So before we move on and talk about Geno Smith
and there's an update on the Catel Marte story, let's
take one quick phone call now eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox Everything at Covino and Rich about this

(01:56):
Bachtiari wedding snub. He felt slighted clearly based on his
tweet that he wasn't invited to Aaron Rodgers's wedding. So
I believe JR Jr. Only in Indianapolis about it? What's
up Jr?

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Now?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Much?

Speaker 5 (02:12):
How you doing?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Fellasyboy man?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
What do you how do you feel is this is
this a diss, a sneak diss nothing? Are you not
reading into it or what I mean?

Speaker 5 (02:20):
The relationship between a center and a quarterback is kind
of sacred anyway. You give him my herniea chick how
many times a year? I mean, so I guess you
down here that long? I mean, you know, I would
feel like you didn't play with my balls a long time.
So you know, you just we probably should be able
to have a relationship where I get invited to your way.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
It's a relationship like none other, You're right, I mean
it could be a work relationship. Hey, not everyone gets
invited from the office. But I'm saying there's an intimacy
between a center and a quarterback that you know. I mean,
I'm sorry, he's a tackle, but yeah, there's a there's
a relationship there where you know, you're a you're in
the you're in it together. He's protecting Aaron Rodgers. I

(03:02):
don't know anyway. Yeah, but you know what else it's
like too, there's that weird feeling of the people that
stayed at the job, right, and then you leave and
you work with a bunch of different other people in
their mind, they still think of you as yeah, you
used to work with them, but meanwhile, you that person

(03:23):
was just one of many other people you met along
the way. It's hard to explain, but what I'm trying
to say is Aaron Rodgers has dealt with a lot
of other linements since that guy. We thought they were tight.
And you know what, I just want to wrap it
by saying, if you were ever quote dissed and not
invited somewhere, never take it seriously because I'm just that person. Really,

(03:46):
that is that big of a deal. I mean, come on,
I read.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
Once that you can, like psychologists say, you can only
really have about a relationship with about two hundred people
where you remember their name, remember things about them. You
actually you know, you have it back and forth. And
I think that that two hundred peop well, it changes
over the years. You know, you have new people you
work with and maybe they they take a spot, They
take up those spots, they go to the wedding. So yeah,
it's it's hard to remember everybody from your past and

(04:10):
make sure everyone's invited. I think it looks it looks
like this he's just had a small wedding and he
could invite everything exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
The reality is something I've thought over the years is,
by the way, if you're angry at a friend because
of that, let it go. It's lamb. Yeah did buyer?
Let me ask you, if you don't mind me ask you,
what year to do you and your wife get married?
Twenty seventeen? Okay? I wonder in the last eight years,
how different would your wedding guest list look? Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Completely?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
My wife and I often talk about how we look
at our We had about one hundred and fifty people.
She's from Texas, I'm from New York. Of those one fifty,
we imagine maybe half of them would still be invited,
and there's a slew of new people that clearly would
have been in. Life changes changes and more for some
people than others.

Speaker 7 (04:54):
I'm also a firm believer, and I think I've said
this to you guys on the show where I just
I think some people are in your lives for just
a certain period of time into the friendship, maybe five years,
maybe ten years. Not everything is a lifelong friendship in.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
The reason or a season. Some they say, all right,
so yeah, just moves in and out. If you guys,
go back to your early radio careers.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
You probably have what one or two people you'd like
to pluck out of that and be like, yeah, he's
coming to the wedding, great friend from twenty years ago,
Like you can't. You know, you have people that come
in and out of your life.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
It's just normal.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
It's natural, you know, really, And the best way to
look at it is think of a job you had,
not just in radio or TV, you're broadcasting, whatever you
do for a living. Think your old job. How many
people do you talk to from that place? The answer
might be one or two, But at the time you
were like man Hank in accounting, we go out for
beers every Thursday night football and you might not have
seen Hank in fifteen years. So just remember it's it's

(05:43):
I guess what Hank might still be there and you
had like three or four jobs since.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
I also think though, that David Baktiari knows what flack
Aaron Rodgers gets for his relationships or lack thereof. That's
fun and in that book, and that's that's what I
don't know. Is it him busting chops or is he
truly calling him out? Because in that book that Ian
O'Connor wrote last year, you were either in the inner circle,

