Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have to stop from Jonas Knocks. You thought you
knew me. You didn't know a thing about me. He's
crazier than a else.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Wrecked that guy, Jonas Knocks, You heard me, brid some
darkness is lighting up your speakers to establish an alibi
for the day. No Live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Here's Jonas Knox.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Okay, I'll be cords. You know, it seems pretty clear
to me that we have got our answer. Did he
(00:51):
do it? Is he guilty? Sure seems like it. We'll
get into that for you coming up here in just
a couple of moments from now, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Rado.
You can listen to. The show is always on the
iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates
all across the country and wherever you are making us
a part of your Saturday morning into the afternoon. We
(01:13):
appreciate you doing so. We are going to take you
all the way out until four pm Eastern time, one
o'clock Pacific, and we've got all sorts of news and notes.
We've got all sorts of discussion to be had when
it comes to storylines in the NFL and beyond, and
(01:39):
one of those. That seems pretty obvious. Now based on
what we are hearing and what we are seeing, it
seems pretty obvious Justin Tucker is guilty. Okay, that seems
fairly obvious to me. Now. I bring that up because
the attorneys who who represented the massage therapists who brought
(02:06):
forth these claims towards Justin Tucker, they have given the
NFL credit, calling the NFL's investigation incredibly thorough and thoughtful. Right,
So that was done during a Friday news conference, and
they were happy with how the NFL handled this. There
was fifteen individuals interviewed by the NFL. They claimed Tucker
(02:28):
engaged in some improper conduct while visiting their So, like
they credited the NFL guys did a great job. Now
you could look at that and say, well, of course,
because you know, he was suspended ten games. I mean,
it seems like they got their way. Now. They haven't
brought forth any criminal complaints that had taken this to court.
(02:50):
He hasn't been sued. There's been nothing yet. But what's
interesting to me about the Justin Tucker situation is the
fact that he still is trying to via his representation.
In their statement that came out still trying to claim
(03:11):
how disappointed they were in the NFL's decision. And I
ask you this, if you really didn't do it, why
did you accept the ten game suspension? If you didn't
do this and you were innocent and you had nothing
to do with all this, and these claims were false,
(03:32):
and it was a bunch of garbage and a bunch
of why did you accept the ten game suspension? Because
accepting the ten game suspension by the NFL is basically
admitting that you lost, and the only way you lose
is if you are guilty or the NFL, in this
(03:52):
thorough investigation they did found enough evidence to know, yeah,
he's guilty. And while it's it's not surprising the NFL
came to this conclusion and came to this ten game
suspension conclusion because the writing was pretty much on the wall.
The Ravens drafted a kicker, then they released Justin Tucker.
(04:14):
They tried to say, well, it was a complex decision,
it was a football decision. No, you knew what was coming.
You knew this was coming down the pike, this was happening.
The NFL had done their investigation, The investigation had concluded,
they were trying to see whether or not they could
agree on a term of the suspension, and Justin Tucker
and his representatives agreed to ten games. And then afterwards
(04:35):
came out and said, God, we're disappointed. Justin maintains his
innocences in previous statements, blah blah blah. All but by
accepting the ten games, you've basically thrown away any shot
of being a Hall of Famer. If I didn't do this,
and I knew my reputation, my career, my Hall of
(05:01):
Fame status was on the line, I'm not agreeing to
ten games. Kiss my ass. I didn't do anything. We're
going to fight this to the end. Not happening. No,
I'm not agreeing to ten games. No, let's go to court.
Let's sit down, let's have a discussion. Show me what
you got. The fact that they accepted the ten games. Dude,
(05:25):
he did it like this idea that well, yeah, I
mean we were so disappointed by it, and we just
were you know, I can't can't believe the NFL. No,
you agreeing to that punishment is basically saying, yeah, I
did some funny stuff, you know, And hey, listen, I
just want this to be over with. I just want
to move on. So all agree to ten games. If
(05:49):
that's me, If that's you, think about your reputation, think
about your future, think about your career. If Justin Tucker
gets into the Hall of Fame, he's good for life.
We're talking about immortality. We're talking about all the benefits
that come with that, not only just from your one
of the greatest ever do it. You're on the shortlist
(06:09):
of kickers in the Hall of Fame, but we're also
talking about paydays for the rest of time. Throughout your life,
You'll go to signings, You'll you'll member a bit like
you're asking. Price goes up. You are taking care of forever.
Anytime you're making the walk on radio Road, the Super Bowl,
you've got sponsorship opportunities. All of that is gone. Now
(06:33):
it's gone. So you mean to tell me you agreed
to cut all of that off and you didn't do anything.
The answers there He did it based on the accepting
of the ten Games, and anybody, including his representative, trying
(06:56):
to push back on it. Now you're wasting your time
at the Jonas n X, at the Jonas Knox and
X and he can hang out with us as always
on the iHeartRadio app. All right, So the Ace Bailey
situation is fascinating to me because Ace Bailey basically didn't
(07:17):
want to work out with anybody, wanted to get drafted
by Washington and then gets drafted by the Utah Jazz
and he looks miserable, just does not look thrilled, doesn't
look happy with his destination, doesn't look happy with where
he's going to be playing basketball to start his career.
And so since then it's been announceding, hey, listen, Ace
(07:37):
is going to show up. He's going to report to
Utah to work out with the Jazz. Couldn't be happier.
So part of his representation, Andrew Whitleieb was on front
off his sports and had this to say about their
strategy and the strategy of Ace Bailey heading into the draft.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Because you know, again this was led by his longtime manager,
Omar Cooper, who's who we're partnering with on this, and
Omar really, you know, focused more on fit rather than
going third in the draft kind of thing. He wanted
someplace where Ace could have the best possible basketball fit
for his game, and we think Utah is one of
(08:22):
the best places he could have gone.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
So you can hear that now and be like, well,
of course they're saying it now. They got drafted by Utah.
They know it's a bad look, okay. Or we can
just be honest about the whole thing and say, we've
seen this before countless times. Countless times we've seen players
(08:47):
not want to go somewhere and try and force the
hand before they ever played a snap professionally. Jim Kelly
didn't want to go to Buffalo when the Bills drafted him.
He opted to go to another league, and then once
he got to Buffalo realized, oh, it's awesome and we've
(09:10):
got the chance to have a really great team. The
rest was history. John Elwaite didn't want to go to Baltimore,
forced his hand, went to Denver. Guess what, Baltimore ceases
to exist. They went to Indianapolis. Eli Manning didn't want
to go to the Chargers. Force his hand, forced their hands,
(09:32):
went to the Giants, the Chargers. We've seen this countless
times before. They've even pointed out how recent draft picks
Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley like they just didn't want to
work out for certain teams, didn't want to go to
certain teams. Paul Pierce was hoping the Celtics wouldn't draft him.
(10:00):
This has happened throughout the history of basketball. Football. Players
have done this constantly major League Baseball. You get drafted
by a team, you don't want to be there, I'll
go back to college. This is not the first time.
This is not foreign to sports. We've seen this. Caleb
(10:22):
Williams didn't want to go to Chicago. Now they're playing nice,
and he talked to Ryan Pace and all this stuff.
They wanted to go to Minnesota. They didn't want to
go to Chicago. So this idea that everybody's coming to
Ace Bailey and they're just, you know, they're ripping an
Ace baying. Oh my god, it's a bad look and
it's terrible and he's setting a tone for his career
(10:44):
and blah blah blah. It's like, no, dude, there was
just no other good storylines in the draft. Let's call
it what it is. This was the most interesting one.
Cooper Flag was going number one. Everybody knew that. Everybody
knew that it was the Cooper Flag Draft. And then
(11:09):
Dylan Harper's mom stole the show. Like what other storylines
were there? So people are making this out to be
the end of it. Yeah, he's put himself in a
bad spot. Why would he set himself up like this?
