGHT i hear.
Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
You let's took one of the guys has one of
the toughest jobs As Enoughens coinita right now as an
head coach as Well Kellen.
Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
Moore who's his? QUARTERBACK i mean really he doesn't. Know
but there In car's.
Speaker 1 (01:33:37):
Gone they don't believe In tyler, shop tell the chef's the.
Quarterback With Spencer, radler they had a. Chance they.
Speaker 4 (01:33:46):
Looked they took that for a spin around the block
last year and they didn't. Impress so that's why they
win this year's draft and got a Player Tayler. SHOCK
i Think Tyler chef's gonna have every opportunity to be the,
guy and if he's to, do he has the talent
to make it.
Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
Happen he's an older, quarterback so his maturity is.
Speaker 4 (01:34:04):
There i'ma be honest with, you like his success comes
down to his courage in the. Pocket is he gonna
be tough enough to stand in there amid the? Fire
because if you can stand in and face the, fire
well he has the talent to punish you for coming after.
Him but the first half of the season is going
to be all about assessing how tough and courageous he
(01:34:25):
is dealing with multiple rushers coming out.
Speaker 2 (01:34:28):
Here all, right let's talk about Your Jacksonville. Jaguars Liam khne,
okay AND i think the major question In jacksonville right
now is can the quarterback Situation Trevor, lawrence who was
the first overall pick out Of clemson back in twenty twenty,
one can he possibly or probably live up to that
(01:34:50):
can't miss tag that was given to. Him he's not
gonna play for his fourth head coach in five.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Years that's not a good.
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Thing AND i know he's got, talent but Can liam
get the talent out of.
Speaker 1 (01:35:03):
Him we'd like to think.
Speaker 4 (01:35:06):
So the one thing they've done to try to upgrade
the people around him from play calling we talked About
Liam cohn to the, playmakers all the wide receivers that
have come on.
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
Board Diami.
Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
BROWN i mean you think ABOUT Btj Travis. Hunter they
have more speed and, firepower the, Backfield Travis aten for sure,
suiting but y'all touton coming, over offensive line, revamped so
all the things they're there for. Him he's, protected he has,
playmakers he has a play, caller all the excuses.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Off so you think this is the? Year could you
make a?
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Prediction?
Speaker 4 (01:35:43):
OH i think this. YEAR i think they go to the.
PLAYOFFS i think they're gonna be much better than people.
Anticipate it's a team that didn't Play, look they didn't play.
Well the record is what the record. Is they didn't
play well when they had. Opportunities but they will lock it.
Up they'll play.
Speaker 1 (01:35:57):
Better and that'll give them a chance to win a
bunch of games in the fourth.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
Quarter If i'm not, MISTAKEN i Think game two is Against.
CINCINNATI i, MEAN i don't have an in front of.
Me the, schedule my.
Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Correction yeah that, is, yeah, yeah that's that's what they
call THE bta. Game They're ANDY, bta built to, ass
built to ass is coming BECAUSE i know that that
is The Andy Furman Bucky Brooks, bowl so that we
will be called THE bta.
Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
Game, WELL i will tell you. THIS i mean the
media people around. Town you, know the way they predict
what the team's going to, do which is the most
ridiculous thing is to waste the. Time it really.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Is but they say they The bagels really need to
bounce out of the game and be two and. Zero
first of, all they never bounce out of the. Gate
and last year they listen and open it to The
New England. Patriots but you, Know i'm telling, you And
i've told, people don't Underestimate jacksonville this. Year, REALLY i
don't care where the game's being. Played jacksonville's going to be.
Tough they really, are and with no defense they have
(01:36:53):
no defense To, bengals they really. Don't So trevor could
really pay the stats that.
Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Day maybe maybe maybe we'll see got a long way to.
Go but, yeah that's that's one That i'm looking forward.
Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
To that should be a big. Game it's a good.
Game i'll get a chance to go To. Cincinnati i'll
treat you to some Skyline. Chile i'm not gonna eat,
it but i'll treat. You i'll pay for.
Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
You i'll treat you to something. ELSE i.
Speaker 1 (01:37:19):
Think that'd be good for.
Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
YOU i don't know about. That we'll get something. Else,
Really we'll go To Jeff ruby's the night before if
you want to do.
Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
That, okay we'll figure it.
Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
Out see all, Right, well, okay AND i want to
check Into Las Vegas. RAIDERS i, mean you Got Pete
carroll right. NOW i Love Pete, CARROLL i really. DO
i wish him. WELL i think he'll do well over.
THERE i Got gino over.
Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
There But Schip, KELLY i, mean this guy bounces around
more than a.
Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
BASKETBALL i, mean wasn't the offensive coordinator At Ohio state?
Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
Recently was that his last?
Speaker 4 (01:37:49):
Job that was his last? Job, yeah that was his last.
Job he's trying to bounce back and come back from
all of.
Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
That she wants to be a head coach. AGAIN i
guess in THE.
Speaker 4 (01:37:57):
Nfl i'm, sure, Yeah i'm sure he wants, WELL i,
MEAN i don't know if he wants to be a head.
COACH i just think that he wanted a different set of,
responsibility is a different, role and the, league paying what it,
pays have an opportunity to coach the talent that he
has now asking genty some of the play. Makers, yes
Brock powers to, me makes a lot of sense that
(01:38:21):
he decided to come.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
Back you, know he went to the right place because
if he wants to be a head, coach you, Know
Pete carroll's like seventy, Three what has he got another
year or two and then he's gould to pack it,
In you would, think so he might be the coach in, waiting.
Speaker 1 (01:38:36):
Might, be but he might have a. Chance he might
have a chance to kind of swipe the. Job all.
Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Right, now let's go to The Seattle. Seahawks what is
The Clinton kubiak's goal in the plays over? There can
he Help Sam donald on last season's come?
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
BACK i, MEAN i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
Know Geno smith is gone and that's a good thing
because is now reunited with With Pete, carroll which is
a good.
Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
Thing BUT i don't. KNOW i worry about The Seattle.
SEAHAWKS i think they're on a. Downslide what do you?
Speaker 1 (01:39:09):
Think?
Speaker 4 (01:39:11):
Uh, yeah this is a tough one With, seattle just
trying to figure it all. Out kuba brings a great
system and a system that is very, similar is very
similar to What Sam donald had a lot of success In,
minnesota but different play. Caller and the thing it really
comes down to is do you believe in the? Quarterback,
(01:39:33):
yeah if you believe in the, quarterback then you can
find a way to make it. Happen but you have
to believe in the. Quarterback AND i just. DON'T i
just don't. KNOW i mean that's the, meaning of, COURSE
i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
Know he was a forty Nine ers pass game coordinator And,
donald believe it or, not was a backup to Brock
party at the.
Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
Time when he was. There so he knows, him which
is a good.
Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
Thing he doesn't know, Him he does know, Him, Dad,
yeah that's off one.
Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Though that's next. Thing you know, me and you're gonna
give me a. FOOTBALL i mean it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (01:40:04):
WORK i, mean you, KNOW.
Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
I wouldn't even know which end is. Up it's the,
deal all. Right He's Bucky, Brooks I'm Andy. Firman get
him on ex That Bucky brooks Had Andy FURMAN. Fsr
we got the blame. Game at the end of this,
hour and of course the sophomore slump we talked them about.
That we're gonna get into it a little more heavily right.
Now the sophomore slump is ready to. Attack that's, next
is it?
Speaker 3 (01:40:26):
Real, well we'll get to that end just about a.
Minute good, morning. Everybody this Is Fox Sports, Sunday Fox Sports.
Ready He's Bucky. Brooks I'm Andy.
Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Furrman of, course the blame game will be coming up
at about twelve thirteen minutes from, now but right NOW
i will let you know that shortly after our, show our.
Speaker 3 (01:40:41):
Podcast will be going. Up if you missed any of today's,
show be sure to check out the.
Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
Podcast how just Search Fox Sports radio wherever you get your,
podcast and be sure to follow and review the podcast
and rated not, one not, two not three lebron.
Speaker 3 (01:40:56):
But five five.
Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
Stars, again just Search Fox Sports ready wherever you get your,
podcasts and you'll see today's show posted right after we
get off the. Air, NOW i want to talk about
the sophomore slump and. SPORTS i think this is something
but That Sports illustrated started years. Ago do you agree
that there's such a? Thing do you believe in? It
and have you ever seen? It the sophomore slump second
(01:41:18):
year players in the.
Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
League, LOOK i believe that there's something to, that and
it's not necessarily the slump is the league catching up
with your. Game what happens is in the, offseason every
team does a self, scout but what they also do
is they study the top, teams their top schemes that
(01:41:41):
the opposing teams, run and the top. Players and the
more familiarity you have with a, player the better it
is for you to be able to build a game
plan to defend that, player to neutralize the.
Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
Player, interesting a lot of times that is.
Speaker 4 (01:41:55):
The byproduct that you see gods struggling because they haven't
adapted to the counters that if they're seeing the new.
Speaker 2 (01:42:01):
Tactics, okay so now we do, have as we mentioned
in the previous, segment a lot of new play. Callers
so these, sophomores these second year players that we'll be
playing under those play callers will have to adapt and
one in, PARTICULAR i think a lot of eyes will
be on. THERE a lot of expectations are right there
on this man's. Shoulders Caleb, williams The Chicago bears, quarterback
(01:42:24):
because he Has Ben johnson coming in as a new
head coach and play. Caller and you mentioned that the
interior offensive line has been. Reconstructed they that's improving veterans.
There but here's the. Deal What i've been reading About Ben.
Johnson his offenses are very, prolific very. Structured Can Caleb
williams follow that structure after last season where he took
(01:42:48):
a league worst sixty eight sacks last?
Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
YEAR i, mean that's a big.
Speaker 4 (01:42:55):
Problem and that's the thing that was an issue For
Kayla williams out of. Us he could he play within
a structured. Offense he Loves he's a big play, hunter,
right so he wants to chase the big, play and
sometimes he'll drift and he'll wait and wait and wait
on the big play to, happen as opposed to, just,
hey sticking to what the play gives. Up take the open.
(01:43:16):
Receiver if it's, checkdown take the, checkdown but just allow
the offense to work for. You if he does, that
then he can have a lot of. Success that's the, thing,
though is he disciplined enough to play within the structure
of the offense that would determine to bear success this?
Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
Season you, Know i'm going to mention something About Kyla
williams AND i may be way off base.
Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Here he's playing FOR usc.
Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
AND i think they lost the. Game, whatever it wasn't
he Crying after the, game he went to the stands
with his mom and. DAD i watched it ON.
Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
Tv, yeah it was not a great.
Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
Look, no and here's the guy facing a, team the.
LEADER i get. It that's a big. Loss but you,
Know i'm not saying crying is, bad but maybe not in,
public maybe in the. LOCKER i, MEAN i.
Speaker 3 (01:44:01):
Just, thought AND tv picked it, up they wouldn't let it.
Go they wouldn't let it. Go And i'm saying to,
myself If i'm a guy in THE, nfl that had
to be one guy, somewhere a personnel guy that, SAID
i ain't touching this.
Speaker 2 (01:44:12):
Guy i'm not drafting. Him you, know he's, weak he's
not a good.
Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
LEADER i, mean there was a lot of conversation about,
him you, know and to think about his, behavior his body.
Language you saw it play out a few different times
where we saw him on the, sideline slump, posture just
bad body, language not that becoming of not that of a,
leader someone that you anticipate being a great. Leader, yeah
(01:44:35):
SO'S i mean it's a. PROBLEM i, mean it is
a problem when you don't get that kind of leadership
that performers that. Production but more, importantly the projection in
terms of projecting the championship are he doesn't give you.
Speaker 2 (01:44:49):
THAT i would, Say i'll give them the benefit of
the doubt because he's got. TALENT i think the improvements
and protection on that line will make him a better
quarterback this.
Speaker 3 (01:44:57):
Year that's WHAT i.
Speaker 1 (01:44:59):
SAY i. AGREE i, mean they can help, them but.
Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
To make the playoffs in that, division that could be a.
Stretch that's a tough. Division Greed Band, DETROIT.
Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
I, mean like, YEAH i mean it's a Tough it's,
tough but every division is. Tough some of those teams
are gonna come.
Speaker 1 (01:45:15):
Back.
