Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Yeah, here we go.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's week eleven in the National Football League. The weather's
getting cold. The Christmas lists, the holiday lists are coming together.
People are texting each other. What do you bring into
the Thanksgiving meal? We are a reaching that time of
year and things are taking shape, and for one team

(00:25):
in particular, not the shape that they're used to. We're
going to get to it all on another awesome Sunday
night live in the Fox Sports Radio studios. This is
Fox NFL Sunday Long with you from Salama, Mark Wheeler.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Good evening, my man. How are we doing tonight?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Always good, man, always good, always.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Good, always good. That's one of the things I like
about you. Now.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
That said, before we even get to anything that's going
on in the NFL. When e Fram and I get together,
there's always a little NBA, there's always a little I
don't know, maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Parenting, know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Well, speaking of life in not too far from my
neighborhood where I live, something happened this week that was
just quite frankly unthinkable, And I want to start the
show out by mentioning and some of you may have actually,
certainly you may have heard of it throughout the week,

(01:30):
but also you may have seen something that that happened
in the Bears Vikings game that that actually had a
direct to connect to it. There was a beautiful interception
in the end zone, I think by Nashon Wright, and
he became very sort of overwhelmed immediately with emotion after

(01:53):
making this interception. Come to find out that years and
years ago he was one of the players that came
up through a coach who gained fame on Last Chance
You Unbelievable yep, Netflix docuseries that many of you are
familiar with, and it bounced around to different schools here

(02:13):
and there, but it ended up locking on on the
coach John Beam, who is one of those people who
just touches so many lives. It's amazing when you see
someone touch a lot of lives and every single one
of those lives has the kind of the same thing
to say about him. This is a man that I

(02:33):
don't want to say he had no enemies. I don't
know him that well or whatever. And obviously he was
a force full coach, so I'm sure he's ruffled a
feather or two here or there. But this is somebody
who had a profound effect on a lot of lives,
a lot of young lives, a lot of lives in sport.
And he at this point in his career, was the

(02:53):
athletic director at Laney College Junior college here at Oakland, California.
In what was apparently a targeted event by someone who
did not play for Coach Beam just walked onto the
campus this week and shot him in the head and
killed him. And so I just want to put my

(03:14):
thoughts and our thoughts. I bet you'll have a lot
more to say on this, probably a lot more profound,
But to the entire football community, to the entire Barrier community,
to the family of John Beem, and to anybody who
was a fan of just watching Last Chance You, that's
where my thoughts are this week.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
It is beyond tragic.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And then it is also just the most maddening thing
in our country. I think is just the most maddening
thing that this kind of gun violence continues and seemingly
just nothing can be done about it, apparently.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
So that's where my head wanted to start tonight.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, and that's a good place. And you know, I
never had the pleasure to play for coach Beam or
to coach against him, but my best friend. The first
person I ever met when I got to San Diego
State was a receiver by the name of Will Blackwell.
Will Blackwell went the skyline High and Coach Beam was
his coach, and he talked about his coach with such

(04:19):
reverence and how he changed his life, and he changed
a lot of guys' life, especially growing up in that
time in Oakland. It was a safe space for them
to be and he wanted nothing but the best from them.
And even from the documentary Last Chance You as he's

(04:42):
doing his interview, Will's jersey is right behind him. Will
Blackwell the still is jersey number eighty nine, along with
a host of other guys that he's coached it or
now who have made their way to the NFL. So
I was well versed on Coach Beam and how he
coached and the things that he's done in that community

(05:03):
and a lot of lives that he saved, and Will
attested like if it wasn't for him, I don't know
where I'd be. And so for someone like that who's
affected so many lives in a positive way to be
slain and taken from us, it just number one that
makes you appreciate life and no matter what's going on
in your life, just the value of life. But number two,

(05:26):
the senselessness of violence, gun violence, and it just something
has to change. We got us start looking at life
with more value, whether it be yours or someone else's.
And I don't know what the answers are. I don't
know what the solve is, but like you so eloquently said,

(05:48):
thoughts and prayers go out to coach Beam's family, as
friends and everyone whose life that he touched.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah, yeah, well.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Said, I had a feeling that you would have either
a direct or indirect connection to coach John Beam, because
that's just kind of who he was and who he became,
and if you're in the football community, there's probably going
to be that. So I'm glad you had a chance
to share that as well. So anyway, really really tough

(06:19):
week for a lot of people here in the Bay
Area because of that. It was actually the second gun
event out of school in the city of Oakland just
this week, and so yeah, every single time, I know
it feels a little mundane, and people don't even like
the phrase thoughts and prayers anymore, but I feel like
it's kind of our duty to say something every time,

(06:40):
and who knows, man, maybe sometime in our lives, those
with power will actually do something about it. That would
be that'd be awesome. But we'll keep pushing anyway. Glad
you're with us tonight. We got one hell of a
Sunday night football game coming up tonight between the Lions
and the Eagles. I can't believe that if the Eagles
win this game, and they're favored to do so, the

(07:02):
Lions are going to be six and four.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
It's like, how are they six and four?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
They're playing pretty well, but it's been a tough goal
for them, and the Chicago Bears will be in first
place if that is to happen. And so it's another
reminder that all is not equal in the NFL. These
teams don't play the same schedules. This is what happens
when you have to play a first place schedule and

(07:29):
you know who else is playing a first place schedule.
The Kansas City Chiefs, they're playing a first place schedule.
They are one in four on the road, and that
was a hell of a battle against the team you
and I have been following a lot. But the Denver
Broncos come out on top twenty two to nineteen over
the Chiefs dropped them to five hundred. And I had

(07:51):
to tell you what, man, like the idea. It's one thing.
Patrick's not gonna win the Super Bowl every year, be
unfare thinkable for him to not even make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
But they're staring at it right now.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Man, They're staring at a real life possibility of not
even making the playoffs, which is wild.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah, it is wild. And I can promise you any
amount of money in the world if you would have
said at the beginning of the season, Hey, after ten,
Kansas City will be five and five and on the outside,
the far outside, looking in in terms of trying to

(08:34):
solidify a playoff spot. They they have. They got work to.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Do, yep. And the division, as far as they are,
that's gone. That's gone. They are not right.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
They are not catching the Denver Brown So they are
now a wild card contender. And their scenario is is
that they are a game and a half behind the
Chargers and the just have a game in hand on them,
So go ahead and call that at least two games
they are a game behind the Jags.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
The Jags have a game in hand on them.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
They are now even steven with the Baltimore Ravens, even
though they've got a game in hand on them. Steelers
six and four, even though in first place, let's mention them.
And then there's the Patriots and the Bills, and the
Bills are full two games ahead of the Chiefs with
a game in hand against them. The math is getting
tough for the Chiefs. And they play the Colts next week.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, they play the Colts. And then they have the Cowboys, which,
you know, say what you want to say. Anything can
happen when you're you know, in Dallas. Then they have
the Texans, also a team fighting to get in and
stay in the hunt.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Then they have the Chargers, right, but then they got
to play the Broncos again, and so they can't they
cannot afford.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
To.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
They have to beat the Colts. They have to be
They have to beat the Colts, they have to beat
the Chargers, and they have to beat the Broncos. And
if they lose any of those games, then I don't
see them making the playoffs. So when you and then
and I left the Titans out, I left the Raiders out.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Sure, sure, sure, probably gonna win those games.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Right, probably gonna win those, right, probably gonna win the
Cowboys game.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Probably probably that one's in the air.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I don't know, it is. It's a very dangerous game.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
On Thanksgiving like that's you know, it's a big national thing,
and the Cowboys will be all turned up and yeah,
but they'll probably win.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Yeah, but you have to beat the Broncos, the Chargers,
and the Coats.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Well.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
I also look at it this way, like, I don't
know if the Chiefs have ever played a playoff game
before on Week twelve, but that's kind of what next week.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Well, they got to play it on Week twelve, thirteen spots.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yeah, I mean, you think about this now because also
something just happened today.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
That never ever ever happens.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
I want to know what it is. Andy Reid just
lost off of a bye, off a bye. Now that
was significant there. Now, the Broncos were coming off of
a mini by themselves, but that's a thing, that's a
thing that is.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Known around the league.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Andy Reid off of a bye, and they did not
win that game. And now they're going to get the
Colts off of their bye, which I think, although the
game is in Kansas City, is a significant piece of
this puzzle. So you look at the Chiefs sitting at
five and five layout everything that we just did, which

(11:48):
is for me, they're definitely a wildcard contender. But that
means because there's only three of them, the Bills, the Ravens,
the Chargers, the Jags and the Texans, you gotta find
a way to finish ahead of I mean, only only
two of those teams can beat you. I'm looking at

(12:10):
it now. I don't think you're going to catch the
Bills because they got a game in hand on you.
The Chargers you mentioned them, that one's a little ah,
I'm not sure. And the Jags because they've got a
game in hand on the Chiefs. All three of those
teams are ahead of the Chiefs. All of them have
beaten the Chiefs. I don't see them getting it done

(12:31):
if they lose to Indye next week.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah, because the thing that we aren't even talking about,
and this is where the urgency comes from me for
Kansas City. Yeah, the team that's tenth right now in
the standings, Kansas City is ninth. The team that's tenth
are the Baltimore Ravens, and they squeaked one out today.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
I mean, don't talk about it.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
We will get to it. But what I'm saying Baltimore
Ravens schedule is much easier than Kansas City's, so Kansas
City cannot They're both five and five. Kansas City can't

(13:22):
lose ground because if you lose and Baltimore continues to
win out like we all thought that they had a
possibility to do at least the next five and this
was what three weeks ago. They've won three out of
those five that they needed to win so far, and
so you want to talk about pressure on Kansas City,

(13:45):
Baltimore is coming as ugly as that win was today,
they are coming. Their schedule is more conducive for them
to make a late run than it is for you.
And so now you found yourself in a position to
where those games that we mentioned, like the Colts and
the Chargers and you know, the the Houston game, the

(14:08):
Broncos game again, you those are must wins every single time,
because sitting at nine right now, with the Jags and
the Texans ahead of you and Baltimore below you at ten, it's.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
A lot going on.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
You're going on right there that Jags loss, like that's
the team to me. Keep an eye on them. They
literally because I don't think they're very good.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
No, but.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Yeah, and that and that game in hand that they
have on the Chiefs could really come back to bite
Kansas City. The Jags have six wins, They have two
games left with the Tennessee Titans. They still host the Jets,
they will be in Arizona next week.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Literally, if all they do is just.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Win those because they also have Colts Denver Colts again.
But if they just beat Tennessee twice, the Jets and
the Cardinals, that's a ten and seven football team forces
the Chiefs to get to eleven wins, which means the
Chiefs can lose count it up one more time, one game,

(15:17):
one more time. The rest of the year. They're in trouble, Bud.
That's that's they're in trouble.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
This is the well they came into this week as
this was a must win game. Yeah, this was a
must win game. They they did not win, ironically enough,
And you know what, this will be a little bit long,
so I'm going to get to it. Let's hold it
after the break, Let's hold it.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Let's hold it. We got a lot to do at all,
kinds of time to do it. Eagles and Lions are
about to kick off. We'll get you all set up.

