We had a great mail bag on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Will be my best friend.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
And also listening to this podcast, you already are my
best friends. But what do you think of the Bengals
Joe Mixon's media boycott? Why did Lamar Jackson get testy
with reporters on.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
His style of play?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Coming up in conversation the Baltimore Raven Star, and explain
why Bucks coach Todd Bowles has no timetable for Tampa
to name a starting quarterback. We'll talk about all that
and more right now in our number one.

(02:21):
a fine weekend as we begin anew here from the Mothership,
and I would also like to thank all of you
that showed up over the weekend. We had a Malard
meet and greet in southern California and a lot of
people did go long distances to hang out.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Was we had Regina fly in from Minnesota to hang
out with us.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
On Saturday there at the meet and greet, among others,
some people you know, some people you don't know, some
people that are just behind the listening to the show,
which we love, and then other people that send in
goofy things like Surfer Todd, the comedian and his wife.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
They were hanging.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Out with us and it was a fun time. And
thank everyone that showed up and took time out of
there their lives to hang out with us. It was
a good time. I hope hopefully had a good time
as well. They say, Andy, the comic.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Book guy, who was the hostess that of that event,
a fine time.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
And he's got a great personality and runs a really
cool comic book shop. And I had fun walking around
there checking out some of the stuff that he has.
It's not normally my world, but it was kind of cool.
I geeked out a little bit and some of the stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
But we'll get back to that later.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Our lead this hour to begin the week comes from
the NFL as we parse the news of the day,
and we'll start out in Cincinnati, where Bengal running back
Joe Mixon making headlines, but not for some kind of
criminal activity, not this time, mixing declining declining to talk

(03:50):
with several prominent members of the Fourth Estate his first
practice after he was found not guilty of that aggravated
menacing case, that news coming out at the end of
last week. After Sunday's practice, Joe Mixon said, you know what,
I'm good.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I don't need to talk to your reporters.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
He then announced that he would be boycotting questions from
several media outlets because he felt that they did him dirty.
Sports Illustrated on the Naughty List, the Cincinnati Inquirer Sorry,
something called the Pro Football Network has been banished and ESPN.

(04:33):
Mixon said, quote, it's not happening. He cited the behavior
he deemed to be dis respectful. So if you do not,
Jena flect to Joe Mixon, He's not going to bless
you with his words.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
He says. You know how as.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
He retreated into the training room as he was in
full like French soldier retreat were mode, like a Parisian soldier.
He then returned to one of the ping pong tables a.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Few minutes later, but did not address the media. How
are our.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Lives gonna go on without hearing the wisdom of Joe Mixon?
I guess we'll have to depend on Bengals dot Com.
I see that Mixon did not ban Bengals dot Com,
shocking or nfl dot Com.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
A mouthpiece of the NFL.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
So let us discuss the question what do you think
of the Bengals, Joe Mixon and his media boycott. So
I've got breach, funny bone, and fork, and we will
combine all of these things together and we are going
to make some Skyline chili, which Andy Furman, our colleague

(05:51):
here at Fox Sports Radio, likes to occasionally send out
to people.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
It is a local delicacy in Cincinnati. Now A the.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
First thought I have on Joe Mixon's media boycott. It
shows a tremendous amount of hutzpah. It does tremendous amount
of hutspa I on this side of the microphone. Even
though we spent a lot of our time dissecting what
athletes say, I find ninety nine percent of athlete interviews

(06:21):
a complete waste of time. Most of them are meat heads.
All those of them have nothing to say of interest.
It's just a complete exercise and futility. So that being said,
you look at Joe Mixon. The reason it's extra hutzpah
is he has a um danger of a track record. Now,
if you want to go there, we can go there.

