Speaker 4 (00:46):
The wait higher bind should be.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Crazy to think, though, we are talking about Joe Flacco
in a Browns uniform and you are making a spit
for Canton.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
I mean, how do you not root for him?
Speaker 5 (01:00):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Right? It was so funny to see CJ. Mosley go
up to Joe Flacco with a handshake last night and say,
you know, did you ever bleep and think that they
would be channing your name in Cleveland? And that is
what happened last night. Jets, by the way, completely different story.
We may get to them at some point. It seems
(01:22):
like we've talked about the Jets so much this season
that now with their season already sealed, their fate already
sealed six and ten. We believe that Woody Johnson will
bring Robert Sala and Joe Douglas back, because that's what
Woody Johnson said. He said so last week that that
would Core would be returning. We expect Aaron Rodgers to
be returning. But honestly, we've talked about the New York
(01:44):
Jets for sixteen weeks of the season. We don't need
to talk about them in week seventeen after losing to
the Cleveland Browns, so we can actually talk about the
Cleveland Browns. And it's funny, Monci, because I think there's
a bigger picture here. There's a bigger picture about the Browns,
and it's there's something that I said on the Doug
Gottlieb Show a few months ago, and there's something that
I said on the Red Zone radio show that we
(02:07):
do on Sunday when the Browns beat the San Francisco
forty nine ers. I know you know exactly what I'm
talking about, but I do want to I do want
you to hear. Last night, after the Browns top the
Jets thirty seven to twenty and the Browns clinched a
playoff berth with Joe Flacco as their quarterback, this was
Brown's head coach Kevin Stefanski about, well, I'm gonna call
(02:29):
him QB four because he was the fourth Brown starter
of the year, the veteran Joe Flacco.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
I think, you guys know, I just haven't watched Joe now,
and we as coaches are getting to know Joe and
that type of thing. But he's he battles like crazy.
I think he's he's doing a nice job of playing
within himself and playing within the scheme and all those
type of things. But he's also making plays and there
were a bunch of plays that he made tonight that
we're key.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
And yeah, over three hundred yards should have been some interceptions. Yeah,
but it's funny. We're still getting to know Joe here.
Joe Flacco is taking the Browns to the postseason and.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Taking a nap on the sideline. Did you see that
video too? He was like dozing off at the end.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
There's a guy that I follow on Twitter and he's
a big football helmet guy because I love helmets, and
he made a joke and I should get the official
handle because I want to give him credit on what
he said. But the Browns are wearing the patch of
nineteen forty six, and so football helmet Guy FB helmet
guy says, nice of the Browns to put Joe Flacco's
(03:33):
birth year on his jersey as they've played today. By
the way, Joe Flack and I we share the same
breath January sixteenth. Yes, so he's going to turn a
year older in less than a month. But I thought
that that was very funny. But it's funny to think
that the Browns are still getting accustomed to Joe Flacco
and he's winning games for them, and not only winning
games for them, but they're going to the playoffs and
not only going to the playoffs. Want see, there are
(03:56):
people saying that teams don't want to face.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
The Cleveland right based Joe Flacco and the Browns defense
and you know what's even more impressive to me about
Joe Flacco watching these games. So far, He's thrown a
couple of interceptions, but it doesn't take him out of
the zone. He just comes right back in there and
delivers the next play. That's a veteran quarterback for you.
He is not afraid of the moment, isn't afraid that
(04:18):
he just threw an interception. He has come out every
single time, and.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
It's just so great to watch.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
I you know, aside from the joke of the year,
people were like, well, he's five kids, so anytime you
get to like close your eyes with five kids, you
kind of like, doz off, He's taken nap when you can,
like it's all the jokes are so funny. And then
he just is a likable dude. We may not have
known much about him when he was with the Ravens,
but everyone seems to like think he's a likable guy.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
He actually looks cool, he does. And I never thought
that he that he looked cool with the Ravens. I
get no point. I don't know why, but he actually
kind of looked cool.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
The others were cool around him. Now he looks cool
over in Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Maybe it's the haircut. I don't know. I got a
haircut last month. Completely awful. It is. It is atrocious.
It is so bad. It is so bad that I
said to myself when I got it, because I just
went to somebody new and they didn't know, and I
will never go back. I won't say who it is,
but I thought, how bad can it really be?
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (05:21):
And it three weeks later, a month later, It's awful.