(06:11):
or you won't or you weren't, and sometimes without warning
you were dropped. Some people make it back in and
some people don't. But he's not like any other player
in the NFL that we have that So him bringing
that up, I think is pretty interesting because Rogers just
is looked at differently because of his lack of relationships
with his family and whatnot.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
The articles that I'm reading about it is that it
clearly ticked off Bochdori. But for all we know, he's
busting chops, right, we don't know, So that's the story
your feedback at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Now,
I know Danny gets so irritated by the Roger stuff,
But Danny, there is a level of aren't you a
little intrigued to.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Like, is he gonna really four minutes full segment?

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Is he gonna connect with anyone intil he said twenty
four minutes? Oh, I'm sorry? Will he get all of
a sudden? We can be like, manh look at him
and DK Metcalf, they're bros or y'all him and Tomlin
chopping it up. They look like the best. Like I
wonder how We're all going to be just watching his moves.
It's sort of you know, it's on us, but we'll
be watching. Well, there's another story involving an NFL quarterback.

(07:17):
That quarterback is Danny G's quarterback, Dan Byer's old quarterback,
Geno Smith. Geno Smith trending this weekend raiders QB got
into it. Got into a fight at a football game
this weekend. He's going back and forth verbal fight, argument,
little verbal tussle, a back and forth with some of

(07:40):
the people in the stands, and he's quoted as screaming
back and forth. That's why I get paid the big bucks.
That's why I get paid the big bucks. And video
surface of this back and forth in the stands, and
he posted. Geno Smith later posted having fun with the game.
I love man. The need for clicks and negativity takes

(08:01):
away from the great event that happened this past weekend.
All the kids had fun and competed all around. Great event.
This is how we talk in Dade Country. In Dade Country,
I'm sorry you might not understand. Carry on. So he's
there coaching these kids and these parents get all wild,
and parents are wild. That's why you see those signs. Remember, parents,

(08:23):
the kids are watching. You gotta behave be the adult.
But he went on and carried on. But he's saying
it's not a big all competitive.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
The team he's playing against was called Raw Miami, so yeah,
it was just the environment, I think.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
So he was just smack. To me, that was just
smack talking back and forth. But some of the parents
trying to get under his skin. Why not it's Gino Smith. Well, again,
this falls under the category of we got to know
the whole story before you make an assessment, like because
the initial thing was like Gino Smith flight off the handle. No,
he's just sort of having fun with it. And that's
what he says. And you know what, I didn't think

(09:01):
we'd hear more about this k Tell Marte story. But
the reality is that we all agreed last week. We're
like this dirt bag fan talking about his deceased mother,
and we were all in agreement, like what are we
doing right?

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Right?

Speaker 8 (09:18):
But we did point out though, and I'm glad Dan
Bayer did that the Martel at the could tell news
about his mom that wasn't a story we all knew about.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Yeah, that wasn't like pol part of this update and
from what we understand and the update is the fan
that got banned for life or you know whatever, that's
a band social media, a band for the for who
knows how long we're we're learning that the thing he
screamed was I texted your mom last night. And you

(09:50):
could argue that that is simply nothing more than like
a lame yo mama joke or like, hey, your mother.
It was a bad yo mama joke to the worst
person possible. And when the manager got all mad, like
ufen whatever, his mother died, the fan apparently was remorseful

(10:11):
right away, which means could it when we look at
the whole story, could it be that he just put
his foot in his mouth in a major way and
be like, oh your mom, not realizing the guy lost
his mom. Does that change the story for you at all?
It does a little bit. Mom's always be off limits.
I mean, it was just a yo mama joke to
the absolute worst person he could probably pick to say

(10:33):
one too, so bad timing. He's made an example of.
He's banned for life. Everybody sees his stupid face all
over the place. Now that you know, does the punishment
and the amount of attention that the story got does
it match the actual crime.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
I am glad you guys brought this up because this
was a bone that I wanted to pick, and I
talked about it a little bit yesterday with my Sunday
show with Mike Harmon because I said something when you
were talking about it communic because I disagreed with you
on that day, and I said, one of the reasons
why I felt so strongly about it was because I
don't think that this escapes Martel or Marte for just

(11:17):
it coming and going like this is going to stick
with him. It's stuck with him the next day, then
he goes to Arizona. Then there's the standing ovation, and
I just bring this up. Do you know that he's
two for sixteen since the incident.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Wow?

