Speaker 3 (00:32):
Ah. Yes, a perfect record, actually perfect records plural. We'll
get to that momentarily.

Speaker 4 (00:39):

should be Eddie, I would argue, this is the most
impressive record here. How about our guy Poppy in San

(01:02):
Diego going to and oh.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Wow, he called it on last night's show.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
He said, give me Boston minus five and a half
in the first half, give me Boston minus eleven and
a half in the game. Win, win for Poppy in
San Diego.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Yeah, what do they say about a clock A broken
clock being right twice a day.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
That's right, Yeah, maybe that's uh, those were the two
times for Poppy yesterday.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
He was bound to hit at some point.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
He knocked it out of the park.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
No, don't encourage him, Brian. Normally he's not good at all, terrible.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Yeah, I'm curious if he's going to run it back
in grand fashion as the night.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Oh yeah, he co come back with full confidence that
whatever nonsense he picks will be will be a winner.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
But he might hit us with, you know, like a
seventeen leg parla.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
I don't know. I don't think he'll do that. He'll
just pick whoever the favorite is and you know, do that.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yeah, you know. It was boat Race City in the
NBA Eddie. The two games were not close, not high
on drama. But if you're looking for drama, man, you
gotta look at puck. Your puck action delivered, got a
couple of overtime barn burners. Rangers won and double overtime.

(02:14):
Avs came back from a three goal deficit to win
in overtime. That's where the drama was. The Celtics and
the thunder rolled Calves and MAVs not too good in
their game ones, but the dramas in the NHL. Man
got to give credit where credit's due.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Well, it's not a surprise, I mean, honestly, I'm really
I mean, I know I'm the hockey honk and I
don't shy away from that. But Charles Barkley himself has
said many times that the NHL playoffs are better than
the NBA playffs. He's not wrong.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
So it's like the it's the nature of the sports.
I think a lot of it is. Is that to
you tell me, as the hockey guy, is that too
much of like a non hockey cut or do you
think that the style of the sport lends itself more
times than not when we're talking about the best that

(03:08):
the NHL has to offer at this stage, you're more
likely to get closer games, at least a higher number
of closer games than you are in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Would you agree with that? Is that fair to say?
I think it is. I don't know if you think
it is.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
No, I think it's fair to say. But I also
think it's fair to say that there's more parody in
the NHL than the NBA, that you're going to get
more upsets. It's not as surprising to see, you know,
a lower seed team or I always get that confused
by the way lower higher seeded team, A higher seed team,
I guess right, or no higher seed.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
A lower lower seeded.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
I always want to think a lower means worse, right,
But it doesn't. Lower means you're better. Actually, it's it's
just in my head. It's always yeah, it's both. It's
always reversed for me, so I have to really think
about that when I say it. But anyway, more upset.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
You have the lesser record, you have the lower se right,
right right, the same thing.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah, okay, well yeah, yeah, whatever it happens.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
But uh yeah, you know, listen, I think you can
love both, but I don't know. It's kind of like
an MMA versus boxing thing. I never understood that you
can love both. I think it's the same thing with
the NBA and the NHL. You don't have to choose.
It's like, just enjoy both. You know. The NBA stuff ended.
I watched that and I watched some puck. It was good,

(04:27):
you know, a little two for one combo bladder right there.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
You know, yeah you can, but I just think if
you're going to devote your time, right, you need to
kind of pick one. You can dabble a little bit
in one or the other. But a long time ago
I made a choice. And when I was growing up,
I was a big Lakers fan. Loved Magic Johnson, showtime Lakers.
I was all over that. And then, uh what, I

(04:52):
wasn't really exposed to hockey that much with one team
in California and blah blah blah. So then once I
kind of opened my mind a little bit and and
watched the other one, I was like, you know what,
this is way better than that, and plus it would
let to be fair. You know, I was raised on
Celtics Lakers. You know, those were two great teams going
at it. And then kind of when the transition came,

(05:14):
it was all about, you know, Michael Jordan, the NBA
was showcasing individuals. The ain't really marketing teams quite so
much anymore. And I've always been you know football, you know,
I think hockey too. There are more team sports now
than the NBA. I've always said, is it's more of
an Maybe this is changing a little bit, but it's
more of an individual sport in a team sport. Rapper,

