Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yeah, Bernie's out, Bernie.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
If I understood what Aaron Torres said, Bernie is traveling
the world, so shouts out to your usual maestro after midnight,
the man with the plan, the dude that understands spreads
over unders and hedging better than anybody. Bernie's out. My

(00:27):
name is Chris Plank. I got you for the next
four hours. Now, I'm just gonna warn you. I'm just
gonna warn you. I know that these are frowned upon
in the biz, but in two hours from now, I'm
gonna blow the cover off one of the greatest scams
in sports and fellas. I think we kind of know

(00:48):
this one, but I experienced it tonight and I don't.
I think we need to admit this. We need to
come to uh, well, you need to come to a
green on and realized we shall never talk about it
again because we're really getting one over on everybody in
our sports world that's coming up as well as a

(01:09):
guest dude. Ian, I'm gonna tell you something I've done
many overnights here on Fox Sports Radio. I think I
told you guys this. This used to be my show
way back in the day right after Ben Mallard. This
shows you how long ago this was when George Siddano
left Fox Sports Radio overnights to go to ESPN. I

(01:31):
think things are working out pretty well for George. Ben
Mallard slid into the weekday slot. He's been dominating every since.
And I was a weekend guy. So I love this show.
This is my favorite show on the network. There's more people,
probably more affiliates clearing this than any other show on

(01:54):
Fox Sports Radio, just because.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
There are not a lot of other options, and we're live.
I mean check.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
It is one o three am Central time. God's Standard
are God's time zone, the Central Standard time zone.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
But I love this.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I love this time slot, which is why when I
say this, Ian, I hope you understand how important this
was to me.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I don't know if I could be happier in my life.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Kids, born, second marriage, finding out I had a country
club membership.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
These are all great moments in my life.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Gents.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
But Ian, whenever I saw we had a guest in
our number three of this show, I'm not gonna lie
to you, I teared up a little bit.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Man.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
I don't know in the history of sitting in for
Bernie and for Ben and during the days back in Gosh,
what what are we going back?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Now?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Is that like two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight,
I've never had a guest on the Overnight show.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I'm so happy right now. I don't even know what
to do.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
It's tonight, your first one, first ever guessed in the
Overnight slot.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
It's a big honor for Mark Medina.

Speaker 7 (03:05):
Well.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I hope he understands. I hope he gets how big
this is.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I also think it's awesome that people are actually up
and ready to talk NBA at this Insiders now. I
probably should backtrack on that a bit. There's people up
because they're working on their stories. So there is a
lot of joy in my heart tonight, A lot of
joy because Ian Roddy hooked me up, hooked us up,

(03:32):
hooked the Royal. We up with a guest coming up
an hour number Oh, I guess that would actually be
our number two, right.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Mark medeenea NBA guru.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Coming up in an hour from now, and we'll ask
him if he thought Mark Dagnault made a mistake in
challenging the final three point shot by PJ.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Henderson. We'll get into it. I am.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
I think I've brought this up up a lot as
we welcome you into the Bernie Frattos Show here on
Fox Sports Radio, coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Tire rack dot com will help you.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Get there and unmatched a selection, fast, free shipping, free
road hazard protection in over ten thousand recommend it installers.
Tire rack dot Com the way tire buying should be. Now,
I mentioned Mark Medina coming up. The entire crew is here.
You're Kevin on updates, Mark's running the show, Ian's booked
a guest.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Now I'm so happy, right, It's so much joy.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
But a I've had a love hate relationship with the
thunder and let me go ahead and just get it
all out there.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I used to do it well, I still do. I
do a local show in Oklahoma.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I've done radio way too long, to the point where
I don't know if I can do anything else.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I'm really worried if this radio thing doesn't work.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Out, that I'm gonna end up being someone at Target
telling you which i'le the baby clothes are on. But
in my career, I've always loved talking about the NBA.
Loved it. It was and is one of my favorite
topics for a lot of reasons. Most of it because
how we knee jerk to every little thing that happens,

(05:16):
and nobody bends the knee to their stars more than
the NBA does. So it always cracks me up when
the response is why does he think he can act
like that?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Well, because you let him, That's why.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
But all of that said, I love talking about the NBA,
and for years, guys on my local show We're Going
Back in the early two thousands, I would talk this
is in Oklahoma, NBA, and all that I would get
was hate, hate, hate hate. Jeremy Poplin Blitz Tulsa, one
of my best friends. All we did when we talked

(05:49):
Spurs or Lakers or you know, there was that great
I don't really know if it was a great series
when Jamie Nelson and Kobe and the Magic play the Lakers.
I mean, these were things that I loved talking about
and we would get backlash. People would call the complane
and then all of a sudden, the same people who
were dogging these conversations become NBA experts when the thunder

(06:09):
come to town. So that was a really hard thing
for me. Instead of saying, hey, look, I'm an NBA fan.
I'm so glad you guys are into this welcome I
maybe it is because we're going back now eleven years
a little bit younger. I looked at and thought, you
son of you sat there and destroyed me for years

(06:31):
and what we were doing. And now all of a sudden,
you're trying to argue about bird rights and whether or
not you should add a four instead of a three.
I mean it, what But as I've grown, as I've aged,
I've learned from this. I have I'm not quite as
bitter about it. And then after what was probably in

(06:54):
the history of sports one of the old time greatest,
you know, kind of I don't know, brown nosing, cleat chasing,
whatever term you want to use, in the way that
Oklahoma City is. The fans and the media treated that
first inclination of the thunder with Harden, with Durant and
with Westbrook, and then the inevitable Durant leaving. I have

(07:18):
fallen in love with this new version of Okase. It's
almost like the girl of my dreams, whom I want
to want me suddenly is batting an eye at me
and texting me. It's just it's I love this team.
Shay Gilgess. Alexander is exciting to think he was a

(07:40):
throw in in the Clippers trade for Paul George.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
A throw in that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Jalen Williams, the guy that I don't think any of
you had on your draft board, is an emerging.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
An emerger.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
I don't want to say star, but he's an emerging talent.
Chat Holme clowned him right. Oh he's too skinny, his
sticks are gonna break. And of course what happens his
first year he gets hurt, thunder draft him. Second overall,
we all question it. It's like, ugh, I think he's
looked the party here in his first season, right, adding

(08:19):
some what I think you would still consider foundational pieces
in Lou Dort Josh Kiddy, despite the fact that he
was coming off the bench in this series. My point
is this is a really, really fun basketball team. But
I don't see this as a moment where you say,
don't worry, we'll be back. Don't that's what do we do?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Be pissed?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
They just lost as the one seed to a team
that they beat in the first game by twenty points.
What are we doing? I mean, there was never a
more dominant first game performance that I've seen that changed
one of my benchmark takes, like what Oklahoma City did

(09:05):
to Dallas in Game one of this series. They absolutely
positively annihilated them. I went on the AR I think
it was on a Sunday, and I do a Sunday
night show. That's where my normal gig is Little Double
Shift today, So I'll be on again tonight ten Peter
one A with Arnie Spaniel. And after Game one I

(09:27):
remember being that prisoner of the moment and saying, this
is over. We what are we even talking about? The
Western Conference Finals between Minnesota and okse Chapter one is
going to be legit. And then you absolutely let this

(09:47):
this Dallas Mavericks team, a team that's now been to
the Western Conference Finals or at least on its way
to a second second and three seasons. I mean, you
let them get life, and you lose a series in
which you might have had one of the more dominating
performances to kick things off.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
You're losing home games. I mean, I'm pissed, but.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
I also have to stop and pause for just a
moment and realize this appears to be ahead of schedule
for okasee. This appears to be a tick ahead of
where many thought they should be at this point. I mean,
I'm not going to sit here and make this thunder
talk all night long, but they do have first round

(10:32):
picks up through twenty thirty, fifteen of them. Let's say
that again. Hopefully I'll say it in an order that
makes a little bit more sense. Oklahoma City has fifteen
first round picks and twenty to one second round picks

(10:53):
over the next six drafts. It's like me playing Madden
at a majority of it in a franchise. In fact,
I think I got a team right now that has
thirteen first round picks. Yeah, I just it's it's it's crazy.
But despite all that and eyes towards the future, I

(11:14):
appreciate the great play of the hero of this tournament,
the referees. One a probably to Luca, one beat to
one beat a Doe that I mean, let's kind of
be honest. This this series might still be going on

(11:34):
if not for some dude named PJ. Washington, who I mean,
tip of the cap to the Dallas Mavericks front office
who owned the trade deadline right. Dallas won this series.
On February twenty fourth when PJ. Washington was acquired from Charlotte.
But you know, tip of the cap. I mean, all see,

(11:57):
we're on a great affiliate in Dallas. On the ticket,
I'm I'm kind of trolling. I'm still kind of but
hurt about it. To be honest with you, the way
this thing went down because I've allowed myself to get invested. Now,
I've allowed myself to get sucked in. I've allowed myself
to believe that the trains on the tracks and everybody
better get out of the way. But how are you

(12:18):
gonna feel that way after you just blew a series
that you should have had a.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Complete control of. It's frustrating.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Man.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Now back to the original point.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Did Mark Dagnault make a mistake whenever Oklahoma City challenged
the call of a foul in the corner on PJ.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Washington?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Here is what it sounded like on the Dallas Mavericks
Radio network, But terribly played game by Dallas until about
what the midway point of the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
About that point, like, hey guys.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Maybe we should get going here a little bit, and
the Thunder unfortunately did what they've done so far in
this series. They had defensive breakdowns. They even when they
had a face a hand in the face of Luca.
He was making plays and in this instance, with a
game on the line, Shay gil Just Alexander got a
little bit too much of the hand in the face.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Here comes Luca.

Speaker 8 (13:13):
He's trapped along the left side with ten now against
dort one on one, driving right, backing down at the
chair poll expense loss left, lost, the ball, got at
the Washington forces.

Speaker 9 (13:23):
On up, cut down, he got down. He got down
by Jilgess Alexander with two and a half seconds to god.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Oh what a terrible file there. Oh my goodness, put
on the.

Speaker 10 (13:34):
Lord of the foul occurred on the three point shot.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
It'll the challenge is unsuccessful.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Dallas three free pros.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
So before we get to shay Gil just Alexander's take,
to give the full disclosure for those of you that
don't eat, sleep, drink, live and die NBA rules. You
lose a challenge, you lose a time out. Okay, se
had one time out left. I think what ian like
two point six, two point eight? Is that what was left?

(14:03):
What would have been left in the game. Washington makes
his first two intentionally misses the third. I mean it's
Paul Game did the Now the problem is shake Gil
just Alexander probably didn't help his coach out too much
whenever he was asked about to play at the end

(14:26):
of the game, and what happened. And this is what
Shake Kilches Alexander said.

Speaker 11 (14:30):
We talk about it all your other little things that
go into winning games and being disciplined, and it sucks. Obviously,
if I had the moment back, I went to file
him and just let him make her miss shot. But yeah,
basketball and even something loose, some many made mistakes.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
By the way, the one kind of side note to
the missed shot, I mean Dallas got the rebound and
I think put it back in, so I mean it
would have even if they don't call a foul there.
I think it works out even worse for Oakla Hooma City.
But dag Nauld was asked about it, Oh.

Speaker 12 (15:03):
Should I don't have as good of a replay as
there was on TV. So you know, I just you know,
he got ball, you know, and then obviously got arm
as well. You know, I thought he might have gotten
the ball first, uh, And just in that situation, you know,
even without leaving myself the timeout, I thought any chance
that we could take points off the board and reverse

(15:25):
that call would be worth the risk.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
So that's why I went and got it.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. I'd kind of
love to hear your takes on the end of that game.
I just I'll tell you what, Lucas Luca is pretty infuriating.
I mean, I think Dallas Mavericks fans you know this.
I think most NBA fans know it, because there's moments

(15:54):
where he looks like he's dead and he's done and
he's never going to play basketball again, and the he
pops up and drains at three.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
And I'll tell you what, I kind of like the
approach the last few games.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I think Luca is more fun when he's not constantly
grinching at the officials. So eight seven seven nine nine
sixty six three six nine eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Also, as I mentioned, Mark Medina is coming
up to kick off our number two all right, when
we come back heartbreak aside for thunder fans, celebrations for

(16:31):
Dallas and it's support staff, I e the PJ.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Washington's of the world. I mean, I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
I kept completely lost track of Tim Hardaway Junior and
he's just out there draining threes. Outside of all that,
we do have a Game seven coming up later on today,
and I have a question of the night that we'll
get you because I've been watching every minute, every second
of the NBA's postseason. Of the three young superstars, who

(17:01):
would you want to build around? Who would you want
to build around? By three, I mean Anthony Edwards, Luka, Doncic,
and Shay Gil just Alexander. We'll talk about that coming
up after the bottom of the hour. I'm busy Saturday
night into a Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 13 (17:16):

Speaker 14 (17:44):

of industry in media, sports, and more every week, explore
some amazing facts.

Speaker 2 (17:51):

Speaker 14 (17:52):
Listen to the Fifth Hour with Ben Maller on the
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Do you guys realize we have a sporting event that's
still going on right now on the East Coast? Is
the is the Fox Sports Radio family? Do we have
a name for the Bernie Fratto fan base yet, Ian Roddy,
I mean, we have the Mallard militia, right, we don't,
but I feel like we need to get on that

(18:20):
Bernie's boys. I'm big about the letters having to be
the same. We are going to the top of the
eleventh inning in the college softball Regionals and in Tallahassee, Florida. Yes,
in the Eastern time zone, Auburn and UCF are tied
at one. It is two twenty six am. I ask

(18:46):
you up, I.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Guess the instance we've been chatting.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Is there a point where you think the umpires are
the administrators say hey, y'all, let's come back and finish
this thing tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Or do you just keep rolling?

Speaker 15 (19:05):
I mean, it's like two am there right?

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Isn't that right?

Speaker 6 (19:08):
So at that point you're that far in, I feel
like you have to finish. This is the latest UCF
game played in the East Coast.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Ever, I guess I would add to it, we just
wrapped up a game in Los Angeles where Grand Canyon
upset Virginia Tech.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
That game is over.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
The final game in day two of college Softball regional
play will now be one in the East Coast between
UCF and Auburn. And what's amazing about this is whoever
loses their season's over, like there's no we'll come back
and we'll get them tomorrow. You lose this game, then

(19:56):
you're done, so done. And I'm and I'm a softball fan.
I cover softball, I call softball. I love the sport.
But UCF has one of its most established and I
guess you could say incredible senior classes that they've ever had.
Auburn's coach is retiring at the end of the season.

(20:18):
A lot of a lot of drama, all right, Listen.
I asked to hear from some OKC fans at eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
nine six six three six nine. It's some MAVs fans.
Stephen is in Kansas City. Let's talk a little ok C.
He wants to dive into it next row on Fox
Sports Radio, Good morning, Steven, how are you man?

Speaker 16 (20:39):
What's Chris Plimeman the plank live in the Dream? Larry
King and Bob Costas for a night on six hundred Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
State appreciated Steven, what do you think?

Speaker 16 (20:50):
What do you mean you call a softball dynasty? You
know you're not just a softball donster. You're the ou.
You're here and here the man for the dynasty.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
I appreciate it that.

Speaker 17 (21:02):
Listen. Listen.

Speaker 18 (21:04):
I've been I've been a fancist.

Speaker 16 (21:06):
Nick Collinson. You know, I don't know how you can
get emotional when we've got fifteen first round drafts and
these guys are babies. I mean, we're real and the
impressed me. We trust man, We're going to be the
next San Antonio Spurs if we play our cards right.
I mean, it looked like a solid block from from

(21:26):
the from the announcing, you know, for the announcing angles,
and one of the refs said it was a block.
But I just don't have that kind of I just
don't have that kind of emotional reservoir. Maybe I'm getting
old or something, But how can you be that sad
about this? I just don't get it.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Look, can I can I explain it?

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Steven?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Let me give you my side of this.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I have been somebody my whole professional life that will
fight with people that knee jerik after one or two games,
I will. It's been something of people lose their minds
and it's part of business, right, and I allowed myself
to actually let that happen in this series. And I'm
not saying it's you're right. If everything plays out with

(22:09):
all this draft capital with their eyes on a couple
of stars to try to pair with SGA, I think
the future is really really bright, and it should be.
But I allowed myself to fall into a trap that
I shouldn't and don't allow myself to fall into, Stevens.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
So this might be more of a me thing.

Speaker 16 (22:26):
I totally sympathize with that. I can totally see it.
You know, we watched Thunder every night for eighty eighty nights,
you know, and listen, if lou Dort would stop poling,
we'd probably be in the NBA finals. I mean that's
just to be honest, Just to be real. I mean,
if we can figure out a way. I know, Lucas
tough to stop, and some of these guys are tough

(22:47):
to stop. We get a few pounds on home grin. Man,
the future is so incredibly bright. I mean, it's like
Kansas City and Okase here the center of the of
the sports world. It's ridiculous. The Royals are in first place. Man,
I know what's in the water in this area or something. Man,
but we are just absolutely tearing it up now that
I'll probably curse the chief full.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
No, I think you're good.

