Speaker 1 (00:00):
Everybody. It's Brian no in for Big Ben. Hope you
enjoy the podcast. We talk about the Big Ten going
to a conference only schedule. Patrick mahomes, a lot of
stupidity in the sports world right now. I thought JJ
Reddick said something stupid, Jim Harbaugh, the NFL banning jersey swaps,
and of course we've got DeShawn Jackson Stephen Jackson and

(00:21):
we lighten it up. Some fast food, Roberto going with
Chick fil A and me writing my drive through wrongs
at Taco Bell and it didn't work out too well.
But hopefully you enjoy the podcast and it's good to
have you in for Ben Maller. How are you. I'm
glad things have obviously been taken care of. I'm good man,
I'm good. I'm hanging in there. I'm doing fantastic. Thank

(00:45):
you Eddie Garcia for you know what, here's the thing.
I can just see how this night is gonna go.
Do you realize how many tweets I'm gonna get and
you're gonna get saying just make Eddie Garcia the permanent
fill in guy? Why do we have this? No guy here?
You know what? How many tweets do you think you're
gonna get on that end at least, oh at least

(01:05):
at the very least. But hey, we're all hooked up,
we're ready to go. So it's all good. And you know,
I'm working on my thick skin. The Mallar Militia is
working on my thick skin for me. You know, they
show their love by being ultra negative at times. But
it's all good. But yeah, you're alluding to Eddie Garcia.
It's the big news of the day. That's exactly where

(01:27):
I was going. You know, you read my mind. The
Big Ten going to a conference only football schedule in
the twenty twenty season due to COVID concerns, COVID issues,
and when you walk your way through this Big Ten
Commissioner Kevin Warren, he says we might not have college
football this season. In the Big Ten, you have the

(01:50):
Ohio State a d. J. Gen Smith saying, I'm concerned
that we may not be able to play. And you
look right now just at the games that have been mixed,
the games that will not be taking place. Ohio State
at Oregon that was going to be a really good matchup,
Notre Dame against Wisconsin, that was going to be at
lambeau Field. That would have been a cool atmosphere, but

(02:12):
we don't have that. The Bowling Green a d Chimes
in here and says the decision by the Big ten
is the tip of the iceberg. And I agree with
this guy, Bob Moosebrugger. Bruger, I never heard of this
guy before. I completely agree with the Bowling Green a D.
I think he is right on point. I think this

(02:33):
is the tip of the iceberg here the acc they're
likely to go to a conference only schedule as well.
Here's the thing. I would love to be optimistic. I
would love to be mister positivity here. I would love
to put your worries at ease college football fans. I
love college football. I am a football junkie. But I

(02:54):
gotta be honest here. I hope I'm dead wrong, but
we're not gonna have football, at least college football in
the fall. I don't see it. I think the IVY
League has the right idea. They're saying no sports in
the fall. They're going to look at this come January first,
They're going to reevaluate where things stand. I think slowly

(03:17):
but surely that's how college football is going to follow suit,
because ask yourself this, this is what it comes down
to in my mind, what would it take to shut
down the college football season. Let's assume it starts, say
college football starts sometime in September. What would take to
shut it down? It would take exactly what's happening right now.

(03:43):
That's what it would take to shut it down. Clemson,
the last thing we heard this is over a week ago,
they had thirty seven positive test results players with covid
LSU had thirty players in quarantine. Not all of those
guys tested positive, but some of the guys that were
testing negative in quarantine had been around other people who

(04:05):
had tested positive, and then you just go school by
school by school. Texas had a bunch of positive tests.
Kansas State, Oklahoma, North Carolina the news we heard about
the tar Heels they had to shut down for a
week because there were thirty seven positive tests as of
Wednesday within their athletics programs. It's just that's what it

(04:29):
would take to stop the season, to halt the season.
So if that's what would halt the season, it doesn't
make sense to begin the season. That's where I come
out on it, and I wish I didn't I wish
I had some other view of this, but I think
that's just common sense. I think it's two plus two

(04:50):
weequals four here. Now, I do think there's some disparity
between college football in the NFL. The most obvious difference
NFL players are making a lot of money. They're professional athletes.
They're making millions of dollars, and I think the NFL
they've got a leg to stand on to say, hey,

(05:11):
you guys know the risks, you know, but this is
a business. We're moving forward. I think there's far less
negativity and criticism if the NFL just sort of surges
ahead compared to college football, because make no mistake, there's
still would be criticism should NFL players catch COVID, should

(05:33):
someone get very sick, deathly ill, if a coach caught
COVID and died, of course, the NFL would be scrutinized
for that. But compare that to college football. The big
difference is they're supposed to be amateur athletes quote unquote
in college, so the criticism would be far harsher if

(05:57):
college athletes are catching COVID, if a college coach is
catching COVID, it would just be there would be more
scrutiny based on the dynamics of it's supposed to be
amateurism in college versus professional athletes in the NFL. So
I think there is a big difference between the two.

(06:19):
And I look at at college football. When you just
do the math of this, I just don't see how
the landscape lends itself to college football being played in
the fall. If you look at the MLS and look
at the rest of the sports world, Like the Ryder
Cup in golf has been postponed until next year. That's

(06:41):
a golfing event. I look at football, look at MLS.
There have been two MLS teams that have dropped out
of the tournament that's going on right now, Nashville SC
and FC Dallas. If you need them, they've dropped out.
Do the math when it comes to the NFL or
when it comes to college football, like all of these

(07:03):
positive test results of college teams that are working out together,
some of these players that had tested positive before starting
their workouts, Like, what do you think is going to
happen when these guys are practicing together, when they're playing games,
when they're sweating and breathing on one another. If we

(07:25):
have all of these positive COVID test results right now,
what do you think is going to happen when they're
playing football? For real? They're just doing workouts and things
like that. They can socially distance doing this stuff. You
can't socially distance while playing football. So I just wish

(07:45):
I was more optimistic on this one. I do, But
I'm gonna tell you the honest truth. I'm not trying
to get a rise out of you or anything like that.
I'm just telling you what I think, And I don't
think they we're going to see a college football season
in the fall. I think it's going to be pushed
back like the IVY League. I think the IVY League
is ahead of the curve. This is like groundhog Day again.

(08:09):
Going back to the college basketball season, the timeline seems
to set itself up very similarly. Remember when the IVY
League they said, you know what, no conference championship COVID concerns,
We're not going to do it, And the reaction was like, WHOA,
what are they doing? Why are they panicking? And then

(08:29):
well everybody else followed suit and there was no college basketball,
so no March madness after the conference championships were conference
tournaments were canceled, and I look at the reaction right now,
It's not as harsh with the IVY League. No one said, oh,
the IVY leagues out of their mind. I think now

(08:50):
it's more like, yeah, yeah, they might have it right again.
But the reaction to someone like me saying, look, we're
not gonna have college football in the fall, the reaction
does mimic what we had during the college basketball season,
which was, what do you mean there's not gonna be

(09:11):
fans in attendance at these March Madness games. I guarantee
you there are people listening right now that are saying, gosh,
if Eddie Garcia could just be talking. No. Besides that,
they're saying, who's this guy filling in for Big Ben?
Saying I'm not going to have a college football season
to watch in the fall, and we become very territorial.

(09:32):
I want to see football more than anybody. I love
the sport. But if I'm putting my emotion to the
side and just looking at this logically, I see a
very similar timeline to college basketball, and I just don't
think you pushed through this one. There's no NBA bubble

(09:54):
here in college football, so I'll be very surprised. I
think it's just this slow, gradual like it's painful. Man,
it's like the uh, I don't know, it's like death
by a thousand cuts, right, Like we're starting to get
these little cuts where hey are no IVY League. Oh okay,

(10:14):
only conference schedules for the Big Ten and most likely
the ACCA. Okay, all right, and slowly but surely it's
moving toward you know what. We're just gonna have to
punt on football in the fall and reassess and hopefully
we can see it up in the spring. Your comments
more than welcome. Hit me up at the no Show
on Twitter. I'm Brian no In for Big Ben, coming

(10:36):
to you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on
car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote.
All right, lots to get to this evening goodness, Lots
of things I want to get to this coming up
next from the Geico studios. The NFL is just getting
crushed right now. Granted, no jersey swaps is a ridiculous idea,

(11:00):
but but it begs the question, what are some good
ideas to safeguard the players when it comes to COVID.
When you start walking down that road, you'll find that
there aren't many great ideas to come up with. We'll
discuss that coming up. I'm Brian No in for Big Ben.
This is Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live

(11:21):
editions of The Ben Maller Show weekdays at two am
Eastern eleven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app. It's Mallard twenty twenty and you can be
heard in the democracy of the Ben Maller Show. We
encourage and welcome the voice of the people that would
be you following the voice of tonight show on Twitter.
He's in for Ben Mallory's Brian No. He is at

(11:43):
the No Show NOE and you can tweet at and
follow me Eddie Garcia. Maybe I'll be hosting at some
point tonight. Who knows? I am the voice of reason
they say sometimes and I'm at Eddie on Fox No
plea for mister Gray and I'll lie from the Gico
Box Sports Radio Studios in for Ben Maller. It's Brian No,

(12:04):
Eddie Garcia. All honesty, here are you rooting for my
comrax to kind of fail me tonight. Are you are
you secretly rooting for that? No? No, not a little
piece of you, just a little portion. No, okay, fair enough.
Now there's something here that Coop was telling me a
minute ago. Now, Eddie, you know me. I'm a sports chunkie.

(12:26):
I do know a few things outside of sports, but typically,
if I can tell on myself, I'm the last to
arrive at the non sports party. If there's something social
media wise that's a big hit, I might be like, well,
I haven't heard about this. I just heard about this, okay, Karen.
Thing Coop enlightened me, and it used to be about,

(12:47):
as you won't know, Eddie. It's like the typical person
who would complain to the store manager, right like I've
got the superintendent's phone number, don't make me call you know,
that type of thing. And now it's this huge there's
a more meaningful deal going on because it's about someone
who's complaining about not wearing a mask or something about

(13:09):
social unrest. So the stakes have been raised this. Of
course I'm bringing it up because of your wife, right,
your wife's name is Karen. How do you receive all
of this stuff? Are you cool with it? How? Do
you feel about it? Yeah, I just ignore it. Honestly,
I'm not on social media much unless I'm at work,

(13:29):
so it doesn't really bother me. My wife is, though,
addicted to Twitter, and she's on it all the time,
and she's been having a pretty good time with it.
She's even tweeted, you know, things about quote unquote Karen.
But every once in a while she's like, oh god,
this is ridiculous. Some video post some video of some
woman being an idiot, and yeah, that's funny. Well, at

(13:51):
least she has a good attitude, because that could drive
you crazy. Man, for sure, I could see that where
it's like, ah, horrid. So I'm lumped in with everybody else, huh,
just because my name's Karen. That's pretty weak. This is
a huge stretch, there's no doubt. But it did remind
me of remember when the real Jerry Sandusky story at
Penn State broke, and that was a huge, huge story

(14:14):
that dominated not just sports but well beyond the Baltimore
Ravens play by play guy. His name is also Jerry Sandusky.
He spells his first name with the G. But there
were people tweeting him like all this crazy stuff and
He's like, I'm not that guy, you know what I mean.
So it's, oh, it's along similar lines where your Karen

(14:36):
is not like what's being portrayed on social media. She
just lumped in with it. So there are quite a
few Karen's out there. I don't know how many Jerry Sandusky's.
There are a few, but yeah, that's a tough break
for the Ravens. Jerry Sandusky, Yeah, yeah, no doubt. All right,
So I wanted to get to this. The NFL. They
came up with a new protocol over here, new game

(15:00):
day protocols, no jersey swaps in twenty twenty. I know,
I know this is really going to what do they
call it, flatten the curve. I don't think this is
really gonna flatten the curve. So they're just taking a
beating on social media. We transition from okay, Karen to

(15:20):
all the negativity toward the NFL, and deservedly so. Deshaun
Watson tweeted, that's damn silly, bro, and then he used
the forehead slap emoji, which is really starting to make
some headway over here in the sports realm. Laramie Tunsel
tackle with the Houston Texans he just put shaking my
head NFL as a joke. Richard Sherman, this is crazy.

(15:43):
Makes sure you're sitting down because Richard Sherman said something
critical about the NFL. Very surprising, he tweeted, and this
makes sense, He says, this is a perfect example of
NFL thinking in a nutshell. Players can go engage in
a full contact game and do it safely. However, it
is deemed unsafe for them to exchange jerseys after said game.

(16:07):
And one more here that bears a mention Darius Slay
now with the Eagles. He tweeted, So we can tackle
each other for sixty minutes, but can't exchange jerseys. That
takes two minutes, which is all very true. So this
is there's no doubt this is something silly that the
NFL is doing. It's a long similar lines as the

(16:30):
NBA saying you can play table tennis, but you can't
play doubles table tennis. It's silly. But here's the deal.
It's very easy. And I join these NFL guys and
anybody else saying this is a really odd move NFL.
If it's okay to play football, why would it be

(16:50):
a bad thing to swap jerseys, right, same thing in
the NBA. You're supposed to socially distance on the bench.
You're supposed to sit six feet away from your teammates
when you're not in the game. But if there happens
to be a time out and you huddle around each
other and drop a play, or walk shoulder to shoulder
to the locker room and sit by each other, completely

(17:12):
defeats the purpose. So yes, these are feudal attempts to
try to make things safer. So I agree it's a
silly move by the NFL to band jersey swaps. But
ask yourself this question. It's really easy to criticize the
NFL or the NBA or any of these leagues that

(17:32):
are trying to take safety measures, But what's your great idea? Right?
You hear this a lot. Where it's one thing to
be critical of an idea, it's another thing to come
up with the solution on your own. So if you're
saying this is stupid by the NFL, maybe fired off
a tweeter or two. Okay, great, I'm with you. I

(17:56):
agree it is it's ridiculous. What is a great idea?
Because I hear this a lot, man, the NFL lack
of planning. I'm not hearing anything. Well, what's college football
going to do? But especially directed at the NFL, they
just seem to be kicking their heels up on their desks,
like I will be fine, no reason to worry over here.

(18:20):
I don't think that's the case at all. There's so
much money on the line for the NFL. If there
was some sort of preventive measure they could take that
would give them a much better chance to have an
NFL season, don't you think they would put that in place.
The truth is, especially for the sport of football, there

(18:42):
isn't some great breakthrough preventative measure, safety precaution that's gonna
help things out in a huge way. Like again, I
ask you, what is it? What's the breakthrough? You can
test these players a lot, try to make sure that

(19:03):
you know they're all testing negative, and then if someone
tests positive, boom quarantine. That's it. What else do you have?
What else do you bring into the table short of
a vaccine, We're just trying to put a band aid
on an open gash with this thing. It's not gonna
do that much good. So I just I listen to
these people that criticize the NFL specifically and say, what

(19:27):
are you guys doing. It's like you're just progressing toward
the season thinking it's magically gonna work out. I don't
think that's it at all. I think that they're just realistically,
isn't some great measure you can take to ensure you
have a season? The NFLPA president j C. Tredder, he's
also a center for the Cleveland Browns. His quote was

(19:51):
that the NFL believes the virus will bend to football.
I don't think that's it at all. It's that there
isn't some great action to take. There isn't something to
implement where you would say, whoa game changer? Now, I'm
fully confident there's gonna be an NFL season. If there

(20:12):
is something, hit me up at the no show. I'd
love to hear what you have because it's so easy.
It's so easy to fire off a tweet and say
we're gonna be playing football for sixty minutes. The jersey
swap takes two minutes. This is stupid, Yeah, it is.
It's completely stupid. It makes no sense whatsoever. But my
question is, what does make sense? What is the precaution

(20:33):
to take and you'll find out when you start brainstorming,
it's like, huh uh, well, there's really not jack you
can do. You could do little things. The NFLPA is
suggested for the first three weeks of training camp more
no more than twenty people at a time together. Okay.

