Speaker 2 (02:18):
The weather finally cool down. It's a little bit. Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
You know this weekend, man, it was scorching hot. You know,
elist people, we had a heat wave come through here. Man,
it was like one hundred plus for like Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesdays. So, uh, cool down a little bit, man.
Everything is beautiful, man, Just relaxing on the uh, you know,
a nice Saturday, and we're gonna give these people. Wanna
give the listeners what they wanted, what they want to hear.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Okay, let's start here. Then that's that's a great segue.
Let's start here. Ravens kicking great former Ravens now former
raven Uh. Justin Tucker.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
Now he's he's been released.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
By uh the Ravens obviously multiple allegations of sexual inappropriate
behavior in a Baltimore area massage therapist, but he.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Got suspended the suspension.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Just was released and he's suspended for ten weeks under
violations of personal conduct policy that the league announced on Thursday.
So here's my question to you guys, Justin Tucker, because
I had this conversation and maybe I feel like I'm
rethinking it. Maybe I feel a little bit differently about it,

(03:28):
maybe today just because I've had some time to sit
on it. But I'm curious as to what you guys
think at this point in Justin Tucker's career and how
he kind of really had underwhelming performances last season. Do
you feel as though after the ten weeks of the

(03:51):
suspension when he's eligible for reinstatement, do you feel as
though he's thirty five years old? So he's not crazy old,
He's not that old. He came into the league, he
I guess he was. Let me see, do we know
what year he came into the league. He was drafted

(04:12):
in what twenty twelve? He went undrafted? He didn't get
drafted twenty twelve, So he's been around for thirteen years.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
I mean, he's been around.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Do you guys think that he will get reinstated and
picked up by a team or do you believe that
this could be the end for Justin Tucker. My original
thought was that this is it, Like, who's going to
want to bring in Justin Tucker after these allegations, Everything
that's going on, whether people want to admit it or not. Culture,

(04:48):
it clashes with football culture, the Diddy stuff going on,
the stuff that happened with Deshaun Watson. I take all
those things in the consideration. I think there's more knowledge
and there's more more focused on these types of allegations
because he was never found guilty of anything. But these
types of allegations, I think there's more of a spotlight

(05:10):
on them now. So the way Deshaun Watson was able
to kind of get through it, I don't think Justin
Tucker can get through it. Do you guys see it
playing out any differently? Does he get picked up after
his ten game suspension and gets reinstated. I believe it's over.
It's a rap.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
He had a hell of a career, but the league
is not playing about these type of things.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Man.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
We know that first it was Deshaun Watson. They did
all they could with that. He settled a lot of cases.
Or we may have not seen Deshaun Watson play again.
We will never know. But with Justin Tucker in this
a ten game suspension is obviously not the year suspension

(05:57):
that Deshaun Watson had, but it's obviously it's something there.
And because he is thirty five, because he is a Kickerer,
I believe it's over.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Man.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I don't see another team going out of their way
to sign him. You're probably gonna get some negative feedback
from your fan base. Is it really worth it? Is
what he may bring to the team worth the animosity
and anger that you make calls to some fans.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I don't believe it's worth it. Justin Tucker had a
great career of.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Wishing the best, you know what, I believe it's the
exact opposite. I really do. If we go back and
look at, you know, what has transpired with the whole
Deshaun Watson thing, and can we all agree that what
DeShawn Watson went through is worse than the allegations against

(06:56):
Justin Tucker. I guess because there's just way more okay,
And now we're talking about, you know, his age as
being the kicker I played with a guy with Nick Fulk.
I believe he kicked until he was forty years old,
seventeen seasons with five teams. So I don't think age
is going to play a factor at all. As far

(07:17):
as him, you know, joining the team after his ten
game suspension, I really believe that somebody is going to
reach out there and you know, sign him for the
for the last seven games of the year, because I
believe some team, some kicker is going to get the
yips during the season and they are going to look

(07:39):
for an accurate kicker going down the stretch and going
into the playoffs. I mean granted, he had his worst
season as a kicker last year, kicking at seventy three percent,
but maybe he was just going through all the stress
that he was having on him during that time. But
I really honestly believe that somebody's going to sign him
after his ten games suspend. And you know, are these

(08:02):
are He's said that these all these allegations are unequivocally false. Uh,
he hasn't said that he was guilty. Are these accusations
or has he been proven guilty?

