Speaker 3 (00:23):
You know who shook it up, the Lakers, making one
of the biggest trades in their franchise's history, and last
night it was huge, a big time debut for Luca,
not necessarily on the court, but everything from the intro
to Lebron embracing him. I want to start by saying,

(00:44):
anyone that doubts Lebron James leadership is a damn fool.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
He's playing everything right and you gotta appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Danny g you gotta appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
I love the little pregame speech of don't fit in,
fit the f out, as he said.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
This is what he said in the little huddle, be yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
And you know what, when you saw Team USA at
the Olympics, what did every veteran superstar all say they
were beside themselves when it came to Lebron's work, ethic,
his training, what a leader he is, Yet us as
idiotic fans.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Still doubt this guy. It's fascinating to me.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
And he's gonna lead by example like great role model
for Luca. It's Luca's biggest criticism, his conditioning, the way
he treats his body, and the reason Lebron is who
he is is because he treats his body like a
well oiled machine, like a temple.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Right, like a temple.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yes, millions of dollars invested on staying in shape and
being that guy, and that's given him the longevity in
the health. So if Luca just learns by his leadership,
that's amazing and that's what you want. I think Lebron
has done everything right so far. It's good to see.
You know, he's welcoming the new guy and the don't
fit in fit the f out. It makes no sense grammatically,

(02:12):
but makes perfect sense when you think about it.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
It's like, be you.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Don't try to fit in with us, Just be you
because you're great the way you are. Just ball out
and be Luca and we're gonna love it, like we'll
fit in around you.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
You're the guy.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
So it's also Lebron saying, like you're the dude, just
just do what you do, and that's that's an honor
in itself, you know. And like I said, it doesn't
make sense, like the ceiling is the roof, Like the
ceiling is the roof. Doesn't make sense, but you know
what it means, right, So I like that f Out.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
He loves him just the way you are.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, he doesn't need to fit in. He just needs
to be Luca and ball out. Shouldn't you preface that
with a please get fit first?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Right, and no in and out, buddy, But you know what,
I don't fit in, get fit. I thought it was
also very cool again a leadership by Lebron to say yeah, yeah,
I get it. Usually I'm the one that's last to
be introduced. Place goes nuts Lebron James.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
He said, no, no, that's nothing more like the SNL guy,
Lebron Jame, musical guest the man anymore. I feel like
you gave it an SNL and poushing machine gun.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Keilly. It's almost like Captain crunching. Yeah, you gave it that.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
You gave it a little bit of that, you know.
It did dawn on me. Well, what a solid move
that was right for Lebron to I mean also an
obvious one. I don't give too much credit. That's the
least Lebrons that have done on this guy's debut. He's
a star in his own right. To give him the
last intro and.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
The other guard? Where is number seventy seven sixty seven
seventh campaign Brock slow Vidia Luca toop chair. Also to
your honest I might need to be the new Laker
PA guy. Give me a little oof. Do the SNL bit.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
You guy's been the Laker PA man for like forty years.
It's something to change, Danny. Bring me in there.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I'll do my best SNL number seventy seven, Luca DoD.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
You're too hyped out, man, Yeah, you're too hYP You'd
annoy everybody out out the arena. I'm annoying myself the thing.
But I didn't think about this last night. It dawned
on me, Danny g Did you have this thought too?
Like they really rolled out the carpet for Luca. Everybody
in attendance got a seventy seven jersey. He was all
draped on the chair like Oprah was in charge. Man,

(04:33):
you get a jersey, you get a jersey. Everybody got
a jersey, and I wonder how that makes Lebron feel like, Wow, man,
did everyone get a jersey when I showed up? I
don't remember that. I think Lebron needs more accoepes.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I think it does, know, But do they have to
like sort of run it by him a little bit, like, Hey, Lebron,
we mean no offense, Like, is it that kind of relationship?
I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I think we're beyond that. Because you didn't even know
about the trade. We're to point out where Lebron is
a leedged, but the Lakers are thinking beyond Lebron James
and the fact that they have his leadership to bring
Luca in the mix. And from what I watched, I
didn't watch a whole game, but from what I watched,
it seemed like the Lakers have Lebron or Luca or

(05:16):
both on the court at any given time.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
That is something that that opens enough for Austin Reeves
even more so.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Honestly, if your concern is Lebron and then Luca and
then at times Lebron and Luca, Reeves is just the guy.
And did he have the most points? Now, Lebron had
twenty four points. Last night, Reeves had twenty two points.
I did watch the game because I felt like, you
got to watch history, right well, I gotta see him
make his first shot, makes his first three. Props to him.
It was a big moment. Danny G what were your

(05:43):
thoughts watching everything? Because you're the lifelong Lakers guy, how
did you feel watching this?

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Remember last week when we read the quotes from Lebron
when he said it, it felt it didn't feel real
that it had happened, that the trade took place. Last night,
watching them together, it almost felt like a little mini
All Star team, and it was almost surreal in a way.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
As a Lakers fan, I was like, is this really
happening right now?

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Like, yeah, I'm gonna miss Ad because he was one
of my favorite players. But to watch those two out
there on the court at the same time, and then
a lot of people forget how they acquired Finny Smith
and how how well Ruey has been playing, and some
of the guys off the Lakers bench right now that
are fan favorites. They got a really nice squad. And remember,
just like we're just removed a couple of years removed

(06:28):
from the Lakers. Really struggling as far as depth goes.
So now to have what we have in front of
us at the moment is pretty amazing.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Hachimura had twenty one points and it looked like they
were having fun last night too, right he did, Yeah,
and it was wild to see. Like Danny G said, superstars,
the Utah Jazz, they were getting collabored because they don't
get a break. You know, you had Lebron, like I said,
Lebron and Luca out there together. Then Lebron comes out,
Luca goes in, Luca goes out, Lebron comes in. It

(06:57):
was no breaks for the Utah Jazz. They had no
sh Yeah. I mean, granted they're twelve and forty, but
the Lakers look dominant last night, and that's just their
first game together.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
They're gonna be better and better, you know. Interestingly enough,
Lebron has been part of so many winning teams. But
you know the twenty twenty Bubble Championshi lebronay with him
and ad Don Pardo. He passed away, didn't they.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
He passed away in twenty fourteen at the age of
ninety six.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, remember that legend. His voice was he was amazing.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
But Ad and Lebron won the bubble chip that some
people criticize. I think it's equally or more impressive in
some aspects. Point is, since then, Danny, we've known you
for three four years now, there's been a couple of
seasons where the Lakers gonna sneak into the playing game,
or the Lakers like they're floating around five hundred.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
This is no longer a floating around five hundred.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Maybe they'll make noise in the playoffs team, this is
a all right, their top tier team. He would almost
be disappointing if they didn't make a deep run or
goal all the way.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yeah, and you just have to be worried a little
bit about when they go up against maybe the Nuggets
or a team that has more size. Oh the Nuggets
one thing, well, eat them, don't worry about it. But
maybe they can outscore those teams. And I did like
reading a story yesterday about Jackson Hayes. He's really the
only true center that could be a starter on the
team right now when that Williams trade fell through. But