Game underway and like many games on the East Coast today,
I was just joking with everybody back in the studio.
This is another one of those games where they're showing
the kickers kick the ball and the balls look like
they're trying to escape the stadium, Like you kick the

(17:36):
ball and the ball's like this is my chance. I'm
making a break for it, and it's just like right
turn like, So keep that in mind as we're watching
this one tonight. Nothing is going to be a given
in the kicking game. And if you have Jake Elliott
and Jake Bates, you got all the Jakes in your
fantasy league.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Good luck, good luck to you tonight. So we're underway.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
We'll keep you up to date on this one now
from back to you.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
No, I was the thought I was having was when
I was watching that Kansas City Denver game. I thought
back a year ago and Kansas City was on this
mind numbing bender of winning games that they had no

(18:26):
business winning, to the tune of I believe eleven in
a row last year and then at some point seventeen
in a row total, where they prevailed in one score games,
which is almost impossible to do. And watching that game

(18:47):
and how it came down to the to LUTs on
the field goal yep, I started thinking about and I
believe they even talked about it in the broadcast one
year ago. This game came down to the very same thing.
I believe. The yardage was the same, thirty five yards
yep for pay dirt yep, and Kansas City block the kick.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Right, I think the way, if I'm remembering correctly, the
one difference is is the game was not tied.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
No, No, it was Jeeps were up by a point.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
They were, yes, yep, And and so that block kick
actually won them the game.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
And so I'm like, oh, snap, here we go again,
and and of course they let's hits the field goal.
But I said this at the beginning of the year.
Teams that make it a habit and specialize in winning
one score games, very seldomly can do it back to

(19:50):
back years because eventually something will break, the damn will break.
It's hard to make a living just apparently, like we're
watching Denver do it right now.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
There's two teams doing it in the NFL right now.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
It's the Denver Broncos and the shiit I go bear
right like.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
And that's a great step for you to believe in
your team and get over a hump. But you can't
make a living doing that year in and year out.
There there are deficiencies if that's the case, whether it
be you can't score enough points and get separation or
your defense can't stop anybody and take the pressure off

(20:35):
the offense. And so watching Denver close that out this
year and now they're the ones winning these one score games,
the shoes or the hat is on the other shoes
on the other foot. Now for Kansas City, yep, they're
owing six I think in morecore one score games and.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Five oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh damn this.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Year one score games. I did not realize that. And
so that's how slippery that slope is when you get
on the other side. Just like you keep winning them,
you can get it in the habit of losing them.
And now they're in that situation where, huh, that thing

(21:22):
that was our superpower last year has now become a problem.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
What what a thing? That's a hell of an observation.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
I did not realize that they are when in their
five wins all of them are double digit wins.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
In their five losses, they're all one score games.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
How about that?

Speaker 1 (21:43):
About that?

Speaker 2 (21:44):
How about that that team that we watched last year,
you wouldn't have believed that.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
And especially with having Patrick.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Mahomes, Just having Patrick Mahomes, you should you know.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Yeah, with with any amount of time on the clock.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
You should win some one score games, you know.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yeah, that's a real thing. Like that's the coin is
completely flipped now. And so now Kansas City is in
the position where they have to blow people out. Are
there going to find themselves in a situation where they're
struggling to even win a game? So when we talked
about that schedule that they have coming up, do you

(22:25):
think they're gonna blow the Coats out?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Don't.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Do you think they're gonna blow the Chargers?

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Are the Broncos? Like?

Speaker 3 (22:32):
So, now what we were saying earlier comes really into
play when you look at the dynamic and the makeup
of their teams, it wins and losses. Whoa, it makes
it even that much more difficult for them to win
these games because if it's not a blowout, it's going
the other way.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Well.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
The other thing it says to me, which we could
talk a little bit more about a little bit later,
is for whatever reason, and I guess some of it
is personnel loss or whatever, but that defense last.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Year was elite. It's not.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Oh no year, No, it's not.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
It's not.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
And so you're going to you know what I mean,
in situations like today where it's like ty game, minute
and a half to go, and a young quarterback is
going to go right down the field on you and
win the game.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
That wouldn't happen last year, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Now, if it was an experienced quarterback like Steve De Sager,
I'd expect that stuff.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Hi, Steve, good evening to you both.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
And as you talk about the Kansas City Chiefs AP
because a step further, having lost five straight close games
this year in the Chiefs franchise, you'd have to go
back over fifteen years to the last time. They lost
five straight games that were decided by one score. We
had a lot of football to discuss. Quick baseball note

(23:47):
from Fox's Ken Rosenthal. His source confirms that the Seattle
Mariners are in agreement on a new five year contract
with the first basement of theirs who had become a
free agent, Josh Naylor. And by the way, I know,
we don't have the new college football rankings until Tuesday
from the Committee. Nonetheless, the polls keep coming out. The
top three is still the same, led by Ohio State.

(24:09):
But just maybe an indicator of what to look for
on Tuesday. You know, if you finish in the top ten,
you're probably going to the playoff. Alabama has fallen to
exactly number ten in each poll today, Texas down to seventeen.
And who gets the last playoff spot the best of
the so called group of five. James Madison is the
highest ranked group of five team at number twenty one

(24:31):
in the A People North Texas twenty two to Lane
twenty four. So if you're a BYU, for example, and
you just miss getting into the playoff this season, that's
why because you're in the Big twelve and somebody from
the Group of five is going to get a slot
in the playoffs next month. Now the NFL playoff, well,

(24:53):
we assume it's gonna have Philadelphia in and maybe as
a one seed. Despite all the talk about the Eagles
this year, to would put them at eight and two.
They're hosting Detroit, which is six and three. This game
is scoreless in the early minutes. And you did rightfully
talk about the weather. It was a little bit like
the weather the kickers endured at the Giants game today.
Temperatures in the low forties in Philly, and yes, windy.

(25:15):
Denver was a twenty two to nineteen winner over Kansas City.
Patrick Mahomes one touchdown, one interception, Denver one on a
field goal on the final play. Will Lutz went five
for five on field goals, including a fifty four yarder
with about four minutes to go. Sam Darnold threw four interceptions.
Back in La Rams beat Seattle twenty one to nineteen.

(25:37):
Kyron Williams on twelve carries had ninety one yards in
a score. San Francisco won at Arizona forty one to
twenty two. Brock Party back at quarterback. He had three
touchdown passes. Actually, the Niners were out gained by over
two hundred yards in this game. Associated Press looked it up.
Teams in the NFL that had a yard differential over

(26:00):
two hundred against their opponent had won forty five straight
games until the Cardinals home loss today. Jacoby Brissett forty
seven of fifty seven passing, Yes, that's a completions record,
four hundred and fifty two yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions.
Baltimore won at Cleveland twenty three sixteen. Browns quarterback Dylan

(26:22):
Gabriel left with a concussion. Chaudor Sanders got to play
four for sixteen, passing forty seven yards at a pick
tight end. Mark Andrews of the Ravens the game winning
touchdown run thirty five yards on a fourth and one,
a direct snap to the tight end. Because they don't
run the toast push with Lebar Jackson, they run it
with the bigger guy with two and a half minutes

(26:42):
to go. He got him the victory. Earlier at Buffalo,
Josh Allen three touchdown runs, three touchdown passes. Bill's forty
four to thirty two over Tampa Bay. Chicago won on
a forty eight yard field goal on the final play.
Nineteen seventeen at Minnesota. Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati thirty four to twelve.
Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers with a hand slash wrist injury,

(27:06):
so Mason Rudolph played part of that game. Jacksonville destroyed
the Chargers thirty five to six. Charger offense nine drives,
eight first downs. Jacksonville had thirty first downs. Green Bay
won at the Giants twenty seven to twenty on a
touchdown pass with about four minutes to go, Christian Watson's
second TD about the kicking Brandon McManus was out for

(27:27):
green Bay. Lucas Haversik missed two extra points in this game.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Yes it was windy.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Houston won on a field goal on the final play
at Tennessee sixteen thirteen. The Titans are one to nine.
Carolina won in overtime at Atlanta thirty to twenty seven.
Bryce Young nearly four hundred and fifty yards passing and
three scores. Falcons have lost five straight, and in Madrid
in overtime, Miami beat Washington sixteen to thirteen. Commanders have
lost six straight. If you didn't see this early morning game,

(27:55):
by the fourth quarter tie game, each team went four
on fourth and goal at the one where you could
just kick to take the lead, and each team was stopped.
And then Washington missed a fifty six yard field goal attempt,
and on the first playoff overtime Marcus Mariotta through an interception.
Mattgaye of Washington had also missed a fifty one yard

(28:16):
attempt in the first half. As we usually wind up
saying these international games, we send nothing but our best.
In college basketball, in Birmingham, number one Houston beat Auburn
seventy three seventy two, and today in the NBA, Boston
defeated the Clippers one twenty one to one eighteen. James
Harden thirty seven points in the loss. Kawhi Leonard missed
a seventh straight game with a sprain, foot and ankle injury.

(28:39):
The news on Lebron James is he will practice fully
with the Lakers on Monday. He had practiced with the
G League team in La last week, trying to return
from a bad back.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Back to you, Steve, great stuff, and the only thing
that you maybe didn't do justice is the fact that
you mentioned the Packers kicker missed two extra points. He
hurt people who were sitting three sections away.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Protection.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I have never ever seen extra points missed by that.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
It was like, that's three sections away.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
We did just have a kick in the Philadelphia game
with win, but it was a short field twenty seven
yards for Elliott, three nothing Eagles in the first.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah, and that was off of a turnover Jared Goff
tip pass interception, Eagles turn it into three. Steve, thank you.
We look forward to talking to you throughout the evening.
Mark Willard E from Salam with you and glad you're
with us here in these Fox Sports radio studios. Can
I go ahead and do since Steve just brought it up,
can I do the whole Madrid Spain game? Get off

(29:44):
of my chest thing? Did you watch it?

Speaker 1 (29:46):
We up? Did you watch?

Speaker 3 (29:47):
I watch? Okay?