Speaker 7 (11:30):
And he struck out for the first time this season,
struck out three times in a game on Friday night,
struck out two more times in the game prior to
that on Wednesday. So you don't tell me this hasn't
affected him. I believe for everything that like went down.
So excuse me if I feel sorry. I don't feel
sorry for the fan. Even though it's you know, wrong place,

(11:52):
wrong time. There are consequences to it, and it's obviously
had an effect on Cotel Marte, where again he did
Homer twice this weekend. Those were his only two hits
that he's had since the incident. And it just doesn't
seem necessarily like everything is AOK.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
In that sort of world.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
It's so tough, you know why, because we often preach
here on the Coveno and Rich Show, well would you
do it? So? Why would we defend something I don't like?
I don't I don't like to defend jokes all that much,
but I do understand how innocent you omama joke could be?

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Right?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Your mama's so short you can see her feet in
her license photo, Like, okay, that's funny your mama. So
but you say that she wore a Malcolm K shirt
and a helicopter landed on her. You say that to
someone who just lost their mom or is super sensitive.
Now you said it to the wrong person. But guess what,
here's the flip side to that. We've all said something

(12:46):
out of place or foot and mouth sort of situation
where we meant no harm by it, and this guy
just did it on the on the highest of levels possible,
like Stot put his foot in his mouth at our
convention recently. What happened, I can't say, but he brought
up somebody who was deceased and like, oh man, I
forgot or I didn't know. You know, that's sort of

(13:07):
awkward because it happened sometimes. But this just became a
national story. So now that you know what he said, Hey, yo,
I texted your mom last night, which seems kind of harmless,
really turned out to be not harmless at all. He's
two for sixteen cents the show. I keep telling you that,
I know you're never gonna walk. Maybe Dan Byral because

(13:28):
he's a golf fan. But stick with Owen Wilson on
Apple TV like getting paid by Apple TV. He's like
everything he watched there is the best. Are you trying
to make the most of your subscription? I think Apple
TV has some of the best stuff. I think you
watch corny documentaries on their payday. They watch about poop.
I will back him up, Cavino. Their shows are well
made where I want it. On this Apple endorsement that

(13:51):
Rich paid, he's getting paid every time he shouts it's
not true at all. I wish they did big Apple
Rich over here. Yeah, big apple Dicky. So my point
is on the show, there was a scene where someone
did the whole like, well, you wouldn't know because you
don't have kids, And they said that to someone who
lost a kid, and like that can be like you're

(14:12):
not hearing, you wantn't know, and it's like you're not
you don't think you know he lost his kids. And
see how that person would be, you know, infurious. So
but the other person just didn't know. But I'm so
torn on this because, like Dan said, and you and
I we the covenio on ritual, I'm not sticking up
for someone that did some dumb crap I wouldn't do.
I would never yell at someone yeah you mother, So

(14:32):
I can't stick up for him. But I do see
the corny innocence of a your mama joke said to
an athlete who unfortunately was his mom in to tragic.

Speaker 7 (14:41):
He just did a couple of weeks ago. Things we
love about baseball here, no one said your mama jokes.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Now I said.

Speaker 7 (14:48):
Chatter right that Chad's great, Yes, and there's and that
comes within it. But I just feel that there's consequences
and when you're in a ballpark that's mostly empty. I mean,
the White Sox aren't good, you know, so who's dying
to go to a White Sox Diamondbacks game?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
You're sitting that clothes? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
By the way, then I'm not trying to be contrarian here,
but part of the chatter we had in my high
school team was making fun of each other's mom all
the time.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
I'm not even kidding.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
We had songs about everybody's mom.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
But but you're not saying, You're like, come on, get
pitching strikes.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
You know your mama's fat.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Come on, now, you're not saying.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
But now that we know what he said, right, because
weren't you weren't you expecting like the worst sort of thing. Yeah,
now that you hear it, it is a lot more
innocent than we thought. Yeah, Soul is the same.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
Now it seems like he should have been banned for
the season, not for lots of it's like a definite band.
It's considered an indefinite band.

