play at Farmers dot Com are Farmers. The NFL Draft
is tonight. We will get to what Russell Westbrook has

(00:51):
said about his matchup and their losses to Damian Lillard's
Portland Trailblazers. That's new news, new information. Will get to
it this hour plus. Last night, the Golden State Warriors
failed to show up defensively and couldn't close out the
l A Clippers, despite the fact that Kevin Durant had
forty five points, couldn't stop Lou Williams down the stretch

(01:13):
and the Clips force a game six in the best
of seven series to decide who gets the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets survived the Utah Jazz at home, and they
move on to catch the winner. So a lot of
hoop going on baseball going on. A baseball game yesterday
lasted less than two hours. Is that a good thing
or a bad thing? We'll get that, but let's start. Um.

(01:39):
Let's let's start with the NFL draft. Now. Now, look,
I think there's a good chance Kyler Murray's going number
one overall. We'll talk about a little later on the show. Um.
I said yesterday, I'll say it again. It feels like
they're doing the George Costanza opposite of what everybody else

(02:00):
would do in this situation. They fired a first year
head coach, they fired two offensive coordinators, and despite the
fact that their roster didn't have a good offensive line,
they're now looking at jettisoning their rookie soon to be
second year quarterback. Like these are things that you don't

(02:23):
Consistency rules the day, and plenty of quarterbacks who are
thought to be stars as long as there's not a
management change, there hasn't been a management change, same same
GM get to dig out of their first year blues.
But I think that the Josh Rosen thing is fascinating.

(02:43):
Fascinating we told I told you last year that I've
done a ton of research on quarterbacks, talked to several
different NFL g ms and they all came away with
a sense of the same thing. Everybody likes Josh Rosen.
Nobody loves him. Whether you hear people say, hey, you

(03:04):
know he's a tennis player, because tennis players are seen
as country club kids are seen as spoiled, are seen
as solo acts, are seen as arrogant, or you get
guys that you know is is mom's a doctor and
you know if his he gets with a concussion, will
he quit? They question is fortitude, they question is toughness.

(03:26):
Basically they question is leadership and they say nobody loves him.
Guys won't get behind him. So I wasn't in love
or enamored with Josh Rosen. But did you watch jos
Rosen play? Did you watch him play against Sam and Donald?
Rosen looked like the pro quarterback. Donald looked like the

(03:46):
guy who may someday be a pro. Now Sam has
better leadership skills, is more athletic, has a thicker bill,
doesn't have the injury history, and had I thought a
pretty good year considering that liked the Cardinals. They were
devoid and even more so than the Cardinals, devoid of
talent to help him as a rookie. That said, one

(04:09):
of the among the things that have hurt Josh Rosen
is people think he's too smart for his own good.
He said something last year. He said, I'd rather be
a lower pick at the right team than a higher
pick at the wrong team. He said that last year
at this very time. That's what he said last year,

(04:34):
at this very time, he said, I'd rather be a
lower pick at the for the right team than a
higher pick for the wrong team. And you know what happened.
Drew Lock said the exact same thing. Actually, Drew Lock said,
I would rather sit behind a guy like Tom Brady
and learn that I would go to the wrong team

(04:55):
earlier on and start right away. And if you think
ink those aren't words of wisdom, can I give you
a case study Josh Rosen. Josh Rosen predicted Josh Rosen's
own demise. Now do I think his lack of leadership
skills have heard him, Sure, do I think the fact

(05:17):
they changed coaches who change his vision, and he wants
a more college system, more of an athletic quarterback, and
being from Texas, he's not into the so cow thing.
He's more into the Texas thing. And he watched Kyler
Murray and recruited Kyler Murray when he was at Texas Tech. Sure,
but at the end of the day, Josh Rosen went
to a general manager who's changed his mind several times

(05:40):
over an organization that is completely dysfunctional, a team that
has been built the wrong way from the outside in,
not the inside out. And instead of going later on
in the first round of the draft or going to
the right team, he went at the right time to
then team. Had Rosen gone to the Baltimore Ravens behind

(06:09):
a good offensive line, it could have replaced Joe Flacco.
Had Rosen gone to any team selecting a quarterback beyond
the Jets, you know the Brown's decent offensive line. But
instead he goes to a team with a bad offensive line,

(06:30):
with a first year head coach, with two first time
play callers, and a general manager that changed his mind
within the first five minutes. Of the decision that was made.
Rosen predicted Rosen's own doom, and they're both right and looked.
I ripped Rosen for it, not because he thought it,
but because you can't say it at The problem with

(06:52):
Rosen isn't what he thinks, it's what he says. You
have to say all the right things when you're being
built as a guy who could be number one pick
and people think of you as entitled. So I look,
I think Rosen has bit his tongue for the most
part and done a really good job in a really

(07:13):
bad situation. But can we all agree he's in a
really bad situation. The answer is absolutely, Josh Rosen didn't
succeed last year. Do you know who else would have? Nobody? Nobody.
Larry Fitzjaild is not the player he used to be.
Christian Kirk's just a youngster. They had no offensive line,

(07:34):
they had did not have a good scheme, and despite
the fact they had David Johnson, it wasn't like they
could block form or protect. For Rosen, here's a guy
that's been able to read defenses, you know, get out
in this, get back in the shotgun, and pick things apart.
Even at a young age, and he was never able
to do so as they limited his playbook. So Drew

(07:57):
Lock is right, it may not matter because he'll probably
go to somebody who views him as a developmental quarterback.
Josh Rosen was right, but shouldn't have said it, and
Josh Rosen foretold the tale which became Josh Rosen and
that it's not necessarily when you go, it's where you

(08:18):
go and who they think you are. I can tell
you that from wherever I've worked. If somebody doesn't understand
who you are and how you operate and isn't willing
to accept that none of us are perfect. We do
have flaws, and you play up the strengths, and what
are you gonna do? You're you're gonna keep trying to
convince people you're somebody that you're not. Josh Rosen said,

(08:44):
I'd rather be a lower pick at the right team
than a higher pick at the wrong team. He was
a higher pick at the wrong team, and he'll probably
be traded tonight or in the preseason because of it.
We got a lot to get to. Vince Wolford is
gonna join us later on this hour. Um got a
little thought for you on the Warriors last night. Plus,

(09:08):
I believe this is a day of sea change. This
is a day which the NFL is going to change forever.
I'll explain how next. Be sure to catch live editions

This is the Doug Doug Gotlip Show, Fox Sports Radio. Um, look,
I I know there's reason to freak out. If you're

(10:15):
a Golden State or you're fan, it's essentially three on five.
All right, you got three big time scores and not
much else out there. And I do believe they are
in fact vulnerable. But if you go back and you
look at the you look at the bulls, you look
at the bulls under with Michael Jordan's do you guys

(10:40):
know what their home record was in the NBA finals?
Like people people forget that how many NBA Finals they
won on the road. Do you know why they won
them on the road? Because they lost games at home? Right? Like?
That was the remarkable thing about it was home court

(11:02):
advantage was so pronounced, yet they would find ways to
win on the road, but they actually would lose games
at home. So there's cause for concern. And I do
think that they can be had. But look, I watched Houston.
What was a losable game last night? Donovan Mitchell couldn't
buy a bucket, couldn't stop turning the ball over. And

(11:24):
if not for an a Ricky Rubio air ball in
the corner, you know, not for Ricky Rubio airball in
the corner, then what happens? Different series? So I'm not
going to freak out about it all right, Let's uh,
let's let's get to tonight's NFL draft. By the way,

(11:47):
we got incredible coverage, incredible coverage. We have a pre
isn't it a pre draft show by Clay Travis seven
o'clock Eastern, four o'clock Pacific. Clay Travis who Nashville is
where he lives. Clay Travis is going to host that show.
And then at five o'clock Pacific, eight o'clock Eastern time,

(12:08):
we've got an unbelievable draft show which is hosted by
Rob Stone at Jay Glazer, who knows everything, right, got
Joe clatt who knows all the players? Um, who am
I forgetting one more on that? One more on that?
Dais right? Clatt Stone, Jay Glazer, I am I forgetting

(12:32):
Rich Bielman. There you go. So you got Chris Biellmans
not Rick Rick is the GM of the Minnesota Vikings.
That would be an amazing show if he was making picks.
And so we got great coverage. I think tonight is
the night it's going to be a sea change. Now
I just had a discussion with Big Mike. You guys

(12:52):
know what a sea change is actually a Shakespearean term
change brought by the sea, it actually goes back. Um
the idea like this is a and almost change in
thinking from the entire league because in the past people
have talked about offense is not working because they're college offense. Right,

(13:18):
college offense that doesn't work because it's a college offense.
All right, college offense. Huh, Well, we've seen limited college
quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, who who's enact badly inaccurate but
crazy athletic. We've seen him succeed on a limited scale

(13:42):
in the National Football LA. What would happen if you
put the best college quarterback in the best college offense
with the best college offensive coach. That's what the Arizona
Cardinals have done. Look, I'm not gonna tell you the
process has been good and I have no idea if
it works. But but if you don't think that that
drafting a five ft ten quarterback number one overall when

(14:05):
you already have a young quarterback and a college quarterback
who's five ft ten, who is a great runner and
a good thrower as well, with a college coach who
was not a great college coach, that's gonna run a
college offense that has never worked in the NFL, but
has never really been tried long enough to work in
the NFL. If you don't think that's a change in thinking,

(14:28):
you haven't pay attention. We've seen bits and pieces of this,
you know, We've seen things from college offenses r p
o s. Now. Part of the reason r p o
s are not as effective as the quarterbacks don't run
because I can't afford to get him hit. Additionally, and
this is the part that people don't talk enough about.

(14:49):
In college you can block three yards down, three yards
down the field from the line of scrimmage, and the
pros you can only block one yard down the field
from the line of scrimmage. So you can't in college defense,
you can't. You literally cannot tell if somebody's running it
or throwing it based upon the blocking scheme. So the

(15:12):
air raid offense, which doesn't have all r p o
s but does have some of them, with r p
o s, an athletic, undersized quarterback who can run it,
who can throw it, who can make place in and
out of the pocket, and with his legs as well
as with his arm. This is a c and you
you don't do that. You don't do this. None of

(15:33):
this is conventional wisdom. That's because conventional wisdom appears to
be changing. I mean, everything screams to not take, you know,
everything historically tells you screams to not take a five
ft ten quarterback who's a great runner, and he's a

(15:56):
much better thrower, not close to like Lamar Jackson last year,
but also somebody who scored a twenty on the Wonder
Lick as opposed to his his his competitors scored a
higher not looked. It's much higher than Vince Young, It's
higher than Cam Newton. And I'm not trying to sit
there and tell you that he's a dope, but he's
also not. He's not Baker Mayfield as a leader. He's

(16:17):
just not. But what I viewed tonight as as a
sea change this is we've been kind of chasing it
at times with r G three. We've seen it some
with Lamar Jackson. We've seen it some with some of
the coaches that have been hired. Steve Sarkijian, of course,
was hired by the Atlanta Falcons two limited and some

(16:40):
success is hiring college guys. Now, running a college offense
with a college offensive quarterback in the National Football League
is one respect for the uh innovations we've seen in
the college game. And two kind of a change in thinking,

(17:02):
and a change in thinking is exactly what a sea changes. Right.
A sea change denotes a substantial change in perspective, especially
one that affects a group or society at large on
a particular issue. Think about that, that's exactly what this is. Well,

(17:28):
you can't draft a guy who's not six ft tall. Well,
you can't have a college coach who wasn't super successful,
and even a college coach doesn't work. Well, you can't
run the air rate system that doesn't work. Oh, you
can't do this, you can't do that. And the Cardinals
are like, why not? Why don't we shift our perspective?
Why don't we look at the guys who have been
successful instead of chasing bigger quarterbacks simply because they're bigger quarterbacks,

(17:53):
instead of playing traditional systems simply because their traditional systems,
why not try and be the first in the market?
First in does usually work? First in? Does it works
in sports radio? Think you're the sports radio station in
your market that does the best I can almost guarantee

(18:15):
with I can think of one major market, whereas not
through whoever started doing sports radio is probably still number
one twenty years later. I mean, look, even iPhones versus Samsung.
The iPhone was first. The tech people will tell you
it's not better, but because it's first, it became cool

(18:37):
and it changed the market forever. It's this way in
all businesses now. There's a substantial amount of risk in
being too early. One of my former employers tried to
have their own phone. It was before the smartphone came out.
Is that ESPN the phone came out at the same

(18:58):
time as the iPhone. If it was an ESPN iPhone,
you still have them. They'd be amazing. They tried to
They tried to do something the world wasn't ready for
with the equipment that wasn't ready, it wasn't functional, and
they've been off more than they could chew and they
lost a lot of money. That happens, and that may

