Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports first and foremost, A happy
Mother's Day to all the moms out there, including my mom,
my wife, everybody who's played that mom.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Role, the grandma's, the whole deal. A big happy Mother's Day.
As we are broadcasting live from the tierrack dot com studios,
ti iraq dot com, we'll help you get there at
unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road as a protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers tirec dot com the
way tire buying should be. You all know that Carrie Rhoades,

(00:33):
despite being an All Pro, is a major major hooped.
And I don't know if yesterday could have gotten any
better for you, considering the Mavericks go up to one,
the Celtics then get back and take the lead in
their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and how you have
relationships throughout the league, but you're kind of a cave

(00:54):
Celtics got because of those relationships. I mean, is there
anything better than what you had to deal with on
Saturday in the NBA Playoffs?

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, the only thing better than that right now is
my mother. So I wanted a happy Mother's Day to
her as well, And this year is a little bit
different for our family. We lost our matriarch a couple
of months ago, and she's she's moved on. But you know,
I want to send love to my whole family, all
my mom's sisters, and you know, you know we can't
take those those women for granted, man. So so that's

(01:22):
number one for him first and foremost. But yes, I
was on the edge of my seat yesterday. And that
Dallas in that Dallas OKAC series. That game yesterday, man,
it was back and forth, a lot of runs, okay,
so he scared me. In the third quarter, Dallas responded
really quickly took the lead. You know that game was
such a physical game yesterday. Man, it was it looked

(01:44):
like a little It gave me flashbacks of football. So
I was even more excited. And Dallas pulled it out.
And then that Boston Cavaliers series, yes, some of christt
Porzingi's guy, he wasn't playing yesterday, but the Tatum and
Brown showed up and the Celtics took a two. You
want to lead that series, So man, it's been It
was a great day yesterday.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Well, best best of your family, first of all, I
hope they get through today and hopefully they can celebrate
all the great memories that. Yeah, and my mom's back
in Wisconsin probably listening to this show, so send my
happy Mother's Day wishes to her and I'll be talking
to her after the show today. That game with Dallas
and Oklahoma City, if it's physical, it's if it's physical

(02:26):
in the middle. Dallas is at an advantage with with
PJ Washington Gafford there, but PJ Washington was such a
such a bright spot for them yesterday, and that's this
is this is where because I don't want to go
over the edge with it, Carrie, I don't want to

(02:46):
because I'm actually very very tempered. I'm actually gonna start
out with the good news instead of the bad news first.
But if you get that, not that you're gonna get
twenty seven points from PJ. Washington every single game. But
there was a point in the second half where I
feel it's different when you're feeding off the energy of
someone like PJ. Washington as opposed to maybe Luca doing

(03:10):
what Luca does. Crowd loves it, the team may get
to be an amazement, but I'm not sure if it
has a more overall effect than it does when someone
like PJ. Washington is getting things going or having that
sort of play, there's a different feel when it isn't
you're superstar doing it, and I felt Dallas really fed
off of that and to be able to be able

(03:32):
to now, you know, after dropping game one, win these
back to back games. If you're getting that sort of
thing from PJ. Washington, it doesn't have to be twenty seven,
you know, I mean it can be eighteen. Then you know,
maybe Luca and Kyrie irving, you know, then pick it
up a little bit. They had twenty two a piece
in the game. That's what makes Dallas so dangerous because

(03:53):
I think there are times where you're thinking, man, this
is it's just a Luca and Kyrie show. But if
Tim Hardaway Junior does get cooked, if PJ. Washington does
what he did from where he did, it's why Dallas
could could make a trip to the NBA Finals. If
you have that sort of production from a player like PJ. Washington.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, it's that that element of unknown for the Mavericks,
if you haven't been following them, is just that they
have players. And so PJ. Washington is one of those
guys that can score. Now his role on that team
has been, you know, a three D type of guy,
but he's a three D type of guy that can
do other things with the ball on the offensive side

(04:32):
of the ball, right, And so I think that you know,
Jason Kidd and his staff has figured out that they're
gonna need that third scorer and not just you know,
the top two and a bunch of role players scoring
when they have the opportunities, like you need another guy
that can take the pressure off of Luke and Kyrie.
And I think seeing this series and seeing the elevation
and not even just this series, the series before with

(04:53):
the Clippers, right, I mean the fact that he was scoring.
I think he was scoring around fifteen that series, and
that's that's really good, right. And so to have that
third guy be somebody that you can count on to
get you buckets and not just standing in the corner
shooting threes, but being able to put the ball on
the floor, getting the post a little bit, change things
up and make that offense look a little different. It

(05:14):
keeps the other it keeps those opponents on their heels.
And so for him to step up the way he has,
it's been a big revelation for everybody. But if you've
seen it. You know he had this capability. So yeah,
it's been fun to see man and Kyle. We got
to give Kyrie a lot of credit here too. I mean,
I know he's been kind of from the outside end. Look,
he looks pedestrian in the first half, but I think
that's part of his game plan is to get those

(05:35):
other guys going and he can turn it on when
he wants to, and he's been doing a good job
of that.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Do you get since he just brought up Kyrie? Yeah, Hey,
I really love Kyrie's game. Yeah, they like really really
love it. And I was on record I think that
in one on one and if you were to play
in a game of one on one, I know he'd
have trouble defending someone like Kevin dur Man, but man,

(06:01):
you would not be able to guard him at all,
you know, like the handles and everything with him like
he is. He is truly great.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Then it just it just depends on who gets the
ball first.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, if they if they put the coin and Kyrie
gets the ball first, he's going to win the game.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
And that's it.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Here's here's my my question, because you brought it up
and it just popped into my mind because I watch
and I love it. And and when when he and
Luca are playing in sync, there is a play in
Oklahoma City. I can't even remember if it was game
one or game two, but you know, Luca just kind
of throws this cross path across court pass and Kyrie

(06:41):
just like catches it and stride and pulls up and
nails him three. And it's yeah, it's poetry in motion.
Do you at all in the back of your head
say I wonder when this is going to go off
the rails?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
No?

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Oh, you don't know. Okay, okay, you don't know, because
I do, and I feel guilty for it, like like
and it's it is nothing to do with it. I
guess it has everything to do with it, you know,
like what what's happened with Kyrie over you know, over
the last you know, five six years and and and
what has gone on even just of of where his

(07:13):
mind is at? Is his mind right? So I have
the sens I do. So I have the sense of
urgency with Dallas of like, all right, the going is
good if you're going to get it, get it now,
but you obviously don't feel that way.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yeah, I'm I'm Uh, I don't think that way in
general about anything, Dan, and so I like, I really
just try my best to appreciate the moment. The moment
is all we have. And I know we're prisoners of
you know, looking ahead and and trying to figure out
what's next, because that's our society. But for me, man,
it's I'm enjoying this moment. I'm I'm so happy for
Kyrie and and the love he's getting right now because

(07:49):
he's been blasted for some things that he said and done,
and some of it's warranted, but some of it's not.
And so I'm just happy for him in this moment. Man,
we're seeing positive images of him and images of you know,
his basketball game. People are appreciating, appreciating that again, but
also appreciating the man. You see him with his family
and his wife and his kids, and just just switch
the narrative a little bit. It's been good to see.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, it's I feel I feel bad comparing him to
my three year old son, who I love with all
my heart. There are times, the absolutely there are times
when I'm like, Okay, I don't want him to see
the dinosaur because then he's gonna want to watch dinosaurs
for the next hour, like I'm glad we're we're playing

(08:31):
outside or we're doing something like that. And with Kyrie,
I just kind of feel the same, Like I feel
like it's focused right now. Got his contract in the
off season. It was only a three year deal. But
at one point does the other you know, does the
other thing all of a sudden say like, oh, okay,
well that's also grabbed my interest. Yeah, it doesn't have
to be bad. It's just like what takes his attention away?

(08:53):
And I just I get that sense. And I and
I know it's weird talking with Dallas up to one, Yeah,
but I just feel like show that the time is now.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
For Dallas number one. What's your kid's favorite dinosaur? Of course,
you know.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
What it is? T Rex?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Oh it's a t rex.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, absolutely, it's Trannosaurus rex.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeap, So like a t rex. Right, He's he's a pretator.
He goes after things in the moment. He doesn't really
worry about what he's gonna eat later. He's worrying about
what he's gonna eat right now when he's hungry. And
I think that's the same with Kyrie, right, I mean,
Kyrie seems and it's not even saying he is. He's
very las of focus, but he's also focused on you
can see it being the best version of a teammate

(09:29):
that he can be. He's doing and saying all the
right things. And right now, I'm, like I said, I'm
not gonna worry about where it's gonna go now. I
think sure, I'm gonna worry about right now in this team.
And he's so good right now, and that team is
firing right now.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
All right. So the Mavericks are up to one on
the Oklahoma City Thunder, and I said that there would
be bad news coming. I want you to listen to this.
It's about twenty five seconds, this exchange with Luka Dacic
and a reporter after yesterday's one oh five to one
oh one win. And it's nothing with Kyrie, and it's
nothing with PJ. Washington falling off, and it's nothing with
Tim Hardaway Junior maybe not stepping up when he needs to.