(08:25):
I read that Luca and Hayes was the first one
who took him out to dinner when Luca got to
town because the two of them were kind of buddies
in the past. Luca used to tell him when Hayes
was on the New Orleans Pelicans, Hey, dude, we got
to play together sometime, you and me. So the two
of them had joked around prior saying that they wanted
to play together. And so you see Jackson Hayes hopefully

(08:47):
stepping up to fill that big man role that the
team's really gonna need.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Danny g Rich Sam, I had to mansplain, with all
due respect, I had to mansplain to my girlfriend last night,
the significance of the trade. She's like, you're watching the Lakers.
I'm like, oh, football's over. I gotta shift my focus,
you know me Lakers.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Guy, but it's bachelor night. I'm like, you know what. Honestly,
Bacheler took a back seat Luca's debut. So I was
trying to explain her the importance and obviously she knew
everybody knows that the trade happened. Did you manx plain
Man's plaining to her? I did.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
I said, let me man's plain. She's like, what's that.
I said, well, let me Man's plain. And I was like,
they traded a d great defensive star for Luca one
of the biggest stars of now today.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
He's twenty five years old, whole future ahead of them.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
So the Mavericks got a d but he's hurt now,
right and he could be out for a month.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
She's like, oh my god. And I'm like, well, Luca's
a superstar, international star. How did they let him go?

Speaker 1 (09:47):
And I'm trying to explain it to her and I
could see it's not sinking in, so I put it
in terms that she might understand.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
I was like, it's like the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Getting a Louis vatonbag for a coach back. And she
was like, oh wait, but Dallas might have too many
Louis Vuittants and really you really.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Want to coach me?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Right, I was like, it's like trading your Barbie doll
and getting the Skipper. Remember Skipper, like the little ugly sister.
Oh yeah, Oh my god. I'm like yeah, and not
the AD's like, you know, ugly and bad. He's great,
but he's older and he's hurt. But also the Barbie,
uh not going to the gym as much.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Right, right? Yeah? Exactly?

Speaker 1 (10:27):
So you know, I was trying to find all these
ways to explain I think it eventually sunk in, you know,
the significance and the importance of something that we hadn't
seen before, which is why we had to tune in
and take some notes. And dude, Luca ended up with
fourteen points and they.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Still clawed him.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Yeah, he only played twenty three minutes because they have
him limited a little bit coming off his injury.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
By the way, I almost feel like that would be
a new segment because I enjoyed that having man Cavino.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Man's plains.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Yeah, I mean, she's like, she gets her sports, but
she didn't understand like why it was such a big
deal that I had to be watching Eating Pop going
to see this moment, you know, and everyone got a jersey.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
I'm like, Luca's a big deal and they got rid
of a big deal.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Who's well, he's not as good, but he's good in
a different way.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Defensive, he's a big star, but he's.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
Not like, Yeah, as Mark Cuban tried to explain when
he was on stage recently, did you guys see that clip?
He said, it's like trading Windows eleven for Windows ten.
He's like, ten's a Hall of Famer, but eleven's right now.
If it was up to him, and he tried to
put in a last minute phone call saying please don't
trade Luca, and it had already taken place. They verbally

(11:35):
agreed over the phone already.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
And we had questioned what influenced Mark Cuban still had
because he's still involved, right, but he's by no means decision.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah, arm length away. Yeah, I get you know what,
Mark Cuban would not have let that happen.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Mar Cubmember did a Mark Cuban Well, he was quoted
as saying he's more likely to get divorced, yeah, than
part ways with Luca.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
So that's how you knew.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Mark Cuban's pull is just you know, he's outside looking in.
Now he's part of it, but not so your thoughts.
Did Lebron do everything right again?

Speaker 1 (12:10):
He told him don't fit in, fit the fl and
get fit while you're at it. That part I added,
But I think it proves the point. You know, we
often question when you're the new guy at the office,
Is it the new guy's job to introduce himself to
everybody else and make them feel welcome. No, it's everyone

(12:31):
else's job to make the new guy feel welcome. Right
that the new guy needs to be open to it,
and he needs to put his best foot forward. But
it's like when we started here at Fox Sports. Yeah,
we got some dirty looks, I know that, but we
put our best foot forward and most people were very
welcoming and that.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, and you brought free talking and we brought tacos. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Well that's what the new guy has to do, then,
guy do but veterans in the building, which is Lebron
and everybody else on the team, they have to be
welcoming at the same time. And I think they did
a great job of that, not only as a team
as a city last night for Luca welcoming the new guy.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
When you talk about whose job is it, think about
the most recent new guy here at Fox Sports Radio,
the Odd Couple, Kelvin. Yeah, he enters the mix, really
great guy.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
He brings in donuts. Hey, I'm the new guy.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
He just he brought a good, positive vibe. But I
think it was all of our job also to be like, y'all, dude,
welcome to the team, to the team.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Man, And that's that's in every office.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
You when I told him not to fit in, to
fit the f out, remember that you said that yeah,
I mean that.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Hang me that up. You didn't say that. I did.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Lebron got it from me. But you know, that's another
great thing about Luther King.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I did. I did mean Martin Luther King.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
No, but everybody around here because we're a great team,
as great teams do, made him feel welcome. Now we
still got last one standing. We got to talk Jason
Kelsey Man Aaron Rodgers in the news and what why is.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Cavino like Aaron Rodgers. You gotta get to this next
because there's a ton of Aaron Rodgers news and I
feel like you and him. Meanwhile, you don cat you
don't do ayahuasca. Now, you guys are weirdos in a
few ways, and I'll win. We're coming from the weirdest
guy I know.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Also, we're gonna come back with a Super Bowl rhyme reel,
a recap for my buddy Nick Javis. So stick around
more Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (14:23):
Back in business is Jack the Gifted had to dust
the mic off to rastatistics. Some of the rappers did this,
but not like Nicholas.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Sit it down Origin.

Speaker 7 (14:32):
Now let's get it down from the n O Eagles
and Chiefs so should have been a battle, wasn't even
a beef and it was over tight quick dots into
the one and as push put the birds up A
like big, then a nice big on the day.

Speaker 2 (14:45):

Speaker 7 (14:46):

Speaker 2 (15:07):
It wasn't even close. Philly Deep was decent.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
Picks back to back, a six pack of sacks attacking

Speaker 2 (15:21):

Speaker 7 (15:23):
Killers, burders about it, about it, word of Pete Miller,

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Thanks for the rhyme real, Nick, It's Covino and Rich
on Fox Sports Radio. And by the way, check his
social media if you want to see the video for that,
Nick Javis Javas and I'll be posting it later at
Steve Covino at Covino and Rich and everything at Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Now.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
This week, speaking of the Eagles, the parade in Philadelphia
on Valentine's Day, Happy by the Times, Papa I mentioned
that decision. Imagine some guy or girl has a pain
in the ass spouse.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Or significant other. It's like it's valiance.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Imagine some guy has a pain in the ass girlfriend,
her spouse. Yeah, I can imagine. Okay, Yeah, do.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
You know about Philly women? Though?

