Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Now let's go, stinking gee, let's go, big boy, let's go.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Are you okay?
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
You love that, don't you.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
That's the creepiest intements you've ever had on this program before.
Just go ahead, take over the show. I'm gonna sit
back and watch to night football. What by the way,
let me get the sun and that football update sixteen
to six. The Eagles lead it. There is nine minutes
to go in the game, and the Detroit Lions are now,
oh for what five? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
On fourth down? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
On fourth Do they consistently and constantly keep going forward
on fourth down? Even when they're in field goal range
and they haven't converted one of them? Jared Goff having
a night. He's turned it over a little bit. Haven't
been able to consistently get the running game going. Eagles,
you can say in control, but Detroit has a way
of pulling out these games late. We'll see sixteen six
(01:00):
Philly nine oh sixty? Go all right, go ahead?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
What what? What?
Speaker 5 (01:04):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
What? What are you so bitter about?
Speaker 5 (01:06):
I always have really, I could sum it up pretty quick, Chris,
I only have eight words for you, to be honest,
with you.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I always have any words.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Yeah, I'll give it to your real slow Miami Dolphins.
Miami Dolphins. That's four Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Uh huh number one. I think you owe me. That's
not the song.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's just Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers number one.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
Right, but you didn't know that the dolphinsto, so you
can't steal the Oilers song. Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. But
they're going to the do you know what? They're going
to the playoffs and they might make a run. They
could be in the AMC Championship game.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Who I just you really should apologize because I'm sorry.
You're right, No, you should.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Because now I am jumping on the dophin badwagon. John
Gruden's like, hey, if the Dolphins win their next to job.
Dan Orlovsky's like, if the Dolphins win their next to
blah blah blah, all of a sudden, all over social media, Every's.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Like, if the Dolphins win their next to what have
I been telling you?
Speaker 5 (02:23):
But yeah, you wrote, you wrote us off, and we
didn't be all right back?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Didn't right back, my friend, and.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I just.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Because you guys, you made my life miserable. You and
the listeners like, oh, this is why you don't know football.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
The Dolphins is the Dolphins that football? Now now who
doesn't know football? Huh now, who doesn't know football?
Speaker 5 (02:51):
And by the way, we should be better than four
and seven, you know that, right, you really should We
really should be like a six and five team, maybe
seven eighty four right now, that's what.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
We should be.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
But you know what, four and seven we have to
win out from here on out, which I told you
we're already six and seven. Let's just go ahead and
put us in six and seven. Let's just I would
What do you think we're gonna lose one of the No.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Way, you guys are on fire. You're rolling, we're rolling.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Now. That's my quarterback, that's your quarterback and your head coach.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Reverse psychology's killing me right now. Doesn't reverse psychology, I explain,
I told.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
You, you told us that you know what you were
so right. I'm sorry, You're right. That dominating performance today
over the Commanders, I mean, unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
No, it's just goes to it.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Even going be sarcastic all you want, it just goes
to show you for MVP where we're not even playing
our best football.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
They still go ahead and win.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
But you know what you're I can tell you you're
not sorry, you're doing OK.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
What do you need?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
What do you need me to prove it? It's just
funny that everybody all of a sudden jumping. I heard
you mention two people. I heard you mention John Gridden.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
Well that that's that's pretty good. Every minds, Yeah, that's everybody.
I didn't take a poll.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Of you, just social media. You act like you do
every single week. You just generalize from two people. No
good call, good call. You guys are rolling like can
Someone asked Arnie where he's going once the Dolphins win
the Super Bowl this season?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Vegas or Atlantic City? Good question, Tiger manning you.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
That's a great question. Great question. Uh, I'm thinking probably Vegas.
And you know what, good point here, I should probably
bet the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl right about now?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
What kind of odds could I get on that? Seriously?
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Because they really still have a they have to go
ten and seven to go ahead and make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
They have to Well, you you have an.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
You have a an app where you can look on
either FanDuel or draft Kings. Because you're in a sport
or you're in a city where sports wagering is legal,
so you don't have to say what odds can I get?
You can literally go on your phone and.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Look, well, yeah, and I did the math on the
chances of the Dolphins making the playoffs. No, no, I
was mathematically if the Dolphins go ten and seven, No,
if they go ten and seven, if I did the
math correctly, they'll have a.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
They'll have a forty one chance of making the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
To me, that's in yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yeah, well right now, it's like a half percent. But
I had to do the math, right, I have to.
I have to double You didn't have to do any math.
You what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
No, I did not. I did not go to.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Right here for you.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
We'll see what they did. Can you can someone look
it up for me then? And you know what, when
I do my own math, you give me crap. If
I say Patrick looking up, you give me crab. No
matter what I do, you give me crap. That that's okay.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
You can't.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
You can't bring me in a bad crap. You can't. No,
you're not supporting me. You're trying to put the double
jinx on me. But that's okay because your teams are miserable.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
That's what's going on.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
It's like, pretty amazing week.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
You've already been eliminated from the playoff phrase for twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
That's how bad your team is.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
So well, I mean I am looking at a stat
here that and in its current form, the Dolphins have
the same percentage of chance to make the playoffs as
the aforementioned Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
It's not true. Well now, yeah, the Dolphins have like
a half percent right now. Yes, it's less than yeah,
less than one yeah, less than percent.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
I mean, so it goes to show you that I'm
pretty much smarter than ninety nine percent of everybody else.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Absolutely, yeah, And I've been calling that talent.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
And the funny part is I've been called it when
they had less than a half percent of making the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
I'm like, put the math aside.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Sometimes you need somebody with a mathematical mind to figure
it out and explain to you guys, you you dummies,
the way it works.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
And boom, I probably gave.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
I told you it was gonna have when they probably
had like a quarter percent chance or an eight percent
chance of making the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
I mean they still have the exact same chance of
making the playoffs less than one as the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
And by the way, the Browns and Bengals are in
that mix.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Two. Yeah, I'm with you, they're in. They are in
the playoffs. Man, congratulations, what do you think maybe have
a chance to sneak up and get the six at
ten and seven?
Speaker 2 (07:21):
No, I just I just want to get it. And
it doesn't really make it difference.
Speaker 5 (07:24):
I mean, not any You see everybody else kind of
choking around.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Us, right, because, by the way, you did tell us
that it was already done, the AFC playoffs were set.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Did I say that, Oh yeah, for the season.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
No, no, no, you s well you've said you said
six of the eight divisions were decided, And just last
week you told us that the playoffs were set. Chargers
were slammed up. Jaguars at that point were slam dunk.
But no, no, no, man, oh.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Yeah, no, I said the Jaguars are a slam dunk
to make the playoffs at once again, who was right
about that? Look, I don't like to bring attention to
myself about being right all the time.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Gott that's all last thing I won? But again, who
looked good today?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
The Jaguars. Matter of fact, they look so good. Maybe
we should fire the saga for being a Charger fan.
They look so damn lousy. So once again I did.
And who told you that the Kansas City Chiefs weren't
good enough to.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Make the playoffs? I hate to bring attention to myself
again this guy did.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
But now all of a sudden, everybody is a tweeting, ay,
Chiefs aren't going to make the playoffs. Well, no, fool
in Sherlock. I told you that a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You didn't yet how far out of the playoffs right
now are the Chiefs that seventh seed?
Speaker 2 (08:31):
They are what one game out or something? Is that
what it is? You want to write them off when
they're one game out? Yeah, I'm writing them off. And
they opened up the letter.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
That's what he also you also, by the way, you
also wrote off the Baltimore Ravens, who improved it five
and five today?
Speaker 2 (08:45):
And how many games do they go to the playoffs?
They're the worst five and five team in the history
of football. That's I don't know.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
I watched a I watched it four and seven team
today that was pretty bad and found a way to
get a win, But congratulations, congratulations on your dub and
now your playoff clinching performance. It's gotta be a big moment.
Now you get to keep your quarterback that you try
to cut two weeks ago. You get to keep your
head coach that you try to fire. That's that's my
that's my coach. Now you do not see the insanity
(09:12):
in this.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
That's my coach, like you are.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Supposed to be, I mean, a respected thinker, right, a
respected member of the meet.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
I can't back my coach. That's my coach, man.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
And when you flop like a fish that just jumped
into isn't he the chemistry tutor? Yeah, he's the tutor.
That what's he doing on the side? Say even know
what he's doing? I mean, dude, Sometimes sometimes there are
things that you say that people.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
That's a complement when you call somebody a kevin Like
if I said, playing you looks so smart, you look
like a chemistry teacher. That's a compliment for crying out
loud plus one.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Hundred thousand according to Alan right now for the Dolphins
to win the Super.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Bowl plus what one hundred thousand?
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah, no, no, it might be more than that. I
mean that's what he just sent you on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
And I don't believe that otherwise I'm gonna get rid.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, well, I mean made that bet yesterday.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Man, make that better, dude, No, no, that that's not right.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Somebody looked that up.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
That's what did you have the power to look at it?
Speaker 2 (10:11):
It's a thousand to one is what that means?
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Thousand. I'm sorry he put a lot of zeros on.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
I know that well that that means it's a thousand
to one if I'm doing the math correctly.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Well, I'm just I'm saying on the tweet, I said
plus one hundred thousand. But then whenever he set a
dollar makes a hundred, that's a thousand and one, right,
So there you go.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Go make your gad you that's one hundred to one.
He didn't even do that correct Oh he didn't.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Well, Alan, good try, But Anibody said do this work himself.
So I mean, I don't know why I even do this,
but hey, congrats, man, I mean, what else do you
want to do the show tonight? Because that's like all
the Roman numerals on the Dolphins, we talk about something
we can do the.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Other half on my Arizona Wildcats. You know, I want
to propose, Chris, and I don't know if this was
going to work out.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
How many teams do we have in the playoffs? Twelve?
Speaker 1 (10:57):
You know, how many teams in the twelve?
Speaker 5 (10:58):
I think there should be thirty team? Why is that
the twelve that we have now? And one spot for
a team where the refs rip drops so bad that
they've destroyed your year and you're good enough to be
in the playoffs, like in Arizona, who really should be
nine and one instead of seven and three, but they
referee stole the BYU gave from us in the in
(11:19):
the Houston game from us.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
You know, I think that you should.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I think thirteen is the perfect number, the lucky thirteen.
They could brand it as or something like that. Do
you still have a shot to make the Big twelve tournament?
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Are they? Yeah? Championship? We do?
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Yeah, it's I think if Dolphins have a better chance
of making the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
But I think you still do. I mean by you
sitting there at six and one text at seven and
one years.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Technically we really beat b YU. They should give us
that victory. When the referees admit to making a mistaken
that did they did.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
They give you the apology.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
We got the apology, but you know obviously that that
doesn't do you very much when they when they stole
the win from us.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
That's why there needs to be thirteen teams.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
In the PA. That's right, Well, you do need to
beat Arizona State. Baylor kind of stings. You should beat
him next week.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
That's yeah, we're going.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Can you believe we're gonna have nine wins when we
really should have eleven? And you laugh to be when
I talked about that to you, I.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Didn't laugh at you because it's amongst the most ridiculous
things you've had.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
And now remember I called Arizona basketball to go undefeated,
so you can laugh all you one on that.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Also, I'm shocked.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
I'm actually embarrassed that we struggled against UCLA. We should
have beat them down like the beating they deserve. After
we'll take care of you. Con I'm going to the game,
by the way, that's how about that. I'm going to
the game.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Congrats.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Anything else you need to add here before we like.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
The sports world, congrats, So your Dolphins are going to
the playoffs. There should be another playoff spot for a
three loss.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
It should be thirteen teams in the playoffs. And even
though that be fair.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
To let somebody in that the referee stole their season.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
From well, I don't really know if that's the case
with the and Wildcats, but you know, whatever you need, dude, And.
Speaker 5 (13:03):
What congratulations on your Sooners winning this weekend?
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Yeah, I know. Let's say, how dare you even try
to fit in something else here this segment?
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Who did you guys play?
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Yeah? Just some scrubs? So yeah, I mean, listen, this
is all about you, dude. You just have your moment here.
So congratulations. And what else am I missing here? In
Arizona go to the finals?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Basketball?
Speaker 5 (13:23):
Undefeated? Undefeated? You know I'm going to bet. Remember last
year I was just a year ahead of my time.
I'm betting this year the Knicks to win the championship,
parlayed to the wild Arizona Wildcats to win the NCAA basketball.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Yeah, go do it man. Hey, he did just send
us the actual screenshot. Your Dolphins are plus one hundred
thousand to go to the Super Bowl. So are the Raiders,
the Arizona Cardinals, the Cleveland Browns, the New York Giants,
New Orleans Saints. No Jets, the Commanders, and the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yeah, drop the last two zeros, Like Green Bay is
not seventeen hundred to really seventeen to one.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
So right, So that's what I'm saying is you were
saying that he was wrong, but that's what he said.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Yeah, yeah, okay, one thousand to one.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
It's exactly what he said. I mean, you can do this.
You have this app you.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
I bet a lot of money on the Dolphins too.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, I mean, does Chasela have a college funder anymore?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Lose that you don't have a college fund for him anymore?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Right, Well, then you don't have to worry about it.
I mean you are, You're a trophy husband. You just
go to bath and say.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Listen, give me some money out on a Super Bowl.
Let's go, let's do it, let's go.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
I mean after they played, like I said, I if
we could just get one or two games.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Back that the reperty stole from us. But that's not
gonna happen. I know you're better. I know you were
rooting for Washington all day. I know you were doing that.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
I was on I was getting updates from you. I
was on a flight.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
How did you like be giving you play by play.
I know you you were loving that. It was absolutely terrible.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
I tweeted the exact score time. Will me see who
has the ball? I mean, my goodness, man, I did
a better play by play?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Sure, I wow. I was flying back from Tuscaloosa this
morning and on the fly they didn't have for me, right,
first world problems. They didn't have any The Wi Fi
was only free messaging, and it was like twenty bucks
and I'm a cheap skate.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
You're at a prop plane and what's going on?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
And I said, I can't get anything but texting. What's
to score?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
You gave me the score and then I said thanks,
and then you responded with all good, We're gonna lose.
That was the very next tweet.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Well, they were, and it didn't look very good there
until they made a boat heead mistake and they went
for it on fourth Well, talk about that for a moment.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I understand that we're in this era where everybody goes
for it on fourth down and it's whatever the book
or the percentage just say, but those have to be
two of the dumbest decisions that we've seen this morning
in that game.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
You can.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
You can proclaim playoffs all you want, but both those
teams going for it on fourth down without at least
trying to kick field goal that could have won in
the game is crazy talk. You know.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
I kind of agree with you just a couple of
things on that. I mean, obviously they were both playing
like their playoff lives were on the line.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
That's maybe why they did.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
If they were, if they will if you know, all
joking aside, if they were maybe seven and two, would
they have done the same situation. I don't know, Chris,
I would be dying to know. And I don't have
the answer to this. You you were to say, could
be better to find this out?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Do you know what?