(20:57):
They've also suggested during the season, no eleven on eleven drills. Again,
these are little band aids on open wounds. There's no
major breakthrough here. So all I'm saying is this, If
you're critical of the NFL, I get it. If you're
critical of the jersey swaps being banned, I totally understand it.

(21:20):
But when you spin it forward, it's one thing to
knock someone else's idea, But what's your great idea? What's
your solution that could make a big difference. I don't
think there is one. I don't think there is, so
I think that you have to tone down the criticism
a little bit if you aren't bringing a solution to

(21:41):
the table yourself. That's why I stand. You could differun that,
but feel free to hit me up with your solutions.
I would love to hear the best that you have
to offer. When it comes to trying to safeguard some
of these players with a global pandemic going on, and
they're playing a contact at slash collision sport, breathing on

(22:03):
each other. I'm all ears with the solutions that you
have to safeguard these players. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Ben Maller Show weekdays at two am
Eastern eleven pm Pacific. Brian I mentioned very briefly when
I started off the show there that all of the
NBA teams are now in Orlando for the restart of
the season. And I am not one to be easily

(22:25):
offended that, you know, nicknames and all that kind of
stuff don't really bother me. And I won't say this
offended me, but I really didn't find it very funny.
Did you see Joe Lmbid of the Philadelphia seventy six
ers showed up for the flight to Orlando wearing a
hazmat suit? Yeah? I mean, did anybody think that was

(22:45):
Did anybody laugh out loud at that? And anybody think that,
you know, let's let's make some COVID jokes right now,
you know, people out of work and we're gonna Maybe
I'm just bitter because of the college football news, but
I'm like, I didn't really think that was very funny. Hey, man,
I hear you on Matt. I didn't have the same reaction.
But you make a great point. You absolutely make a
great point, because yeah, think about the effects, think about

(23:07):
the positive test results, the deaths, the unemployment. And Joel's
just like, I think this would get him laughing like crazy.
Let me wear a hazmat suit on the flight to Orlando.
Mission accomplished. He wanted his picture on the internet, he
wanted people to talk about it, and I guess he succeeded.
But I was just like, yeah, that's hilarious. Yeah, yeah, sarcasm, Yeah, yeah, absolutely,

(23:31):
I hear you on that. You know what, Eddie, that's
why you know you think of things from a different
point of view. I like that because I did not
have that view, but I could see how someone would
so good stuff. Look at you, You're just bringing stuff
to the table. Here. I'm Brian noe In for Big Ben.
We're coming to you Alive from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen percent or more
on car insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot com

(23:53):
or call eight hundred nine four seven Auto the only
hard part figuring out which way is easier. Okay. Something
else that didn't exactly get a lot of laughs. It
would be uh, DeShawn Jackson's initial post about white Jews,
Stephen Jackson, former NBA player, co signing it, signing off

(24:17):
giving him a thumbs up, a salute. This guy is
right over here, he's speaking the truth. He went on CNN.
Stephen Jackson didn't said he could have been clearer about
his comments. That's true. I think he could have been
accurate about his comments. That would be the other part
of this. Here here is Stephen Jackson on CNN. No,

(24:39):
I don't support any of that. Maybe I could have
been more clear of what I thought Deshan was correct about,
but I didn't feel I didn't feel the need to
go into a conversation than me and him had about
how they was treating him. In Riley Cooper, I could
have changed those words. Okay, look what yeah, if if

(25:03):
you're looking at DeShawn Jackson versus Riley Cooper, okay, I
hear you on that. Hey, Riley Cooper used the N word,
and the next thing you know, he eventually gets a
contract extension. So if you're looking at the differences between
those players. Okay, I get it, but there's nothing that
will justify Stephen Jackson saying, oh, Deshaun, he was right

(25:24):
on the money, he was right for boasting what he No,
he wasn't at all at all. So there's nothing that
can make that right. He was dead wrong. These were
conspiracy theories in the nineteen thirties that weren't even true.
They have nothing to do with twenty twenty. White Jews
are not trying to take over the world right now.
It made zero sense. So to co sign that that

(25:46):
is the weakest apology ever to say, I could have
been clearer with my comments over you could have been
accurate with your comments. That's I think that's what you're
looking for. But we've got Julian Edelman. This is the
latest chapter in this whole installment. Here, Julian Edelman was
on Twitter Patriots Wide receiver, and he made a couple

(26:09):
of comments about DeShawn Jackson's initial post. So check this out.
So to that end, Deshaan, let's do a deal. How
about we go to DC and I take you to
the Holocaust Museum and then you take me to Museum
of African American history and culture. Afterwards, we grab some

(26:30):
burghers and we have those uncomfortable conversations. I think that's mature.
I think that's how progress is made. And I really
really appreciate what Julian Edelman is saying here. I think
he could say, dude, there were six million Jewish people
that were murdered in World War Two, and you're posting

(26:54):
these conspiracy theories thinking you're quoting Hitler turns out to
be a fake quote. Really, are you serious right now?
And then what gets accomplished from that? How do things
move forward? How do things get better? So I thought
that was a very good approach by Julian Edelman, and
he also he mentioned this about the Black Lives Matter movement.

(27:15):
Check this portion out from Julian Edelman. Even though we're
talking about anti semitism, I don't want to distract from
how important the Black Lives Matter movement is and how
we need to stay behind it. Again, I think that's
just very mature. I think that's a very reasonable adult
reaction to Deshaun Jackson posting stuff there that made absolutely

(27:38):
zero sense. The portion of it that was on Jackson's
Instagram story. This is on Monday. This is what Julian
Edelman just responded to. The initial post reads about white
Jews will blackmail America, they will extort America, their plan
for world domination won't work if the Negroes know who
they were. So Julian Edelman and being Jewish could be

(28:01):
like what and just be often running like this is
what's wrong with desh and ask yourself how does progress
get made that way? So again, I thought it was
just a very very adult, mature reaction from Julian Edelman
to say, hey, to Sean, I invite you to the
Holocaust Museum. I'll go to an African American museum of

(28:24):
your choice. We can have an uncomfortable conversation afterward and
just try to grow. I think that makes a lot
of sense. And in these days, let's be honest, there
are a lot of people that aren't doing that, and
that's what it takes to have growth, to move forward,
and we're just ready to pounce on anything that's wrong,

(28:46):
call you out, cancel you, get out of my life,
like that's not how things get better. So I think
Julian Edelman has a very wise approach on this one,
and that's what inspires growth. That that is what to
positive change is to come to an understanding, So props
to him on that. Hopefully we can move forward and

(29:07):
get our focus back on things that need to change.
That's what made no sense to me is our focus
for the most part was in the right place of
how do we make things better? How do we treat
people equally and with respect. I don't know why you
would feel the need to post something that you thought
was a Hitler quote that gets us talking about all

(29:30):
this other stuff that has nothing to do with the
movement in the progress that's being made. Didn't make any
sense whatsoever. Okay, a little bit later in the show
next hour, we'll have the Stupidity Power rankings, because there
have been some stupid comments recently and we're just gonna
put together a list. We'll see what the hierarchy is

(29:51):
of that. Okay, coming up next from the Geico Studios,
I've I'm gonna lighten it up here a little bit
because I've got I've got an outside the box take,
I've got an out I've got against the grain take
against something that was incredibly popular I don't know how
popular it is anymore. And then also a player that

(30:12):
is being sold way too short. Both of those stories
coming up. I'm Brian no in for Big Ben. This

in for Ben Maller. It's Brian no. I got a
question for you, Eddie Garcia. You're a well cultured man.

(30:55):
Over here. I'm just listening to this from Snoop and
and I'm thinking, you know what's funny. If you watch
an older movie, it just seems so old, you know
what I mean? There are times where it seems like that.
With music, it doesn't seem the same way. I don't
listen to this song and think, wow, this is so old.

(31:17):
Music has come a long way. I'm like, this song
is unbelievable. Like, for instance, I've been dating this girl
here in the Portland area. I went over there. She
put on Beethoven, the movie Yesterday with the Dog, Yes,
and then you broke up with her. Yeah. I was like,

(31:38):
I hesitate to ask what her age is. I think
she's a teenager, but she's a legal age. She's of
legal age, so she's thirty two. And I'm like, why
are we watching this horrible movie? But I'm you know,
I'm that was your inside voice. Not that's exactly what
it was. She was testing you. This guy is this

(32:02):
guy really likes me, He's I want to sit through
this awful movie, right, or or he has no testicles whatsoever? Yeah? Right,
But you know what I'm saying, Right, there are certain
movies where you're like, this is so outdated, just everything
about it, how it looks, what the people are dressed,
like the way they say things. You know, It's not

(32:24):
like that with music nearly as much. And I'm just
curious as to why why do you think that is?
I don't know, that's a good point. I've never really
thought about it, but I can see where you're coming
from on that. Yeah, I don't know. I don't have
a good theory on that, but uh yeah, it seems
to be the difference of it. By the way, let
me ask you one more thing here, Eddie. Are you
a fan of Shark Week? No, yeah, I'm not either. Now.

(32:49):
I don't mean it's got to be in like it's
twentieth year. I mean, you know that thing's been going
on forever. I just saw commercials about it. Shark Fest
is about to start on July ninth on National Geographic.
It's gonna be five full weeks. We had five full
weeks of sharks. And my whole thing is this used

(33:10):
to be incredibly popular. I don't think it's nearly as
popular as it once was. But I just don't get
the fascination with it, Eddie. Like they are five weeks
of one thing here. It's like, we get it sharks, Okay,
we show some footage of it, all right, it's mean
it ate something that killed something. Oh you know, look
how how quickly it swims. We get it, right. We

(33:32):
know what's going on with sharks at this point, don't
we I would think so, but obviously they wouldn't still
be doing it if people weren't watching. So you guys
are not fans of Shark Nato. Okay, Yeah, it's okay.
I don't get the fascination with it. But it's similar
with Shark Week. Mates. Every time I hear every time
I hear Shark Week, I think of the step Brothers.

(33:56):
But right, you made the best point, Eddie. If it
wasn't getting any ratings whatsoever, no one cared about it,
they wouldn't devote five weeks to it. So I mean,
like I said, I don't I don't know how long
it's been on. Maybe we can somebody can google it
real quick, but it's it's been on a long time.
I mean, this, this thing's been going on for quite
some time. I mean I've almost been here twenty years,

(34:18):
which is insane. I think Shark Week has been around
as long as I've been working year. Think about, um,
if you compare it to this's gonna be random, but
follow me one years, Holy cow. Think about compare it
to Hard Knocks, the HBO series. Right, it's the same.

(34:39):
It's a similar setup each year, but but the storylines change,
Like what changes with sharks. Year after year. They're still
eating the same things. They're still they're still terrifying. Yeah, yeah, sharks.
They're not getting any bigger, right, I don't think there's
no like giant monster sharks, even though there's movies about that,

(35:01):
but they don't actually exist. I don't think no, they're
still yeah crazy all right. I wanted to mention this, Uh,
Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys running back. So he was responding
to there's one NFL offensive coach that ranked Ezekiel Elliott

(35:22):
the eleventh best running back in the NFL. And the
quote is very few breakout runs, doesn't look as strong anymore.
Feels like he's about sixty to seventy percent of what
he was. And Ezekiel Elliott tweeted, and this was very
well played. Whoever that is is faded, lool and this

(35:43):
is this is savvy over here, because Zeke is actually
talking about himself. He had a video recently and said this, alright,
it would help if I plugged my stuff in there.
But he said, I'm low key faded, bro, and so
that's what he's alluding to here. He says, whoever that
is saying this about me, I'm the eleventh best running

(36:04):
back is faded, and Zeke is right. He's absolutely right
if you look at what he did last season. I
know the Cowboys were eight and eight, but if you
look at what he did individually, three hundred and one carries,
thirteen hundred and fifty seven rushing yards, twelve touchdowns. Oh
and he also added catching the ball fifty four grabs,

(36:26):
four hundred and twenty yards, two touchdowns. Oh, bro, I'm
low key faded. Bro. There it is. That's very well done.
And so that's what he was alluding to. But he's right,
This guy, this offensive coach is saying he's the eleventh
best guy who's on the list. I know there are
some good running backs, Zeke is not eleventh in the

(36:48):
packing order. It isn't that deep in talent. I think
that's crazy. And you also had this ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
He put together there was a pole there of fifty
league ex acutives, coaches, scouts and players. In that poll,
Ezekiel Elliott was third. He was ranked third behind Christian
McCaffrey and sae Quon Barkley. That makes a lot more

(37:11):
sense than putting him eleventh. That is just that's strikingly low.
I think it's because the Cowboys went eight and eight
and somehow Zeke his individual shine got lessened. It shouldn't
be lessened to that degree. I think that's crazy. That's
looney tune stuff, all right, coming up next from the
Geico Studios. This guy is an absolute stud there's no doubt,

(37:33):
but he has no chance to be the top dog.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific. Man
freakin covid, Right, I've just listened in to Eddie Garcia's
update and he's doing a fantastic job. He's given us
all the facts on the news over here. But you

(37:55):
just go bullet point by bullet point by bullet point,
and it's just Big ten playing a conference only football
schedule in twenty twenty, ACC expected to do the same
thing conference only football schedule, and we just start going
one by one by one by one. It's just like, ah, man,

(38:16):
you know, here's the deal. I think a lot of
sports fans are similar in this way. I think that
the summer months, like the spring and summer months, what
has helped a lot of us through that time without
many live sports going on whatsoever. Was this hope that
we were going to have a football season. Football was

(38:38):
eventually going to roll around. And now when you're getting
this news about the Big Ten conference only football schedule,
acc doing the same thing. You're hearing some of these
quotes from Kevin Warren. He is the Big Ten commissioner
saying we might not have a college football season in
the Big Ten. Like he said that on the same

(39:00):
day that the conference announced a conference only football schedule,
and he's saying, yeah, we might not have a season
at all in the Big Ten. Time will tell. I
think that when you start looking at the sports landscape,
I'm even more hopeful that the NBA bubble works out

(39:22):
because here's the deal. One we would have live sports
to watch, and that's absolutely welcomed. At this stage, I
think the bubble has a fighting chance to work out
because it isn't like, you know, it's not like players
are out and about and going to the grocery store
and you know, maybe they're around someone that has COVID,

(39:44):
they catch it. It spreads, you know, how it works.
I think the bubble gives the NBA much more of
a fighting chance to complete its season. I'll tell you what,
if the bubble doesn't work, Ain't nothing working until there's
a vaccine. That's what we're looking at here, and I
hate that that's the case, but that's what we're looking at.

(40:05):
The Bowling Green a d He said, the decision by
the Big ten is the tip of the iceberg, and sadly,
I think he's right on the money with that. I
think that sometimes we're just lying to ourselves because we
won a football season. Jim Harbaugh was doing that, the
Michigan head coach. He was saying, Oh, yeah, that's sports.

(40:26):
They they don't spread COVID nineteen. It's actually, Jim, like,
it could absolutely work like that, right, come on, we
understand how this virus works. There's a reason why you're
supposed to supposed to cover your face and socially distance
yourself from others because if you don't, you could pick

(40:48):
it up. So if you're a football player and someone
breathes on you and has it and then you go
to the grocery store you're around some other co ed
or whatever, like, yeah, of course it could spread. I
think we're just lying to ourselves hoping that there will
be a football season. I heard from Rod on Twitter.
He put, I hope your college football prediction is as
bad as your barbecuing. I thought that was very well played.