Speaker 6 (08:16):
Yeah, no, he hasn't been proven guilty.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
And so he agreed, So he agreed to basically say
you know what, he's saying, he's guilty by taking this
ten game suspension instead of letting the NFL hand down
the suspension. So he's saying that he's guilty by taking
it the suspension, but also saying I didn't do any

(08:41):
of these things that these people are saying. So you know,
we've been down this road with Deshaun Watson, but I
do believe after his tenth game NFL team will sign him.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
M hm.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
You know, during during the week when this when this
news broke, I was totally in alignment with what you said, TJ.
I felt like it's not worth the headache to do it.
But having a couple of days to think about it,
I kind of it's like kind of a mix where

(09:15):
I think there's there's some validity to what you're saying, Plex,
because now I see it from the standpoint of he
gets reinstated. The dude is a seven time first team
All Pro.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, but you know how, you know how he kicked
last year?

Speaker 5 (09:31):
He didn't kick well, and a lot of people felt
as though maybe it was from the stress of knowing
that these allegations were getting closer and closer to the
media surface, and and so you know, there maybe his
mind wasn't there. Maybe all of this coming out and
him losing his ability to be able to kick and
play in the National Football League for ten weeks, is

(09:54):
is his ability to maybe start over. I mean, maybe
that's maybe that's what takes place here. I look at
it like this, While I said I thought it was over,
he may get another opportunity based off of what you said, Plex,
meaning the playoffs may be on the line. You know,

(10:14):
like you said, kickers got the yips. He comes in,
it's like, okay, we bring them in. I bet you
it's not even going to be a leash. You can't
even say it's short enough to be a lease. It's
it's a caller, right. You bring justin Tucker in, you're
holding him by the collar. You ain't even putting him
on a leash. It's not a short or long leash.
If he comes in and he can kick, now it

(10:36):
becomes a redemption story. If he comes in and he
can't kick, then you just get rid of him. It
was it was a try, no redemption story. He's out
of there, no big thing.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
We know how this business works.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
We were and they are in a performance driven business.
He gets to a team, he goes out, makes a
few kicks, maybe maybe makes a game winning kick for
the team to win the game or tie break or
whatever the case may be. Nobody's talking about this, and

(11:14):
we know how it goes. You go out, you play well,
you do your job, you do what you're supposed to do,
and it's going to be one of those things that
will be swept under the rug. They may mention it
or whatever the case may be, but we won't be
talking about it in the fashion that we are speaking
about it today.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yeah. I just really believe man because he's a kicker, Like.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
He's just too important enough.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Yeah, Like it's the other way around. He's a kicker.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
He's a really good kicker.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
There was there's a million and one kicks out there, exactly,
there's so many of them, and.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Of them ain't too many.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Justin Tuckers, I believe it's the exact.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
It's a lot of them. It's a lot of them
away he kicked last year. All I know is what
have you done for me lately? And last year he
wasn't very good?

Speaker 2 (12:08):
What very good?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
And you can say it was he had this over
his head, you know, the cloud. Well, don't put yourself
in that situation, and you wouldn't have that over here.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
Hey, hey, don't nobody get no excuses for why they
don't perform this performance driven?

Speaker 6 (12:25):
I mean, that just is what it is.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Either we make the player, we don't, and we both
have made our fair share, and we both haven't made
our fair shop. I mean, that's that's how it goes.
And so you are a kicker, you doing this. But
the good thing he had a hell of a career.
If Vintary, if they putting kickers in the Hall of Fame,
he getting in Justin.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Tucker is.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Outside of happened in our in our lifetime, right outside
of Vinitary, who would you say is a better kicker?
And so, yeah, he knockdown huge kicks. I'm talking. He
was kicking fifty yarders like they were thirty yarders he
started at and Greg long field goals was kicking like
they were short field goals and he was making them.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
But when you are a kicker man, it's over.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
All right.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Well, listen, we're gonna talk Buccaneers, as I mentioned, but
we're also we're gonna talk a little bit of Pittsburgh Steelers.
I'm interested in this conversation. It's been a lot of it.
Ben Roethlisberger had some interesting things to say about Aaron Rodgers. Yeah,

(13:40):
and Patrick Mahomes about that. You'll hear about that, You'll
learn about it, and you'll get our opinions about it.

before we went to the break, we were discussing or
brought up and teased the conversation that was being had
by your former loved one and still a loved one,
former teammate, Ben Roethlisberger plex and its interesting. There's been

(15:27):
a lot of conversations about Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers had
some interesting things to say when he was on the
Pat McAfee show as well. Let's hear what Ben had
to say, and then we'll hear what Aaron Rodgers had
to say about what he's got going on in the
future his career as an NFL ball player.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
But here's what Ben Roethlisberger had to say.