It's a complete mess. Joe Flacco looks pretty sharp. This
is Joe Flacco talking about those Cleveland fans chanting his
name last night.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
It's cool. I mean, just put yourself in that position.
I mean, you can't deny it.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
It was.
Speaker 7 (05:37):
I said it from the very beginning. I mean, the
city has been unbelievable. Our my teammates have been unbelievable,
like in terms of just embracing me onto this football team.
So it's all been great and it makes it that
much more special to, you know, be able to come
in here and play some good football.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
The Browns being a team that nobody wants to face.
Ravens don't want to face because you have the Division ties.
Their defense is legit is.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Real legit and so, and it has been the whole
season was it's not just now there's been you know,
that's what's held them this entire season without a healthy quarterback.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
And when you look at what happened on offense, and
this is what you know, they put up thirty seven
points last night. There's some saying that the Jets defense quit,
that that this was over. That may may have been
the case. Brown's also forcing turnovers by the way, scoring
you know, scoring defensively, Ronnie Hickman, you're returning you know,
an I t for a touchdown. So the Cleveland did
(06:32):
it a bunch of different ways. But you also have
to remember that this is a game where you obviously
are on your fourth string quarterback, even though he's not
playing like a fourth string quarterback. You've lost Nick Chubb
since Week two, which has been documented. They also played
last night with Altomari Cooper and then lost Elijah Moore
to a scary injury in the first half. And then
(06:56):
they just they continued to roll after that and continue
to make plays and David and Joku, you know, ends
up emerging. Is quite the target is it is so
unique and it is such a team sort of aspect
because it is everyone listen, There's very few people, if anybody,
and I don't even think that there is that that
can match what Miles Garrett does on defense. And they've
(07:16):
got a lot of players on defense. But when you
look at that team offensively, their line has always been good,
but their line is also they've gone through not one,
not two, but three tackles this season, so they've lost
that and they've still been able to put it together.
It truly is one of the best stories that we've
seen in the NFL, not just this season but also
in recent memory.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
And also just because of the way this season started
for the Browns, right, Like a lot of people weren't
rooting for the Browns correct.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Because of Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
And I think even before Deshaun Watson, I feel like
the Browns weren't liked a lot because.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Of Baker Mayfield. Because people don't like Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
So it's been a couple of years where I think
a lot of people have hated on the Browns.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
I think, I think, and I'll I'll push back on
the hatred of the Browns because they were such a
story even when they were losing, and so when they're
when Hugh Jackson is there and they're Owen sixteen and
they're one and fifteen and they you know, they win
the one game. In the two years, we still are
talking about them, and honestly, I think that we've talked
(08:18):
about them for a decade because it was Johnny Manziel, right,
and you know what's happening with the Browns and who
they're gonna find is their quarterback? And then yeah, they
get the number one overall pick, and there were a
lot of different options that they could have selected at
that time. Looking back on it, it probably didn't make
the right one because you have Josh Allen and Lamar
Jackson in the same draft class, but Sam Darnold was
(08:40):
considered a top quarterback at that point. Instead, they go,
we're gonna take Baker Mayfield. They go to the playoffs
with Baker and it's this rags to riches story, and
I think people like that, and then it just completely
turned sour with Baker. And Baker's already always been a
polarizing guy anyway, from his days at Oklahoma and winning
the Huysmand Trophy. But I still think that they were
a story when Deshaun Watson came there, they became toxic
(09:02):
because of his situation because Cleveland gives him the guaranteed contract.
I mean, heck, other NFL teams didn't like him. It
really was a bad situation in Cleveland, as opposed to
I think them being an interesting narrative even though they
were losing.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Good point.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
I agree with you, You're right, they were just we
were talking about them for different reasons. This time it
was something toxic. I like how you put that. I
just was like, the Browns have been a topic of
conversation non stock, non stopped for various reasons, and like
again Baker Mayfield, Johnny Montsell, people have their opinions about them,
which then goes to their team. But here they are.
Here they are a team that all of a sudden
(09:37):
people are rooting for and are scared of.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
I like it because I'm into it.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
And it's different than the Buffalo Bills because we had
expectations for the Bills.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
It's good.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
The Bills have always been in the conversation, and it's
the Deshaun Watson thing is is a real thing of
it just turned a lot of people off on it,
on the team and it completely was a one to
eighty for how we handled them. But I go back
to that Sunday that I was talking about in the
red Zone radio when they beat the forty nine ers,
(10:11):
and I owe an apology. I guess too. I think
it's my second apology to the Twitter person whoever, whoever
came out to me and said, quit talking about the
Niners loss, talk about the Browns. They won the game
and it was the Niners first loss of the season,
and I, you know, I went down a rant and
said out, you know, nobody wanted to talk about Cleveland.
