Day in college football, mind see, and coming up in
a couple of hours, the ACCED Championship game longtime acc
power clips and taking on the new kids in the block,
the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University. That game's gonna kick
(00:45):
off at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina,
and a man that will be there, In fact, he's
gonna be leaving shortly for the stadium along with Doak Walker,
the greatest name in SMU football history, college Football Hall
of Fame or Pro Football Hall of Fame of the
legend himself, the great Eric Dickerson is joining us right
now now, Edie, I have a question right off the top.
(01:07):
I hear you were so confident before the season began
that SMU would be in this game. You already bought
tickets for the a SEC championship game.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
I like that. I like I wish I had been
that confident, Steve. I did think that we would at
least win nine games this year. I didn't say we'd
win the a SEC. I didn't know because I didn't
know who's out in the AEC this conference. But I'll
tell you what. I saw the football team last year
when they were eleven to one in the in the
I think America whatever conference they were in America West Conference,
(01:39):
and I saw the talent that we had. And we
haven't had talent, the talent like this in years. And
like I'm saying, we've got talent. I could tell the
difference from years past and a couple of like like
when the season started this coming season, I said, we
haven't we have even more talent. I think people are
underestimating SMU because we've been out of the mixed for
(02:00):
so long, I mean so long, and they just don't
know who we are, you know. And I've watched this
team a lot this year. They have a great offense,
they have a great coach, they have running back, they
have a running back. The guy that played receiver at
Miami didn't even play running back. He wanted to come
to Sam you so bad the coach. Coach lastly told him,
we don't have room in the running back room if
(02:21):
you want to go to I mean the receiver room.
If you want a running back, you move a running back.
He said, I played running back, and that is what
he did for Sean Smith, and he's showing why he
won the best in the country. We have, we have
all kinds of weapons. But like I said, I think
everyone is over underestimating us because we are SMU and
we haven't played a team. We never played Clinton, you
know ever, you know, especially when I played, We didn't
(02:43):
play c. Clinton was no good when I played anyway,
and we'd have beat him anyway when we played if
we played. So but I'm looking forward to this game tonight,
and like I said, very few people that's given us
a chance in this game. I don't know why I
watched this team all year with deep on defense, the
defensive line, and we have pass run shoots, we have
we have a good secondary. So we'll just see what happens.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Eric, So what do you think is going to be
the difference maker for SMU to beat Clemson.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Don't turn the ball over, don't try to ball. If
we don't turn the ball over this turn the ball once.
I've give them that. But if we don't turn the
ball over one time and we don't get a block
of tenent, I really think, well, I think we'll beat
them handily. I mean, that's how much talent they have
on this team. You know, on the West Coast, you
don't see us, and you play that much. I've been
to many I've been to several games. I've watched them.
I watched them every Saturday they play, so I know
(03:31):
how good they are. People don't know, I mean, and
I get it. It's like when we play people that
know how good we were with the Pony Express because
they wasn't all this in the medias that we have,
you know, HBO, I mean of ESPN and all the
national television. But this is a very good football team,
a well coached team, and I think the thing that
that I like the most about it, it reminds me
of the old teams that we played on. They're a
(03:52):
very close knit football team. I asked coach lastly, how
did you get all these guys in Miami. He's eric.
He said, some of the guys in Miami, they want
to move, they want to come, They wanted to want
a change. The scene of it be saying what happened
is some guys there say, you know, we're not happy here.
He say, where they may calls, they may come over here.
We love it over here in Dallas, Texas. And that
was the difference.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
You know, you and I have known each other for
a lot of years, so I suffered through a lot
of really bad years with you in SMU. Let's put
some of that in perspective. I remember when June Jones,
friend of ours, became the head coach. He was able
to leave briefly turn things around at least start getting
a few winning seasons, and then things bottomed out again.
Twenty fourteen and twenty fifteen, this team was a combined
(04:36):
three and twenty one. But let's go back to your
days with the Pony Express. Ron Meyer put that whole
thing together. You guys became a superpower, and obviously the
death penalty and trying to recover from that. You have
never wavered in your support for your university. You have
done everything possible and I know this firsthand to try
(04:56):
to resurrect this program. So for you, and I would
imagine you're giving me on the side for this game to
be at this eighty C championship game after all these years.
On a personal level, what does that mean for you?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
E Oh Steve Man, it means the world to me. Man,
when I tell you it means the world, it really does,
because I mean, I've been waiting for this. I mean
we have been down for so long. Like June tried
to bring us back. But you know what, they were
never committed, and I mean committed to football. That's what
it takes. It takes a true commitment. When Ron Meyer
(05:30):
came to SMU, they were committed. He was committed. SMU
never got me had I didn't know who SMU was.
I never heard SMU. I want to go to Oklahoma USC.
That's why I want to go to college. But my
great aunt, I won't forget what she said to me.
She said, Er, she said, look, USC and Oklahoma they
have their guys, he said, they have their great players.
Say go to a school like SMU, he say, and
(05:52):
you can start something and they'll be talking about you forever.
I never forgot her saying that to me, and that's
what we are right now, Steve. I mean, this means
so much to me. I mean I told my best
friend and we're still best friend. Charles Drayton. We played
University of Texas As we beat them in Austin my
sophomore year and there was a bunch of old guys
came in the locker room. They were crying. They were
(06:13):
on walkers and they said, we've been waiting forty years
today I'll never forget they were crying. I'm like, and
I told I looked at him, I said, man, I
hope that's never us. And sure enough, Steve, here we are.
I've been waiting forty years for this.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
It's unbelievably Eric.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Before we let you go, we cannot not ask you
about Saquon Barkley possibly breaking your NFL record of twenty
one yards graandents in sixteen games.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
But what are your feelings on that?
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Well, Steve, you know me. You know one thing about
me is do I wanted to break my record? Absolutely not.
That's not right after No, if he breaks any breaks it.
I've always said this, and I've always said this in
Deed too, I said, oh JD. In fourteen games.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
Yep, I did it.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I did it in fifteen with one extra game to play.
That's how I got to twenty one oh five. That
was my favorite player. That's why I played running back.
But Sekwon Barski is a great player. You know. I'm
glad he's with a team that he's happy with because
when he got drafted to the New York Giants, I
kept saying he'll never reach his potential there never because
said that team. They had a terrible offensive line, no quarterback.
(07:23):
I said, she's never going to reach his potential. Now
you know, and I see I don't know him. I
met him once real briefly. And when I see it
in the interviews, you say, I'm having fun. And that's
what it's all about. When you love the sport that
you played, football, you love it. You play because you
love it. He's loving it again, he's playing great. But
do I wanted to break my record? Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Well, it's been forty years. Can you believe that? Where's
the dog? Forty years? But you've always said this, But
you've always said this. I'm sure you're almost surprised that
it's lasted forty years, the record, But you say no
one's ever going to break eighteen oh eight. That's your
record's record that'll never be broken.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
That's the one I say that would last the longest
is my rookie rush, my rookie rushing records because in
eighteen hundred yards a rookie. You know, they don't build
up a team around a rookie. I mean, I didn't
plan to build an office around me, but it just
happened to work out that way. But like I say,
I'm proud of both of those records, and if one
of them goals, it is what it is. But you know,
I was always hoping if my son played football, and
(08:23):
I say he's gonna play pro, I hope, but he
would break my record one day.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
All right, Well we'll wait for that down the road.
Today you focus on this ac CEED Championship game against Clemson. E.
I love you guys. You know this, man, I'm so
excited for you. I know what you've been through all
these years to try to get this SMU football program
back on the map. But they win today. Man, you're
going to get a first round by and I know
you're gonna be every one of those playoff games for SMUs.
(08:48):
That's a guarantee most.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Definitely be here. They get that if they get this winning.
Nice stee, Thanks man, I appreciate it. Ken, Denice, I said,
hello and the kids, Man, I will love you, love you.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Too, all right, talk to you later. Enjoy the game.
We'll be looking for you. That's uh, that's the great
Eric Dickerson who obviously he and I have been friends
for many many years. And you know SMU got the
death penalty. Yeah, and it was almost by association that
Eric was left out of the College Football Hall of
Fame for years. He finally got the call in twenty twenty,
(09:19):
had to wait another year because COVID and then I
went there in Vegas. Denise and I went to support
our dear friend there and it was very exciting for him.
But they had completely bought him out at SMU, you know,
and they were, you know, in the old Southwest Conference.
They got shuttled to these minor conferences and to go
into the ACC in their first year and then play
(09:41):
one of the old time ACC powers, Clemson, who a
lot of people think are going to ultimately come out
with a win. Today, I will say this and won't
be fair because SMU comes in at eleven and one.
But if they want to be in the playoff, they
have to win this game.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I don't think they're going to get in that large bid.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
No, Yeah, it's this whole twelve team playoff is for
this from fair.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Yeah, it really is.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
I think they're realizing that as we get here, because
even I'm wondering who's actually going to get an.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
At large bid. Well, I'll tell you right now, Dominations.