(05:35):
but it's more about you know, one or two guys
than it is the teams most most of the times,
something's changed a little bit. Like Minnesota, they're a nice team,
you know, they do some things as far as a group,
and ya, Oklahoma City's kind of like that too, So
maybe it's maybe there's a little bit of an EBB
and flow to it.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
No, I hear you, Hey, listen, man, I can't argue
with that. If you're more into the team aspect, that
that's absolutely more NHL. It's not to say there aren't,
you know, teams. I think Denver has been a very
good team. It's not like Yokich, who's probably gonna be
named MVP on Wednesday, Eddie, I'm hoping, so I bet
on that. So we need that to be the case, right,

(06:13):
But it's not like Jokich is self absorbed and is
a me me me guy and is hogging the spotlight
or right like. So you do get some of the
team aspect, but it's absolutely way more in the NHL.
There's no doubt, especially for Man. For decades, the NBA
marketed it stars like that's what it hung its hat on, right,

(06:36):
So if that's not your cup of tea, I could
see how you would, you know, stray stray away? He
come back every now and then, right, but you stray away.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I get that.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
We were talking about perfect records. It's not just Poppy
in San Diego. It's our guy, Mark Dagnall in Okayse.
This is interesting, Eddie, because he talked about being a
Lakers fan from back in the day. So Mark Dagnall,
he is the coach of the year over there in Oksee.
He's won his first five career playoff games. The Oklahoma

(07:08):
City Thunder. They're perfect so far. They swept the Pelicans
and now they beat the MAVs on Tuesday night. They're
up won nothing in their series. He's won his first
five career playoff games, so he joins an esteemed list
over here. He's the seventh head coach to do that.
And a couple of names on this list are kind

(07:28):
of interesting. Pat Riley is one of the names. In
nineteen eighty one eighty two, he started off his playoff
career five and zero. Right, he's on the list. Mike
dan Tony with the Suns on the list, as is
Steve Kerr with the Warriors, to Ron lou with the Calves.
A couple of names on this list. So I found

(07:49):
that to be pretty interesting. But it ties back to
your you know, Showtime Lakers fandom right there in the
early eighties, Eddie. So that's the company that our guy,
Mark Dagnault is in right now.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Never heard of him, I know, household name as you
could have given me a thousand guesses who who that was,
and I would not have He could walk in here
with a shirt that said, Hi, I'm what's.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
His name again, Mark Dagnall, Mark.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
Dagnall, and I would have been like, oh, Hi, how
nice to meet you, Mark. I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Who are you an insurance Mark?

Speaker 5 (08:23):
What is?

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Are you a manager somewhere? I'm the head coach of
the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Actually, Eddie is what he was good for? You say?

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Wow, okay, where'd you come from?

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Right, you know what I mean exactly like I know
where bj Bigger Staff came from. He came from his dad.
Where who was an NBA coach? Or you know what
I mean? Or if you're a former player, Jason Kidd,
I know who you are, but where did you come from?

Speaker 6 (08:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Hey, uh yeah, I will need to I need to
learn more about this gentleman.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah, he's done a good job.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Man.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Okay, See, they've come a long way. They were the
laughing stock of the NBA not that long ago. Remember Eddie,
I know you do where? Yeah, Kevin Durant said, you
know what, I'm gonna leave here. I'm gonna go to
Golden State and there.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Was Oh he wasn't the only one. So people might
remember that James Harden played there at one time. What right, Yeah,
because he's been in a few different places.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
But yeah, they got rid of James. They committed to
serge A Baka, remember that instead of James Harden. And
then shortly after that KD left as a free agent,
and then that began the end of that era of
OKC basketball. And they slowly slowly built that thing up.