(19:19):
happen with the with Arizona. Eventually, you're going to get
a team that figures out how to use the college quarterback,
how to use the college offense, how to use the
fact that the cb A doesn't pay these rookie quarterbacks,
so if they get hurt, it doesn't kill you. And
if they get, they succeed, you can put a really
good team around them because they don't make a ton
of money, and that appears to be what the Arizona

(19:41):
Cardinals are trying to do. All right, let's check in
with Dan Buyer. Are you eating carrots? No? No, no,
that won't happen for a while, Well, at least around
this time. I am now prepared, Doug. Hopefully the thirty
two NFL teams are prepared and for the NFL Draft.
It was just two years ago that the San Francisco

(20:03):
forty Niners used the third overall pick on defensive lineman
Solomon Thomas. Well, multiple reports say that Thomas is on
the shopping block, if you will, as he looks to
be dealt from San Francisco forty Niners pick second overall
as of right now, behind Arizona in tonight's selection process,
as you stated earlier covered here on Fox Sports Radio,
starts with the pre draft show at seven Eastern with

(20:25):
Clay Travis and then coverage of the first round at
eight o'clock Eastern time. Jaguars have picked up the fifth
year option of the contract of cornerback Jalen Ramsey in
the NBA first round play Tonight, Games six of the
Western Conference. Nuggets try to close up the Spurs in
San Antonio at eight o'clock Eastern time. Bucks and Celtics
will start their series on Sunday. Buck scarred Malcolm Brogden's

(20:46):
gonna miss the first two games of that series as
he remains out with a foot injury. Despite not making
the playoffs, the Lakers let the entire NBA and merchandise
sales this past season, with Lebron James having the most
popular jersey. The Sacramento Kings and NBA will be can
ducting a joint investigation into the sexual assault allegations made
against Kings head coach Luke Walton. Walton has denied the

(21:06):
allegations through his attorney, who called the claims false. In
Baseball dominicsly the Pirates five nothing in the eighth inning.
Dodgers and Cubs right now scoreless at Wrigley in the
bottom of the fourth. We'll be back to the Doug
Gottlieps show in ten seconds. But first still word from
Farmers at Farmers Insurance. We know every windshield collision has
a unique sound. Beetle bird boop, drone seen it covered it,

(21:29):
Dr Farmers. Farmers under written my Farmers ruck fire insurance
exchanges that affiliates products un available in every state. I'm
not gonna sit here and pretend that we talked about
hockey in the dug Out Lip Show, right, But I
am aware of how the Vegas Golden Knights lost um
to the San Jose Sharks in Game seven. It was

(21:52):
a major penalty call. Now again, like I'm still I
Actually I've kept up with the rules of hockey, like
I've it for years. After they went to four on
four in overtime, I would ask people all the time,
like do you know that hockey goes to four on
four and over time? Like really? And now don't they
go three on three and overtime in the regular season? Yes, yeah,

(22:12):
which is cool and that's how they get the games
over with and that's why you can't take overtime scores
all too seriously. But I did not know, because again,
my my knowledge of hockey comes from the ninety three Kings,
occasionally watching a playoff game and playing in NHL Live
or Blades of Steel as a kid. That's about it.
That's how I know it. Blades of Steel. So what

(22:37):
I what I recall was if you get a penalty
and that there's a short there's a and there's a penalty,
uh a goal, Like I thought the penalty is off
is over? Apparently not if there's a major penalty, right, okay,
so there's a major pain, Like who's a really really
big that you're a very very bad boy. So it is,

(23:00):
I believe the third period, right, it's the third period
and the Golden Knights were taking on the Sharks. They
had a three nothing lead. There was a major penalty
called and the Sharks proceeded to have to score what
three goals or all four during the penalty? Yeah, it was.
They were up three nothing and then yeah, the four
goals all during penalty. And then the NHL came out

(23:24):
today two days later it was like, hey, our bad
shouldn't have been a major penalty, Sorry about that? To
be did we screwed that one up? Sorry about that?
When that's on me, like this is bigger than the NFL,
going like, ah, we might have missed that past and
that's one play and the Saints still had the ball
and the Stains still had the lead. Stains still kicked

(23:45):
the field goal to take the lead. Could have stopped
and then they had the ball in overtime. None of this,
That's not what happened here. They scored four freaking goals
during a major penalty that shouldn't have been scored, should
have been called during the fourth period, third period, whatever.
That kind of seems like a big thing. Dan By,
Am I wrong? It is a big thing, But I
do think, I mean, to score four goals during that

(24:09):
time is pretty absurd. Like I still think that the
Golden Knights need to take some responsibility for for that.
That would be like saying I don't know that the
penalty wasn't called in the you know, like there was
a three touchdown lead in the game that the Saints
had and that the Rams then ended up coming back

(24:31):
from that. Like I think, like one goal, and I
understand that it's still a power play, but their penalty
kills all the time, So kill the penalty even when
you're up three. To kill the penalty, it's five minutes.
I get I get it. Look, I get it, Okay,

(24:53):
I get the puckering up thing. But this is a
big deal. And you know, like hockey fan, you know,
bitter and pissed. They are, uh that no one talks
about them anyway, and then all of a sudden, now
like now the officials and the NH you know, they're
I mean, this is amazing. Yeah, and and the officials
And I didn't put it in the last report, but

(25:14):
the two officials that were on the ice have not
been assigned to any semifinal series by the NHL. And
you may say, oh, well, that's just you know, circumstance. Well,
Dan O'Halleran, who's what was one of the officials, has
officiated more Stanley Cup playoff games than any active referee
of the league. So the league is obviously taking a

(25:36):
stance with that and not having him on the ice.
That's amazing. Like I didn't even know what happened. And
then I walked in yesterday like did you see that?
I was like, I have no idea. I have no idea,
And I'm not it's not distancing. I'm not trying to
be disrespectful to hockey. I just it's funny. My son
and I were watching playoff hockey over the weekend, so
my wife was out of town. She took my daughter

(25:58):
at Oklahoma Daughters on one of my daughters on arake
when the other ones aren't and so she spent Easter
with her family. So we did and we had the
greatest Saturday. Like my other mother daughter, she spent the
night at her friend's house. So that she's thirteen now,
So Dad, I want to sleep in, Dad, I want
to hang out my friends. Like all right, cool. So
we went and we played ball together. Then he took
a tennis lesson. Then we had baseball practice. Then we

(26:18):
had like a little impromptu baseball practice. We had a blast.
We sit down and we're just beat right. We had
a great day of sports growing out together. Um, and
we're watching hockey. He's like, I can't see the puck.
I go, I know, it's hard. And then I explained
to him that Fox used to have the NHL playoffs
and they put the tracer on it. Do you remember
you remember that? By a right, they put the little

(26:40):
tracer on it and it would change color based upon
how hard they hit the puck. And I thought it
was great. And like the hockey guys like you can't
see the puck, watch watch the damn sport, Like, sorry, dude,
can't see it. Didn't grow up understanding the sport. I
thought they actually did a pretty good job of it.
At the time. It's just really hard. It's like, Dad,
I don't know, like I know what a goal is.
I don't really to stand the strategy of it. And

(27:02):
I'm like, all right, we'll turn on basketball, right, We're good.
So I'm not trying to diminish hockey. I'm just it
is where it is in the sports landscape. Amazing in
the playoffs. But I had no idea this level of
butchering of a borderline call took place to change and
then the NHL taken like two days later. This is
one of those like the NFL, and they screwed up

(27:24):
the passenger fence. At least they called right afterwards like, yeah, sorry,
screwed that one up. Anyway. Vince Wilford joints the show.
He was a first round draft pick. Dude, I would
say it was a pretty solid Do you remember what
you were doing the day you were drafted? Were you
at the draft? No? I wasn't at a draft. I know,
BacT what I was doing. I was sitting down in

(27:44):
Miami at this the game stop and I threw a
party to raise money for diabetes, and I was just
sitting there just waiting to get drafted. And that year,
all of us, uh, you know, all of the guys
that was eligible for draft, we kind of did our
own thing and we all decided that we were just
going to stay back and not go to the draft
so we can celebrated with each other at the end
of the night. So and that's exactly what we did.

(28:06):
You know, we got drafted. We set the record with
six in the first round that year. We parted that night.
We enjoyed each other and not from us everybody. I
was gonna be the first one to get Super Bowl
ring and I did my rookie years, so I had
a lot of brag and righting. Still, okay, okay, well
you're in the game. Stop. So that means were you
a uh were you saying a Genesis guy? Were you

(28:27):
PlayStation guy? What do you remember what you were at
the time? No, I mean at the time I was.
I forget what if I think it was? Uh, it
was when playing my first team out, you know. So
we were there and also they had like some bowling
and had some you know, because I had my kids
and there they was bowling and games and a fool

(28:50):
table and stuff. I'm a big time fool player, So
it was just like a big gathering and get get
together slash party, being drafted in braised money to diabetic
because of my my father and it was just a
good old time. You know, something that changed, of course
in my life for the rest of my life. And
this is this is exactly what these guys are going
to go through to night, something that's going to change
their life. I want to, I want to, I want

(29:12):
to talk about you're what you're doing tonight. In a second,
thence will for joining us. Your dad type one or
type two diabetes one UM and now I look, I
know that's that's it's hereditary. But you're born with type one,
you can develop into type two. How much of that
has I mean, I haven't seen you recently, like I mean,
I've seen you on TV a little bit. Is that
Is that something that you want to address in terms

(29:33):
of like your own health heading going healthy? I wanted
to prestand healthy. I'm throwing in the ninety five pounds
right now. So everybody who thought that I was gonna
get out of football and blow up, they all liere.
So I love proven paper Rome, but I'm wanting to
prestand healthy. My kids, my family is one to prestand healthy,
and I'm happy with that. So my life is great, buddy, great. Um. Okay,

(29:55):
here's what we really need to know. When that video
leaked of you dancing while you were cooking, okay, while
you're smoking some meat. What were you cooking? I was
cooking ribs and chicken, my friend, what I'm famous for. Okay,
So you're now you're you're This is important because I
smoke ribs on the weekend as well. Okay, all right,
so so what's how do you how do you do you?

(30:17):
Are you a dry rub guy? And do you wrap
it in foil? Do you go straight to the grill? Like?
What is I mean? You don't have to give away
what's in your rub or what kind of sauce you
have to what's your game? I dry rub, and I
make my own barbecue sauce and I make my own rub.
So I do dry rub. I could do wet rubs,
but I'm mainly dry rub with sauce on the sack

(30:37):
that people love my Okay, So then do you cook
it on both sides for a little bit hot and
then you cool it down and wrap it in foil?
Do you do the foil first? You're going to go
in the grill. What do you do? No, fool is
strictly between two and two and twenty five degrees slow
and low, lower and slow. Baby. Yeah, that's some. That's some.

(30:58):
That's some good. Uh, porker bee fribs. Okay, just I
wanna check. I want to make sure one and no,
I do not for my damn brids. No, I don't
do that. That's that's wrong. That that that's just wrong.
I would I would think less of you as a
man formula in Patriot and Houston, Texans. Vince Wolford joins
us on behalf of bridge Stone, the official tire of
the NFL. Bridge Stone is teaming up with NFL Legends

(31:21):
to showcase the company's home in the city of Nashville
and pay homage to music cities classic style. Nobody has
more classic style than Big Vince Vince Wolffork. So you
work in the red carpet, aren't you night? And yeah,
we're gonna watch Red Corford and we're gonna interview these
guys as they come out. So we're looking forward to that. Uh,
we know what, Like I said, this is this time

(31:41):
of the year for these guys every year. It's specially
because it's a it's a moment in their life is
going to change their life forever. You know, everything that
they're dreamed about being as they were kids, playing a
pop owner, playing whatever. You know, they get a they
get a tim to live it out and be here
in Nashville for the draft. These guys they got butterflies.
They're nervous and they excited. At the same time, the

(32:04):
families are happy. It's gonna be a great, great day.
And I want these guys and just understand and and
experienced this because it's gonna be nothing like this. I
want them to. I want them to be able to
walk away from this and just soak it all in
and be excited about it because at the end of
the day, this is something special in their life and

(32:24):
it's gonna change it. For help, Doug Gottlib show here
on Fox Sports Radio, if you could give and there's
a bunch of defensive linemen who are gonna go tonight,
if you could give those guys one piece of advice, like,
hey man, if somebody would have told me this my
rookie year, it would have really helped me. What would
it be. I would just tell them, you know, prove
all the doubt of wrong, and always find something in

(32:44):
your game that you need to work on. Never set
up for anything, and never be comfortable. And where do
you at? Every year you got to be able to
get better and find something. So I would just tell
them every year work on their craft. Just just find
something to work for one be does every year they
have a draft, so that every year that's somebody that's
whether than you, stronger than smartly, you fast. But you

(33:06):
have to outwork them every day, and don't take each day.
Don't take it by grants, granting. Vince Wolf work. You'll
see him in a custom made suit. I'll bet you.
I'll bet you're gonna be looking good, custom made suit
along with D'Angelo Williams. I'm gonna be sarp now all right, no, no, no,
overall tonight. Oh, just stay tuned, buddy, all right, good enough, alright.