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Okay, I got like, okay, So I hope this makes
you happy that when I see teams willfully pass up
three points that they desperately need, I immediately think of you.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
It's the first thing.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
That goes through my head, like so much so that
I'm like, I don't care that it's like eight forty
five in the morning whatever, texting my guys, because what
on earth, what on earth.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Are the Miami Dolphins doing.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
On fourth and one of a tie game at the
one yard line, Washington has no timeouts and a backup quarterback,
and they decide we're gonna go for it so that
we can be up by seven. I'm sitting here thinking

(30:46):
to myself, look, if you just take the three, the
likelihood of anything worse than overtime happening is nil. The
worst thing that could happen is that Washington somehow gets
themselves with that little time into field goal range and

(31:07):
tries to tie the game with a kicker who had
already missed a couple of long kicks. So that was
step one. But then something more intricate happened that I
wanted to ask you about. So they go forward on
fourth and they don't get it. That leaves Washington with
the ball at their own one in a tie game

(31:30):
with no timeouts.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
They would like to try to get into field goal range.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
So as they start kind of plodding down the field
a little bit deep in their own territory, Miami arrogantly decides,
we think we've got enough time to stop them and
get the ball back, so we're gonna start firing our
timeouts after every play, which in my mind was like

(31:56):
you're letting Washington stop the clock after every single play,
which is what they need in order to have a
chance to kick a field goal to win the game,
which they then did get only to miss the kick.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Because Jonathan Film was on the broadcast and he's like,
great job, Miami is using their timeouts. You're gonna get
the ball back. I'm like, no, they're gonna lose the game.
Let the clock run out. That is your biggest weapon
in that moment.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
No, No, you're right.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Look what was everyone doing.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
At this point. As someone who considers themselves a student
of the game, I don't even know what to study
to come up with summations on what coaches are thinking
about what analytic book is being read, like, I don't know,

(32:57):
I don't is there. It's gotta be someone designated it
on the team to be like, hey do this, do that,
and they're running like a trillion scenario based equations on whatever.
For me, you already know how I feel. I think
it's ridiculous to leave points on the field and a

(33:21):
one score game and a tie game early in the game.
I think points are real premium and so many games
in the in the NFL come down to one score
if you're willing to continually give up that or for
go that. I've seen what game were we watching today?

(33:46):
Was it the Rams? The Rams and Seahawks? Where the
Rams kept going forward early in the game on fourth
down and not getting it might have been and I'm like, yo,
well it could be sixth nothing right now, right, and

(34:07):
so it's it's it's.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Yeah, and Seattle lined up.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
It was a sixty one yarder, but Seattle, after getting
out played the whole game, lined up.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
They were after won the game, Sam Donald at four picks,
four picks. They were in position to win the game.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
They had to win the game.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Yep, that's that's the thing. And if they would have
kicked that and won that first thing, I would have
been like, oh, well, what did you get? What you get?
Take the points? Take the points. So many teams are
finding themselves losing close games and you can look through
the game summary and figure out, oh, they gave these

(34:47):
points up. Oh this is why they were in the
position they were in, and people just keep ignoring, didn't
just keep right. Well, the analytics says, you know, they
show it on the screen. You know, it says, up,
go forward, forty seven percent of the time. Right now,
I know all that out, man. I don't want to
next J say, Yeahstad, he's getting a lot of coaches fired.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Man.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Now I know Nick Jenstat's cap a team out of
the Super Bowl a couple of years ago.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Yeah, this is a good point. That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Okay, top of the hour, we will do our three things,
our top three observations.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
I think maybe coming up.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Next we should talk about shed Or Sanders, who played
football today in an NFL game. So that's right around
the bend on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Okay, three things coming up, our top observations of the week.
That's coming up here at the top of the hour,
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Mark willard E from Salam so
glad you're with us the night Week eleven in the
National Football League. Like, I want to try to say
this is like rationally as possible, because I don't have

(36:09):
any sort of an emotional tie to any of this.
I just want to point out when I don't understand something.
It's all good. When something is new, it's exciting. It's
why the holidays are the way they are. People are excited.

(36:29):
Maybe open up a gift or something like that because
there's something new in there. I hope you're not wrapping
up old things. There's something new in there, and new
is exciting. So I get that. I also understand name
value and Q rating and stardom and all of these things.

(36:49):
What I don't understand is the way the discussion around
shaduor Sanders sounds.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
If you just want him to play.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Then there's that great you'd love to see him play.
That's a fair thought. But everything the whole career of
Shador Sanders has sounded like something nefarious is happening and
there is a wide NFL scheme to hold the man down.

(37:23):
I'm not going to use today to say that he'll
never be a good quarterback in the NFL. I am
going to use today to ask if people now understand
that in this moment, do you understand.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Why he's not playing.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Four for sixteen for forty seven yards and an interception
and those numbers e from don't do what I saw.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Justice, Ah, that was a rough look at the end
of that football game.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Do you know what it looked like to me, what
it looked like to you that he's not ready to play?

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Huh exactly? And what can I ask what you mean
by that? When you say he's not ready to play?

Speaker 2 (38:12):
You mean like just athletically he's not there yet, Or
do you mean like he's ill prepared.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
It's not ill prepared. Okay, He's going to prepare as
much as he can prepare as a backup quarterback. What
I mean is the things that got him into trouble
in college are one happening to him in the pros,

(38:42):
just faster and more often. Shador Sanders had a problem
with holding the ball too long in college. The problem
is in college you can extend plays and get away
from college players from Northwestern are from Idahole, Stage, are anyway, Michigan,

(39:06):
any it doesn't matter. What you can't do is get
away from anyone in the NBA. I'm in the NFL
holding the ball too long. If you can't hit your
back foot and know exactly where you're going with the ball,
especially in that type of situation, then you're going to struggle.

(39:31):
So when I said I don't believe he's ready to play.
That's what I mean. There are different there are certain things.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Now.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Look, well, he's a backup quarterback. He came in in
a tough situation. A lot of quarterbacks have made careers
doing that very same thing, coming in with an opportunity
to win a game and making themselves a viable candidate
as a starter. It happens all the time. So why

(39:58):
can't it happen for him. He's got to work on
the things that have always gotten him in trouble because
they're exacerbated when you get to the NFL. You cannot
hold on to the ball, you can't be laissez fair,
the grounding penalty, all of those things. Yep, no, brother,
that's not it. You got to come up and you

(40:22):
gotta be locked into the moment. It's one of the
toughest places to come into a football game. Oh well, yep,
welcome to being a pro.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
There was a lot to discuss in that game, and
we'll do that in three things coming up next. Really
really big games this week, really big games this week.
The Eagles lead the Lions right now, three nothing, closing
seconds of the first quarter in Chile Philadelphia. But we

(40:54):
also had the Bucks playing the Bills. We saw the
Rams go against the Seahawks, Chargers, Jaguars, the Broncos, the Chiefs.
This thing is taken shapey from and we're here for
it all. We're talking all of it out live here
in the Fox Sports Radio studios. So as this one unfolds,

(41:18):
some of the observations may even come from this game
or these teams.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
We will find out because at the.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Top of our number two every Sunday night we do
our three things, and these are the top three things
that we really want to bring to you observations from
the day or from the week.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
So here we go. Let's do it three things.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
It's time and I'll go first, as always say you
can go last. And I know that we've touched on
this a little bit already.

Speaker 1 (41:47):
You said it.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
I think last week, maybe it was even the week before,
but I've never seen it as obvious as it was today.
Lamar Jackson is unrecognizable right now. They have won four
football games in a row by sheer grit, and they
find themselves at five and five, and I keep thinking
to myself, it's probably gonna keep going and they're probably

(42:11):
going to win that division. And now Aaron Rodgers is hurt,
and so I still think it may be coming. But
my god, this man is still really, really hurt. And
if you haven't watched him play yet since he came
back from his hamstring injury, telling you you wouldn't even
recognize him.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
He had four carries today for.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Ten yards, four carries for ten yards, fourteen of twenty
five for a buck ninety three with two interceptions.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
They were tip balls.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
And Cleveland is a tough place to play and a
good defense, so I'll.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
Add that in. But you can simply see.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
It in the decisions that he makes on the field
and the decisions he doesn't make.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
He is not feeling well. He does not have his.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
Fastball, and I don't even know if he's got his curveball.
They're finding ways to win, but Lamar Jackson doesn't look
like the Lamar Jackson I know, no.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
And you could tell he's not full strength. You could
tell he doesn't want to reaggravate the injury that kept
him out for five games, I believe, or three four games.
It's hard to watch. It was hard to watch, and
gen and shout out to the Browns defense and Miles

(43:26):
Garrett I mean, he had a career day again. He
was everywhere. It's it's the fact that Baltimore is probably
going to get the final playoff spot. Playing the way
Lamar is playing and where they're playing is crazy, but

(43:49):
that does lend to the type of schedule that they have.
It's it's it's very soft, to say the least. And
he essentially did the bare minimum today to be the
Browns team searching for answers and so I don't know, man,

(44:11):
I don't know. The buy is over. They don't have
a lot of time to rest. There's gonna be some
serious soul searching that needs to happen, you know. On
the flip side, Derec Guaranney finally went over one hundred
yards again, So he's gonna have to carry a lot
of that load coming down the stretch.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
They host the Jets next week. Methinks that will go well. Yeah,
but still.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
The stretch run is coming and he's gonna need to
be a whole lot better than he is right now
if they're gonna win big time games.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
All Right, what you.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
Got, I want to talk about your forty nine ers. Okay,
they have the league exire, especially the NFC exactly where
they want him. They are seven and four, and they
are in a position that we thought they would probably
be in, uh, getting Rock Purdy back today, getting Pearsall back,

(45:13):
having Trey and having Christian McCaffrey, and having Kittle, all
those pieces offensively back. Now going down the stretch of
the second half of the season, I'm a majority of
those guys have missed anywhere from four to six games,

(45:34):
and they're sitting at seven and four. They have the
brown they have excuse me, they have the Panthers next,
the Browns and the Titans. Yep, So in three weeks,
the San Francisco forty nine ers could be sitting at
ten and four with three games to go. They have
the NFC exactly where they won them despite all the Indies,

(46:00):
despite losing two All Pro defensive players. They are just
sitting there like, huh, okay, what's next. They are currently
eighth uh in the NFC, but they're poised to make

(46:21):
these next three weeks a way to solidify themselves, yeah,
getting a wildcard spot.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
They're in pretty good shape and their offense look dynamic.
I don't think that it's an accident that they suddenly
scored forty one points their first forty of the year.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
When brock Purdy came back.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
They people forgot people always do they forgot what he
can do?

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Of course, yeah, Matt Jow.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Okay exactly, So, but here we are. I do want
to point a couple of things out though. You know,
Steve was talking about all the records that Jacoby Brissett broke,
and I get that part of that is because the
Niners are playing saw defense out there. Up by three,
four touchdowns, whatever it may be, but the defense is
still going to present weekly problems.

Speaker 1 (47:10):
I don't care who they're playing.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
They're gonna move the ball on the forty nine ers,
and this offense is gonna have to be phenomenal like
it was today. They're gonna have to be really good
to outscore teams. And then the second thing is just
to add in so that because I don't expect that
everybody watched every game. If you didn't see this one,
you'll go forty one to two. Niners just steamroll them

(47:35):
kind of. The Arizona Cardinals had seventeen penalties for one
hundred and thirty yards, one of them hold that undid
a long touchdown run by Bam Knight. It's the most

(47:55):
penalties that has hang on. Let me check ever happened
for the era on the Cardinals. Meantime, the Niners had
one wow, one penalty. So you're not wrong. I'm not
refuting what you're saying at all. But there were some
circumstances today by a football team that flat out showed

(48:19):
up and gave the game to the forty nine ers
by their pitiful, pitiful.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
Lack of being buttoned up. See the thing about that
is bad teams find ways to lose. Excuse me, sure,
so I never I'm like, well, this team played up. Yeah,
they're bad teams. You have to find ways to win
against bad teams. You can't lose to the Cardinals, you

(48:50):
can't lose to the Jets, you can't lose to the
Raiders because they're trying to give it to you. Right,
That's why those those losses seem to you be like, man,
I can't belave it. No, you that's exactly right. And
it doesn't matter on your part how it looks. You
just have to come out on the other side of it.

