The guys help you make those hard decisions.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
And now let's catch your flex.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Ond Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
It is I want your Flex. He's Mike Carmen. Hit
him up at Swollen Dom or Mike Harmon on Blue Sky.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox or
at Dan Byer on Bluska. Ian Roddy is our executive producer.
Will give his Boo Sky update a little bit later on.
He is at Ian Roddy Underscore while Mike Carmen Monday
Night Football. A lot of people complaining that it was
(00:53):
the Bengals Cowboys, but I guess some of those took
their solace and watching these Simpsons broadcast. But I'll say this,
it was entertaining. It prompts something to the table. It
may not have meant much, but the entertainment level was
at about a ten on Monday night.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Well, it had an opportunity to mean something, right, and
we're getting down inside the final two minutes. Cooper Rush,
whatever you think of Cooper Rush, two years, five million
dollar deal. Guess what free agent auditioning each and every
down opportunity. Instead, you have the punt that was Bengals
ball Jamar Chase Bada bing and here we go talk
(01:32):
about fantasy pinball kind of numbers. But for the Cowboys,
they win that game. Let's drift to real football for
a moment. All of a sudden, the back end of
the NFC playoff, Chase, You've got a breath, You've got
a little bit of life. You still have maybe a
faint pulse, but you have a pulse. Instead, you got
a sullen, salty Jerry Jones monitoring his words very carefully
(01:57):
in the post game, and a sullen Micah Parsons who
watched one of his fellow defenders go down to injury.
But the underhitright, it was fifty and a half was
the over under. The Bengals did cover because of that
late touchdown. We all had him picked Cowboys plus five
and a half. I think, yeah, so we'll leave it
(02:18):
at that. But I mean for Joe Burrow, fifth straight
game with three touchdown passes or more three hundred and
sixty nine yards, Chase is uncoverable. He's got fourteen one's,
seventy seven and two just absolutely insane. He had the
receiving touchdown from Brown. He finishes with over one hundred
and twenty total yards on twenty touch touches, so just
(02:39):
absurdity there. Unfortunately, if he went and we talked about it,
he was in the hot plays with t Higgins against
this d he had five targets but just two catches
for twenty three yards, So a fail there. Oh, by
the way, Jamar Chase also had a carry for fourteen yards.
Didn't want to short change him that other one point
four points along the way. Now, Boys Cooper rush only
(03:01):
one hundred and eighty three yards but two scores and
Ceedee Lamb got his six for ninety three and one
seven targets, so nearly perfect there, but nobody else really
registering much of anything. Brandon Cooks with his three yard
touchdown reception, I mean, he would have been one of
those deep ninja plays. Again, we only go so deep
(03:22):
on the podcast. I can't list everybody, no where can
you or are ian? But with six teams on buys,
you probably were looking for some strange bedfellows here to
get you through. Rico Dwnill ends up looking like a
hero again, right back to.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Back beats, right, I thought, Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Mean eighteen for one thirty one. You know in the end,
you know he gets it done. No touchdowns but one
catch ten yards. I mean, that's that's a pretty strong
day for a guy. Let's face it, you'd have you
he's in your lineup because of desperation and no other reason.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
It's funny because you mentioned the word desperation, and there
is a feeling the punt block I can't get over
because of a bunch of a variety of reasons. As
this game plays out, Number one, it's fourth and twenty
seven from the Cincinnati twenty nine yard line, and so
(04:23):
the real thought process to me is i'm watching, is
let's set up a return, right? They are like, they
are so far behind the chains. We don't have to
worry about a fake. We have moved them back so
far that we've got a kicker who could kick a
sixty five yarder in the stadium, So let's not mess
(04:44):
this up. And then all of a sudden, you get
this blocked punt that is deflected and I a block
to me, Mike is the one that goes behind the punter.
But so, yeah, deflected punt.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
This is just a punt of x yards. Yeah, yeah,
it just lands and gets downed.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
But correct, correct. And so the thinking of that was,
did they actually put a punt block on and it shut?
Seems like at least something was done to get through,
which blows my mind. But if there was a call
for it, how everybody else doesn't realize what's what's going
on in that scenario. But you know what I think happened,
(05:26):
and will I will swear by this, and I know
Mike McCarthy can say whatever, and the Cowboys can say whatever.
Remember against the Commanders when they had the on side
kick and they ran it back for the touchdown and
everybody was going crazy and it was actually a bad move,
(05:49):
But I felt like that was that sort of play
where they saw the ball and I know that and
I can't remember who it was, but whoever muffed the
punt thought that they could just pick it up and
run it back and be that star again. Just like
you know, they had a couple of weeks ago and
(06:09):
you muffet, you lose it, Bengals get it and game over.