Speaker 7 (15:39):
I think that's honestly, guys, I think it's a perfect
spot for a quote unquote learning experience here. You go,
you know, have the guy do something or be involved
in something. He's twenty two he's young enough to know
like make a make a change or do something about it.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
To I like that.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I love that. In fact, that would be for him
to get access back.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
I love him to apologize, like publicly, or get them
together and just be like I just didn't know. But
the PSA is, you never know what people are going through,
right you just create this. That would be an MLB.
You never know, you never know, you know, a little
campaign on, you know, just talking ass about what you
might not realize. Hey, I'm a Duibus mcgert whatever the

(16:22):
kid's name is. Regret what I said to Kutel Marte
and I apologize. Martell gives him a hug, you know
what I can. But the truth is, you never know
what anyone's going through. And I apologize the truth and
then it goes to one you never know, you never know.
Brought to you by MLB. So hey, knowing the whole
story is important. But again, I always think we should

(16:43):
all go by the kaveno on Rich golden rule. It's
not treat others how you want to be treated. That's
that's the golden rule. The kaveno on Rich golden rule
is when someone athlete, celebrity musicians. Someone gets in trouble
and your instinct is like, well should I defend them?
Ask yourself, well, would I do that? Did you do that?
Would I scream out of yo mama joke to an

(17:03):
MLB ballplayer? Probably not. I would say definitely not some guy.
But as you know, I'm definitely a little different than
what I some young player cheating on his girlfriend. You're like, yeah,
I would have done that. I was dumb in my
twenties two. I accept that.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
It's always a punk move.

Speaker 8 (17:18):
When you know they're in a position of power or
a high stakes kind of career job and they can't
really say anything back, that's always a yeah, like.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
You know what, it's a again. Whatever the scenario is.
When you see some athlete get behind the wheel when
they're drunk, I want.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
To do that.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Why would you? You know, like you're defending people in scenarios,
always ask yourself, would I because there are times you
will You'd be like, you know, I would like, hey,
I was out and uh, you know, out in the mountain.
I did something dumb, like people do dumb things, But
you got to ask yourself.

Speaker 7 (17:49):
I use the example of rolling through a stop sign.
We've all done it, and then you hit somebody on
a bike and there are different consequences, and that's so
that same thing you hit somebody, it's I mean, yeah,
and that's where and that's where, like it's wrong place,
wrong time. But he's not the innocent one here, he's
not the victim in.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
All of this.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
And now you know the rest of the story. And
did it change your opinion on it? Eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. And remember everybody's going through something different,
you never know. And now we ask you for your
phone calls if you want to play last One Standing,
because that's next for the coveted, highly coveted Swiggy because

(18:30):
we only have like five we o as our stainless
steel Midnight black Water bottle. And by the way, times
change of how we receive and deliver messages. Right, our
buddy Michael Yoho, what's up? Yeah? Veas he goes, you know,
he interviews a lot of celebrities doing their stuff he
does on TV, and he said, uh, remember back in
the day, it was so common to ask a celebrity like, yo,

(18:50):
you're going to have kids or what? And now it's like,
we don't know who can have kids or not and
like like many questions we've asked or things or things
threw around. So nilly Willie, I was on a really
event and Michael Yo could probably relate to this too.
And you're there, You're just scramming, scramming, scramrambling, really scrambling.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
You're scrambling, will you.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
You're scrambling for questions to ask these people, right, scrammling.
And I go to this celebrity at the time, So
you're here to party, have a good time, getting trash tonight.
I meant, by the way, I meant nothing by that.
But it was an actress who was like recovering close
and she took it all personal and got like major

(19:35):
attitude with me. But all I was really saying is, Yo,
you're here to have some fun tonight. But I was
just asking a dumb question. I'm a twenty year old
broadcaster and it sounds like a Curb your Enthusiasm plot.