(33:28):
Whether he's cooking ribs, whether he's grilling, cooking ribs, or
whether he's on the red carpet, he's always big. Vince Finnce,
thanks so much for joining us, No problem, thank you.
What about what about you? Uh ramas you grill? You?
Are you a grill guy? I do like grills. I don't.
I'm not as good a griller as what you sound like.
And I know Dan likes to grill too, but Dan,
what it's what's your game? Would you like to grill?

(33:50):
The last thing A grilled were baby backs about a
week or so ago, so usually that or I'll throw
some way. Yeah, but I'm not like Vince. I'm not
low and slow eat. Sorry, I think of that. Austin
powers too big. So there is a problem with boiling ribs. Oh,
because you both of you didn't sound like that was
a good thing to do. Um, no, no, you got it.

(34:11):
You just gotta take your time, like this is a
time sense of My wife tried to do the croc
pot last night for a big piece of like a
pork shoulder, and like we I literally gave it, gave
the leftover's away to a homeless person. She she I
ate it. I was like the world's best husband last night. Right.
I came home and my kids are like, I don't
really like it. Can you make a grilled cheese? And

(34:32):
I was like, no, Mom made it. You guys gotta
eat it. And then eventually she made grilled cheese. Then
she's like, yeah, I didn't really like it that much,
but you ate it. I was like, I didn't like
it either. She's like, why did you eat it? It's
because I'm I'm the husband. I'm supposed to eat when
you cook, like I gotta we gotta be united front here.
I can't say, like you want the garbage, take it out.
You cooked it, you take it out like. I couldn't
do that. But I do have a smoker, and I've

(34:56):
used it and I got game on it. I'm always
a dry rub. I like a I rub. I like
slow and low, low and slow, and I want to
cook it for a long time. Tyr roll, do not boil.

Available to participating locations, plus tax where applicable. Dan Buyer
has been working hard at this TV mock draft. Go Yeah,
TV mock draft. We are going to be drafting the
best characters from NBC's Thursday night must see TV lineup.

(36:22):
So you're gonna have characters from Cheers. Yes, you're gonna
have characters from Oh Yeah, Seinfeld and characters from Friends.
That's our draft board. So the draft order goes John Ramos,
Doug Gottlieb, myself, and Vincent Close. Who's our executive producer today?
So I guess John Ramos is on the clock with

(36:44):
the first overall pick. Dan Doug advance. I'm gonna take
my first pick. I'm not no need to wait. I'm
gonna take Sam Malone from Cheers Show, The Good Time,
A Man, A man, Doug and Dan who gets the
second pick? It's on the draft order. That's uh um oh, Doug. Okay.

(37:08):
So I get any of these characters, any of the
characters that you would like, except Sam Alone, who John
Ramos took number one. I'm going to take who I'm
gonna take George. I'm the bad boy. I've never been
the bad boy, been the bad employee, the bad son,

(37:30):
the bad friend. Yes, yes, the bad fi the bad
didn't guess the bad ris carry. The point is made.
Nick Boo agrees with you. By the way I saw
Nick Va gotta go, Gotta go. George's number one, my
first round pick. I think I feel like I had
a steel You got great value. Were you surprised with
Sam Alone going number one? I was not, because Sam

(37:50):
Alone is the man's man. Former Major League pitcher made
a Malone, who, of course always would have a beautiful
lady by his side, but he was kind of how
helplessly chasing Kirstie Ali, which didn't make any sense to me.
All right, Dan, who's your first pick? My first pick
is used Fera Industries Kramer. I slipped and fell in muff,

(38:13):
ruining the very pats I was about to return. All right,
I actually feel very fortunate to get Kramer this late
in the draft. I thought he was gonna be a
top two pick. All right, let's see here, Vince, you
got you got the first round pick. I am going
wild card here. I'm going with the lane power everything

(38:36):
get well soon. We want you to get well? Yeah,
well get will you want? You? Are you surprised, Doug
that no friends have been Uh? I have. I've been struggling, like,
let's not give it away for the second round. We
got time to whip in the second round. Yes, you
go first, all right. So with my second pick, I'm
going to go wild card again with the hippie of

(38:58):
everybody loves Phoebe. Oh, smelly cats, smellgy cat? What are
they feeding you? Not too bad? I did not think
Phoebe would be the first friend. I did not either,
but I think my okay, there's there's two that jump

(39:18):
out at me for friends. But go ahead, Dan, you're
your your name? Yeah, gosh, this is a tough one.
This is a real tough one. You know what I'm
gonna I'm gonna keep it present. Give me some Ross. Yeah,
I love Ross, fine by Mary, but you were on. Yeah.
I feel fortunate to get Ross. And they think it's

(39:40):
a reach. What a second round pick for Ross? I'm
very happy with I guess I'm missing it. I want
to how do you not get Jerry like I got Jerry? Jerry?
Yesterday I lost a job and then I got another one,
and then I missed a TV show and later on
I re read it, and then today I missed the train,
went outside and called a box. Ever else I always

(40:01):
even out. I actually think sometimes Jerry gets lost in everybody,
even though his names on the show. Yeah great, all right, Romos,
you got time for your your second round pick. I
do have time for my pick, and I think he's
always been the lovable guy from Cheers. I'm gonna take
Woody is my pick. Yes, Mr Malone, this is the
proudest day of my life. And if you ever need

(40:22):
someone to just you know, yell at, I'm your man. Wow.
John Book sends it with Cheers and then yeah you guys,
Seinfeld and Friends. Sandwiched in between the two John Romo's
Cheers picks. We'll come back with our third round picks,
our fourth round picks or fifth round picks. Will see
you as the best. The best line of this is
good stuff. It's great work by you, Dan Buyer buyers

Musty TV TV draft, Musty TV traft. Michael Lombardi is

we we think we we we we tend to think change,

(41:47):
Um happens overnight, all right, Then all of a sudden
you wake up one day and it's changed. I think
you know. Like I've often told people the greatest part
about living in the East Coast, like Connecticut September one,
like the anity you'll just wake up one morning and
the humidity of the summer is gone, and you're like,
falls here, Like wow, that's amazing. But there's usually been
kind of a little bit of a build up to it.

(42:08):
You might not have seen it coming. Um. That's like
when you get your bills and somehow you're like you
get that overdrawn notice. You feel like it's it. I
just I woke up and all of a sudden, I
got no money in account. Like yeah, dude, you've been
spending like this for months and your income hasn't been
the same. It didn't happen overnight. It's not one purchase,

(42:30):
is a series of purchases which have caused you to
be in a bad way financially. We have the potential
for massive change in the NFL tonight. There is old
school conventional wisdom and even new school conventional wisdom. Now, look,

(42:52):
because because these the rookie quarterbacks, they don't get the
massive signing bonuses of the past. If you end up
not hitting on one and it doesn't hurt you as
much as it used to write Sam Bradford fifty million dollars,
that one would really, really really kill you. So you're
so pot committed you have to make it work. You're

(43:14):
willing to take time with it. Now you're like, look,
we drafted a guy number one over. We dropped a
guy in the first round. We're gonna play him, and
we'll play him in the first year because even if
he's bad in the first year, he could be much
better in year two. Happened with Mitch Robinski, happened with

(43:35):
Jared Goff, m Troy Aikman. First year not necessarily indicative
of it, but the Arizona Cardinals are threatening to have
a seat change, to completely change our perspective on what
a quarterback should look like five ft ten, what a

(43:56):
coaching candidate should look like. Just fired by his alma
mater in college Upoll in the Big Twelve, where he
was basically a five hundred coach, and what um and
what a front office should think in terms of their
level of investment in a young quarterback. So I think

(44:21):
this is gonna be a fast day night in addition
to the fact that some of it is based upon personnel,
right Like, the talent in this draft is defensive line,
and with defensive lineman, gone are the days of the
big run stoppers and in our the hybrid players. Everybody
has to be able to get after the quarterback. The

(44:41):
whole thing revolves around the quarterback. You know that the
tight the reason the tight ends like t J. Hockenson
is so valuable is because he can give. He can
block for the quarterback, he can block for the running back,
and he can be the primary outlet, especially on third down.
The NFL for the quarterback not a super talented draft.

(45:07):
A lot of good players, but a lot of guys
have gone pros super early. And this is not a deep,
deep class and star players. So I don't think you'll
see nearly as many guys trading up in the draft.
Trading up. I just don't the quarterbacks are gonna become
overvalued because that's what they do. Can we get back

(45:29):
to that that uh, that draft I was having fun
with that. I don't know if Buyer is available because
he's the he's the head of this, uh, this draft
we were doing. Sure, do you guys want to do
it some more? We've got yeah, we've got We've only
set it up for four rounds, so that's we can
do five rounds. Okay, you don't know about some of

(45:51):
our draftees may not be in attendance. But yeah, yeah,
all right, yeah. Oh in terms of having drops for that, yes, yes,
but they still play their theme song. Whatever. We can
fudge it. But I thought I thought you were like,
we don't have time, like dott, I want to do it.
I'm having fun. Okay, so if you're just joining us.

(46:11):
End of last hour, we were having so much fun
doing this mock must see TV draft. Now, Musty TV
was back when they had incredible shows Seinfeld, Friends, Cheers.
We did not include the original Musty TV, which was
Cosby Show, right, correct. Then there's like Will and Grace
isn't on the list. It was Will and Grace NBC. Yes, idea,

(46:36):
I was never a Will and Grace guy. Not that
make it. I did like mad about You did like
Matt Paul Riser's books quite funny, by the way, good
good to like. If you getta hopping on an airplane,
you can download or buy one of those little books
are they're they're fairly quick read. But there you'll you'll
be howling. Okay, So in the first round of our draft,
we let John Ramos select first. That's because he spent

(46:57):
a lifetime tanking and uh and uh you're His first
pick was um Sam Malone. Sam Malone made a Malone.
His second pick was who uh you know? He took
Woody right, Woody from Cheers. Okay, I went George with
my first pick and Jerry Jerry with my second pick.

(47:22):
Dan Buyer you went with Um Cramer at three overall,
and then it's a gross coming back at number six overall,
and then producer Vince you went with Phoebe and the lane.
That is correct, Phoebe and the lane. All right, So, uh, John,
I guess you will get the first pick of the

(47:43):
third round, knowing who's off the board, knowing who's available,
who would you like? Who would you like to go with?
I'm gonna go with somebody who kind of kind of
is a big foil for for Jerry. And then I'm
gonna go with new Men. I like a lot. Hello,
Hello Jerry, I am shocked Newman went top of the

(48:07):
third I think he's a sleeper, right Newman? All right,
we're gonna sleep our way all the way through that.
I'm torn on this one. This is by the way.
Newman is like John taking a punter in the third round.
He's all like it's he's uh, he's uh, he's not
an ever Nelson. Know who's who's the kicker? That that

(48:29):
Florida State kid who went to Tampa and he's been
kind a couple of times. Uh Ert Robert, You basically
took a Roberto every game. But yeah, but what he
what he plays, it's sparing lye uh wow, this is okay,
So this is tough. Should I display my draft board

(48:52):
and and the confusion that's in my my my boardroom.
How about this? How about you make the pick and
then if your pick is taken, you can ex Wayne
why you like that? Or maybe he'll be available or
see will be available later on in the draft. Um, okay,
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Frasier Crane as

(49:12):
my third pick. I'm Dr Fraser Crane day after day
miserable people coming into your office and pouring out their
litany of depression and anxiety. I think you'll find that
once you've been a patient of mine, I'm always there
when you great. How bet this is important. So here's
the here's the thing. I love he He was not

(49:35):
an original character in the show. He's a late later
addition to the show. But of course then he had
his own successful show, and I think his voice is prominent,
obviously from the Toy Story series. So there's a there's
a bunch of different reasons why I like Dr Frasier Crane,
but he was He also had his what's his wife's