But I think that play in the Commander's Game where
they returned the on side kick for the score because
he was able to feel it and run right past everybody.
I felt that had a role in Monday Night because
for some reason, the Cowboys had already seen a play
like that and they wanted to They wanted that glory again,
(06:30):
and this time it completely.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Backfire for Rewayya, who just got activated and became part
of things like the ball. The ball bounced up right,
one of those end over end that kind of comes high,
which is if you're not worried about engaging a guy
who's about two steps from you, should be an easily
fielded ball, if nothing else, field position, even if you
(06:53):
just fell down at the spot. So I think part
of it is maybe maybe the return is in his mind,
but also the hey, I could be hero because we're
starting at the ed midfield.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
If right, If I it's crazy because and if anybody
wants to do this, If you go back and you
watch it, Mike, it looks like he's jumping out of
the starting blocks before he has the football like he
sets his feet like you're gonna gun a runner going
to third from right field, like he is ready to go,
(07:26):
and I think he wanted to take off. And because
there's there's no other explanation for touching the football in
that in that point, it's not even like a get
better field position sort of thing. I just I can't
get over it, like it's it because it's screwed me
in so many different fantasy ways. You're right, the ball
takes this funky bounce that ends up instead of going
(07:47):
out of bounds, goes upfield. And but man, if you
look at his feet, it looks like he sets and
takes off like he's Usain Bolt. So it's crazy, But
that's the Cowboys for you.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Well, let's just say it, right, opportunity to crawl back
into things. Despite everything that's going on. You're starting quarterbacks
in a luxury box, watching on your running back position
has been awful all year. You get a little bit
of juice from Dowdle here. Your defense has been gashed
time and time again. You've held Joe Burrow to twenty points.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Right.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
That's the big thing that they were carrying out of
this was we held him to twenty points and then
we opened the door. Yeah, then we opened the door.
Not just hey, they got us in overtime, hats off
to you. It's like, no, we gave him the ball
back and the opportunity to stick the dagger in.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Here's here's my final thing about this stupid punt that
again cost me not a lot, but it's just more
in pride than anything else. The guy who whiffed on
the block as I watched this replay recovers the fumble
for Cincinnati, so like his miscue caused the block punt,
but he ends up recovering it in saving the day,
(09:01):
so he almost looks like the hero when he actually
could have been the goats. But by and large, we
should probably be talking about the numbers that you talked
about at the beginning, like how unstoppable Jamar Chase is,
why defenses can't figure out a way to stop him,
Chase Brown being the viable back, and Joe Burrow just
being Joe Burrow. But I just I just could not
get away from this, this punt, could not get away
(09:22):
from it.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Can I just say to guys with the fact that
if someone lost to Jamar Chase or Chase Brown on
one of those plays. Do you think it just makes
it so much worse to see the Simpsons replay, to
just see like Homer Simpson beating you for a touchdown,
Lisa Simpson a round.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I will tell you what. At the time of this recording,
the NFL Network is replaying the Simpsons game. Because I didn't.
I didn't go and check it out on the Was
it the Disney Plus.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Or is ESPN?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I think I might have been on ESPN. I think
it's on both.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I was wondering like how it
would would look. And again I understand not everything is
for me, and I hope people are big Simpsons fans.
I don't know if big Simpsons fans would get into
it or not, but yeah, it does add a little
salt into the wound. Is Jamar Chase and Chase Brown
were able to chase me down in fantasy football?
Speaker 4 (10:14):
Now, the Simpsons part of it, you know, for what
I was able to see was pretty fun.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
It would have been nice.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
And again I haven't watched the whole thing Smith and
I do on our show during the second half and
beyond and sitting in LA traffic for a good chunk
of the first first half, but it was all seemingly
recorded stuff from the voiceover actors as opposed to one
they did the SpongeBob broadcast, which was the voice of
(10:44):
the Super Bowl doing yeah, their own, you know, in
real time, so that would have been preferred. But hey,
you know, anytime I can get a little more Hanka's area.
Most is lack halftime speeches and stuff, I'm all on board.