Speaker 8 (19:46):
Yeah, like that's infensitive. Rich made mistake with one of
our callers a few weeks back. Remember, Oh yeah, they
were they were recovering alcohol. Yeah, and I was like, hey,
you sound drunk, and he goes, I've been cleaned for
ten years. Like, I'm sorry it happened.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
That's right, and this just happened on the highest of
levels where the whole world took note. So that's the update, guys. Again,
the numbers eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. If
you want to play Last One Standing, it's the game

(23:02):
it matter. You don't want to take your hug back
any less, right, Marte, come here, bring it in, buddy.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Right.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
You don't think about him any differently knowing the rest
of the story. But the kid that said it, it
does change how you feel about what he said, because
it wasn't that bad if you just joined us, he said,
it was just a regular yo mama joke. Have texted
your mom, like, texted your mom last night. That's what

(23:30):
the update is, with no understanding whatsoever that this dude's
mom had passed away tragically. So the moral of the
story is you never know what people are going through.
And now we go to your phone call, not malicious
as we thought, Daniel and San Jose. What's up, Daniel?

Speaker 9 (23:44):
Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 1 (23:45):
What's ahead? Quick?

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Hey?

Speaker 9 (23:48):
So is that with a friend of mine? One time
we were at a tavern and he asked the bartender
when are you do and she goes, not pregnant?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Well, dude, we witness at a serious extent back of
the day, and the woman got real match. She's like,
I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat. And walked away, and
and I witnessed this, and we're yeah, never say that, never,
never assumed pregnancy. That's why I just rubbed the billion
and say, he's going to be a soccer player. He
is Charles and Wheeling, West Virginia. Hey, Charleston, how's it going.

Speaker 9 (24:19):
I really appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (24:22):
Yeah, I was just interested in this whole situation because
I don't think the punishment fits the crime. I think
in this situation, yeah, the guy said something terrible, but
I think that is a part of dealing with the
fan base. It's kind of a part of the player's
contract to have to deal with that. Even though what
happened is absolutely terrible, I don't think he should be

(24:44):
indefinitely banned because of that.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I think we're all feeling that the indefinite is a
little extreme now that we're hearing this. It's a lesson
that we learn over and over again. That's to get
the whole story before you make an assumption. Remember at
the Olympics, we all thought that boxer was a a man,
but it was like, yeah, she was a biological woman,
and every we got it wrong.

Speaker 7 (25:03):
You gotta know the whole story. And indefinite is just
they don't know how long it's gonna go. Doesn't mean
it's infinity, you know, it's like it's indefinite. They haven't
said maybe it's the rest of this year, who knows,
but they just haven't put in an end date though
true yet All.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
One, Last One, Andy and Rhode Island. Then we play
our game What's Up Andy? Hey by Zabody.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
When I look at it, fans can be idiots, I
definitely understand that.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
But with Stems, that seems that was, hey, what are
you gonna go to be kissing?

Speaker 1 (25:31):
As you know, you gotta weigh it out and it's
and it's tough.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Because it's harrib.

Speaker 9 (25:36):
I definitely don't agree with you know, how we made
the player felt. But as fans, you know, fans have
too much power.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
How about that?

Speaker 5 (25:44):
They have too much power.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
They can say what they want and.

Speaker 9 (25:46):
It's sucks for the athlete at times. So I do
side with the athlete. But you know, just play a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
That was avocate it's.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
True and remember fans, remember people. There's always consequences and
that's what we're witnessing. So thank you for hanging out
with us. Covino and Rich. And now it's time for
Last one Standing.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia
love m. Put your electronic devices down and pick your
sports knowledge.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
It's CNRS Last one Standing, Last one standing.

Speaker 8 (26:26):
All right, I have four categories ready to go if
needed a tie breaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to
stay alive in the round. If you run out of
time or answer incorrectly, Iowa Sam will take you out
with this sound.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I do not want to hear that bull.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Nightmares that buck.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
We keep battling until you are the last one standing.
If you win two of the rounds, you are the
top dog. Here are the contestants. Seven time winner Steve
Covino right over this Dan seven, every week you save
one of nope to his right. Eleven time winner Rich Davis, Hey, hey,
the leader in the clubhouse.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Thirty time winner Dan Byer, thank you.