Here's here's how it looks right now, because Miami got
leapfrog by Alabama. Okay, and they pretty much said since
neither Alabama or Miami's playing this week, there's not going
to be any change. So you're ultimately going to end
up with twelve schools, four out of the Big Ten,
(10:32):
four out of the SEC, the ACCED champion, the Big
Twelve champion, the Group of Six champion, Boise State and
Notre Dame and Notre Dame, and those are your twelve schools.
That's what's going to be the makeup of this college
football playoff. All right, we'll have much more on that.
We got all these games going on, by the way,
(10:52):
updating you halftime, boy, this is an exciting game, right
not Texas leading Georgia six to three.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's been fine. I was watching it on the couch.
It couldn't get up.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Is this the showcase for a conference that's supposedly so powerful? Yes,
they deserve Shore I mean schools into the playoff.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
I don't know about that. I don't know about that.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
But this game has been really fun. I love a
three six score, if I'm being honest with you.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
Well that's all we got right now. And then again
coming up, we mentioned Clemson and SMU and the ACC
Championship game, and of course Penn State Oregon in the
Big Ten Championship game. We're going to get you all
set for all these great college football games. On the
other side, of course, we're going to talk some NFL.

Steve Harbin, montziblanas here Fox Football Saturday. We're coming live
from the tire Rack dot com studios again. Texas leading
Georgia six to three. Carson Beck, the Georgia quarterback, is
out for the rest of the game and Georgia just scored,
so watching for the extra point right now. The extra
(12:45):
point is good and Georgia now is taking a ten
to six lead over Texas ten and a half minutes
ago in the third quarter of that SEC championship game.
All right, Week fourteen? Can you believe it? Week fourteen?
This is the only problem with the football season on
seat It's just too short. But Week fourteen of the
NFL season already underway with that big Lions win over
(13:07):
the Packers. Joining us right now is our NFL insider
for Fox Sports, Adam Kaplan at all. I want to
talk about the NFC West right now. Sure, So you
got the forty nine Ers hosting the Bears, you got
the Rams hosting the Bills, and they have the Seahawks
at least temporarily with a one game lead in this division,
on the road against their division rival, the Arizona Cardinals,
(13:27):
who still have to be smarting after losing that game
to Minnesota last week. So how do you think ultimately
this is all going to play out in the NFC West?
Speaker 5 (13:37):
All right?
Speaker 7 (13:37):
So Seattle's defense, Steve has been phenomenal lately. After very
slow start, their defense is playing lights out. They're closing games. Well,
now they're not gonna have Keath Walker. They're starting running
back Zach Charmony will fill in as Walker was down
great earlier today.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
So that's concerning.
Speaker 7 (13:52):
But if you look at the schedules, you look at
the way if they're playing, I put Seattle one. The
Niners are still hanging in there. They have a game
tomorrow they should win. I'm like most people, I didn't
see this. I know they've had a lot of injuries.
I get that, but that doesn't make up for the
fact that they're five and seven. They're way worse than Look,
you can't blame everything on injuries.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
I mean it's a factor, I get it. But there's
been something missing from this football team this season.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Adam.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
I'll be in Arizona for the Seahawks Cardinals game tomorrow.
I have a friend who's a big Seahawks fan.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Who do you think has the edge?
Speaker 7 (14:26):
Well, I'm a little concerned. Steve brought up the Minnesota game.
They couldn't. Arizona had no passing game. I mean, they
just I know, Minnesota is a great defense, Arizona just couldn't.
Kyler Murray struggled, they got after him. He just they
lacked a big play in that game. I'm just so
impressed with the way Seattle's turned their defense around, because
(14:48):
it was they were not playing well defensively for a while.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
And if you really look the way.
Speaker 7 (14:54):
That the Seahawks are, you want to be playing your
best ball in December, right, you know, if you're going
to make a run here, which they are. They've now
won three in a row, and they handled by the
way they handled the Cardinals two weeks ago.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
The Cardinals do not score a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Yeah, so I'm just impressed.
Speaker 7 (15:10):
And you know what, they had a bad first half
at the Jets last week. Shut the Jets offense down.
The Jets got off to the big, big start. They
didn't scored point in the second half. So they're really
doing well right now. This is the thing about this division.
It's there for the taking. Now. If you want to
extrap a little bit more and look at the NFC,
they're not as good as Detroit of Philly, like they're not.
(15:31):
They're gonna now they might wind up being the three
seat if they win it. And the team that is
just I'm shocked. I'm like most people, and I didn't
think the Vikings would be a playoff team.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
And I don't think Sam Darnold was a guy.
Speaker 7 (15:44):
There's a lot of people's radars to be most improved
quarterback in the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
All right, let's talk about the Atlanta Falcons. About a
month ago, we were like, are the Falcons for real?
They were six and three. Now they lose three in
a row. But it was this last loss with Kirk
Cousins having arguably the worst performance by a quarterback this year.
It wasn't just throwing interceptions. I mean he was lobbing
passes that were being intercepted by the Chargers, who didn't
(16:10):
score an offensive point him the second half and still
came away with the victory. What is the status of
Kirk Cousins. If the Falcons lose on the road to
the Vikings, it could be a very real situation where
they're then trailing the Buccaneers. Is there any thought about
throwing Michael Pennix out there at some point? Where are
(16:30):
we with the Falcons?
Speaker 7 (16:31):
All right, Steve, See, here's the thing for the people
think like they'd bench Kirk Cousins. You have got to
understand and this is the difference between Derek Carr contract,
Jamas Jones contract and Kirk Cousins. Cousins twenty seven point
five million dollars salary next year is fully guaranteed. They're
not protecting themselves if they bench them that it would
not help them. By the way, the Bucks at six
(16:53):
and six, look, they've they have their own issues. They've
they've got some pretty significant injury problems on defense they've
been dealing with. They're no shoeing to win it now.
With Pennix, we have to understand that he is the
future quarterback. I don't get the feeling that they're willing
to go there yet. Now in three weeks when it
looks like if they start reeling off a bunch of
(17:15):
losses just because they know that if they're eliminated, of course,
go to the young quarterback. The problem with Cousins quarterback
contract is not everybody's gonna want that contract. A lot
of people think that, you know, if he gets benched,
maybe they'll look to trade him. Well, yeah, because they've
got a younger quarterback. Then you got the issues who
would want his contract. Remember, when you trade for a quarterback,
(17:36):
you want a guy that still shows he's got a
lot left. That game was alarming last week, Steve, you
nailed it. That was really bad. You know, It's one
of the things Jared Goff had his bad game of
five picks is somehow won Okay, this one. Some of
those interceptions were like shades of the Ald Kirk Cousins
years ago with the Vikers. I'm going many years ago
(17:56):
and he's been he was so good earlier this season.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah, that was bad, Adam.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
The Chiefs have literally been trying to lose and nobody
can beat them.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Can the Chargers pull off the upset.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I don't see it.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
You don't see it.
Speaker 7 (18:10):
No, JK. Dobbins being out. Yeah, their defense is phenomenal.
Speaker 5 (18:14):
I'm stunned.
Speaker 7 (18:14):
Jesse Minter, who Hardball brought over with him from Michigan.
He's done a great job of their defense. If you
looked at their scheme or really the talent, you go,
how are they doing this?
Speaker 8 (18:24):
Mm hm.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
They have this great scheme.
Speaker 7 (18:27):
A lot of the skis quarterbacks, so I'm sure what
they do with the football. But now Dobbin's their best
running back on injured reserve. It all starts with them
running the football. They can't run it. They're gonna have
trouble scoring tomorrow tomorrow night. Now you look at the Chiefs, yes,
they've been living dangerously. They've had a lot of lucky
plays happen, but they have a great defense and they
(18:48):
find ways. Who went down the Raider game. Ad O'Connell
was phenomenal last week and they played the Bucks tomorrow.
That's a quarterback to watch out for. He's a gunslinger.
That's really the really O'Connell. That scout's like that. I
remember talking to Scott's leading up to the dreamt last year.
That was a guy last week, not the guy who
beat the Chiefs last year through for otto hundred yards.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
All right, if the Eagles and the Lions were playing
this week on a neutral field, who would you pick.
Speaker 7 (19:13):
Eagles just because of the injury situation? Steve that the lot?
Now again, you said, now, right now, if you're talking
about early January, well let me I have to know
how many.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Of these guys are going to get back.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I think most of them are going to be back
for the Lions touch not, but I mean the rest
of their interior line probably'll be.
Speaker 7 (19:33):
But I'm told two of those inside backers may not
be back early in the playoffs, so that that's a problem.
That was a great game. I know know about you guys,
but that was one of the best games of the year.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
So do you believe though they went for it with
a love point lead from their own thirty yard line,
leading by three and obviously didn't get the first down
Packers scored. I mean, there's a certain level I was like,
did Brandon Staley take over the coach on that series?
Speaker 2 (20:01):
What?
Speaker 1 (20:01):
I mean, what the hell is he doing? I mean
that that's the kind of cockiness that I get it.
You know, the idea that hey, we really believe in
you guys, that could backfire on you big time. I
and the third court. I just didn't see any need
for something like that.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
Yeah, and then obviously you saw what happened late. But yeah,
you know, it's funny. I remember going back a couple
of decades when Belichick it was against the Colts and
Peyton Manning, and they went up losing because they didn't
they didn't move. They went for it at their own
thirty and they knew what the consequences were if they
didn't get the first down, They're gonna lose a game.