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Women are yeah, bigger fans than their boyfriends or their
no doubt.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Honestly, like all stereotype all day, East Coast women seem
to be way passionate. Yeah, compared to women I've met
out here on the West Coast, like Philly for example.
You're right, wives and girlfriends just as passionate. So that
parade on Friday could be pretty wild.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
Please behave yourself, Philly fans. I saw what they would
happened on Broad Street after they won and they were like,
I've always defended Philly, but they were ridiculous, Like they
were like breaking windows.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
There's gonna be no more street lights.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
People don't really hearing down street light. It's like, come on,
what are we doing.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
I was talking about confetti guy at the at the
super Bowl that throws all the Confettian people don't know
cheese steak Sammy, Yeah, you know what, you know what
I was. Sam's job was once he was the guy
that lubed up the telephone pole so they couldn't call
me in Philly.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Really yeah, they called him loop boy, loop boy boy. Yeah,
you know it was at his resume.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I know, we have such slippery fingers when you're hitting
the buttons exactly.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
So Iowa.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Sam's on the ones and TUESDA Danny g is super
producing at eight seven seven ninety nine Fox. Dan Byer's
got your updates in just a few minutes. All of
our videos at Covino and Rich. I'm Steve Cavino. That
is Rich Davis and speaking of foosball. Gotta talk Aaron
Rodgers next. Before we do, I got to ask Dan Bayer,
who had some great footage video and pictures down on

(17:31):
the field representing Fox Sports Radio. Always cool to see
dB taking part in that dan. At any point, did
you see uh, did.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
You see Taylor Swift? She didn't go down obviously they lost.
Did we We didn't see it at all. No, not
at one point.

Speaker 8 (17:46):
I couldn't tell you what sweet she sat in. I
don't know if she was because our media seats were
in the upper level, but did not.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
See her at all.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Surprisingly, we didn't see her much on TV. Yes, it
was nothing to cheer for it. And also President Trump.
I remember the.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Story at the end of last week was sweet tickets
were going up in price, but people wanted to be
in the suite next to either Trump or Taylor, and
I'm curious if they were actually even close. They didn't
show either one, which was shocking. I thought the over
run there would be like ten times on each of them.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
Yeah, they did in the stadium, which I think was
a story that you guys heard. When they showed President Trump.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
There was a.

Speaker 8 (18:22):
Cheer and they got the booth. Yeah, Eagles fans being loud,
but that was they do it once. And what they
do is where you see like at the Garden, you know,
the Knicks just do celeb after celeb or like to
do with the Lakers here, they would do a celeb
and then they would do the common fan, so it
would be mixed up. You wouldn't just get like eight
celebrities in a row. You would get like one or two,

(18:43):
and then you would get, you know, just common fans waving.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah. What's a funny.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
The fact that Donald Trump, By the way, I'm not
a Trump hater by any means, but I thought it
was a little little odd that he put on social
media like no one how to wears Davan Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
The fact that he even I mean, he says a
lot of dumb thing. What's that out? Like him or not?
It's very funny.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
The fact that he even addressed like no one had
to wear Danvian Taylor Swift.

Speaker 8 (19:06):
Really, I don't know that you but I'm using a
plastic straw today, So.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
You know what, I could get behind that, and I
could get behind get rid of the penny who he
needs a pet?

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Ben Maller, Oh yeah, what is Ben Mella gonna do?
I know, right, Benny Rich.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
They did show Trump once pregame when we were saluting
the country.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Yeah, and you could you heard the crowd they reacted.
I don't know if it was the eruption, it's a positive,
but the crowd lit up.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
You definitely heard it. So speaking of football, our very
own Diana Russini, who we saw a very own your
girlfriend or something, our very own friend. Yeah, that's really
what I was saying at you mean.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Our old pal.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
By our old pal, she uh is always on her grind.
We did work with her at ESPN and she was
super cool always, so it was nice to see her.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
So our very own pal.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
We saw her couple of times, in fact, one of
the good pals we took away from our time at
ESPN back in the day. And she was so responsible
for breaking this story and I was Sam, if you
want to just roll it. She talked about Aaron Rodgers
and where things may have gone wrong with the Jets.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
Take a listen when they had conversations with Aaron Rodgers
about what the future would look like. If you're going
to be part of this team, you're going to attend
all the trading camp. You're not going to g Pat
McAfee interviews anymore.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Wait, they said that, yeah.

Speaker 9 (20:32):
If you were to stay here, here's how we would
want it to be So this to me is Aaron
Glad getting control back.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
So do you think that if he would have agreed
to not do that stuff, that he would have been
their quarterback?

Speaker 9 (20:44):
I think that no matter what the Jets were going
to say, Aaron Rodgers wanted to move on.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
So the Jets made it clear, if you want to return,
no more mispractices, no more McAfee appearances, no more you know,
Aaron Rodgers antic, you know none of that. And what
I think is going on here is them sort of
forcing him out. I call it offers you can't accept.

(21:10):
It's like when a job lowballs you and you can't
accept it because it's insulting. So it's not like you're
we offered you a job exactly, and Rich and I
have been there. It's like like in her previous employer,
we weren't technically fired, and I would always defend that
we weren't fired, we weren't let go. We got an
offer we couldn't accept, And it's just the company's way

(21:34):
of making you, forcing you to make that decision, you
know what It's like.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
It's like a girl make you ever been in a
relationship where you're too much of a coward to break
up with someone, and you're like, I'm just gonna.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Make I'm gonna make it so annoying.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
I'll be such a terrible guy that she dumps me.
I've been on the receiver again where I'm like, I
think she just wants me to dump her.

Speaker 6 (21:53):
Zach Morris did that once in an episode, say with
a belt.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Well, Zach Morris is trash. That's why Mike rich Davis,
Zach Morris is trash. Yeah, but it's true though.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
We were at a former employer and they gave us
the weakest off ever.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Hey, guys, you know we're going through COVID times. What
do you say?

Speaker 3 (22:10):
You take a pay cut with a non compete And
it's like, well that just makes.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Zero significant pay cut, cutting down like the hours. You know,
not everybody would be involved the same way, and you're like, well,
why would I do that? So they're forcing you to
make a decision. And in a lot of ways, that's
what I'm getting from this. They're gonna tell Aaron Rodgers,
who again, he's been doing sort of what he's wanted

(22:36):
to do is whole career, and now all of a
sudden he has these restrictions and he can't do what
he wants, and like, I don't see that vibing with
him at all at this stage of his career. So
he's forced to then say, nah, I'll take my talents elsewhere.
So the question is the Jets play I'm gonna make
you dump me move, which was we've all been in.

(23:00):
I'd have to think back to high school to college,
but I think we've all been in a scenario where
it's like, you know.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
This person, this person's forcing my hand. They're not doing it.
But and now the question is, well they are. What's
he going to do next? And it's a speculation of well,
is he done now? But his former teammate Aaron Jones
said today that he's definitely not done. He thinks he
still has a lot in the tank and he still
has a lot to prove. So then there's that conversation.