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Like when the NFL, like when they put up on
the screen a.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Seventy two percent chance to go forward on fourth out
or to kick the field.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Goal, they ever say don't go. They only say go
right there.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
I wonder what the odds were to say go or
kick the field goal because they didn't put that up
on the screen, and that in both situations when it
was fourth down. I actually understand why Washington won Ford
on fourth down. Dolphins, it was that was a stretch.
I actually was surprised. I was shocked that they were
(16:58):
doing that. I thought they were gonna go ahead, kick
the field goal and have to rely on their defense
to not let them get in field goal range. I really,
what other choice do you have other than go for
to not get it. I mean, that was shocking. I
know you were surprised when they went ahead and did
something like that, but yeah, Blonoway, but there was still
about a minute forty left in the game.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Though at that point, well, I again, commanders makes a
little bit of sense Dolphins in that position, it doesn't
to me.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I mean, go kick the field goal and try to
win the football game.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
But we're watching a masterclass in going forward on fourth
down tonight and failing is there are now two minutes
and fifty four seconds to go in the game, and
Philadelphia is in control of night whenever. I just guess
Dan Campbell, Lived by the Sword, Die by the Start,
is going.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
To go for it on fourth down non stop, and
he's over for five tonight.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Right, you know, Chris, I just watched it to lead
the Ways, and you hear that every team has this.
I don't know for a fact that they have somebody
on the sideline just to tell you when the go
for it on fourth out.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
When the kick the field they study.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
But yeah, they study, but they also have somebody on
the sideline. My thing is, it wasn't like only the
head coach's decisions.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Somebody was telling him you gotta go for it.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
You got somebody was telling McDaniel, you gotta go for
it on fourth out, don't kick the field goal here,
you gotta go for it, or somebody from upstairs was
told him in his ear, or maybe he just made
the decision on his own saying, blake everybody else, I'm
not going to kick the field goal, but somebody must
have been in his ear and he's like, you're right.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Let's go for it, let's go for the win here.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Well, but again, like I'm telling you, sometimes it's it's
they've studied it, and it's like when we get in
this situation, we're gonna go. And they might decide if
you have the ball on the fifty and if you
get in a fourth and anything less than three, you're
going for it, regardless of where it is on the
on the field. That's how that's how it's viewed. Do
they have game managing guys. Absolutely, But I think in
(18:49):
that instance it was just mcdaie. I got the cut,
he explains it. But I'm I don't think anyone wants
to hear any more about the Dolphins tonight.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Wow, Well, do we have to wait till they get
into the playoff?
Speaker 1 (19:00):
That's right. As soon as they get into the playoffs,
you can do a three hour show on nothing but
the Dolphins. Now when we come.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Back, don't be all mad at me.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I'm not mad at you. I'm on your side. I'm
sitting here to supporting you. You were right all along.
Like that sound effect. By the way, you love that?
How much did you bug Patrick and Mary to find
the Dolphins out a lot?
Speaker 2 (19:19):
That's me playing it on my phone?
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Right? All right?
Speaker 5 (19:22):
I go way, I'm not kidding around. That's me playing
it on my phone.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Well done? All right. When we come back to the
Fox Sports Radio studios, we'll dive into what is being
called one of the greatest weeks in the history of
the National Football League. And we just spent twenty minutes
talking about the Dolphins. We are so fired it'sarn't even
playing from Fox Sports Radio.

Man, big moment coming up here in Sunday Night football, Yep.
The Detroit Lions have put themselves in position to get
back in this game. Went potentially tie this game. Nineteen
math has always been my strong suit. Sixteen to nine
with a minute fifty five to go, Yeah, leave the
(20:45):
math to me, please be right. The Eagles are facing
a third and eight. Oh, they just picked it up.
Jalen hurts incomplete, but they're gonna call pass interference. No
Eagles are going to survive third from their own thirty seven.
They they tried to throw it to a J. Brown
(21:06):
wasn't even close, to be honest with you, and a
very very late flag came in on Rocky. You sin,
it's going to be a pass interference call that's gonna
get automatic first out that Now, I've got to watch
your replay. That's gotta be one of the worst pass
interference calls I've seen, grab.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
Them the second worst I saw that. I'm not I
don't want to bring it back up. We got to
know we're past it. The one in the Dolphin game,
and everybody on social media even agreed with that.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Oh my gosh, I don't know, dude, I saw the
one in the Dolphins Commander's game.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
That's terrible. That was horrible, terrible call.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
This, Yeah, I don't know that both bad. You can't
be having this because well, this one ends the game
that way, and you gotta let them play.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
It is football.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
There's there's gonna be some touching, all right, there's goodttle
bumpy grabbing. I mean, you you can't do that. That's
just horrible. You just can't call something like.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That, and that's gonna pretty much be ballgame there's a
minute forty ends that, there's a minute forty two left.
Now Detroit has one more time out. They just used.
It's second down and ten for Philly. I don't know
if they'll quite be able to kneel it out. But
that is an all I mean, that is an all timer.
That is a terrible call.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
I think I think officials need to all go back
to school and get a retraining because it's been a
bad year so far. That seems like two years on
the officiating front. They're just not doing a very good job.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Well, we're not gonna get or at least I don't
think we're gonna get a final play win here today
for either one of these teams, with the Eagles able
to potentially drain every second off the clock here. But
there have been five teams who recorded their game winning
score on the final play of the game today. It
is tied with Week ten twenty twenty three and Week
(22:57):
four of twenty eighteen for the most on a single day.
And there have been seven teams who have won after
trailing in the fourth quarter Baltimore, Buffalo, Caroline, at Denver, Chicago,
Green Bay, and Miami. That's the most in a week
since Week twelve of twenty twenty two. Wow, that's about
(23:17):
that for the NFL today.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
Didn't know a lot of comebacks. That's what I love it.
Give me some give me the comebacks. So let's see
what they could do. And we got a.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Lot of that. Wow, I didn't know there was so
many though.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
That's great times Well, Steve de Seger is in here
to give us all the news notes and nuggets that
we need with what's trending, what's going on.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Steve, congratulations on your chargers. Seger.
Speaker 7 (23:37):
That was a definite L. That's one in the L column.
By the way, to what Chris said that the game
winning score for the Bears. This is three straight weeks
in the last two minutes or overtime. So yes, there's
been a lot of excitement. And yes, the Detroit Lyons
even before the fourth quarter started tonight, oh for five
on fourth down. So you know, Chris Collinsworth is a
(24:00):
really good football analyst. He deserves the job that he has.
But he did misspeak when I think we all agree
that wasn't a pass interference just now it might close
out the game for Philly. He used the phrase and
that decides the game no, No, Detroit's losing for a reason.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Back sight for again.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
Thank you. First down, that'll do it, Barkley with the
first down. Sixteen to nine. Eagles are leading in the
final minute and no timeouts left for the Lions. So
Jalen Hurts with one hundred and thirty five yards passing
is going to be the winning quarterback tonight. Jeez, he
did have that one yard TD on the tush push
right before halftime, and that's gonna be the difference in
(24:37):
this game, sixteen to nine, and that means the Philadelphia
Eagles are eight and two on the season after tonight.
Very impressive. We did have an extra point missed.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
In this one.
Speaker 7 (24:50):
Now granted it was after a penalty sent the extra
point fifteen yards back, but that's eight missed Pat kicks
this week, the most in any NFL week in three years.
We had some windy conditions in Philly tonight. We had
certainly windy conditions with the Giants home game, where green
Bay won despite missing a couple of kicks. By the way,
(25:11):
it's officially final Eagles sixteen to nine. That win for
green Bay was twenty seven to twenty at the Giants
on a touchdown pass with about four minutes to go.
Denver had one of those final play victories. Field goldbeats
Kansas City twenty two to nineteen. Broncos have won eight straight.
Rams won their fifth in a row twenty one nineteen
over Seattle as the Seahawks Sam Darnold from USC through
(25:34):
four interceptions in La Today, San Francisco got brought purty
back and Perty had three touchdown passes, two to George
Kittle forty one to twenty two their final at Arizona.
Baltimore won at Cleveland twenty three to sixteen, as tight
end Mark Andrews had the game winning touchdown run thirty
five yards. He rumbles on a fourth and one a
direct snap with about two and a half minutes left
(25:56):
because Lamar Jackson, who threw two interceptions, does not do
the tush push with that. Pittsburgh meets Cincinnati thirty four
to twelve. Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers left with a hand
slash wrist injury. We'll see it's the left hand, but
that doesn't guarantee he's playing next week. Houston won at
Tennessee on a field goal final play sixteen thirteen. Carolina
(26:17):
went in overtime at Atlanta thirty to twenty three. Falcons
have lost five straight. Miami started the day with the
Madrid victory see Dolphins overtime sixteen thirteen over Washington, which
has lost six in a row.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
I didn't have my sound effect cute up my bad.
Speaker 7 (26:32):
Yeah, well you could just do it live.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
E e.
Speaker 7 (26:39):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Yeah, you know you love that sound the fan?
Speaker 7 (26:42):
Oh yeah, okay. Chicago on a forty eight years field
goal final play one at Minnesota nineteen to seventeen. I
do appreciate the enthusiasm. Jacksonville wiped the floor with the Chargers.
Thank you, there you go thirty five six Jaguars. And
at Buffalo, Josh Allen had three touchdown runs three touchdown passes.
(27:02):
Bills were actually trailing Tampa Bay with under ten minutes
to go, but beat the Bucks forty four to thirty two.
Monday night, it'll be Dallas at Las Vegas. Two teams
on a bye this weekend, New Orleans two to eight
and the Indianapolis Colts did not play today, A team
that averages thirty two points a game, and a team
that plays at Kansas City next week. By the way,
(27:22):
I mentioned Denver won. It's eighth game in a row.
New England won its eighth game in a row last
Thursday when they beat the Jets in the NBA The
Late Games a final at Utah, double overtime, Jazz get
a last second three pointer to beat Chicago one fifty
to one. Forty seven. Wow, Lowry Markinen who played for
(27:43):
the Wildcats forty seven guy forty seven in the win.
Atlanta trailed by twenty two points at Phoenix with under
ten minutes left and still beat the Suns one twenty
four to one. Twenty two Dallas in overtime beat Portland
Houston and overtime beat Orlando and the University of Houston,
and ranked number one in college troops, got a one
point win against number twenty two Auburn in Birmingham seventy
(28:05):
three seventy two.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Back to you, what you I'm watching the highlights right now.
A couple of under the radar things that happened today.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Number one.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah, in that Rams Seahawks game, did you see the
punt by Ethan Evans that led to the final drive
for the Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
I don't think I did it. I did the most
perfect punt I've ever seen.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
Oh I did the one that went out at the
half yard line or the inde yard line.
Speaker 7 (28:29):
So you're saying it was slightly different than the UCLA
punt last night, which was so wide to the left
it hit a rusher from the side.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
You couldn't place the ball any better than word ended
up on the punt for the Rams, and you couldn't
do it any better.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
It was absolutely un the believable, the best in the
history of football. Probably as excited as I think I
was over anything today. And then secondly, I can't believe
guys that we are thirty six men. It's into this show,
and we didn't bring up yet the debut of the
greatest pick in the NFL draft issues SCHELDR. Sanders four
(29:08):
of sixteen for forty seven yards, three rushes for sixteen
to two sacks. Again, it's his first appearance. I know
everyone needs to calm down, but you look good.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
Real early, like he completed his first passage. I'm like,
there you go, there you go, let's go. I mean,
this is this is gonna be great. There's a great
situation and then it kind of all collapsed for him.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Look, it's his first game. It's got a long way
to go.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
He was.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Did you see him after the.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
Game on the sideline on the bench, covering his head
like they had just lost the Super Bowl. I'm not
kidding around you. You better look into the beer. You've
got a long career left, so you can't just say someone.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
You may be right on that.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
As he gets to the same.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Maybe he was thinking this was my one chance and
I blew it or something.
Speaker 7 (29:53):
No, it, Browns, this is not your one chits.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
You're gonna have plenty more opportunities.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
I mean, next week had opportunities. Yeah, I mean, and
Dylan Gabriel's got a little concussion history. He had him
at UCF, he got one at Oklahoma. I don't think
he missed a game. He missed a half of Oklahoma,
and he had one at Oregon. Maybe well hasn't c J.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
Stroud missed two games now for Houston with a concussion.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
So you're gonna have You're gonna have an opportunity here.
Maybe it helps him with the week of practice to
get more of the movie. But I'll tell you what,
I didn't realize how long and drawn out his motion was.
Maybe maybe it was, and I just because he ran
around so much in college. But buddy. Whenever he starts
to get ready to throw the football, it's like slow motion.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Cleveland is at Las Vegas next week.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
You watch, He'll go through for three hundred yards. Listen, man,
I've lived this life. I know what's gonna happen here.
And then it's not really under the radar because it's
leading everything tonight and it should. But I mean, after
getting humbled by this just train that's coming out of
Miami right now, it was really cool to see Buffalo
bounce back, just for the sake of our man Paul
(30:59):
on Twitter, because he was about ready to lose his
mind and give Tampa Bay credit. They fought right back.
I mean they did, they did, They were right there,
and the Buffalo defense made some plays. I was really
impressed with both teams today. But of course, now you
come out of a game where you're responsible for seven touchdowns,
I mean, let's go, what a performance from Josh Allard
(31:20):
six touchdowns.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
Ten total touchdowns in the game at Buffalo. But it
was surprising the Bucks didn't come through with all their
close victories. They had not only been four and one
on the road, three wins by three points or less.
They had a one point advantage in the fourth and
did not win.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
No, but they like, like Chris said, josh Awen, what
three rushing touchdowns three passing touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Too much? Yeah? He he was just phenomenal.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
He had one of those games where you're not going
to beat the Bills if he plays like that against anybody.
And this is what the Buccaneers kept that close, to
be honest.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
With the best rushing attack in the league is the
Buffalo Bills running game. And it was under fifty yards
for James Cook and still Alan just won it. I mean, yeah,
you can put it that simply.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Yeah, and then just kind of going back over you know,
all the notes from the game today, it was, I
mean just jarring whenever you wake up to the news
about Chris Boyd. So we haven't talked about this yet.
Let's hit it quick and then when we come back,
we'll hittred tweets. But Chris Boyd, who is a corner
for the Jets, was taken to the hospital after he
was shot early Sunday morning in New York City. He
(32:23):
was critically wounded. I haven't seen any updates throughout the
day to say what have you. It's kind of been
quite which is a little bit concerning, but police confirmed
that their shooting took place on West thirty eighth Street
and near souventh Avenue shortly after two am. Remember the
Jets played on Thursday night. No rest have been made.
Fled the scene in a BMW. Do witnesses and not
(32:43):
cooperate because and Boyd, why would you you.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Want to put your life at risk?
