(00:25):
Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Radio. Hope you're having a
good day. I'll be ready. Footballs here we got reaction
to the NBA last night? What a what? What a game?
The double overtime shooting, shot making Raptor Celtics was out
of this world. I mean out of this world. That's

(00:49):
how good it was. Uh, and the Raptors forced a
game seven. I will find out who has any sort
of juice left in the tank after last night? What
what a incredible night of of basketball and incredible uh
second half at fourth quarter? I mean see me second
overtime of shot making. Brandon Weeden, former NFL quarterback, former
tight Texans Quarterback's gonna be our guest. Texans open up

(01:12):
the NFL season in mirror hours. Can not wait? Can't wait? Um,
I can't wait to see what the NFL season has
in store for us. Because as much as we could say,
like well we should have seen last year coming right
with the Chiefs, who were one off side penalty away
from going to the super Bowl, that's usually not the

(01:33):
way it works. Of course, the last time we saw
the Texans, they were up twenty four nothing to the
very same Chiefs from the packed house in Arrowhead. It
won't be a packed house obviously tonight. And like the
Chiefs did in every playoff game and the Super Bowl,
that came from behind and stomped him. Get to that
in a moment. Todd Ferman from locking in on FS
one will get his take on the bets tonight. By

(01:55):
the way, how did we do Ramo's Do you remember
how we did in our in our heading segment from
last night? Because I believe, and you tell me if
I'm wrong, and Buyer can attest to this, I believe
I had all but one pick correct. That would be
my by my estimation. Um, I had, I think right,

(02:16):
we had the over under in well, that's actually not
true because we both had the we had the oh
I had the over and Clippers nuggets. I missed the
over under. I hit the over on the Raptor Celtics, right,
I had the Clipper. I went to an oh, and
you guys both picked against me. So that's all I know.

(02:36):
I took the Raptors and I took the Clippers. Big
take the Raptors into the Clippers, big, Well, they want
my nine, but they did clip cover. Sorry for the
Raptors favorites. No, there were two. Yeah, and the Clippers
were like seven half point favorites by eleven, so I
was one in three. Delete this from the podcast. Hey John,

(03:01):
how about how Dan Buyer did I get to the Uh?
Lakers are five point favorite? You want to get that
picked out now, right right now for you? If you,
if you would Buyer, give you the Lakers. I like
the Lakers too. I'll take the Lakers as well. Over
under to eighteen and a half, I go under. Yeah,
I'd go under as well. Uh, I'm gonna go under

(03:26):
as well. What's the over under on female staffers in
Daniel houses? Uh hotel room? Is that? I mean she's
supposed to be checking in for coronavirus? There are many
ways to check for coronavirus, right, I mean I don't
mind the story at all. You know, did he actually

(03:47):
break protocol? Like that is very much a gray area. Well,
I didn't invite her inside the bubble. She was inside
the bubble, and you know, if she's testing, then you
would think she's been test that this is you know,
it's like a conjugal visit. I don't know. So that's
a great That's that's like an Ald Timer story, right,

(04:07):
that's one of those where we're gonna sit there and
go shame, shame, shame. Then Daniel House walks in the
locker room and obviously the teammates to be upset that
he wasn't there. They needed shooting, but they're like, all men,
I gotta this, gotta give me something there right there? Alright, alright,
uh all right, more on that to come. Uh. This

(04:28):
is the Nut Got Leave show on Fox Sports Radio
where I give you terrible picks apparently although my picks
last year we're outstanding for football. Will give you our
picks with with Todd Ferman a little bit later on tonight.
You know, there there is do you guys know the
expression heavy as the head that wears the crown? Do
you know that one? You know that one? Right Ramos, Ramos,

(04:49):
I know buyer is a big shake. Um, did you
know that it's not heavy as the head? That that's
not actually the quote? Yeah, Um, it's from King Henry
the the what the fourth Uh? He wrote, deny it
to a king, then happy, low, lie down. Uneasy lies

(05:13):
the head that wears the crown. So everybody says heavy
is the head that wears the crown, but it's actually uneasy.
Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Um. The line,
as I read earlier today, is poetic and dramatic. It
describes the responsibilities of a king, which creates troubles for him.