(23:27):
But I'm still dying to hear how he's like me.
So maybe he could tell, yeah, how Aaron Rodgers is
like Steve Cavino.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
I'm dying to find out because I feel like I
don't have anything in common with that guy. Aaron Rodgers
and you are cut from the same cloth in that
when someone tells you to do something and pushes enough,
it just makes you want to do it even less.
There was another athlete or someone we got it. We

(23:57):
just talked to who was a Jim Lampley. Yes, and
I asked him about hey, Jim think yeah, Jim, do
you think we'll ever get that Canelo Benavidez fight? And
he explained that Canelo is a stubborn Mexican kid, and
the more you push him, and the more you push
Benavitez at him, the less he wants to do it.

(24:20):
He doesn't need to do it, He doesn't need to
prove to anybody. So the more it's brought up, the
less he less likely he is to give you that fight.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
If you talk.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Cavino, Bro, we're all out with coworkers at a karaoke bar.
You Cavino hop up there, do a song? Yeah, right,
picture of that. But he might if it's my decision.
If you asked.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Him more than once, the more you bother him, the
likelihood goes down.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
I don't know what that is. It's not like a.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Quality that I'm proud of or anything. It's honestly how
my instincts work. It's like, all right now You've built
this up to be even more than it should be,
and you're making something out of it, and I don't
like it. Like, if it was my decision to go
out there and us to move, or go out there
and tell a joke, or go out there and sing
a song, I'll do that spontaneously. But now that you
like put this pressure on me, now, I don't want to.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
If you said, hey, we're at an event, yo, pass
the mic to Cavino, say a few words, if you
told him more than ones like come on bro, every
time you say come on brow oh not never, Well
he did it.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
This is the reason Covino still hasn't watched Shrinking on
Apple TV. You're all right, because Rich has hammered it
so much. I'm like, now he's allergic to your pressure
deep down.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Yeah, you're so right about this. It's weird.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
It's not like it's not a like a deliberate thing, right,
that's just sort of my default setting and how it works.
It's get what you're saying with Aaron Rodgers. I do
understand what you're saying here.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
If Danny g you said shrinking on Apple TV, I
did spots started it, raved about it. We have a
group of a group chat that we're on a bunch
of dudes. Cavino respects are all like bro for real,
great show. The fact that more than once I was like,
come on, bro, watch it.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Now looks like I gave in, like get at it. So,
in other words, it's to make it clear Aaron Rodgers.
If if someone's telling Aaron Rodgers, bona fide superstar in
the league, what to do, what he can and can't do,
it's probably gonna make him say, well, then I'm then
I'm out of here.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
If our boss don Or Scott was like, guys, we're
going to reopen your contract, fat new deal.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Crush your fingers, so that I like that idea, right,
sounds good to me.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
But if but if Scott and don delivered the contract
and they said, my man one one caveat one, Rub Cavino,
uh you can't wear Yankee hats on the air, no
big deal. But the fact that they said it, hold
on now because.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
I want to win my yankee Like if Don said,
here's doubling your salary, but uh yo, no Yankee gear,
that would be a problem for a guy like Covine.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
All right, Well, your thoughts on Aaron Rodgers plus last
one is standing. We got more Cano enriched Aaron.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
The way we see it is the Jets were sort
of forcing his hand out of that relationship.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
Yeah, make her dump you so you don't look like
the bad guy. Yeah, an offer he couldn't accept. He's
Aaron Rodgers. He's not gonna take that weak ass deal.
And you can't go on Pat McAfee. Yeah, okay, beat
it and no more. Ayahuascar retreats rights. Hey, but we
still want you more Netflix documentaries.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Oh man, Wow.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
So you asked, well, where does he end up? I
honestly think he shouldn't play. But I saw a photoshop
and I was convinced. And we're requiring multiple booster shots.
Yeah okay, yeah, Aaron Rodgers, they're just making it again.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
It's it's the old make them dump you.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I saw a photoshop today of potential landing spots and
it was the only thought that kind of made sense.
I saw him in purple, and I was like, yeah,
as a Viking, Yeah, okay, because who knows what they're doing?
Aaron Rodgers as a Viking, he is, he can follow
Farvs every step. Yes, but I think he should end
up in a cave by himself doing whatever he wants

(28:06):
to do.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Like, I don't think he should be playing.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I don't think he should be taking these kind of
orders at the stage of his career. I don't think
he should be putting his health in jeopardy at an
older age. I don't think he could lead a younger team.
He's not that type of guy. Could I if I
was a franchise, I wouldn't want to invest in this
dude to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
That's what the Jets did. It failed.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Could I just go cross fire? By the way, I
like Aaron Rodgers, not hating on him at all. I
just think Father Time continues to be undefeated. That's it simple.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
He had a bad injury, he got a bad break,
and I think that's his career. Man, it was a
good one.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Let's go rapid fire across fire, just to prove the point,
because you know the Jets are like, yeah, it's time
to go.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Where does he go rapid fire? Just quickly? Yes? Or no?

Speaker 10 (28:57):
Right?

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Bills, Dolphins, no Patriots, no, no Ravens, no Bengals, no Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
No Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Was Cleveland got de Shaun Watson money that then that's
now Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Write that down.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
But I saw an article also today saying that Russell
Wilson has the inside track and the right people in
Pittsburgh are backing him. So I guess Sierra don't call
the moving truck yet exactly, so Pittsburgh, maybe Russell Wilson
stays there. So we went through two divisions and there's
not even a bite. Right, Let's go to the west.
Kansas City nope, Chargers nope, Broncos nope. Raiders are gonna

(29:41):
go youth or stick with what they have or maybe
go after.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Him. No, that's what I mean.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
And the Raiders weren't interested in them when there's boy
DeVante was on their squad.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Exactly. All right, now we'll go to the South.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
I'm gonna write down Tennessee just because right now, like
Will Levis, but Will he wanted go to Tennessee. So Tennessee,
maybe Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence are still invested. Indianapolis, Yeah no,
No to the Colts, No way, yeah, no way to
the Colts, and no way to Houston. Jay and Minnesota
he couldn't hold, but he called up. He said it's
the Colts, he thinks, And I've seen a couple of
articles in the past day saying the Colts might be

(30:18):
top of that board because they're not giving up on
Anthony Richardson, but they love having veteran leadership, just like
Flack didn't write.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Down the Colts.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
So right now and we're canceling out Pittsburgh right because
we realize that they are likely going to stick with
Russell Wilson, h.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
And Roger's boy Pat McAfee would be really excited about
the Colts.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
I'm sure they could do interviews. Then maybe could Giants
scoop them up so Tommy DeVito could learn from from
behind him.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
You think cutlets to switch stadiums either, Yeah, all right.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Philly obviously. No Washington, no Dallas, no Giants. I mean
they're gonna they get a draft young I'm gonna just
write him down. Detroit, No Minnesota, that sort of makes sense.
Green Bay, No Chicago, no Tampaa, Atlanta, no Carolina, no
New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
There's so many better options. I mean, Kirk Cousins is
available to you want Aaron Rodgers, right, No, he was
a great man.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
But he was not that guy in the past two seasons,
I should say the past season.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
No San Francisco. Obviously not to that guy. Trust me,
you're not that guy. I need more to be respectful.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Five teams, buddy boy, And we just did that very quickly.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
And I love how quick that was. That took a
minute to figure out that there are felt like a
long minute to me. Thanks man, just kidding. We realized
it felt like an Uber minute.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
You know, an uber says he'll be there in two minutes,
and then it's doing little circles around.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
I checked the wave file two minutes and ten seconds. Yeah,
I mean you go to the Bathroomait, hold on the car?
Why is the car going in the other direction? Why
is the car spinning? This is the longest four minute
uber of my looking for a better ride to pick up?

