Straight boyer for Friday, November the fourteenth. A decent Thursday
night football game last night. Hey, listen, it was an
upgrade over Broncos Raiders last week, and hell, you could
argue it was an upgrade over Packers Eagles on Monday
Night football. My Jets, this was like almost an ideal loss,

if you will. They fight hard, take a seven to
nothing lead, They're within one score heading into the fourth quarter, right,
so it's competitive. They lose. Now, I told you guys,
I bet the Patriots. They covered every number except fourteen. Now,
I don't think it was on fourteen. Long. I feel
like everybody won on this one, with the Patriots covering

eleven and a half, twelve and a half, thirteen, twelve
and a half, thirteen was a push and they dropped
to two and eight. Now, listen, the one wrinkle is
in survivor. You know, we realized that like fifty percent
of the pool was on the Patriots. So for like
ten minutes, I was like, please, Jets, can you get
the dub. I'll take the gambling losses to knock out

half the pool and survivor Jets could not do it.
Justin Fields the opening drive of the Jets, where basically
Justin Fields was running on every other play, reminded me
of Riley Leonard at Notre Dame last year against Ohio State.
Basically Notre Dame shot their wade with Riley Leonard running
every play. Seemingly they get the touchdown in the lead,

everybody's fired up, and then reality struck because they like
had no CounterPunch, you know, So the Jets essentially came
out opening drive. Hey, you know, Breise Hall is doing
some things, Justin Field's doing some things, but ultimately the
Jets had no offense whatsoever without Garrett Wilson and without
a quarterback is a rough, rough offensive unit. Justin Field's

throwing for a whopping one hundred and sixteen yards. He
rushed for sixty seven. The Jets had one explosive play
all game, and it was a touchdown. It was to
John Metchi a twenty two yarder. Target share ad and
I Mitchell one catch on six targets, the new guy
from the Colts getting worked into the offense. Ideally, the

Jets can get a wide you know, there's a lot
of options in the draft, and I don't know that
Mendoz is going to be the guy for the Jets.
We'll see, but they needed a number two receiver for sure,
to go next to Wilson and then Adam I Mitchell,
I think has a really put good three kind of
your streaky downfield guy in the say, Christian Watson role.

Mitchell's got some wheels. I think he's got a lot
of potential. He's a young guy that he was a
throw in on the Quinn Williams deall He's only twenty
three years old. It's early Breese Hall. I'm glad they
kept him and Braylin Allen should be back here in
a couple of weeks. The tough running back out of Wisconsin,
young kid. I'm just I like the Jets' future. It's
just not right now for the Patriots. Hey, Drake May

continues to look incredible. Treveon Henderson unbelievable. So someone in
my son's fantasy league dropped Henderson early this season, and
of course my son, needing a win this week to
get in the playoffs, has to face Henderson and he
drops twenty nine points last night. I mean that guy's good.
You know, he looks exactly like he did at Ohio State.

It's almost as if the Patriots said, you know what,
Henderson does this, that and the other really, well, let's
just have him do that. No Romandre Stevenson, and Henderson
goes for sixty two and two touchdowns on the ground.
Jets run defense was actually quite good, but the pass
defense just hemorrhaging yards. Digs cooked them Nat Collins, Hunter Henry.

It was just like a total team effort. The problem
with the Jets pass defense, it's like Aftersauce, they don't
really have much. Brandon Stevens, who's a former Raven He's
just he's not very good, and they Jet's gonna have
to rebuild that secondary. You know, Stevens could probably I
don't know that he's a slot corner. He maybe could be,

you're one of your outside guys. But I don't know
what Aaron Glenn wants to do. I don't know if
he wants to play zone man. I don't know what
he's if he's gonna tinker justice draft needs accordingly. But
I do like the Jermaine Johnson, Will McDonald combo they
were getting after May it's just they just don't have enough,
you know. And now we've said enough about the Jets
heading into the weekend. We will obviously do best bets

at the end of the podcast. So one quick piece
of NFL news before I jump into this Austin Reef stuff. So,
in a mild surprise, Brock Purdy is going to start
for the Niners against Arizona this weekend. Now, if you