Speaker 16 (23:12):
The future's so bright, man, you gotta wear how's oo
you gonna do? Whether are they gonna roll through everybody?
Are they gonna roll through the roll through the field.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Well, this is good question, Steven. I appreciate the phone call.
Thanks for checking in, buddy, now, he said, he watches
all eighty Thunder games. It's my kind of guy. Yeah,
this is real quick, he asked to know you question.
I'll get you in a second. This is a I've
come to realize. During the break, I got a couple
of my buddies that apparently are up to and they're like,
this is a you problem. Here's one you're just bitter

(23:41):
about the Lakers. Another one of my guys. Quit trying
to curse us. I'm not trying to like use reverse psychology.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (23:49):
I just.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
I think sometimes when you're like, oh man, they tried
so hard, look at how hard they tried. They were
the number one seed and they dominate game one. So Stevens,
that's my defense on this. By the way, quick update.
Softball game still going on top of the eleventh, tie
to one and okay in Oklahoma, gonna be fun one tomorrow.
I hope they can get by Jeff Schwartz Oregon Ducks

(24:15):
one today. Potential super regional matchup with Florida State. Listen,
I'm not going to try to cram softball talk down
your throat, but I will say, if you get a
chance to watch it, I think you'll enjoy it. With
that said, I've got a little chum I want to
throw in the water when we come back. But first,
let's get caught up on everything from the tyrack dot
com studios. It's tide to find out what's trending. Kevin

(24:35):
Wired is in the house tonight. What's going on? I
gny the college softball world series. One of my favorite
events of the calendar, the sports calendar, and it's reasons
like this, where you've just got two teams not giving up,
going into the two o'clock in the morning hour and
you see f Auburn tied at one. They are on
the top of the eleventh with one out, a runner
on first for the Tigers. Actually there's now two out

(24:57):
as there is a strikeout, so two down now top
of the eleventh, throw the runner at first as one
of these teams trying to at least turn out the
lights and get some sleep before they have to play
their next game. Big story of the night in the
NBA the Dallas Mavericks moving on to the Western Conference Finals.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
So throwing up a three quarter.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Card that it's over.

Speaker 9 (25:20):
It is over, and the Dallas Mavericks for the second
time in three years, have moved on to the Western
Conference Finals with a spectacular comeback tonight to the feet
the Oklahoma City Thunder one seventeen to one to sixty.

Speaker 6 (25:37):
Mavericks Radio Network with the call Dallas erasing a sixteen
point halftime deficit two advance to the Western Conference Finals
in a game six, eliminating Oklahoma City. LUKA Doncic a
triple double, the third straight playoff game in which he
has recorded one. He's just the fifth player in NBA
history to accomplish that. Feat Shay Gilgess Alexander in the

(25:58):
Lost and Outstanding Game. I'm gonna the Night of Oklahoma City,
Sergil just Alexander, because man, he did everything he could
in the lost thirty six points off fourteen to twenty
five shooting, including four to five from beyond the three
point line, three rebounds, eight assists in zero turnovers. A
couple of Game sevens coming up on a Sunday, as

(26:20):
it'll be Denver hosting Minnesota. Walso will have the New
York Knicks hosting the Indiana Pacers in the WNBA. It's
the New York Liberty beating the Indiana Fever ninety one
to eighty as rookie Caitlin Clark twenty two points, eight assists,
but also eight turnovers. So that's eighteen turnovers in her
first two games. As she adjusts to the professional ranks

(26:41):
of those CCC Sabrina with that three pointer as she
faked out Caitlyn Clark. There, man, those two gonadd a
great game. Earlier today, Las Vegas defeating the LA Sparks
eighty nine to eighty two. NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs the
Edmonton Oilers forcing a Game seven, they beat the Canucks
five to one. It'll be Monday night in a Vancouver.

(27:04):
In the PGA Championship, Xander Chouflea and Colin Morikawa tied
for the one stroke lead at the PGA Championship. Shane
Lowry two shots back after a record tying sixty two
round today, and top rank offer Scottie Scheffler shot a
third round seventy three. He has eight shots behind. It's
the first time he's shot over par since August twenty

(27:25):
six of twenty twenty three. It snaps his record streak
of forty one straight rounds of at least making parr
the preak mistakes. The second race of the Triple Crown
sees a Gray taking the Muddy Track in Baltimore today,
leading the race wire to wire, Misstic Dan finishing second,
so there will be no Triple Crown winner today.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Back to you, all right, thanks Kevin. It's kind of funny.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
I'm I'm a big softball guy, and there is a
live game going on right now out on the East Coast.
It is you just heard Kevin mention it. It's one
one in the bottom of the eleventh inning. There is
the reair of a game from earlier today that is
currently being shown on ESPN U. That's already in the

(28:15):
top of the sixth inning. They only played seven in softball.
I think the reair game might end before the actual
UCF Auburn game.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
This is crazy.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
You know, Steve the Seger, whom you hear a lot
here on Fox Sports Radio. I don't know why I'm
getting all nostalgic, but Steve, Steve and I we did
that weekend overnight show together, and there was a college
baseball game on one night, guys that just never ended.
I mean we sat here, I want to say, almost

(28:46):
until one am Pacific time, and that's three am. I
want to say. It was a Central time Zone game
and it was just it was like seventeen innings. I
think I don't even know if it was on TV.
I think we're watching some stream somewhere. It was crazy.
I feel like that's what we're experiencing here tonight. Pretty

(29:08):
fun eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine ninety six six three sixty nine. You can
always get with the show on VX. I'm at Plank Show.
Everybody should go follow us at Fox Sports Radio. Now,
I do want to get I do want to get
some more calls in here at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox. So Poppy Holler and James hanging there

(29:29):
in just a bit, hang in there. I'll get to
you in our next segment. But I have a question
and I want to go around the horn on this.
I threw it up on my Twitter feed at Plank Show.
But I also think I would probably get a pretty
one sided vote on this because, hey, listen, I'm in
Oklahoma and an Oklahoma City guy is here, so Ian,

(29:54):
I don't know if Kevin had to run and take
care of other responsibilities. Mark, if you want to jump in,
here's my question. You can build around one. Shay Gil
just Alexander Luka Nacic or Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 5 (30:07):
Now.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
I thought about putting I thought about putting the joker
on here, but then I was like, oh, he's not
really a young gun anymore. He's an established three time MVP.
That'd be too easy. That'd be too easy, right, But
I guarantee you on my Twitter feed with my followers
Shay Gil just Alexander would still win. I'll take Shay

(30:29):
over Jokicic. Hey looks like my grandpa playing at the
Why I want a baller? Which way would you go
in this vote?

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Right now? Ian, you're first up, Shay, Luca or Aunt.
I'd go Aunt.

Speaker 15 (30:43):
And that might be that might be recency biased, just
because like these have been his playoffs so far. But
I hate keep putting that Jordan comparison on him, and
he even hates it. But it's just so hard to
watch him and not see that.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 15 (31:01):
I just like the the between the ears aspect too.
He says all the right things that the podium sticks
up for his guys. I love Anthony Edwards. It's not
that I don't think the other two guys are great too,
It's just I really think Aunt is something special.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Do you know what I would add on Anthony Edwards?

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I don't think you were alluding to this that personality,
yeah right, I mean again, we haven't seen him have
to deal with a ton of adversity, right. The first
couple of years kind of sucked for him with the
with the Timberwolves, they weren't necessarily a great team, but
he's he's got that kind.

Speaker 6 (31:36):
Of it to him, right, Yeah, and it's just funny too. Yeah,
He's funny, just effortlessly.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
You you venture a take on this one, Kevin, the three,
which one you would want to build around Luca, Shay, Gilgess,
Alexander or Ant Edwards.

Speaker 6 (31:49):
I'm going with the Ant man just because I've really
seen how he's that fiery spirit, that MJ. Kobe like competitiveness,
that he really has that killer instincts. So I think
if he can have the right team around him, and
he's got a good squad around him right now, but Denver.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Of course giving him all they can handle.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
But Anthony Edwards, even if they come up short, has
shown me, at least in this playoff series that he's
got what it takes to really will a team to victory.
And he's really had a big coming out party this
year in my opinion, So I would personally take Anthony
Edwards shake Guil just Alexander, though with his defense, it's
not just his offensive numbers, but the way he's played

(32:27):
defense this year makes him a close second in my
opinion Luca and the defense not really the name of
his game. So I'm a big defensive guy. So I
guess I would go ant Man, Shake Gil, just Alexander,
Luca Dantich in that order.

Speaker 18 (32:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
And it's funny because.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
All of us are going with a dude that hasn't
advanced out of the first round or two guys that
have only advanced out of the first round of the
playoffs in their career, and we're all kind of turning
our back on a guy that that's taking a team
to its second Western Conference finals in three years. Do
you know Luca and Shake gilges Alexander won the same draft.

(33:08):
They were drafted the same year. Mark, you gotta take
or you care about this one.

Speaker 19 (33:12):
I'm gonna go with giving more help to Luca because
based on what everybody's saying, Luca is all offense all
the time, so maybe he needs some help when it
comes to another better defender and somebody that can score
at the same time.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Okay, there is If you guys want to jump in
on the phone, you can eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six three
six ' nine, or I've got the pull up on Twitter.
And again, I tend to I tend to lean Quite Oklahoma,
Oklahoma City. So in the very early stages of this

(33:47):
poll were not quite to one hundred votes yet. In fact,
I'm forty eight right now, so it's only been up
for like ten minutes. Seventy three percent of the vote
so far for USGA, So maybe not the best gauge.
But I wouldn't sleep on what Shay gild just Alexander
did in this series for Oklahoma City and what it

(34:10):
looks like he's doing for them in the free agent market.
We'll talk about that. We'll get your calls coming up,
Chris Playing and for Bernie Frattle. We'll come to you
live from the ti rack dot com studios. Tire rack
dot Com will help you get there. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 20 (34:29):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
I don't think we're gonna be able to use my
poll for this conversation. It's just probably should have known
this when I put it up, but it is very
one sided towards Shae Gilges Alexander. I don't know why
I'm not smart enough to realize that's what would happen here.
We got a game still in progress in college softball.

(34:55):
They are in the top of the twelfth inning. It
is approaching three am Eastern Standard time, and UCF and
Auburn are tied up in one unbelievable top of the
twelfth inning. We'll see if either team can push a
run across in the meantime. Coming up next hour, we're

(35:17):
gonna recap the end of the Thunder Mavericks series the
end of the game with Mark Medena. I got a
quick recap of the MAVs run late in this season
and a look ahead to the Thunder post season. Guys
got a lot of NFL on the show. We got
some massive quarterback questions coming up. I'm gonna I told

(35:37):
you off the top of the show, I'm gonna let
our secret out coming up an hour number three, and
last night Ian and I talked about really nerding out
on the NFL schedule and talking about a potential mystery
candidate for the Lakers. Well of that coming up in
the final hour. As always though, I mean, it's come on,
It's two in the morning in the Central time zone.

(35:58):
Let's get your calls, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (36:02):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Why not?

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Poppy? Poppy, are you out in San Diego? Good morning,
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. Hey, how's it going great? Man,
how are you good?

Speaker 20 (36:13):
Good? Hey?

Speaker 18 (36:13):
Remember when I was on the Ben Manor Show, did
you bet at stop Foster? Did you go to and
no on the Celtics from our first half and the
whole game?

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I was just curious, dude, listen, I did. I've done
two overnight shows in the last two nights. I did
one last week.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Trying to remember anything from yesterday is hard enough for me, Poppy,
but I'll just say I did.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
How's that?

Speaker 18 (36:34):
Oh okay, good job on you, because it would have
done blink blink. So uh, you know, I can't wait
for your next hour. You know my Dina magic NBA Google.

Speaker 16 (36:43):
So I want to talk NBA. I love NBA.

Speaker 18 (36:45):
I'm an expert on NBA. On Scott Foster, that's my
favorite rest And I did, yeah, I did tell you
to take the Celtics. But look, this is what I'm
seeing right now for the game Indiana Pacers and the
next well, the next haven't been us good since the nineties.
You know, the nickel Bockers, you know where Patrick Ewley
and John Starks as you were saying, and who does

(37:05):
the NBA Adam Silver with that met who does he
want to go to the finals? The New York Next.
What the next against the Celtics. Better matchup than Indiana Pacers.
Boston Celtics not sexy. So we know that's a better matchup, right,
So we won't all tell six am, as I told you,
Scott Foster won't be announced. He's going to be in

(37:26):
the next and when he does, we're gonna go on
the money line on the point spread the first half
the whole game, and we're gonna make that bling bling.
And then my other conspiracy theory, if he's not there,
then where is he going to be the Denver Nuggets.
Why Because Adam Silver Watson VerTech Jokavi is the MVP
who got to make him look good. He can't go
out the first round. But I don't want that because

(37:47):
I said in the Bernie Battle Show, I want the
Minnesota Timberwolves to go to the NBA Finals. Oh oh,
So that's why I want Scott Foster to go the
New York Next. And my other conspiracy theory is what
our Kuber's last season with the owner of the Mavericks.
Why not have the Delek Mavericks go to the NBA
Finals and Renolds potentially winning the NBA Finals last season

(38:09):
as the owner.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
What are you thinking?

Speaker 3 (38:11):
All right, So you've laid out quite a few different
conspiracy theories for me. Thanks for the Thanks for the call, Poppy, Poppy,
Pappy twenty two, twenty one, whatever it takes. I don't
know if anyone outside of the perception of the Knicks
and New York and Madison Square Garden would be a

(38:32):
major ratings grab or as you laid out, maybe a
justification for an MVP, which, by the way, I mean listen,
they won, they won the title, They went back to
back MVPs.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
I think back to back to back. Think we're gonna
be okay.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
I think we're gonna be okay with having to worry
about doing anything to justify Yokich. But if you're asking
me if I I've got the script and I'm trying
to get the fix in what is the ultimate NBA
final for viewership, I'm probably going Dallas, New York right,

(39:14):
no offense to Denver in the market, but we kind
of saw what that did ratings wise last year. So
if you're trying to fix it, Poppy, if I'm understanding
what you're laying out to get the best possible matchup,
I think you want Dallas versus New York maybe, And
again I only say New York because they haven't been

(39:35):
there in a while long hun and they're not going
litt in Boston's gonna sweep them, But it is It
would be my opinion that they would want the Knicks
there in some way, shape or form. And I don't
Minnesota is a I think sometimes I'm guilty of this,
so I say we I'm me, I'm guilty of this.

(39:57):
I don't realize the size of the men Aneapolis St.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Paul market. I think sometimes like, uh, smaller, smaller market.
It's really not.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
And you suddenly get a star in Minnesota, like Anthony
Edwards and it's a well run organization and you've got
I mean, I think Karl Anthony Towns is a star too.
That might be something worth building you I'm building upon.
And you know Ann Edwards getting those MJ comparisons, you
got to love that as a commissioner. But I just

(40:27):
think that you're probably looking at still for all the eyeballs,
for all the storylines, probably Dallas and New York, because
you do know that Ann Edwards, the theory that he's
really Michael Jordan's kid. Oh, my gosh, that would go
to a level of absurdity once we got to the
Tea Wolves in the NBA finals. All right, Mark Meneen

(40:49):
is going to join us coming up next, and for Bernie,
I'm playing on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
By the way, it is a final in Tallahassee at
three am local time. Auburn beats UCF to advance into
the season for the nights, and they've got to turn
around and play tomorrow at three o'clock for Eastern.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Fun night.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
All right, let's talk some NBA as we come to
you live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tire
rack dot com will help you get there an unmatched
to selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti rack dot com the
way tire buying should be. We say what's up, good morning,
and how's it going to Mark Medina, though I guess

(41:36):
instead of good morning, Mark, it'd probably be good evening
out on the West coast right now, how's it going, man?

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Thanks for coming on with us.

Speaker 20 (41:43):
Still it's doing well. I guess it technically is good
morning because now it to Sunday, but yeah, I'll take
us the evening either or.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
All right, help me out here. Should uh?

Speaker 3 (41:54):
Should people be mad at the NBA Coach of the
Year for challenging that last shot by PJ.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Washington in the foul?

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Uh?

Speaker 20 (42:04):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
I think shake gilgis Alexander. Maybe he didn't do him
any favors by saying, yeah, you know, I shouldn't have
fouled him. But I think in that instance, even though Dallas,
let's say they don't call a foul, Kyrie snuckin, got
the rebound and put it in for a bucket that
would have given him the lead. But even in that uh,
I mean, I like a coach that's not afraid to

(42:28):
challenge something like that, even if it does cost you
your last time out.

Speaker 20 (42:32):
Yeah. I mean, it's always a tricky thing with these
challenges because they only have so many, and there's been
you know, ever since they implemented this rule to really
test their relationship capital with star players. Like at first,
players wanted to trust their players when they say to
call it, but then you know, they start getting skeptical
on how good their batting percentages with it. So it's

(42:55):
led to a lot of mixed feelings on what the
best course of action.

Speaker 16 (43:01):
Overall?

Speaker 2 (43:02):
What'd you make of the of the run so far
for the Mavericks?

Speaker 3 (43:05):
So I think on at least one instance I had
him dead that was Game one against Oklahomas. But they
still keep finding away. Man, They've got an impressive roster
in PJ. Washington stepped up big time.