(10:03):
It's this twenty five second exchange that just has me
so worried. If I'm a Mavericks fan on my team's
chances to win an NBA title this year.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
As you said, you're out there battling, going through a
lot coming off the court, you're clearly laboring what is
what different parts are hurting.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
Everything And the last play I split two defenders. Obviously
nobody touched me as you know, hurt money again, but
just trying to beat it out there. Man, we got
to win this all the metas.

Speaker 6 (10:38):
Oh well, yeah, and that and hurt my knee again
is not what you want to hear if you're a
MAVs fan, and talking about Lugo, who, by the way,
came into the game with knee and ankle injuries.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
You know they listed both of them on the injury report.
So for as great as things are, Kyrie's locked in.
PJ Washington step up. They're back up to one, and
if he's not healthy, it's not gonna happen for Dallas.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah, they've proven in this series they can win when
he's not one hundred percent and they can win when
he's not putting up historic numbers like we're used to.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
So I'm not worried yet.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
I mean, if he's not healthy, obviously as the playoffs continue, yeah,
they won't win it all obviously, But the way he's
playing right now and the way the team's planning right now,
they can get past this series and hopefully they get
a little time, a little time to rest, because they
will have a little break going into the Western Conference
finals if they make it, and hopefully I'm rooting for

(11:34):
a Denver comeback in that Minnesota series, to take that
series a little longer as well, because if he's gonna
need all the time you can get. And that's the
problem with playoffs, right it's every other day at this point.
Unless you get a break, unless you win early, you know,
the team goes a little longer. So we need little help.
And if he's not healthy, we're not gonna win it.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Do you think the do you think the grind? See,
that's what I think, like if Minnesota and I and
I actually still like Minnesota and this year, I know
people Denver's back, I'm not necessarily sure of that. I
don't know where Denver actually entirely was different conversation for
a different segment. Point is is I if you're playing

(12:13):
a series against Minnesota, I know you're not running up
and down like you are with you know, as Luca is,
but it's likely going to be a more physical series,
and I wonder what that toll would would take on him.
I know you got to go game by game, but
just as a whole, if you step back and you
watch it, watch him, he labors a lot, and you

(12:35):
just wonder at one point, at what point is it
going to catch up? And I get like, if you know,
if he's there at eighty five percent, he's probably better
than you know, ninety percent of the NBA or but
it's a it's a different animal with the playoffs, and
I just don't I don't think that they can have
their ultimate success when he is running around the court

(12:55):
battered and bruised and now, as he said, hurt his knee. Again,
that's just the part for me.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, you one hundred percent right, I mean, you're not
gonna win at all with that version of Luca, right.
But again, he's if you watch Dallas play a lot,
which obviously I do, he plays koy a lot, So
I mean, obviously I don't think he is in this situation.
He's really beat up and he's really hurt. But every game,
I mean literally almost every game, he for a moment

(13:21):
in the game he's hobbled or he or he's he's
not one hundred percent right, then he all of a
sudden bounces back and he has forty I just hope
that version of him, like you said, eighty five, eighty five,
ninety percent, Luca, we still have a chance to win
it all. If he doesn't get there, they're in trouble.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
You heard me, You heard me.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
I am not I'm not hiding this at all. Dan,
you heard me.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
You're you're reuning into the Dallas Favericks postgame show a
day after they won here on Fox Sports Radio. You
just carry your roads. I'm Dan Vyer, it is Fox
Sports Sunday. Trust you. There are other other NBA action
going on double dosed, plus the NBA Draft lottery gets
going hit. Carry up at Carrie twenty five roads on
X he can find me at Dan Byer on Fox.

(14:08):
He picks his spots. The pros do it. You know
when to exert yourself, right, You know when to you
know when to be able to take your break, take
your rest, and that's what Lucas trying to do. I
just I just don't see a scenario if he is
this banged up, and I like Dallas's chances. They probably
are the best trade deadline than anybody in the NBA

(14:29):
in acquiring and what they did and to make the
team what they did. But again, it's just all hinges
on your superstar. And that's what that's what makes me
so nervous if I'm a MAVs fan of like, all right, okay,
Kyrie's good. PJ. Washington has now played, you know, really
well in his last two games, and now Lucas still
banged up and maybe not getting better. It's kind of
the I don't know, the wet blanket over a nice

(14:51):
sunny day. But we'll see MAVs up to one. I
guess that's all they care about. Still not counting out
the thunder. Although people are saying now they're looking too young.
I don't necessarily agree with that. Right, hit him up.
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer. We are live from
thee tireq dot Com studios. I mentioned there's NBA action
today and there's one fan base. There's one fan base

(15:12):
that I just think we've all kind of I don't
know I had enough of. We'll explain. He's carry I'm
Dan Next here on Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Hey, I'm Doug Gottlieb.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
The podcast is called All Ball.

Speaker 7 (15:26):
We usually talk all basketball, all the time, but it's
more about the stories about what made these people love
their sport and all the interesting interactions along the way.
We talked to coaches, we talked to players, We tell
you stories.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
You download it, you listen to it.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
I think you like it.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
Listen to All Ball with Doug Gottlieb on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Fox Sports Sunday on a Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day
to all the moms out there. These carry rhoads the
NFLL pro I'm Dan Byer hanging out getting ready for
a busy day in the NBA and actually starts with
the draft lottery at three o'clock Eastern time, and then
after that it's the Nixon Pacers. And there's one thing.

(16:13):
There's this one theme that Carrie I've seen throughout the
NBA playoffs through the first I don't know, first round
and a half or so, and it's just it's never
going to last. It's never going to last because it's
it's it's just not possible. And this theme is how

(16:37):
everybody loves the run of the New York Knicks. Okay,
And there's a reason. There's a reason why I think
people are falling in love with this next team. But
there's a simple reason why they're gonna fall out of
love with this next team. They're falling in love with
this next team because of the play of Jalen Brunson,

(16:58):
what he embodies. It's not one man show. It's these
Nova Knicks and how they perform and clutch situations. And
they've got the garden rocking again. Is that fair?

Speaker 8 (17:12):
Is there?

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Am I leaving anything out? Am I missing anything on
why like this love affair of the New York Knicks
has now come about?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
I mean, you're right, but I also think there's some
a little swaying going on. Obviously with some of the
people that report in different networks. They are avid you
know Nick Nick fans in general, So the agenda's being
pushed out there that way as well.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
That's another with.

Speaker 9 (17:37):
Their name or I'm with even came tiff or or
myth Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I thought rhy the
entire name, but yeah, we got it right, you.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
So yeah, I mean, so that's out there.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
But also I think with this round, the second round,
where it's even gone to another level is also history, right,
I mean the Knicks, you know, the the Pacers in
history have had some really tough and exciting playoff pushes
and runs together in Unison, so that helps. But yeah,
I think Jalen Bronson and the Villanova the Villanova Knicks

(18:14):
have definitely propelled them to a level of exciting basketball.
And those guys have been tough in clutch, and I
think they also represent most of you know, society, right
like tough. They all went and got their stuff like
they It wasn't handed to handed to in one of
those guys, so I think they also relate to that
as well.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
There's a parallel that I'm going to draw to. But
it just it dawned on me. Did because I've only
been to one Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
It was a lot of fun. It was. It was
great to be there and always wondered what the atmosphere
was like. It was about a decade ago. Mellow was
still there at the time, so you had that aspect
of it. Yeah, but it was, it was, It was.
It was really neat to see. I can't imagine how
great it is in the playoffs. Did you take advantage
of your all pronus or you're playing with the New

(19:07):
York Jets to take in any Knicked games in the garden.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
I was court side a couple of times, Dan, And
you know, obviously the people you see, it's always it's
a show.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
I mean, people are there always.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
And I was there doing the Lean years, and so
it wasn't like it was super super exciting, but it's
still it still was a buzz though, it really is.
It's like just just one of those things where it's
almost like going to Yankee Stadium, right, the old Yankee
Stadium where was this It's just a buzz naturally.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I am so glad you mentioned that, because this is
the parallel enjoy liking the Knicks now and enjoying this run,
because that fan base is going to become so annoying
if they continue to advance and do it this way
that it's going to be unbearable. And you mentioned the
New York Yankees, and it reminds me of a seven

(19:59):
years ago. It would be if I do the math correctly,
the Yankees had ended up doing twenty sixteen just wasn't
there wasn't their year twenty seventeen comes along, and what
do you know, this is the new Yankees. There's this
rookie by the name of Aaron Judge that ends up