He got, you know, bad intel and bad info and
(11:31):
bad advice from his agency and blah blah blah. And
now they're just playing nice and they're trying to backtrack
on their words. Okay, or we could just say this
has happened before. You mean to tell me every player
in the NBA or the NFL got drafted by the
team they wanted to draft them. You need to tell me.
(11:52):
You need to tell me every player who gets drafted
goes to their preferred destination. It's pretty rare. And so
this guy tried to pull a few strings. They were
talking about, we want to go somewhere where it's the
best fit for us. We felt like maybe Utah wasn't
the best fit. And now afterwards he's gonna report and
(12:12):
they're gonna show up, they're gonna play, and the rest
is history. But the problem is, there was no real
other interesting storylines, so we made this out to be
more than it really is. The reality is, we've seen
this before and we're gonna see it again. It happens
all the time, there's just you know, other stories to
(12:34):
go along with the draft that bury this because it
ain't that big of a deal at the Jonas Knocks
on X at the Jonas Knox on X and you
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can also find us on Instagram as well too
at Jonas Knox Show. That is, at Jonas Knox Show.
We are going to have the usuals coming up later on.
We've got another edition of Do You Care. We've also
(12:55):
got the Scraps. It is a two hour extravaganza here
on FSR and on the iHeartRadio app. And we now
know who will be targeted in the NFL this upcoming season.
Find out next.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Hi, this is Jay.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
I'm the producer of the Paula and Tony Fusco Show.
Usually in these promos they ask you to listen to
the show. I'm here to ask you please don't listen
to the show. The hosts are two absolute morons who
have the dumbest takes on Sports Imaginable. Don't listen to
the show so it can get camps the.
Speaker 6 (13:40):
Get him Paul, Ignore that fool.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Listen to the Tony Fusco Show on the iHeartRadio app
or wherever you get your podcasts. He's still moving, Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up, we'll call it a little
over ten minutes from now there's in av that could
be growing and could be growing fast in a hurry.
We'll tell you what that is coming up here. It's
(14:07):
an NFL event that'll be yours here a little over
ten minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio. So
one of the more fascinating storylines heading into the NFL
season is what the hell of the Jaguar is going
to do with Travis Hunter? Because he can play wide receiver,
he can play corner. They've kicked the tires on him
(14:32):
so far in practices, worked with the defensive side. You
got their defensive coordinator saying, hey, man, we'd love to
get him over there, even more working a lot as
a wide receiver, Like you've got all of these tools,
and it's hey, what are we going to do with
this guy? How can we implement all these tools and
(14:53):
he wants to go and play wide receiver and corner.
He wants to do what he did in Colorado, and
what he did at Colorado he did at a high level.
And so as you get ready for the season, it's
one of those storylines that you look at and go, man,
how are they going to pull this off? Because it's
a difficult thing to do. So how are they going
(15:15):
to pull this off? And so Willie Cologne, former NFL
offensive lineman, Super Bowl champion, he was on FS one's
Breakfast Ball, and he said how he would approach Travis
Hunter if he was going against him.
Speaker 7 (15:34):
I know how I would approach a guy like this.
I'm gonna test his arm. I'm gonna see how tough
you really are. If you want to be a two
way player in the NFL, I'm gonna see if you're
strong enough to be a two way player. So when
I'm pulling around that corner, I'm gonna test that twelve
on your chest, right, And so for me, if if
that war he that's listen to what the players are saying.
They're curious if he should finish an eighteen game season
(15:56):
going both ways. I promise you he won't. They won't
move him to once your ball nest cornerback and allow
him to be the best corner a B because not
only are you going to have to make tackles, you
all have to go stand getting hit too.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
So that was Willie Colowne on f S one's Breakfast
Ball talking about how he'd approached Travis Hunter, and he's
one hundred percent right, And Travis Hunter is going to
get targeted this year and there's going to be people
in the NFL and guys in the NFL that are
going to do whatever it takes to light him up
any chance they get because they want to see, Okay,
(16:28):
what do you got? Can he can't he do it
because he's trying to do something that nobody does. He's
trying to pull something off that nobody does. And the
Jaguars simultaneously are trying to do something with a player
that's really difficult to do. And he's going to want
to be out there, and he's going to want to
(16:49):
play on both sides of the ball, and he's getting
Liam Khane's going to try and come up with all
these different ways and elaborate ways to get the ball
in his hand and all that and you're gonna have
players in the NFL that are like, oh, you could
pull that off in college. But because of all the
attention he's getting for how unique he is, there are
going to be players in the NFL that are going
(17:11):
to want to test him and are going to want
to light him up to try and show him you
can't do that here. And from all accounts, he's a
great guy, not cocky, not full of himself, good dude,
down to earth, smart, no drama, no off the field concerns.
(17:32):
And then the stuff about his fiance or wife, now,
which some people made a lot of, but this is
similar to when a player comes in and is really cocky.
When a player like a Caleb Williams comes in, there's
a reputation. You need to tell me. There wasn't players
last year that we're trying to take shots at Caleb
(17:53):
Williams like, oh, you're the number one pick. We've been
hearing about you for years. They've been hearing about Travis
Hunter for years years, and there's gonna be players in
the NFL they're gonna look at him and be like,
who the hell are you. It's hard to play one
position at a high level. You're gonna try and do
two positions at a high level. I mean, we all
(18:18):
want to see it. We want to see how this
plays out. We all want to watch and see whether
or not he can do it, whether or not he
can pull it off, whether or not they can make
it happen. It makes the Jaguars that much more interesting.
They gave up a lot to go draft him. They
identified they listen, this is a talent we want here.
But there's gonna be people around the NFL that are
(18:39):
gonna look at this and be borderline insulted. Oh so
he thinks he could do this on both sides of
the ball. When Devin Hester was an all time kick returner,
the Bears tried to make him a receiver and there
was decent success, but it was nothing like when he
(19:02):
was returning kicks and punts. Primarily, like you've seen people
in the NFL try and pull this off before. You've
seen them go down this road to try and pull
it off, to try and get the ball in his
hands as much as you possibly can. And there's gonna
be people in the NFL that are going to target
Travis Hunter because they don't want to see it on
(19:22):
their watch, not happening. We're not getting made an example
of not here. You can do it in college, you
can do it in Colorado. It's just not going to
happen here. And so when Willie Clone says, yeah, this
is how I'm gonna approach him, and it's a long
ass season like that, that's going to be the most
challenging part of Liam Cohne's job. How do I manage
(19:44):
his snaps? How do I get him out? Everyone claims, listen,
he doesn't get tired, he doesn't get tired. He's not
getting tired. Now you've added more games on, you've added
better competition. I'm fascinated to see how it works because
I want to see if he can do this because
we don't get to see this. But there's gonna be
(20:06):
players in the NFL that are going to look at
that and go f this man, exactly as Willy Colohanne said.
There's gonna be players that are gonna target Travis Hunter
and be like, no, no, no, no, no, no no no,
that's a Colorado thing. That's not an NFL thing. And
let us show you how this works. Here at the
Jonas Knocks on X at the Jonas Knox On x

there's an event. There's an event that could be coming
to a city near you, major NFL event. We'll get
into that for you right here on FSR. But for
all the latest from around the world of sports, ladies
and gentlemen. You talk about a major event. Yeah, every
(21:14):
time he hits on next to his mic, it's a
major event. He is the prestigious, He is the magnificent.
He is the one and only, Sir Isaac Longron.
Speaker 8 (21:36):
My genius switch has no off position. We have a
lot of news today in the NBA, Jonas, because ESPN
reported the Chicago Bulls trading Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland
Cavaliers that exchange for Isaac o'coro. ESPN also reporting just
moments ago, free agent guard Sam Merrill's agreed to a
four year, thirty eight million dollar contract to stay with
the Cavaliers, while restricted free agent Davion Mitchell reportedly agreeing
(21:59):
to a two year, twenty four million dollar deal to
return to the Miami head We had a trade today
in the National Hockey League. The Anaheim Ducks traded longtime
goaltender John Gibson to the Detroit lead Wings for goaltender
Peter Murrazak and two draft picks. Two major League Baseball
games going on right now. The Oakland a is a
one nothing lead over the Yankees and the top of
the sixth inning? Did I say the Oakland A's Did
(22:22):
I say Oakland?