Speaker 8 (15:47):
Well, I would take Aaron and his prime over Patrick
Now I think, yeah, I think Aaron Rodgers at his
prime was one of the top few to ever do it,
and so is Patrick Mahomes prime. Patrick Mahomes is just
just like entering out of his prime, I think.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
I mean, well, that was.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Interesting that Ben said he would take Aaron Rodgers over
Patrick Mahomes and his prime. We all are entitled to
our opinions, but here's the reality of that, all right,
Aaron Rodgers is no longer in his prime and In fact,
it sounds as though Fellas he's closer to one foot
out of or already out of the game, and the

(16:30):
other foot is not, you know, too far from following.
Here's what Aaron Rodgers had to say earlier in the
week on the Pat McAfee show.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it.

Speaker 9 (16:41):
You know, that's why we just did a one year deal.
You know, this was really about finishing with a lot
of love and fun and peace for.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
The career that I've had.

Speaker 9 (16:50):
I've played twenty freaking years. Yeah, Like, it's been a long,
long run and I've enjoyed it. And what better place
to finish than in one of the cornerstonesranchises of the
NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership
and great guys in the city that you know expects
expects you to win.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
That was Aaron Rodgers talking to Pat McAfee. I said
this earlier in the week, Fellas, I just that's not
what I want to hear. If that's my teammate and
he's coming in. Maybe I'm maybe I'm more of a skeptic.
Maybe I'm one that like kind of errs on the
side of being more pessimistic. I like to prepare for

(17:34):
or you know, hope for the best, but prepare for
the worst. Type of guy. Uh, if it goes wrong.
In my mind, it's like, you know what, I was
prepared for it to go wrong.

Speaker 6 (17:43):
Let's adapt.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Let's just let's do what we need to do to
get the results we want versus any other way. I
don't I don't think good first and then bad later.
I just always take it into consideration. How do you
guys are how does the conversation move you? Knowing that
at prime to say you would take Aaron Rodgers over

(18:05):
Patrick Mahomes, that would be wild. That's a wild one.
And then on top of that, hearing what Aaron Rodgers
has to say how he's viewing heading into this year,
sounding as though it's his final seasons as a pro ballplayer.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
You know, this is a good amount to unpack when
we're go ahead and so and.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
So, uh big being saying that I'm not mad at
him for saying that I'm not, but but.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I'm taking my homes every time.

Speaker 6 (18:34):
But what we know now every time.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
And it's like Aaron Rodgers to me is who all
these younger quarterbacks their game? They mimicked their game after
his Everybody is throwing a ball, how Aaron Rodgers throws
the ball. So he was a trailblazer in that sense.
These young players they want to do everything that he's

(18:59):
done and he's doing and when it comes to throwing
the ball, let me just say that. So he is
someone that they've obviously looked up to him, tried to
pattern a game after.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
But but but man, Mahomes is a winner, bro Like,
not only does he have great talent, he's winning and
he's winning championships.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
And so after we've seen Aaron Rodgers at the end
of his career, Mahomes is still in his prime. But
you're still in your prime and you're a multiple times
Super Bowl champion and MVP. I just don't know how
somebody can say that when, yeah, you watched Aaron Rodgers play,
but you're watching Mahomes in. Mahomes for the most part,

(19:46):
always makes the play when his team needs it. So
for you to say I'll take Aaron Rodgers over Patrick
Mahomes is crazy to me because not only does he
have more championships, he's just his talented it is he
a better throw out the football than Aaron Rodgers. No,
but he's more mobile. His instincts and his ability to

(20:08):
extend plays, the stuff you can't teach. It's better than
what Aaron Rodgers can do. And so I'll take that
over Aaron Rodgers for that part. Aaron Rodgers saying, you know,
I'm pretty sure this is it. If he has a
great year, he's not going to retire. There's just no way.
The only reason he's playing is because he don't like

(20:30):
the way the last two years when in New York.
And I really when he went to New York, I
was like, oh my god, the Jet's gonna be really,
really good. Tearis's Achilles comes back. I'm like, okay, let's
see he got it going towards the end of last season.
But and this is a big butt outside of the coaching,
but what's the difference between the Jets and the Steelers.