(05:33):
Throughout the play, we learned that Shakespeare portrayed the king
is a very weak leader who feared that history could
repeat itself. He felt pressured to rule his kingdom. Which
is interesting because the chiefs, if you look on their Twitter,
I don't the chief's kingdom, right, Isn't that what they're
They're their hashtag is and this is all the property

(05:58):
of Patrick Mahomes. He is widely regarded as the best
player in the sport, the best quarterback in sport, and
uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. There's different
challenges when you're the Super Bowl champion, you know, when
you haven't won one and you're the Chiefs for so
long were um, I don't want to say they want

(06:21):
to laughing stock of the league. Is the laughing stock
of league, doesn't have a great fan support, doesn't get
to the playoffs, and doesn't choke away big leads in
the NFL. But they there were. It was a certain
amount of snickering with the Chiefs for a long long time,
and and the reason behind that snickering was because the
Chiefs always found a way to give it away, right,

(06:42):
they just did. They always found a way to lose
those playoff games. It's actually the opposite of what happened
last year. Previous years they would get a big lead
and then get super conservative. Now they get come from
behind and they you know, let's just let Pat Mahomes
get back there and sling it and they make these

(07:02):
ferocious comebacks. So they weren't the laughing stock of the league.
But they fit into a little, nice, little tidy box
as a team that was always really good, great fans
and would always gag in the first game they played
at home in the playoffs. That's who they were. Now
they're the kings of the NFL world, and uneasy lies
the head that wears the crown. Every issue is magnified.

(07:27):
Every loss is made into what's wrong with the team.
Every interception is widely discussed and and punctured and and
you try and figure out how that happened. How do
you fix it? If they don't have a great running game.
It's man, they really missed Damian Williams, who you know
might not be as good as the l s U kid, right,

(07:48):
but the fact is he's more experienced. Every butchered offensive
line play, you start to wonder, hey, would we be
better if our starting guard hadn't decided to opt out
this season because he's a doctor. All of these things. Oh,
the defense that we paid Chris Jones all this money.
If he doesn't get home to the quarterback doesn't wreck

(08:09):
have it every day? That that is that, that is
spending that has run amuck. It's just different when you're
the champion. It's just different. You're treated differently. Until you
win it. You're still seen as yeah, let me know
when they win it. Now you win it, and the
expectations are raised, and so much of how we judge

(08:31):
people how we judge teams is based upon the expectations,
not what they actually do. It's like I was having
this discussion with Ryan Music, who's our Steam producer, and
he was pointing out the stats for Paul George and
he was talking about how Paul George he's had these
he's really been terrible in the playffs. Like, wait, Paul

(08:53):
George is really good, you know, in the deciding game
of the last playoff series and in their previous game.
He was not good last night. And his point is,
and it's a good one. Wouldn't you rather have Paul
George at twenty four a night. Just chock him up
for twenty four night than thirty one night fifteen the
next night. You don't want that inconsistency. But the reason

(09:15):
we have such um strong feelings about Paul George and
his productivity is not because of Paul george in productivity.
It's because of the expectations, where the expectations are created
based upon the nickname he gave himself playoff p where
the expectations are created because of the trade and how
that changed the league, or the fact that he was

(09:36):
in Indie that got the Eastern Conference Finals couldn't close,
and Indy wasn't good enough for whatever it is, our
expectations are what changes our perception of how good a
player Paul George is, because without any question, he's a
top twenty five player in the league. But does he
live up to his contract? Well, that's the expectations, and

(09:57):
so that's what changes tonight. Only three times since two
thousand has the preseason favorite one the super Bowl. Twice
that was the Patriots, once that was the Colts. Could
it happen again? Yes? Has Andy Reid produced UH teams
that are consistently solid, Absolutely, But Annie Reid has never
won a Super Bowl. He doesn't know how to handle it.