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Right now? Boyd sign a one year deal with the
Jets in March. He's been on injured reserve due to
his shoulder injury. Hasn't played this year. But again, just
a scary story. So thoughts with Chris Boyd today after
what I don't know was just a while story to
start today, Arnie, this this breaks and then we're watching
football because it's kicking off at six am on the West.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Coast, and I don't have an updated either. I was
looking for that.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Also, if I see something on Twitter, I'll definitely let
you know. But certainly we're thinking about him in our
prayers on that.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Well, we have seen a bunch of your tweets on
week twelve or week eleven of the NFL. So let's
get to it next with Arnie and playing cor right
here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live. I wanted to hit a couple of injury
updates here real quick.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yeah, Aaron Rodgers concern over a slight break in his
left wrist. Nothing long term, but I mean, what are
we looking at then? If it's a broken wrist.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, that's gonna be tough. Yeah, it's his left wrist,
it's his non throwing. They'll just put him in a cast.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
You think he still plays?
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Oh yeah, maybe not next week, but maybe the week after.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Mason Rudolph played okay, But I mean I feel like
Mason Rudolph's been in the league for like one hundred
years and.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
He's looked up. They got hurt a lot, Jacob said.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Josh Jacobs has a knee injury that's getting checked on tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
They're gonna have an MRI and you know.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
The one injury because for some reason this is not
a knock. Because I was looking over the tweet the
show tonight, my man Gunner's fired up. He's big Carolina fans,
So I'm not trying to knock the game, but Carolina
Arizona game was one of those games to.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Where like, why am I Why did they keep showing this?
Speaker 1 (34:36):
And then you're watching, you're like, oh, yeah, this game
is awesome because he kept going back and forth. But
I haven't seen any updates yet on Michael Pinnix or
Drake London. And according to the most recent reports for Pinix,
it was a reaggravation of his knee injury and he
had a really nice first half and then he goes down.
(34:58):
No details were available immediately, but those are Ian Rappaport
and Tom Pelasarrow tonight said it's a reaggravation of the
bone bruise in the seat in the same knee that
kept them out of game. They got more test coming
on that front. So as it is this time of
the year, you know we get to week eleven, week twelve,
week thirteen, we're always talking about injuries.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Right, Oh, there's tar And I told you that that's
something I've been telling you that you really need to
could quarterbacks now because there's no way quarterback quarterbacks are
not going to make seventeen and then when we go
to eighteen games, eighteen starts and then you got the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
You just you just can't do it.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
I don't think anyone disagrees with you that you need
a good backup quarterback. Your idea that you're going to
have a game where you're like going to have a
what's a good comparison, like a bullpen start like the
Dodgers have, where all of a sudden, it's like, all right,
this is a cousin's game. I don't think that's going
to be the case. One other story, do you think
Jamar Chase spit at jam at Jalen Ramsey?
Speaker 5 (35:55):
Yeah, what happened there? We'll be getting tweets on that.
I didn't see it, So you tell me you haven't
seen it yet. No, I've not known it.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
It's it's I don't know. I know the Pittsburgh there's
a guy named Austin Brisky that has a video of it.
I was watching it during the break and I pulled
it back up and it does look like Jamar Chase
spit on. I mean it looks like he just hawked
a lougie right on him and Jalen Ramsey lost his stuff.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
As you're you know situation that's as salt you could
get somebody arrested for that.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
For spitting on someone. Yeah, that's a salt. Well, when
you come after him, you start throwing haymakers too. I
guess you can fall into the world where that's a
sault as well. So I I mean, as my dad
used to tell me too. Rights don't make it wrong.
But the bottom line, more than anything else, it'll be
interesting to see how the league candles is Jamar Chase played.
Jamar Chase played. It kind of done, but I'll send
(36:48):
you the video so you have a chance to look
at it. You were too busy celebrate your dolphins when
to dig into that. I don't blame you. I would
probably be doing the same thing, all right.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
To Twitter to a Oh I got can I can
I start this off? You got a private DM message
tweet thingy?
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I got, Absolutely, it's called a DM You're fine.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
Hey, Hey, Arnie, let me know if you want to
meet with the Arizona coaches at the Yukon game.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
My nephew got promoted to assistant coach. There you go.
Now that wait real quick, what's the proto call for that?
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Because the coaches really don't want to be meeting you
before the start of a game.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
You can only meet them on after the game if
you win. Is that is that the face?
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Oh? No, I think if you got to remember depending
on how early you get there, I mean you got
plenty of time.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
I mean games for ever.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Yeah, but nobody, nobody. They're busy though, aren't they. They
want to like they're going over the.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Game play, were like, hey, could you come out or
take some pictures and meet some people?
Speaker 1 (37:43):
You know they don't want to be They would be
better for afterwards. Actually, I mean you're probably not getting
to go well, unless you're getting to go to the
shoot round. Then if you get to go to the
shooter round, that's the ultimate because that's where they're kind
of be asking what the TV people and it's usually
very small.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
What time is that? That's way early though, that's a
let's see it.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
So I went with OU last week to Spokekan and
the game was at seven o'clock and our shoot around
was at like eleven am.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Oh though that's too early for me.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
See, I figured it as much. But I would definitely
hate why not ask if that's a person that's been
promoted to assistant coach or who? He says nephew.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Yeah, his nephew. I don't know, man, nephew, ties aren't
always that tight. Maybe I could sit on the bench.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
I mean, if it was, Hey, my brother got elevated,
that's one thing, or my but nephew, it's kind of like,
I don't know, man, you can't stand their own.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
If I was in Oklahoma, could you introduce me around?
Speaker 5 (38:35):
Like?
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Could you introduce me to No, I'm not that cool, mister.
Nobody writes the Chiefs are out five and five? Can
we finally stop with trying to shoehorn Mahomes in as
an MVP. He's not Josh Allen, and Buffalo very well
may not have to worry about Casey in the playoffs,
And yet Josh Allen is still an MVP candidate.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
I think that's for you, Chris. I think he's hitting
you over the head with a two by four. So
why don't you thay that.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Well, I'll be the first one to tell you. I've
never told you that Mahomes is an MVP candidate. But
I sure as hell I'm not writing off the Chiefs.
You and nobody and let's stop. You proclaimed it over
for the Ravens and they're playoffs you.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Just do exactly what I was gonna say.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
It is oh V E R for your Kansas City chiefs,
my friend, say goodby.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
I would rather, I would love to be right more
than anything else on the planet with this one. And
by the way, the Broncos are good. I mean, you
gotta you gotta embrace it. It's not the prettiest football.
Bo Nicks is wildly inconsistent, but he made his biggest
throw the day when he needed to.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
But I am.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
Winning the division last week, You're like, they're not going
to win the division.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Yeah, absolutely thought there was no way. I thought he
just would be chasing him. Now there's a three game
cushion that you have over Kansas City. Yea. And I mean,
kudos to the Broncos. They got it done, they made
it happen. But I mean again, if you're gonna sit
here and try to bully me, I mean, buddy, you
like claimed eight teams seasons over that are right in
(40:04):
the middle of the playoff mix and teams that are
going to the playoffs that are now like terrible. So
I mean, I wouldn't be throwing these stones in this
class house that you live in right now. You are
the King of proclaiming a team is done, only to
look up two weeks later it's like, oh, look at them,
they're right in the playoff mix. The Chiefs are five
and five, they have played terrible, and they are one
(40:28):
game out of the playoffs. So I ask you this,
if your team makes the playoffs and you're so confident
about how the Chiefs suck, do you want to see
him in the first round.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
I wouldn't be afraid of them. That they don't scare
me at all. No, they wouldn't. They don't scare me
at all, not at all.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
So eighteen, Okay, let's we're done here. When we come back,
Hour two, Todd Furman a ride around the corner, plus
more of your tweets we got, we got times to
get to here. We'll kick off next hour with them
with Arni and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Hour two
Arni and Plank here on Fox Sports Radio. Got a
lot of tweets, we want to get to this hour.
(41:03):
We'll do it. You can find us at Stinking Genius one.
That's Arnie. I'm at playing show. Everyone go follow us
at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (41:11):
So you got to tell us how Tuscolusa was. I mean,
did you give everybody the finger after you.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Won the game? Did you poison? Did you poison some trees?
I don't know. I'm just let me.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Get this right. You finally bring up the game an
hour in after you've hammered us over the head with
checks notes. Miami going to the playoffs, Arizona basketball undefeated,
in Arizona football needing.
Speaker 5 (41:36):
Arizona football was a better win over Cincinnati than who
did you guys beat?
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah? I think this is why I don't talk college
football with you. To the tweets? Did you go to
That's honest thing you've ever said in your life. Did
you go on the road and they beat the number
four team? And you try to tell me it went
over since?
Speaker 2 (41:59):
How did you go to Drel Barbecue or anything like
that or what.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
We didn't stay in Tuscaloosa. We stayed in Birmingham. There's Uh,
it's a give credit. Alabama's a great, great football all right.
Tuscaloosa is a great football town. That campus is amazing,
they're awesome fans, and we just it's like impossible to
get anything there on game day.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
So we ended up staying in Birmingham. Had a blast.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Uh, went to a real fancy place on Friday night. Man.
It was called yeah, it's called the Club. It was
like I went back to the nineteen like fifties, nineteen sixties.
This thing was.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Awesome in burning right. Oh yeah, man, it had a
band that had.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
To do.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Yeah, that dance floor. It was overlooking downtown Birmingham. It
was just awesome and nice.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
And then the game kicked off in Oklahoma's defense was superior,
greatest equalizer in football. If it's not the weather, it's
turnovers and Alabama, if you looked at that box score,
I mean, I know you have it. Take a chance,
take them a moment tonight and I'll give you something.
And I'm minimizing the shady sean, So don't get mad
at me. I was at It's why I couldn't tweet
(43:06):
this week. I was busy getting ready for this massive game.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
People were like, why were you not tweeting?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
What was going on? You wanted? I didn't really have
anything to say. I was I was getting ready for
ou Alabama. Had to wait till the game was over
to talk my trash. But that's what I do. But
like they had a nine minute time of possession advantage.
Alabama had a nine minute time of possession advantage over Oklahoma.
They out gained them. Let's see, what was the total
yards four six to two twelve. They had twenty three
(43:33):
first downs to twelve for Oklahoma, but they committed three
turnovers and Oklahoma took the ball away from him three times.
Should have been a fourth. And that was the game
as an all game. And Oklahoma's in the playoff mix
right now with a game against Missouri next Saturday and
then LSU to wrap up the season.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Yeah, you you're gonna win the We're going to win
the next two games. There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
There's no wei here.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
They didn't give you guys a lot of tickets, did they?
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Uh? I had a lot of people there. There's a
lot of center fans there. Really, I thought, yeah.
Speaker 5 (44:01):
Because it didn't seem like they give you like half
the tickets are I have?
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Well, they don't give away half the tickets to the stadium.
You get like ten thousand, I think is what it is.
And it's a hundred.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Seventy seive or something like that.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
The the SEC ticket allotment is actually pretty cool, to
be honest with you. They do a nice job of
trying to take care of everyone. But it's let's see,
five thousand was the big twelve. I think it's like
maybe maybe like six for the sec someone somewhere in there. Wow, Yeah,
it's not much. So when you say they didn't give
(44:34):
you a lot of tickets, I thought there was a
lot of Sooner fans there And it's hard to tell
because everyone's wearing Crimson or a different shade at Crimson.
Alabama's a great atmosphere. That is an awesome stadium. Bama fans,
you know this. I don't even tell you. It's like
an NFL stadium. It's the most sweets I've ever seen
in a football stadium in my life.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
Really, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
And there's a hole that you go down You're like, oh,
is this the hall towards another towards a press box
or next and no, no, it's all towards another suite
and they're all they all have names on them too.
I mean, it's just incredible. So, I Oklahoma's in the
playoffs right now. I don't know if I've been half
heer in my life.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
Oh, I can imagine. And they're gonna win the next two.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
There's so there's there's rumors of Boat Pribila trying to
come back, the Missouri quarterback who's been dinged up. But
we'll see it's not always the best thing to rush
back a quarterback, because I think we've seen so far
this season, if you know what I'm saying. And how
about in college football yesterday, how about the statement that
Georgia made everyone looking? And how about the statement Notre
Dame mate ESPN takes its game day show to Pittsburgh,
(45:33):
I don't know I and it was cool and and
kudos to the pitt fans. It showed out, and Notre
Dame fans, it showed out. But Notre Dame just be
the snot out of pit. And then in the in
the primetime game, Georgia looks like the best team in
the country. They did.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
I didn't expect that.
Speaker 5 (45:48):
I thought Texas was gonna give him a much more
of a fight. Texas got that early field goal, even
though you had a touchdown, and they didn't do much
after that.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
Grizz to that first drive.
Speaker 5 (45:57):
Really it was not much of an offensive performance for them.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
All right. A couple of quick notes here. We had
mentioned last hour. Quickly we had brought up the story
about Chris Boyd the report tonight. Literally the moment after
we brought this up, Nie I got an update that
hit six minutes ago from the New York Post. He
is in critical but stable condition. Is the Jets corner tonight,
(46:24):
he was enjoying a night at I'm gonna say this
say less Sei l E s S. This is where
usually Mary can help me with an incorrect pronunciation. You
gained an Asian fusion restaurant that is usually a hot
spot for celebs, and according to the police report, Boyd
told the cops that he was inside with two other
(46:46):
members of the Jets and another friend when they left
because they didn't like the vibe and sensed some tension
around other groups who were arguing, and so they left
and I guess got caught up in the middle of it.
So I mean, listen stable anytime it's critical but stable,
that's a good sign, right, And then Bill just hit
(47:08):
us up on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
I've been following this throughout the day.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Bernie Cozar just tweeted right when we started the show
that the Brown's Great is in line to in a
new liver tomorrow morning at five am. He is in
dire health, so hopefully, hopefully things can turn around for
one of the all time greats in Cleveland Brown history,
Bernie Gozar.
Speaker 5 (47:25):
Good news there, Yeah, I have that. I just saw
that on Twitter also, so good news.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
All right, let's hit some of these tweets on Week eleven.
If you're ready at Stinking Genius one, I'm at Plank Show.
Here we go. Listen. I don't really think anyone needs
to be saying tell Arnie anything. He's been right, He's
been right. The Dolphins are going to the playoffs. But
Gunner rights tell Arnie that his Dolphins are done. The
Chiefs are losers, and he spelled losers correctly, which is
(47:50):
kind of impressing. You don't want to add that second. Oh,
and Carolina is going to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
Jumping on that Carolina beaywagon. Is he now right?
Speaker 1 (47:59):
I think the Gunners a Carolina fan. But I would
also add I just I can't make any sense of them.
I can't. They'll look amazing one week and they'll beat
the Green Bay Packers, and then the next week they'll
go out and they'll get absolutely housed like they did
last week by the by the uh who they lose
(48:21):
to last week. Oh, that's Saints. You get beat by
the Saints last week, and then you'll beat the Packers
a week before that. I mean, this is the last
four weeks for the Carolina Panthers, who oh, by the way,
said it six and five. Basically a half came out
of first place right now in the NFC South.