There's no way that Manning's not gonna be able to
move them ball for them to win.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
And that's what happened.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
It Now, the analytics will tell you. And I have
to give Dan Campbell credit because I kind of was
not sure about him when he got the job. But
they take a page of the seventeen Eagles when they
won Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
If the charts is that go for it, they go
for it. They don't.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
They're not worried about anything. But I will tell you
and Steve, you just brought up the defense. Part of
being aggressive sometimes is where's your team at sometimes you
have to look at okay, like late late in the game.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Obviously they won on the last field goal.
Speaker 7 (21:09):
There you have to look at and see, okay, what
do we need and how's our defense playing. That does
as coaches have told me over there is that does
play into it.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
By the way, my Broncos have a bye week two
game lead with four to play for that last wild
card spot. You said earlier in the year, if the
Broncos actually get into the playoffs, as I predicted before
this year, you're.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Going to get that one.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
I oh your dinner, I think so. I think so
that's coming dude. Now, I didn't say Burger king. I
didn't say that.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
That's okay, believe me, anything free is me. I remember
that great stuff. Adam will see how Week fourteen in
the NFL shakes off. You're the best. We'll talk to
you next Saturday.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
That's the great Adam kaplan join us right there. He
did promise me.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
He did dinner.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, that's okay. If it comes out of a bag,
I'll he.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Just could not believe that you predicted that well, especially when.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
We were talking about it early game right, and bow
knicks predictably was having some rough games as a rookie quarterback,
but they turned around. So they're off this week, Colts
are off, Patriots, Commanders, Ravens, Texans. It's weird to have
a bye week and week fourteen.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Yes, and it seems like a lot at this point.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah, I mean it's like, okay, so after that though,
full slate of games for the rest of the season.
All right, let's find out what is trending right now.
Martin's here, and Martin Martin, did you happen to catch
Boise State last night? Do you know, Steve did you
did you see Ashton Genty? Well, last night I did.
(22:43):
I watched. Okay, Now I know that you've been adamant
that Travis Center is a no brainer playing both ways, Colorado,
great season, everything else.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
There's my decision for the Heisman Trophy and then there's
the wrong decisions.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
For the Heisman Trophy. So that's kind of where I
sit with it.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Well, I'm a non voter.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Do you feel like anybody that would support Ashton Genty
has a case?
Speaker 8 (23:05):
I mean sure if it was any other year, Like
this is not an anti Assidon Genty opinion, Like he's
you know, probably the best running back in college football
right now. But you know, again, like the teams he's
playing against. I get that he ran well against Oregon,
but the teams he's playing against and in the output, like,
did you tell me?
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Like I don't. I don't mean this to be hyperbolic.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
Or ridiculous or anything, but do you think that Campscatibo
could do a third or do like a third lesson
what gent he's doing at Boise State?
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Well, I'm just asking. I mean, considering that Boise State
will be seated ahead of the Big Twelve champion, right,
that is well, I mean they will be. I mean,
you know, you know, obviously Arizona State winning Big today,
but Boise State will be ahead of them. It's good
that everybody feels like they have a chance to win.
(23:58):
That's that's great. Okay. So the question is how good
is the Big twelve If a team that was three
and nine in the Pac Twelve last year won the conference.
Speaker 8 (24:09):
I mean, Kenny Dillingham's a hell of a coach, Like
the transfer Port, I mean, like they got a ton
of guys in there. It's like, how good is the
Big twelve or how good is the whatever.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
You name it? How the Mountain West. How good is
the Big ten that Oregon I'm in the pack? Time
just walked right through it. I agree with that. How
the Oregon is not one sec? Texas is in the championship.
Look at this? Look at this game that we're watching
right now. Is this blowing you away? That's Georgia. I
know you want to update this them.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
No, we're fine.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
No, I'm just saying I mean, if you're watching this
Georgia Texas game right now, which we all are, you're
not just like wow, look at these two teams. But
I mean this is college football. Steve.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
When I'm saying wow, look at these two teams, because
I'm watching the Chiefs play the Lions, I know, it's
like these are all eighteen year old kids who knows
you know, who knows you know?
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Cars that dates a TikTok Instagram influencer. He's on the
phone on the sideline right now. That's what's got his
elbow and bubble wrap. Yeah that's why I say that.
I don't mean that like facetiously. He's literally got got
a bubble wrap. Yeah, he's not what looks like saran wrap.
Now he's going to be done.
Speaker 8 (25:15):
He's done I know you're done voting for the Heisman,
which is a shame.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Still, I am not. I cannot reveal anything about my
Heisman vote, nor will I, but we'll talk a little
bit more about it. Can you reveal whether I've been
submitted or not? I'm not even going to say that,
all right, I will tell you this. The voter is
due on Monday. That is one hundred percent. We'll get
some creditor turn it in early. Steve, I agree with you.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
I agree. I'm just mad.
Speaker 8 (25:40):
I'm just really hope that that take that that email
didn't send off as a said dat he ran for
you know, one hundred and fifty plus against two hundred
nine yards. But anyway, no, I'm saying you've probably sent
it as he hit one fifty one I.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Have I will not reveal, and he's gonna finish with
two hundred.
Speaker 8 (25:58):
There is anyway. Do you know what Carson Becks injury is?
I know it's in I mean obviously looking saw.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
The players right before the half and he just got
his arm was.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
But you have it.
Speaker 8 (26:10):
I'm asking because I've been looking for it and I
feel like you have seen it as well, Like, do
we know what the elbow injury is or is just elbow.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
It literally says hand injury, hand injury.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
That's what That's what bleacher report has, but there's no details.
Speaker 8 (26:24):
Somebody's lying because my eyes right here being wrapped up,
and I'll go ahead. Let's let's tell the story. Let's
tell the story.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Carson back on, the.
Speaker 8 (26:33):
Last player the first half, took a nasty hit trying
to throw a hail mary in a game right now
that Georgia leeds ten to six. Carson, like he said,
took that hit. He was in the locker room. It
was pretty mu extended halftime. It looks as if he's
got an elbow injury. Other people reporting hand either way.
This is just throwing arm and Gunner Stockton, which is
(26:53):
an elite name for a backup quarterback in the game.
Right now, he's four for five for four to three
yards so far. Not not high scoring year in this game.
Is his ten to six seven minutes left in the
third quarter. Tech Georgia just punted to Texas quinn Ewers
have seventeen for twenty seven to two hundred and forty one
yards and an interception. Arch Manning has played in this game,
but again ten to six seven minutes left in the
(27:15):
third quarter. Earlier today, we saw Arizona State blowout Hiowa
State forty five to nineteen. Camp Scattaball had one hundred
and seventy yards rushing, two touchdowns and a touchdown catch
as well. The Sun Devils win the Big Twelve championship
in their first year in the conference.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Now locked into a spot in.
Speaker 8 (27:30):
The College Football Playoff, Ohio University beat Miami of Ohio
thirty eight to three to win the MAC. Jackson State
beat Southern forty one to thirteen to win the SWACK.
Mike Gundhy will remain the head coach at Oklahoma State
with the restructured contract. Cowboys didn't have a great season
this year. Man's college basketball fifth rank to Marquette beat
eleventh Ork Wisconsin eighty eight to seventy four, eighteenth into
Pittsburg bet Virginia Tech sixty four to fifty nine, and
(27:54):
twenty three North Carolina beat Georgia Tech sixty eight to
sixty five. Orlando Magic Ford Franz Wagner has torn is
right o'blea out definitely sucks for the.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Michigan Red No.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I'm so mad about that.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
Same injury that Pallo band Caro suffered earlier this season,
which I mean the.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Odds, what are the odds?
Speaker 8 (28:11):
I don't know that go stand out, go stand outside
in la Is if you get struck by lightning twice,
probably similar odds to this or the odds that asked
Jenti hasn't winning the Heisman Trophy just by damn, despite
votes may or may not have been submitted.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
I know you're not a hater, but damn.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
Never never been a hater. I'm a truth tailer, Monzi.
That's why I don't have the vote anyway. Back to
Monci and uh, yeah me, Steve, thank you very much,
thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
The discourse right now on Twitter with Carson Beck's injury is,
so Georgia is not going to be in the playoffs
right because they're not the same team without their starting quarterback?
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Right or was that only last year?
Speaker 2 (28:50):
No?
Speaker 4 (28:50):
No, no, So that going on right on social media, Well that's.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Last year because there were only four schools in the playoff.
Georgia is obviously with a and guaranteed a slot in
the playoff no matter who their quarterback is. So those
days are over, thankfully now. How this is ultimately going
to play out with this twelve school playoff. We just
have to watch once again. This is Fox Football Saturday.
