Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I am a bit superstitious. I do believe in signs.
But all I'm gonna say is this. This is the
second time that Carry Rhodes is sat next to me
on a red zone Sunday in twenty twenty three. The
first time was when his former team, the Jets, came
back and beat the Philadelphia Eagles, giving them their only loss. Now,
the two and ten Cardinals are kicking the crap out

(00:26):
of the Pittsburgh Steelers with about eight minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. I don't believe in everything. I
believe in a lot of stuff. I think there's something
to it. Carrie Dan, you know what.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
It's, uh it is, it's a thing carries in the building.
It's teams, yes whatever.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Last night, like should we have just gotten together to
watch Louisville and then they would have ended up maybe
knocking off Florida State, we wouldn't have the drama that
we add.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Now you're uh, now you're pushing it and uh you
had the initial you know, hello moment for me with
my teams winning. But yeah, Louisville, man, it's a tough.
It was tough. It was a tough game, and Plumber
is one of those guys where it's just hit or miss,
and it was a miss last night.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Well last night and today provided a lot of conversation
in college football. We usually don't do that on a
red Zone radio show, but because the playoff is set,
we will get to that at some point. But also
what's been talked about a lot is really been talked
about all week. Niners Eagles underway in Philadelphia, foggy, wet

(01:25):
evening in the city of brotherly love. Eagles out to
that early six to nothing lead, as you heard Monci says,
they head to the second quarter. There's a lot of
hype about this game. And we the NFL puts these
matchups in these windows because they know that that there's
gonna be a lot at stake. There's a lot on
the line. You're not gonna You're not gonna have Niners
Eagles in week two, right Like this is like this

(01:47):
is an opportunity where this game gets the build up
and now you've got this rematch of the NFC championship game.
But I feel that people have been vollying back and
forth what they think are the narratives this week, whether
it's do the Niners.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Have something to prove?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Do the Eagles need to validate their winning the NFC
Championship game? Does Jalen Hurts now need to put on
MVP performance after what DAK is doing. When you look
at Niners Eagles, how do you view this matchup today?
Is it as big of a deal that we're making
it out to be. Is there a prove it moment
for brock Perty or Jalen Hurts? What do you see

(02:23):
going down in Philadelphia today?

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I think all those narratives are valid, right. I think
for me watching this game, I want to see San
Francisco get a signature win. I mean, I know they
beat Dallas early and beat them pretty badly at the time,
but it's a different Dallas team now. I think the
Dallas team now is a lot better and a lot
more of a complete team, and Dak is playing MVP football.

(02:48):
But yeah, I mean San Francisco had a lot to
say after they lost that NFC Championship game last year,
and so all the words, all the vitriol going back
and forth between teams. It feels like for me that
Philly's already moved on from that and they're just trying
to win football games, and they've done a really good
job of that. But San Francisco, you know, when you
talk as much as they have, I think they need

(03:10):
to come out and set their dominance in this game
and get a big, key signature to win against Philly.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And Nick Sirianni tried to use some of those Niners'
words against them, the Eagles head coach, using that as
bulletin board material, talking about the comments that were made
after the NFC Championship game and what would have happened.
I'll just say this, I came from this perspective where
right now the Eagles have out gained the Niners one

(03:35):
hundred and twenty four to negative six, and Donors Quorter, Yeah,
it is all Philadelphia right now, And I am a
bit surprised because I thought that San Francisco was the
to use the air quotes, the team that needed to
prove something in this matchup. You mentioned the signature win,
talk about their three game slide. The Eagles have gone
through a gauntlet of opponents that I don't think can

(03:57):
be underestimated Cowboys, Chiefs, Bill, Niners, and then they got
the Cowboys again next weekend. So you're trying to navigate this,
and I feel like if you step back and if
you were Philadelphia and if you made it through that
gauntlet at four and one, or heck even at three
and two, you'd be like, Okay, good, now we've got
that out of the way. We could kind of, you know,

(04:17):
turn our gears, clean everything up for the playoff run.
When I look at San Francisco two games back in
the standings, I still I've said this a million times,
carry I don't think it was a guarantee that the
Niners win the NFC Championship game. If brock Perty played
the full game last year, I think we people automatically
give them that win. I don't think that that's the case.

(04:38):
I felt that the Niners had everything to prove and
if you could go to Philadelphia and win that game
on their turf, that if you have to go back
there again in the NFC Championship game, you have that edge.
You know that you can already do it. I've wanted
the Niners to prove something to me today. So far,
they have not done it. By that yardage total that
I just told you, Yeah, so far, they're in the whole.

(05:00):
But this is a long game.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I mean as badly as they as badly have they
as they have played. Excuse me, they're down six nothing,
so showing the game long game ago, and I think
you know they're gonna obviously get something going here. They've
had two three and outs and that won't continue. They'll
get better.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
We are broadcasting a lot from the tirerac dot com studios.
Tirec dot com will help you get there. An unmetch selection,
fast free shipping, free road has a protection at over
ten thousand recommended installers. Tirac dot com the way tire
buying should be. I'd love to compare stats of both
Rock Purty and Jalen Hurts right now. Don't do it,
but that's difficult to do because brock Purty has yet
to complete a pass, so maybe maybe a lot has

(05:41):
you know, hasn't changed from the second half of the
NFC Championship game when brock Purty had to go back
into the game because Josh Johnson was knocked out and
really couldn't throw it.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
I think it's safe to say he will have a
completion here soon. So so yeah, let's get me a
little take.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
So I think we're good in saying that, and heck,
the running game right now, as you mentioned, just a
couple of three and out Steeve O Samuel's just got
the one carry for negative four yards on the stat sheet.
But yeah, I'll tell you, I'll tell you another you
you made a point. And in that for as dominating
as Philadelphia is, it is only six nothing.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
It's only six nothing. And the crazy thing about obviously,
you know this game, one play changes the game, right,
So one big play. They're up seven to six in
this game. So it's a long way to go in
San Francisco. We'll figure it out. They're they're too good
of a team, and I ultimately see them coming back
to win this game. You've talked about it. Philly's played

(06:34):
in a lot of close games here in recent weeks,
and you know, it seems like they've had a lot
of good fortune. Yeah, on the way, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I also think too, how much does a does a
home team get off that first quarter? Like I figure,
like if you're the road team and I have a
bet in the arena like you have, but you just
have to kind of just hold for it. Now, No,
the Niners haven't done anything, but at least the defense
has kept the Eagles out of the end zone. Yeah,
just kind of survive this first wave. Is that a
real thing in the NFL where fans are jacked up

(07:05):
in Philadelphia? Yeah, but by the second quarter it's kind
of maybe all worn off, you know, from from everything
that's built up.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Is that a real thing? Yeah? I think it can
go either way. I think Danny is a real thing.
But another real thing can be that you're too juiced
up and you make mistakes and you make you and
you don't play well as well. So you just got
to give them credit for the early start here. But
and you made another point. I think another point that
kind of is being lost in it, lost in the
fray here is it's a West Coast West Coast team

(07:33):
going to an East Coast team as well, and so
that time difference in that time that's even though it's
a later game, it's still a little it's a little
different to make that travel across across the East Coast.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
He's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer hit Carry up on
x formally known as Twitter at Carrie twenty five Roads.
You can find me at dan Byer on Fox. Now
this late window of games. Was scheduled to have three games,
but we actually have four going on right now because
the Cardinals and Steelers game you're just tuning in. He
said to deal with not one, but two weather delays today.

(08:03):
So the weather at Pittsburgh has forced the stoppage of
that game multiple times. So that game is still in
the fourth quarter. Cardinal's up twenty four to ten. As
we mentioned off the top, they were rolling, but Deontay
Johnson just got into the end zone touchdown reception for
the Steelers, So now it's a fourteen point game, but
maybe too little too late.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
And brought just got his first completion, so we're good,
all right. I think I think he's got a little rhythm,
Scot Scott, so we're good. I think we got it.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
He's off the schneid and in the score book. The
other two games that are going on right now Buccaneers
and Panthers, and there's a review going on in the
Buccaneers Carolina game. With about seven or nine left to
go until halftime, Tampa's up seven to three. Panthers have
the football near midfield, but Bryce Young attempted a pass
and now they're trying to determine if it was a

(08:49):
backwards pass where the Panthers would end up losing significant yardage.
So there's a review in that one. And then how
about this story Joe Flacco, Yeah, making the start for
the Cleveland Browns in place of the injured Dorian Thompson.
Robinson six of ten a touchdown passed to Jerome Ford.
But the Brons right now trail the Rams ten to

(09:10):
seven at the end of the first quarter.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
That's gonna be a sneaky, sneaky, decent pickup. Cleveland does
need somebody that can make a few plays, has been
there before, gonna be pacing to have some pois. Defense
is so good, running game, it's good. And if he
can do that, they're gonna be sneaky'll they'll be a
team that can that can compete and win, win a
playoff game.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Seven and four on the season, right in the thick
of it. But honestly, there are a bunch of teams
in the thicke of it. Today in the in the AFC,
we'll dive all into that. Colts get a huge overtime
win against the Titans. They're sitting there at seven and five.
Texans survive against Denver there at seven to seven and five,
but drop the Broncos down to six and six, So
a lot to get to. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.

(09:52):
What we're gonna do is we're gonna take a time
out hope to check in with Daryl mouse Johnson, who
is on the call of that Lions win over the
Saints today. Plus we will talk some college football again.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Fox Sports Red Zone to Radio. He's Kerry Rhodes the NFL.
That time, Dan Bayer. It's week thirteen in the NFL
and the forty nine ers have appeared to get in
the end zone. As we are live from thee Tirek
dot Com studios, they are reviewing the touchdown pass that
went from Brock Purdy to Brandon Ayuk. If it's good,
extra point would break a six to six tie as

(11:40):
they have seven to ten left in the first half.
Rams up on the Browns early in the second ten
to seven. Buccaneers have a seven to three lead on
the Panthers near the two minute warning, while the Cardinals
are taking a knee on their way to a victory
in Pittsburgh twenty four to ten over the Steelers. The
Lions jumped out to a big lead against the Saints
today and barely held on. Let's focus on that REDI.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Batti know.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
It's time for the NFL FOS focus.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Darryl Moose Johnston it was on the call of the
Lions victory in New Orleans today over the Saints thirty
three to twenty eight. Joins us from the big Easy Moose.
Welcome in again and let's get right to it. I
think it's kind of a good news bad news situation
for the Lions. I'm going to be the positive guy
and talk about their start. Seemed to be a really,
really physical sort of message the Lions wanted to send,

(12:30):
and they did it early on today. What was there
thinking going into this matchup against the Saints, who kind
of a hat little trouble slowing down the run lately.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah. I think the big thing was, you know, Dan
Campbell went back and looked at everything after that Green
Bay game, and really what he saw was just the turnovers,
the turnovers with a big problem that were kind of
trickling into some of the other areas that may have
been a little bit of an issue. But I thought
one of the more interesting things he said was, you know,
had the great victory against the Turgers on the road,

(13:01):
you know, forty one thirty eight to shootout, and then
we find a way to beat Chicago, scoring a couple
of touchdowns late in that game. And then when we
lose to the Packers, you know, we haven't played well
in three weeks. So it was It's funny how the
perspective changes. I think after twenty one nothing, everybody was like, ah,
you know, Coach Campbell was right, we're falling. And then

(13:21):
as a game we we're on and New Orleans came
back and got into that. It was kind of like, oh, boy,
are do we have more issues than we thought beyond
the turnovers? So I think there's going to be a
lot to learn, but it's always very what you can
learn them off of a good win.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Hey, Moosa, this carry rose Man. I have such a
hate and hate and love relationship with you because you
were so good and I loved you seeing you play
against my you know, back in the day, against my
forty nine ers, and so that's where the hate comes
in because you used to have a lot of success
against my guys. So I just want to throw that
out there real quick before the actual question and conversation.
But yeah, watching that game, I watched the end of

(13:56):
the Lions and the Saints, and I know I saw
the early score twenty one, not thought it would be over.
Saints show some gumps in by fighting and getting back
in the game, but ultimately, I think coming into the game,
Detroit had been having problems with turnovers they had none,
and the Saints were having trouble in the red zone.
What kind of happened during that game to get the
Saints back in the game.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, what's kind of interesting the two big issues that
each team had, they came into the game today and
really eliminated them. Yeah, you know, Detroit was plus two
and turnovers, you know, turn those into fourteen points. And
then the Saints who were three for three in the
red zone today with touchdown right and their big focus,
there was no negative plays. Yeah. Last week against Atlanta,

(14:38):
Jesse Bates makes two phenomenal plays. He picks off Derek
Carr for the first time all season in the red
zone and interception by Derek Carr, and then Tatum Hill
had and fumbled since twenty eighteen, and Jesse's got a
great punch out as he's going to the turf. So
you know, sometimes players just make great plays on the
other side of the ball. But I think the big
thing that Dennis Allen preached to his guys was, you know,

(14:58):
we've got to stay ahead of skin. You know, we're
having penalties, we're having negative plays. And I thought once
they got to the red zone today, they were very,
very sharp, and they spend a little bit of extra
time on it during the course of the week. I
don't know if that was the end all fire all.
I think just you know, really bringing it to everybody's
attention that we're the reason why we're not scoring in
the red zone. It's nothing the other team is doing.