Speaker 5 (48:37):
If you take a look at the NFC playoffs for
the last three wild cards or the three wild cards.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
What are Racey's scoring to be.
Speaker 5 (48:45):
I mean, you're you're seriously, you're gonna have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
seven teams faging out for for three spots and is
only separated.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
But I think two tunis on the loss column.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
It's great, It's unreal. The Panthers beat the Jets thirteen
to six, then they lost forty to nine to the
Buffalo Bills. Then they beat the Packers sixteen to thirteen.
Then they gave the Saints their second win of the
season at home, by the way, and then they go
on the road in one of the thrillers of the
(49:20):
day and they beat the Falcons thirty to twenty seven.
Now they go to San Francisco next week from Monday
Night football, and again there's another team that you buried
this year and said it was over over.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
San Francisco played much time the other day hanging on.
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Yeah, hey, where's that crowd that thinks Mac Jones should
be the starting quarterback? Where you guys at right now?
It's kind of quiet today. Where's the mac Jones crowd at?
But I mean, hey, Carolina got to give them their flowers. Man,
that's a team that's been hard to figure out and
also really hard to just eliminate from the playoff mix,
which so many people want to. It's like they stink
they're Carolina, they can't be any good, And the next
(49:56):
thing you know, they're right in the playoff mix. Sooner,
le Arnie, I'm betting that you make zero bets. I
think I win.
Speaker 5 (50:03):
No, I'm seriously gonna bet the Knicks to win the
championship to my Arizona Wildcats to win the NCAA Championship.
We look so damn good right now. We got to
be the number one team in the country.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
There's no doubt.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
Yeah, no doubt. James worst NFL pass interference conversation cannot
be had without the Rams Saints NFC championship non call.
Oh yeah, but I will also add the thing that
everyone forgets is that led to pass interference being a
challengeable call, and we were able to challenge it for
(50:36):
one year, right, and everyone's like that, Yeah, we can't
do that anymore.
Speaker 5 (50:40):
How many overdo I wonder how many we overturned on
the past interference.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
I'm sure you could google it up and find out. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:47):
I don't think it was a whole heck of a lot,
but I won't know how many we did over.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Vincent writes now that Arnie is letting all of you
have it because he was right about his Dolphins. I
mean he was even right when he wrote off his
forty nine ers as well. Wait, they're seven and four
with half a team, and now the brock Perty is
back playoffs. Here we come.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
Yeah, they're they're hanging out to that last spot there.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
It's gonna be interesting because somebody's gonna have to be
on the outside looking at Detroit right now is on
the outside looking. And they've played one less game though,
so you're gonna take that into factor there, and the
Packers are right ahead of them by a half games.
Like I said, it's gonna be a hell of a
fight for the for the three wildcard spots.
Speaker 1 (51:26):
Have you allowed yourself to look ahead to next week's
schedule much? Week twelve? No, I'm not. Why, Well, don't
you have your picks coming up? Haven't you been prepping
for it? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (51:35):
Got the Dolphins? I think the Dolphins of the bye
week next week, don't they?
Speaker 1 (51:40):
Why? Why does it always have to be about the Dolphins?
Is that the only team that plays? I bring it
up because there's some interesting matchups. Now, we still have
a Monday night football game. You get the Raiders and
the Cowboys, and out of the Cowboys are three to
five and one. But next week you get Cowboys Eagles. Right,
next week you get Buccaneers Rams on Sunday Night football.
Next week you get Colts and Chiefs next week.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
Now, when the Chiefs lose that, they'll be really done.
So after that game it's in Kansas City though, Yeah, but.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
The Colts are coming off the bye week. They've had
the bye week this week, right, he's coming off their
bye week? Oh, come on, now, might as well just
give the Colts that victory.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
I don't know if I'd go that far in Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
And then you get the Steelers at the Bears, which
is kind of a unique matchup of teams that you
don't see play each other very often. Well, we won't
know about Aaron Rodgers. I'm sorry. I'm not trying to
close the book on Week eleven, but Week twelve's got
some bangs.
Speaker 2 (52:35):
Next week, here's something.
Speaker 5 (52:37):
You just think Your Raiders happen to be a three
point favorite over the Browns.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
Why? Why?
Speaker 2 (52:45):
Because I'm sure there Sanders.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Did everyone see how the door Sanders looked and they decided, Hey, man,
maybe the Raiders have a chance. Cowboys don't lose the
teams under five hundred, They only lose the teams that
are over five hundred, so they'll probably win tomorrow night.
All right, what were we doing? Oh? A couple more
tweets that I wanted to get to. Aussilaw was right,
wasn't Arnie sacking the Dolphins coaching quarterback two weeks ago?
Speaker 5 (53:07):
No, that was tough love. That wasn't second It was
just tough love. They needed to turn it around. Their
jobs were hanging by a thread. It was now or never,
so it's good to see them get back on track.
And though when in the next two games, get some confidence,
go to six and seven and then it'll all come
down to the Pittsburgh game.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
They'd beat Pittsburgh. Put it in.
Speaker 5 (53:27):
They're ten and seven, they're done. They'll have a tough
game maybe against New England. If New England's playing for
anything it.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
Don't you have to play Buffalo again? No, don't you
already split that?
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Yeah, we already split that. Okay, right, your coach is
blowing it for you.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
Arnie.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
You can't be five hundred.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
You need to be at the bottom so you can
have one of the top three picks in the draft.
Average is no good. Five hundred is no good. Being
competitive is no good.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Well, you know, I still want to make the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (53:54):
But you know, had they lost that game, then they
have been screaming for his job for not kicking the
field goal at the end of the game and winning
it and taking the lead, then they would have said
he's out of here. A lot of people were criticizing
him right there at that point.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
They should have And then Joe Judges Berner adds, the
Chiefs have been terrible all year. Tony Romo and Jim
Nance have embarrassed themselves that entire broadcast. A five and
five team with zero chance of the Division, let alone
the playoffs, and these Buffoons were celebrating for three hours,
(54:29):
I think is a fair way to put it. This
needs to be addressed, guys.
Speaker 5 (54:32):
Chris, I understand that you're not writing them off, and
rightfully so, but you're not saying they're not the team
that you're You know, it's certainly not the Chiefs of
the past couple of years, and you're not afraid of
them anymore.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
I'm afraid of them. I'm afraid of him. I'm always
going to be afraid of them. As long as Patrick
Mahomes as their quarterback and Andy Reiders their coach, I'm
afraid of them. They're not getting blown out of games.
They lost by three today. Game with Buffalo last week
two weeks ago, Now, I guess that's a road game.
They always lose to Buffalo. The Jaguars game is one
(55:06):
of the most odd things I think I've ever seen.
They played the Chargers in San Pau, Brazil. I mean, really,
it's you guys are acting like they're losing games by
three scores.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
Well, what's interesting about though, they Let's say they do
get the number seven seed, for argument's sake, their first
round games.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
You know, you take a look. They could be favorite
over the Colts or the Patriots or the Steelers. What
it's all said, They could act gily, be a slight
favorite of the first round game and not have home field.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
I again, I want to be wrong on this take.
I've never wanted to be wrong about anything more in
my life. But they still have the best defense in
the AFC West.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
And to give me games, right, they have to give
me games.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
They got the Raiders, well two, they've got the Raiders,
the Titans. I mean, what do we make those The Cowboys?
Speaker 5 (55:58):
Oh, that's not a give me the Raiders and the
Titans are well.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
I mean, if the Cowboys lose to the Raiders tomorrow night,
that's a three and six football team, right right, right? So,
I mean I don't know, and who knows what the
Texans are by that point, though, Tina, give credit to
Davis mills Man.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
He just keeps finding.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
Ways for that team to win one. Yeah, he's gonna
mess He's gonna mess around and get Mike Glennon. He's
gonna get himself a starting quarterback job this offseason. While
though what like five six years or something like that, Yeah,
and haven't and all of them have been with Texas
with the Texans.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Right, really, I'm not didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
I don't think he's been in Okay, this is gonna
be one of those moments where I look and he
has been Nope. Uh, he was drafted by the Texans
in the third round and he's been there, uh, every
season since twenty twenty one. So you're right, this is
his fifth season and he actually started twenty six games
in his first two years. And then oh, by the way,
they got CJ. Stroud and they're like, we think of him,
(56:51):
keep you out for a backup?
Speaker 5 (56:52):
Can you think of a backup quarterback that spent so
many years with one team?
Speaker 2 (56:56):
I can only think of one that comes to mind
off the top.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
Of my head.
Speaker 2 (56:59):
Jim So No, Frank Craig, No, but he Frank Reik's
a good one.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
All right. Then who are you thinking of?
Speaker 2 (57:07):
He's a current player?
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Okay, who are you thinking of?
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Taysom Hill? Does that count?
Speaker 1 (57:12):
I mean he's he does everything, but I think it counts.
I think it counts.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Is even with the Saints forever?
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Huh, he's after they picked him up and decided let's
when Sean Payne's like, let's use you as a quarterback
sometimes and next thing you know, it took all. I
will say, James is the kind of Chief fan I need. Tonight,
he writes, My Chiefs are done. It was a good
run while it lasted.
Speaker 5 (57:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
See, even they know that, even they know, they're still hope.
They're saying that, but they don't believe it.
Speaker 5 (57:38):
All right, you're the only one that doesn't know that
it's done for them, Chris, You're the only one that
doesn't know that.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
I would love to know. I would love to be
on the inside of this. I just don't think I am.
Speaker 5 (57:48):
My wife was saying earlier, you know, because my wife
goes to as a chance to go to the super
Bowl every year only if the.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Bills are in at her and her sister go to
the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (58:00):
And I was watching the game with her and they
were losing at one point, and I'm like.
Speaker 2 (58:03):
No super Bowl for you, my friend. It ain't have
it this year with the way you guys, this is
not gonna happen anyway. So I don't have to worry about.
Speaker 1 (58:10):
Well, I hope you're right. I don't want to see
you have to spend that extra money as a trophy husband,
that can take away for all that other good things.
Speaker 5 (58:16):
TONI, oh yeah, I'm not spending nothing, so up to
sit outside or something.
Speaker 1 (58:20):
When we come back, Todd Furman joins his live from
Vegas right here on Fox Sports Radio. Stick all right,
let's go Saraty in playing care on Fox Sports Radio.
Say hello to the man, the myth, the legend, Todd
Furman in Vegas. Todd, I got a random place to start,
But I do want to know, what did you think
of the history today where we had five teams who
(58:41):
recorded the game winning score on the final play today?
And what it was?
Speaker 3 (58:46):
It?
Speaker 1 (58:46):
Six teams ended up winning after trailing in the fourth quarter,
which was the most since November of twenty twenty two.
I'm sorry, seven teams who won after trailing in the
fourth quarter, most since twenty November twenty twenty two. On
Fun Day, it was so.
Speaker 8 (59:02):
Much parody in the league. And every single week you
can ask the questions, do we know who the best
teams are in the AFC and the NFC and from
top to bottom? I mean, credit the Eagles. They'd accomplished
quite a bit over the last six days. The Rams
outlasted the Seahawks, but anyone who watched that game can't
come away thinking that the Rams were the better football team,
And of course maybe time to be a little bit
(59:22):
nervous about a perennial power in the Kansas City Chiefs
too find themselves sitting at five and five and have
a lot of work still in front of them to
do in a muddled mess. That is the AFC playoff
picture as we start to embark on the close of
week eleven, Todd.
Speaker 5 (59:34):
With all the lead changes and the comebacks in the
fourth quarter, and I'm just guessing he does that mean
somebody got really rich on the live betting, because you know,
when you have lead changes like that, eventually somebody's going
to be like eighty percent chance to win and all
the leaders something somebody get rich today or not?
Speaker 8 (59:51):
Really, you know, I can't speak for every better out there, aren'tie,
but I know we have this discussion regularly that live
betting you're only afforded such large limits, so it's a
little bit tougher to move that kind of freight. And
when you look at some of these numbers, we didn't
have the kind of comeback that we had last Sunday
where the Jacksonville Jaguar squandered a nineteen point advantage against
the Houston Texans. A lot of these contests more in
(01:00:12):
the seesaw, you know, one score game here or there,
and I think there are a couple of teams that
have to be kicking themselves for an opportunity to slip
through their fingers. Were in the case of like the
Chiefs that we mentioned missing an extra point that changes
the dynamic, the Atlanta Falcons inability to close out games,
and a variety of others who find their seasons spiraling
out of control. As we reached the two thirds mark
of the campaign.
Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
Right off script, how about my Sooners Todd? How about
that a Tuscaloose last night? Ugliest box score for a
winning team in a minute? Huh?
Speaker 8 (01:00:42):
I mean, you're not going to win a whole lot
of games doing what Oklahoma did and when it comes
to generating offense out or lacks thereof for anybody who
watched that game from start to finish, but they were opportunistic.
I guess that's probably the most positive spin that I
can put on that twenty three to twenty one win.
But as you go through some of the scoring plays,
A five play drive for twenty three yard eight plays
(01:01:02):
for fifty seven and somewhere along the way. Those are
mildly impressive compared to the sub forty yard touchdown drive
and or field goals that they were able to convert
but survive in advance. And sitting at eight and two
oka home at everything in front of them still to
play for with two regular season.
Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
Games, raining are people not going to beg Obviously you
can bet on who do you like to win the championship,
but most people wait until the pairings come out, but
then you don't get as good odds there, Todd.
Speaker 8 (01:01:30):
It always depends if you feel that there is a
team that you don't think is matchup dependent and you
want to bet them to win the national championship. Now
by all means jump into the deep end of the pool,
and the road that they'll have to go through to
win the national title be damned. But if you look
at the prices, I don't think it'll surprise anyone, Arnie,
that Ohio State has really distanced themselves from everybody else
sub two to one kind of the going rate a team,
(01:01:52):
though that's trended up in recent weeks, still with very
much a lot of work in front of them, to
even get into the college football playoff would be Notre Dame,
who finds them I was hovering in the high single digits.
And of course Georgia Bulldogs. It feels like a broken
record as they round in a form of a dominant
performance against Texas. I think if you're looking to try
and find a little bit of opportunity and upside, maybe
you try, you know, identify at the dip in a
(01:02:14):
team that you can think can sneak into the national championship.
I'm the one that probably stands out the most to
me in that particular department. Would that be the Miami Hurricanes.
It's seventy five to one that have the talent to
compete with any team in the country. They're just going
to need a number of dominoes to fall their way
if they're going to get a seat at the table.
When the music stops.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Playing, Todd every week, we have a segment in our
Final Hour that we say after this week, for instance,
after week eleven, we know this. I was going to
throw this out and I'm curious to get your take
after week eleven. I don't know if the Jaguars and
Panthers are good, but I'm definitely intrigued. Right now, you
got like six teams vying, seventeens vying for playoff spots
in the NFC.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
It's a little bit more pigeon holed in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
But Jaguars controls the Chargers today and Carolina finds a
way to get these weird wins. I mean, I don't
know we buying either one of these teams.