We are coming to live from the tai Iraq dot
(29:17):
com studios. It really is interesting though, these schools, I mean,
think about this. So the Pac twelve disintegrated when USC
and UCLA announced they were going to go to the
Big Ten, and then the whole thing just unraveled, right,
and so Washington and Oregon end up falling into the
Big Ten. He had four schools going into the Arizona schools,
(29:39):
Utah and Colorado going into the Big twelve, and then
of course Stanford and Cal end up in the ACC
Arizona State preseason. As they're picking the count, we're picked
sixteenth out of sixteen in the Big twelve. Yes, that's
how it is. Sixteen schools in the Big twelve. They
were picked dead last. They were three and nine last
(30:01):
year in the Pac twelve, and they're eleven and two
and they're heading into the playoff. Colorado last year was
four and eight in the Pac twelve, actually finished last
because they were one and eight in conference play. They
go nine and three. So again the question is how
(30:21):
good is the Big twelve of Arizona State and Colorado,
both bottom feeders in the Pac twelve last year, became
powers this year in the Big Twelve.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
I don't know the answer.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Obviously, this is a bit of a loaded question because
now with transfer portal and everybody moving around, there's probably
a lot of factors that go into it. But it
is something to look at, like, yes, how strong are
was this conference?
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Actually right?
Speaker 1 (30:51):
And this gets down again when we talk about the
Heisman chase between Genty you know, and Travis Hunter. These
are two phenomenal players. Okay, let's just face it, and honestly,
in any season, one of these guys would be a
runaway vote. But you're really having two spectacular, very different
type seasons, but two spectacular seasons at the same time.
(31:14):
The knock on a Genty is well, he plays in
the Mountain West, which but when you watched the Big
twelve this year with all these new schools. By the way,
Iowa State today was looking to win their first conference
championship since the year that the Titanic set that was
nineteen twelve. Nineteen twelve was the last time Iowa Stated
(31:36):
won a conference championship. So we talk about strength of
schedules and who's everyone playing? This is the whole landscape
of college football is completely changed from anything we saw
prior to this season.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Right, there is no precedent. We don't know. We're going
to figure it out as we go.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
But real quick back to Ashton Genty and Travis Hunter.
Something I saw people discussing on the internet.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Which I was like, that's an interesting question.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
It was if you put Genty on the Colorado team,
they would be unstoppable. If you put Travis Hunter with
Boise State, are they still as good?
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Look? How are you using them?
Speaker 5 (32:15):
Right?
Speaker 1 (32:15):
In other words, if Genty was at Colorado, he's not
going to be carrying the ball thirty times when you
have a Chador Sanders. Even if Travis Hunter and is
Boise State going to use him on both sides of
the football. Here, here's what I'll predict about both these guys. Okay,
they're going to be in some order one two in
the high school. We know that. Yeah, both these guys
(32:37):
are gonna have an impact in the NFL. You know,
it's just one of yours. I don't think there's a
wrong answer here, to be honest with you. Yeah, and
so as a Heisman voter, you know. I just there
a lot of things that I've said about having a
Heisman vote, and I do take it very seriously. Is
when the games are done today, almost ninety nine percent
(32:59):
of the voters will vote tomorrow or Monday. Monday is
when the voters due, and you take all the games
into account. And the thing I look at is this,
I look at your schedule. What was the biggest game
on your schedule and how did you perform in that game?
And ironically, the biggest game on Genti's schedule was against
(33:21):
Oregon in Eugene, a shootout game. The one back and
forth between Dylan Gabriel, a quarterback and a running back
genty who almost had two hundred yards rushing in three touchdowns.
Obviously he performed big. Travis Hunter is difficult to gauge
because we don't really have any one to judge him
(33:42):
with a guy that had over eleven hundred yards receiving,
He had four interceptions, playing countless minutes. He did have
a couple of games where he was hurt a little bit,
which we thought would happen before the season. So there
really isn't a wrong answer. But I don't think this
idea of the different since strength between a Big twelve
and a Mountain West is as pronounced as it was
(34:05):
in the past, I.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Agree with you.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
You like that.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
I do like that because I don't like the argument
of the strength of schedule being something that you want
to die on a hill, which I don't like that.
I don't see how you can blame the strength of schedule.
Like you said, they played Oregon, and they played well
against Oregon on the road, on the road, on the road,
lost by what three three points?
Speaker 5 (34:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah, So if you were going to look at I
like what you said, then look.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
At this game.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
If you're going to judge the strength of schedule, we
got to judge the biggest, most important game and it
was against Oregon, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
And the bottom line is Colorado will not be in
the playoff. Boise State will not only be in the playoff,
They're going to get a first round ball. Would they
be there without Ashton Genty?
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Absolutely not. I think that's right.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Absolutely, I'm just wondering.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
All right.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Coming up on the other side, we got more college
football news to get to, including this matchup in the
Big Ten Championship between another school first year in the conference.
That would be Oregon, against hen State. Somehow when I
grew up the idea that we would ever see in
Oregon benn State, big ten jemmions and where are we
went out of the old Michigan Ohio state days tilights
(35:10):
on they are over, We'll break it all down. This
is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Steve Hartman, Montci Belanos Here Fox Football Saturday. We're coming
live from the tai Iraq dot com studios. This is
such a good time of the year, no question. By
the way. Georgia added a field goals, so they now
lead Texas thirteen to six, final seconds of the third quarter.
As Texas has struggled in this game. Yes, quinn Ewers
(35:48):
is nineteen to thirty passing two hundred and fifty three yards,
no touchdowns on a pick obviously, Texas two field goals.
That's it. They have twenty one yards rushing against this
Georgia team, and Georgia offensively is almost a zero. Carson
Beck the injury at the half, but he was only
seven to thirteen for fifty six yards. Anyway, outside of
(36:12):
a forty eight yard run by Trevor Etn, they have
no offense Georgia, so this has been a defensive struggle
big time. And right now Georgia leading Texas thirteen to
six as we get ready for the fourth quarter. All right,
coming up, Montci. We got the Big Ten Championship game
a little over an hour away, Penn State and Oregon.
(36:33):
So when I grew up, you know, the Big Ten
was actually ten schools, and he had Michigan, Ohio State
and everybody else. Right, every year it was the Michigan
Ohio State Game which determined which school would play in
the Rose Bowl against the Pack A Pac ten, Pack
twelve champion, whoever it was at the time. Those a's
are gone. Here's the amazing thing about Oregon. All right,
So Oregon, the last undefeated team left unanimous number one
(36:57):
in the eight peopole, number one obviously in the Bullpole.
But the big story this week out of Oregon was
the recruiting number one recruiting class in the country. Now, again,
when you're going after these five star recruits, I always
say this about five star recruits, a third of them
will be even better than advertised. A third of them
(37:18):
will be absolute bust and then the third will be
you know, good players that are certainly going to help you.
But this is rarefied air. This is where Alabama and
Georgia and Clemson on Ohio State, the teams that we've
seen in power the last ten years dominate the recruiting.
Now Oregon not only leading the Big Ten but number
(37:39):
one recruiting class. It really tells Obviously Nike's got a
lot to do with this, with the nil and everything else,
but we are seeing a change in the guard potentially
with this Oregon program. If we were to go on
to win a national championship this year, look out, it
could be the first of many.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
And I think the big reason is Dan Lanning, Right,
I feel like he just there's something about him.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Where people don't like this guy?
Speaker 4 (38:05):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 9 (38:07):
Like?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
I feel like it's opposite. I feel like you don't
you already.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Want to punch the guy in the face. I mean figuratively, Dan. Look,
he's a great coach. Obviously last year they lost both
games to Washington. I was actually rooting against Oregon in
those games. But there's something about him. I don't know
it's arrogance, but you can do that if you're winning,
and obviously Oregon's winning.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
He's winnings.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
I actually think he's part of the reason why recruits
want to go there.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Really, Yes, more so than Nike.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
More so. I'm not saying, well, maybe not.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
You're right Nike, he's a big part of it, but
I think recruits like him.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
There's something about dan Anny when you see him talking
to his team for some reason. That's how I interpret it.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Well, I mean, it's obviously a big part of it.
I mean, you gotta like the coach. I mean, look
what's happened to usc They've lost six of the top
three hundred recruits decommitted from USCA. That means they don't
like Lincoln Riley.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
I think that's a part of it, or no trust
it's like you can I'm not saying that maybe he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
There's not people out there who do want to punch
him in the face. Yes, I think you're right on that,
but it goes hand in hand. It's like love me
and fear me all at the same time.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Well, it really changes the whole dynamic, it really does.
I mean, when you look at Ohio State out of
the Big Ten championship. Now Ohio State will be in
the playoff. We know that, and it could determine the
fate of Ryan Day. I mean, if they go one
and done in the playoff, I don't think he's guaranteed
of his job. I mean, right now, they're not going
(39:42):
to do anything because while they're getting ready to be
in the playoff, but if they don't win a playoff game,
he could be gone. And by the way, how was
that hiring a Chip Kelly his mentor as his offensive coordinator?
How did that work?
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Not?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
Great? Did not go that great?
Speaker 2 (39:57):
No?
Speaker 1 (39:58):
By the way, here, Eric the Enemy got fired after
one year.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Yeah, because he wants to go back to the NFL.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Well, probably we'll be back with the Cheese because they
might meet him. Well, nag, he's been a bust as
offensive coordinator. That offense is unrecognizable this year. So yeah,
don't be surprised if Eric the Enemy ends up back
with his old team, the Chiefs. Speaking of the Chiefs,
we had a big NFL Sunday to break it down.
