In the NBA, Nicks beat the Bulls on Wednesday to
take a one game to non lead. Now they're on
the cusp of taking a two games to non lead

as they lead the Bulls by eighteen with seven minutes
ago in the fourth quarter. Mike, I don't know the
Knicks get up to zip in this series. I don't
think you're coming back from it. The Knicks are closing.
I can't say that I'm really that concerned about it.
You can sell you down. You got down to December
and this is this is your playoffs, then you just

should just start walking. Game one was Wednesday, Game two
is tonight. I mean, I don't I don't know what
else to tell you. It's that I don't know if
you know, because you know, the NBA, they wanted that
new middle of the season, you know, competition. They're gonna
have like the like the mini NBA. That's what's happening
right now, right now, and these games are gonna suck.
Let's get them out of the way for the good

was coming, Okay, and now Mike White, who they thought
was going to play, after taking some hillacious hits in
the Bills game, including the one by a Allano that
that almost cut him in half, he went to ten
different outside doctors to try to get cleared to play
in this game. No doctors would clear him in time.
He's not cleared for contact. So Zach Wilson's going to

start for the Jets. Can I ask a question? I mean,
I've never heard of anybody going beyond I mean, and
maybe we just need to start doing in the count,
but have we ever heard of anybody going to any
more than one other opinion? They need two other opinion?
I went to ten different guys and anybody at that point.

Come on, Dr Nick, Dr Nick, I'm not everybody. They
took away my license. Damn it. You're like going into

How I feel about this now is I am curious,
but I'm not excited and curious but I'm fascinating, but
I'm not because I mean, look at the team you're facing. Yes,
the storylines are there everywhere. This is a game for
the it's a huge game. They're coming from your knee,

but legitimately for both teams, it's the first game that
has mattered in how long in December. Sure, yeah, it's huge. Yeah, No, no, no,
I'm not saying I'm not excited about the game. I'm
just I'm just curious about Zach Wilson. But I'm not
excited that Zach Wilson is playing. I don't I'm excited
about now. You know, Here's here's how I feel. Here's

how I feel like that. Here's an analogy to tell
you how I feel about this game. So a couple
of years ago, uh, this is probably about five or
six years ago, Pam and I were flying back to
Detroit and we're waiting at l a X for our plane,
and next, all of a sudden, next to us. I go,
oh my god, Pam, do you know who that is
over there? You know that that band is over there,
and you just know who? I go, that's l A Guns,

Like in l A Guns was like my way, l
A Guns was in the airport right and I'm going
l A Guns stuff because there's no chance in how
you're picking about of the lineup. No, no, no, nother
Well no, I knew. I know McK cripps and you know,
I know all the guys and Tracy Guns and I
know those guys. No, no, no, did sound like and

Tracy Guns? Tracy Guns is the original guitarist of Guns
and Roses where Guns and Roses came from. So and
I'm like, oh my god, that's my oh my god,
I got we gotta take it something to take a picture,
take a pic, takes picture. So Pam goes over, she

picture because I'm like, oh my god, I'm kind of nervous.
I'm like, that's this l A Guns and this is
like my my, my youth right now. Tight you're typing

Gun song? Sorry? He's looking at what he's looking at

so it's awesome. And and one of the guys says,
and they say, oh, we said where you guys headed.
He goes, uh, We're going to a gig in Buffalo

and we're like, oh cool, and and he says, I'm
not excited about it. They got this gig, And that's
kind of how I feel. Yeah, exactly. They don't sing
a song. And when these guys had a whole weekend
plan for everything, and I yeah, and I was like, Hey,
I got you guys a gig in Buffalo. All right,

we'll go. We know, we'll fly three thousand miles, we'll
take you know, well, we'll change over with planes to
get to Buffalo to go do it. So that's kind
of where I am about Zack Wilson. I'm curious, like, Okay,
the gig sounds great, but am I excited about it? No?
I'm not excited to see Zach Wilson because has he
really changed in a month? Has he really has he
really become a better quarterback? Oh, my footwork is better.

He looks downfield and doesn't know what he sees and
doesn't know what to do with the football. Suddenly he's
gonna get it. I mean, I really I want to
see it right. And I can see where maybe he
has glimpses a couple of times as good. But is
he really going to be a guy that's suddenly now
now I'm gonna throw three touchdowns? The team is on
my back. I mean I get that sitting back and
and and being threatened with job security is a thing,

but there's nothing that I've seen. There's no up and
down play for him. If it was up and down,
I would sorry, Maybe this I'd feel more excited because hey,
he's looked great at times and then other times he's
looked terrible and maybe need a little bit of an
attitude adjustment to say, hey, dude, you're playing for your
job every single week. But he's had no games where
I can say he was great there Now he's barely Okay.