(10:17):
Pat Mahomes has never won a super Bowl. Let's see
if he knows how to handle it. The kids, the
Chiefs have never seen postseason success in forty eight years
or so. How will they handle it? That's really the
story of this season. Yes, there's the what is Brady
to do? Yes? Is what do the Patriots look like
without Brady? Yes there is the Lamar Jackson last year's

(10:37):
m v P. But can't want a playoff game? Can't
you throw the football outside the numbers? Can they play
from behind? All those things. The Green Bay Packers who
got to the the NFCY Championship Game, but many people
don't believe they added enough weaponry for Aaron Rodgers. All
these are legit questions, but the number one question is
you got the best player, the best quarterback in football,
combined with one of the elite coaches in the history

(10:59):
of the sport, with what's normally a great home field advantage. Obviously,
right now during pandemic, that's not included. Can you live
up to the now crazy lofty, almost unattainable expectations. Kawain
Leonard is great. We already knew this, but the Clippers
titles rest upon one thing. We'll discuss what that one

(11:19):
thing is next. Be sure to catch the live edition
of The Doug got Leap Show weekdays at three p m.
Easter noon Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I
Heart Radio app Doug Gotleap Show, Fox Sports Radio. Hope
you are having a splendid day. Um, we got some
interesting stuff for you today. Brandon we kill join us

(11:40):
in moments. I get his thoughts and the Texans on
Deshaun Watson's new contract, on what it looks like to
attack the Kancity Chiefs. What that place will be like
without fans, Like, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on, interesting, weird,
wild and wacky stuff going on. Yes, so um, look,
I I'm I'm fascinated, just like you are at the

(12:03):
NFL season, which is which is upon us. Um. But
the NBA continues to chug along, and Paul George and
the l A Clippers did get a win in which
everybody's discussing when Michael Porter Jr. Said after the game,
what's not being said is that Paul George only had
ten points last night in the playoffs, six games of

(12:23):
less than twenty five of those fifteen or less out
of those ten ten games, Like suddenly, a guy who
you would think would be the picture of consistency has
been the picture of inconsistency. Right, That's really kind of
what it what it gets, what it comes down to. Um,
you know Paul George. Now, look, he only played twenty

(12:46):
seven minutes, he took ten shots, he was a plus six,
He was fine last night. He's fine. And they dug
in and defensively, they they really did a good job.
But it's impossible to not point out, like the wide
variances in Paul George's output in the playoffs or even

(13:07):
the regular season. But you know, go back to the
Dallas series fourteen eleven nine, and whereas in the regular
season he was much more consistent in the bubble seven,
that's Paul George. You know, fifteen to twenty shots a game,

(13:33):
you know, twenty three to twenty seven points a game.
That's how he rolled. And and again in fairness last night,
only ten shots. He's just not gonna have that much production.
Turn it over a little bit. But the reality is
this is who he's become, these wild peaks and valleys,
and that that's a different Paul George than we're used to.

(13:56):
When a guy who's normally consistent becomes inconsistent, you've got
to think that part of it is skying report and
part of it is putting pressure on himself. I guess
you know that's what playoff p actually is. So, um,
I need to say something here that I'm not gonna

(14:16):
call out anybody individually. I just, uh, there, there's something
that was mentioned on TV earlier today when when uh
it was talked about Dak Prescott's depression. You know, Graham

(14:37):
ben Singer is a guy who's a he's an interviewer.
And I had a friend. I have a couple of
friends who have one worked for him, the other one
that he tried to work for him. Anyway, Well, he does,
he does. He's he's got, like I think, his own
production company. He does his long form interviews. And his
way of doing it is he goes and spends like

(14:58):
a week with the guy before he actually a couple
of days of the guy before he actually interviews him,
so that it becomes like a personal relationship. Um Dax.
Dak Prescott's brother Jason, died by suicide at the age
of thirty one. In a recent interview, Graham ben Singer
talked with Dak Prescott and he opened up about his
brother's death and how he battled depression. You know, and um,

(15:25):
you know, look, I I understand. I totally understand. When
you haven't gone through depression, when you haven't had suicidal thoughts,
when you haven't when you're when you're in your mind
is when you have sound body and mind, you can't
get it right, Like why why you just hurt everybody?