(20:22):
bursting on the scene. And after a disappointing twenty sixteen campaign,
all of a sudden, the Yankees end up competing in
twenty seventeen. It's a ninety win ball club and it's
not the same old Yankees as it was before. And
in fact, because of the newer blood that they had,

(20:44):
the home grown blood that they had, you felt like, wow,
this is actually refreshing. And I feel that's the case
with the Knicks where this is They've not been great
for a long time. You know. We remember the playoff
series they had with the Hawks and Troy Young and

(21:04):
there was that, but I didn't get a lot of
tracks and they lost in the first round. You know,
a few years back. There hasn't been this Garden and
these Knicks in a long time. But those New York
Yankees had a ninety win season and then immediately went
out and acquired gian Carlos Stanton and everything was done
like that. The next officer or that next season in
twenty eighteen, that that glow, that beaming light of the

(21:29):
New York Yankees and being this. You know what, They're
a different team than those Evil Empire Yankees. Continued to
be the same New York Yankees that you always knew.
And for as much as we love Jalen Brunson and
what the Knicks are doing, if they continue to win,
their fans are going to get louder and louder and
more obnoxious. And we're all going to get more and

(21:51):
more sick of the New York Knicks fans. So enjoy
it while you can, But there is going to be
a point. There is going to be a point where
you're gonna say to yourself kind of over this. You know,
it's a little too much. Maybe they're maybe they're not
my team. Maybe these guys are are too much of
a loud bouse. And I'm not talking about the actual
Knicks players. I'm talking about the actual Knicks fans who

(22:13):
will not shut up. If this team continues to play,
possibly in the June, it's gonna be unbearable. Oh it's
gonna be unbearable, Carrie, if that ends up happening.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Dan, I think, I I think I get you. I
think it's gonna be unbearable if if they keep winning.
But you know what, they're I think I don't even
know if they're gonna get past this round, to be
honest with you, and so I think it could be
over quickly. I don't know if it can continue. The injuries,
the minutes that they're playing. You know, Tom Thibodau has
those guys playing a lot of minutes, and you know,

(22:43):
as we can see, the injuries are starting to starting
to take shape and take form, and this team is
I don't I don't care how hard work and how
tough you are. I mean, when those minutes start to
start to pole up the way they are, it's gonna
be tough to finish and get over that hump. So
I mean, Dan, you may not have to wait too
much longer. I do think the Pacers win today and

(23:04):
even the series, and so we'll see moving forward. But man,
you know what I mean, Spike Lee's having a good
time and now Ben Steeler's tweeting about you know, Jalen
Bronson and Josh Harden. It is a little annoying when
it comes to that, but it's it's a little it's
it's still also fun me being a New Yorker and
being attached to that sure to see it happen.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
You know, Yeah, their injuries are are bound to catch
up with them, but it has been a great story.
And honestly, they were I mean they were. They were
a couple of minutes away from possibly being a cRIO.
And and and no matter what what Indiana could do
to try to come back from a three to zero deficit, Uh,
is just it's not it's not happening in the NBA

(23:44):
playoffs and so so that tells you. But to your point,
I actually agree with you that I think I think
the Pacers are the better team. I even said this
last week. I feel like Indiana is the better team,
but I don't know if they're gonna win the series. Yeah,
and and and it's it's not even about the Knicks,
because I do give the Knicks a lot of credit
for making the plays that they made. There were calls

(24:06):
that went their way, maybe not as many as Rick
Carlisle I although that was the case a kicked ball
and a and a screen ball where yeah, we're quite questionable,
but in the end, New York did end up getting
a two to zero lead. But it's also the point
of if the Knicks are making the plays, is Indiana

(24:30):
making the plays, And I had wondered about that because
you know, there was even there their series that they
played against Milwaukee and Chris Middleton ended up making a
couple of big shots for the Bucks to kind of
keep Milwaukee in, uh, you know, in that game, which
ultimately did go to Indiana after a couple of overtimes,
but it was if Indiana was winning the game outside

(24:52):
of that one, it was by ten points or they
they were, they were comfortable in their win, and I
just wondered if Indiana is mature enough or built enough
to win those close games or to win the games
that they need to. And then them hard hits the
three on Friday Night, and I mean, what a clutch
three that was. But I just Indiana, to me, I

(25:15):
just feel has more of a tendency to make the
wrong play in the moments, even though they're the better team.
I just didn't know if they were gonna be able
to come through in those moments because they seem to
get in their own way at times.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Well, yes, your hundred percent correct, and that's why I
was going next. The Inianda Pacers are front runners. They
really are, and if they get the momentum going and
they're playing fast and they're playing free basketball, and they
get a double digit lead, the game's over in theory.
And that's how they played this year in close games.
For some reason, they they have a problem. And they

(25:49):
shouldn't have a problem when they have an all star
point guard and and Tyreese Halliburton, they shouldn't have that problem,
but they do. And so I don't know, I don't
know what that's about. But yeah, if it's a close game,
I would definitely give the heirs to the Knicks and
Jalen Bronson because obviously we know he's one of the
ultimate winners in our game, right He's won two in

(26:10):
college and and and he's, uh, you can tell he
has that veteran, steady leadership here because I think he's
the best player in the series. So if it's close,
it does favor the Knicks. I think the Pacers have
to come out and win this game by double digits
and in this game right here, to tie this series
to a piece.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
It's the first of two games today, and this popped
into my head, and I don't know, I don't necessarily
know the answer. I think I know the answer, and
I think the answer is no. But this is not
a question paid for by the NBA. Do you think
that the midseason tournament helps Indiana at all during these games?

Speaker 4 (26:47):
No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
I don't. I don't. I don't think so either, you know,
I mean, it's a you know, one and done scenario.
But listen, you know they made a run, yeah, right,
you know they made it to Vegas. They played in
that championship game, if you will, and for what the
NBA tries to hype, I mean, obviously it didn't matter
for the Lakers, right, but I just I just I

(27:10):
just wondered if there was if there was any aspect
of it that we could say, you know what, maybe
maybe this tournament format fits this team. It's it comes
down to matchups, that's it. It obviously does. But I
think that the NBA would want you to believe that, yeah,
the mid season tournament did help Indiana, and this is
you know, this is the reason why you should compete

(27:30):
in November and December and.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Think about this.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Yes, they did make it. They made that run to
get there. It's still the regular season, right. Look at
the level of intensity that's been going on in this
playoffs and even just the way that it's it's been officiated.
It's not even the same. It's not close. Yeah, and
so it doesn't it doesn't matter in this in this uh,
in this instance, that.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Was a really dumb question. But I just but I
thought it would be. I thought at some point, if
Indiana keeps winning, I guarantee it will be brought up somewhere.
I don't think so. And again, it's different in a
one and done scenario. And as he said that, the
format with how it is, is still part of the
regular season. But I just think that the NBA would

(28:11):
like you to believe that the Pacers run does carry
over into the postseason. We'll see today. I'll tell you what,
if the Pacers win today, you're gonna maybe start seeing that,
you know, that side of things gain traction if the
NBA has anything to do with it. All right, he's
carry Roads. I'm dan Byer. Hit him up back carry
twenty five roads. You can find me at dan Byer

(28:33):
on Fox to lay out what today has in store.
Let's head over to the news desk Isaac Lohenkron giving
us the latest of what's happening on this Mother's Day.
Havy Mother's Day to your bride, Isaac and all the
moms in your life. Oh it's going.

Speaker 10 (28:47):
Thank you much appreciated, and indeed, Happy Mother's Day to
my wife, my mom, my grandmother. It reminds me of
the great, the lay great Ralph Kiner, who is known
for the occasional malapropism on the air. He once said,
on Mother's Day, it's mother's day, said all you mothers

(29:08):
out there, Happy birthday. From former Mets announcer. A lot
to unpack there. Speaking of a lot to unpack coming up,
what's also trending something that you have to hear to
believe that happened overnight in the world of boxing. But
indeed we start with the playoffs, both in the NBA
and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The NBA playoff action for

(29:29):
the day tips off at three thirty Eastern with Game
four the Eastern Conference Semi Finals from Indianapolis, with the
Knicks leading the Pacers two games to one. Then at
eight pm Eastern from Minnesota, Game four the Western Conference
Semi Finals, the timberwolve is leading defending champion Denver two
games to one. The Stanley Cup Playoffs face off at
six thirty Eastern time from Boston. The Bruins holding a

(29:50):
two games to one lead over the Florida Panthers in
their Eastern Conference semi finals series. Now we take you
to Perth, Australia and women Boxing and the WBA Women's
Boxing Bantamweight Championship match between reigning champion Nina Hughes and
challenger Chinika Johnson. The fight went the distance, but then

(30:12):
when it was time to announce the winner by decision,
the ring announcer, a gentleman by the name of Lieutenant
Dan Hennessy, announced the wrong winner. So here's what it
sounded like. You're gonna hear him announce the wrong winner.
You're gonna hear the telecast commentary from Joe Tessitor and
Tim Bradley and in the then in the background, Dan

(30:34):
Hennessy announcing the real winner with no hint of regret.
You're not gonna believe this, but listen to it all your.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Winner, Baba Jory decision and.

