Speaker 1 (00:04):
Count them up one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
Not three, not five, not six, not saving That's right.
And when I say that, I really believe it. Yeah,
I believe there are eight games kicking off right now.
And Coach Rob Ryan, if Aliens landed on Earth and
you wanted to show them the NFL, I would give

(00:26):
them this week. I mean, on paper, this is the
best we've had to date, no question, this is gonna
separate the pretenders and the contenders. I mean, this is,
uh what a great week. Uh not only the early games,
but those late games are fantastic as well. Yeah, five
games coming up later today one o'clock Pacific time. Kick
for games like these Seahawks and Jaguars and the Eagles

(00:47):
and the Rams. We'll get into counting you down and
previewing those as we follow along the eight that are
kicking off now. Among those kicking off now, UM, I
think one of the big stories that I really want
to see right now is in New York. And it's
not about Eli Manning going back as the starter. I
know what Eli Manning looks like as a quarterback. But
in talking to you for the last handful of months,

(01:09):
one thing I've really learned is that Shawn Lee makes
a difference on the football field. And so Dallas at
six and six, the Packers as well, they're basically playing
playoff games right now. They've got to win out. Go
ten and six, keep fingers cross, hope for some help,
all of those things. So Dallas has to win this one.
Shawn Lee is back. Give us an idea of what

(01:29):
kind of difference that makes. Well, that that's a huge,
huge difference for Dallas. I mean he calls all the defenses,
he does all the checks. The communication will be so
much more improved. And now they just get the focus
on and playing football because they know the guy's gonna
get him in the right defense. The big thing is
they are missing that big Irvan kid, the big d
tackle and Scandrick who's really good slot corner. But uh,

(01:52):
talking about a must win, they have to have it
in and like you say, ten and six may not
get it done this year. I mean you look at
the standings right and out, and I would have to
say probably not. I mean, this is what the Packers
and the Cowboys are are are trying to pull off.
The Lions as well. These teams are six and six.
If they went out and go ten and six. They're

(02:12):
still gonna have to keep their fingers crossed because right now,
the Falcons that went over the Saints on Thursday night
was bad news for wild card chasers. And the Panthers
and Seahawks both have big time matchups today. Um, and
if they win them, they've already got nine wins. I mean,
you're gonna need the Panthers and Seahawks to start losing. However,
the good news is today's a day where they both

(02:33):
could Panthers and Vikings another game kicking off right now.
The Seahawks have that road test later today in Jacksonville. Yeah, no,
that's gonna that's gonna be a great test. I mean,
you're exactly right. These teams get to nine wins with
three to go, I mean, surely they're gonna end up
being maybe better than ten and six, probably better in
tenant six, and then all those teams just fall off

(02:55):
the map. Like there's a ton of them that are
playing really good football. But you know, at the end
of the day, ten and six may not get it
done this well. And as a guy with no dog
in the fight, when you talk about any of these
particular teams, were talking about. I would love to see
Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs. I root for that every year, well,
at hest the best player in the league. I mean,
you know, the big thing is what if? What if

(03:15):
it gets to be one of those things where you
bring them back and they still can't get in and
he still finished in a six. You know, you're you're
risking you know, the shoulder and everything like that. But uh,
you know, if they get by the Browns today, then
I think they're gonna go for it. And with Rogers, Shoot,
who would it take the Packers with a Rodgers? By
the way, I'm not a hund percent sure they do

(03:36):
get by the Browns today. I know we're conditioned to
the idea of whoever is playing the Browns wins a
football game. But remember it was about this time of
year last year where a home game in Cleveland and
a team that was a little wobbly and a number
of different directions came to town. It was the San
Diego Chargers at the time, and the Browns pulled out
a victory. You know, your home, it's it's late in

(03:57):
the season. You've got to I know, Brett Honley is
starting to do some things here and there. But you
got a backup quarterback coming into town, a very wounded
football team. Uh. To me this this is a little
bit of a toss up today. I think it is
too and and you're right. I mean there's only been
a couple of teams ever not win a game, and
really that's what they're facing now. They had the big
change of the general manager. They fire him, they they

(04:19):
keep Hugh Jackson, so uh, you know, I think people
are gonna pay attention more to him because he's gonna
be there next year. And if they want to be
next year, they've got to, uh, you know, start winning
games and execute the coaches playing. So uh, that game
is gonna be bigger than I think the Packer fans
wanted to be. Uh. Jimmy Garoppolo's opening drive in Houston

(04:41):
today goes pretty quickly three and out. The forty Niners
punted away, so Houston coming out on offense, We're also
looking at uh Carolina and Minnesota. What what did you
just see on this play? And just so an interception there.
He tried to go deep at the feeling and uh
and makes the play. Great play by the corner, high
pointed and think that's gotta come back and make that play.

(05:02):
Knocked the ball down so they can keep possession of football.
But that's a big turnover start the game. Yep. So
Case Keenum already with an interception, and I know there
are a lot of people still wondering this, and we've
talked a lot about it the last three weeks. It's
like Case Keenum is absolutely done enough. Uh to uh
to warrant being the starting quarterback for the rest of
the way. You're not gonna go to Teddy Bridgewater now. However,

(05:24):
there are questions when you think about December football and
January football and really good opponents. I know he's beating
some good opponents already, be Atlanta on the road just
last week. But at the same time, you know, what
what differences are is he now facing as we get
to December, as we get to the playoffs and whatnot,
big games? What's different for Case Keenom coming up? Well,

(05:47):
I mean, I think he's got to just play the
exact same way he's played all season. I mean, you know, uh,
like you say, he has played in some big games
already and one so uh you know, I think I
think he'll do a good job I know right there,
goes deep and gets picked. But look, he's he's a
really a hard sack, which is a great thing. And
to play you don't take the negative plays. You've got

(06:07):
a chance to keep moving the stix. You have a
great running attack and obviously the best defense in the league.
So as long as he doesn't turn the ball over,
I think that they're gonna stay with him and uh,
you know, and have success, and I think they'll be
a tough out. Uh, this game is gonna be huge
because if they can get home field advantage and really
be an advantage in Minnesota. Absolutely, another game we're watching

(06:30):
right now, Chiefs Raiders, two of the three six and
six teams atop the a f C. West. I threw
out a question to you a second ago, and I
don't know that either one of us have the right
answer yet. If you're the Chargers and they host the
Redskins later today, and I loosely use the term host
whenever we're talking about the Chargers, but they are technically
the home team the game will be played in Los Angeles,

(06:51):
who are you rooting for to win this game today
between the Chiefs and the Raiders? In other words, who
is it you want to catch? Yeah, I think or
stay with the work since they play both teams of
the years, so that's uh so, I don't know. I
think maybe they're just gonna be spectators and find it.
Let it chips fall where they may. But I think,
you know, the one thing is the sleeping dog is

(07:11):
the Raiders. If you think about it, they had all
that talent on offense. I know they've been banged up
and suspended and all kinds of crazy stuff. But if
they can get their act together right now to try
to win this division, this would be their third win
in a role if they could be Kansas City. Now
they get on a roll, they're feeling better about themselves.
They got John Pogano now defensive coordinator after they let

(07:34):
h Norton go. Uh So they've had success doing that
and they believe in them. And there's another sack for
I mean, you know, so, uh they could be getting
hot at the right time, Alex Smith, where they twenty
yard run moments, they're gonna get Kansas City into scoring
territory inside the thirty. But as you just mentioned, coach
on the first down play, he gets sacked for a
loss of about five yards, So it'll be second and

(07:55):
long coming up. About the radar thirty five, this is
the Chiefs opening drive. Um. You know, you talk about
a team starting to maybe get its flow, get its
vibe back. I feel like the Chiefs are are are
potentially ready to do that too. They went through that
really weird stretch where even though uh they didn't win
last week, at least they were scoring some points on offense,
that offense had gotten to be just absolutely dreadful. Alex

(08:18):
Smith was hearing whispers last week he was huge, put
up a ton of points. Uh. The defense, however, was
the problem with the Jets. So it's kind of been um,
if it's not one thing, it's another for Kansas City, right,
And and it's been all bad lately. I mean, what's
seven seven of eight, I believe, uh, you know, and
that's just you know, after that crazy great start and

(08:38):
you know, thirty eight points, I mean, you know whatever
it was last week. You know, over thirty points, you're
supposed to win those games. But you know, the defense
has struggled. And now Peters isn't playing either for disciplinary reasons.
I mean that's uh, you know, that's a huge blow.
And and you know again they're kind of going down
backwards with their defense, but it was encouraging to see

(09:00):
the new play caller Nagy do a good job with
Kansas City's offense. So third and sixteen right now from
the thirty six important for them to at least get
a few yards to maybe set up a better field
goal shot. They'll only get a couple as Alex Smith
is gonna scramble, he'll slide down just inside the thirty
five yard line, So probably about a fifty three maybe
fifty two yard field goal attempt for Harrison. Butker is

(09:23):
what's coming up. Meantime, Carolina has just scored a touchdown
Jonathan Stewart from sixty eight yards. Uh, he bust one loose.
And this start could not be worse for the Minnesota
Vikings on the road. I had a feeling this was
gonna be a tough spot for them today. Uh this one, Uh,
you know, on the road at this time, Carolina probably

(09:45):
needing it a little bit more than Minnesota. This is tough,
right and it's a third and one in Carolina puts
their goal line offense in, so three tight ends and
the two backs, and that's a hard thing to defend
in the field and obviously the Vikings didn't do it
very well. Both linebackers fast flowed. He cut it back
a little bit with sixty eight yards for a touchdown.

(10:05):
That's a huge start for Carolina at their play. Extra
point is good, but a flag so they're gonna have
to kick it again. Field goal. Good for the Chiefs.
Texans with an opening drive field goal as well. And
let's take a look at the Cowboys, who were wearing
the dark blues today. Coach, They've got the ball in
the red zone on their opening drive against the New
York Giants. I think this is a really important drive
here because we talked about Shawn Lee getting back. That's great,

(10:29):
but the offense needs to show some things as well.
The Ezekiel Elliott absence continues, and all of a sudden,
there's been a lot of questions about Dak Prescott and
who he actually is as a player. He's got him
on the move right now, second and one at the
six yard line. But what have you seen in his
play the last month or so? Well, I mean, he struggled,
but I thought he did a little bit better last week.
But the key was at Morse. They finally gave him

(10:49):
the football and he's getting about eight yards of carriers
last week, and but he had been averaging five yards
of carry. So they they got a feature the running game,
and that will take pressure off of everybody, uh including
Dak Prescott because uh, look, he doesn't have the big
play receivers like you know, Dez isn't running like he
used to, and these guys, you know, aren't getting down

(11:11):
the field vertically, So uh, you gotta have that running
game going. And and Morris gave you know, he's already
got twenty three yards rushing today and uh, you know,
he looks good. He's they just gotta keep feeding him.
And uh, you know down here in the red zone,
they're one of the top red zone offenses in football.
So they're looking to score for sure. All Right, we
already talked about how it might be a hard day

(11:31):
for the Packers. They're not showing it so far. Opening
drive touchdown for them in Cleveland seven to nothing is
the score. Brett Huntley hits Jamal Williams for a thirty
yards score. This is the other rookie running back for
the Packers who's basically taken over the backfield in the
absence of time Montgomery and Aaron Jones was out for
a while. Jones is now back, but not fully getting

(11:52):
the majority of the carries. Nice opening drive for Williams
who had nine yards on the ground, and then the
thirty yard catch for a score. So seven nothing hackers,
As that one's gotten started. We told you field goals
for Houston and Kansas City and the touchdown for Carolina
and Dallas knocking on the door, second and goal Dac
throws and that one's gonna be incomplete. So a third

(12:13):
and goal play coming up for Dallas in New York
will give you the answer on that in just a moment.
Week four teens here with Rob Ryan, Mark Willard, Red
Zone Radio. All right, what does it mean when Geico
says he's fifteen minutes could save you fifteen for center
more on car insurance. Probably should have gone to Geico
dot com fifteen minutes ago. Jimmy Garoppolo intercepted by the
Houston Texans, who lead the forty Niners early three to nothing.

(12:35):
Jordan Howard a touchdown runs seven nothing Bears at Cincinnati.
Theoretic a touchdown runs seven nothing Lions at Tampa Bay
and the Raiders have stalled again, the Chiefs about to
come back on offense. The Cleveland Browns have scored even
things up with the Packers, and guess who coach Josh Gordon.

(12:56):
Welcome back to the NFL Week two first touchdown. Good
to see that. I'm rooting for that guy. Yeah, just
you know, stay out of it and stay clean and
just keep kicking Footbayer. Yeah, stay out of the off
the field stuff. Stay in the end zone and everything
will be fine. Darryl Johnston now joins US Live along
with Chris Myers and Laurel Oakman. Later today on Fox

(13:18):
will be part of the broadcast for a game that
I am wildly curious to see, the Seahawks at the Jaguars. Darryl,
thanks for coming on. This Jaguars defense has certainly made
a name for itself. It hasn't gone against a lot
of elite offenses so far this year. I do remember
the Steelers game, but do you think they're ready for this.

(13:39):
We're gonna find out. We're gonna find out. And I
really think it was that Steelers game where they kind
of got a little bit of the swagger that they've
had here for the last month or so because when
you watched him through the first quarter of the season,
those first four games, they were very inconsistent, and then
all of a sudden after that Pittsburgh game, the confidence
kind of shot up, and they've been playing really well,
uh since that day the weekness. They're still having a

(14:01):
little bit of trouble with the running game, but can
Seattle take advantage of that this afternoon? That that's the
big question that I think is out there right now. Yeah,
I mean, uh Moosus Rob Ryan that uh the Seahawks.
I mean with Russell Wilson, I know he's so elusive,
but he's still been sacked just about leading the league
in sacks like he usually does. And he's going to

(14:22):
get Jacksonville, who who leads the league in sacks? I mean,
this is gonna be crazy. But as great as Russell
Wilson is and and how about him last week, I
mean this this game is gonna be huge for either team.
If if the Seahawks can go into Jacksonville get a
win here, look out because uh, that offense is playing
surprisingly really well. Yeah, that time a year again for Seattle.

(14:45):
I don't I don't know how they do it for
every year in December, they seem to start playing their
best football. And you know, every coach talks about that.
Every team you know, strives to do that at the
beginning of the year. But but Seattle and and and
Pete Carroll and what he's done, have found a way
to do it each and every season. Uh. So it's
been impressive to see what happens with him and the
offensive line. They've probably got their best five out there again, uh,

(15:07):
you know, for the first time in quite a while.
So we'll see how they do there. I agree with you, coach.
I think it's all gonna be about what happens in
that other matchup on the offensive and defensive line. Uh
you know, see uh with the Seattle's offensive line and
that that front of the Jacksonville Jaguars, And you know,
sometimes you can be a little bit too cautious when
you've got a guy that's got Russell's skill set, and
all of a sudden, it impacts your edge rushers. And

(15:30):
it was funny to talk to coach wash and he
said earlier in the week, he goes, maybe I over
emphasized it a little bit, he goes, because when we
got the practice, the guys were not moving as faster,
kind of kind of that controlled rush style. And then
and I told him, I said, listen, we're not making
a special plan. I'm cutting you guys loose about you
to rush smart. I want you to keep your eyes
on the quarterback at all times. Everybody's got a hustle

(15:51):
to the ball. But we're not doing anything different. We're
gonna go after this guy. And I think that that's
smart because they've got some unique speed and that defensive front,
and I think it's something that Russell Wilson has not
seen yet this season. Darrell, what's the weekly update on
what Seattle is going to try to do out of
the backfield. I keep thinking that at some point, whether
it's now in the playoffs, they're gonna need somebody to

(16:12):
help Russell Wilson out on offense. Yeah, Mike Davis is
going to get the shot again. I think they like
to spark there. Um, you know, they've got a chance
to get Chris Carson back. Uh. The Sean shed is
another guy that they lost obviously last year in that
playoff run down in Atlanta. He's practiced, they come off pup. Uh.