(41:10):
That was funny. I posted a picture. I was burning
the holy hell out of some pork chops this evening.
They still tasted really good. Nope, I'm totally fine with
eating very charred, very well done, overcooked food. So it
still tasted good. Rob checked in another guy, not Rob Sloan,

(41:31):
but different Rob, heavy metal metal head Rob. Yep. He says,
you come out with doom and gloom. What's next? Are
you wanting to kick my dog too? I hate to
be that guy. I would love to sit here and
be like, listen, settle down, we're gonna have a football season.
The Big ten's overreacting, the ACC's overreacting. It's gonna be
Jess fine, they're gonna play the full slate. I don't

(41:53):
believe that at all. I just don't think if you
look at this objectively and use common sense, I just
don't see how there's going to be a college football
season in the fall. I'm Brian nooe In for Big Ben,
coming to you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios,
fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on

(42:13):
car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote. Okay,
So I saw a quote from Patrick Mahomes and I
wanted to dive into it here because he was a
guest on the Shop you know, Lebron show on HBO
and he said, I didn't understand how to read defenses
until like halfway through twenty eighteen. I was just playing.

(42:37):
And so there are a lot of people that look
at that and say, wow, if Mahomes didn't know how
to read defenses that year, it was his first year
as a starting quarterback. He threw fifty touchdown passes nearly
fifty one hundred yards and he's just learning on the fly.
What is this guy capable of? Totally reasonable, Absolutely, I

(43:02):
see all the logic in a statement like that. Where
it swings. The other way is when that extension kicks in.
He was doing all of these special things on his
rookie deal. Now hear me out on this one because
I think it can go too far where there's a
lot of talk out there where, hey, who are the

(43:23):
quarterbacks that have won a Super Bowl recently? Who are
making top five top ten quarterback money. Where are these guys?
What does that list look like? Okay, there's some truth
to that, But when you start going through that and
you look at the details, I think that statement is

(43:43):
misleading because look at a few quarterbacks. Look at Drew Brees,
good example. Drew Brees was making major money. Look at
the Nolan no call like pass interference clear as day,
Saints should have been in the Super Bowl, would have
been in the super Bowl if the proper call is made,
might ended up beating the Patriots. Who knows. But the

(44:05):
point is the Saints with a high priced quarterback should
have been a super Bowl team all right, So they
weren't held back by how much they were paying Drew Brees.
Think about Matt Ryan another good example. Matt Ryan, Falcons quarterback,
was making major money when the Falcons were in the
Super Bowl twenty eight to three lead. If Kyle Shanahan

(44:28):
runs the ball late with an eight point lead, they're
winning a Super Bowl. Okay, So it wasn't Matt Ryan's
contract that prevented the Falcons from winning it all. That's
a coin flip game. The odds were overwhelmingly in their
favor when they were up twenty eight to three. It's
a coin flip game late that came went into overtime.
So I don't think we can make more than there

(44:49):
is to make out of these high priced quarterbacks. And
how much of a roadblock it is for teams to
win a Super Bowl. I think that's blown out of proportion.
So with that being said, I think it applies to
Patrick Mahomes where it's going to be challenging for them
to win Super Bowls consistently, but it doesn't prevent them

(45:13):
from ever winning another Super Bowl. For anyone who says, oh,
these high priced quarterbacks they never win super Bowls, are
you betting against Patrick Mahomes every single year that he's
not gonna win a Super Bowl after this big extension
kicks in. No, that would make no sense. But it's
somewhere in the middle. Okay, we've talking extremes a lot
when we're discussing sports these days. It isn't oh my gosh,

(45:37):
these high priced quarterbacks, none of them win super Bowls.
You can't win one with one of those guys. No,
that's not true. And the other side of this doesn't
make sense either, which is, ah, no big deal, you
got Mahomes, You're good. No, it's somewhere in between where
if you look at Mahomes and what he's done, it's
been unbelievable. He's been a stud. He's the only quarterback

(46:00):
in NFL history to win a League MVP and a
Super Bowl before turning twenty five years old, youngest QB
to be named Super Bowl MVP. His credentials speak for themselves.
But all of that was being done on a rookie deal.
And when this major money kicks in, you're looking at
the cap hit in twenty twenty seven, it's fifty nine

(46:24):
point five million dollars. It'll never dip below forty million
after twenty twenty five. That's a lot of cash. And
that's much different than what we've seen from the Chiefs
thus far. So there's nothing wrong with asking is Patrick

(46:44):
Mahomes still gonna be putting up these monstrous numbers if
he isn't surrounded by talent as good? Are the Chiefs
going to be challenging and winning Super Bowls if they
don't have a similar supporting cast around Patrick Mahomes. Those
are all legitimate questions, and that isn't anything that's overly

(47:07):
critical or coming from a place of negativity or that's
all legit. And I would say this also, I think
that Mahomes he's got a great chance to have a
brilliant career. I think he would. I would bet heavily
that he does. He's just a study, he's a difference maker.
And I still think that he can be productive. Even
if he doesn't have a collection of Tyreek Hill and

(47:30):
Travis Kelsey and all these guys. Someone's got to go.
You can't pay everybody. Even if he doesn't have the
same type of talent, I still think he can elevate
the players around him and still be very successful. But
the thing where I hear all of this about, hey,
he could he could be better than Brady. He could
be the goat he has, as brilliant as he is,

(47:50):
as big of a stud as he is, he has
no chance to have a better career than Tom Brady. None.
And I know it's dangerous to speak in absolutes, but
it's true. When this deal kicks in, there are two
more cheap years relatively speaking, for Patrick Mahomes, especially in
twenty twenty. He's making less than three million, So the

(48:11):
next two years combined, talking about twenty seven million, that's cheap.
When this kicks in after the twenty twenty one season,
and you'll see the impact on the roster. There's no
way he's going to have more success than Tom Brady.
Tom Brady was taking discounts consistently. That makes an impact.

(48:33):
And for the Chiefs when the talent around the QB
starts to go south a little bit, when we're talking
about Mahomes winning five more Super Bowls to just equal
Tom Brady, that is not happening. Sorry. And I look
at this also where you can say, well, Brian, how
do you know that? Just look at the last season

(48:54):
that the Chiefs had. They're the only team in NFL
history to be trailing by at least ten points in
every playoff game they had. Now, there are two ways
to look at this one. You could look and say, well, Brian,
that just shows how tough they are to beat. You
come back from a double digit deficit three straight games.

(49:15):
That just shows how bright the future is, okay. Or
you could look at it this way and say, yeah,
although it shows how tough they are to beat, how
resilient they are, all of those things, that's not a
great long term formula, and that was when Mahomes was
on his rookie deal. What happens when the talent around

(49:37):
him isn't as good. Do you really think that the
Chiefs are still that great where they're winning at least
five more Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes. I don't see
it at all at all. Like being down twenty four
to nothing against the Texans, Yeah, on one hand, it's
very impressive they came back from that. On the other hand,

(50:00):
it shows just how far away they were from being bulletproof.
And when that deal kicks in, I just I don't
see them being this juggernaut going forward. And one other
stat here, just for context. This is gonna sound like
it's you know, I'm splitting hairs here, but just try

(50:23):
it on for size. I know how brilliant Mahomes is.
I know how great of a stud he is. He's
the number one quarterback. He's the best player in football,
there's no doubt about that. But this idea that he's
like Moses parting the Red Sea, and there's no mistake
that Patrick Mahomes has even thought about making that's what
it's turning into. He's turning into this Paul Bunyan like character.

(50:46):
He's not that guy, not to that extent. If you
look at him in the Super Bowl, his passer rating
in that game, even with the comeback and he was
great when it counted late, was seventy eight point six.
Just for context, Baker Mayfield's passer rating last year was

(51:06):
seventy eight point eight. That's right. Baker Mayfield last year
for the Browns, as suspect as he was twenty two
touchdowns twenty one picks, did not play well, received a
lot of criticism, and deservedly so. Baker mayfield season last
year in terms of passer rating, it was higher than
Mahomes in the Super Bowl against the forty nine ers.

(51:29):
And although that seems incredibly nitpicky, and the guy made
the plays late when he had to make them, brought
the Chiefs back. They want a super Bowl. History will
reflect greatly on Patrick Mahomes. I'm not selling him short
with what he accomplished, But when you look at that
and you're trying to project the future, when you look
at that game, the contract kicking in his numbers, having

(51:55):
being impacted by the talent around him, that doesn't equal
five super Bowls going forward at all. So I think
this guy is a stud I still think he's gonna
have a brilliant career, yet he has no chance to
have more success than Tom Brady. Your comments more than welcome.
At the No Show is where you can hit me up.

(52:15):
I'm curious what you think about that, but that's the
true I'll tell you this, It'll be very exciting to
see how it unfolds for Mahomes. I can't wait for
that first year what we're talking to, twenty twenty two
season when that extension kicks in, because I want to
see one the impact on the roster who they have
to let go and two hot is Mahomes fair that

(52:37):
season along with the team's success. But your comments again,
more than welcome on that. All right? Coming up next
from the Geico Studios, we've got a smart guy saying
something stupid and then we get to the stupidity power rankings.
The tail of the tape when it comes to a
couple of the photo finished with a couple of figures
in sports, we'll get to that right around the corner.

(52:57):
I'm bribing no in for Big Ben. This is Fox

Loup Justin Cooper, and he's at you, h Bronco fan
and a lie from a guy co Fox Sports Radio Studios.
In for Ben Mallory, it's Brian No. By the way, Eddie,
I've got some incredibly positive news here to report. Are
you ready for this? Hold on a second, Okay, Okay,

(54:30):
I'm ready, Okay, I'm glad. I'm glad you paused for
a second because our guy Roberto he had Chick fil
A for the first time ever. Wow, yes, that go Roberto.
Pretty good. Man, ain't gonna lie, he said. He felt
great afterward. He wasn't blot off. Yeah great, felt like,

(54:50):
you know, rattling off at five k Yeah. If he
had to the spicy Deluxe with the large fries and
a large coke, and I felt great. You're anti fast
food still, Eddie, right, Uh, but you just don't take
that's really good. I mean it's fast food a bit. Yeah,

(55:11):
I mean, yeah, I'm not eating fast food because I'm
you know, watching what I eat and all that, which
I always watch. But uh, I mean no, I would
live Chick fil A absolutely, I'd love Chick fil A.
I mean in and out Burger. I don't think it's
the greatest thing in the world, but it's good. You
know some people love it. Um oh god, what what?

(55:33):
What's the place that Ben loves so much? The chicken
finger places? Drawn a blank raising canes, raising canes? Really good?
I love that? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, well that's good. You're
not anti fast food, You're just you know, you're watching
what you eat there. And I will say this, I
was talking to somebody on Twitter last night about this.
When you get off of fast food for a long
time and then you go back and you remember, oh

(55:54):
it was so good, and then you eat it, you're like, oh, man,
I feel terrible. Wow. And I used to live on that. Yeah,
the Golden Arch is like that for me. Man, that
is pretty true. I was. You know, it's funny, Eddie,
because um, I went to LJS the other day. I've
been not eating fast food for a while now. LJS. Oh,

(56:16):
I know somebody that works somebody that works here. Uh
who went there and got very, very sick and never
went back east Who Dan Buyer? He used to love
going to I used to love going to McDonald's, and
McDonald's one time made me deathly ill. I don't know
what happened there. I used to My first job was

(56:39):
working in McDonald's. Yeah, I was burger king. That was
my first real job, was burger king. But uh, yeah,
I went to Long John Silver's the other night, and
I'm like, man, I haven't had much fast food for
a while. I hadn't had LJS in a long time. Yeah.
All the cool people say they're deep in the game. Say, okay,
mc right, yeah, yeah, exactly right. And I get ready.

(57:02):
I gotta you know my fish, my add a piece
of chicken, the shrimp, everything I opened the box. No fries,
not one fry. How are you gonna do me like that?
Lgs right, you gotta go back get your fries. Right.
I didn't realize it until I was home, and I'm like,
I'm oh, you always got a check? Ban yeah, always
got a check just a quick I'm driven back to

(57:24):
the restaurant. I won't even leave my position next to
the window before I check. I'm not gonna like drive
away and then have to come back. I'm like, oh no,
I'm not moving until I check and make sure I'm good.
I've got another quick story for you. So okay, it
sounds like I'm not exactly adhering to my lack of
fast food eating. But within the last month, I was

(57:46):
at a taco bell right yeah, and so um, I
go to pay and the drive through guy was like, oh,
the car in front of you got your meal, and
I was like, sweet, that's nice. And and so I
got my tacos, I got my Mountain dew. I'm about
to take off, and I don't remember what I asked him.

(58:07):
I asked him some type of question and he said, oh, yeah,
they've been doing that, like the last six cars will
pay for the person behind them, so you were supposed
to do it too. And I was just about to
take off, and I'm like, I peek behind me, like
should I keep this going? But in my head I
was thinking free tacos, baby, and I just was like

(58:29):
and I took off and I immediately felt bad. I
immediately felt bad, like I totally I didn't keep it going.
It ended with the streak ended with me. But I
tell you what I would have done. I would have
peeked in the river mirror. If it's a family of
the eat, then I'm driving away. If it's you know,
one or two people, I might have kept it going.
You just stick your middle finger out the window. But

(58:55):
but this is where it comes full circle because I
was at the same drive through. Now this is this
is the Taco Bell slash LJS. It's one of those
combo fast food places, a really fancy place. Debt Yeah,
yeah right there. Taco Supremes taste like fish. I hate

(59:18):
going there because it's it tries to me crazy where
I'm like, ah, man, I was here for LJ. The
tacos sound really good, but anybody, Yeah, I couldn't do that.
I could pull the trigger on that, but I harkened
back to being the cheap skate and I felt bad
the whole time. So I was like, you know what,
I should pay my debt here. I should pay for
the car behind me and make good on that. So

(59:39):
I did exactly what you said, Eddie. I did. I
peeked behind me, single dude, nobody else in the car.
I'm like, perfect. So I tell the drive through girl.
I was like, hey, I just want to pay for
the car behind me. She goes, oh kay, that's cool.
It has to be two separate transactions. I'm like fine.
So she rings up the first order, she's about to
ring up the second order, looks at me and she goes,

(01:00:01):
it's twenty seventy four. Is that okay? I don't stone
it was one guy. It was like, perfect, this is
gonna be like six or seven bucks. It was twenty
seventy four. I'm like that, that's right. I should have.

(01:00:21):
That's what I get for not paying it the first time.
That makes so you did it? Yeah, oh yeah, I
paid for it. It was actually four dollars and thirty
seven cents, and she pocketed the other. I hadn't thought
about that angle, but you might be right. They're running
game on us over here. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Ben Maller Show weekdays at two am

(01:00:42):
Eastern eleven pm Pacific. Did you see, Brian that Kim Newton,
the new quarterback of the New England Patriots, Uh is
going to wear number one, the same number you wore, uh, Carolina.
I think the same number at Auburn as well? Right?
I think you were number one at Auburn. Was he
one or two? Might be he was one, one or two?