(49:56):
name in um Lilith Lilith right, who was part of
the show. They got divorced and he moved to Seattle,
and that's when they started Fraser. So all right, that's
that's my third round pick. Go ahead, Damn you know what, Doug.
I think I almost think I have to continue on
this cheers train. Yeah, I see where you're going. I'm
gonna go with the smartest man in the room, or
at least he thinks. So. Cliff Claven as a kid

(50:19):
here gonna h sugar animal fit, godless America I think
I got great value with Cliff in the third round.
I think you did too. I listened Cliff, very very
solid pick. All right, what about Vince? Al Right, so

(50:40):
I'm gonna go back to friends on this. It's a
hard one going with Joey. That would that would have
been my I did. I had to at least go
with one half of Mrs Nandler Ball. Okay, let me
stop you right there. The Mets suck, so you have
Phoebe and Joey. That is correct? Or team does not

(51:00):
have the highest um I Q does not, But I
appreciate them for who they are on those ships. On
that show, they do a lot of good things that
are subtle, that aren't over the top. Guys. It is
hard to be It is a much different role to
play than some of the over the top. This subtle
comedy is sometimes the best comedy. All Right, you get

(51:22):
another selection, go ahead, alright. So with my final pick,
I'm going wild card again. I'm going Frank Costanza. I
got a lot of problems with your people. You're interesting.
This is also a special teamer not seen in every
episode yet. Tell you about Jerry Stiller to cover out

(51:43):
two huge roles as Frank Costanza and Arthur Spooner and
comedies man. Frank was great though, all right, what about
who's next? Yeah, there's a hard one. Gosh, this is
it's tough. You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna give
respect where respect is due. Give me coach coach from cheers,

(52:08):
coaches absolutely, coaches, Yeah, just sick. Is there a Rudy Pato?
So he coach? Just hearing that makes me makes my
pick validated coaches coaches great? All right, so it's me um, Well, listen,

(52:28):
we have smart with Frasier. All right, we have uh,
we have the lovable loser that is George. We have
a leader that is Jerry. Now we need guy. Everybody
likes the every man nam give me, not me, nobody. Hey,

(52:52):
what's happening to normal dog dog world? Sammy? And I'm
wearing milk phone underwear. Oh, I can't believe Norms lasted
the fourth round either, can't either, especially especially with John
Ramo's drafting. Yeah, I was gonna that was my next year.

(53:13):
That's amazing. Just just to quickly recap some of the
names that are out there, Rebecca, Rebecca and Diane of
the same role, different but yes, Carla's there, Carla, Yes,
Monica from Friends, Monica was my was what a wait?
Rachel was my? Which was Rachel has not been taken yet, Rachel?

(53:36):
But she I felt like she is the worst actress
of the bunch. No, I just like her role is
not now. I don't know, did you guys see the pilot? Yes,
she she got left at the altar, correct, right, But
the pilot she was like a whiney, spoiled princess type, right,
and that's not the role she plays in the show.

(53:58):
I thought she showed had to have much more acting
range in the pilot. Whereas, but she's the best looking
of anybody on this list, and still the best looking
of anybody on this list, right, Like that's she still
can make more money just tweeting out something or whatever
because she's a beautiful woman. That's all right, That's correct? Correct? Um?
All right? Is that it's one more? I see you

(54:21):
guys are excited by my other pick, So I will
end it off with someone who is, um, you know,
has a lot of to say. He's always got some
white crack. That's gonna be Chandler final pick here. Well,
then I guess I'm going to I'm going to Yan
Chandler bing. That's correct, Chandler bang. That was what he

(54:46):
was trying to get away from Janice. Yes, does my
Janis impression good value? John? Okay, how about this one?
Danes rank the shows one? Two, three? Oh? Uh Seinfeld
cheers friends Seinfeld one cheers two friends three. Yeah. I

(55:06):
tend to agree, although, man, we were we were a
cheers family. I love I love cheers really really good.
What about you, John, how would you? Right? I agree
with that. I think Sinfield cheers and then friends. Vince,
I agree as well, although I don't remember cheers as
much as everybody else because I'm I think I'm a
little bit younger than everybody else. And how old are
you have? Like a you have a huge beard and
there's gray in there. How I am in my late thirties,

(55:29):
so I kind of remarkable. You look you look a
little bit like the UNI bomber, but the un But
the UNI Bomber might be a little bit too old
reference for you. No, I know the UNI Bomber. I
thought Vince was gonna take Mary Tyler more in this draft.
Well he starts going to younger shows, right, What about
Bubble guppies. Why are they not on there? That's actually

(55:50):
Music's favorite show. Music grew up. Bubble bubble Bua bubble guppies, guppies, guppies. Um,
all right, So what's the story with Lombardi. We're effort, efforting,
We're working on effort. We're trying corn Butler is going

to get the dub? Was it more them? Or was
it more the clippers? We discussed next. Be sure to

Doug got Lip Show Fox Sports Radio, trouble trouble with

(57:02):
the Golden State Warriors, right, trouble. And I wasn't scoring
forty one points in the in the first quarter, gave
up thirty seven points. You know, Clay Thompson was already
talking about being ready for Houston. And they can brush
it off all they want. But when you have some
older pieces that are injury prone, like in Andrea Goodla,

(57:26):
like a Sean Livingston that you're counting on more, your
bench becomes slimmer because you don't have a DeMarcus Cousins.
You only have three scores. You have a team that's
highly motivated and hyper focused on one thing, which is
beating you, and so only they're focused on which is
beating you, gets really really interesting. Um. I am fascinated

(57:49):
by what happens when they eventually faced the Houston Rockets.
But this is you know, this Clipper team is just
not one to be trifled with. I don't think they
have enough to win two more games, but I don't
want to run the risk of putting into Game seven.
I just don't. Only only Kevin Durant showed up and

(58:11):
the Clippers did a great job of shutting down Steph Curry,
and when that happens, they just don't have enough weaponry.
It's a pick your poison sort of deal. And the
poison that has been picked is, Hey, let's make Clay
and Draymond always beat us. They Clay and Draymond beat us.

(58:32):
So do do I think that this is the series
where they get beat No? But it's the cumulative effect
of having to go to six games here as opposed
to really only they should have only gone to four
games and been rested and been fresh. And maybe it
doesn't matter because they don't have the Rocket. They have

(58:53):
the Rockets next, but I wouldn't want to go in
a seven game series after coming off a six game
series where you really have to push yourself in games
by having game six. I mean, I loved Steve Kerr's
response when he's asked about the identity of the team.
May we hang banners? That's our identity. On the other hand,
there's a certain arrogance to that response, which they can

(59:16):
have because they have won that much. But do they
need they need that? I don't know. Um, I don't
know if the Rockets have enough, but if they're ever
going to have a shot. This is the year where
they're gonna have a shot. I mean, well, James Harden

(59:38):
wasn't great last night, and they easily could have been
beaten in their own right, in their own building by
the Utah Jazz who you know. Dnov Mitchell did not
have a good night, and Ricky Rubio shot an airball
that could have given them the lead late. But the
Rockets did in fact win as opposed the Warriors, who

(59:58):
trailed almost the entire Worth quarter, took a lead late
and couldn't hold onto it. And as good as k
D was offensively, they went at him defensively and Lou
Williams scored on him three times, including getting bound in
the three point shot that he made. So I do
think they can be had. I think they can be

(01:00:18):
had by whoever comes out of the East and by
the Rockets, and that's about it. But the Clippers, a
team who you would think no shot, they match up
pretty well with them and expose the weakness to what
the Warriors have not been able to fix, which is
their bench has not been fixed and they did not
fix their starting center position. If you don't think that

(01:00:39):
was an issue, why they signed to Marcus Cousins. Why
they bring back Andrew Bogan? And Bogan can't play in
that game, and I don't think he can play against
the Rockets very long either. Like now you're talking about
an eight dude team that's a lot, a lot, a
lot eight guy team are waiting to see what happens

(01:00:59):
with Oosh Rosen. I think that's the most interesting and
biggest talking point of the draft, right Kyla Murray Josh Rosen?
Who does who does Arizona pick? Maybe they're just holding
their cards close to the vest. We don't know. Usually
this time er, usually the team that has the first
overall pick has begun negotiating with who they're are, you know,

(01:01:22):
as told who they're going to pick number one overall.
And then it gets interesting. Cardinals have not, which leads
you to believe that they know they're at a talent
uh disparity, and they are going to try and figure
out what can we do to get the most talent possible.
My guess is they haven't decided because they haven't gotten

(01:01:44):
the right offer yet for Rosen one another first round pick.
They want multiple picks. I don't know if they get it.
I wish I knew unsch um Let to get you
over to Dan Buyer gets there's some Dave gentleman of

(01:02:06):
the Giants, the GM saying that they want to draft
starters with their sixth pick in the seventeen pick. Now,
if you drafted a quarterback, the question is with then
that player start in place of Eli Manning. Well, yeah,
but but again this is and this is what I
think that means. It means you're not going to draft
the quarterback, because even if you draft a starting a
quarterback to ultimately start, that means one of the guy,

(01:02:28):
one of the two go to the bench. He also
said last year that when they had the second overall pick,
that you want to draft the guy who's going to
be a Hall of Fame player. And there are some
who feel that, say Kwon Barkley could have been that
guy or could be that guy, and that's who they
took with the second overall pick. So it seems that
he stays on script, at least when he sends these
out to the press and speaking about what the Giants

(01:02:50):
may do. As for the forty Niners, different story. It
was two years ago they traded with the Bears swap
second and third overall, and then when Mitchell Robinski went
to Chicago at number two, they took Solomon Thomas, the
defensive lineman, at number three. Reports are now saying the
forty Niners are shopping Thomas ahead of tonight's first round.
You can hear coverage right here on Fox Sports Radio
at eight o'clock Eastern time in Nashville with Jay Glazer,

(01:03:12):
Joel Clack, Chris Spielman, and Rob Stone. Clay Travis gets
it going with a draft pregame show at seven o'clock Eastern.
Jaguars picked up the fifth year option on the contract
of cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Diamondbacks blanked the Pirates today five nothing.
Dodgers hold the one nothing lead on the Cubs in
the seventh inning at Wrigley buck Scar Malcolm Brogden's gonna
miss the first two games of their series against the Celtics.

(01:03:32):
Very big, yeah, very big. Still not back from that
foot injury. They had hoped that he could come back
at some point the series, but now it's been ruled
out of the first two games of this matchup against Boston.
Nuggets and Spurs play their Game six in the first
round of the Western Conference tonight in San Antonio eight
o'clock Eastern time, Nuggets Up three two and the Sacramento
Kings at NBA will be conducting a joint investigation into

(01:03:53):
the sexual assault allegations made against King's head coach Luke Walton.
Walton is not the allegations, as his attorneys dis robbed
the claims as false. We'll be back to the Doug
Gottlib Show in ten seconds. But first, a word from
our friends at Farmers. At Farmers Insurance. We know every
windshield collision has a unique sound. Beetle bird, poop drone.
I've seen it, covered it dr Farmers. Farmers under written

(01:04:18):
my Farmers truck Fire insurance exchanges that affiliates products un
available every state. Say. Here's what Russell Westbrooks said today
after his exit meetings UM first, on the fallout from
the matchup with Damian Lillard. It doesn't change much, man. Honestly,
if you want to determine my career on what I've

(01:04:39):
done over two or three games, you go ahead. That
doesn't mean blank to me, it doesn't. I'm gonna wake up,
like I told you before, three beautiful kids. I'm gonna
wake up and smile be happy, enjoy my life. Doesn't
change anything about talk about if I'm playing bad or
who's better, who's not. I know who I am as
a person, and that's the biggest thing I can say

(01:05:00):
about myself. I know who I am. I know what
I'm able to do. I know my capabilities, I know
what I've done, I know what I can and can't do.
So I'm okay with that. I'm okay with who I am.
Just be blessed to wake up every day and enjoy
my life. Uh. The talk about I don't even know
what to talk you're talking about. But whatever it is,
you guys can keep talking about it. I'm gonna keep

(01:05:22):
living my life's bringing. Karen Butler's, of course the NBA
champion author of Tough Juice, his award winning book, and
of course you see him on various networks, including our
own Talking Basketball. I follow them on Twitter at Real
Tough Juice. What's uh? What do you think when you
hear or listen to the comments from Russell Westbrook? Well,

(01:05:43):
I think, first and foremost, thanks for having me on
the show, Doug. I think that it's it's it's a
real statement from his standpoint, because what he's saying is
no matter what, I'm still going to continue to be
Russell Westbrook, and I'm gonna trying to be the best
possible version of my self. But the truth of the
matter is that, you know, he he really ran into