They don't score points, they don't they don't they don't
get yards, and that's the biggest thing. And he's in
a point where I don't know what to expect from
the guy. But is he really fixed everything now? Because
he hasn't been good, he hasn't had a good game
all year and now suddenly, oh, now he's gonna be
good against the Lions when you're gonna have to score
some points to win this game. Now, I don't see it.
I'm i I want to be. I want to be excited,
but I can't be. I'm curious because as a Jets fan,

I'm fatalistic anyway. So I'm gonna go, yeah, alright, great,
let's go, let's go see this game. Great, here comes
this offense. The Jets defense is gonna play, you know,
they're gonna play out of their shoes to try to
shut down Jared Goff. And the defense is gonna play great,
They're gonna shut him down. Zach Wilson is gonna throw
three picks, and that's gonna be What the hell is
happening in this game? I mean, that's my fatalistic attitude
about about the Jets coming into this game on the

plus sign. As Robert Sala told us, quote, he's the
same quarterback now win eighteen for eighteen in a bowl game,
unquote the two eighteen famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Yeah, Western Michigan.
You know, I mean, Detroit's defense ain't much better than

what Tim Lester and his squad were putting out there, Mike, Yeah,
this game is not even gonna be close. The Lions
are going to Sunday look at the Lions. But but
the Jets d might be good enough. Jar looks like
the guy everybody hated for three defense stink that that

stop you, no doubt you're talking about man. The look
the Jets defense is the top five NFL defense. They
are they are Jets proof defense. He comes to play
every week. He just writes you with an extra long stick.
They the Jets defense is Jets like when when I
say Jets refin mean boy, the Jets screw things up. No,
the defense is really otherwise. We have a better record

than they do right now. But they're but well, if
they had a quarterback, we could score points that we'd
be under few on our way to thirteen and four
and and and winning the A. F're still plus twenty
one on the year. That's not awful, you know. No,
that's great. No, that's great. But we got it's third
in the division. Yeah, yeah, that's great. There's only four
teams in the division others his Miami. It's only four

teams center than Miami. We could talk about how complicated.

Are you nervous that this series could wind up being

it's building for next year. Look, there's been a lot
of rumors of the Bulls starting to trade off parts here,
so I mean there's still like, I'm still more angry
that the Bears got house by your Jets. M that's

a big deal to me. Yeah, you did, you did
basketball in the middle of December when these teams are
gonna play how many more times? But it's that mid
season playoff. We played Wednesday, we played right that we
play against Sunday, then we played Tuesday and Thursday. Well
is this who's this trophy named ever? Walt Frazier suits
it's the car Jest, It's the Jest for men mid
(14:27):
season classic. No, it's the Carmelo Anthony Trophy. And so
the looks so natural, no one can tell. So what's
exactly here's the John Starks Award? I mean, come on,
you can do this all day long, you know. But
it's funny you mentioned trade and uh, the big game
right now, the Lakers and the Nuggets five and a
half to go before halftime. Nuggets lead at Nicola. Yokich

has twelve, A, D and Lebron each have ten for
the Lakers, and you mentioned trade and you know, one
of the funny things about the Lakers. And I can
say surge, but but it's really not been a surge.
What are they seven and five and their less Oh
they're hot, there're seven to five. Yeah, okay, they've been
playing a little bit better. But I will say this
because now that the Lakers, and specifically a D and