Speaker 8 (01:03:03):
Jaguars winning today doesn't surprise me. The way that they
were able to do so in dominant fashion and kind
of stymy the Chargers right from the opening kickoff was
quite impressive, but clearly it was a team that was
a little bit ornery given the division loss last week
against the Houston Texans. We'll see if the Jaguars were
able to follow it up next week on the road
and a little bit of a sleepy spot against the
Arizona Cardinals, and if they can maintain some of that consistency. Meanwhile,
(01:03:27):
when you look elsewhere across the league and try and
figure out if Carolina has a legitimate pass to getting
to the playoffs, I mean, they're five to win to
win the NFC South, but all they can do is
win the games in front of them. Tampa's going to
have their hands full, you know, is a six point underdog.
And Sunday Night football next week on the West Coast
against the Los Angeles Rams. And well, I don't think
Carolina is a good team. They're finding ways to win.
(01:03:47):
And credit to Bryce Young. I mean, everybody criticized him
for having so many games of under two hundred yards passing.
He was the x factor today as Atlanta sold out
to stop the run, did a good job neutralizing Rico
Dwadell and of course Tuba Hubbard. But it was Bryce
Young to Ted McMillan at a key juncture of the
game and they were able to snatch victory from the
jaws of defeat.
Speaker 5 (01:04:05):
I don't know if you saw the Washington Miami game,
but too much going fourth on fourth out, especially late
in the game. Four minutes up for Washington, one forty
left for Miami, both of them one for fourth down
instead of kicking the field goal. Miami could have gone
up by three if they kicked the field goal. Too
much of the fourth down going.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Forward or what.
Speaker 8 (01:04:23):
I don't have a problem with dan Quinn electing and
go for it with around four to four and a
half minutes to go because the one ancillary benefit of
going forward at that point in the game, even if
you don't get it, you pin the Dolphins inside their
own five yard line. I think a lot of people
these days aren't you believe kick the field goal, take
to three, But with the new kickoff rules, you're essentially
two plays away from surrendering that three and it becomes
(01:04:43):
a net disadvantage. I am, however, a little bit more
critical of the Dolphins at that spot in the game.
You kick the field goal, take the lead, and you
forced Marcus Mariota to not only drive Washington into field
goal range, you figure it's a long shot for him
to be able to score a touchdown. Now, the Dolphins
were bailed out because Washington apparently thought it was a
great idea. You had to settle for a fifty six
yard field goal at the end of regulation. But at
(01:05:04):
the same time, a lot of these coaches want to
point their finger at the analytics department and say X, Y,
and Z. But there's always an answer from a time
and a play standpoint, and even in a win tonight,
I mean, Nick Sirianni up sixteen to six. Yes, it's
fourth and short, but you're inside your own thirty five
punt the football. Trust your defense to go out there
and make a stop. Instead, you don't pick it up.
The Lions are able to kick a field goal, and
(01:05:25):
if it wasn't for what I call, you know, a
bogus pass interference call, the Lions have the football back
after being dominated for the better part of three and
a half quarters, trailing sixteen to nine, and they're one
play away from tying it up or maybe even winning it.
In regulations, you're able to score a touchdown and convert
a two pointer.
Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Hey Todd, final thought from me, just you know it's
going to be the topic here on Fox Sports Radio
for most of our host tomorrow and on all the
talking head shows. What'd you make in Schador Sanders finally
getting a shot in Cleveland.
Speaker 8 (01:05:52):
I think Schador has got a long way to get
it before he's ready to be a full time NFL
starting quarterback. But I will say he looked a little
bit more comfortable trying to stretch the defense. I know
the stats four sixteen some fifty yards passing don't jump
off the page, but he's got to take what the
defense gives them. And I think Cleveland, you know, doesn't
want to see their starting quarterback in Dylan Gabriel miss
(01:06:13):
a game in concussion protocol, but this may give them
an opportunity to kind of see what they have in
Shador Sanders and what's very much a lost season at
two and eight for everybody on the Browns roster outside
of what Quinnshaw Judkins has done his rookie season running
the football, and of course Miles Garrett that continues to
be the common denominator for one of the better defenses
in the National Football League, where he is no doubt
(01:06:33):
the headliner for that group.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
You want to thank me for helping you out or
anything you want to say to.
Speaker 8 (01:06:37):
Me, help me for taking me out, thanking you for
what for Arizona going on the road, winning at historic
Nippers Stadium and still not having a chance to win
the Big twelve or where exactly you go?
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Forget about the football win, how about the basketball win?
Speaker 5 (01:06:51):
After we smacked around and you see, l wait till
we see what we do to Ukon what's going to
be in the line that game? You con minus like
three or four something like that.
Speaker 8 (01:06:59):
I mean, already I told you. When it comes to
college basketball, the calendar wa as November. These games mean
absolutely nothing, and I had no idea beating UCLA sixty
nine to sixty five, or your two point favorite constitute
smacking them around. The win against Florida out here in Vegas,
in my opinion a lot more impressive. But we'll see
if they can fall up. The trifecta. Should be a
great game on FS one Wednesday night when they take
(01:07:20):
on a Yukon team that's playing extremely well. And credit
to Arizona, I mean they put together a very compelling
and difficult non conference schedule because even after Yukon, you'll
still play Auburn, you'll still play Alabama, and it'll have
this group battle tested before they get into conference.
Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
You play.
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
By the way, it suggested that Chris that we should
have thirteen teams in the football playoff, the twelve teams
and then one team gets in because the referees messed
up their season by bogus calls.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
That would be Arizona.
Speaker 8 (01:07:46):
So which particular instance did the rest.
Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
The BYU game, the BYU double overtime loss. They already
admitted they screwed that one up, Todd. We should be
nine to one right now, is what our record should be.
Speaker 8 (01:07:57):
You sound very much like a member of the coaching
staff there. Believe this team isn't the record is not reflective.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
What they've been exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:08:04):
Last I checked, Arnie, if you fall on a fumble
from Bear Bachmeer inside the ten yard line, you don't
need the officials to bail you out. And suddenly it's
a very different storyline if this team is sitting at
five and two, very much in the thick of the
Big twelve race.
Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
All right, Todd, have great week, buddy. We appreciate him.
Speaker 8 (01:08:19):
Always a pleasure. Guys, you do the same.
Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
Go follow him on Twitter at Todd Furman, that's at
Todd Firm. And Steve di Seger. Sorry, Steve, run a
little behind. We'll get shought up on all the news
in the world sports.
Speaker 2 (01:08:29):
And wait, his team got Claver. Take look, and we
don't fire him.
Speaker 7 (01:08:32):
Actually, these things are not related.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
I my job.
Speaker 7 (01:08:36):
I hesitate there because an adult should know that. But
I guess you bringing up the win at Alabama, I
have an immediate nomination of lopsided box score. And my goodness,
they still won that game because for those who are unaware, yeah,
the Sooners took the ten to nothing lead first quarter
after the pick six of eighty seven yards, but the
(01:08:57):
offense for the night eleven drives, twelve first downs, and
Oklahoma still won at Alabama because Bama had, as you mentioned,
the three turnovers. And let's not forget the miss thirty
six yard field goal at the end of the first half,
where a kicker who has missed multiple field goals this
year spends the entire fifty yards going toward the locker
room at the half yelling at his snapper. Okay, yeah,
(01:09:18):
that's fair. Do we not remember the Kyler Murray Oklahoma
home game against Army a few years ago that went over?
Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
Yeah, they lost Army, didn't they.
Speaker 7 (01:09:27):
They beat Army, but they lost the box score because
Army had more first downs, more yards. Time of possession
was forty five minutes to fifty. Yeah, and still the
Sooners won in overtime.
Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
I looked it up.
Speaker 7 (01:09:40):
You know, if you get four yards of carry, sure
keep running the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
It's Army.
Speaker 7 (01:09:44):
They kept running the ball. It was actually seventy eight
carries for three hundred and thirty nine yards on the
ground that day. That is a lopsided box score. By
the way, while we're talking about the Sooners, Athletic Department.
Oklahoma women's hoops ranked six and the country one today
ninety five thirty two against Western Carolina. Jenny b and
(01:10:05):
Texas ranked fourth in women's hoops. They won one eleven
forty five.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
Contest out there in this SEC. You got to look
out and I know it's not a conference game.
Speaker 7 (01:10:15):
Let's get to the Sunday night NFL contest at Philadelphia.
The Eagles, now eight and two, beat Detroit by a
sixteen to nine final. And yes, the Lions kept going
forward on fourth down all before the fourth quarter. They
went zero for five on fourth down. They did not
go forward on fourth in the fourth quarter. So the
record is still oh for six in a game on
fourth down, and that was set by the Lions just
(01:10:38):
a few years ago in a game where they got
They lost in shutout fashion that day at New England.
But the Eagles have started eight and two, as I mentioned,
this is four straight years Philadelphia has started eight and two.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Are better?
Speaker 7 (01:10:50):
And guys, if you talk NFL history, who were you
to guess? You know what franchises at four straight years
started to seizon eight and two or better? It's who
you think? It's Don Schules Dolphins about fifty years ago.
It's John Madden's Raiders about fifty years ago. It's Mike
dick as Bears in the mid eighties, and Jim Kelly's
Buffalo Bills in the early nineteen oh that's right, I
(01:11:11):
guess in the thirty years, since only one team, the
Saints through twenty twenty, had started four straight seasons, eight
and two are better until Philadelphia. Now Denver has won
eight games in a row and on a field goal
final play. Broncos beat Kansas City twenty two to nineteen
victories for San Francisco, Baltimore and the Rams, who've won
five straight. Buffalo beat Tampa Bay forty four to thirty two.
(01:11:35):
Josh Allen three touchdown runs, three touchdown passes. In college hoops,
number one ranked Houston beat number twenty two auburns seventy
three seventy two in Birmingham, Number two per Due ninety
seven seventy nine over Akron, and number ten Florida beat
Miami in Jacksonville eighty two sixty eight. Ohio State edge
noted ame sixty four sixty three, and UNLV won at
(01:11:56):
Memphis ninety two seventy eight. The Seattle Mariner are finalizing
a new five year contract with first baseman Josh Naylor.
Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
And while the Monday night game will.
Speaker 7 (01:12:05):
Be Dallas at Las Vegas, you mentioned the Colts on
a bye, the Saints at two and a on a bye.
This weekend as well, Alabama fell to number ten in
the new College Football polls. For what that's worth, we'll
get the rankings on Tuesday, but you'd better be in
the top ten to be able to make the playoff.
The way things are looking, Texas was down to number
(01:12:26):
seventeen in AP today. The top three stayed the same
number one Ohio State, number two, Indiana, number three, Texas
A and M. And in the battle for the group
of fives playoff spot, James Madison is number twenty one
in AP, then North Texas number twenty two and two
Lane twenty four. Back to you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
You know, the ACC's got to look out Steve.
Speaker 6 (01:12:48):
Miami, and yeah, yeah they If Georgia Tech gets smoked
and loses another game and Miami gets beat, they had
a couple of those group of five teams, a group
of six.
Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
Whatever we're going with now, jump in front of him.
Speaker 7 (01:13:02):
If some ACC champion is ranked twentieth and still gets in,
you know, the eleventh rage BYU or whomever is gonna say,
are you kidding? We're left out of this?
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
All right? We got to get a break. But before
we do, I want to hit two quick tweets. I
like this from monkey Biz and Doug. He writes, well,
my Jaguars still find a way to hurt me even
with a solid win. I played the Chargers defense knowing
they were playing the Jaguars and got a negative result. Listen,
that's kind of a brilliant strategy, right, because even if
(01:13:34):
that team like Shuts doesn't do a good job.
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
And you lose your fantasy game, at least your team wins. Right.
But did I see before.
Speaker 5 (01:13:41):
Before the game, or maybe earlier in the week, reports
that Trevor Lawrence on the hot seat?
Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
Yeah, they should cut him, They should tread them to
the Raiders. Maybe he needs to go, Yeah, get him
out of there.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Do you think they would want to get rid of him?
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Though? I don't know. I don't know what that relationship
is like with him and their new coach, Liam, I
don't know. I don't know. I w Liam Cohen and
him seem like they spar every now and then but
I think you're crazy if you move on from Trevor Lawrence.
And again, you gotta remember I have now watched in
the last four years Gardner Minshew, Jimmy Garoppolo. I think
(01:14:19):
there was a stint with the dude that was a
falcon for like a minute as our quarterback A and
O'Connell the worst of Gino Smith can He Pickett took
a few snaps.
Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
You would take Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
And that's what I'm saying. That's like my defense here
for those who like, no, he's struggling, needs to go.
Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
If I would take him over to you would have
a week ago.
Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
And then Ryan writes, six wins and eleven losses get
you the ninth pick and next year's draft. By the way,
Arnie odds on a Tua injury next week.
Speaker 5 (01:14:51):
Oh what would you bring that up for with the
way we're playing right now, why would you bring that up?
Speaker 1 (01:14:58):
Geez, listen, it's it's inevitable. And then tiger Man I said,
two more, here's at third tiger Man, and you tasks
a very good question. Yeah, when is the appropriate time
to say cam Ward is a bust?
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
I think it's still too early the start of third year.
Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
Third year. Okay, you're giving the more patients than I
thought you would two years. Why it's two years?
Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
What do you want to give me? What a year?
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Well, you're you're not usually a patient laden person. You're
somebody if you have one bad game, you want them gone.
So that's why I'm saying, color me surprised.
Speaker 2 (01:15:30):
I'm wopid. Stop it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
All right, when we come back to the Fox Sports
Radio studios, let's get you caught up on the news notes,
tidbits from the day. That was week eleven of the
books in the NFL, and we're talking about it all
night on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's already in
plank right here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way,
I should mention because I haven't yet. We're on the
iHeart Radio app. Proud of that. You can stream us
(01:15:52):
wherever you happen to be. Catch us in all our
Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seven in
the new and improved iHeart Radio app. Just to search

so it will always pop up the top of your
screen when you're on the iHeartRadio app What's Up? Steve
(01:16:13):
the Seger.
Speaker 7 (01:16:16):
Sixteen, sixteen to nine, Philadelphia beat the Lions. Detroit's records
six and four now and Jared Goff in the second
half this evening was seven of twenty five passing. That
completion percentage for somebody with that many throws in a
second half was the worst in ten years. And the
next Gen stats people point out that they've been around
(01:16:37):
ten years, and they dug deeper and said on his
throws beyond the line of scrimmage for all four quarters.