(01:01:03):
You're right, it was a single digit. I remember now
there was someone who was wearing number one with the
New England Patriots, and that was the mascot pat Patriot.
So the question is what deal did Kim work out
with the mascot to get to wear number one? Did
he give him like one of those fancy hats that

(01:01:24):
he likes to wear? A scarf for some kind of
crazy suits. I love that That's what they should do.
They should have pat Patriot wear sort of like the scarf,
as if that was his payment for getting up the
number one that would be pretty funny. Actually, I love that. Yeah,
and you know the backstory because Pat Patriot used to
wear number zero and they show, yeah, they showed Robert Kraft.

(01:01:49):
He was on a golf cart and he was like
being driven up toward the stadium and there was a
fan that came up to him and he was like, hey,
we got to change this mascot's number over here. And
Robert Kraft was like, what number is he And the
guy was like, he's number zero And Robert Kraft was like,
I like your idea. And that's why they changed the number.

(01:02:11):
It was some random fan that went up to Robert
Kraft because Pat Patriot was number zero at one time.
There you go here, following Kim Newton was number two
at Auburn. There you go. Yeah. But now I love that.
That's great. I love the stories of players paying teammates
to get their number because this goes back to the Giants.

(01:02:31):
There are so many stories. But Jeff Fiagels remember the
old punter for the Giant. He switched his number because
Eli wanted number ten, and then he had the same number.
I think he switched from ten to seventeen. And then
Plexico Burris went over there, and then he wanted that number,
and so he got a bunch of free stuff, Like

(01:02:52):
he got his deck paid for, he got all kinds
of stuff between ELI and Plexico. Buris to change two
different numbers. That's the way you do it, man. I
wonder what the story is as far as like the
greatest haul for a number. Yeah, I wonder if anybody
has type deal, you know, if they just get it yearly,

(01:03:13):
if with the one number transaction over there. But yeah, right,
I would love to know the the top five biggest
hauls when it comes to switching your jersey number. That's
that's good. That'd be a good buck. Actually, I'm probably
no in for Big Ben coming to you live from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It's easy to say
fifteen percent or more on car insurance with Geico. Go
to Geico dot com or call eight hundred nine four

(01:03:35):
seven Auto. The only hard part figuring out which way
is easier. All right, malon Militia, you want to check in,
I'll get right to you. We've got Sam in La
has a thought on mister Mahomes. What's going on? Sam? Hey,
Bryan totally agree with you. Mahomes is not going to
have the team's success because of the contract of the money.
But he may still put up the Lebron argument for

(01:03:56):
best player. Yes, it's hard in football, but if he
can high fifteen, sixteen, twenty years of incredible stats and
carry his team to some postseason success, someone like me
who loves Lebron, it seems he's better that mj could
say he passes the eye test, he has the physical
tools and look at all of this success. Jordan could

(01:04:17):
have done this with these teammates. So that's maybe the
argument he could stick. But it's got going to be easy. Yeah,
I hear you on that, man. I think that's a
good argument, and thanks for checking in, Sam. It's one
of those deals where I still think, especially for a quarterback,
if Mahomes ends up with let's say four rings, and

(01:04:37):
he has better numbers, maybe not by leaps and bounds,
but to not have as many rings as Tom Brady,
we know when it comes to rings. I just have
a hard time envisioning that Mahomes is the consensus goat
being two three rings shy of Brady, You know what

(01:05:01):
I mean. It's just the rings chase for quarterbacks. It's
just mammoth. It's huge. But the counter argument to Sam's point,
there are some people that say Peyton Manning was better
than Tom Brady. Those people are high and trunk and
baked out of their minds at the same point, Sorry, Coop,
but I'm speaking the truth here. Like Tom Brady didn't

(01:05:24):
wet himself nearly as many times in the playoffs as
Peyton Manning. But there are there are some people that
will say Peyton Manning was a better quarterback than Tom Brady.
I don't buy it for one second. But to Sam's point,
you could have people saying Mahomes was better than Brady,
even if he doesn't get to the same rings count

(01:05:45):
because there are some people that will tell you Peyton
Manning was better than Tom Brady. I just think the
consensus we know that that's the minority. That's the vast
minority for anyone who says Peyton was better than Brady.
I think it would be a similar situation with Mahomes
and to get to six rings with the money he's commanding.
That's what cracks me up to all these people. It's

(01:06:07):
a team friendly deal. There are aspects that are team friendly.
You get two cheap years before the extension kicks in. Yeah,
that's team friendly, no trade clause. Okay, that's fine. As
far as the way the deal is structured, they could
get out from under it. It's weird because it's these

(01:06:29):
roster bonuses that trigger, So if the Chiefs pick up
the roster bonus one year, it triggers for the next
one or two years to automatically be picked up. So
it's not as easy to get rid of Mahomes. I
don't think it'll ever come to that. But in terms
of what he could have commanded, that's the better example
is it could have been tied to the salary cap,

(01:06:50):
maybe fifteen percent, and it would just kind of go
up each year. So there are aspects that are team friendly,
but at the end of the day, it's almost a
half billion dollars. He's not gonna reach that because he's
not gonna reach all the incentives. But a half billion dollars.
You can't oversell just how supposedly team friendly that is.

(01:07:12):
Like there's a difference between aspects of it being team
friendly and it being completely team friendly. That's just a
chunk of change, like the biggest contract in sports history.
So to make it sound like it's not gonna have
this mammoth impact on the roster is crazy to me.
Of course it will. It's gonna have a huge impact.

(01:07:33):
That's why I say I don't think he has any
chance to go down as having the better career than
Tom Brady. I don't think that's gonna happen. Ask yourself this,
If Tom Brady played this past decade on a Mahomes
type contract, of course it would change a little bit
based on you know, it wouldn't be the same dollar

(01:07:54):
amount because the money keeps going up, but whatever the
exact equivalent would be. Let's say Brady play on the
same equivalent deal the past ten years. Do you think
he has six rings right now? I don't. I don't.
So it's not a knock on Mahomes his talent. It's
more just using common sense. When you are designating that

(01:08:17):
much money of your salary cap to a stud again
number one quarterback in the league, that restricts what you
can do around him, and that to me, does not
equal six rings. When it's all said and done, so
there might be some that say, hey, he was the
better quarterback then Mahomes. There's no way you can say
he had the better career than Tom Brady. They might

(01:08:38):
say Mahomes was the better QB than Brady. I think
I misspoke. They're not gonna say he had the better career.
I think that's he that it's incapable, incapable of happening.
By the way, on a lighter note, Eddie Garcia mentioned
that Notre Dame in Wisconsin, they're not going to be
playing their game at lambeau Field. It's a freaking brutal man.

(01:09:01):
I'm from South Bend, Indiana, and I bleed Irish football
over here, so that sucks. COVID is horrible. I hate it.
But here's my question. This sounds like one of my sophomoric,
you know, goofy questions. It's an actual question. If they're
playing NFL games at Lambo, do they still do the
Lambo leap? If there are no fans in attendance, right,

(01:09:24):
do you just jump on the top railing to keep
tradition alive. I think they do. I think that would happen.
Now I agree with you. You're with me on that, Yeah, yeah,
I think so too. How about this? You see this
From time to time opposing teams they'll sometimes do a
mini lambo leap. Would you see opposing players doing it

(01:09:47):
with no fans, just to short, sort of mock the tradition,
just jump on that top railing. I could see some
players doing that. Yeah, certain players might do that. Yeah, yeah,
I kind of troll the whole thing. Yeah, no one's
thrown a beer at you at that stage, right, But yeah,
I agree the Lambeau leap lives on. I just I'm

(01:10:10):
so curious to see what this football season looks like.
I'm on record saying I don't think there's gonna be
a college football season in the fall. I don't know
if the NFL can just power through a global pandemic.
I think that here's what you're gonna get. I think
you're gonna get college football as a whole, punting on
fall football and reassessing, like the IVY League January first,

(01:10:34):
trying to make a go of it and buy some
time for hopefully a vaccine. I just don't think it's
practical right now, and I think the NFL they're gonna
delay the season. Maybe not as much, but I think
they've got to delay it. I just don't see how
you could say, no, it's gonna work out. They're gonna
get it in. I don't see how what's your argument
as to that happening? I just don't see a good

(01:10:56):
one there? All right, plenty more to get to. I
gotta get to this coming up next. From the Guy
Co Studio, a smart guy says something stupid. I'm Brian

Nli from the Guy Cope, Fox Sports Radio Studios. In
for Ben Maller, I almost said, Jonas Knox, it's Brian No.

(01:11:41):
This is becoming a trend with you. You introduced me
as Ben Maller last time, Eddie, you know, so that
was unstandable. Yeah, let out at Jay Knox. You know
it's totally fine. I caught a tweet, now, what was
this about you nicknaming a Hawaiian hockey team if you
owned one? Was that Jonas was filling in for Ben

(01:12:03):
last night and he was talking about what the nickname
of the Washington Redskins should be, and he said that
if Dan Snyder really wanted to have the last laugh,
he would he would name them the Washington Snyders. And
I thought that was absurd until then I remembered it
was reminded by by some people are instant on the

(01:12:23):
on Twitter that that's exactly what the Cleveland Browns are.
They're named after Paul Brown, who created the team. And
the same thing with the Bobcats more recently, that was
up yeah, yeah then Bob So then Jonas said that
there should be a Hawaiian hockey team named the Honolulu
Garcia's all right, I dig it. I'd support that team.

(01:12:49):
I'd support that if you ever, you know, you would
be our number one fan. Yeah, oh dude, I would
be all about it. You kidding me. I'd move over
to Hawaii just to support that franchise, like the Hawaiian Mexicans. Better. Well,
hey man, it's a it's a mad dash. Who can
scrape up more funds, you Roberto or Eddie Garcia, and

(01:13:11):
then you can make these uh make that franchise happen
there in the NHL. Okay, So I gotta get to
this is a smart guy saying something stupid. I think
JJ Reddick is a smart dude. Okay, been in the
NBA for a long time. Member of the New Orleans Pelicans.
I call him the New Orleans Zions now. But anyway,
he was talking to Taylor Rooks. He's doing an interview.

(01:13:35):
Taylor Rooks does great work. I see some of these
interviews on Bleacher Report, and so JJ Reddick did a
recent interview with Taylor Rooks. And now he's talking about
when Kevin Durance came to an agreement with the Golden
State Warriors twenty sixteen free agency, the reaction to that,

(01:13:59):
how negative it was. And he was also talking about
the negative reaction when Lebron James as a free agent
chose the Miami Heat. So he's using both of these
stories and he's got a theory. Listen to his theory,
check it out. I really believe this an underlying reason

(01:14:20):
for the sort of the reaction to Kevin and Lebron
making those decisions is because people were uncomfortable with powerful
black men making a decision for themselves. I really believe that.
And now that goes back to systemic racism in our society. Okay, listen,

(01:14:45):
it's a stupid theory, and I'll tell you why, because
let's use Kevin Durant to begin with. Okay, one of
the more outspoken media members against that decision by Katie
to join a seventy re win team that had already
won a championship with stephen A. Smith. Remember stephen A

(01:15:06):
saying this is a week move. You're joining the team
that beat you on and on. Do you think that
Stephen A is a racist deck? Do you think that
it was born like that negativity was born out of
racist views and racist feelings? Of course not. And a
better example would be this. Compare the reaction of those

(01:15:29):
two guys when Kad joined the Warriors Lebron joined the
Miami Heat. Compare the reaction to the next dip into
free agency. Think about Kad when he joined the Brooklyn Nets.
Was it much different? Did you get the same type
of venom and criticism? And oh, this guy Kevin Durant

(01:15:52):
as a free agent, just going wherever he wants to go. No,
of course not. What about Lebron rejoin the Cavs after
playing for the Miami Heat for those four years? Was
it just negative the clause were out? How dare this
guy go back to Cleveland? No, of course not. So

(01:16:13):
what does that tell you? The negativity when Lebron went
to Miami, when Kad went to Golden State was all
about them creating super teams. It wasn't about these powerful
black men making decisions for their for themselves. And the
negativity is born out of racism. It's a complete and

(01:16:36):
uttered joke. Makes no sense. If it were about black
men changing things up and doing what they want and
power moves, we would have been ticked off about Lebron
going back to Cleveland or Kadi going to Brooklyn. It
was just about the specific super teams that they created.

(01:16:57):
That's what it was. It wasn't racism, and that's the
problem when real racism exists. I don't want there to
be a shrug of the shoulders like here we go again,
But it's when the race card is misapplied, like this
with JJ Reddick, where sometimes that's the reaction. All right,
coming up next to the Geico Studios, we get to
the stupidity power rankings. We'll have some fun with that.

(01:17:20):
Be sure to catch live editions of the Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific. Oh,
what's going on? Hope you're enjoying your Friday morning. Brian

(01:17:44):
now and then, I think about just mimicking what Ben
says at the top of each hour, you know, or
at least at the beginning of the show where he
talks about you know, we're live from the Geico Fox
Sports Radio Studios emanating. But I'm like, I don't want
to rip off his material, you know, I think about
these things. Militia. Try to make you guys comfortable over here. Okay,

(01:18:06):
So I'm gonna get to the phones here momentarily. Give
me a few minutes. Brown and Damon want to check
in on a variety of topics here. I've been talking
about my homes, JJ Reddick, plethora of things. I want
to lay out the stupidity power rankings here before I
get to the calls. So just hang with me for
a few minutes and I'll get back to them. So

(01:18:26):
I was thinking about this stupidity. There's a lot of
stupidity in the sports world right now. I mean a lot.
And the funny thing about stupidity, at least for me,
and I think a lot of people are along the
same lines. They can relate to this stupidity. Either is
hilarious to me. Either I find it really funny or

(01:18:50):
it's maddening, and it seems to be one extreme or
the other. If I see something on Jeopardy, maybe there's
a clip that's on media and someone is just so
painfully wrong about something, especially when it's something that you know,
I always laugh. I'm like, I don't get upset about that.

(01:19:12):
It isn't maddening to me. If Alex Trebek is like,
I don't know the leading scorer in NBA history known
for the skyhook, and someone buzzes in and they're like,
who is Babe Ruth, I find it hilarious. There are
other things that go the opposite way and it's maddening.

(01:19:35):
So it's a weird thing with stupidity. But with my
list here, it's a mixture of what I just explain.
There are some things that I find to be hilarious
and some things I find to be maddening. But all
of these things have one thing in common. They're stupid,
and so I have these stupidity power rankings. So at

(01:19:57):
number five, checking in strongly, JJ Reddick. I'm not gonna
go knee deep into this because I just talked about it.
JJ Reddick was a guest with Taylor Rooks. He said,
you know the reaction that was so negative when Lebron
went to Miami, when k D chose the Warriors in
free agency, I think it's tied to race. And it's like, no, Jj,

(01:20:20):
it isn't. It's not Otherwise we would ben ticked off
with Lebron as a free agent going back to Cleveland
or KD going to Brooklyn. It's not about black men
making decisions for themselves. People are ticked off that they
created super teams. That's all it really boiled down to.
It's not about race. It was about super teams. Stephen A.

(01:20:42):
Smith was outspoken about k D joining the Warriors. I
don't think he's a racist. So that is coming in
strongly at number five in the stupidity Power rankings. At
number four we have the NFL. The NFL checks in
with a strong showing at number four. They are banned
jersey swaps. That's right, no jersey swaps in twenty twenty.