Speaker 8 (27:03):
And let's got I know, almost unstoppable, And let's go
to the studio lines to see who's playing for C
and R stainless steel Swiggy one of the last Swiggys
in our inventory, hopefully for Cooper in Bristol, Florida.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
What up, Coop?

Speaker 8 (27:15):
Hey, that's hey, Cooper right outside Tallahassee Rightler, what do
you do for a living there.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
I'm a correction ulcer.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Oh nice, thank You's like the big boss man. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
By the way, spot is the fact checker during this game.
I hate it.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
Lots of anxiety for Spotty. All right, so be patient
with him.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Here we go.

Speaker 8 (27:35):
First category, not so friendly Skies. You have five seconds
to name an NFL team that will be traveling the
most miles in the air this upcoming season. NFL team
top sixteen for most miles traveling coming up for the season.
All right, Covino, I'm gonna start with you as soon
as the timer goes right now.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
The Denver Broncos, the Denver Broncos number nine with twenty
three thousand rich The Jacksonville Jaguars, The Jacksonville Jaguars number four,
twenty nine thousand and six.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
All right, Buyer Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
The Seahawks number three, thirty one, three oh two. Coop,
Buffalo Bill the Bills, nonemenless, Oh not in the top sixteen, sorry, Cooper.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Back to Covino.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
The Jets, the Jets. They're the Jets. They are the Jets. Ironically, nonethless,
they're Jets.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Sorry, anywhere.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Jee would you call these old?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Why would you hear the Jets.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
If you're not?

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Why it's between Rich and Buyer.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
Rich the forty nine Ers number five, twenty eight three
sixty three Buyer Chargers, Chargers number one, thirty seven eight
six Rich the Rams Rams number two, thirty four eight
thirty two dB.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
I'm gonna go Kansas City.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Chiefs number ten, twenty one six ninety five Rich Eagles
Eagles not on the list.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
Buyer wins that round this international game.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
I was thinking Chargers are in Brazil, right, The Niners,
I believe are in Mexico City or maybe not. I
don't know what I was thinking about.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
What other teams on the list their spot?

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Well, you rounded off the top five, but after that
Falcons number six with twenty five nine to four to
seven Colts.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
They're in Germany, I think.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Yeah, see Biking Cowboys, Commanders. Yeah, I was thinking of
the coastal teams that had an international game or definitely
gonna be absolutely all right.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Nice.

Speaker 8 (29:40):
One second category, as buyer is on the board, ballers
on the ballot, you have five seconds to name players
who are MLB leaders in All Star voting at their position.
To this point. By the way, this is today's update
from Fox Sports. They listed twenty eight players in their
updated article, twenty eight players for you to name, all right,

(30:00):
leaders in their positions in All Star voting, and Coop,
you're gonna be a was doing.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
All of them are just the number one at an exposition.

Speaker 8 (30:09):
If they if they, it's up to you, guys. I
said twenty eight because the twenty eight are listed. So
all right, here we go. Cooper and Florida.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
You're gonna be up first as soon as the timer starts, okay,
you know what?

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Hey, sorry, okay, because now I'm poorly prepared. Whenever you're ready, spot,
stop it.

Speaker 8 (30:29):
Hold on, yes, spot, if you just go to that article, yeah, god,
hold on, sorry, hold on, all right, that's a drop.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
That's not me a rush of the spot I know. Okay, Coop,
you're up first, go oh show it?

Speaker 1 (30:42):
Okay, of course, yes, on the list?

Speaker 2 (30:45):
Fire all rise Aaron Judge, Aaron Judge on the list, Yes, Sir.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Rich Mookie Bets. Mookie Bets on the list, Covino cal Rawly.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
On the list, Cooper, Jack Hollard, what's that? Who's that?

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Jackson Holliday on the list.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, Buyer, Pete Crow Armstrong, Pete Crow Armstrong on the.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Rich, Elie de la Cruz. No, wait, I'm taking it back, Okay, back,
I don't want to do that. I realized that I
think I.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Have three two.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
All right, I'll do Ellie Delacris.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Uh, not on the list. I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Cove which jr.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Let's see.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Yes on the Duke on the list, Cooper Sorry?

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Uh what are you saying?