(15:20):
It's not their defense. It's malfunctioning once we get to
that fought on the field. So I think both teams
have to come away feeling good about correcting one of
the big issues coming into the game today. But when
they sit back and watch the film, they're going to
find a couple others that they've got to start to
work on as well.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Daryl mus Johnson joining us here on Fox Sports Radios.
The Lions top the Saints today to keep it on
the Saints conversation. Where are they? I mean, Derek Hargets
knocked out today. The standing show that they're a game
back of Atlanta in the NFC South, but they are
five and seven. Where is this team right now as
we hit the stretch run of the NFL regular season.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
That's a great question. I think it always takes a
little bit of time when you're making that transition at
the quarterback position. I think a lot of people, especially
New Orleans Saints fans, are going to expect Derek car
to walk into that system, pick it up like it's secondhand,
and just start rolling with the offense. And you've got
some learning curve involved with him understanding exactly what Pete

(16:20):
Carmichael wants done with the offense, and then Pete Carmichael's
going to ask their Car, well, what are some of
the concepts that you like and let me roll those
into here. So you've got a little bit of raider
offense that the skill players are getting used to because
that's something that Derek likes, and you've got Derek getting
used to the Saints offense. So it's just there was

(16:40):
always going to be a learning curve, and I think
that's why you had a slow start through the first
five games, but you know, since that time, it's really
been you know, the Saints have been able to move
the ball effectively up and down the field. You know,
Joe Davis came across the great one coming into this week.
You know, since Week five, only the Lions and Cowboys
averaged more yards per game than this did, and they
were two and four. So it was definitely those situational

(17:03):
areas for down red zone that were giving them problems.
So you know, I think once you kind of you know,
get that sorted out, you can start to grow. The
defense has been the big one for me. You know,
I think coach Nielsen, you know, going to Atlanta this
year as the defensive coordinator, I was always impressed with
New Orleans defensive line. And there's going to be some

(17:23):
adjustments there with coach Woods coming in and getting used
to his scheme that he's going to have from Cleveland.
So there's just a lot of growing pains going on.
And I think a lot of times fans look at
it from outside and they don't understand how much transition
and learning and trust has to be developed. So it's
on both sides of the balls. For the Saints, and
I think that that's why you've seen them, you know,

(17:45):
inconsistent and not be able to kind of find that
that complimentary football style during the course of the year.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Yeah, Moose, that's where I was going with the next
The defense. The defense is, uh has really been a
disappointment to me in my eyes. I mean I coming
into the season, I saw that unit, as you know,
probably going to be the unit to lead them come
into this year, and I just don't think they've been
physical enough and I don't think they've been able to
get off the field when it really matters. I mean,
they make splash plays here and there, but at the

(18:11):
end of the day, that's been the side of the
ball for me that's been, you know, the one that
I thought would have been better suited to come out
and play really well together. So what do you think
about that and what do you think they can do
moving forward to try to right their wrongs, because as
we said before, they're still in this division race, so
it's still time to make it click and get some

(18:31):
wins going.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yeah. I think just that defensive line is not playing
at the level that we've seen them play for several
years now. And it's a little bit of both. It's
losing your coach and it's losing a lot of key players.
I mean, if you go back and look at where
that defensive line was four or five years ago and
where they're at now and all the players that have
been kind of picked up in free agency, I mean,
it's a compliment to your organization when teams come looking

(18:54):
for defensive linemen from your team, because they go off
and they play well when they get to the new team. So,
you know, Carl Granderson is a great example. You know,
is are they going to be able to retain him,
is he going to get that big contract or well
he have to move on as well because he's playing really,
really well, and you know three four years ago he
was a rotational guy. So just great development there at

(19:15):
that defensive line position, which is missing right now. The
back end does a great job. They have to play
a lot of man they hold up, but they're the
ones who have to drive the pressure in the sack
numbers because they've got to extend coverage as opposed to
the rush coverage dynamic being the ball's coming out quick
because the d line is getting home. It's the other
way it's the ball's coming out slow because the d

(19:38):
Lion's not getting there and we're stressing the back end
in coverage.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
All Right, We'll leave you with this. Who were the
real Lions?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
The first ten minute Lions today are the one that
we kind of saw the rest of the game.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
What have we got moose?

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Yeah? Right, I think that that's the million dollar question.
When they are rolling, they are really really good. I
think some young teams in the in the you know,
the of the beginning of that process. This is year
three with Dan Campbell and you talk about being able
to focus. And I'm not a big scripted play guy
where you see a team and a game like today

(20:11):
and it's just lights out for that first quarter and
then it kind of fades, and you know, Jared Goff said,
we had a lull there, and you know everybody has those.
They happen, you know, from from time to time. But
if you're going to be that team that the Lions
want to be, and Dan Campbell talked about December football,
and in December is the month when the championship team
start to separate. When you've got somebody down twenty one
nothing and they're five and six, it doesn't even matter

(20:32):
that it's in their stadium. You've got to finish that game.
And you know they didn't do that, and you know
the other elite teams you know can do that. You
know Dallas has been able to do that. Now Dallas
has got to beat a strong opponent they have, but
they don't have that on their resume yet. You know
San Francisco doesn't have that grimy win. Uh. You know
the team that that I've been impressed with is Philadelphia.
I mean for them to find a way to beat

(20:53):
Kansas City, to beat Dallas, to beat Buffalo and a
lot of these tight fits where they're not playing great football,
you know, shows me they're ready to take that next step.
And that's where the lines need to get to. If
they're gonna if they're going to make some noise in
the playoffs, then you get an opportunity to finish a
team like New Orleans, even in their own stadium, then
you got to do it. You got to get it done.
You can't allow that game to be teetering in the

(21:14):
balance the middle of the fourth quarter after a twenty
one to nothing first quarter.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Lea, how did I how did I know you were
going to get Dallas in some kind of way, Moose,
I was, I was waiting.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
To get there. They have to beat a good team.
They haven't done that for me yet. They haven't. They
haven't gotten that that one game that you're like, all right,
here we go. They got closed in Philly, but they
couldn't finish.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
It, Daryl.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
We appreciate the time. I hope the thanksgiving us great.
Happy holidays. We'll talk to you again soon. Thanks so much.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, thanks to you guys too. Happy holiday, Very Christmas.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Darryl Moose Johnson joining us here on Fox Sports already
a good catch by you, Carre. Yeah, yeah, you know
it was gonna come.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah. I try to slide it in some kind of way,
got it in he was able to do.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
So.

Speaker 2 (21:55):

ers touchdown was good or if it was overturned by replay.
I am a believer in the Lions. I do believe

(22:15):
in the Lions, and I think that as Moose said,
you know, it's the million dollar question with them, But
you see in that first ten minutes, and maybe it's
lightning in a bottle. I don't know what it is,
but to see we think of the Lions. I think
at times of oh, that's Jared Goff. If they're going
to have trouble, it's on Jared goff shoulders. Or we

(22:36):
think of the defense that was not good in the
first half of last year but has actually been a
strength of the team more often than not in the
last you know, twenty or so games that the team
has played. And now you look at the emergence of Samuelaporta,
the rookie tight end. What an enormous game today. Remember
Jamison Williams last year had to come off of the
ACL out of college. This year, had to serve as

(22:58):
ban at the beginning of the year. He gets into
the end zone today. For the Lions, if you get
all those pieces together, I don't know if they can
beat the Eagles in a one game matchup. I don't
know if they can in a ten game series or
a seven game series, but in a one game matchup.
I think the Lions are a problem for Philadelphia, They
are a problem for the Niners, and they are a

(23:20):
problem for the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Oh. They're definitely the real deal. And I think when
you talk about those top four teams in the NFC, right,
I mean, you gotta talk about Dallas, you gotta talk
about San Franz, you gotta talk about Philly, they gotta
talk about the Lions. Either one of those teams can win.
I think what's gonna boil down to is home field advantage.
So these games right here, San Francisco and the Eagles, right,

(23:43):
these games matter right now. It's you're past a point
in time where this is just another game. These games
matter now. And so yes, can Detroit win, Yes they can,
but they can also lose. And I think the thing
with Detroit is, you know, like there's top tier talent,
where like the Eagles, on all fronts, they're stacked, they

(24:04):
have names, they're loaded at on every level offensively and defensively.
Where with Detroit, right, they have guys that splash on offense.
You have guys that's splass on defense, and They're a
good team, but I don't think they're great yet.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Their offensive line is really really good. It may not
be Eagles level good, but we're talking top five, yes,
in the National Football and if you know, golf can
play to the level. And then the pieces Jamior Gibbs
don't even talking about, you know, the way that they're
using him and how he emerged from David Montgomery was
out and now you have them kind of complimenting each other.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah, it's there for Detroit, it's just sure. You know.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
It's why they jump out to a twenty one nothing
first quarter lead, but then let the Saints get back
in it. Ah, that's what makes the NFL so great.
All Right, He's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Bier are alive
from the tireq dot Com studios. Manzi Blanio's always great.
She gives us the latest of what is happening in
week thirteen and the latest of what's going on in
the game of the year. Yes, for at least this

(25:00):
week of the National Football League.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
For sure. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (25:03):
After a couple of stops from Eagles defense, it seems
like the forty nine ers are getting in a groove.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
They have taken the lead.

Speaker 7 (25:11):
You know rock Party you mentioned hadn't completed a pass,
but he's he hasn't under his belt. He connected with
Brandon Aiyuk. They got a touchdown, they took the lead.
They already have the ball back. He just threw another
pass to George Kittle, who is still alive and kicking,
and I have him in my fantasy. So you go,
George Kittle and the forty nine Ers are beating the
Eagles seven to six, four minutes to go, and they're
approaching midfield right now. The forty nine ers again have

(25:32):
the ball. The Rams are beating the Browns at home
ten seven. Halfway through the second quarter. Pokin Acua four receptions,
one hundred and five yards, one touchdown, but it did
look like he may have hurt his shoulder.

Speaker 6 (25:43):
He walked over to the sideline holding his shoulder. I
haven't seen an update on that.

Speaker 7 (25:47):
Maybe it was nothing, but I did notice that for
pukuin Akua, who has the most receiving yards.

Speaker 6 (25:51):
For a Rams rookie.

Speaker 7 (25:53):
Lebron James tweeted that and didn't tag pookin Akua, What
are we doing, Lebron night?

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Did he tag Hey, No, don't.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
Get me started on don't get me started on that.
Don't get me started on that. But I literally saw
his tweet and I was like, why did you tag
the kid? Instead?

Speaker 7 (26:08):
He just wrote good job Pookah, like bro tag.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
The kid so we can actually see it.

Speaker 7 (26:13):
No, he doesn't do that, oh, Lebron, because he's at
the game. They already posted a picture of him at
the game. He's at the game, so yeah, of course,
of course he's there again.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
Rams up against the Browns ten to seven.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Halfway through the second the Panthers on the scoreboard, but
the Buccaneers are still up seven to three.

Speaker 6 (26:28):
They're headed into halftime.

Speaker 7 (26:30):
Panthers have the ball around midfield, so we're probably hit
to hit halftime on that one. A lot of games
wrapped up today. Seven in fact, like the Chargers. It
was ugly, but they beat the Patriots six to zero.
Patriots did lose Ramandre Stevenson very early in the game
to an ankle injury.

Speaker 6 (26:45):
No touchdowns thrown.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
Justin Herbert twenty two of thirty seven, Bailey Zappi thirteen
of twenty five.

Speaker 6 (26:50):
It was just ugly.

Speaker 7 (26:51):
The Chargers are now five and seven, Patriots are two
and ten, the Dolphins.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
Nine and three.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
After dominating the Commanders forty five to fifteen to a
togovylace two touchdowns, all to Tyreek Hill. Five receptions, one
hundred and fifty seven yards and those two touchdowns, so
annoying if you're playing against him in fantasy.

Speaker 6 (27:08):
The Texans are now seven and five.

Speaker 7 (27:10):
They held on to beat the Broncos twenty two to seventeen.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
But it wasn't all great for the Texans.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Their rookie wide receiver Tank Dell has a fractured fibula.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Oh he is headed to ir likely.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
Yes, unfortunate, but Nico Collins had nine receptions, one hundred
and ninety one yards and one touchdown in that win.
Russell Wilson had three interceptions. The last play of the
game was an interception in the end zone. The Lions
defeated the Saints thirty three to twenty eight. They are
now nine and three. The Saints lost Derek Carr after
a hard hit in the fourth quarter and Jamis Winston
had to go in. Sam Laporta though nine receptions one

(27:43):
hundred and forty yards and one touchdown for the Lions.
The Falcons top The Falcons top the Jets thirteen to eight.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
New York benched.

Speaker 7 (27:50):
Tim Boyle in the fourth quarter and put in Trevor
Simeon to get something going in the offense, and nothing
went going.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Manzi, if it's I just think it's just quarterback shuffle.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
Yeah, sure, sure, that's what it is. We'll call it that.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
The Golds defeat at the Titans thirty one to twenty
eight in ot and the Cardinals. This game took forever
because the two weather delays. They ended up beating the
Steelers twenty four to ten. Can you Pikett also left
that game in the second quarter with an ankle injury.
James Connor though for Arizona twenty five carries, one hundred
and five yards.

Speaker 6 (28:19):
And two touchdowns. Not too shabby, not bad. I'm sure
I was just.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Redone Monton.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:30):
I can keep going, guys, I got lots to know
I can keep going.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
I just said, I'm still just enamored with we had.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
We had games this week of thirteen to eighty and six.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Nothing, yeah, six nothing.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
And that Jet game started to nothing. It was early
for sure.

Speaker 7 (28:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was crazy.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
I it's it's the NFL that we live in now,
But I don't remember it being.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
This. I got a question for both of you. All Right,
we tend to say when the game is thirteen ten,
sixteen thirteen that it was a bad game. We don't
give any credit to the defenses anymore. So, okay, So
I think there's a stigma around the lower scoring games
now if it's a bad game quality wise, where it's

(29:21):
just you can tell it's a bad game, or was
it good defense at the ball?

Speaker 6 (29:26):
You know, I think you make a good point. But
let me tell you. The Chargers Patriots game.

Speaker 8 (29:30):
Was not a good game.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
It was likely that was not a defense thing. That
was not you know, but I agree with you.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
You know, I have sat through a lot of old
Steelers Ravens games because my boyfriend's a Ravens fan, and
he makes.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
Me watch a lot of old games where it's a
low scoring game and he's like, look at the defense
is so good and it's ten to seven.