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Okay? I mean there's some people who still say San
Diego Chargers. Don't worry about it. There's some people call
I'm going to get in big trouble with the Athletics.
You know, they they frown upon people still slipping up
and calling them Oakland. I mean, I'm gonna have to
watch my step now. They're gonna they're gonna send somebody
down from Sacramento in Las Vegas looking for me. Yeah,
(22:45):
I'm sure, just.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
Add to the long list of other people who were
after me for various reasons.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
The Athletics. I mean, look, this is whether it's the
San Diego Chargers. There's some people who still call the
Cleveland Guardians their former names, and those people call the
Washington Maders name.
Speaker 8 (23:00):
Yeah, but this is a formal thing that like they
really don't like it when even though it's an innocent
slip of the time. Athletics Athletics, Athletics. Brent Rooker is
seventeenth home run of the season four The Athletics so
the Detroit Tigers after five innings a six to two
lead over the Minnesota Twins. Labor torre As a two
run home run for the Tigers, his ninth and moment ago.
(23:21):
Riley Green hit a solo home run for Detroit, his eighteenth,
finally Jonas. In track and Field News, American sprinter Chris
Robinson was able to win the four hundred meter hurdles
at the Austravia Golden Spike Track and Field Meet in
the Czech Republic despite experiencing a wardrobe malfunction of his
(23:45):
shorts that caused his chenitals to be exposed for all
to see during the last half of the race. And
we have the audio call, of course, because it's audio
nut video because this is Radio NOTT TV. Listen to
commentators Hannah England and Tim Hutchings.
Speaker 9 (24:04):
Chris Robinson absolutely flying down the back straight, just stopping
to adjustice shorts. And Chris Robinson strides into that hurdle.
What concentration to keep himself going here, Chris Robinson stumbles
there on the penultimate hurdle. He's got one more to go,
but he's going to be a win for Chris Robinson
at the United States forty eight.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
One just gets the win.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Boy here just said in front, dipping at the line
and getting home in the league. Do apologize for images here?
Speaker 9 (24:33):
I don't think a replays are being censored anywhere.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Well, there certainly has been time to send to them,
So kudos to those Yeah, well, I just like to
compliment them on their professional me too. You know, as
a broadcaster sometimes you get thrown for a loop from
time to time, like they thought they were calling the hurdles.
Next thing you know, a horse race jump broke out.
It's like, so I give them credit for that being
(24:57):
able to go from calling the fifteen hundred hurdle to
the javeline look to the last uh the last leg
of the Kentucky Derby. I see. So no, I That's
exactly how I feel, because I think if it was
an American commentator, I mean, how would you have described that? Well,
(25:20):
I would have lost my job. That goes without saying yeah,
that's I mean, I would have lost my dead. There
would have been I mean so many uh so many
innuendos and references and jokes just because I mean, why
can't you joke with that? You remember Chris Jones running
the forty yard dash at the at the combine.
Speaker 8 (25:35):
Oh, that's right, that happened to him.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Yeah, Oh my gosh, all his cash and prizes came
out on the uh it's there in Indianapolis. So well,
I mean, look how his career turned out.
Speaker 8 (25:46):
I'm just saying, I mean, I mean, you It just
gave me tremendous admiration for this guy, Chris Robinson, because
you have great performances through adversity and sports history. The
Jordan flu Game, for example, so many examples of Willis Reid.
But to have that happen to you in a hurdles event.
(26:07):
I mean, that is some unique potential adversity. I would
have made a business decision there, if you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Well, but and he's still on the race. He's still
won the race. Yeah, and that and the part that
I'm confused by is people were so impressed, Oh my god,
and he still managed to win the race, like, yeah,
of course he's running with three legs. He should win
the race. Of course he should. I look at it
a different way.
Speaker 8 (26:30):
I just think it's an indictment of his fellow competitors
to not be able to win the race despite his issues.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
I mean, what do you want him to do? A
giraffe got out on the track, Like, what are they
supposed to do? They're they're running the hurdles. All of
a sudden, you know, somebody opened the front door of
the zoo nearby.
Speaker 8 (26:52):
You're very complimentary towards him for non track and field reasons,
I tell you.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
I mean, like, listen, I think I think everybody should
really take a bow for the way that they handled themselves.
Him for you know, for still winning. The commentators, the
commentators for being professionals, and you know, the people there
running behind Chris who had to step over radiator hoses
to get to the finish line.
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Who would have thought that the biggest publicity that the
Ostrava Golden Spike Track and Field Meet in the Czech
Republic would ever get would be because of something like this,
I think.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
I mean, you know, those fans and attendance must have
felt privileged. You know, it's the fastest gas pump they've seen.
Speaker 8 (27:41):
Do you have like an app where you can just
automatically call upon it's Do you have like a sports
radio thesaurus? You just described the situation and it comes
up with thirty or forty different similes that you can
drop on a moment's notice. And No, I guess I'm
very impressed by this.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Because I just think people are too negative sometimes and
sometimes we need to point out the positive in sports
more often. And I'm just simply trying to compliment everybody
that was involved there.
Speaker 8 (28:09):
You really do, I know, thanks to your thanks to
the source that you have in your mind.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
So kudos to you. Thank you. Isaac Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up in
about twelve minutes from now, we're gonna have another edition
of Do You Care that'll be yours here on FSR.
So there could be a major event. By the way,
you can get me on Instagram as well too. At
Jonas Knox Show, you can follow a lot. We'll post
(28:36):
the post the insulting tweets as they come along throughout
the course of the show. We'll put that in the
IG stories. But you can follow along. They're all sorts
of content at Jonas Knox Show. So there's a show
that apparently is going on the road. So the tight
End You which is this event that's been going on
for a couple of years now, put together by George Kittle,
Travis Kelcey and Greg Olsen where they invite tight ends
(28:57):
out and they all work together and try and get
better and it's a it's a big event and it's
slowly but surely gotten bigger and bigger. This year it
was back in Nashville, Taylor Swift performed on stage and
it's kind of been this exclusive private event. They open
it up i think one night to fans on a
Tuesday night, and now people that are running the event
(29:20):
have talked about, well, you know this, we could be
taking this on the road, like it could be. It
could be a traveling road show and it would make
all the sense in the world. And it again illustrates
how as great as the NFL is, they've got gold
mines all throughout the league. These are tight ends, right,
(29:43):
We're not We're not talking wide receivers. We're talking tight ends.
And yes, there's some really great tight ends in the NFL,
but we're not talking about the faces of the league.
And yet it's gotten more popular and more popular and
more popular. And this has been my thing with the
whole quarterback. See when it comes out when they do
the Quarterback Series and they feature three quarterbacks each year
(30:05):
in the NFL, you do realize you have star potential
at every single position in the league, every position, and
you've got the ability to promote and get notoriety for
every position in the league. Like they still keep rolling
(30:26):
out hard knocks and some of the tired content they do.
You could roll out something that just features the tight
end position. You could roll out something that just features
running backs Christ, you could roll out something that features
Lineman O Lion and D Lineman. But this has gotten
bigger and bigger and bigger. And if I'm the NFL,
(30:48):
I'm looking at what these guys have put together, and
I'm like, how can we get our hands on this?
Not that specifically, but how can we do something similar?