(01:06:04):
a situation in which, for the first time in a
long time, I've ever seen you know, my guy, uh,
you know, running to a guy that you know it
was prepared for that challenge, and that's Damian Lillard. And
I thought that Dame did a remarkable job of, you know,
keeping his composure. I thought Russell was in the situation
in which that he tried to, you know, overwhelm himself

(01:06:27):
with the weight of the team. You know, understanding that
Paul George wasn't the best possible version of himself for
a couple of games, and he probably was hindered, hindered
by some type of injury looked like to the shoulder
or somewhat, but he tried to do a lot, you know,
and and and the others, the guys from Grant on
down that list, they played extremely well at home and

(01:06:49):
uh in that closeout game, they brought it, but they
felt a little short. Yeah. So when I hear his comments, though,
I like, look, the comments don't have you know, it
just feels like he's in denial over Like, I got it,
You've got a good life. Like we're not talking about
your life for the type of person you are. This
this is about the type of player you are. And

(01:07:11):
they had a lead that should be insurmountable and like
it became hero ball firm and we've seen this before.
This He said he knows who he is. We know
who he is as well. We're not wrong to think
that Russell struggles as a deep perimeter shooter. He's a
more of a mid range guy, and that he will
force things in try and take over late even if
he's not playing or shooting well. Correct. Yeah, but that's

(01:07:33):
that's the same thing that made him who he is,
and that's why he's been so successful. He's the first
guy to you know, average a triple double in a
long time, first guy to average and triple double three
years straight. And when you tell the story of basketball,
you can't tell the story without mentioning him, obviously, because
he's the m v P emn to the finals. He
had a ton of success and I don't think that

(01:07:53):
his journey will be uh, you know, hindered by what
just happened in this series. However, I think going forward,
when you're talking about the top tier guys in the
Western Conference and you're talking about the status quo of
who's the best guard and who done the most with
less and all those things, now, I think that you know,
Dame Lillard with that uh just explosion and what he's

(01:08:17):
displayed in his composure, I think that the general public
and basketball heads all across the world fell in love
with him a little bit more than they fell in
love with Russell Westbrook on that stage. I agree with you,
if you're the Oklahoma City thunder, how do you fix it?
It's it's a it's a couple of ways how you
can fix it, but you gotta first address, uh, the

(01:08:38):
cap issue and what you're capable of doing. And you
you got a log log jam in three situations. You
paid Steven Adams. I think he got maxed out to
his standards, and then uh, Russell Westbrook deservingly so got
maxed out. And then Paul George to keep him in. Okay, see,
you know with the budding team that was trying to
uh you know, steal him away was the lost and

(01:09:00):
just Lakers, and you got Paul George there, so what
else can you really acquire to that team? I think
you have a mid level exception of like five million
dollars that you're able to offer. That's not going to
get you a huge name. You probably can go out
there and get a guy like Nick Young or someone
that's the season vet that can come in and you know,
make shots and be streaky and moments and you're but

(01:09:21):
I mean, you gotta address that roster at some point,
and they do need more help, and they need more
guys that's capable of going out there and and and
giving that leadership that's needed. Corn Butler joining us in
the dug Ala ship, I agree with you and addressing
the capit, like how are you gonna trade Steven Adams
right like that? He makes he makes too much money
and he doesn't have that he can't pla him at
the end of games. Yeah, I think I think Steven

(01:09:44):
Adams have a ton of value though still, but I
wouldn't trade him. I wouldn't flirt with that idea. I
just really think that you have to get the better
better on the end, and you gotta pride yourself on,
you know, finding guys for instance, like you look at
the Los Angeles Clippers, which I know we're gonna get
to in a second, but look at the Los Angeles
Clippers and what they've been in capable of doing. No
household names there. You look at a guy like Lou Williams,

(01:10:06):
been a journeyman for the for years, one of the
best prolific scores we've seen, you know, coming off the
bench him of Jamal Crawford in our time. And they've
been able to assemble a roster by trading away marquis
names like Chris Paul Blake, Griffin uh DeAndre Jordan's and
then getting a bunch of guys that just buy into
a culture and the franchise guys now your coach, and

(01:10:28):
they're listening to his message and they're following that trend,
and I think they're doing a remarkable job. So I think, okay,
see can take a page out of your bench where
you have two budding stars that play extremely well off
one another, and you have a blue guy and Steven Adams,
and now you have to trim some of that salary
and just pride yourself on developing and finding diamonds in

(01:10:48):
the rupt stud Gotli show. That's a voice of tough juice.
Karen Butler, former All Star in the NBA, covers the
league for Turner Sports and for us here at Fox
Sports Radio and Fox Sports. And let's get to the
l A Clippers. Did they win it or did the
Warriors lose it by not playing any defense? Hey, listen,
I'll say this for the first time in the series,

(01:11:09):
and I know that they wanted two games now and
you know, to being you know there and and go
to the State. And that's just amazing to see it happened.
But I would have to say that they actually took
this one. The first one, uh to Golden State. Warriors
put their guard down. Uh, they had slipp it. They
let it go. There was up thirty points. And but

(01:11:30):
this time, you know, this is the first time that
you've seen Clay K D Steph score eight plus points
in a playoff game and they still lost. I thought
the Clippers, you know, plus three on the rebounds, Uh,
offensive rebounds favorite the Warriors still, but defensive rebounds favorite
the Clippers. And then the shooting percentage you know from
the field goal standpoint from the field favorite the Clippers also,

(01:11:53):
and the Clippers had the biggest lead of the game
at fifteen, and the Warriors only had the biggest game
at home, where you know, Clay was on record saying
that they wanted to come out and make a statement. Uh,
they felt a little short in doing that. But I
thought the blue guy and the ultimate guy that really
kind of you know, uh changed the game and the
flow of for the Clippers was Gallinari. I thought whenever

(01:12:15):
he played consistent and brought something to the table from
the offensive standpoint, they had a realistic shot because we
know what Harold and William is gonna do on a
consistent basis. Yeah, it does point out the limitations in
the other guys, right, like Draymond cannot score now, and
then they're just kind of trying to cobble together that
fifth starter and you know you you got Kevon Luney

(01:12:36):
gets blocked on a on a sure dunk late in
the game, like they're just it does feel like last
year's issues, which was I think more than any Big
three or chemistry thing, like you only got four starters
and that whoever that fifth guy is is not good enough.
And Iguadala, as good as he has been, good as
he is defensively, he's a little long in the tooth,
and he's not a great shooter, and and he can't

(01:12:58):
play the whole game. I feel like their issues of
not having a great bench and not having that this
starter may come to roost in the next series. I
thought the two things that bothered the loss, uh, the
Golden State Warriors. Sorry about that. The Warriors was uh
there there pick a roll situation and their coverages something
that you know, Coach Kurr said that they had the address,

(01:13:18):
you know when they had the Marcus Cousins. Now fast forward,
you don't have no longer have the Marcus Cousins, and
then you have Andrew Bogan. What you talked about, this
is a little longer the tooth and the coverages. They
didn't have enough time, quality of games and minutes to
get him acclimated to how they wanted to guard those coverages.
So now you've got to resort to the Hampton five.
And once again to your point, they don't have the

(01:13:39):
reserves that's able to uh stay the course and keep
that momentum in their favors. So now you're exercising the
right to play KD a little longer. Uh, you're you're
putting clay out there for a little longer stretches, or
you try to have some type of offense whoever has
it going the most out there in those stretches, and
then now you kind of distort the chemistry a little bit.

(01:14:00):
So they're gonna have to go all in uh to
get this next game. They can't play around. This is
a must win for them. You don't want to go
on seven. I still have the warrior's favor to win it,
but you got to tip your head off to the
Clippers and give them a ton of credit. Dr River
has done a remarkable job. And how much of a
carrot is that going to be for the walking free
agents out there this summer saying, wow, did you see

(01:14:21):
what just happened? They still two games? Imagine if I'm
the headline in the story next year joining this team
and what we can be able to accomplish. Yeah, it's
it's pretty pretty special stuff, especially after trading to buyas
Harris Smith season uh in the East Boston and Milwaukee
before the series starts. Who do you like? You know what?
I really like Milwaukee still just because from an officer standpoint, UH,

(01:14:44):
Top five deepens the standpoint efficiency top five, Janice, I
think he's the m VP this season. Uh you go
either way with him or James, But I still got you, honest,
my rook, just watching what he's been capable of doing
and how he's been excelling, And I just think they're
trending in the right direction, and they hang they had
on defense, and if they don't have Marcus smart On,

(01:15:04):
they're posing end. I just think it's gonna be tough
because you need bodies. You need a lot of bodies
to build that wall to kind of slow Yanas down.
And he's just playing an amazing clip right now. What
about Philly and Toronto, I think that's a toss up.
But if I had a you know, uh bet on
this on on on that series, I would say Toronto
just because they don't have a wealth of games that

(01:15:25):
they've been able to play. And I think that Joel
and be with Marcus Sault right there in the middle,
I think he's gonna, you know, slow him down somewhat,
you know, with his offense, not his defense, because Joel
and Bees can dominate him in that space. But offensively,
he can stretch him away from the basket. He can
use some of the tactics that you know, he's battle tested,
he can do some things. And then Kawhi Leonard, him
and Jimmy Butler, that's gonna be one heck of a matchup.

(01:15:48):
And you know the others, I think Seam and guys
like that are gonna really step up to that stage.
And I just I'll give a slight edge to Toronto great.
The book is called Tough to As. You can pick
it up plus follow them on Twitter if you want
to know anything that's going on in the NBA East.
Carron Butler, thanks so much, grunt. Let's get uh, let's

The Doug gotlib schell rolls on Fox Sports Radio. Kind
of cool thing that happened to the NFL networks. You
guys see Joe Clatt was on it with Kirk herber Street,
Charles Davis and um who else is on it? Somebody

(01:17:37):
else from ESPN. Desmond Howard was on it, Like, man,
how did they get that? Usually does not happen. The
lines are wide open right now. You know what what happened.
We used to like, it's like the only guy that
can't work for multiple networks, even though I've worked for
the multiple networks. Maybe it says the type of guy
that I am. Let's play for you something that we
heard earlier today on Fox Sports One and Fox Sports Radio.

(01:17:59):
We call it now he Little Caesars. You can get
a large, deep deep dish bacon wrapped pizza for just
twelve dollars. It's wrapped with more than three feet of bacon,
then top of pepperoni, even more bacon, and for only
twelve dollars twelve bucks at Little Caesar's, available participating in locations,
plus tax where applicable. By the way, I just want

(01:18:21):
to point out my son now sleeps with no shirt
and he's like, Dad, I want to be a man.
I'm a man. I sleep with no shirt. I go, well,
you know, I gotta tell you sometimes I sleep with
a shirt on. He's like, yeah, but all I need
is beer and wings and pizza, and I'm a man.
I was like, I don't know where you're reading it,
but pass me that beer because that's fairly accurate. Here's

(01:18:42):
Colin Cowherd who says the Warriors rely too much on
Kevin Durant. So here's what we know about the Warriors.
This is not as good a team as two years
ago that want to title. It's not as good a team,
uh as it was last year. They're very thin. They
only play two guys off the bench, really Iggy and Looney. Uh.
They don't play a ton of defense because Draymond Green
used to be a defensive stopper. He is no longer

(01:19:03):
a defensive stopper. He's just an overplayed niche player. And
and there's there's a real apathy here when you have
Kevin Durant, and I think it's a lot of it's
Kevin Durant. When you have a great player like Kevin Durant,
the Warriors sometimes get sloppy and lazy and wait for
Kevin Durant to bail him out. Kevin Durant is in
his prime. Now he's prying the back of in his prime.