Lebron have decided, hey, we need to buy in for
a little bit here, you know, we we could have
just walked away at two and eleven and said, hey,
we're done, but they decided to stay involved. And the
Lakers are playing a little bit better, right so that's good.
What this means is the Lakers are going to make
a trade very soon, and it's probably not gonna be
Westbrook because he's playing even though he's not happy, he's
(15:35):
playing better off the bench, and it's gonna be one
of those trades involving around like Pat Beverley and a
couple of players and maybe none as well. You know,
that's kind of what they're looking at right now, because
the Lakers can't just let this go this way right there,
with Lebron and a D playing better, this is now
putting pressure on the team and say, okay, hey we're
better now where we started out slow. That's great. We're
(15:57):
a little bit better now. We're probably a five team.
Hey we can get a shooter or something else. We
can be a lot better and maybe we can make
a run in the Western Conference. And the Lakers are
going to be pushed to making that trade. Now they
only have one bullet to fire, right, they only go
only do this one's only they have a couple of
different assets they can move here, we can bring in
this player, and they only really have one bullet to fire.
(16:17):
So you've gotta make it count. You gotta make sure
this is the move you want to do. But I
have no doubt the Lakers will make some kind of
big trade to help the team because with the big
star players saying, hey, we can be a little bit better,
the pressures now in the Lakers to not to not
do nothing and to try to help the team. They'll
do it. But it's one bullet to fire, and they
really got to make account. Yeah, I think when it
(16:39):
comes down to it, with the Russell Westbrook side of things,
we we've heard the last few days of that's all
cooled and how much better he's played. I don't know,
Maybe it's just a per minute if we want to
do that fuzzy math for you, and the the aesthetics,
the the eye test of it all, it looks better
and more relaxed and less frenetic and out of sorts.

But that one seems to be at the end of
the year, that'll just come to its natural conclusion. Congratulations
on a job done. Uh So, now you start settling
and looking in at Kendrick Nunn, Patrick Beverley and whether
those can be spun off somewhere again with the idea
hopefully that whatever you're bringing back in return as you

make these salaries match, you're not picking up a whole
bunch of extra years, right that if these are ancillary parts,
and and spin the wheel and hope for just a
little better success, a little better outside shooting that you're
you're not beholden to a multi year deal on the
back end if it goes awry. Yeah, and and it's it.

I don't know that you are getting into the point
where it's that kind of money. Um, but because what
you're really gonna be able to trade his teams look
for financial flexibility, different things. We're getting a pick, we're
getting all that. I don't know that they're I think
they got burned too much with the Russell Westbrook thing
where that's not that's not gonna be the move where
it's not gonna say, oh, here's a big time, big
(18:08):
player companies making a lot of money in this season.
No it's gonna be something else. It's gonna be something
to say, what piece do we need to put around
Lebron and a D to make sure you know, Lebron's
gonna say, I need to shoot it r I need
a shoot her. So I think it's gonna it's gonna
be something more like that. I don't think it's gonna
wind up being something expensive, but it's gonna be. It's
gonna be a little nerve racking because they gotta make

sure that this is the right one, because there's no
other move to make right. You you have that, like
I said, you have enough assets to make one trade,
and you've already you've held off on so many times
trading Russell Westbrook. You won't do it. You won't do it.
You won't do it. Okay, so now you have this,
but you really gotta make it count. So whereas whereas
I thought maybe this would be something that would happen
sometime around now, I wouldn't be surprised. It's got into

the new year and it came where the Lakers really
went with a fine tooth comb over things, said, Okay,
we are positive this is the deal we have to make.
That's gonna make us better because like I said, it's
only one. They only get to pull that trigger once
on it. I really just want to see the couiser
back four seven, five, three six and shooting a robust

everything is at its best as he has the option
to opt out at the end of the year. So
Kyle Kuzma coming back. You know, some guys would have
to eat crow. Uh. In the front office, there'll be
a bunch of I told you so's and whatever else.
But you're trying to find viable component parts to help
the process and and if the goal is truly to

make a push for Lebron and a d while they're here,
while they're healthy, because that's the other part of it
is we're here in the middle of December and you're saying,
all right, here they are, and they're playing better to
your point seven and five the last twelve, So how
much better is better? They're competitive each night. The we
had Dan Woiki on the other night. Uh, we had

a great profile on Darvin Ham and you can see
that there is some of the attitude leaching through, But
how much does that get you to the winners circle?
Like that's the larger things. So with those two guys
playing healthy, you're barely above five during that stretch, and
it may look a little better. You may play better
basketball and stretches against good teams. Can remember a lot

of those wins game against some of the dregs of
the n b A. But that game against the Celtics
the other night, look great, built a big lead, great comeback,
mis free throws and Lebron attempting a highlight top shot
moment that went awry, and then they lose an ot
So all of that effort still comes at a loss.