How can we promote and how can we push other
positions in the league. And to me, there is gold
lying around the NFL to where if you really want
(31:11):
to build the brand, build the product, throw it on Netflix. Like,
have a different position group each each year, hire a
film crew, follow each position group, three players from each
position group each year, and then once you get to
the offseason, roll out different seasons of this first season
(31:32):
as quarterback, second season. Like they've got an opportunity here,
and I think the NFL is going to look at
this and try and make a move towards it, just
like they didn't realize what they had when they started
moving the draft on the road. The NFL moved the
draft on the road because there was conflicting events in
New York. There was some Easter event taking place in
New York, and the NFL is like, okay, well where
(31:53):
we're going to put the drafts Okay, well, just we'll
put it in Chicago. We'll do something different, then we'll
be back in New York. And then it happened, and
they realized, oh Jesus, this is like got major potential,
went back to Chicago and then just started moving it around.
And now you've got cities and franchises in fan base
(32:15):
that are like, can we get our hands on the draft?
Do you want to come here? Green Bay just did
like three hundred thousand people or whatever it was to
come out for the draft all three days. I'm telling you,
the NFL is going to see the popularity of this.
And it's not just a Taylor Swift thing. She played
one concert. I don't even know if she played more
than one song. The NFL's got an opportunity here, like,
(32:38):
instead of focusing so much on just the quarter of acquisition,
you've got gold line around the league. I think they're
going to start taking advantage of it here pretty quickly
at the Jonas Knox on AX, at the Jonas Knox
and Axe, and again you can get us on Instagram
at Jonas Knox Show. Coming up next here though, it
is a Nether edition of Do You Care? And it's
yours right here on Fox Sports Radio Jonas Knox Fox
(33:01):
Sports Radio coming up top of next hour. We'll call
it a little over twelve minutes from now, there's somebody
in the world of sports who still doesn't get it.
They still do not get it. You will hear why.
That'll be yours here on FSR. Before we get to
another edition of Do You Care? For the week, want
(33:21):
to remind you that you can check out the Fox
Sports Radio YouTube channel. There's a ton of great videos
from many of our Fox Sports Radio shows. Just search
Fox Sports Radio on YouTube. You'll see a whole bunch
of video highlights from our shows. And be sure to
subscribe so you always have instant access to our Fox
Sports Radio videos on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (33:40):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time
DMZ reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big
stories from the last week. But Jonas, the real question
is do you care?
Speaker 1 (33:56):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell people
have been talking about. Bo.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
The Chicago Bulls are trading Lonzo Bull Lonzo Ball to
the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaac Accorro. Jonas, Do you care?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
No, not really, I hope Lonzo Ball. Can you maintain
his health? I hope he can get back to how
he's playing. But this just feels like a guy who
was drafted really high, came in with a bunch of
hooplac courtesy of his dad and the big baller brand
and all that, and ever since then, he's just not
been able to stay healthy. And then you've got the
(34:30):
speculation that maybe it was the shoes that led to
his injury issues and all of that. So I'm just listen,
hope he can stay healthy, but ultimately not a big deal.
Speaker 6 (34:40):
Next, Lakers, shooting guard Austin Reeves turned down an eighty
nine million dollar MAX extension from the team earlier this week,
hoping to enter unrestricted for agency next year where he
can make a ton more money. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (34:53):
No, not really, It's a smart Pea's smart play. Like
what did they expect he was just going to accept
the deal and turn down more money next year. Like
he's a key part of that team. He's going to
get paid, he's going to get rewarded. He's handling it
the right way.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
Next, the Timberwolves, in power forward slash center Naz Reid
will agree to a five year, one hundred and twenty
five million dollars deal when free agency officially begins in
the NBA. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, I do? Like oz Reed just shoots threes, literally,
just like I think he's six eleven. Just shoots threes.
I think he's six eleven, like one hundred and fourteen
pounds and just stands back and shoots threes. And nobody's
blocking his three because nobody can get up there. But
what was great about nos Reed is while the Timberwolves
(35:38):
were playing a playoff game at WrestleMania and Las Vegas,
there was some random fan who just held up a
sign that said nas Reed like no, like had nothing
to do with a professional wrestling event. The Timberwolves are
playing a game at that time, and some random fan thought, Hey,
here's a good idea. I'm just going to go into
(35:59):
wrestle Maia and Vegas and hold up a giant sign
that says nas Reid. So apparently he's a big fan
favorite there and so he's going to be back for
a few more years.
Speaker 6 (36:09):
Next, the FIFA Club World Cup saw one million empty
seats for the group playstage. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (36:18):
No, God, No, I don't care, And hey, what do
they I mean? Look I'm as big a fan of
big time soccer tournaments as anybody. I love big time tournaments,
whether it's the World Cup, the euro Cup, you could
even throw the Gold Cup in there. I'm a big
fan of these tournaments. But I mean, at a certain point,
you can only expect us to care that much. Let's
(36:39):
go live to our I have a thought on this
inside of Christoph Pep for the latest great Well Jonas
as the host of the overnight sensation World of Soccer,
I am here to tell you that we on the
World of Soccer do not care either, and we are
the ones who's supposed to care about this. I mean,
like I know that they This is like when the
when football tries to come out with different leagues, like
(37:00):
this is all FIFA just wants a slice of the
Champions League pie and they're mad about this, and like
this is the odd years these are supposed to be
when everyone's taking a break, everyone's exhausted, both fans and players.
Nobody wants this. Yeah, there's more important stuff going on,
like Savannah Banana games.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
Next Texas State is closing in to officially move to
the new PAC twelve. Jonas, do you care.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Only if only if because this will make their eighth
team when this happens, the Bobcats of Texas State. Only
if they can stop calling themselves the PAC twelve. All right,
go back to the Pack eight. It's what they were
in like the nineteen sixties. If they could do that,
then I'm going to care much more about this. It's
nice to see the conference start to build back up
(37:45):
again with everybody leaving, which was of their own fault
and their own doing. But let's cease calling at the
PAC twelve. Let's just call at the Pack eight and
let's ride with Texas State being the eighth member.
Speaker 6 (37:56):
Next Diamondback second baseman Katel Marte finally opened up told
the media what he was yelled at by the fan
in Chicago. Apparently the fan in Chicago yelled at him
that he had DMed his mother the previous night. Can tell.
Marte's mother obviously passed away in twenty seventeen and led
to everything we saw since then. So Jonas, do you
(38:19):
care about this revelation?
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yes? I love it. Here's why are we sure that
this fan knew what had happened.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
To thank Martine he was just about to say?
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Or was it something along the lines of and for
people that aren't I'm listening. I'm not trying to dismiss
it is. It is a tragedy. It's sad. He was crying.
It's clearly a sore spot. I get it, trust me,
been there, I get it. But how do we know
this wasn't just in you know, a throwaway comment like, hey,
I DMed your mom last night, not knowing what had happened.
(38:56):
He was.
Speaker 6 (38:57):
He was also just twenty two years old apparently, So
I'm starting I'm sigdning with you here.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
I just I don't I don't know that this was
that the intent was, well, I know, I've done my research,
and I know that his mom passed away, and then
I'm going to say that it was probably just he
said it in passing, trying to be a you know,
a clown and a wise ass, and maybe it came
across that way. But yeah, I just I saw what
he said. I'm like, well, yeah, that doesn't mean that
he knew. I'm not justifying it. It's terrible. It's terrible
(39:24):
what happened. I also think if you're going to punish
the guy, like actually punish him, don't tell him you
don't get to go see the White Sox anymore. You
know what I mean? What are we talking about here next?
Speaker 6 (39:33):
Uh? Well, last weekend, in the words of our favorite
Ryan Berschinger, I did get after it at his wedding. Uh, Jonas,
do you care? Would you like to know how how
much I got after it? And yes, yeah, a time
would care? A time care because it was.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
You know what what's most insulting is that there were
two big Fox Sports radio events last week. You had
a Cadino and Rich in Las Vegas. You had Ryan
Berschinger's wedding. I didn't get an invite either, did not
get an invite to either. And all that I want
in life is to be invited to say no. That's it.
I just want to be able to say no. But
Ryan Berschinger and his beautiful bride got married. How much
(40:12):
did you drink?