No one has been talking about Cleveland. All we talked
(10:32):
about is the San Francisco forty nine ers, which by
the way, did continue throughout the season. We continued to
talk about the San Francisco forty nine ers. But that
was a statement win. Now, if Jake Moody makes the
field goal, it's a twenty to nineteen nine Ers win.
But he didn't, and the Browns won that game. And
when you look back at that game and you look
back at how the rest of the season played out,
they have an argument that maybe they should have beat Seattle.
(10:53):
The Seattle scored a late touchdown, there was a questionable
call on a DK and non call on a DK
metcalf holding. The point is is clear Eveland. Cleveland was
sitting there wanting to be a part of the conversation,
and idiots like me were just not noticing. I was
noticing their defense. But they when they stopped the Bengals
early in the season, guess what it was because of
Joe Burrow's cast.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
There was always it's because of this, Yes, it's because
of this.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
They keep the Titans in check. Well, guess what the
Derrick Henry era is over in Nashville. It's not gonna
like So I'm saying those things, and I'm making other
reasons on why the Browns are doing what they're doing
and not fully appreciating what they're doing. That forty nine
Ers win, you know, ended up changing things. And then
they have a huge win against the Ravens. They beat
(11:36):
the Steelers, and no matter how good or bad the
Steelers are, anytime you beat the Steelers, it's a you know,
it's a heck of a it's a good win for
your organization. And now you're going into the playoffs and
you're on a four game win streak. Yeah, they deserve
the flowers. The Browns deserve their flowers.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
They do, and I'm not gonna lie to you. All
I can think about though at this point, is the future.
Like if Joe Flacco takes them far in the playoffs,
Let's say they make it.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
To the super Bowl, what do the Browns do.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
I know that they're in a very awful situation contract
wise with Deshaun Watson, but what do you do?
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Deshaun Watson is still your starting quarterback.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
He's still your starting quarterback.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yes, not only because of the financial commitment. You have
to see it through in what he would be if
he was completely healthy. And I think that there this
would allow Kevin Stefanski and the coaching staff to say
this is this is what this is what we want
and I think Deshaun can provide that. I think DeShawn
(12:36):
can do that. I think there's there is a lot
on his shouldersn't love what Deshaun Watson. Didn't like what
Deshaun Watson did, But now if we're talking in football aspect,
I think that he's still your starting quarterback and you
just show him, hey, this is what Joe Flacco did.
Because honestly, Joe Flacco is not their long term answer. Sure,
you know, I think that there is a little lightning
in a bottle here, But Deshaun Watson still would be
(12:59):
your starting quarterback twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I mean, Deshaun didn't look great. I know he hadn't
played in a long time. But it's like the injuries
for next year. You just I'm already thinking about what
they do in the future, because it's not it's just
like crazy what they're going through right now.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
If they make it to the Super Bowl, that's going
to be the conversation.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
That is going to be the conversation.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah, you know, but he'd also, by the way, it's
done on a contract with the Joe put it this way,
if they were to go and win a Super Bowl,
this sounds crazy. If I'm Joe Flacco, I'm like, see
you right, yeah, yeah, Like I'm going out as a winner.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
You know.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
I saw Ray Lewis do it with the Ravens, and
I am doing that myself. Peyton Manning did it with
the Broncos. That's what I'm gonna do. So if it
went that far for Joe Flacco and the Brons, the
Brons may not even have to worry about making the
decision I think Flacco would probably just hanging up then
and be like, I'm.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Good, and then I'm a Hall of Famer. Thank you.
That's what he would say. That's all he would say.
I won Hall of Famer. Put me in, Put me in.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Jason Stewart is our executive producer. Did you have some
did you say?
Speaker 8 (14:00):
Is is Nick Foles kind of the comp in the
situation leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl with Wentz
under contract the next year? Well, how did that play
out exactly going into the following season. Was Wentz still
injured or something there?
Speaker 2 (14:16):
He was coming back off the ACL You know. It's funny.
The thing that I remember is we had Doug Peterson
on a show because he wrote a book. Because when
he won a Super Bowl, you immediately read a book.