(15:49):
It said? What was it described when you were a
kid as it was to me a permanent end to
a temporary problem or permanent solution to a temporary problem.
But I there's a there's a high school girl lives
around the corner from me, and our families are extremely close,

(16:10):
and for the third time in the last six months,
she tried to kill herself last night. And um, the
entire thing has between COVID, my own children, my own
mental health. Uh, this this little girl's mental health. Like
all these things have opened my eyes to something that

(16:31):
I knew existed, like when I was at Notre Dame.
And I don't excuse my own behavior. I have never
offered up excuses for what I did it Notre Dame.
But I also try and point out and someday I'll
write a Someday I'll write a book, and in that
book there will be a chapter where it talks about
what depression feels like. It is absolutely crippling. I remember

(16:59):
being what I would now try and to discuss as
clinically depressed. It Notre Dame where I did not want
to get out of bed in the morning, I did
not want to go do anything. And if you know me,
I get up at like five thirty, I go, I
take my dog with the park. I like to get
an early work out. I do this, I do that,
I go to the beach and my kid I get

(17:19):
ready for Like I I'm an always busy person and
when i'm I when I'm off, it just I'm off. Um.
So I'm not sitting here telling you that we need
to be sympathetic. It's more empathetic and understanding that when

(17:40):
there's when the chemicals aren't right in your brain and
you're feeling like you're depressed, there's no way in which
you can relay to somebody who hasn't gone through that
what it's like. And I'm like, look, this is all
part of the kind of big your discussion, right, the

(18:01):
discussion about police officers. You know, I've had people send
me just the nastiest, worst messages ever when I said, like,
look I praise brutality is awful, awful. I do think
that on some level you have to think about what
all of these police officers go through. They're going through COVID,
you know, in addition to the fact that many people

(18:22):
think they're all evil and they're all racist or whatever,
so you factor in all the other usual pressures of life.
Plus now you have people protesting some shooting at them
and and they're not acting as they should. That that's
not to be excused, but I think we need to
have a little empathy for definitely for the good cops,

(18:43):
and sometimes even for the bad cops. The same thing
for other people who have acted terribly in their reactions
towards police officers. Like we're all we all kind of
need a mental health break, all right, and to take
a breath. And so when I year people say, hey,
that makes you weak of mind, I would say, that's

(19:05):
that's always been my thought. That's where I've been. Then
I see it in real time and I start to understand, like, man,
the pressures of life when you have kids or you
are a kid and your chemicals are misfiring your brain,
like you can't explain to somebody and just go you
must be strong of mind, Like that's I don't worry.
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug

(19:26):
gott Leap Show weekdays at three p m. Easter noon Pacific.
Let's catch up with our guy, Brandon Weeden, who of
course was the starting quarterback for the Browns, Cowboys and
the Texans. The Texans kick off the NFL season in
three and a half hours. Um, were you there again?

(19:47):
The flag incident? And I'm not bringing it up to
make you feel bad, dude. The flag incident was in Cleveland.
That was your first game, wasn't it? It was first
first start in the NFL. Didn't didn't start off too
got what forget a flag thing? What is that like
your first like your you know, the coach grabs you
by that? Who is your who is your coach? Shermer

(20:08):
was your coach? Yeah? I had Pat Sherman's my as
a head coach. Yeah, okay, and of course Pat Shermer
for people who remember the year before he was the
head he was the offensive coordinator with the St. Louis Rams.
He had good success with Sam Bradford. So it gets
the job. They draft you. You have an unbelievable career
with Oklahoma State. Um, okay, you're getting ready to who
are you playing? Your first game? We played the Eagles.