(20:53):
Defenses are both really good.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
This is really personnel on offensive side of the ball
is most likely better in New York than it is
in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 6 (21:02):
I would say.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
That, yes, now, will the play calling, will the coaching
be better in Pittsburgh? AB subsolutely that that's where Mike
Tomlin and the students have the edge over the Jets,
but you sign a few days before mini camp, you're
not doing OTAs if things start bad. And if you
look at their schedule early in the season, I mean

(21:25):
they have a chance to start four and one.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
They really do have a chance.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Like easy schedule early on, tough down to stretch and so.
But if he does have a good season, I believe
he will be back. But you in a division that's
gonna be I believe the Ravens are gonna win it.
The Bengals should and they better be better. And it's
a lot of dogs in the AFC. It's not gonna
end well for Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
I believe.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
You know, everybody's entitled to the opinion. I believe if
you if it would have been vice versa what Ben
has said, it will still be you know, controversy of
you know, his opinion and what he thinks. The one
reason I think well been you know said that you
know he would take Aaron Rodgers over Patrick Mahomes and
this problem because Aaron Rodgers played during our era. He

(22:09):
is somebody that that we got to you know, see
and play against. And you know, you know, he wired
everybody with his arm talent, full time MVP, super Bowl champion,
and you could you can honestly say that, you know
it was the league was more difficult to play in
in our era than it is today. So I think

(22:30):
there's a lot of contributing factors that go into that.
But when I just sit back and look at the
pure quarterback play of these two quarterbacks, you know when
you when you're looking at Patrick Mahomes man, and what
he's been able to accomplish over the first eight years
has been nothing less than remarkable. What we say, Aaron

(22:52):
Rodgers has won MVP in twenty seasons. So Patrick mahomes
has played one hundred and thirty seven fewer games at
this point in his eight year career than Aaron Rodgers.
And we're already talking about three super Bowls in his

(23:12):
first eight season.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
We already talking about greatest of all time.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Right, We're already talking about three super Bowls in eight years.
And Aaron Rodgers was able to put together four MVP
seasons over a twenty year span and one championship, and
we're talking about prime. We're just starting to see Patrick
mahlks get into his prime. I believe he's gonna win

(23:38):
more and we're talking about just the quarterback versus another.
I don't really think that you can say from a
skilled standpoint of throwing the football forget game winning drives
and coming through when your team need him. I don't
believe that you can say one is better than the other.
From a pure quarterbacking talent standpoint, you would take both

(24:01):
of them in your prime. But when you put the
statistics side by side, it would show you and tell
you that in his prime or not. And I believe
that Patrick Mahomes is going to continue to get better.
Now he gets receivet Right's back. He's healthy. Now you
get now you get a Hollywood Brown back. He's healthy,

(24:22):
Now you get a Travis Kelsey that it seems like
he is refocusing on football and coming into camp in
shape and ready to play football because now these guys are.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Determined to win another one.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
So he has all the tools to keep being getting
better as a quarterback. But if I'm just looking at
the stats and what this young man has been able
to put forth before all of us watching him play,
I would say, when it's all said and done, he
is going to surpass Aaron Rodgers and basically every category
and he's going to be the greatest football quarterback to

(24:57):
play in this league.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Hey, why would big man say that? Because he's a quarterback?
What would make him say something like that?

Speaker 2 (25:03):
He was asked a question. I don't know. Yeah, like
think about that though, like we all watching the.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Game, I don't even feel like that's close.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
I don't even feel like that's a proper conversation at
this point.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
It's close, but like it is, like one at the end,
one is still.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
Patrick Holmes has done is win. That's all he's done.
Like he has done. He has literally done nothing else.
But when since he's been in the league.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
I don't I don't think the conversation is close with anyone,
to be honest, Like where where Patrick? Where Patrick Mahomes
is right now? And what if his level of trajectory
of what he's been accomplishing since he's been starting. Name
a quarterback that compares, Name one that compares to where
he's at right now, Name one that compares.