(06:41):
But the infamous punch heard around the college football world
when he cold cocked that girl in Oklahoma that cafe,
breaking the young lady's jaw. But since then he's had
multiple brushes with trouble. And the media boycott thing sounds.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Kind of cool. And the fanboys like that, right, oh man,
the media all that, they love that, and uh, don't
let that.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Don't let the whackerdoodles trash your name, Joe, don't do
it now. Regardless of that, here's the problem, and there's
really no way around this. Joe Mixon is in the
media business. He said, well, no, no, no, here's a football player.
Here's not in the media. No, no, he's in the
media business. What's my evidence? All right, this is a
breach of contract?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
All right? My evidence?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
The standard language in every player agreement the Media Access
Policy that was written and agreed upon by the union
and the NFL power brokers. The Media Access Policy is
reviewed and updated annually and it remains the standard operating
procedure for the NFL. The media is a crucial part

(07:48):
of that the NFL is a media company. They are
a media company, and in the language right, in the
language right, there is reasonable cooperation with the news media
is essential to the continuing popularity of our games.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
I'm reading it right out of the agreement.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Players must be available to the media following every game
and regularly in person during the practice week, as required
under league rules and their contracts. The minimum for such
players does not include other required media obligations, meaning that
if Joe Mixon does the bare minimum, he still has

(08:26):
to have regular meetings if if requested by the network
production meetings from NBC and Fox and CBS and all
the different networks. Also national media interviews arranged by the
PR Department.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
So let me rephrase this for those of you a
little slow in the back of the room.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
If Joe Mixon continues violating the rules, he will be
found in contempt of conduct detrimental to the NFL and
then will be subject to the accountability measures or go
finds and things along that line.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Maybe Mixon doesn't care, and he's willing to get Dings
some money, and that's fine. If he wants to get
Dings some money, my life will not change any anyway.
Hearing Joe Mixon talk or not hearing Joe Mixon talk.
I think we'll all be okay.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I can't speak for you, but I think we'll be
all right on this side of the microphone. Now turning
the page, let's go to Baltimore, where Ravens quarterback Lamar
Jackson addressed criticism of his style of play recently. When
speaking with RG three, Jackson said, quote, it didn't impact

(09:38):
me at all talking about his style of play running
the ball because I didn't get hurt running the ball.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
But wait, there's more.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Jackson went on to say, as you can see, I
was hurt in the pocket. But you know, people going
to always have their own narratives. But I'm the one
playing that game. Jackson opined, I really don't got anything
to prove, he said, using the King's English. I just
want to win the Super Bowl or a few But

(10:08):
my mind is to just get better day at a day,
day at a time.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
He said, that's not the cliche. I think it's all
right anyway. That was the gist of the quote from
Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
The question why did Lamar Jackson get so testy when
asked about his style of play and the answer here
is rather obvious. This reporting touches a nerve. It touches
the funny bone. Hah, yeah, not so funny. Even though
Lamar Jackson got paid, he got the forever money. His

(10:42):
mama figured it out. With the NFL, they copied the
contract that Jalen Hurts got with the Eagles, added an
extra five million boom, but a ban bought a boom.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
The deal was done.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
But you can tell Lamar, based on this response, is
annoyed with the noise. Many pundits, young and old, many
a punt it believe Lamar is not going to be
a viable quarterback for the Ravens over the course of
this contract. The guaranteed money will be a mistake by
the Ravens long term because of his style of play,

(11:14):
throwing caution to the wind, putting himself in harm's way.
So Jackson did the thing you can't do. At the time,
you can't do it. And when I give my idiot's
guide on how to deal with haters, I always point out.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Don't flinch. Do not flinch. He flinched.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah, there's a large sign that we put up that
warns of the dangers. I'm glad he did it. It's
good content, but don't feed the trolls. Do not feed
the trolls. Lamar Jackson. Feeding the trolls has created more trolls,
and he is reminded all of the trolls, all the
little monsters, that this is a source subject. So if

(11:54):
you want to annoy Lamar Jackson, point out you run
too much, you're gonna get hurt.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
This is a problem. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah,
just like that, and make sure you put the blah
blah blah blah blah blah in the end there. That's
very important.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Now, last word here, let's go to Tampa where the
Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles, who knows he's on borrow time now.
Todd Bowles said that there is no timetable to name
the starting quarterback for his team for the twenty twenty
three season. You might realize there's only one exhibition game left,
then there's a dead week, and then the season begins