want to be one of these conspiracy theorists, wait a minute.
Perdy hasn't really practiced much. What's going on? Is he
rushing back because Mac Jones just threw for three hundred
yards and a pretty efficient outing against the Rams and
a loss. Is that why Perdy's rushing back? This toe
has been befuddling. I don't know about you guys. I've

had a lot of injuries, hamstring, knee, ankle, quad, whatever.
I've never really had a major toe injury. But for
him to be out from week four, I don't totally
understand that. Perdy was limited in practice Wednesday and was
limited again Thursday, but Shanahan said, I'm sorry. He was

a full practice Thursday, and Shanahan said he's gonna start
against Arizona. Now here's the good news. Perdy is in
a good spot because the Arizona Cardinals' injury report is
just dotted with names. It's unclear if their best cornerback
Will Johnson is gonna go. He missed last week and
my goodness, JS and what nuts? So Marvin Harrison Junior

is down with an illness. Will Johnson still not practicing
with the back hip. They got a safety down, a
linebacker Mac Wilson down, another linebacker Browning down. Josh Sweat
did not practice. It's unclear he's listed his rest on
the injury report. But I'll be honest, if it's Thursday
and Josh Sweat's missing, I think something could be up.

We'll see, but this would be a great spot for
Purdy to kind of get back into the flow and
get the Niners cooking. Now here's the other mystery. Is
Ricky pearsoll gonna play? He's been at practice, he has
done nothing for weeks. He's been out with his knee injury.
What's up with Brandon Aiyuk? I just I can't get

over these Niners injuries. But they need him because they
will whoever loses Rams or Seahawks. The Niners instantly will
pick up ground if they beat Arizona. Problemse Arizona's kind
of good in Arizona. With Jacoby Brissette, I don't know
if there's enough tape on Brissette. And I think we
said this last week. You know, first couple of weeks
it's like, Okay, he's doing some things, and then it's like,

all right, we've seen Brissette a lot, we know his tendencies,
we know where he wants to go. And Seattle just
ate it up right and without Harrison and Zay Jones
now had the Achilles, it's basically the Trey McBride show.
I think the Niners can do well here and I'm
excited to see Perdy get back in the lineup. You
guys don't. I'm a big rock pretty fan.

So on the Herd Thursday Coward and I you know,
we're talking about Austin Reeves because he's not as high
on Reeves as I am. And there was a report
that the Lakers have fielded twenty offers for Austin Reeves

in over a year because he's on that great contract,
and reportedly the Lakers said, we're not trading Reeves for
anybody unless it's Giannis or Jokich, which is kind of
comical but a good way to get people to stop calling.
With these low ball offers for Austin Reeves, we like
them a lot. So with the All Star Game this weekend,
they announced the new format for the All Star Game,

and it was like one of those ussa versus the World,
but it's kind of wonky because they're doing three teams,
two USA teams of eight, so sixteen USA players, and
one World team which is all international and there's some
round robin tournament blah blah blah. So they're gonna pick
the All Star players the same as it has been
(08:51):
for years. Fans and media vote for ten starters, five
from the East, five from the West, then a vote
of the coaches will select the seven backups. But the
one big difference is it's positionless. Fans will be able
to vote for five guards or I don't know. If
(09:11):
you want five centers to start, they will no longer
be locked into two backcourt and three front court players.
The same will be true for reserves. So the NBA
is going positionless. We know that, and they're gonna apply
it to the All Star Game. This is where it
gets interesting. Sixteen American players, the USA players, okay, are

gonna make the All Star Game. I am gonna challenge
you that Austin Reeves is among those sixteen, and you're
gonna hear that and say, well, there's no way Austin
Reeve is one of the best sixteen best American players
in the league. And I will say, actually, because of
injuries to Lebron to Halliburton, Halliburton would be on the

team for sure, Jason Tatum one hundred percent beyond the team.
I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else. Lebron probably would be
on the team. I don't know if you're gonna get
voted if you or are you ineligible for the All
Star Game if you only play I don't know twenty
of the forty five games when the All Star break

comes up, So we'll go through the best guys in
the league. Giannis obviously international SGA from Canada International. I
think Tabrese Max he's an All Star. I think Donovan
Mitchell's an All Star Jokic international. Would you guys believe
that Austin Reeves is sixth in the NBA in scoring
right now? I'm not even kidding. Six in the NBA
and scoring a twenty eighty game. Now you could say