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Yeah, now it's six minutes. Where did they go?

Speaker 1 (31:51):
That was one minute in Uber minutes. Driver's canceled on
you now, but it was the longest minute ever. Sorry
what I said a minute, I meant an uber minute,
my bed. Five teams, let's break it down and tell
me about I'm canceling out the Colts Anthony Richardson when
healthy starts. I don't care you you invested in this guy.

(32:12):
It's not like year one this will be year three
for him. So forget the Cults. Cross that cross it off, then.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
I don't think you should cross the Colts off. All right.

Speaker 6 (32:21):
Now, I'm gonna let me erase that they almost managed
the playoffs with Gardner Minshew. They came down to basically
like a dropped pass and they would have gotten buffoons.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Well think about it. Think about Richardson. He's still just
twenty two, so he could.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Could learn a lot. Yeah, And for the record, I'm
not rooting.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
I just want to make this clear, because there's new people,
millions of people listening and tuning in every day to
Caveno and rich I am, by no means an Aaron
Rodgers hater. In fact, I root for the old guy.
I love those stories. I love to see old guys
still be the man. Good for him.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
All right, So Colts were keeping in the mix because
maybe as a mentor to Richardson one to two year deal,
You're right, they were close last year if I remember correctly,
the Colts were, aren't they like right around five hundred
nine and eight or eight and nine or something. So
they were in the mix. They went into the week,
they went into week seventeen and eighteen on the Border.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Eight and nine.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
All right, ed Aaron Rodgers not a terrible one, So
Colts Option one Tennessee was three and fourteen. Do you
think Aaron Rodgers, even though Dashville is a beautiful place,
do you think they really do you think he wants
spot for him?

Speaker 4 (33:30):
No?

Speaker 3 (33:30):
But I'm saying like there's no quick fix there. There's
a lot of building to do, and you know he's
got the time. And by the way, Jets already a failure.
You don't have time to take chances. He's got bronchitis.
I don't have time for that. Yeah you got you
gotta take your chance to Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
You don't might have got time for so cross out,
cross out Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
I kind of feel like they're gonna go cam Ward
with a number one pick.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
It feels like maybe, so let's go to the NFC.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
The Vikings move on from Sam Darnold, maybe Sam Donald
ends up with the Raiders or somewhere else else squad
and they have JJ McCarthy coming off an injury, not
quite perhaps ready to go now, and he's a very
he's a young man too, So maybe Minnesota who is
fourteen to three with Sam Donald. You could argue if
they're fourteen to three with Sam Donald, Aaron Rodgers familiar

(34:17):
with that division.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Yeah, I could see that have Viking, But if I
was a Vikings fan, I would not want.

Speaker 6 (34:22):
Yeah, there's a big difference between Donald and Rogers. One
one of those guys wants to be coached. The other
guy thinks he's he's been good in the past.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
But Vikings cults, the giants aren't gonna fiddle with that.
That's cross town in New York. Jets didn't work out.
Do you really think cross Town they'd be like, well,
thick our truth of here like I would. That would
just just be boneheaded.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
It's almost like you thank you possibility though, because part
of the storyline was how he really embraced New York
and he loved New York already.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
There, dude, you want do you see your buddy get
an STD from a girl? You're not hooking up with
that girl?

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Yeah, I'm just saying, I mean, that's not a Colin
counterd level analogy is a bold Rich Davis compares Aaron
to an st Dude, you're crotches it you you hooked
up with that girl?

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Yeah, I mean I wouldn't consider it impossibility. City a
quarterback and is convenient and he and he's comfortable there.
He liked the people of New York.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Keep keep them very highly of New York, all right,
keep them on and the Saints. I mean, what are
we thinking about New Orleans? Is Derek Carr? Is it
Danny g You saw him as a raider? I feel
like he's getting the same like mediocre love that he didn't.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
You know, Yeah, I feel like he ends up somewhere
else too, But don't ask me about Derek New Orleans
though I don't. I don't see it.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
So we narrowed it down to what they want Derek
Carr to take a discount and restructure his contract, and
Derek Carr's agent is saying, no, you pay him what
you pay, all right.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
So Coves, Vikings, Covin and Rich have narrated down to
four teams and he can't go. There's twenty eight teams
in the National Football League that I promise you not happening.
Four teams. Pick your poison, Aaron Rodgers Cults only AFC team,
and then if you go to the NFC, Giants, Saints
are Vikings.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
How can you? How can you.

Speaker 10 (36:22):
How can you?

Speaker 3 (36:22):
How could you make an argument I honestly think is
if Derek Carr wants more money and they say no,
if that, We'll give Aaron Rodgers a one to two
year deal and draft or something.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
So, based on everything we learned about Aaron Rodgers and
his stubborn behavior.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Hold on, I've ended up with Titans. Another theory, cross
the Giants off. I'm not I'm not pulling. I'm not
taking the bait. They're three and fourteen last year again,
much like the Tennessee Titans.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Do you think he's going to go try to fix
a team? I don't think there's a convenience. There's a
convenience aspect there about that sweet house in Jersey. Yeah,
it's not the same Titans. We'll keep it to those four.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Your thoughts at Covin on Rich Hey eight, seven, seven,
nine nine on Fox Colts, Vikings, Giants, Saints, do you
agree that those are the only four even reasonably possible
places for every team?

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Right? So, yeah, I think that's a pretty good assessment.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
What if the forty nine ers said, yeah, sorry, f
you brock Purty as an I understand I'd be like, nah,
I mean.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
That's what I'm saying, Like, put yourself in the team's position.
Even as a fan, would you want Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Like there's you want?

Speaker 1 (37:28):
I don't know, you just want like a forward momentum.
I feel like that's a step backward. I would love
for him to prove me wrong. You know, seems so.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Tired to me.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Truthfully, you know which one makes the best say that respectful?
The one that makes by far the most sense. I
think more than any of these. To me, there's one
blaring obvious answer. And Mark my words, Mark Bavaro, my words.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Let me put a mullet on Mark Bavarro, his words, everybody,
Mark Mark Langston my words, another great mullet. Forget the Colts,
forget the Giants, forget the Saints. Vikings make sense. You're
not gonna pay Sam baid that. So we had to
do all that to come back to my original answer
fourteen minutes ago. Did I not say that? I said,

(38:17):
I narrowed it down. I saw a photoshop.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
I'm convinced I'm gonna cut the last ten minutes off
the podcast.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
So we had to take this big ass circle to
end up right where we started.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Thanks Rich put me talking it out just made a
lot more. Okay, I'm glad you figured it out.