Speaker 6 (40:14):
An old fashioned? At least three beers a bottle, a
glass of wine, some champagne, tequila, soda, vodka double cool,
and then maybe some other illicit substances at some point
in the nine and in and out. Shout out to
Ryan for the Internet truck.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
You drink all that? Oh yeah, Jesus yeah bo By
the way. Thanks to lead to Lap for producing with
us here on this Saturday afternoon. We appreciate it. Yeah,
there's somebody in sports who still doesn't get it. Still
don't get it. It's not how it works.
Speaker 7 (40:46):
Pal.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
We'll explain who that is coming up here just a
couple of moments from now. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to this show as always on the
iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates
all across the country and wherever you are making us
a part of your Saturday afternoon. We appreciate you doing so.
(41:09):
We're gonna take you all the way up until the
end of this hour four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific.
A lot of positive feedback so far on the show.
People really fired up, really upbeat about what we've done
here on the show thus far. Ethan Rights in Buenas
(41:32):
Diaz limp D. It's great to hear you get back
to your roots talking about two way players and gas
pumps is your specialty. All that time living in Chatsworth
is finally paying off you. Boardop Bitch Fletcher Rights in
(41:56):
your sports takes are so pathetic that I should get
a charity tax break for listening to them. No wonder
David Vass hates you. Go lay down with Fred Rogan
some more, you slovenly sloppy boy at the Jonas Knocks
(42:17):
on X at the Jonas Knox on X and you
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
We also post the unedited versions of all of those
on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show. That is, at Jonas
Knox Show where you can find that. Yeah, that's uh,
but listen, Hey, that's just the beginning. There's plenty more
(42:38):
to go. And one of the things that we talked
about at the beginning here on this show was the
reaction to Ace Bailey and him wanting to try and
pull some Shenanigans, call his shot and try and wield
a little bit of power to dictate where he was
going to go in the NBA draft. He ended up
going to the Utah Jazz. Apparently they didn't want to
(43:01):
go to the Utah Jazz. But now the report is
he will report to the Utah Jazz and they're telling
everybody they're happy about it. They're good, no problem here
and no issue whatsoever. He wanted to go to Washington
at six. Washington tried to move up, didn't happen, Utah
took him whatever. And my whole point on it is, Dude,
we've seen this before through the history of time in
other drafts. We've seen this before. We've seen it in
(43:22):
the NBA draft where guys didn't want to go to
certain organizations, they didn't want to work out for certain teams,
and everything usually works out okay for everybody involved. It
usually works out okay. Even when you do get your way,
(43:42):
it usually works out for both sides. If you want
to go to the NFL route and talk about John
Elway and what happened with him, he didn't want to
be there, He's going to go play for the Yankees,
ended up with the Broncos. It worked out, Eli Manning
Philip Rivers. It worked out. So I look at that
storyline in the draft and I go, that's only becoming
(44:06):
a big deal because there was no other real interesting
storylines in the draft other than what we saw happen
at the top and what we saw happen when it
came to the number one and two picks, Dylan Harper
going number two, and everybody's staring at it at his
(44:27):
mom and making the same comments about his mom on
social media, and then Cooper Flag going number one. Other
than that, not really a whole lot of juice to
go along with the NBA Draft this year that for
some reason they thought was a good idea to span
over two nights because that's what we needed. That's what
we needed. That would like that would be like the
NBA saying, man, you know, this NBA Finals has been
(44:48):
so fun, We're going to stretch it out a little
bit and make it nine games. Sure, why not? So
why not? We've been here since April. But yeah, let's
keep going. So the Ace Bailey Store worry to me
is a story because there wasn't a lot of other
juice in the draft. Last year you had Brownie James.
This year you didn't have that. So Cooper Flag going
(45:10):
number one, which was the worst kept secret in sports,
and the Dallas Mavericks make it happen. And what's funny
about this is that Nico Harrison, the GM of the Mavericks,
still apparently doesn't get it. Still doesn't get it. So
take a listen to the line of questioning for Nico
(45:30):
Harrison the night that they picked Cooper Flag earlier this
week in the NBA.
Speaker 10 (45:37):
How much do you see the addition of Cooper Flag
to the organization helping try to get that goodwill back
with the Dallas Mavericks fans. Yeah, I think it's been great.
I mean, I've seen the fans react to that since
the number one pick, and it feels like they're feeling
really good and optimistic about the future. Niko's piggybacking off that,
(46:00):
are you hopeful optimistic that by drafting Cooper some of
the anger that had been directing it directed at you
personally will subside? Now I'm hoping so, you know, I'm
assuming so a little bit. Maybe.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Yeah, that's not how this works. Sorry, it's just not
doesn't work that way. They just you know, it just
it doesn't work that way. When you make a move
like that, you will be compared to and judged on
that move for the rest of your career. That's just
(46:38):
the reality. Joe Shane will be judged based on his
handling of the Saquon Barkley situation for the rest of
his career, right or wrong. And Tyrone Tracey could go
out and rush for twelve thirteen hundred yards next year
and there's still going to be giants fans like, are
(47:00):
you kidding me? We had Saquon, he was in the building,
he wanted to be here, and you guys played around
with your food and you made a mess of the
organization and we were clowned, and on top of that,
you let him go to Philly. Nico Harrison can sit
(47:24):
here and say, well, yeah, I think, you know, hoping
some of the anger kind of dissipates here. But there's
not a problem anymore. And people are just really excited
about Cooper Flag. No, yeah, I'm sure they're pleased with
Cooper Flag being the number one pick and it's a
nice consolation prize. The reality is Luca was the superstar
(47:44):
that did not want to leave, much like Saquon Barkley
did not want to leave, and you made the move
and made the decision to walk away from him, and
then afterwards try and sell everybody on well you know,
they didn't. He didn't he didn't take his diet serious
and his work ethic and all this, and all these
(48:05):
different reports came out basically fat shame in the guy
Mavericks fans aren't gonna be happy, and there's some fans
who just aren't ever gonna be happy because here's what
we know. Luca is a phenomenal player. Guy's a superstar.
He's got what two years ninety five million left on
(48:25):
his deal. You know how much money that guy's going
to make the rest of his career. And even if
he's in LA and they don't win a championship, it's
pretty a pretty safe bet that if you had to
bet who's gonna have a better career, Luca or Cooper Flag,
(48:46):
you would probably take Luca. Why because we've seen it,
we know what that looks like. Cooper Flag is an unknown,
So him trying to rationalize everybody not being as upset
or pissed off about the decision to get rid of
Luca because now they got Cooper Flag. You're fortunate that
you lucked into and fell into or conspiracy theoried you're
(49:08):
way into the number one pick and winning the lottery
and getting Cooper Flag potentially going to be a very
good player. All accounts say, great player. Great dude. Don McLain,
who works with players coming into the draft, longtime NBA player,
NBA analyst. You hear him on the blow torch Am
(49:29):
five to seventy LA Sports speaks very highly of Cooper Flag,
loves his game. But Luca's done this and we've seen it.
Mavericks fans aren't going to get over it. Now, Are
you pretty serious? This is not how this works, asks
Joe Shane. Nico Harrison's going to be judged on that
(49:53):
move for the rest of his career. Set Greenberg, the
ESPN College basketball analyst, What is he known for in
his coaching career?
Speaker 7 (50:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Yeah, that's the guy who when he used at Virginia Tech,
he didn't recruit Steph Curry. Steph Curry wanted to go there,
his dad went there, and Seth Greenberg didn't recruit him.
People still bring that up, so Nico Harrison can try
and convince himself or anybody else around him that, oh, listen,
we got Cooper Flag. I think everybody's gonna be okay. Now, No,
(50:29):
they're not. No, they're not like you got rid of
one of the best players in the league instead like
instead of hey, listen, man, could you get back into shape?
And you know, we've got to work with you on this.