(20:29):
Michael Vick was the starting quarterback. They had They had
a really good because they're actually a really good football team.
But yeah, we're playing the Eagles, which when it was
gonna be obviously top to first start. But yeah, it
was pretty overwhelming. Man. They're just you know, there's there's
so much that goes on, you know, from the in
the preseason to the first game, and it was it

(20:49):
was definitely learning experience. What what do you remember about
Like did Sherman grab you and say anything to you
before you ran out for your first series? You guys
have the ball first or second? Like, what do you
remember about it? Yeah, they got the ball first. Um,
you know, he didn't say much, to be honest, I
mean he was I think he knew. You know, you know,
you got nerves and butterflies in the whole deal. You know,
it's your first start. So I think it was more
of one of those things just you know, kind of

(21:11):
let me go out and I kind of figured out
of my own and I think that's, you know, kind
of right way to do it. I mean, there's there
are enough pressure, there's already enough nerves, there's already enough
going on inside of my head. So, um, yeah, he
didn't say much. I mean, it really is a close game.
I mean, not threw two two pick tipped, intercepted a
lot of screamings that we're intercepted. And those are the

(21:31):
only two tournaments I believe that game I think to
beat us by one. Um. So, I mean it was
a good game. We just you know it was. It
was a it was a tough one. Um. Okay, when
when somebody and you're a big old like for people
don't know, like you're a big old dude, right you're
you run six four or six five ish, when guys
tip tip when your passes, is it your fault? Is
it a great defensive play? Which is it? It's a

(21:54):
combination of both. I mean, you know, if if the
defensive line can get a beat on the factory, you're
doing a three step drop. You know, I just stopped
rushing and try to get their hands up because they
know the ball is coming out quick, so there's no
point in pass rush. So we did a ton of that,
especially in my first year quick game from understanding, which
I absolutely hate. I didn't do any him in college.
I was, you know, not one of my strings. Um,

(22:14):
but I had had several bad at me. I'm not
necessarily intercepted, just bad it. Like I said, I'm a
big guy. I'm trying to throw through these arms. But
I mean, you know, when you're when you're throwing slants
and hitches and hooks and stuff like that, that are
just quick and easy throws. But it doesn't really matter
unless you, you know, can kind of kind of maneuver
around him. It takes some it takes some learning and
take some luck. I mean most time, it's pretty good
play by the defense on on most of those deals.

(22:36):
I mean, you know, sometimes on the quarterback, but I
would say eight percent a time that's just a good
play by the defense. You threw four picks your first game. Uh,
You're sitting around your locker. You're a rookie, starting quarterback,
first round draft pick. Um at what what? What? What
is that like to have to answer questions when you're
kind of mind is and I know how your mind
works where you're replaying every play in your head while

(22:58):
you're talking to the media. What was that? I mean,
it was hard. I've I've never been through anything like
that in my life. I'll be on. I mean, I've
never had a game like that. I've never lost, you know,
kind of a game like that where you know, I
feel like, you know, I took I took all the blame.
Obviously I can't do what I did and try to
win games, So I took all the blame. What's rightfully?
So and and uh, I just I was kind of

(23:20):
at all in all, I mean, in any sport, I've
never really had a game where I've just kind of
struggled to get to get comfortable, get you know, just
kind of getting the rhythm, you know, and and uh,
when's your first start? And then you know, then you're
talking gets a little shaken because you know, you know
you've got another tough game next week, because there's always
next week, but you know you're you know, then then
you go into the second game, you start pressing. So

(23:41):
I try to just put it behind me as much
as I could. You know, Monday, Monday sucked obviously. You know,
Tuesday is not fun. It's because you gotta wanna watch
the tape again and make corrections. But um, I learned
from it, you know, it was it was a good
learning experience. But I've never been through anything like that. Man,
It's a it was a whirlwind, you know. Brandon Weed
and our guests in the Dug Out Lip Show on

(24:02):
Fox Sports Radio, what is lost in the struggles of
your first season? If I remember correctly, you bounced back
and played great the next week in Cincinnati, didn't you.
I did, Yeah, I played really really well. Actually, I
I you know, I can't romer my stats were, but
I feel like you want to know him. Yeah, well
not not really, but sure, okay nine yards, two touchdowns,