(01:21:06):
Can't do it because of COVID concerns, and so they've
just been getting roasted on Twitter and social media. There
are players that are like um, like Darius Slay is saying,
so we can tackle each other for sixty minutes, but
can't exchange jerseys. That takes two minutes. It doesn't make

(01:21:27):
any sense. The Shawn Watson Texans quarterback says, that's damn silly, bro,
and he used caps for damn silly. It really brought
it home. And the forehead's forehead slap emoji that that's
top shelf right there. So they've been getting crushed and rightfully,
so it's a silly move. Like it makes no sense
to say, you know what, got a socially distance after

(01:21:50):
the game. No jersey swaps, but go ahead, sweat on
each other, breathe on each other, tackle each other for
the whole game, but you know, we gotta draw the
line in the post game festivities over here. The NFLPA,
by the way, this is also stupid. They were okay
with the jersey swaps just as long as the players
were six feet apart from each other, which that's just

(01:22:14):
a goofy looking picture right there. So I'm gonna put
the NFL the NFLPA together number four in the Stupidity
Power Rankings banning jersey swaps in twenty twenty. Now, I
will say, it's really easy to criticize some of these moves,
the safety precautions, but I would ask everybody, what are

(01:22:34):
your measures? What are things let's just stick with football.
What are some things that the NFL should be putting
in place that will keep players safer and less likely
to contract COVID? What is it? If you start trying
to come up with solutions yourself, you'll find out that
there aren't that many. There aren't, but still still a

(01:22:55):
stupid suggestion, stupid rule by the NFL banning jersey swaps.
Number four on the Stupidity Power Rankings. Okay, number three,
we get to Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh is just lying
to himself at this stage, Listen to what he says
in terms of sports and the impact that the sports

(01:23:17):
world has on the spread of COVID. Here you go,
COVID is part of our society. Wasn't caused by football,
are caused by by sports. There's no expert view right
now that I I'm aware of, or that are you know,
agreeing expert views that you know sports. You know it's
going He's going to make that worse. It's part of

(01:23:38):
our society. We're going to have to have to deal
with it. Okay, I'll give him the one where it
didn't originate with sports. Okay, fine, But to say I
haven't heard any experts say that sports are gonna help
spread this virus. So you know, shrug your shoulders and
let's move on. Let's tee it up over here. Like

(01:24:00):
on man, Let's just look at what's happened in the
sports world. Look at all of these players that have
caught COVID. Look Donovan Mitchell with the Utah Jazz. Remember
when Rudy Gobert was touching all the microphones. And it's
very possible that Donovan Mitchell, although we don't know for sure,
I've got a sneaking suspicion that being teammates of Rudy

(01:24:20):
Gobert might have had something to do with him testing
positive for COVID also and years ago, team by a team.
Look at what thirty seven players over there at Clemson
and the list just goes on and on and on.
Don't you think that has something to do with players
being around each other? Of course it does. What about

(01:24:41):
those players going to the grocery store or going anywhere
else and being around people and it may be spreading
that way, So spare me on this. There's no experts
that are talking about the spread of the virus here
because of the sports world. That's just that's just stupid.
So check s number three very strongly, Jim Harbaugh on

(01:25:02):
the stupidity power rankings. And now we get to the
heavy hitters over here, we get to the big guns
the stupidity power rankings. I'm gonna put Stephen Jackson number two.
He initially said that DeShawn Jackson was speaking the truth
when he put out a fake quote of Hitler. So
Stephen Jackson, former NBA players said right on, he's right

(01:25:24):
speaking the truth over here, and then he also he
doubled down. It's a little bit more from Stephen Jackson
very recently, again not backing off of his stance of
DeShawn Jackson being initially right. Here's Steve. You know where
the Rothchilds are. They controlled all the banks, they own
all the banks. They don't know all the banks. They
on a lot of banks. But the Rothchilds aren't sent

(01:25:45):
The Rothchilds aren't reflective of the entire Jewish community. I'm
not no, no no, no, no no, I'm not saying that. But
that's correlated to money though. Okay, all right, so they
own all the banks. Again, that's wrong, that's not true
at all. But Stephen Jackson was on CNN. He said
that he could have worded things a little bit better,

(01:26:07):
which is a very weak apology. He needed to be accurate,
so I would go number two. Now, make no mistake,
I'm not saying JJ Reddick is stupid, or Jim Harbaugh
is stupid, or or Stephen Jackson is stupid, not in totality.
But smart people can say stupid things, and I think
all three of those have said stupid things. Now we
get to the number one guy on the top of

(01:26:29):
the list the stupidity power rankings, DeShawn Jackson the initial
post on Instagram, fake Hitler quote about white Jews blackmailing America,
extorting America and their plan for world domination, and then
it's a clunky apology over here. This is the worst

(01:26:50):
way to apologize is there's a brief portion here from
DeShawn Jackson. This was his apology on Instagram. I definitely
did immediate right, Okay, So this is the worst way
to apologize. If someone takes offense to something you say,
and let's say it's really on a line. Let's say

(01:27:11):
you say to your your girlfriend, your wife, like, man,
you look really overweight today, Like if that was your statement,
and she gets upset and she's like, that makes me
feel horrible. If you're like, you know, I hate that
you took it that way, but I really didn't mean
anything by it. That's not an apology. That is a

(01:27:32):
horrible way to apologize, especially if you were completely in
the wrong. So I have Deshaun Jackson at the top
of the list, and also his apology to Eagles Management
a portion of it. My intention was to uplift, unite,
and encourage our culture with positivity and light. I unintentionally

(01:27:55):
hurt the Jewish community in the process, and for that
I am sorry this idea of uplifting thing, uniting and
encouraging by posting fake Hitler quotes about white Jews extorting
America and their plan for world domination. Okay, I got you.
I got to Sean at the top of the Power
rankings right now. Just like college football ranking subject to change.

(01:28:17):
We go week by week. Maybe maybe there's a big
upset in the big ten right thanks can change, but
that's the list as of right now. There you go. Okay,
we got time to sneak in a call as promised.
Let me go to Damon while we're talking about this subject.
JJ Reddick was one of the guys on the Stupidity
Power Rankings checking in at five. Damon's over there in

(01:28:38):
New York. What's going on, Damon? How you doing this evening?
I'm doing fine. We're tired of fifty five and just
enjoying life. To be honest with you, accept for the
fact that he can't do much. But let me say this, Um,
you know you're calling JJ Reddick stupid or make well,
actually you're saying that he made a stupid statement. I
think the first we made a stupid statement is actually
you and I hate I'm not trying to be disrespectful,

(01:29:00):
this is your show, but um, you know, you know
you got to call a state of stade. First of all,
just because Stephen A. Smith says something as an African
American and I'm black, so you're not. Um the fact
that the fact that Steven A. Smith said something, Stephen A.
Smith has been taken on the carpet many a time
by the black community because he's a black guy who

(01:29:22):
works for ESPN, who who is usually when he's debating
with what's his name, um for Max Kellerman always takes
a side that is going to be you know, inflammatory
to the black side, and the actually the person who
argues for the black would be Max Kellerman. And in fact,
so much so that there's been many instances on his

(01:29:43):
show that the black community has called him a uncle Tom,
which is the worst thing that you know, black don't
want to be called. And even to take that even further. Okay,
so just because a black man says it, he's saying
that because ESPN's paint I'm ten million dollars, which is
probably the highest paid sports personality I guess in broadcasting

(01:30:03):
right now, sports broadcasting at least okay, but let me
ask you, Damon, do you do you think that do
you think that stephen A. Smith is a racist? It's
not no, no, he's not a racist per se, because
first of all, people in the black community they don't
think that black people are racists. They think that black
people are prejudiced. They think that racism comes from systematic control.

(01:30:23):
So before that, that's the difference number one, no problem.
But they think good, good, right right, Yeah, I'm not
I'm yeah, I'm not trying to speak over you, Damon,
but let me just ask you the reason I brought
up stephen A. Okay, we could get into, you know,
nineteen different conversations. But when JJ Reddick says the reaction

(01:30:43):
to um k D going to the Warriors and how
negative it was, he's saying it was because of racism,
And I just pointed to stephen A because he was
very outspoken about k D going to the Warriors, and
I'm like, stephen A. Smith is not a racist. He
wasn't outspoken because KD is black and going to the Warriors.

(01:31:04):
It's because of what he said. He thought it was
a weak move. So the idea of it being racist
just doesn't make any sense to me. That's the only
reason I brought up stephen A. But the other examples were,
we didn't have a problem with KD going to Brooklyn.
He's still the same black player that made a decision
based on free agency. So I don't understand why him
going to the Warriors, Oh racist reaction him going to

(01:31:28):
the Brooklyn Nets or nothing to do with race. That
doesn't make any sense to me. Damon, what do you
think about that? A lot of people in sports, a
lot of people in general, think that it was a
slaughter team. So therefore you're you're palling on, so to speak.
And once again, it does stem from the fact that
what what JJ Reddick was saying in that interview is
that when you when black people decide to take their

(01:31:50):
their their fate into their own hand, society has not
typically been ready for that. And that's where you get
all because even most of the time, when you look
at athletes and things that they do, when predominantly athletes
that are black, two things, it's a big deal. Like
I'll give you a great example. Um, like now here
in New York this what's the guy's name, who's uh Cohens,

(01:32:11):
who basically uh now is gonna own the Mets, and
everybody's all. All the Met fans in the universe are
so happy that, Okay, this man that's so rich, you know,
one of the richest men in the country is gonna
own the Met. So therefore the fact that this man
have played one billion dollars to stay his butt out
of jail, out of syncing. Character is always an issue

(01:32:32):
when it comes to these players. It's it's it's come.
It's an issue right now with with the kid from
the Pelicans, uh Nyon and his father took some money.
This is something that always comes up as far as
black athletes concerned. But yet a white man does something
um really just just just just uh, I don't know
what's the word for. It is not reckless, it's just

(01:32:54):
it's a reasonal way out, a reason mentality. But yet
now everybody's all behind him, you know, because because because
the Met thieves are gonna have a little money and flexibility.
So so now all of a sudden, that doesn't matter
even if you now and then on your station you
got Rob Parker who's black, and you got the other guy,
uh Bussarden's black. Who who who? The mindset that somehow

(01:33:17):
a championship is not as important. And he's a black
men black men, Okay, So I don't want to ever
hear you say or because a black person says something.
I'm fifty five years old. I've watched the media in
my entire life. I did my job thirty something years
and now I get to stay home and make a
six figure income for the rest of my life. So
I know a little bit about the world, Okay. But

(01:33:39):
my point is about those two black men. They think
that because Kevin Garnett and they had a big four
in Boston, so because the general manager put it together,
the championship is more important than because Lebron. Okay, do
you put together? That's ridiculous. But here's the thing. Here's
the thing, Damon, when we go back to when it's

(01:34:01):
k D and Lebron those free agency moves, that's about
creating super teams. That's what the reaction was. It comes
back to that's the way a lot of people looked
at it. Hey, Magic didn't leave his team, Larry Bird
didn't leave his team, Michael Jordan didn't leave his team.
So when Lebron went and joined a super team, that's
what people had a problem. With. It wasn't because he

(01:34:22):
was black and made a decision on his own and
these views were born in racism. That's not why he
was called out like that. That's all it is. Now
to your point, there are ways, there are many examples
of racism, all right, but this is not one of them.
That's all I'm saying. The reaction and it was very
loud and very negative of KD going to the Warriors.

(01:34:44):
It wasn't because of racism, like That's just not the
reality here. It's just they thought it was a week
move him creating a super team and joining a seventy
three win team. It's as simple as that. That's all
it was. But I appreciate you calling in. Man, we
gotta runway. Had a good discussion there. We went for
a little bit, but you know, I want you to
be able to speak your mind. All right, we'll get

(01:35:04):
back to the phoness here. Some other people want to
check in, feel free to do so. Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox is the phone number eight seven
seven nine nine six six three six nine. You can
always hit me on Twitter. Also at the No Show.
N Oe Show is where you can reach me. So
you know, if you have something to get off your chest,
you want to speak your piece, you can always reach

(01:35:25):
me there and we can have a discussion. No problem
about that. Okay, let me get to this. I'm gonna
get some tweets as well, and a very interesting signing
in the NBA. It shows something that I think it's
pretty funny. I'll show that with you coming up. I'm
Brian Noen for Big Ben. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller

(01:35:47):
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app. It's Mallard
twenty twenty and you can be heard in the Democracy
or the Ben Maller Show. We encourage and welcome the
voice of the people. Oh that would be you following
the voice of this show on Twitter. In for Ben Mallory,
It's Brian no He is at the No Show and

(01:36:07):
Oe and you can tweet at and follow our technical producer.
He plays all the music and most funny sound bites
in the Ben Mallor Show. His first name is roberts Oh.
His last name is Florez. He's at Raider Underscore. Rob
twenty four my doubler don't work, and I lie from
the Geico Fox Sports radio studios in for Ben Maller.
It's Brian No. By the way, you see this, Eddie Garcia.
The Nets they had signed Jamal Crawford, which makes sense.

(01:36:31):
They're losing guys left and right. They also signed Michael
Beasley and be interesting. Yeah, how about this. Beasley has
to serve a five game suspension because of a prior
violation of the drug policy. They're only playing eight games, Eddie,
So it shows you how how desperate the Nets are

(01:36:53):
right now, right, only eight games unless they make the playoffs, right, Well,
that's true, Yeah, that's true, and they right now are
a seventh seed. I guess the Wizards could potentially take
it from them. But yeah, you're right, So okay, we'd
have a maximum of they probably get swept, right, so
we'd have a max of, say, well most likely around

(01:37:15):
twelve games total, so he would miss five of those
twelve games. I just think, you know, having Beasley in uniform,
who's been a street free agent for a while, when
he's serving a five game suspension, I just thought that
was funny and I hate that there anyone else out
there they could have signed, I would think right, like,

(01:37:36):
think of the percentage if they don't make the playoffs,
he's missing over fifty percent of the games. If they
make the playoffs, depending on how long that first round
series goes, he's still missing a heavy percentage of those games.
And man, when you've think about all the guys that
the Nets have missed have lost. Of course they were

(01:37:57):
gonna lose KD and Kyrie, we knew that. But since
then it's been Spencer Dinwoodie and Torrian Prince and Wilson
Chandler isn't going there and DeAndre Jordan. There's six dudes.
So they're signing street free agents, including a guy in
Michael Beasley who was suspended for five games. And if
they don't make the playoffs, they're only playing eight. There

(01:38:20):
must not be anybody else out there. Man, At this
point now, Michael Beasley is friends they go, he goes
way back with KD. So maybe this is they're thinking
about Michael Beasley being part of the team going forward.
How about this though, there's a rumor out there maybe
Greg Popovich will be the head coach of the Brooklyn
Nets going forward. Yeah, the theory is Sean Marks, who

(01:38:45):
played for Pop with the Spurs. He was an assistant
coach on Pop's staff as well. With the Spurs. He's
running the show over there in Brooklyn. So he didn't
dismiss this possibility. Who was asked about it and he
was like, he didn't shoot it down and say, oh no, no,
I'd love for that to happen or maybe, but he

(01:39:08):
was just he avoided any type of no, not looking
to do that type of conversation. That makes a lot
more sense. Don't you think Jack Vaughan might end up
being a good NBA coach? But with Kde and Kyrie Company, Yeah, right,
that team is a championship contender, And I think that

(01:39:30):
Pop makes a lot more sense than someone else that
doesn't have the hardware, the rings that he brings to
the table. So I'm just saying throwing it out there,
it's a possibility maybe Pop going to the Brooklyn Nets
at some stage. All right, before we hear from meddie Garcia,
let's get a phone call in here. Let me get
to Kirk in Wisconsin. I was talking about Lambeau just

(01:39:51):
a little bit ago. What's going on, Kirk? What's on
your mind? Yeah, Terriff, I tell you doing, Brian, No,
I was good to call you Ben malor to be annoying,
whause golden ticket look not mine. You can't just let
something go, especially before you reveal the answers to a
stupidity talk. You can't say that Notre Dame is gonna

(01:40:12):
come over to Lambeau and beat the Badgers. Well I
never did say that. I would. I would tell you
that they were. They were going to smack around the
Badgers for sure, but I never did say that. Okay, okay,
I'm sorry to mess quote you. I know you're just
the guest tolls and never call. I've definitely never gotten through.