Speaker 4 (01:45:15):
Detroit we were just talking, about Like John morton having
to adapt and adjust to be in the play, Caller
David shaw being in the. Building but they want to
run an offense that's completely.
Speaker 1 (01:45:25):
Different they say they're gonna stay with the. Same but
we all have our favorite.
Speaker 4 (01:45:28):
Things we got our pet, calls our signature plays that we,
love and it's gonna change the tenor of the offense
in some, way shape or.
Speaker 1 (01:45:35):
Form doesn't mean it's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (01:45:37):
WORSE i think it's gonna be hard to surpass the
numbers that were put up.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
Previously.
Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
Though all, right let's talk About Marvin Harrison, junior the
wide receiver for The Arizona cardinals sophomore. Slump yeah and
n And i'll say this last year he had eight
eighty five receiving.
Speaker 3 (01:45:52):
Yards he had eight. Touchdowns they ain't bad for a.
Rookie that ain't too.
Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
Bad, HOWEVER i would say this your, GUY i know
you love this, Guy Brian Thomas.
Speaker 3 (01:46:00):
Jr i'm my league.
Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
Neighbors they were first year guys and they had better
years Than Marvin Harrison. Junior and maybe that's why the
pressure is on him right now to do.
Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
Better, yeah the pressures on because there are some who,
believe you, know he was kind of given a pass
throughout the draft, process didn't, run didn't work, out we
gave we put a lot of currency on His Das's
hall Of fame status in his, game and when you
when we did, that maybe we just neglected to truly
(01:46:34):
look at his overall game and those. Things so we'll
see if he's able to bounce. Back but, yeah there's
a lot of pressure on he gotta.
Speaker 1 (01:46:40):
Play he has to. Play he got to play at
a big, level at a high.
Speaker 4 (01:46:42):
Level he And Calum murray for whatever, reason just did
not click or connect on the.
Speaker 2 (01:46:48):
Field they will this. Year i'm telling, YOU i think
it's gonna be a big year for. Him All, right
you got a defensive end on The Arizona. Cardinals but
name Of Darius. Robinson, okay he was selected at the
twenty seventh overall. Pick he's six' five to, eighty five
and really he SUFFERED a kf Injury in august that's
sidelined him last year for all but the six games of.
(01:47:11):
The year then his mother passed Away. IN october i
give him. A pass, i mean he said at, the
time who was the hardest year of.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
His life you got to give him a pass. For
that you just, have to don't?
Speaker 4 (01:47:21):
You?
Speaker 1 (01:47:21):
THINK yeah i.
Speaker 4 (01:47:23):
THINK so, I mean i think you can give people
pass when they're dealing with issues in. Those things but
you need the bounce back to, show up and you
need the bounce back to show, Up immediately so you
get a pass for. Whatever transpire but the thing about,
the league the league is about consistency in which which
player is going to show up each and. Every week
the one that can give you big, time production the
one that you'd. Rarely see that's. The trick can he
(01:47:44):
consistently produce and delivery like we expected.
Speaker 2 (01:47:47):
Him to but he's, got help. You see and one
guy can't do. It alone that's the beautiful thing. About
football i've always looked at line players like a chain.
Speaker 3 (01:47:54):
Link fence, you know you.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
Work together if one guy goes Down, like domino's the
all go down AND, the nba one guy could maybe
carry a team on.
Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
His back.
Speaker 2 (01:48:01):
It's tough but, one guy like, You Know halli burton
basically carried the paces most of. The year but what
they did Now, in arizona they beefed up the defense, With, Sweat,
tomlinson campbell they got a first round Pick And Nolan walton.
Nolan third that's gonna help the pass RUSH and i
think that's going to Help the cardinals. All OVER so
(01:48:22):
i think they'll be Better, AND robinson i give him.
A pass I think i love a. BETTER year i
don't see him falling into the.
Speaker 3 (01:48:27):
Sophomore. Slump.
Speaker 4 (01:48:29):
No yeah and also the biggest gain that most players
make is between their first and, Second years so it's
funny we're talking about a. Sophomore slump it could be
a sophomore triumph because what happens is you now know
what the. League is is one thing to come into
it anticipating what the league. Is like it's another thing
to play a, full season see what, it is see where,
(01:48:51):
you're strong at where you, were weak and go.
Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
To work the.
Speaker 4 (01:48:54):
Guys that take advantage, of that that have a detailed
plan for how to improve upon their, rookie season those
are the ones that have major success.
Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
GOING forward.
Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
I had no idea looking At The dallas cowboys roster
that the offensive tackle from a, year ago, This Kid.
TYLER geiden i didn't realize he was three twenty two and, Six' eight,
SO i mean i.
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
Got to believe that. He's got it he's. GOT the,
package i mean he'll.
Speaker 2 (01:49:19):
Get it, done you know for them to say that
he may be looking to go into a sophomore slump
and he had a bid you he'll just get USED.
To the nfl he'll be fine, at that size he's
got he's got the tools right.
Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
There at six a. Three twenty two?
Speaker 4 (01:49:34):
Don't you agree he Doesn't decide in dallas when they're
when they're.
Speaker 1 (01:49:38):
At their best they have a.
Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
Big offensive line they want, to bully you they want
to mash you at the, point of attack and they're,
huge and athletic and they're getting back to who they,
want to be which is a ground and bound team
that can throw it when the opportunity to.
Speaker 1 (01:49:51):
Presents this up but they want to be able to
live in, the running Game.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
LIVE on yeah i think, as a rookie he switched.
Speaker 2 (01:49:56):
During the season he, started eleven games he went from
right tackle, to let tackle and then he was a
TWENTY ninth, pick i think and he started in, those
eleven games but he committed eighteen penalties.
Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
And has protection and, that's THAT'S normal?
Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
Isn't i MEAN it, JUST i mean i would think
the committing penalties also could go concurrently with just not
hearing the calls a snap because of the crowd, Noise,
at times right isn't? THAT a, problem i mean you
play in college and maybe not be as noisy as
it IS.
Speaker 3 (01:50:27):
In, the nfl, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:50:29):
Is noisy and sometimes you have to go.
Speaker 4 (01:50:30):
Home solid count sometimes you have to double count it
where you go through the cadence two.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Times before you really.
Speaker 4 (01:50:37):
REALLY snap it a few different strategies that you're going
to have to do it without without making it very
very complex.
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
With the, offense all right TELL me about i know
you know This Wide. Receiver xavier leggott is? That His
Name leget carolina Panthers, Second.
Speaker 1 (01:50:57):
P yeah So.
Speaker 4 (01:50:59):
Everyone loves xavior they love him first because of his.
DOWN home, dialect i Mean He's, from south, carolina but
man that country comes out in. A crazy fashion so
people love to. Hear him talk but, on the field he's.
A terrific pro he's a guy who's more OF a
what i call a catch. And run player you want
to get him the ball, on the, move crossing routes screens.
(01:51:24):
Versus those things because his, speed is real, his physical presence,
his big body his rugged demeanor like he, goes after
it he, runs through contact and for a team that
CAN be what i would, call low, risks high efficiency big,
yield on return he. Could be big he could be
(01:51:46):
big for Them because the pathers want to make the
Game Easy. For bryce young the best way to do
it is to have a bunch of intermediate route runners
that can make those, those intermediate passes those short games
turn into long games.
Speaker 1 (01:51:58):
With, their talents.
Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
Okay here's a deal. WITH this kid i know he's
his thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Second DRAFT pick and i know after one year you don't.
Have a legacy but. Here's the deal he had seven,
drops LAST year but i remember this. One in particular.
It went viral he had that one drop that drew
That killed the panthers push for That upset in December Over.
The philadelphia eagles they could Have beat the Eagles, back
in december but he had a drop in that game.
(01:52:24):
That killed him and then After that because i'm sure
he had nightmares, after That Game the carolina panthers drafted
with the eighth pick this. Year a receiver so what does, that?
TELL you, right I mean if i'm THE guys like
i better start busting my Rear end otherwise i'm out.
Speaker 3 (01:52:40):
OF a, job, i.
Speaker 1 (01:52:42):
Mean look it. Tells you, there but man all you
can do is control what.
Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
You can control you can control how, You show up
you can control how you how you work out when.
You show up AND that's what i would tell all
those guys that are coming, into those situations whether they like,
you or not you can. Force the hand you can
make them play performing at. A high level that that.