(24:26):
no interceptions. That will work. You know, I can. I
can do that all the time. You know. Unfortunately those
are hard to repeat. But uh that was you know,
I guess that I couldn't used more of those, especially
that first year we lost so many close games and
we didn't have the most talented team. But yeah, I
feel like, you know, yeah, just such a role. You know,
you lose one week, the skies falling, you got you

(24:47):
played well and you win the next week, or you
played better than the next thing. You know, you can
plays and you're gonna go on the super Bowl. I
mean it's just the ebbs and flows of the season
are just insane. So uh yeah, I mean I've got back,
but unfortunately bounced back, uh like I needed to in
order to win the game. Um okay, So now Deshaun
Watson's gonna start on the road against KNC Chiefs. Last

(25:09):
time he played against n C Chiefs up twenty four nothing. Obviously,
Now DeAndre Hopkins is in Arizona. They've added a bunch
of different pieces, but there were no preseason games. What
is it like then when you're as a veteran to
play that first game of the season. Yeah, yeah, I mean,
I don't know. I'm kind of partial, Like I hate
the preseason, but I think one game is nice to
kind of get We'll get knocked the coble ubs up

(25:32):
a little bit, you know, take some hits, you know,
get sore, learn how to recover stuff like that. Um,
so it's tough. And I was just talking to some buddies. Um,
you know, the defense of my opinions usually got the
got the advantage on you know, especially like the first
second game of the preseason. So I'm kind of anticipating
the same thing tonight. You know, defenses are I don't
inticipate a you know, a forty five forty two games

(25:55):
kind of like it has been the past. So it'll
be a big, good game. I'm I think it will
be a little close from people might might think. Yeah,
I know, And it's offenses seem to develop later. I
guess that's the big question. Both of these teams are
known for their offense, but yet offenses usually take a
while to come around. Do you think we have a
high scoring game night. Do you think they struggle now?
I mean, you know, I mean look, I mean, do

(26:17):
these guys combine le was they're making six or sixty
three million or someone something crazy. I mean, these are
three the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. So I
don't expect them to struggle. I think the quarterbacks will
play well. I think they'll be fine. Um, you know,
in my opinion, it's gonna I think it'll be shaky early,
just kind of getting in a rhythm, kind of finding
get in the group. I mean, it's just tough when

(26:37):
we haven't played. You know, you don't care how many
yusually play in the NFL. Your first one is just
you're not uncomfortable. So I don't expect it to be
perfect on either side. As good as my home thing obviously,
as good as the Shawan is. I expect the defense
is to kind of be flying around making a lot
of plays um and then kind of offense is kind
of figuring out kind of lets games goes on. What
what does de Sean? What? What is it that he

(27:00):
does really really well? Everything? His instincts are are probably
some of the best I've ever seen. You know, you
can have a play call and it's not maybe the
best play for that coverage or whatever. He just you know,
let's say defensive breaks the coverage or a bustet assignment
and they miss, you know, miss communicated coverage or something.
He's he's so good at finding those guys and just

(27:21):
exploit him. He just got unbelievable instincts. Uh, he's tougher
and nails. I mean, you know, he's just you gotta
keep hitting him because he is. He's like Mike Tyson.
He's just gonna keep getting up and he's gonna rally.
So the thing is about Seawan is you know, the
game is never over and the game is never over. Um,
the play is never over for that matter. I mean,
the guy's you know, he's to a default. Sometimes he

(27:43):
takes some sex because he wants to make everything to play,
which hold learning. You know he can't do that. But uh,
the guy's just he's solid. I mean, one of the
best human beings I've ever met, one of all time
favorite teammates. Um, but he's he's a stud man. He's
he's he got paid once and he'll be twenty nine
or thirty when the next one comes up, he's gonna
pay again. So he's he's killing There are some people