And the insertion of the different players, Ralph Wigham catching
a touchdown pass, Like you're trying to find different ways
(11:04):
to entertain and engage an audience, and as long as
the cost wasn't too prohibitive, because I think they used
the Simpsons cost and time as an excuse to leave
the Cowboys there when they were never going to flex
the Cowboys out no matter how bad they were. Sure
bad Cowboys is still better than whatever.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, right in terms of.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
What people are going to watch, So they use the
Simpsons as a crutch of Ah, too much work has
already been done in this all right, Maybe there's some
hint of truth to that, but it's the Cowboys. It
ain't going anywhere, and it was entertaining to me like
they did some pretty cool little thing. Krusty was kicking
field goals. I don't know it's fun.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Here's the I have a little different because I don't
watch The Simpsons. But I also don't think the Simpsons
are a child's cartoon where they're more loved by adults.
I just I don't know if it's because it's been
on so long, but or where it is on Fox,
where I think SpongeBob is a kids cartoon that brings
(12:12):
adults in. Maybe I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong on that,
but my whole point is I just don't know how
an adult is like. You know, screw the Manning cast,
screw Aikman and Buck. I want to watch the Simpsons version.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
I'll be honest. You can look at me right here.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
You would rather rather? Yes, I would really yeah? Huh
as a football fan, you'd rather yeah? Because okay, I
know the man. At this point, I was thinking about
this too.
Speaker 5 (12:40):
I feel like I would watch the Simpsons one, but
I would have to have it on in addition to
the regular broadcast.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Yeah, companion, I get that. Companion broadcast TV one, TV
two or screen too. I get that, honestly, Dan. Oftentimes
I as I do in the studio, I watch games
with no sound.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah, and I'm not and I'm not it's not even
a commentary on comment commentators. Yeah. Where by the way,
collins Worth was actually really good with h on the message. Yeah,
it was very, very funny. And and then he called
the Jamar Chase touchdown and just left. So that's funny.
But it's just the fact of like watching the football game,
(13:23):
like I just I couldn't sit there. I've got it
on right now, and I'm like, I don't even I
wouldn't feel like I'm watching an actual game. Like I
may mute the TV because maybe you know, the the
broadcast isn't into my liking. But I just seeing seeing
Maggie Simpson or Lisa Simpson running down the sidelines just
(13:44):
doesn't do anything for me. But I could see like why,
like a kid would be like, oh, hey, look there's
my favorite character. So and like Krusty the clown is
now on the kick a field goal.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
This is what I mean though, Like if you lose
on one of those plays, it's just salt in the
woods with.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
What looks like a bunch of donuts is the uprights.
That's what I'm looking. I mean, I don't watch the Simpsons,
so I don't know if this all makes sense or not.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, you have the donuts, you had the Krusty Burgers.
You had to those things.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Sure, sure, yes, And the field goal is good. So
while the Simpsons broadcast was telling you that Cad York's
field goal was good, the regular broadcast was telling you
that Cad York's girlfriend is the Dallas. Yeah, there's two different,
two different ways to go about this whole deal.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
That was the beauty of being able to watch it
two ways.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Well I am. I am securing myself to say that
I understand that everything is for me. So and I've
come to the point in life of the realization that Dan,
you can't be so selfish. So I'm not hating on
the Simpsons broadcast at all. It's just just not for me,
that's all.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
What's it.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yeah, Look, I brought it up the other day and
folks didn't know it existed. So whatever the marketing was
and wherever they promoted that, clearly they didn't reach some
of their target audiences, which would have been you know,
my fellow comrades here at.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
So that tells you where you're at in that or
it wasn't necessarily obvious where to find it right away,
whether it was on the deuce or whatever else, and
that I just made the connection my own, damn self.
It must be over there. So that all that to say,
(15:33):
like I like the I've liked all the alternate broadcasts,
Like I think it'd been really creative and fun. And
in the end, if it's a Monday or a Thursday game,
I'm going to be in the studio anyway, so I'm
going to see the regular game, and then it's just
what I can catch of the other. As for the
other if it's not, you know, it's just a fun
(15:56):
little diversion of all right, let's see how creative they
get with it.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, all right. We'll moving on here to
other matters from I want your flex. There may still
be some Bengalo conversations. Plus one of the craziest performance
we've seen in fantasy football happened in Week fourteen. Plus
getting a set for what is ahead, because if you're
listening to this and you still have some skin in
the game, you're still playing, whether it be daily fantasy,
(16:21):
maybe you're about to enter the regular season or maybe
your playoffs are about to begin. We got a whole
bunch for you. He is Mike Harmon. I'm dan byer Ian.
The update on Blue Sky.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
Is there isn't one, no update not on.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Blue Sky anymore. Well, you are still working on that.
We'll have all that next here. And I want your flex.