(49:14):
That's real. And they side and they did and yeah, no,
nothing critical there. I just think it's gonna they'll.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
Be I said this actually a week ago, is start
your fantasy players in the Niner games because they're a
good offense and a bad defense. There's a little bit
of like last year's Bengals going on right now with
what I think the rest of the Niner season is
going to look like. But we'll see, and I do

(49:43):
think you're right. I do think they're gonna end up
in the playoffs, all right. Number two for me, boy,
the Vikings done mess this up so bad. They messed
this up so bad, and I mean it. This is
a multi tiered point that I'm about to make. I
understand sort of kind of why you didn't keep Sam Darnold.
I know that when you brought him in last year,

(50:05):
you didn't even think like he was in that placeholder
mode like Russell Wilson was this year for the Giants.
You didn't think it was gonna go that way. You
didn't think it was gonna win fourteen games. And clearly
when you drafted JJ McCarthy at seventh overall, you didn't
think he was gonna.

Speaker 1 (50:20):
Look like this.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
And it's very very early in his career. So I'm
not here to bury the guy or call him a bust.
All I'm here to say is my god, you messed this.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
Thing up so bad. And I'm a big believer.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
When you're a company, you have to empower your biggest investments.
Your biggest investment is justin Jefferson, and I can already
tell you he's going to lose his mind.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
You can see it when you watch them play.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
This guy is hucking the ball all over the place
and making poor decision after poor decision and inaccurate ball
and turnovers. And they still almost found a way to
win that football game today.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
They've got talent, and.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
They have a tough home field advantage and all of
these things. But the Vikings are still looking for a quarterback,
or I should say they're looking for one again.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
Yeah I was. I was going to talk about that game,
but you're you're absolutely right.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
They they just gave the game away. Yep.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
And so when I'm looking at the Chicago Bears and
them being seven and three again, Cardiac Cats or Cardiac
Bears or whatever you want to call them, they found
a way to believe in each other, similar to the
Denver Broncos towards the end of games. And that alone

(51:49):
is powerful. If you can have everybody on the same
page believing no matter what happens in the fourth quarter,
you can win, and you consistently do it. We saw
the Chiefs take it all the way to the Super Bowl.
I mean, I can't knock him, you know, Caleb william
was He wasn't spectacular today, but they did enough. JJ

(52:13):
McCarthy probably it's not the guy. I know they're kicking themselves,
and I know Justin Jefferson is kicking himself. Jordan Addison
is kicking himself. They wish they had Sam Darnell back,
even though he had four picks. Today they are seven
in Seattle, seven and three, and Sam is playing extremely well.

(52:37):
I don't know what Minnesota is gonna do. Brian Flores
in that defense is probably like, yo, I mean we're
holding people in the teens. Can you can we get
some help? The answer is no. The answer is no.
So yeah, that's a that's a tough one. That's a

(52:59):
tough one. My I was going back and forth. I
think I want to I'll save that for my third one.
My third one to be my third want to be
football adjacent, but more like a public service announcement. Let's

(53:23):
let's talk about the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
The Chargers were in a perfect position here to go
to Jacksonville and play against a team that we all
agree is all make up, no substance. Yeah, exactly right,
pretty face, wipe that stuff off before you go to bed.
It's like, wait a minute, hey, just not who we

(53:50):
met at the bar and they had an opportunity to
go to Jacksonville and get more distance for themselves than
the AFC, and they laid an egg and I'm eighty
one justin Herbert got hurt. But even before he got hurt,
it just looked bad. There was no no running the ball,

(54:15):
no anything. It did no. They came out completely flat,
no fire, no anything. And shout out to the Jacksonville Jaguars,
who was like, hey man, today we're going to show up,
and we're going to show up in a real way.
Jacoby Myers, I think is going to breathe a lot

(54:36):
of life in Parker, Washington. Two receivers that were brought
over the trade deadline. I think they're changing the energy
of that offense and in that locker room, and so,
you know, shame on the Chargers and are the Jaguars
for real?

Speaker 1 (54:57):
I just it's a weekly question. You can't fitigure it out.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
And the bottom line is is even in a game
like this like what happened today, is that the Jaguars
ran the hell out of the ball. They used a
two headed monster and by shell Tooton and Travis etn
were both fantastic. They both got into the end zone
etend twice. Trevor Lawrence is still Trevor Lawrence. I just

(55:21):
don't think he's all that good. But you see a
score like this, the Jags defense is ball hawking.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
They do.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
They create a lot of turnovers. Herbert was kind of
in and out of this game. Was a little bit hurt.
The Chargers threw the ball on a day where they
lost by twenty nine. That means you were behind the
whole time. They threw for less than one hundred yards.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
Less than a hundred It's unbelievable. It's unthinkable.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
They could not generate first downs and their weaponry was
all available. You had Keenan, you had McConkey to Quinton Johnston,
you had Arenda gadsdenything, everybody was ready to roll, and
they could not get a first down. So yeah, bad, bad, bad,

(56:11):
bad performance by the Los Angeles Chargers today. Okay, last
one for me. I'll be brief with this, but you
know that in the city in which I live.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
Draymond Green is an athlete here.

Speaker 2 (56:25):
And Draymond runs hot and Draymond does things to really
upset the opponents and fans, and he is insufferable unless
he plays for your team. The thing is is he's
got four rings and he does like really intricate stuff.
I don't know if anybody got a chance to watch
him guard Victor wembin Yama twice this week, and wembin

(56:47):
Yama has.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
Not struggled like that all year long.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
So Draymond gets to be a crazy person on the
court because he's that important.

Speaker 1 (56:57):
Jalen Ramsey, oh my man, you have.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
Run out of the talent that's necessary to keep acting
the way you do. That's the old you, the Jacksonville
you was the best cornerback in the game. You are
three jerseys later and getting yourself kicked out of games
and getting into it because you have Jamar Chase on

(57:22):
the field and that gets you all jacked up is counterproductive.
And you're on a team that's in first place. Luckily,
you were going against a bad team today. But if
you weren't doing what you did today is how you
can lose football games. So Jalen Ramsey to me, has

(57:43):
now sort of crossed the line. His mouth and his
talent are no longer in the same room.

Speaker 3 (57:54):
All right now, I'm not going to rebut that. I'm
just going to do my number three. Do it, yes,
because it's in this situation.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
Okay, let's go.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
So I hear you on, Jalen Ramsey. My third topic
was number one, respect yourself, respect the game. Respect yourself,
respect the game. As a youth coach, I'm always teaching
my kids, my athletes, respect yourself, respect the game, respect

(58:26):
your teammates.

Speaker 1 (58:30):
When you spit.

Speaker 3 (58:34):
In a player's face, that to me is one of
the worst things that you can do, not only to
a player, but to a person. Worse than a slap
of punch, a kick, or anything like that. The level
of disrespect you have to have for yourself and another

(58:55):
person to spit in their face. In my mind, whatever
happens after that, you deserve it. And so I listened
to the sound of Jalen ramsey accusation at this point,
but absolutely not, because I went and looked at the

(59:17):
film and he spit in his face. Okay, a nice
big LOOKI and you can see it and you're only
gonna want to watch it once because it's disgusting. So
when someone does that, you can't even control what happens next.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
Fair. That's fair.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
And so my third one was is look sports football, basketball,
all of it. I love it. You gotta respect the game.
There is no place for that. We saw Jaylen Carter
get kicked out of the first game of the year,

(01:00:00):
year before he ever played a snap because he spit
on Dak Prescott, right, Like, for me, Number one is
bush league. It's awful and you can't cry Wolford, come on, well,
I don't know. And I saw the sound of what

(01:00:23):
Jamar Chase said in the locker room. Now there's footage
of him doing exactly what Jaylen.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Said he did. Yeah, I haven't seen that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
I'll send it to.

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Yeah, yeah, I didn't. I didn't know it had been confirmed.

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
So I believed. I was like, come on, bro, really, yeah,
that's brutal. That's brutal. Well, that is no place in
the game for that. Seriously, it's bad. It's bad. I
don't I don't like it. I'm wit I'm witch on that.
I haven't seen it yet, so enough right now?

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Yeah, five, break fire away, all right. Steve Disaga is
gonna be along in less than ten minutes. We'll get
you updated on the game. That's e from Salama, Mark Wheelerd.
This is Fox Sports Radio. Okay, Fox Sports Radio Studios
and Disager in like two minutes. Hey, you tell me,
what a perfect game to discuss AJ Brown, who went

(01:01:24):
public this week with yeah I'm mad, Yes, I'm mad,
and then we can go. But you're seven and two.
But I want our offense to be better. Okay, I
get that too. What a perfect game to discuss this.
The Eagles are winning, it's six to nothing. They have

(01:01:47):
five completed passes now four of them went to AJ Brown,
but he has a total of twenty three yards from
We can get to this now and after Steve comes
in and fully updates us.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
But like, does he have a point? Yes or no?

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Selfishly yes? Team wise no? Okay, just like if we
were to continue to selfishly have this conversation and run
over my man Steve de Seger's time, don't do that.
I'm all about the team.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
They'll do that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
Hello once again, gentlemen, A lot of NFL to discuss.
Are you aware that the CFL's Great Cup is going
on tonight? No, it is the Saskatchewan Roughriders. By the way, CFL.
For those who are unaware of the Canadian Football League,
there are nine whole teams in the entire league. All
of them are nicknamed Roughriders Saskatchewan.

Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
It just seems like that the West Gym.

Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
Thirteen and six is in the final against the Montreal Alouettes,
who went ten and eight but won a couple of
playoff games. So there you go, four and a half
minutes to go, Saskatchewan leads twenty five seventeen. Sometimes you
get interesting quarterback battles people that we've heard of.

Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
This is not one of those years.

Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
I looked it up as from Portland State, Davis Alexander
is the Montreal quarterback against a near forty year old
QB for Saskatchewan from Edinburgh, Pennsylvania, Trevor Harris. So congratulations
to both. More excitement in the NFL this weekend. We
had five teams getting the game winning score on the
final play. Third week in NFL history that's happened, and

(01:03:33):
it's all happened in the last decade. We had Denver
win its eighth straight game, getting a field goal on
the final play, beating Kansas City twenty two to nineteen,
Kansas City five and five overall, and as you mentioned,
last hour, oh and five in one score games. AP
looked it up in the last fifteen years of the NFL,

(01:03:54):
is at that long a list of teams at this
point of a season that are oh and five or
worse in those games decided by eight points or less.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
No, it's not a long list.