Who've got to do this? Wh've got you know? But
I may we just went to the finals. We were
(50:49):
literally just in the NBA Finals. We've got a team
that is clearly competing, but we're gonna trade him. I'm
gonna make my mark on the organization, all right, And
there's going to be fans that will never forgive him.
Cooper flag might go on to be a five six
time All Star. There's really great things in the league,
(51:12):
and people are going to look at this move and go, yeah,
but sweet, we got the number one pick. We got
Cooper Flagg had a great career, but we had Luca.
You made the move to get rid of him. He
can hope all he wants that. There's some people that
are going to forget about it to forgive him. There's
gonna be majority of them that never will. That's how
(51:34):
this works at the Jonas Knocks on X. At the
Jonas Knocks on X and you can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app. You can also
get us on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show. That is
at Jonas knock Show, where you can find content posted
throughout the course of the week. You can also find
the insulting and rude tweets that are sent in each
(51:54):
and every show. Here on a Saturday, all that'll be
in the IG Stories. We'll get that posted up sometime
before the end of the show up next here, though, listen,
you don't have to take it from me, but take
it to somebody who knows this guy in the NFL
better than all of you. Find out who right here
on fs are Boom touch Us for Jonas Jonas Knox
(52:18):
Fox Sports Radio coming up a little over ten minutes
from now. There's something that I don't get. I don't
understand it. It's a really really big deal and I
don't know why. But we will have that discussion for
you again coming up here in a little over ten
(52:40):
minutes from now, because I don't want to listen. I'm
not trying to be negative or try and throw any
shade or anything like that. It's just I don't get it.
I'm sorry, I just don't I don't understand it. But
we will have that conversation with you again coming up
here a little over ten minutes from now. So Breese Hall,
running back for the New York Jets, was that Fanatics
(53:03):
Fest and he was on the Get Got pod with
Marshawn Lynch and Mike Robinson, former Seahawks, and they asked
bre Saw. They said So what was your experience like
with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets last year? And he
had this to say, very misunderstood person.
Speaker 11 (53:24):
Great dude comes off to people a certain way, but
once you really get to know him, you realize how
good of a person he is. But last year, you know,
when you're when you're losing games, the blame gus put
on the on the faces of the team. So that
and it just so happened to be like gods like me,
Sauce Garrett, Aaron, Quinnin and Quincy. So I feel like,
you know, when you're losing, somebody has to get they
(53:45):
has to get let go. But people, what people don't
realize is when stuff is crazy organizationally, then it's hard
for the players to you know, have stability and win games.
So I feel like, you know, you can't you can't
always blame the players because when you're stressed out mentally,
physically and emotionally, it's hard to show up every Sunday,
every Monday, every Thursday. But I love Aaron and me
and him still have a great relationship.
Speaker 6 (54:06):
To this day. So that's my guy.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
So you'll hear Bresall say that, and it's like Okay,
let me guess. Aaron Rodgers a great guy. This is
this is why you brought this up. No, no, that's
not a surprise. We've heard that. And again, I've never
met Aaron Rodgers. I don't know the guy, but have
no clue. Everything I've heard is he is a good dude.
You've heard teammates, you've heard players talk about it, like
(54:34):
most of them get along with him. But there is
this sort of reputation he has, whether he's air again
and aloof and all that, and maybe that's maybe that's true,
maybe that's fair. I have no idea. But what's interesting
is that Breeshall made a comment there sort of mixed
in with everything, and he basically called out the Jets
(54:54):
organization and said, you know, when there's you know, dysfunction
and issues organization, it's hard to you know, players get
to blame and whatnot. And for some reason, that still
gets lost in how things went last year and whether
(55:14):
or not Aaron Rodgers was to blame for what was
going on. For some reason, that still gets lost, even
though we've got all the intel in the world, we've
got years of evidence, we've got players that have talked
about it, We've got years, years of evidence that that
place is a clown show, and for some reason it's
(55:36):
still sort of just kind of thrown under the road,
like ah yeah, but listen, eight, you know they moved on,
ready to move on, and now they've got Justin Fields
a quarterback. Okay, that's a guy who's still there. Bries
Hall's still there and he's telling you, yeah, you know,
(55:58):
it's kind of hard to win games. And when you know,
the organization is is what it is, a lot of dysfunction,
a lot of issues going on here. Like we could
sit here and try and make this about well, you know,
Aaron Rodgers was damaged goods and he was you know,
he's never going to be healthy and he was old.
It's like, dude, I don't nobody's fixing that. Nobody's going
(56:19):
to fix that, not Justin Fields, not Rogers. Nobody's fixing that.
There was a small window of time that they had
to fix it potentially, and then Rogers achille ruptured. That's it.
Once his achilles ruptured, it was over because, as I've
(56:42):
said last week and on Fox Sports Radio, that threw
the timeline off for everything. Because now you've got a
coach who's on the hot seat. You've got a quarterback
who's going to be out for over a year by
the time he's back to anywhere close to what he
was before. And then you've got coaching chain and all
sorts of story and the owner getting involved in Madden
(57:03):
ratings and his sons, and Breeshall's telling you like, yeah, listen,
Rogers a great guy. There's no issue there. But people
have to understand when the organization's got issues, got problems,
it's hard to win games and we just want to
kind of no, but you know, but Rogers brought all
(57:24):
that stuff there. You know, Rogers is part of the
problem because he brought all the drama and all that
say It's like, no, dude, this has been going on
for decades. This is not new, Like we have seen
people and players leave there and thrive like, this is
(57:49):
not there's nothing new about this. Geno Smith, remember him,
all of a sudden gets to a better organization in
a little bit more stable, gets an opportunity, and that
organization basically said goodbye to Russell Wilson because they bought
into Gino Smith and now he's with the Raiders, and
(58:10):
all of a sudden, the Raiders quarterback situation is vastly improved.
That was a Jets draft pick, Sam Arnold, remember him,
Oh my god, the Jets. Oh boy, Sam Donald that's
a bust. Yeah, bounces around, finally gets an opportunity, gets
in a good situation. Former Jet. And that's not to
(58:35):
say that Sam Darnold's gonna go out and light the
NFC west on fire. Now's a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
There's been some stuff there. Yeah, maybe you know, Tom
Brady didn't want him to, but we've seen multiple examples
over and over again where you leave there and you
get better. Todd Bowles just got an extension with Tampa Bay.
(59:00):
Todd Bowles was a former coach of the Jets. So,
like I know that everybody wants this to be about
just raw it like Rogers isn't the story here. It's
that organization like him going to join the Steelers and
going to be a part of that. I think his
(59:20):
time in New York made him appreciate Green Bay more
because I think he realized, oh my god, like geez,
that this is how it is. I think he chose
the Steelers in part because that was the opportunity. But Also,
he doesn't need to keep playing. He said it as much.
He doesn't need to. He's a first bout Hall of Famer,
(59:43):
He's won a super Bowl his career set, he's good,
five hundred touchdowns, he's good. Took care of that last year.
But I think he looked at it and said, man,
I want to go out like I came in with,
basically Green Bay AFC. And that's tradition, history, stable organization
(01:00:04):
like Breesehall. Talking about Rogers isn't really the point. And
Breeshall mentioning, you know, and there's dysfunction with the organization.
That's the point. And I got news for you. Now
that Rogers is gone, that's still there. It's still there.
Even after Rogers left, all the leaks that still came out,
(01:00:27):
all the stuff about you know, closed door meetings, discussions
with Aaron Glenn, it's still there. So we can try
and be like, oh we rid ourselves of him. The
hymn you haven't ridded yourself of is Woody Johnson. And
as long as he's there, that place is still going
to be a circus. At the Jonas Knocks on X,
at the Jonas Knocks on X, and you can get
us on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show. So coming up
(01:00:49):
next here we are going to tell you about something
in the world of sports that I personally do not get.
I don't understand it. I don't and it's a huge deal.