(28:04):
that believe without Nuke there, they may be better because
that was always his default. Like everybody when when trouble,
when he got in trouble, he almost leaned on on
DeAndre Hopkins too much. Do you agree with that? Now?
I need to d s. I mean, I mean, hops
Dogs are arguably the best receiver in the game. So

(28:25):
I think any quarterback, whether it's de Shaun whoever, is
playing there and they're going to default and trying to
find him. I mean, the guys, the guys really good.
You know, I always thought Hopkins was better to Shaun,
was better when Will will Fuller was playing. I think
will Fuller is kind of the X factor there because
I think he's he's so versually the best route runner
on that on that team, it was, you know, while
I was there, Um and just speed. Guys are scared

(28:46):
to death to get beat over the top bottom because
he's so fast. Um, he's a really good route run.
So he made Hopkins better. So when when Will was
that active and healthy and you know, didn't it really
it wasn't that he had to rely on throwing to
you know, winning doubtthrow to Hop him, he was kind
of you know, he trust everybody. He felt more comfortable.
I think, and uh, you know, not having Hop. I
think it's gonna be it's gonna be adjustment. You know,
when when it's one on one over there to your

(29:07):
left and you got tin on whoever the corner is,
you gotta like your chances. And he didn't have that anymore.
He didn't have that security blanket like he did. So
it's gonna be an adjustment for him. Um, but I
expect him to figure it out. What's Bill O'Brien, What's
what's his strength as a play caller? Um, you know,
I think he's, Yeah, he's gotten a lot better at

(29:29):
tayloring what he wants to do to to the quarterback.
I can't really see that was the case when I
first got there. I think, you know, he's he's calling
plays with new quarterbacks. I think he's trying to mold
everything the way he did things with Brady, and I
don't think that was really the right way to go bad.
But I think he's learned with the Shawan. You know,
he's he's open ears. He's done a really good job
of kind of taking what the Shawn wants to do

(29:50):
and and Taylor what they to what they do offensively.
So he's he's changed, he's involved, you know. I think
you know, when I was there as test and the team,
so we spent a couple of years. I think one
then they need to work on their red zone package,
especially inside like the fifteen twelve fifteen yard line. Um,
which that's that's it's stuff down there. But um, you know,
it seemed like a lot of times we got down

(30:10):
there and we have a good drive and then we
kind of stall out. So you know, I expect them
to make some adjustments there. But um, you know, he's
gonna play called a smart guy, um and over the years,
he's he's learned to listen to his guys more and
kind of kind of implement what they want to do
and what they're comfortable doing. What will Kansas City be
like with no fans? They're like, like, you know that
that's it's one of the most intimidating atmospheres in the NFL,

(30:34):
and now you don't have that intimidation factor. Yeah, I
mean that is a true home field advantage place and
that that's one of the loudest places I've ever played,
So it'll be that'll be interesting. I wouldn't I didn't
even know they weren't having vans. I was assuming, But um, yeah,
I mean that's gonna be that's gonna be different. I
mean that that place is usually rocking, especially first first
route out of the box on a primetime game. That

(30:54):
place we've been rocking. So I mean, I think that's
an advantage for Houston. You know, go out and now
you don't want to worry about taking the crows again,
and now you just go out and play play ball
and you don't have to worry about going on a
silent counting all the nuances that kind of go with
playing at a at a rowdy place. So I think
that I think that gives Houston a little bit of
an advantage, but not an advantage win the game, but
just more than advantage than they would have if fans

(31:15):
were there. Yes, sixteen thousand fans is what they're gonna have. Okay, Yeah,
so pretty much nothing compared to a Yeah, it'll be,
it'll be interesting. It'll be interesting. Brandon, listen, Uh, sounds
like you're close to a golf course. Get out there,
hit him. Long and straight and uh we'll look forward
to your feedback after watching Week one of the nash
Football League with great insight. You give us thanks, You me,

Dan Byer, what's the game today, Doug? The game today
is I feel a draft? All right, Doug. Today we