it's a short hot streak. Fine, okay, oh whatever, I
don't care. Cave Cunningham is an American All Star. I
think Josh Giddy, the Australian, will push to be an
All Star if he keeps playing well. Bulls are kind
of falling off here, Water finds his level. James Harden's interesting.
I mean, he's fine, But is James Harden gonna get

the not over Austin Reeves? Now, I'm not asking you
if James Harden's better right now than Austin Reeves. Harden's
at twenty three and eight shooting thirty seven percent from three.
Austin Reeves is at twenty eight and eight shooting thirty
percent from three. Harden has had some Kawhi, Austin has
had some Luca. So that's an interesting one. It's unclear

if Harden will get the not over Reeves, but right now,
I'll tell you like, John moramp Ain't getting the not
over Austin Reeves. There's no way that's happening. Stefan Castle
is young. I mean, he's having an incredible season. You
got guys like Sheng Goon International, I mean, Devin Booker
obviously USA. Now, Jalen Brunson went down with an injury.

He's gonna make the Austar team, but he's got this
ankle thing, probably gonna be out a week. And you
start looking at the Americans and you're like, oh, Austin
Reeves is actually a content. Lori Marknen will be international.
Steph Curry will make the American Jay Brown will make
the American Wemby International. And it's like Kevin Durant's gonna

make it. Amen Thompson probably will make it. Benko is
gonna get the vote. But you start asking, like, Okay,
Zach Lavine or Austin Reeves, who's more deserving than All
Star this year? I love Zach Lavine early. I mean
Austin Reeves helped get them to a eight and three star. Obviously,
it's gonna tail off, Jamal Mrie International, Franz Wagner International,

and you start looking down the list and you're like,
I think Austin Reeves is in their interesting name to
watch is Jalen Johnson out of Atlanta. He is really
good and just had one of the great games of
the young season against the Jazz last night. Thirty one
eighteen boards, fourteen assists. That's an insane game. Obviously, everybody

knows the Hawks are going to be trying to build
around Jalen Johnson. He's the kid who went to do
during one of those COVID years and then quit because
they were kind of stinky, and everybody ripped him, and
I was like, this guy's immensely talented. He's a walking
double double and can play some point guard. He's got
a handle, he's a creator. I mean, this guy's good.

He's shooting forty percent from three this season. He's a
foundational piece. I don't know that he's going to be
an All Star above Austin Reeves, but I'm just telling
you right now. But given the injuries in the NBA
to USA players like Zion, he's always he's still hurt.
Austin Reeds is going to be one of the sixteen
American All Stars if this keeps up. Now, if he

tails off and he's averaging, you know, ten points a
game for a month, obviously not and Lebron's going to
eat into his numbers a little bit. But one would
think that Lakers will be a good contending team in
the West. So I know I'm a rationally high on
Austin Reeves. I dressed up as Austin Reeves on the Herd.
I'm just telling you guys right now, given the new
All Star format and the injuries to some stars, I

believe Austin Reaves will be an All Star. Check back

not amazing. I haven't fired on nothing yet on Georgia, Texas.
I'm leaning Georgia. Nothing yet on Alabama Oklahoma. I see
some smart people liking Oklahoma just because Alabama hasn't crushed anyone.
I don't know. I haven't bet against Alabama at all

this season, but when I back them, my guy ty
Sinson delivers. Here we go. Penn State minus seven and
a half. Impressive showing last week against Indiana, and I
think they go to East Lanting and put it on
Michigan State. Michigan State's terrible. Penn State actually looks like
a competent program, like the guys are buying into whatever
the interim coach is selling. I got Iowa plus seven

plus seven minus one twenty. I went with that simply
because I don't really trust USC not to get caught
looking ahead. I think us he probably wins, but I
think it's a close game, and it's it's rain expected
at the coliseum. This one's a little ballsy. I'm on
Florida plus fourteen and a half, but the numbers going
my way down to thirteen and a half at Oxford

against Ole Miss. Ole Miss, of course, lost last year
to Florida, which cost him a spot in the College
Football Playoff. Everybody's saying, oh, revenge, revenge. Listen, Florida is
not great. I want to see who starts a quarterback
if Florida probably loses this by thirty. But you know what,
I'm gonna take a chance. I'm going Gators. I took
the points. Not a huge play, but I'm on Florida.