(01:19:23):
But I'm watching Kevin Durant and I think a huge
part of Golden State's apathy is you can just rely
on Kevin. I think a lot of that actually is
by design by the Clippers. Right. Look at the number
of shots Steph Curry got only fifteen, and he was efficient,
but at times he disappears he's gotten the foul troubled

(01:19:43):
some this series, they've just kind of tried to cover
up Steph Curry and make k d uh. You know,
early on the series they tried to make Clay Thompson
beat them and everybody else beat them, and then last
night they flipped it and said, hey, let's make Kevin
Durant beat us, and he near Lea did. Problem was
they couldn't get stops. You score Hunter points, you shoe

(01:20:04):
in the game score Hunter scored Hunter twenty one point,
shot thirty eight from three, and they were fifteen of
threty nine they had from the free throw line. And
they're usually a high turnover team. They only had eight
um and yet they lost the game. Why because they
give up fifty field goal shooting. Clippers shot the eyes

(01:20:26):
out of it the free to line, and the Clippers
don't turn over lost in Not only are they not
as good and diverse and deep offensively, but they're not
as good defensively as they've been. This has been analytically
the best defensive team in the NBA and in the
playoffs for the past couple of years and they're just
not anymore. They're just not Um, are you guys big

(01:20:51):
draft guys? Big draft knicks? Like I like it. This
is a weird draft though, because there's not a lot
of quarterbacks in it. There's not a lot of offensive
exceed players. If you will buy Are you a big
draft Nick? Yeah? I do enjoy it, and I will
watch and listen tonight of course on Fox Sports Radio.
But I think I will watch the entire first round

(01:21:11):
and not h veer from it, even with the lack
of sexy names. Yeah, I mean, like, look, we're taking
everybody else's word forward. Mean, I think you've seen these
guys play. Um, I mean you haven't seen Nick Bosa play,
you know, since like the fourth game of the season.
But because his name is Bosa and because he was
highly regarded, and you just think, all right, I'm I'm

(01:21:33):
with it. But there's lots of you know, Quinn and
Williams for example, Like, how many of you guys really
have watched him play. It's a weird experience to to
make an assessment over what a team did on a
guy that you may have seen make one or two
tackles during one or two one or two college games, um,

(01:21:54):
and then the quarterback thing is hard because even the
ones that we've questioned in the past have in relatively productive,
Like there haven't been a lot of bust quarterbacks of late.
It's just what level of success have they been? Christian
Hackenburg obviously notwithstanding, all right, what are the big surprises?
What's John Gruden gonna do? They kind of the two

(01:22:15):
guys that kind of control this thing. Our time in
Arizona and Gruden in Oakland. What happens tonight will last?

it's a big night for the league because hope springs
the ternal and the draft is a huge, huge deal.
Michael Lombardi He's been a part of this thing as

he spent tonight inside those boardrooms making decisions at the
very top of the food chain in the nash Football League.
He hosts GM Shuffle podcast and the author of The
Gridiron Genius and master Class and winning championships and building
dynasties in the NFL fallm on Twitter at m Lombardi NFL. Michael,

(01:23:40):
thanks so much for joining us. It feels like the
Cardinals are spitting in the wind of all conventional wisdom, right.
They hire, they hire, and fire a coach uh in
less than one calendar year. They go through two offensive coordinators.
Other teams have stood by their rookie quarterbacks after disappointing
seasons and supported them with better coaches, better coordinators, and

(01:24:03):
better players. Instead, it looks like they're gonna jettison Josh
Rosen going to an unproven college coach to become uh
an inexperienced pro head coach. Is this the wave of
the future. Is this just the ultimate outlier trying the
opposite of everybody else? Well, well, the ultimate uh you
know outlier was they were trying to be the Rams, right,

(01:24:24):
so they hired Cliff Kingsbury to be there Sean McVeigh
to fix Josh Rosen, who happened to fix you know,
mcveig fixed golf so and then all of a sudden
they changed. Of course, again, it just doesn't make any sense.
I mean, the reason they went and hired Josh Rosen,
and the reason they went and hired Cliff Kingsbury was
because they needed somebody to fix Josh Rosen. And the
reason they made the change is because they wanted to

(01:24:46):
protect their draft pick, to give up a three and
five form last year in the draft to move up
to get them so somebody likes them. That makes us
all the more fascinating. Is the general manager who asked
control over the draft, who picked, who picked Josh Rosen
and made the train for Josh Rosen, is now the
guy going to pick Kyler Murray. It just doesn't add
up to me. Okay, so is it all a smoke strain,
because if so, I don't really understand the logic behind

(01:25:08):
the smoke strain. I don't think it's a smoke screen.
I don't understand that. I think I think there's both.
The plan in Arizona is there's no plan assuming they
draft Kyler Murray. Do you trade Josh Rosen tonight or
do you wait until there's a team with a need?
I would wait. I mean, look, you're going to get
an asset who's really it's a distressed asset. Why trade

(01:25:30):
them away? Why not bring him to camp? Let Kingsbury.
The funny thing here is you hired Kingsbury to make
them better, you know, and I didn't realize Kingsbury can
only coach one quarterback. I thought he was a quarterback guru,
and so you need him to coach everybody. Make them better.
Go to the training camp, Look see what you have
in them. I don't think they really know what they
have in Josh Rosen. I don't know how they couldn't know.

(01:25:51):
If you were drafting, If you were in charge of Arizona,
you've been in charge of teams in their draft before,
what would you do? Well? If you ask me that question.
That meant I like Josh Rosen that I traded a
three and a five for Josh Rosen. I would have
had the conversation with my head coach and said, look, hey,
we drafted this guy. You're here because you need to

(01:26:11):
make this guy better. We're here because we don't know
what we have. It would have been like Sean McVeigh
going to the Rams and saying, get rid of Jared Goff.
And let's face it, Jared Goff had a worst rookie
year than Josh Rosen did, and McVeigh turned it around
because that was a job that he was instructed to do. Um. Okay,
let's let's get to the defensive lineman and outside linebackers

(01:26:33):
and interior defensive lineman who are kind of hybrid new
age guys. Who of those do you think is most
likely to be a star in the league. Well, obviously,
Quentin Williams is a really good player. I mean, he
can rush from the inside, he's athletic, he can move.
I think he's a He should be the first pick
in the draft. He is really one of the best
players in the draft. I think Jeffrey Simmons, the defensive

(01:26:54):
tackle from Mississippi State is an outstanding player. He's a
dominant inside player. He said some off the field issues
in terms of high school and then of course he's
got the torn a c O. I think Devin White
is the prototypical inside linebacker in today's NFL. He can
play all three downs. And when your mic linebacker is faster,
defense is fast. So those three players on on defense
really just jump out to you. For me. Offensively, I

(01:27:16):
think the quarterbacks are overrated. I think their their value
is way higher than really based on some of the
other players in the draft. And I think that at
the end of the day, I'm not sure any of
them are starters. I think a lot of them are
more backup than they are starters. Yeah, and and the
one who is likely to go first of those quarterbacks
is Kyler Murray. How challenging is it considering he's only
started for a year. It doesn't seem like he's the

(01:27:38):
most verbal guy, unlike a Baker Mayfield in terms of,
you know, leadership in front of the rest of the team. Um,
and he's he is a runner now he throws as well.
He's not Lamar Jackson. He's he's a He's a runner,
and he's small, like how out challenging is all of
that in order to make him into a viable starting quarterback. Well,
you can't make them see. I mean it's hard to

(01:28:00):
you know. When he's back in that pocket, he's trying
to throw them ball, he can't see. It's you short.
I mean, look, we could talk all about it all
we want. Russell Wilson just got thirty five million dollars
a year, and really he's coming off one of his
worst years with the best offensive line he's had in
a while, and he has trouble seeing. And we know
Russell Wilson is much better when the playboys down and
he can run around. And I'm sure Kyler Murray is
gonna be the same way. But Russell Wilson was durable,

(01:28:22):
and Russell Wilson withstood some hits. This kid's gotta prove
we can do that. Um. I think it's a I
think it's a fascinating thing. I just don't know if
it can really work consistently for sixteen weeks. I tend
to agree with you. Okay, So let's say you're the giants.
You're the giants, and I've I've heard you say before
like that. They they're their information must be different than

(01:28:43):
the rest of the league because they still think that
Eli Manning could play. They got two first round picks.
What do you do if you're the Giants. Well, if
I'm the Giants, I mean, you know, certainly, I'm not
sure I'm in love with this draft class. That the
Giants don't draft a quarterback in the first round, I
wouldn't say they did a mistake. I think you can
improve their offensive and defensive lines and improve the team
with The Giants have only won thirty one games the

(01:29:03):
last five years. They have more than just problems at quarterback.
They got problems pretty much with their roster. They have
not done a good job of drafting and developing players
over the last five years. That's why they've only won
thirty one games. I would take the best players available.
If they try to force feed the quarterback into this situation,
I'm not sure it's going to prove out to be
wise because they might be just drafted a backup quarterback. Yeah. Um,

(01:29:24):
I want to ask you about two Iowa tight ends.
There's no fan who's more of a converted wide receiver,
and there's t J. Hockenson who's he actually blocks, and
he's obviously the higher rated of the two. Um, how
much value is there in Hawkinson in that he can
he can block, not just catch the football. Well, you know,
true Wise in the NFL is a dinosaur, right, the
guy that can line up on the line of scrimmage

(01:29:46):
and block, the guy that can pass protect, and then
also the guy that can impact the passing game. You know,
that's those three dimensions are really important. And if you
get a guy like that, you become a much multidimensional offense.
And it's very hard to do. Guys like Fan the
real a good receiver. You know, they're the mismatch receivers,
but do they really win the mismatch? I think that
becomes the concern. A lot of teams have made mistakes.

(01:30:07):
Go back to the Super Bowl. Gerald Everett was on
the field for the Ramps as the second tight end.
The Patriots treated up like a wide receiver. They played
their nickel defense. It really didn't do the Rams any
good in that situation. Uh Montes sweat got I guess
decent news, right, He's got thickening in one of the walls,
in the wall of his heart. It's cardiomyopathy, but it's
not as thick as had been first feared. Legitimately, like

(01:30:32):
in a You're in You're You're in there and the
doctors say, well he's cleared, but this could you know,
this could be a major health issue. Do you draft month? Uh?
Do you draft Montes sweat? Well, look, that's what the
doctors get paid to do. The doctors get paid to
tell me who we should, who can pick, and who
we can If they take a guy off the board
for medical they're taking him off the board. I'm not

(01:30:53):
a doctor, I'm not trained. He's got to give me
an answer. He can't give me one of those well
we'll see. He's got to give me an answer that.
It all goes on the medical greed, and once the
doctor gives the medical grade, then it's over and you
can argue back at foods. You can ask him to
retest it. You could ask him to re look at it.
But once he assigns that medical grade, that tells me
where I can pick the player, and then I go
about it. You know Gruden, you've worked with Gruden, Um,

(01:31:15):
No one's worked with Mayak. He's done it on TV
for years. What do you think they do tonight, well,
I think they do exactly what they've been doing all
off season. I think they just collect talent. I think
that they're going to look at the board and I
think if John Seeson receiver he likes, even though he's
paid on a buddy, the two receivers will probably take one.
I think that that's what they'll do. I don't know.
I'm not sure they have any team building with what
they're in terms of how they've attacked this offseason. So

(01:31:38):
it's gonna be fascinating. Look, you know, Mike's in a
tough job. I's never done this before. It's a lot
easier sitting on NFL network set than be being in
that room trying to orchestrate trade trying to make sure
you understand where things are going. It's not as easy
as it looks. I think it's gonna be a challenge.
What do you think of the Frank Clark trade from
Let's first start with the with the Kansas City perspective.
You trade for a younger version of a d Ford

(01:32:01):
who had a tremendous seas only twenty five years old,
but then you give him a big contract. Do you
like it? From their perspective, Well, look, I think Kansas
City's taken on a risk with Frank Clark. Fran Cock
is a really good player. I think he could rush inside.
He was a dominant player coming out of college. The
problem was the off the field issues. And if Kansa
c fields they can get their hands around it and
rewarding it with a huge contract is not a big deal.

(01:32:22):
Then they've had success doing that in the past. Will
see does he impacts their defense and d for certainly
they needed somebody that can rush around the cord. They
don't have very They can't get much pressure. That's why
everybody's talking about Solomon Thomas being available today because he's
been available for the last two months. Today it's just
got nap that he's available. What about Seattle, Um, they
obviously gave you mentioned giving Russell Wilson the biggest contract

(01:32:45):
in the history of the sport. But in doing so
they decide to not give a new contract to Flank
Frank Clark. But they get a first next year, second
and and they get to swap thirds this year. Do
you like it from Seattle's perspective, Well, Seattle made the
decision they weren't going to try Frank Clark enough to
give him that kind of money. And they've got other
players they need to sign, whether it's Bobby Waggoner, whether
it's Jared Read. I mean, they have other guys that

(01:33:07):
they have to sign. Because once you pay what they
paid for Russell Wilson, you can't pay everybody. You know,
you don't have a printing press in Seattle and just
pay everybody. There's a cap. So you've got to make decisions,
and they chose to make that decision and go with
the drafts. Bruce Allen needs a starting quarterback. He traded
for Case Keen, who was a starter. There's talk of
them moving up. Any sense of what Washington will do.