He was just seven of twenty seven passing in this
road game tonight, which is off not a last decade
in that Meanwhile, you had the Jacoby Brissett game where
yes they lost at home to San Francisco, but he
(01:16:58):
threw for over four hundred and fifty yards on the
same day that Bryce Young threw for nearly four to
fifty for Carolina. Last time the NFL had two quarterbacks
throw for about four to fifty each same day was
almost a decade ago, when it was Derek Carr and
Kirk Cousins. Yes, Cousins did play today, he's still in
the league. But Brissett set the NFL record most completions
(01:17:19):
ever in a regular season game. He was forty seven
of fifty seven through the air for four hundred and
fifty two yards two touchdowns. Apparently there was a Ben
Roethlisberger wild card game where this ties that that has
the postseason record for all time. And I got to
mention Mark Andrews because he had quite a day. The
(01:17:41):
tight end had the game winning touchdown run as Baltimore
won at Cleveland. He lines up for a direct snap
fourth and one turns out not to be a touch
bush with two and a half minutes left home thirty
five yards for the score. And in this same game,
Andrews becomes number one in receiving yards all time. In
(01:18:01):
Ravens franchise history. There are very few franchises where your
top receiver in yards all time is a tight end.
It is the case with the Ravens, with the Chargers
and Antonio Gates, of course, with the Chiefs and Travis
Kelcey the only two others listed. Jason Witten's number one
Dallas for receiving yards all time, that's a tight end.
(01:18:21):
And Ozzie Newsome with Cleveland and Brissett's tight end was
pretty good again today. This guy for the Arizona Cardinals.
I mean, I know, fantasy people know they cried. But
he's nearing a record because he's not just getting a
catch a game. One of those types of streaks. This
is twelve straight games with at least five catches in each.
(01:18:44):
The record is fifteen straight games. Travis Kelcey in twenty eighteen,
if you said it before on the show, that the
Denver Broncos, who won their eighth straight game, are our
playoff contenders simply because of their defense, whether they do
anything else, and they did precious little else today, and
guess what they want again, field goal on the final play,
twenty two to nineteen over Kansas City. A few more sacks.
(01:19:07):
They're up to nearly fifty sacks as a team already
this year. To do that in only the first eleven
games of a season hasn't been done since the two
thousand New Orleans Saints we did in the NFL. Have
eight missed extra points this weekend. We still have a
game with the Raiders tomorrow night, so you know the
weekend's Oh, we got.
Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
Plenty, don't worry. Daniel Carson's been terrible.
Speaker 7 (01:19:29):
So bad, Vegas is hosting Dallas on Monday night. But
this first time in three years we've had eight missed
pats on the same NFL weekend, and we did have
the Gray Cup taking place in Canada. Tonight, the CFL
Championship game went to the Saskatchewan Roughriders beating Montreal twenty
five seventeen. I was unaware that in two years the
(01:19:51):
CFL is going to have a one hundred yard field
just like football here instead of the one ten. The
end zones are still going to be a little larger,
but they are in a couple of years going to
move the goalposts off the goal line finally and put
them in the back of the end zone. But when
they got some pushback to this announcement earlier this year,
they had to say, oh, we're still going to have
(01:20:12):
three downs for CFL football and unlimited motion and all
of this, but there are changes coming.
Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Nobody cares about CFL football and Canada. To be explained
that when I.
Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Filled in in Canada, we talked more about preseason hockey
than we did CFL.
Speaker 7 (01:20:27):
Well, hockey, it's kind of a big thing.
Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
When did you fill in in Canada.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
Oh wow, ago, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
Some thirty five years ago, I know, probably like nineteen
ninety five.
Speaker 7 (01:20:37):
The teams in the NHL didn't exist.
Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
Yeah, gosh, all right, thanks Steve, we'll talk to you more.
In fact, the segre's got an update coming up here
in mere moments. And when we come back after week eleven,
we know this next on Fox Sports Radio. What a week?
What a Sunday? More one score games are final that
(01:21:01):
doesn't make any sense, More games that they hinded with
a walk off field goal, more tight games. And we've
seen all season long, more teams that entered the fourth
quarter trailing and finding a way to win. And we've
seen what is it in the last two seasons. I
know we usually get caught up in what it looks
like before the weekend starts. But Arnie, what a Sunday
(01:21:23):
for the National Football League?
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
Finally, finally, we finally we had the.
Speaker 5 (01:21:29):
Good matchups, good games, back and forth forth quarter games.
We had exactly what we wanted it. It was surely
a good weekend, no doubt about that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
Do you want to start? I dug up all now, listen,
let me stop for a moment. I simply transferred to
file our incredible editing crew behind the scenes. He had
Fox Sports Radio Patrick make sure that they they get
us all the highlights. Mary makesh we go I'm here
to play. They did a great job. I have all
(01:21:58):
five of the walk off field goal call, so well,
listen to this next segment.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
I know you don't care about radio calls.
Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
I'm a radio guy, So I'm a radio guy. What
you You're a radio guy, but you'd rather reenact the
call than actually hear the play by play guy, I
think that you don't You don't care about the call.
You just you would reenact it. But I will say
for those who haven't had a chance to dive into
the full show, don't forget. You can download the podcast
as soon as we're done. But Arnie, you're on cloud
nine because let's see what all happened for you. Your
(01:22:28):
Dolphins are going to the playoffs, Arizona football deserves a
playoff spot because they got robbed, and Arizona basketball is
going undefeated.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
Right. You know, this is the best of my teams
have looked in the twelve years we've been doing the show.
This is well the Knicks, the Knicks too, This is
the This is the best time of all my teams
winning in the twelve years that we've been we've been together.
How about that the Knicks are eight and four right now.
They're currently the second team in the West. In the East,
(01:22:57):
they'd be about the fourth or fifth.
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
Team in the West. But it's off to a nice start.
I kind of no NBA talk probably for a couple
more weeks on the show really in depth. I kind
of think that I think my Thunder are a wagon again.
Noticed they're now my Thunder And I kind of think
Detroit's pretty good. Yeah, cunning games coming around.
Speaker 5 (01:23:15):
They are, there's no doubt about that. It's it's going
to be the Nicks and the Eastern Conference Finals. So
I was going to go to the game the other night.
They had back to back home games.
Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
They're in a three way tie for second, and you're saying, oh, yeah, they're.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
There, Yeah, Yeah, they're there. I was.
Speaker 5 (01:23:28):
I was going to go to the game, but I
didn't want to spend the money. That were kind of pricey,
and I'm already go to the Arizona Yukon game that
was a little pricey too.
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
After Week eleven of the National Football League, Arnie Spaniard,
I know this, Where do you want to start?
Speaker 5 (01:23:42):
There's so many plays to start. Well, I brought this
up earlier, so I want to continue with this. After
week eleven. I know this, the race for the wild
Card is going to be phenomenal. I mean absolutely phenomenal.
Maybe not some of the divisional races, but the wild
card races are good, good. I can't wait to see
who's actually going to pull it out in the AFC.
(01:24:04):
But so many teams you got. You'll have Buffalo, Pittsburgh
and the Chargers, along with Jacksonville, Texans, and Kansas City
and the Ravens, and all separated by like one game.
So in the lost column, it's it's gonna be a
phenomenal race. It's going to be a great last two
or three weeks of the season.
Speaker 1 (01:24:22):
This year, you realize that just four contexts. Not that
I'm here to tell you when you're wrong, but in
the preseason when you said six of the eight divisional
battles are over, I think I only think one of
those teams is leading their division right now. I think
I picked Buffalo. They're not going to win the division there.
(01:24:42):
In second, you had Baltimore in this, you had Houston
in the South. You had the Chiefs in the West.
Speaker 5 (01:24:50):
So I got the whole Ams wrong. I think you
even had PHILADELI I did that Philadelphia. I gave you Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
You didn't get You didn't take the Rams, you didn't
take anyone in the South. And I think you took
the Lions, so I think. But I but I did
call the tough one.
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
I said, if there was a team that was going
to go to worst the first, it could be the
Chicago Bears. Are you buying them right now? Oh yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
I mean, I know they've won their last but three
games on late in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
And what is this skill to winning a close game?
Speaker 1 (01:25:18):
I mean, I'm just I'm not trying to be a
smart e Look, but it's it's wild how they have.
This is not disrespectful, big Cat. They'll get mad at me,
Mike North. They've backed into some dubs, arn't he. I mean,
they really have. And I know Caleb Williams, that's my
guy and I've been fighting for him from day one.
But this is three straight wins, and you could argue
(01:25:39):
they had no business winning any of those three games.
Speaker 5 (01:25:41):
I've never seen the team seven to three and they're
still minus six and point differential, Yeah, which hard to do.
Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
I think they the only game I look at and say,
yeah they won that game might be the Cowboys game
right now. Raiders should have beat him, Commanders should have
beat him. Uh, the Bengals had them beat, the Giants
had them beat. Today was was weird because JJ McCarthy,
I guess he socks.
Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
Have you noticed that with the Vikings? I think he's terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
I mean this is literally one of the greatest examples
of that thin margin of air because they could easily
be a three, seven, three and seventeen right now instead
of seven and three. I mean, heck, they could be
two and eight probably.
Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
Right now, right right.
Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
But you know, it takes a while to turn around
a losing, losing mindset, and that's what they were good
one year, Yeah, good one year in Kansas City in
one one score games. Last year they were with like
ten and one.
Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:26:38):
This year, what are they? Zero and five? So eventually
it catches up to you.
Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Every little mistake just seems to crush you. Right now, Okay,
after week eleven, Arnie, I know this, the Bills are
still a squad. I guess we got to look back. Now,
what are they two? And two in their last four
at Miami.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
Tell you about this before the season, No, you.
Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Said you thought that anyway, I think they're really good,
and you got the key on Coleman stuff coming up.
I said, I think they have a squad. I think
that they've shown a way to overcome adversity. They had
the two game losing streak after they started four to oh.
They lost last week to the Dolphins in embarrassing style.
But they've got the Texas next week and then the
Steelers after that. We don't know what the Steelers quarterback
(01:27:22):
situation is gonna look like.
Speaker 2 (01:27:24):
Six T.
Speaker 1 (01:27:24):
D's responsible from joshing.
Speaker 5 (01:27:27):
The other way, I think, No, yeah, I thought you
were gonna saying, okay, look good offensively, but they're still
not there defensively.
Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
Well okay, well there is that that that is the
pink elephant in the room right now, And you're one
hundred percent right, don't be right, don't be randy on
my belief in Buffalo, my pointing out facts right now exactly.
But I like him. I like them. I still think
they're might pick for the AFC. I think they're going
to find a way. They've got they if they don't
get it done this year. McDermott's gone, right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
I don't think so. I mean, you know, I don't
think they're just gonna go up and fire him.
Speaker 1 (01:27:58):
I mean, what if they get if they fall short
of the AFC Championship game, well.
Speaker 5 (01:28:03):
They're not going to win the division. So that's very
possible that that's going to happen.
Speaker 1 (01:28:07):
Well, I mean, they're a whole game back of New
England right now. I mean, you're you're acting like they're
four games back. I mean, you didn't believe in New
England two weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
Now now they're unstoppable after week eleven. I know this.
Speaker 5 (01:28:19):
I tried to explain this to you and we just
talked about it. I said, don't turn your back on Jacksonville,
and that's exactly what you did. And the Chargers did,
and look what happened today, thirty five to six.
Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
They absolutely dominated them.
Speaker 5 (01:28:33):
Though I am kind of doing a one eighty on
Trevor Lawrence and you know how much I love that guy,
but I'm starting to think that this guy looks maybe
he could take you to the playoffs, but he's never
gonna do much, you know, much after that.
Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
I mean, he has won a playoff game. But it's
just like him. Now you're making a case for him.
Speaker 1 (01:28:52):
I like Trevor Lawrence. I've always liked him. I mean,
he's I think he's good. I mean, and listen, here's
some stats from today's game. This is courtesy of Daniel Popper.
Thirty first downs allowed most from a Chargers defense since
twenty twenty three, twenty two minute and five second time
of possession by the Chargers, lowest for any hardball coached
(01:29:16):
NFL team ever, And the Jaguars average distance to gain
was six point nine, the lowest for any team in
a game this year. So, in other words, they were
just slashing them and they were on the field the
whole time. I mean, I know these these kind of
rimories are ever green, but I kind of think I'm
doing one adi on the Jaguars too. The Raiders should
(01:29:37):
have beat them, but they were terrible against Vegas. But Josh,
I'm sorry, Trevor Lawrence. I like him, Arnie, I'd love
him as my quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
Right we should? We should one time rank the best
of the average quarterback should already mean the.
Speaker 1 (01:29:52):
Well, let me ask this, who would you all consider
average quarterbacks? Right now? I mean, to the Trevor you
know those guys. Yeah, well what didn't how many elite
quarters are there?
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
Would I would it be fair to throw Sam Darnold
in that mix or not? He threugh four picks today,
so I mean that is fair.
Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
We have not talked in two hours and ten minutes
so far because Patrick Sweek has blocked.
Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
It from our mind as a Seahawks fan.
Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
But I kind of still came away impressed with Seattle
in that arty after Week eleven. I know this, when
your quarterback throws four interceptions and you're not as you're
going up against a team that had a lot of
things go right for him today in the Rams, and
you still have a field goal kick to win the game.
Speaker 2 (01:30:30):
Three interceptions, they may win that game. You know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
Yeah, exactly exactly that real man, now, dude, Mike McDonald.
I love watching his defenses. I love watching his defenses.
They get after it and they got dudes. They got
dudes everywhere. But are you buying Seattle at all? Even
after the loss today?
Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
Oh yeah, I'm still buying them. Like you said, their
defense is so good. I I the Rams had a
couple of times to kind of put them away. Yeah,
And next thing you know, I'm watching the game on
red Zone.
Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
I'm like, did the Rams win? What?
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
Are ready?
Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
They put it away? They let Seattle kind.
Speaker 5 (01:31:03):
Of hang around and hang around, hang around next to
you know, Seattle is a.
Speaker 2 (01:31:06):
Chance to win the game. I mean, Mike, goodness, Frams
has lost that one. They have nobody to blame but
themselves in that one.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
I'm gonna tell you, by the way after Oh, I'm sorry,
I was just gonna say I felt the same way.
I felt the same way when they went back to it.
I'm like, why are they still showing the Seahawks in
the Rams? This thing's over right. The Rams got it,
And the next thing you know, Seahawks are there in
a position to kick a field goal to try to
win the game. So, hey, good win for the Rams.
I'm not disrespecting it. I'm just saying I came away
as impressed with the Seahawks because I don't think Sam
(01:31:35):
Donald's gonna have many four interception games. This isn't Hey
New York Jets, Sam Donald, Moto. Sam Donald's no that door.
Speaker 5 (01:31:44):
After week eleven, I know this and it kind of
took me through ten eleven weeks to realize this.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
And the team lost today.
Speaker 5 (01:31:52):
So it wasn't because the team played great without him,
and it's not because the quarterback threw so many passes.
But Murray for the Cardinals, Kyler Murray, he's.
Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
Not coming back. He's you think he's he done, He's
come on, he's Oh, I'm not arguing, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (01:32:08):
I have a better chance of being a quarterback for
that team than for the Cardinals that Murray does next year.
My only question is where and who wants him? Who's
gonna want this guy to be the face of their team?