Let's see what else we got here, smaller plays. You
guys know, I love me some Texas Tech, so I
have them plus five hundred to make the college football Playoff.
That's from back in August. Feels like a lock. I
don't want to see a slip up here. They face
youc F this week. You see f as solid but
not nearly in the Texas Tech class. The line's twenty four.
So I took the points, just thinking a little bit

of a let down after the BYU game for Texas Tech.
I took the twenty four I am on Washington State
minus seven, rounding out what is not really a robust card. Now.
I have spent a lot of time on the NFL
this week. Most of it's because in the circle millions,
which I weirdly keep saying is a three million dollar contest. Guys,

dollar contest. Now. The good news is I'm competitive. I've
moved up to six hundred and eleventh, but I'm tied
for six hundred eleventh out of five thousand and before
you think, oh, you got no chance, Yeah, I get that.
I understand that. But the top I believe it's a
top one hundred get paid, and I'm not that far off.

I think I'm three games off of the top of
getting paid. That's with a long way to go, obviously,
So I spend a lot of time. I'll quickly buzz
through the games Washington Miami. Unfortunately, I have bet more
money on Miami in this spot than any other game
this week. I do not love that. I have a
lot of two and a half, so I have a
two I have some three. I just think Miami gets done.

But of course, listen, this is the Miami Dolphins we're
talking about. They're not a great football team. I have
a good line that I was gonna burn on the herd.
Let me know how this hits. The rain in Spain
falls mainly on a chan. I guess I need to
say a chain that doesn't ring it, that doesn't hit
as hard. Anyways, I don't think dan Quinn a company

could stop Miami's offense when they're humming and locked in.
One would hope think Daniels got them locked in. Panthers Falcons.
I have zero dollars on this game, but I'm leaning
Falcons minus three and a half. This is pretty much
season on the line for Atlanta if they want to
make any comeback. If you combine a Tampa loss in
Buffalo with an Atlanta win, all of a sudden, it
gets interesting. They still have one more head to head matchup.

It was super close last time. Their kicker let them down.
Leaning Falcons nothing yet, I'm one of the Bills minus
five and a half against Tampa in what appears to
be a kind of a bad weather game. We talked
a lot with ta about this yesterday. I'm not going
to dig into it. Buffalo should bounce back here at
home against just not a great Tampa team. Guys, They're

just not great. They were winning with smoke and mirrors
earlier this season. Now they're injured. Doesn't seem like their
horses are back yet. Godwin's close, but I'm on the
Buffalo Bills minus five and a half half Texans Titans
is the tough one. You know, we want him in Survivor.
The lines dipped to six Davis Mills at the Helm.
I gotta check the injury reports, but that one for

Thinking maybe Stroud plays. I'm hopeful for the Texans Bears Vikings.
This is I've gone back and forth on this so
many times, and ultimately, if Darisou plays the left tackle

You know, the Caleb Williams stuff, Guys, if you look
at his games against Flores earlier this season, not good.
They were winning at home, but that's mostly because of
the Minnesota offense and JJ McCarthy's first start last year.
Caleb Williams good at home. Right against Minnesota on the road,
he was terrible. They got destroyed, and I just wonder
if things get a little crazy in the Dome and

flores diws up some stuff again. This is one of
those weekends where there's so many games that could determine seasons.
If Minnesota loses, I think they're done. I really do.
I mean, if you look at the schedule, I don't
think there's a pass of the playoffs for them. Next up, Packers, Giants.
I'm on the Packers, so I have minus six and

a half. I'm probably gonna take them on the contest.
I don't see how you can look at the Giants
here at all. I know green Bay's one and six
ats in their last seven, but this is a bad
injured defense, and I really do believe green Bay gets
right again. Look at these defenses. Lafleur has struggled with
put Carolina aside because that was a trap game. But

they rolled over green Bay. Okay, they didn't punt against Carolina.
If you want to kill them, Eagles defense is good.
I think I like green Bay here, guys. I know
it's not gonna be popular, which is fine, fine by me.
I'm on these Steelers. Oh boy, you know I don't
like the Steelers Bengals off of by divisional matchup. This
feels like a trap Mike Tomlin if he's good at

low numbers or as an underdog. I don't love this.
But I'm on the Steelers minus five and a half.
Passing on Chargers Jags for now, it would be Jaggs
plus three or nothing. Seahawks Rams. You know I have
a little bit of Rams here minus three. My feeling
is there's game day money on Seattle. I think it's
a high scoring game. Look at it. The over. Oh