Speaker 7 (29:50):
So I get what you're saying, right, yes, but that
wasn't the case in some of these games today.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
It's not a stigma. It's a stink master. That's what.
Six nothing, teenager, there's your dad joke.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
No, you're gonna get more. Please don't lie, don't let
us you ain't gonna like.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Your number one. Yes, there may be more.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
You got fantasy numbers for us in like ten minutes
or so, sure, right, give us some or you could
just tell us how your team's doing it.

Speaker 7 (30:16):
Yeah, no, let's not talk about it.

Speaker 6 (30:19):
Some good, some bad.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
There's there's you know that you know that meme that
you've seen on the internet with the gang members of
the Crips and Bloods holding them bandana tied together.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Have you seen this in Yes, that's what I felt like.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Belichick and Staley were like like today, like you know
here we are together, both not likely to return. We
provided you with the most awful football game you could
ever imagine. Patriots getting what they wanted, and that's a loss.
They are now, by the way, comfortably in the top

(30:56):
three of the NFL. So you have Carolina with one win,
The Patriots have their two wins. Arizona's picked up a win,
but right now they have like almost a two game
cushion because everybody else has four wins or more. The
Patriots are just positioning themselves for one of those top
two picks in the draft and not scoring any points

(31:19):
today and only scoring seven last week against the Giants,
sure as helping matters.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
And you could see it too. I turned on the
end of that game for some weird reason, and you know,
they got stopped. There was no emotion out of Belichick.
You know, like there was like they've accepted defeat. Sure,
they're ready for the year to be over.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
I at the beginning of the season, Carrie, We're looking
at who we thought were good teams, who we thought
were bad teams, and who was gonna win the Caleb
Williams sweepstakes. And I think it was a general it
was unanimous, but the general consensus was that Arizona probably
going to get the number one pick, feeling they had
maybe the worst roster. We didn't know if Kyler Murray

(32:02):
was going to play, that that would maybe be the
team that we would see end up getting the number
one pick. Now right now, they just picked up their
third win. But Kyler Murray's playing. He seems to not
have any ill effects from his surgery.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
YEP.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
I also think that it takes it takes a team
to know how to tank, and like you can't just
leave it up to a negligent franchise because look at
what happened last year with the Houston Texans for a
while they were a negligent franchise, and they ended up
winning a game at the end of the year that

(32:35):
knocked him out of the top spot. Now in the end,
it's worked out beautifully that they got c. J. Stroud,
But there is the look on cal McNair's face when
they won an Indianapolis, realizing that they were going to
be knocked out, like it's I think, like to be
able to tank and get that number one overall pick,
you need to be a knowledgeable organization, and I think

(32:58):
that's what the Patriots are proving right now, Like they're like,
not only are we going to be bad or in
different words than Jabrill Peppers used last week where he
got in trouble for saying what he said to Saquon
Barkley saying that they were bleep, but it's the fact
is is not only are we going to score seven
points against the Giants the next week, We're not even gonna.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Score any against the Chargers this.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
There's something there's something to the way that the Patriots
have gone about this that you don't think it's just ram.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
You know, it's funny, you're actually you're correct there, but
I'll take it even a step further, right, Wilkes, No
books was in Carolina. Who was the coach in Houston
Houston last year was U Gosh. I can't think of
right now because Wilkes, but it was a guy that
knew he was going to be gone. Love Smith, David Kelly. Okay,

(33:46):
those were the last two. Like those guys head coaches
like like those, they're still auditioning for other jobs and
still have stuff to prove, right, Yep, Belichick has none
of that. He's done it, he's won, he's done whatever,
whatever he's do in his league, it's already been kind
of achieved. So when you're in full tank mold that
way and you have nothing to prove, you know how

(34:08):
to tank correctly, and so you're you one hundred percent
correct on that.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
He's carry roads. I'm Dan Bayer again. I'll look at
the scores that are going on right now. They did
go to the half bucks on top of the Panthers
seventy three. The Niners do have the football first in
goal at the Eagles six yard line forty two seconds
left to go San Francisco up on Philly in that matchup,
and the Rams have that ten to seven lead on
the Brons right now for twenty two to go until halftime,

(34:33):
We'll have a look at your fantasy numbers and coming
up in eighteen minutes, carry and I will also take
a look at the college football playoff bracket because a
lot of drama, a lot of conversation on what the
top four is that coming up in about eighteen minutes
or so. He's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Bayer.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
That's all next here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 9 (34:50):
Mikaffrey the lone back hurdy under center, handoff coming left, touchdown.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Seems hey, hue hole.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
For McCaffrey behind Trent Williams and Aaron Banks.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Trent Williams gets a great kickout block.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
What a difference a quarter makes. He's Carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio Highlight their
courtesy of KMBR and the forty nine Ers Radio Network.
The extra point after that Christian McCaffrey touchdown was good
and the Niners take a fourteen to six lead into
the half. In Philadelphia, Eagles dominated to the first quarter
statistic wise, but settled for two field goals. Niners came

(35:30):
back and answered, like you felt that they would carry,
they get into the end zone and outscore the Eagles
fourteen to nothing in that second quarter, giving them the
eight point edge.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
In Philadelphia, Yeah, six nothing, wasn't gonna beat the forty
nine ers today, right, So had a bad first quarter
and it wasn't even like they had a chance to
get started. They had two quick three and outs, and
you know, Philly did a good job of driving down
San Francusco defense did a good job of forcing them
to kick field goals and in the second quarter. San
Francisco return to favor, dominated the second quarter and score touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
And that's the difference right now. Ego's unable to run
the ball. DeAndre Swift just four yards or eight yards
on four carries kind of gain well, just five yards.
Jalen Hurts, their leading rusher two carries eleven yards. Browns
and Rams tied up at ten, just north of the
two minute warning in that contest. While they are underway
in the second half in Tampa, Buccaneers lead the Panthers
seven to three, just getting underway. Panthers wearing they're all

(36:26):
blue uniforms today, which I actually don't mind. I also
don't mind some fantasy numbers. Let's get a look for
Monci Bilanio's.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Fantasy hits and missing. All right, Manzi, we are our
big hitters today in week thirteen.

Speaker 6 (36:42):
All right, Well, quarterback wise, there's no quarterback today so.

Speaker 7 (36:46):
Far that has outshined what Gino Smith and Dak Prescott did.
Just to mention that, So I'm gonna I'm gonna give
you a couple of numbers. Gino Smith through for three
hundred and thirty four yards and four touchdowns, Dak Prescott
through for two hundred and ninety nine yards and three touchdowns.
Today it's two Atagovailoa who threw for two hundred and
eighty yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (37:08):
Gardner Minshew threw for three hundred.

Speaker 7 (37:11):
And twelve yards and two touchdowns in today's game. Running
backs wise, we're gonna go to Derrick Henry who had
one hundred and two yards on the ground to go
along with two touchdowns. And Alvin Kamara, who had a
slow start because I have him in one of my leagues,
ended up with fifty one rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 6 (37:29):
He also had fifty eight receiving yards. Helps, Yeah, it
does help, it does uh huh. Wide receivers.

Speaker 7 (37:35):
Of course, Tyree killed just five receptions one hundred and
fifty seven yards and two touchdowns, six receiving yards if
that matters. And then Nico Collins which I mentioned at earlier,
nine receptions, one hundred and ninety one yards, one touchdown
and nine receiving.

Speaker 6 (37:51):
Yards as well. So that's your fantasy hits so far.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
And Gardner Minshew, by the way, may have been started
this week because of the six teams that you have
on Buy. You don't have Lamar Jackson, you don't have
Josh Allen. Those guys are sitting out. So if you're
going around looking for a quarterback, Gardner Minshew may have
been available.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
It may have come up big for you.

Speaker 6 (38:12):
Yeah, with three hundred yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 7 (38:14):
No pick.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Gardner was one of the sneaky pickups as well. I
mean you had a guy with the Colts that you
knew he was going to come in and be able
to play well and kind of bridge gap. Anthony Richerson
and Anthony Anthony Richardson played well at first, but they
have Gardner Minshew with the backup as a pretty good pickup.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Let me let me let me ask you this, Carrie.
Thanks wontsy for that appreciated look at the fantasy numbers.
Because Joe Flacco just comes in off the streets. Soon
he's a super Bowl winner. There's there's no doubt Joe
Flacco can play quarterback in his sleep. It seems Gardner
Minshew may be the same way. Yeah, when you take
someone like Zach Wilson, is there ever going to be

(38:52):
a role like that for him? Could he ever turn
into a Gardner Minshew guy? Or do you think it
too far down the road for something like that, that
that's too.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Far down the road to look at. I still think
there is a situation if it's if his confidence isn't
too shaken after playing behind that terrible offensive line in
New York, in that terrible scheme in New York. Right now,
if he can still somehow keep his confidence, he has
a chance to still be a really a good quarterback

(39:24):
in this league. And I and you can just only
look as far as Geno Smith, right, Geno Smith was
a top rated quarterback in New York, played terrible, got
the boot, and got another resurrection chance in Seattle. So
it's not over.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
I think Gino's the exception to the league because I
just think guys have it or they don't. Like Gardner
Minshew came on the scene splashed in jacksual. Maybe it
wasn't the long term answer for them at that time,
but was enough to now make a career and and
and be that guy.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
I think Ryan.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Fitzpatrick, yeah, you know, and and Flacker by the way,
in their class. It's just the fact that he's a
Super Bowl quarterback. He knows the position. But when you're
talking about these guys coming in and because it's difficult
at times for teams to find backup quarterbacks, we've seen
it throughout the league so far. But yet all of
a sudden, Joe Flacco walks into Cleveland a couple of

(40:15):
weeks ago and has him tied with the Rams.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
I mean, Joe Flacco was in New York last year,
so it doesn't imagine if he was in the mix now.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
I just yeah, And in bringing up Zach Wilson and others,
and I think there's going to be that question about,
you know, guys like Trey Lance and Mac Jones and
you know, these these picks. Yeah, I think you got
it or you don't. And I think that a guy
like Gardner Minshew is the one that shows that he's
got it. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Bayer. We are
a love for the tirerack dot Com Studios again. Seven

(40:43):
to three game in Tampa, Bucks over the Panthers, Rams
and Browns tied at ten, and the Niners have that
fourteen to six lead over the Eagles at the half,
coming up next to the committee.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Get it right. We talk about it on Fox.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Rolling along and they're about to get on the way
in this sect and half in Philadelphia, Niners on top
of those Eagles, as Monsey told you, fourteen to six. Well,
the Rams facing a big third down late in the
first half in their tie game with the Browns and
they're playing football in Tampa. That may be the best
way to describe it. We are broadcasting live from the
tierrech dot Com studios tyreq dot com. We'll help you

(41:19):
get there an unmett selection, fast free shipping, free road
hazard protection. You know over ten thousand recommended installers, tyreck
dot com. The way tire buying should be. Interim head
coach Chris Tabor taking over for the fired Frank Reich.
I know you had a bunch of coaches during your time.
Did you have interim cases to ever play under. Did
you ever have that scenario where somebody had to take

(41:39):
over the end of the year.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
No, I never had an interrum head coach. But I
actually know Frank. Frank was in Arizona with me. He
was a quarterback coach there in twenty ten eleven, one
of I think both of those years. But uh, really
good coach, really bright guy. That situation is, it's a
bad one. And you know, once you're the head coach
or GM of a team and you don't get your guy,

(42:02):
which you heard that now that he's fired. Frank wanted
c J. Stroud as his guy. So when you don't
have your guy, things tend to go south for you
really quickly.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
It is funny because I've brought it up on the
show the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
That wasn't a theme that I.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Had heard over the summer exactly all of a sudden,
now you start to hear and I just remember the
Josh McCown talking to CJ. Stroud because you're talking about
basketball or something. He's like, oh, yeah, there's gonna be
tons of spots to play in Charlotte A. You're gonna
love this spot. So everybody kind of assumed that that
was going to be the destination for CJ. Stroud, and

(42:39):
then when it wasn't, they're like, man, that was kind
of dirty of them to say that. It could also
have been gamesmanship during the draft. But yeah, the Panthers
right now just three points in that game against the
Buccaneers where they trail seven to three.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
Do you think Bryce Young will be able to bounce
back after this year? I mean, I know he has
great character and all that. I mean, he is that guy,
But what do you think about that situation? I think
that he can be a good NFL quarterback. You do, yes,
but I don't think. I don't.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
I don't see the greatness and.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
That it's probably not fair.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
Heck, I'd even argue that if if you really wanted
to go the upside. You mentioned Anthony Richardson earlier in
this even more so than c J. Stroud, If you
if you wanted to go that rout, and I feel
that teams were trying to chase after the next Josh Allen,
that then Anthony Richardson would be your guy. That's the
guy that you would want to take number one overall,
if you really wanted to reach the highest of highest points.