And can he play in the NFL?
Speaker 1 (01:32:22):
Can?
Speaker 5 (01:32:23):
I mean you used to think that he wasn't much
going to be much of a player, right.
Speaker 1 (01:32:28):
Oh no, no, no, I thought Jalen wasn't getting I
love Kyler. I like Kyler is my guy. I think
I want him in Vegas. Yeah, you would like him
in Vegas. Oh my gosh, I would kick doors down
to go get Kyler Murray.
Speaker 5 (01:32:41):
Possible that that could be possibility. They're saying the Jets
that I can see that also.
Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
So I rode in the elevator with the Arizona Cardinals
scout that was at the Alabama game. Where did you
have to catch ut Oclumba one this weekend, anyone.
Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
I didn't know that, did you? Have you heard the
play by play call from my man Toby Rowland of
the Eli Bowen Pick six yet, I mean, he's really good.
We'll get to it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Late calling the play by play for those games because
you would be terrible at it.
Speaker 1 (01:33:09):
But yeah, I mean I rode with the Airs on
a Cardinal Scout and I, you know, of course, immediately
started asking about Kyler. And I again, I know he's
not gonna give me some sort of secret information. The
first time I meet a guy and we're trying to
find how to get to the field at saving field
at brand Any Stadium. I know he's not gonna eat
any secrets. But I said, man, I still believe in Kyler.
(01:33:30):
And his response to me was, so do we. So.
I don't know if it was like a coach speak
thing or a scout speak thing or something, but that's
my little intel I got for you this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Who would you rather have Kyler, Murray Tua or bow
Knicks right now?
Speaker 9 (01:33:48):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
I thought you're gonna throw Trevor Lawrence and Lawrence are
all four of them.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
Okay, so my choices are Kyler Murray, bo Nicks, Trevor Lawrence,
and who'djelse? You too?
Speaker 2 (01:34:02):
I know my answer?
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
Go ahead, Patrick, Kyler Murray, I don't want caller Murray.
Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
People say you're crazy for that, but I'm not sure
you're wrong on that, to be honest, and I don't.
I think I like to do it right now.
Speaker 1 (01:34:15):
I guess Hey, listen, I can't hate on the Broncos
bo Nicks and they finally too.
Speaker 2 (01:34:21):
It's tough to hate on them.
Speaker 5 (01:34:22):
But why do I get the feeling that Bronco fans
if they could get another quarterback in exchange for Boenicks,
they would do it in a heartbeat.
Speaker 1 (01:34:30):
You think it's it's gonna end up in a situation
in a couple of years where bo Nix is like
Russell Wilson, Remember they when all of a sudden, there's
these stories about he has his own office and he
has his own stretching coach. All right, anything else you
want to get in? After week eleven, we know this.
I got one more. Well, I was gonna say, after
week eleven, I know this. And it took late to
figure this out. What the hell's wrong with the Lions offense.
Speaker 5 (01:34:52):
Man, it's just not the offense we learn from what
two years ago? Last year, it's you know, where's that
double dual running back?
Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
And I'll throw it to anyone on.
Speaker 5 (01:35:02):
My team because we have like three wide receivers, four
wide receivers and we have two tight ends.
Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
What happened to everybody? What's going on there?
Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
I don't know. It's a good question. That's a great question,
my last one before we break after week eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
I know this. I can't sit here and tell you
that the Raiders are good.
Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
I can't sit here and tell you the amount of
hours that I waste watching them every single Sunday on
he because they're so terrible. And I would throw that
into you know, most of the red zone games, it's
got Hansen ghost. So he's like, let's take you to Cleveland.
I'm like, no, don't take me to Cleveland. But I'll
tell you this much, through all of that bad there's
one thing that brings me joy in the National Football League,
and that's getting to watch Jameis Winston play quarterback. It
(01:35:42):
is a roller coaster unlike anything you've ever been on
in your life. Right, Oh, I love now I would
hate it if it was my team. That was my
disclaimer that I was gonna say, would you watch? I
was going, you want somebody like you No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
They're they're fine, they're fine. They let him stay in
New York. But it is he'll throw these balls that
you're like, there's no way that's got that got completed.
(01:36:03):
And then he'll throw a ball that is he's the
number one pick, that's the Florida State quarterback. Man, that's
that dude, that's Jamis freaking Winston. And then he'll throw
one You're like, what in the world is that guy doing?
You had the full gamut of it today and it
was fun. Man.
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
It was a fun game for his low scoring and
as gross as it was.
Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
Weather starting to kick up, Barney Weather starting to kick up,
to notice the wins today and that Giants the game
I'm talking about in the Giants Packers game, what we
had with the Broncos last week and the Raider. We're
starting to get some weather games out there. Nothing yet,
well it's still I means still only November seventeenth, so
we have time. We have time before that. But did
(01:36:43):
you get to catch any of Jamis today and his
first start in a couple of years.
Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
I saw, you know, I'm watching red Zone.
Speaker 1 (01:36:51):
You're watching red Zone.
Speaker 5 (01:36:52):
Yeah, so I'm seeing his big plays out there, and
I mean, look, he's still be cause he's still got it,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:36:59):
He got he's gotta lead you to a victory.
Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
If you have to bring him in there and win
a game. He did a pretty good job.
Speaker 1 (01:37:05):
I thought nineteen of twenty nine two hundred and one
yards did have the pick, ran the ball a couple
times as well. But it's just I'm not trying to
tell I don't know what I'm trying to say. I'm
not trying to tell you he's good. I'm not on
the Raiders. I don't want him on my team, but man,
I can't help but watch him every time he plays
because you kind of know what you're going to get
and it might not be a win. It's probably not
(01:37:27):
going to be a win, but it sure is going
to be fun. And that twenty seven to twenty Packers
one of the Giants was kind of a fun game
to watch. I'm not gonna lie, all right, anything else
you want to get to you, are you ready to
break and here some highlights.
Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
I'm ready to hear some highlights. Let's going to do
it all.
Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
Five of the game winning field goal calls coming up
next with Arnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
All right, you ready, Arnie?
Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
Yeah, we had I don't want to say like history,
but for the first time in a minute, we had
multiple walk offs in the National Football League. This note
was sent out by the NFL and the Senday Night
Football in factor into this, but we had five teams
(01:38:10):
who scored the game winning points game winning score on
the final play today. It tied with Week ten, twenty
twenty three and Week four, twenty eighteen for the most
on a single day. And it started. Is your play
by play guy? Okay, by the way, have you heard
this yet?
Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
Let's they bring on Patterson to try and win this thing.
This will be a twenty nine yard field goal attempt always.
Speaker 5 (01:38:34):
I'll kick yours up and the Dolphins win it in Madrid.
Speaker 1 (01:38:40):
Thh, My man wasn't gonna make it to them field
goal call there.
Speaker 5 (01:38:42):
It's amazing how many play by play people get sore
throats doing one game a week, but people who do
radio five days as well.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
In fairness, he probably does a game and also has
a radio show. He's not. Most of these guys aren't
just doing one game a week. Carnie.
Speaker 5 (01:38:58):
By the way, you know who's getting criticized on his
play by play?
Speaker 1 (01:39:01):
Now, who's that?
Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
Gus Johnson?
Speaker 1 (01:39:06):
Why? Because he never really calls play by play?
Speaker 2 (01:39:09):
No digit Well one, did you hear his voice? Well
you wouldn't you were doing your game. So his voice
cracked up at the end of the Indiana game.
Speaker 1 (01:39:18):
No yeah, two weeks ago. Oh yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
I was watching and people say that, Oh he's a phony.
Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
Anyway, He's not a phony. I go out.
Speaker 2 (01:39:27):
I think he's a great guy. I love him.
Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:39:29):
Here was the final call of the Houston Texans finding
a way to beat the Tennessee twenty five yard field
goal totep for the win.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
White hashbark for Matthew White. Here's the spot, here's the chick.
Speaker 1 (01:39:42):
It's good. The Texan's winning.
Speaker 5 (01:39:44):
At the buzzer and they get back to five hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
Relax yourself, it's just the Titans.
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
The Chicago Bears, Tyroo Santras the eight on his white jersey.
Speaker 2 (01:39:55):
Oh waiting a snap, snap is back? Hold is good sweek.
Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
The right leg.
Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Cairo Santos is up, He's God, God God.
Speaker 10 (01:40:05):
From forty eight Cairo Santos moomped. How the Viking logo.
Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
Bears with it?
Speaker 10 (01:40:11):
Nineteen seventeen. Another comeback crime by Kleb Williams, The Iceman coming.
How the Bears take it from the Vikings.
Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Who would you rather have as your quarterback for the future?
JJ McCarthy or Michael Pennix? Are Bryce Young? JJ McCarthy,
Michael Pennocks or Bryce Young?
Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
Gosh, I'll probably go at Pennix.
Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
He got hurt today. It looks like he reaggravated his knee,
but he was involved in this this walk off, It's
a twenty eight yarder for the win. JJ.
Speaker 11 (01:40:50):
The snap, Martin puts it down, Fitzgerald swings the leg,
the kick is good, and the Panthers walk it off
and over time again Atlanta. Your final score Carolina thirty,
Atlanta twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
Ryan Fitzgerald, the game won a kick. I like the
way the color commentator gave it away before the play
by play guy.
Speaker 5 (01:41:12):
Yeah, yeah, all you hate that, Uh don't you good?
Speaker 1 (01:41:16):
Yes? Shut up? Yeah, but the play by play guy
have his glory.
Speaker 5 (01:41:21):
I know we got if you and I were doing that,
I wouldn't be like, go, Krislin's good, look at it,
Grizin's good.
Speaker 1 (01:41:26):
You can't even do that on the show, So I mean,
I don't know you would do it in the game.
And one more from the Broncos and what they were
calling the biggest Denver home game in a minute snap
placement kick on the.
Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
Way and it is good.
Speaker 9 (01:41:42):
They don't block this one like last year in Kansas City.
And on the final play of the game, the Denver
Broncos have beaten the Kansas City Chiefs by a final
score of twenty two to nineteen.
Speaker 1 (01:41:56):
Then all right, and then two quick post game cuts
here Tomlin gave us an update on Aaron Rodgers' injury
after the Steelers win today. Aaron's obviously out with the
risk injury. It'll be evaluated in the morning. I'll give
you guys more information there. Thanks coach, and uh finally
should Doors Sanders on making his NFL debut today.
Speaker 4 (01:42:18):
First and foremost, Fuey, thank God from giving me the
opportunity to get out there. That's all you could ask for, honestly,
the chance to get out there, get your feet wet,
to experience how it feels, you know, to even be
out there with the team, with the first group, with everybody.
(01:42:40):
So I'm truly he was exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
There you go, we're putting the least so at least
see we're not.
Speaker 5 (01:42:49):
He didn't say anything like, man, I my teammates let
me down.
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
They really could have carried me a little bit. They
gotta give you more protection. He had. He had to.
Speaker 5 (01:42:59):
Uh intentional grounding calls against him, I believe, so he
didn't do a good job there.
Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
He just kind of panicked and threw him away.
Speaker 5 (01:43:07):
Obviously, he's got a long way to go and a
lot to learn just his first game, and they threw
him in there. I wonder how much he's gonna get
better for the next game when he gets to take
all the reps with the first team, knowing that he'll
be the starter next week.
Speaker 1 (01:43:19):
I will say, I do find it funny, aren't he
Whenever there's some people that like that is an elite
throw there was. He did good today. There was nothing
elite about what he did. I think Josina Anderson at
a tweet look at this, and I don't know if
it was sarcasm or not, but guys, every first time
starting quarterback is going to struggle or when they get
into a game and I don't know, he didn't look
(01:43:41):
that didn't look like an NFL quarterback to me.
Speaker 2 (01:43:43):
No it didn't. No, it didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:43:45):
Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. But you know, maybe he.
Speaker 5 (01:43:48):
Should have played in the Canadian Football League for a
little bit. Seriously, they got a lot of reps in there.
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
You know, I don't think you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
Oh, play in the.
Speaker 2 (01:43:55):
Arena football like like Warner did.
Speaker 1 (01:43:58):
There you go with after week eleven, we learned this
and all of the exciting highlights from the big finishes
today in the National Football League. Here with all the
news notes and tidbits with what's trending at Steve the
Seger in the house. What's up, Steve.
Speaker 7 (01:44:10):
We'll get to the late afternoon games in a moment.
There was the Sunday Night contest and windy Philadelphia attempts
in the low forties, not a whole lot of kicking success,
although Jake Elliott had a couple short ones early, wound
up three for three on field goals and Philadelphia is
now eight and two after beating Detroit sixteen to nine.
Jalen Hurts with a key one yard touchdown run just
before halftime. Running Back Jamier Gibbs of the Lions had
(01:44:33):
five receptions for one hundred and seven yards, but I'm
and Ross Saint Brown was targeted twelve times and had
two catches. The Lions on fourth down conversions went oh
for five. Detroit's offense thirteen drives, thirteen first downs. Denver
won its eighth straight game, beat Kansas City twenty two
to nineteen on a field goal on the final play.
Will Lutz went five for five on field goals, including
(01:44:54):
a fifty four yarder with about four minutes to go.
Bo Nick's two hundred and ninety five yards pass seeing
the Broncos at home now six to oh. Each team
with ten penalties. Today, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelcey did
set a franchise record with his eighty fourth total touchdown.
He had nine catches ninety one yards, but Kansas City's
five and five. The Chiefs have lost five straight close
(01:45:15):
games after literally winning every close game last year. Patrick
Maholmes one touchdown, one interception. The Rams won their fifth
in a row, beating Seattle twenty one nineteen as Sam
Darnold from USC through four interceptions in La the Seahawks
missed a sixty one yard field goal attempt on the
last play it was short. Jason Myers had been four
(01:45:36):
for four on field goals, including a fifty seven yarder.
We talk often about that's a great kicking environment, Sofi Stadium.
Matthew Stafford two more touchdown passes, one to DeVante Adams,
who was targeted eight times but just had the one
one yard reception It was for a touchdown. The Rams offense,
doing its Oklahoma impersonation, eleven drives, twelve first downs at
(01:45:59):
another w Kyron Williams on twelve carries had ninety one
yards in a score Cooper Cup. The x RAM had
three catches Seattle on red zone tds one for four,
so they had twenty six first downs, not a lot
of cashing in. Lost by two. San Francisco forty one
twenty two winners at Arizona back at quarterback Brock Party
with three touchdown passes, two to tight end George Kittle,
(01:46:22):
Arizona with three turnovers. The Cardinals had seventeen penalties. San
Francisco had one. That is the second largest penalty differential
in an NFL game.
Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Since at least two.
Speaker 7 (01:46:35):
It is insane as insane as the day Jacoby Burssett
had for the Cardinals, because he was forty seven for
fifty seven passing for four hundred and fifty two yards,
two touchdowns, two interceptions. Michael Wilson was targeted eighteen times
and finished.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
With running backs on that team answers, No, nobody running back?