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Riley Green?

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Uh on the list?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Nice drop Coup buyer, Will Smith, Will Smith Dodgers. Yes
on the list. Yes?

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Is this uh? Position players only or pictures too? Now,
pictures haven't been out yet, so they haven't, right of course.
That's well no, because I heard some of the potential
league leaders here. I'll go with gold Schmidt because I
think he's up there.

Speaker 8 (32:08):
Yeah on the list, yes, Cooper one so no, sorry,
all right, it's between Buyer and Covino buyer ta Oscar Hernandez.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
See you in there?

Speaker 5 (32:21):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (32:24):
No is the last one standing?

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:28):
All right?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
You know I was thrown off in this category. I'm
making I'm rich here, making making excuses. I know that
there was an article, Danny g that you and I
were sharing about how like Dodgers that might not even
deserve it or on it because big markets beat out
small markets, which is why when I said Eli de
la Cruz, I knew I was wrong right away because
part of the article was how it got like Mookie

(32:50):
Betts is losing tim and every category a nice social
media buzz that I agree with completely about, like fan
voting for MLB is so lame, like it should be
like are you good enough to be in the All
Star team?

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah, that's why I just picked a lot of Dodgers. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
I saw the Mookie got it and they're like yes,
and I heard him has led it.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
One was in one of them. Yeah, that's about who
we miss. To be honest, I can't remember.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
But let's see Kirk Junior going to be on there. Yes,
Kwan on the Guardians. You say trout, Ben Rice okay,
Ben Rice be Pete Alonzo Alonzo, Huh, I missed.

Speaker 8 (33:34):
My guy do And by the way, if you want
to check out this article, it's MSN dot com, Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
No, I miss Lindor. I thought he was getting snuffed.
The point is, if you're not following, there's a lot
of undeserving players that just get a ton of votes
when other dudes are having monster seasons, they just don't
have the votes.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
That's stupid on the board.

Speaker 8 (33:53):
So far, so far, Buyer Covino, third round here, King
of the boards. You have five seconds to name an
NBA team that the great Dennis Rodman had a career
high of twenty six or more rebounds against in a
single game against. Yeah, against, So this is ARB pulled
down at least twenty six or more boards against these teams.
There's fifteen answers on the board. Covino, you're gonna be

(34:15):
a first starting right now.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
The Knicks nix uh to the list. The nets, the
nets there twenty six buyer out Lakers.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Lakers, Oh wait, not the.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
I wait to help them. Dude needs one.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
If he gets what head cool so Celtics, Celtics not.

Speaker 8 (34:41):
The list starts over, keep going, all right, we'll start over, covene,
start over.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Let me think about this. Then there's no strategy. Seventy
six seventy six ers, yeah's on the list. Twenty six
Clippers Clippers, not of them just under who was really hated.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
The Hornets so you would get a lot of rebound.

Speaker 10 (35:05):
Jets were number two yol Cooper, I love it so no, sorry,
I just like the Sonics poll. Yeah, let's do.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Three literally anyone two Phoenix suns.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Uh No, that leaves Buyer and he wins the game.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
That was fun. I know we're running. I know we'll
go to damn Buyer's update, but let's be honest. Categories
like that are guessing other ones are more skill, but
it makes it for makes it fun.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Who was weak on that boy?

Speaker 8 (35:49):
By the way, Pacers, Maps, Kings, Rocket Time, Timberwolves, Magic,
thunder Caps, heat Bucks, Sixers, Spurs, Warriors.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
You knew I was gonna say, yeah, no, I'm telling
you same magic. And then I'm thinking, well, when did
his career start and when did they become I don't
know whatever, Yo, DV. Let's hit us up with enough obvious.
Thank you, jem Byer.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Sorry about that.