So you got to weigh all that if you're in
that boardroom to try to figure out, well, what what
are we mortgaging, what's the cost of admission, and what
are we really doing with these two guys, because even
at their best, we're still struggling. We could talk about

both like Baltimore to win. I like Baltimore to squeaking out.
Mike's like Baltimore in a big way. Miami and Buffalo.
This is it. I can't wait for this game tomorrow night. Right,
this is this is this is set up perfectly for Saturday.
You have the first game that could be a blowout.
Second but now you're talking about Miami and Buffalo, and
Miami's got a lot of questions because suddenly their offense
(21:46):
isn't quite as good as it was. And Buffalo is
sitting around here and in forty five ft of snow
going Our offense is not what it was the last
couple of weeks. But I'll tell you this, give me
the bills easy in this. Buffalo has had a couple
of really good defenses, right the last couple of weeks. Right,
you got to give credit sometimes with credits do that. Still,
(22:06):
they found a way and that's why they're a great team.
But that's kind of why they've been slowed down. Miami's
defense is middle of the pack. I mean, look, they're okay,
they're they're completely built on Hey, we gotta outscore teams
to win, and is that really going to happen? Buffalo
sees this as a we can win the division week.
Josh Allen balls out, he gets out of the frustration
of the last couple of weeks he's got slowed down.
(22:29):
They exhale, They score a ton of points, and to
A has a tough time getting the football down the
field because now the book is kind of out on
him and the book is out on the offense. Here's
how we can slow down Miami a little bit. Miami's
gotta find a way to readjust and I don't think
they do it. Tomorrogan's Buffalo on that defense. Give me
Buffalo in this onet seventeen. Buffalo seven point favorites in
(22:50):
this one. And as we we kind of breaking out,
no Von Miller, that doesn't matter. You've got guys getting healthy.
Bit by bit. Total is forty three and a half.
We'll see what the weather conditions are. But from Miami
back to back week seventeen points. Offensive line struggling, right,
they've been missing tackles component parts there too, uh under duress.
(23:14):
The if the timing isn't there, it's not working. The
run game is sputtered. Jeff Wilson had the turnover and
then he got hurt, So how much are you gonna
be able to rely on him in this one? And
they also I hate to keep harping on the the
stat but it is the one that matters most. They're
tied for in fewest turnovers They've They've forced twelve turnovers

all season long. That's down with Indianapolis and that's down
with the Buccaneers. And we've watched the Buccaneers from a
game the game basis, outside of that San Francisco game,
they hadn't been given up a lot of points, but
they also hadn't been getting the big plays that had
been such a component of their defense the last couple

of years. You want to guess who's who the least
aggressive and opportunistic defenses are. Beyond those those teams in
the National Football League, I think you could probably get
to them pretty easy. Least opportunistic the Jets, the Raiders
in the Saints. My next pick was I was gonna
(24:23):
say the Raiders, but next with the Raiders because the
Jet sey to get more turnovers. Raiders have turnovers. Yeah,
the Raiders defenses is awful because remember they made their
their big push. Chandler Jones outside of sorry Frostburg, that
big game against the Chargers, has been wearing a cloak. Hey,
I just reports that news. Okay, I didn't. I'm just

telling you where it's at all right. I mean, look,
if you go in hindsight, you might be able to
file a letter of appeal with the league saying on
one of them that they put too much of the

I feel as good today about their ability to make
the Super Bowl. And I'm not saying they're going to okay,
but I feel as good day as I did when
Garoppolo was out there, and I felt like a lot

better about their chance than making Super making a super Bowl,
not winning it, but making it with Garoppolo than with
tray Lands. So I don't think they've dropped it all
in and going to Brock pretty again. We've got three
more games during the regular season to see what happens.
Washington is probably going to give them, you know, pretty

good run. You know, they're Washington's defense is pretty good,
so they'll give them some pressure and trying to figure
them out. But you know, if they only have to
go through one of either the Cowboys or the Eagles,
and that's kind of how this thing is going to
shape up, because you know, Cowboys are going to be
the five seed in all likelihood. So if they go

in they beat Tampa Bay in the first round, that
sets up with Dallas having to go to Philly, and
that means the forty nine ers, if they can get
through it, only have to only have to see one
of them. Now that's a tough road game, probably at
Philly or you know, Dallas comes to San Francisco, but

they take their shot. I mean, is anybody scared of
Jalen Hurts or scared of Dak Dak Prescott. I don't
think so. Nobody's nobody's scared of anybody's quarterback, except for
of course Tom Brady. But that team is so so
not healthy that it's irrelevant. You look at this. Look,