Speaker 11 (30:45):
Still alongsided scorecard of ninety eight ninety two favors Nina
Hughes and holds a majority decision to go to seven
and zero and retain her world championship on a night

(31:07):
where Janika Johnson seemed like she was in control down
the stretch. And by the way, Knakamura, who had that
ninety eight ninety two scorecard, will be the referee for
Lomachenko five ninety five.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
Kenles goes the competition ninety six ninety four. No Keamora
ninety eight ninety two.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Whoia wer my majority fighting out of the plantara?

Speaker 12 (31:34):
Is this guy?

Speaker 2 (31:35):
For real?

Speaker 11 (31:39):
Is this guy Lieutenant Dan Hennessy?

Speaker 2 (31:42):
For real?

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Get this dude up out of here, man, I mean.

Speaker 12 (31:45):
What are we doing?

Speaker 4 (31:46):
Oh my good, what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (31:49):
What are we doing?

Speaker 10 (31:51):
And the oscar goes to La la land not to
you guys.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Oh wait, he said Lieutenant Dan. So I was already
hooked right there. I was like, lieuten Dan, there's number one.
Maybe through the Hennessy on top of it. It was
a lot, a lot, a lot to take game with
that one. Perhaps exactly if.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
You, by the way, do Google search on lieutenant all
it is is Lieutenant Dan and then Lieutenant Dan Hennessy.
I mean, for obvious reasons, this is great. This is
hey committed to the bit. You gotta sell it right,
even even it wasn't. It wasn't the Steve Harvey of
the hold up. I made a mistake, you know at

(32:29):
the Miss Universe. That was great. Yeah, that's a lot. Yeah.
Test Tour is great at what he does. I I
actually have said this and that to be well, I
don't care. I think Tested Tour should be like the
main guy for ESPN on college football, like the NFL
the Monday night football thing maybe didn't translate as well.

(32:50):
He's so good on college football that it just works
and works so well. Uh in boxing there to have
the presence of mind to be what are doing here?
Great stuff? Great stuff? Oh man, and bring it to
and leave it to Isaac to bring us the latest
from Boss seeing straight from Perth, Australia. By the way,

(33:12):
that fight was is now ancient history. I mean that happened,
you know, happened days ago with.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
The time change.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Yeah, just kidding, all right, He's carry her all, Tom
dan Byer, thank you very much, Isaac Lowingcron. It is
Fox Sports Sunday coming up next. There's another game later
that as you heard Isaac say, Nuggets in Timberwolves do
battle Nuggets right at their wrongs in game three? Is
that a sign of things to come tonight? Something we'll
discuss next year on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday

(33:43):
on a Mother's Day. You're gonna happy Mother's Day to
all the moms. Treat her to some basketball. Right here
you go, here's two and a half hours of Nick Spacers.
You're welcome. It all gets going in three thirty Eastern
time tonight. Nuggets and Timberwolves. Are you buying? Are you
buying stock in the Nuggets? They're back in it that

(34:06):
this series is now in favor of the Denver Nuggets,
and they righted their wrongs and now are on their
way to taking over this series and defending their NBA
title rightfully like the defending NBA champions should. Where are
you on the Denver nuggets sudden resurgence back to greatness?

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (34:30):
I picked Denver to win that that game three, not
in that fashion obviously, but if two to one, I'm
not buying stock in them just yet. If they win
this game today, then that's a different story because they
get home court back, and at that point, you know,
for the Minnesota Minnesota Timberwolve psyche to be up too

(34:50):
oh and lose to two consecutive on your home court
would be a devastating loss for them and in their
in their psyche. But right now, Minnesota Steell in a
driver's seat, they handle the business. Today, they're up three
to one, and that they will win this series. But
if Denver finds a way to win tonight today, well
we got a different story.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Then if we if we switched roles. Yeah, if we
switched roles and let's say say, you know, Denver's up
to one, Minnesota, you know, comes home and wins that
that game three, or even let's just say Minnesota at
home court and lost and came back, do you think
we would look at this series the same way? Like

(35:31):
the question that I have is a are we giving
more credence to Denver because they're the NBA champs and
Minnesota hasn't been to the stage of the playoffs before,
you know, obviously with this group, because it's been twenty
years since they won a playoff series. Do you do
you think it's we're having this we're looking at the

(35:53):
series the same way if we switch the positions of
the two teams.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
I don't know. That's a that's a good question, And I.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Don't think we are. I signed interrupt to ask you
a question, but I just I think that we look
at these labels, and I think we, oh, Denver's the champs.
Here come the champs. Minnesota hasn't done it before, ye,
But it's not like that, like if you look, we're
to look at this series in these three games. I
actually give Minnesota more of a pass for losing Game three.
They probably had every reason to read their clippings in

(36:21):
the headlines. They've started out six and oh sweeping Kevin
Durant and Devin Booker and the Suns. And then they
go to Denver, the toughest place to play in the
NBA probably right now, on the road, and you win
the first two games and you destroy them in game two.
Like that to me, like like the anomaly is Denver

(36:42):
doing what they did to Minnesota in Game three, even
though we didn't expect what Minnesota was gonna gonna do
to Denver. Denver at every reason to be ready for
Game two, and maybe Jamal Murray wasn't entirely healthy, and
you know, it happens when you're throwing things on the floor,
whatever the case may be. It's I feel that we're
such a victim of you know, of of of recency

(37:04):
and and what has happened. But if you really were
to look at this series. Yeah, Denver's got some nice momentum,
but I still like Minnesota in this in this spot,
and I think that the d Wolves have a great
chance to win today because I just don't think that
they were probably set uh to win that Game three.
But I think that they can win Game four tonight.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Oh yeah, I definitely think they can win Game four. Uh,
that's there's no question. I Like I said, I thought
Game three would go to Denver just because I mean,
you know, you you hear about yourself for a couple
of days about how good you are. You're a young team,
obviously confident, but you know, you get, you get, you
get to be a victim of hearing your own you know,
hearing your own praise, and I think that happened for them.

(37:46):
But again, Game four is a different animal. And that's
the thing about the playoffs, right, It's it's game to
game and so again, if Denver finds a way to
win this one, I think we're gonna have a different discussion.
But until then, Minnesota is still in the driver's seed here.
I mean, they're they're they're at home. They got one
the best players in the world, and they got another
All Star that can come out and beat you with

(38:08):
with their play, not just their words. And so I'm
excited for this game. This is gonna be a big one.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
They could also beat you with their defense.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Yes they can.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Not that the Nuggets are gonna score eighty points. Again,
it's not gonna happen. They will, They'll just score probably
twenty or so more after that, Right, it's the it's
just the fact of there's a there's also a different
feel with Minnesota and and and oddly enough, they I
don't know if they had the energy. I don't know
if Denver I don't think with without having Rudy go

(38:36):
Bear in Game two is what I'm talking about is
I don't think it gave Minnesota a huge momentum boost.
And I don't think Denver took Minnesota lightly. Yeah, I'm
sure you could maybe say those things happen. I just
think that Minnesota is a really, really good basketball team.
And and I think that you could see Game three
coming a little bit more than you could have ever
seen Game two. And so I expect Minnesota's and they're

(38:59):
not all young guns. You know, Anthony Edwards is, but
Mike Conley's not Rudy Gobert is not Heck, Karl Anthony
Towns isn't you know, like the so so for them
to to maybe get a dose of reality and player basketball,
I expect the I expect the Timberwolves to win. I
called Denver frauds earlier this week when they were down
to oh I still look at their Their run last
year was so easy. All you had to play, was it.

(39:21):
You got to play two eight seeds and a seventh
seed on your way to an NBA title. And I'm
not saying that it's not a legitimate title. I'm just
saying the path that they had was the easiest we've
ever seen in the NBA. And I just I don't
if Jamal Murray isn't there, I don't know if the
other guys can step up behind Jokic to take on
the roles that they need. That's why I still question Denver,

(39:43):
even though they're the NBA cham So.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
I got a quick question for you, Dan, but I'll
wait on the on the other side of this break.
But there is there is credence of what you're saying.
I just think I just think that you know Denver,
Denver has a heart of the champion and that and
their coach will definitely get that out of them to
come out here and perform in game four. So again,
like I said, I'm excited, but I'll ask you the
question on the other side of the break.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
All right. And they also have the now three time
MVP and Nikola Jokich. He is Carrie Rhoads. Hit him
up at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can find me
at Dan Byer on Fox As we are live from
the tirec dot com studios. Kerry will ask me that question.
Plus easy As one, two, three, four, and it's NFL
schedule release week. We'll talk about it next on Fox.