(16:32):
So they've got a couple of guys that are that
are hopefully going to be back in the lineup here
as they get ready for their playoff push. But I
think right now, uh that that that coach Carroll really
likes Mike Davis and what he's done. He liked them,
uh in the game against Atlanta, he liked him last
week against Philly. So I think you're gonna see him
again today. Uh. He had a little bit, a little

(16:55):
bit of quickness to it. But you know, even he said, listen,
you know we're we're not performing a kind of an
early stage barometer in our run game. And it's late
in the season and we know that, and we've got
to get better there. And you know the style that
we'd like to play, and we we really can't do
that right now. So we're lying relying a little bit
on Russell to to ad live and create. But but

(17:15):
they're trying to get back to that style that was
similar to what they had with Marshawn Lynch. I think
that that was a unique time for them with a
guy like that. But that's what they're always striving to
get back to. And and we'll see if they can
do it, whether it's by committee or they decided to
go with one guy here down the stretch. Yeah, moos.
And and how about that Seahawk defense. You take the
two best players on their defense, Sherman and Chancellor, they're

(17:37):
not playing, and yet they go out and they beat
the Eagles. I mean, who, who are the hottest team
in football? I mean, these guys are doing a fantastic
job without those two great players. And I don't know
if they're gonna need him. Uh, this week, they just
got to stop that big for net running the football.
And uh, you know, because Bordles he can throw you
just men as he can, you know, as as he

(17:58):
can complete. Yeah. Yeah, different challenge this week, coach. I agree. Uh,
And I'm a big Cam Chancellor fan, and I just
always have felt that defense was not the same with
just Cam out of the line, With Cam and Richard
out of the lineup, I really expected them to struggle
the one area that maybe there's a little drop off
his third down. Um, you know, they were one of
the I think they were near the top ten when

(18:20):
when everybody was healthy. They've they've dropped down towards the
bottom right now over the last couple of weeks with
those guys out of lineup. So you know, can Blake
Bortles take advantage of that. But to do that, he's
got to get into some third manageable uh situations. And
there's nobody better than Seattle and put me into some
third and longs. And that was one of coach Marone's
biggest concerns is being smart on first and second down.
But yeah, I agree that. I think Bradley McDougal's doing

(18:41):
a great job. And they don't go out there and
be Cam. Go out there and be Bradley. Played at
your skills to do what you can do, uh, And
he had a heck of a game last week against
Zach Ertz, who was one of the better tight ends
in the league. So I think Bradley dougal has been
a big surprise for him. I think that figured out
a good cornerback tandem last week against Philadelphia. They kind
of play. I think he've gone four consecutive games with

(19:03):
a different combination at the outside with the cornerback current,
So I think they figured that one out last week.
So we'll see how they are down the stretch. But yeah,
you're just never the same without Cam Chancellor Richard Sherman,
So we'll see what what that drop off is the
remainder of the season most we look forward to this game.
We really appreciate having you so much, Seahawks Jags later
today on Fox, Thanks so much. Okay, there goes Dale

(19:26):
Johnston along with Chris Myers Laura Oakman later today. That's
one of the highlighted games. Later on this afternoon, Eagles
Rams certainly the other one, uh, coming up here in
Los Angeles later on today. Cam Newton's gonna get one
of his receivers killed. I mean, I mean that that
high pass over the middle, and I didn't even catch

(19:47):
who the receiver was, but he had to go up
to make the catch and then he's upended and basically
landed on the back of his neck. It's one of
those plays where you just see it and you're immediately like, okay,
please get up and look normal and uh and he
did so. So all's well, But that one was that
one was difficult to watch for a second there in
Minnesota and Carolina tied seven seven. We can pass along

(20:09):
that while we were talking to most case. Keenom follows
the pick by going right down the field with a
great drive hit Kyle Rudolph for a touchdown. Unbelievable. This
guy he is, he's just playing so great and and uh,
every week, it doesn't matter who they're playing. He he
does think he's he's had some great plays already with
his feet where he's he's ducked the pass rush and

(20:30):
then he and he's made plays. So what a great
job he's done. That was that special team player, that
best and kid who every time they activate him a
little late in the year, and he probably never even
knew the difference, but he went he got absolutely destroyed
on that reception. Yes he did, but he popped right
up and yeah, so, uh, Jimmy Garoppolo and the forty

(20:51):
niners are back out on the field. The interception does
not end up hurting him. Um, the Texans are not
able to deal with it, do anything with it, so
they continue to lead three to nothing. Did you get
a chance to see that highlight on the on the
Garoppolo interception? Remember last week I talked about maybe a
new stat called the I N T n F, which
is the interception not fault. This one a little bit more. Maybe, well,

(21:18):
he's gotta keep running. His receiver stopped and he threw
it to where he thought he was gonna be his
receiver stopped and the ball went right by that spot
and there was a safety weight and there made the pick.
Uh So, I don't know that was that was a
little bit. I don't think it's an I N T
n F. No, No, I think we're just gonna have
to give it to him. How about I N T
p F like partial fault. Yeah, maybe AF PF. There's

(21:41):
there's a room to blame everything. Okay, everybody gets a
little bit. It's everybody's fault. We know it's not. It's
not ILO's fault. He's just gonna come in here and
get you a scoreboard update with all the eight games
and more. Good morning Isaac, Good morning Mark and Rob.
When we begin with that NFC showdown at Bank of
Emarrass America Stadium, the Vikings and Carolina Panthers tied at

(22:03):
seven four minutes left to play in the first quarter.
On the first possession of the game, Case Keenum intercepted
by Carolina's Darryl Warley, the first interception of this season
by a Panther cornerback, and it led to this Jonathan
Stewart play in the secondary. Mays car He's still at
fifty for the Vikings thirty, no one will touch him.

(22:23):
Jonathan stewarts it from the Carolina forty yard line, Nick
mix and the call on w BT. However, the Vikings
answered on an eighteen yard touchdown pass from Keenum to
Kyle Rudolph, who they call Rudolph the red Zone Reindeer.
In Minnesota, three and a half dour of the first quarter,
Vikings and Panthers tied at seven. Minnesota clinches the NFC

(22:44):
North with a win. Chiefs have three nothing over the Raiders,
ninety ticks remaining in the first quarter. The Cowboys at
three nothing, lead over the Giants after one. Packers and
Browns tied at seven to seventeen left to play in
the opening quarter Cleveland, which came in, of course oh
and twelve, pulling even on an eighteen yard touchdown pass
from Shaan Kaiser to Josh Gordon. The Lions and Bucks

(23:05):
tied at seven to fifty one left to play in
the first quarter. In Buffalo, it's just a crazy scene,
overwhelming snow. You can't even see the scoreboard at the
other end of the stadium. Perhaps not necessarily a bad thing.
They are thirty eight seconds into the second quarter, no
score between the Bills and the colt is. A short

(23:27):
time ago, Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinitary missed a thirty three
yard field goal. Come on, Vinitary, you need to learn
how to make a field goal in the snow. Oh wait, wait, man,
that guy never been if he is one, I have
a feeling well that house, But how can make a
yard or in this shuff? I mean, you know, this

(23:50):
is a huge game for the Bills. Remember they have
two Miami games left, so they win this one, you know,
they play you know, and then New England the end
of the year. Unbelievable schedule forms, So this is a
huge game form. Yeah, they came into the game just
one bind the Ravens for the last playoff spot in
the a f C. Feel very sorry for the announcers
who have to try and announce that game with all

(24:11):
that snow. Speaking of field goals in Houston, where it's
warm and toasty, Caimi fair bear in a fifty five
yard field goal. Texans lead the Niners three nothing, one
seven left in the first and finally, a twenty one
yard touchdown run by Jordan Howard has given the Bears
a sixth to nothing lead at Cincinnati. The extra point
hit the right upright. They have seven thirteen left in
the first quarter of their fellas. All right, great stuff,

(24:31):
I'll appreciate it. Uh, Love has an army. You can

A L j O I N. The Chiefs moving on

(24:52):
the outskirts of the red zone. Just converted on a
third and sixteen moments ago. The beautiful pass from Alex
Smith to Tyreek Hill. Ty Rick Hill terrifies the Raiders
by the way. I mean, I know he he's terrorizing
a lot of people this year, but I remember that
get that Thursday night game, You remember the last time
the Raiders play the Chiefs. That crazy finished for Derek
Carr Gots with times one one the game by one point.

(25:17):
Tyreek Hill was just all over the Raiders secondary in
that game and off to a nice start in this
game as well. And the Chiefs just got a penalty
on the Raiders. That's gonna give them a first down
either inside or just outside the red zone. So, uh,
they have been the aggressors here in the first quarter
of this football game. Yeah, they do look good. And

(25:38):
the big thing with that, uh Tyreek Hill, You've got
a jam him. And I know that sounds crazy, but
if you play off of him, he he has too
He's too quick, he can run too fast. He's gonna
be open all over the place. You've got a jam
him and slow him down. And that's that's a big thing.
When they were caught on that third and sixteen too

(25:58):
far off them and Alex Smith made a great throw
throwing underneath the corner. Giants are threatening to put some
points on the board there in the red zone, although
it's gonna be third and long coming up from just
outside the fifteen yard line. The Cowboys lead that game
three to nothing, but Eli Mannings first drive as the
brand new starter for the New York Giants. Boy, this kid,

(26:19):
you know they just threw him in there. He looks okay,
pretty good. Panthers are threatening again. Um that one. They've
got a second and goal coming up seven seven tie. Uh,
So we will keep you up to date on that
one as well, uh, the Chiefs are coming to uh
to a first intent at about the seventeen yard line. Um,

(26:40):
let's take a look at this play. It's gonna be
Alex Smith out of a shotgun, throws over the middle
a little bubble screen to Travis Kelsey, and Kelsey is in.
I think yes, he is touchdown all right, So it's
already a nine nothing lead for the Chiefs leading the Raiders.
I saw someone a friend earlier today called this one
on a leave town game. Leave town game, Chiefs and

(27:04):
Raiders losers out, I mean, and the losers not out.
They're gonna be a game out of first. But the
loser of this game is in bad shape. Oh, no
question about it. And uh, you know this is crazy.
This is a play they used to do with Tony
Gonzalez back a hundred years ago when vermil was a coach.
They faked the screen both ways like you talked about,
and dump it to the tight end. That's called the

(27:25):
fun pass. There's nothing funny about it when you're trying
to defend it. Yeah, no, that didn't. The Raiders did
not have any fun then. Travis Kelsey had a ton
of fun. We're gonna get a review here to see.
Uh if his knee was down before he crossed the
goal line. Let's take a look. At full speed. He
looks like he's in, but I bet at slow speed
he's probably not. That's my guess. Uh yeah, who knows.

(27:46):
Throw a feather in the air. I don't know which
way the rests are gonna go on that one. That's
one of those that's really tough. Looks like he made it.
See now, I just saw that. I think I think
they're gonna call him down at the half yard line.
I'll bet you a lunch stand ward. What say? Yeah,
I brought my lunchables today. But I'm going with it.
I'm I'm touchdown. I say first and goal the half

(28:09):
yard check it out. We'll see. We'll see what happens
on that. Here's my question about this game, is the
Chiefs have a good offensive. First quarter, They've had two drives,
they're putting points on the board for both of them.
Is the Chiefs offense back or are they just playing
the Raiders today? Well, I mean, you know, and they
played the Jets last week, you know, so, uh, but

(28:30):
this looks like an energized offense. It looks like how
they looked at the beginning of the year. I know
they're on script right now, they're rolling along nice and
but I think, you know, it's crazy where Andy Reid,
one of the greatest play callers in the history of
the league, steps away unless this young man take over.
And uh, I just think, you know, this is working
for him. And if they can just get anything going.

(28:53):
Revus made a nice play already in the game. They
can get anything going on that defense again, they could be,
you know, one of the teams, you know, if not
the team to beat in that league. While we're way
too early to start putting a cap on this game,
and who knows what the Charges will do later today
against Washington. But I am already in my mind flashing
forward a little bit next Saturday night. Actually hold that thought.

(29:14):
Here's the call. Uh they are going to it's not
I think they're gonna reverse. They're gonna reverse it. And
that's the end of the first quarter. So or did
they reverse it? I never saw the signal over on
the side. Yeah, well, we have no audio, we're just watching.

(29:35):
We wanted out what's just happened there. I think that
they overturned it, and it's gonna be first and goal
at the half yard line. But we'll hold that thought
for a second to be sure. I'm already on the spot. Well, hey,
you know I'm gonna get these ice check you do.
Speaking of getting ice checked, Josh Gordon just scored a touchdown,
as we mentioned for Cleveland. Do you know what he

(29:55):
did when he got to the sideline? He put a
pair of sunglasses on. That's is that little little celebration there? Now?
How does that grab you? Knowing where Josh Gordon's been,
I just I just wish you just sit on the
bench and be happy where he's at. Yeah, you don't
have to look. We get it. You're a superstar, You're
you're a great athlete. Let's stay out of that. You
know you don't need that. Your team hasn't won a game,

(30:17):
and I know you're back it's a second game, but
come on, man, just just enjoy I'm always a big
supporter of and understanding of showing a lot of emotion
and why why why wide receivers especially this is just
who they are. This is this is you know, they're
cut from that cloth. We get it, um, but but

(30:37):
even I there's I don't have a problem with it.
But there's a moment where you're just like, gosh, everybody's
rooting for everybody, everybody kid, and and don't don't turn
it into something that people aren't gonna want to want
to be around, right, And you also know that what
he's going to be dealing with every minute of every
day for the rest of his life is a fight.

(30:59):
And you're just you're looking for signs of as much
humility as possible. And uh, so you know, you score
your first touchdown and and uh and the hot dogs
start coming out, and that it does concern you a
little bit. Yeah, I mean, you know, come on, man,
it's the maturity of it. Just you know, everybody's pulling
for this kid. Let's hope he uh doesn't get sidetracked.

(31:20):
He doesn't need to do that. Jonathan Stewart goes in again.
That's another touchdown for the Carolina Panthers and they are
back in front on top of Minnesota thirteen to seven.
Extra point on the way, we can confirm for you that, uh,
the touchdown for the Chiefs was overturned. So it is
when the first the first play of the second quarter, Yeah,

(31:42):
give me my sandwich. So, uh, the first play of
the second quarter is gonna be first and goal for
the Chiefs of the half yard line. And you know
what this may mean, Coach, We spent a good part
of the first month of the season just fawning over
Kareem Hunt. He has not scored a touchdown since he
did it at stubb Up Center against the Charges in
Week three. Would this be it? Right here in the

(32:04):
half yard they have two hunch in the backfield form right,
so there's two different ones it is gonna be and
he is very in he is three and then and
now it's a touchdown for the Chiefs and it's nine
to nothing in favor of the Chiefs, uh taking care
of the Raiders. And that now does allow us to

(32:25):
flash forward a little bit next Saturday night. Let's talk
about this coming up next. Yes it's too early, but
you start to dream about what this could be. Chargers
at Chiefs and a standalone National Saturday night game. Are
both of them seven and six? The Chiefs are off
to a very good start in being that the Chargers

(32:45):
have to play later today. I got a few questions
about that potential matchup, and we'll do that coming up
next with Rob Ryan Mark. Where the Red's on radio.
Touchdown run, Doug Martin touchdown catch, Brandon LaFell, Bengals back
in front of the Bear seven to six and the
box have even things up with the Lion seven to seven,

(33:07):
and the Jimmy Garoppolo hype train has reached a bus stop.
Let's just say it that way. Um, what are you
seeing from him today? Three of seven twenty five yards
and that interception that was only partially his fault. Yeah,
I mean, you know, this defense, you know, was one

(33:28):
of the best last years. And uh, it looks like
they're playing a little bit better too, you know, as
of late. So he's got his work cut out for him.
But hey, look it's early yet. He's a young guy.
He'll bounce back. The thing I like about he always
keeps his cool. You know, he's calm there in the pocket.
I think, uh, you know, I think they really got
something special. I'll tell you what. There's a game going

(33:49):
on right now that I just have a big question
about because it's a it's a good looking game. It
was supposed to be a good looking game, but it
doesn't look like I thought it was going to look
in terms of style. The Panthers and Vikings is two
of the best defenses in football. Cam Newton has been
an inconsistent quarterback this year. Case Keenum has has been consistent.

(34:11):
But come on, he's Case Keenum. He's got a career
body of work and it hasn't been this. These two
teams are flying up and down the field on each other.
The only thing that's stopping him has dropped passes right,
And there's two of the best defenses. Yes, like you say,
I mean, uh, look these quarterbacks. I mean they've had
their moments. They certainly have, and and uh uh it

(34:31):
is crazy to see a track meet with with so
much on the line with these two great defenses. But hey,
you gotta tip your hats in those quarterbacks. And mean
they're playing well. Long field goal in the air for
Dan Bailey and the Cowboys and it is off the
upright and no good. That was a fifty one yard attempt.
So the score will stay tied at three and the
Giants will take over with very good field position. That

(34:53):
was right after Beasley dropped a huge third down and
he just dropped it out of bounds. Yep, he had
it right between and Dez Bryant. Earlier in the drive.
Dropped and one that went right through his hands and
hit him in the face. Mask Um. So you know
these are the kinds of things. By the way, do
you remember the conversation we had last week where I
had been listening to cow heard earlier in the week

(35:13):
and he was talking about how tom Brady's numbers drop
in December and that that was a sign of age.
I I was thinking, as I'm driving around listening to him,
I go, well, could it also be that the football
and many of these cities tom Brady's included, the football
becomes a big block of ice, It becomes much harder
to throw. Yeah, it becomes much harder to catch. You're

(35:34):
seeing that in that Giant's Cowboys game right now. No,
you actually are. I mean that's that's uh, you know,
that's something to think about it for sure. Can you
get a good grip on the football for one, and
then you know that's the throw it and then catching
it's the same thing. What an incredible catch by was
that Albert Wilson Um for the Kansas City Chiefs, who
are on the move again now inside the thirty yard

(35:56):
line as they are just moving up and down the field,
They've had two drives one the field goal want to
touchdown on the Raiders, and now they're in scoring position again.
They lead over Oakland tend to nothing. If that holds,
if the Chargers handle their business later today, sets up
a first place showdown an Arrowhead next Saturday night. And
I'm curious. The Chargers offense has been rolling for a while,

(36:17):
and the Kansas City defense hadn't been stopping anybody except
for Derek Carr in the last month or so. And
you know, the the Chief's offense looks like they've got
their groove back, They've got their mojo. So what I
want to see and what I want to ask you about,
is what if the Chief's offense has its mojo, but
then it's got to go against Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa.

(36:38):
Who would you select to still have mojo at the
end of that game. I would think the Chargers, because
I think the Chargers are gonna handle the Chiefs defense
better than the Chiefs will handle the Chargers. I mean,
you know, like you say, those two guys are great,
but those two inside tackles are excellent. Now they have
Perriman back, who's the best metal linebacker? You know? Best linebackers.

