Speaker 1 (01:49):
All right, guys, I'm back, and you know what I
was thinking about the other day as I get ready
to do videos, as I'm living my life, I'm surrounded
by people that I care about, but at times them
and their people will display behavior is unbecoming of the
(02:10):
people associated with me. I am talking about Luise.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
You know.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
All Copa America. Luis is from has a heritage from
the country Uruguay, so I've been having to deal with
him boasting and bragging about the success the team has
had over the course of Copa America. But then I
watch Uruguay fighting the stands and I thought to myself, Luise,
you gotta be careful. I don't want to be associated
(02:37):
with that behavior. I left that back in twenty fourteen
with John Jones.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
I get it, and I get it high.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Emotions, but come on, I mean, Louise, control your people, man,
control your people.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Guys. Some people can't control themselves.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Now, one person that is having trouble controlling himself is
one of my guys.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
One of my.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Guys that said to us he was about to retire
or he was thinking about retiring, and that's Dustin Pourier.
But Dustin Poitier, since saying that he was saying about
walking away from the sport, has had a ton to
say and he's got a lot of people just cross
fires or cross airs. So Dustin Pouritier fought last month,
(03:30):
lost his lightweight championship fight, said this might be it
for me. I saw him an International Fight week. I
asked him if he was ready to walk away. You
could see inside of him that there's a lot there.
The fire still burns inside the diamond.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
He goes. I don't know, man.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
He came on the good guy, bad guy, will be
a chaill Fans ask questions, They asked him about a fight.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
He goes only big things would get him to do it. Well.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
For a guy that seems to be minda well, I
might be done with this. He's got a lot to say.
This week he shot fired shots at Michael Chandler. This week,
he fired shots at Connor McGregor. This week Dustin Poitier Again.
For a guy that says he might be ready to
walk away, is chadding. So he told Ariel Hawane this,
(04:22):
who is we?
Speaker 3 (04:23):
You just got here, buddy, You're not one of us.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
You're not we. I've been here, you know.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Come on, dude, we are good.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Who's we? You know? Welcome to the UFC.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Dude, you got one win in the UFC. Dude, Russell
mcmike needs to chill.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
You could hear in Dustin Pourier.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
You can tell that Dustin Pourier takes offense to Michael Chandler,
almost putting himself on the same level as him and
all the guys that have been around the UFC for
as long as he has. He doesn't like that it's
almost territorial in a sense that he's going, We've done
(05:00):
this together for a long time. You can't come in
here with four UFC fights and say we I believe
Mike is saying we because Mike, for the limited amount
of time that he's been here, he really has made
an impact.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I'm hard on Michael Chandler. Guys.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
I mess with Mike a lot about waiting for the
McGregor fighting all this, but this dude has done a
lot in a short period of time. He's only had
four UFC fights. Guys, he's only beating Michael. He's only
beaten Tony Ferguson and Dan Ooker. He's already our fault
for the UFC Championship, and he's fought on one of
the biggest fight cards that they've had. He's already been
(05:41):
in there with Justin Gatchee, Dustin Pourier, and he's scheduled
to fight Connor McGregor. So while he may not have
had this time spent here, he really has made an impact.
You gotta respect that about Chandler, regardless of what you think.
He's an overly positive guy, right, He's very It almost
(06:01):
seems perfect when it comes to Chandler. But at the
end of the day, Michael Chandler and the work that
he's put on paper in a short period of time
has to be respected before a guy like Dustin Poitier,
who goes from twenty eleven to two thousand and six
seventeen eighteen. I was scratching and clawing, trying to really
(06:25):
make my way. I remember, guys, I was supposed to
fight in New Orleans against Ryan Bader, and the tickets
were going on sale and it went crazy, right. I
ultimately ended up moving off to fight to fight for
the championship. Dustin Poitier was the name guy from Louisiana,
and it just got it did not seem to resonate
as much because he was so young. This is in
(06:48):
twenty fifteen. He had already been in the USC for
almost five years. So I get his frustration. He had
to crash, he had to scratch, he had to claw,
he had to fight his way out of obscurity because
it didn't come in as a highly touted prospect all
the way to the superstar that he is today. So
I can get how he would have frustration for a
(07:10):
guy that did it so fast, but at the end
of the day still should be respected. But again, you
want to fight him. It seems like it thought you
said you might be ready to walk away from this thing.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
DP.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
It don't sound like you're a guy that wants to
walk away from this thing, And honestly, if I was
advising you, I would say, don't you got.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Far too much to give. You're still young.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
The one mistake fighters make when they walk away early,
because Dustin would be walking away early, is you leave
so many good years of competition out there that by
the time you turn forty forty one and you can't
compete anymore. You still have that burning desire, but the
(07:55):
skills now have eroded to the point that you can't
get it back. So if you have that itch, you
have to keep scratching. But Dustin told Michael Chandler to
sit out. But then Michael Chandler had a really good
response to goes, calm down, retire, almost like Mike. It
felt like Michael Chandler honestly put himself above Dustin, like, Nope.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
You're the old guy. We're done with you.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I'm moving on the bigger and better now. Mike did
tuk off like Ny Diaz, which you know it's different,
right They had that big win last weekend, So I
guess his name is kind of resonating with people right now,
so maybe call him Nate has a master following, but
so does Dustin.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
The whole thing doesn't make all that much sense. It
just doesn't.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
But Dustin's talking, which for me as a fan, makes
me happy. What's up, guys, our good friends from Game

about it. And hey, what a time for them to

Welcome back game Time. We love you, guys, We've missed you.