It is not looking good. For the Arizona offense, and

in the world's on the Chiefs. I would love for
to get a four and a half. I'll wait because
I don't think we're gonna see any Denver money. I'm

the Lions. Sorry, Detroit outdoors. I think they're fine. I
do kind of want to load up on the Cowboys
on Monday Night football, but I see that's at three
and a half and I'm just hopeful that somebody, some
dumb Raiders money comes in on game day pushes it

had a lot of injuries, hamstring, knee, ankle, quad, whatever.
I've never really had a major toe injury. But for
him to be out from week four, I don't totally
understand that. Perdy was limited in practice Wednesday and was

a full practice Thursday, and Shanahan said he's gonna start
against Arizona. Now here's the good news. Perdy is in
a good spot because the Arizona Cardinals' injury report is

is down with an illness. Will Johnson still not practicing

will whoever loses Rams or Seahawks. The Niners instantly will

said this last week. You know, first couple of weeks
it's like, Okay, he's doing some things, and then it's like,

and reportedly the Lakers said, we're not trading Reeves for
anybody unless it's Giannis or Jokich, which is kind of
comical but a good way to get people to stop calling.
With these low ball offers for Austin Reeves, we like
them a lot. So with the All Star Game this weekend,
they announced the new format for the All Star Game,

and it was like one of those ussa versus the World,
but it's kind of wonky because they're doing three teams,
two USA teams of eight, so sixteen USA players, and
one World team which is all international and there's some
round robin tournament blah blah blah. So they're gonna pick
the All Star players the same as it has been

for years. Fans and media vote for ten starters, five
from the East, five from the West, then a vote
of the coaches will select the seven backups. But the
one big difference is it's positionless. Fans will be able
to vote for five guards or I don't know. If

you want five centers to start, they will no longer
be locked into two backcourt and three front court players.
The same will be true for reserves. So the NBA
is going positionless. We know that, and they're gonna apply
it to the All Star Game. This is where it
gets interesting. Sixteen American players, the USA players, okay, are

gonna make the All Star Game. I am gonna challenge
you that Austin Reeves is among those sixteen, and you're
gonna hear that and say, well, there's no way Austin
Reeve is one of the best sixteen best American players
in the league. And I will say, actually, because of
injuries to Lebron to Halliburton, Halliburton would be on the

team for sure, Jason Tatum one hundred percent beyond the team.
I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else. Lebron probably would be

knows the Hawks are going to be trying to build
around Jalen Johnson. He's the kid who went to do

a handle, he's a creator. I mean, this guy's good.

foundational piece. I don't know that he's going to be
an All Star above Austin Reeves, but I'm just telling
you right now. But given the injuries in the NBA
to USA players like Zion, he's always he's still hurt.

American All Stars if this keeps up. Now, if he

tails off and he's averaging, you know, ten points a
game for a month, obviously not and Lebron's going to
eat into his numbers a little bit. But one would
think that Lakers will be a good contending team in
the West. So I know I'm a rationally high on

because I don't really trust USC not to get caught

money on Miami in this spot than any other game

two I have some three. I just think Miami gets done.

talking about. They're not a great football team. I have
a good line that I was gonna burn on the herd.

Buffalo with an Atlanta win, all of a sudden, it
gets interesting. They still have one more head to head matchup.

Leaning Falcons nothing yet, I'm one of the Bills minus
five and a half against Tampa in what appears to
be a kind of a bad weather game. We talked

home against just not a great Tampa team. Guys, They're

just not great. They were winning with smoke and mirrors
earlier this season. Now they're injured. Doesn't seem like their

is the tough one. You know, we want him in Survivor.

I don't see how you can look at the Giants
here at all. I know green Bay's one and six

injured defense, and I really do believe green Bay gets

If you want to kill them, Eagles defense is good.