(43:41):
What I do think you will see now though, is
I think that you will see teams trying to look
for the next CJ. Stroud because it just happens like
that when you have that success. So you take that
certain player. And we knew that Josh Allen was a
bit of a project and there were growing pains at first,

(44:01):
and then his career took off. Now all of a sudden,
you're trying to find the next You're trying to find
the next Josh Allen. I think that that happens in
a lot of different sports. Try to find the next
Kevin Garnett, try to find the next year Guy Dirk.
How many years have teams been trying to draft the
next Dirk Noavinsky and getting the you know, the power
forward from Europe to come in like that has always happened,

(44:22):
and I think now with like the success of CJ.
Strawd in Houston, I think teams will be trying to
trying to replicate that as well.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
And the crazy thing about those three, I think the
consensus of what people were leaning towards was that CJ.
I mean that bry Sung was the safest pick out
of those three, and right now he doesn't look like
that at all. And I remember in the preseason, because
the way CJ. Style played, there are a lot of
media pundits talking about him being really bad and not

(44:51):
really being that good of a pick for Houston. And
he's probably going to be the one that needed the
most time to get, you know, acclimated into the game
because of you know, him planning Ohio State with all
these talented people. Right so now he's in Houston where
he doesn't have that, and like, how is he going
to elevate his team mate? Well, I think we're seeing
that right now.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
Like the two craziest things to me are how NFL
talent in the Niners. You just heard Kerry be amazed
by Deebo Samuel taking an end around and they've just
gotten into the end zone to now extend their lead
over the Philadelphia Eagles. So it's now twenty to six
early in the third quarter, extra point coming up for

(45:30):
San Francisco. I think when you end up looking at
the quarterback situation in CJ. Stroud being like, hey, okay,
this could be a problem here, I think it's ridiculous.
Number one that throwing to NFL talent is a bad
thing exactly, you know like that, Like I understand, like
you know you can overmatch someone, but are you Like

(45:53):
I just don't know many quarterbacks that are taking mediocre
talent at the wide receiver position and elevating them. I
think that they're there's something to it to be able
to throw to talent that is similar. Like you and
the Ohio State narrative, I never thought was necessarily fair.
Maybe some bias to it as well as I may

(46:13):
Bee fan, but I just when you watch CJ. Stroud play,
the crazy thing about it was how easy he made
it look. And there may have been struggles early on
in his first year in Columbus, but by the second
half of last season just made everything look really easy.
And you take easy throws for granted. And now when

(46:34):
you watch him throw, it's I mean, he just looks
like he's been in the league for ten years. He
looks seasoned.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
Yeah, he looks really good, and there's no sign of
him letting his foot off the gas at all. I
think he realizes right now that he is already at
such a young gage the leader of that team, and
he's got a first year he had coach to grow
with as well, my old high school teammate Demico Ryan.
You know once we talked about earlier, when you're a

(47:02):
head coach or you're a GM and you get your
guy and you find that guy and ride out, that's
where success happens. And I mean we've seen it through history,
right Belichick, Brady, Montana, Seafort and Walts before that. But like,
having those guys and unison is always a beautiful thing.
I love that. Yeah, you like that.

Speaker 3 (47:19):
I do.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
I really like it because there are too many coaching
trees that are like too small. Like I look at
the the Andy Reid coaching tree, but Andy Reid is
home Grin and home Gren is Walsh, yes, and so
like along those things. I this may sound absurd, I
still at times look at Bill Belichick as Bill Parcells

(47:40):
defensive coordinator. Yeah, like you know, that's the age that
you are, and that's that's probably the thing against me.
You know, the heck of the six Super Bowl rings,
you know, he was Parcels. So I look at that
portion of the coaching tree as well. The extra point
was good in Philadelphia, So the Niners now up twenty
one to six in Philadelphia twenty one unanswered, Philadelphia led

(48:00):
in the first quarter six nothing. All right, let's get
to this college football playoff bracket. So much discussion last
night after all the games were done, and you're alma
mater Felda of Florida State the ACC Championship game. I
felt like as the night went on, we realized Georgia
was out of it, and as the morning came that
Georgia probably wasn't going to get into the bracket. So

(48:21):
now it's just a question of all right. I felt
Texas was probably in as well. What do you do
with Alabama? What do you do with Florida State? That
ended up being the ultimate decision. Alabama ends up getting
the nod over the Seminoles. There's a bunch going on,
and I think there's so many different theories thrown out.
But we were just talking about Ohio State quarterbacks and

(48:44):
I'm sorry. In twenty fourteen, and this is is known
to everyone of when Ohio State lost, JT. Barrett and
Carl L. Jones had to come in. They knew that
they had to turn it up against Wisconsin in the
Big Ten title game. They did it then then they
ended up beating Alabama than Oregon on the way to
the national title. Florida State needed to do the same

(49:04):
last night. They really did. They could have maybe won
thirty one nothing or something. They didn't have to win
fifty nine to nothing. But you can't win the defensive
battle that they had. You can't have fifty five yards passing.
And I know the quarterback that played last night, brock Glenn,
was not going to be their starter. They made the playoffs, yes,
but still, like when you're splitting hairs here, it came

(49:25):
down to it, and I do believe.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
That Alabama was the correct choice at number four. It's
tough for a power five school in the ACC to
go thirteen and o and not make the CFP. You know,
the playoffs, the playoffs, it's hard to turn that down.
The ACC actually had a winning record against SEC this year,

(49:49):
and so when you really look at it that way,
the determination of them being lesser than a one loss
SEC champion, it's it's hard. It's hard. Yeah, it's hard
to fathom for me. And you said it. You just
made a key point there with we're looking at what
we're looking at and it's the third string quarterback. They're

(50:10):
not going to be Louisville thirty one nothing. Louis was
a good team and a good defensive team, and if
we play decently on the offense, which we have all year,
we can win that game anyway, even I think in
a healthy situation with Jordan Travis. So, if you haven't
been looking at the ACC or Florida State all year
and you see that game, I could see why you
would go Alabama. Right, I could see that case. But

(50:33):
if you're if you actually watch Florida State, they've they've
they've been really good and really dominant all year. So
to have this situation where the third string quarterback is playing,
he's not going to be the quarterback in the playoffs,
it's hard for me to see them not get in.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
There's there there is a bias towards that league. There's
a there's against that league. I'm sure there's a bias
for the SEC, and honestly, there's a bias for the
Big Ten as well. Yeah, I'm a Big Ten guy.
Outside of your top two tens. That conference stinks. It's
really not that good. Yeah then sorry, Iowa Sam, Sorry,
sorry Iowa Sam.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Yeah, it's true. I mean, I'm it's.

Speaker 2 (51:10):
Only one half of Io stinks, Alright, that's true. Penn
State's not happy with me either, But I do believe
that facts are facts. Yeah, I don't. I think one
misconception that I hear a lot is that thirteen and
oh is better than twelve and one, And I just
I just have a difficult time believing that because I

(51:32):
think thirteen and o's are built differently. Honestly, you know,
with thirteen and oh, that's built differently. Michigan's this is
a school, this is a school that was Okay, think
about this, hey, guys, Dan's Ohio State fans, remember this,
think about this. Last twenty four hours, you have a team,
a school that was caught cheating, okay, had their coach suspended,
played no one in the non conference game, has not

(51:55):
gone on the road and really beaten anyone.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
Sorry Iowa, Sam, And that's get your field.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
But the the fact is is they're not only locked in,
they're the unquestioned number one of the top seed of
the bracket. And so that's where I also get to
thirteen and oh and twelve and one, And how do
we truly look at it? You know, I think Washington
just as much of an argument of being number one overall.

(52:21):
You know, yeah, if you really wanted to put it
that way. But we do focus on Alabama, we do
focus on Florida State, and I do believe that they
they got it right. And I know fourth and goal
against Auburn is there, but they still won the game.
They still were able to win that game, and that
allows them to then go to Atlanta and keep that

(52:43):
momentum and and they and get that fourth seed. I
just don't I just don't think that you can put
Florida State in that spot. Yeah, considering where they are
offensively without Jordan Travis. I was a Heisman candidate for sure.

Speaker 1 (52:57):
But I just think you have to have these conversations great,
and then it can go either way. And it's you know,
that's the beauty of sports in life in general. Right
the consensus can be the consensus one way, and the
other way it can be the other consensus. Right, So
there's not a real solid footing with it, And I
think that's where the confusion comes in. Right, are you
picking the four best teams or are you picking the

(53:19):
four most deserving teams? And so that's that's a little
bit of a caveat that. You know, we don't know
the answer to.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Sure, and I would say that this iteration of this
Florida State team is two and zero because of the
quarterback situation. Yeah, so is that two and oh team
better than the twelve and one Alabama team because of
the eleven other wins that you had had your star
quarterback and that's I don't think you can look at them.

(53:46):
It's thirteen and oh. I know that they are very mad,
and I know Florida State not wanting to be in
the ACC and having their own issues with that league
now may even be heightened. This is also the point
carry where it's the last time we'll have this because
of the twelve team playoff next year. Next year you
would just say, oh, put them in the side of
the bracket and if Alabama has the buy in Florida

(54:07):
State wins, then they can play in the next round
and the quarterfinals.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Then we're going to talk about the thirteenth team. So
it'll the discussion will never stop anyway, we just won't
be as mad about it, exactly. All right, he's carry roads,
I'm Dan Byer, and the Panthers are into the end zone. Yes,
stop the press is Cuba Hubbard gets in for Carolina.
They have now taken a lead on the Buccaneers. A
five play sixty five yard drive has Carolina with the

(54:33):
extra point good now up ten to seven on the Buccaneers.
Five oh four left to go in the third quarter.
The Niners, we told you, continue to lead the Eagles
twenty one to six. A little scuffle on the sideline
involving Dre Greenlaw. Look like green Law may have here,
yes at one of the assistant coaches and so now

(54:54):
the referees are or maybe the assistant coach was in
the way of Devonte Smith, but referees are separating.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
We'll tell you the fallout in just a little bit.
Rams kicked a field goal. They're up on the Browns
at the half, thirteen to ten.

Speaker 1 (55:08):
Hit.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Carry up at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can find
me at Dan Byer on Fox on X formerly known
as Twitter, and coming up next, we'll talk with our
NFL insider Adam Kaplan, find out who's in line to
be the next head coach of the Carolina Panthers and
if there's any other moves in the NFL that could
becoming in the near future, including our return of one

(55:29):
mister Aaron Rodgers. That's next year. On Fox Sports Radio. Now,
oh there it is Fox Sports dread Zone Radio, the
Dulca tones of Bill Belichick. He's carry Rhoades, I'm dan Byer.
A lot has happened. We're gonna get to Adam Kaplan
in just a sec. But I do need to inform

(55:49):
you that as soon as the Panthers scored on a
one yard touchdown run by Chewba Hubbard, the Buccaneers answered
Mike Evans seventy five yard touchdown reception from Baker Mayfield.
Extra point was good, So the Buccaneers are backup on
the Panthers, fourteen to ten. Phoka Nakua has left this
game for the Rams twice with different injuries, and he's
still playing Rams thirteen to ten. On top of the Browns.

(56:11):
Early in the third quarter, while the Eagles have just
gotten into the end zone, tempers are flaring. Yes, not
only did the Eagles do the brotherly shove to get
into the end zone on a Jalen Hurts one yard
touchdown run, he got two yards on a previous I
swear it was from the three yard line kerry that
they tried it got two yards and then got the
final one. So the Eagles have pulled within a touchdown

(56:31):
of the Niners twenty one to thirteen.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
Yeah, this game is getting real chippy. You can tell
we talked about it earlier. Right, We're past the point
where these are just friendly games now. Yeah, I get
matters now. And you can tell that both teams want
to win this game, and both teams really do not
like each other. So we'll see how it turns out.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
Dre Greenlaw has been ejected by the Niners, and so
is Big Dom. To help us tell us who Big
Dom is and so much more about the NFL, we
go straight to Philadelphia. Adam Kaplan, Sports Radio, NFL insider,
Inside the Birds podcast, and Pro Football Network writer joining
us here. Hello, Adam, Great to talk to you again.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
Big Dom. Is that the Philadelphia security guy.

Speaker 8 (57:11):
Yeah, he is Dom. Desandra is his name.

Speaker 10 (57:13):
He's actually a former Penn State football player, believer or not,
and he's worked for the Eagles for you know, a
neighborhood of two decades. He was an assistant and then
Butcher but Giano, his boss, the Eagle security director, retired,
Dom took over. Dom did all the security work when
the when the Eagles need security work done, sometimes he
has to travel to a university or when they did

(57:35):
their homework, when they were doing their getting their homework
done on Sean Watson potential trade a couple of years ago,
they sent them out together information.

Speaker 8 (57:43):
So yeah, he's an important guy.

Speaker 10 (57:44):
So to move this forward here, he also got chucked
because Greenlaw got in his face.

Speaker 8 (57:49):
Greenlaw poked, you know, poked.

Speaker 10 (57:51):
Him and I'm just having Dom there.

Speaker 8 (57:56):
Look, he's always on the sideline. Security director is usually there.

Speaker 10 (57:59):
But yeah, they ejected him, and that the craziness of
this and the thing you don't I don't know if
you guys know this. I heard Greg Olsen talking about it.
For charity they have because the the word got out.

Speaker 8 (58:09):
What the guy does?

Speaker 1 (58:10):
You know?

Speaker 10 (58:10):
For the Eagles, So the Eagles didn't deny anymore. So
for Eagles Autism Drive they have t shirts of Dom.
Dom Desander has his own teacher security director. That's insane.
Well have you ever heard of that before?

Speaker 1 (58:22):
No, not at all. Yeah, it's it's now. It's now.
It's apparent he's just trying to get a little bit,
a little bit more TV time. So we're talking about
him a little bit. I get it now. I understand that.

Speaker 10 (58:32):
Yeah, carry think about this being fun with NFL teams.
Typically clubs, they will acknowledge that they have a security director,
but they won't they won't discuss who this person is,
right because the guy's a legend here. He's from the
Philadelphia area. You kind of know, because there's a lot
of video of him around the around the players and
so forth. People want to know who he is and

(58:52):
or got out after reporters putting it out there. Myself
and others included over the years that this guy's a
pretty important part of the organization. And look, you know
that from working for clubs like these guys are super
important to gather information to protect the football players.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Oh they are. I mean the stuff that those guys
have to go through, and the intel and just even
when I remember early on in my Jets days when
the Riots share stuff was starting to happen, just having
those those things that you can rely on, the late
night calls if you're out late and you don't want
to drive, they sing your card. Just all the things

(59:28):
and the details that happened with those guys that are
very important. But I want to talk about this game
a little bit, Adam, because I mean, we know coming
into this game that both teams don't like each other
and each other. And I think that San Francisco has
been more open about that disday and that they had
or that they could have won this game if they
had Brock and all the things. But you can see
the tempers playing and both teams want to win. What

(59:50):
was the talk leading up to this week?