Welcome back to I want your flex before we get
to other matters. Joe Burrow did say something Mike Harmon
at the end of the win against the Cowboys. By
the way, I'm dan Ian, Roddy's the executive producer, saying
that he wants T Higgins back and he's going to
(16:58):
do whatever he can to make sure that T Higgins
is back playing under the franchise tag this year and
set to be a free agent next year for a
team that also has to pay Jamar Chase. I I
think it's nice of Joe Burrow to say those nice
things about T Higgins. I don't think it's in the Bengals'
best interest to bring back T Higgins.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
You need five defenders seven hell, you could replace all Okay,
a couple of those guys will come back from injury,
but you have so many other obvious needs.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, you need somebody to make sure that Joe Burrow
isn't injured.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
You know there's too Yeah, ask go line and your defense. Yeah,
you've you've got dollars got to be allocated somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
And there's the other guy at the same position. You
got to pay two.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Well, yeah, that's yeah, that's yeah, clearly, I mean obviously
you got to pay him.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
But just saying in terms of V and.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
I just said that a minute ago. Are you signing
up for a blue Sky account? Is that what was
going on when we when we.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Said that, I know, I like the fact that he
doubled down, going, look, you got to pay him an
ixorbitant amount of money?
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Is I think what he was trying to say.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
God, I get this Ian roddy guy.
Speaker 5 (18:14):
So well I need to get the user name while
it's still.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
While it's still there. That's the key.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
You've gotta You've got to squad on the even if
you don't know anything. Like I squatted on Mike Harmon.
I have not posted there except like twice, but I
and I intend to, Like, I've got a whole grid
of things I need to do. Uh, that is certainly
on the list. Be more prolific in my opinions and
posting thereof. But yeah, to to your point, Dan, I mean,
(18:39):
it's it's it's great. But what else is Joe Burrow
gonna say? You know what, We've had a good run.
I can't wait to play these last four weeks with him.
But I'll tell you what, if I do alligate some
of my money for him to be here, he's got
to promise me he doesn't miss another five game block.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Yeah, well that's his injury history is a part of it.
Just just look at what happened Monday night. Jamar Chase
at eighteen targets, fourteen receptions. T Higgins at two catches
for twenty three yards. You know, threw one to him
in the end zone. Overthrew them just a bit, but
maybe T Higgins should have made the catch. This it
(19:18):
feels this is not Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. This
is not it. That is not what this is. This
is not the dynamic duo Jimmy Smith, Keenan McCardell. Jamar
Chase is the clear number one. And it's not even close.
And so you don't sit there and you don't pay
that huge amount of money. It's not Isaac Bruce and
(19:40):
Tory Holtz. Can we can keep on going down the list.
This is not that, this is Jamar Chase and everyone else.
And so I felt that needed to be said. Considering
Burrow was like bring him back and yeah, not gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Yeah, I feel that's kind of the NFL as a whole.
It's Jamar Chase and everybody else.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Yeah, yeah, sure, as much as I like.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Some of these other guys. I mean, you guys can disagree.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Ian you know, he's just ridiculous watching what he does
week after week. And obviously a healthy Joe Burrow is
a very frightening prospect with even some semblance of a defense.
How dangerous this squad would be. But one one after
another we watched all year, how many fails they finally
(20:27):
win a one score game.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Like I don't you can't replicate it either, Like you
can't just go to college and say, all right, we're
gonna take quarterback and wide receiver from that school and
it's gonna work. Like you have to have a quarterback
to turnout to be as good as Joe Burrow, and
you have to have a talent and wide receiver to
turnout to be as good as as Jamar Chase.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
PPR leagues through fourteen weeks. Jamar Chase is currently eighty
two points better than Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Wow, Jefferson finally got off the schneid this past weekend.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah, big thirty two point performance, his first twenty plus
since week nine and just the second since week four.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Wow, that's crazy. But yeah, Jamar Chase is number one.
And I'm not talking about his jersey number that is.
That is for sure. It is too bad talk about
Ceede Lamb on the other just on the other Cowboys sideline,
and then can move away from that of just again. If
Dak was still there, considering Dallas has done nothing to
(21:38):
really compliment anything around Ceedee Lamb, you'd have to think
that his numbers would have been maybe not Chase ESK.