(32:25):
are drafting, as his staff, not only you and me,
but John Ramos and via the telephone, Ryan Music players
most likely to win the NFL MVP Award In the draft.
I'm gonna go in. Um, sorry, all right, it's not
gonna be much difference. Alright. The draft order is, Doug,

(32:46):
you have the first overall pick, followed by John Ramos,
Ryan Music, and then myself and we'll snake it around.
I actually have this scheduled for four rounds. We'll see
where this goes, Okay, Lamar Jackson is the favorite. Jimmy
Garoppolo is the can favorite. Third favorite, Drew Brees. That's
surprised to me. I guess that's the town around him.
I'm going with the fourth favorite. I'm going with Aaron
Aaron rod Jazz. Aaron rod Jazz, who said he's far

(33:11):
more comfortable in the offense this year. Once called the
place earlier quicker so he could audibilize what you said
he wasn't comfortable doing last year. Alright, So Aaron Rodgers
is off the board, the first pick in our NFL
m v P draft. Ramos, you are second, my first
underground talking about what's going on in Philadelphia. So that's
scared me about somebody there? Uh Cowboys, Yeah, Russell Wilson

(33:34):
all by him some I'm gonna go with Tom Brady.
How about that one in the NFC? Tom Brady, guys,
this is the NFL. You never know, new life in
Tampa Bay. We'll see what happens. I like Tom Brady, alright,
Ryan Music Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are off the board.
You are up third for your pick on who will

(33:56):
win the NFL m v P. Guys, this one is
so obvious. I'm gonna go with Peyton. Many becomes funny,
you know, I look at this, it all this, I
will go with I will go with man. This is tough.

(34:18):
I'll go with Russell Wilson. Wilson. All right, Well, that
leaves you at number four my pick for m v P.
I posted it on Twitter today, By the way, a
lot of positive reviews for my NFL picks. I'm going
to take DeShawn Watson and then I will take Patrick
Mahomes at number five. So Ryan, you're up next. I

(34:42):
am gonna go with, according to the raw stats from
last year, the best pastor in the league, Dak Prescott.
Let's go with Dak Prescott and see if he can
improve on last year's good, good performance according to the stats,
just not the win loss column. All right, almost, you're
up next. Who's most likely to win m v P?

(35:03):
Number seven? This is gonna be a tough one. How
about how about the man that people think is all
of the San Francisco forty Niners? How about Greg Kittle
the tight end or George George good pick good pick
that doesn't exist George Kittle, by the way, two minutes. Alright, Doug,

(35:30):
you are up with two picks. Um, okay, I am
going to take I got two picks here, right, I
will take who. Um, I'll take Jimmy Garoppolo, Jimmy Roppolos.
I'm sorry, I take Jeff Garoppolopolo. Jeff Garpolo, Jeremy Garo,

(35:54):
Jeremy Garoppolo. Okay, and then I need one another one. Um,
I will take Christian McCaffrey. Interesting, alright, Ramos, you are up. Well,
I was gonna take Christie McCaffrey, but since he was
just taken, I'm gonna go ahead. And why not just
try it again, Lamar Jackson. There you go. I'm third

(36:15):
round for Lamar Jackson. It's quite some value, alright, music,
I will go with Saints wide receiver Michael oh M.
I's kind of hoping that maybe he would drop to me. Uh.
Then that puts me. I'll say this. I'm gonna put
Aaron Donald because I think he's the best player in
the NFL. So I'll go defense with that one. And

(36:39):
then give me Cam Newton. Oh all right, Ryan, I
will go with Let's go with Hey Ramos, Let's go
with Jared Goss. Let's go for a breakout season with Jared.
Thirty seconds, Ramos, you're picking Dugs to wrap it up? Yeah,

(37:03):
I want to running back. I'm trying to think of
the best running back. I can't think of the barley
that's sure. Did anybody pick DeShawn Watson? Yes? I did. Yes,
Matt Ryan, is game time? You got weapons? He's done
it before. I mean, why why? Why not? Right, I'll

(37:26):
tell you why the Texans are better than you think.