Speaker 10 (59:52):
Yeah, look, Deebo Samuel, there's a video that's been recirculated.
It was from a while back about him just they
didn't they felt like they got cheated because it Brock
got heard and he says some inflammatory things. At least
the Eagles took it that way and became bulleted war material.
You would know better than I how much that really means.
I don't think it had much to do with the game,
because the Niners, who kind of dominated the Eagles, went

(01:00:14):
up and scored two field goals all They moved the
ball pretty well. But I thought coming into this game,
the Niners are the better team that's kind of held out.
The Eagles are not clearly not as good as last year.
They're down seven starters. The Niners are clearly the healthier team,
and they've outplayed.

Speaker 8 (01:00:28):
The Eagles today.

Speaker 10 (01:00:28):
It's been It's been an interesting game because we had
rained this entire weekend, but it stopped around to Eastern
and it's it's been kind of a clean game. A
little strange with the sideline confrontation, but the Niners to me,
came in as the better team and they certainly look
like it right now.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
Adam Kaplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Carrie
and I touched on this earlier, This stretch that the
Eagles have, I've never seen anything like it. Yeah, I mean,
I and next week maybe more important than even this
game going on right here. I mean, could there be
a sense in Philadelphia where it's like, hey, we get
out of this four and one, we should be pretty good.

(01:01:06):
I mean because realistically, after winning the first three games,
you would think that they would have a cushion at
least on the division of the Cowboys. But how was
this stretch viewed in Philly.

Speaker 10 (01:01:15):
Well, the craziness of it is five straight opponents will
have more rest than they have and this should not
have been happened the NFL when they put their schedule
out as great if a job as an NFL does,
this never should have happened. I don't know, I don't
know how they let this happen, but and I know
the way clubs are. I'm sure the Eagles complain about it,
but it is what it is. And yeah, they the
Cowboys are coming off their by I mean, their mini buy.

Speaker 8 (01:01:37):
They played Thursday. They don't play it on next Monday night.

Speaker 10 (01:01:40):
And the Eagles here playing Sunday evening and then they'll
play at Dallas next Monday night, and then they're at Seattle, guys.
And remember that game was scheduled to be Sunday afternoon.
That move that got lift to Monday night. So it's
kind of crazy the schedule that the Eagles have here.
And you're right, Dan, it's the toughest in the National
FOOTB League over six week pere. In fact, I've started
saying like it, we call it the Gauntlet. But they're

(01:02:02):
so they're undefeated for the for the through I would say, yeah,
obviously the first three games, but it's a six game
stretch and.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
It's Sunday night next week against the Cowboys and then.

Speaker 10 (01:02:10):
Yeah, yeah, Sunday night then money and I'm sorry, yeah,
Sunday night, then Monday night. It's not Now if somehow,
by a minor miracle, the Eagles they beat the Niners
and beat the Cowboys and beat the Seahawks.

Speaker 8 (01:02:20):
They're winning to the conference. They're gonna be the number
one seed.

Speaker 10 (01:02:22):
Why because the final three games are against the Dregson National
Football Like twice against the Giants, once against the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
Yeah, Adam, they're not gonna win all those games. They're
gonna lose yesting today. And and the other thing about
the Eagles, I know we talked early on in the
preseason about I had a little concern about the Super
Bowl hango for them, which I don't think that's actually happening,
but I don't I say it senses. My senses tell
me that something is a little bit off with the same.
They've found ways to win, but they're not as dominant.

(01:02:51):
And we were talking about it earlier as far as
the top four in the NFC in our opinions, which
is the Eagles, forty nine, Ers, Cowboys in Detroit, right,
all those teams can when how important is home field
event is going to be for these top teams moving forward?

Speaker 10 (01:03:04):
Sure will be because if the Eagles don't get to
buy you know, they're they're beat up in the secondary.
They're playing guys. I mean they're playing two guys at
linebacker today. For instance, right Nick Morrow was cut before
the season started. He got brought back to be their
fourth linebacker. He's now starting today because Ni Kobe Deane
probably will miss the rest of the season with a
broken foot. They're playing kick Christian Alis, Luther Ellis's son,

(01:03:25):
who's really a fifth inside linebacker here to start today.
And that just showed on the mistackle for Deebo Sama's touchdown.
They're just again carry they're playing. They're down seven started
from last season, but two new coordinators. Yeah, that's why
I didn't think. I thought, you know, I thought there'd
be a chance he wouldn't get back.

Speaker 9 (01:03:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:03:42):
I don't really call it the Super Bowl hangover. You
just have to look at the reality of that.

Speaker 10 (01:03:45):
They're not. They don't have the same team. They're not
they don't have the same talent as they did last year,
where they had clear the NFL's best roster.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
As Adam just Referencedevebo Samuel getting into the end zone
forty eight yard touchdown pass and catch perty two debo
as the extra point is about to be attempted, but
it's twenty seven to thirteen. There was a flag on
the play, So kick was good but not determining what
the laundry was for. But the Niners back up fourteen
Adam Kaplan joining us here hit him on X formerly

(01:04:13):
known as twitter at Kaplin NFL. Let's get to a
couple of other issues. Panthers obviously move on from Frank
Reich this week they're playing right now. You hear the
big names. You hear Ben Johnson, you hear Jim Harbaugh's
name being thrown out there for vacancies. Is Johnson in Carolina?
A connection? Where do we see the Panthers going as
they move on from the Frank Reich era?

Speaker 10 (01:04:34):
Yeah, I reported this last oh know gosh, almost a
year ago. So what happened was they wanted to hire
Ben Johnson. They just he decided that he didn't want
to interview. Really within hours before he'sister fly. That was
the guy they targeted. In fact, what they were going
to do is put Ben Johnson and if Ben Johnson

(01:04:55):
was okay with it, and before the Eagles did it,
they're planning on having Bench Johnson being teamed with Eagles
now offensive corner then quarterbacks coach by Brian Johnson. The
Johnson and Johnson pair, but obviously Ben Johnson decided to
stay and Brian Johnson got promoted, so that that's over with.
I would expect both, by the way to get those

(01:05:16):
those requests and whether those guys would want to interview
with the Panthers as a different story. But although I
would tell you Steve Wilks is a really good coach,
they you know, I can't speak for the Panthers, but
I know that they were steadfast and hiring a coach
from the offensive side of the football because they.

Speaker 8 (01:05:30):
Knew they were going to draft a quarterback.

Speaker 10 (01:05:32):
They didn't know then there was going to be Bryce Young,
but they knew they were going to do that, and
that's why they hired an offensive coach.

Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Yeah, it's good. Good. We were talking about that as well.
We talked about the top three quarterbacks last year being
taken in the draft, with Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson and
c J. Stroud. And I know a lot of media
a pundits were, you know, leaning towards you know, Bryce
Young being the safest right, and you have Anthony Richardson
possibly being the home run. But c J. Stroud was

(01:05:58):
the one that they thought with take a little bit
longer to develop, and he's been I mean in the
MVP conversation here a little bit. How impressive has he
been to you so far this season?

Speaker 10 (01:06:09):
You know, the funny thing, Kerry is that the knock
on him was that he was not a great anticipator,
wasn't a great timing passer. Well, that the opposite has
been true. That's why you just mentioned it. I vote
in two polls and he's in my top five. I
just started my list, so I don't have to wait
at the last minute to turn my list in. He's
in my top five. If they make the playoffs, Folks,

(01:06:32):
Dumiico Ryans is my coach of the year, and I
know they're probably seven or eight really good candidates. Vegas
gave him a three win total. Okay, that's how little
Vegas thought of Oddsmaker thought of the Texans this year.

Speaker 8 (01:06:45):
It's a remarkable story. It's seven to five.

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
Now.

Speaker 10 (01:06:48):
I don't think they're going to win a division, but
they have a very legit shot to be a wildcard.

Speaker 8 (01:06:52):
What a story.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Adam Kapln Jennings here at Fox Sports Radio. I have
liked the Texans the season I did. I didn't think
it would be this quick, but I did. I thought
they'd be a second half team, but they've been an
all season team. Yeah, Pittsburgh Steelers made a change, you know,
a week or so ago, but not a lot has
changed on offense. They lose a tough one to the
Cardinals today. Are their bigger picture issues with Pittsburgh and

(01:07:15):
that offense at them?

Speaker 10 (01:07:16):
Yeah, Well, first of all, Pickett got hurt. He came
in with an ankle injury. Now I'm told it's a
left ankle injury. I don't know if it's the same
echo that he came in with that was he was
dealing with. But look, he got hurt in the first half,
or he got hurt early on that goal line play.
It's a shame didn't return. Yeah, the two stoppages, it
just was a mess. And it did rain there as
you know with the storms there. So I love the

(01:07:39):
plan in the first game. They were very aggressive. Fact,
they were takes us from shots today before Pickett got hurt.
I'm going to hold up on that one. I wrote
for Pro Football Network why they moved on from Mack Canada.
The issues you know from people I've talked to a
greater their tape, but they definitely are more aggressive with Picket.
Now unfortunately again he got hurt, the defense had breakdown. Say, hey,

(01:08:00):
the Cardinals are not a good football team, they're one
of the worst. But as a heck of a win there,
I mean you got to give.

Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
To him and the Rogers comeback likely d a now.

Speaker 10 (01:08:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was yeah and fine, and I'm
glad you brought up there. I don't know why I
didn't start Trevor Simeon.

Speaker 8 (01:08:15):
I have no idea.

Speaker 10 (01:08:15):
This guy's been a starting quarterback in the National football
What do they have against them? Why is he on
the roster? So you would think he'd start next week?
But you're right, Dan, this quarterback thing for the Jets
has completely derailed them.

Speaker 8 (01:08:26):
It's a shame.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
Yeah, Adam, I don't even think any of those quarterbacks
would have would have would have a chance to be
successful anyway behind that offensive line and that zero creativity
that they have on on offense that's showing up. So
I don't even I agree. Trevior Simeon's probably did more talented,
but I don't think it really matters at this point.

Speaker 8 (01:08:45):
Probably not.

Speaker 10 (01:08:46):
I know, it's it's it's I just feel bad because
they were so excited to have Rogers and it's been
an absolute nightmare and a train wreck now that now
they're four and eight, and yeah, when when you have
eight losses in the AFC and the NFC that have
a chat shot but not certainly in the opsde I.

Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
Do just want to point one thing out and then
we'll let you go, Adam and enjoy the rest of
this game. If Joe Flacco can come off the street
and now lead the Browns, is there maybe trying to
take the lead against the Rams here? Why wasn't he
back with the Jets. I reported it that they were
not interested, believe or not. I was stun when I
got pretty good intel that. It was actually the first

(01:09:23):
question I had for people close the situation. They wanted
they were steadfast on having Zach Wilson be their quarterback.
They want to get an evaluation and wanted to see
what he can do. Now that the Chiefs game was
his best game. He was really really good game, a
great chance to win to the fumble late. But it's
been downhill since then. But I agree, I saw they're
not interested, and I'll leave it at that. Oh well,

(01:09:45):
the the Browns were interested, Yeah, Browns are at least
reaping the benefits, at least for this game right now,
not looking too bad. They're going to have to settle
for a field goal. Adam Kaplan, We appreciate the time.
Can't wait to talk to you next week. Thanks, thank you, Adam,
Thank you, The Birds Podcast, Pro Football Network, and so
much more at Kaplan NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
He's Carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):

the brown slot that they maybe drew a flag on
their third and goal, but it was offensive pass interference,
so they're going to have to settle for three for
that and so much more. Let's go to the news desk.
Manzi Blanios is here to give us the update on

(01:10:27):
what's happening in this late window and what happened earlier today.
What's going on, Manzi?

Speaker 6 (01:10:31):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (01:10:32):
The field goal was good, so it's a tie game
in La between the Browns and the Rams are tied
at thirteen with about five minutes left in the third quarter.
In case you missed, a wide receiver Pukunakua questionable to
return with the rib injury. Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper
has been ruled out with a concussion for this game.

Speaker 6 (01:10:49):
The Buccaneers have scored another touchdown. I feel like it's
always like this with Mike Evans.

Speaker 7 (01:10:52):
It's like one pass seventy five yards and a touchdown
minutes always like that.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
The Bangers had the lead for like eight second.

Speaker 6 (01:11:00):
They did yeah, because it was a seventy.

Speaker 7 (01:11:02):
Five yard pass, that one for a touchdown, Like, it's
just nuts.

Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
It's always with Mike Evans. He has five.

Speaker 7 (01:11:07):
Receptions, one hundred and forty four yards and a touchdown
in saying Baker Mayfield one hundred and eighty eight yards
that touchdown.

Speaker 6 (01:11:14):
He has don one interception as well.

Speaker 7 (01:11:16):
So the Bucks beating the Panthers fourteen to ten early
in the fourth quarter, and the Bucks currently have the ball.

Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
The forty nine ers are just on a roll.

Speaker 7 (01:11:24):
Deebo Samuel shakes off a tackle, goes in for the touchdown,
and they're up twenty eight to thirteen. A lot of
emotions in this game, a lot of little fights happening.
Let's say just leave it at that in between plays,
but twenty eight thirteen is a score three minutes left
in the third quarter.

Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
I've got a little news and other sports. How about
golf for you.

Speaker 7 (01:11:46):
Saf Scheffler won the Hero World Challenge, ending had twenty
under part overall, Tiger Woods ended in eighteenth place out
of twenty, but he was even for the tournament.

Speaker 6 (01:11:57):
That's good for him.

Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
Rose, I'll take yes absolutely back.