I don't get it. That'll be yours here on FSR.
But for all the latest from around the world of sports.
Speaking of big deals. This man deserves respect now, and
if he doesn't get it, he'll rip it from your
(01:01:11):
cold dead ears right through the airwaves. He's the one,
he's the only He's the magnificent, Sir, Isaac Longkron.
Speaker 8 (01:01:20):
Now, speaking of respect, it appears that you have one
more hater joining the party of your veritable army of
social media trolls. Would you mind if I passed along
his well wishes?
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Oh? Yeah, please?
Speaker 8 (01:01:34):
All right, Cameron posting and I quote at the Jonas
Knox you suck so bad at radio. You make Happy
Gilmour look like he's good at hockey unquote. Now, I
would say that that was a valiant effort, but I
think your Yeah, you gotta go a little deeper, more insulting,
(01:01:55):
more creativity.
Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Yeah, not funny, Yeah, that's the that's not even worth
a retweet.
Speaker 8 (01:02:00):
Not funny, that's not funny. That is a classic. I
mean it stands out like a sore thumb. That is
a classic. First negative tweet directed at you.
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Yeah, it's just it's I mean, look, I don't I'll
retweet stuff that's funny, Like nothing insults me, Like I
don't like you know, I don't take offense to any
of this stuff. If it's funny, it's gonna get retweeted.
He's funny, it's funny, person, And some of this stuff
is just not funny. Like there's some people to send
stuff in every week. They try so hard and it's
not funny at all. Like, and yet you know there's
(01:02:33):
someone in their life that lied to them and said, hey,
you know, you're pretty funny. Can you imagine that? Imagine
going around your entire life thinking that you're funny and
you're not. And how do we know based on stuff
like that? Where So, whoever that person is in your
life that told you were funny, you have our permission
to go walk them, walk straight up to them, look
them square in the eyes, and say you're a liar.
(01:02:56):
You lied to me, and I just got made a
fool of on the air. Could you say that to me? Perhaps? No,
I would have ful to you you are funny. No, and
you're great at your job.
Speaker 8 (01:03:11):
I mean, but I've told you that you were funny
many times over the years.
Speaker 1 (01:03:16):
I don't know about that. I don't know about that either.
Speaker 8 (01:03:18):
All right, But I think instead of insulting this gentlemen,
we're just trying to motivate and inspire him to take
it to a deeper level with subsequent social media commentary.
Plenty of commentary and news in the NBA today is
ESPN reported in the Chicago Bulls trading Lonzo Ball to
the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Isaac Ocoro. ESPN also
(01:03:42):
reporting that free agent guard Sam Merrill's agreed to a
four year, thirty eight million dollar contract to stay with
the Cavaliers, while restricted free agent Davion Mitchell has reportedly
agreed to a two year, twenty four million.
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Dollar deal to return to the Miami Heat.
Speaker 8 (01:03:58):
In the National Hockey League, today, the Anaheim Ducks traded
their longtime goaltender John Gibson to the Detroit Red Wings
for goaltender Peter Murrazik and two draft picks. Gibson was
the Ducks all time leader among goalkeepers in appearances, starts,
and saves. We have two Major League Baseball games going
on right now. The Athletics with a seven to nothing
(01:04:19):
lead over the Yankees at Yankee Stadium going to the
bottom of the eighth inning, and the Detroit Tigers have
had four home runs. They're up eight to four over
the Minnesota Twins now in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
Jonas all yours, Oh thank you, Isaac. By the way,
Jason writes in Hey Jonas, you board up bleep, can't
wait to bleep it out here your new great white
hype hope bleep flag in your MAVs onesie. Congrats bleep.
Speaker 8 (01:04:51):
See that's the kind of standard that your fans aspire to.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
Yeah. Not to be out done by Brian, who writes
little Jony is a kid in heaven tonight getting to
see your hero Jake Paul getting wax tonight while you're
working yourself to your beefcake in those tidies while he
works up a sweat and you bleep in your pants.
You needle bleep. It seems to be a common theme
(01:05:18):
on that one. Apparently I'm not that hurt elier at
the Jonas Knox on X that is at the Jonas
Knox on X and you can get us on Instagram
at Jonas knock Show. We will have that posted here
in a few moments from now, we'll post all the
unedited versions of all of those. It's just ridiculous, Isaac.
(01:05:41):
Can I ask you if you don't mind, I have
a question? What do you mean?
Speaker 8 (01:05:44):
Can I do this? If I don't mind? It's your show.
It literally is the Jonas Knox Show. You don't need
to ask for anything. We report to you around here.
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
So I saw this on television earlier and just out
of curiosity during one of the breaks, I was just
looking this up the Savannah bananas. Yes, I don't get it.
Speaker 8 (01:06:06):
I don't get it either, but it seems that everybody
else in America does. And it's not just a regional thing.
Because you remember about a month ago they sold out
Angel Stadium in Anaheim. They had bigger crowds than the
Angels have had this year. Everything is sold out.
Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
I'm looking at all of these dates on their calendar.
Every single event is sold out. They have one I
think this weekend or did they have just the past
couple of nights at National's Park that was sold out.
They've got some coming up in Boston, Saint Louis, Philly,
(01:06:44):
and these hold out.
Speaker 8 (01:06:45):
These are not just in ballparks. These are in eighty
thousand stadiums, stadiums, college football and NFL stadiums. The one
I just saw was a Clemson I just what am
I missing here? What's the what is the what's the appeal?
I absolutely agree. I'm fascinated by the hysteria. I'm happy
(01:07:05):
for their success, but I was just thinking about this,
is this something that is going to be sustainable in
a year, five years, ten years. I find it fascinating because,
like you, I'm happy for their success, but like you,
I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
I had a buddy, my buddy's wife went to like
they went to go see them in Anaheim and talked
about what a great time it was. Yes, such a
good time, and I'm like, well, I'm sure it was
better than the Angels, But I mean, like, what do
we why? It's basically like a musical, It's a baseball musical,
(01:07:42):
and I don't even know if it's like can you
bet on these games? Are these actual results? Some of
the guys look like they can actually play, but they
also dance and do flips and like all.
Speaker 8 (01:07:51):
Those guys on being stilts. One guy's on stilts by
the way, September thirteenth and fourteenth Yankee Stadium. That they're
going to sell that out too.
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
And here's the part about it. So it's baseball, but
it's not really baseball. And I would venture to guess
that they draw bigger crowds than what percentage of Major
League Baseball teams?
Speaker 8 (01:08:13):
Would you say that percentage would be most of them?
Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Yeah, it's I'm listen. I just don't get it.
Speaker 8 (01:08:23):
Were you a fan of the Harlem Globe Trotters growing up,
because they used to be a huge deal back in
the day on Wild Wide World of Sports. I wonder
if that's comparable to this in terms of entertainment.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
I mean, were they going on the road like this?
These guys were on the road. It looks like all
years they were going on the road, but they were,
you know, just playing arenas. They were playing internationally, but
you know, they weren't necessarily playing in football stadiums to
eighty thousand people. Yeah, I'm sorry, man, I just don't
I'm trying to Like they showed there was one I
(01:08:56):
think was from earlier. It might have been from April,
and it was where they were at cl Clemson Tiger
Stadium are in Death Valley, and like the place was filled,
sold out and they had Dabo Sweeney was there to
throw out the ceremonial first pitch. They've already had a story.
Speaker 8 (01:09:13):
Done on them, on a profile done on them on
sixty minutes, which is like a signature that you are
culturally relevant.
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
I want to see how much tickets are. What would
you if you had to guess how much you think
tickets are, I would say, well, I'm on their website
right now, if you can get a ticket. Oh boy,
it looks like they have a waiting list, a waiting
list for tickets.
Speaker 8 (01:09:36):
There's a ticket interest list, all right. They started thirty
five dollars and range up to one hundred and twenty
five dollars for premium experiences, but no hidden fees, no tax.