Speaker 6 (25:51):
Tom Brady is not in.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
The first eight years?

Speaker 6 (25:56):
Like tripping that all?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Do you think you think he getting seven?

Speaker 6 (26:01):
It's possible, It's possible.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
It's man, forget that, look this man, this man continues
to go.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
You already won the lottery. I've seen your family and
I know.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
I know, right life.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
Look bro, look look well that's not that's not cap either.
You know, you know you're doing well. Uh.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
But Patrick Mahomes is literally in the super Bowl like
every year. He's like he's there, every year, he's in
the he has been in the championship game like literally
every single year.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
I just don't see the everything that you can compare
that to.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Regardless who you who, you have put on this man's team.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Offensively, he managed to win the AFC West title eight
years in a row.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
All right, let's do this because y'all mentioned something that
was interesting. You said that, But Aaron Rodgers isn't in
his prime anymore. Thus that was the reason for the
second SoundBite of Aaron Rodgers on the Pat McAfee show.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
Is this a good decision? What's this a good move?

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Like?

Speaker 6 (27:10):
To me, I feel like.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
By the day it becomes a worst move by this
Pittsburgh Steelers team. Like if a dude is saying, I
just want to, you know, have good times and go
into my retirement with peace and a peace and this
that and the other and da da dad, Hey man,
I'm not trying to go.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
To battle with a warrior that's already.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
Looking at where they're going to be after the war
is over.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
I'm not.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
I just that's not I would not be comfortable going
into battle with that guy.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
Now some will you don't compare battles.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Okay, tell me like, because that's just how I interpreted it.
I feel as though he has nothing to lose. If
he goes into Pittsburgh and doesn't play well, that doesn't
bode well for the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting all of their
eggs in one basket, which is Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
I still believe, I know for a fact that when
Anon Roddy steps on the football field, he's going to
give you his best effort regardless. I don't think I
think you know misunderstanding of what he's saying is that
you know he's going to play hard. Obviously, he's going
to go out and give this team everything that he
has to help them try to win the division and
to get to a playoff and maybe win a Super Bowl.

(28:24):
Who knows, but I think he's still going to be
the same competitor under center when he gets on the
football field. I don't think that he's saying that, you
know what, I'm just going to go out there and
play and you know, lag along and not give effort
and not play my best.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
That's not how I interpreted it. That's that's not what
I was thinking. I was not thinking He's going to
go out there and half asset. All I'm saying is
is the and the value of what we do and
a production business is knowing that if we don't produce,
it's a rap.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
It's a rap.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
You're going to play last year. We all know that
that And.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
That's to me, he doesn't have the type of pressure
on him that other guys in the league are that
he's going to be playing against have on them.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
That's not an advantage, not to me. That is not his.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
Aaron Rodgers, he's the quarterback of the Pittsburgh steel There's
always going to be pressure on anybody that position in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 6 (29:20):
To go out and play well, whether he has a
good year or not. He's Aaron Rodgers, period. What does
that mean, He's he's first back, What does that mean?

Speaker 5 (29:28):
I don't Niversity Dallas Hall of Famer and he's one
of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the game.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
That's what it So if he goes out and plays bad,
if he doesn't, it doesn't matter like oh he was
in his twentieth season anyway. Yes, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
That's exactly what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
And what what what is Pittsburgh done? Like what makes
If Pittsburgh is successful, it will be because of Aaron Rodgers.
It won't be because of It's Pittsburgh because they haven't.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Of course they have. They haven't been able to win exactly.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
So if they play bad then and if the team
is bad, how can you blame Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 2 (30:03):
If you're not going you have.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
To blame Mike Tomlin and the.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Team. You can't blame Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
To blame Mike Tomlin or GM because they messed up
with the quarterback.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
Situation last season.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Question what other situation they had?

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Russell Wilson and Justin Fields were brought in both let
me and both of them are gone after one year?

Speaker 2 (30:27):
The Master your question, laval TJ.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Do you think that the Pittsburgh Stills were bad football
team before Aaron Rodgers joined them?