(01:40:33):
I've never waited this long on the hold. Now, are
you a Wisconsin fan? Punt? I don't want to wreck
the show. Oh you're good, Kirk. Are you a Wisconsin fan?
It sounds like you're a Badgers fan over there, of
course I am. Okay, Okay, we're gonna have to come
up with a friendly bet whenever Notre Dame and Wisconsin
finally do play again. Okay, Well, I mean I do

(01:40:53):
have a gambling problem, so I'll take that bet. No, perfect,
you dude. First off, we're going to be best friends.
I can tell already, Kirk, So what are we talking
how many? I don't know about that? Man, you're not playing. Okay,
that's a great way to you know, butter me up.
It's just talk trash openly to my face. That works

(01:41:15):
every time. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. What's your bet? Okay?
Let me ask you. So, if you're this degenerate gambler
and you're that strongly in the mindset of that Wisconsin's
gonna win, how much are you willing to put on
the line here potentially? Well, I mean I don't I
don't know what's legal there and what's legal here. We're
just throwing out figures. You know, we haven't even come

(01:41:37):
to an agreement here. So what's a figure that you
would you would throw out comfortable gentleman's bet nowadays. Yeah,
but we're not trying to be gentlemen over here. We're
trying to get rich, right, And if you're really backing that,
you probably can't even give away on cod Yeah, I

(01:41:59):
don't know, I have to. I'll have to check the
back channel sources on that. Rogers Rookie, Kurt, Okay, Well,
we can figure it out. The unfortunate thing here, Kirk
is we we have a lot of time to work
this out because I don't think we're going to see
college football in the fall. Unfortunately, we do know for
sure we're not going to see Notre Dame in Wisconsin

(01:42:20):
at lambeau Field won't be at that. Yeah, that's horrible.
You broke the news to me, Brian. No, I haven't
heard that yet, Kirk. Let's uh, let's reconvene and we
will come up with the exact um terms of this
bet Notre Dame versus Wisconsin. We will do that here

(01:42:41):
in the in the near future. How about that Eddie Garcia.
Did you hear him say how how much of a
lesser host I am than Big Bend. Yeah, he came
right out and said it. You know, it's okay. I
got thick skin. The Mallar militia is toughening me up here.
How long was that guy on hold for? By the way,
do you know? I don't I'd say about like thirty minutes. Well, sir,

(01:43:06):
that's nothing compared to how long Ben keeps people on hold.
So as far as that goes, you should be happy
that Brian is hosting tonight. There you go. Yeah, see,
thank you, am I right on that coup. Doesn't he hold?
He lets people be on hold for hours? Right? Oh? Yeah,
like the whole show. Be sure to catch live editions
of The Ben Maller Show weekdays at two am Eastern

(01:43:26):
eleven pm Pacific. Zion Williamson's name came up a couple
of moments ago. Did you see that? Well, if you
haven't been following it, He's being sued by a marketing
agent who claims that, you know, they had an agreement
with him and then he left to go sign with CAA.
So they are seeking one hundred million dollars in damages.

(01:43:47):
And as part of the ongoing litigation, there was an
Affid David coming out that alleges that Zion Williams's stepdad
took four hundred thousand dollars in a payment from this
agency before Zion went to play at Duke and that
would make him an ineligible player. Williams's legal team says

(01:44:08):
the claims of fraud and are basically they're denying it.
They're denying the claims his stepfather took this money which
would have made Zion ineligible to play at at Duke,
which I don't know about you, Eddie, but it's shocking
to hear of any athlete or you know, a guardian
being connected to the athlete taking any money whatsoever. I

(01:44:30):
thought this thing ever happen. No, No, that that hasn't happened.
H yeah, Ever I don't think. No, I don't believe
any details of things very rare, very rare that ever
goes on. You know, I will say this, Eddie, when
the name image and Likeness bill goes into play, and
I think you're going to see less of this, and

(01:44:50):
I think a lot of people freak out about oh
what's the downside of name, image and likeness and players
actually believe it or not being able to make a
buck themselves. I think you're going to see a lot
less of these stories. Don't you think it'll just be
the trickle down effect though, Like the players that can
get the money for their likeness and all that, Oh yeah,

(01:45:11):
they'll get the money. But then the next level of
players they'll be the ones getting you know, money under
the table, because could be they're the ones that need
to get taken care of now. Could be. But you
could just do it legally, you know, why do it
illegally if you can do it legally, If it's one
of these you want this lesser player. Well, hey, you

(01:45:31):
know I'm gonna pay you thousands of dollars for whatever
you autographed a T shirt and we get you to
school that way. You know, if it's legal, I don't
know why you would have to to just do it
under the table and risk anything in terms of a punishment.
I just look at it where it's a way too.
And let's be honest, fans don't care about this stuff anyway.

(01:45:53):
They look at it for the most part and say,
these kids should be making a buck. This is just
NC double a bs. It's some garbage here, and most
of us we don't look at this like dukes cheating
the system. We shrug our shoulders and like, yeah, they're
going sixty in a fifty five mile per hour zone
on the highway. Most people are like, who cares. So

(01:46:14):
I think it would do a lot of good, not
just bad with name image and likeness. Like think about
this with Reggie Bush. If the name image likeness thing
was in place when Reggie Bush was in school, I
don't think that he's taking these quote unquote improper benefits.
I think he's making cash legally because of his own likeness,

(01:46:34):
and he's not you know, he doesn't have a heisman revoked.
He isn't banished from the program for a decade. USC
isn't hit with major sanctions. I think there are a
lot of positives with nil, not just drawbacks, is my
take on it. But I could go on and on
for days. Let me go to the phones here as promised,
We've got Brown. He's in Boston, has a thought on mahomes.

(01:46:58):
How are you doing this evening? How you doing Brian?
Last tough? Last call is a little bit tough. But
I'll start with the biggest hity is screaming a I'll
just say very quickly, like dad, two three weeks ago,
I usually watched Skip and Shannon and then I'm flipped
over to him and I heard out of his mouth
because all this all this craps going on in the country.

(01:47:22):
You know, Tiger Woods isn't really a brother, you know,
like Stephen A was an original member of NWA nWo
or whatever. But he's like, he's not really a brother.
He's got biracial parents, so he doesn't really know what
African Americans are going through. You know. That's how you
know he makes a lot of money from talking a

(01:47:43):
lot louder than other people. I gotta give him props
for that. But then you were talking about Kevin Durant.
I remember the Celtics had our reception committee with Danny Ainge,
Tom Brady, Isaiah Thomas, a couple other Celtics and Kelly
Olina and up here in Boston when we're scratching their heads,
calling why is Kelly Olenick there? It's like just who

(01:48:06):
you want to play with? You know, But uh, what
what's this on? Mahomes? I thought you had a Mahomes takeover? Yeah,
I had a Mahomes thing like you said, you know,
like the screaming a station. You know, once they latch
onto a certain player like uh Lebron or Mahomes, it's
like they really do a lot of butt washing or
what a buck kissing I should say, but I like

(01:48:31):
that term better. Okay, well, you know, I don't want
to get chopped off the radio by saying the wrong thing.
But you know, so the latching on that he's won
one super Bowl, like you said, he was seventy five
percent in the Super Bowl, Jimmy g had a ten
point lead and he spit the bit. But you know,
the kid's gonna be a great quarterback, the greatest ever.

(01:48:53):
Like some people have annoyed it. That's like you say,
they're paying him a lot of money. And the trick
is Tom Brady used to take less so that they
could sign a player, defensive player. And you know how
many people are going to leave the building when they
win two Super Balls and then they're gonna get off.
It's a lot of money. So I can't take how

(01:49:13):
good he is, you know, playing and everything, but you know,
you got to hould the horses a little bit. Like
you said, they got, you know, a lot of the
tough quarterbacks, the kid from Baltimore, and you know they
come through. So what do you what do you think
about that? Yeah, man, I hear you. I appreciate you
checking in. It's one of those deals where, man, when
Mahomes makes that much money, it restricts what you have

(01:49:35):
around him in terms of talent. Like they could afford
to keep Chris Jones for right now, he's on the
franchise deal and they have less than a week to
come up with the long term extension. They could keep
a guy like Chris Jones for the next couple of
years before that extension of mahomes kicks in the next
two years are relatively cheap. But a guy like Chris Jones,
you gotta go away going forward. When the Mahomes megged

(01:49:58):
deal kicks in, you just hannaford to surround him with
as much talent as he's currently surrounded by. And I
don't think that nullifies their chances to win a super Bowl,
but it hurts their chances severely to win many super Bowls.
He's never gonna win six super Bowls like Tom Brady.
That's not happening. The dude's making way too much money

(01:50:18):
two years from now for that to be the case.
So yeah, he's not gonna have as much jewelry as
Tom Brady's. That's a pipe dream now. Because of the
contract extension. That is mega mega mega money, the richest
contract in sports history. It matters. Okay. Coming up next,
I'll get to some tweets some people were checking in.

(01:50:39):
We'll get to a top of the hour. The contract
details pretty interesting. I want to pay attention to this
current quarterback, and when you get into the points of
what he might be making, there are a couple of
things that are not gonna be reachable I'll get to that.
I'm probably no in for Big Ben. This is Fox
Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk

(01:51:02):
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Fox sports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app
search f SR to listen live for the people. Let's
help bring new listeners to the Magic radio box as
we burn the midnight oil. If you'd like to help,
just post messages on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook about the
show and all other social media. Word of mouth advertising

(01:51:23):
is invaluable. And I lie from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio studios in brig Ben Maller. It's Brian No. You know,
I always love filling in for Big Ben Eddie because
you guys, the crew, you guys are all awesome. And
I just had this random thought. If I was writing
in Roberto's car while we're going to Chick fil A, right,
he just got Chick fil A for the first time.

(01:51:43):
He was like, no, you're in La, let's roll a
Chick fil A. What kind of music would you hear
in Roberto's car? Would it be like the Big Ben
Maller's show where it's very eclectic, or is there like
a go to genre? I don't know. I'm envisioning a
kiss the guess. I don't know this, but I think
I heard this. I think that Roberto is a very

(01:52:06):
big uh system of a down fan. So that's correct,
that's maybe that's where we're going. Hey, I can roll
with that. We'll throw on some sugar, go get some uh,
get some chicken nuggets at Chick fil A. No sauce, none,
don't need it, don't need it, get out good. I'll
take your word for it, but I don't even need

(01:52:28):
It's that's suckulent over there. Okay, So I promised to
tweet and I'll get to the calls. So I was
talking about the NFL. They're banning jersey swaps in twenty twenty,
which is stupid. Obviously there's no social distancing during the
game's feudal to have social distancing after the game. But anyway,

(01:52:48):
I throughout the question, it's easy to knock the NFL
for some of these quote unquote safety measures, But what
is your solution if you're looking for the this great
suggestion that's going to keep players safer, Like, what are
you going with? What's the solution? And Carlos checked in

(01:53:09):
at the No Show I thought this was a great tweet.
He said. The only thing the NFL can do to
stop the spread of COVID is catch the guys who
are positive from getting on the field once they kick
off the game. Everything else that is done, we're not done,
is irrelevant. If a player is positive and takes the field,
then it is too late. Yeah, that's sadly where we're at.

(01:53:30):
And that's why it's going to be a major challenge
for football to be played in the fall. I just
don't see the college football season happening in the fall.
We're inching toward less and less football in the fall.
Where the IVY League said, you know what, no fall football.
Will reassess come January, the Big Ten came out and

(01:53:51):
said only a conference schedule. The ACC is expected to
do the same thing. I think we're just slowly marching
toward we've got to delay the beginning of the college
football season because all these kids are testing positive. That's
before the games are being played. What do you think
it's gonna happen once the games are played. So as

(01:54:13):
much as I want football in the fall, I don't
see it happening in college I can see the NFL
with them paying millions of dollars to players, just trying
to bully their way through it. I don't think it's
gonna work. So unless things greatly change, I just I
think we're headed toward very very little football in the fall. Unfortunately,

(01:54:36):
hopefully I'm dead rung, absolutely dead rung. Let me get
to sir scratch off here once to check in on
the Ben Mallor Show. I'm Brian though in for Big Ben.
What's going on? Scratch Off? What's going on? Brothers? I'll
tell you what you're like, Clay. I used to kick
my radio and I'll drive all the parts twenty two
years all night and I listed twelve hours radio, four
hours four. Y'all come on this one and I almost

(01:54:58):
have been a play. But I see what after night man,
hearing you're on this show. These guys you're working with,
I know you know them, but Joe, it's not then.
I had a good show. I mean, I liked this,
everybody getting involved, you know. But you're talking about all
these restaurants and drive dudes, how people losing their food. Well, Houstherann.
I was in a truck stop and there were six

(01:55:18):
boys down there, sophomore all the way down to fourth grade.
These kids are at at one o'clock in the morning.
They're all black. Kids are up there trying to pay
for all this stuff they bought them. Told that lady,
I said, ma'am, I said, let me have all that.
Let me pay for all that. And then the kids
her being they're out there looking around, you know, trying
to find more stuff. I said, now, we're gonna pay
for what we got. Well, when I got done, we

(01:55:39):
end up paying fifty two dollars and all I had
was a cigar and a cup of coffee. But but man,
it keeps one in things, you know. I like looking
out for kids. I don't care what color they are.
I have fought everybody. You know. That's good. You did
a good thing there. Now, sir, scratch off. We're up
against it. We got the heart out, so only twenty
seconds here? What is your go to atch off? Right?

(01:56:01):
Because how much do you spend each week? And what's
the go to scratch off? Real quickly here, I gotta know.
I'm new expensive. I pay any work from four to
five hundred dollars. And if somebody calls me it wants
to bet on a game, I would even talk pill
one hundred dollars bill. It's gonna start at two fifty
because I lost seven hundred dollars when my Rams played Brady.
Hey man, Hey, we gotta run, sir, scratch off. But

(01:56:23):
thanks for checking in contract details. Next, be sure to
catch live editions of The Ben Maller Show weekdays at
two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific. Oh, what's going on everybody?
Hope you're enjoying your Friday morning. Okay, so we got
the contract details of one Cam Newton. I want to
dive into this. What is attainable in terms of his payday.

(01:56:47):
We are coming to you live from the Geico Fox
Sports Radio studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent
or more on car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for
a free rate quote. Okay, so let's not get too
crazy on this. We all know that there's a five
hundred and fifty thousand dollars guaranteed Cam Newton's contract with
the Patriots. So the base salary is just over a

(01:57:09):
million dollars, and so per game roster bonuses just under
forty four g's each week, so that money's gonna accumulate
playing time incentives. We get to three point seven five million. Okay,
so if he's on the roster weekly, if he's playing,

(01:57:31):
which many expect him to do, then yeah, he can
get to over four million dollars pretty comfortably. Now the
other bonuses here, we're gonna fall short of this seven
point five maximum overall value of the contract because there
is a five hundred thousand dollars bonus for getting to

(01:57:54):
the Pro Bowl. That's not happening this year for Cam Newton. Now,
this is all all based on an actual season being played,
which is completely up in the air. But let's just
say there are sixteen games played. Cam Newton is not
a Pro bowler, like a replacement player for the replacement
of the replacement of the other replacement of the initial replacement.