(36:58):
So uh uh. You know in Hayward such an underrated corner,
he's one of the best in football. I mean they
are red hot. The Charges are so look, they gotta
they gotta beat a dangerous team today, you know, when
the Redskins and Kirk Cousins. But uh, if they get
that done, that is gonna be one heck of a game.
And I think the Chargers can pull it off. I'll

(37:19):
tell you what. Uh there there are a number of
stats about the Chargers defense that don't get a lot
of pub but one of them came out last week
and it was because of what Josh Gordon was able
to do against them. He didn't have any great they
of course, the Browns only scored ten points, but Gordon
did go for eighty yards and suddenly everyone's thrown around
the staff that that's only the second receiver all year

(37:40):
to cross eighty yards against the Chargers. That's crazy. Now,
that is really impressive. And and the other thing is
their number two in the league in red zone defense.
So I mean they are doing it. You know, they're
doing a great job. They've struggled with the running game.
I mean, that's one thing they have struggled with But shoot,
you know, no one's you know, can see and been

(38:00):
able to run of football on anybody since the beginning
of the year. So, uh, you know, I think it's
gonna be a great game. Um. The Chiefs have a
third and five in the red zone coming up. Alex
Smith moments ago looking for Travis Kelsey at the goal line,
doesn't get him. Kelsey wants a flag. He doesn't get
that either. Um, so it's gonna set up a third
and five. But either way, you'd think the Chiefs are

(38:22):
about to either put three or six on the board
right here and continue their their healthy double digit lead
against the Raiders early in this game. Let's take a
look at this play right now Smith. This is from
the eleven yard line, third and five. Smith is out
of the shotgun. He's got a couple of receivers to
his right and one to his left, and Hunt is
right next to him in the backfield. Back to pass,

(38:45):
has time throws over the middle and Kelsey dropped it.
Kelsey dropped it, and so that's gonna set up a
field goal. Try. Kelsey is hanging his head. You know
how emotional of a guy he is. You know, we
saw him a couple of times last week barking at
Alex on the side. This is why see my son
and youth football as a receiver. And I always tell
him this because he's one of these guys. Oh you've

(39:05):
a bad pass, bad pass as you shut your mouth
because on the next one he might hit you a
good pass and you drop it like you better you
bet And and Kelsey I think walks that line sometimes. Yeah,
I mean, you know, but a lot of these great
receivers do. But oh, is that a bad drop? He
would have walked right into the end zone. They they
Chiefs got the Raiders in a blitz ands one on

(39:26):
one with Kelsey, and he turned the linebacker all over
the place and then just dropped twenty nine yard field
goal is up and good. So the Chiefs three for
three in terms of scoring on their drives. Early second
quarter Chiefs thirteen. Uh. The Raiders have yet to score.
The Giants have moved the ball now back into U
Cowboy territory after that missed field goal by Dan Bailey,

(39:50):
So they've got a first down right now, just across
the fifty yard line. We'll keep an eye on that game,
which is tied three three. Carolina continues to lead over Minneso,
owed to fourteen to seven and has the ball on
the move again. And meantime, guess what, Cleveland tied with
green Bay seven seven and they've got the ball second

(40:11):
in short inside green Bay territory. Do you want to
do you want to do it now? Do you want
to say? Today's the day? Is today? To day talked
about it being today, So we'll see. If it's hard
to it's hard to go over the season. It is hard,
it is if this would be a devastating but yeah,

(40:36):
some injury updates to pass along as we welcome you
back in Week fourteen. National Football League, Fox Sports Radio
Red Zone Radio Live. Guy called Fox Sports Radio Studios
fifteen minutes could save you fift more on car insurance.
Guy could not come for a free rate quote and
coming up shortly, Jeff Allen will join from Vegas with
a freeze selection. Greg Olsen just hopped, didn't lamp hopped

(41:00):
off the field for the Carolina Panthers that foot. It's
just like every time they say it's okay, coach, it's
not okay. Right now he's that's that's a huge blow
to that team because that's that's Cam's guy. And but
he's clearly hurt. I mean that that's every week he plays,
he come, he can't make it pass a quarter or two,

(41:21):
and uh, it's clearly got you know, a problem, and
doubt he'll be able to play again. Carolina punts the
ball away, Minnesota will take over, but well inside their
own territory. Panthers continue to lead that game fourteen to seven.
We also just saw moments ago as the forty Niners
had a nice defensive stand on the Texans, but Ruben
Foster was down on the field for a short period

(41:43):
of time, sitting up talking with trainers. Didn't look to
be in some sort of excessive amount of pain. Uh. Meantime,
we've got Marquees Goodwin in the open field. In that game,
forty Niners are gonna have the ball well into Houston territory.
Beautiful throw right there from Jimmy Garoppolo to Goodwin, who
has put together a couple of really nice games. Now
that he's got a quarterback that has the ability to

(42:04):
throw the ball downfield. No, I mean, I'll tell you what.
He's got that world class speed, but he's a better
receiver than people give him credit for he's not just
a fast guy. And now, like you say, he's got
somebody that can actually get him the football and he's
gonna become a real weapon. Matt Brita then takes a
handoff on the very next play and the forty Niners
are down into the red zone. However, there's a flag
on the field, so we'll take a look at that one.

(42:26):
But getting back to Ruben Foster, I don't know if
we'll see him again in this game. But because he's
on the forty Niners, because it's not a great defense,
they don't win games. Uh. There hasn't been a whole
lot of talk about Reuben Foster this year, and he
missed a good period of time. But when he's been
in their coach he looks great. And if you go
back to the draft, remember what the forty Niners did.

(42:48):
They get all the attention for all the picks they
got by moving a slot so the Bears could get
Robiskie and they got Solomon Thomas. But they used a
lot of that power to then jump into the first
round again and grab Ruben Foster and I think you
know health pending, Uh, they got themselves a steel all Yeah,
he's a super super football player. And and you know
he gets hurt hitting the quarterback. He unloaded on the quarterback.

(43:10):
So hopefully he can stay healthy because he is a
tremendous middle linebacker. He really is. And and uh, it's
got all the intangibles. Can you know, he's smart, he's tough,
he can hit, he can run. I mean, he's outstanding.
Well I'm gonna take a Jimmy Garoppolo touchdown pass off
the board as well, because Carlos hid was wide open

(43:32):
in the end zone and he just stopped running and
the ball was right out of his fingertips. Uh So
once again, I thought this was a pretty good play.
Forty Niners were threatening, but they're unable to get points
on the board. Uh. Amari Cooper is also now down
in the Raiders Chiefs game. Remember he was questionable all
the way up until the gun this morning. Uh, he's
been dealing with a couple of injuries. Did not play

(43:52):
last week, but he was in today, but now struggling
again with injury. Right these guys, you know, everybody's trying
to play now. It's time of year you have to
and uh, you know you mentioned Garoppolo and high just
you know, through his outstretched hands. He's got to make
that play. Garoppolo got absolutely smashed by uh by the
rush there, and it's uh, he saw it coming. He's

(44:15):
hung in there. That's what I love about him. He's
hangs in, he sits in, he delivers the football and
takes a shot. I mean, that was outstanding play. You know,
the forty Niners are gonna have a really good draft
pick and don't need a quarterback. Can I make a
prediction for you right now is there's nothing against Brita
and it's nothing against Carlos Hide. Uh. Somehow, some way,
I have a feeling that s Juan Barkley is going

(44:36):
to be playing for San Francisco next year. That would
be a great selection. He's super talented running back here. Um,
so we'll see second and fifteen coming up from the
forty Niners. The Giants have the ball in the move.
The Vikings have a first intent up near midfield as
they trail fourteen to seven against Carolina, but have the
ball on the move and now have it in Carolina territory.
In fact, let's also pass this along coach guess who's

(44:59):
leading in Cleveland? The Browns are up fourteen to seven.
Packers got that early seven, nothing to leave, but Cleveland
has come right back. And take a look at Deshaun
Kaiser's numbers for the day, eleven of twelve for one
hundred thirty three yards and two touchdowns, no turnovers. That's
that's impressive. That's that's not good for the Packers. Second,

(45:20):
I mean because we've seen his kids struggling and the
biggest thing he does is, you know, he he holds
the ball so long, and you would think the Packers
rushes is uh talent as some of those rushers are,
could get to him. But uh, you know right now
in the Browns fourteen seven, we knew it was gonna
be a tough game and this, uh, I know these
Packer fans were wanting to get their quarterback back, but

(45:42):
they gotta win this game to do that. Yes, they do.
This would probably this would definitely put them out for good.
I also wonder about this. Um. I saw this from
the owner of the Browns yesterday, Jimmy Haslam, at the
press conference to introduce the new general manager, said out loud,
his number one job, my new GM. Yes, his number

(46:03):
one job is going to be to get a quarterback.
We've got to figure that out. Now. That doesn't surprise anybody,
but you I did immediately think, boy, I wonder how
de Sean Kaiser felt about that statement. I mean, he's
still a rookie. He's supposed to he's supposed to have
some bumps and bruises and bad moments as a rookie quarterback. Well,

(46:25):
I mean, you know, obviously, here's the thing. They've had
a chance to evaluate this young guy for the entire
season and it hasn't been all good. But it hasn't
been all bad. He's actually playing a little bit better
as the season goes. But uh, you know, clearly they're
gonna try to draft. If they think of a franchise
quarterback is out there, they're gonna go get him, no question.

(46:45):
Because I still think back to that draft a couple
of years ago, and uh, they have got to be
just crushing themselves for passing on Carson Wentz. I know,
golf has looked good. That feels a little bit more situational.
You look at Carson Wentz with his size and the
athletic ability that comes along with it, and you're like,
that would work anywhere. Because sometimes you look at Cleveland.
You're like, there are great quarterbacks out there, but would

(47:08):
they be great if they were in Cleveland? Whence is
someone I feel like would be great anyway. I think
he would too, And and you know, and then this
year they passed on to Shaun Watson, you know, and
I mean, you know, nobody was playing better and he was,
I mean, you know so, but he got hurt. But no,
you're right there. You know, here's a big guy who
could throw in any kind of win, any kind of weather.
I mean, that's you know, it's just screaming draft him

(47:31):
in Cleveland. But hey, they didn't do it. And you
know that's Philadelphia's game, that's for sure. Vikings into the
red zone and they've got a first intent at the
Carolina nineteen. First play is gonna be a little screen
past attempt to Jerick McKinnon that he drops, So second
intent coming out. The Giants are also knocking on the
door against Dallas as dark one just took one inside

(47:52):
the five. So now you've got a third and one
third and one is coming up uh for the Giants.
Uh in a three three tie to fifty six to
go in the first half there, uh, and the Giants
come to the line of scrimmage. Actually, they're gonna measure first.
It might have gotten the first down here. Uh. If not,
they're gonna be just inches short. Nope, that's the first

(48:14):
down all right. So first and goal coming up for
the Giants. Let's take a look at the vikings here
on this second and ten play from the nineteen trailing
fourteen to seven at Carolina pass play Keenum out to
the flat that's caught by McKinnon for a game of
about three h third and long coming up. This is
kind of an area where I think Carolina's defense, the

(48:35):
way it's built, really has success. Luke kick Lee makes
a lot of plays in this kind of their Their
linebacking corps so good in this position, so good and
so fast. I mean they cover so much ground. Uh,
you know, they gotta defend every blody grass down here
in this red zone there up by seven. This is
a huge play here. And but you're right, I mean
with those two linebackers, uh covering the ground they do that.

(48:57):
They are special guys. The Purston goal play for the
Giants is gonna come up just about a half yard short,
so they're not in the end zone yet. Here's the
third and seven from Minnesota, Keenum throws left caught but short. Uh,
that's theelan who's gonna grab it for about four yards,
three yards shy of the first down marker. So a
field goal try coming for the Vikings. Bears just put

(49:18):
a field goal through. They now leaded Cincinnati nine to seven,
and the forty Niners are on the board with a
field goal. Uh. That one is now knotted up at
three apiece and Detroit has now gone back in front
of Tampa fourteen to seven. Matt Stafford with a touchdown
pass to Golden Tate. Remember Matt Stafford. Oh, we're not
sure if he's gonna play. There's the finger on the

(49:40):
throwing hand. All of that. Matt Stafford today, fifteen of
seventeen for one eighties six yards and a touchdown. Stafford
looks fine. The worst defense in the National Football League,
so that's not a good thing. So that you know
they're they're they're they're playing really bad defense. But now
here's the Giant school up and score here on a

(50:01):
big on a big bootleg, big fake run and great
catch touchdown for the Giants. Great great catch. That's the
backup tight end and he's down before the goal line,
but not touched. Right, there's the knee, but he hasn't
been touched. I think he rolls in by the time
the Cowboys get their hands on his back. Do you

(50:23):
see it that way? To coach? Yeah, and I know
you're one for one. I'm gonna see another touchdown here
we go. Well, I'm gonna go with you on this
one though. I'm sure they're they're reviewing it right now,
but no, they have confirmed it. It's a touchdown. The
Giants lead this one nine to three, the extra point
on the way checking back in on the Chiefs and Raiders.

(50:44):
That extra points good by the way. Raiders had their
best drive of the day, but it still led to nothing. Um,
so the Chiefs now take over their fourth drive. They've
scored on all three of their drives to this point.
Five minute mark of the second quarter. It's thirteen to
nothing for Kansas City and the Raiders become a little
bit of a of a head scratcher. You know, they've
got their guys back today. Uh, there's no I mean

(51:05):
Cooper uh is out injured again, but he was there
in the first quarter. Crab trees back and there that
that's a healthy group. And Derek Carr just hadn't looked
like the same leader that he was last year, really hasn't.
And Peters isn't playing, but Rivas is especially well. Yeah,
who knew? And that's the That's the thing. I mean,
this Chief's defense hadn't really been stopping much of anybody lately,

(51:29):
but they certainly are today against the Raiders. Kareem Hunt
with a pass catch out into the flat, He's gonna
go out of bound. The Chiefs are moving it toward midfield.
We'll keep you up to date on all of this.
It's Week fourteen, NFL rob Ryan Mark Willard, Red Zone Radio. Hey,

(52:57):
This team is loaded with talent. On the other side,
Ran is led by head coach Sean McVeigh. What a
job he has done with Jared Goff twenty touchdowns just
six interceptions. Huge division win over Arizona last week. This
game has home field playoff implications. RAM six and one

Aaron Andrews in ten minutes predictions shall compliment Rob Ryan's hair. Well,
let's hope. So, I mean you want to talk about
your two went puh. The forty Niners just went in
for a touchdown. Carlos Hide from two yards out, bounces

(54:09):
it to the outside, makes it to pay dirt. Forty
Niners lead ten three. I'm back on the Jimmy Garoppolo
hype train. That was a good drive. Yeah. No, he
looks great, I'll tell you. I mean it's amazing. I
mean he he stood in and he has taken some
punishment today and like you were bringing up, hey, the
questions was the brittle guy or whatever? He is taking

(54:29):
some shots and he looks great. Yeah, he really does,
He's already up to a hundred and forty two yards,
passing two and a half to go to a half
time There forty Niners lead at Houston ten to three.
The Chiefs have put another field goal on the board.
You remember for years. In fact, if Alex Smith does
um finish his time with the Chiefs this year, I

(54:50):
think that the way that you'll remember Alex Smith and
his arrow with the Chiefs will be playoff team that
could never get all the way to the end. And
the microcosm of of that is even on drives like
he gets all the way to the ten Yes, cam
punching in like and and it's not his fault. Today

(55:10):
they've had a touchdown that was overturned by a penalty. Uh,
they did get one touchdown obviously, Kareem Hunt has a
touchdown run today. Um, and then they you know, Travis
Kelsey dropped one that would it would have been another touchdown.
So I'm not putting it on Alex. But so far
it's sixteen nothing. But you feel like if you're a
Raider fan and we've got one here, Producer Rob is

(55:31):
like excited. They're only down by sixteen. They should be
down by more right. Well, you know he's the ultimate manager,
Like he's not turning the ball over, you know, so
that's what he does. But again, you know, you gotta
pull the trigger and make something happen. And like you say,
he's a little bit more conservative and that's always always
been and uh you know that's I mean, they win games.

(55:53):
It's just like you say, it's just not enough. What
does it mean when Geico says is fifteen minutes could
save you or more on car insurance, it means you
probably should have gone to Geico dot com fifteen minutes
ago with Rob Ryan Mark with a red Zone radio
Happy Week fourteen to you Raiders. Back out on the field,
here's Michael Crabtree. He'll get it up to the Chiefs
thirty five yard line. Uh, they need to get something

(56:13):
going on offense. A minute and a half to go
until halftime. Giants are punting the ball away already. Dallas
just scored moments ago to tie this game back up
at ten. It was a Dez Bryant siding coach des
Briant back into the end zone. I'm still trying to
figure out how how he gets so open. I mean,
my god, something must have fallen down or something. But

(56:34):
that's getting ready to be at halftime. There's only fifteen
seconds left. But now that's that's huge for for Dallas
to get Dez going and uh, you know for a
long catch and run. You don't see that very often,
not not not anymore with this case. Keenum with a
nice scramble for fifteen yards on second and sixteen, so
it's gonna set up third and one. We're at the

(56:54):
one minute mark in Carolina. Panthers lead the Vikings fourteen
to ten. But the Vikings right now just to cross
midfield and a completed past two. Is that digs? Uh? No,
that wasn't digs. We'll get you the number, um, but
the Vikings are now gonna have a first down. That
was Laquon Treadwell. Is who that was? How about that
siding and the Yeah, the Vikings are moving into Panther territory.

(57:17):
This has been a great football game, is advertised, Oh,
no question about it. Fifty three seconds to go. Uh,
you know, so they're they're looking for seven here. And
you know, we haven't talked much about this game for
two reasons. One, you can't see it and to the
two teams aren't all that exciting the Colts and the Bills,
but the Bills have scored a touchdown. Listen to these numbers.

(57:39):
The Bills, in a driving snowstorm in Buffalo, lead the
Colts seven to nothing. Here are the numbers for Nate Peterman,
who's starting at a quarterback today. He's three of eight
for thirty eight yards and that touchdown to Kelvin Benjamin.
They also had one trick play um. So they've got
nine pass attempts total against twenty three rush attempts. The
Colts the discrepancy even larger. They've got two past attempts

(58:03):
today against twenty three rushes, so in this game, forties
six rush attempts and eleven pass attempts. Like they've just
totally given up on the idea, right, Well, I mean,
you know, Peterman through the touchdown pass only points to
the game. So uh uh, they're gonna have to do
something because Indianapolis, Uh, you know, seventy eight yards on

(58:24):
twenty three attempts. I mean, they're gonna have to do
a little something here. Uh, I would think, but maybe
you can't even see the field, I guess I don't.
They say it's the worst ever at at the stadium. Yeah,
visibility is terrible. They can't see the scoreboard. I had
mentioned earlier they might not need it, but they do
need it a little bit. Buffalo leaves at halftime over
Indie seven and nothing. Another scramble for case Kingdom. He's

(58:45):
got the Vikings down in position incomplete on that attempt
in the end zone. No flag, Oh no, never mind.
I checked that the other ref did throw a flag.
And if that's the case, um, you're gonna have first
and goal inside the five for Minnesota. But you know,
you have the conversation right now, is this offensive or
defensive past interference? It is? It is on the defense.

(59:07):
And again it was Treadwell all of a sudden with
PM Treadwell is the guy here for Minnesota on this drive. Yeah,
I mean, you know, it looks like they're hand fighting,
both of them, and uh, Treadwell actually gets the latest
show the last shove in there, and they still got
the penalty on the on the defender. Indeed they did,
although he was absolutely holding him well before. It should

(59:28):
have been defensive not pass interference. I agree with it,
but it's gonna set it up at the four yard line.
So let's look at this twenty five seconds on the clock.
The Vikings do have two time outs. It's gonna be
a roll to the right the throw in completing it
should have been caught by feeling. He had it in
the in the chest. He's even pounded his chest, their
coach saying, sorry, case, that's my fault. Take another look

(59:50):
at it here. He had the opportunity to catch, dropped
it bounced off of his chests today. Yeah, yeah, Well
he let that one get past his hands and all
the way to his path and so that popped up.
We'll keep an eye on that one. Chiefs have the
ball again now at their own forty one yard line,
forty seconds to go. They've got it back and they're
trying to build on their sixteen nothing lead. We'll look

(01:00:12):
at that in a second, but stick with the second
and goal here for the Vikings. Keenum now looking for
the fade in the corner of the end zone for
Rudolph and it's caught but out of bounds. So third
and goal sixteen seconds coming up again. The Panthers lead
fourteen to ten on that one. Again. If you're a
fan of Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs, if you're a

(01:00:33):
Lions fan. If you are a Cowboys fan, you're rooting
hard for the Vikings to get something done today. You're
gonna need teams like the Panthers and the Seahawks UH
to mix in some losses here pretty quick, or that
wild card is just gonna be out of reach. No. Absolutely,
so they got a lot of extra fans today, that's
for sure, the Vikings. And look here they are knock
gonna door third and goal. Got a trips formation up

(01:00:55):
tip keen him out of the shotgun, is gonna drop
straight back, looks to his right, throws corner of the
end zone, and that is caught by Theeling. Touchdown. That
will be reviewed as well to make sure everything was
in But it looked to me like the shoulder was
down inbounds at least at full speed. So we'll take
another look at it. But it's gonna be a touchdown

(01:01:18):
from Keenam to Theeling. Here's our SloMo. Look at it.
He's definitely got the catch. There's one ft, there's one knee,
there's an elbow, and then the ball comes loose and
he regrabs it. I'm going in complete. I'm calling it
right now. Coach, what do you see I'm seeing. I'm
seeing he's out of bounds the same as you are.