Speaker 12 (40:22):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (40:34):
All right, We're about twenty minutes or so away from
Easy As one, two, three, four, Carrie Roads in the
hot seat. It's got some great lifelines with Monsey Belanos, Iowa,
Sam is here, Ryan Bershinger. Oh no, I think you've
got an opportunity to get a perfect score of ten today.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
I'm looking to really think, Dan, I'm looking around, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
I'm looking at that face.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Yeah, I think, thank you to help you trust me.
There are no nineteen seventy NFL questions on easy as one, two, three, four.
That comes up in about twenty minutes. In about eight minutes,
it's my eighth annual NBA Draft Lottery rants, which will
actually change this year. It will be different than the
other seven rants that I've had annually on the day

(41:20):
of the NBA Draft Lottery, And believe it or not,
I actually like the NBA Draft Lottery, and for reasons
that I'll explain. But that comes up today, usually a
midweek thing, but now they're doing it on a Sunday today,
so we'll find out who gets the number one overall pick.
And kind of a lackluster draft, if you will, at
least not a lot of huge names that people recognize.

(41:41):
But anyway, someone's gonna get the number one overall pick today.
Plus are the Celtics back and worst Way to get fired?
A lot to get to and then we're gonna wrap
this bad boy up because the NFL schedule comes out
on Wednesday. We got to dive in a little to
that we know who everybody's gonna play. It's just a
matter of when we'll put our heads together and see
if we can figure it out. But you had a

(42:01):
question for me, Yes, Sarry Rhodes, And does it have
to do with the Denver Minnesota series?

Speaker 4 (42:07):
It does? It does.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
So it seems like you're you're a little bit off
of the Denver the Denver train, and you you you
it seems like you felt like that run they had
last year was an easy win, a cakewalk, which is
I agreed with with most of that sentiment. But do
you come into a playoff series and you do you
look at and I think my question for you is,
do you look at it as okay, this team has

(42:30):
been there before. They they know what it takes to get,
you know, through the hurdles and navigate the playoff runs.
Or do you go with the side of that unknown,
where you know these kids can come in and not
be scared and just play basketball and kind of go
with blind faith. Do you do you like either one
more than the other?

Speaker 2 (42:51):
I like I like the former, I like the experience
more and I just I just I think that here
Street plays out and shows that ultimately I think the
better team is going to win. Yes, But if it's close.
I think that experience can really help and so so
I'll leave it if I've got more to add. But

(43:13):
if there's more that you wanted to add, I'll let
you do that before I say what I'm about to say.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
And yes's and that's where I wanted to go with it,
and that's why I said this game is such a
pivotal game, right if it gets the two to two,
I definitely favor Denver winning this series. If Minnesota wins
this one and they go up three to one, I
think this I think what we're talking about right now
really doesn't matter. But if Denver wins this one and
they get the two two, I'm definitely gonna favor the

(43:39):
side of the team that's been there. And so that's
why I was kind of lending this conversation too. But
I think that's will probably answer my part of what
I'm the reason why I was saying that.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
This is what I'm gonna say, and I think it's
If Denver wins today, it is a crippling shot to Minnesota,
and the reason being because of all of the equity
that they built up in winning games one and two
is gone. It's evaporated. Now they could say to themselves, hey,
we've shown that we can win in Denver. But then

(44:12):
I'm sitting at home saying, you won twice, what is
the likelihood that you're gonna win three games in Denwik,
right or you know, whether it be a game five
or a game seven. And so the momentum in that
point I think would be daunting. But the one thing
that I will say about the experience, and I do
think I think this played a role in the first

(44:34):
two games that the sides played was when I mentioned
Denver's run last year, I mentioned they played two eight seeds.
One of those eight seeds were the Minnesota Timberwolves. And
so when your Minnesota, there is actually experience there. Now,

(44:54):
they ended up winning a Game four, they were down
three to zero in the series, and maybe it was
over and maybe Denver gives it to them, but the
Game five was one that was very close. Anthony Edwards
has a chance to force overtime at the end, doesn't happen,
ends up remember through a chair like as you ran
off the court, and you know there was you know

(45:17):
a little bit of controversy there. But Minnesota played with
Denver in that series, and I think that really helped
Minnesota in terms of being like, Okay, we won a
game in that series, and we had an opportunity to
win a game five and it didn't happen for them,
And I think that helps them. And so while Denver

(45:37):
has the experience because they're the NBA champs, even though
Minnesota hasn't been in this spot before, they've played Denver before,
they've played them in a playoff series before, and you
actually may have a bit of a chip on your
shoulder to you know, maybe right or wrong from a
year ago. So I think that all plays in Minnesota's
favor in this series. Aside from the fact I just

(45:59):
think that they're really really good defensively, I do have
questions about others stepping up, and I I love jokicch
is great. Jokich is amazing, And I think Jamal Murray
is really really good. Michael Malone is a heck of
a head. Guilt. Yes, there's a lot of great pieces.
It's the other pieces that that are are underneath that

(46:19):
I just sometimes wonder about. And like, you know, can
Michael Porter Junior carry you? If Jamal Murray is three
for eighteen? You know, is you know Aaron Gordon's Aaron Gordon.
Really they're any problems with Aaron Gordon or what he is.
But do you get enough from from the guard player,
at least from the perimeter to pick up if you're
not getting it from the other the other places that

(46:40):
you're usually getting it from. By the way, you're always
getting it from Yo Kich, you know, I mean except
you know the sixteen point outing. You know that the
that the ahead I believe in in game two, Like,
you're always getting that from from him. So it's just
if if it's not Murray and the game is off,
who else steps up and that that is? I just
wonder about Denver in that scenario.

Speaker 3 (47:02):
Yeah, the other thing about that series you brought up
last year series Minnesota wasn't full strength last year. They
didn't have Daniels in and they didn't have Nazried in either.
Who are two instrumental players in this series obviously in
this playoff run. So I mean we talk about the
more talented team, I think the more talented team is Minnesota.
I just don't I think when you stack up the

(47:23):
top players right in this series, it can go either way.
I mean, I mean, Jokic is one Anthony jo was
is one A. They're close, and then you go to
that next tier Karl Anthony Towns and Jamal Murray. I mean,
the way this series has been so far, Karl Anthony
Towns is better than Jamal Murray at this point. But
I don't put it past Jamal Murray stepping up and

(47:45):
being better than Karl Anthony Towns at this point. So
that's what's gonna swing the series. Obviously, the bench. The
bench in Minnesota, they have more depth, they have more
opportunity to get space as the game goes on. But
top tier players in this in this matchup is pretty even,
and and I think when it comes to being even
that way, I have reservations and I always have about

(48:09):
Karl Anthony Towns. He seems like when he's going, he's
so good, but there seems to be at a point
in most games he does something really stupid, and so
I want to see him mature in in in these
moments and actually play really good basketball all the way throughout.
And I think that's my only reservation with that team.

Speaker 13 (48:30):
He but when he gets going, when he gets doing, yeah,
oh it's so good. Yeah, yes, But it's like he
always has like a little snap fool or something. During it,
he'll he'll do like two silly files to get himself
in bowel trouble, or he'll you know, he'll just he
just does something out of the ordinary, and it's it's
very it's very irritating because he's so good.

Speaker 2 (48:50):
It's it's actually how I look as the Indiana Pacers
as a team, like they just do something like what, yeah,
where that Miles Turder? What are you doing?

Speaker 8 (48:58):
Wait?

Speaker 2 (48:58):
What is Haliburton. That's it's kind of how I view it. Ye,
we talked about the Pacers and X We talked a
lot about the Timberwolves and Nuggets, and we did started
off the show talking about the Mavericks in their win
against the thunder. We did not touch on the Celtics Calves.
I don't know if we need to. I think that
series is overwet. I know that people have questions about Boston. Yeah,

(49:19):
but when Boston is challenged, Yeah, you know, they came
out like gangbusters last night, and granted they didn't put
the Calves away, but it wasn't like the Calves ever
really got back in and I think the closest they
got in the second half was nine, but Tatum had
thirty three, Jalen Brown in twenty eight, Derk White had
a couple of big threes early in that second half.
I just no matter what happens, no matter what happens

(49:40):
with Boston, I just don't think that Cleveland is equipped
to overtake Boston in the series. And I think that's
all we have to say about that.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
Yeah, there's not much to say.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
I do. I agree.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
I think Boston is just I mean, they're going to
win this series. It's just how many games and win
And it's crazy. I guess you get to see you no,
Brown and Tatum after losses, and you know they come
out and play well. I think the person that's planned
the best for them right now is Brown, and you
get to see him. He's he's been such a steady

(50:10):
enforce for those guys. He's becoming more of a leader,
more of a verbal guy. And so, you know, like
you said, this series is over. I don't know what's
wrong with Cleveland, and I don't really know what's wrong
with Darius Garland because I mean, you know, two years
ago he was an All Star and you know we
thought he was gonna, you know, be the second coming
of whoever he was supposed to be, but he has

(50:32):
not reached that level in these playoffs, and he looks
like his confidence is shaken. So if I mean, if
you had an all star version of Garland and the
way Mitchell's been planned, then we could have a different story.
But that Garland hasn't showed up.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
Yeah, Mitchell was a one man's show for a while
in last night's game, and you're gonna need a lot
more to top the Boston Celtics. All right, are you
ready for my eighth annual NBA Draft Lottery? Ramts Man?