We were not allowed to ask about the quarterbacking situation.
We were told that beforehand, don't ask about the quarterbacking situation.
And just off hand, I don't remember the situation when
you said the Nick Foles cop, you know, Joe Flack
(14:38):
was a much better quarterback. I think you're talking about
the situation of him, yeah, of him leading in Yeah,
different situation because Wentz was still young. As well, and
Wentz was on his way to an MVP season before
he was hurt, so a little bit different there. But yeah, decision,
but a decision that I think Joe Flacca would make
for the Brons.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Themselves, right, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Mean if I got at a really good career. I mean,
he's the definition, He's the Dictionary definition of betting on himself.
And he cashed in on the Super Bowl, and you know,
the rest is history. But here we are eleven years later,
and maybe Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Is in their future later.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, super Bowl forty seven and they beat the Niners. Wow,
it's people think we're gonna have a Ravens Niners rematch.
Maybe we'll just have a Flacco Niners rematch.
Speaker 9 (15:26):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Doug
Gottlieb Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on

Speaker 2 (15:36):

sports Person of the Year, we're doing a different angle
(15:56):
on it. Four nominees, and it'd be nice if I
could actually type one of the nine nominees' names correctly.
I got JD. Bayals wrong. I put JD. Bates, but
it's JD. Bails. He's one of our four nominees for
Sportsperson of the Year. JD. Bayales was the soccer coach
in Texas who charged fifty four hundred dollars worth of merchandise. No,
(16:19):
I guess charged fifty four hundred dollars at a strip
club in Houston. Meant services there, it is. That's That's
the better way of putting it, and then tried to
say that he was a victim of fraud. Overwhelming Evidence
was my favorite from the New York Daily News. Overwhelming
evidence proved it wasn't fraud. So JD. Bails, Yes, got
in big time trouble. He is one of our nominees.
(16:41):
Josiah Zakruski is in Australian ultra marathon runner who used
a car to finish one of her marathons. She is
also a nominee. On Meet Patel was the Jaguars employee
who many tabbed is the worst gambler ever. He is
a nominee and right now in second place with twenty
one point seven percent of the vote. The overwhelming leader
(17:01):
right now Dom Desandro big Dom from the Philadelphia Eagles,
who got removed from the sidelines after he got into
it with dra Greenlaw of the forty nine ers. So
those are four nominees for sports Person of the Year.
And when you see again, if you want to vote
for JD. Bails and you see JD Bates, that counts too.
I just did not subscribe to the blue check mark,
so I can't edit the tweet, and I'm not going
(17:22):
to start now. You can see the descriptions on my
tweet at Dan Byron Fox.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
J D is JD.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yes, yeah, JD, JD JD. I forgot. I got to
log into my Blue Sky account. See Where'm Adams the
other one. I was up to eight followers blue Sky.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Dan Baier, quadruple your number.
Speaker 10 (17:39):
Your Blue Sky followers are heading for the stratosphere.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
I'll check in at some point. I'm curious We're going
to check in with our buddy Bill Krackenberger right now
that you can hear Sunday Mornings right here on Fox
Sports Radio alongside Brian No and Jeff Schwartz on Countdown
to Kickoff, presented by bet MGM. Happy New York Crack.
How are you hey?
Speaker 5 (17:58):
How are we doing? Guys to speaking to the stratus
where I was just there last night, believe it or not?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Nice? Nice? How are things at the Stratosphere?
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Look a good number? They have a restaurant called Top
of the World, which is a revolving restaurant around the
top of this It's really cool.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Really cool something to check out. Maybe in a couple
of weeks when they're there for the Super Bowl. For sure.
We'll see if the Lions and Cowboys can make their
way Lions or Cowboys to the Super Bowl. They play
on Saturday night. Let's start their crack with Week seventeen,
Lions clinching the NFC North. Do they still have something
to play for? They're five and a half point underdogs.
How do you think? How do you see things going
(18:33):
down in Dallas?