But they're still up there. They're still up there anyway,
still third in the league in receiving yards, but a
little bit more, probably heavier in the touchdown category. If
Dak would have been around.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Yeah, you're up over eighty catches on the year. Still
getting his seven targets tonight, which seems a bit low,
but not that they were greatly efficiently got more effort
out of the run game with doubt, like we talked
about a little bit earlier, but you know, overall, I
mean with Dak, it was never a really well oiled machine,
even when the defense was hurt and playing terribly. So
(22:16):
all of that to say, the fact that for PPR
leagues he's still fourth pretty impressive. Since we haven't seen
Dak in a while.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
I'll tell you what else is impressive. Just looking at
these wide receiver stats that Jerry Judy is fourth at
receiving yards in the National Football.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
League pretty crazy, right.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yeah, absolutely, And I think I must start, you know,
for the rest of the way, as long as it
is weather, you know, fits for the Browns. And yeah,
considering the report that he has with Jamis Winston, who
would have known? Who would have funked it? Amazing? Fifty
nine receptions, nine hundred and forty four yards so far
(22:54):
this season.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
Crazy, a lot of deep balls, a lot of yak.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Yeah, really p pressive run for a guy that many
had dismissed self included.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Well what is he?
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Yes, and with Deshaun Watson he would have been nothing.
So here we are.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Yeah, No, you're right, you're right, speaking of yack, people
yacked when they had to go up against Josh Allen
for most leagues, he was on my team and I
still lost. So that does you how great my season's been.
But that performance, Mike, the thing about it for me
was because we're on the air doing the game and
you're getting a feel, you knew what was coming because
(23:33):
the way that the game was being played, nobody's getting stops.
The Bills were trailing, but still they were able to
move the football and it was just a matter is
he going to throw, We're going to run for the
touchdown on whatever drive you wanted to pick. Obviously, the
last one has been a huge topic of conversation was
for us on Sunday as well, with the timeout usage
(23:54):
and whatnot. But I mean, to have six total touchdowns,
to have over eighty yards rushing, three hundred and sixty
yards passing, just a performance. Really, three and forty two
yards passing is the official number, but just a performance
like no other that we've seen from a quarterback really
in the National Football League.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Fifty two point performance for the day, distancing himself now
Sam Donald number two fantasy quarterback on the year after
his five touchdown performance.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
But yeah, for Josh.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Allen that game against the Ram I mean, no sacks,
no turnovers, clean, just crazy ass backyard football on both
sides and just watching the individual efforts. Just the ease
with with he he gets all right, he's into the secondary,
he'll slide.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
No, he won't.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
He's gonna run for another twenty yards and he's still
gonna be looking to engage someone. Even as he's going
to the sideline, he's waiting on the hit to come
for him. As opposing you know guys that are just
kind of looking towards the sideline like the play's over,
like he's still ready to engage and battle, which is
just different. But yeah, that game was crazy in terms
(25:04):
of picks. I was on the right side of it.
Just didn't think you need to sweat it the way
that game went right, I mean the Rams offense being
so prolific as they were early on and what Stafford
was doing. But Khalil Shakir, I mean we want to
talk about running second level and.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Making some big plays.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Think the larger audience gained a new appreciation for him
in that game as well.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Michael Vick in twenty ten had a game where he
threw for three hundred and thirty three yards through four touchdowns,
ran for two scores, had eighty yards rushing, but the
rushing touchdowns are the more rushing touchdowns for Allen, and
the slight increase in the rushing yards and passing yards
(25:48):
put him over the top. Mark Rippin in nineteen ninety one, okay, yeah,
had six touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in a game.
And then Peyton Manning the season opener in twenty thirteen
to seven touchdown passing game for the Broncos, Remember I
remember that one that was fourth highest. And then Aaron
(26:11):
Rodgers in twenty eleven at a four touchdown day, four
hundred and eight yards passing, two rushing touchdowns, thirty six
yards on the ground.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
And Josh Allen just a fun factor. He's the first
NFL quarterback in history to have three passing touchdowns and
three rushing touchdowns in the same game.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Crazy. That's that's tough to pass it. That's the difference
in these stats. You know, if Vic, if Vic maybe
has the passing touchdown, you know, instead of the rushing touchdown,
he's closest, he'd still be a couple of yards short.
But Allen is the best option for them to score,
whereas like Lamar, for as great as Lamar is, you're
(26:51):
still like, Okay, well let's give it to Derek Henry
had to go line. But like with Josh Allen down there,
you're like, all right, Jalen Hurts is kind of the
the same way like he always was until Saquan is there.
But they're still giving him his his scores. He's the
best best option to get into the end zone. And
that's what that's what kind of separates him from me
when it comes to those Monster games, because it's not
(27:13):
like Lamar can't run it in because we've seen him
do it, you know, time and time again. But like
for Buffalo, it's almost game plan for him to get
those opportunities.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
To score on the length power all of those thing. Yeahs, yeah, fine,
I'll just do it myself. With Jalen Hurts, I mean,
you got a better option of him running it in
than throwing it. Oh did I just go down that
whole Brandon Graham and AJ Brown and everything?