(01:33:28):
I think Washington likes Haskins. I'm not sure Haskins is
a West Coast quarterback. I think he's more suited for
the Joe Gibbs offense from the nineteen eighties and he
is for Jay Gruten's West Coast offense. I think it's
gonna be fascinating. There's debate in the Redskins draft room
whether Daniel Snyder and Bruce like one quarterback and Jay
Gruden and the coaching staff like another. I think the
one thing about the Redskins that we know they finished

(01:33:49):
twenty three in the NFL and wins over the last
five years. This is an organization, as Bill Walsh would say,
is not one of the eight, not one of the
teams you're worried about in terms of compete for a
championship because right now they're so stuck in terms of
mediocrity within their whole organization, they really don't have a chance.
All right, Well, the Patriots are a team that you
always have to worry about winning a championship. They lost
Rob gren Kelsey, They've lost other players as well. There

(01:34:10):
is some whispers about them trading up maybe to get Hawkinson.
Do you think they stand pat Do you think they
move up to try and get somebody who can impact
the field immediately. I think that the Patriots they'll stay
right where they are and they'll take the players. They'll
get a trade offer, they could move around. I think
the one thing about the draft for Belichick, for Pete
Carroll and some of the coaches that understand it, there's
no player that they feel they have to have. You

(01:34:32):
know that, the players, it's the system, it's the culture
that wins. They get good players, they fit a man
and player. Why the player X? There's not much variant,
so why would I give up assets to get them?
So I think that's what we'll do. Great stuff as always,

(01:36:20):
burps football, and he joins us on the Doug Gotlip
Show on Fox Sports Radio. UM. I want to get
to the other stuff into the draft tonight, but I
want to ask you so far are you happy with
your decision? Oh? Yeah, man, I think it's ninety two
days now. Um, I've never felt more alive. That's why
I keep telling people is when they asked me how

(01:36:41):
it is. I just twenty hour days and NonStop chaos,
and I've never felt more alive than seeing massive change
in a short amount of time. And um, and you
know this, Um, just that vibe of being with the
nineteen other coaches and being around the kids all the
time and seeing stuff get done, seeing kids change, and

(01:37:04):
you know, it's just it's exhilarating, and it's it's better
than playing. It's the coolest I've ever done. It comes
with tons of challenges and uh, it's the hardest thing
I've ever done. Um, but boys, it rewarded. That's amazing,
really super super happy for you. All right, let's get
to tonight. Um. I think the Kyler Murray thing is

(01:37:25):
it's throwing all conventional wisdom into the into the toilet,
right Like, you just drafted a guy last year that
everybody thinks has several of the markers of being a
talented starting quarterback. You hire a coach who hadn't coached
in the NFL, actor firing a coach in less than
one year and going through two offensive coordinators within the season.
He didn't have a good offensive lines, he didn't have

(01:37:47):
time anyway. Now you're gonna hire. Now you're gonna draft
a guy who's five ten and run an offense that
is essentially a college offense Like this feels like the
opposite of what everyone's always thought is uh conventional whiz them? Does?
Does it? Does it make it the right movie in
your mind to draft a calamary number one overall early thing?

(01:38:07):
It does? And I'm a Josh Rosen fans so, and
I love how you said that he has all the
mark or most of the markers to be a really
good NFL quarterback. Here here's why. And we you know,
me and you have had this conversation for the last
few years, and you could see it coming. You could
just see Saturday football coming to Sunday football. It was

(01:38:28):
just eventually going to take over. Um, And that's happening.
And we saw last year with a bunch of bunch
of different examples of it last year during the season.
But this is the first maino one And I think
it's if they take you number one, which all signed,
all indicators are he's going number one. That here you go.
You're in Arizona, you're having a hard time film in

(01:38:49):
the stadium. Yes, he drafted a guy. Um, you go
and hire the you know, sizzily head coach from college
that has no NFL experience is going to run this
really cool air raid offense. Well, what's the next move
you make? Well, the move you make is to get
the most glamorous shizzley college football player to run this

(01:39:11):
offense that is perfectly fit for So I get all that.
I think the bigger pieces this when you start digging
down into the scheme. Okay, cliff scheme. And it's ironic
because I hired an air rate offensive coordinatory my high school.
So I've learned now. I already knew a little bit
about their right but nine know all like the secret sauce,
all the behind the veil stuff, where they really struggles

(01:39:34):
in past protection. That is where it's kind of elementary.
So the run games pretty solid. The past and game
is obviously really cool. Um, the way they practice is awesome.
It's a it's a great way to practice. You get
way more reps um, you do a lot of things
that are pretty innovative. But where they really really struggles
past protection both schematically because they don't have it and

(01:39:57):
then not having in myne tight end blah blah blah,
nobody cares. Now you take that and you already don't
have great offensive lineman. Well, now you're really stuck. How
do we bring in this guy that we know is
going to struggle in the pro game with past protection. Um,
it's going to take them some time to figure it out.
We're not very good up fund anyways, How can we compete?

(01:40:19):
Will you compete by drafting the quarterback? It's literally he's
almost untackable, Like he's just he's slippery, he's incredibly twitchy.
He's he's the hardest guy in football to bring down.
So now you create more time for your passing game
as they grow as his staff, as they grow the
system and more an NFL past protection system. Well, now

(01:40:42):
you have a guy that kind of bridge that gap
and buy some time doing that because he is who
he is. I mean, he's just a he's a freak athlete.
He's been that way since high school. So that's for
all those reasons why it makes sense to me. All Right,
So it's it's interesting. I started the show saying what's
easy about Josh Rosen is he's a victim or a

(01:41:03):
product of everything that he said. It was important to
him last year. Last year he said, Hey, I'd rather
be at the right fit than be the number one
guy taken. And sure enough he's not the right fit,
so he's going to likely be shipped off. What is
the right fit, what is the right offense? Where is
the right place? Ultimately for Josh Rosen, if if Arizona

(01:41:24):
is not I like the Redskins Kevin O'Connell, who's their
past and nam coordinator, Starred work with me to League eleven,
I don't know seven eight years ago. Is one of
the great young football coaches out there. You know, this
is like Messi's and next McVeigh. But he's kind of
like that, Like you can see it coming as soon
as he got into real coaching that this guy is

(01:41:46):
gonna be a difference maker. And he's a traditionalist. You know,
he backed up Tom Brady. Um he has roots and
that system. He has roots in the West Coast. I
taught him all this stuff. I know. Um, so he's
got real traditional passing game roots. And that's kind of
what Josh Rosen is is he's a traditionalist as a quarterback.
He's a guy that can handle protection, line screen, which

(01:42:08):
handle the run game could turns back to the line screams,
play under center, can play in the gun, could run
spread concepts with an also run big boy old school concepts.
So I personally think the Redskins are right fit. Kevin
is also really good with different personalities and Josh, as
we've talked about some of his personalities, it's going to
challenge you every day, I think in a good way.

(01:42:30):
And I think what Josh does actually brings out the
best in coaches because he's really going to challenge them all.
Aaron Rodgers, um, and I think Kevin's the right guy
that can can handle that. So to me, it's a
no brainer. But I don't know the economics of it.
I don't know the trade pick value, you know, I don't.
I don't get into all that stuff right now. I'm
too busy trying to figure out how to win my

(01:42:50):
first game in August. All right, So if not him,
and you need a quarterback, who do you draft? If
Kyler Murray, I'm Haskins guy. I've been a Haskinas guy
since he was sixteen. Um, Dwayne has um all the
processing ability, has all the you know, he's a you

(01:43:12):
say this, he's a craftsman, you know what I mean?
He cares about all the little boring things that most
quarterbacks don't care about that ends up making you successful. Um,
he's a really good leader. Uh, he's a really good learner.
He's tough. Uh he does He's just I've always been
a huge fan of Joy when we had him a

(01:43:33):
lead eleven. You know, every year I've told you start
every year will kind of start like a little sideboard, like, Okay,
which guys are gonna play on Sunday? And he was
always you know him, Drew Lock, Josh Rose and Sam Donald,
Jared Goff. You know, we've been right on almost all
of them, like these guys are gonna play on Sunday
and Dwayne was one of those. No brain are gonna
play on Sunday and gonna play at a high level.

(01:43:55):
Why are people more into Drew Lock? I don't well,
you know, are they not? Or is it there's just
not that much need. If this was a draft that,
like say, six teams needed quarterbacks, I think people would
be fired up about the Redskins need a quarterback, Giants
need a quarterback. Cardinals believe that they don't have their quarterback,
meaning they need a quarterback right. Bengals Bengals need a quarterback? Uh?

(01:44:19):
Those are they? Do they need to? That's where I'm
always get confused. I mean, you have Andy Dalton's you
need a quarterback. Some would say yes, some would say no.
But I don't think on their board they're like, hey,
our number one needs a quarterback. I don't. I don't
think that's the conversation. The Bengals are happy. Um. But anyways,
and regardless, I just don't think there's that dying need

(01:44:41):
for quarterbacks, like we gotta have one this year and
we gotta throw them in the next year and plan.
I think Drew Locks, you're perfect developmental guy. I think
he's the first round developmental guy. He's a you know,
end of the first round Patriots or something like that.
That's grooming him to be the next guy because he
he checks every box except that box of played in

(01:45:06):
a highly complex system. You know, he has a lot
of reps. But he's not a guy that made a
ton of decisions. Um, and he needs some refining. That's
what I'm looking for. He just needs some refining. But
boys are fantastic athlete, is fantastic kid. He's tough as nails. Again,
another guy that can learn a lot of information. Another

(01:45:26):
guy that can integrate into locker room. He's a hooper,
you get it right. He was a big time AU hooper,
recruited at a very very high level. So he's been
around a lot of different people's whole life, a lot
of different crowds, a lot of different competition, and he
knows how to handle every situation. I just think he's
probably a year or two away where I think Dwayne
and Kyler can play rather quickly. All right, you do

(01:45:49):
you like everybody? Is there anybody who you're like? I
do not. I do not like Daniel Jones that much
as a as a top you know, as an early
round prospect. I think there's value there in the mid rounds.
I it blows my mind that he's been talked about
as an early first round pick. Is because of who

(01:46:10):
he plays for. Is because he's a really good athlete,
like in a basketball gym, Like what what is it?
Because he doesn't have a big arm, and maybe he
didn't play with great talent, but he also didn't elevate
the talent that he had. Like why why why has
he risen up draft boards? I think because that emailed
it the athleticism he played for cut Cliff rather. You know,
I wouldn't say complex scheme, but a pro developmental scheme. UM.

(01:46:34):
But yeah, it's all It's like, it's the it's the um.
It's the Ponder draft, right that that draft with Ponder
and Gabbert's and Locker, Remember that draft. It's the same.
None of none of those three quarterbacks were very good
college quarterbacks. But they all had really really good athleticism.
They all checked all the upside boxes. But they weren't

(01:46:56):
very good players and they turned out to be not
very good players when they got the NFL. That's who,
in my opinion, Daniel Jones is. He's a guy that
he looks the part. He has all the measurables. He
probably interviewed really well. He probably can spend out a
lot of good stuff on the board. Um, but when
you turn the tape on, he's just not a very
good quarterback yet. It's gonna take some time to teach

(01:47:19):
him to play the position at a high level. Now
it can happen. Uh, if Daniels in my office right now,
I was talking about, like bro, I would love to
have you in the third or fourth round. I'd love
to train you for. I'd love to give you the
Matt Hasselback experience right where you go sit behind a
really good player for a few years and then you know,
it takes a couple of years really become a good player.
But you know Matt had a five year growth process

(01:47:40):
before he was a legitimate NFL starter. At maybe the
case for Daniel Jones. Awesome stuff. Trent Dilfer, quarterback, savant,
head coach at Lipscomb Academy, super Bowl champion and always
good on Twitter. At Dilfer's times, Trent enjoyed, uh the
draft and watch it. Love your commentary and thanks for
joining us. Can't wait alright? Likewise, that's Trent l for

(01:48:04):
Let's get you Dan Byer and what else is going on?
When he got Doug Tonight of Game six in the
NBA Playoffs, Nuggets and Spurs at eight o'clock Eastern time
in San Antonio. Nuggets try to close it out well,
the Spurs looking to stay alive to force a Game seven.
Again eight o'clock Eastern time. It's the only game in
the NBA's night. There is news from the NBA. The
sacrament Sacramento Kings and the league will be conducting a

(01:48:26):
joint investigation into the sexual assault allegations made against King's
head coach Luke Walton. Walton has denied those allegations. Walton
formerly the coach of the Lakers or the Lakers who
are in the news. They actually led the NBA in
merchandise sales this past season. Maybe not much of a surprise,
as Lebron James came on board. Lebron's jersey, by the way,
the most popular jersey of any player in the league

(01:48:46):
this season. Bucks have the Celtics in the Eastern Conference
Semifinals starting Sunday, but they won't have Melcolm Brogdon for
the first two games. Guard has been ruled out as
he tries to return from a foot injury. Diamondbacks meet
the Pirates for nothing. Arizona has won four in a row. Well.
The Dodgers just defeated the Cubs two to one. Was
the final from Wrigley Cody Bellinger a sacrifice fly rb