(09:35):
And they're the number one seed in the West. They
haven't lost a game yet in the playoffs. Shake Gilgess,
Alexander is a fantastic scorer. And here they are, man
no blemish on their postseason resume. So far are They're
a fun team to watch, man. They get after it.
They're a little bit like Minnesota. They defend really really well,

(09:56):
and they've got enough scoring. Sga does his thing, so
they're perfect thus far. I don't know is that good
or bad for the NBA? Eddie Where you get teams
like the Minnesota Timberwolves undefeated so far, the Oklahoma City
Thunder undefeated so far. Like you were just saying, the
NBA promotes its stars, it's big name teams. Those are

(10:18):
not big name teams, big name cities. That good or
bad for the NBA in your estimation.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Well, in my estimation, I think it's good. You do,
I do, but I'm sure you know, like if Ben
was here, he would you scoff at that. It's about
to you know, big markets and people. That's what people
want to see. I don't know. I want to see greatness.
I don't care where it comes from personally, but.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
It's fun to see some new blood in there, you know.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Yeah, yeah right, but people I know, like you know,
if you look at the NCAA Basketball Tournament, people will
scoff at that all the time. We gotta have Kentucky
in there. We gotta have whatever, Billanova, Yeah, you gotta
have Kansas. I'm like, I've seen that. I know.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
I'm surprised the ratings drop off as much as they do.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I get it. Why the ratings.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
I understand why the ratings are strong with the big
name teams. And look, if the Dallas Cowboys go deep
into the playoffs, I understand why the ratings follow. But
if it's a new team like the Detroit Lions, you know.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
I love that, love that story, yeah, or you.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Know, like the Oklahoma City Thunder Minnesota Timberwolves. It's just
strange to me where I'm curious where the ratings are
gonna go. Anthony Edwards is an electrifying player, and they
play a fun style of basketball. They guard you like crazy,
and it's not the same as this big name, big
market team, but it is an exciting, I don't know,

(11:43):
new type of team.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
And I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
If you're a basketball fan, I don't know why you
would just roll your eyes and say, eh, nah, no thanks.
It's like, are you used to eating the same meal
every night? Don't you want a little variety?

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Well, according to Coop, you are. Well I's a bad
example for me.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah that's true, But when it comes to sports, I
like a little variety, Eddie. But yeah, I could eat goodness,
I could probably eat what would be your meal of
choice if you had to run it back, like five
out of seven days a week, Eddie, is there anything
that would be a go to for you?

Speaker 5 (12:16):
I mean probably pizzas.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
You know, pizza a staple.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
It's hard to go wrong with pizza.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
I go something like, I couldn't you can't go wrong
with steak, you know, or chicken breasts. Give me some
form of chicken five out of seven nights, I'd be
a happy man.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
I don't need Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 7 (12:37):
I could do Taco Bell five out of seven nights.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
Did your stomach candle? Probably?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
What's a normal order for you at Taco Bell Coop?

Speaker 7 (12:48):
See, it's not that crazy. I get a cheesy gordita crunch, okay,
and then usually I'll like my second item. I'll either
go the spicy potato soft taco or something that they're
you know, one of the limited time, Like right now,
I'm doing the Cantina chicken taco. He's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
What about the drink? What's the beverage of choice?

Speaker 7 (13:11):
I don't usually get a drink, you don't know? I
mean I like Baja Blast, but no, I usually I'm
usually taking it to go and I go home and
I have you know, drinks at home.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Okay, you just throw together some alcohol or you go water?
What do you go with?

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Nah?

Speaker 7 (13:26):
I mean it's it's either water or diet doctor Pepper.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Okay, I'm just curious, curious what the playbook was over there. Yeah, Eddie,
you've shunned the fast food restaurants, have you not?

Speaker 3 (13:37):
You've given the to that, you.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
Know, get married and start eating at home and you
have somebody that can actually cook for you. It's nice. Yeah. Plus,
i'd rather you know, not weigh five three hundred pounds
have missed. I can avoid it.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I mean, hey, man, I hear you. I absolutely hear you.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
And that be sure to catch live editions of The
Ben Maller Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm

Speaker 8 (14:07):
It's me three time pro bowler LeVar Arrington, and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up

Speaker 3 (14:14):
What is up on Game? You ask?

Speaker 8 (14:15):

Super Bowl champion Yup. That's right, Plexico Burus. You can
only name a show with that type of talent on it.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Up on Game.

We're going to be sharing our real life experiences loaded.

Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast from.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
This league is just getting in its own way details
on that right around the corner. We are broadcasting live
from the tirack dot com studios. Tirack dot com will
help get you there, an unmatched selection, fast free show
being free, road hazard protection and over ten thousand recommended
installers tire rack dot com The way tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Eddie.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
The NBA they have this last two minute report.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
And it's just so dumb it does no good.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
So there was some controversy in game one of the
Pacers Next series where Miles Turner he set a screen
with about twelve seconds to go. Devincenzo sold it. The
officials called an illegal screen turnover knicks ball. It's a

(15:38):
big point in the game, only twelve seconds to go.
Pacers were down by one. So Miles Turner said, in
my experience in this league, I think it's best when
the players decide the outcome of the game, and he
was saying I'm looking forward to seeing the release of.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
The last two minute report.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Well, the last two minute report comes out and they said,
actually that was the right call.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
It was an illegal screen. Oh but there were four
missed calls aside from that whole illegal screen thing, and
they it just detailed all this stuff where.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
It's like, well, there was a kicked ball called on
aaron Ne Smith that was the wrong call, and well
they missed a defensive three seconds violation that should have
been called. And there was a backcourt you know, violation
here and this was messed up and it's like, cool,
So what can be done about that?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Nothing, absolutely nothing can be done about it.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
So it's just an.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Oh, by the way, you kind of got screwed on
that call, but we can't do anything about it. What
good does that do, Eddie? All it does is make
people mad. How is that good for the NBA.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
I guess their argument would be that there there's transparency.
Right as far as them admitting, you know, the mistakes
were made. I don't know. I more I agree with you.
I don't know what purpose this serves other than to
say our officials aren't very good when it matters most,
and now you can be pissed off. I guess, you know,

(17:13):
like Ben would talk about how this is good content
for us, we're talking about it. I'm not one of
those people that believes that, you know, any publicity is
good publicity. I don't believe that. I think bad publicity
is bad. So I'm with you. I don't know. I
don't understand why they want to do this.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
It's weird, and you're right, it is a transparency thing.
It's totally about gambling. It absolutely is.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
It's the Tim Donaghy scandal when the corrupt official he
was affecting games because he was betting the over or
whatever he had going on.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
He's like, foh, you know, we need to.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Get to at least two hundred and three points for
the total to hit, for the over to hit. And
so the NBA appsoluetely is doing it partially because of
that and also because of just gambling in general. They
want to show you that things are on the up
and up. But it's like it doesn't really accomplish that.

(18:13):
It just shows that calls were missed and the outcome.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Is jacked up.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
It doesn't show that you're like dotting your eyes, crossing
your t's and everything's okay. This last two minute report
came out, shouldn't been a kicked ball. So our takeaway is, oh, well,
the NBA is not corrupt whatsoever?

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Right does anybody think that? Or are they like me?

Speaker 4 (18:37):
And they're like, okay, so stuff was missed and the
outcome was screwed up, and now we're just ticked off
because nothing can be done about it. Even you go
back to the previous series when the seventy six ers
they had that epic comeback against the Knicks. Tyrese Maxi
had seven points in like the last you know, twenty

(18:58):
eight seconds or whatever it was, and the NBA came
out at the last two minute report they said, oh
that four point play. Tyrese Maxi hit a three and
got fouled, hit the free throws a four point play
cut the deficit to two points. It was huge in
that comeback. They were like, yeah, that it shouldn't have counted.

(19:21):
They're like, wait, what I think they said it should
have been traveling. I don't know what they said why
it shouldn't have counted.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
They did traveling. They said it was traveling, which is
hilarious because when's the last time you saw a travel
called in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
No, but it's like nothing could be done about it,
and all they did was cause us to look at
an epic moment differently, How is it good for the
NBA to say, hey, like the modern version of Reggie
Miller scoring all those points in the garden in the

(19:53):
final ten seconds against the Knicks, the modern version with
Tyrese Maxey doing what he did, They're like it, it
never should have happened. It should have been traveling. So
why would you do that?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Why would you say that, You're just negotiating against yourself.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
I don't think it makes any sense at all. None,
And yeah, I agree with you. Yeah, they keep doing it. Man.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
You have players that are like, I'm interested to see
what the last two minute report says, and it's like,
I guess, but nothing can be done about it anyway,
So what good is it?

Speaker 3 (20:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
I just think it's a wasted time. It's I don't
know why it would be comforting to any fan or
good for the NBA to be like, oh, yeah, when
it was a tie game and we said it was
a kicked ball on the Pacers, it actually wasn't a
kicked ball. It hit the guy's hand. It should have
been the Pacers ball. But we couldn't do anything about that.