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Oh no, But yeah, I love it because A J. Brown, Mike,
We've said on this podcast, Ian you're new to it,
you may not have heard it. When A j Brown
was sulking after they beat the Giants in the NFC
Divisional playoffs two years ago because he didn't get the
football that told me right there, it's any any good will,
(28:03):
any like team aspect in Philadelphia out the window. What's that? Yeah, yeah,
that's what it is. Yep. They won a playoff game,
they were going to the NFC Championship game, and he
was pissed off on the sidelines because he only caught
three balls.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Then look at where they're at right now, Look at
the run they're on. Yeah, has it been pretty every game? No,
this one was. It was a tough fought battle. All
credit to Carolina, but my god, like you're winning, succeed
and proceeed man and so to have. Even if Graham
tried to retract it a little bit later on Monday night.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
It's like the cats out of the bag.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
And you know, all along we've wondered how tenuous it was,
even bringing Nick Sirianni into the mix.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
That you know, you've got that either way.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Jalen Hurts still a top five fantasy quarterback, but just
thought i'd throw out there in terms of that rushing effort.
But yeah, Josh Allen, I you know always, it's the
one I'll always claim as a victory lap in my
tenure at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
I believed, well, I'll tell you what, he sure cashed
in and you believed in him in Week fourteen, I
did as well. We'll do more of that, by the way.
I think that something like this with the Eagles, by
the way, can torpedo the rest of their season. Sure,
absolutely so, just to mark that down, to put the
(29:33):
period at the end of that sentence. Those winning streaks
don't go on forever. They've got the Steelers this past
week again they probably should win, but yeah, this is
the stuff that can kind of ruffle feathers. And as
you said, Mike, they are absolutely rolling right now, even
though Carolina almost came up and bit him in the butt.
(29:54):
But you can't deny what's their one streak? Is it
ten right now? I'm just bringing up my standing nine
nine or so? Yeah, nine lines are at eleven so,
but yeah, that can bring them down. But Mike Harmon
was on the Josh Allen train early and often we'll
see who else he hitched his ride to. In Week fourteen,
(30:15):
Mike had some huge hits with his rankings. We'll check
in on Ian streaming defenses. See how that played out. Guys,
I'm gonna be honest with you. I had a mixed
bag in my picks. So we're gonna give our report cards.
Plus Mike's got your waiver wire picks for week fifteen,
where we say so long and goodbye to the Bys.
(30:35):
That's all next year. He's Mike Harmon, I'm Dan Byer.
That's Ian Roddy. This is I Want Your Flex. Welcome
back to is I Want Your Flex. He's Mike Carmen
and I'm Dan Byer. Ian Roddy's the executive producer. Before
we get to Mike's waiver Wire picks and his report card,
Ian will start with you, how did your streaming defenses
go for week fourteen?
Speaker 5 (30:56):
Mixed bag? Mixed bag. So we'll start with the negative.
So that was the Cardinals. If you took my advice there,
they lost you four points. So I sincerely apologized for
that one. Yeah, they allowed thirty points and that was
about it. No sacks, no interceptions, no recoveries, just straight
all thirty points allowed. So sorry about that one. Cardinals
(31:18):
were not a good play. But Tennessee Titans were the
other one, they actually were a good play. They got
you ten points, which is a solid outing for a
streaming defense, two interceptions, a sack, and only allowed ten points.
So mixed bag, like I said, But yeah, Titans came
away with a good one.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Cardinals not so much.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
I kind of rode your coattails a little bit with
the survivor pick. I took the Titans. They did not win,
so that would have knocked you out. That was a
game where we had talked about Will Levis leading up
to it. Will Levis had thrown a touchdown pass and
every game that he basically fully played the season and
was just steimied. The Titans actually came out and ran
(31:55):
the ball like got on their opening drive, but I
had to settle for a field goal and that was
really the only thing that went well for them that day.
Is Jacksonville gets to win. Yeah. Steelers was the other
pick that I had over the Browns. I felt pretty
good about that one, especially with the short week that
Cleveland had, so that ended up working out if you
did pick Pittsburgh. My points at Palooza, well, the points
(32:16):
of Palosa was Bills and Rams. We'll get to that
in a sec. But I picked Seattle and Arizona. A
couple of turnovers for Arizona allow the Seahawks to cash
in on some points. Ended up being a forty eight
point total for the final, but not the huge, huge
numbers that you were maybe hoping for in fantasy. James
Connor didn't get into the end zone. Trey McBride had
(32:38):
seven for seventy and Marvin Harrison just four for forty nine.