Speaker 4 (01:04:04):
It happened with the Raiders about a decade ago, with
the forty nine ers in twenty seventeen they also started
zero to five in these close games, and the twenty
nineteen Bengals as well. And that's the list in the
last fifteen years. I mentioned the Niners. They wanted Arizona
forty one to twenty two. So San Francisco has now
swept their NFC West opponents on the road for this

(01:04:25):
season schedule. Since the divisions were realigned just over twenty
years ago. San Francisco every time it sweeps the division
opponents on the road at least makes the NFC title game.

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
This happened to them.

Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
Three times all in recent years. Brock Perty was back
at quarterback today. Had three touchdown passes, two to tight
end George Kittle Arizona, three turnovers and yes, Jacoby Brissett
did nothing but throwed the ball forty seven for fifty
seven through the air four hundred and fifty two yards,
two touchdowns, two interceptions. Half of the teams in this

(01:04:59):
cond test. We're playing an old Big twelve game. Baltimore
won at Cleveland twenty three sixteen. Browns quarterback Dylan Gabriel
left with a concussion. Chaudor Sanders entered, went four of
sixteen passing forty seven yards and an I. By the way,
defensive end Miles Garrett had four more sacks in this game.
The Rams had won five in a row. They edge
Seattle twenty one to nineteen. Matthew Stafford two more touchdown passes,

(01:05:23):
one to Devonte Adams, who was targeted eight times and
had the one one yard reception for a score. The
Rams offense eleven drives, twelve first downs and they keep winning.
The Denver win was their eighth in a row. I
mentioned the Rams their fifth in a row. At the
other end of the spectrum, Atlanta has lost five straight.

(01:05:44):
Carolina beat him in overtime thirty to twenty seven, as
Bryce Young threw for four hundred and forty eight yards
and three touchdowns. Washington has lost six.

Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
In a row.

Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
And if you saw the game from Madrid, you know why.
In overtime, Miami beat the Commanders sixteen thirteen. This was
a six to six tie at halftime with two field
goals each. Devon h had one hundred and twenty yards rushing.
He had five catches for forty five yards. Now, as
far as the Sunday night game, a couple of field
goals in the wind at Philadelphia and the Eagles are

(01:06:14):
up six to nothing on the Detroit Lions. Jake Elliot
hitting from twenty seven and thirty four yards out. The
Detroit offense on third down conversions oh for four. There
aren't even two hundred yards combined with these two offenses
in the first half of this game. Yet Jalen Hurts
thirty yards passing, Saquon Barkley ten carries twenty three yards rushing.

Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
And then you had the game at.

Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
Buffalo today Bills forty four to thirty two over Tampa Bay,
back and forth, as the final score might indicate total
of ten touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
In that game.

Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
The Bills at home were down thirty two to thirty
one with outther ten minutes left. Baker Mayfield two touchdowns,
two turnovers, Josh Allen and the win three touchdown runs,
three touchdown passes, two inter seven three hundred and seventeen
yards passing. Allen six carries forty yards. As well, you
mentioned the Chargers lack of offense. They lost at Jacksonville

(01:07:09):
thirty five to six s LA with nine drives, eight
first downs. Jaguars with only one penalty today no punts,
They scored five touchdowns. Charger defense had no sacks against him.
This was not one of the bad weather games, by
the way, about eighty degrees in Jacksonville. Jaguars win without
wide receiver Brian Thomas. He was out again with an
ankle injury. Chargers finished with only one hundred and thirty

(01:07:32):
five total yards. The Chicago Bears are seven and three
after winning a close one at Minnesota nineteen seventeen. Vikings
got two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take the
lead with fifty seconds to go, but on a forty
eight yard field goal final play, the Bears win Cairo
Santos four to five. On field goals. Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati
thirty four to twelve. Joe Flacca won TD pass one

(01:07:56):
pick six in defeat Pittsburgh QB Aaron Rodgers last left
wind they wrist slash hand injury. Green Bay won at
the Giants in the win twenty seven to twenty on
a touchdown pass with about four minutes to go.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Giants two and nine.

Speaker 4 (01:08:10):
Houston kicked a field goal final play to win at
Tennessee sixteen to thirteen. Weekend updates. We have a touchdown
from the Detroit Lions Jared Goff forty yards to Jamison
Williams as predicted on this show at the start of
this game. The extra point missed well why to the right.

Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Little context here though Jamo was flagged for unsportsmanlike conducts.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
That was that was a.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Forty eight yard extra point that Jake Bates just missed,
which actually would love to discuss with you guys. All
Jamo did was he ran up to the goal post
and hugged it, like he jumped into the goal posts
and kind of like slid down it as if it
was a fire pole.

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
Ah prop Yeah, antest the goal posts why because you
can move them. They can shift. That's why they stopped.
Remember dun the ball. If you there, you still get
fined for not Now they're not solid. If you touch them,
they can move. And what you don't want is a

(01:09:11):
game winning field goal off by a hair because it's
moved by a hair.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Well, look if it if it's a defined all my
question is is it a defined thing that the players know?
And if he is okay, then he's then he's in
the wrong. Then he's in the wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Yeah, you can't touch it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
So with the extra point moving back because of the penalty,
it was missed. The opposite thing happened with Cincinnati, by
the way, and that was for a while, a close
game at Pittsburgh. They kicked the extra point, it was
good and there was a defensive penalty and they said,
wait a minute, we.

Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Get closer to the goal line, let's go for two.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
No, they did not know.

Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
Eventually they lost badly thirty four to twelve at Pittsburgh.
And as far as the NBA, Boston beat the Clippers
one twenty one one eighteen and San Antonio beat Sacramento
one twenty three to one ten. Victor wemen Yamad did
not play due to calf tightness, and Stefan Castle of
the Spurs left with a hip injury and rookie Dylan
Harper is out with a strained calf. But de Aaron

(01:10:08):
Fox had twenty eight points and eleven assists updating the
game in Philadelphia, and they've just put up the graphic.
AJ Brown's been targeted eight times tonight in the first
half for his five catches. It's six' Six eagles And
lions late second.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Quarterback he's Been, yeah thank, You, steve great. Stuff he's
been targeted eight. Times Jalen hurts has only thrown the
ball fifteen, times now sixteen, times but, yeah half of
his targets have gone TO Aj brown and he's uh.

Speaker 4 (01:10:39):
And DeVante smith has no, catches.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Right, yeah, Right But AJ's been able to tally a
whopping thirty two yards out of all that. Feed so, COOK,
aj just keep on. Cooking SO i, mean in your,
mind was there more to?

Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
That DOES?

Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
Aj and AGAIN i don't care what his opinion. Is of,
course every player wants the ball and wants the, numbers
and of course you're out there trying to get.

Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
OPEN i get all, that but my.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Intrigue is always based on the public comments that you
make when your team is seven.

Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
Too that's what's, interesting that's the.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
Problem that's what the, selfishness in my, opinion comes into.
It like, you if you're winning in your, upset then
it's about you and not the. Team if you're losing
and you're not getting targets and you feel you can
help the team, win that's a different, argument, altogether completely different.

(01:11:44):
Argument devil's.

Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
Advocate CAN i bring UP.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Jk, dobbins who's now probably out for the, year but
after the ten to seven win over The, raiders he
went crazy and completely ripped his offense because his point,
was we're not gonna get to where we want to
go if if this offense keeps playing like.

Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
This the difference is, yeah okay say, IT i. KNOW i.

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Think difference is you just won The Super. Bowl. Yep
you've won without you being a primary target and the
recipe hasn't. Changed so if the recipe is good and

(01:12:37):
delicious and you win with the, recipe then why and
you're still, winning why would you? Complain? Yep this is completely. Different,
well they're Super bowl Defending Super bowl. Champs barkley had
if anyone on The eagles should be. Upset it should
be Say Quon.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
Barkley, yeah that's.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Fair and also LIKE jk did not come out and be,
like all offense, sucks you need to give me the ball, more,
Right and maybe WILL aj didn't use those exact.

Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Words we pretty much.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
Did, yeah we know that's the basis of all this
because when they were winning The Super, bowl he was
reading books on the.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Sideline, Exactly so don't give me the he's having these
comments after. Wins, yep that's the. Point like they're rushing
over to his locker after wins and going, like, hey what's,
up what do you what do you think about? It

(01:13:33):
how do you? Feel and then he gets home and
he tweets about it and he does all these.

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Things, well, yeah there was some some commentary off of
a video game live.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Stream, yes a.

Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Lot and it's a lot to deal with if you're,
winning if you've built a winning, culture it's a lot
to deal with because everybody should be focused on the one,
thing which is defend your. Title you're in a position
to defend your. Title you're not two and, seven you're

(01:14:10):
seven and, two and the game you didn't. Play they
had their best offensive output a week ago when when
our two weeks ago when he was. Out it's true
they scored more points and gain more yards offensively than

(01:14:33):
anytime this year with you on the. Field.

Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
Sol so.

Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
With that, SAID i, mean what are we talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:14:47):
HERE i, mean we're talking about about A. J, Brown
that's what we're talking. About say, Less, YEAH i think
what we're what we're talking. About but we can't do
that because we are on the. Radio so we got
a lot more to, say INCLUDING i.

Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
Want to gets the rams a little bit coming up,
next and at the top of the, HOUR i got
some Mac.

Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
Jones related questions for.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
You should The niners keep er, Trade should any other
team in the league that's quarterback needy want him next?
Year let's get to all of. That that's he From
Salama Mark. Willard this Is Fox Sports. Radio we sit
in The Fox Sports radio, studios livesh push action unfolding

(01:15:28):
right in front of our. Faces that sounds more salacious
than it. Is but The eagles going in for a
touchdown advantage.

Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
Right before the end of the.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
Half we'll see If Jake elliott can navigate an extra. Point,
again we assume nothing in the kicking game, tonight but,
yes it's good and The eagles are up thirteen to.
Six AND i will like to send out a hearty,
sorry a hearty, apology a hearty just, everything heartfelt words

(01:16:03):
to everybody who Has Saquon barkley on their fantasy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
Team he was down inside the.

Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
One thank you for your your kind.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
Words, yeah are you? Okay, no, okay neither's my. Son
he literally did the lap around.

Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
The living room And i'm gonna. Win i'm gonna. Win
and then the.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
Oh they're gonna mark him down at the. One and
what's really frustrating when you have An eagles running back
on your team is when they go down at the,
one they don't get the ball again on the next.

Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
PLAY M.

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Yeah so on one of my teams, TODAY i Had
Justin herbert And Calvin.

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Ridley oh oh oh.

Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
God, yeah make you feel any better THAT i Started
Ricky piersoll in one of my.

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
Leagues he got to.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Catch, yeah he finished the.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Game he, Did he finished the.

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Game was there was hope there and we're?

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Hoping, yeah, well AND i we should have, known AND
i kind of. DID i started him BECAUSE i kind
of wanted to root for, him but, hey not quite
up to speed. Yet, no.

Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
Coming off of HIS pcl.

Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
Injury you said The niners have THE nfc right where they.

Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
WANTED i, mean do The rams to The? Rams, like
is that the best?

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
Team The rams are because they are they can win
a bunch of. Ways of, course you Got Matthew, stafford
who is you, know arguably you, know the front runner
for THE. Mvp he had a really young defensive front

(01:17:52):
that is just. Relentless you got great, coaching and so
they're formidable big. Time they find ways to. Win they
can blow you, out they can win close. ONES i
think that's the that's the the ingredients of a good.
Team sometimes we're gonna put forty on. You sometimes we're

(01:18:14):
gonna put. Nineteen, yeah but we're gonna come away with
the dub everybody either one just.

Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
ABOUT i, MEAN i thought The seahawks held up incredibly,
well especially when you consider the turnover margin in this.
Game The seahawks And rams point differential this, year you're
right in there almost exactly the.

Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
SAME i. Can you, know it's funny like The.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Niners it's, like, oh they got THE nfc right where
they want, them AND i get. It and they also
might take third place and that might be good. ENOUGH i,
MEAN i very much can see a scenario where all
three of these teams end up in the. Playoffs i'm
just thinking about The. Rams they're eight and, two and
sure this is part of AN nfl. Schedule you always
sort of win some that you feel like you had

(01:18:58):
no business, winning and then you some where you're just.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Like where we blew?

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
That AND i don't know all the intricacies of what
would have happened against The colts if remember a few
weeks ago when you know the ball got released right
there before the goal line and The rams end up
winning that game by. Seven But i'm looking at their
eight and two record And i'm, going, boy you guys
are about be about an inch and a half away

(01:19:24):
from being ten and. Zero.

Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
Yeah remember their two.

Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
Losses one came In philadelphia where The rams were schooling
them all, day all, day and then one thing led
to another with a nice little comeback for The eagles
in the, end but it still led to The rams
lining up for a not very long game winning field

(01:19:50):
goal In philly and it got blocked and returned for
a touchdown and that's how the game.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Ended.

Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
Crazy and their other loss was in overtime against the
Mac jones led forty nine ers and The niners got
out to a fourteen to nothing, lead and then it
looked like The rams game the rest of the, way
and they just fell, short fumbling at the goal, line et.

Speaker 1 (01:20:11):
Cetera that team is almost perfect this.

Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
Year, yeah and they'd be top. Teams to be top.
Teams you, know they gave The colts one of.

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
Their losses exactly, exactly and now this one of their. Losses,
yeah all, right speaking of Mac, JONES i got more
to asking. Next eagles lead The lions thirteen to six
at the. Break second half action is coming up. Next
we will follow. Along we are broadcasting live from The

(01:20:44):
Fox Sports radio. Studios this will not be the first
time you've heard. THIS i will simply puppet something that
is said all the. Time life is a matter of.
Perspective but usually when we hear, that it's sort of
like somebody in encouraging us or. Whatnot you, know what
do you what's the first thought that comes up when

(01:21:04):
you wake up in the. Morning is it thankfulness as a.
Gratitude life is a matter of. Perspective, well that comes
in a lot of different. Forms let's talk about the
forty nine or quarterback. Position for just a, SECOND i
was mindful Of Brock purdy's six and eleven season last, year.

Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
And, yes two of the losses weren't. His he didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
Play But niners go six and eleven and Brock, Purdy i'm,
told not a horrible. Season Now Mac jones is getting
an opportunity to play this. Year, Obviously brock returned, today
But Mac jones got eight games.

Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
To showcase himself to THE nfl this, year And mac is.
Cooking mac is playing great.

Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Football SO i looked up THE qbr For Mac jones
this year and THE qbr For Brock purty last. Year,
Remember brock played horribly last year And mac played great this.
Year So Mac jones ADJUSTED qbr this year is sixty

(01:22:23):
four point eight and Brock purties last year was sixty
four point.

Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Eight.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Huh don't ever let people say money doesn't change, you
because it. Does it changes your. Perspective and before you,
go but, mark that means you could get the same play.

Speaker 1 (01:22:49):
For for for forty eight million dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
Less, well now we're whindling our way, into first of,
all a smaller and second of, all removing all of
the contexts that led to all of these numbers twice
prior to last, year Brock perty has taken a team
deep into the. Playoffs so here's the one thing that

(01:23:15):
is the debate that's.

Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
Coming we're not there.

Speaker 2 (01:23:18):
Yet we have to get through this, season BUT i
already know that in the off season they'll be this.
Thing are The niners gonna trade Mac? Jones he is
not on a one year. Deal it is a two year.
Deal he is under contract for the forty nine ers next.
Year in the, MOMENT i would, say, well then keep.

(01:23:38):
Him look what just. Happened he can keep your season
together when something awful, HAPPENS i would say keep.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Him but a lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
People like, what you're gonna turn that kind of draft capital.
Down there's gonna BE qb needy teams that want Mac
jones are? There you tell me you're you're The vikings
or you know. Whatever we could go. Through, uh The

(01:24:11):
cardinals apparently are going to be on the. Search The Cleveland,
Browns Pittsburgh, steelers Dot New York jets Mac?

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
Jones, no why?

Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
Not BECAUSE i want to get my own quarterback any
of any of those. Places they need the. Future the
problem is in order to become a former starter turned

(01:24:49):
back up and get back to that upper. Echelon something
miraculous has to. Happen like case in, point you take
a team that loses their starting quarterback and you go
fourteen and three with, Them, sam and you're two games

(01:25:10):
away from and then being THE mvp of the. League,
yep that will get you put back as a. Starter
by the, way even.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
That didn't get your fifty million dollar, deal, right that
gets you a thirty million dollar.

Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
Tation Point another, Thing, yep you can go to a
team after being a high draft pick and starting and
moving on and being a backup a couple, places and
then get to a franchise and consistently be the best
thing that they have or they've had since they won

(01:25:48):
The Super, bowl and you put up ungodly numbers year.

Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
In and year.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
Out Baker, Mayfield Baker mayfield.

Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
To RACK. J didn't do?

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
That, no, No, now if Brock purty was out for the,
year and how did Brock purty Become Brock.

Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
Party won a lot of football?

Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
Games why why did he get thrust into the starting.

Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
Lineup because someone else got? Hurt two other people.

Speaker 3 (01:26:17):
Game and all he did was not lose ever right.

Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Forever until his arm fell.

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
Off, yes then they.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
Lost, yeah but you're, right they did not lose with
him on the, field.

Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
And they looked. Better they scored more, points, sure had
more yards. Everything how do you.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
Know how many times before today they've scored forty points this?

Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Year?

Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
None?

Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
None do you know how many times they've scored? Thirty?

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
None one and? One there you, go one, time one.
Time so that's how you do. That and that's the
only way a team will give up draft capital for.
You no one gave up draft capital For Kirk, cousins
Which atlanta needs, now ironically. Enough and so you're in

(01:27:11):
a situation where look what Mac jones did was he
gave himself an opportunity to go continue to. Play, now
there may be teams that want, him but they're not
about to get. Hit it would be no high draft
picks given.

Speaker 1 (01:27:30):
ONE i don't even know that they'd give up a.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Two, no no for a backup. Quarterback yeah. No and
so a really good, one YEAH i get a good.
ONE i get. It but what makes him a really good?
One now if he goes it's this case in, point
if he goes To cleveland, examples and that's what we're. Doing,

(01:27:53):
yes if he goes To, cleveland we no longer talking about.
This this Mac jones we're talking about this doesn't add
his name to the, list, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:28:07):
Add his name to the. List, well, here.

Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
Here are the two things THAT i find really kind
of intriguing, Here and one of them is simply the
idea of would The niners do? That So Rock, purdy
for all of his, merits the arm did fall off,
once and he did miss a couple of games due

(01:28:31):
to injury last, year and he's missed eight games due
to injury this.

Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
Year so why would? You why would you do?

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
That why would you play chicken with the idea of
your quarterback's?

Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
Health if you'd to, me that is quite a.

Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
Weapon, oh if.

Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
You can have someone in your system that you know
will keep your season intact for maybe even as long
as half of a year if YOUR qb gets, hurt
that's an unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
Weapon The niners should be. Done they should be they
should be.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
Done there is seven and.

Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
Four they lost.

Speaker 2 (01:29:10):
Brock party for eight, Games Fred warner's out for the,
Year Nick boast is out for the. Year George kittle
MISSED i think five to six, Games ricky pearsall five
to six, games.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
They should be. Done and they're seven and four.

Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
And about to be ten and, four mark mark my.

Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
Words so why would you, like are you with? Me
why would you? Give why would you trade? Him?

Speaker 3 (01:29:33):
You you wouldn't and they. Won't, yeah you wouldn't and they.
WON'T i agree with.

Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
You.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Now now here's the other thing THAT i think people
need to keep in. Mind when you're looking at the
way Mac jones is, played watch you'll do this. Perfectly
how have people criticized Brock party.

Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
Over the last four? Years what do they say about?

Speaker 3 (01:29:57):
Him it's the?

Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
System, ah it's the. System he's a. SYSTEM qb the.

Speaker 8 (01:30:06):
System so why when you want someone else come in
and play, well would you suddenly, Decide, oh that dude is,
cooking he's.

Speaker 1 (01:30:20):
Better we need to give up.

Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
A first round draft pick to get that guy to
come play in a different system than the one we're
watching him succeed, in though at a lower level than
the way Brock party has succeeded with. It that's what
and that like, AGAIN i understand the comeback to. This

(01:30:46):
the comeback is always about. Money and is there a
fair point?

Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
There there?

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Is AND i also think there's SOME tbd with regard to,
This like Brock perty's contented actually hasn't even started.

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
Yet, no so like whether.

Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Or not that was a good, deal that's gonna play
out over. Time this was his third game today since
that deal got, signed and it doesn't the money doesn't
actually kick in until next. Year so, fine you want
to have a conversation about. That did they overpay? HIM
i think that's like a you, know like there's a
there's a there's a talk, there but that's gonna play
out over.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Time if you're a.

Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
Fan i'm always confused by the people who, go give
Me mac for seven million and Not brock for fifty,
three even though they Know brock is, better and somehow they're,
like but At, mac you could add in like three

(01:31:46):
or four more really good players with all that. Money,
yeah that's the. Quarterback so, No i'm out on your
three or four new. PLAYERS i want the best possible
QUARTER i can.

Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
Get end of. Discussion that's HOW i would run a.

Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
Team, yeah because you what you'll end up doing is
being in the same situation you. Are, now say you
Chose Mac jones and he played as. Well Brock purdy's
first two. Years if he did the exact same, thing
you would be in the exact same situation you're in.

(01:32:26):
Now you'd have to pay him.

Speaker 1 (01:32:31):
Fair, point, Yep, john not, fifty but.

Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
Thirty you'd have to pay, him. Yep if he went
to The Super bowl and went to THE Nfc Championship
game and back to back, years you'd have to pay.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
Them, sure by the what are we? Doing they also
wouldn't do.

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
That like the forty nine ers have not had a
two game win streak Since week, Three.