(01:01:39):
He had he had two feet in, he established it,
but he bobbled the ball on the way out. I
think it's gonna be no catch. I do too, which
is gonna bring up fourth down and a probable field
goal try. But then again, uh, we never assume anything
with regard to what the essentially this year, I'm telling you, alright,
So while they do that review, let's get I low
in here Aaron Andrews in a couple of minutes. But

(01:02:02):
let's get a full scoreboard update. Week fourteen, ISAAC replay
review pending. As you said. In Carolina, Mark and Rob,
they have sixteen seconds left in the second quarter. Carolina
leads the Vikings fourteen to ten. Minnesota just apparently scored
the go ahead touchdown on a case Keenum four yard
passed to Adam Feeland. The play under review, and I agree,

(01:02:23):
it looks like as if this one is coming back,
but the call on the field was a touchdown. We
will keep you updated at halftime. In Kansas City, the
Chiefs on a one yard touchdown run by Kareem Hunt
and three Harrison butker Field goals, have a sixteen to
nothing lead over the Raiders. And by the way, that
touchdown in the Carolina Minnesota game is coming off the board,
making fourth down with ten seconds left in the second quarter,

(01:02:48):
much to the dismay of Mike Zimmer with an air
punch to boot reacting at the call. Meanwhile, let's go
to MetLife Stadium where in the final minutes of the
first half the Cowboys were trailing the Giants ten to three,
were being the key word back to Prescott's left. This
is a plant and they throw a slant at dasity
Tonnet at crow qu a forty thirty twenty a block

(01:03:10):
from Peasley and into the end zone. And there's your
big play, Prescott Bryant full fifty the veneral Brad Sham
McCall on k r l D. Cowboys and Giants tied
at ten at the half. Could this be the day
that the Cleveland Browns went for the first time this season?
Oh and twelve Cleveland with a fourteen to seven halftime

(01:03:32):
lead of the Green Bay Packers. They go ahead score
in this game for the moment on a seven yard
touchdown pass from Deshaun Kaiser to Duke Johnson. The Lions
on a five yard touchdown passed from Matthew Stafford to
Golden Tate have a fourteen to seven lead to Tampa
Bay thirty seconds remaining in the first half. Someone finally
found the end zone in snowy Buffalo is Kelvin Benjamin.

(01:03:54):
He catches an eight yard pass from Nathan Peterman. The
Bills a seven nothing halftime lead over the Indianapolis Colts.
The forty Niners a ten nine lead at Houston fifty
four seconds left to play in the second quarter, and
the Bears a twelve seven lead at Cincinnati twenty two
seconds left to play in the first half, and as
we mentioned, the apparent touchdown by Adam Thieland with the
Vikings overturned a short time ago, so Minnesota has to

(01:04:17):
settle for a twenty two yard field goal from Kai
for Bath. The Panthers leading the Vikings fourteen to thirteen,
seven seconds left in the second quarter. Minnesota right now
kicking off to Carolina. Carolina will also get the second
half kickoff Mark and Rob alright Ill great stuff touchdown
DeAndre Hopkins for Houston. Extra point is yanked wide left,

(01:04:38):
so the forty Niners will continue to lead under a
minute to go until the break. There ten to nine
San Francisco in front of Houston, and Minnesota did get
a field goal, so half time in Carolina fourteen to thirteen.
The score There Live Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios with
Rob Ryan, Mark Wellard and let's get her in here.
Let's get Aaron Andrews in as we get for Eagles

(01:05:00):
rams later today. Lots to talk about with that game.
But before we get there, Aaron, Uh, you know you
and Rob are the big names in this project. So
how are your pitch meetings going for the Aeron and
Rob hair show that we've we've talked so much about
this year. Well, I don't know how Rob Ryan's hair
looks right now, but I'm not happy with my situation
right now. Okay, it's well, Oh my goodness, Rob looks incredible.

(01:05:23):
He's got this collared shirt on. He looks like he's
going to a club after this. Jo to day. I
dressed I dressed up. I knew you'd be on the show,
but I can't. I guess it's the humidity out here.
Maybe it's just not doing great for your hair today. Yes,
if if you know what they say about that dry shampoo.
Dry shampoo will save your life, so you're perfect with that. Yeah. Yeah,

(01:05:46):
there's one thing they know about l A. I don't
know if it's humid it is. It is warm out there,
and they've got a hot looking game as well, Eagles
and Rams. Aaron, you know what the conversation is with
this game, as much as it's a phenomenal football game
on paper, a conversation and we'll forget the quarterback, Yeah, exactly.
Everyone wants to know about the what kind of hair
day it is? And what does the atmosphere look like?

(01:06:08):
Is that place filled with Eagles fans? I'm looking over
at the Eagle sideline and yet there are a good
amount of Eagles fans. So there's Eagles fans, there's Rams
fans and not great cell service is what we have
so far in the l Oh there you are, Aaron,
We lost your first second. Yeah, I'm so sorry. That's okay.

(01:06:30):
Uh yeah, you know what, more Eagles fans here, but
this thing hasn't even started to get going, so uh yeah,
not well, well we'll see. But we're joking around with
the guys about using a silent count everything like that,
and uh, I'm gonna stake hands with Electricock. Right now,
take these one of my boys. I'm doing a live
radio show and then I'm gonna ask you some questions. Um.

(01:06:53):
But yeah, we were talking actually to the Ram players.
Heared goff and and uh Sean McVeigh about are they
going to have to use is a silent count? And
they said they didn't think so, but you know they'd
be prepared to do it. They're kind of helping the
fans catch on a little bit here, So it'll be
interesting to see how thought did they mention the fact
they actually missed the practice. They never had a practice

(01:07:14):
on Wednesday. I guess because of the fires. Uh you know,
that could really set a team back unless they went
indoors or something and walk through it. But that's, uh,
that's kind of an interesting thing for this game. And
there's two so such well matched teams. Uh, just that
I think the red zone could be the big difference
where Philadelphia is just dominating on offense and in defense

(01:07:38):
in the red zone and the Rams, you know, not
so much. Yeah, you know, it'll be interesting when you
talk when you talk about the practice. They did have
to just use Wednesday kind of as a walk through
and they were inside their practice facility, but we were
out there on Friday and Ventura and and you would
have no idea that there were fires in the area
where the practice facility is. So that's good news for them.

(01:08:00):
Now it's gonna be interesting is when we did talk
to the Eagles, they were talking about staying here on
the West Coast since that loss to Seattle, and it
was interesting, you know, Carson went and I was just
talking to him about it here during pregame warm up.
He was saying, they're just ready to get home. They
understand what the coaching staff was doing by not bringing
them back and forth. But guys, you know this, Guys

(01:08:21):
like their routine. They like to be in their own bed,
they like to go to the practice facility. So I
think Jim Schwartz had deep back quote about the whole thing.
Our Troy Aikman asked him what he thought of the
weather out here and all that stuff, and Jim Schwartz said,
I could be in Siberia during this season and I
wouldn't know where the hell we are. So it's awesome.
It'll be interesting to see, you know, Eagles are just

(01:08:42):
ready to get home because they're the ones forget the
fires that were really taken out of their elements this week,
no doubt. Aaron Andrews joining us Joe Buck, Troy Aikman,
and Aaron on the Eagles Rams game later today on Fox. So, Aaron,
what is kind of your assessment of not just the
two quarterbacks in the way they're they're playing this year
You're but you know, being around these teams this week,

(01:09:03):
the roles they play, not just on the field, but
off in the locker room. What's the vibe around these guys.
It's cool for us because we haven't done a Rams
game this season, so we haven't been around you know,
the new regime's b l a Rams. We went last
year week to which UM coach Fisher and you know
we hadn't even met Jared Goff yet, So we're very
excited to see the whole you know, Sean McVeigh high

(01:09:25):
offense back talking, uh, you know project that they've got
going on here with the Ramps. Guys are excited and
you know there's a big story obviously with the Ramps
and how they don't have many veterans on this team
and that's why they brought in their whitworth and their
Sullivants and you know, the Robert Woods and everything like this.
They're just having a blast and they love, you know,
playing together. They're all very confident and excited about Jared

(01:09:47):
Goff and just how he's such a laid back kind
of guy and he doesn't get rattled by how big
of a game. This is the same thing with the Eagles.
I was just talking to al Sean Jeffrey and I
was just saying, congratulations on your contract negotia or extension
in and the fact you're on a winning team right now,
and he said, yeah, this is huge. I mean, we
are looking to do some really big things here, so
this is going to be special one. Today. We're very

(01:10:08):
excited and it's a home game. I was excited to
be home. But I gotta tell you there's no room
service at my house and when I'm on the road,
I don't have to usually walk my dog, and so
a little different matchups. Hey, I gotta tell you, the
Ryan family was just gotch a lot in our meeting too.
With Wade Phillips. That was pretty that's awesome things to
say about your dad. Oh that's great. Yeah, A lot

(01:10:29):
of people don't realize, you know, my dad hired weight
is his first defensive coordinator job was in Philadelphia. Yeah
it was really neat. Yeah, no, that's great. But uh,
I'll tell you what. How about those two d tackles
you mentioned, Fletcher Cox versus Aaron Donald. There's got to
be the two best defensive tackles in football, and they're
going head to head today. This is gonna be a great,

(01:10:50):
great game for them. When I got Todd Gurley running
by me right now, so another great one on this team.
But yeah, I know I'm gonna go grab Fletcher in
a minute and just talk about how I'm four and
it is for him to kind of clog the middle today,
So it'll be interesting. Bates Phillips have such a great
comment about going up against uh, you know they're running, Um,

(01:11:10):
I guess just kind of running by committee. He just said,
you know, people think we don't have a good run defense.
They think they have a good running game. We'll see
how they do. So it's on every single level of
both teams. Is gonna be a fun one to watch. Aaron,
great stuff. Go talk to Fletcher and we'll see you
at the Rob Ryan disco Bol holiday party later today. Okay, Bye, bye.

(01:11:32):
There goes Aaron Andrews our favorite here on Fox Sports Radio,
getting ready for what is gonna be a monster game
Eagles and Rams later on this afternoon, by the way,
And then you want to add, how do you see
this one? I kind of have a feeling the Eagles.
I don't see them losing two games in a row.
I I like them today. Yeah. The thing that bothered

(01:11:52):
you a little bit is, man, they can't wait to
get home. They got a lot of business to take
care of before they get home. So, uh, it's it's
two great teams to playoff teams going at it. Uh,
this is a tough trip. They had the two West
Coast games back to back. They lost the first one.
They gotta start fast. Philadelphia has to start faster than

(01:12:14):
they than they started that game against Seattle. And uh
and I think Philadelphia be all right just because they
are better in situational football than the Rams are. Forty nine.
Just kick a field goal going into the half, So
they lead at Houston at halftime now thirteen to nine.
In that game. A very big story developing at the

(01:12:34):
quarterback position that we will discuss coming up match with
Rob Ryan, Mark Willard. Red Zone Radio. All right with
the getic Fox Sports Radio Studios with Rob Ryan Mark Willard.
We have just been informed that the weekly flyover at
the stuff Hub Center for Chargers Redskins later today has

(01:12:58):
been released. Here's what it'll say today. Dean Spanhouse, the
Grinch who stole the San Diego Chargers. That is today's
flyover of the stub Hub Center. That's uh, you know,
that's timely. I mean you got the Christmas holidays and everything. Yeah,

(01:13:20):
you know that's interesting. Well, I mean it's the biggest game.
It's just crazy how they say keeps going like this,
Like these guys are are in the middle of a huge,
you know game, you know, and uh, it's it's crazy. Well,
I'll tell you what. This is something that's been discussed
about this team. I think they figured it out. In
other words, there was something at the beginning of the

(01:13:42):
year where I think this was jarring to them. All
said it this week is that we don't have home games. Okay,
so it was jarring to them. They were, they were
all in four. But then I think in some sort
of a way it galvanized them. I think they're using
it as as fuel and they've gone six and two
since then and they got something going now. No, it's amazing.

(01:14:04):
And look, if they don't fumble against Jacksonville running the
clock out, that's seven wins in a row they would
have had. I mean, this is it's unbelievable. Uh. You know,
these guys have handled every adversity. They miss field goals
or they you know, would have been you know, two
more wins at least, and they keep getting better. And

(01:14:25):
and Philip Rivers has found the fountain a youth. I mean,
he looks fantastic. His leadership has been outstanding. Keenan Allen
has been phenomenal. Uh, you know, obviously the defense, you
can't say enough good things about them, and and through
it all, Uh, Anthony Lynn has kept those guys you
know together and and they really have a heck of
a football team. Another field goal is flying through the

(01:14:47):
uprights right now. Last somehow they're holding the field goal
every snap. I don't know if they've puntied yet, but
they have not punned, although Alex Smith just missed an
open receiver in the end zone on the third down play.
So uh, the Raiders, you know, I don't know if
you're quote unquote in the game when you're down by
nineteen points, but they probably should be down by thirty points.

(01:15:09):
So they got that calling for him, which is nice. Yeah,
then that is good. Uh, they need some of that
magic they had last year. You know when they come
back and win in the fourth quarter. I mean you know,
that's what they did all last year. Yea, yeah, Well,
and I thought that was actually one of the reasons
why they might have been a little overhyped at the
beginning of this year, is what they did last year. Uh. Note,
and taking nothing away from it, it's not sustainable, like

(01:15:31):
when all of your games are we won by one,
and we won by two, and there's this miracle play
in that miracle play and you go twelve and four.
Whatever they were last year, You're not gonna do that again,
you know they are. Yeah. Yeah. The only ones you
ever see consistently win those type of games are New England.
You know, New England always finds a way. But you're

(01:15:51):
exactly right, when everything goes for you like it did
last year, you're obviously gonna get let let down, kind
of like they've had this year. Okay, fantasy scoring update
in a second, but we do need to talk about
something that happened in the Houston game, and there is
now video surfacing on the Internet of a play concerning
Tom Savage, the quarterback for the Houston Texans. He was

(01:16:11):
sacked or at least hit hard on a certain play
and on the back of his head hit the turf,
and he appears in the aftermath to suffer a mild
brief seizure. His body locks up, his arms are shaking
briefly on the field. You see an official go right
over to him and clearly expressed concern. Savage did leave

(01:16:33):
the game, but get this coach, five minutes later, he
came back in. He has now been ruled out for
the game. T J Yates is in there, He's got
the touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins. But this is gonna
be another big discussion, I think after this week. How
does a guy who has that happened on the field
not immediately end up being taken out of the game.

(01:16:55):
How does he come back in? That's crazy? I mean
that you talk about some people's tails are on the
line for that. I mean, you you have doctors there.
First of all, how does that official even let this
kid back if he saw that you're you're you're taking
him out for the game out here? What anybody says,
he he was right there in front of it, saw

(01:17:15):
it happen. But that's no excuse for Houston. I mean, uh,
you know, did they not see that? Obviously they didn't.
They tested them. It's okay, you've got three fingers, Okay,
you can continue. I mean, you know, that's it's just terrible.
I mean, this is this is a guy's like, this
is a seizure. This is a major deal here. This
you know, when you hit the back of your head

(01:17:36):
on the ground like that, I mean, that's that's so dangerous.
And this kid's back out there in the field. And
I think there still needs to be maybe some more
transparency as far as what's actually going on inside those tents.
You know, they pulled the tent over the guy now,
and I know there's supposed to be an independent neurologist
in there and whatnot, but we've now seen Russell Wilson
and Tom Savage, and those aren't the only ones who

(01:17:59):
suffer some thing that appears to be a concussion or
at least you know, possibly they go in there, fly
right back out on the field, and then uh and
then get ruled out later, and uh, so you're just
wondering what it is those neurologists and medical personnel on
the sideline, what what is it they're doing, or what
is it they're not seeing that they should be seeing. Right,

(01:18:19):
Maybe it's the tape. Maybe they're not seeing the actual tape.
That's that's a good point. I mean, they probably need
to see that. And you know, because anybody would have
saw that play, would never let the kid play right.
And we know that symptoms in concussion sometimes are delayed.
Sometimes you don't feel until the next day. But it
doesn't mean they're not there, and it doesn't mean that
these guys shouldn't be off the field. So that one

(01:18:41):
was tough to watch. Uh And that's a situation we're
gonna hear more about throughout the week for sure. All right,
let's do it. Let's get you up today. I know
a lot of you in the playoffs right now. Fantasy ticker.
Here we go, time for the Fox Sports Fantasy ticker. Alright, coach,
the game we normally play as I read off names,
you give me the top sign when I get to

(01:19:01):
one of your guys. But the other question today is
did you even make the playoffs. No, but I got
a game for whatever reason. I don't know, alright, and
who knows. There might be something on the line there.
Maybe I'll catch my stride, Okay, good luck. DeAndre Hopkins
is the leading score on the board. Seven catches ninety

(01:19:21):
one yards in a touchdown for him. Jonathan Stewart the
other big player today. Eight carries is all, but he's
turned that into eighties seven yards and two touchdowns for
the Panthers. How about this Kareem Hunt, he lives there.
He is. Thirteen carries fifty three yards in a touchdown,
three catches twenty two yards. Kareem Hunt his back, ladies

(01:19:42):
and gentlemen. Jamal Williams six carries twenty seven yards, three
catches forty six yards and a touchdown. And then how
about this name on this board, Josh, that's my guy.
Lineup Ryan for first time ever. Three catches sixty nine

(01:20:03):
yards and a touchdown for the Browns who lead in
the third quarter against Green Bay fourteen to seven. Let's
pump up Jordan Howard as well. Twelve carries seventy nine yards,
a touchdown, one catch for eight yards. Also Theo Riddick.
Nice game. Three catches forty five yards. Five runs for
twelve yards included in there's a touchdown. Dez Bryant two

(01:20:25):
catches sixty one yards, one of them went to the
house to Sean Kaiser is your top quarterback on the board.
A d seventy four through the air, two touchdowns, a pick,
and one rush for eight yards as well. Kyle Rudolph
three catches forty one yards, a touchdown, Calvin Benjamin three
catches thirty eight yards had a touchdown. Uh, speaking of touchdowns,

(01:20:47):
there it is Devin Funches from Cam Newton touchdown Carolina Panthers.
That's not a fantasy touchdown. It's a real touchdown. Real
And although if you have Devon Funches and Cam Newton
it counts there too. Yeah there, all right, So there's
your fantasy ticket for the days you just had Gordon.
That was it Brady playing Monday night? Oh well, and
and what could go wrong there? I mean they're playing that.