But if he did play Zax Charbonay, you were a winner.
And Jackson Smith and Jigba did get into the end zone,
but points of Beloosah, I'm not going to take the
win on that. But I will say this, for as
much as everything is seemingly gone wrong for me in
the NFL and picks and whatnot this year, I wanted
(33:00):
this save wonder Wall and my Oasis pick for the
right opportunity. And I know Mike HadAM in his top five,
so he's along with me on here. But I said
Josh Allen and the Bills against the Rams, and Josh
Allen actually comes out and has the most points ever
by a quarterback in fantasy football history. Thank you very much,
(33:23):
Josh Allen for having something go right. For me, at
least for once this season.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
They go spike it, Gronk spike on that one oh
six times.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Yeah, well, they tell you what. They maybe should have
spiked it on a you know, first down after the
quarterback sneak instead of using that time out or ran
it again. That would have been giving you.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Leave late game management and McDermott alone. Goodness, he's just
one of thirty five guys. By the way, in that game,
did you guys notice nobody was really mad when Sean
McVay was going for it on fourth and five. Yeah,
it's okay, he's a genius.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
It's okay. That guy's an idiot.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
He's a chucklehead over there, so get mad when he
goes on fourth.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Anyway, Mike, you had Josh Allen in your top five,
you had some other hits. Joe Burrow pretty nice for you.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Yeah, he was a number one for sure.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Yeah. Yeah, Tamar Chase your Numero udo wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Pretty nice week for Burrow.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Obviously, Chase leading the pac Guarendo out of the Ninjas.
We'll have to talk about him in a moment as
we look at the waiver wire. Of course, some of
the other would be hits. I mean, we'll take some
credit for Kyler Murray still a top ten not the explosiveness.
Like you said, Dan, we didn't get over the top
(34:43):
because both he and Connor actually still finished pretty well
for the week for fantasy purposes, even if you didn't
get the massive touchdowns out of it, because Connor was
still a top ten back for us as well.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
So we'll take the victory there.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
Charbone was on the the list because of the Walker injury.
Of Hey, let's take a look, we said, gorndos we
win there. Connor was seventh finishing, you know, with an
eighteen point day. We'll take it a little salty. You know,
Saquon only finished tenth fourteen point four with it being
(35:18):
the final week of the fantasy regular season and with
the the largess of the bye weeks and everything, we
needed more from him to get over. So a little
bit salty there. A Chan finished sixteenth. That's not good
enough based on what we expected. And Gus Edwards was
on our list for as a potential again he found
(35:40):
the end zone great.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
He was twenty third. So that's not getting us to.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
The purpose land here, Dan, I need better if I'm
going to go out and out a limb with some
of these guys.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I love the Donald, the Chase Brown, and the hot
place that I'll ended up working out well. I thought
Rico Daudell ran well for the Cowboys. He was a
hot play. But yeah, so I would say buying large
a very good week for you.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
Mike Harmon takes a victory lapse, Buddy, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Yeah, absolutely. All right, let's get to the waiver wires. Now,
nobodyce to worry about full slate in week fifteen, as
playoff time is here, whether it's the end of your
regular season or at the start of the postseason. Mike,
who are we looking to pick up this week?
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Well, right off the jump, mentioned Gurendo as a huge
say that five times Julie Fans. It does not roll
off my tongue necessarily, but he had a big game.
But now he's questionable as we look at a Thursday game.
We got the Rams and forty nine ers getting after
it later on this week. So Patrick Taylor from Memphis
is the next man up. So this becomes the hey,
(36:45):
you might if nothing else you're playing defense and stashing
him on your roster waiver take an idea, you know,
look at your free agent acquisition budget.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
What you've got left, but a.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Guy that will probably play a role, just a matter
of how huge it.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Is whether Gureendo is able to get it back.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
Sincere McCormick, we gave you last week, he's had another
big week for the Raiders. He's still the top man.
That's a Monday night football game. Hey, double barreled action
Monday night. Who wants to watch the Bears with me? Gee,
I'll be on air. You think that's gonna end well
as they play the Vikings?
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, good for me.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
Take bigsby also going up against your jets Ian opportunity
duff knock there. On the other side, you've got Aaron
Rodgers coming off a big game, not quite dead yet,
think about that winning a fantasy football playoff game, or
maybe you know your last ditch effort to get in
(37:41):
going up against that Jacksonville secondary. Yeah, I'll take my
shots with that one. Jamis Winston also still available in
a ton of leagues. Look, he's gonna give you some
really terrible throws to say, what the hell? But that's
the beauty of it. He has no conscience. He's gonna
come back the next possession and throw it again. Quentin
Johnston had himself a big game. You also had smart
(38:02):
steps in Will Disley probably gonna miss some time, so
there's a tight end play for you. Three catches fifty
two yards for him in that loss to Kansas City.