This is Fox Football Saturday. Rolling along here on another
(40:23):
fully loaded sports Saturday. This is Fox Football Saturday. Broadcasting
live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tire rack
dot com, we're gonna help get you there an unmatched selection,
fast reshipping, free road as a protection over ten thousand
recommend an installers, tire rack dot com the way tire
buying should be. So, Texas and Georgia tied at thirteen.
(40:47):
But here's the deal. Unlike what's gonna happen a little
bit later on in the ACC Championship game between SMU
and Clemson, winner moves on to the playoff, loser goes home,
the loser of this game between Georgia and Texas is
going to be in the playoffs. The only difference being
(41:11):
is the winner will get a first round by the
loser will have that extra game. And we again, I
don't know how these college kids are going to react
to bye weeks at this point of the season. I
think this could be very tricky for those schools that
have the bye and you know, staying sharp and staying
focused and then playing obviously a team that will be
(41:32):
coming off a big win getting into the next round.
So we'll see that plays off. But this just seems
like it's playing out as we thought it was before
the season that the Big Ten and the SEC are
really calling the shots.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
Yeah, as I asked you off air, why is Army
not in the playoff? Why is Alabama in the playoffs? I?
I mean, yeah, what was expected is happening.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Well, again, we only have four power conferences. Now, we
thought we were gonna have five Power conferences, but the
PAC twelve obviously went away, at least temporarily. So that
means you have the Big Ten, you have the SEC,
and then you have the ACC and the Big twelve.
Well okay, so you have those teams and then you
end up with four teams in the Big Ten. Four
(42:29):
teams out of the SEC and the AC and the
Big twelve get.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
One, get one that doesn't make it.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
They get one each.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
And I guess like if maybe Alabama didn't have three losses,
it would be easier to accept. Right, It's like, it's
just look at what's look at the numbers in front
of you. It's hard to justify it in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Well, they got blown out by Vandervelt. Now they got
blown out by Oklahoma. Okay, so and and you know,
and I got in what was weird this week? I
don't know if everyone out there listening caught onto this.
So they had the ratings come out this week and
they had Miami listed right below Alabama, and the head
(43:11):
of the committee said, because both Alabama and Miami are
not playing this week, there's nothing they can do that
would change the order of those two teams. So they
were basically saying it's been decided, even though the final
rankings obviously will come out of this week in terms
(43:31):
of could Miami you reconsider they take a different look,
and they could. They're like, no, no, Alabama will be
ahead of Miami.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
It's almost like they just held on to Alabama's win
over Georgia weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
It's almost like that's what they're holding on to and
that was a game where.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
They were twenty eighth and nothing. It almost lost that game.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Exactly, but it's almost like that's they're putting like a
lot of weight on them.
Speaker 4 (44:01):
But yeah, you scored three against Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
I mean that is a bad ni recently, Like it
wasn't like all week one you did that.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
I think went on the road against Vanderbilt after hanging
on to be Georgia and got worked, worked, worked, So
I again, this is you know, it doesn't matter how
many schools they have in these playoffs. Go back to
the BCS championship game with the two schools. Then we
went to a four school so called playoff, and now
(44:33):
we have a twelve school playoff, which is great. I
just think again, when we look at this twelve school playoff,
I think there's gonna be upsets. I don't even consider
them upsets. I think there's not a lot of difference
between these schools, even Oregon Citty at number one. Remember,
I mean they won laid against Ohio State. I mean
they could easily have lost that game and it was
(44:54):
at home. I just, you know, I think this is
just going to be wah wah west once we get
this playoff going. And think about how long this playoff is, right,
you get the Yes, you got the first four games,
and then a week later got four more games, and
then you have two games, and then you have a
championship game.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
Like late January.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
Yeah, this's going into you know, like the twentieth or
something of January before we actually get to a championship.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Yeah, that's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (45:21):
That's not bad for us.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
No, it's not bad.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
No, I mean we're going to be able to talk
more college football.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Right right, right, but it is it's going to feel
long in comparison to what we've expected.
Speaker 1 (45:29):
Well again, and if you're one of those, I mean,
look at the potentially here, the loser of this Georgia
Texas game, Yeah, is going to be playing that first week.
And if they were to get to the championship game
in the playoff, that's a seventeen game season, same as
(45:49):
an NFL S for college kids.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
Yeah, but at least it is spread out. It is
spread out here at.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
The end a little a little bit, a little bit.
Can they maintain their focus? I mean it's gonna be
a great challenge for these coaches down the road. All right,
let's get to some NFL football right now, manse I
want to go back to something that was said earlier
by the great Adam Kaplan when you asked him about
the Chargers Chiefs. He's so quickly dismissed even the thought
(46:19):
that the Chargers had a ghost of a chance against
a Chiefs team. As you've accurately said, this is a
team that seems hell bent on losing. They're begging, begging,
if somebody beat us. Yes, and for some reason, no
one can beat them. But he just completely dismissed any thought.
Speaker 10 (46:38):
Right, it was ridiculous that I asked that Chargers I
and I was a little bit surprised that that's how
he answered, because I think the Chargers have a really
legit chance of upsetting the Chiefs in Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
We just looked up the weather. It's not going to
be frigid cold where an LA team can't handle.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
It's gonna be cold.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
It's gonna be cool, low forties. I chance or rain,
but no, nothing crazy.
Speaker 5 (47:02):
I ran.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
I actually ran a half marathon in Pasadena that was
like low fort yes, and I died.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
But you know I arrived after the fact.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
That you're wearing a football uniform.
Speaker 4 (47:11):
I was not. And I wasn't even wearing that many
layers either.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Now by the time I finished running, I did not
break a single sweat.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
I was still cold, right like.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
But I remember I was like, Okay, if I could
do this, good to know they'll be fine.
Speaker 4 (47:27):
They'll be fine. Weather should not be that big of
a factor.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
But here's the factor again. He mentioned JK. Dobbins and Dopins. Obviously,
he's had an impact on that running game, and that
was a big part of this Charger season, Jim Harbaugh
getting that running game going. The Chargers had no offense
again once again, second half. Justin Herbert has not been
a great second half quarterback and they're only scoring. The
second half of that game against Atlanta was the pick six,
(47:52):
but zero points from the offense in the second half,
and they had no running game. We have and I'm
gonna guess that the chief defense still is better than
the Falcons right right.
Speaker 3 (48:03):
But the the offensive holes have been there the whole season.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Yes, JK.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Dobbins was starting starting it for the Chargers and then
he got hurt. Okay, but our offensive holes have been
there the entire season.
Speaker 4 (48:16):
And honestly, what are the Chiefs offensive weapons right now?
They also don't have many.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
Well, they have Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
But he has all okay, in the second half.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Of the nineteen touchdowns eleven he is beginning.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
He's beginning to show life. But I I based on
the Chiefs performances, I am not scared and I don't
think the Chargers should be.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
Well, here's something you should take note of, Lad mccakey.
The rookie is more productive than any other wide receiver
the Chief set if mccakay's going to be out of
this game.
Speaker 4 (48:46):
He's questionable. He's been questionable for weeks.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
I've got questionable. And as he played every week.
Speaker 4 (48:50):
Not every week, but he has played more weeks.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
What do you have nine catches last week and no
one else had a catch in the game? Is like
a one he has to play.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
He has to play and actually looked it up and
there's no conference. Although he illudined tam Yes, that's another question.
O's to another hole.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
That could be a whole different conversation.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
How do you feel about our first round pick that
you brought in as a wide receiver who literally cannot
catch the ball?
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Cannot It doesn't matter where it hits it. It could
hit his chest, his hands, his head. He will not
catch it.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Is that a bad sit?
Speaker 4 (49:19):
Is a bad time?
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Yes, it is a bad time, and it sucks because
the first couple of games he did catch a couple
of touchdowns, like he had a couple consistent games catching
touchdowns and then just disappeared.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
Disappeared for us.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
People don't understand the gloves that they wear these days.
You know, back in the old days, obviously guys didn't
have gloves. They had stick them like this is Freddie
baluittne Cough. The Bulletant Cough Award top wide receiver college
football named after the great fred bulatan CoV, former Raider
Florida State star, and he wore stick him because when
he first came into professional football he was having a
hard time catching the ball. Stickham is literally like glue glue,
(49:55):
and eventually the NFL outlawed it because it just made
a mess of the football on everything else. But these
gloves that they wear. I've had these kind of gloves on,
and I am telling you, the idea that you could
ever drop a ball with those gloves on if you
have two hands on the ball seems literally impossible.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
Yeah, there's like a bit of a grip to them, Yeah,
a little bit.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
When you see guys making one handed catch and you're like, wow,
that's amazing. Those gloves are unreal.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
It's the glove. It's the glove.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Yeah, No, it just it literally sticks.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
So you're basically wondering how Quinston Johnston yet those looks.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
I was I can't I catch the laugh.
Speaker 4 (50:41):
Yeah, No, it's not great.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
I'm with you, though. I really think the Chargers, unless
chance they got to take care of the football obviously,
But again, Herbert's only thrown one interception all year, and
he's been taking care of the football. There were times
in that game against Atlanta, and again they weren't doing
much offensively, the Chargers, but I saw him eat it
instead of throwing it out for grabs. So Jim Harbaugh,
(51:05):
obviously former quarterback himself, has made it infinitely clear to him,
don't f this up. Our defense is good enough. The
only thing that could derail us is you having a meltdown,
throwing interceptions, fumbling the ball, whatever. Take care of the football.