Speaker 7 (01:46:57):
Yeah, well, who do you want? James Connor Fifteen receptions
for Michael Wilson one hundred eighty five yards.
Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
On the ground.
Speaker 7 (01:47:04):
As a team, Arizona fourteen carries thirty six yards. That's
not going to hack it against Christian McCaffrey, who had
three more touchdowns total. He had thirteen carries eighty one
yards rushing, plus another five catches for forty yards. Baltimore
won at Cleveland twenty three sixteen. Browns quarterback Dylan Gabriel
left with a concussion. Shudor Sanders was four of sixteen
(01:47:26):
passing forty seven yards in a pick. Defensive end Miles
Garrett did have four sacks. The Brown's offense twelve drives,
ten first downs. They were in it to the end,
but with about two and a half minutes left, tight
end Mark Andrews had the game winning touchdown run lined
up for a direct snap on fourth and one and
did not go up the middle. He went thirty five
yards for a score. Lamar Jackson threw two interceptions. Derrick
(01:47:49):
Henry On eighteen carries one hundred three yards rushing in
a touchdown. So don't look now, but the Ravens have
won four in a row. They're up to five and five,
Browns two and eight. Buffalo four four to thirty two
over Tampa Bay. Josh Allen three touchdown runs, three touchdown passes.
Jacksonville beat the Chargers thirty five to six. LA held
(01:48:09):
to one hundred thirty five total yards. Chicago won on
a field goal final play at Minnesota. Houston won on
a field goal final play at Tennessee. Green Bay beat
the Giants twenty seven to twenty on a touchdown pass
with about four minutes to go, Christian Watson's second TD
of the day. Pittsburgh over Cincinnati thirty four to twelve,
but Aaron Rodgers left and Mason Rudolph played quarterback after
(01:48:31):
that due to the left wrist slash hand injury of Rogers.
Carolina won in overtime at Atlanta. Falcons have lost five straight.
Bryce Young four hundred and forty eight yards passing three touchdowns,
and in Madrid, Miami beat Washington sixteen thirteen in overtime.
Commanders have lost six straight. And guys, this was the
last of the league's seven international games this year. Next
(01:48:53):
year they'll be back in Mexico as Techas Stadium has
been renovated, getting ready for the World Cup next summer,
which they will co host with US in Canada. Rio
is going to be the Brazil city for the NFL
next year. Of course, the UK is going to host,
and we know for certain the Rams are playing in
Melbourne next year. And as we always say, we give
the international crowd nothing but the best. And today in
(01:49:18):
the Miami Washington game, fourth quarter each well yeah, six
six at halftime, two field goals each, but fourth quarter
each team was stopped on fourth and goal at the one.
Then Washington missed a fifty six yard field goal attempt
and Matt Gay had also missed a fifty one yard
attempt in the first half, and then first play of
overtime Marcus Mariotta through an interception. So goodness, somebody had
(01:49:40):
to win Monday night. It's Dallas at Las Vegas. By
the way, the Dallas Mavericks were three to ten until
tonight's overtime win against Portland. Anthony Davis and the MAVs
will miss at least another week to ten days with
ostraan caf. He's now missed nine straight games. Lebron James
will practice fully, according to reports Monday with the Lakers.
He practiced with the G League T team last week,
(01:50:00):
trying to return from a bad back. Houston Rockets won
in overtime against Orlando. Utah in double overtime, beat Chicago
one fifty to one, forty seven as lowry market and
had forty seven points for the Utah Jazz.
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
And it's right.
Speaker 7 (01:50:15):
Atlanta was down twenty two at Phoenix with under ten
minutes left and still beat the Suns one twenty four,
one twenty two.
Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
Back to you, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:50:26):
Before you leave with Jacoby brissetto in the fifty seven passes,
I'm like, think of.
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
All the great running backs Arizona had, and only one
came to mind. I couldn't think of history in history, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
Who came to mind?
Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Well, you can't even think of what really. One came
to mind, one came to notice, No one came to mind.
But he's not really a cardinal running back at.
Speaker 1 (01:50:48):
Youer and James played there, right, yeah, O j Anderson
st we go back right st Lewis, MTT Smith, Emitt
Smith played Arizona. That was it.
Speaker 2 (01:50:56):
That was the only one I could think of that die.
It's like David Johnson running back Atty Good run there.
Nobody remembers him though.
Speaker 1 (01:51:04):
That's It's crazy, isn't it, because he was on fire.
He was an MVP camp Otherwise they running backs.
Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
Geez, Tennis data by the way to Saga real quick.
I'm sorry. I'll give this Sweeten a moment. I know
you want to go.
Speaker 7 (01:51:18):
That's just fine. I love this show.
Speaker 1 (01:51:19):
What was that today from the Chargers? Like, is that
how they're going to be without Joe All? I mean,
what what was that?
Speaker 7 (01:51:26):
It hasn't been so it's not only it can't be,
but it shouldn't be. It's it was so bad. You
can't blame the injuries. Put it that way, because I
know running back Kamani Videale left with a thigh injury briefly,
so they were on their fourth and fifth string running
backs and they already through the first seven weeks of
the season, were up to tackles number six and seven
(01:51:47):
for the season. So it's been fair to say a
lot of the games justin Herbert, who does have talent,
had nothing in front of him and nothing behind him.
But the receivers were there and they just didn't move
the eight first downs and Jacksonville had thirty and still
this was a seven to six game late first half
thirty five six Jags the final. This is not good.
(01:52:09):
This was a great day for Jacksonville, by the way,
because they've already beaten a team head to head they
could tie with. Now they've beaten the Chargers head to head. Well,
I you know that one team they'd already beaten wes
Kansas City. Maybe that's not even a playoff consideration anymore
because you know, Chiefs are five and five and have
to play the Colts next week.
Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
But by the way, what what quick question outside the
outside football? This is probably one that you liked, like
who was a bigger knucklehead the trooper at the Texas
A and M game. Yes, that's the answer, or well
I did get to the other guy.
Speaker 7 (01:52:41):
That's still the answer.
Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
The referee at the Laker Milwaukee game. Well, I have
seen all that.
Speaker 5 (01:52:47):
The referee at the Laker Milwaukee game after the Lakers
won by what thirty? Oh?
Speaker 7 (01:52:51):
With the ball?
Speaker 5 (01:52:52):
Yes, the Lakers took the basketball because one of their
rookies had never scored before the NBA, so they're giving
him the ball. And the referee said, well, Milwaukee watched
the ball back. He can't have it. It's their basketball,
their home game, and yacht is what what what the hell?
Y'all has grabbed the ball and gave it to the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (01:53:14):
Can add one more? How about how about the Alabama
Karen that wouldn't let us take pictures on the logo
after the game?
Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:53:22):
I saw that?
Speaker 1 (01:53:22):
Yeah, I mean that's That's Oklahoma Stadium. Now we own that.
That's our place.
Speaker 7 (01:53:27):
There is a little history of the you know, stumping
on the lid.
Speaker 2 (01:53:31):
There was trying to get on the logo or what.
Speaker 1 (01:53:33):
No, I was I was too busy chasing around Coach Finnables.
That was my job on Saturday. All right, thanks to
saying your great stuff, buddy, have a great week.
Speaker 5 (01:53:41):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:53:42):
All right, when we come back, it's what you all
came for. Arnie six or next on Fox Sports Radio, Mary,
do you even know who the Bengals are? I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
All right, they look like an Egyptian.
Speaker 1 (01:53:55):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
Actually, we know I do.
Speaker 1 (01:53:57):
I know this on that's all. I great job by
Mary mac tonight. Always choosing the hits.
Speaker 5 (01:54:05):
That's not the good, that's not the I got the
mixed up. That's not the girl that dated the Dodger picture.
Speaker 1 (01:54:11):
No, no, that's we got the beat car.
Speaker 2 (01:54:14):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:54:14):
Yeah, yeah, exactly, Steve Sacks, the go go.
Speaker 2 (01:54:18):
No it was it was Mike Marshall.
Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
No, she didn't date Mike Marshall. She dated Steve Sacks.
Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
He's nodding his head, yes, yes, oh wait, no, not
Steve Sack.
Speaker 1 (01:54:27):
Marshall.
Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
Yeah it Mike Marshall. I told you the first baseman
right right field, right field.
Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
I thought I talked mute.
Speaker 7 (01:54:34):
He wasn't really good at either, but he could hit.
Speaker 2 (01:54:38):
Listen, man, I will not have mid eighty Dodgers. Yeah, don't,
don't go get through with that. Don't do that.
Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
This is the only thing that I know. But I
guess you know what I'm gonna tell you guys right now.
On November seventeenth, twenty twenty five, something, I thought I
knew my whole life. I just found out I didn't
I thought it was Steve Sackson game in Carlisle of
the Go Gos, Steve sitting down at Steve Sacks day
to go go. No, that's my whole life, that's my
(01:55:05):
whole life. I thought that day to go go Who knew?
All right? Anyway? Great choice, Mary, great job tonight, Patrick
Sweeka on getting us, Todd Furman and also all the
audio with the guys behind the scenes, Steve Disager on updates.
It's that time. We do it every Sunday night, Arnie's picks.
Take it away, stinking genius.
Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
Let's do it.
Speaker 5 (01:55:22):
Not a bad weekend. Six and four in college five
and three in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
So I did pretty well. Let's get right to college football.
Too many points gotta take for Chris plus to thirty
three and a half on the road against Ohio State,
My Sooners, Chris, have you been watching my sooners? My friend?
Speaker 1 (01:55:42):
Have you?
Speaker 5 (01:55:42):
I called the upset over Alabama last weekend?
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
I told you they were gonna win, even not to
call that I did. I did, I had called that one.
Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
Did you? Okay? Good on you?
Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
Uh No, go ahead and beat Missouri late to nine
and a half. There love USC plus to nine and
a half on the road at Oregon. I look for
Texas to bounce back. Lay the ten and a half
against Arkansas. Give me Tennessee laying the three and a
half on the road in Florida. I like BYU all
year long. I'll lay the two and a half on
the road in Cincinnati.
Speaker 1 (01:56:16):
Okay, you so Goklahoma. I'm just making sure you had
You had five upsets, and I think you hit two
of them.
Speaker 2 (01:56:21):
Not bad, not bad, and almost hit the almost hit
the Northwestern one too, but you did. Yeah. Give me BYU.
Minused the two and a half in Cincinnati, and my
Arizona Wildcats.
Speaker 5 (01:56:35):
Minus six against Baylor. We still have a chance to
go to the Big Twelve Championship. I don't know if
you know that, Like.
Speaker 1 (01:56:41):
Yeah, it's like the same chance that I have of
still dating Alisa Milano.
Speaker 2 (01:56:45):
Yeah, that's pretty much the same. Give me the Cowboys
minus three and a half against Las Vegas, of course,
and I'm taking the Bills minus three and a half
on was that Thursday night against the Texans.
Speaker 5 (01:56:58):
So that's the game there and Wednesday I'm going to
the basketball game. My Arizona Wildcats gonna kick the crap
out of Yukon eighty six eighty three, not really kick
the crap out of we'll beat them by three, but.
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
I'll looking forward to that.
Speaker 5 (01:57:14):
And as we continue going undefeated, once we get by Yukon,
we should go undefeed.
Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
Until we get to the NCAA tournament. So there you
have my picks. Do with them as your police. No
longer strictly for entertainment purposes only undefeated. Huh oh, Yeah,
we're good. We're a good team this year.
Speaker 1 (01:57:31):
All right, So I mean, what what are you basing
this off of? Win over the commanders went over the bills?
Are you are you truly believing or no?
Speaker 2 (01:57:40):
No, I'm talking about I said, Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:57:42):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I thought you're still talking about Miami.
So your belief in Arizona football wise, I'm gonna go
back to that.
Speaker 5 (01:57:49):
Yes, yes, should be nine and one right now instead
of seven and three.
Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
Nine and one.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
Well, I don't want to play some boloney team either. Well,
you're gonna ballgame like I don't want to play s you.
Speaker 1 (01:58:01):
Smu is in a better conference. I don't want to.
Speaker 5 (01:58:03):
Play garbage teams like that. I want to I want
to play a real team.
Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
I want to play a team in the SEC or
something like that. Last time we played in the A
ball game, we beat the crab. Guys, well, I don't
know if you beat the crab, but you know we
beat the crab. Eric has a tweet before we wrap.
Speaker 1 (01:58:20):
Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
Get focused? Here we go, he writes, after week eleven.
I know this.
Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
My vikings are done. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:58:27):
I know that Jefferson will turn into a diva if
McCarthy doesn't pull his head out of his backside. I
know that they hitched their wagon to the wrong quarterback.
I thought he was the sixth best, first worst quarterback
last draft.
Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
Then go to Miami. What do you think you know?
You're still a JJ McCarthy believer?
Speaker 1 (01:58:48):
Right, all right?
Speaker 5 (01:58:49):
No, are you truther or no? I mean I've cooled
down on him. I still think he's going to be okay.
We we've not seen enough of him.
Speaker 2 (01:58:56):
He needs a little bit more time. Also, how much.
Speaker 1 (01:58:59):
Do you listen? I've done the show with you for
a while, right, And every single time I try to
say that, you tell me, oh, I know, because I
know on a first day, these eyes have seen they know.
You don't have to I don't have to overstudy to
understand when I see something that's good or bad? Right,
why are you giving McCarthy a pass.
Speaker 5 (01:59:19):
I'm gonna give them a little bit longer one, okay,
because there's nobody else like you could start replacing these
guys with grizzlies. As you mentioned, not a lot of
quarterbacks walking around out there.
Speaker 2 (01:59:28):
I mean, like my own replacement is like Murray Kyler
Murray and and.
Speaker 1 (01:59:33):
Guys like that. So who hasn't won a playoff game?
Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
Right, So there's not a lot of choice for me out.
Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
There, and you start looking at this twenty twenty five
draft or twenty twenty six now, sorry, Fernando Mendoza, to
see why. Yeah, it's okay, Tyler Sampson.
Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
I gotta take the ugly girl to the problem because
I'm running out of choices.
Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
I mean, that's no offense to the ugly girls out there.
Speaker 1 (01:59:53):
Well, I offense taken Leonora Sellers, Like, are these guys
that you look at in your twenty twenty six draft
and they're bet options for you than I don't know
trying to talk to Derek Carr out of retirement right now,
I don't know. I don't know. And then I thought
this was really really good, because it takes some time
for people to get in their mid season game. But
(02:00:14):
as our man, Warren asked, because what do the Chiefs
usually have on their side, Arnie? What helps the Chiefs
more than anything else during the season the referees, Warren asks,
are the Chiefs referees holding out? Could they be waiting
for more money? You're right, Warren, that might be the
situation we're in. Maybe the Chiefs have to make sure
(02:00:36):
that that deposit hits for the officials already.
Speaker 2 (02:00:38):
Have a great week, buddy, enjoy the friend.
Speaker 1 (02:00:41):
We'll be back next Sunday night. Big Van Mallor is
coming up next. Have a great week, everybody. This is
Fox Sports Radio.