Speaker 6 (38:32):
Finally, I'm gonna save you fourteen we sang out of
all those five the Vikings stand alone.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
But guess what sam I said that to start this off. Well,
clearly you want a cookie. You want a girl scale cookie.
You wanted some Samoa's, your little baby I do. I
want to Samoa's and thin mints.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Thanks. By the way, if.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Anyone gets anything other than Samoa's or thin Mints, I
don't know what you're doing.

Speaker 6 (38:52):
But is there another there's a third girl scale cookie?
Hop hop hop alongs hop longs again. I just came
the lemon lemon and zested, you know on the lemon
ones are okay?

Speaker 2 (39:02):
The other one like true foils? Yeah? What a tree
for free foils? Yeah? My girlfriend was like, can you
get the treefoils? I was like, what, no.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Thin mints in the freezer and Samoa's and you just, uh,
you know, stack them all in your pinky. You need
one of the Honestly, the best option for Aaron Rodgers
is for him to just dabble in broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
It's it's one way. It's trying to host Jeopardy once
in a while. It's there was not any those there
for him. He doesn't have to put his body in
any harms, way, any Jeopardy, any other major criticisms that
he's getting. If he has Guess in the tank, that's great,
that's grand. Not everyone ends their career like like l
Way or Brady. You know, it's just ended that way.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Does Dan Buyer have a reasonable response to to you
and I arguing for the last fifteen minutes, Minnesota is
that the clear option isn't the culture?

Speaker 2 (39:53):
I don't think. I don't think Minnesota is an option
at all. But now you took us all the way back?
Why I mean you? I think the Colts.

Speaker 8 (40:02):
The Colts is such an awful pick, Like there's no
way he's going.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
To the Colts.

Speaker 8 (40:07):
Okay, no way, Okay. I do think the Giants could
be a possibility. I actually think Danny's Raiders are a
good possibility as well. I don't think that. I don't
think that Aaron Rodgers would play for a team that
doesn't have a profile or a high profile. So the
Colts to me don't fit. That Saints don't fit that

(40:29):
the Giants and Raiders do. But then again, I don't
think he's going to play next year, So that's where
my gut stands.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
But then why not, because that's why I said the
JJ McCarthy okay, because I was like, at least they're
good and they could use somebody to figure it out
in between.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
But if they move on from Donald and have a
little a little money for a short term deal to have.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
I want him in my building at all.

Speaker 5 (40:50):
Wow. Okay, And that would only be if McCarthy isn't
one hundred percent healthy, because if he's healthy, the Vikings
love McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Yeah, he'd be the starter in week one, Danny g
based on what Dan Bayer.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Said about that, Yeah, I mean, do you think, all right,
let's say I don't like is Tom Brady?

Speaker 2 (41:09):
I don't. I never really knew.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Is there a relationship with Brady and Aaron Rodgers mutual respect?
Because I never really think.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Of him, So yeah, I think there's always a mutual respect.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
Brady have a little influence there, like, hey, listen, we're revamping,
we're rebranding, we're in Vegas, we got young draft picks.
We're not there yet, Aaron Rodgers. Does that make sense
to a Brady?

Speaker 2 (41:26):
I think they're going to try to run the ball.

Speaker 8 (41:28):
That's why you hire Chip Kelly, and so you're not
asking Rogers to do tons. You have your tight end
all world tight end there. I mean, I I don't
know receiver wise on and if Rogers would want to
bring anybody else, and I just don't think there would
be as much pressure. Division is murderous. But I don't

(41:50):
know if that even matters to Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
I was going to say that division.

Speaker 6 (41:55):
He's bringing in Randall Cobb, he's bringing in all.

Speaker 8 (41:58):
Dan whatever, he's getting second chances, like Chim Kelly's back
in the NFL, Pete Carroll's back now with the Raiders.
There's cachet with that organization that just isn't with the Colts.
And I think you got to see the Anthony Richardson
thing out at least at some point. So that's why
I don't think that those options.

Speaker 1 (42:16):
I don't think any organization that takes himself serious is
going to want to invest their future with Aaron Rodgers
at this stage with his.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Career short term, dan By brings up the point that
he may not want to go to one of those
smaller market teams. But think about the Baseball world. How
many times has a smaller market team been like like
the Oaklan a has decided to take on Piazza for
a year just because you're trying.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
To get that big name and maybe they could fill
some seats. I don't know when the Tampa Bay Devil
Rays did that with like Bogs and Griff and Conseko
and Castillo. It was load, yeah and suck.

Speaker 8 (42:53):
But didn't they put in like Boggs contract that when
he goes into the hall he had to wear Ray's hat.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Yeah, and he did, and that's what made the change.

Speaker 5 (43:01):
Yeah, yeah, you guys. Greg just called. He said he's
at work so he couldn't get on the air. But
he says, Rogers owns a mansion in Nashville. Oh likes
that city. Wow, something to consider. It is interesting and all.
Here's another thing. I'm so stuck on Aaron Rodgers wanting
to win. It might have been facetious when he was like,
I had the best time ever in New York, Like, yeah,

(43:23):
you're stunk.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
There, but did you entirely of the city. Man, Let's
go to.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Hawson, Maine. We got a bunch of phone calls. We'll
go rapid fire and then we'll play last one standing,
and we got some other stuff to get to in
the world of football and basketball. What's up, has Hey,
I's going, guy, what's up Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 4 (43:40):
All day?

Speaker 11 (43:41):
New York Giants able to push over and that's their needs.

Speaker 10 (43:46):
And the only reason why he'd go to the Raiders
is because it'd be out in the middle of the
desert and he can go do his rooms out there
peacefully in a nice dry dave climate.

Speaker 4 (43:55):
So that's my date.

Speaker 2 (43:56):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
Man, you're saying Giants are Raiders have sort of that
was what I was thinking. And then I was very
easily convinced by Dan Bayer that they don't even want
that personality in the building. They're well coached, they got
a good front office. The Vikings had a very surprisingly
great year, Like, why contaminate that with Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 1 (44:15):
I get that, man, Yeah, but I would think that
would be the best spot for him.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
But yeah, I think Dan's right. What do you say,
Todd in Green Bay? Hey Todd, Hey Todd, Hey, I
got it.

Speaker 10 (44:26):
So he's going to Pittsburgh, great defense, but this is
the caveat Pittsburgh is going to draft Dark Jackson, Dark
you've got to sit behinlland Rogers for two years. That's
the key.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
I don't I don't hate that. It's just I read
and nothing's fact. It was a speculation that Russell Wilson
wasn't bad. No, yeah, I was gonna say. The mean
speculation I saw was that Russell takes a chance when
he did a decent job, he was the problem. Apparently
Russ has the support of some important folks in the playoffice.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
So I like that answer. If Russ wasn't decent, like
he to me, he's better than Rogers at this point, Andy,
Rhode Island, you're all at coven On Rich what's up,
buddy boy? What up? Man? Andy? Andy?