(20:54):
Just so you know you officially got screwed. It's like, okay, cool,
well good, it feels so much better now. I just
don't think it's good for the league. Can you imagine
if we had that in the NFL, Eddie? Think about that?
What if the NFL was kicking this around and they're like, hey,
we've got the you know, Caesar's super Dome, We're in

(21:15):
bed with some of these sports books.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
We got to make sure everything's on the up and up.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
We got to have an NBA version of our last
two minute report, so we could just tell you if
a team gets screwed and we couldn't do anything about it,
but at least you know that's like.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Why, what good is that? I think that happened against
your Steelers in a playoff game, Eddie.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
You might remember this. I remember they're playing Jacksonville. Is
when David Garrard was the quarterback of the Jags. Remember that,
and there I remember him quarterback. Yeah, there was a
hole the way, that's right. Nice, look at you. You're
ready for this showdown. That was great, but there was

(21:57):
a holding call. I think they missed it. It was
Jags and Steelers, and they came out and they said
either the wrong call was made or a call should
have been made and it was missed. I can't remember
the exact detail, but they're like, yeah, just so you know,

(22:17):
we kind of screwed it up. It's like, okay, why
would you tell us that you can't do anything about it?
I just I don't think it makes any sense, no
sense at all.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
It does give us something to talk about, though.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
It does.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
I guess we just have to vent a little bit,
and you know, we have a conversation about it. But
I don't think it's good for the NBA. But it
this way. If there was a board meeting and Adam
Silver said, hey, open for suggestions, what do you think
would make the league better, I'd say kill the last
two minute report immediately. It does you, guys, no good
at all, none, And yet you keep it around like

(22:54):
it's good for you.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
It's not gets in your way.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
All right, let's get out to the militia here eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox is your number? Rich
is over there in Connecticut, curious what he has to
say here, Rich, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (23:07):
Man?

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Not too much?

Speaker 9 (23:09):
Hey, what's up Eddie? How you doing?

Speaker 10 (23:11):
Man?

Speaker 5 (23:11):
I'm good. How are you all right?

Speaker 6 (23:13):
Chilling?

Speaker 9 (23:13):
Bro up there in Connecticut? Hey, cheese steaks are beautiful
up here. I've been in California. You know, they might
have a few. But anyways, referees and umpires and everything,
and it stinks nowadays. It changes the whole aspect of sports.
It's like we can't trust no one anymore, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Well, I mean, look, it's I think it's so difficult
to officiate like these these athletes are so fast that
happens a fraction of a second.

Speaker 9 (23:44):
You can't stand. But back in the day, that was
the thing, you know what I mean, that was it,
you know, I mean safe or not safe, you know
what I mean. Right now, and all these referees and
umpires and whatnot, no matter what sport, they all rely
on the instant replay and everything, and they all take
things for granted, you know what I mean. And then
you're talking about gambling, so that's what it all comes out.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Well, replay is a huge part of it. I mean,
you know, the advances in technology all the camera angles
we have. I mean, these guys are more scrutinized than
ever before we see it. But you know, it's it's
the whole thing. You know, we've had replay because we
can't have a situation where we're sitting in our living
rooms and we all know what the call is and
they're getting it wrong, right, So they had to get

(24:27):
some help. And now the referees in their defense, I
guess they're relying on that. Now they're looking to they're
looking to you know, they're not going to call it
fumble because they know the replays got their back, right,
just an example.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying, you know what I mean,
it was scared, these these referees and umpires and everything.
They're scared nowadays because of you know, the gambling aspect
or you know, so many might time after it. You
know what I mean, that's such.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
I don't think that's that at all. I disagree with
both of you guys.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
It's just look, man, it's hard to officiate, that's the
bottom line. It's not that they're lazy, or they're worried,
or they're scared, or it's hard to get it right.
That's just that's the bottom line. It's hard to get
it right.

Speaker 9 (25:09):
But don't get into business. If you can't do the job.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
No one can do the job. That's the point.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
Nobody, nobody's gonna nobody's gonna appreciate me if I do
something wrong at the warehouse, right, well, replay, who's gonna
do replay? You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (25:27):
Not?