That's the controllable then you, Just, acknowledge like okay this
(01:53:06):
is gonna be.
Speaker 1 (01:53:07):
A hard one gotta, get through.
Speaker 2 (01:53:08):
It all right Another Wide Receiver. NEW england patriots, I
mean uh i mean he's got some. Problems of it
if you're a Receiver, on the patriots you get. Some,
Major Problems. Uh jalen, polk all right they got a
new coaching, staff right now we're basically looking on the
defensive side, of the ball not so much on the
offensive side. Of The ball drake may you're A Guy. For,
north carolina uh here's a guy that's obviously the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:53:31):
Of.
Speaker 2 (01:53:31):
The future Uh They got, stefan diggs though so. That's gonna,
Help But, UH jalen polk i.
Speaker 3 (01:53:37):
WORRY about you i. Really do.
Speaker 1 (01:53:40):
Worries why are you so? WORRIED about him i don't
know what his.
Speaker 3 (01:53:43):
Future looks like.
Speaker 4 (01:53:45):
TO be fine i think you just trust in, the
entire process the collaboration between, players and coaches coaches and coaches.
And player player you just, gonna line up put your,
best out there try and keep his simple form so they,
can play fast and then you hope that your talent
allows you.
Speaker 2 (01:53:59):
TO win out i was he had twelve receptions for,
the entire year eighty seven yards but only. Thirty three,
targets but again you know it was a rebuilding. DEAL
last year i think now. New head coach, obviously defensive
minded but a new head coach. WILL change Things I
think new england's. Could be tough there'll be a. SURPRISE
this Year I think new england can make the.
Speaker 3 (01:54:19):
Playoffs this year what?
Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
DO you, think i.
Speaker 4 (01:54:21):
Mean you're annoying a lot of teams. AS playoff, teams
i mean you only. Get seven spots so based, on
your calculations You Got the jacksonville jaguars in and then you.
Got the page it's only five spots LEFT. In the
AFC so if i talk, to My Quarterbacks To gurus's
Josh Allen, is pat mahomes you Want to throw.
Speaker 1 (01:54:39):
BURROW in, There, i mean justinet a, lot Of.
Speaker 4 (01:54:42):
PEOPLE justin herbert i think you guaranteed them into yeah,
delto now, yeah so now how many spots?
Speaker 1 (01:54:48):
WE got left i.
Speaker 4 (01:54:50):
Mean not many you've given them all the way before
we EVEN. Got, to i well, You, little anxious yeah.
A little anxious i am twenty five days. Twenty, every
ready yeah everybody. Can't make it everyone doesn't make it.
To the tournament.
Speaker 2 (01:55:05):

Speaker 6 (01:55:35):
You ruin me it's.
Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
All, your fault no.
Speaker 10 (01:55:38):
It's your fault it is. All your fault maybe. It's
everyone's fault who. See the liar that's why there's, the
blame game. The blame game let's figure out.
Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
Who, to play yeah it's, the, Blame game right who?
Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
Are?
Speaker 3 (01:55:55):
Gonna blame patrick who? Were gonna? Play, let's play well let's.
Speaker 6 (01:55:59):
PLAY your game i got a funny.
Speaker 7 (01:56:01):
One for you SO With the nba draft the, night that,
happened it, was you know. A funk. Spectacle. All around
well in, the eleventh pick there was a Pick For.
The PORTLAND trailblazers who i think they trade. It doesn't
matter it was a Guy Named the cedric, Coward Was Selected,
So Adam, silver, cedric.
Speaker 1 (01:56:20):
Coward.
Speaker 7 (01:56:20):
YadA YadA Well ESPN's broadcast malika, andrews was saying right
after she, heard, that, pick said oh and It looks
Like Portland's. Getting colin coward, she, said that no.
Speaker 6 (01:56:33):
It's out, There in fact colin made a whole. Thing
and awesome but who do you blame?
Speaker 10 (01:56:40):
For?
Speaker 6 (01:56:40):
This debacle andy, You Go, First andy furman.
Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
Colin because he must be one hell of. A, basketball
player really they got. HIM mixed up I didn't know.
COLIN played hoops i really, didn't know that? DID you
know i.
Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
DIDN'T know that i think sometimes it happens you have
so many names that you're trying to remember and all the.
Different things on she just got like, a little. Sideways
that's all.
Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
Maybe she's, STUPID come, on i mean don't BE like
if i was at THE draft And I, SAID patrick, sweeker,
i mean really who the? Hell us out doesn't? Work
that way Who Is that mark?
Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
RAMSEY'S second pick i Mean what really jonas knocks third
pick more.
Speaker 6 (01:57:25):
Noticeable than, us but yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:57:27):
But, Next up Yeah So major league baseball rarely sees
a pitcher throw. A complete, game in fact Through, this
past friday only twelve have been thrown.
Speaker 6 (01:57:36):
This entire season who, Do? You blame bucky.
Speaker 1 (01:57:41):
Look the analytics as.
Speaker 4 (01:57:42):
They changed everything we don't test pictures to go the,
entire nine, games nine INNINGS and so i just blame
the way that they, become situational, players.
Speaker 1 (01:57:52):
Role players whatever it's just a new way of. PLAYING
the game i. DON'T like it i.
Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
Don't like it either's a.
Speaker 2 (01:57:57):
Specialization of baseball, BUT more over i think it has
to do with how much these. Guys get paid you
get these pitches, big time money and you, pitch them down,
like you know. To nine innings they're throwing one hundred and,
twenty plus bitches they're throwing their arm out and. They you,
go next thing you know that they're almost hanging. From
their shoulder so that's. What YOU do so i think
the specialization, and the salaries.
Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
That's the.
Speaker 7 (01:58:17):
Deal, all, right well second, with baseball guys the extra
inning move to place a runner on second base and.
The pitch clock these rules, Have people raving but why
we always thought baseball is the one sport.
Speaker 6 (01:58:30):
That is timeless who?
Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
Do?
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
YOU blame andy i. Blame the commissioner it's trying to.
Change the game don't. CHANGE the game i don't. Like
it whatsoever when you start, in tenth inning, guys on
second you sacrifice in the third and a fly ball
brings them in and you.
Speaker 3 (01:58:44):
Win the. Game that's ridiculous and what? About the stats
does the PITCHER get an era? DEAL on, that i,
mean come on you're. Playing the game.
Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
People love baseball why it's the only. Sport that's timeless,
there's no clock but now there. IS pitch's clock i.
Can't stand, IT oh man i think all the advancements.
Speaker 1 (01:59:01):
To me the game better has made it a what?
More watchable product getting the game? In and out the
game in and out, under three hours that's.
Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
What we want the, gameplay is faster, and for us
you don't want to spend all day.
Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
Looking at it. IT goes quicker i like. The new.
Speaker 3 (01:59:15):
RULES it works i heard them, Booing.
Speaker 1 (01:59:17):
YOU did buck i didn't. EVEN hear that i didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:59:21):
EVEN hear that i, Side, With you buck. I'm with,
You Oh please well i'm gonna.
Speaker 7 (01:59:29):
Pick this one and YOU said the nba can sign
free Agent starting, Midnight July Sixth so lebron james is.
Speaker 6 (01:59:35):
A free agent should He? Leave the lakers who?
Speaker 3 (01:59:39):
Do?
Speaker 6 (01:59:39):
YOU blame andy i just.
Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
Think he should? YOU know why i wanted to see
you go out. WITH another ring i wanted to do
even though, he hates rings and he said it's. NO
big whoop i know he wants. A championship ring he's
chased rings. All his life so.
Speaker 3 (01:59:50):
Let him go let a. Team get him have a
farewell too. With, That team.
Speaker 1 (01:59:53):
Go.
Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
LEBRON go.
Speaker 1 (01:59:57):
Yeah i think he's gonna. Con to chase he's gonna be,
a free agent but he's. Gonna be Back. He's a Laker.
He's a laker he's gonna Finish. FOR the lakers. I, think.
Speaker 6 (02:00:04):
So yeah he Is.
Speaker 3 (02:00:05):
EVERYTHING in la i. Guess he. Does you know.
Speaker 2 (02:00:08):
That's about it but, By the way bucky has always have.
A great week gang have. A good week countdown his.
Next right here stay With Us On. Fox sports Radio,
see you sunday