Speaker 20 (43:16):
Yeah, when I make of the Dallas Mavericks, they're completely
different identity than last season, and I think that these
are two developments. Kyrie Irving is having a lot better chemistry,
and I think when he even dated the last season,
there was never any sense of their personality conflicts with
Luka Doncic or you know, how they figure out each
other's roles. They just didn't have much time together. I

(43:37):
think a second piece. They actually have a supporting cast.
You mentioned PJ. Washington, Derek Wivey, the seconds and the
great guy, and I think those are really the two
call forts. You have PJ who can defend one through five,
great outside shooter, Derek Wively, great rebounder, great diver to
the rim, and they're you know, they know the role
and they excel at as complimentary players. So I think

(43:59):
it's that you know, yes, Luca Doctors has had troubled
double performances in the second round matchup, but A he
was hurt and B he wasn't always efficient, But that
didn't matter because you know, they actually have a team
around him and they need it because they Olkahoma City Thunder.
They're a young team that's just getting started.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
Hey, Mark, just one final thought on the Mavericks before
we move on to Game seven. I still find it
pretty wild how quiet. I don't mean scoring wise, I
don't mean anything he's done on the court, but just
how it's It's been such a good season for Kyrie
Irving and we haven't really had to worry about any
the world is flat stowing up at.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Random city council meetings.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
I mean, has he accepted the role and do you
think he seems comfortable in it right now of just
being Luca's right hand guy?

Speaker 20 (44:51):
Yeah, I mean, look, I think even dating back to
his time in Brooklyn, I don't think there was ever
this feeling that he wasn't accepting his role. And he
was on the court, it's really good. The problem is
we just didn't know when he'd be on the court
because of just a lot of unprecedented examples that you
would never guess in a BINGO card for reasons why

(45:11):
he's not available. One, you know, not getting the vaccine
with an organization that plays in the city that requires it,
be promoting an antisemitic film that the NBA found wasn't
good to do for obvious reasons, so they suspended him.
And then I think I guess the third part that
is more conventional is he is healthier than he has

(45:33):
been recent seasons. But I think that dating back to
his abrupt time out of Cleveland when he wanted to
be traded, there always seemed to be something attached to
him that made his presence not worth it, even though
he's just such a brilliant basketball player and so far,

(45:53):
you know, from day one, the Mavericks have really been
singing his praises. Obviously not just with his skill, but
just how he is in the locker room and how
he is as a leader. I don't think this absolves
him from some of those other previous incidents. It all
warranted criticism, but I think in fairness, when he's been

(46:13):
with Dallas, it's all been about basketball. When it's all
about basketball, Kyrie, it's usually pretty good before.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
We talk Game seven, I'm Sam Presty. I call Mark Medina.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
What advice he gives me?

Speaker 20 (46:27):
He's not doing that, but let's go ahead.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Yeah, I know Sam's really works in secrecy. But let's
say things change. What advice would you give OKC to
take that next step? We know the first round picks.
You can't possibly keep that many first round picks on
your roster. Do you see them get aggressive and trying
to get another star? What advice would you give Sam Presty?

Speaker 20 (46:50):
Yeah, well, I think the advice that he would would
get for me but doesn't need is probably what he
already thinks, is that it's just about main painting continuity
because you look at what's driven some of these other
teams from being able to be successful, and most notably
with Denver, they've been maintaining continuity. Now that doesn't mean

(47:11):
there's no changes. Ironically enough, because of where you're mentioning
about the assets, the Thunder are in the buyer's position
this offseason, they could go big game hunting, but I
think at the same time they want to protect their core.
They also want to protect the fact that it's not imminit.
But I think for two years from now and three

(47:34):
years from now, some of their main guys are going
to start being eligible for extensions, and that's when they
have the opportunity to avoid the James Harten mistake from
a decade ago when they let them go to Houston.
Because they're trying to be prouted with their salary cap
and the tax implications, so with that, they can certainly splurge,
but I think they'll be judicious knowing that they have

(47:57):
to be cap savvy in a few seasons from now.
I think the other reason why they'll be judicious is
that they want to continue to improve the roster but
still maintain that continuity so they can improve from within,
because you know, this team is young, and again, I
think they're just getting started.

Speaker 3 (48:18):
Mark, let's shift to some Game seven's today. Everyone's favorite
word in the English language a Game seven, and maybe
even better, a Game seven in Madison Square Garden. I
really love what Josh hart has become to this team
and for this team. How concerned are you though, that
he's going to be ready to go tonight?

Speaker 20 (48:36):
Yeah, I'm really concerned. I mean, that abdominal injury did
not look fun. He looked like he was in pain,
but I think, you know, the broader part is just
how broken down are the next going to be in
Game seven because you know Og I don't know he's
trying to make it a go, but he's been out
since Game two with a straying hamstring. We already know

(48:58):
there's not going to be a Julius Ran There's not
gonna be Mitchell Robinson, there's gonna be there's not gonna
be bot Ondanovich. Thankfully, for the Knicks, they'll have Jalen Brunson,
but we don't know what version Jalen Brunson that they'll get.
We know he'll be competitive, we know that he'll do
everything he can to rectify his poor shooting performance in
Game six, but he's been dealing with his own injuries.

(49:22):
All that being said, I do give the edge of
the Knicks. I think home poor advantage is real, especially
in the Garden. I think that their resiliency is real.
I think the fact that they have a lot of
role players that have shown that resiliency, most embody under
Tom Tibudo is real. And I think that when you
look at the ups and downs of this series, I
think the Knicks have been rebounding from the fact that

(49:44):
they're not a complete team day in and day out,
and the Pacers have been rebound from from the fact
that the previous game they haven't really played up to
a really high level of effort. And so I think
with that it's going to be a theatrical game seven
at the Garden with the next probably the most theatrical
syntheta World of Three moment in the seventies.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
Do you, in in Mark's opinion, do you consider Haliburton
to be a star? Is Tyrese Haliburton a guy that
you think the Pacers should and could build around.

Speaker 20 (50:17):
I think, of course there's no question with that. Now
does that mean he can get better? Yes, of course,
you know there there's another level of stardom that he
can get to. And I think, you know, the one
level here is that you can't have long periods of
you know, a slump. I mean, it's inevitable, even stars

(50:38):
go through that, but it has to last only you know,
one or two games or three games and nothing more.
And the playoffs, it's got to be raising your game
to a high level, even when you account for the
fact that you're going to get a double team. You're
the marked man and you know, even if you have
games that shots start falling, you have to have a
fallback plan. And in fairness to Tyree's he usually had

(51:00):
that this season, but it just hasn't been able to
be replicated consistently during the playoffs. But no, he has
a great formula. He's a really fast playmaker, he can
drive to the basket. The biggest The bigger thing is
he makes his teammates around him better and he's very humble.
And I think that that's a great combination. They'd want

(51:21):
your star, and you know, certainly someone of the Pacers
want to build around because he's such a great talent
and teammates that he has love playing with him. I'm
sure he'll be a good selling point for prospective free
agents and future seasons as well.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Out of Game seven, I can't figure this series out.
I still think that's a misprint. There is no way
in Minnesota be Denver by forty. But good luck trying
to figure this one out. Mark which way you leaning
right now? In the Nuggets Wolves?

Speaker 20 (51:52):
Yeah, it's really hard. But if I had to pick,
I guess the Nuggets only because they have home court
and there to defending champs. But I'm not really picking
with confidence because Minnesota's will player really well, Mike Conley's back,
and you know, the Nuggets have some injury questions about

(52:13):
Jamal Murray. He said he was fine after practice, but
you just never know. That right elbow injury clearly affected
him in Game six, And well, I do suspect he'll
play till he won't let that be inhibiting his aggressiveness.
You do wonder from a tactical standpoint, if that'll hurt
his efficiency or not. So, yeah, I don't know which

(52:35):
team to pick here. So if anyone is making a
terrible wager on that, don't blame me.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
Yeah, I'd be careful about that. All right, two silly
season things and I'll let you get out of here.
Last night, we spent a lot of time talking about
the Lakers coaching surge in the reality of you know,
is this going to be JJ Reddick? Are they trying
to build a superstaff around him? Mark, I know you've
been covering this closely. You get an idea of the timeline.
Is is this JJ Reddick job to lose right now?

Speaker 20 (53:02):
Well, it all depends on what people are telling you.
What you know there's a sense from outside of the
Lakers that they feel it is JJ Reddick's job to lose.
He's the favorite candidate and that they're going to try
to have veteran assistants around him. But you know, the
Lakers and fairness to how they're thinking, they're starting to

(53:23):
do the interview process this week after being in the combine,
and they want to be very deliberative. But no doubt
whether they go with JJ Reddick or they go with
a veteran assistant coach or anyone else. I've been told
it's certainly a priority that they have a really quality
coaching staff that has, you know, kind of a mix

(53:46):
of experienced coaches as well as a mix of people
that could be good player development. And you know, I
think philosophically, they also want that candidate. It might sound
like corporate bumbo jumble, like they want the candidate to
be perfect, but they know that the candidate is imperfect.
But they want someone who's good with managing the game,

(54:06):
can make adjustments as a firm command of knowing how
to you know, have respect for both Lebron James, Andy
Davis and the role players. And that's hard, you know,
easier said than done, especially if you're inexperience. But I
think it's more about you know, embracing whatever strengths you
have and then you know, owning up your shortcomings by

(54:27):
leaning on your staff and just continuing to make up
for that with a really good work ethic.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
And then the other big name that I keep hearing
about is Donovan Mitchell and the Calves. But I just
it seems kind of wild to think that they would
tap out after what two seasons. And listen, I know
they might look and say, all right, we're not going
to catch Boston. We got a lot of work to do.
But it just seems rather quick to say, yeah, this
isn't going to work for Donovan Mitchell in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
But also we got his clock is ticking too, right.

Speaker 20 (54:57):
Yeah, I mean he's eligible for an extension this summer,
And I mean this is just the way the modern
NBA works that if he declines it, that you know,
might basically give a clear signal of how he feels
about the team. Technically, a Cats don't have to do anything.
You have one of your left on his contract. But
you know, if someone's eligible for an extension, that's you know,

(55:17):
a star player and they say, no, you do start
second guessing. Okay, it's right on the wall, and shall
we start getting something in return instead of laying him
leave next summer for nothing. So that's really where the
financial point of contention is. But I'm with you, you know,
not that anyone's blameless, but a lot of things that

(55:40):
could explain why the Cleveland Cavaliers lost the second round
have to do with two things. One, the Boston Celtics
are a lot better than them, and two, they weren't
consistently healthy all season and Donovan Mitchell missed a few
games of that series alone. So yeah, there might be
some issues with maybe Bickerstaffs coaching, but he has had success.

(56:02):
There might be some issues about, Okay, how did Devin Domovon,
Mitchell and Darius Garland figure out chemistry? Same thing with
Jared Allen and have a mobile. But you know, one
thing that really helps does all those chemistry issues if
there's actually a lot more games that they have together
to figure it out. But you know, as you know,
there's the NBA and there's not really a lot of
patience with these things.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
Mark, I'm so grateful you still found time for us,
even with Bernie Out. I appreciate your insight in your
analysis and look forward to hearing your recap everything.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
And I'm following it on Twitter.

Speaker 20 (56:33):
Bud, appreciate your man, have a good one you too at.

Speaker 2 (56:36):
Mark g Underscore Medina. It is magic. It is magic
Ian emotional right now. Oh, think about I.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
Don't know what the number would be, Maybe maybe a
couple hundred overnight shows that I've done well, probably a
little bit more than that here on Fox Sports Radio.
And to finally finally get a guest, well, this is exciting. Hey,
the softball game wrapped up. I could probably get a
guest from there too. You really want to see me
get teary eyed?

Speaker 2 (57:06):
How mad? How mad would the beeps be?

Speaker 7 (57:10):
And me?

Speaker 2 (57:10):
If I bring on a softball guest.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
Here's my buddy, Eric Glopez. He was at that UCF game.
I've got some wild numbers from that when we come back. Plus,
I want to get into the Bronni James conversation.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (57:23):
I'm not here to debate whether or not he's NBA
worthy or NBA ready or anything like that. Just it's
kind of fascinating the different messages we're getting from both
Bronni and even from what Lebron appears to want. We'll
dive into it coming up next on a day with
two game sevens, we'll have you covered on a Fox
Sports Sunday. All right, it's the Bernie Frado Show, and

(57:46):
for Bernie, I'm Chris Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio.
As we come to you live from the ti rack
dot com studios. Tyrack dot com will help you get
there and unmatched a selection fast, free shipping, free road
hazard protection at over ten thousand been recommended.

Speaker 2 (58:01):
Installers tyrack dot com the way tie buying should be.
I hit that again. I was so excited.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
Man.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
We had a guest at Mark g Underscore Medina, Mark
Funky Cold Medina joining us here on a Fox Sports Sunday.
Make sure you give him a follow on Twitter. Mavericks.
Moving on, they eliminated the thunder. There is some debate
about whether or not Mark dagnallt, the Oklahoma City head coach,
should have challenged the final foul call, and he was

(58:30):
asked about it after the game.

Speaker 4 (58:32):
Oh, just would you make a rule at the end.

Speaker 12 (58:34):
I don't have as good of a replay as there
was on TV, so you know, I just you know,
he got ball, you know, and then obviously.

Speaker 7 (58:41):
Got arm as well.

Speaker 12 (58:42):
You know, I thought he might have gotten the ball first,
and just in that situation, you know, even without leaving
myself a time out, I thought any chance that we
could take points off the board and reverse that call
would be worth the risk.

Speaker 4 (58:57):
So that's why I went and got it.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
By the way, I.

Speaker 3 (59:01):
I gotta give Jason Kidds some credit here too. I know, shocking,
right for a guy that Bodian and I are shocked.
We forgot about the Jason Kidd era as the head
coach of the Milwaukee Bucks when trying to talk a
little bit about the potential of Adrian Griffin being in
any coaching mixes again. But Jason Kidd when he made

(59:24):
the call to have PJ. Washington intentionally missed the free
throws automatically, I thought, yeah, that's a terrible idea, because
I think you see more guys either make a free
throw when they're intentionally trying to miss it, or you
remember you got hit rim. I've seen more guys just
break it off the backboard and then you get you

(59:46):
can't move it up to half court obviously, but then
you get a free inbound. But Jason Kidd afterwards talked
about the decision to go ahead and have PJ. Washington
missed that third free throw after he'd made the first two.

Speaker 21 (59:58):
The biggest play. It won't go as the biggest play,
but the mister free throw in the proper way without
you know, sometimes we say mister free throw and we'll
just hit the backboard and they get the setup. We
didn't want them to set up. They had no timeouts,
and so we've learned, you know, not to run away
from the ball, but to press the ball to make
the ball go back. And because we've lost the game

(01:00:21):
that way, so a lot of things that we've learned
along the way. We were able to execute their late game.

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Jason Kidd still grown as a coach. Things you love
to see if you're a Mavericks fan. Now we wait
to see who the opponent will be. Timberwolves and Nuggets
coming up. Their game seven is in primetime tonight at
eight o'clock Eastern time, three point thirty Eastern for the
Pacers and Nick's coming up this afternoon. Next hour, We're
going to dive into some news and nuggets on the game.
Hey get it Nuggets, some news and bullet points getting

(01:00:51):
into those Game sevens. Things to watch for coming up
a little bit later on today before Kevin Wyre jumps
in here for the update. I want to pay off
a team. I feel like we've spent way too much
time talking about Brownie James. But then I also feel
like that it's a fascinating story going into the NBA draft,

(01:01:11):
going into an NBA draft that let's face it, there
is no Victor wimbin Yama in this draft, or at
least it doesn't appear as if there's a Victor wimbin.

Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Yama in this draft right.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
There is a lot of unknown The Hawks have the
number one pick overall for the first time in franchise history,
and I don't mean, is it gonna be one of
the French big men Alexander Saar? Is it gonna be Risache?
I don't know, But that kind of tells you all
you need to know about the excitement level of this draft.

(01:01:43):
There's just not much. So when you have one of
the greatest players of all time and his son who
is made himself eligible for this draft, who still has
the opportunity to go back to college, but it seems
like he's staying in the draft. When you have that,
when you have a guy like Bronnie whose skill set
has been so debated, I think it becomes a relevant storyline.

(01:02:06):
And with Lebron James making it known that hey, he
wants to play for his son, sorry, play on the
same team as his son, well, that adds another wrinkle
to this.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
So this week on the I never I'm a terrible
podcast consumer a sports podcast.

Speaker 3 (01:02:27):
I'll just be honest with you. I probably don't listen
to y'all's podcasts, but I'll listen to all your little
social media clips that you'll throw out. So I apologize.
Kay Adams Up and Adams Show. She had Shams on
as a guest, and she asked him, Hey, is there
a chance that a team could draft Bronnie James ahead

(01:02:51):
of the Lakers, who, again, Los Angeles just does not
have a first round pick, right, So is there a
possibility that you could be looking at maybe a team
like I'm just I'm looking here on the draft me
like Miami, maybe like Orlando that could draft Bronnie James

(01:03:13):
in the hopes that they could change Lebron's James Lebron
James mind about the player option, I think I set
that out if I didn't do a good job, I
think Key Adams picks me up.

Speaker 17 (01:03:25):
Right here, like, is there a world that somebody could
pick A team could pick Bronni.

Speaker 22 (01:03:29):
Just to lure Lebron.

Speaker 23 (01:03:32):
Well, that's the thought, and it would not surprise me
in the coming weeks if a team does reach out
to Rich Paul or anyone else around.

Speaker 22 (01:03:40):
Bronney James or anyone else has any idea or Lebron.