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Dallas opened up as a six point favorite quickly the
underdog down Detroit was bent down to the four and
a half in here in Vegas a couple fives five
and a half, but the Sharper sportsbooks are definitely taking
Detroit money. Listen, both of these teams were in my
top ten strong Power ratings throughout the year. They both
(18:55):
dropped out. Even Detroit dropped out. They were like number
five and number four one time. I just have seen
some weaknesses in both teams. It seems like they, especially
Dallas except for the Philadelphia game, they really can't beat
stronger teams. It seems like I want them to win
because I have them to actually win the NFC. So
(19:15):
I do want them to win. I have a pretty
large bet on them, but I just don't think I'm
going to get there with that. I think there's some
other stronger teams. But this particular game, it's our Saturday
night primetime game. So I understand why everyone has to
have a bet on a game. I try to always,
you know, I promote responsible gambling. Don't have a bet
just because it's on TV. Try to tell my guys
(19:37):
that from like New York and South Philly, they don't
have to have a bet when the game's not sure.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
If you don't. If you don't have a bet, then
the game doesn't matter, doesn't It didn't even happen. That's
basically they thinking, right, Yeah, but there's a full set
of games coming up on Sunday though. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
On Sunday, the Raiders and the Colts both are fighting
for different things. Colts are still in trying to win
the division, Raiders slim.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
Chance of getting to the playoffs, but it's still there.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
But also Antonio Pierce, you know, trying to get his
team to win another one and Indiana or yeah, the
Colts are favored for three and a half.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
How do you like that one?
Speaker 5 (20:11):
Oh? Good? This is actually a great question, great game
to bring up, because you know, I really felt good
for Peers. He was he couldn't even be interviewed after
the game. He had tears in his eyes. And there's
just something that gets to me. Maybe growing up with
an old fashioned Italian mother was always so sensitive. I
feel bad for I felt bad. I was so happy
for him that I really now I'm going to be
(20:31):
rooting for Vegas because I have no allegiance. By the way,
so none of these seems mean nothing to me. When
the game's over, I don't care, my allegiance to my
bank roll. That's it. So but I did feel good
for him, for Peers and the Raiders, and I live
in Las Vegas, so I should feel good for the
home team there. I'm surprised that Indianapolis got hit again.
This game was down to three and then there was
(20:52):
some money on India and now sitting at a solid
three and a half here, I thought Vegas would play
them a little bit closer. Maybe they play for Peers,
maybe they play for their slim chance and they trust
but they have a real tiny chance to actually getting
the playoffs. Indianapolis playing for the playoff life. But you know, whenever,
these must win teams, and I'll say Indy is more
of the must win than Las Vegas here where I
(21:14):
love betting on the teams that play spoiler. I love
betting on the opposite side. Especially Week eighteen, You'll find
some of these teams that love to play spoiler, and
you'll get if you're betting those must win teams. Like
Joe Public loves to bet, they're going to pay a
tax by betting those teams, and at taxes in the
form of an extra half point sometimes. So I'm looking
(21:37):
to be on the bookmaker side, looking to take the
underdogs in that situation. Not that this game is that
standoutish type of game, but Indy will definitely be playing
harder or trying to play harder to get in Las Vegas.
Knows it has a little bit of a chance, But
I lean to the dog in those situations.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Bill Krachenberger joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. She's
Monty Blanios. I'm Dan Byer sitting in for Doug Gottlieby
on the Doug Gottlieb Show. You can hear Crack every
Sunday morning with Jeff Schwartz and Brian though on Countdown
to Kickoff presented by Bett MGM. One of those marquee
games is Dolphins and Baltimore in Baltimore. Ravens coming off
of that huge win against the Niners. Dolphins coming off
(22:17):
of a pretty big win against the Dallas Cowboys, but
one team had to travel across the country on shorter rest.
Does that play into anything in this big AFC matchup?
Speaker 5 (22:26):
Yeah. This game's at ten o'clock in the morning, Vegas
time on Sunday, and this is one of the games
of the day. Baltimore, Miami and after Baltimore basically just
won their own Super Bowl last week for a San France,
I actually looked for a letdown in this game a
little bit. I look to take the dog some three
and a half's out there which were gobbled up earlier.
Up until yesterday, someone bet, and I say someone, a
(22:48):
syndicate group of sports betting Sindica group bet Baltimore knocked
it back up to three and a half. But I'll
tell you any given Sunday, anything can happen in the NFL.
I looked for Miami to actually stay close in this
game and maybe even get a win. And after a
Baltimore situation, Like I said, they played a big game
last week, one of the best teams in football. And
you know, you see Jackson now as the favorite to
(23:10):
win the MVP. Great, great quarterback negotiating negotiate himself a
fantastic contract by himself this year. And I know it's
going to be a look ahead game to me. I'm
looking forward to see this game. But I am I am.