(12:30):
in the NFL, so we're heading into that period. Well,
Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask have both played in the preseason,
but Todd Bowles is not yet ready to make the decision.
When asked specifically about this, he said, quote, we don't
have a timetable on it. Bowls opining as to when

(12:51):
to name the starter, We'll name it when we name it,
he said, we feel comfortable with where we're at, so
we'll go from there. All right, let's discuss this the
question explain why Todd Bowles has no timetable for the
Buccaneers today, may starting quarterback. So I have a theory
on this, the malord theory on why Todd Bowles, head

(13:12):
coach of Tampa Bay, has no timetable to name is
starting quarterback because he's been given the fork, the fork
Morton's fork. If you look at Todd Bowles, he has
a choice between two equally unpleasant options. You've got Baker Mayfield,
who has had one good year, and Kyle Trask, who's

(13:36):
had no real opportunity because nobody really thinks he's that good.
Baker Mayfield on one side, and on the other side
you got Kyle Trash. You are stuck between the devil
and the deep blue sea. You are It's going to
be Baker Mayfield. He will be the starting quarterback for
Tampa Bay. And then when he falls on his face,
Kyle Trask will take over.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
That's how it's gonna go.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
But Todd Bowles doesn't want to say that because he's
hoping that something dramatic will change that. On a Wing
and a Prayer, something's going to be totally different for
the Buccaneers and everything will be okay, and there'll be
some kind of magic fix all that will come in.
Good luck on that good luck keep massaging the mini

(14:21):
bar there and maybe something will happen. It is the
Ben Malard Show. If you would like to be part,

eating my cookies. They were all gone. I made a

(15:07):
lot of I brought forty cookies. That's a lot of cookies,
and they were all gonzo before I left, Before I
got done, they were I think Mason listener, Mason from
Huntington Beach, who made the long drive to the Santa
Clarita area of southern California, got the last two cookies
and then that was it. We closed the container and said,

(15:27):
that's all.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
We're done.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
What a way to celebrate National Radio Day which was

Later if you're with us, with a full journey through
the overnight hours. Next hour we have Mallard of the
third degree. Hour three we'll have the incident of ice Line,
and then an hour four at the very end, the
Mallard Militia feud. And that's the plan that's on all
things permitted. You're assuming there's no snaffoos or anything. That'll
be the way we go. Coming up later on throughout

(16:46):
the overnight, we began with an NFL heavy maland monologue.
CEJ in DC writs and he says, Hey, moneyball, Malard,
I think you made a mistake in that monologue. I
believe the Tampa Bay quarterback is named Kyle Trash, not Trask.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, well that's.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Only when he plays, if he's holding a clipboard, he's
Kyle Trask. After that, eh, Shane from De Moines says,
what a start to the week.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Let me be the first to say, Poppy sucks. Very
nice of you. Who else do we have?

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Just Josh always on the pulse of being a man
of the people, big man out there pressing the flesh
the militia, bringing cookies and milk.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I did not bring milk. I just brought cookies. That
was it. And we were hanging out in the comic
book shop there, and.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
For the record, they were excellent cookies.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Eddie, you've trashed my cookies before. I don't want to
hear your opinion on my cookies. And I wow, Eddie,
the photos I took. See this is how you take
a photo of a cookie. Okay, I posted food porn
is what I did. I took photos. I think that's
my new career. When somebody finally realizes I suck at radio,
I'll just become a food photographer.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
I'll go around. Did you see how good the those
cookies looked at you in the photo? They looked really
good in the photo.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
They looked good and they tasted good. Just keep that
effort up and you'll get nothing from compos For me.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Well, I did get a hack. Now full disclosure here.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
I want to thank Alf, the alien opiner, because I
don't go on TikTok.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I'm too old for TikTok. But Alf's on there and
he sent me a.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Video clip of a little trick to make perfect cookies.
Now I've got the ingredients down pat, but there's a
little hack you can do when you make the cookies
that makes them bakery quality. And I've done that now.
So that's the way to go. And I will never
go back. Once you cross over the rubicon, you cannot