Speaker 23 (01:03:43):
James and himself and says, hey, if we draft Bronnie James,
would you come as well, Lebron?

Speaker 22 (01:03:49):
And the answer to that is going to.

Speaker 23 (01:03:50):
Be no, as of right now, that that's not a given,
that's not something that is going to be preordained. Not Listen,
if the Lakers go out there and draft Bronnie James,
they feel like he's going to be a good fit
for them. And one thing, the Lakers are in the
midst of a coaching search, and one important element of
that search is going to be player development and hiring
someone for.

Speaker 22 (01:04:09):
The next four or five six years that can help you.

Speaker 23 (01:04:11):
Because Lebron James I reported he's going to play about
up to two NBA seasons.

Speaker 22 (01:04:16):
So the Lakers themselves, assuming.

Speaker 23 (01:04:19):
They get Lebron James back, They're don't have to prepare
for life without him anyway.

Speaker 22 (01:04:22):
So player development is going to be a big part of.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
That, yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
And it's it's interesting because there's some first round picks
over the last I don't know, in three or four years,
I kind of had some high hopes for that. You
haven't really been able to develop. I mean, Jade McDaniels
whom they drafted, I don't know if we ever played

(01:04:45):
for him, Isaiah Jackson, you know, Jalen Hood Schafino, the
Max Christie was the second round pick. I mean, these
are guys that whenever you brought him in you kind
of thought, oh, maybe there's a chance to develop him,
but they never end up having a role. I mean,
I was trying to go down through here. Can you
name the last Lakers first round pick that ended up

(01:05:06):
having a role on the team. I mean Lonzo Ball
in twenty seventeen, right, and he was the number two
pick overall in the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
But what did he end up becoming?

Speaker 13 (01:05:15):
Bait?

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Trey Bait, Brandon Ingram, that was pretty good pick.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
The Angelo Russell worked out okay, But since Alonzo Ball,
mo Wagner ended up moving on from him DeAndre Hunter.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
I just I don't have to go back through the list, but.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
It's been a franchise that unfortunately has kind of sucked
when it's come to the draft over the last four years.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
So you do have to start preparing for the future,
but you haven't developed what you have.

Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
Meanwhile, Lebron James's son, Ronnie, has been pretty honest about
at the very least what his mindset is. And it's
not a situation where Ronnie James Bidy strategy imagination is
just pining away to play with his dad. I mean,

(01:06:05):
Lebron is the guy who came out and said, hey, man,
I want to play with Bronnie. Meanwhile, Bronni's like, yeah,
I kind of want to just play in the NBA.

Speaker 10 (01:06:12):
My dream has always just been to put my name out,
make a name for myself, and of course, you know
it gets to the NBA, which is everyone's angle at
us here, and you know, I never thought about just
playing with my dad, but of course he's He's brought
it up a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
He has he has publicly, which again you're Lebron James,
do what you want. But Ronnie James is uh, kind
of sitting back saying, you know, I kind of like
to do this on my own accord.

Speaker 24 (01:06:43):
Right now.

Speaker 25 (01:06:43):
This is a serious business, and I don't feel like
there would be like a thought of I'm just drafting
this kid just because of I'm gonna get his dad, Like,
I don't think a GM would would.

Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Really allow that.

Speaker 25 (01:06:56):
I think I've put in the work and I'll get
drafted because of the person, not only the player, but
the person that I am.

Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
All right, when we come back to the tiraq dot
com studios, No, Ian, you're a Golden State fan, right
A Lakers Okay? I need you then to be my
help because I'm losing my mind about what I think
the Lakers are going to do and I'm not happy
about it. This would be two nights in a row
that I'm freaking out at about this same time slot

(01:07:22):
in the show about the future of what's supposed to
be one of the most storied franchises in the NBA
right now. But first before we do that, he's back,
Kevin wired. Everything is a final in the world of
sports with what's trending, what's going on, Kevin.

Speaker 6 (01:07:36):
Yeah, everything is a final It took twelve innings and
until the three o'clock am hour in at Tallahassee, but
the Auburn Tigers winning it two to one against the
UCF Knights in that elimination game, so the Tigers do
survive and advance. Earlier tonight in the NBA Playoffs, the
Mavericks advance against the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning Game six

(01:07:59):
one seventeen sixteen to move on to the Western Conference Finals.
Luka Doncic a triple double. It's the third straight playoff
game in which he has recorded won the fifth player
in NBA history to do that. Shay Gilgess Alexander, for
all his efforts that had an outstanding game thirty six
points off fourteen to twenty five, shooting four and five
from beyond the three point arc. Also had himself three rebounds,

(01:08:21):
eight assists and zero turnovers.

Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
Although PJ.

Speaker 6 (01:08:24):
Washington the one to get the win at the end,
he had a couple of clutch three pointers also hit
some free throws in the final seconds to gain at
Dallas the victory. We will have a couple of Game
seven's on Sunday. It will be the Nuggets and Timberwolves
in one game The other game will feature the New
York Knicks hosting the Indiana Pacers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

(01:08:46):
The Edmonton Oilers they survive in Force eight Game seven
against the Vancouver Canucks, winning at five to one, so
that winner take off. Game seven will be Monday evening
in Vancouver. WNBA action. It's the New York Liberty beating
the Indiana Fever ninety one eighty is. Kitlyn Clark got
twenty two points, eight assists, but eight turnovers in that loss.

(01:09:07):
We also saw an incredible fake move by Sabrina Foot
faking out Kitlyn Clark before nailing that three pointer. The
Las Vegas Aces they'd beat the La Sparks eighty nine
to eighty two. In the PGA Championship Xanders Chowflake colin Morikawa.
They are tied at fifteen under parts a one stroke lead.

(01:09:29):
Shane Lowry two shots back after a record tying sixty
two today, Scottie Scheffler a third round seventy three. He
has eight shots behind, the first time he has shot
around over par since August of twenty twenty three. Sees
the Gray, the winner of this year's a Preakness Stakes
over in Baltimore was a muddy track, but sees the

(01:09:49):
Gray winning at Wired to wire, Mystic Dan the Kentucky
Derby winner finishing second, So no triple crown winner this year.
Baseball Padres game Atlanta reigned out to play a doubleheader
on Monday. The Orioles home game had a three hour
rain delay at the start, but eventually it is the
Seattle Mariners winning at four to three against the Orioles

(01:10:10):
Rangers over the Angels in thirteen innings three to two
thanks to a bases loaded hit by pitch, the Dodgers
shutting at the Reds for nothing, Walker Buehler picking up
his first win at Dodger Stadium in two years. Milwaukee
over Houston, snapping the Asters six game winning streak four
to two, Justin Verlander taking the al for Houston. Kansas
City sending the Oakland Athletics to a seventh straight loss

(01:10:33):
five to three.

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
To the final.

Speaker 6 (01:10:35):
There, the Yankees have made it six straight win six
to one. They beat the White Sox won Soto four
for four on the day, including two home runs.

Speaker 2 (01:10:42):
Back to you thanks a Lot, Kevin so.

Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
During Kevin's update, as we welcome you back to the
Bernie Fratto show here on a Fox Sports sunday'n Chris
Plank sitting in Ian Roddy running the show, Marks on
the Wheels of Steel, Kevin Wyre on updates.

Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
Ian.

Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
I went to an NBA dot com a mock draft.
I think Bleacher Report runs it. Some of these pro
comparisons would make me want to trade the draft pick.
I mean, you have It's just the dumb luck, is
it not? Of the Atlanta Hawks. For the first time
in program or in the franchise history, you get the

(01:11:21):
number one, number one overall pick in the draft, and
even though he had a great season this year, the
pro comp for the number one overall picking the draft
Alex Sar is Jared Jackson junior. Now again, Jared had
a nice season if he can be. He's been a
double double digit producer his entire career. But I don't know, man,

(01:11:46):
Whenever I have the number one overall pick, Wimbin Yama
cornerstone franchise guy in twenty twenty three, right it was.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
I don't think there was any.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Like tank for Wimby or anything like that, but there
was there was the idea that you were getting a
generational talent with Victor Winbinyama, Paulo Boncio in twenty two. Now,
there was a little bit of debate late about him,
but as we got really really tight down to the draft,
to quickly became obvious that he was the best player

(01:12:17):
in the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
I even think.

Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
I know it's not been the greatest start to his career,
but I still think Kate Cunningham is a gid. Anthony
Edwards was the top overall pick in nineteen, Zion Williamson
still out in twenty nineteen, twenty twenty, twenty nineteen for Zion,
and now here you are with a number one pick,
and the comparisons of the guys that could go one

(01:12:42):
and two are Jaron Jackson Junior and Harrison Barnes.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Think about this, Reed Shephard is projected to go three
his pro comparison.

Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
I don't do comps. I think they're kind of dumb.
But for the sake of this segment, they got Kirk
Heinrich as the comparison for Reed Shepherd. Why in the
world would you draft someone at three overall in the
draft who would have a career comparable to Kirk Heinrich.
No offense, Kirk, You're awesome, but not at number three

(01:13:17):
overall in the draft.

Speaker 15 (01:13:19):
I think what thing to keep in mind though, is
that with these comparisons, it's just like comparing their their
their play style, you know what I mean. It's not like, Oh,
Alex Saar is going to be the same caliber as
Jaron Jackson.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
You know what I mean. They have the Denver Nuggets
pick fifty six.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
This is again, I'm not going to do this all night,
I promise, but I'm just I got sucked into a
stupid mock draft. The Denver Nuggets are picking fifty six.
They have them projected to take Cam Spencer. Who their
comp is, Jeff Horniccheck. I would probably take that guy
like number five in the draft, if you give me
Jeff Horncheck. The problem that I have right now is
I was hoping to find some sort of pro comp

(01:13:58):
for Brownie James, but they don't have him projected as
a guy that's gonna get picked.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
So, I I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Here's my grinch. I know we got a break. I
know we got a break, but I want to move
on past the Lakers Ian. Should I be okay with
him deciding to commit to le Bron for a couple
more years? Try to develop some of these guys and
they can get younger players they're not gonna have draft
picks to build from, but maybe develop a little bit
more and feel good about a future when Lebron moves

(01:14:31):
on playing with his son Ronnie James next year, that
Anthony Davis can be the cornerstone he needs to be
and they can be okay once Lebron retires or am
I doomed?

Speaker 15 (01:14:41):
So are you asking, like, to what extent should they
really be acquiescing to Lebron? Correct to me, you're the
Lakers too. I'm very impressed by that. Yeah, thank you,
thank you. You're you're the Lakers. You know, like you're
You're a franchise that some of the best players in
NBA history have played for. You're not a franchise that

(01:15:03):
is that needs to stoop down to that level where
you need to behold to a player, even a player
as great as Lebron James. It's just to me, you're
you're not You're not the Nets, You're not the Hornets.
Who who If you're one of those franchises, I get it.
You know you're you're going all in. You want to
give this all time player what he wants. But for
the Lakers, I think you can afford to move on.
I think you're that caliber of a franchise. But I

(01:15:25):
don't know about move on. But I just think like
you don't need to do everything that Lebron James wants.
And if he's gonna move on because you aren't willing
to do that, then so be it.

Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
When we come back to the tiraq dot com studios,
I'll let you know if I'm gonna buy the advice
that Ian has given me. But in all seriousness, we've
got some good tweets we want to share.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Plus hit me up.

Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
Let's go two hours to go eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six
three six nine. We got controversy the end of the
thunder game. We got two game seven today and we're
talking NFL right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
Do you want to try? You want to see if
Holler and James is still hanging in there.

Speaker 3 (01:16:02):
Let's give him a let's give him a shot. That's
my bad. We got carried away with a guest. We
had some brownie stuff. What's going on, Holler and James,
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, I didn't think so great.
I felt I felt that I second hear it, But
I told you I I bet. Holler and James fell asleep.

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
That's on me. See I preach about it. It's like
Arnie and I on Sunday nights.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Arnie's always like, hey, I'm you guys need to text
the show new and improved program.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
What do you want to talk about?

Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
We get all these tweets and I'll get them all ready,
and before I read, He's like, hey, let me let
me ask you about this, right, and completely implodes any
opportunity for you guys to get involved.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
I just fell victim to the Arnie game.

Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
Sorry about that, Holler and James eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six '
three sixth night. All right, I got some NFL talk
coming up next hour. I want to talk national footage.
There seems to be some I just saw my man
Gunny's tweet and I said, resin, Sorry, Gunny, that was very,

(01:17:10):
very exciting to see the pile of weed that you
are smoking here tonight. I hope the show makes a
little bit more sense to you than it does to
me here right now. But we're still getting a little
bit of maybe shrapnel might be the way to put it.
From the end of the Jason, Jason Martin and the

(01:17:33):
Aaron Torres Show. Because I don't have a take on
Harrison bud Kerr's comments, I just I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
I'm kind of I'm kind of surprised that everyone's mad
about his his vision, his idea of what you know,
a woman's role is, and everybody completely ignores that he
just absolutely took a blowtorch towards.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
I mean, it's the funniest thing about this. How dare
you speak for women?

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Meanwhile, he talks about celebrating a month of debauchery, and
everyone's kind of like, yeah, that's fine, but this whole
thing he.

Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Says about women. So I wanted to read.

Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
Two tweets now we got on this, I want to
read two a Head News, who I consider to be
one of the foremost connoisseurs of hot takes.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
I like you Ahead News.

Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
He writes the greatest thing about Harrison Butker, And by
the way, I want to make this clear, it's not
Harrison Butler, it's Harrison Butker.

Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
The greatest thing about the Harrison Butker story, it's a
text bookcase.

Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
On how to destroy the woke mind virus.

Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
Wait until you make the big check, win a Super Bowl,
and blast away the NFL and media can't do a
damn thing to you. And then there's Brendan who writes
guarding Harrison Butker's comments. To be crystal clear, he absolutely
said nothing that was wrong. We've got some entitled, pampered
a holes that think it's their way or the highway.

(01:19:11):
I have no desire to listen to vile hypocrites like them.
Well listen, I just want to make this very clear.
As a fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and someone
who wants to see a little parody back in the
AFC West, I kind of think the Chiefs should cut him,
let him go, get him out of there. Can't be
having this kind of talk. In fact, if I was
Patrick Mahomes, I would demand a trade until Harrison Butker

(01:19:35):
is not on the Chiefs anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
And if I was.

Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
Travis Kelcey, I would say, I'm not playing as long
as that guy's kicking field goals for us. And then
maybe if you're Kansas City, you gotta think about sticking
behind your kicker now because he's selling so many jerseys.

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
None you buying that.

Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
It's just hilarious to me the things that end up
making headlines. I mean the Tom Brady roast last week.
I'm Brady roast. We're having some sort of sympathetic ear
for a murderer's wife, our girlfriend who may have been
involved in some sort of cover up or at the

(01:20:14):
very least some sort of involvement in the issue that
led to the band being in jail, and we're gonna
have some sort of Oh, man, that's too bad she
had to hear that. I wonder sometimes if if we
understand what a roast or what these commencement speeches are about,
doesn't always have to be about you. Everyone's got different opinions, man,

(01:20:36):
and what makes this country so great, or at least
it did. Everyone's got a different opinion, everyone's got a
different mindset. But in the end, we all come together
under one true belief, and that is the Chief should
probably trade Mahomes and stick with Harrison Butker.

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
But that's just me, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
When we come back to the Tyraq dot Com studios,
NFL Talk QB, questions abound.

Speaker 1 (01:21:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
Yeah, it's officially a Fox Sports Sunday two. Game seven's
coming up in the NBA. Let's go now, we got
a little bit of time to get there at three
point thirty Eastern Pacers and Knicks, eight o'clock tonight, Tea,
Wolves and Nuggets. Now for that eighty eastern two hours

(01:21:25):
will be your first I think I think Gardney and
I will be on either right as that game wraps
up or at the very least midway through the fourth
quarter to take you home for that Timberwolves Nuggets game tonight.
But yeah, we'll be back tonight from ten p to
one a Central Time right here on Fox Sports Radio
to recap the day. In the meantime, we get a
chance to set the stage as we come to you

(01:21:47):
live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tire rack
dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot Com is the way
tire by should be. We had a game that ended
in softball at three am Eastern time. I got some
wild pitching notes on that. I've got ten hours worth

(01:22:10):
of football content and I'm going to try to cram
here into the final two that we've got, and I
feel like there's a there's a Tiger Woods question that
needs to be asked. But listen, I'm all about you.
I'm literally just the Steve Berline. I'm the backup. I'm
the Todd Marinovitch, I'm the Steve Polor. Bernie's the starter.

(01:22:32):
So I want to hear from you at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six sixty three sixty nine, because come on, man, we're
going through this at three am Central Time together on
a Saturday night into a Sunday morning and holler and James.
We tried to get him in earlier, but he is
back to kick off our number three. What's going on? James?

Speaker 22 (01:22:54):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (01:22:54):
Buddy?

Speaker 24 (01:22:57):
Oh no, no.

Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
If if we go ohero for two on this edge, James,
I might have to ban him. And by the way,
I have no power to ban anybody. And I think
I fill in, what do we have? Ian Like, maybe
what's Bernie take three shows off a year at three
weekends off.

Speaker 17 (01:23:16):
For the year.

Speaker 2 (01:23:17):
You're bad.

Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
I've lost my faith And you know what, I think
this is a bit. I think this is a bit
of Holler and James. He did this to me when
I was on Ben Maller the other day, did the
same thing. Huh Is this an attack from the malord militia? Sorry,
Holler and James, We'll try next time. I'm only going

(01:23:40):
to assume that you wanted to talk about the controversial
ending to Game seven, Ian hold On. Can I position
this as a controversial finish or is that kind of homeeristic?
Seeing that the player involved in the foul says that
he committed a foul, I.

Speaker 15 (01:23:57):
Mean, if he admitted it, it's there's not much of
a controversy. But I will say I understand it, especially
when a Game seven comes down to the wire like that.

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
Are it wasn't Game seven, you.

Speaker 5 (01:24:07):
Know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Yeah, a season ending types exactly.

Speaker 15 (01:24:10):
When it comes down to the wire like that and
comes down to a foul call, there's gonna be people
calling it controversial regardless. But I think the fact that
he came clean about it pretty solid.

Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Oklahoma City enters the off season with an all star
corner piece near maximum cap space to target another potential
star if they want. They've got a decision on the
future of Josh Giddy, but Hey, they don't have to
rush that.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
They don't have to extend him now.

Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
And they've got fifteen first round picks and twenty one
second round picks over the next seven drafts through twenty thirty.
According to hoops Hype, they are number one in something
called the trade Value rankings. And we learned that Oklahoma
City was pretty aggressive in trying to go after MOBILEI

(01:25:01):
Evan Mobley, by the way, I almost said Katino Mobley
and mean with us on Fox Sports Radio. We wanted
to get Katino Mobley. We needed a left handed shooter, okay,
But they were aggressive on the report from Shams this
week in the twenty twenty one draft, trying to move
up to get Evan Mobley. Could they be in that
game again this year to maybe try to if Cleveland's

(01:25:22):
going to be selling assets? I mean, my god, Cleveland,
how many different rebuilds are we going to go through?
If you're going to bail on this current inclination or
if Donovan Mitchell is going to back you into a corner?

Speaker 6 (01:25:33):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
So could that mean a guy like Mobley could be
available for Oklahoma City? Don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
I think it's a fascinating story, and I think in
the end, Oklahoma City's going to be here for a while.
But you also, you know, whenever you have a team
that you seem like you had such control of after
Game one of this series, where you fought off every opportunity,
it seemed like when they were going to jump in
front of you, it's got to suck tonight to realize

(01:26:01):
that that run is over. Afterwards, the third place not
second place finisher in the MVP, Shay Gilgess Alexander talked
about the season being a step in the right direction.

Speaker 4 (01:26:10):
We definitely took a step in the right direction this year,
to say the least.

Speaker 11 (01:26:15):
Now, this moment's things you don't want everyone to lose,
but the definitely some good things to come out of it.

Speaker 4 (01:26:21):
In moments like this is what makes you know the champions.
You guys get better.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
And regardless of how you feel about the late challenge
on the three, regardless of how you feel about Shay
Gilgess as a corner piece, you do at least have
to admit that Sam Presty has put this franchise and
has given it the assets to be in as good
a position as maybe it's maybe just about any franchise

(01:26:48):
has ever been in I can't ever remember a time
outside of some sort of video game created a league
where you had a team that at this any assets
from a draft capital perspective over the next ten years,
almost six years. And it's also good when you know

(01:27:09):
you have a corner piece like Mark Dagnalt, their head
coach knows that they have an SGA.

Speaker 12 (01:27:14):
He's a big time player that hasn't gotten to prove
that on this stage yet. And I thought that was
loud and clear over the course of the postseason and
then tonight, I thought he played very well, you know,
obviously got to his spots. I thought the pace of
the offense really helped him out, helped the whole team out.
He made big shots. Three hit to cut into the
lead late, was big time shot and found his teammates again.

(01:27:36):
You know, I mentioned that the last time we were
in this room at the end of Game four, he
found guys and they hit. Tonight, he trusted those plays
throughout the night.

Speaker 16 (01:27:45):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:27:45):
So obviously nothing positive, nothing but positive things to say.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
And much like Shay Gildess Alexander said, Mark Dagnault says,
this franchise, this program is headed in the right direction.

Speaker 22 (01:27:57):
I think if you it's painful right now.

Speaker 12 (01:27:59):
But if you zoom out and you just look at
like year over year progress progress from the beginning of
the season till now, progress from the beginning of the
playoffs till now, you know, we're just a more seasoned,
more matured, more connected, better, tougher, smarter, you know, where
everything you know. Through the course of the season, we

(01:28:19):
talk a lot about growing through experiences. I thought we
did that, you know, to the highest degree, and it
yielded obviously a very successful season despite not, you know,
having a little more success in winning the series.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
I I always have this paranoia. You guys know, we're
only like three years removed from the Utah Jazz being
the number one seed. I mean it's I look back
over history. The Utah Jazz with what looked to be
a very strong core Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, up and
coming coach in Quin Snyder. Though Quinn had been around

(01:28:54):
for a while, but he and made the he had
made the NBA circ as an assistant, gets the job
at Utah and you're like, dang man, he's cooking, and
then all of a sudden, the bottom drops out. Mitchell's
unhappy Danny Ainge comes in, he flips him and they boom,
go from the number one overall seed to a rebuild

(01:29:17):
in the blink of an eye. I don't think that's happening.
N Okay, see, I don't.

Speaker 4 (01:29:24):
It's just I.

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
Always get paranoid when you miss those opportunities. Nothing is guaranteed, right,
you feel really good about where they are. Nothing is guaranteed.
Thunder fans felt really good about where they are when
they had hard in Westbrook and Durant and what to
get them an NBA Finals appearance, a runner up, and
that was it. Like this team though like it a lot.

(01:29:46):
Now on the flip side of it, maybe it would
be nice if I spent some time talking about the
team that's moving on, the Dallas Mavericks as we roll
on here on Fox Sports Radio and for Bernie Frattow,
I'm Chris plank Ian.

Speaker 2 (01:29:56):
I have a question for you. We can go around
the horn on this if you guys want.

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
Do you think the Dallas Mavericks are what it surprised
you is at all if the Dallas Mavericks won the title.
Do you see this as a team with the way
that they're put together, the move to bring in PJ.
Washington and what he's meant is this a team that
can raise a banner? What do you think ian any
team that makes the Western Conference finals? I would say

(01:30:25):
as a caliber team of winning the championship. But that
being said, I just don't know if I see them
beating a team like Denver or even Minnesota. Mark, do
you have a care on this one? I know Mark's
becoming more of an NBA guy every day. Oh yeah,
little by little. Yeah, the NBA stuff is picking up. Well, Okay, Anyway,

(01:30:46):
for commentary purposes, I would for the purpose of having
another team in the mix this year is a good thing,
and for.

Speaker 19 (01:30:57):
This time for Luca to get his chance at the
big time, to.

Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
Have another team in the mix.

Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
I like the way that you you phrase that, because, hey,
Oklahoma City is a different team that was in the mix.

Speaker 19 (01:31:12):
This year, right, they had their chance, and they've gotten
to a better point now, so they're better competitors. They
have the elements of a good team, and I guess
maybe defensively or or offensively, they can you know, take
another step forward to get better with that, maybe change
a few players or those what they have now gets

(01:31:35):
better next year and with that stuff. And as they say,
it's the ball bounces in their way right better ways
it could work out for.

Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
Them, but they're a better team now. So that's a
good bag.

Speaker 19 (01:31:46):
And so it's good for looking to have his chance
to be the star that everybody hopes he would be.
All their promises can come come true.

Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
Here's here's something on it too, before I before I
get Kevin's take on it, I'm fascinated to try to
grasp or understand or gauge what the stout the star
power of Luca can be like. In other words, I love,
like I said, he's enraging whenever he's going up against
your team, because he looks like he's dead, and he

(01:32:18):
looks like he's never gonna walk again, or he looks
like he's the cryingest baby you've ever seen, and then
all of a sudden, he's just draining threes and hitting
these old man step back jumpers and looking like an
incredibly less athletic Dirk, but he just gets it done.
I wonder if that's a guy that if this team

(01:32:38):
gets into the finals, I wonder if it can become
another level of superstardom for him, because he's over in Dallas, right,
I mean, let'ten Come on, man, the guy's a rock star.

Speaker 2 (01:32:47):
But can he do.

Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
For his profile for the NBA what maybe a Steph
Curry did? Could it be that level? Could he be
that kind of star?

Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
Kevin, what do you think? Do you look at the
Mavericks as a team that you think can win a title?
I mean they could contend for I mean, they already
are obviously going to the and by the way, on that,
I love that, absolutely love what Ian said. He's like, hey,
they're in the Western Conference finals. Of course they can, right,
I mean, they have the ability to.

Speaker 6 (01:33:13):
But much like Ian said, I don't see them getting
past Denver or Minnesota. I saw them getting by the
Clippers that first round series was not unexpected. I did
think the Oklahoma City thunder the would win this series.
So I was wrung before on this Dallas Mavericks team.
But it just it doesn't seem like they are not
quite the level Denver is. Although PJ. Washington, if he
continues playing at this level, I certainly could change things there.

(01:33:38):
But I think Denver they're just too deep, but they're
too experience. They have that title that they won last year.
So I think all the momentums on their side, especially
if they can finish off Minnesota, finish off Minnesota on
Sunday night, I think it's going to be their series
to take personally. But that's why they play the games,
isn't it is? You never know exactly what's going to happen,

(01:33:58):
and I do believe regardless, So what does happen? The
Western Conference again will be the NBA title winner this year.
I don't see Boston or New York beating any of
the remaining Western Conference teams.

Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
That's just how I see it though. So it's funny.

Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
I wasn't someone when Kyrie was on the trade block
because there was a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
Of rumors at that time that the Lakers might be interested, and.

Speaker 3 (01:34:21):
Then there was what the reported bad blood because Lebron
was mad that the Lakers allegedly didn't want to move
on from one of their first round picks.

Speaker 17 (01:34:30):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
It's just it's funny.

Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
It's funny looking back now because I can't help but
wonder Homer moment.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Could Kyrie be doing this.

Speaker 3 (01:34:43):
For another team like the Lakers, or is it so
unique the way that this is set up in Dallas
that it just worked perfectly for him. In other words,
we've seen him and Lebron win a title, right, but
we've also seen it come report to.

Speaker 5 (01:35:00):
A bad end.

Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
I have an ex wife. Every now and then I
kind of think about, you know, times weren't too bad,
we had some fun. Ah, maybe try to be friends
with her again. And then after about a month I
realized that I am a crazy person forever thinking that
would change. So there's this part of me to where,
instead of being bent and bitter that the Lakers didn't

(01:35:25):
go out and get Kyrie Irving to potentially push them
into this stratosphere that the Mavericks are in right now,
I can't help but wonder if Kyrie would have thrived
Throven Thriven thrived in Los Angeles with Lebron the way
that he has right now with Luca. And again, this
was one of his better scoring games tonight. He's a

(01:35:47):
guy that just doesn't wasn't their major point producer because
that was PJ.

Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
Washington as far as the one A to dirt R.
Sorry Luca.

Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
All right, here's postgame thoughts before we grab a break
and move on start looking at Game seven and some
football stuff. Jason Kidd afterwards talked about the challenges of
winning a series.

Speaker 21 (01:36:11):
It was not an easy series, but for us it was,
you know, a really good series in the sense of
staying together. I thought the trust was tested throughout the series.
Game one, Game two, game three, you know, all six games.
But I thought the maturity and trusts for the group

(01:36:32):
was high, and different guys stepped up at different points
in the series. Also, you know, in tonight's game.

Speaker 3 (01:36:43):
Jason Kidd, I mean, second conference final in three years.
Can't argue with it. And they made some adjustments. They're
getting smoked in the first half. Kid talked about them.

Speaker 21 (01:36:53):
But we talked about just the turnovers. That was the
first part. The second part was just the trust and
that we had to get the We had to play faster.
We were not playing fast enough. Even if they scored.
We needed to take the ball out and not you know,
look around and walk the ball up. And I thought

(01:37:14):
to start the third I thought d Jones got us
off to a great start and then we worked the game,
you know, understanding that it wasn't we were going to
you know, get those sixteen points and two shots. I
thought the group stayed together, trusted each other.

Speaker 3 (01:37:30):
They did them all the credit in the world. That is,
it's a really good basketball team. And the move to
bring in PJ. Washington was impressive. And here's what, here's
what kind of even caught my eye. Did the Thunder
not shoot the ball very well from three in this series?

Speaker 4 (01:37:47):
Yeah? You bet?

Speaker 3 (01:37:48):
Okay, See, he came in as one of the best
three point shooting teams this season, and struggle struggle was
it because of what Dallas was doing defensively. Maybe I'm
not trying to disrespect it, but I'll say this much,
Dallas's defense as a whole a little better than I

(01:38:08):
expect him, a lot better. Gafford's a true rim protector,
lively is I mean, legit did play thirty minutes tonight,
had a blog had.

Speaker 2 (01:38:21):
To steal they've got.

Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
You know, it's gonna be interesting to follow in the draft, right,
I mean, we were joking about our goa. We were
talking about Brownie James in the draft and Zach Edie,
I think is one of the more fascinating prospects that
we've seen in the NBA draft in a while. But
I watched this Dallas Mavericks team and I saw two
guys at the rim that even though shake Gildess. Alexander

(01:38:45):
is a freak, and his angles and his loft on
his shots, it just wows.

Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
Me every time.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
But if you weren't the runner up for the MVP,
those dudes were swatting you, you weren't getting a shot off,
or at least they were affecting it. And then I
saw a lot of the same thing. Even though he's
slighter than both of them. I thought chet Holmgren was
an impressive rim protector too. So I can't help but
wonder if teams see this and say, huh, maybe we

(01:39:13):
should invest in a guy who can get and make
a difference at the rim defensively. Maybe it wasn't as
crazy as we thought for the Minnesota Timberwolves to give
up what three first round picks and a couple pick
swaps to go get Rudy Gobert because that two headed
monster man. It gave the thunder fits, absolute fits inside.

(01:39:34):
And then it didn't hurt for Dallas at PJ. Washington
suddenly looked like the franchise player everyone thought he was
going to be whenever he was drafted in the top
fifteen of the draft. All right, So there you go.
Anything else you want to add to it. Find me
on Twitter. I'm at Plank Show. That's at Plank Show.
You can pick up the phone and call. It's at
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. Dallas moves on

(01:39:58):
to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in
three years, and I think I think Game one that
series will be coming up on Wednesday, Wednesday for the
Western Conference Finals the Mavericks and the winner of Game
seven today between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (01:40:15):
All right, when we come back to the Tirack dot
Com studios, I.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
Know we're a little bit ahead of the chains here,
but I want to talk some football.

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
I want to talk some NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
There are two very interesting developing quarterback situations among two
teams that I think we look at as contenders. We'll
dive into it next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, it's the Bernie Frado Show here on Fox
Sports Radio. Surprise, Bernie's not here, but he will be

(01:40:43):
back next week. That's at least my understanding. I am
not on of the books to fill in next week.
Our buddy Scott Shapiro always gives me like a two
week prep, so I can get my sleep right, which
gets me to something that we need to bust everyone
out on. And I think I'm as guilty as anyone. Guys, gals,

(01:41:07):
people of the night. Why the hell are.

Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Sporting events lasting three to four hours whenever they can
be done?

Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
And again, I'm in no rush to leave. This is
what I'm worried about. I fell asleep. I was telling him.
I waited until super late into the night to get
into this. I came home, had dinner with my family,
planned on watching the Thunder Mavericks game, and in true
old man fashion, and I fell asleep, fell asleep. I

(01:41:40):
mean literally, Hi, welcome to out the Mavericks and them
gone out crashed. It's tired, man. I'm not used to
this overnight style. I'm not young like you people. So
I fell asleep and I woke up with Luca hugging

(01:42:01):
I think it was Mark Cuban. I was like, well,
I feel pretty refreshed right now, but I don't know
what happened in this game. So thankfully, with technology the
way that it is, I rewound the DVR and bro
I watched a full NBA game, and I don't know
if this is something we need to be saying out loud.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
But I watched it in literally an hour.

Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
Now, this wasn't I'm going to be very clear here,
This wasn't fast forwarding beyond plays or anything that was
involving action.

Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
It was an hour long ian that was it.

Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
They're going to find out that we're wasting all this time,
and someone's gonna make us try to do more things
we don't want to do. We can't be stretching them
out as long as we are people. Yeah, one hour.

Speaker 5 (01:42:54):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:42:54):
The funny thing about all this is when I went
back and watched it, there were moments. There were moments
where I had to go back and just be like,
what do he say?

Speaker 5 (01:43:04):
Or what was that?

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
But no halftime, right, no pregame obviously, no post game.
One hour to why and feel good talking about it? Listen,
I'm not somebody that just is at the box score.
I take this stuff seriously. Maybe I shouldn't, but I do.
Ac Accuracy matters.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
I like to be right. But they're gonna catch on
to us.

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:43:30):
You know, I'm just warning you right out. We got
to quit dragging these things out too long. I mean,
does TV add that many commercials to this thing? Is
that because I even waited through timeouts and it was
literally like an hour and eight minutes that I ended
up spending watching the game. I look at the clock,
I'm like, oh, listening to Aaron and Jason Martin right

(01:43:51):
here on Fox Sports Radio, why don't we drag.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
These games out so long?

Speaker 17 (01:43:55):
Man?

Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
And what are they gonna find out and ruin all
of our fun? That's my question tonight. If you don't
have an answer, I'm not gonna worry about it.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
One hour how.

Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
Long that game actually lasts? Was it seven o'clock, tip
ten o'clock? Whenever it's done Central time? It's like a
three hour game, right, So we're adding two hours of
fluff in our in our NBA coverage? Is that what
we've There's more fluff than there is actual game. There
is more debate at halftime, there's more commercial breaks than

(01:44:28):
there are games. That what I'm learning here tonight, I
think it is, By the way, is this a whole
big nothing burger in your mind?

Speaker 2 (01:44:36):
And no, I mean it's it's like something.

Speaker 15 (01:44:41):
NBA quarters are what twelve minutes of twelve minutes? Yeah,
so twelve minutes times four, it's forty eight minutes. So
the game itself should it should be less than an
hour in theory. It's but you're right, it's all.

Speaker 3 (01:44:52):
The supporting and I'm watching through the some lays and
all this stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
It's just it's so.

Speaker 3 (01:45:01):
I cover a lot of college sports, and in college sports,
the TV networks are always trying to speed things up, right,
They're always trying to speed it up. College softball, which
we've talked about, probably at a point where Ian Mark
and Kevin are like, dude, we get it.

Speaker 2 (01:45:16):
There was a long game. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
But college softball implemented what they call an action clock
this year to speed up an already fast game. We've
seen it with college baseball, We've seen it with Major
League Baseball. Right, it's like, hey, we got to go.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:45:31):
College football this year is going to have a myriad
of rules aim at speeding up the game. Now, don't
I don't know how the two minute warning is going
to fit into that, but they've got a laundry list
of rules. And it started last year with a clock
not stopping until the final two minutes of a half

(01:45:53):
in the game. But yet, for some reason, with all
of these needs and wants from TV networks, to speed
things up. When it comes to the NBA and when
it comes to even college basketball, I'd say, no, no, no,
let's give them another time out and then we can
take that time out with him.

Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
Why don't we do that now?

Speaker 3 (01:46:11):
No, No, let's let's let's go back to the studio
and get a little bit more perspective from Stephen A.

Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
Smith or ale Charles Barkley.

Speaker 5 (01:46:20):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
I mean, it's just there's so much bluff man. Part
of this too is my research, and I know we
got to get an update.

Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
Every year.

Speaker 3 (01:46:29):
I feel like this is around the time that I
get a chance to do the Overnight Show. But it
seems like Bernie times that vacation after the draft, and
I've been was out last week and I got a
chance to fill in on Tuesday. So I feel like
we can. If you're listening at this time of night,
you nerd out on things like this. Why, Because we're
sports fans. We're not just trying to stay awake.

Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
We live this. We love it. So I have been
trying to figure out why every year.

Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
The constant take is Stanley Cup playoffs deliver a more exciting,
a more competitive product. But yet even with not as
great of games. The NBA is still crushing it in
the ratings. Make your games longer, NHL stretch it out.
I guess I don't know, but I'm trying to What

(01:47:21):
is it? What is it about the NBA that it's
constantly running laps around the NHL, But yet the NHL
seems to have a better product Right now, talk amongst
yourselves on that one. All right, the gig is up.
We're stretching these things out too long, But I don't
really necessarily know if I want to change that. When

(01:47:42):
we come back to the Tirack dot Com studios, let's
dive in on some NFL talk. There are two major
quarterback situations involving potential playoff contenders that need to be resolved.

Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
Could it end in a holdout?

Speaker 3 (01:47:55):
We'll dive into that coming up in a bit, but first,
Kevin Wire's got you caught up on everything that happened in.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
The world of sports.

Speaker 6 (01:48:01):
NBA playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks advancing to the Western Conference
Finals as they take out the Oklahoma City Thunder in
Game six, one seventeen to one, six team to win
that second round series four games to Luka Dantic another
triple double as he had twenty nine points, ten rebounds,
ten assists, so that's a third straight game in which
he has recorded a triple double, the fifth player in

(01:48:23):
NBA history to do so in three straight playoff games.

Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
PJ.

Speaker 6 (01:48:28):
Washington, though the clutch points at the end, had a
couple of big three pointers, also a couple of key
free throws in those final seconds to give Dallas that
one point victory shake Gilgess. Alexander, however, in the loss
as good of a game as you can ask from him,
thirty six points off fourteen and twenty five shooting four
or five from beyond the three point arc, also had

(01:48:48):
himself three rate bounds, eight assists, a couple of bocks,
zero turnovers, and there will be two Game sevens taking
place on a Sunday. It'll be the Nuggets hosting the Timberwolves,
as well as New York playing the Indiana Pacers NHL
Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Edmonton Oilers forcing a Game seven

(01:49:09):
they beat the Canucks five to one on Saturday, so
the pivotal winner take all contest will take place Monday
evening up in Vancouver. WNBA action the New York Liberty
beating the Indiana fever ninety one to eighty as Caitlin
Clark had twenty two points and eight assists, but also
did have a turnover, so she's got eighteen turnovers in
her first two games as a professional. As she is

(01:49:32):
making that adjustment into the professional ranks. The Las Vegas
Aces over the Sparks eighty nine to eighty two. PGA
Championship Xanders Chowfla Colin Morikawa at fifteen under par. They've
got a one stroke lead. They're tied a top the
leaderboard at the PGA Championship. Shane Lowry two strokes back
and he hit a record sixty two on the day. Saturday,

(01:49:55):
top rank golfer Scotty Sheffler, he shot a third round
seventy three, his eight shots behind the lead, and that's
the first time that he has shot a round over
par since August of last year. The Brickness Stakes, the
second of the Triple Crown races over in Baltimore, sees
the Gray the Gray Horse winning the Brickness Stakes, derby

(01:50:15):
winner Mistic Dan finishing seconds. So we will not have
a Triple Crown winner this year. Major League Baseball, we
did have a right now in Atlanta as the Padres
Braves game postpone. They'll play a doubleheader on Monday. The
Orioles home game had a three hour rain delay to
begin things, but eventually it is the Seattle Barriners winning

(01:50:36):
at four to three against Baltimore. The Rangers out last
the Angels in thirteen innings, three to two. They got
a bases loaded hit by pitch to win the game.
The Dodgers will a shutout win against the Cincinnati Reds
four to nothing, Walker Bieler getting his first win at
Dodger Stadium in two years. Milwaukee snapping the Astro six
game winning streak. They win at four to Justin Verlandertik

(01:50:57):
in the l for Houston, Kansas City beats the Oakland
Athletics five to three. So Oakland has now lost seven
straight games. The Yankees, though they're on an opposite streak
six in a row. They've made it as the Bronx
Bombers beat the White Sox six to one, one so
to four for.

Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
Four with two home runs. Back to you, all right,
thanks a lot, Kevin. We are coming to you live
from the tire rack dot Com Studios. Tire rack dot
Com The way tire buying should be shout out to
our man, the real j r. H. I said, he's
been battling insomnia.

Speaker 7 (01:51:27):
This is.

Speaker 2 (01:51:29):
I'm a terrible person when it comes to insomnia. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
We just talked about We just talked about me literally
falling asleep while watching an NBA game.

Speaker 5 (01:51:39):
But this will.

Speaker 2 (01:51:42):
Real, real jr. H. I'll be tweeting the show next
week with you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
That's what's gonna happen, because now my mind is gonna
be set where I gotta be up, gotta be up
at three thirty in the morning. Those of you who
suffer from it, I feel you. I'm sorry, but dude,
I can't even fat of it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:00):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
I fall asleep if the lights turn off, which is
why I'm afraid to turn off the overhead lights here
in the studio.

Speaker 6 (01:52:07):
Inn I could start snoring. There used to be a
great commercial, Jeffer gotcha, Ian? Are you even twenty five yet?
I'm twenty four?

Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Okay, okay, Mark's a little bit older. Maybe he'll remember this.

Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
There used to be a commercial where the lady talks
about there's no more fun when the lights go out
and the old man is eating a suit and the
light turns off. And he falls asleep and you can
hear it bubbling in the suit because he's old.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
That's me.

Speaker 13 (01:52:33):
That is me.

Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
Now I have become what I hate so thinking of you,
thinking of you insomniacts. My goal is to bore you
to the point where you finally fall asleep. That's what
I'm here for. I got an interesting tweet a moment ago.
You want to you want to want to talk about
this real quick. I always ignore anyone that is essentially

(01:52:54):
a troll account, and I think my man at at
FK Oklahoma City, bless his heart, he really, really really
wants to try to get under the skin of Oklahoma
City thunder fans. The at FK Oklahoma City Twitter handle

(01:53:16):
has the picture that says Clay Bennett stole my sonics
and then his Twitter handle or his name outside of
his handle is feasting on the tears of okac kool
aid drinkers since two thousand and eight. Bro, there's not
like this army of thunder fans out there. I mean,

(01:53:36):
there's a good group of Oklahoma City based people, but
you're not having to fight a lot outside of the
state borders.

Speaker 2 (01:53:42):
I mean, what even mean? And at what point?

Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
All right, here's a question, at what point, Seattle, do
you have to let it go? She left you, she's
not coming back. Sorry, she found something that was better
for her. You might have had a great relationship, the
kids might have been thriving at one point under you,

(01:54:06):
but you lost it, let yourself go a little bit,
put on a few pounds. All of a sudden, the
pretty girl found someone else, had some pockets, had some cash,
had a passionate fan base, and oh, it just happened
to hit right at the same time that one of
the coolest young cores in college in the NBA came

(01:54:27):
together at the time in drant Westbrook and Horden. I
think there's a point where and again, you're really crushing
it right now because you've been on Twitter for nine
years and you have fourteen followers, so the movement is
gaining traction. But I think there's this point where I

(01:54:48):
think most of Seattle fans have let it go. I
think it'd be cool if they just became thunder fans. Unacceptable.
I know that, I get it, but it's not It's
not anyone in Oklahoma City's fault. It's not thunder fans fault.
I mean, hell, they were the Sonics when they came round,

(01:55:08):
they weren't even damn thunder. Thunder wasn't even a thing.
Oklahoma City, it's wild. You talk about butterfly effect, and
I know we got to break. I feel like I'm saying,
I know we got to break a lot tonight. We're
getting we're getting deep in the weeds here in.

Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
This late hour.

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
But I mean, you talk about butterfly effects, Hurricane Katrina
actually led to Oklahoma City, proving it can be an
NBA town. That's when the Hornets moved here for a season.
It was wild, it was a good year, it was fun.
They got a great following. But once the damages were
repaired from Katrina and the Pelicans are I don't even

(01:55:46):
know where they with even the Pelicans then, but they
had an opportunity to come here and playing, Okay, see,
proved they could get it done. Yeah, I think it's
time to let it go. Man, time to let go.
You're gonna get an NBA franchise at some point. But no,
not coming back. She's not coming back. She's over you,

(01:56:09):
all right. When we come back, we'll get your calls.
At eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine ninety six six three six nine And for
Bernie Fratto. I'm Chris Plank. This is Fox Sports Radio.
It's the Bernie Fratto Show on a Fox Sports Sunday.
Bernie will be back next week. My name is Chris Plank.
Thanks for hanging out with us. I said, I want
to get some goals going, and it's eight seven seven

(01:56:31):
ninety nine on Fox. You guys responded, I appreciate it.
So let's go to the phones. Shane in Des Moines
is first up. Good morning Shane, You're on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (01:56:40):
Man?

Speaker 7 (01:56:41):
Good morning christ and Cruz.

Speaker 20 (01:56:42):
Thanks for letting me on.

Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
No, dude, great, great to hear your voice. Shane. How's
it going, man?

Speaker 5 (01:56:47):
Uh?

Speaker 18 (01:56:48):
Not too bad.

Speaker 7 (01:56:49):
So I'm an Iowa Saint fan, so I hate Oklahoma,
but I love you, love your podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:56:53):
Thanks.

Speaker 18 (01:56:54):
I just hate the.

Speaker 5 (01:56:55):
Players in the uniform.

Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
Now.

Speaker 7 (01:56:57):
I'm a Sonics fan in Iowa, and I think the
reason Sonics fant hat Oklahoma is for how.

Speaker 5 (01:57:02):
We left Okay, go ahead, our team. I'm here.

Speaker 7 (01:57:04):
Our team was terrible, but we feel like it was stolen.
That's just my personal opinion. That said, though, of the
guys that left Oklahoma from the start of Oklahoma. Who
do you think is more likely to return Between Durant, Westbrook,
Paul George, you know, any former guys might come back home.

(01:57:25):
Give any take on that?

Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
Yeah, you know what, it's interesting that you say that
because the Durant hype had kind of built up a bit.
There seems to be a lot of people that are
pointing Durant towards Orlando. But I think Phoenix is going
to try to keep him around. I don't think Westbrook's
have been any any more of Shane, And as far
as Paul George, I don't think he's coming back. I

(01:57:46):
think they're going to try to land mobilely or just
continue to bring in young guys and develop them. I mean,
i'd love to see him though, go get another star
with Shay. That'd be pretty cool.

Speaker 7 (01:57:57):
Are there any of those guys you personally would like
to see finish as.

Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
Kevin Durant under Kevin Durant, See, I kind.

Speaker 7 (01:58:04):
Of would love to see if we get a team
back before he hangs it up and yep, one more time,
that'd be cool. Shane, I mean, it's it's already started.
I'd like to see him in there, But you know
that might be a pipe dream.

Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
So Shane, you know what I am officially, we need
to talk because I'm officially and that Oklahoma's leaving the
Big Twelve. I do a lot of things in the
Big Twelve. I think I want to become a full
time Iowa State fan. Like I got a couple buddies
that coach there. I love Ames. I'm thinking about I'm
thinking about moving on to being an Iowa State fan.

Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
Now is my Big Twelve tide. But I mean, does
it just snow every day there? I mean, how are you?
I mean, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (01:58:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:58:44):
God doesn't love us.

Speaker 5 (01:58:45):
That pretty much the problem.

Speaker 7 (01:58:48):
If I can be honest, I don't know. Didn't brock
Porty almost so? Football of you? You were telling me
one time?

Speaker 3 (01:58:54):
Okay, listen, I was on the sidelines and it was
the Big Twelve championship game and he was running out
of bounds on a play and when he did, we
we collided. Now, everyone started booing and I thought it
was my fault, but then I realized that he had
been pushed late by defender and there was no flag,

(01:59:14):
so we just we had a little collision. I'm not
gonna say that he had to get checked by trainers
for a potential concussion afterwards, but Shane, maybe he did.

Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
But that's it. That's the that's the extent of the
beef I have with brock perty.

Speaker 7 (01:59:28):
I understand, well, thanks for letting me, brother, You've got
some other people to get to, so I appreciate your time.

Speaker 3 (01:59:34):
I decided to start talking Iowa State cyclone athletics and
it kind of imploded everything. So if you're who knows
where this thing is gonna go, Dennison, Vermont, butch in Germany,
hang in there. I want to make sure you guys
have plenty of time. It's been weird because I sat
down for the show tonight and I wrote down a
lot of football to get to and we haven't been

(01:59:56):
able to yet. There's been reaction to the NBA playoffs,
a lot on the end of the thunder game, a
lot on Dallas. You know, we've been debating whether or
not the Mavericks or a team that we look at
and say, by God, they can win a title. I mean,
they're one of the final four. He In brought up
a great point. He's like, listen, they're the Western Conference finals,
and I know we're looking back and that was Portland

(02:00:16):
like three years ago. But still they've got a shot.
So I am I am here for the Dallas Mavericks
and Luca this new Kyrie smart moves of the deadline.
But will whoever takes Game seven tonight, will that end
up being a team that just has too much talent
for Dallas to overcome. So it's been a fun NBA show.

(02:00:40):
But when we come back, let's talk some NBA and
the PGA Championship. The story has been obviously the arrest, right,
that's been the story, which basically should magnify something that
usually is the biggest story out of golf event that
we haven't even talked about.

Speaker 2 (02:00:59):
What's going on with Tiger Woods. It's next on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (02:01:03):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Busy Day on tap.
You just heard the update from Kevin. We got two
Game seven's coming up coming up this afternoon at three
point thirty Eastern time. Pacers in the Knicks eight o'clock
Eastern time tonight, t Wolves and Nuggets. Oh tough, tough

(02:01:25):
in for the OKC thunder but another solid year for
the Dallas Mavericks. We'll hear from Luca a little bit
later on, I gotta get to this NFL talk to
at some point. At some point, I gotta talk NFL.
But at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three six.

Speaker 2 (02:01:42):
' nine, we're all about your calls.

Speaker 3 (02:01:44):
Butch is in Germany to help us kick off the
final hour here at the Bernie Fratto Show. What's going on, Butch,
welcome to the program.

Speaker 5 (02:01:51):
Hey, thanks, thanks you to hearing me.

Speaker 2 (02:01:53):
Loud and clear.

Speaker 5 (02:01:54):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
What time is it in Germany?

Speaker 5 (02:01:56):
It's eleven in the morning.

Speaker 2 (02:01:59):
Nice, Yeah, hours on it.

Speaker 5 (02:02:00):
Yeah, we're just doing like a brunch and having a
couple of mimosas and just hanging out.

Speaker 2 (02:02:06):
Jealous but.