I have admite a small bet on Miami plus three
and a half. I don't do a lot of sides.
I'm more of a total guy. I like to got totals.
(23:31):
I think it's an easier thing to beat. There's so
many eyes on the NFL from all different media sources.
It's a very very hard thing to beat, especially the
day of the game. You know, I have a crack
challenge up there at my co host on Sundays where
they pick a game ten minutes before they picked five
games against the spread. That's how hard it is to be.
That's the most efficient line there is. Put it this way.
(23:51):
The sportsbooks on Monday morning, they'll take five thousand dollars max,
better even three thousand max bet day of the game.
Whatever you can carry to counter it'll take a million dollars.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeap, that is not me.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
All right.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
I got one last one for you, since we're talking
about over unders. Carolina is coming off of a week
where they put thirty up against green Bay. Jacksonville's got
a quarterbacking situation that's only a thirty seven and a half.
That seems very low to me in this matchup that
they play in Jacksonville. What about this Panthers Jags game?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Yeah, you know this, this game opened up. This is
one of those games that opened up at six and
thirty seven and a half. And still sits at six
and thirty seven and a half. Not a lot of action,
not a lot of eyeballs on a Carolina game. The
other team that would love to play spoiler is Carolina,
by the way, And you know, we're always around this
time of the year, always one of these alcohols and
(24:44):
garbage quote unquote teams always kind of step it up
and win a couple in a row. In Carolina being
the worst team in the NFL, they might be that
team that steps it up here. So I'm looking to
really stay off the side there. And you know what,
when I see it grind out a game, even though
it's a thirty seven and a half thirty eight line,
they've been staying under. I lean to the under in
(25:06):
that game, and I didn't bet it. But however, I
noticed this year, compared to previous years, we're down about
four points at line games. What that means is years ago,
this game would have been lined at like forty one
and a half. Now it's thirty seven and a half
and the games are still remaining under. It's been an
underseason the whole entire season, and it's just especially primetime games.
(25:29):
But yeah, I lean to the under in.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
That one all right, before we let you go, what
is your favorite total play of the week in Week seventeen.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
You know, I bet something that's against everyone else and
Anderson this quarterback situation in this Minnesota game, but green
Bay seems to be scoring a lot every week. This
linees up to forty seven down to forty three and
a half because of the quarterback situation there. I like
the over forty three and a half still widely available.
I think a lot of points there. A primetime green
(25:55):
Bay will put up a lot of them. I do
lean green Bay in the game too, but I definitely
like the game.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Bill. Happy New Year, We appreciate the insight. We will
be listening to you guys on New Year's Eve. We'll
talk to again soon. Thanks so much.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Happy here everybody.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
To find out Bill Krackenberger, find him on x formerly
known as Twitter at crack crack Man at Bill Crackman.
That is Countdown to Kickoff presented by bet MGM with
Crack with Jeff Schwartz with Brian No every Sunday here
on Fox Sports Radio, and in fact it's every Saturday
and Sunday because Brian rich Ornberger and Jared Smith have
(26:29):
you covered for all of the college action that ends
up breaking down, plus any NFL action like we have
the Lines and Cowboys this week. That's three hours before kickoff.
Countdown to Kickoff presented by bet MGM. You can listen
to it weekend morning's beginning at nine Eastern on Saturdays,
again ten o'clock Eastern time on Sundays right here on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
Did you Bill makes me want to bet?
Speaker 3 (26:52):
He makes me want to bet, and I like, don't
because I'm scared. It's just like I don't want to
get I don't want to get into it. It sounds
like so fun and then at the same time so dangerous.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
There's and and I am. I am. I'm not a
professional gambler by any means. I wouldn't even call myself
an amateur gambler. And I think, like so many of us,
now we're learning more and more about it. Yeah, I
did have a little understanding of it. But what I
think is interesting when you hear Krack talking even just
mention that they're I love football, and I think what
happens is there are so many people like you and
(27:22):
me that love football and feel that well we know
that team is going to win that game, well that
there's no way that team's going to go win that game,
and so we think that we know, and so we're
going to pick. Well, then you throw lines in it,
and it's obviously a little different story. But what Crack
says here is because I don't pick sides, huh, because
I look at the totals and so he's betting over
(27:43):
unders and that's where he is making his bread. So
it isn't just you know, there's just there's so many
different levels to it. And the obviously, if we had
more time and if you you know, spend an hour
with him, you know, you'd you know, tell you so
much more about the betting world. But it's just something
as simple of that as you know. And I'm asking him, hey,
do you like, you know, are the Lions coming in?