Speaker 7 (36:10):
We should have thought more Eastern Conference because he played
for the Bulls and Pistons, you know, like maybe not
as many opportunities, but anyway, we got some breaking news
from the NBA. The Memphis Grizzlies and Jaron Jackson Junior
have agreed to a five year MAX extension where two
hundred and forty million dollars. Grizzly is also working on
a buyout for Cole Anthony, who was brought over as
part of the Desmond Bay deal. The Houston Rockets have

(36:32):
signed Dorian Finney Smith to a four year deal worth
fifty three million dollars. Utah Jazz and guard Jordan Clarkson
agreed to a buyout, making him a free agent. Nicks
will have a second interview with Mike Brown for their
head coaching vacancy. The WNBA is expanding to eighteen teams,
heading Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia. They should all be in
place by twenty thirty. The Florida Panthers have signed Brad
Marchand to a six year extension. The Vegas Golden Knights

(36:55):
are acquiring Mitch Marner from the Toronto Maple Leafs, as
he's agreed to an eight year deal. As part of
the trade, Steelers acquired corner Gealen Ramsey, titan John neu
Smith plus the seventh round pick from the Dolphins today
for safety Minka Fitzpatrick and a fifth round pick. Finally,
guys at Wimbledon, second seat Carlos Okarez needed five sets,
but the defending champ was able to move on at
Day one at the All England Club.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Back to you, Thank you dans Dan having on on
your thirty first victory and my thoughts about the greatest
owner in sports, Steve Cohen. He put out a tweet
and it's got people chatting. We do it next right
here on Fox Sports Radio. Now we're talking Mungo, Jerry
bro Summertime Living's Easy, Cavino and Rich live from the

new hats for the summer. Thanks again in the summertime
when the weather is fine, Travismatthew dot com. I gotta
talk about my dude, Steve Collin for a second before
we get out of here. The Mets have off today,

(38:41):
a much needed breather, i'd imagine, But Steve Collen put
on social media after the asswhoop and the Pirates gave
him how was embarrassing?

Speaker 2 (38:49):
It really was.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
If the Yankees weren't playing like almost as bad, you'd
be so far up on our bet right now. Oh
my god, it's your right.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Not much better.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
But there's about ten teams that are all within two
games of each other, you could argue great for baseball,
the Dodgers are the only team that are a good
maybe three or four games better. But Steve Cohen, owner
of the Mets, now, I must also say not only
owner of the Mets, lifelong Mets fan. That's what makes
Steve Cohen and billionaire and billionaire. But that's what makes
Steve Cohen unique in that not only is a billionaire

(39:22):
owner there's a lot of those, but grew up liking
the Mets. In fact, it was a mystery for years,
believe it or not, who owned the Mookie Wilson, Bill
Buckner ball. Turns out it's Steve Cohen. He's, you know,
a rich guy that bought it years and years ago,
owns the Mets. Fans love him. The will Pond stunk.
Steve Cohen rules. He put out a tweet and I

(39:43):
just think this is great. Now I'll tell you why.
I think we want our owners to feel invested. Steve
Cohen wrote, tough stretch, no sugarcoating it. I didn't see
this coming. I'm as frustrated as everybody else. You will
get through this period. Our injured pitching will come back

(40:03):
over the next few weeks. It is unlikely the team's
hitting with runners in scoring position will continue at this
weak pace. Keep the faith, let's go Mets. I like
when the owner is talking the language the fans are
talking like there's no barrier head in the sands.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
It's a business.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
I'm just the owner. The fact that I know my
owner's equally as frustrated. I like that, and that's why
you probably love Steinbrenner growing up, because they demanded greatness.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
I mean most people outside looking in don't like an
outspoken owner in that way. I mean, you hear a
lot of criticisms about that. But when they're making the
right moves and they're putting their money where their mouth is,
I think that's what you want as a fan. And
he's the guy that's done that, and he's not dissing
any players in particular. Yeah, shows he cares and he's aware,
and I think you like that. Danny g In the

(40:52):
NBA and NFL, NBA, don't you want your owners to
sort of seem like they're as interested as you are.

Speaker 8 (40:58):
You do, But at the same time, they're not the
ones that get out there on the field and play.
So I'd rather hear from the players.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Yeah, the Mets had an all players meeting and then
they got smoked the next day, So then you can
argue like, those things don't mean anything either. All players meeting,
we're gonna speak up, nothing happens. It shows he's aware,
shows that he cares. I'll give you that, all right,
We'll enjoy your Monday night. We'll see you guys tomorrow.
Have a good one Riba there you maybe you and
the Promised Land later b.