Speaker 2 (30:34):
No, they weren't bad. No, so.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Give them a better chance to win than Russell Wilson
and Justin Fields and Mason Rudolph.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
I believe so I.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
Think I believe if you're talking about in a win
now scenario, Aaron Rodgers, it makes sense in a win
now desperation. But see, to me, I don't feel like
you should be in a win after what happened with
Russell Wilson and Justin Fields last season. It makes you wonder,

(31:08):
is is you're gonna question the decision making ability of
those who are bringing in personnel at the biggest position
in all of the games.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Y'all act like.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
There are just elite quarterbacks walking around the supermarket of
sitting on a couch that you can sign to help
the leads.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Your franchise was on football games.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
I mean, we.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Just already agreed that Aaron Rodgers give the Pittsburgh Stills
a better chance to win than Mason Rudolph, Justin Fields,
and Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
We can agree to that.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
If you want to win football games right now, if
you're Mike Tomlin and the Rooney family, you sign Ann
Rodgers because we all agree that right now is versus
winning football games. He gives you the best chance to win.
Will deal with twenty twenty six when it gets here.

Speaker 5 (31:59):
I think the best approach would have been to keep
justin fields and see if the kid that they just
drafted out of Ohio State can actually develop into a
quarterback that they could put in there.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
That's to me, that's what I believe.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Will say that we don't that we don't know.

Speaker 6 (32:17):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
We haven't seen.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
And if they win and they pull it off, they
look like they know what they're doing.

Speaker 6 (32:22):
But if they don't, it's gonna be some time for change.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
It's going to be it's probably going to be the
conversation that comes up time for change anyway, speaking of change,
and we're going to change topics.

Speaker 6 (32:33):
But before we do that, let's.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Get the Isaac Lohan kron for trending what we got
going on in sports, My guy LaVar.

Speaker 10 (32:39):
We got some change in the NBA. On this Saturday,
multiple outlets reporting the Chicago Bulls trading Lonzo Ball to
the Cleveland Cavaliers that exchange for Isaac o'corol. Meanwhile, last night,
multiple outlets reported in Minnesota Center nas Reads agreed to
a new five year, one hundred and twenty five million
dollar contract to stay with the Timberwolves, with the number
one overall taking the NHL Draft. On Friday night, the

(33:02):
New York Islanders selected seventeen year old defenseman Matthew Schafer
out of the Ontario Hockey League, while Stanley Cup champion
Florida Panthers forward and Con Smyth Trophy winner Sam Bennetts
agreed to an eight year, sixty four million dollar extension. Finally,
guys in track and field news, American sprinter Chris Robinson
was able to win the four hundred meter hurdles at

(33:23):
the Ostrava Golden Spike Track and Field meet in the
Czech Republic, despite experiencing a wardrobe malfunction of his shorts
that caused his well that caused his genitals to be
exposed for all to see during the last half of
the race. And we've got the audio of it, thankfully

(33:45):
this is radio.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
And not TV.

Speaker 10 (33:47):
Here's the call from commentators Hannah England and Tim Hutchings.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
Listen, Chris Robinson absolutely flying down the backstraight. Just something
to adjustice shortz and that Chris Robinson strides into that
head and what concentration to keep himself going here Chris
Robinson stumbles there on the penultimate hurdle. He's got one
more to go. But he's going to be a win
for Chris Robinson at the United States forty eight.

Speaker 6 (34:10):
One just gets the win. Boy, he just said in front,
dipping at the line and getting home in the league.

Speaker 7 (34:19):
Do apologize for images here. I don't think replays are
being censored anywhere.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Well, there certainly has been time to send them.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
They say, one by head, Allo.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
One by head the flapper.

Speaker 10 (34:34):
There's any event you don't want something like that to
happen in it's the hurdles.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
So here's the mister Robinson back to you guys.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
Oh man, all right, okay, well there you go. Uh yeah,
good luck. Congrat's to help on that big win.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
We're going to take a quick break.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
On the other side of the break, we're going to
continue the conversations around you know football.

Speaker 6 (35:05):
Uh, Todd Bowles, you know, you know Todd? Uh what
Jason like?