You know, are the Dolphins going to be you know
(28:04):
ready for this you know road game that they have,
And he's more focused on the totals, which is interesting, right.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
He takes like a very logical approach to it with betting,
and like you say, it's not just picking the team.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
He's like, I'm not even looking at it.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
I'm looking at this other stuff, and it's like, huh,
like I'm over here looking at this Packers Vikings and
you only okay, you like the over Okay, maybe all.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Okay, yeah, maybe I'll get into that as opposed to
the people that you're looking at me, Jason Stewart, Isaac Lowencron,
all of us with our illogical bets, with that.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
We have, yes, emotional bets we have then we have made.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Oh there's no way they're gonna go and final score.
Speaker 9 (28:38):

five minutes ago make Lebron James the first player ever
to reach twenty All Star Games vote now for the King.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Well, obviously he's gonna go to the All Star Game. Obviously,
even if he doesn't make it, he's gonna be there, right,
come on, everybody.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
He's I always say, exercise your vote NBA fan voting.
I don't think you have to sweat about it. I
think he's gonna be there.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
He will be there no matter what.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
I think.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
All NBA fans, even like the ones that are like
I don't like Lebron are God, be like, he should
be there.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
He needs to be there. He has to be at
this point.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Yeah, there's there's when he's retired del v.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, they'll be like it'll be like when you're in
high school and you go back to play against the alumni,
like alumni and fresh It'll be like an alumni game.
And then, well it would not surprise me if that
actually becomes a thing.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Hold on a second. Can you imagine Lebron starts doing
that for the All Star Game once he retires, and he.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Brings in Dwayne Wade and like all of his buddies
and then they have to play the All Stars.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
I don't think that he would bring in his buddies.
I think he just they just bring in. He'd just
come in. He just kind of game, which, by the way,
wouldn't be a bad idea to make the game, you know,
because Adam Silver in the NBA are trying to figure
out ways to make it more competitive. Yes, going back
to the East West portion of it. Uh, they've thought about,
(30:33):
you know, us against the world a lot of different
different thoughts and how to make it interesting because the
player draft hasn't necessarily caught on. But yeah, once Lebron
James retires, do you know that years and years ago,
they would have an old timers game.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yes, I knew it was like a thing, but it
wasn't against current players against each other.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Yeah, old players. Yes, they were like eighteen ruptured achilles
in the game, you know, like it was just and
then then then they replaced it essentially with you know,
the rookies and sophomores and that. But there was a
time where it was the old timers game. These old
guys would go up and down the court and play. Yeah,
those are the good old days. Today's show is brought
to you by Progressive Insurance. I just told you that
(31:14):
let's play a game.
Speaker 9 (31:20):
This is game time on the Doug Gottlieb show.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
Isaacs here on this Friday. Hello Isaac.
Speaker 10 (31:32):
From looking back at the old timers game to looking
forward to the future.
Speaker 9 (31:36):
Psychic.
Speaker 10 (31:37):
All right, okay, psychics. Will the Los Angeles Chargers head
coach next season? B James Joseph Harbaugh?
Speaker 2 (31:53):
I think so?
Speaker 4 (31:54):
You think so?
Speaker 2 (31:55):
I think so. I think that there is really something there.
I know that Harbaugh in the past. I mean, he
interviewed for the excuse me, for the Vikings job.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
He's chugging, he's fine, he's fine, he's dying.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
But he's gonna be there. He's gonna be there. He's
gonna be the Chargers coach. I'll get to my point later.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
You know, weeks ago when this first started, and it
wasn't with the Chargers, but when it first came out,
oh maybe harvaugh was gonna go back to the NFL.
I just was like, why would you leave a good
thing in Michigan?
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Why why would he want to leave a good thing.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Now I'm starting to maybe feel like he could come
to the NFL, but the Chargers. The only reason I'm
hesitant and I want to say no is because of
Chargers ownership. I don't know if he wants to deal
with that unless they're going to change the way they've
been running.
Speaker 4 (32:42):
The organization, in which that could happen.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
But if they're not, I don't see how Harbaugh would
want to put himself in that position.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
I think they've they've said they'd be open to paying.