Speaker 6 (01:12:01):
In a group exactly.

Speaker 7 (01:12:02):
Have about a little Major League Baseball news for you, because,
according to John Palmer Rossi, who is a regular here
at Fox Sports Radio show, Hey Otani is likely to
decide on.

Speaker 6 (01:12:11):
A team within the next week. Don don't dum.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
You go into the big City, the big lights.

Speaker 5 (01:12:27):
Ready.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
They were one of the five teams that we believe
as interested. Correct, Dodgers, Angels, blue Jays were in there.

Speaker 6 (01:12:34):
Blue Jays are.

Speaker 7 (01:12:34):
In there, but apparently Blue Jays are really in on
Juan Soto too, and so they don't They're like, they're
not gonna get both.

Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
It's gonna be you know. So they're apparently very very
much in on Juan Soda.

Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
Giants had some interest as well.

Speaker 6 (01:12:46):
Giants had some just as well, So we'll see.

Speaker 7 (01:12:49):
I feel like we're all going to be just refreshing
our Twitter for this week to see what happens with
Showhai Show.

Speaker 6 (01:12:54):
Hey, back to you guys, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
Very much, Monci. In the college football playoffs, oh yeah, college.

Speaker 7 (01:13:02):
Football playoff, I mean, if you haven't heard, because it
was such a commotion all morning, Michigan in at number one,
is going to face Alabama at number four. Did you
guys see Michigan's reaction? It was they weren't super happy,
luke warm, a little bit lukewarm.

Speaker 6 (01:13:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:13:19):
And then number two Washington is going to face number
three Texas. Florida came in at number five, Georgia came
in at number six.

Speaker 6 (01:13:26):
Florida State has been trending really all day.

Speaker 7 (01:13:29):
I don't know if you saw what quarterback Jordan Travis tweeted.

Speaker 6 (01:13:32):
I'll give you just the small one, but he basically.

Speaker 7 (01:13:34):
Said, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season,
so y'all could see that this team is much more
than the quarterback.

Speaker 6 (01:13:41):
I thought results matter. Oh wow, yeah, that's just a piece. Yeah,
but it's like it's so I mean, what do you
say to that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
I was talking to Dan earlier. It's hard for me
to fathom that they're not in. I understand, yeah, I
understand it, but it's it's tough when you go out
there and win thirteen games and what's the at the point,
And like if you look at the wins against the
ranked teams, they stack up there.

Speaker 6 (01:14:05):
And that's what he said.

Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
This roster matches up across any team in those top
four rankings.

Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Here's here's a little history, and it was almost twenty
years ago Auburn was undefeated, an SEC team undefeated, and
they were left out because it was USC and Oklahoma
and that's who everybody wanted to see and Auburn was
the one left out of the cold. So there was
a time when the SEC was left out about twenty

(01:14:32):
years ago. It would not be Okay and Kerrie and
is going to have to get an allotment of about
thirty tickets to the Holiday Bowl, you know, a bunch
of USC.

Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
I was about to get to that day. And that
hurt me the most because I wanted Florida State to
be in the in the CFP, and that means that
my Louisville Cardinals would have been in the Orange Bowl
and it's a totally different vibe. I mean, it's already
a successful season for us at Louisville, but Orange Bowl
holiday is not the same ring.

Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
So I save yourself on some travel. Thanks WATSI. She'll
be back in a sec with some fantasy numbers. They're
nearing the end of the third quarter, as she said
in La Rams and Browns tied up at thirteen nine.
Ers have the football again in Philly and the Buccaneers
extending their lead now over the Carolina Panthers. Is Chris
Godwin got into the end so nineteen yard touchdown run

(01:15:24):
extra point is good. So the Buccaneers up on Carolina
twenty one to ten. He's carry road. Tom Dampier rely
from the Tirek dot Com studios. Look at some fantasy
numbers next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (01:15:35):
First and ten Niners in the Philly forty eight party
looks lap now Middle throws caught Brooke and tackle by Deebo.
Samuel runs for it first Top thirty twenty fifteen ten
five touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:15:50):
You said, Francisco, it's been all Miners from the start
of the second quarter. On canb Are in the forty
nine Ers Radio Network Francisco. Facing a fourth and one
from the Eagles thirty five yard line. They are going
for it up fifteen early in the fourth quarter, and
the Niners were able to convert Christian McCaffrey getting the

(01:16:12):
yards needed. The Rams are in the end zone. Matthew
Stafford has hit to Marcus Robinson on a touchdown pass.
Extra point coming up, but with thirty nine seconds left
to go on the third quarter and the extra point
is good. Rams lead the Browns twenty to thirteen. Buccaneers
lead the Panthers twenty one to ten. One other note
to mention, Jalen Hurts is in the locker room for Philadelphia.

(01:16:33):
So don't know the extent of the injuries or why
Jalen Hurts is in the locker room at this point,
But obviously the Eagles don't have the ball right now,
so we don't know if he would be in the
game once the Egles do get the football back.

Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
It looks like he got a little bit sacking up
on that last third down run he tried to convert.
He came up two yards short, but he got a
hit pretty good, and yeah, so him going to the
locker room right here, is probably just because Eary he
did get up and didn't look like it was a
serious injury. But we'll see once we once we receive news,
we're gonna take a look at some fantasy numbers. Is

(01:17:08):
where a live from the tirec dot Com studios will
do that right now with Moncy Bilanio's.

Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
Fantasy hits.

Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
And missus Moncey. We got some hits, We got some missus.

Speaker 6 (01:17:21):
Yeah, we have some misses. Remember I mentioned the Chargers
beat the Patriots six.

Speaker 7 (01:17:25):
Zero, So if you played either of those quarterbacks Justin
Herbert or Bailey Zappy, no, neither of them threw a touchdown.

Speaker 6 (01:17:32):
Justin Herbert just two hundred and twelve yards, that's it.

Speaker 7 (01:17:35):
Bailey Zappy one hundred and forty one yards. Also, can
you Piket grinted he did get hurt. He just ended
with seventy yards if you had him starting for the Steelers.

Speaker 6 (01:17:44):
So no bueno. Back to the Chargers running backs, Austin.

Speaker 7 (01:17:48):
Eckler and did with eighteen yards four team carries in
eighteen yards.

Speaker 6 (01:17:52):
He had two receptions and nine yards.

Speaker 7 (01:17:54):
No bueno and Devin Singletary, which his fans online were
not happy a carries these six.

Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Yards, one catch four yards if you played Ramandre Stevenson
like I did. Who got hurt? Nine carries thirty nine yards.

Speaker 7 (01:18:07):
So wide receivers Drake London one reception eight yards if
you played him.

Speaker 6 (01:18:14):
Terry mclauren.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
I rry Terry for a different reason.

Speaker 6 (01:18:18):
Yes, zero catches, zero yards.

Speaker 7 (01:18:22):
And when they asked him, there's a video and they're like,
how do you do you feel like you know, like
this was a waste of a game for you.

Speaker 6 (01:18:27):
He's like, no, I ran a lot of cardio.

Speaker 7 (01:18:30):
That was his answer for zero catches, zero yards. Terry McLaurin,
all the rings in his Apple watch.

Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
Yeah, he did it all. He ran a lot of cardios.

Speaker 7 (01:18:45):
So no regrets, he says, no regrets, not even one
letter back eyes.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
The Dolphine had to run a lot today from the
end zone back to the sideline. After all, they are
they are used to it. The Panthers are set up,
They're going to be inside the red zone. DJ Shark
a big completion from Bryce Young so down eleven but
first in goal now with under six minutes to go

(01:19:13):
from the eight yard line. That was a fourth down
completion by Carolina to stay alive.

Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
So it throws like that that give you hope if you're.

Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
A Carolina Panthers fan, that maybe he could just get
some stability within the organization.

Speaker 1 (01:19:27):
Yeah. I mean when you have we have a guy
like Bryce and put in this situation with you know,
not a lot of talent. And we talked about it,
it's very rare for a quarterback, a young guy to
come in and uplift a team or elevate the people
around him. He just can't get it done yet. But yeah,
we're not gonna say he's not going to be the
guy that we think he is until a couple more

(01:19:49):
at least next year.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
George Reister is usually in the chair with me on
Sunday as we go back and forth on this essay.

Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
Fair or unfair though? The success of c J.

Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
Stroud and the fact that the Panthers the trade to
trade up and get him is gonna stick with Bryce
Young throughout his career. Sorry, it's just the way things go.
I don't make the rules. But that happens, and that's
how you're judged and that's how you're compared, and that's
what's probably gonna have to happen for Bryce Young. Chub
Hubbards and the end zone. So the Panthers have pulled
closer Rams and Browns at the taiwe Niners running over

(01:20:18):
the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
It's all next on Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
Is the truth being revealed in Philadelphia? Sures heck feels
like it. Welcome in as we are broadcasting live from
the tirec dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (01:20:27):

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):

free road as a protection, and over ten thousand recommended

Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
Jalen's back on the sidelines. On the sidelines, but not
on the field. And I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
After talk of the Brotherly Shove being banned, the Eagles
just tried to run it with Marcus Mariota and yeah,
I don't think they got it. I don't think that
they got it.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
I don't either. Oh, they gave him a good, very good.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
If you banned and the Brotherly Shove and only Jalen
Hurts can run it, it means that you are Tiger
proofing Augusta National like they did when Tiger Woods won
the Masters in nineteen ninety seven. That is what is happening.
If the NFL were to ban it. Now, as carry mentioned,
Jalen Hurts is back on the sidelines. Now, is his

(01:21:20):
helmet on? Monty told you he was in the locker
room being evaluated for a concussion. He is now on
the field. I'll tell you what. They got a very
very generous spot. Yes I did, and Jalen Hurts is
coming back out on the field. But that also tell
you what we've learned a lot. Marcus Mariota got a
half yard. I don't ever remember a brotherly shove getting

(01:21:43):
a half yard or less. So that tells you again
on when you're talking about banning a play. By the way,
that's the only good thing that has happened for the
Eagles today.

Speaker 1 (01:21:52):
Like that, what we.

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
Just talked about right there and just told you about
at midfield shows you that not even the Eagles can
run it properly except if Jalen Hurts is your quarterback.
That is the secret, the secret and the sauce if
you will.

Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
But to get to the whole point of this, Philadelphia
jumps out to the six nothing lead, and it just
almost feels like the forty nine ers were just jumping
into a cold swimming pool took them a while to
get active, you know, to get acclimated to it. Yeah,
and now it's just time to have fun. And they've
dominated ever since. Thirty five to seven run, if you

(01:22:28):
will in basketball terms.

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
Yeah, almost like Dallas last night with a plan against
Stowe cac thunder. Dallas went on an unprecedented thirty to
zero run last night. So what they lost, they lost.
Why don't you bring that up? Dan, I was going
to lead them with the taste of the thirty zero run,
but no, San Francisco has been dominant since the first quarter.

(01:22:50):
We talked about it earlier as the broadcast started. You know,
you know, Eagles jumped out on them, but they didn't
put them away early. They instead of scoring two touchdowns,
they got two field goal and Sano San Francisco came
out with that next drive, scored a touchdown and having
looked back.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
So that's where we are now. And it's an opinion
that it's shared by some. I don't know if it's many,
but I am one of the s. I do feel
when San Francisco is playing their a game. If you
want to talk about a Tiger Woods golf reference, if
everybody was playing their a you know, plus game back
in the day, Tiger's still winning, and Tiger's probably winning
by ten shots. I feel the same way about the

(01:23:27):
forty nine ers that if everybody in the NFL is
playing their absolute best, they beat everybody. And I don't
know if they're playing their best here, but they look
pretty darn good in these last two quarters. I do
think some of that plays into it. I felt that
the forty nine ers had something to prove. It's not
an excuse at all for Philadelphia, not when you're down

(01:23:48):
twenty two points in a game. I felt that this
game meant more to the Niners. Again, I don't think
that is the reason for the outcome here, but it
is a statement being made. They usually don't think that
statements in the regular season happen, but statements being made
by the Niners today. Even though the Eagles are on
the move, there's only six thirty left and they're down

(01:24:08):
twenty two.

Speaker 1 (01:24:09):
Absolutely, I think the only team that would rival or
I would put in that same category as if they're
firing on all cylinders that the caveat I would add
to that. Another team that I would add to that
mix would be the Ravens. If they're playing at their optimal,
which they seem to never do. Yeah, you know, there's

(01:24:32):
always something in a game for them, right, But if
they're clicking on all cylinders, I would see them being
in the same category as San France.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
I want to bring up I'll talk about the Ravens
at a second, but I just wanted to let everybody know
the Browns have gotten into the end zone. Oh wow,
Joe Flacco is throwing a touchdown past the Harrison Bryant
and he misses the extra point and the astra point
from Dustin Hopkins is no good. So it's a twenty
to nineteen lead for the Rams over Cleveland, eight forty
nine to go. Panthers are down three, but they've got

(01:25:01):
the football. But they're facing a fourth and one in
Tampa against the Buccaneers, so it's twenty one to eighteen.
Panthers converted a big fourth down on the previous drive,
now have it fourth and one from their own forty
yard line. They do have two timeouts left, so if
they don't get it here, they could get a stop,
maybe get the football back, But obviously it would be

(01:25:22):
ideal for them to convert in this scenario, and Bryce
Young is trying to direct traffic and then ends up
getting picked off by Antoine Winfield Junior probably should have
batted it down. To be honest with you, I know, listen,
I'm talking to a former dv Oh, I'm catching that. Yeah,
they lost twenty yards of field position.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
That's okay, that's okay, No, you're I mean, yes, it
would probably be the smart thing to do. But you
know what's crazy? Then, in those right before halftime, in
those jump ball situations, the coach is always telling us
to bat it down. If I was back there, I'm
catching it jumping higher than anybody else, and so I'm
going to get.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
It, and you and your contract may have something in
that sense as Yeah. And then instead of Bryce Young
was heavily pressured, tried to force a ball on the
pressure to Adam Thielen, but when Field came over from
a safety position for the interception, he goes out facing
a second and goal, and they're probably going to get
a fresh set of downs because aj Brown appeared to
be tackled in the end zone. So again, there's only

(01:26:24):
five forty two left to go in the game. Niners
are up twenty two, but the Eagles are right now
in the red zone against San Francisco. Your point about
the Ravens, and I actually thought you were going to
say the Kansas City Chiefs because I don't think we've
seen the Chiefs at top the top of.

Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
Their game right now.

Speaker 2 (01:26:41):
Yeah, I don't know what the Ravens look like if
they were firing on all cylinders, Like, would it just
be Lamar running all over the place. Would it be
the three headed monster of Keaton Mitchell and Gus Edwards
and Justice Hill running the ball effectively and you know
Lamar taking his shots during that time?

Speaker 1 (01:27:00):
What is perfect football for We saw it, We saw
it once. We saw it against the Detroit Lions. Yeah,
you remember that game, Seahawk. So we've seen it, and
I think it can be different, and I think that's
the beauty of what Baltimore can can bring to the table.
It's similar to San Fran right. San fran is a
running team by identity. They run the ball, they run

(01:27:22):
the stretch, they run the play actions off of it.
I mean, very creative, a little bit more creative than
Baltimore's offense is, but the same kind of scheme. Baltimore
can run the ball really well. We know that Baltimore
can pass the ball really well. Now, if they make
it all merry together and look the way that San
Francisco usually makes it look, they're right there with them

(01:27:44):
as far as if they're clicking on all the cylinders,
because I think Baltimore's defense is better than San Francisco's defense,
and San Francisco defense is pretty good, but Baltimore's defense
is really good. So I just I think those are
the two teams, in my opinion, that will make it
to the Super Bowl. But you just when you just
trying to pick a back on your point of when
it's clicking on all cylinders, I think Baltimore is a

(01:28:05):
team that can be right there with them.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
The Legles have gotten to the end zone that you get,
did get the fresh set of downs incomplete on their
first attempt to aj Brown. The second attempt on second
down to Devonte Smith is good, so the Eagles are
in the end zone making it a little bit closer.
But again they're running out of time and they're gonna
have to get stops. It's thirty five to nineteen, so
down sixteen in Philadelphia here in this scenario, will go

(01:28:30):
for two with five point thirty three left. Egles do
have all three of their timeouts and again five thirty
three left in the game, so there is time. But
you're gonna have to play perfect football from here on out.
The other fact of the matter is in this scenario
is here you've got the forty nine Ers with their
three losses, and the two point conversion was batted down

(01:28:54):
Rams by the way up one. Now got a big
play from Puka Nakua. You heard Manci say that you
was quite able to return. He's been injured with everything
in this game, leg, shoulder, arm, wrist, and he ends
up coming back. There is a flag on the play,
so maybe this play will be coming back. But Brown's
Rams on the surface may not have been the best matchup.

(01:29:15):
But do you have a Cleveland team that's seven and four.
The Rams are in the thick of it in the
NFC wild Card at five and six, and they are
calling a holding penalty against the Rams. That will bring
this big play back. But compelling football in LA as well.
Home field advantage. That's where I actually just wanted to go,
and I'll just cut to the chase in all of this,
I don't think the forty nine Ers need home field

(01:29:38):
advantage to go to the Super Bowl. I don't think
that that is a requisite to host the NFC Championship Game.
I do think that Dallas does. I do think it
would help the Lions in that case. Philadelphia San Francisco
I don't think needed. Yeah, I think that they can
go anywhere, and so if it would, we're starting to

(01:30:00):
look at the standings because now the Cowboys and Eagles
will play next week, and you've got the NFC East
kind of hanging in the balance a little bit, uh,
you know, with with those squads. So it's just as
we look at how this plays out, San Francisco does
creep closer to Philadelphia, and who knows, in the end,
maybe atop the NFC and I'm sure they'd rather have

(01:30:21):
the buy rest up and be at home for those games.
But it goes back to the A plus game again,
where I don't think that it is as important for them.
You'd love to have it, but it's not a necessity
as it would be for Dallas and Detroit as we're
trying to separate those top teams.

Speaker 1 (01:30:37):
I one hundred percent agree with you. The forty nine
Ers and Eagles can definitely win in an anywhere Detroit.
They would definitely benefit by being home in Dallas. I'm gonna,
I'm gonna the one Dallas. I'm gonna, I'm gonna hold
reservations and judgment on them until the end of the

(01:30:58):
year because they trending in the right direction. And I
know we can always say the same old Cowboys, and
you know they haven't had the success since the nineties
and all the things that we can throw their way,
but there's a sense that I have with them that
they've really turned the corner here.

Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
I will say something though with them, and I don't
think that it's talked about as much because we are
so wrapped up into dak hype. By the way, Rashad
White a big run for the Buccaneers gets them the
first down. Carolina is down to just one time out,
so now Baker Mayfield is taking a knee. Buccaneer is
gonna win against Carolina. Twenty one to eighteen, gonna be

(01:31:35):
the final. So Tampa will improve to five and seven.
Carolina in NFL worst one and eleven. The one thing
with the Cowboys that we don't talk about is their
running game has been average. Tony Pollard still has not
gotten to the point of where you hope that he
would be, or that unit has not been to the

(01:31:56):
level of even last year when it was Pollard in
Ezekiel Elliott, I think that we are getting wrapped up
in the dack, into the stats, into the track meets
that they're running. That's why I also don't think it
would be great for Dallas to travel, because I think
they'd rather play the fast track at home on that surface.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
And I mean, you're right up until this point. Obviously
the stats lynn in that favor as well. Dallas plays
really well at home and they score really well at home.
On the road has been a different story. So yeah,
I mean the stats definitely are with you on that one.
And they played on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
But entering you know, these games today, Dallas had the
biggest point differential in the National Football League, outscoring their
opponents by one hundred and sixty eight points. All right,
So it's a final. Buccaneers top the Panthers twenty eighteen.
The Rams have punted it back to the Browns, so
Cleveland will now get the football Joe Flacco's opportunity to

(01:32:52):
be elite once again. They'll have it first inten at
their own twenty one yard line down one in La
so the Rams, while the Niners have the football now
first and fifteen for San Francisco. Five point thirty two
left to go in the game, but they are up sixteen.
He's Carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer. We are live from
thee Tireraq dot Com studios will bring you the end
of this matchup plus look ahead to tonight. And there

(01:33:15):
is a big, big happening at Lambell Field and it
has nothing to do with the Packers and Chiefs. That's
next year. On Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
He's Kerry Rhoades the NFL vat time, Dan Byer, here's
what's going on. The Rams have extended their lead against
the Browns Cooper Cup touchdown reception from Matthew Stafford to

(01:33:38):
put them up twenty six to nineteen. They kicked the
extra point, they did not go for two, so it's
an eight point game. Rams lead the Browns. Joe Flacco
has picked off on the previous possession. He'll have an
opportunity to redeem himself. Three forty eight left to go.
Rams up eight and in the game of the Days
turn out into the blowout of the day, the forty

(01:33:58):
nine Ers taking it out on the Philadelphia Eagles. It's
forty two to nineteen, four minutes to go, the Niners
scoring again on a Brock party pass to Deebo. Samuel
just looked like a little screen out to the right
or set out set up for San Francisco, and Deebo
took it to the house. And so now the Eagles

(01:34:20):
by themselves down twenty three points a. San Francisco is
having a much better time in Philadelphia than they did
last January.

Speaker 1 (01:34:29):
Yeah, forty nine Ers had a lot to prove. We
know that they were the ones that were aggressively talking
the most about this game and what happened in the
past and all the things. And so for them being
two games behind the Eagles, they needed to win today
to close the gap for that number one spot out
in the NFC. And they came out and played well,
out out physical Philly all day. And you talk about

(01:34:53):
the big plays that Phillies used used to make it
in San Francisco made a lot more. And that's that's
where that's that's where we are now forty two nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
And you're right about that Philadelphia did not get their
running game going, not that that was the end all
be all, but it's just been absent today for Philadelphia.
Jalen Hurts is their leading rushers seven carries for twenty yards.
And again, this is a team that held the Niners scoreless,
at least in the first fifteen minutes of the game.
What is interesting I think here, and you're right, is

(01:35:21):
I do think San Francisco is taking out their frustrations.
I wonder how much I don't want Eagles weren't quitting,
but Deebo Samuel's third touchdown of the day just seemed
a little easy. And it's a sixteen point game, so
you're telling yourself, all right, it's still a ballgame, carry right,
But it doesn't seem like it was a ballgame because

(01:35:42):
of how much the Niners have dominated over these last
forty minutes. And I do think that San Francisco is
trying to send a message right now. They're trying to
send a message from what happened last year. They're trying
to send a message from what was said this week
to prove that they should have been favorites, and I
think that this is probably the place to do it.
I felt that they were the team that had something
to prove Philadelphia can still. They went out, they're going

(01:36:05):
to have home field advantage in the NFC and they're
going to win the NFC East. And we'll get to
some of the ramifications for that. But that's why I
think that you see the Niners doing what they're doing
right now because they're trying to set you know, trying
to send a message not maybe about what could come,
but at least to what happened the last time around.

Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
Yeah, you want to create a sense of doubt, right.
I mean, the Eagles have gone on this season ten
and one, the only loss to my Dets.

Speaker 11 (01:36:30):
But again, the day that you were here, it's crazy,
but it's one of those things where, yeah, San Francisco,
what you talked about, had a lot to prove and
wanted to show these guys that what they said last
year in their press conferences after the NFC Championship game
last year was if we had our quarterback, we would
win this game.

Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
And so Prody's there, their quarterbacks there and this is
the score right now, and so now you create a
little doubt for Philly possibly and that start to creep in.
But again, it's more out San Francisco Philly will be fine.
I think Philly actually needed a loss like this as well,
because they have been winning games but not that impressive.
And so now with the loss like this, you can

(01:37:10):
get back to the drawing boards at Sirianni and get
these guys probably back on the right track.

Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
It just flashed brock Purty stats up on the screen,
and I don't know if you're driving around, you can't
see it. As DeVante Smith got lit up from Gary's reaction.
Excuse me, it was DeAndre Swift and we'll get this
some swift news in the second. But the fact is,
you know, the forty nine ers have brock Purty throwing

(01:37:35):
for three hundred and fourteen yards and four touchdowns today,
a passer rating of one forty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:37:40):
And would you have.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Called that after the first quarter stots no, no negative
negative yards, passing yards, yes, I mean it was as
an offense they had negative yards and Debod negative yards
and he didn't complete a pass and that uh first
the first couple of series. But yeah, to turn it
up three, that makes it even better. Three hundred yards
in two plus quarters for San Francisco. I wonder, I

(01:38:06):
wonder how fragile the Eagles are because they haven't played
great they haven't played great football. They played good football.
They were able to come back and they beat Buffalo
last week. And but I don't know how good Buffalo is.
I don't think that their stretch built up on them.
We talked about what a murderous stretch of games this

(01:38:27):
was for Philadelphia. I just think you're seeing right now
on who is a better team in the National Football League.
And I think the forty nine ers are just adding
a little salt and pepper to it in that wound
to try to make it sting a little bit more.
I don't know how Philadelphia rebounds from this though. This
is the you just had a team come in and

(01:38:49):
run over you and you put zero resistance. They just
put forty two points up on the board on you.
That is for a team that again hasn't played great
football throughout the Sea. I think this could be a
little tougher for Philadelphia, and I think we'll get a
real answer next Sunday night when they face Dallas.

Speaker 1 (01:39:06):
Yeah. I think again it is a wake up call
for Philly, and I think what it says really for
me when I've watched I've watched them play throughout this season,
even though they've been winning, I've still had my doubts
about them as a team, like what is their identity? Obviously,
they're good enough to win these games, and you know,
they have some plays in their arsenal that they can

(01:39:28):
go to and it usually works for them. But when
I get in a situation like this with the team
that's just as just as good, just as high powered,
and we see what the result is today, but also
I think we're going to see next week as well.
I'm gonna call Dallas right now beating Philly next week
to make that division to tie. So I mean, that's

(01:39:48):
what I feel about Philly, and you know, we see
this game right now.

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
If that was the case. A couple of things on
that number one. Dallas did beat Philadelphia last year in Dallas,
but Gardner Minshew was the quarterback. Jalen Hurts didn't play,
missed those Cup of games last year. Jalen Hurts left
this game being evaluated for a concussion but was able
to return, and the Eagles just turned it over on down.
So now the forty nine ers just need to run
out the clock. With two h seven left here, Egos

(01:40:12):
have two timeouts, but I'd be shocked if they used
either of them. The point about Dallas and Philadelphia standings wise,
because if Dallas were to beat Philadelphia next week, there
are top the standings in TI to top the standings
in the NFC East, they would have the tiebreaker to

(01:40:34):
determine between those two teams. Obviously as their head to
head matchup, which would be split. You then would go
with their division record, which each team would have one
loss at that point if they then all won out.

Speaker 1 (01:40:47):
Because the Egles have.

Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
A bunch of division games, and obviously we know that
the end of the season ends with playing division games,
the next tie breaker is not conference games. It is
common opponents, so you play the same opponents from a
different division each year and from each of the conferences,
So then you would take that record into play. It's
not just an overall conference record. The reason I bring

(01:41:10):
that up is that don't have the numbers in front
of me. Yeah, but the Egos loan loss was against
an AFC team, so that would so that would have
been a benefit for Philadelphia because it wasn't against the NFC.
But that tiebreaker is actually further down, so I know
it's getting into the Weeds. But I just know if
Cowboy fans are wondering, Hey, if we're tied at this point,

(01:41:30):
who goes where? After you get to the division, it's
your record against the common opponents, and then it goes
to conference.