Speaker 5 (25:28):
I don't know. They've got cameras everywhere now these days.
Watch Outos's gonna call you into the office and we're
looking at the replay that shelf. True.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Hey, hey, go Eagles, go Celtics. You all take it easy,
all right.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
You too, rich appreciate its green teams. Yeah about the Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
Eagles and Celtics. I wonder if that's like a common combo, Eddy,
I don't call me you, I.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Guess Northeastern right area there.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Right, You know, I don't know if Patriot fans would
be down with that, you know, normally normally Pats and Celtics. Right,
I'm sure some uh, But Eddie, I think that sometimes
we go into movie trailer mode, you know, and we
come up with something that seems like, oh wow, It's

(26:19):
like the bottom line is just so simple. It's just
it's hard to officiate anything like NFL, NBA. Good luck,
these athletes are so fast. These plays happen so quickly.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
No, I get it. But you're you're wait a minute,
you said you were disagreeing with me. I mean you're
you're discounting instant replay and the technology that we have
nowadays that that's not a huge factor in antiquing these officials.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Oh no, it absolutely is, OK.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
But I'm just saying it's a lot easier to tell
what the right call is if you're watching it in
super slow motion from seven different angles, you know.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
And I have an issue with that too. I don't
know if we want to get deep into the replay pool,
but I know I've always said I don't mind them
using the super slow moo to figure out certain things.
But when when you're reviewing a call, I think they
should have to review it in real time because that's
the way the game is played. That's the way. It
doesn't make any sense, you know, because super slow mo

(27:17):
and zooming in on things can change what things actually
look like and what they are. I just I hate
when they, you know, you break it down so much
and you you you know, micro analyze it, it starts
to change actually what actually had happened. I mean, I
just think there's sometimes when if you want to get
a look to see if somebody touched the ball or

(27:38):
not begain you want to use super slowa. That's fine,
but then there's certain calls you want to get a
second look at it. Okay, but you have to watch
it in real time, not breaking it down, because that
changes what things look like. The game's not played in
slow motion.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
I'll meet you halfway where I don't need to watch
a good example, right basketball, Let's say I have the
ball and you're the one that's like knocking the ball
out of bounds, but it just in super slow motion,
it just grazes my right, you know, ring finger, and

(28:12):
I was technically the last one to touch the ball
like that is. So that's not in my mind what
replay should be for when you're breaking it down to
that level.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
I've always said replay should just be for blown, obvious,
blown calls when you're you know, making it so yeah,
like I said, just putting it under the microscope so much,
it's just ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
Right, Just fix the obvious stuff. That's that's what I
want to see happen. But I think for anyone who
makes it out to be that, oh, these officials just
just be better. It's like, bro, no one can officiate
like perfectly or even close to it with the speed
of these games.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
And you have one angle in real time time that's
so much different than seven angles in super slow motion.
Like it's not like they're lazy or they're just scared,
or loo's like, oh, let's just use replay.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
They're like, the hell with it, what do I care.
It's like they're trying their best to get this right.
It's just hard. It's incredibly hard to get it right.
It's not easy. It's not easy profession at all. It's
like they're the offensive linemen of the sports world. We
never give them credit when they get something incredibly difficult right.
It's just we crush them if they get it wrong.

(29:31):
That that's the life of an official. It's just like
an offensive lineman. We don't put them on a pedestal.
If they do their job, it's just like we crush
them if they allow a sack.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
That's how it is.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Let's get to this versus there we.

Speaker 5 (29:58):

Speaker 4 (30:01):
The game versus style. That's right, the first showdown here, Eddie,
between the two of us, this is uncharted territory. Very
much looking forward to this. Okay, So we just need
people come up with an NFL player, anyone you want,

Speaker 5 (30:53):
One that.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
Come on?

Speaker 5 (30:56):

out on Limbsay's the only guy from Yankton to make
the NFL. I'm pretty sure that. I bet. I bet
that college doesn't even exist anymore. It doesn't have a
football program.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Wow. What college did it turn into? Is what I
want to know?

Speaker 4 (31:13):
Yeah, blind Scott is with us, Blind Scott.

Speaker 3 (31:16):

Speaker 12 (31:40):

You know.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
That's a full ride as a long snapper. That seems
to be pretty good.

Speaker 12 (31:50):
His father with a long snapper as Darkness, you know,
and that that Merty school, you know. But hey, I
got this one. You guys won't get it out Victor, No.