Speaker 5 (02:02:10):
Hey, because of my time difference and like all the
overnight stuff, it's like morning time for me. But I
do listen to you. I do listen to your show
all regularly. I think you're doing a great job today.
I'm pretty much every day of the place in pert Yeah,
but I was you hit all like three things if

(02:02:32):
you give me just a cop to be quick. First
of all, last night I fell asleep on the couch
after I put the kids to bed, and I was
watching a replay of the Cowboys and RAMS playoff game
from like twenty eighteen or a year that ramsom for

(02:02:53):
the Super Bowl, and uh, I woke up and oh
my god, what time is it? And I realized it
was really late? So I did what you did if
after every play, I like hit the ten second button
like three times. I watched the I watched that entire
playoff game barely over an hour because I just cut

(02:03:15):
out all the commercials. I cut all the time in between,
you know. So yeah, it's like, it's crazy the amount
of time that, especially now the NFL is like adding
all these commercials. And the next thing for you said,
you did it with basketball. I don't watch basketball, but
I pay attention to, you know, the talk Radiers shows
and the and the standings. But it seems like the

(02:03:38):
last two minutes of that basketball game was like the
entire time of like a whole quarter. Like it's it's
crazy that all the timeouts and all that stuff. But
when you can, you can do like you did, and yeah,
you know, record it and just just just power through.

Speaker 3 (02:03:53):
I almost think that we're onto something here. I mean
to be honest with you, but I think we're onto
something here. I think this might be the way to
watch sporting events from here too.

Speaker 20 (02:04:02):
Four.

Speaker 3 (02:04:03):
Just go to bed, stay out Twitter, you don't fight
with anyone, and then wake up when it's over, and
then go watch it.

Speaker 2 (02:04:08):
We can fast forward past all the bs.

Speaker 5 (02:04:11):
Yeah, no, kid, like I said, especially with me, I mean,
I pay attention to the stuff you guys talked about
and the standings. The only team I care about in
the NBA is the Golden State Warriors because I'm from California.

Speaker 17 (02:04:27):
But uh.

Speaker 5 (02:04:29):
Again, I don't I don't watch it, but I'll watch.
I'll just watch the highlights real quick because that's really
all I need for the the NBA. But I'm really
happy for hockey. I wish I was a Canadian team.
We'll get to the finals eventually. Haven't won a Cup
since like ninety three. Man, I'm in Germany, so it's, uh,
you know, there's not a lot there's there's not a

(02:04:50):
lot of options. I don't have like yeah, I mean
I have apps, but I don't have like I don't
have like Live, ABC, CBS, NBC. So uh yeah, going
from there anyway, I want. I think you did a
great job.

Speaker 2 (02:05:04):
Hey, can I ask you a question before you bail
on us?

Speaker 3 (02:05:06):
I feel like, I don't get an opportunity every day
to talk to someone that lives in Germany. I'm just
I'm going to be honest with you. So I'm curious.
Is there as much buzz for the NFL as the
NFL likes to make you want to believe there is
in Germany?

Speaker 20 (02:05:21):
Oh? Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (02:05:23):
Really?

Speaker 5 (02:05:23):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (02:05:24):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (02:05:25):
That uh all right? That first that first game in
Munich was a last year. The year before it was
it was it was on my birthday, was November thirteenth.
Maybe too much information, any uh, my wife, so we
lived about it's like a five hour where we lived

(02:05:45):
in Germany, it's like a five hour drive to muse
So my wife, my wife says, hey, this this this
you love the NFL.

Speaker 4 (02:05:53):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (02:05:54):
It's the Niners. I haven't have so much Niners craf
of my house is ridiculous. But anyway, I'm understanding forever.
I'm born in nineteen sixty five and I lived in
the Bay Area, so it's between the Raiders and the
Niners and so it was nice. But anyway, that game
in Munich, my wife says, hey, what do you think

(02:06:17):
about this for a birthday present? Holy crack. The tickets.
The tickets sold out in like ten minutes, and there
were two hundred thousand or something like that more requests
for tickets. It's crazy. Yeah, it's it really is. My

(02:06:38):
wife's from My wife's from England. So a couple of
years ago we tried to do the London game, but
the same thing happened. They sell out, so they sell
out so fast. So basically the Munich thing. The reason
why I said, thinking to my wife but no, was
I have two I have seven year old twins. So
the four tickets, the tickets were like two fifty three

(02:07:01):
dollars each or something like that, and then it was
going to have to do a day or a night
or two in a hotel in Munich, plus the drive,
plus all the food. It was going to come out
to like it was. We did the numbers, it was
going to come out to like three or four grand. Yes,
and then it was yeah, oh yeah, yeah, these games okay, yeah,

(02:07:21):
it's crazy. It's it's it's insane. So the SA go
up there gone.

Speaker 2 (02:07:25):
I appreciate phone call. All right, man, I dug for
more information.

Speaker 5 (02:07:29):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (02:07:29):
Appreciate it. I'm not anti overseas games. I'm not not
Anti games in London, Germany? Where are we going new
this year? My boy? We went to Mexico City.

Speaker 3 (02:07:41):
We listened to me like, I'm with the NFL, oh Brazil,
not Anti, and I'm about growing the game. I just
I'm always curious. I've been trying to come up with
analogies all night long. I always feel like I'm wanted somewhere. Hey,
because I'm probably there's some narciss there, but I I

(02:08:03):
will kind of barge in on a family situation and
I can't help. But wonder if I'm the last thing
they want to see. So I can't help, But wonder
if that's the case with the NFL. Are are they
the people that feel like they're wanted and they're invited?
Meanwhile they're sitting around with their arms crossed, going, Okay,
this is not my jam. According to Butch, no, absolutely not,

(02:08:27):
because selling out in a heartbeat, you have, I mean
three hundred dollars a ticket, and that's crazy, but it's
sold out.

Speaker 2 (02:08:37):
NFL's out a bunch of dummies.

Speaker 5 (02:08:38):
Man.

Speaker 3 (02:08:39):
You can get mad about certain things that happen with
your team, but as far as a business is concerned,
they're sharp.

Speaker 2 (02:08:46):
I don't view.

Speaker 3 (02:08:49):
I don't view the overseas the game's overseas, the Germany,
the England's things, and that I don't view them as
like the future. I think it's always going to be
a really cool kind of caveat to the regular season.

Speaker 2 (02:09:00):
Are we going to Vermont here?

Speaker 17 (02:09:01):
Ian?

Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
Is Dennis still hanging out with us?

Speaker 4 (02:09:03):
Or did he?

Speaker 2 (02:09:03):
Bennis is still here?

Speaker 1 (02:09:04):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:09:05):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (02:09:05):
Let's go to Vermont, home of Arnie Spaniard. Dennis is
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (02:09:10):
What's going on? Dennis?

Speaker 17 (02:09:11):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (02:09:12):
I know, Chris, I'll stay good at thanks.

Speaker 16 (02:09:16):
I want I want to.

Speaker 17 (02:09:17):
Bring up a few things if you don't mind, Yeah,
go ahead, your time. Uh. The first thing, I love
your analogy with the Sonics in Oklahoma City. I love
that time to let go like she doesn't she's not
there anymore. I love that. That was a really powerful analogy.

(02:09:43):
It's for me for different reasons.

Speaker 3 (02:09:46):
Oh no, no, no, no, does this in now? I'm
not bringing up old wounds here, bro. I mean, we've
all been done before. But I'm not trying. I'm not
trying to.

Speaker 16 (02:09:53):
Okay, you're good though, No, no, yeah, actually it was
very inspiring.

Speaker 2 (02:10:00):
Actually, well, let's want here to inspire tonight. Let's go.

Speaker 17 (02:10:03):
Yeah, you did, you inspired me. Uh But what I wanted,
what I wanted to really talk about, Uh well, first
of all, the Pacers are going to beat the Knicks.
If they don't, I'm going to be really man, I'm
a Sixers fan, so I hate the Knicks. So Heriams
the Pacers have to win tomorrow. But anyway, what I

(02:10:26):
want to talk about, if you don't mind, is the
Harrison Bucker thing. I'm kind of you know, I feel
like he sold he used his own agenda to kind
of steal what was really What was it really about

(02:10:47):
was these people had worked hard, and they graduated college,
and they worked hard, and you know, I mean there's
a lot of sacrifice in going through and graduating school.
And I feel like he kind of stole their day
with his own agenda. And I'm not trying to bring

(02:11:07):
up anything political or anything like that, but I think
he did. He kind of used their day. And I
don't know, I don't know how you feel about that,
but it really bothered me.

Speaker 2 (02:11:21):
I think, huh, Okay, I appreciate your phone call.

Speaker 5 (02:11:24):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (02:11:24):
I'm gonna tell you something. I'm not here to judge.
I kind of think my man was hammered, and through
his hammeredness, I think he made a decent point. I'm
gonna tell you something. I would not be that composed
if I had been drinking and I was on the
air or imbibing in some way, shape or form.

Speaker 2 (02:11:43):
Glad we could inspire you.

Speaker 24 (02:11:45):
Brother.

Speaker 2 (02:11:46):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (02:11:48):
Who he was talking to were a lot of people
that at least we thought felt well out of the
same way that Harrison Bucker did.

Speaker 2 (02:11:55):
I don't did. I'm gonna tell you something, guys.

Speaker 3 (02:11:58):
I maybe maybe my man Butch in Germany and and
my guy Dennis and Vermont that you guys got me
in my fields a little bit here. But it's funny
because my wife last night, we got a big fight.
You got a big fight last night because I needed
to sleep. I was very it's overnight show. I just

(02:12:20):
I don't need much rest, but rest just a bit.
And they got umploded. Well because I have kids, and
kids kind of suck. And when my wife came home,
she was like, and you wouldn't even stand up for me.
When I was fighting with ex family member on Facebook
over the Harrison Bucker.

Speaker 2 (02:12:39):
Comments, I was like, what I don't know what you're
talking about, because number one, I don't do the Book
of Faces. I don't do Facebook.

Speaker 3 (02:12:50):
But you want to have some fun with a story
that's going out of control, go spend some time on
Facebook and get into a conversation about Harrison Bucker. Now,
to be clear, my wife was very supportive. That's something
she believes in, and that's fine. We live a life
to where I support my family. Hence me being on
the air at four thirteen am trying to get to

(02:13:10):
some NFL talk. But and everyone has their own way
of looking at life, and that's fine as long as
you're not murdering or as long as you're not imploding society.
I think we're going to be okay. But I like
the idea that Dennis and Vermont brought up about he
went after it with his own agenda. You know, I

(02:13:32):
have always wanted to be a graduate speaker. I've always
wanted for my alma mater, like the University of Tulsa
to call me, said Chris Blank, when heed you to
speak at graduation this year, I'd.

Speaker 2 (02:13:46):
Be ready to go. I'm like, let's go.

Speaker 3 (02:13:50):
And the previous caller, my man, Dennis and Vermont got
me thinking about just going up there with my own agenda, right,
just going In other words, Harrison, Butker goes up with
the idea that he is going to absolutely destroy Pride Month.
People don't know if you caught that in that. But

(02:14:10):
also talk about the role of a of a female
in life. I think, I think if I ever get asked,
I'm going to go up there with the idea that
if the Raiders just would have committed a quarterback friendly
coach to JaMarcus Russell, everything could have been different. You

(02:14:31):
went with a twelve year old and Lane Kiffin and
imploded everything I say to you, graduates, the class of
twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (02:14:38):
What are we at four? You need to go forth
with the idea that.

Speaker 3 (02:14:44):
Even if you take JaMarcus Russell, you can develop him
if you get the right quarterback coach and head coach
in there.

Speaker 2 (02:14:52):
I still to this day stand on this hill. You
can make what you want out of a court. I
would take it.

Speaker 3 (02:14:59):
Probably wouldn't get as much buzz is Harrison, but curse
comments did, but you did. You did give me thinking
if I ever get that opportunity to speak at a
graduate Sarah, I'm just gonna go my own way, do
my own thing. I'm gonna go with my agenda, and
that's how we're gonna be. I hold on, I'm not
telling you. I fight back against those who say, don't

(02:15:19):
take a quarterback early in a fantasy draft. I say,
get your quarterback and you'll feel better about it. Wide
receivers are more apt to implode you with an injury.
I don't know if it would work, but I do
like the idea. Guys, I don't know how it takes

(02:15:39):
about this. I'm sorry, I don't even I don't even
feel a certain way. He spoke at a Christian college.
I mean, I I don't understand the outrage over it.

Speaker 2 (02:15:49):
Was he talking? Did he come to your front door
and ma'am, ma'am, you are being stripped of your right
of being a mother?

Speaker 3 (02:15:57):
No, you just you chose to consume it. Bob sterm
is one of my favorite radio guys and my buddy
Jimmy Poplin and I and Tulsa. You can hear him
on our affiliate, the Bullets and Tulsa. We would listen
to Bob and Dan a lot, and he's great on
the hard line on the ticket with Corby the rock
Stars and Bob. One time, Papa and I were listening

(02:16:19):
together and we were laughing because he said, I don't
understand how certain stories become a story, like out of nowhere,
this becomes the biggest thing we're going to talk about
and the biggest thing in sports, and it makes no sense.

Speaker 2 (02:16:30):
This is one of those for me, I don't understand it.
I don't get it. I don't get it at all.
It's like you're really you can be outraged by that.

Speaker 3 (02:16:41):
Okay, or you're gonna feel like you need to go
over the top and support that. Fine, whatever, I just
it's one of those stories that it doesn't make a
lot of sense to me why it's a big deal.
But it's wild how passionate people are about it on
both sides of it. While you can't tell me what
I can be Okay, Well, he doesn't run anything. He's

(02:17:04):
speaking out a graduation, so he's not keeping you from
doing anything.

Speaker 2 (02:17:10):
Hell yeah, you tell him.

Speaker 3 (02:17:11):
Well, I mean he's speaking at a Christian graduation, so
he's telling people that probably are rather like minded like him.
Once again, that's what makes this country great.

Speaker 2 (02:17:24):
But who am I?

Speaker 3 (02:17:26):
I just want to make sure that when the Raiders
commit themselves to drafting a quarterback in the future. They
commit themselves to bringing a coach in that can help
make that a reality. I don't even the idea to
craft JaMarcus Russell into an NFL quarterback was to hire

(02:17:47):
Lane Kiffin. I love Lane Kiffin now. Lane Kiffin when
was eighteen years ago. Now he's like twelve years old.
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine ninety six, six three sixty nine. When
we come back here it's the Bernie Fratto Show. I'm
Chris Blank sitting in when we come back. I nerd

(02:18:09):
it out on the schedule. And because I spent thirty
minutes calling audio for this and putting it together, you
have to listen to it with me. And there's three
very interesting things that came out of this, including the
NFL admitting a potential mistake involving the Ravens schedule. We'll
dive into it next on Fox Sports Radio. All right,

(02:18:30):
there is one topic that I wanted to get to.
We're gonna run out of time. We're not gonna have
time to get to it, so I want to go
around the horn here, everybody, final, final, final time.

Speaker 2 (02:18:41):
I'm asking for it.

Speaker 3 (02:18:42):
Here tonight, Bernie Fratto's show coming to you live from
the tiraq dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (02:18:47):
Bernie's out. My name is Chris Plankin sitting in. The
whole crew is.

Speaker 3 (02:18:51):
Here though, Ian Roddy, Mark Kevin. So here's my little
spiel in Ian Mark. I don't know if Mark carries
about golf. Hell, Kevin, I don't know if you care
about golf either, but I feel like we all care
about Tiger Woods. So in the midst of the Scottie
Scheffler stuff, one story that got lost was that Tiger

(02:19:13):
Woods missed the cut and he was not well.

Speaker 2 (02:19:17):
He wasn't close.

Speaker 3 (02:19:18):
In fact, he missed the cut by eight strokes, finished
seven under, seven over, excuse me, seven under. We'd be
having a completely different conversation right now. But Woods afterwards
talked about the need to play more. But as somebody
who is a hopeless romantic, that be me that Tiger
Woods still has another major in him, maybe even a

(02:19:40):
couple more tournament wins. I'm starting to get this bad feeling.
And by the way, for all the kids out there,
Michael Jordan as a wizard doesn't fitness category because my
man's still averaging like twenty and played in every single game.
So for this, none of us are old enough to
have seen Willie Mays play with the Mets. But let's
just pretend like we did. But are we seeing Willie

(02:20:04):
may Is in a Mets uniform?

Speaker 17 (02:20:05):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:20:05):
I got a good one for maybe a little bit
of the older and part of the new generation. Emmitt
Smith and a Cardinal uniform see Joe Namath. Arcuse me,
Joe Montana. The Chief's uniform doesn't work because things went
so well for him. Derek Carr in a Saints uniform?

Speaker 5 (02:20:22):
Like, what is this.

Speaker 2 (02:20:26):
Now with Tiger?

Speaker 6 (02:20:27):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (02:20:28):
Is it bordering on ceremonial t shot?

Speaker 4 (02:20:30):
Guy?

Speaker 3 (02:20:31):
Is there still something left in the tank? I saw
it described like this from Gulf Digest, and I wrote
it down. Not definitely done or not definitively done, but
not definitively back.

Speaker 2 (02:20:47):
He needs to play more, but his body won't let him.

Speaker 3 (02:20:52):
So I ask you, Ian, Roddy, is it time to
let go of the Tiger dream that I should have
let go of many moons ago? Or when you say
things like listen, he's not definitively done, he's not back,
But then you also kind of caveat it with oh, yeah,

(02:21:12):
by the way, he needs to play more, but his
body won't let him. That seems to be pretty damning
evidence right there.