(18:39):
go back. Ferg Cat rights in. It was great to
see Ferg Cat at the malar mean ingred. You see
Ferg Cat out.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
There, Eddie.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
I did not. He must have showed up after I left.
I left right when Sir for Todd was showing up.
So it was a nice distraction for me to kind
of sneak out.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
What an introduction. Actually, Ferg Cat didn't show off.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I lied, But what a great distraction to see for
Todd there walking and run interference there.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
He had the zoot suit on, you see that.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
I did see that as yeah, and his wife was
blowing a.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Whistle yes, and he learnt everyone that Sir for Todd
had arrived.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Which was great. And then I was like, see, I'm he.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Had a trophy around his neck. Yeah, to celebrate the
Benny victory and all that. He was very happy about that,
and so it had a cow on the trophy.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
It was quite the.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Coop and I did talk about almost doing like a
tag team thing, and it was pretty close. I think
I was there for like ten or fifth maybe ten
minutes after Coop showed up, and then I was I
slid out the door there. Yeah, yeah, and it worked
out perfectly.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I want to think Andy because he we stayed until four.
He had a raffle, gave away a bunch of cool stuff.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
That place was jumping, man.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah it was.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Yeah, yeah, it was cool, and.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Not just because of us. There were there were a
lot of customers there. They have had all kinds of
little events going on, raffles.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
It's funny bring that up because, uh, not only did
the Mallard Militiy eat my cookies, but anyone in the
store was eating my cookies. So I consider them now
friends of the show because they ate the cookies. So
there now they have to listen. Even though many of
those people, I think they could not tell a football
between like Thor's hammer, you know that, the two different things.
But anyway, it was great to be out there. It

(20:18):
was fun to see everybody, and it was good. Coop
came out as well. And hung out with us, and
so we had a good time. And we've done the
SoCal Meet and greet for twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Three and let's see where we Go is the first
ever comic book shop that we've done.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
We've done most of the restaurants and bars over the years,
and so this is we can now check off the
comic book shop.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
And so it was it was cool to be there.
Casey Carrhaller writes in he says, during one of the
episodes of The Last Dance, Dennis Robbins said he'd almost
play the game for free, but he has to get
paid to put up with the bs. He was referring
to the media. Yeah, which I always gotta.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
I always found this amusing because the most of the
media just are total fanboys.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Like there's only a couple a holes in the media.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Most of the media would suck the toes of these
athletes if they could, if they'd allow them. And it's
just it's wild that the athletes are so offended by
the media, because I'm telling you, I've seen it, I've
lived it, I've been out there.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
The media is filled with fans that just happen to
have microphones. Some of them.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Some of them have tape recorders or whatever, notepads from
I don't even know. I read fer Kat's comment. He said,
if Joe Mixon wants to boycott the Evil four letter,
I say more power to him. I've been shunning the
Mothership for a couple of years now, and I've never
been happier.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Well, there you go.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Way to get it done, Way to get her done.
And let's go to the phones and let's say hello
to Andre who is in the Commonwealth final few days
before he has to go back to the classroom.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Hello, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (22:03):
Then?

Speaker 6 (22:03):
Listen, thanks for taking the call. I'm taking aback by
what I'm seeing on social media. I got a couple
of things to say about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and
the circumstance that they're in, stuck between a rock and
a hard place. That's where you started, you know, in
terms of having a bad season, and you got these
two transcending quarterbacks, the young man from North Carolina, Drake
May and Carol Williams out of USC So do they

(22:23):
go for them, you know and just outright tank, you know?
Or do they see what's left? But I can't even
get into that you're at Brave New World Comics here, Ben,
this place is looking absolutely tremendous, not just because of
the cookies that you brought. We got award winners, We
got folks that had trophies based on their contributions to
the to the Malard militia. And then I'm looking at
this place. I'm going through the couple pictures. This is

(22:45):
the most awesome comic book shop that I've seen since
the Lost Boys came out being a child at an
awesome Madie, you know what I'm saying. And in the
comic book shop and the Wars Boys and they were
trying to tell them about the imminent danger that they
were in, and of course the young man didn't get
it to start with. But this place, Brave New World Comics,
I mean, this is why California is cou We don't have.