(01:21:12):
He will do that on a Monday night. Panthers lead
the Vikings. More coming up red zone radio coach. We
had put out the APB. We weren't sure if he
was still alive, but it turns out he is. The
Chiefs do have a putter, and he has been summoned
to the field for the first time today he just
kicked it and then the Raiders called it. What a
thrill that was. And uh, the Chiefs for the first

(01:21:35):
time today have the ball and don't score. And when
you hear that here in the third quarter, you'd think
they were up by you know, thirty one points. They're not.
They're only up by nineteen. But Harrison butt go today
has had four field goals, Kareem Hunt has a touchdown run,
and the Chiefs continue to have no trouble with the Raiders.
The bigger surprises actually the other side of the ball,

(01:21:56):
and that Chiefs defense been stopping No One for the
last month. And uh, here comes Derek carring the Raiders
and they can't move the ball. Twenty five net passing
yards for the Raiders and forty four rushing rushing yards.
I mean, that's it for the entire game. That's sixty
nine yards offense. And here we are six minutes ago

(01:22:16):
in the third quarter. I mean, that's just ridiculous against
the Chiefs, who, like you said, they haven't stopped anybody,
I mean, anybody in a in a month at least.
I mean, just unbelievable. It's uh, it's it's it's crazy.
Cars gotta pick this thing up. They gotta they gotta
start doing something different. Bill goal in the air and
up in good for Carolina. That's a fumble that they

(01:22:38):
turned into three points. So they've now got a two
score lead over the Vikings. Six fifty one to go
third quarter, Panthers lead this game now a long way
to go. But you and I were just talking about this.
I felt coming into today like this was just it
was the Vikings turned to lose. Uh, not that they
can't handle Carolina, but if you look at the last

(01:23:00):
month of their schedule and they've won them all. They
had to host the Rams, then they had to go
on the road to Detroit, and last week went on
the road to Atlanta. That's three really hard football games
and they want them all to now be on the
road for a third straight week against a third straight
quality opponent on the road, fourth straight overall, I just

(01:23:22):
think that the Vikings probably don't have their full punch
with them today and uh, and it's probably gonna lead
to an ending of their winning streak. Yeah, I mean,
you know, and you gotta take your head off to Carolina.
They have looked really good on offense. Camp sent a
great Jeff, but their defense is really stepped up and
and played really well also, so uh, you know, it's

(01:23:42):
it's still third quarter, but it is Carolina. We are
live in the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. Fifteen minutes
could save you fifteen center more on car insurance with
Geico dot com for a free rate quote. Mark Willard,
Rob Ryan Jeff Allen will join with a free selection
from Vegas. Shortly. Do we have a fumble from the

(01:24:03):
Raiders picked up by the Chiefs, Yes, we do, and
that was that's pretty deep in Raiders territory. So they
were just showing the drive results for the Raiders today
and it went like this punt punt, interception, punt punt punt.
That was the six uh um, you know, the six
drive results for them so far. Uh And now you
can add in fumble on the seventh drive and it

(01:24:26):
is picked up by Kansas City and they're gonna have
that ball inside the Raiders thirty yard line, so they're
gonna be in scoring position again. Who was that with
the fumble? That was six white out? That's uh. He
was trying to juke. He wasn't really moving much at all,
and they just stripped it from me. He ducked his
head and was trying to make a move. I guess

(01:24:47):
it's just bad football. Yeah, I think that was actually Crabtree,
now that I look at it, I think I think
that was Michael Crabtree with the fumble. So here comes
the Chiefs with the ball first and ten Raiders twenty
eight yard line. Was it Holton Okay was halting. Alex Smith, however,
picked off on the very next play, So he overthrows
a receiver over the middle. Raider safety is there, makes

(01:25:08):
the interception, and the Raiders will stay second pick it
a year to stay within nineteen points a year. Yeah,
there it is. And Alex Smith, who remember when about
eight or nine weeks to start the year without any
picks at all. Uh, he's suddenly gotten a little bit
more of the pick bug the last month or so. Yeah,
that's a big turnal. Great play by the defense. Great

(01:25:30):
you know to respond that way and looked like you say,
it's nineteen nothing. They're not out of it. Their offense
hasn't moved a lick. But we saw this happen to
him last year. We'll see maybe cark And works some magic. Alright,
Speaking of upset possibilities that are out there, the Chicago
Bears have just scored another touchdown. This one is a
Mitchell Trobisky run for a touchdown and they lead at

(01:25:52):
Cincinnati nineteen to seven. I love the Bear defense and
they brought they brought it with him on this trip
a Cincinnati. Uh. Andy Dalton has not been picked, but
I wonder about the weather and this one as well.
Seven of sixteen for sixty one yards in a touchdown.
That's it for Andy Dalton today. Uh. That just suggests

(01:26:13):
to me they also only have eleven rushes. They're just
not getting any first downs. Coach, that sounds like a
lot of three and ounce to me. Yeah, that that
Bear defense, like you say, is outstanding. Vick Fancio does
a fantastic job, uh you know with that group. And
Leonard Floyd has been out uh you know, but it's
still with a Chem Hicks and those guys. He just
got them playing really well. And I mean shoot to

(01:26:34):
be out there on the road in Cincinnati, Uh, nineteen
seven eight Cincinnati coming off that game against the Steelers,
big emotional game, you know, losing like they did. But man,
this is a bad effort on their part. Then coach,
I will say again that maybe today is the day.
Two minutes forty nine seconds to go, third quarter and
the Browns have scored another touchdown and now lead. They

(01:26:58):
lead over Green Bay twenty one to seven. Deshaun Kaiser
has three touchdown throws on the day, one to Gordon,
one to Duke Johnson, one now to Corey Coleman, who
is back for the Browns. They lead twenty one to seven.
Brett Huntley hasn't turned it over, but hasn't kept the
ball on his side of the field enough. He's sixteen

(01:27:18):
to twenty three for a buck thirty two and a
touchdown throw. Brown's up now by two touchdowns and if
they win this one today. There's two stories obviously. One
of them is that the Browns one and the other
one is that the Packers are done as far as
Aaron Rodgers returning, Uh, you know for a playoff run.
If the Packers lose today, would you even effort in
bringing Aaron Rodgers back for the end of the year. No,

(01:27:41):
I don't think so. I mean, you know, maybe he
joins the team. He practics a little bit. I don't
think you're risk playing him. I don't. I don't think
it would make sense. He's too huge of an investment.
He's their whole team, really, and uh, I don't think
so why why I test that shoulder if you don't
have to give him the extra time to rehab it
well that and and come back ready to go for

(01:28:01):
next season. But yeah, this is a game we talked about.
We knew it going in. You're going into Cleveland, you
have to have that win. But Cleveland has been playing
decent and all the all the thing with the GM
Leavin now the head coach, you know, they got to
look at him differently than they than they were obviously
the weeks past. So uh, you know they're getting a

(01:28:22):
great effort today in their head. Second and goal for
the forty Niners, who now trail Houston sixteen thirteen, UM
Jimmy Garoppolo on a rollout from the seven. He will
throw and that is incomplete off the hands of a
receiver right at the goal line, so that'll bring up
third and goal. The Texans retook the lead in this
game on their opening drive in the second half. T J.

(01:28:43):
Yates is in for Tom Savage, and made a beautiful
throw that was caught by DeAndre Hopkins for his second
touchdown of the game. So remember Savage out because of
a rough hit to his head. Yates has come in.
He's played well. Yeah, he actually he threw three really
good passes on that last drive and like you said,
the touchdown passed to Hopkins. Uh. Pretty good game going there.

(01:29:07):
Yates eight of ten hundred twenty three yards to touchdown throws,
both to Hopkins. So here comes the third and goal play.
This is from the seven yard line. Garoppolo out of
the shotgun, has some time now the pocket breaks down,
He'll roll to us right, directing receivers, throws into the
back of the end zone, and that is incomplete. Ross's
body hall the way. Yeah but he boy, he was

(01:29:28):
a well placed ball. Good one out a shot at it.
No one else did. But this is gonna be the
next question I think for Garoppolo and the forty Niners,
right he he looks so good in Chicago last week,
moved up and down the field. It looks pretty much
the same today in Houston. But they're not scoring touchdowns.
They're getting a lot of field goals. Remember they beat
the Chicago last week all field goals. Today they do

(01:29:50):
have one touchdown run from Carlos Hide, but again they're
on the field goal train. That seems like the one
question that's still left for him running this offense right well,
I mean, you know, it is a new offense for him,
and and obviously looked when you're in the red zone,
it goes on the coaching, it goes on the plane
and and they're gonna have to do a better job, obviously,
But again, this is a new offense. You have to

(01:30:10):
be excited with the job Garoppolo has done. Uh, coming
in it is new form. But he looks so poised.
He looks comfortable with what he's doing, what they're asking
to do. And and he's the one thing you always forget.
He is extremely elusive in that pocket. I mean, guys
coming at him, he's duck in getting out, buying more
time direct and traffic. I mean it looks like a

(01:30:32):
season veteran. Yep, yep. I mean, looks very under control,
accuracy great. Today he does have the one pick, but
fourteen fourteen yards uh, and not yet halfway through the
third quarter. Uh. He has moved the ball well for
San Francisco. Their field goal is good. That game now
tied sixteen to sixteen. Haven't checked in on Dallas and
the Giants as much as of late because there hasn't

(01:30:54):
been much going on on the scoreboard. They're almost done
with the third quarter already and that game remains ten
to ten. And again, Dallas is absolutely gonna have to
have this one if they want to stay alive at
any sort of an NFC playoff picture. And you have
to think the Giants have some sort of an emotional
experience going on with Eli Manning returning and h and

(01:31:15):
a new coaching staff taking over on the sideline, right,
I think so. And you know, Spagnolan has been there forever, uh,
you know, two different stints with the Giants. I think
he's real well respected guy. And look, they're given everything
they got and it's been impressive. I mean it's tintin
there in a heck of a game. Elis looked good, uh,
you know, over that just crazy fiasco last week. They're

(01:31:37):
trying to put that behind him, you know, and and
it looks good. I mean, they're competing in tintin the
heck of a game. Meantime, Minnesota was on the move
into Carolina territory. But case Keenom has just been sacked
on third down, and I think that's gonna take them
out of field goal range as well. Back and I
can't take that. Took that sack down at the forty
yard line now, so if they were to try a

(01:31:59):
field goal, you're looking at fifty seven yards or so.
So that's not what they're gonna do. They'll put it
away and things are starting to get a little uncomfortable
for Minnesota only to seventeen to go third quarter and
they trail at Carolina twenty four to thirteen. Chiefs are
about to take the ball back over from the Raiders
and they're gonna do it well into Raiders territory. Check

(01:32:19):
in on the Chiefs, see if they can actually break
the plane of the goal line at some point. But
they're having a good day, leading the Raiders nineteen to nothing.
That's next on Red Zone Radio. Jacksonville blowout win over Indianapolis.
We had them coltsloaded the box to stop for net
and Blake Bortles delivered twenty six and thirty five and
two touchdowns. Seattle just two and six against the spread.

(01:32:40):
Last eight on Grass Jacksonville just two and five. Against
the spread off a win Seattle four not under the total,
last four in the road Jacksonville five and one under
the total last six. I like this game under for
a small play, the big play, the big money is
my five and oh bail all package for free call
money Hartday eight seven oh twenty two eighty three, Baltimore Pittsburgh,

(01:33:01):
a f C lock of the Year, Tennessee, Arizona, New York, Denver,
l A, Philly five and oh free recorded message one
Hunday eight seven out eighty three two player wins two
thousand tonight. I love the games. You're going five and
oh Pittsburgh Baltimore five and oh five and oh free
or that season free one hundred eight seven oh two

(01:33:22):
eighty three. Mitch Trabiskie to Adam Sheheen, and the rout
is on the Bears in Cincinnati today. Now lead to
seven and here come the Packers. Don't give the Browns

(01:33:43):
a victory just yet. Touchdown Jamal Williams on the ground.
He's got both of the green Bay scores today, one
in the air, one on the ground. And it is
now seven point game Cleveland one, green Bay fourteen twelve
fifty to go in that football game. So down the
stretch we come and there's this update. You just pointed

(01:34:03):
it out. The Raiders got a first down. Yeah. Man,
it's been a long time coming. It's I can't believe
with all that's that's riding on this game to put
out that poor of an effort just been it's been
crazy ball after the catch over the middle, but it's
picked up by money Lynch there. Oh, they're gonna call

(01:34:25):
that incomplete. That was close. The Niners just had a
big play they did. They're tight end, tight end over
the middle and he's gonna get all the way down
to the red zone. Look at him. Look up at
the big screen to see that was Garrett Selleck with
a big play. The forty Niners and Texans are tied
at sixteen. Three minutes to go third quarter and the

(01:34:46):
Niners have the ball in the Houston red zone at
the nineteen with a second down and nine meantime. Vikings
have the ball back in Carolina territory to start the
fourth quarter. They're down by eleven, but they're on the
moon right now. Um, so we're keeping an eye on
that one as well. Um, And we were just talking
about that Bill's Colts game, there's eleven minutes to go.

(01:35:09):
Um At last check. Total for the game twenty two
pass attempts, seventy Russia attempts, driving snow Bills lead the
Colts seven nothing. And you pointed out the last year
when you were the defensive coordinator, you never got any
of these games in Buffalo. Everything was perfect. It was
like what in the heck? It was like beautiful sunny day.

(01:35:31):
It's oh, it's mild, it's in the fifties. Like what
I'm in Buffalo here. We could have used the weather.
At the end of the year, you're supposed to get
that terrible weather, you know, and we never got it once.
And now these guys get the biggest snow storm and
wind and all that other stuff, and and uh shoot,
it's help them. They got to seven points, so, uh

(01:35:51):
that probably wins seven nothing and that's a that's a
huge win. They really needed it. Um Garoppolo throws incomplete
on the second downplay there in Houston, but there's a
flag down. Something tells me this is gonna be a
defensive hold because where Garoppolo threw it there was no
receiver at all. Uh, keep you up to date there
in Minnesota lining up for what is a long field
goal attaped. This one is gonna be a full fifty

(01:36:14):
four yards to make it an eight point game, and
that was just yanked straight left. I don't know if
somebody got a hand on that or not, but either way,
not close, no good. Carolina continues to lead fourteen twenty
left to go. So were you doing like rain dances
or like what would you do on a Thursday or

(01:36:35):
Friday going into a weekend in Buffalo? Well, I mean
I was doing a lot of praying, but obviously it
wasn't and I should uh tried something different. But now
it was just strange because you know how Buffalo's weather
is always terrible, and uh, it was just a weird
year at you know, and never got one bad day
the entire year there, and then uh, you know, we

(01:36:57):
get fired and sent our sent on our ways we
could use. There was a hold on Houston, creating a
first down for the Niners. But what do they do
with the first down? They commit a holding penalty of
their own, So now they're going backwards and actually momentarily
back out of the red zone for this first down,
and now twenty again tie game sixteen sixteen San Francisco

(01:37:18):
and Houston. You were mentioning the Raiders and being able
to get a first down end of the third quarter.
In Kansas City, the Chiefs lead the twenties six to nothing.
Here are the numbers for Derek Carr, eleven of twenty three,
sixty nine yards, no touchdowns. He also has a pick.
So I'm looking at two high profile teams and last

(01:37:40):
year their quarterbacks were considered the Bee's knees. Like these
guys were the you know, the young up and coming
quarterbacks who were going to take the mantle from Tom
Brady and Drew Brees and run with it in the NFL.
And I wonder what you think about the current status
of that. I'm talking about Derek Carr and I'm talking
about Dark Scott. Uh. They have struggled certainly in the

(01:38:04):
last month or so, if not the entire year, right,
I mean, it's uh, it's just one of those things.
Car just you know, they replaced the offensive coordinator and
you know, I know they had this guru, uh quarterback
coach they promoted they like a lot, but it just
he looks like he's been out of sync all year. Really,
does I know? He had the injury. Then he came back,

(01:38:26):
but he had a couple three hundred yard games, but
he has not looked like himself. And of course you
know Cooper was dropping the football, you know in those
type of things. Then they're playing games where they never
threw the ball down the field the entire game. Remember
that against uh I think it was the Chargers or
uh uh Seattle. They just never threw the ball down
the field once and it was just strange. They've had

(01:38:48):
a strange year that way. And and Dak Prescott obviously
with Ezekiel Elliott being out now he's had to do more. Uh.
I still think he's good quarterback. I think you know,
they've they've got to stay a little more committed to
the run. Though. They can't just abandon that. It's what
they do. But but Prescott doesn't have the weapons, the

(01:39:10):
vertical receivers, and I think that's really showing up more
than say he's not playing well. Yeah, when Ezekiel Elliott's
not in and with what's happened to Dez Bryan, very
quickly the Cowboys become a team where you look at
him and go, so, who are their weapons? I mean,
Derek Carr doesn't have that excuse. I know Loop, I
know Cooper had a hard start to the year, but

(01:39:31):
he's got Cooper, he's got Croptree, he's got Jared Cook,
he's got Marshawn Lynch, he's got weapons in Dallas. When
Elliot's not in there, it becomes kind of black pretty quick,
it really does. And and uh, you know that's why
I think Prescott still does some good things. And and
it's just I think cars having a bad year. I
think that whole outfit needs to regroup and and get

(01:39:53):
going again. But uh, he just had and looked like himself.
I mean, he was so good last year. I got
I mean coming back doing all the things, and then
he took that team on on you know, his shoulders,
and ran with it. And I mean he really was
a m v P type of candidate, but not this year.
Touchdown forty niners. That one goes from Garoppolo to Garrett Selleck,

(01:40:15):
who had the big play to get him into territory.
Then he gets the touchdown as well. Garoppolo now seventeen yards,
a touchdown in a pick and a lead twenty three
to sixteen in Houston, just under two minutes to go.
In the third quarter. There so plenty of time left
and remember t J. Yates is in for Tom Savage

(01:40:35):
although he has played well, so plenty of time left
to go in that game. Uh you tell me, uh,
when is it too early to get excited about what
you're seeing from Jimmy Garoppolo. I mean, you can certainly
get excited, but I mean, you know, let me ask
it this way. What we've seen in in about two
games here would this make you? If you're the forty niners?