Speaker 1 (01:32:54):
So that's the other.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Thing, yeah Like Mac, jones it's been lost than win
and lost and win and lost and win the whole.

Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
Season tell him to pipe down up.

Speaker 2 (01:33:03):
There, well but the larger point for, me WHAT i
really wanted to hear you say is what do you
think the league? Thinks what do they want to give
up for? Him because it is it is the brewing
below the surface thing, Here AND i hear from a
lot of people who think that there is going to

(01:33:25):
be like remember what Like American idol tryouts used to look, Like,
yeah that line that would wrap like eight blocks THROUGH
la that's the line to Acquire Mac. Jones this, offseason
he's made himself a ton of. Money then The niners
would be crazy not to get that second round.

Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Draft pick in. Return i'm, like they're keeping.

Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
HIM i don't think that that line, exists AND i
don't think The niners should send him.

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
Anywhere there is no. LINE i think that they should
do this again next.

Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
Year there is no.

Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Line thank.

Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
You as good As Gino smith, played as good As
Sam donald, play as good As baker has been no.
Line there's no, line.

Speaker 1 (01:34:08):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
There's no.

Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
Line so settle. Down everyone just. Relaxed, okay thank.

Speaker 1 (01:34:19):
YOU i appreciate.

Speaker 7 (01:34:20):
That it's, uh it's been, funny, man it's been.

Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
Funny here was the last THING i said about it this.
WEEK i wonder if you'll catch. This Even Richard sherman
said this, week you've got to ride the hot. Hand
you can't go back to brock. Party you got to
ride the hot. Hand AND i was, like, so first of,
all once, again they have not won two games in

(01:34:46):
a row Since week.

Speaker 1 (01:34:47):
Three that's one.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Thing and the second thing, is IF i put those
numbers up, THERE i think Mac.

Speaker 1 (01:34:55):
Jones let me pull this up real.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Quick let's see THE nfl stats, leaders all, right quarterback
Rating Mac jones this year. Thirteenth, okay that's very, good very.
Good thirteenth in uh in quarterback rating this, year just
ahead Of Aaron rodgers And Jacoby. Brissett if if Brock

(01:35:20):
purdy had gone five and three and was thirteenth in
the league in quarterback, rating would anybody refer.

Speaker 1 (01:35:28):
To him as the hot. Hand he's, hot he's, one
he's won one in a.

Speaker 3 (01:35:37):
Row, no what you like TO I i told you
exactly how you have to get into that other. Conversation
you have to be. Unworldly you got to take a
team that no one expected anything from because your high
round draft pick gets hurt and and make them. Unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
Yep and you kind of got to do it multiple. Times,
yeah years to, it, right even When baker did it
And sam did, It it's, like, okay you get thirty million, dollars, right,
yeah you got to do it in.

Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
Three more years if you want fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
Right, yeah, yeah all. Right things are getting spicy In.
Philadelphia much more to discuss. There steve will have a
full update in a little bit over ten. Minutes we're
doing it on week eleven of The National Football. League

Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
Air would you like to weigh?

Speaker 3 (01:37:19):
In, well that was a fourth and goal and that
didn't go.

Speaker 1 (01:37:26):
WELL i mean fourth and, goal one score, game one.

Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
Score, game low percentage, throw look like a wide, open tight.
Enit he threw it right over his. Head it's freezing
cold out. There like it was not fourth and goal
from the. One it was like fourth and goal from the.
Four there's still six minutes to go in the third.

Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
Quarter, yeah it's pretty. Crazy we'll see how this thing turned.
Out we sure will see what looks. LIKE i have
a feeling of what it will look.

Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Like do you like once a week do you wake
up in the middle of the night in a cold
sweat having had dreams About Dan campbell going forward on fourth?

Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
Down, NO i would surmise his, teammate his team does
are and the parents are the family of said, team
because they've seen a lot of stuff just left out
there on the.

Speaker 1 (01:38:30):
Line so are they lying when they say that they love?

Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
It, no they don't love.

Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
It they don't love.

Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
It you're coming Ros Saint brown's family talk about it
when it was happening live and the, RECEIVER i mean
The fever show the. Receiver do we, watched we, Heard
we know exactly what they're.

Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
Saying.

Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
Yep, no, man you that's.

Speaker 1 (01:38:51):
Crazy you know how every player is always, like, well
that's what we love.

Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
The coach who we.

Speaker 1 (01:38:56):
Are that's he's showing faith in, us and we appreciate.

Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
That we have a. Thing it used to we used
to call a thing called dumb. Tough you know what
dumb tough. IS i don't you go into a bar
and you pick on the biggest guy in, there right like?
You that's dumb, tough right are? You you, know just

(01:39:23):
don't be tough for the sake of being. Tough now
you could be tough for a, reason but not for
the sake of proving a point to yourself and whoever's.
Watching yeah we, Are we're gonna go for. It that's
all we got. Here and that they had an opportunity

(01:39:44):
to go to The Super. Bowl, yep they lost by.
Three they left nine points on the. Field. Yep that's.
It that's all you, need that's ALL i need To
we'll see how this game shakes. Out in a one score,
game they have the, ball fourth and goal on the
four yard. Line they opt not to take the three
points they ought not to take.

Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
It, yeah you're not.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Wrong and, look you can't, coach especially not. Now fan
bases will not allow you to just kick the three every.
Time but what's, happened at least in my, estimation what's
happened is we've now arrived at a spot.

Speaker 1 (01:40:31):
Where.

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Even when you clearly should take the, three if you
can smell or see the, seven you skip it, automatically
regardless of the. Situation like situationally we talked about it.
EARLIER i don't know how many of you woke up
early and watched the game In, Madrid. Spain it is

(01:40:56):
almost an auto response now when it's third and goal
at the, one and you don't get, It you're going
forward again on the next. Play i'm sitting here looking
at a game that is at a minute and a
half left to, go and the team the two teams are,
tied and the team that would be trailing if you

(01:41:19):
kick the field goal has no, timeouts and The dolphins
went for, it And i'm sitting there GOING.

Speaker 1 (01:41:26):
I don't LIKE i get. It it's so. Boring it's
so disappointing to be down that close and have to
take the.

Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
Three but you're going to have to hire me a
tutor to explain to me if you have a piece
of paper that, says, analytically in that, moment the right
thing to do was to go for. IT i need a.
Tutor if that's. True there's no way that you are
more likely to win that game by going for it then. Kicking,

(01:42:01):
No no, Chance no, chance because your chances of taking
the lead if you kick the field goal are almost
one hundred percent if you go for.

Speaker 1 (01:42:11):
It, AH i don't know what the chances. Are it
feels like maybe.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Seventy and if you have the lead in that, situation
your chances of winning the ballgame are north of ninety,
percent So i'm going to take the one hundred percent followed.

Speaker 1 (01:42:25):
By north of ninety.

Speaker 2 (01:42:26):
Percent but they didn't get the, lead and they ended
up winning the, game which almost annoyed me in and of.
Itself but, anyway Whenever i'm feeling, annoyed we just call
On steve De seger and then everything gets.

Speaker 1 (01:42:43):
Better one being associated with.

Speaker 4 (01:42:45):
It can we just say also THAT nfl football is
not college, football and there is usually a razor thin
margin between two opponents in any GIVEN nfl.

Speaker 1 (01:42:56):
Game The Chicago.

Speaker 4 (01:42:58):
Bears kept piling up field goals and they won on
a field goal final. Play seattle had four field goals
today and they were in until the final.

Speaker 1 (01:43:05):
Play chargers had a.

Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Game At miami last.

Speaker 4 (01:43:08):
Month they were five for five on field. Goals they
won by two. Points The Detroit lions are doing what they.
Do this is what they've stated they, are but these
are the. Facts their first two drives of the second
quarter At philadelphia, tonight they turned the ball over on
downs back to back. Drives those were near. Midfield now
their first two drives of the third, quarter they've turned

(01:43:28):
the ball over on downs back to back, drives including
the incompletion on fourth and goal from The philly, Three
so The eagles lead is thirteen to six Over. Detroit
keep in mind The lions did miss an extra point,
kick and by the, way we did have a final
from that Great cup we talked about In. Canada TONIGHT
cfl champs are the Rough Riders saskatchewan twenty five to

(01:43:51):
seventeen Over. Montreal WHAT i did not realize is there
are rules changes coming to that league for. Starters next,
year ALL cfl stadiums will be required to have player
bench areas on opposite sides of the field from each,
other thank, god which immediately makes wait a, minute this wasn't.

Speaker 1 (01:44:10):
No i'm sorry what you? Say have they all be.

Speaker 3 (01:44:16):
Just right next to each, other intermingling right down the
same thing out so.

Speaker 4 (01:44:21):
Like football would, to, hey let's have a game At Wriggley,
field Or yankee, said we don't have the. Room who
cares put.

Speaker 1 (01:44:27):
Them both on the same side of The.

Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
Oh my, god it's like it's like parents weekend when
they stick to parents in the middle of the student.

Speaker 1 (01:44:33):
Section it's, like we shouldn't be here.

Speaker 4 (01:44:34):
Together so they coach is eighty yards away from the,
play trying to call a time, out starting next year
in THE, cfl single points will not be awarded for
missed field, goals but the big rules in two, years
it's not going to be a one hundred and ten yard.
Field it's going to be one hundred like THE, nfl et.
Cetera it's still a little bit larger end. Zone in

(01:44:56):
a couple of years in THE cfl they'll cut it
from twenty yards to a fifteen yard end, zone but
they still have the goalposts up at the goal line
like about fifty years ago in The Larry zonka. Days,
here those are going to be pushed back to the
back of the end zone at a couple of.

Speaker 1 (01:45:11):
Years who.

Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
Knew as for tonight's game At, PHILADELPHIA i mentioned thirteen
to six is the. Score UPDATING Aj, brown which we
talked about last. Hour the man was targeted eight times
in the first, half WHICH ap reports is tied for
his third most in any first half of his pro.
Career he had a game With Kenny pickett at quarterback

(01:45:32):
late last season where he was targeted ten times in
a first. Half he's been targeted ten times right. Now
six catches forty three. Yards John dotson two catches for
forty three, yards the leading rusher for The, Lions Jamier
gibbs eleven carries twenty eight, yards and there was the missed.
Pat it came, after, yes Said Jamison williams forty yard

(01:45:57):
touchdown catch From Jared. Goff the celebration was. Flowed it
was already a windy night In. Philly the long extra
point attempt was. Missed that's why It's philly thirteen to
six Over. Detroit this means we have had just today
eight missed extra point, kicks the most in three years
in AN nfl. Weekend it did happen with Green bay

(01:46:20):
and the wind at The.

Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
Giants.

Speaker 4 (01:46:21):
Now The packers won the game twenty seven to twenty
on a touchdown pass with about four minutes to. Go
with their kicker for today With brandon. McManus Lucas haversick
missed a couple of. Pats denver one on a kick
field goal final play Beat Kansas city twenty two to.
Nineteen broncos have won eight Straight rams won their fifth
in a row twenty one nineteen Over, seattle which got

(01:46:41):
four interceptions From Sam. Darnold baltimore went At cleveland twenty three.
Sixteen San francisco a winner At arizona forty one to
twenty two turns. Out The niners average starting field position
today was the forty seven yard, line tied for their
second best average starting field position since it least two.

Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
Thousand they kept.

Speaker 4 (01:47:01):
Piling up the points and, yes The cardinals had seventeen
penalties In San francisco had. Won christian McCaffrey three total
Touchdowns buffalo forty four to thirty two Over Tampa. Bay
Josh allen three touchdown, runs three touchdown passes field goals
on the last play Got chicago And Houston road wins

(01:47:21):
victories at home For jacksonville And. Pittsburgh carolina won in
overtime At. Atlanta falcons have lost five. Straight miami In
madrid won in overtime Against, washington which has lost six.
Straight monday night game Is dallas At Las. Vegas as
for The Dallas mavericks three and ten record THIS nba,
season And Anthony davis will miss least another week to

(01:47:43):
ten days.

Speaker 3 (01:47:44):
With his strain.

Speaker 4 (01:47:44):
Calf he has now missed nine straight. Games Dallas mavericks
have just won in overtime Against. Portland there are only
two games still going in THE Nba, tonight about twenty seconds.

Speaker 1 (01:47:56):
Left At.

Speaker 4 (01:47:56):
Utah Lowry markinen has forty three. Points The jazz are
top With chicago won twenty seven All atlanta's up by
one At phoenix with about ten seconds left one twenty,
one one twenty for The. Suns Dylan brooks thirty four
points At. Houston Kevin durant scored thirty five in an
overtime win Against. Orlando victories For boston And San antonio For,

(01:48:17):
brooklyn And Golden, state which won At New orleans one
twenty four to one oh. Six Steph curry was two
of eleven shooting from the. Floor Moses moody with thirty two.
Points Zion williamson of The pelicans still out with the bad.
Hamstring he's missed seven straight. Games New orleans fired Coach
Willie green On saturday after the two and ten.

Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
Start back to, you.

Speaker 1 (01:48:36):
Thank you so, Much. Steve great. Stuff, also yep, uh.

Speaker 3 (01:48:42):
The broncos let's had five field. Goals they won by,
three five for. Five just to throw that out, there
they won by three.

Speaker 1 (01:48:50):
Points, yes, yes yes they.

Speaker 3 (01:48:53):
DID i just want to put that out. There how
valuable and just think about that is the five that
they could say they went. FOR i don't know two
out of the five and missed the fourth. Down they
now lose by. Three that's how important they. Are and

(01:49:16):
you don't know that in the first. Half you don't,
Know like you just don't. Know so take your points
and let your defense do what it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Does three points is, wimpy.

Speaker 3 (01:49:25):
Right asks The. Broncos if it's, wimpy.

Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
That's right away with the division of, THAT i, KNOW.

Speaker 2 (01:49:33):
I, KNOW i, know and they like they scored twenty
two points this, week they scored ten last.

Speaker 4 (01:49:38):
WEEK i mean they're undefeated at.

Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
Home, yeah, yeah, NO i, Mean I'm i'm being completely,
sarcastic but that's the way That AND i know you're
not supposed to make decisions based on, fans but that's
just it's become what we, do and so like people
are allergic to. It three feels like a, Failure that's

(01:50:05):
WHAT i think for, fans and it has worked its
way into coaching. Staffs that's what we now associate with three.

Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
Points CAN i bring up a name THAT i know
your co host across the way for me has brought
up before on this. Show there was AN nfl coach
by the name Of brandon stat who went for it
a fair, amount and he kept going for two and you,
know took his team out of a win Over Kansas
city at least once or.

Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
Twice, yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:50:38):
Yep and he had his players going.

Speaker 4 (01:50:40):
Crazy AND i know why he got in love with,
it BECAUSE i think the stat was eight of the
first nine times he went for it like.

Speaker 1 (01:50:48):
That you, know he was.

Speaker 4 (01:50:49):
Successful it just wasn't like that the rest of.

Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
Them what a wonderful platform on which to run as
a head, coach like that's? That, like remember we all
Remember Dan campbell's opening press. CONFERENCE i don't remember anybody
else's opening press.

Speaker 1 (01:51:06):
CONFERENCE i.

Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
Don't the only THING i remember About Liam kohane is
that he was super weird when he said duval.

Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
Yes LIKE i don't remember what you, know what Did
Ben johnson do when it took Over? CHICAGO i have no.

Speaker 4 (01:51:18):
IDEA i do Remember detroit When Matt millan was running,
things and he went on and on about How Marty
morningwig is going to be the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:51:25):
Here, yep, okay and then they drafted a wide receiver
forty eight times in a row like. This this is
What i'm, saying, Though like anybody who runs for, president
you say a bunch of stuff when you're, running but
then you don't actually do. It nobody actually does their. Promises,
well SO i would suggest the same thing for head.

(01:51:48):
Coaches tell everybody that you're gonna go forward on fourth,
down they'll love.

Speaker 1 (01:51:54):
You don't do?

Speaker 4 (01:51:55):
It whoa day, One we're gonna go for it on day,
one we.

Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
Will Be we do have a guy who may or
may not be, president who says some pretty crazy things
and he's doing all of.

Speaker 1 (01:52:10):
Them well, yeah not all of, them, well just the
unfortunate ones.

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
Anyway, YEAH i mean that seems to resonate with.

Speaker 1 (01:52:20):
PEOPLE i didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:52:22):
There's a fourth down That detroit's going for as we, speak.

Speaker 1 (01:52:25):
And oh and didn't get and they didn't get it.
Incomplete they didn't get, it and they're just. Vestments it's
got to be like.

Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
FIVE i, mean every Time i'm looking, Up i'm, like, oh,
okay it's zero for. Five so much for the field.
Position remember that used to be a. Thing it used
to be you're going to play the field position.

Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Game which is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:43):
Wild that you don't play for field position anymore because
people can kick field goals from one hundred miles away from. This,
yeah like You're it's like you're in if you do
that and you give the other team the ball at the,
fifty they need one first down and they're going to
kick the field goal, themselves.

Speaker 1 (01:53:02):
Unless they want to go for it on fourth. Down
unless they're one of those.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
Teams yeah, crazy all, Right, steve great, Stuff thank you so.

might be short, term AND i don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:54:46):
That they have an exact idea.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
Yet MORE x rays and tests to come tomorrow For Aaron.

Speaker 1 (01:54:54):
Rodgers how does that affect that of that division with
THE i mean it's really wide making the, Move it's
really wide.

Speaker 3 (01:55:04):
Open, yeah and you know it'll be one of the
things that it just benefits The, raider The, ravens excuse.
Me it's things are shifting in their favor within a.
Division and so as crazy as it, is a one

(01:55:25):
in Five baltimore team could end up winning the. Division oh,
yeah getting a home playoff game and then making The Super.

Speaker 2 (01:55:33):
BOWL i WOULD i would like to congratulate you AND
i for both saying when they were one and.

Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
Five stop telling me that they're. Done they're not.

Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
Done, yeah five and five now just five.

Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
And, five And i'm gonna go out on a limb
and say that they are in first place in three
weeks or.

Speaker 3 (01:55:50):
LESS i would agree with.

Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
That these two teams play each other in three. Weeks but,
yeah The ravens host The jets next. Week pittsburgh will
be At, chicago followed by hosting The.

Speaker 1 (01:56:01):
Bills, yeah the game fire, away what you're gonna, SAY.

Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
I was gonna. SAY i was looking at, this you,
Know detroit is oh for five and fourth? Down, no
oh for? Five oh for? Five fourth?

Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
Down, yep and down by seven? Points and how? Many
how many of those fourth downs were in field goal?
Range this is? Crazy how many were in field goal?

Speaker 3 (01:56:29):
Range Any it had to be in at least. THREE
i was.

Speaker 2 (01:56:33):
TWO i mean one of them. Was one of them
was fourth and. Goal so, yeah that was. It that
was a chimp at the bare minimum two. Mm it's,
yeah you would you would be, up might.

Speaker 1 (01:56:49):
BE i, mean kicking is no picnic, today but you
might get.

Speaker 3 (01:56:54):
It but if you're that, LIKE i, mean they were
on the four yard line on one of those mm, hm,
man this is. WILD i, MEAN i hey, man if
it's just a we're taking all four downs every, time

(01:57:15):
that's what it. Is.

Speaker 2 (01:57:16):
Well but, like so let's go back to remember we're
doing The Mac jones and party thing and how life
is all a matter of. Perspective so Because Dan campbell
walked into a room and changed the culture of an
organization that's never really had much, SUCCESS i just don't

(01:57:37):
think that there are a whole lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:57:39):
Questions you, know.

Speaker 2 (01:57:41):
Things get the fans don't make, decisions but they do create,
pressure and then that can build and then questions start
getting asked and.

Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
All of these.

Speaker 2 (01:57:50):
THINGS i don't think Any lions fans have any questions
For Dan.

Speaker 1 (01:57:55):
Campbell they just think this is so much.

Speaker 3 (01:57:58):
Fun, yeah because they know what the alternative has, been.

Speaker 2 (01:58:02):
Right so like, it if there's not going to be
any pressure created from, this then, yeah this is just
how it's gonna. Be but, like do you notice you're
one of the only voices THAT i ever hear that's
like this is.

Speaker 1 (01:58:19):
Absurd everyone l, oh that's Just dan.

Speaker 2 (01:58:23):
Nice just like When Charles barkley says something, crazy it's,
like That's, charles.

Speaker 1 (01:58:28):
That's what he. Does that's kind of how people Treat
Dane campbell.

Speaker 3 (01:58:34):
Success, man, success having success in a place where it
wasn't deemed, possible right to make people overlook a whole
bunch of.

Speaker 2 (01:58:44):
Stuff, yeah so they got a long road to like
change that perspective until that group will not be satisfied
with just being kind of you, know competitive and in
it and.

Speaker 1 (01:58:56):
Fun like that's good enough for to try.

Speaker 3 (01:59:00):
It right, now it's fourth down For. Philly let's see
what they decide to.

Speaker 2 (01:59:03):
Do, no it appears that it appears That Jalen hurts
is leaving the. Premises that's what they're gonna. TRY a field,
goal a long. One, oh this ought to be an. Adventure,
Yeah Jake elliott and if he makes, it guess, what
they're going to be up by two?

Speaker 1 (01:59:24):
Scores how about? That just like?

Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
That, yep Because detroit opted To detroit opted to go
for it last time they were inside the five.

Speaker 3 (01:59:37):
Yard line and it's.

Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
Good so forty nine yard is good and The eagles
are now up by.

Speaker 1 (01:59:43):
Ten but But detroit's having. Fun he having a good.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
Time they got a coach who believes in their, players
so it's all.

Speaker 3 (01:59:58):
Good see next, week.

Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
Brother, yeah, see next week's not our problem. Anymore until next,
Week plank and, span you can figure it. Out rest
of the, way night.

Speaker 3 (02:00:06):
Y'all

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