(01:58:15):
Yet maybe, but initially making it to the Pro Bowl.
Look at the AFC. Look at who he has to
compete with, Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Big Ben is Back, DeShawn Watson,
don't laugh. Ryan Tannehill led the AFC in passer rating
last year and also, don't laugh again. But I expect

(01:58:35):
and I'm not fond of this quarterback. Josh Allen with
the Bills, Josh Allen with the Bills is going to
have a better season than Cam Newton is. I don't
necessarily think that Josh Allen is the better quarterback. He
might be, Actually, in twenty twenty, Cam Newton's been banged up.
He's had a couple of shoulder surgeries. Foot operation twenty

(01:58:57):
fifteen was a long time ago from when he was
an MVP in the league. And you look at Josh Allen,
who just got Stefon Diggs. Who is the outside thread
of major consequence with the Patriots. Who's the guy they
don't have us to find dicks? So even though Josh
Allen leaves a lot to be desired, I just don't

(01:59:18):
see Cam Newton going to a new team abbreviated offseason
learning a new system. Has been banged up. It's gonna
have to change his style of play to a noticeable
degree without great outside weapons. That is not equaling a
Pro Bowl season. I don't think it even equals a
season better than Josh Allen, who's been completely mediocre with

(01:59:41):
the Bills. So Cam Newton's not gonna be a Pro bowler.
I don't see it. So that's a half million dollars
that he won't get. There's an All Pro bonus for
five hundred thousand dollars. Also, if he's not gonna be
a pro bowler, he's not gonna be an All pros
it's a more elite list. And then how about this,

(02:00:02):
there is a quarter million dollar bonus for Cam Newton
for a playoff win. I say he's not gonna get
that bonus either. I just don't see it from the Patriots.
I don't see them getting to the playoffs. Wouldn't be
shocked if I'm wrong, but I don't see them winning
a playoff game when you're facing a higher seated team.

(02:00:26):
I see the Patriots that they make the playoffs, they're
sneaking in. But to win a playoff game, I just
I just don't see the Patriots having that or getting
that done. So, if that's all correct, that's one point
two five million dollars. So Cam, let's just estimate it
makes in the ballpark about six ish million this year. Potentially,

(02:00:51):
if he's on the roster weekly and he's getting those
playing time incentives, I could see him making in the
neighborhood of six million dollars. Which, look, there's been a
lot said about how modest of a deal that is.
And it is. It's very, very modest. But I look
at it this way. Cam Newton is in a better
position than some lesser quarterbacks who are making more money.

(02:01:16):
And what I mean by that is this. You hear
the term bridge quarterback a lot. Take Ryan Fitzpatrick with
the Miami Dolphins, for instance. He's a bridge quarterback. He's
not the long term solution. He's just there for the
time being until Tunguaviloa takes over. I think bridge quarterback
can work in a different way as well. Cam Newton

(02:01:40):
is in a bridge position, meaning if he plays really
well in twenty twenty, he's bridging contracts. This is a
bridge season for Cam Newton, so he's not making much money,
but if he does play really well, he's going to
get paid again. He's gonna make that major money. So

(02:02:02):
this is a bridge season. It bridges his previous contract
with the Carolina Panthers, where he's making a lot more
money than he is right now, and that would link
to the twenty twenty one contract provided he plays well
this year. So when you compare it to a guy
like Marcus Mariota two years under eighteen million dollars, Cam

(02:02:24):
Newton is in a much better position to make more
money in the long run. He's got a better chance
to start, he's got a better chance to see the field,
and just like Tannehill last year, if Cam Newton ends
up playing well, he's gonna cash in like Ryan Tannehill did.
So we can compare it to Case Keenum or Marcus Mariota,

(02:02:46):
whoever you want to compare him too. But Cam Newton's
in a better position to cash in more going forward.
So it isn't just about twenty twenty. I would say this,
I think that Mariota would change positions right now with
Cam Newton all across the board, chance to start play
for the Patriots, Belichick, Josh McDaniels make the same contract.

(02:03:11):
I really do. I think Mariota would say, okay, Cam,
let's swap places. You make what i'm making with the
Radas I make what you're making with the Patriots, and
we're on each other's team. We're on two different teams now,
I really do. I think Mariota would switch spots with
Cam Newton all across the board. So if that's the case,

(02:03:31):
then I think we should look beyond just the twenty
twenty contract with Cam Newton. Make more sense in my mind.
I'm probably no in for Big Ben. Okay, let's get
out to the phones here. I love hearing from the militia.
It's been an eclectic ride here tonight, which is good.
I mean that in a complimentary way. We've got Steve

(02:03:51):
in Manhattan. Let's go to the Big Apple over here.
What's going on, Steve? How are you doing this evening? Steve? Steve,
you're there? Yeah, Hey, Brian, Yeah, listen guy. I mean,
you take calls pretty good, but I'm hope for like
an hour and a half, ye I can't get everybody

(02:04:13):
on at once. Steve. I'm sorry, man, man, you can.
You could do a little better than that. First of all,
it was it was me, Steve. I didn't put your
name up after you were like for the first thirty minute,
you're on hold, because well, I wanted to. I wanted
to get some good calls in first. Then we could
go to Steve and man, Steve, Steve, are you gonna

(02:04:34):
take that from coop? Dude? I have hosted hang up
on me when I clear my product. The only reason
why I'm on talk radio New York City is because
of the audience. They demand I get on. I've been
banned from every show there's guys, and I haven't been
they haven't been born yet. I'll be banned from this show.
But anyway, first of all, I like to x Doctor

(02:04:55):
Fauci if they're gonna have out door dining on the
New England Throwaway. I mean, do you see what they
put the tables? I mean, there's not much room in
Manhattan and stuff. You're basically sitting in the center lane,
and you know you can miss desert if the truck,
you know, bus makes the wrong turn. But first of all,
Reddick to me is the coward of the county. Forget
about that guy. He's listen. You're gonna see a lot

(02:05:15):
of Reddicks out there, you know. But the bottom line,
now what's going on is people are I think basically
you might meet people who are in intellectually smart, intelligent,
you even have intellectual geniuses out there, but on an
emotional level, they can't deal with what's going on today
outside in the street, at the workforce, in their own relationships,

(02:05:36):
and that is a big problem it's happening in the
country today. Do I have any follow up questions or anything? Yes, Actually, Steve,
what is what's the worst thing you've done to get
banned on the New York airwaves. You want me to
say flat out? First of all, I've been neglecting this audience.
I'm sorry, folks, been tied up with all the nonsense

(02:05:58):
I support. As you ready for it is, I supported
Patriot JB. Buchanan for president when I was a young guy.
I gave up a lot of my time. At one time,
I figured it out how much income I gave up
by doing that, and we turned out to be right. Now,
people say, well, why don't people out there ever say, oh,
pat was right? And I explained to him because I'll

(02:06:20):
put it this very mildly, low lives never admit that
they're wrong. It's really simple. Hey man, I hear you
on that, Steve. Okay, So here's the deal, Like, are
is there any animosity toward Coop who didn't even put
you on the you know, the instant messenger over here.
I didn't even know you're on hold? And Coop? Did

(02:06:42):
you hear his reason? I wanted to get some good calls? Right?
How is he going to do that to you? Steve?
He made it sound like he doesn't think you're in
the good call realm. You know what I mean. Listen.
First of all, Coop's a good dude. I listen, folks,
I speak to him all the air. They got to him.
I don't know who got to him. And he's doing it.

(02:07:02):
That's why he's doing it. D If you don't put
my name up on the screen, right, you know, just
raindom just betting it instead of taking calls. Why don't
you just call people? Hey, we could do that. You
know who would? Who would? Do you think I should call?
If we're doing that here? Chris R? Steve? Sorry about that?
Do you think I should reach out to? What do
you think? Get my sister on the air? What do

(02:07:24):
you think? Family members? Friends? What do you think? Do
you think you get the Grand Range on the air
this late and night? I know he tweets and stuff.
I don't know, man, it might be a rough pole,
you know, it might be a rough I'll see what
I can do, though, Steve, I appreciate you checking in, man.
It's good catching up with you. There he is, Steve.
See that. There's a number of colors that I dislike,
and it's not Steve's not one of them. I don't

(02:07:46):
dislike him. I just think his calls are terrible. Same
with Chris and Houston. That's funny because he's coming up here.
Why you say that, h coop, We're gonna get to
Chris here. Now, what would be you know, the power rankings.
Let's go top three of the Mallard militia where they
call and you're like, oh my gosh, you look at

(02:08:06):
the ceiling, like, h I gotta talk to this person.
Who are we looking at here? Real talk? I love
real talk. I look forward to real talk. Call the worst,
the worst calls, um man, I mean I already named

(02:08:27):
two of them. Huh so out of my top three, Uh,
Chris probably even above Stephen Manhattan. Wow, okay, so I
like I like Chris. I like Chris. I talked to
him off the air. He's a cool guy. It's called suck.
Oh man, Wow, I agree with those two as well.

(02:08:50):
Um the third one real talk and if no, it's
not real talk, and if I I hope that this
person is not listening or else I'm gonna have to deal.
Was so much drama, oh man, Rachel and Montabella, Oh really,

(02:09:11):
I hope she has her listening years on right now.
I absolutely do. And then it's another situation where look,
Rachel's she's a nice she's a nice woman, super nice.
But I mean she just what's the term that we
came up what's the term? But what's the term that
we came up with today? Butt? Wash? Yeah? But wash yeah.

(02:09:33):
She she's probably gotten framed photographs of Bend up in
her her house. I just go through my body, all right.
Coming up next from the Geico Studios, we'll hear from
one of the the bottom three or top three, depending
on how you look at it, Coop's power rankings of

(02:09:57):
callers he hates the most on the air. I mean
that's a back of a tease right there. I don't
know why you would go elsewhere. And we'll get to
some tweets as well. I'm Brian no In for Big Ben.
This is Fox Sports Radio. Hot Russian tennis player. She
wasn't any good, but she made a lot of money.

(02:10:40):
It's Brian No super random question for you, Eddie Garcia.
Are you a fan of Lincoln Park at all? Yeah?
I'm okay with them. Yeah, that's kind of how I feel, like,
all right, I want to go out and just like
jam out to them in my car or anything, but
it's there, Okay, they got some songs. I bring this
up because I saw something. It's called rock in mob Okay,

(02:11:02):
and how it works. There were two hundred and sixty
six musicians in thirty five countries and they all either
played an instrument or they sung a Lincoln Park song
in the end, and they put this together. It's like
a whole video featuring all these people from thirty five countries.

(02:11:23):
I thought it was really well done. So I just
randomly saw that today and I was like, that's actually
a pretty cool thing. So if people want to check
it out, go for it. But there were people, you know,
all over the world, Brazil, Russia. Some dude was playing
the accordion. There's a bunch of people on keyboards, there
are people singing there. Of course we're guitarists, the whole thing.
But I thought it was a cool thing. Pretty well,

(02:11:44):
try and check it out. Yeah, you might like it.
Eddie Garcia having the same sort of reaction as I
do about Lincoln Park, like yeah, all right, your voice
goes up in octave. When someone ask asks you if
you like Lincoln Park, You're like, yeah, yeah, they're okay,
Yeah they still around, because I know one of they're

(02:12:05):
with us. I don't know if there's still a band
or not. I don't I don't know if they could.
But here's the thing. I once saw Alison Chains and
this is after Lane Staley passed away. Yeah, but the
new guy sounds a lot like Lane. There's never gonna
be another Lane at all. That dude was had such

(02:12:26):
a unique voice. But the new guy is at least
in the ballpark. Ish. They've got some decent songs with
the new dude. So I think that Chester Bennington, I
think that's the dude's name. Man, that's a hard voice
to mimic um and if you don't find someone that's
in the ballpark, you got to pack it up. Man,

(02:12:46):
it's a rap. But if way back when, yeah, that's true.
Yeah it has happened before. But I don't know. I
don't know if they're still around or not. Not sure,
but rock and Mob, Yeah, that's what I checked out today. Randomly.
I stumbled onto it and I was like, that was
actually pretty well done. They did as well as they
could would think about this, six two hundred and sixty

(02:13:07):
six musicians. And I clicked on it and I'm like,
this is just gonna be noise, and they actually mixed
it pretty well. Not bad. Okay. We go to Chris
in Houston wants to check in here on the Big
Ben Mellor Show. I'm what's going on, Chris? How are you?
Have you heard the crew heckling you? What do you
think about this? Chris? Well, you know, I think the

(02:13:31):
coop is more. He's a more of a laker, like
a propagandist when it comes down to it, and you know,
he doesn't like real sports calls. He wanted the fight,
he wanted he wanted the tap dance. That's what he
wants to do. You know, but I like Coop, you know,
I mean, even though Jim Carrett had to drag him
through a liah liar. You know you think I like

(02:13:52):
tap dancing on the third rail. It stresses me out
so much when I have to argue with Ben on
the air. That's the greatest part about the Ben knowledge.
So we love a pitch you are, I know you
all love it, but it gives me anxiety. Oh, come on, man,
stop being a pansy. It's fun. It's good debate. Man

(02:14:13):
loved to play debate. Yeah, you know I and you
don't get nervous going toe to toe with Big Ben, right, Chris,
I hear that from be's a Loser's a loser man,
here's easily going jips him. His teams don't win nothing.
Do you have any pointers for Coop when he goes
toe to toe with Big Ben? Oh, I don't need
any pointers. I tell you. It's easy to hand a

(02:14:38):
bit being ruth for losing teams. So he just it's
a losing cause, you know, at the end of the day, Brian,
But I mean, I knew want to say I apologize
for that. Other caller and Carter told you wasn't black, Brian,
and you know, making the race thing. I'm black man,
and you know, I lived in texted all my life
and I've learned, you know, talking to my other to

(02:14:58):
my my buddy that's from Chicago. They teach a lot
of this, you know, this race war in schools. To
that kid, it's not the same that where I'm from,
where it's integrated, where we learned history. So I mean,
it's a lot that's just really just I'm just tired
of it. Can we just move on? You know? But

(02:15:20):
Steven Jackson and and and what's the other guy? The
other Jackson, all these Jacksons, the Signe Jackson. Ye, it's
just it's come to the point where it's like people
are starting to draw a line in the sand. And
it shouldn't be like that, but it's like that. And
it sucks because I'm like Coop, I'm more in the middle,

(02:15:43):
you know. I like to talk to both sides. I
have friends on both sides. I don't have a grudge
against anyone, you know, But this just it's just getting,
it's just getting. It's just getting crazy, man. I Mean,
we've got people attacking people over the most littlest things. Yeah,
well I look at like this, Chris. I just think
that there's so much real racism in the country. Unfortunately,

(02:16:06):
we can't create fake racism, you know what I mean, Like,
there's enough real stuff to deal with. We don't need
to be creating things on top of it. Like, let's
just deal with the real stuff and get better at
it instead of adding more layers that are unnecessary on top.
You know. The thing, the crazy thing is that people
start to throw throw words in people's mouths when they

(02:16:27):
say something and they add in like you know, and
it just turns into a wildfire when it comes down
to it. And you know, you know, right as right,
as wrong as wrong. That's how to live by and
that's how it should be. You know. The Jew thing,
you know, we've personally being a black man and knowing
it talking to a lot of black it's a lot
of jealousy towards what the Jews received after all this,

(02:16:51):
and that's called reparation, you know. And it's a lot
of jealousy because you know, blacks feel the same way
about slavery, like where's our reparation? You know? And it
can't be like that because I can't live my life
like that because I wasn't a slave. I had my
opportunity to make it in his life and do something
great in his life. But I'd rather be hang out
with enuckleheads and do other things. So you know, I

(02:17:13):
can't blame it on anybody else but myself, you know.
And the police thing, it's more of just I'm just
asking for accountability. I don't know whether anybody else is
asking before. I'm just asking for accountability that when I
get pulled over, I'm not considered the suspect and leave
it at that. You know. Hey, I hear you, man,
I hear you loud and clear with all of that stuff.