(01:40:58):
Instead of maybe using the France has tagged to look
at another year, are you maybe ready this offseason to
just go ahead and sign up for five years? I
would fake So. I mean, he's a young player, but
I mean it surprised me when there was talk that
they weren't looking for a long term deal with him.
That that surprised me because you made a move, you
got a good trade there, you traded your second round

(01:41:19):
pick and got cropped. I was I was shocked by
hearing that news. Now then here this week, John Lynch,
the general manager, comes out and says, if Garoppolo was
quarterback in fort in Tampa, we would have won five
Super Bowls. So apparently he's pretty impressed. Yeah, so I
kind of like this chances again a long term deal. Yeah,

(01:41:41):
I think Garoppolo's agent and if they're crazy and exactly, Um,
so the Niners have their answer there. So it looks like,
I mean, not a lot of weapons around him, and
he's put up good numbers. Remember through for about three
hundred yards last week in Chicago. Now he's doing it
again today. These are all road games. He's doing it
all being thrown into an offense that we keep hearing

(01:42:02):
takes a while to learn. Took Matt Ryan a year.
He's being thrown in looks really really good. So, um
sixty Niners lead at Houston. That Buffalo Indianapolis game is
going really fast because no one's thrown the ball. There's
only five minutes left to go. Buffalo leads seven and nothing.
But get this, coach, the Colts have the ball in

(01:42:23):
Buffalo territory. At least we think we can't see the field,
but it appears they have crossed the fifty yard line.
Jacoby Brissette has hit the fifty yard mark throwing the
ball today eight of fifteen for fifty yards. There are
a total of thirteen completions in this entire football game. Wow,
that's something that's Uh, that wind must be really howling

(01:42:43):
out there. I know Shady had a good day rushing. Yeah,
Shady's at a hundred twenty two yards. Gore's at a
hundred four on the other side, So both the running
backs have gone well over a hundred yards. The team's
well over a hundred yards, but not much in the
way of scoring as a yet. Buffalo leads that one seven. Enough,
let's check in on Tampa Bay Alliance had gone up seven,

(01:43:03):
but the Bucks just scored again and it is now
a twenty one to thirteen game. Jamis Winston hits O. J.
Howard in this one touchdown. Extra points still needs to
be converted, but that's gonna make that a seven point game. Winston, Uh,
very good completion percentage today, same for Stafford, but both
of them have been picked off twice. And uh, you

(01:43:25):
know again were Winston and Mariota because of Winston golf.
We keep looking at these guys, going where's the consistency.
It has been a little a little wobbly at times
again for Winston today, right and and you know, going
into the end of the year, I think they were
the favorites to win that division, and uh, and they've
had a hard time. But it's not just Winston. I

(01:43:45):
mean their defense it was pretty decent. It got you know,
was was playing really good football towards the end of
the year. Uh. You know, they have been terrible, dead
last in the league in defense this year. So, uh,
the whole team's not playing as well. But hey, they're
gonna keep competing. Plenty of time still uh to go

(01:44:05):
in that game. But Winston's already got two hundred sixty
three yards passing, so uh, you know, he does put
up numbers, and he usually puts him up in the
second half. Chiefsa on the move in Raiders territory again.
We'll take in on that in a second. But let's
get David Gascon in here and get you all the scores,
everything that's going on around the world today. Oh it's
still Ilo. Hey, Ilo, I actually locked the door of

(01:44:26):
their here. Why isn't he allowed to speak? You put
a muzzle on. You can faintly hear him desperately pounding
on the door in the background. Hopefully I can keep
him at bay for another ninety seconds. The Carolina Panthers,
hoping to keep the Minnesota Vikings at bay for another
eleven forty seven. The Panthers lead to twenty four to

(01:44:47):
thirteen over Minnesota in the fourth quarter with the Vikings
eight game winning streak on the line. However, Minnesota has
committed two turnovers in this game, leading to tenant Carolina points.
They just missed a fifty four yard field goal by
Kai war Bath and case Keenum has been sacked a
season high four times. The Kansas City Chiefs have extended
it to a twenty six to nothing lead over the

(01:45:09):
Raiders three and a half of the fourth quarter on
a thirteen yard touchdown run by chart Kendrick West. Great news,
there's a quick way you could save money. Switched to Geico.
Go to Geico Dot comment in fifteen minutes, you could
say fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Cowboys and
Giants remain tied at ten, five and a half out
of the fourth quarter. Could this be the day that
the Cleveland Browns get their first victory of the season.

(01:45:31):
They have a twenty one to fourteen lead over the
Green Bay Packers just under five out of the fourth
quarter thanks to this Stuke Chotson slot right Coleman wide
right three receivers left, kaiser shot, gut takes, the staff
looks right, drops deeper, throws into the episode. Call it
the live touchdown. It's Jim Donovan the call on w
k and are in a related story, that's the first

(01:45:54):
time Fox Sports Radio has played at Cleveland Browns highlights
since four Lions up twenty one to four team at
Tampa Bay. They're just over a minute into the fourth quarter.
The Bills in frigid, snowy Buffalo still leave the Colts
seven or nothing, three minutes left to play in the
fourth The forty Niners, on a six yard touchdown pass
from Jimmy Garoppolo to Garrett sellec have a twenty three

(01:46:15):
to sixteen lead at Houston, one twenty left to play
in the fourth quarter, and the Chicago Bears, on a
one yard touchdown pass by Mitch Trabiski to Adam Shaheen,
have a twenty six to seven lead at Cincinnati three
and a half minutes left to play in the fourth quarter.
Their guys, all right, Illo, great stuff today, Appreciate it. Love.

Salvation Army fight for those in need all over our community.

(01:46:38):
This Christmas. It's like going to Fox Sports Radio dot
com clicking the red kettle icon to donator call one
eight three three sal join s A L j O
I N much appreciation. Uh, if you would make that
call this holiday season, Mark Willard, rob Ryan, Red Zone Radio.
Here go of the Vikings, Stefon Diggs with a catch

(01:47:00):
that's gonna get it up to midfield. We're gonna keep
an eye on the finish of this game. It's a
big game. Implications all over the place. Uh, Carolina twenty four,
Vikings third team, but the Vikings on the move here
early fourth quarter, now up toward midfield with a first down.
I'll tell you what. Uh if you're the Packers, if
you're Aaron Rodgers, it's critical mass. Your team is losing

(01:47:22):
in Cleveland. Carolina is winning against Minnesota. Uh. If if
you're Detroit, if you're Green Bay, um, if you are Dallas,
you're looking at the Vikings right now and begging for
them to make a comeback here in the fourth quarter.
Because the NFC this year has a feel of four
division winners and wild card teams that could have maybe

(01:47:44):
as much as eleven or even twelve wins. It's unbelievable.
I mean, you know, there's a lot of really good
teams here. Uh like you're saying, these teams that are
watching them are pretty decent teams. And the Lions have
a soft schedule, so they're gonna win some more games.
But again, can they you know, contend get you in?
I don't know. And h with Carolina winning if they

(01:48:05):
can hold on, you know that hurts him. But look,
Minnesota's driving and you know Zimmer is gonna have that
team all the way down to the wire. Forty Niners
able to stop Houston on their most recent drive, so
they've got it back. They're well backed up in their
own territory. But final ticks of the third quarter and
the forty Niners have the ball and the lead. When's

(01:48:26):
the last time you remember the forty Niners having twenty
three points on the board and it wasn't even the
fourth quarter yet. I do remember that one game against
the Rams on Thursday, huge scoring game. But it's just
not a team that's been able to move the football.
And it looks very different now with Garoppolo at the
at the controls. It sure does. I mean, this is exciting,
and look for a while they were exciting, but they lose. Uh.

(01:48:49):
This guy is exciting in their winning so I mean
uh uh. He's fun to watch and they really do
have something special here. He's finally getting a chance to
play besides the preseason and he looks great. Um So,
condolences to all fantasy players in their playoffs who are
going against Jordan Howard today. Jordan Howard has just gone
in for his second touchdown of the day. It is

(01:49:11):
over in Cincinnati. Forget it. The Bengals who let that
game against Pittsburgh slip away earlier this week. Combine that
with a hangover loss against Chicago at home, and that's
a rap on their season. Is they're gonna fall to
five and eight? And why can't I be so definitive
when there's ten minutes to go in the game. Well,
because the score is thirty two to seven. Chicago has

(01:49:34):
just trucked him today and Jordan Howard's the main reason
why twenty two carries one hundred forties seven yards and
two touchdowns for Jordan's Howard and the Bears route is on. Okay.
Touchdown for the Dallas Cowboys is that Jason Witten. Yes,
it is Witton who's gonna put one on the board
and give the Cowboys a sixteen to ten lead at

(01:49:58):
New York with about seven and a half minutes left
to go, so extra point on the way. That was
a big time drive right there by dark Prescott. Yeah,
I mean, they gotta have this game if they have
any hope at all, which you know, I think when
they lost to the Chargers, I think that was about
infor him. But uh, this has been a heck of
a game, you know, seventeen ten. Now it's up to

(01:50:20):
Eli coming back, starting again, see if he can move
that team. But uh, look, this certainly was a good
job by Prescott. He's he's been playing well and and
gets old reliable there witting on a great move up
to the up up the seam after a uh stick move.
Great job by Witt, and he's done that a hundred years.
The Raiders trying to get something going, and it looks

(01:50:42):
like they've got a first out in about the Kansas
City twenty one. But the clock right now, uh makes
it just about unthinkable that they're gonna be able to
do anything. As they trailed twenty six to nothing. Colts
on the three get out of here, Get out of
here at the two minute warning. Hey, let's yank that
one up here. Let's see Coles. Let's see Colts and

(01:51:03):
Bills seven to nothing. Bills lead at the two minute
warning in the fourth quarter, but the Colts have a
first in goal at the three yard line, mainly courtesy
of Frank Gore, who at his age has got thirty
three totes today thirty three Marshawn Lynch touchdown Oakland. Beautiful

(01:51:23):
run by him, made some guys missing the open field.
D did not want attack, They had no interest and
with a twenty six point lead, what the hell that?
I think what they said to him is as he
was running by, they're like, hey, thanks for helping Marcus
Peters out a few weeks ago. How about a touchdown?
And so they let him score. Yeah, look at these

(01:51:45):
two d vs he's looking for. We'll pass. Okay, it's
a touchdown for the Colts, and yes they are. Coach,
They're going for two to Kobe Bruce set throws it
to Jack Doyle, touchdown, seven six minute, sixteen to go.

(01:52:06):
And I like this call. I don't think you well,
not even just what the hell. I don't think you
could kick an extra there's there's two ft of snow
sitting on the ground. Um, they're gonna call time out
before it happens. But the Colts are gonna go for
two and they're either gonna lose seven to six or
they're gonna win eight to seven today. Yeah, well, I
mean that's that's great because shoot, that's this crazy conditions.

(01:52:29):
You should it blew the time out though you're gonna
call time out, you want to get up to the line,
take a look at what the defense was giving you,
then call the time out right now, they don't know,
you know exactly what Buffalo is gonna give. All right,
We're gonna stay with you until we get this two
point conversion in Buffalo. Meantime, the Panthers have the ball
back and the clock is ticking underneath eight and a

(01:52:52):
half to go now and they continue to lead by eleven.
So here it comes Brissette onto the field for the
two pointers, but not the Yeah, the Bills are I
don't blame them, all right, what do you see here, coach?
On the lineup both sides of the ball, it looks
like they're in three wides. They get this tied in
out there close and now we're gonna get a time

(01:53:14):
out on the other side of the ball. Now it's Buffalo.
I think doing what you said the time out was
bonding Kodak time out. Take a picture of them, See
what they're in, See what you're thinking. And now now
you've got a chance to talk it over with your
defense and what you anticipate from that formation. Now, they
may not come back with a totally different one, but again,

(01:53:34):
this was their first choice for the two point play.
So that's good. Good time out there by uh uh,
Buffalo Bills. We'll keep an eye on the Giants as well,
who have quickly come out of the gate here getting
the ball back after the cowboy touchdown, and they moved
it up beyond their own forties. So they're out to
their forty two yard line, trailing seventeen to ten, plenty
of time on the clock, just under six and a

(01:53:56):
half minutes. Eli Manning second down throw was dropped, dropped
by Evan Ingram, and so that's going to create a
third and four. Here's the two pointer per set out
of the shotgun fakes to Marlon Mack. He got it.
Point conversion is good and they lead the Bills eight

(01:54:18):
to seven. Yes, still a minute sixteen to go. But
let's say the two minute conditions are not and with
all the fifty yards, you'd have a hard one in
this stuff. These guys it takes them thirty seconds to
even get off the field. They look at the Oh
my goodness, Okay, here it goes. So the Bills coming

(01:54:39):
back out onto the field to see if some sort
of miracle can happen. We'll bring it to you live
coming up there. Yeah, the officials are talking about something
before we go here. Let's see what they're calling. The
two point conversion is already on the board. As far
as the scoreboard is concerned. I don't know what's being discussed.
We'll figure it out. Coming up seven Colts lead the Bills.

(01:55:01):
Fox Sports Radio. All right, we have just a few
things to update, would you say, Geico, Fox Sports Radio
Studios with Rob Ryan Mark Willard. So when we left you,
the Colts had just gotten a two point conversion to
take the eight seven lead on the Bills. However, after
about a seven minute discussion, officials through a offensive pass

(01:55:26):
interference flag. It looked like a pick play to me,
But I'm learning from you about the rules. What's the
rule you got a two yard cushion where you can
run a pick, a legal pick, even though it is
a pick, but it's legal. And uh, I don't think
he was in the end zone by any stretch. I
think it's crazy they called that. And then it forces

(01:55:46):
Vinitary to kick an extra point and an extra point
from after all of the after all of the penalty
snow storm, and they, yeah, the big offensive line guys
are out there for three minutes kicking snow around, trying
to make a spot for him. So from forty three
yards in two feet of snow, Adam Minitary down seven six,

(01:56:09):
needed the extra point for a tie, And this is
what it sounded like. And I's gonna try for a
miracle extra pump. Leaning off your shoes, Sanchez will hold
snap ball down. Adam's kick is on the way, it is.
He got it, he made it, He made it. He
kicks it from forty three and we're tied at seven.

(01:56:30):
I mean, there's there's no crowd noise because you can
tell the broadcasters have the window closed. Nobody can speak.
Everybody's frozen shut. And the game is tied at seven.
There is still a little bit over a minute to go,
and the Bills now have the ball. Uh, and they're
trying to run down the field. I have no idea
where they are on the field intercept, but the Colts

(01:56:50):
have just intercepted it. And Adam been a Terry's gonna
come kick a sixty yard field goal in the snow
and get I mean, he's the best kicker of all time.
Seconds here, you gotta do something, you gotta you gotta
move it down a little bit. By the way, that
was not Peterman who threw that interception. That's Web. Why
is Peterman not in the game. Well, they've been doing

(01:57:11):
that a little bit. I know they've been been playing
two guys. Well maybe he's been in there more than
the other game. Web, who was oh of three before
this drive, is now one of five with that pick.
And so okay, Peterman got knocked out of the game earlier.
So now we've got a seven seven game, and uh,

(01:57:33):
the Colts have the ball somewhere in Bill's territory. But oh,
there is another flag, so we'll look at that meantime.
Check it out, coach the Vikings. The Vikings just made
it two one, a feeling touchdown, a two point conversion,
and they just picked off cam Newton and they now

(01:57:53):
returned that inside the ten first in goal. The Panthers
were up by a lub. He's in high old day.
Kid dropped the balls that McCaffrey just off the fingertips
and it and it recochets to a Viking defender and
it goes to the six yard line. The Vikings were
down eleven with six minutes to go, and in the
blink of an eye they now have an opportunity to

(01:58:15):
take the lead. Unbelievable. That's uh. That team fights like crazy.
I mean they really do. And no one's had a
tougher and they have and they just keep finding ways
to win. This is uh, this is amazing. This this
game is gonna come down. Obviously, he's got the ball left, touchdown.
Jared Cook and the Raiders, after getting an onside kick,
have suddenly sort of made this game here in Kansas City.

(01:58:38):
It's thirteen extra point on the way, seven O nine
to go. More on that in a second. Here's first
and goal for the Vikings. Keenom is gonna handed off
up the middle. Murray is gonna get about a yard.
He'll be stood up at the five yard line. The
Colts are going to spike the ball with six seconds
to go. They're gonna set up in a terry for

(01:58:58):
another shot at this but I have no idea how
long this kick is. This kick is gonna be even
longer than the extra point. I think. By the way,
Vinitary purposefully kicked that extra point out of the range
of the goal post to the right because there's so
much wind, and the wind blew the kick back in.
It was amazing. Um, so more on. It's gonna be

(01:59:21):
forty three yard or this is the exact same length
as the extra point was. Oh my god, he's kicking
from the same spot and they cleared out a couple
of minutes ago, Buffalo. Do you call the time out
to or do you let it go? They do have
one time out left. We'll see what they do. Snap
good and the kick is so good. Nitary is a

(01:59:43):
choke artist? Think he actually he did? He did, and
the wind blew it wide left. There's a second left
on the clock, So this one's going to overtime. Oh
my goodness. I bet the fans are most upset that
they now have to stay. I right, look the bad hold.
See it's a bad snap. And then he couldn't even

(02:00:04):
get the ball done. Yeah, he did have the distance
at curve left, all right. Here's third and goal from
the for the Vikings from the five keen amount of
the shotgun, and he's gonna get sacked, sacked back at
the ten yard line, thrown down like a rag doll.
But the Vikings, because they got that two point conversion,
they can tie it up with a field goal. Still
a very positive fourth quarter here for them. Absolutely, Now

(02:00:25):
that kicker has been a little shaky, this is a
This will be a huge field goal for him. This one, though,
will only be about twenty seven yards. Meantime, the Cowboys
have blown it open in New York Dak Prescott with
two touchdown throws to Rod Smith in the last couple
of minutes, and it's now suddenly twenty nine to ten.
Cowboys are gonna go to seven and six. Here's the

(02:00:46):
field goal attempt, twenty seven yards for the Vikings, and
it is good. It is just inside the left upright.
It is good. We've got a tie game in Carolina
three minutes to go, so we're gonna follow that one.
Coming up next Red Zone Radio down the stretch, we
come live Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios fifteen minutes can

(02:01:09):
save you or more on car insurance Geico dot com
for a free rate quote, death taxes and a Brown's loss.
Although there's a long way to go here. The Packers
have just supposedly gotten the tying touchdown Coach, But look
at that freeze frame right there. I think Brett Hunley
is probably down at the half yard line. It'll still

(02:01:30):
be first in goal though for the Packers at the
half yard line and likely to go in, likely to
tie the game and either send it to overtime or
put it on to Shaun Kaiser. There's only thirty one
seconds left to go in that one, so we're following that.
Here come the Panthers. Uh. Vikings tied them up twenty
four all, but now third and goal for the Panthers

(02:01:52):
at the one, Cam Newton handoff Jonathan Stewart, third touchdown
of the day. Panthers back in front, minute already seven
to go out. That's been a great football one time out. Yeah,
it's sure has. And you gotta love the way the
vikingspot like crazy. But great job by Cam Newton had
that huge run. Must have been a sixty yard running

(02:02:13):
head uh to to bring his team all the way
down into the red zone. Meantime, the Chiefs are trying
to suck the clock out of the Raiders. The Raiders
have gotten started back into this one. It was twenty
six nothing. Now it's the Chiefs are about to punt,
but only two forty five left to go in the game.
The Raiders only have one time out and they're going
to need two scores. Um. I can personally confirm that

(02:02:35):
Jonathan Stewart was across the line there before he fumbled.
Zimmer was out on the field asking for a fumble.
He's not gonna get it. Meantime, look at Shady McCoy,
Shady McCoy in the snow. This game has gone into
overtime in Buffalo, and it's a complete mess. Seven to
seven is the score. And and you immediately look at
this and go, I mean, the likelihood of this ending

(02:02:57):
up in a tie, it's pretty high. Wouldn't had two
huge plays on third down, uh for the Bills. And
now they get this huge second and thirteen run by
Shady bringing up a third and four. This is two
down territory. You're already way down in there, uh by
about the forty yard lines. You know, in Indianapolis Territory.
So two shots to get four yards and snow well,

(02:03:20):
and you also realize so it's on the Colts forty four.
I mean, there's really not much of of a field
goal opportunity. Let's see, that's gonna be about a yard
shy fourth and one. Um, they're just gonna keep running
the ball. I don't even know if the Colts are
gonna get the ball in This overtime started with ten minutes,
it's already under five. Bills still with the ball, all right.