(23:05):
I mean, these establishments are few and far between here
in at Connonwall. We need more of this type of action,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
So there you go, Andre, Andre, you could you could
have you could talk to any of the comic book
guy and then you could open like a Northeastern chapter
of the Comic book Shop and you could dominate the
comic book world as a side hustle, in addition to
giving back to the next generation the community.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
As a teacher.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
Then, and that would help me to dig myself out
of the debt that I've accumulated based on my support
and a creepy quarterback and some of the financial obligations
that caused me to miss you. You know what I mean,
I was. I was kind of running and hiding when
you were here on the East Coast.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Ah, that is that why you were running line.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
We got comics, we got the maland militia. This was
just you know, a next level. You know, you don't
consider yourself, you know what I mean, to be much
of a Hollywood guy. You're a man of people then,
but very few people can be at Brave New World
Comics and can be at mister mister Ruben's Fourth of
July white party and navigate. I mean you should have.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Been there, be Wow, the invitation got lost, Andrea, but
I would have been really uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
With that event.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I would not have done well with that that shindig there,
that's not my scene.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Just don't do well.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers their win total this season,
Andre is six and a half over under six and
a half over on DraftKings. That seems way too high
more than they're more like the five or six to
six and a half. You gotta win seven to take
the over on that. If they win seven, Todd Bowles

(24:43):
should be the coach of the year.

Speaker 6 (24:45):
You're right, Ben, But just like your cookies, you know,
we're super soft and just wonderful and delicious. This schedule
to start the season, they start off with the Vikings,
who are looking to take a step back after last year.
The Bear definitely a rebuilding team. Now it toughens upthing.
Not gonna win against the Eagles and we three, But
then they have the Saints and then the Lions after
that and the Falcons they got they got. They gotta

(25:05):
Ben mallor a cookie cutter type of a schedule. So
I think that's why I'm kind of leaning, uh, they
should win six. I'm gonna say over based on their
talent and the schedule.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Yeah, but Ben, Andre, let me give you a little
secret here.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Okay, and I'm not always right about everything, but I'm
very rarely wrong. If you're doing futures, you should always
bet the under because there's two ways to win the
under Okay, team underachieves, you win, or key player gets
hurt and you win.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
So there's two.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
The only way to win an over bet is if
the team overachieves. How often do teams overachieve? It does happen,
but I wouldn't bet on a team overachieving.

Speaker 6 (25:48):
No, no, especially when you have these two trains ending quarterbacks.
And at the end of the day, that's the way
I think we saw how Arizona well.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
The good news though, Andre, the good news for the
team like Tampa Bay, not that you care about the Buccaneers,
but the good news is that division is a dog
food division.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
That is a bad division. There's not a single good
team in that entire division. New Orleans stinks, Carolina and
Atlanta they're no good.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
But somebody's gonna end up winning that.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Division and breaking through absolute race to the bottom, which
is the polar office. In conclusion, Ben, I'm really pressed
with this malor meet and Greek. You're a humble guy,
but in terms of how you resonate, I don't know.
I think Gavin Newson need to be concerned out there
in California. I think he needs to be worried because
if you went to the political round.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Ben.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
Okay, you're at the White Party on the fourth of July.
You're at the Brave New roy Comic book store the
next day. I mean that's type of crossover, a peal.
I mean only somebody like that. It's qualified.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Here you all right on it? Enough buttering my biscuits.
Thank you. We'll talk to you soon. There's the Great
Andre from the Commonwealth checking in.