Speaker 15 (02:21:18):
Yeah, I think it'd be easier to let go if
there was some up and coming star that kind of
could replace him. And you know, some people like to
say Scheffler, but there've always been these guys who sort
of come and go as is the best golfer in
the world, whereas Tiger was the one who kind of
consistently was that for so.

Speaker 6 (02:21:36):
Long, transcended the game, the kids say, right exactly. So
the fact that there's no one on the horizon. Yeah,
with most sports at least like when Brady retire, we
at least have Mahomes on the horizon, you know, and.

Speaker 3 (02:21:50):
Then when mahomes retires, we have Aid and O'Connell's horizon,
right exactly. Yeah, yeah, the truth, hey O'Connell.

Speaker 15 (02:21:56):
But the point is, I I understand not wanting to
let go of the dream with Tiger, and and it
being the sport of golf, you don't really have to
yet because it's a sport you can play really as
long as you want to, right, and maybe not at
the highest level, and and it kind of pains me
to say it because even I grew up, I grew

(02:22:18):
up watching Tiger Woods be great.

Speaker 2 (02:22:20):
I don't know if he's ever going to get back
to that.

Speaker 15 (02:22:22):
And that's not some hot take, but to me, I
I guess, yes, it's time to let go of the
dream that he can win another major and go back
to what he was. But I don't think we necessarily
have to say goodbye to Tiger forever. I like having
him as a staple of the of the sports. Sure,
I just don't know about these stories. Every time there's
a major just centering around him, it is how he's

(02:22:43):
gonna do it again, because that's.

Speaker 2 (02:22:47):
Right exactly.

Speaker 15 (02:22:49):
It's that that Masters thing was special, and I just
don't know if it's something that can be replicated, especially
after his car accident.

Speaker 3 (02:22:54):
Six hundred and eighty three weeks. It's the number one
golfer in the world. No one's even close. Fifteen majors insane.
I mean, when you say I don't think he'll ever
get back to that, no one's expecting that. I'm with
you on that, But I just I don't want it
to seem like is it politically incorrect to say a

(02:23:17):
charity case where it's like, oh, here here comes Tiger.
This week was very unique because you're not going to
have a tragedy and then the chaos in the zoo
that was Friday morning and into our show Friday night
was Scotti Scheffler.

Speaker 2 (02:23:33):
I mean, guys, that was the whole day. The whole day. Yeah, Kevin,
I'll ask you, do I need to let go of this?
Is it over? Is it ov er over?

Speaker 3 (02:23:42):
As Arnie likes to say, or should I keep pulling
out hope that there's another run in the major?

Speaker 6 (02:23:48):
I personally believe the car accident did it for him.
He had won the Masters, was a twenty nineteen after
what a decade since his last major or so, and
then the car wreck and then the car accident happens
so right before then. Of course, when he won that Masters,
he thought, Okay, maybe he's got a couple left in
the tank. He's a little older, but it seems like

(02:24:08):
he's gotten himself back on track. Won the Masters, and
even if he is who he was as a golfer
in his prime, he could win a tournament or two.
But then that car accident happened, and I mean he
got injured very very severely in that, and I'm impressed
he's even on the golf course at walking again after
what was reportedly a very severe car crash that he

(02:24:31):
was in. So I think the fact that he's out there,
I celebrate the fact that he's out there just because
of what he survived. But I don't look at it
as something in which he is a serious contender really
in any of these majors anymore. I think it's just
he's out there proving to himself that he can at
least still play, even if he isn't really making the
cut anymore. He is still at least playing among the

(02:24:52):
ranks of professional golfers, and I think that's why he's
out there as much as anything. I don't think it's
like a John Daily situation, where he's there straight up
to make a spectacle out of himself and nothing else.

Speaker 24 (02:25:04):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:25:04):
I love that you don't see.

Speaker 3 (02:25:05):
Him riding the golf cart around slugging cores, lights and
burning heaters.

Speaker 6 (02:25:09):
No, I don't think Tiger Woods will ever do that.
I think I'd be all for that, though I would too. Yeah, Mark,
you got to take on this. I always tread like
I don't know if Mark is into a take that
I have, or if he's just done with me because
he's ready to clock out. No, no, no, stop it anyway.
Big fan of Tiger, big fan of golf. I think

(02:25:31):
it's uh. His body won't let him anymore. He has
is in his mind to do it, but his body
won't let him. So let go of the dream until
he can put together a couple of matches where he
does very well and he leads up to something. But
the official dream is gone. We just have to allow

(02:25:54):
him to be the staple of golf and just to
be there. Don't expect too much, just be had that
he can show up, that he can play, and if
he makes a cut, great. If he doesn't, that's because
his body won't allow him to get any better anymore.
That the dream part is gone.

Speaker 3 (02:26:13):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. When we come
back to tyrack dot Com Studios scheduling talk, we're going
in the weeds.

Speaker 2 (02:26:23):
But first for one final time.

Speaker 3 (02:26:25):
Tonight at least on this scal all very radio program,
Kevin Wired with what's trending?

Speaker 6 (02:26:29):
Yeah, The NBA Playoff second Round Playoff series featuring the
Mavericks and Oklahoma City thunder has concluded with the Mavericks
winning it in six games, winning the six game one
to seventeen to one sixteen, largely because of PJ.

Speaker 2 (02:26:42):
Washington.

Speaker 6 (02:26:42):
He had a couple of clutch three pointers in the
final minutes two free throws after being fouled in the
final seconds to give Dallas that one point victor and
advance them to the Western Conference Finals. Luka Dancic did

as Oklahoma City sent packing. And we'll have two playoff

(02:29:14):
to you, all right, thanks a lot, Kevin, have a
great game seven Sunday. We'll talk about Jamal Murray coming
up in just a bit. But I've been promising and
I haven't followed through on a lot of NFL talks.
So this week the schedule was released and on the
on the podcast that Pete Schrager does, he had Mike

(02:29:34):
North on. Now Mike is the He's the guru of
the NFL. Schedule, and one of the things that to
me is most interesting about this year's schedule, it's the
Wednesday games. We have Wednesday Christmas Day games, two of them,
and Mike North talked to Pete Schraeger about how did

(02:29:54):
they make the Christmas Day schedule work? Knowing that somebody
was going to get short at some rest heading down
the home stretch.

Speaker 26 (02:30:03):
The fans have spoken right, think about where Christmas has
been these last what as a two triple headerslea to
the last two years. For the last five years we're
playing on Christmas. The fans are there, you know. Last year,
I'm pretty sure the three games on Christmas averaged something
like twenty seven to twenty eight million viewers. That's monumental numbers.
They're there, they want the games, they expect the games

(02:30:25):
from us. Now, but it's a Wednesday. We'll figure it out. Well,
we figured it out. We play Sunday to Thursday in
this league all the time. Could we play Saturday to Wednesday.
It's really the same thing. It's a couple of short
weeks back to back Sunday Saturday Wednesday. But it's doable.
So early in the process we kind of figured out
a path to how we could get there. The real

(02:30:46):
challenge for us was finding the right teams, because you're
talking about this little round robin between four teams that
all have to play each other, but they all have
to have one home in one road, and they have
to be four teams that we can think we can
count on here in May. They're going to be playoff
relevant and national television worthy seven months from now, like
it's sports.

Speaker 24 (02:31:05):
God only knows, right.

Speaker 26 (02:31:06):
So teams that all play each other one home, one away,
put them on a Saturday and a Wednesday. We kind
of settled in on this AFC North, maybe AFC North
with the team or two. You could throw Philly in there,
you could throw Houston in there, you can throw Kansas
City in there. What's the trickle down effect on the
rest of the broadcast partners if you do take a
couple of Kansas City games out of the mix like this,

(02:31:27):
So we taught the computer put these games in here
to Saturday to Wednesday round robin. Go, but turn them
black college instead of all the pretty colors for all
our broadcast partners like we usually do. Turn them black.
Take them away from everybody. They could go anywhere. Now,
once we thought we could do it. Then Hans Schroeder
and the business team started reaching out to the existing

(02:31:48):
and apparently non existing broadcast partners and hey, who's interested,
And thankfully everybody was a really kind of detailed, drawn
out process and really excited to land on something really historic.
We've never had nobody's ever had a global rights deal
like this, one broadcaster, one sports league, truly global reach.

(02:32:08):
It's gonna be fascinating to see what Netflix could do,
and it's part of the reason we put the games
in the afternoon. By playing at one o'clock Eastern in
the States, now you're in prime time in other countries,
you're not in the overnight.

Speaker 24 (02:32:19):
For some big markets. For US, Oh that's interesting.

Speaker 26 (02:32:22):
The afternoon for US made for a better global opportunity
for Netflix. And then you back up afternoon on Wednesday.
We probably shouldn't be then playing Saturday night. That's a
short week made shorter, so afternoon Wednesday kind of led
to afternoon Saturday, and that's how we kind of backed
into the time slots.

Speaker 24 (02:32:39):
Then which broadcaster we're gonna take them? Yeah, really went
down to the wire.

Speaker 26 (02:32:42):
There are a lot of people interested, and it's gonna
be really fascinating to see how this works.

Speaker 3 (02:32:49):
One other, one other thing here from Mike North actually too. First,
where was the mistake? What mistake do the NFL may
in putting this schedule together?

Speaker 26 (02:33:02):
If in retrospect, maybe asking the Ravens to play on
the road on Christmas two years in a row, maybe
because last year Christmas was at Niners, right, which and
you remember that day like it felt like a Super
Bowl Prome, my gosh, with one seeds and it was
gonna be such a big game and it was gonna
be the culmination of this incredible weekend.

Speaker 24 (02:33:22):
And it didn't turn out to be. It was still
a cool game, it was, but like the Ravens were rolling, right,
you had five Ambers and it's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:33:30):
Let's say, can we have a conversation real quick? I mean,
I don't know why no one invests in a focus right,
but holy smokes, Pete Schrager, you're yelling into your computer
doing a podcast over zoom or whatever recording technology that's it.

Speaker 2 (02:33:47):
You're yelling let the person talk. For goodness sakes, back.

Speaker 4 (02:33:52):
To the cut.

Speaker 24 (02:33:53):
These guys are unstoppable.

Speaker 26 (02:33:55):
Look, Pard and fast rule that you can't play Thanksgiving
and Christmas, no I'm not sure that's.

Speaker 24 (02:33:59):
The thing to do to the players, to their families.

Speaker 26 (02:34:02):
Maybe having both of those games at home wouldn't be
the right thing to do to the fans asking them
to show up on both holidays. But look, if we're
gonna be playing on Christmas now, and you know, we're
playing on Thanksgiving, and we're playing on you know, Black Friday,
and we'll play on New Year's and we'll play on
you know, just about any holiday they'll give us, it's
going to land on the teams that are good.

Speaker 3 (02:34:24):
Finally, why did the Jets get so many primetime games?
And maybe primetime isn't the right word to use, but standalone.

Speaker 24 (02:34:31):
We don't just think about it in terms of primetime.

Speaker 26 (02:34:33):
I know that's a big thing that everybody goes out
there and talks about, but you can't really talk primetime
with out also talking about America's.

Speaker 2 (02:34:40):
Game of the Week on Fox, which is exactly a
bigger rating.

Speaker 24 (02:34:43):
Sometimes, Yeah, you got always, I mean that's our average
highest window.

Speaker 26 (02:34:46):
I think, I mean, I have to have this exactly right,
but I think Fox and CBS both average twenty five
million viewers for that four to twenty five double header window,
and I think the gap between the two of them
was like fifteen thousand viewers when the whole thing fits
those two still.

Speaker 24 (02:35:03):
But that's our window where we get more eyeballs than
any other.

Speaker 26 (02:35:06):
Every now and then you get something pop on a
Sunday night or a Monday night obviously Thanksgiving, Christmas you
see some thirty thirty five million numbers, But average day
to day, week to week cadence of the NFL season,
that's Sunday four twenty five windows really where you get
the most eyeballs, so that should count. You may not
be in prime, but if you're in four twenty five,
that's maybe even a bigger give to the brand, and

(02:35:26):
I mean even bigger indication of what we think you're
gonna be this year.

Speaker 24 (02:35:29):
So here in Sunday afternoons, then you really get a seat.

Speaker 5 (02:35:33):
That's it.

Speaker 16 (02:35:34):
So it's seven standalone games in the first eleven weeks
for the Jets.

Speaker 26 (02:35:39):
Hills man, I mean eron for last year from Aaron
like that. Anybody who thinks the NFL is scripted, I
assure you that was not. It's not the the way
that don't makers threw it up? Are we maybe a
little too all in on the Jets again this year. Look,
if he's healthy and they're relevant, then no, this is
the games that you know, our broadcast partners asked for

(02:35:59):
early season, that our fans want to see. And then
you get to the second half of the season, and
if he is healthy in their playoff relevant, They've got
a really good schedule down the stretch against the Rams,
the Bills, the Dolphins, the Seahawks. Maybe those games move
into flexible scheduling windows or get into a bigger footprint
on a Sunday afternoon. So yeah, maybe a little heavy
on the Jets early, but I think that's a story

(02:36:19):
that everybody's gonna be following this year, and that's what
we're going to do.

Speaker 24 (02:36:22):
We're here to tell the stories.

Speaker 3 (02:36:23):
There you go, there's the inside scoop on the two
big controversies all the Jets focus back to back years
for the Ravens on Christmas. We'll put a rap on
this edition of the Bernie Fratto Show next right here
on Fox Sports Radio. I can't believe this is it
last segment. Thanks for letting me fill in this weekend, guys,

(02:36:46):
Ian Roddy Mark Kevin Wire spend fun for in and
Mark you guys got to be pretty tied with Bernie, right,
I mean two straight days?

Speaker 5 (02:36:56):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (02:36:56):

Speaker 3 (02:37:00):

(02:37:23):
we get off the air.

Speaker 2 (02:37:24):
Okay, two things before we get out.

Speaker 3 (02:37:26):
Number one big story at least from last night leading
over to today, Mark Dagnault challenging the late foul on
Shay Gilgess Alexander led to Oklahoma City not having a
time out so Dallas when basically they made the two
free throws. When they made the two free throws, they

(02:37:48):
were able to miss the third and okay, se couldn't
do anything, so Dagnault he talked about the decision to
use that challenge late.

Speaker 12 (02:37:57):
Oh, I don't have as good of a replay as
there was on TV, so you know, I just you know,
he got ball, you know, and then obviously got arm
as well, you know, I thought he might have gotten
the ball first, and just in that situation, you know,
even without leaving myself a time out, I thought any
chance that we could take points off the board and

(02:38:19):
reverse that call would be worth the risk.

Speaker 22 (02:38:22):
So that's why I went and got it.

Speaker 2 (02:38:24):
Meanwhile, for us, GA, very simple.

Speaker 11 (02:38:26):
We talk about it all your other little things that
go into winning games and being disciplined, and it sucks. Obviously,
if I had the moment back, I went to fold
him and just let him make her miss the shot.

Speaker 4 (02:38:38):
But yeah, basketball, and you win something, you lose some.
You made mistakes.

Speaker 2 (02:38:42):
Let him miss the shot.

Speaker 17 (02:38:45):
Again.

Speaker 3 (02:38:46):
Kyrie Irving got the rebound. Put in a bucket. You
would have been down one regardless. So not here to
point fingers SGA. But as expected, I put a Twitter
pull up an hour one. I realized quite early it
was going to be a disaster because I'm in Oklahoma.
I live in Oklahoma. Most of my followers are Oklahoma peeps.
And the question was I thought a pretty good one.

(02:39:09):
I felt good about this, giving us some content tonight.
You can build around one. Who are you going with,
Anthony Edwards, Lugadancic or Shay Gil just Alexander, A whopping
sixty four percent of you have gone with Shae Gil
Alexander Again. I think that's that's my audience. Meanwhile, you
get a game seven tonight, two of them to be exact,

(02:39:33):
the Afternoon Nicks, Pacers Tonight, Timberwolves, Nuggets. Jamal Murray's the
key last year twenty six points, seven assists, three threes,
shot forty percent for deep, had a forty point game,
thirty four points four different times, triple double in the finals.

Speaker 2 (02:39:51):
He was amazing. He was amazing last year in the
Nuggets run.

Speaker 3 (02:39:56):
But in this postseason, basically he's been the guy beating
the le He has two dramatic game winners, and that's it.
He's averaging just nineteen points per game on twenty shots,
and among the four one hundred and eighty eight individual
postseasons with at least as many three point attempts as

(02:40:16):
Murray has taken in this one, he has ranked four
hundred and seventy eight out of four hundred and eighty
eight individuals in their true shooting percentage. Lost his temper
through the hitting pad or whatever from the bench in
Game two, and he's been battling an injury Jokich is unstoppable, right,

(02:40:36):
the Joker.

Speaker 2 (02:40:38):
But to me, Denver wins this. If Jamal Murray plays
well this postseason, when he has.

Speaker 3 (02:40:45):
A fifteen or more game, fifteen point or more game,
the Nuggets are five and zero. They're two to four
in the other six. You want to beat the Nuggets,
slow down, Jamal Murray can't wait to talk about it
with you tonight. Arnie and I will be back at
ten pm Central Time to recap the day that it was.
But we've got you covered all day long. Have a
great Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