You're also looking for a new general manager, which did
a lot of Harbaugh a lot more say remember Minnesota,
they already had their GM in place, so they're you know,
they're that and anything get the job. It wasn't that
he facked out of it. They didn't hire him, But
this is I think this would be his golden opportunity.
And I think I think his comments at Disneyland that
(33:09):
you played the other day, Isaac, I think we're very telling, yes,
because he just didn't address it, was just talking about
the day and.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Also not signing his new contract that is being offered.
That's also telling, you know, And I get it. Justin
Herbert is attractive, La is attractive. Just the one thing
to me, the ownership is not attractive. But I'm telling
you weeks spot, I was like, no way. Now I'm like, okay, Crystal, Well,
maybe is telling me otherwise.
Speaker 10 (33:37):
Speaking of Justin Herbert being attractive. This is a personal opinion.
I think the world of him as a quarterback, but
I just don't get the mangy long hair. Look, that's
just me anyway, I get it. Maybe a next question
for psychic will justin Herbert.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
I'd wear my hair in a bun for the rest
of my life if I could play quarterbacks.
Speaker 10 (33:56):
Okay, the old start.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Just let me Dan Bun.
Speaker 10 (34:01):
There used to be a player back in the day
for the forty nine Ers named Dan Buns.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Right, that does sound familiar. Great? Great? Actually, you know what,
I'll go a step further. Yeah, I would wear my
current haircut for the rest of my life. That's that's
all bad.
Speaker 10 (34:16):
No, really better than rich Wrenberger is Well, that's a that's.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
I saw.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
I saw.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
That's so funny.
Speaker 10 (34:26):
We'll explore that when he's in here tomorrow. All right,
along those lines, where will present New England Patriots head
coach and man who reads Machiavelli to relax Bill Belichick be.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Next year, I'm gonna say, is the head coach of
the New England Patriots.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Yeah, that's that's what my gut has been saying all
the entire time. I don't think he's going anywhere.
Speaker 10 (34:49):
Okay, fair enough, you.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Give him the opportunity with this quarterback. That's that's what
I think that they're going to do despite all of
them words. Yeah, for the sake of this, we'll just
say back with the Patriots. Okay.
Speaker 10 (35:03):
Along those lines, perhaps where will Russell Carrington Wilson be
next year?
Speaker 3 (35:11):
That's an interesting one because honestly, there could be a
lot of places.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
But I think location matters.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
I'm gonna throw.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Out the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 10 (35:19):
Hmmm.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
Interesting, Okay, I think location matters.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
Zero be like Atlanta, Atlanta, let's go there.
Speaker 10 (35:26):
Division matters too.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah, that that is a very good question and one
that I've been thinking about because I hadn't even brought
up in my head. What about if you went back
to Seattle? What about like a lesser, lesser price?
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Oh wow?
Speaker 2 (35:43):
And Isaac's response was the exact response all Seahawks fans
had when that topic came up on message boards. Nobody
wanted nobody, nobody wants it at all, not a zero
but a little bit. No, I need not say that. Okay,
I did not say that. I'm going to say this
New Orleans.
Speaker 10 (36:04):
New Orleans, Okay, Okay, interesting, New Orleans the same same
division in the NFC South. All right, So the NFL
just had an extremely successful Christmas Day in terms of
having its three games having incredible ratings. So the rumors are,
all right, Well, Christmas Day twenty twenty four, when Christmas
(36:28):
is on a Wednesday, would the NBA try to take
excuse me, the NFL try to take over Christmas Day
twenty twenty four even though it's on a Wednesday. So
will the NFL try and schedule it that way and
maybe put two or three games on Christmas next year
even though it's a Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Psychics, I'm gonna I'm gonna cheat a little here, and
I'm gonna say no.
Speaker 5 (36:48):
You say no.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Yeah, there was a report about a week or two
ago that the NFL spokesperson Touild Front Office Sports that
they don't plan on it. So I'm gonna say no.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
I'm going to say, how do you not after the
success of this year?
Speaker 2 (37:02):
You can't. It would just mess up your schedule too
close to the playoffs. You can't give a bye in
week fifteen or sixteen either to make it work. So
I mean, I know that it's a bye is in
the week fourteen.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
But yeah, you just think because it's Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Yeah, I think it works, and that's game time. This
is game time on the god Lead, although if you
do give a buye in week fifteen, you could make
it work. She's Monzi, I'm Dan. The Vikings Future and
our sits next