And that's why a Charger team that nobody could have
(51:28):
predicted would have this kind of start, best starts since
twenty eighteen could be sitting at eight and four.
Speaker 4 (51:33):
Oh and I think I'm doing.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Very securely in the moment in a playoff position.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
Joe, I'm almost im try to figure out because I
told you, I don't think Joe all played against the
Chiefs the first time around, and I don't think our
other tackle, Slater played either, and they're both supposed to play.
It's going to be a different Chargers team that the
Chiefs are going to face.
Speaker 1 (51:52):
All right, coming up on the other side, some teams
are playing out the string already in the NFL, but
that doesn't mean they don't have a lot to play for.
We'll give you a couple of prime examples. This is
Fox Football Saturday. Oh yes, it is that time of
the year, is it not, Ladies and gentlemen, Once again,
this is Fox Football Saturday. We're coming live from the
(52:14):
tire rack dot com studios, and don't forget. Right after
the show, our podcast is going up. So if you
miss any of today's show, check out the podcast. Just
search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and
then follow, rate and review the podcast. Again, just search
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts. You'll see
this show posted right after we get off the air.
All right, so we let off the show with Eric Dickerson,
(52:36):
who joined us live I know as he was on
his way to the ACC Championship game to see his
SMU Mustangs taking on Clemson. That game is going to
be kicking off here in about thirty nine minutes later.
On of course, we also have that Oregon Penn State
matchup in the Big Ten. Georgia right now is leading
Texas sixteen to thirteen with two forty two to go
(52:59):
and Georgia has the ball. So right now, we'll keep
our eye on that SEC championship game. But we talked
about listening to this podcast. Well, another reason is, once
again one of the biggest stars here at Fox Sports
Radio is gracious enough to come on our show. He
doesn't have to do this, he does not, but we're
(53:21):
happy he is.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
Is this his walk up song? Nice? Nice? I like that.
I like that. That's a good walk up song. Aeron.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
That's it for Torris As once again, what's up?
Speaker 9 (53:35):
Team?
Speaker 1 (53:36):
We are doing great, Aaron. So we're keeping our eye
on this Georgia Texas game. But it looks like, Aaron,
that you're gonna have twelve schools in the playoff and
eight of the twelve schools will either be in the
Big Ten or the SEC. Yeah, four schools in the
Big Ten, four schools from the SEC, the Big twelve champion,
the ACC champion.
Speaker 9 (53:57):
What so you're already eliminating SMU as a potential at
large things.
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Ah, okay, I'm glad you mentioned that. All right, So
Eric Dicker saying you a great SMU legend. You know,
we were sitting there saying, okay, if SMU loses to Clemson,
are they still in? And my guess is they're not.
But maybe you can make an argument of how SMU,
which would by by the way, be eleven and two,
(54:22):
let's say lose a close game to Clemson, could you
see them getting in instead of Alabama.
Speaker 9 (54:30):
So it's really funny, guys. First of all, I really
appreciate you guys having me. It's been fun coming on
the last few weeks. I have a question for you later,
Steve about your hiding vote. Yes, but we can get
to that later. But no, in all seriousness, I will
say I got asked the question of you know earlier
this week, do you root for this? Do you route
for that? And I'm not rooting against SMU, But what
(54:53):
I will say is SMU losing causes the single most
interesting time talking point, something that no doubt Jason Martin
and I will be talking about at eleven pm Eastern.
And it's obviously a three loss SEC team. We assume
Alabama because the committee has already said they're not going
to drop teams or move teams that aren't playing this week.
So a three loss Alabama versus obviously a two loss
(55:17):
SMU that wouldn't be a conference champion either, and you know,
we could get into the resumes if you want. I
did a long segment on my show earlier this week,
but I bring it up because basically, the committee basically
acknowledged that teams in the SEC and Big Ten championship
games would not be punished for losing this game. Now
I think you should make an argument that Texas maybe
(55:38):
should be punished, but we can have that conversation as well.
But I bring it up because if SMU were to
lose tonight and they were to be left out, I
think that would be the unofficial death of conference championship
games in a lot of leagues because the ACC I
think tomorrow would start the conversation of we're not playing
a conference championship game anymore because the only reason SMU
(56:00):
got left out is because they played an extra game.
And so I don't I actually think Steve, and this
is just a personal opinion. We don't know what will
happen because we've never seen this twelve team playoff scenario before,
but I actually think that if SMU were to lose,
they would get in over a three loss SCC team
(56:21):
one because Alabama course their great Wins has some terrible
losses on that resume, same with old myths. But two,
it's because I don't think that committee wants to use
a bad analogy. I don't think they want the blood
on their hands of having to answer questions about should
we cancel conference championship games because teams are getting punished
for them? So we don't know what will happen. But
(56:43):
I actually think SMU, just because they would be punished
for playing a conference championship game, might get in over
a three lost Alabama team.
Speaker 1 (56:52):
Right, And let's keep in mind that the only loss
SMU had this year was a three point loss to BYU,
a tenant two out of the Big twelve. That was
their only loss. Okay, so it's not like it wasn't
like they got blown out by Vanderbilt or got blown
out by Oklahoma. They lost by three points to b
YU at ten and two Big twelve team.
Speaker 9 (57:14):
Let me just jump in. I'll be very quick on
this side. I know there's other stuff to get to,
but that is what makes it interesting is that they
would you know, this is kind of the classic you know,
college basketball on Championship Week conversation is SMU would have
no great wins, but they'd have no terrible losses. Alabama
obviously would have, you know, really several pretty good wins,
(57:34):
including what might be a win over the over the
SEC champion, we'll see what happens here at the end
the game, but they would have a couple of bad losses.
And I think that's also part of the argument for
SMU is if you're arguing they have no great wins,
they also didn't lose to any of the bad or
moderately good teams on their schedule. So I think it's
a little bit more of a conversation than maybe a
lot of other people do.
Speaker 3 (57:54):
Okay, Arion help me, like I'm five, expl explains it sometimes?
Speaker 4 (58:02):
Why is Army not in the playoffs?
Speaker 9 (58:06):
So you know what's funny about that is that I
actually had that thought last night of like, you know,
we're arguing over all these nine and three SEC teams
that ten in two this, you know, why don't we
just support the troops and put Army in at eleven
and one?
Speaker 1 (58:21):
That they won the eight, they still the Army Navy,
but if they beat Navy next week twelve and one.
Speaker 9 (58:28):
Yeah, yeah, it's you know, listen, what I what I
would say, honestly, is it's the bias of college football, right,
is that we just assume that the four power conference
team four power conferences are tougher. I think they are
obviously Notre Dame unless I'm missing something. I think two
Lane fell out of the rankings this week, so or
they will after last night, so Army would have no
(58:50):
ranked wins. I actually don't have a super strong argument
for them not at least being in the conversation. But
obviously five there are five at large bids that go
to the or the five bids that go to the
highest rank conference champions, and obviously the AAC right now
is the sixth rank conference. But I kind of wish it,
(59:15):
but I don't think they will get in. But there
isn't like a super strong argument that they shouldn't at
least be in consideration when we get that final pull
out tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
All right, Aaron, So my Heisman vote is doom Monday.
This would be my fifteenth year voting for the Heisman
Trophy and it's a two dog race. Obviously it's either
genty or Hunter, and I mean.
Speaker 9 (59:34):
It's gonna be my question.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
Well, I mean, I mean, I don't see you know,
Dylan Gabriel, I don't see any of the quarterbacks in
play here, so I'll be I mean. And so here's
one of my questions. If you were going to say
about genty coming out of the Mountain West versus Hunter
coming out of the Big twelve. The winner of the
Big Twelve this year was a three and nine team
(59:56):
a year ago in the Pac twelve. And by the way,
Colorado last year was a foreign eight team one and
eight in conference in the Pac twelve, and those two
schools went into the Big twelve and dominated this year,
at least within that conference. So I guess the question
is is there really a big difference in the level
of competition that Travis Hunter won up against this year
(01:00:18):
as opposed to what Ashton gent won against this year.
Speaker 9 (01:00:22):
Well, let me say this. So I wanted to ask
you about another candidate, but Steve Hartman, I don't think
you spend very much time on social media. But I
will read you a tweet verbatim from Aaron Torres four
hours ago. I don't have an exact time. It was
eleven fifty six Pacific, two fifty six Eastern. I said,
in a different world where the Pac twelve was actually
(01:00:44):
well run. The league stays together with ten teams. That's
obviously after USC and UCLA League, and they were planning
on adding SMU and San Diego State. That league would
now have Oregon currently twelve to zero, Arizona State about
to be eleven and two. They are now Colorado nine
three in SMU currently eleven and one, and are indisputably
the second best conference in college football.
Speaker 6 (01:01:06):
Right, So, I don't even.
Speaker 9 (01:01:07):
Remember what your question was, but that's just an interesting, Uh,
that's just an interesting, like kind of sad PostScript is
that league was finally figuring out football and obviously completely
so apart the last second.