(01:49:07):
I and Yes, the NFL Draft begins at eight o'clock
Eastern time tonight in Nashville. Our coverage here on Fox
actually begins at seven o'clock Eastern. Thomas Clay Travis is
a pre Draft Show, and then he hands it over
to Jay Glazer, Joe Clack, Chris Spielman and Rob Stone
for first round coverage. Speaking of coverage, Jaguars picked up
the fifth year option on the contract of cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

(01:49:28):
We'll be back to the Dug Gottlin Show in ten seconds,
But first a word from farmers at Farmers Insurance. We
know every windshield collision has a unique sound. Beetle bird, poop,
drone seen it, covered it, Dr Farmers, we are farmers
under written my Farmers druck Fire Insurance exchanges then affiliates
products unavailable every state. So Russell Wesprick's Books of the

(01:49:48):
Media Today had some interesting things to say. Essentially, um,
and I'm kind of paraphrasing now. If you wanted to
determine I'm actually quoting now. If you wanted to turn
in my career and what I've done over to three games,
you go ahead. That doesn't mean blank to me, doesn't
I'm gonna wake up like I told you before, three

(01:50:08):
beautiful kids. Wake up, smile, be happy, and enjoy My
life doesn't change anything. I know my capabilities, I know
what I've done, I know what I can do and
can't do. So I'm okay with that. I'm okay with
who I am. He goes on back to your point,
I don't really care what people say what they think
about me, because it doesn't matter. I know what I'm

(01:50:29):
able to do, and you know I'm able to do
at at a high level every night. Nobody else can
do what I can do on a night in, night
out basis. I truly believe that if they could, I'm
pretty sure they would. But I know for a fact
that nobody can. When you do it as much at
a high level, a lot of haters come. That's how
life is, man, that's life. When you do so much,

(01:50:53):
people are gonna try and pull and take away and
try and take that away from you. But nobody can
take that away from me. I've been blast and I
still I stay prayerful, stay thankful to be able to
do what I've been able to do, regardless of what
it is. How many stories are written, how many stats
have put up, how many numbers are put up. He

(01:51:16):
doesn't get it. He keeps talking like the haters, Like, dude,
we don't hate. Nobody is a hater. It's just if
you if you go by the stats, the greatest player
in the history of the NBA, or at least the
NBA right now. No one has average a triple double
since Oscar Robertson. No one's ever averaged a three years

(01:51:37):
in a row. You have, So if you want to
go by the stats, then Russell Westbrook is the best
player in the NBA and arguably the greatest player of
all time. The problem with it is the stats don't
mean much historically because they're all skewed because there's more
it's an offensive time and a three point heavy time.

(01:52:00):
Possessions are up, scorings are up, usages up, and that
helps all his stats be up. We saw you on
the floor against a contemporary who was viewed as an
inferior player, and he was the superior player. And this
is the third consecutive year you've been unable to get
out of the first round. We're not holding you to
some some sort of uh, we're not saying how many that.

(01:52:23):
This was always my argument about Tracy McGrady. Like Tracey
McGrady never got out of the first round technically, he
did late in his career with the San Antonio Spurs
when he was kind of actively retired, but as a
real player, never got on the first round. I'm not
saying how many championships you have to win, Russell, I'm
not saying how many NBA finals you have to get to. Russell.

(01:52:44):
You can't get out of the first round, and you
played a hero ball in the last three minutes when
you have a seven point lead. I know what I
can do. I know you don't. You actually don't know
what you're capable of. You don't understand what your teammates
are capable of, and you're unable to lift them to
a higher level. I don't think it's a perfect team,

(01:53:09):
but I also know that that the Portland Trailblazers aren't perfect.
They didn't have the starting center. Troublers are not a
great team. The guy who was better is the guy
you played the exact same position as and he lets
you up. So this isn't a this in a small

(01:53:32):
sample size isn't a small sample size argument. You're shooting
was worse this year than it had been previously. Your
free throw shooting somehow was worse. You've had four knee surgeries.
You're not gonna be a better athlete as you get older.
You gotta be a better shooter. You've gotta be a
smarter player. And he's still doing the same stuff, still

(01:53:52):
doing the same stuff, Yes, John Ramas, I always thought
one thing that we gage players on, at least great
players on sometimes was they always got something different. Like
one year they did this, and then they go and
from the off season they come back out and now
I have a back move. Now I could drive to
the back, Now I can post up. That was developed
something more than next season that made their arsenal even better.

(01:54:13):
And seems from what you're saying, Wrestle Restaurant hasn't done
any of that. No, that's that's not true. He's a
better I mean, like, look, he he did develop a
post game um at times this year. He did run
the team, but when he went back to his default,
which is default is I'm going to just do it
my damn self, and that don't work, and that don't work.

(01:54:36):
But more than anything, he didn't shoot the ball, better
tell the ball worse. Should we expect any surprises Tonight's
NFL Draft, be sure to catch live editions of The
Doug dot Leap Show weekdays at noon eastern three pm
Pacific at Farmers Insurance we know a roof can withstand
a lot, one exception being an airborne car seen it

(01:54:57):
covered it. Dr Farmers, we are underwritten my Farmers truck
fire Insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in every state
every day at this time. We like to get you
caught up in as many stories as possible. We do
so by getting to the press, the press. Damn bye,
what he got, Doug. We got a bunch of stories

(01:55:18):
and maybe a continuation of our musty TV draft that
took part in the first couple of hours of the show,
so we'll have to extend that. Let's start off with
some trade rumors in the NFL. Dolphins reportedly very interested
in Arizona's Josh Rosen. This according to the Miami Harold.
So the Dolphins could be one of the teams that

(01:55:40):
maybe Josh Rosen goes. Ryan Fitzpatrick is in their long
term guy, right, I think the Dolphins, I think the Redskins,
I think the Giants will all be interested. I think
he'll be moved tonight before the draft, forty Niners are
trying to trade Solomon Thomas. He was the third overall
pick just two years ago. Remember the Niners did the
swap with the Bears to allow them to get Mitchell Trobisky,
and then nine are settled in on Solomon Thomas. I

(01:56:02):
don't know, maybe it's a son of things to come
of what they're gonna do at number two because of
all the defensive lineman they have. Yeah, there's a there's
a a gluttony defensive lineman, and obviously they want they
think they get Nick Bosa. What do we do to
try and kind of change that they already got d Ford?
Uh makes some sense to try and get rid of
an asset, especially now that he's not not paid that

(01:56:22):
much at this point in time. And the ESPN reports
says the Redskins are split on the quarterback, that they're
like Bruce Allen and Daniel Snyder want Dwayne Haskins, Others
in the organization want Dukes Daniel Jones. I would guess
that that that Josh Rosen is the guy that they
probably want the most. It's just what are they willing
to pay to get him? By the way, the NFL
network in the ESPN reportedly have been told by the

(01:56:43):
NFL to not reveal the first overall pick for tonight's draft.
But what about Fox yeah. Uh, listen to Jay Glazer
right here on Fox Sports Radio. Zion Williamson's name was
brought up at the college basketball corruption trial again, as
was Marvin Bagley. J Yeah. Video shows Clemson assistant Steve

(01:57:04):
Smith talking to Christian Dawkins about getting xience at Clemson
and USC's Tony Bland captured on video talking about trying
to pay Marvin Bagley to get him to go to
the Trojan. Let's not bury the lead. Steve Smith's an
assistant on the basketball program at Clemson, and he threw
the football program under the bus in the wire tap,
saying it's a small town. Guys can show up, you know,

(01:57:24):
get something done. He didn't say dollar figure amounts, but
he basically said, Hey, this is how they this is
how they roll at Clemson in football. Uh. My guess
is Steveson is gonna have a really tough time. I
know Steve um. And what's interesting about Steve was he
and those Clemson guys were telling people, Hey, we're totally

(01:57:45):
cleaning this wire tap stuff. That's what's that's what's impressive
about it turns out he wasn't. They were in fact
wire tapped, and there was some interesting things said on there,
even though there wasn't a dollar figure actually mentioned. Despite
not making the NBA playoffs, the Lakers let the entire
NBA and merchandise sales this past season. Lakers for with
Lebron James of the most popular jersey of any player

(01:58:05):
in the league. Well, again, it's the new jersey, right,
a completely different jersey. You're not gonna wear Lebron Calves
Remami he jersey. Um, there are no Calves jerseys burned
this time, although they were last time. But I would
I would guess. In addition to all the rest of
the guys, and they also had the new they had
some new jerseys as well. The Mamba Knights I think
are not new, but again you have Lebron regular Lebron

(01:58:28):
purple Lebron Mamba Knights, like all those new jerseys. That's
really the rookies and star players and new teams sell
the most jerseys. One side notes, Kevin dem Off in
advance of the Rams draft did say to season ticket
holders that the team is progressing for their new uniforms.
They want to honor the past, yet us you're in

(01:58:48):
a new era as part of these new uniforms. MS.
That's what I wonder the only ones to get rid
of those St. Louis Rams home, but the gold just
the old Rams uniforms work. I tweeted out that the
history of the Rams in l A Is their biggest
advantage in this city. It's I don't think so that

(01:59:09):
they win. They won this past year, they made it
to the Super Bowl. There's not a huge there's not
a huge turnover of Rams fans. You might also make
the ones that have been with you happy. I don't
understand that, but let's see what they do, because you know,
I remember when the Broncos used to have the broncho
on the side the helmet. Then they switched to well
it looked like a renal League uniforms, and then that

(01:59:30):
that became their uniforms, and anything else feels weird. So
change is inevitable, but I would agree like I like
the retro look. Charge Chargers, by the way, win the
year when the off season they decided to go powder
blue as their regular uniforms. And by the way, look
for possible change to the uniform policy in that will
allow teams to once again use different color where different
colored helmets that can be on the horizon. Next year. Um,

(01:59:52):
quick question, is anybody else bothered by the NBA move
where we have home teams wearing dark uniforms. Yeah? I
don't like how you just have any uniform you want
to wear, Like, oh, you want were blue tonight? Like cool?
Like last night the Warriors were blue? Why I get
to sell the uniforms? The Bucks wore all white or
wore white and their entire series against the Pistons twice

(02:00:14):
at home and then twice on the road. So, um, no,
I didn't didn't They could have gone skins in one
if they wanted to. Do. You want to wrap up
our draft our Musty TV. Now we've got four additional
picks remaining, so it'll go John, Doug, myself, and Vince
And if you're just tuning in, we've been drafting characters

(02:00:36):
from the Musty TV lineup of the show's Cheers, Seinfeld
and friends. Uh. The order of the picks. John took
Sam Alone, Doug took George, Costanza, took Kramer, then Vince
went Elaine and Phoebe. On the back end, I took Ross,
Doug took Jerry, John took Woody and Newman. Doug then
grabbed onto Fraser. I had Cliff, Vince took Joey and

(02:00:56):
Frank Costanza. I then took coach from the early days.
That's Doug went Norman, John went Chandler. So there's a
lot of names and we could even do bit parts
as part of these players. So John, you're on the
clock for your final pick of our musty TV lineup.
I'm gonna go with a man who is a well
known in the world of Seinfeld and that's Mr Peterman.

(02:01:32):
All right, Doug J. Peterman's off the board. Anybody you gots? Uh?
Can I get the guy with lifts and his shoes,
the little person with the lips? No, Jimmy was the
basketball player who talked about himself in third person? Or
do I get again? I go Sup Nazi? Let's go
Sup Nazi. I like that. You got a bad no

(02:02:00):
soup for you? What do you no soup for you?
You know what I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go on
re from good Old Show cheers, remember on the Frenchman
in the world today takes everything you've got, taking a
break from all your worries? Sure? What hell along? What

(02:02:22):
don't you like to get away? Ah? Yes, Finally Vince
gets the final pick. I am going with a three
for on this one. I'm going Mandel bomb remember them, Doug. Yeah,

(02:02:45):
one episode, one episode, there we go. Good stuff, good stuff. Well,
speaking of Seinfeld, I believe Arizona is gonna do what
George did to some limited success, which is to the
opposite of what you're supposed to do. And look, he
got the woman's phone number, didn't he Arizona's gonna land
themselves a diminutive quarterback with an unproven coach and a
shoddy offensive line, and then they're gonna have to get

(02:03:06):
rid of Josh Rosen for pennies on the dollar. Outside
of that, I think it's a great plan. Enjoy the
NFL Draft. Our coverage begins in one hour. McLay, Travis,