Speaker 1 (45:19):
Andy?

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Once going twice? We hope Andy's okay?

Speaker 6 (45:23):
When you say it was the cold whipping winds, will you.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
Say Andy like that? Does everyone else think of pee
Wee's big Adventure?

Speaker 2 (45:28):
I hope so, because that's what I'm doing, Andy, Andy,
Bruno and Brooklyn wrapping up Bruno.

Speaker 11 (45:36):
Hey Bruno, tell him and good afterno him all time
those steak I really enjoyed the showdown in uh New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Fantastic week, Thank you, sir. What up buddy?

Speaker 10 (45:46):
Hey, listening.

Speaker 11 (45:47):
Getting on here with Rogers is a long suffering Jets stand.
I mean, I'm not sad to see him. Guys think
they're going to do okay with the new coaching. But
that being said, he's got a lot of options in
the sense of one, he's not going to go to
a rebuilding team because he's got to go where there's
an O line. He can't take any more beatdowns. He's
gonna have a few people, but he can't go to
one of these clubs that's basically starting over. He'll get killed.

(46:09):
He just can't do it. He's got to go where
there's so many that's got a winning, winning pedigree, that's
got a line, that's got some some pieces, and that's
he's gonna land.

Speaker 12 (46:17):
He can't go to like a rebuilt club.

Speaker 11 (46:19):
He just can't.

Speaker 12 (46:20):
He won't.

Speaker 10 (46:20):
He won't be able to.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
Yeah, he's got he's got to go to a team
that's close, which is why.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
On screen Steelers man, I would man, it's time to
play Last one Standing.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia
live man, I don't put your electronic devices down and
pick your sports knowledge CNRS.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
Last one Standing, Last one Standing?

Speaker 5 (47:00):
All right, boys have four categories ready to go if
needed a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
In the round.

Speaker 5 (47:07):
If you run out of time or you answer incorrectly, Iowa,
Sam will scort you out with his big bad buzzer.
We keep battling until you are the last one standing.
If you win two of the rounds, you're the top dog.
Here are the contestants. Five time winner Steve Covino, he
actually won.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
To the right of him. Eight time winner Rich Davis his.

Speaker 13 (47:30):
Analogy sucker, he's got a weird head.

Speaker 5 (47:33):
The leader in the clubhouse. Twenty three time winner Dan Bayer.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Love that.

Speaker 5 (47:37):
And we're gonna go to the studio lines right now
to see who's playing for a CNR Stainle and Steel Swiggy.

Speaker 2 (47:42):
It is Cameron in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It's up, Bud, Hey, buddy, Hey, Cam,
really quick? What do you do for a living there?

Speaker 1 (47:51):
So?

Speaker 10 (47:51):
I actually turning up.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
His own business in Fort Wayne? All right?

Speaker 5 (47:58):
And by the way, Spot, does he manufacture excitement at
least hopefully we can hear. I know we got to
hear his answers in this game. Spot is the fact checker.
I hate it when I say your name. The clock
is going to begin. Here is the first category. I'm
going to two parades. You have five seconds to name
an NFL player who was named Super Bowl MVP in

(48:18):
the past twenty years. All right, super Bowl MVP in
the past twenty years. Covino, You're gonna be at first
as soon as the clock goes now.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Jalen Hurts, Oh, come on, I gotta go there. How's
it give me? All right? Rich cheap Thomas Brady never
heard of him.

Speaker 5 (48:36):
Good one go, Buyer, Patrick Mahomes never heard of him.
Good one go. Cameron Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning, Good back
back to Coveno, Eli Manning, Eli Manning on the list,
Fire Drew Breesrew Brees on the list, Cameron, what about me? Oh,
I'm sorry, Rich Rich, I'm.

Speaker 6 (48:57):
Sorry, big Ben Roethlisberger, Big Ben Author's Burder not on
the list of the last years.

Speaker 5 (49:03):
Oh, I'm sorry about that. I guess we skipped you
for a reason. All right, you buyer Drew Brees, Yeah,
so who said that? Know what happened is I think
they went Coveno to me and I said breeze. Then
they went to our bed, our bed. So it should
be the callers turn.

Speaker 12 (49:22):
Cameron Russell Wilson, So I gotta go, yeah.

Speaker 5 (49:30):
Okay, now Buyer, Malcolm Smith correct good poll coveno uh
three two one fire is the last one standing in
that round?

Speaker 4 (49:49):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (49:49):
Was Peaceboat a super Bowl MVP?

Speaker 1 (49:51):
No?

Speaker 13 (49:52):
No, Rogers, Aaron Rodgers, Cooper Cup, Antonio Holmes, Antonio.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
Homes Uh, Julian Edelman, Edelman was.

Speaker 5 (50:01):
On there, Flacco, Heinz Ward, Oh, Rogers, von Miller.

Speaker 2 (50:07):
That's right, all right?

Speaker 3 (50:08):
Second category money man I does get. It's a category
that's tricky because I could you know, even if you
could know every single winner, loser score where it was.

Speaker 5 (50:18):
You're so yeah, you're so good with super bowls and
the scores and an MVPs.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
But the von Miller one that got that one? All right?

Speaker 5 (50:25):
Second Buyer's on the board. Second category now blank checks.
You have five seconds to name an MLB team who
is top fifteen and free agency money spent so far
in twenty twenty five. All right, Cameron, you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
Be a first Go Dodger.

Speaker 5 (50:41):
Dodgers on the list, Yeah, number two on that list, right, yes,
Matt Buyer, Metts Mets on the list, number one, number one.
What do you think right into Rich that's his favorite.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
Let's go to the Los Yankees lost, Yankees on the list.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Covino Junkies, Top fifteen Giants, Giants on the list. Back
to Cameron uh Ra rais no, none of the list.

Speaker 5 (51:12):
Sorry, Cam. Buyer Diamondbacks, Diamondbacks are on the list.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Rich this year. It's money spent this year off the Geese,
Red Sox Red Sox nonetheless, just yeah, sorry, sorry about that.
Cove Blue Jays, Blue Jays on the list. Buyer Tigers,

(51:41):
Tigers are on the list. Good one.

Speaker 13 (51:45):
Padres, Padres, none of the less.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
Just like that buyer who.

Speaker 10 (51:53):
Brave.

Speaker 2 (51:54):
The Braves are filling. The Braves were on the list.
Let's say signed though this is such a Braves.

Speaker 13 (51:58):
Spent They were on the They spent ninety six million
in the off season.

Speaker 5 (52:03):
You know, you know, some of it is the size
of contracts to which not just the amount of players.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Jeels Astros.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
I'm not saying it's I'm not saying he's a bunk category,
but it's such a tricky one because like game no,
But what I'm saying is like meaning not meaningless signings,
but like if they re signed five middle infielders and relievers.
That adds up, so it's really matter what team's contracts
are all up.

Speaker 2 (52:26):
I'm at note the Dodgers got Kershaw coming back. Huh yeah?