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
No, I guess my question is this, and people in
breaking down the gent Genti versus Hunter, is that, well,
Hunter's in a power conference and Jenny plays in the
Mountain West. Even though they lost one game this year
on the road in Eugene against the number one team
of the country, he had almost too many yards rushing
in three touchdowns in a shootout game that they lost
(01:01:41):
on the road by three points. And so that's that,
that's where it comes out. I mean, I cannot divulge,
nor will I divulge my vote but I want to
hear your vote. I mean, how how would you how
would your Heisman one two three ballot look?
Speaker 9 (01:01:58):
Well, my highs in one two would not change from
previous weeks. And I've told you my stance is just
talking to people who have played football at the highest levels.
They have told me that what Travis Hunter has done
is just something that us mere mortals could not even understand,
you know, basically playing you know, so many snaps at
(01:02:21):
an elite level on defense and then immediately jumping out
and playing offense. But here was my question for you, Steve,
as I was going to say, I was told earlier
today by somebody on social media that the Heisman committee
is biased towards white running backs. That was actually something
I was really told, and that scattle Bow should be
(01:02:42):
in New York for the Heisman Trophy. Seventeen touchdowns before today,
top ten, top ten in total rushing touchdowns. Obviously he's
about top fifteen or so in rushing yards, and it's
worth noting obviously it has led to his team success,
so has My question wasn't all seriousness outside of the
Heisman Trophy committee being biased towards white running backs, which
(01:03:04):
I had not heard until today. Does he deserve to
be in New York in your opinion?
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Well, I look, he's had a phenomenal season and certainly
with the exclamation point today, But I think right now,
I would be very surprised if Genty and Hunter are
on ninety nine percent of the ballots. In some order,
there's three spots on the ballot, and then you got
three quarterbacks. You got Schador Sanders, you got cam Warden,
got Dylan Gabriel. And my guess is those three guys
(01:03:31):
the vote is going to be very close, especially if
Oregon wins today, because you know, cam Ward, Shdor Sanders
have more touchdowns, more yards. But if Dylan Gabriel, you know,
undefeated number one, he's going to get a lot of support.
I wouldn't be surprised if all three of those quarterbacks
are so bunched together that all three of them get
an invite to New York.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:03:51):
I don't know exactly how the invites work, but I
do agree.
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
It's based on how the voting breaks out. That's how
it works out. You know three guys are going for sure,
but if you don't like that battle for third place,
the votes are close, that's when you get extra guys
getting the trip to New York. That's how it works.
Speaker 9 (01:04:08):
Okay, I just remember a few years ago, Head and
Hooker didn't even get a vote, and he was basically
the best player in college He didn't even get a
trip to New York. He was basically the best player
in college football till yes, until he got hurt. But
I don't know if you had anything to do with that,
or if you'd like to apologize for anybody, but I
have everything.
Speaker 5 (01:04:21):
To do with them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
Actually, I hate to say that.
Speaker 5 (01:04:24):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
Once again, to have Aeron Torres on this show is
a is a rare to read, although not so rare
because it's three weeks in a row. Yeah, it's not rare,
but we're going to continue to do next week. We
got four weeks of college football playoffs coming up, so
we got a lot of weeks ahead.
Speaker 9 (01:04:39):
Let's have me on.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
Yeah yeah, all right, Well, have a great show yourself, Aaron,
thanks so much.
Speaker 9 (01:04:47):
Thanks, I'll be out at eleven pm Eastern. Also, producer
Pat text me like more than three minutes before you
need me next.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
No, we want to do it like that, like coming.
Speaker 9 (01:04:56):
That's becoming the official trend. Nothing hearing said, I'm getting
the text at four to oh seven. Hey, are you
available in five minutes?
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
Yes? And the amazing thing is with your busy schedule,
somehow you find time. Aaron, You're the best. Thanks so much, man,
enjoy your show tonight. All right, there, he is the
great aeron tours. All right, let's find out what is
trending right now as Martin is back and we are
getting toward the end of this SEC Championship games. Yeah,
(01:05:24):
what's trending?
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
His high level drama stea high level drama like that.
You had the backup quarterback for Georgia in the game
because Carson Beck got hurt on the last play of
the half. That's Gunner Stockton, who threw his first interception
at a It couldn't have been a worst time to
Georgia Bulldogs. Now Texas is driving down the field. They
(01:05:46):
just converted a fourth and three. There's a minute and
seven seconds left in the fourth quarter. Quinn, you weers
en up trying to drive down the field too. Have
two timeouts remaining. They're on their own third. They're on
the Georgia thirty five yard line, trying desperately to get
in the field goal range.
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Field goal kicking has been hit or miss. That is
a for that hurt. It doesn't look to me like
they're playing for a field goal. Why are they at
least trying for a touchdown? It absolutely looks like they're
playing for a field goal.
Speaker 8 (01:06:12):
But that's Isaiah Bomb just got rolled up on it
and he got that was a one of those that
you know, don't show the replay, folks, but it does,
Steve look like they're playing for a field goal. Forty
five checkers left. I don't know, maybe Matt Eberflu's just coaching.
Speaker 5 (01:06:25):
The long run run.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
They have two timeouts.
Speaker 8 (01:06:30):
You know, that was rude, Matt Ebraflues. He did call timeout.
It's just one o'clock.
Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Will stop.
Speaker 8 (01:06:34):
Georgia ends up taking a time out, I'll go ahead
and spend the rest of it. Quinn Ewerys has two interceptions.
He has three hundred and fifty three yards through the
air and a touchdown. That touchdown came in the fourth quarter.
But Georgia again kicked the field goal to take the
three point lead. And we'll see what Texas ends up
doing if they make this field goal. By the time
I stopped talking, I'll let you know and elsewhere in
college football, Ohio University beat Miami of Ohio thirty eight
(01:06:58):
to three to win the mac Aras on the State
Blue aut Iowa.
Speaker 1 (01:07:01):
State forty five to nineteen.
Speaker 8 (01:07:02):
Camps Katabu ran for one hundred and seventy yards and
two touchdowns. Sam Levitt twelve for seventeen two nineteen through
the air and three touchdowns. Sun Devils win the Big
Twelve in their first year in the conference. They are
locked into a spot in the College Football Playoff. Jackson
State beats Southern forty one to thirteen to win the SWACK.
Mike Gundy will remain the head coach at Oklahoma State
(01:07:23):
with a restructured contract after the Big Twelve restructured. Mike
Gundy in his first year, oh to nine in the
Big Twelve. Men's college basketball, fifth RAC Marquette beat eleventh
rank Wisconsin eighty eight to seventy four. Eighteenth ran Pittsburgh
beat Virginia Tech sixty four to fifty nine. Twenty three
North Carolina beat Georgia Tech sixty eight to sixty five.
Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner tore his right old leak.
(01:07:44):
He's out in definitely same injury Palo Bancaro suffered earlier
this season.
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Forty one seconds left for the Texas Longhorns.
Speaker 8 (01:07:51):
Out of the time out, Quinnyewers drops back, throws a
ball up in the air to Oh, that ball to.
Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
The end zone. Flags all over the place.
Speaker 8 (01:07:59):
Wow much for playing for the field goal, Steve. It's
going to look like it'll be Texas ball first and goal.
Oh no, it's not as posible. It's fifteen penalty on
Georgia with thirty five seconds left, and at this point
I'll kick it back over to you.
Speaker 1 (01:08:12):
All right, Mark, Well, we're going to keep our eye
on this. So thirty five seconds to go right now
in this SEC Championship game, we'll see where the ball
is placed with a deep pass, clear pass interference call
and that'll be a fifteen yard penalty. All right, guess
what it is? It's that time. So I've been delaying
(01:08:32):
this myself all day. Let's I want to clarify something
before we get to Patrick. So we work on it
like a Stableford system. Here, it's a point system and
it's not wins and losses, like you know, what's your record.
I think Patrick is a little confused because he was
sort of continuing with this, you know, one loss record.
I'm like, we're not doing one loss. It's a points system,
(01:08:54):
and you announced last week that I had a five
point lead. You decided to start digging in to the
actual point system that we had established at the beginning
of the year and found out that I did not
have a five point lead. I actually only had a
one point lead going into last week. So that sets
it up. I had a one point lead going into
(01:09:16):
last week. So update everybody on how we did last week.
Speaker 11 (01:09:21):
Well, this is why I am not a Game Day genius.
It is you two here, okay, but this one over
here did put his math on, and you know what,
we have cleared up everything where our records stand right
now the new leader and leader in the clubhouse, Miss
Monsey Monopoly belos. We got twenty four Steve at twenty okay.
Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
So here's what happened last week's week. We had three
games to pick. You got them all right, I got
them all wrong minus. But then we also do over unders.
Now it's optional, but the optional is sort of a
win lose because if you get it right, you get
a point, but if you get it wrong, you lose
a point. So not only did I lose all three
(01:10:08):
games head to head against you, I also had two
over unders that both lost, so I actually ended up
with negative two points right to your three. So I
went from a one point lead to a four point deficit.
And Moncey, I have made this clear. I have never
ever beaten anybody.
Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
No, you can't say that. So I had to actually,
you know, start trying again.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
All right, So here we go. So Moncey now has
a four point lead in our stable scoring system. And
by the way, just to update you, right now, Texas
is at the nineteen yard line. There's twenty two seconds left.
And did they just fumble?
Speaker 4 (01:10:44):
I think they just fumbled. Oh no, oh.
Speaker 1 (01:10:48):
No, did Georgia just recover? I fumbled fourth and fifteen
actually right now on the TV. Well, the ruling is
we got to figure out the ruling on this first
of all. So the ball was caught, he caught it. No,
he dropped, No, he dropped it, just dropped it. Okay,
So that is not a fumble, it's an incomplete pass.
So Texas is now going to go for a field
(01:11:09):
goal to try to tie this game up with seventeen
seconds left, all right, So Patrick, let's get this thing started.
Speaker 11 (01:11:16):
All right, we're gonna go with my first of three
of the week, and it is a new week, everybody.
We have the Atlanta Falcons taking on my Minnesota Vikings.
Over under is forty five and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:11:31):
Our new fearless leader in the clubhouse. Moncey, you get
to go first.
Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
I mean, listen, I understand that the Falcons at one
point maybe you thought they were a little bit better now.
I just don't think the Falcons have an identity when
the Vikings?
Speaker 4 (01:11:48):
Did he miss?
Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Oh? No, no, the Texas guy just missed?
Speaker 5 (01:11:53):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:11:54):
Was that early?
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Oh my gosh, it was earlier. They were showing the
earlier kick. All scared me there, I know we missed
one early. I'm like, did he miss again? No? Auburn
is the guy's name unless he went to Auburn. So
here we go. They're still going to kick, all right,
So you're.
Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
Gonna taking the Vikings, no questions asked. I'm taking the Vikings.
I don't know what the Falcons are.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
I am not going to take the Falcons. I'm going
to take the Vikings as well. The question is am
I going to look at that over under try to
get back over under forty forty five and a half.
Forty five and a half twenty four to twenty one
is forty five. That would be an under.
Speaker 11 (01:12:30):
Plus any bolds if you want to do bolts. I
know I'm looking at this too.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
All right, all right, I'm going to do a bold prediction.
What's that? So last week Kirk Cousins, here's the kick,
by the way, is good. So Texas has tied this
game up with Georgia eighteen seconds left. So last week
Kirk Cousins through four interceptions against the Chargers. I'm going
to predict that Kirk Cousins is going to do it
(01:12:57):
two weeks in a row. Wow, innerceptions in this game
against that great Minnesota Vikings defense.
Speaker 11 (01:13:06):
That's a bowl. That's a Kirk Cousins slander, and I'm
all here for it.
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
Let's go. I love the bold Macy any over unders or.
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Bolts, I'm actually gonna take the over.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
Wow, We're gonna take the over.
Speaker 5 (01:13:21):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
Hello, I like it. I like that, all right. I
tell you what. We're gonna get to the other two
games on the other side where it looks like we're
gonna be heading to overtime. Here in this game between
Texas and Georgia and the SEC Championship game. We're coming
alive from the tire rack dot com studios. This is
Fox Football Saturday. Well you got that right, the best
(01:13:43):
time of the year. We got overtime going on right
now in the SEC Championship game between Texas and Georgia.
A couple more conference championship games coming up. This is
Fox Football Saturday. We're live from the tire rack dot
com studios. I want to thank Martin's getting ready for
his own show doing updates today Mary mc of course
she was without here. How the holiday season going so
(01:14:06):
far for you? Mary Mac?
Speaker 12 (01:14:08):
I just spent like an hour going back and forth
between the bathroom and the studio doing my makeup. Martin
fond of ring light in the studio and gave it
to me. So it's been going pretty well.
Speaker 4 (01:14:18):
Yes, so sorry that is the anchor ring light.
Speaker 12 (01:14:21):
I don't even know that, Yeah, Dan, that's my guys
haven't been seeing my head for on the floor.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
Are those eyelashes jumping right through the like, oh my gosh,
you know they are? They are real?
Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Wow, same with yours, Patrick Steve, very very impressive with
those eyelashes, all right, Uh, let's let's get let's get
back to the games. We have two more games, so
we're gonna have to boogie here. So, well, got two
more games here, bathroom? All right, Well it tastes two
to tango.
Speaker 11 (01:14:55):
But uh and you know what they're tangling down in
Arizona because you got my Seattles Shawks taking on the
Arizona Cardinals in Arizona, Part two of this over under
his forty.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
Four and a half. And you know what we're gonna
go with you first, Steve?
Speaker 11 (01:15:10):
Since Montson went first, Steve, what are we feeling since
you're the Phoenix guy?
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
All Right, So I'm down four points and I feel
like there are games that I'm gonna have to figure out.
Cardinals coming off that devastating loss of the Vikings, the
game they should have won did not. Now they're home, right,
they should be good. They are home. They are home,
Seahawks big comeback win last week. Seahawks defense is better,
Cardinals offense isn't playing well. I'm trying to get a
(01:15:37):
feed on her horse switched. I think I think we
just got a feed. All right. It sounds like you
really like Seattle in this game.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Then I will take the Cardinals at home. I will
take the Cardinals at home to tie up this NFC West,
I'll take Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
I actually don't know on this one, and I'm gonna
be at the game, and my friends are Seahawks fans,
so she would definitely want me to pick the Seahawks.
They do have like a point a thirty seven point
differential in the final two minutes before halftime and at
the end of regulation. That's how good the Seahawks are
playing right now. I'm gonna take the Seahawks because you
(01:16:15):
took the car but if you would have taken the Seahaws,
I would have taken the Cardinals. That's how I really
don't know how it's gonna go, all.
Speaker 1 (01:16:20):
Right, So what's the over under on this one? Forty
four and a half? I was old too last week.
A couple weeks before that, I was two and zero.
Are aware be forty four? Twenty four to twenty one
is an over? Come on? They can't get forty five points.
I'm going over in the game. He's going over. Do
(01:16:40):
we have any bolder?
Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
I have a bold.
Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
Trey McBride has yet to score a touchdown for Arizona.
Speaker 4 (01:16:46):
I say he scores twice.
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
Wow, okay, I'll give that to you. That's all. That's
for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:16:51):
I like cav yet this year has some.
Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
Score touchdown that's actually shocking.
Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
It is his numbers wouldn't show that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:57):
Oh all right, no bold for me. I'm ready to move.
Speaker 11 (01:17:00):
Well, we got we saved the best for last and
Moncy delease please don't kill me. So we're picking Moncey's
Los Angeles Superchargers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs forty
two and a half. Moncey, You're going first because you
know what you it's your team, this is your receipt.
Speaker 5 (01:17:19):
Go for it.
Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
You know there's been times when I have picked against
my team.
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
That is not this week.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
I am taking the Chargers upsetting the Chiefs and Kansas City.
Speaker 4 (01:17:31):
That's right, I love it. I'm not picking against the
Chargers this week.
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
I'm gonna do two things on this game. One, I'm
gonna pick the Chiefs. The over under is like ten,
what is then, and it's a low numbers, low number
they're going below that night. Wow, I'm taking the Chiefs
and I'm taking the under.
Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Down under down under mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Yeah, I'm trying to catch up this week here, that's true.
Any bowlds in this one, are you going to go
with the over? Under? As well?
Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
The blunder is very it's attractive, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:18:10):
You're saying under Mason very attractive to go over.
Speaker 1 (01:18:13):
Yeah, that's a two point swing there, that's a two
point swing right there. Confidence scale. Let's see bold in
this game. I'm gonna I ready for this. See if
I was born, ready go for it. So Justin Herbert
has thrown one interception in this season? Am I right?
Speaker 8 (01:18:30):
Still?
Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
He's at one? Correct, he'll have two in this game. Relax,
That is that boling?
Speaker 5 (01:18:37):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Justin Herbert will throw at least two interceptions in this game. Wow,
I don't like that at all.
Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:45):
Well, I know you don't like it. Don't like it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:47):
I don't like that at all. No, I don't have
a bowl for this. I'll have a bold.
Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
She's bold, just picking the charge.
Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
Yeah, I should not that.
Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
That's gonna be good stuff. Honestly, we're sitting here now.
Moncey won't be here in the morning. We still have
seven games in the morning. Yeah, which is weird because
remember three games essentially eliminated because we have six teams
with the bye week and then after that full slate
of games for more weeks after that. How is it
possible that the season is so close.
Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
To the finish and it's going to go buy in
the blink of an eye, because it's December.
Speaker 5 (01:19:23):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
Right now, I'm looking at Texas and Georgia. Did Texas
not score?
Speaker 4 (01:19:29):
It looks like it's fourth down.
Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
Because all right, so right now, Texas with the ball
first in the overtime and they are still trying to
get the ball in the end zone. They threw a
little short pass that went down at the fifteen yard line,
so they're going to go for a field goal here
to try to get at least some points on the board,
and then we'll see what Georgia does again. Georgia playing
with their backup quarterback Carson Beck got hurt in the
(01:19:54):
first half. The kick is up and it is good.
Good so Texas so the three point lake. Keep it
here for all the latest. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
Bye