He's also talking about Conda McGregor. He said that Connor
McGregor a pinky toe should not warrant you pulling out
(10:22):
of a fight. He then goes on to say, Connor
said some very nasty things during the build up, Connor
things that he can't.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Let go of.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
So if a fourth fight between them is on the table,
that is something he would absolutely, you know, he would
have to think about. We both know that these two
are tied so much together since twenty fourteen that anytime
you talk about Connor McGregor in his greatest rivals, Dustin
(10:58):
poor youer will have.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
To be in that conversation.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
But there are some things that happen over the course
of that fight and that series of fights that I.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Don't know bode well for Connor McGregor.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Dustin Poitier found his swagger in those fights Fight two
and three for sure, and when a guy like Dustin
Pourier finds his swagger and finds his rhythm, finds his confidence.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
They're very difficult to deal with.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
So I don't really love outside of how much of
a big fight it would be the chances that I
would think McGregor has against Pourier right now, especially the
Pourier of today. But Dustin said about Connor, he said
that Connor McGregor is things. Connor McGregor said things where
(11:48):
he crossed a line, things that you can't come back from.
I want to whip his ass when I see the
tweets of him going off. He's trying to bring that
out of me. He wants me to fire back. I'm
just like, no, of course I want to say something
and try to set up a fight with him and I.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
But it is what it is. We have a lot
of back and forth over the years. So if a forth.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Fight so is so, then the MMA jumping on the
ass is a forth fight possible. Dustin responded, I have
no clue. I don't know, but even that right, he
didn't shut it down. He always was a little bit
on the fence about whether or not he was walking away.
(12:31):
But as we get away from the April fight, it
seems more and more likely that the Diamond is going
to come back. But that leads me to this question.
If the Diamond comes back, did he really leave or
did he really retire right or was it just a
(12:55):
time to reset his mind. I think he should fight,
and I think he should fight only the big fights.
I think if the Nadz fight is possible, make it happen.
That was another guy Dustin spoke about. Dustin said that
he's accepted so many fights with Nadz, So no matter
what Nate is saying, he's accepted fight after fight with Nadz.
(13:18):
There are three guys now that Dustin Poitier spoke about
in a week, and Dustin Pourier also said he also
and those three guys sorry, and those three guys are
all massive fights, the types of fights that Poitier said
he would come back for. So if you don't feel
(13:39):
what I feel, and if you don't see this as
I see it, you're looking at this thing with blinders.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Dustin Poitier is fighting again.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
It's just a matter of when and who and how
excited he will be about the prospective opponent.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
That's it. He's fighting again.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Guys fighting again, And all I had to see was
him on the Aerials show one time. There are just
too many bullets in the chamber right for him to
walk away and go, I'm gonna go live very well,
a comfortable life in Lafayette, louis In.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And the dude's a fighter. That's the point.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Is a dog and that's the truth. He's just a dog.
He gonna fight anybody. He gonna fight him on the
street too. I think if the McGregor opportunity presents itself,
that's gotta happen, because the one thing you don't do
to a man is disrespect family. DP felt disrespected in
(14:37):
terms of his family when he comes to McGregor.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
So you gonna want to get that one back DZ.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
You know, honestly, I think I'd like to see DZ
back in the UFC. After his boxing fight. He still
got something, He still has something left. And the thing
I thought there was no way he won that fight,
and he did. And I might have said this last
video I never thought he would win this fight, but
he did. So he's still proving things. Michael vinim Page
(15:06):
tried to get some intel.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
On Ian Gary.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Why is that a story? If I'm being honest, why
is that a story.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Is it illegal? He tried to cheat? There's honor in
this shit? Now you think there's honor?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
You think that if I'm actually with someone when I
was fighting Jones a Stipe and it's one of their
teammates and they start to get a little loose and comfortable,
I won't say, hey man, what does this dude look like?
It's not illegal, it's not illegal. Michael vinim Page might
have won a step further about offering money, but shit,
how do you get a broke mug to give up information?
(15:42):
You offer him something they don't have, and that's money.
I think the story in this, though, is what Shoot
the Box is, and that is where Ian Gary should
be happy that his loyalties lie within that team, because
while a team made of his was offered money, and
(16:03):
I can't imagine the.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Guy has ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Because Ian Gary's not going up to Charles Olvera, I'm sorry,
Page is not going up to Charles Olvera offer ten
grand for information. He's going up to some random Brazilian
kid that lives there that doesn't have anything in offering
him ten thousand dollars for information. If that broke kid
(16:27):
or if that kid who has very little, that kid
who may be poor, says, no, my relationship and my
teammate means more. That is where you lie your head on.
And honestly, if I mean Gary, I'm giving this kid
a little money.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Whoever that guy was that told him.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
Hey, michael vinump Page offered me this, I'm giving him
some money. Maybe not ten grand, but I'm giving him
at least five because his loyalty should be applauded in
and it should benefit him some. Because if you don't
take care of the guy that ultimately took care of you,
(17:07):
maybe the next time somebody comes poking around, he won't
be as.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Much of a locked door in regards to your information.
So it is what it is, all right, guys, thank
you guys for joining me on this show on a Friday.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