Speaker 4 (50:56):
The floor is yours, dad, buyer, do you think?

Speaker 2 (50:58):
So? The draft takes place today and the Detroit Pistons
and Washington Wizards have the best odds to get the
first overall pick fourteen percent. Again, we don't really the
draft is is whatever. The NBA Draft is not what
it once was. But if you have someone like Victor
Wemban Yama, like you did last year, you're gonna pay attention.

(51:19):
And in fact, all of the draft drama I think
last year was basically taking care of in the draft lottery,
just the fact of who was gonna get Victor Webbin Yama.
Now there was a question, all right, does Brandon Miller
go to to Scoot Henderson go to But really it
was about wembin Yama the next star, and he lived
up to all of the expectations.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
Yes he did.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (51:39):
I it thought last year leading into the NBA Draft
lottery that I the one team I did not want
to get Victor wembin Yama was the San Antonio Spurs
because I did not want them to be blessed for
the third time on getting a cornerstone, a generational player,
like they did with David Robinson, like they did later

(52:00):
with Tim Duncan, and then, as it turned out, they
did twenty five some years later with now Victor wembin Yama.
Like it's it is, there's some there's some fruitful. I
don't know there's a magic tree in San Antonio that
just produces, you know, the number one overall pick when
there are great players available in that draft. But it

(52:21):
happened to the San Antonio Spurs. I do tend to
lean on the NBA conspiracy theory that they're like, we
can't mess this up. So he's got to go to
a place where there is stability and a good head
coach so let's send them to San Antonio. I'm all
for those theories because I think that's what makes the
draft lottery. But what doesn't make the draft lottery and

(52:41):
what has bothered me so much and the reason my
rant actually changes this year I'll get to in a second,
But the draft lottery used to be a point where
you would have seven teams and they all had the
exact same chance of getting the number one overall pick.
And you know what that did carry that allows you
to compete in until the end of the year. You

(53:01):
weren't having organizations tanking. I don't think players are out
on the floor missing shots so their team gets a
better draft pick. I don't think that happens. But I
do think that as an organization, you're playing certain guys,
you're making certain moves, whether you're in or you're out,
and I think that that plays a big role. And
when you have a weighted NBA Draft lottery system, it

(53:25):
encourages tanking because there is no penalty. There's actually a
reward for doing worse. And when you look at the
NBA standings this season, and I know that the NBA
doesn't want to call the play in tournament, the playoffs,
So if you didn't make the play in tournament, you
are in the draft lottery. But in all reality, there
were ten teams that didn't make it into the play

(53:47):
in Tournament or the NBA playoffs, five from the East
and five from the West. I would argue that one
of those ten actually had an interest in making it
into the play in tournament, and that was the Houston Rockets.
It was the only team so you had. So you
have nine teams, a third of the league that isn't
really interested in winning basketball games. And I understand that

(54:10):
this happens in other sports, but the reason they aren't
interested is because of the format that you have set
up for your for your bad teams to be able
to get a top pick. So I would love for
us to go back to the way that it once was.
Everybody gets the same shot. And the reason that I
love this format was because I felt that there were teams,

(54:33):
maybe like the Houston Rockets or a team that was
competing for an opportunity where you could take it. Take
a team that was eighth or ninth in the West,
and if you added the number one overall pick to
that franchise, guess what that's good for the league. That's
really good for the league. It's better than having Brandon
Miller playing in Charlotte. Nobody knows what he's doing, you know.

(54:55):
Like that's like if if you were to have a
case like that, where if Victor Wamanyamo was added to
you know, one of these contenders. I mean, my goodness,
if you went to Golden State, you know, like what
what could have happened? I don't know. Golden State wasn't
in the lottery, but I actually felt that like if
you even strengthened kind of the middle of your league
with the first overall pick, that would be better for you.

(55:17):
And that was always my rant about the NBA Draft lottery.
Now the reason that I changed it this year is
because of what is going on. Because I actually think
teams would rather have the opportunity to get a number
one overall pick than actually be the ten seed in
the playoffs right in the plan. I think that they
would rather have that that better chance, that ten percent

(55:38):
chance of getting that number one overall pick than having
to win two road games and then likely going to
be the sacrificial lamb to the top seed in the conference.
That that and that's so that's so that's the only
thing that that that ended up changing. My thought is now,
as if you actually did have an unweighted draft where
everybody had the same exact odds of winning, you would

(55:59):
have have teams that would rather be in the draft
lottery because it's better for their future than actually playing
in the playing tournament.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
That's a great, great point. I mean, like you said,
I mean, imagine imagine Houston Rockets having that guy right
and and and being able to play uh Shin Shin
Gooon and women Yama as your as your forwards and
that in the team around. Man, that would be exciting,
and it would it would eliminate those guys that are

(56:26):
just trying to fully tank because you know, everybody has
the same odds. And so one hundred percent, hundred percent,
hundred percent agree with that, with that, with that rent
and it's it's fun.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
Dallas was on the outside looking in. Yeah last year, right,
you know, like and and I forget if there were
trades and they didn't have the pick, but the point
being they had their pick, and it was you know,
it was like what do you what are you sitting there?
You know, like all of a sudden they get the
number one overall pick. Now you've got yeah, Luca and
Victor women Yama, like and and and guess what they

(56:57):
wouldn't have been. They wouldn't have they were going for something,
or you're trying for something, just like Houston was trying
for something and you don't get penalized for it. They're
winning more games at the end of the year, and
they're losing more of a chance to get the number
one pick like that, you know, like so like that
takes that away. But it's the problem now with the
new shiny toy of the of the play in tournament

(57:18):
and how that's had great success. I think teams now
would be like, well, we don't care as much as
the playing tournament if we've got the same odds. But
I just have always felt that the weighted lottery was
actually causing more problems because it gave organizations more reasons
to tank and because you did want better odds, and
I just don't think that that's good for the league.

Speaker 4 (57:38):
Yeah, no, I agree with you. That's a that's a
great point.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
Programming note. Tune in next year at this time for
my ninth annual NBA Lottery rant, where it will have
most of the same takes unless the NBA changes some
of their rules.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
Let me write that date down right now.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
These Carrier Oads, I'm Dan Byer. Are you ready to
be in the hot seat?

Speaker 4 (57:59):
Carrier Roads, I'm in see right now, I'm all right,
I'm scared. I'm looking at my hil and I'm still scared.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
So we'll see if you can match wits with Carrie Rhodes.
Easy As one two three four is next year on
Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Sunday on a Mother's Day,
sending happy and thank you wishes to all the moms
out there. He's Carrie Rhodes, the NFL All Pro. I'm
Dan Byer, hanging out talking some hoops, but also we

(58:27):
venture into other areas and we're about to time to
strike up the band. Easy As one two three four
as a new time slot here. It is here on
Fox Sports Radio. If you're familiar with the game, great,
If you not, don't worry. I'm going to tell you
how it works. Carrie's in the hot seat. His goal
is to get a perfect score of ten. He has
three lifelines available to him. Manze Milanos at the news desk,

(58:50):
our technical producer Iowa Sam and the show's executive producer
Ryan Berschinger will all be available if Carrie wants to
workshop any of these questions that I give him. They're
basically topics. I give Carrie the options to just pick
a few of the right answers. Don't have to get
all of them, just get some of them. And the
goal is to have a perfect score of ten. And

(59:11):
just ask Manzi. This game is not as easy to
put together as one would think on the surface.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
Yeah, I did so bad. I did so bad.

Speaker 14 (59:19):
I mean, we had fun, but I definitely made up
a game.

Speaker 10 (59:21):
It was not as easy as one, two, three, four.
I mean, I'm something completely different.

Speaker 14 (59:26):
I didn't realize it until we were playing it. I
was like, this isn't right.

Speaker 4 (59:28):
That isn't the right. Okay, that's not the right for mates,
that's not it.

Speaker 2 (59:32):
There, there is a method to the madness. You're over under.
Today is eight and a half. Let's let the madness begin.
Carry Rhoads, all right, name one of two Canadian teams
still alive in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
Oh, we got the Vancouver Canucks.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
And uh, you just need one answer if that wants
to be your final answer.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
Oh, that's the final answer for sure.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
All right, show me the Vancouver Canucks. Yes, there they are,
and they're facing the Edmonton Oilers.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
I was about to say I had another one in
the chamber. I was readily going this one.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
One for one. This is why the over under was
eight and a half. We haven't talked hockey today, but
I'm glad that we were able to get this one going.
And you have all three of your lifelines. How about that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
I'm gonna need them. I'm gonna need them.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Will you need them? Here? When I ask you, Carrie Rhodes,
name two of the three all time leading scores for
the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
Oh, we'll go Lebron James as one and uh whoa, Yeah,
this is where maybe you need a lifeline.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Maybe I don't know. You want to talk it over.

Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
Yeah, let me get a little lifeline here.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Let me go Moncey, she has no no, no security
in her face right now. I'm gonna go to Well,
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go go say. I'm gonna
say you got something for me here?

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Noted calvs fan Iowa Sam Exactly.

Speaker 8 (01:01:07):
I have to go to my well of uh trivia knowledge,
is it?

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Is it? Show me?

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
Is it Austin Carr?

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Could Austin Carr be a possibility? So you got Lebron James,
you want to use Austin cars is one of the
all time leading scores? Or do you have a better name?

Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Think of your can I give?

Speaker 14 (01:01:27):
Can I give advice to carry?

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
Give me advice?

Speaker 14 (01:01:29):
So these are not meant to be hard. Dan is
not trying to stump us. Okay, maybe it's Kyrie Irving.

Speaker 4 (01:01:37):
I mean I would think that too, but I just
didn't know if he was there.

Speaker 14 (01:01:39):
Loanda, No, I just you know, Dan's not trying to
stump us.

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
All right, I'm gonna go Kyrie. I'm gonna say I'm
gonna go on month because I had been in mine,
but I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
And Monty is one correct? There we go there, Well
there's well not with the answer, but that that I
am not trying to stump you or make you look foolish. Right,
It's just sometimes these answers are a bit more revealing
than you would have realized. All right, show me Lebron
James obviously twenty three nineteen points and a Cavs uniform.

(01:02:12):
Is it Kyrie Irving? No? Not a bad guest though,
based on the list, and honestly, the Austin Carr pick
by Sam not a bad pick either, It just wouldn't
have been correct. He's fourth. The other two. You guys
are gonna you guys are gonna kick yourself. Zidrunis got
this second. No, I didn't think. He's scored ten and

(01:02:37):
sixteen points. And Brad Doherty is third, former number one
overall pick. Okay, okay, yeah, got it, but uh yeah,
big z I forget about it, forget about him during
that time. That's all right, Yeah, two of three so
far right. Let's go on to question number three. You know,
I'm a map guy. I love geography. There's a lot
of us out there, Carrie. Name three of the four

(01:02:59):
cities with NBA Playoff teams still alive that are also
state capitals.

Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
That also state capitals.

Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
And this goes back to social studies in grade school.
We got any state capital freaks out there? I don't know.
Maybe Ryan Persinger's one, who knows, But there are four,
There are eight teams alive, four of them actually reside
in state capitals. Give me three of the four.

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Three of the four. I'm definitely gonna go. I'm gonna
go with Ryan here on this. When Ryan looks like
he's studious, he would like he paid attention in social
studies for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
Denver, Well, Denver.

Speaker 8 (01:03:35):
Yet, since we're going with where they reside, yes, I
believe the Timberwolves, then right, if they're in Minneapolis, yes,
if we're going through it's not New York.

Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
It's come on, Ryan, you got too. I know those
two are good, and it's yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
It's where it's where they play, you know, where they're games,
where they play their game.

Speaker 8 (01:04:03):
Suddenly I'm questioning myself as whether or not Boston I
believe it is. And then the only three the Pacers
would be in Indiana and Thennolis. Yes, okay, so what
three do you want to go?

Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
Pacers go to Minnesota, and what's the what's the first
one you said in Denver?

Speaker 4 (01:04:26):
Yeah, we'll take those threes.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
Okay, show me Denver, Yeah, Nuggets absolutely, state capital is
in Denver. Show me Indianapolis, all right? And is it Minneapolis.
There's a reason they call it the Twin Cities, folks.
The state capital is in Saint Paul, the twin city

(01:04:49):
of Minneapolis. Minneapolis. You're gonna kick yourself you're gonna kick yourself. Dallas, No, Boston,
Boston was, and the other Oklahoma City Oah City. Yeah,
Dallas is not state capital in Austin Paul, New York.
Albany is the state capitol of the state of New York.

(01:05:10):
And Columbus is the state capital in Ohio. So Cleveland
would not suffice but two points in that one. It
was hard. I'm not good with you.

Speaker 4 (01:05:22):
I was like, don't Yeah, I was. I was, definitely,
I was. I was barking up there for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
Listen, there are people that are my age that still
think that they know all fifty capitals. Like it's forty
years later, and it's like, no, it's not going to happen.
My wife did this to me. She goes, I know
all the state capitals. I asked her the first state
and she didn't get it right. This exercise ended quickly. Yeah,

(01:05:52):
all right, let's uh. She got a bunch of others.
It's a mother's day.

Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
I was just I was just about to say win.
Don't win the fight here to win the war. There's
a war happening later. Don't win the fight.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
This is the best? All right? Final question name four
of five NBA teams that have won the NBA Draft
Lottery the most times. It's funny, I have my draft
lottery rant. I think I've brought this question up a
couple of times in easy as one, two, three, four,
Name four of the five NBA teams that have won

(01:06:27):
the draft lottery the most Now, carry this doesn't go
back to nineteen fifty five. The NBA Draft Lottery started
in the mid eighties, so you only have to go
back that far. But what teams have won the NBA
Draft Lottery the most times? And also, just to clarify,
if they trade the pick, they still get credit for it,

(01:06:49):
so it's not trading for the pick yet.

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
Let's let's go Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
Okay, and you can use any of the lifelines if
you want. If anybody wants to chime in, go rett it.

Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
Let's go Cleveland, Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
I wants to chime in.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
I think Spurs as well. I think Cleveland Clippers. I
don't think. I don't think so, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
Maybe we do.

Speaker 14 (01:07:17):
We have sucked a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
Yeah, i'd definitely say Cleveland, San Antonio. What about Detroit
and uh stairs, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, And let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
This. These answers are the lottery like, it's like a
one and thirty.

Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
Chance and let's go. Man, I need a lifeline, Sam,
you got one for me?

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Here?

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
I think those three decent?

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Orlando? I don't know. I don't. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
You don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
I really don't.

Speaker 4 (01:07:50):
What do you guys? Give me one more? No, I
don't like that one either, Maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Dan, okay, just give me you got I got those
three in my mind, Calves, Yeah, Spurs.

Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
What was the third one?

Speaker 4 (01:08:07):
I don't remember, Yes, I said, Detroit the Pistons. Pistons,
said the Pistons.

Speaker 14 (01:08:13):
Maybe, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
Do you want to go with the magic?

Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
I mean, you seem like you want me to, So yeah,
I'll go. I'll go magic to Let's go those four.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
Show me the Orlando Magic for the sake of the.

Speaker 4 (01:08:38):
Time, exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Show me the Cleveland Cavaliers, Yes, they're they're on this list.
Show me the San Antonio.

Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
Spurs, Yes, sir, all right, here we go. Give me
this last one, baby, give me this last one.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
And is it the Detroit Pistons. Oh no, close.

Speaker 4 (01:09:02):
I almost got that one. Who is it? Who you got?

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Dan? The l A Clippers have won the draft lottery.
The most times of any team? Are you kidding? Are
you kidding? Five times five?

Speaker 4 (01:09:16):
Who were those five pick?

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Do you know?

Speaker 4 (01:09:18):
Blake Elton Brand?

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Was he? The one?

Speaker 14 (01:09:21):
He may have been?

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
The one was.

Speaker 8 (01:09:22):
Derrius Miles, the one Darious Michael Olowa Candy okay.

Speaker 2 (01:09:29):
Was was the first overall pick? Yeah? Blake Griffin was
uh Elton Brand was? Was it Elton Brand?

Speaker 4 (01:09:38):
Elton Brand was Seawan libethon one?

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
No, gosh, you know what. I'm sitting here looking at
the I just had the draft lottery page up, but
they had them. They had the five most five and
then it was Orlando with four. So Orlando remember a
couple of years ago at Paolo ben Carro, they ended

(01:10:01):
up winning it back to back years Sack and Penny,
Shack and Penny. But yeah, so the Clippers Olo Candy
in ninety eight. It was actually the Bulls won Elton
Brand in nineteen ninety nine. The Clippers went it with
Danny Manning in nineteen ninety eight. Nineteen eighty six, they
actually traded the pick to Cleveland for Brad Doherty. You
had Blake Griffin there as well, and the Clippers actually

(01:10:24):
landed it in twenty eleven, But that was traded to
Cleveland because of a trade where they picked Kyrie Irving.
So there it was Manzi's point of we sucked a
lot was very very appipile, and that's what put Cleveland
atop the atop the list. Catchy in Orlando also had

(01:10:49):
it for Dwight Howard. So like number one overall pick,
they've cashed in. Yeah, you know, they drafted Chris Weber
and then the draft they trade uh with Penny Hardway
to bring him in. But uh but yeah, so Orlando
is cashed in when they've had number one. It was Clippers, Magic, Cavs,
Spurs and the new Jersey slash Brooklyn Nets five answers

(01:11:10):
that were available.

Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
Wow, Orlando really did cash in, didn't they? And all
their all their ones. That's pretty pretty impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Absolutely. All right, let's manti give us the latest of
what is going on today. Still a nice showing seven
points carry out. Yeah, yeah, they were a little a
little hard for me.

Speaker 4 (01:11:26):
Yeah, I'm not trying to stop you carry but.

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
I thought no capitals. I'm sorry. I just figured that
somebody would love geography as much as I did.

Speaker 14 (01:11:35):
Yeah, somebody did, so at least one of them to give.

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
Me all of the correct answers. You just had to
give me some of them. That's all I'm asking for.

Speaker 14 (01:11:43):
Yeah, so good, so good. Uh, there's a lot going
on today, fellas. It just hasn't started, but it will
start soon everywhere. We have a full slate of baseball games.
The Dodgers will be without show Hao Tani today. He
experienced lower back tightness during last night's win at Petco Park,
so Will Smith will DH instead against the Padres. The

(01:12:06):
Wells Fargo Championship, the final round is underway. Xandrew Schoffley
and Rory McElroy are gonna tee off any second. Now.

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
We've got hockey going on.

Speaker 14 (01:12:15):
The playoffs continue, but Bruins will be without their captain,
Brad Marshand for Game four against the Panthers. He left
Game three after two periods with an upper body injury.
Florida does lead that series two to one, that's at
six thirty. Then the Cannucks and the Oilers, it's Game
three between them, a series that's tied at one apiece.
But everything starts in the NBA with the draft lottery

(01:12:37):
at three pm Eastern time, and then we got a
pair of game fours Indiana and the Knicks, you know,
trying to even the series there for the Pacers, Timberwolves
try to even the series. After that at home against
the defending champion Nuggets. That game is at eight pm
Eastern TIMEA to you, guys, what.

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Do you got carry? Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:13:00):
Oh yeah, where's it?

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
Yeah? Sam? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
Sam, you know he's lost all the yeas.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
When you mentioned Nelton brand it didn't hit my ear right,
So I'm like, what was it? I couldn't remember, but
it totally you know, I knew that I didn't think
he was drafted by the Clippers, but that he was
then and it was correct as he was drafted by
the Bulls. But that was part of the Eddie Curry
Tyson Chandler sort of either trade that they had a

(01:13:29):
couple of years later. Yeah. Yeah, but just looking there,
it is there. It is now. Everybody say, yeah, the
Nets were on the list. The Nets had Derrick Coleman
in nineteen nineteen ninety it was, and then they had
Kenyan Martin in two thousand and then you had Brooklyn

(01:13:49):
end up trading the pick to the Celtics in twenty seventeen,
which in the Celtics traded to the Sixers and they
took Mark el fold, so there's just some of the
history behind some of the team in the draft lottery.
All right, He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. We continue
to have fun and the crew is gonna hang out
as well, because we are gonna tell you what the
NFL schedule will look like before it even comes out

(01:14:11):
on Wednesday. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. That's next
year on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday on a
Mother's Day. Coming up on Wednesday, the NFL schedule will
be released. As a former player, He's carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. We're a lot from the tirec dot Com studios.
As a former player, when you look back, did you
get excited about schedule release day or when the schedule

(01:14:33):
would come out or didn't you really care? No?

Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
I was usually away on some vacation, so I was
definitely not tuned in to the schedule at that point,
So no, we don't look forward to it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
There you are in Tahiti, somebora bora in one of
those huts on the water in the middle of nowhere. Yes,
and you're like, oh, okay, all right, I guess we
have New England.

Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
We play Cleveland Week two. No, I'm not was not
excited about those things at all.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
It's better than Week seventeen in Cleveland. I will see that,
all right. So the NFL schedule comes out on Wednesday.
Here at Fox Sports Sunday, myself carry RHADS with the
help of Ryan Pershing or Iowa Sam and Montsi Bilanios,
let's make some NFL schedule predictions, shall we? All right,
I've got we know who everybody's going to play, we

(01:15:21):
just don't know when. We know where. For the most part. Heck,
we know that the Packers and Eagles are going to
play in Week one in Brazil on Friday night of
the opening week of the NFL season, So we already
know like one of the games, and I expect us
to get some leaks throughout the next couple of days

(01:15:41):
on who's going to be playing the opener, who's going
to be playing on Thanksgiving, who's going to be playing
in these London games. So let's start it out. Are
you all ready to throw your two cents in on this?
The Kansas City Chiefs, we expect to host the kickoff
opener in Kansas City. Now there are eight options for
them to play in that opener if they do open

(01:16:02):
at home? Yeah, Denver, the Chargers, the Raiders, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Houston, Tampa,
and New Orleans. All right, guys, who are we going
to settle on for the Chiefs to play in the
opener on Thursday night?

Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
That first game is definitely going to be the Chiefs
and the Ravens. That's not even I don't think that.
I don't think there's a question there. I mean, the
draw for that game would be huge. Homes Jackson would
be a big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
You guys, have you have any problems with that first?

Speaker 8 (01:16:32):
That feels like a slam dunk? I will say a
couple of dark horses, maybe Houston or the Chargers just
because of.

Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
Yeah, yeah, you know last year we were kind of
caught off guard by Detroit being that team. But I
you know what, I'm gonna go carry because he's had it,
said it with such conviction.

Speaker 14 (01:16:52):
Yeah, it's the logical answer.

Speaker 4 (01:16:54):
Yes, And I may have a little into I do not.
I'm joking. I'm joking. No, I do not. I don't.
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
All right, cowboys will be at the forty nine ers.
When do we see this game? Do we see it
on a Sunday night. Do we see it on a
Sunday afternoon? Do we see it on a Monday night?
I get the sense that this Cowboys Niners matchup is
a nice Week five like it like they don't want
it too late in the season because they couldn't play
in the playoffs. You want to, you know, like farther

(01:17:23):
awaway from that, But they seemed to. I think last
year they played around Week five Week six, where whether
you know, it was a nice night in San Francisco
when they ended up playing, well, it was nice for
the forty nine Ers because they kicked the crap out
of Dallas, right, But what we're Cowboys Niners. I'm saying
Week five Sunday night football. What do you guys think
about that? Are you guys good with that?

Speaker 4 (01:17:45):
I'm good with that.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
It'll definitely be a Sunday not a Monday, because of
the tradition, the classical forty nine Ers Cowboys RIVALI I
think it'll be good for Sunday night, but I'd also
see it being Sunday at at one as well, so
it's one specific standard time, so I could see it
there too.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Or daylight. If we don't change our clocks just yet.
I'm going with Week five seven at football. We'll check
back next week on our on our on our matchups.
All right, Falcons at Vikings, Kirks possible return to Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
I'm already nervous. That's a Sunday, that's a Sunday night
game for sure, that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
Would be like you think, Sunday night, I do?

Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
I do, just from the storylines alone, I do.

Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
Yeah, what do you think I thought?

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Monday Night? Like it's a nice matchup, but it's not
like great enough where we're like, well, I just give
it the ESPN, you know, like they'll they'll they'll do
that first Manzi I was saying, you guys have any
thoughts on Kirk Cousins return to Minnesota.

Speaker 8 (01:18:48):
That does feel like an early season prime time probably
because you want to make sure, especially that Kirk is
going to play.

Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
Yeah, but it can't be too early because what about
if he's not ready?

Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
Well, the word out is that he's full goal for
camps right now, so I think he'll be ready.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
All right, So where do you want it? First? I'll
give you the take on this.

Speaker 8 (01:19:09):
Let's do like a like a week four Monday Night.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Week four Monday night football. We think we're gonna get
Falcons Vikings. You're not gonna like this, Monsei, Carolina at Washington,
the two worst teams in the NFL. Where Well, this
may be on at six am somewhere. Oh yeah, you
know we're not. We get the London games at six am.

(01:19:33):
This may be at two am. No Carolina at Washington.
This is definitely a one o'clock Eastern timekick. There was
no doubt about that. On a Sunday. What week are
we seeing Panthers Commanders.

Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
I don't know about the week, but that's definitely a
blackout game for sure. I don't think too many people
will be tuned in, so I don't know. Yeah, that's
what do you.

Speaker 14 (01:19:53):
Think, mons, It's gonna be like late in the season
and nobody's gonna care.

Speaker 8 (01:19:57):
I'll give you, oh sorry, quickly differently different take. They
put that on a Thursday night, week ten, because we'll
take anything at that point.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
Watch it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
That makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
All right, We're gonna put it week ten and we'll
just leave it at that. Guys, It's been fun, Carrie,
best to you and everyone. Happy Mother's Day to all
the moms out there.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
Happy Day.