(02:03:42):
They did take the Packard touchdown off the board, but
it get one to Davantae Adams on the very next play,
so it's twenty seventeen seconds to go. Extra point is
going to be the story here. They got to make
that in order to send it into overtime. But even
if the Bills get close, it's like you gotta keep
going until you get a test down. Coach, they're punting

(02:04:04):
the football. I don't buy it. I don't buy it
that upback is gonna get the ball, isn't he here?
Why on earth would they even line up now? They're
going to call a time out? That's insanity, It's crazy.
I mean, are you kidding me? Are they play dude?

(02:04:24):
Are they playing for the tie? The offense back out there.
I mean, that's just that's ridiculous. Uh, that was bizarre.
That was strange. You'd think it's funny because you can't
do things offensively. However, I'd also say, when you only
need a yard and weather like this, it's almost kind
of easy because the defenders can't come firing through the
hole and stop you. I mean, that's that's what you

(02:04:46):
gotta do. Go with direct ball handling, try to just
smash it in there. And Webb's a good athlete. Maybe
he can even get to sneak for it. But it's
not like anybody's gonna uh, you know, see exact spot,
you know, with that snow exactly, they get anywhere close
first down, all right, Vikings have the ball less than
two minutes to go down. First down, play for case

(02:05:08):
Keenum and he gets sacks and yeah, second and sixteen,
they're going to punt. If this game mattered, everybody would
talk about it a lot tomorrow. It actually does matter
to Buffalo. You don't really buy it, though, do you. Well.
I mean, they have two games against Miami. Those could
be two wins. Yeah, yeah, no, it's a fair point.

(02:05:29):
So maybe they are playing for the tie. Um, let's
see what they're gonna do. Ready to snap this one.
They do still have a time out. Balls at the
Colts forty one yard line. Fourth and one. They do,
they snap it to the punter and he kicks the
darn thing down the field. Isn't that the craziest thing.
He cornered it beautifully. It went out of bounds inside

(02:05:50):
the ten yard line. But doesn't that feel like you
just played for the tie. It's a strange thing. Maybe
they're playing for field position, but man, that's just a
strange thing. You're already in in their territory, you know.
So interesting call, very interesting call. Extra point is good
in Cleveland for the Packers. So it's a one tie

(02:06:12):
and the Browns are gonna go ahead and kneel on
it and send this one into overtime. So the Browns,
uh man, you knew no win would come easy. They
were up seven in the second half, but Brett Hunley
brings the Packers back and ties it. Here's the game
in Carolina. Fourth and sixteen for the Vikings at their
own sixteen. Keenom over the middle and it is broken

(02:06:34):
up incomplete. He had Feeland open, but a good recovery
and the Panthers are gonna survive and knock the Vikings
down again. More bad news for all teams chasing wild
card spots, bad news packers, bad news cowboys in that
the Panthers have just knocked another win. Yeah, I mean,
that's uh shooting that. That West race is still wide open.

(02:06:55):
That NFC West. You've got New Orleans, but you've got
Carolina right there. Who New Orleans is eaten twice but
right there, and the Falcons still get to play the Saints.
So I mean, that's a crazy division where you might
actually have three playoff teams. Yep. NFC South right now
looks like this New Orleans nine and four Panthers are
going to Yeah, Panthers are gonna join them at nine

(02:07:15):
and four, Sts still in first place by virtue of
the two wins over Carolina this year, and the Falcons
just a game back at eight and five, and you know,
there's all those division games still ahead, so that one
is wild and and they may take care of all
the playoffs by themselves, although uh, let's not leave Seattle
out of the conversation. They got a hell of a
game coming up here at Jacksonville. Pretty soon they're eight

(02:07:37):
and four, rams nine and three. You know, the Eagles
are gonna handle their stuff. In the NFC East and Less,
something really strange happens all right over time in Buffalo.
The Colts now have the ball. Jacoby Brissett is gonna
overthrow Jack Doyle on first down. So now it is
incomplete second and ten, only two fifty five to go.
Maybe the Bills are thinking get the ball deep in

(02:07:59):
the territory and just hope for a turnover. Yeah, I'm
not sure. Frank Gorgeous ripped him for a ten yard run,
so uh yeah, I'm not sure what they were thinking
that that was. That was strange in my opinion, but hey,
that's the way it is. Yeah, yeah, that's where it
is for the win. I mean, you got an athletic

(02:08:20):
quarterback and you get Shady McCoy. It's uh, it's interesting,
all right. So it's a finally Caroline A thirty four.
Here's the second down player. Oh he almost is right
in the hands of the Buffalo defender and uh he
could not get his hands on it. Um, so it'll
be third down coming up. Raiders have the ball. They're
trying to stay alive in Kansas City, only a buck

(02:08:42):
twenty three to go. Um, they are just shy of
midfield right now and down by eleven, so they need
a touchdown or a field goal then and on sidekick
and another score there there in rupt spot. Forty Niners
have added a field goal, taken a ten point lead
in Houston three fifty to go. Texans with the ball,
but San Francisco up twenty six to sixteen there and

(02:09:04):
Cleveland's gonna have the ball first in overtime. Let's also mention, uh,
Detroit Tampa Bay, if we could get Detroit Tampa Bay.
Is the score Lions ball in Tampa territory? Third and
one at the twenty seven, so in field goal range there, um,
And so the Lions might have an opportunity to win

(02:09:26):
this one in regulation. We'll get you up to date
on that. So here's the Colts now, fourth down two
and a half to go, and they're gonna line up
to punt. They're still backed up in their own territory. Uh,
what happens here? Yeah? Alright, so fourth and four and uh,
the Colts are going to line up to punt, and

(02:09:48):
what scares you. Here is the ball handling aspect of
the punt. If you drop something, the Bills are in
really good spots, So you know what if that were
to happen, maybe there's a method to the madness. Again,
throw the ball deep in the territory and hope for
something to have up. And that's what you gotta do
on a day like today. Yeah, they made they made
some really good runs with web the last time they
had the football, So you know, she was gonna be

(02:10:08):
hard hard to kick a field goal in this stuff,
but you never know. Maybe a bad snap. All right,
Prator in Tampa Bay forty six yard field goal, twenty
five seconds left to go, lining it up. It is
on the way, and it is good. It is good.
So the Lions take a lead at Tampa. Twenty seconds

(02:10:29):
left for Tampa. That's all they've got, uh as they
get the ball back to see what they can do.
Let's take a look at this punt from the Colts.
Ball handling is good, kick is away is actually a
nice kick. It'll just land and flop in the snow
right there. I'm guessing that's that's like the thirty five
yard line for for Buffalo. But I have no idea,

(02:10:51):
to be honest with you, you can't see a darn pain.
But here it comes. Webb back out on the field
against seven seven tie there in overtime, in absolute blue
zud conditions in Buffalo, Man, I tell you what, just
just use my intuition. Man I just uh just hucks
up against the wall. It's stock there you go. Uh.

(02:11:13):
The Raiders are moving the ball, but they're down to
forty six seconds there. Let's take a look at the
first Buffalo Bills play here, and then we'll pause and
get you up to date with Green Band Cleveland. In overtime,
Browns have the ball first here it is first and
ten for Webb. He's gonna throw and it's complete for
a game of a yard. Very exciting stuff, all right,

(02:11:35):
it's dangerous to throw it out there now for one yard.
Derek Carr intercepted at the goal line by the Chiefs.
Take a knee, Yes they do. That will be a
rap as the Chiefs are going to maintain first place
in the a f C West for right now. Chargers,
Redskins getting started your momentarily get you up to date
on all those afternoon games in a moment, Mark Willard

(02:11:56):
rob Ryan written, Shady McCoy three yards touchdown. It took
him four minutes to run the twenty three yards, but
he got there safety doing so deep you literally cannot
see anything below his knees. And there's the snow. There's

(02:12:17):
the snow angels that we asked for. The Buffalo Bills
have defeated the Indianapolis Colts thirteen to seven. Great game.
They're not gonna make him kick the extra point. Everybody
go home, be safe. Bills thirteen huge seven is a huge.

(02:12:37):
Oh man, you're right. The Bills are seven and six
and in the a f C. That's you know, the
Ravens right now lead for that second wild card spot,
but they're only seven and five. They got to play
Pittsburgh tonight. Yeah, you know, and they don't have an offense,
you know, so they have they have a great h
a great defense, but they don't have an offense, so

(02:12:58):
anything can happen. I tell what, you know you think
about that second wild card spot? I know that the
uh the you know, if the Ravens do lose to
Pittsburgh tonight, that would make them both seven and six
and then don't forget about whatever doesn't come out of
the a f C West like the Charges are already
up three nothing at home against Washington. They're about to
get the ball back if they go ahead and win

(02:13:19):
this one. Kansas City has defeated the Raiders. That would
be the Chargers and Chiefs of both seven and six
as well. Now one of them will lose next week.
But whoever loses that still in the conversation, very much so,
because the Chargers beat the Bills and meanstime started interrupt
touchdown Davante Adams in overtime and the Browns perfection continues

(02:13:41):
ball game and this was coming off of a Deshaun
Kaiser interception. Yeah, well, hey, I mean they had it.
They're up, they're up two touchdowns things, you're going great,
But you gotta take your hat off to uh Huntley
did a good job bringing them back. And then uh,
you know, the Matthews hits the quarterbacks arm interception in
and overtime they go right down and score a huge win.

(02:14:03):
Now Aaron Rodgers can come back. Well that's right. Uh
maybe Carol. Yeah, although again Carolina Carolina winning today along
with Atlanta winning on Thursday. We'll see what Seattle does.
But I still think the Packers having and the Cowboys
who have gotten to seven and six have a very
very difficult road. They had the Lions, it's official. They

(02:14:24):
beat the Bucks. So all those six and six teams
they all won today. But the bad news for them
is that so did Carolina Seattle yet to play. I
just I look at this right now, coach, I gotta
be honest with you. I don't think ten and six
can be enough. I think you've gotta get to eleven.
And there's no way the Cowboys, Lions, and Packers are
doing that because Mad mathematically became no, that's exactly right.

(02:14:47):
So Green Bay's got a decision to make, that's for sure. Yeah. Well,
I mean, as long as you're still in it, I
think they could potentially bring him back. Um, but going
back to that Buffalo conversation, how realistic of a playoff
race do you think this is? You You've talked a
couple of times about their seven and six now and
have two games remaining against the Dolphins. Remember, the one

(02:15:08):
game that's not against the Dolphins is a trip to
New England. Right, So I'm gonna go ahead and let's
just say, for argument's sake, they're actually not seven and six. There,
seven and seven, they've got to win both those games
against Miami and then hope things fall their way. Yeah,
and I mean those are those are two games that
you know, shoot, they've been ahead of them all season long.
The Dolphins aren't playing very well. So I mean, that's

(02:15:30):
that's two games that if you want to be in
the playoffs, you gotta beat those two teams. And that's
a realistic chance right there. I mean, you know, uh,
if they get Tyrod Taylor back, you know, get him
going playing quarterback, get Benjamin healthy he got injured late
in the game, Uh, Shady looked fantastic. So yeah, and
you think about a potential like what if that last

(02:15:52):
wild card spot was a race between multiple nine and
seven teams. Let's say the Bills in Kansas City both
end up nine and seven. Bills have a head to
head win there, but if the Bills and Chargers both
end up nine and seven, the Chargers have a head
to head win there, so they'd have the tiebreaker over
Kansas City, they would not have it over the Chargers.
They did not play the Ravens uh this year, so

(02:16:14):
there's there's no way to know at this point who
would win the tiebreaker. There. How about this, coach. The
Denver Broncos are hosting the Jets today and they are
only eight minutes into this game. It's ten nothing Denver.
It is ten nothing for Denver, and Trevor Simeon has
a touchdown pass it went to de Marius Thomas. He's

(02:16:35):
five of eight for sixty five yards and a score. Yeah.
So far the Jets have not even attempted a pass
and so a very quick ten nothing advantage for the
Broncos today. Well, they needed it. I mean, they need
a great start and they need a big win. So
because shoot, they've lost I think seven or eight in
a row. I mean they need this game so bad.

(02:16:56):
Morning session Now all final Bears easy win over the
Bengals thirty three to seven. Yeah, Jordan Howard, a huge day.
Uh you've liked the Bears defense all year, haven't you? Oh?
I really have. And I think Fangio does a great job.
And uh look the quarterback and young quarterback doing a
pretty good job. I mean, uh, you know, so they

(02:17:16):
got some excitement out there, and you know they need
some receivers. Obviously they don't have anything. They get thirty
three points I'm sure. Uh. They had a great game
on offense over four hundred yards against the Bengals who
have a good defense. Uh, and they absolutely shut them down. Uh.
One hundred and fifty yards offense for the Bengals. I
mean that is a great job by that Chicago Bear defense.

(02:17:37):
Remember there was no Joe Mixing in this game for
the Bengals, But I think the lead story out of
it outside of the fact that Jordan Howard has a
really nice game. Uh, Mitch Drabinsky, who you know, they're
starting to open up that playbook. Listen to these numbers.
He went twenty five or thirty two for two hundred
seventy one yards in a score. He also had a
rushing touchdown. That's fantastic. I mean, you know, like I say,

(02:17:58):
that team is getting a little bit better. I don't
know if if it'll be good enough to save John
Fox's job because you know how how that is. But uh,
they certainly Ryan Paces the general manager's got to be
excited about his draft choice. And really some of those
defensive players Team Hicks, those guys playing so well. Um,

(02:18:19):
oh to be young. Uh. The Chargers have just gotten
a nice third down in nine conversion and it was
along past to Hunter Henry. Did you see the play?
It was after we were off the air last week, coach,
but Hunter Henry took a hit to his knee that
when you were watching it live, everybody was like, whoakay,
that's a rap, that's it. He was down for a while,

(02:18:40):
limped off the field, and you know a few hours
later he was like, yeah, bruise, I'm okay. He's right
back out there this week. And uh, and he's really
had a nice second half of the season. Ever he
started off, they just weren't targeting him it. Uh, it
wasn't making much sense because he's a good young tight end.
They finally got it rolling. Yeah, no, he's he's an
excellent football player. And it really was a strange start

(02:19:01):
to their season one four but nothing looked right. I
mean their offense especially, they look so bad. They're not
even playing Henry like you say. And then the running
game wasn't is averaging like two yards to carry and uh,
and Rivers was not himself. He was playing poor. So uh,
they have really turned it around and they were one
of the hottest teams in football. And you know, this

(02:19:22):
is a huge game, right, here. They need to get
this one, tie Kansas City and then have a battle
for first next week. Yep, so three nothing right now
for the charges, They're still in their own territory, but
have the ball. They're on the move. Packers beat the
Browns today one in overtime. Let's go back to Houston
where the forty Niners did it. They have won two
in a row under Jimmy Garoppolo coach to sixteen and

(02:19:46):
peep this for Garoppolo today twenty of thirty three for
three hundred thirty four yards. How to touch down, how
to pick the offense? Looks totally different. They're not just
two and oh since Garoppolo got in there. The both
road games that they've won, I mean, they look like
a totally different team with this guy is playing fantastic.
And look, you post three or thirty yards up against

(02:20:08):
the Texans. Uh, you know, who have a lot of talent.
They're not playing great, but they have a lot of talent. Uh,
that's a great job. And and I just love the
way that guy keeps us cool, He keeps his composure,
he gets out of the pocket, gets out of trouble,
and and he just leads the team right there. You
can see it. Two wins in a row and he's
in a brand new offense. Chiefs of the Raiders twenty

(02:20:28):
six to fifteen. Now the Chiefs, we talked a lot
about him today with regard to whether or not not
they've officially got their offensive mojo back. We know that
the Raiders are not. They do not present the best
defensive stoppers out there. Uh, and they look good. They
didn't do much in the second half. The Chiefs didn't,
but they do win this one. They seem to kind
of go up twenty six nothing and then just put

(02:20:50):
it on cruise control. But I think the big story
for them is one, they get the win. Uh. Two
they got Kareem Hunt going. I mean, what a slog
it's been. Kareem gets twenty five carries today, gets a
hundred sixteen yards, gets into the end zone. I think
you know, there's a uh, some positive visuals there for
him to start to regain the competence he had early

(02:21:12):
in the year. Oh, no question. I mean that's huge
to get that offense clicking like that, and like you say,
the running game in particular, how about the job their
defense did. I mean, that's tremendous and I know the
very end of the game when it's you know, stat
time or whatever, that's one thing. But that can't see.
Defense was was killing. Uh it had Oakland underneath a

(02:21:33):
hundred yards going into the fourth quarter. I mean, that's
fantastic job. And uh you know, I know they got
some yards laid on them. But uh, you know this,
if that team, if the defense can get hot and
start playing better, they're gonna be, you know, hard to handle.
All fifteen points for the Raiders came in the fourth
quarter of that game. The other games Lions over the

(02:21:56):
buck one with a field goal with thirty seconds to go. There,
the Panthers survive a great late push from the Vikings
and win thirty four. Cowboys running away from the Giants
thirty to ten in what was actually a close game
until the fourth quarter. Um getting underway right now, two
huge ones. The Jags are hosting the Seahawks. The Rams

(02:22:16):
are hosting the Eagles. We'll get into that here coming
up in just a moment, but let's get gas. Go
on in here for a full update with what's going
on all around the week fourteen scoreboard fells. What is
what is good Man? You know all this. This is
a hell of a week. These games have been great,
and he had plenty of people with fantasy football and
playoffs just getting underway as well. So something to look

(02:22:39):
forward to with that green Man Packers and Cleveland Browns
right down the liar now Davante in motion to the
laft third down and six from the twenty five of Cleveland,
Williams lean back, quick toss Adams left side Spencelis got
the first time got to from the text down. The
Packers won in overtime. Again to tell you out on

(02:23:00):
I'll walk off five yard touchdown reception twenty seven one Packers. Now,
I was like straight Bo Jackson. He went right in
for the locker room after he had in the end zone.
So Packers win at Brent Huntley in relief of Aaron
Rodgers thirty five or forty six, two sixty five through
the air in three touchdowns in that victory. Browns now

(02:23:21):
over thirteen this season. Meanwhile, Carolina in Minnesota game that
we're all looking at third down in a couple of
Jonathan Stewart the secondary may s car he's still a
fifty for the Vikings thirty. No one will touch him
Jonathan Stewart, how is it from the Carolina forty yard line. Yeah,
Panthers Radio Network Steward on the day sixteen carries for

(02:23:41):
a hundred three yards three TDS Panthers winning at home. Four.
Kansas City took care of the Raiders twenty six to fifteen.
Much needed effort from Cream Hunt carries for hundred and
sixteen and also one squore. Cowboys kept their playoff hopes alive,
beating in New York the Giants that is thirty to ten.
Rod Smith a hundred and sixty total yards in the
game and also to td S Dak Prescott three two

(02:24:05):
through the year and also three scores. As far as
the afternoon games go, right now Denverley in the New
York Jets ten Zips, Seahawks and Jaguars are scoreless. This
ballgame is on Fox. Chargers, Redskins, l A has got
a field goal that has zip three zip. There, Eagles
and Rams just underway from Los Angeles, and of course
we get the nightcap later on today. Ravens and Steelers.