Speaker 3 (26:52):

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Ben, you'll be excited to know that the Women's World
Cup has concluded. Oh Hallelujahlllouiah Spain over England. I guess
there was a I don't know. It's an interesting note.
I guess maybe interesting. Maybe interesting is not the right
word to use. But so there was one goal scored,
Spain beat England one nothing. And the woman that scored

(27:59):
the game winning goal old Karmana.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Ogad, a girl named Oga.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
I have not known. Her dad passed away at some
point during the match. Oh my, I was not at
the event. They're down under, but she found was was
he sick? They didn't say, they didn't announce what the
cause of death was. But she scored the only goal
and uh and they told her after the match unfortunately
her dad had passed away. So bittersweet moment for her.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
But yeah, that's not a fun fact.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
No, no, it's not not not at all, not fun
at all.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
It is the Ben Malord Show.

I see we can play this audio from the Jets
Bucks preseason game.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
We started talking about the Bucks.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
It was National Radio Day on Sunday, but on set
the Jets played the Buccaneers and Chris Myers, who is
part of the Fox.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Sports Radio Alumni Association.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Chris has been doing Buccaneer exhibition games for many, many years.
I did a show with Chris long time ago here
at FSR, and so Chris was in the booth and
it was a flashback to the old Howard Stern show
of the nineteen nineties, back when Stern was good and
not the woke Stern of today, but the old Stern.

(29:30):
Listen to the son Now Chris Myers is doing the
play by play. I think it's coming up to halftime
here and listen to the crowd mic. What happens tike
a Lis tackling bounce at the eleven or to the ball.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Being snapped and the foul for a false start. The
clock was at zero, that is the end of the
first half.

Speaker 9 (29:48):
Okay, Thank you Scott Novak for the clarification. Nice chat
by the officials. Play Scott Novak his crew in this
first half, the Bucks will be kicking what.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah, play it? Play it again.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
This is as on the Bucks TV broadcast. Perfect pause
by Chris Myers. Could not have a better pause. The
crowd mic picks up the guy who's obviously.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
An old school sturf. Hey tall you listen, listen, listen in.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
The foul for a false start. The clock was at zero.
That is the end of the first half.

Speaker 9 (30:21):
Thank you Scott Novak for the clarification. Nice shot by
the officials. Play Scott Novak.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
The Bucks will be just keep it, Chris, keep going
pro Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
So I'm assuming this is like the mic that picks
up the crowd noise, or they just have a mind.
Somebody would speaking.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
It's either that or it's the referee mic. I would
assume the ref turned the mic off.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
But just spoke, howboy, guys, it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Wouldn't that be great? It was the referee.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I'm gonna punk everyone BA so good?

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Oh that is great. And that's from the Bucks exhibition game.
What a way to celebrate National Radio Day Over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
And the bucket brigade, Eddie, this is coming from Sofi Stadium.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
You were not there.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
I was gonna ask you about this, but you said
you were not there, your wife not there. Also a
tropical storm Hilary still pounding where we are here in
southern California with rain, and.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
The NFL decided, you know, we'll just play a game.
What the hell, why not exhibition game at Sofi Stadium.
So they did. They played the exhibition game Saints and
the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
And there are dozens of videos of the multi billion
dollars Sofi Stadium leaking water as there were people noticing
the leaking water in several locations, including some of them
that were coming down on the field pregame. Imagine being
the person that has to go on the roof to

(31:53):
patch up the hole there because there's water dripping down.
I'm not sure how they fixed that situation, but I
did learn when Sofi Stadium opened a couple of years ago,
it is not a dome stadium. Even though it has
a roof over the playing field. It is not a
dome stadium because it is open on both ends of
the stadium, so it is not or at least one

(32:15):
end of the stadium. It's open, so it's not a
dome or in the NFL, even though it's got a roof,
not a dome. So the wind howls in there and
in Alabama or not Alabama?

Speaker 1 (32:25):
It was? Was it Alabama?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
The National Championship of Georgia who they play in the
National Championship Game?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
But it was Georgia in like TCU or something. Remember
the at Sofi and the people. It was like a
slipping slide.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
It was so wet from the water blowing in with
the wind and going all over the place. It was
absolutely a nuts, absolutely nuts.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
So it is the Ben Malord Show. We will continue on.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
We'll take your phone calls here, coming up momentarily at
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. That's eight seven
seven nine nine six three six y nine.