Speaker 5 (35:11):
Yeah, Uh, the Buccaneers. We're gonna talk about them on
the other side of break. This is up on Game
and this.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
Is Fox Sports Radio. We'll be right back. All right,
welcome back into the show. It's up on Game. Make
sure you stay locked in.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
We got hour two coming up in a matter of
moments and we will have cuffs the legend joining us
to talk you know, well his talk. Uh, So stay
stay down in tuned in for that, fellas. Before we
get to the end of this uh this hour, UH,
let's talk about what took place in Tampa Bay.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Obviously, the Buccaneers have extended uh the contracts of GM,
Jason liked and and Todd Bowles.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
Do you guys like the do you not like the move?

Speaker 5 (36:01):
I feel like they've gotten a lot out of of
uh Mayfield, that Baker Mayfield. They've they've gotten a lot
out of this team. They've they've done to me quite
well post Tom Brady era and Bruce Arians era. How
do you feel about this move? Do you see them

(36:24):
being in contention? You know, this Tampa Bay Bucks team.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
It's well deserved.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
It's well deserved because when Bruce arians retired Tom Brady retired,
many and damn near everybody thought, oh ten day Bucks
are done. There is gonna be a long rebuild. They
signed Baker Mayfield, resurrected y and they've been winning. They've
been going to the playoffs, winning playoff games. Not consistent

(36:51):
super Bowl contenders or not super Bowl contenders at all,
but they're better than what anybody thought they would be
after Brady he left.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
And that's a fact.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Sean baker Man is like, oh my god, the Bucks,
what are they doing signing him? And they've been a
good team to the top team, no, but a very
good team. And in that division, that division, I mean,
they always gonna have a chance. Unless Bryce Young and
the Panthers get better, he continues to develop, they always

(37:22):
will have a chance because Baker Mayfield is playing much
better Mike, they receiving corps is it's kind of crazy
with Mike Evans, Christ Chris got On coming off injury,
and you have a Mecca Buka who they drafted. You
have Jayleen McMillan, they have Tad Johnson. They got some

(37:44):
guys that can really play at the wide receiver position.
Losing our offensive coordinator Liam Kalm is gonna be interesting
to see how they look offensively. That that will be
a question mark for me because it's just the unknown.
But well deserved by those guys. Well deserved. Yeah, I
agree with TJ.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Men. I think you know, keeping uh uh lickt and
uh and Todd Bowles with.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
The Buccaneers is the best move, right now for them
moving forward, they've been kind of you know, they've been
a little unstable over the last few years, especially after
Tom Brady left and Bruce arians was like TJ said,
but you know, through it all, they were able to
put full rookie you know, starters on this football team
through the draft with you know uh what Bucky Irvin Graham, Barton,

(38:30):
tyr Ree Smith and Jayalen McMillan. So, I mean they
have some pieces their young football team. We can all
agree that the NFC South is not necessarily the most competitive,
uh you know division all the football. It's up for
grabs every year. It seems it seems like the New
Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are really the
only two teams in that the division that can compete

(38:50):
to win it. So we'll see what happens. But you know,
Todd Bowles is a great, uh defensive minded coach. They
just have to find a way to hope, try to
get Baker Mayfield to the next level if there is
a next level for him to compete on that elite
level to you know, to get this offense you know going.

(39:10):
I think they played really well last last year. Mike
Everson's getting older, the first Battle of Hall of Famer,
He's getting Chris watten My back off of back off
of injury, Bucky Irvin going into a second year. So
they do have a nice nucleus of young talent that
can help them win football games going fold.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
But for Todd Bowles, uh, he just has to win.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
You know, obviously he was here with the Jets that
didn't fare very well. But far as from a defensive standpoint, man,
he's very intelligent, pressure style defense. Now, they just got
to find a way to win some football.

Speaker 5 (39:40):
Games, didn't They almost beat Washington in the in the
playoffs last year, did not?

Speaker 6 (39:48):
Didn't not almost happen like I think they had.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
I think they had Washington beat in the game and
something something happened.

Speaker 6 (39:56):
I don't I don't recall it.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Washington. Washington went on the road and beat them in Tampa.

Speaker 6 (40:01):
They beat them.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
They did beat them in Tampa, and I believe the
score was twenty to twenty three. But it felt as
though maybe they had them wanting to had their number
that day. I don't know, but they seem to be
going in the right direction, and it seems as though
there's some continuity and it seems to make sense to
keep liked and bowls together, so congratulations to both of them.

(40:26):
This is hour one of Up on Game. Make sure
you stay locked in and dialed in. We got cuffs
the Legend coming up at the top of the hour.