(02:24:26):
All right, good stuff day. Appreciate that Rams and Eagles
are just underway. But a lot happen in Carson Wentz
his second past attempt of the day is intercepted. The
Rams have it and Todd Gurley has just gone in
for a touchdown, turning that turnover into six. So big
atmosphere at the College sum today with a lot of
fans on both sides, and the Rams fans are the
ones cheering. First six nothing, Rams lead extra point on

(02:24:49):
the way. Mark Willard, rob Ryan Red Zone Radio. Um,
let's get Kevin burkhard in here. He was calling a
Cowboys Giants game, and Kevin, if people see the score
on this one, they're gonna think the Cowboys ran away
with it. But that was not the story. You know.
We were talking a lot about Dak Prescott and uh,
it looked like in the fourth quarter of that game

(02:25:10):
he finally found something that that he hasn't had the
last few weeks. What did you see? Yeah, I thought
he was outstanding. I mean I thought he was great
really the whole game. I mean, you know, there were
he had a few big drops in the first day.
He had wanted Dez Bryant, which could have been a
touchdown or at least put him near the one on
a big throw. He didn't get a lot of help,
And I thought he just saved with it and then

(02:25:31):
in the fourth quarter. You know, he's just he's gotten
to a new level even though his numbers haven't shown
it in terms of just reading defenses, audibilizing out of plays.
And the Cowboys, if you look at them yesterday without Ezekiel,
they have not had big plays. They have sorely lacked
that this year. They had a bunch of them in
the second half. And you look at Dak what led

(02:25:52):
to that. Hey, he had a hundred fifty eight yards
and two toughdowns in the fourth quarter alone. So I
just thought he was great all day and really in
the end when they needed And it was a in
ten game before they went nuts. Yeah, I mean Kevin that,
this Rob Ryan that. Uh. That really was a heck
of a heck of a job by Dallas. They kept playing.
It was a close game all the way going into
the fourth quarter ten to ten, and then you rip

(02:26:13):
them for twenty points. Uh Prescott three d thirty two
yards passing and then look they're still running the ball. Well,
I mean there's you know, I know Elliot's not there,
but there's still rushing for over four yards to carry. Uh,
you know against a good Giant defense and uh, you know, shoot,
the Giants gave him everything they could. But again, that

(02:26:35):
was a big game for Dallas and and I thought
their defense came played well down the stretch as well. Yeah, coach,
I'm with you. And I think the beauty of it
is this couple of things for Dallas. First of all,
they got Sewan Lee back today and there he's just
such a difference maker it's not even funny. I mean,
the numbers with him obviously showed if you used your eyeballs,
he's everywhere. I don't know what he finished with because
you know, we basically packed up and left, but he

(02:26:57):
must have had what he had eight teams those tides
of career high um, I mean, he he was. He
was outstanding. So the defense with him goes to a
different level. And the way I look at it, if
they could find a way to win in Oakland, they
still need some help, but then they get Elliott back
for the last two games. I mean, I they very

(02:27:17):
much look like a playoff team in the second half today.
Now they need a little help and they need to
win out, but they got one more game without Zeke,
and if they could find a way to win I
think they're in a relatively decent spots. Kevin Barkhard joining us.
Did the Cowboys Giants game today? Kevin, what was the
atmosphere like in that stadium with Eli Manning returning obviously
the coaching change that took place, was there anything kind

(02:27:40):
of palpable because of the experience the Giants have been
through the last week and a half. Yeah, a couple
of Well, I think Eli got a nice ovation when
he took the field. I thought that was great. I think, um,
you know, so there was a little spark there. I
think a couple of weeks ago, a lot of Giants
fans sold their tickets. I mean they were probably thirty
Towers and Cowboys fans there because, you know, a Giants
were add than they've benched Eli. So I think a

(02:28:01):
lot of season ticket holder's probably got rid of their tickets.
But the ones who were there a lot of support
for Eli. I think it was cool to see and
I think they played hard for Spagnola today. I also
thought that Mike Sullivan did a great job. They used
a lot of hurry up. They caught Dallas and substitutions.
You know, they just don't have talent, right now with
the injury, so you know that being said, they scored

(02:28:22):
ten points. I thought the coaches did a wonderful job today.
But there's only so much you can do, right coach Ryan,
if you don't have the talent for the guys to
do it. So, um, you know, I I give kudos
Spagnola into coaching. I really thought they did it as
well as you could to put them in a position
to win. No, I agree. I think Spagnola's one of
the better coaches in this league. And uh, speaking of Dallas,

(02:28:43):
so you know, like you say, they really need this
next game, uh to get in there. If you can
get Elliott, you know, get another win, get Elliott back.
How about the big Irving kid in Scandrick. Will they
be back next week for Dallas? Yeah, I think the
whole Scandrick, I don't know. He's got a fracture in
his back, so that may take a couple of weeks.
I think Irving, the hope is that he will be

(02:29:05):
Obviously you never know what the concussion uh and clearing
that protocol, but they're hoping that he's back. And the
young secondary for the Cowboys is doing on right, like
they're making some plays they made some place today. Um
so I think if they could get Irving back, they
could they could survive the skeandric thing. Kevin burkhout Cowboys

(02:29:25):
Giants earlier today. Cowboys win at thirty to ten. Hey, Kevin,
really appreciate it. Thanks so much, See you guys soon.
Thanks alright, Kevin Burkhard on the call there and a
nice win for the Cowboys. Keep them alive. At seven
and six, updating everything that's happened since our conversation got started.
A ninety two yard drive for the Chargers that ends

(02:29:45):
in a Philip Rivers to Hunter Henry touchdown, and the
Chargers are on the roll, tend to nothing and already
Byron Marshall, the guy that's taking over kind of the
Chris Thompson role for Washington, he just limped off in
something that did not look like he was gonna be
back anytime soon. I think this has been an underrated
part of the Washington Redskins story this year. This team

(02:30:06):
is insanely banged up, especially on the offensive end. As
Rivers throws on interception interception Casey Hayward. Who did I say,
Kirk Cousins. Kerk Cousins picked off Casey Hayward had his
hands on it, dropped it, and it landed into the
lap of another Charger defender. But Cousins is just completely

(02:30:29):
without weapons at this point. And this Charger team, you
can tell by looking at it, coach like that defense
has a different confidence and swagger about them right now.
And uh, they are running downhill early in this game.
They look fantastic and and uh, Gus Bradley coming over.
They hire him, you know, uh, maybe not the most

(02:30:49):
successful head coach, but a great defensive coordinator. Anthony Lynn
steals him and he has done a fantastic job with
that Charger defense. They weren't that good last year. I
mean not even close. This is a totally different looking group.
And it's not just the two pass rushers. Their past
defense is playing excellent and everybody's running a ball. They

(02:31:09):
got Paramount back, I mean this this is a full team.
And what rivers playing as good as he is, you know,
watch out, Yeah, I'll tell you what. So now the
Chargers take over at the Redskins twenty eight yard line,
already up ten nothing, We're still in the first quarter.
Incomplete pass on the on the first down play there
um and an offensive lineman is down on the play.

(02:31:32):
We'll get the number in the name there in a second.
That's never anything you want to see, Charger fan. He's
holding his knee. Charger fans know that's O Kong and
he has been a free agent signing that was panned
when it happened, but he's been really good for them
this year. He's been fantastic and well, you don't want
to see that, that's for sure. Uh, big left tackle.

(02:31:53):
Oh and he had someone to roll up on the bat.
I mean, that's that typical offensive lineman thing that you
worry about. Someone rolled up on the back of his
leg behind him. Um, and so an injury time out
on the field there with the Chargers leading, this one
tend nothing. I'm gonna repeat something that I said a
week and a half ago because it looks like I
might have been onto something when I said it. I'll

(02:32:14):
let you finish the sentence to see if you agree
with me. The third best team in is the l
A Charges. Now this this entry, this is the captain
other offense along with Rivers. This will be a huge loss.
If if o'coon is down, Hopefully he can bounce back.
Hopefully it's it's not very serious. But you know, the

(02:32:36):
way you got rolled into that doesn't look good. But
he is one of the best left tackles in football,
no question, and we're interested to see how this one
continues to play out. But it's been a great start
for them. And you know what, I'm almost ready, I'm
at least open minded to changing my statement, as by
the way the Eagles get into the red zone. Um,
but I kept saying the Charges are the third best

(02:32:57):
team in the a f C. I'm open minded to
change injuring that answer. The Steelers might be the third
best team in the a f C. The Chargers might
be the second best team in the They're playing so well. Uh,
you know, hopefully they can stay healthy and and uh uh,
it's just amazing one year's turnaround. Uh, you know, especially

(02:33:19):
with the start they had. It's been a fantastic job
by Anthony Lynnon and his coaching staff. Jags with the
ball deep in their own territories, scoreless in Jacksonville, call
it Saxonville. I think we're gonna be saying scoreless for
a while. Uh. These two defenses are both better than
the other offenses. Although Seahawks offense has been very good
at late Russell Wilson loves to go on these late
season runs. I'm really interested to see what they do

(02:33:43):
on the road today against this Jaguar defense. Um Eagles
get a first down, first and goal at the one.
This is a chance for them to tie this one
back up. An early Todd Gurley touchdown run for the
Rams has them in front. But here's when handing off
to Blunt, and Blunt is did he get in before
he got pushed back? I don't think you did so.
I think we're looking at second down in goal just

(02:34:05):
inches shy of the goal line. Will give you the
answer on that drive coming up in a moment. Red
Zone Radio. All right, wrapping things up on our end
Red Zone Radio today. It's been as advertised Week fourteen.

Chargers get a field goal thirteen nothing. There Eagles do
get a touchdown. Seven seven starts of that Eagle's rams game,

(02:34:50):
the Jaguars, with a nice drive have a field goal
on the board. They score first against Seattle three to nothing.
Jags ready for this big boy game. What do you think?
I'm telling you what I think. So I think, Uh,
I still think. I just trust Russell Wilson somehow figure
out a way to win the game. I mean, he's
so good late in the year and he's been playing

(02:35:12):
so well. Uh yeah, I just I don't think Jacksonville
is gonna beat these guys. Yeah, well they're uh yeah, yeah,
they're after You know what, what we noticed on that
opening drive, even though it only ended up with the
field goal, and we've kind of quietly noticed that the
last few weeks, the Blake portals of a couple of
years ago, is kind of he's showing up again. He

(02:35:33):
doesn't look that bad. He doesn't look that bad, and
and he's had his moments where he's actually thrown for
over three hundred yards and done those things. So, uh,
if he can just avoid the turnovers. Uh, you know,
that's why they're in first place, you know, in that league.
They're playing great defense, they got a running game, and uh,
you know if Portals is playing better, like you say,

(02:35:54):
all right, so Jack Lee that one three to no.
I think Jared Goff just took a sack, and so
it's gonna be third and long for the Rams in
their own territory. Redskins have the ball back, but now
already trailing the Chargers thirteen to nothing. Chargers look fantastic.
They are on a real role and you know, to
to you know, follow up on a conversation we had
a couple of hours ago when the Chiefs got off
to a good start. Chiefs have now defeated the Raiders.

(02:36:17):
Chargers already off to a double digit lead here early
second quarter against the Redskins. Um this game next Saturday night.
It's looking like the scenario we painted he is going
to play out. Uh and this will just be an
absolute blast of a game as the Chiefs host the
Chargers next Saturday. It'll be fantastic. I mean, that's you know.

(02:36:39):
And it looks like Kansas City finally playing some defense
and they should get Peters back as well. Uh man,
that's that's gonna be a great game. Denver still has
the ten nothing lead on the Jets early in that game.
The Jets kind of got knocked around here to start
this one off. Looks like they've stabilized themselves, uh, and
they're trying to see if now they can weather the

(02:37:00):
early storm. But Trevor Simeon a seven of twelve for
eighty three yards and a touchdown in that first quarter. Uh,
that's what he put up there. I don't know what
you do with that quarterback position. I'm certainly convinced that
none of the three guys that are there are the guy.
But it's just bizarre from week to week. Every now
and again, each one of them shows these little moments
where all of a sudden it's like, oh, maybe you

(02:37:21):
are okay, and then they go back to not being
okay again. Right. I mean, you know, in the bottom
line is they keep losing anyway. So I mean, neither
none of those guys are the answer. And look, they've
had a great defense, but even that defense is second
to last in points allowed, you know, and that also
is a big stat with the offense not doing anything
that other teams have great field position. But uh, you know,

(02:37:44):
it just hasn't looked right all year for Denver. Despite
the you know, first couple of games after that, who
they have not looked very good and especially their quarterback situation.
You have to move the ball into Denver territory. McCown
right now is gonna scramble for a first down down
to about the four to yard line. So see if
they can move the ball, get something on the scoreboard,
get back into this game trailing tend to nothing. The

(02:38:05):
other game we haven't even mentioned as of yet is
the Cardinals and the Titans. They have completed a scoreless
first quarter, early second quarter. Not much going on there.
Blame Gabbert versus Marcus Mariota. Uh, nobody's turned anything over yet.
They're just not moving the chains getting first downs. Uh.
And Mariota is the one that has me scratching my
head here in year three. Uh, look, the Titans are

(02:38:27):
eating four, they're in first place, so you you you
can't squawk too much. But by the same token, Uh,
the dynamic side of Mariota just hasn't really come out
this year. Yeah, but like you said, they are eighting four.
So if he if he he's had some moments where
he's looked great throwing a football, running it and those
things but he makes those mistakes, too many mistakes for

(02:38:51):
a third year quarterback. And uh but at eight and
four right there? All right? Uh, developing situation in Denver.
As after that's grandma we just mentioned from account. He
is now on one knee being looked at, and it
looks like they're looking maybe at his hand. I don't
know if during the hit when he went down, or
if it if it's his head. What do you what

(02:39:12):
do you think they're looking at here? They're looking like
I can't tell if they're looking at his hand or
if they're just talking to him, like, hey, are you okay?
But he's still down. Yeah, that has a concussion. Alright,
some account is gonna head to the tent. It looks like,
let's see the end of this play, he dives head first.

(02:39:33):
His head never gets hit though, maybe it's his ribs
or his back. Yeah, that's what got hit, was kind
of the mid section. So they're gonna look at account.
And here comes Bryce Petty into the game for the
Jets in facing intend nothing deficit in Denver on their
first trip into Denver territory. Uh. Meantime, Redskins have their uh,

(02:39:54):
their first good drive going. Uh they've got a first
intent at the Chargers twenty two yard line. All stacked
up was p Ryan on that play, So it'll be
second down in ten, just outside the twenty yard line.
But the Redskins need to get something going right now,
already down by thirteen points. Yeah, absolutely they do, and
they need they need a touchdown this drive. That uh,

(02:40:15):
the other other action is going pretty good to this Uh,
this uh Eagles Ram game is going to be fantastic
all day seven seven, and both of these teams are excellent,
and both of them look like they've kind of come
out to play with a little chip on their shoulder
here seven seven. If Eagles stopped the Rams on that
most recent drive, So the Eagles have it back second

(02:40:35):
and two, they're all the way back at their own
twenty yard line and the Seahawks now over two on
their drives. They just had to punt it away again
to the Jags, who lead this one three to nothing. So, uh,
this one is starting to play out. I know it's
very early, just late first quarter, but this early look
is exactly what I was kind of expecting in this game,

(02:40:56):
which is at Seahawks offense has really got it going.
But take to get on the road away from that
Seattle environment and going against this defense is a different
assignment for them today. Most definitely it is. But you know,
if there's anybody can pull it out, it's Russell Wilson.
He's played about as good as anybody in the league
this year. Third and eleven for the Redskins at the

(02:41:18):
Chargers twenty three yard line. Cousins back, He's gonna scramble,
roll right, throw the end zone, touchdown, touchdown, Vernon Davis.
That was a beautiful play by Cousins. That's the kind
of play when he does that where you're like, how
come nobody wants to sign that guy? Sign that guy?
I think somebody does. It's just gonna be uh interesting
this year. I mean he's always been that franchise you know,

(02:41:42):
had that franchise tag and all that. It'll be interesting
see if he gets a long term deal this year
or from somebody. Coach. Great job again. Week fourteen was
absolutely blast. We'll do it again for a week fifteen
next week and join the rest of your Sunday You