Speaker 1 (01:41:39):
That's for with the division, and then we talk about
the top three. Right, we talked about the top four,
and I guess that three and four can can be
changed around a little bit. But San Francisco has destroyed
both of these teams. Yeah, you know what I mean.
So as a common common opponent, we talk about that,
we talk about San Francisco being the cream of the
crop when they play their best. They've shown that they've

(01:42:01):
beat Dallas handedly and then now now they're beating Philly Hendingley.
He's Carrier Oads. I'm dan Byer the Eagles, excuse me.
The Browns turned it over on down, So the Rams
have taken over. They now have the football approaching the
two minute warning in la as they are up eight
on Cleveland. So for the.

Speaker 2 (01:42:19):
Latest and what has happened earlier today, for the final
time on this Sunday, we go to Moncy Bolanos at
the news desk as she gives us the Latest Live
from the tirec dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (01:42:28):
What's happening, Moncy?

Speaker 6 (01:42:29):
I need this game to end now. I need it
to why fantasy purposes? Ricky Herrera, I don't know if
he's still here.

Speaker 7 (01:42:39):
I'm playing against him and he has Kien Williams and
I needed and Cooper Cup. You need to just stop
just to end the game. You've won, kneel it out,
come on?

Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
Can I tell you this? An hour ago? And my
mom knows that I'm doing the show. She's probably listening.
She texts me before and she says, Taylor Swift's airpla
plane left at four twenty one Central time on the
way to Green Bay. Should be exciting.

Speaker 6 (01:43:06):
Oh thanks mom.

Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
And she's at lambole That was that?

Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
Taylor Swift is at lambeau Field all right, going to
take into lights game.

Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Who do you think leaked that information?

Speaker 6 (01:43:18):
Taylor swt Taylor's actually don't think it's.

Speaker 1 (01:43:21):
I think the Shield did it in some way, right.

Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
Of course, of course.

Speaker 9 (01:43:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:43:26):
I mean I think isn't it public knowledge? Like for
flights to find.

Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
That information is like her, You know, my mom found
out about it. So I love my mom, but I
don't think she's got a you know, a detective and
I'm sure yeah, yeah, Pi, Mom, Mom, Pi, that should
be a new show. Mom is on Speed now with
Taylor with the swift Mom.

Speaker 7 (01:43:49):
Don't moms don't need the regular type of detective, you know, technology.

Speaker 6 (01:43:54):
They're they're sneaky. They know what to do. Moms know
what to do. Yes, they really do, Yes, they do.

Speaker 7 (01:43:58):
All right, So did we mention we're up in any
of this game to end twenty seven to nineteen against
the Browns about a little over two minutes to go,
and it has been really all forty nine ers since
the second quarter. They've dominated the Eagles in Philadelphia forty
two to nineteen. Just a minute to go. No Brock
Party in the game anymore, which would have helped me,
but he ended up throwing for three hundred and fourteen
yards and four touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey's seventeen carries ninety three

(01:44:21):
yards and one touchdown. The other game that just finished
not too long ago was the Buccaneers, who beat the
Panthers twenty one to eighteen. Mike Evans has now surpassed
one thousand receiving yards for the tenth straight season. That's
every single season of his NFL career.

Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
There's a reason I'm applotting. There's a reason I'm applauding
that's pretty And the reason I'm applauding is this is
I kind of poop pooed this stat because this was
brought up at the start of the year that he
could have this record to do what he's doing now
with the variety of different quarterbacks that he's had. And
I just think that we think of Mike Evans as
the big guy and he's but kudos to Mike Evans, yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:45:04):
Because he's also not I mean, he's a name.

Speaker 7 (01:45:06):
Out there, but he's not the first name you hear
when it comes to you know, these accolades, it's not
the first one you're gonna hear.

Speaker 6 (01:45:13):
So good for you, Mike Evans.

Speaker 7 (01:45:16):
Yes, the games that ended earlier today, we'll start with
the Dolphins, who are now nine to three. They dominated
the Commanders forty five to fifteen. The Chargers now five
and seven. They beat the Patriots six zero, Patriots fall
to two and ten the Texans. They held on to
beat the Broncos twenty two to seventeen. Russell Wilson through
an interception last minute in the end zone. That's how

(01:45:36):
the Texans held on to win, but their wide receiver
Tank Dell has a fractured fibula and is likely headed
to ir The Lions are now nine and three as well.
They defeated the Saints thirty three to twenty eight, while
New Orleans falls to five and seven. The Falcons Falcans.
The Falcons are six and six now they top the
Jets thirteen to eight. The Jets fall to four and eight.

(01:45:57):
The Colts defeated the Titans thirty one to twenty eight
in oh ten, so Indy improves to six and five.
Tennessee falls to four and seven, and the Cardinals beat
the Steelers twenty four to ten. Cardinals three and ten
for the season. The Steelers fall to seven and five.
But hey, they're still in it. They're still in it. Shockingly,
just the Steelers look messy but good. It's weird they're

(01:46:20):
not in it, but right now with their I.

Speaker 1 (01:46:23):
Know the record, yes, but they're not in.

Speaker 6 (01:46:25):
But they're not. They shouldn't be their messy.

Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
If there was a committee, they would not be in Exactly,
they on the outside looking in.

Speaker 7 (01:46:33):
Imagine if there was a committee in the NFL. Speaking
of committees, in case you missed it, College football playoff
field Number one Michigan will face number four Alabama, Number
two Washington will face number three Texas, not in number
five Florida and number six Georgia.

Speaker 1 (01:46:48):
Back to you guys, thank you very much. Jess Monty,
what jesz? What do you think would have happened on
all platforms? Yes, the outrage right already of the college
football playoff. I don't know if it's that much of
now raised, but the fact that what if they would
have put Georgia at five in Florida State at six?
What do you you know?

Speaker 2 (01:47:09):
Yeah, yeah, that would have been a diss But I
think we're already starting to get over it. As I said,
I think by tomorrow there'll be a day of it
and then we'll be like, oh, look at these great
matchups that we've gotten college football. I think that's what's
gonna end up happening. All right, here's the scenario. Okay,
and again AJ Brown and I get it. You know,
the Eagles are just dominated. I mean, I just I

(01:47:31):
can never get over a J. Brown pouting after they
beat the Giants by like twenty one points in the
playoff game, because he didn't get the football. But here
they were just dominated by the forty nine ers and
he's chopping it up with Deebo Samuel. I know it
may be nitpicking, but that sort of stuff bothers me.
It just does. Like, you know, you just got your

(01:47:51):
butts kicked, and what was the most anticipated game of
the season. I understand you got buddies and Carrie you
talk about it more than I could, but just the
fact of you know, in your response and and by
the way, AJ Brown had a great game, didn't get
to the end zone.

Speaker 1 (01:48:04):
It got over one hundred yards and yeah, I don't
know that stuff. Just well you voice, you just answered
her right there, Dan, he's still personally had one hundred yards,
so he's he's fine. Yeah, but yeah, we talked. I
think we actually talked about this. It was one of
those situations where hopefully he learned from it and he
grew from it. So like giving given those guys some

(01:48:26):
grace on learning and growing in the moments, because a
lot of times, you know, receivers are divas and they
want to make the big plays for their teams to win.
And I think you learned from a situation like that,
So hopefully he's learned from it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:39):
So the Rams touchdown that we thought they scored with
Karen Williams has now been reversed. He's down at the
inch yard line, but it's second down in goal the
brownstead of any timeouts. The Rams are up eight. Do
you just take a knee or do you give it
to Karen Williams to cash in?

Speaker 1 (01:48:57):
You should take a knee. But they're not there.

Speaker 2 (01:49:01):
And Manzi's TV, by the way, is way ahead of
ours in our studio. Oh wait, oh, we got it
right there there it is. Oh, it's switched over. So
Karen Williams did get into the end zone. It is
I'm looking at the wrong direction, but you know, one
eight seconds ahead of another. I was looking at the
at the wrong one. But Karen Williams ends up getting
into the end zone. Good for him, Good for him.

(01:49:23):
And I needed it. I need you need to totally
being selfish and being selfish and all of the guys.

Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
I wish, I wish you guys could see this right now.
But disdaining through one window and right beside me the celebration.

Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
Now I know why he didn't react to me saying that.
I'm not going to say I need him in there.
I need him in there.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
And then he sets me up with that with what
would I do? I take a knee.

Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
If I would have known it was on that screen,
I wouldn't even have brought it all. I'll tell you what,
I got some tips for Taylor Swift.

Speaker 7 (01:49:56):
What are your tips for Taste Swift Swift shirts?

Speaker 1 (01:49:59):
All right? You guys, nice? Nice, nice.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
So as Carrie, you may not know this some MONSI
I don't know if you know this. I am a
Seahawks fan. But I did grow up in Wisconsin and
was fortunate enough as a kid to go to about
one Packer game a year. So in this was nineteen
ninety three December. They're playing the Raiders. This the Green
Bay Packers are. But I'm in high school. Okay, I'm cool.

(01:50:25):
You know, I'm a junior in high school. You know
it's my time to shine, yes, all right? And so
when you have a pair of Larry Johnson Converse, okay,
you don't need to wear snow boots or winter boots.
I'm in high school. I'm cool, you know what. I'm
just gonna wear a bunch of you know, pairs of socks.

Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:50:44):
Yeah, I got a you know, a winter coat on
and some you know, some snow pants to be warm.
But I'm wearing my Larry Johnson cons I don't care
what you're saying. When your feet are on concrete in
that cold weather where it's zero at any extended length
amount of time, it gets cold really quick. Yes, I

(01:51:05):
wanted to leave after the first quarter because my feet
were numb. So my advice to Taylor Swift is, not
only will they tell you to dress in layers because
it's going to be chilly, but please wear boots. It's
the only thing that can help you. You think I'll
move my feet around, I'm doing this and that you
need to have boots. I know she's going to be
in the booth, but when it's cold, yeah, you need

(01:51:25):
to wear you need to wear boots.

Speaker 1 (01:51:27):
Heater that part or even with the even with the
boots and the actual layers of socks. There are little
tricks that we have as players that we we do
add to the mix. So you remember the old school
cayenne pepper. Yeah, yeah, you put that in between the
layers of the socks and it keeps it warm and
heats it up a little bit. So give you a
little trick. There season those toes and it'll be good.

Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
Oh yeah, Could I use packets of red pepper from
pizza hut?

Speaker 1 (01:51:53):
Would that work? Or would that not be sufficient? You
may have lime in biting at your feet? Smells the
smell the aroma, God knows, I got enough of them
in my drawer at home.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
When am I ever going to use sixty eight packets
of crushed red pepper from various pizza joints?

Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
Someone? Now, I wonder maybe you should try it and see.
Maybe maybit's on par with that? Uh? She Brittany Mahomes
also at this game as.

Speaker 6 (01:52:17):
Well, obviously, does she miss Any?

Speaker 1 (01:52:21):
I don't think.

Speaker 6 (01:52:21):
I don't think. Yeah, I always see her pictures.

Speaker 1 (01:52:24):
Did you like going to Green Bay? Did you hate it?
Because you the prestige? I wanted to go. I was happy. Sure,
I was playing against one of my one of my
idols at the time, Brett Brett Fahr, because I played
quarterback and you know, growing up and all that. But
to play against him, to play at lambeau Field obviously
was a crazy experience. But it was cold, yes, I

(01:52:45):
mean the game we played, it was late in the
season and it was negative for and snowing and we
beat Yeah, we beat him pretty well. But it was
and I picked off Brett too, which is fun and
it was good. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
I always anybody asked me, I say, go in September.
You don't have to deal with the cold. Even late September.
Early September actually can still be a little hot. Some
of the summer hangs. It can be pretty Yeah, but yeah,
you get that full football feel in late September. Taylor
Swift's gonna get hers opportunity on December third, Manzi, I
have a great rest of your Sunday too. I will
talk to you in week fourteen. He's carry Roads.

Speaker 1 (01:53:18):
I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
The Browns still have the football down fifteen thirty four
to nineteen against the Rams, minute twenty eight to go.

of the season. It's good news for the Cowboys, good
news for San Francisco to pull obviously get the win

(01:58:35):
and pull closer to the top spot.

Speaker 1 (01:58:37):
In the NFC.

Speaker 2 (01:58:38):
One thing to note though, specifically with Dallas setting up
that huge matchup with Philadelphia next week, Dallas still us
to go to Buffalo and Miami on the season. The
Eagles we talked about, they're tough stretch after Dallas, they're
out of it. They're kind of through the woods. They
do have Seattle, but they've got two matchups against the
Giants coming up, so they're kind of through it. So
in the Silver Linings playbook for the Eagles, pun intended,

(01:59:03):
Dallas does.

Speaker 1 (01:59:03):
Have a bit of a tougher schedule down the stretch, Yes,
but I think I think it matters matters more how
you're playing going into those games. And so I mean,
if Dallas can continue at the rate they're planning right now,
when you know the momentum that they have, I think
they'll still be fine. Buffalo isn't the team that I'm
too scared of at this moment. Miami obviously is a threat,

(01:59:24):
but Buffalo is one of those teams that's been a
disappointment for me.

Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
Chiefs a five and a half point favorite tonight against
Green Bay. Did they get right last week against the
Raiders and continue it or is the pack back tonight?

Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
Carry Roads. Actually, I'm intrigued by this game a little bit.
The pack the pack The Packers are planning well. I
think Kenna City is going to win this game, but
the Packers is going to keep it, keep it interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
Packers running game has been non existent and no Aaron Jones.
Tonight will see if AJ Dillon can pick up the load.
I don't think he does. I like the Chiefs even
in the cold weather weather in Kansas City to cover tonight,
So hit Carry up at Carry twenty five Roads. You
can find me at dan Byer on Fox. That's for