But they only sell tickets through a lottery. That's how
popular they are.
Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
That's how popular they are. Look and again, I'm with you, man,
I'm not trying to dis you know, to diminish their
abilities and what they've done. Congratulations, it is awesome. I
just I don't understand the appeal. I really really don't.
Perhaps I don't get it. Perhaps this might be dangerous,
but perhaps you can open it up to your your
(01:10:14):
devoted fan following the people who tweet you at the
Jonas Knox with tweets that you have to repeatedly censor
that negatively comment on your personal characteristics. Like they're playing
at PNC Park coming up next in August, at the
end of August, completely sold out. They've got it as
(01:10:36):
it should be compared to the Pirates. Yeah, in P
and C part let's just hope everybody stays in their seats,
especially in the outfield. I just want to be clear here,
we gotta be careful. I apparently this they just continue
to churn out money. Man, this is it like a
cash cow and they sell out big venues. These these
are not small little Williamsport type stadiums. Cores Field, Camden Yards,
(01:11:01):
right Field.
Speaker 8 (01:11:04):
It's wild and they currently have a five ticket limit
per party. First of all, you have to you have
to sign up for a lottery just to get in,
and then it's it's a five person limit. So I
suppose if you have five kids, you're out of buck.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
I mean all right, like I could understand Anaheim. You know,
like I've been to Monster Jam at Angel Stadium like
three times. Oh the Monster Truck eventsage. Yeah, my son
loves the monster and those are fun. Like you go
to you to Monster Jam whatever, and they pack it
in every single time. I could understand Angel Stadium.
Speaker 7 (01:11:42):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
This is all across the country, big venues football stadiums.
I think in Tampa, I think they did like close
to one hundred thousand people at Raymond James. It is wild.
Speaker 8 (01:11:54):
At first, I thought that this was just a regional
thing because it was kind of just in the South
and the southeast. But when you can go coast to
coast and you can sell out Anaheim right on the
West coast and you're moving into the northeast, I mean
that tells you.
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
Something that's crazy.
Speaker 7 (01:12:12):
Yeah that is.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
But hey, listen, congrats. I just you know, I'm not
sure that I totally understand it, but nonetheless, congrats everybody involved.

too at the Jonas Knox. But right now it's time
for this Jonas.
Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
Moron, how could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
Moron?
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
These are the scraps And for that we turn it
over to our executive producer, Bo Benson to find out
what the hell we've missed so far on the show.
Speaker 6 (01:14:13):
Bo, Well, Jonas. A lot of people refer to this
as the sports dead period. There's no more NBA, it's
just baseball. But not around here, because we've got UFC
three seventeen today.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
That's right, baby, that's right, International Fight Week. And let
me tell you something. Ilia Toporia. For those of you
that have not heard that name before that are not
aware of who Ilia Taporia is, he is potentially the
next star of the UFC. He's already won a title
(01:14:45):
in one way class. He gave up that title to
go up and try and compete to win another title.
So now he's going up to lightweight to try and win.
He's taken on a really tough, dangerous former champion, Charles Olivera,
but Ilia toa Poria is a potential superstar. So if
you have a chance, check it out. I'm just telling
(01:15:07):
you we've been right about this stuff before. We told
you about Israel Adisanya years ago, before he became a superstar.
Tipoorio's got the potential to be the next big thing.
What else we got both?
Speaker 5 (01:15:19):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (01:15:19):
Clayton Kershaw is expected to make his next start on
Wednesday against the White Sox a big one because he
is three strikeouts away from his three thousand for his career,
would become the twentieth Major leaguer to do so. And
I may buy tickets and go to that game because
that would be a huge milestone to witch to witness.
I mean, what if he went there and he just
(01:15:40):
got teed ah, I mean totally expected it would be
so funny. Against the White Sox too.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
I would say he's been so much better than I
think anybody expected he was going to be.
Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
Yeah, since he's come back, I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
It's clear it's not the Kershaw old, But I think
everybody just assumed, hey, you'll take whatever you can get
from him. At this point in his career. Dude, he's undefeated,
He's got what a three something.
Speaker 6 (01:16:03):
Ere three r A. It's weird. There are certain athletes
I think where they're so good that I some drop
off is always going to be expected with age, But
like I mean, Lebron is still great. I didn't see
why Kershaw couldn't still be great. And he has been
fine as long as he stays healthy, which is the
big question mark. But and they've needed it too, which
(01:16:24):
has been huge.
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
Like yeah, I did, like you remember the old days,
you know, like two months ago, where it was like, man,
they've got a ten man deep rotation.
Speaker 6 (01:16:31):
Oh yeah, which happens every single year.
Speaker 1 (01:16:34):
Jesus. Now they're talking about trading for Sandy al Contra. Yeah,
it's like, oh, well, he's the best pitcher on the market,
like whatever, the ten man rotation. Yeah, And I think
and what I did like that they did with Kershaw.
He was at I think sixty nine pitches against Colorado, like, eh, yeah, yeah,
we'll pull from the game.
Speaker 6 (01:16:52):
Yeah, well, Dave Roberts really wants him to get that
three thousand strike out in LA. That's That's the thing
with Dave. Is he always once those Hollywood moments.
Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
Yeah, that's the So it'll be another another big event,
another big spectacle Dodger Stadium. How much our tickets right now?
Speaker 6 (01:17:08):
That's a good question. I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
Let me just go ahead and take a peek for you.
Let me see what we got here. If bo wants
to go ahead and get out to Dodger Stadium on
the Wednesday, and he wants to be a part of
Clayton Kershaw getting three thousand strikers, what would you say. Yeah,
the prices are.
Speaker 6 (01:17:30):
I'm looking at eighty eight dollars tickets on reserve. That's
not bad for for that, that's fine.
Speaker 8 (01:17:34):
Yeah, yeah, eighty eight bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Get out there and see a little bit of history.
Speaker 6 (01:17:38):
Yeah, nobody else, go keep these tickets down.
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
Yeah, keep keeping rising market here, I mean that's is
that eighty nine he's included? Well, this is not bad.
I mean, listen, there's been much much worse pricing out there.
But if he goes out there and just gets teed
off on. That's gonna be He's so good. Oh my god,
oh man, what got Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Staying in Los Angeles, Luka Doncic is reportedly motivated by
how the Dallas Mavericks threw him under the bus after
the trade that sent him out here to Los Angeles
the way the Lakers season ended, and he has committed
to a offseason training and nutrition program. Additionally, Lebron James
is expected to pick up his option, and he is
not entering this season with any certainty that it will
(01:18:23):
be his last.
Speaker 1 (01:18:24):
Yeah, but don't worry about it because Nico Harrison said, Yeah,
he expects that fans are going to be a little
bit more forgiving now because I'm your super flag. You know,
an unknown. It's very talented and should have been the
number one pick, but an unknown that's gonna make fans
in Dallas forget about him trading away Luca. Yeah, it
just doesn't.
Speaker 6 (01:18:43):
It doesn't make any sense, you know. And it's so
funny how quickly like Luca's star has fallen for some people,
like I keep seeing like it was okay to trade
him because he doesn't play defense, and it's just like
you did you forget just like he led the playoffs
in every category just a year ago. Like, he's a
top two player in the NBA and you traded him,
(01:19:05):
So it doesn't matter how good Cooper Flag is. I
don't and I don't think Dallas fans are ever going
to forgive Nico Harrison for doing that.
Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
They were in the finals, Yeah, I don't, That's what
it's not like. Uh yeah, but he just never lived
up to his potential. What do you mean they were
just in the finals and he just said, wow, no,
we got to move on. We don't want to commit
that much money to him. Okay, oh you know, we're
not sure whether or not he's going to be available,
so you trade for Anthony Davis. I just none of
(01:19:33):
it makes any sense. This has been a fun show
thanks to Chris Voe and Isaac. Alex Curry is next
year on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Son of a Bitch