Speaker 5 (52:30):
Why one year deal? He's a clubhouse guy at this
point and one of their leaders.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
So I know that Hayden on the guy. But is
he gonna pitch or what? We'll see how healthy he
is when they have a nine man rotation and they
went one hundred and thirty games. Actually, he's kind of cool,
but he could fill some innings. Rich is right? Can
I can I tell you what I feel about the
Kershaw thing.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
It's very much like you know, Peyton Manning gave so
much the football and then he won a Super Bowl
where he had no business really winning like that. He
was done and the defense carried him. You know, Clinton
Kershaw deserves to be carried. Oh man, I'm not dissing
on the guy at all.

Speaker 1 (53:07):
I'm just surprised he's sticking it out one more year
because he barely hung on last year.

Speaker 5 (53:10):
I thought that's good for him. Yeah, for him, is right. Cameron,
thank you for playing the game there in Fort Wayne.

Speaker 2 (53:16):
Thank you, buddy. That was my weakest showing I did
not like that. Byer just slaps us around like we're
a little baby boys.

Speaker 8 (53:24):
I only thought four people signed this offseason.

Speaker 2 (53:27):
To be honest with you, it's gone so under the radar.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
DB, I'm being serious. I was like, who even signed Soto?
The Yankees had some big signings the Dodgers. Then I
was like, you said, Padres, that was wrong too.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
Yeah, it's wrong. I thought, maybe you know tricking money.
All right, let's go to Dan Byer for an updated b.
What's about man?

Speaker 8 (53:46):
You guys mentioned the Clinton Kershaw deal. He's gonna be
thirty seven next month, but this will be season eighteen
for him in a Dodgers uniform.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Signing a deal. It's crazy. He feels like an old
dirty right.

Speaker 4 (53:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (53:58):
Yeah, it started when he was twenty. The Dodgers just
gonna make it official once he passes his physical. His
former teammate with the Dodgers, Kenny Jansen, has found work.
Thirty one year old reliever as signed a one year
deal worth ten million dollars with the Angels.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
The GM's getting death threats kill Nico. Like it's terrible.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
I feel about even saying that, Like I feel like
it's wrong, Like I'm I'm perpetuating it or something.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
We're just telling you the story. It's horrible, Like get
a grip, Aerosmith style, Get a grip.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
Losing your franchise player sucks, but I think this one's
stung a lot. Let me compare it to a breakup,
because we're good at that. Rich I've lost a lot
of relationships, but you know which one's destroyed me the most,
Like destroyed my soul. I'm serious where I didn't see
it coming. Oh yeah, right, Like sometimes you're thinking things
are great, she's obsessed with me, she loves me, she'd

(54:59):
never she's the best girlfriend ever. All of a sudden
she's dating some other professional athlete, not to be oddly specific,
and you didn't see it coming, and you're just destroyed
because your ego thought you were the greatest thing going.
You thought she'd never leave you, and she left you
like overnight, out of nowhere, and you're.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
Like, what did that kill me?

Speaker 1 (55:22):
This is oddly specific, I know, but that's how it
was for Dallas.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
You know, like that coming you mean with like your
longtime girlfriend you love ends up with a New York ranger.
I mean, like you know, but dude.

Speaker 1 (55:32):
That's what hurts the most, right, Like, when you don't
see it coming, you have no idea, you got what.
You weren't prepared for that, And that's how the fans
are and that's why they're reacting this way.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
There was no whispers, no murder. No one thought this
was this was like ripping off the band aid, right,
He's like, what You're like, no way. That's why everybody
thought Sean's got hacked.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Right, So based on that and all the crying we're seeing, Yeah,
Crossfire baby come back? Who left you feeling super sad
when they left your franchise?

Speaker 2 (56:01):
What's up? Play it all?

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Right, Let's go to Derek and Alabama. Derek, who comes
to mind the coach player who left your team and
it left the fans in tears?

Speaker 2 (56:11):
What's up? Derek?

Speaker 12 (56:12):
Hey, guys, Oh gosh, that song that's perfect for mine.
But give me two, give me two one. It's just
oh gosh, man, when I had two calls at three
point thirty in the morning, Derek to Ordon's retiring, Oh
my gosh, I just I can't tell you all, guys. Yeah,
oh it was horrible, horrible, And then you know in

(56:33):
ninety eight, what's his name? That own we're letting them,
you know, the team fall apart?

Speaker 11 (56:37):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 12 (56:38):
One three in a row?

Speaker 11 (56:39):
That was?

Speaker 10 (56:39):
But yep, anyway, being.

Speaker 12 (56:42):
The biggest anti Lakers fan in our country. When Shack
got traded back in what was it ninety seven, ninety
eight or whatever, I just here I'd gone a decade
title free from the Lakers, and I was like, oh my.

Speaker 1 (56:56):
Gosh, hey, Derek, you're not very rapid fire, but I
love the call. Yeah, great call another time where we
have more time. David and Seattle rapid Fire go.

Speaker 12 (57:05):
Uh five ten and three quarters buck fifty eight. I'm sorry,
I thought this was dam Patrick Alice Rodriguez.

Speaker 5 (57:14):
Yeah, from uh left for the bag from Seattle, bag
of bag.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
Yeah, no doubt. I can imagine a Mariner's fan being
bummed about that one. Nate the Great in Las Vegas,
what's up, Nate?

Speaker 12 (57:25):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (57:25):
What's up? I think?

Speaker 10 (57:28):
Okay?

Speaker 12 (57:28):
See was a pretty salty one, Durant was That's a
good one.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
That's a good one because he was your guy. Yeah.
Derek in Washington State, what's too soon?

Speaker 2 (57:37):
Bro? What's up? Derek?

Speaker 10 (57:39):
There's there's not a lot of love in Carolina Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 12 (57:44):
But the joy when Christian McCaffrey left, just all joy
in the building just vanished, evaporated, that we had nothing left.

Speaker 3 (57:52):
Yeah, you know what, I I reaped the benefits as
a Niners fan. And speaking of the Niners, it was expected.
But when the Niners finally moved off of Joe Montana
in lieu of Steve Young, most of the fan base
were Montana guys.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Like.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
It took everyone a minute to warm up to Steve Young.
You're like, who whoa you? Moving up with Montana? He's healthy?

Speaker 5 (58:11):
That was big in My favorite raider, Marcus Allen left
to the Chiefs, just like how Montana went to the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
Yikes. Curtis and Chtown wrapped us up.

Speaker 11 (58:21):
Hey, hello, guys, I love my dudes.

Speaker 10 (58:24):
Danny chief Spot, I was Sam Rich, make.

Speaker 2 (58:28):
It stappy, you got ten seconds.

Speaker 11 (58:30):
I got Rizzo from Chicago.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
Oh good one.

Speaker 3 (58:33):
You know I have a buddy whose dog's name is Rizzo.
He was the big Cubs fan. He wouldn't they didn't
want to pay him, I know. And then he doesn't
run to first base to cover up a play. All right,
we'll see you guys tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Have a good one. Are we even there?

Speaker 1 (58:47):
She made me see you in the premise land. Goodbye, guys, Bye,