(02:17:34):
And I hope we get there. I really do. And
I think we need to reassess where Coop has you
in the power rankings after this call. I thought you
did a magnificent job here, Chris, So Coop, but do
you want to reevaluate here? You want to bump up Chris?
After this? Huh? Where do you have this call? Yeah?
After this call? Who doesn't like me to tuck our past?

(02:17:56):
And lakers? Brian? Believe me, I see it. I was
runner up call of the years in a row and
all of a sudden, I'm the worst caller, the bankers,
the over rated coach. By the way, real fast here,
Chris um are the Rockets gonna take down the Lakers
with the NBA reef started, Yeah, Lake, overrated lebron Is
I used to conference, came over to his Western conference.

(02:18:19):
Gonna get some real men and some real ball players.
And by the way, while I make this segment, just
Chris from Houston dominant here. What's up with J. J.
Watt saying, hey, he might not play if the NBA
starts their season on time? What do you make of this?
J J Watt? Yeah? J J Wat NFL said, Yeah,

(02:18:40):
I'm just switching gears on who It's just a bunch
of talk. Everybody's gonna talk right now. I'm just really
banking on the NBA bubble to go well and go,
you know, with mental issues, so it can show these
folks that is not a boogeyman out here and they
could come back out of here in the streets and
actually do what they're supposed to do. You know. I mean,
I'm not I'm not dissing the coronavirus and there's something

(02:19:00):
that's real. You know, my wife knows people that that
have been affected by it. But at the end of
the day, we still got to live our life and
life has to go on. And I'm a Brian good shows,
all right, but thanks for checking in there. He is
Chris and Houston. See Chris lost all credibility as ax.
He's like, because I come on here and talk sports. Dude,
tried to pretend like the the Houston astro's cheating scandal

(02:19:22):
was a hoax for like five months. You can't turn
the page. You can't turn the page. Way never up
on that. Huh Yeah, if it was you know, if
it wasn't against the Dodgers Houston asterisks, could you turn
the page on that? I'm pretty sure you never. By

(02:19:44):
the way, what happens, Roberto, If the Dodgers win the
World Series and a bunch of people say it's not
a real World Series, they can all kiss my ass.
I thought that's what it's going for, right then, be
sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller Show
days two am Eastern Pacific. Now, I guess this came
out a couple weeks ago. I didn't see it. Maybe

(02:20:08):
you did, Brian, but you know, we don't see everything
that's out there. But as I mentioned earlier that all
of the NBA teams are now in Orlando for the bubble.
They're all there today. Thursday was the last day. A
couple of teams showed up, and now all the players
that are there and all of the people media, the staff,
whoever is in the bubble. Did you see that they're

(02:20:29):
wearing proximity devices. Yeah, they there. If if you haven't
heard this, they're wearing these devices that if you get
within six feet of another person, who of course is
also wearing the device, because everyone's wearing them, it'll start
like an alarm will go off. That's right, basically telling
you to step away from the other person. It's amazing.

(02:20:50):
I had no idea. What's interesting to me, Eddie is
the NBA is taking all these precautions, and that's great.
There's a bubble. There are these tracking advices. They're beepers
and buzzers that go off. You can't play doubles, ping pong,
all of this stuff. Meanwhile, the workers there at Disney World,

(02:21:10):
they're going in and out of the bubble without being tested.
Like that makes to make any sense to me? Whatsoever? Right?
Zero sense? Yeah? So I I don't get it. I
think that you either test those Disney World workers or
like you relax a little bit of the the heightened

(02:21:31):
security or ever you want to call it. With all
these safety measures with the players in the bubble, I
don't know. It just doesn't add up to me. I
think that's a contradiction, right, It's just odd how that
works out. But yeah, that's what they got going on.
The bubble has to work out for the rest of
the sports world have to say, what's going on with

(02:21:51):
the MLS. I mean, that's caused for concern because those
guys are in the bubble and they're testing positive. So yeah,
two teams are already out gone by from Dallas in Nashville.
So like you've been talking about that, think about that
entire update you just gave Eddie where the Big Ten
conference only football season, conference only schedule ACC is gonna

(02:22:14):
do the same thing. And if you think about the
NBA bubble, imagine if there are some positive test results,
the virus starts to spread, NBA has to shut it down.
How can you then if your college football or the
NFL think, well, yeah, we gotta proceed as normal, we
gotta start this season on time. Well, how could you

(02:22:36):
actually come to that determination? If the NBA bubble doesn't
work out, You're not in a bubble. Why do you
think it would be okay for you playing a sport
that's different in nature, also with many more players, higher
numbers in terms of just bodies around. So if this
NBA bubble doesn't work, I think that is canceling out

(02:22:58):
the football season. If that happens, would you agree with that?
I don't see how. I don't want to agree with that,
but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised, that's for sure. Yeah,
this sucks, man. I want to be the bearer of
good news. Well, it's like I at the very top
of the show. I don't know if you heard what

(02:23:18):
I said, because you were they were busy getting trying
to get you on the air. But when all this
went down, I said to myself, I'm gonna wait till
the end of July. I believe, I swear I was
thinking this, and if it does sports aren't back by
the end of July, then I'm gonna panic and then
I'm gonna really, you know, be be down about this.
And so as the months were going on, I was like,

(02:23:38):
I'm fine, I'm fine. March, I'm fine, no sports, I'm okay.
Then then June starts to come around, I'm like, all right,
I'm starting to hear good news. We're planning things right,
July okay, we've got dates now. And now this comes
out and I'm like, oh, no, no, please, no, I
know it. Man, brutal, brutal, And I think that's what's
gotten us by a lot of these months. I was like, you,

(02:24:01):
I didn't like no March madness. I understood it. They
did the right thing, the NBA being on hiatus for
it'll be about four and a half months between real games.
And what's made that okay to a large degree is
this thought that the football season's going to start and
we're inching closer and closer to it. And now that

(02:24:21):
we're inching closer to the season, it seems more and
more unlikely that we're going to get a season that
goes forward without major hitches. We're already seeing some of
the hitches with reduced schedules and conference only play. But
that's just where we're at right now. And I Fauci

(02:24:43):
has said this before. It's like these leagues aren't going
to make the final call. The virus is going to
make the final call. And while I think that there
are some people that have pointed this out tonight, you
have to find ways to try to live your life
instead of just being in this I don't know, like

(02:25:04):
being in your basement the whole time. You have to
try to live your life responsibly while taking proper precautions.
I don't see how you do the same thing in
the sports world. Is the only thing okay, so rapid
fire style. There's been a lot of stupid comments in
the sports world recently, a couple of smart ones. This
is Julian Edelman his stance after DeShawn Jackson posted some

(02:25:29):
idiotic things, some fake Hitler quotes, and Julian Edelman came
out and I thought that he had a very mature
reaction to what was going on there with DeShawn Jackson
to the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's a portion of what Julian
Edelman had to say. So to that end, Deshaum, let's
do a deal. How about we go to DC and

(02:25:51):
I take you to the Holocaust Museum and then you
take me the Museum of African American History and Culture. Afterwards,
we grab some and we have those uncomfortable conversations. I
think that's awesome. He also said, while we're talking about
anti semitism, it's important to not shift the focus completely

(02:26:13):
away from the Black Lives Matter movement. We need to
be focused and support that. I thought that was great.
That was a very mature adult reaction from Julian Edelman,
who could have just bashed to Sean Jackson say this
is the height of idiocy what he had to post. Instead,
he was like, you know what, let's try to work
this out and come to an understanding. That was a
very mature approach. We also have Zach Banner. He's an

(02:26:36):
offensive lineman with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he posted this
on ig. I thought this was great too. We talk
about the Black Lives Matter, and we talk about elevating ourselves,
and we can't do that while stepping on the back
of other people to elevate ourselves. And that's very very
important to me and it should be important to everyone.
We can't preach equality, but insolves were just trying to

(02:27:00):
flip the script. Yeah, that's right on the money as well.
So there were a couple of smart comments following the
crazy post from the Sean So there you go. You
get some common sense mixed in with some of the
craziness in the sports world. Right now, let me go
out to the phones here, Doc Mike. That is right,

(02:27:22):
a big Ben Maller tradition over here hearing from Doc Mike.
You take it away, Doc, Color of the Year many
times when that the truth are consequences thing? Eighty nine times?
Factor fiction? Doc, Yeah, yeah, factor fiction. Okay, Uh, you're

(02:27:43):
gonna be the first one to hear this. Brian Ben
would have been if he was here, but he's you know,
taking the name. I've been drinking my yarn for twenty years.
Well here's the deal. I'm working now with the president's
past and president deceased and so on that have been
in discreet Okay. We're writing a new book called Sheep
Don't Talk. You get it, Sheep Don't Talk. Yeah, okay,

(02:28:11):
it's a good title. You have artwork on that book. Yeah. Well,
it's gonna be very short, you know, it's it's a
lot of advice. Okay, they don't swell, they don't tell,
and they're grateful as hell. The rhymes there. Yeah, absolutely, man,
I'm there. Yeah, And that was Well, it'll be out shortly.
I'm working with the with the editor as we speak,

(02:28:36):
and uh, it's it's gonna I know it's going to
be a big seller because you know the here if
you pay one hundred and thirty thousand dollars for for
a goofy hooker, Okay while your wife's in the hospital
having a baby, that's kind of stupid. Okay, and stupid
is a stupid gets but you know Jack Kennedy was
kind of stupid. Uh. Bill Clinton was just advice over here, right,

(02:29:00):
we're talking life advice, what political advice, all kinds of advice, yes,
and health advice to about your in therapy. Okay. Every
culture on the planet except the United States teaches his
children you're in therapy. We'll definitely check that out, Doc Mike,
we will get you know, are you like the first
choice of Ben to pick up when absolutely not that

(02:29:21):
it goes to Jonas Knox. Oh, the suits love Jonas.
He's kicked me off his show many times. I don't
get it, right, Like, yeah, but they love him. Maybe
they love him because of that. I'm not sure, Doc Mike.
I would hope that's not the case. But they're like, hey,
can Jonas do it? No ah, gosh, all right, we
got no I guess as a backup, that's not feeling well.
I'll tell you what you know. I'll tell you what's

(02:29:43):
you're the best thing that I learned this when I
was in the banking business. Okay, you'll listen. You know
you let Chris palk. Okay, Ben, sometimes I have to
tell him, you know, take a breath. You got a
caller here. There's a caller driven show. I had my
own radio show for ten years with forty five million
listeners twice a week on Wellness. Yeah, the Wake Up

(02:30:04):
well Show with Doc Mike Chicago. Listen to those numbers,
Doc Mike, good lord, dude, yeah it was. It was streamed.
I think Ben is streamed. Right they get called from Australia.
You know all about streams. Sure, yeah, yeah, I see
what you did there. All right, Doc Mike. We gotta run, man,
But thanks for checking the same to you whenever you can. Yes, absolutely,

(02:30:28):
you have a good day. There is, Doc Mike. Are
we close it down in style? Coming up next? Which
group is more condescending? I have that it's very very light,
nothing serious here at the end, and I want to
get to a couple of these tweets, A couple of
them been very good tonight, so we'll do that around
the corner. I'm Brian though in for Big Ben. This
is Fox Sports Radio and it drew the issue of

(02:30:51):

give us five stars. It's quick, painless and noise management
and ohy from the Guico Fox Sports Radio Studios. In
for Ben Maller, It's Brian, no Eddie. I got a
question for you here before we get on out of here.
So first off, I burned the heck out of some
pork chops this evening. They were still very good. I've

(02:31:33):
got a grill and uh, you know, every now and
then I forgeget. I gotta help you, Brian, I'll help
you out. You got you got some pointers on that, Roberto.
I gotta get in the kitchen with you. I'll help you.
I'm good with that totally. We'll listen to some h
what's the go to band of yours? System of the
system of it? Now, we'll listen to some system you
know whatever. What distracted you from your grill duties? Brian,

(02:31:54):
I don't know, man, I just forget man, you don't know.
I don't know. I came inside, I got on. Don't
for a second, no, you did. They deserve a burden.
You gotta stay out there and you monitor that meat.
You know. I need to. That's good championship advice by you,
Eddie Garcia. But every now and then I come inside,

(02:32:15):
and that's my problem. I need to stop doing that. Okay,
so how about that. Here's my question. Who's more condescending? Okay,
is it charcoal grill guy because you know that the
very condescending, don't use gas, gotta go, charcoal bro very condescending,
or or is it Apple computer guy? Which guy is

(02:32:37):
more condescending? Computer guy by far? Because charcoal griller guy
he's very condescending as well. I'm sorry, Brian, but I'm
charcoal griller guy. Yeah, I'm gonna go charcoal griller guy.
You think that's the more condescending. Yeah, yeah, No one
ever asked me what computer do you use? They asked me,
do you use charcoal or gas? They are I'm telling

(02:33:01):
you it's a photo finish because Apple computer guy, I'm
an Apple user. Well, I think you need us to,
you know, put it more specifically. iPhone guy, it's it's
it's different, right, iPhone guy, for sure, I'm iPhone guy.
You are too. Apple computer guy. Listen, you might have

(02:33:23):
an iPhone and not be completely condescending to everybody who
doesn't have an iPhone. It is possible. It's rare, but
it's possible. That's not me. You get your get your
green text trash out of my phone. But charcoal griller guy,
he's up there on the list. That's a short list

(02:33:44):
of the most condescending people. Come on charcoal, yeah, come on, never,
I've never used a charcoal and Eddie's telling me I
have to stay outside the whole time. Why it takes that.
That's not asking too much. If you're gonna use the gas,
which saves you a lot more time, and you do

(02:34:05):
lose flavor, at least stand there and drink a beer
and just watch. It's gonna use gas just cooking inside
your house. What's the difference, Now, there's a huge difference. Yeah,
I'll look into getting some charcoal over here. Okay, before
we get out of here, a couple of tweets because
I was talking about Mahomes. I don't think he has
any chance to have a better career than Tom Brady.
I say, no chance. It's too big of a contract.

(02:34:27):
I don't see him getting the same amount of jewelry.
Frances checked in and says, Mahomes is amazing, but so
was Dan Marino and he went to one super Bowl?
Fair enough, fair point. How about Mayor? He checks in,
I don't think that Mahomes is going to be have
a better career than Brady. Mayor tweeted at the no show.

(02:34:47):
I'm a Broncos fan, but quit hating on Mahomes. They
had to take the chance on him. If he gets
one more super Bowl, it's worth it. I'm not hating
on the guy. I just I don't think he's gonna
have the same amount of rings as Brady. One more here.
Ezekiel Elliott, one coach in the NFL, says he's the
eleventh best running back, got a tweet here from No Help.

(02:35:08):
Eleventh is still top third in the league, right, Brian
sounds right to me. There are a lot of backs
who are actually hungry for yards and carries. It does
seem like Elliot is sixty to seventy percent of what
he once was. His career is fading. It's not about
Zeke versus Zeke. It's about Zeke versus the other running backs.
There's no way he's eleventh. It's better than that. Fun times.

(02:35:29):
Mallard Militia, good hanging with you and the crew. We'll
see you