But Johnston came up big with some big receptions. We
already had Palmer probably on your rosters, so you don't
necessarily need to look there. Zach Ertz is having some fun. Really,
(38:22):
I'm looking now at the flex plays right. We're looking
wide receiver tight ends erch with a pretty good run
coming back off the bye week as Washington the one
NFC squad out of those six from a week ago
that did not play. Kendrick Miller of New Orleans. We
take a look at him as you're trying to find
(38:44):
things in that offense for New Orleans. Derek Carr's hurt.
I'm not suggesting quarterback play, but more hey, someone can
do a two step and get the ball into these
guys guts to keep things running. And then you know
how much I love Xavier Laget so an opportunity here
as well, Carolina with Bryce Young the other guy, they're
(39:05):
playing that Dallas defense. I don't know that Homer Simpson's
going to score this week. Maybe we go down to
King of the Hill and get Bobby into the end zone.
Or maybe Dale gribble.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Well on the fourth down play that sealed the cowboys fate.
They were all Homers on the field, and all Bart's
on the field. Bart and the Bengals, Homer and the
Cowboys and Bart ends up prevailing. Great to have no
buys this week, yes, but even better some of these
matchups that we've got in Week fifteen, Mike, I only
feel that it's fair because of how much we do
(39:39):
rip the scheduling, broken clocks right twice a day. Week
fifteen is littered with great matchups. You mentioned Rams Niners
on the Thursday night, Seahawks Packers from Seattle on Sunday night.
The late window has five games. You think Pittsburgh can
(39:59):
phill adell feel your marquee game, and then it's like, oh,
Buffalo's at Detroit, You got the Colts at Denver in
that late window. Heck, you got the Bucks at the Chargers. Right,
not too shabby. Yeah, this is this is a good
week of football, so that late windows should be entertaining.
And and you know why wouldn't the Browns welcome Kansas
(40:21):
City the town and knock off the Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Right, that is one that's uh yeah, that's that's got
some chaos potential to it.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
I think, yeah, yeah, it seems like that would be
about right, Jameis Winston doing this thing.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
But Miami in Houston, yeah right, I mean Miami, Miami
still has a pulse. Houston. We don't know what they are,
but they're coming out of a bye week. Maybe they're
a little bit healthier, Maybe they regrouped and slow it
in that offense can figure something out. But you know,
Miami with the with the win they had this week,
improbable as it was, that they walk away with it,
(40:54):
uh and and now they have a puncher's chance and
then still waiting out word why it happens as we
record this with the Atlanta Falcons, that's a Monday night
game against the Raiders. We argued for Pennix on our
show a couple of weeks ago, did Smith and I
no word as we record whether anything's going to change there.
(41:16):
But Kirk Cousin's been awful. I mean there's just no
two ways about it. But so that's one to watch
and if for nothing else, you can laugh at the
Raiders and maybe they'll have a live You think Shudor
Sanders will be a guest on the Manning cast.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Well, I'll say this. I'll leave that for another day.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Just hearing at every income past.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
I'll say this, and I'm sorry Falcons fans because I
know you bringing at home games. I just don't see
Allegiance Stadium being overtaken by Falcon fans on Monday night.
So I actually think you can have a pro Raider
crowd in Las Vegas instead of the opposing teams fans
coming in and taking over things, which seems to be
a lots of what happens in Las Vegas, not only
(42:00):
not only with the LA based teams, but it does
seem to happen in Vegas as well.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Absolutely everybody wants to see the death start.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yeah, yes, I just don't know how many random Falcons
fans there are gonna be right, It just doesn't seem
like there's gonna be duns.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
Well for some.
Speaker 4 (42:16):
I mean it's gonna be the beginning of the holiday season.
I know a lot of schools are getting out on Friday.
I don't know, maybe an opportunity.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Yeah, all right, So that's gonna be that's gonna be
it for us schools being let out. Here, go have fun.
Ian Roddy's our executive producer. Maybe the next time we
meet to me on Blue Sky, Don't told you breath?
And Mike Carmon is and so am I. He's at
Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Byer. You can find us there also,
Mike get swollen doughmon x and hit me up at
dan Byer on Fox. And Ian at Ian Roddy underscore
(42:46):
we will not be a j brown and pout after
all win. We will leave with our heads held high
no matter how we perform, and can't wait to talk
to you next time right here, and I want your
flex