Speaker 12 (32:29):

Speaker 11 (32:35):

Speaker 3 (32:49):

Speaker 7 (32:54):
I still have one to lead for Eddie. And just
before we get to the next player.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
Now, if I was Ben, I'd be like trying to
stall time.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
It's is run out of time and you take the
win before.

Speaker 7 (33:05):
We get to the next player. Fun fact, there are
four other Yankton NFL draft Okay, yeah, wow, yep, all
around this like lyle Azada was seventy one, then Mark
Herman a tight end seventy two, Less Goodman running back
in seventy two, and then Charles Smith running back and

(33:27):
Chip Salva Strini.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
Oh of course, soul chipper, you can forgive him.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
The early seventies they had a run. Yeah, the NFL players, Wow, okay,
but all right, we welcome hollering James back in with Eddie.
What's going on, James?

Speaker 12 (33:44):
I got one for you, okay, number one draft of

Speaker 13 (33:55):
Say the name James, yes, Eddie, Oh geez, well yeah, god,
thanks James.

Speaker 5 (34:11):

and then I just heard yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Yeah, and I'm like, what, okay, Toady crushing this.

Speaker 6 (37:53):

really matter?

Speaker 9 (44:14):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (44:14):
You know, ah, this is hard.

Speaker 14 (44:17):
This is really hard because I think, you know, obviously
it does play a role in things. I don't I
don't know if you've ever seen a micro penis, but uh,
size does matter?

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Okay, fair enough, right?

Speaker 5 (44:33):
This okay?

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 14 (44:36):
So then a couple of questions that we got last week.
It says, if a woman this is from the King, Rory,
King Rory. I'm sorry we missed this last week. This
was a very good question. Yeah, if a woman is
willing to lick a man's pickle, is it courteous for
the man to return the favor? And you know, return
the favor? And I think it really depends. I mean

(44:59):
some people, I know that sounds crazy, right, I think
it really depends though on what.

Speaker 7 (45:06):
Yeah, this should be good.

Speaker 14 (45:09):
Well, some people don't don't enjoy receiving, So I mean
you got to find out what your partner likes. Maybe
they just like, you know, servicing and that's fine too.

Speaker 5 (45:18):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
Okay, So what would be uh what would be the
indication there of like no, no, no, it's cool.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
You don't have to you know, do anything.

Speaker 14 (45:29):
You know, everyone has a different way of communicating that.

Speaker 5 (45:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (45:34):
Yeah, it all depends on your person. I'm just saying
you don't have to do it every time.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
Now, if b follow up question, if if the guy
just assumes like, hey, you all right?

Speaker 14 (45:46):
Yeah, and if she's down and if she's like pushing yeah,
if she if the motions are saying yes, go, then
go right.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
But what's the motion of the no is this kind
of like the wax on wax off? Just kind of
like noop, don't need to get nip, move the head.

Speaker 14 (46:00):
If she finishes the job and she feels like she's done, okay,
then and she gets up and she's like do you
want coffee? Do you want me to go get you
something like that's such a great moment and brace it
and be like okay, yeah, go get me a coffee
or get me a cigarette, whatever you need.

Speaker 3 (46:15):
Just let it happen.

Speaker 14 (46:15):
If they don't force it, don't force it. You don't
have to do it. That's what I'm saying it's not necessary.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
I hear you.

Speaker 14 (46:20):
Okay, let's see do you have any new ones on
there right now? No, it's okay. So the next question
from Donkey Sausage was, so, how far along in a
relationship do you have to be to be able to
burp or fart in front of your partner.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Oh, it's a good question, this is.

Speaker 7 (46:35):
A great question.

Speaker 14 (46:37):
I am never comfortable. I am never comfortable. Ever, I
will not do it. The first time I farted in
front of my guy, he picked me up and he
was bouncing me and grabbing my stomach and I didn't
I didn't even. Yeah, I couldn't help myself. And I
was so embarrassed, like, hide me in a closet for years.
And then you have people who think that that's the

(46:57):
first thing you should do is fart in front of someone,
same with using the restroom, close the door, give me
my privacy. Like, no, I won't do it, but other
people love it. I'm sure, Coop, I'm sure you far
in front of your girl all the time.

Speaker 7 (47:08):
Oh not all the time.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
I'm sure you do. I'm sure you do. You saved