I'm all in on on brock party. We've talked about
this since you know, he first came in the way
he plays, not playing like a rookie. It's almost like this.
It's like brock Party is a better Mike White, and
the Niners are a little bit better Jets. That's kind
of what they are, a little bit, yeah, a little
bit better. How many guys on the Jets offense could

start for the forty Niners offense? And the forty Niners
offense it's pretty good, it's not great, But how many
guys on the Jets offense could start for the forty Niners? Oh? Look,

is tonight. I mean, I don't I don't know what

was coming, Okay, and now Mike White, who they thought
was going to play, after taking some hillacious hits in
the Bills game, including the one by a Allano that
that almost cut him in half, he went to ten
different outside doctors to try to get cleared to play
in this game. No doctors would clear him in time.
He's not cleared for contact. So Zach Wilson's going to

start for the Jets. Can I ask a question? I mean,
I've never heard of anybody going beyond I mean, and
maybe we just need to start doing in the count,
but have we ever heard of anybody going to any
more than one other opinion? They need two other opinion?
I went to ten different guys and anybody at that point.

Come on, Dr Nick, Dr Nick, I'm not everybody. They
took away my license. Damn it. You're like going into

How I feel about this now is I am curious,
but I'm not excited and curious but I'm fascinating, but

you how I feel about this game. So a couple
of years ago, uh, this is probably about five or
six years ago, Pam and I were flying back to
Detroit and we're waiting at l a X for our plane,
and next, all of a sudden, next to us. I go,

over there? You know that that band is over there,
and you just know who? I go, that's l A Guns,

A Guns was in the airport right and I'm going
l A Guns stuff because there's no chance in how

we'll go. We know, we'll fly three thousand miles, we'll
take you know, well, we'll change over with planes to
get to Buffalo to go do it. So that's kind
of where I am about Zack Wilson. I'm curious, like, Okay,
the gig sounds great, but am I excited about it? No?
I'm not excited to see Zach Wilson because has he
really changed in a month? Has he really has he
really become a better quarterback? Oh, my footwork is better.

He looks downfield and doesn't know what he sees and
doesn't know what to do with the football. Suddenly he's
gonna get it. I mean, I really I want to
see it right. And I can see where maybe he
has glimpses a couple of times as good. But is
he really going to be a guy that's suddenly now
now I'm gonna throw three touchdowns? The team is on
my back. I mean I get that sitting back and
and and being threatened with job security is a thing,

but there's nothing that I've seen. There's no up and
down play for him. If it was up and down,
I would sorry, Maybe this I'd feel more excited because hey,
he's looked great at times and then other times he's
looked terrible and maybe need a little bit of an
attitude adjustment to say, hey, dude, you're playing for your
job every single week. But he's had no games where
I can say he was great there Now he's barely Okay.

They don't score points, they don't they don't they don't
get yards, and that's the biggest thing. And he's in
a point where I don't know what to expect from
the guy. But is he really fixed everything now? Because
he hasn't been good, he hasn't had a good game
all year and now suddenly, oh, now he's gonna be
good against the Lions when you're gonna have to score
some points to win this game. Now, I don't see it.
I'm i I want to be. I want to be excited,
but I can't be. I'm curious because as a Jets fan,

I'm fatalistic anyway. So I'm gonna go, yeah, alright, great,
let's go, let's go see this game. Great, here comes
this offense. The Jets defense is gonna play, you know,
they're gonna play out of their shoes to try to
shut down Jared Goff. And the defense is gonna play great,
They're gonna shut him down. Zach Wilson is gonna throw
three picks, and that's gonna be What the hell is
happening in this game? I mean, that's my fatalistic attitude
about about the Jets coming into this game on the

plus sign. As Robert Sala told us, quote, he's the
same quarterback now win eighteen for eighteen in a bowl game,
unquote the two eighteen famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Yeah, Western Michigan.
You know, I mean, Detroit's defense ain't much better than

what Tim Lester and his squad were putting out there, Mike, Yeah,
this game is not even gonna be close. The Lions
are going to Sunday look at the Lions. But but
the Jets d might be good enough. Jar looks like
the guy everybody hated for three defense stink that that

stop you, no doubt you're talking about man. The look
the Jets defense is the top five NFL defense. They
are they are Jets proof defense. He comes to play
every week. He just writes you with an extra long stick.
They the Jets defense is Jets like when when I
say Jets refin mean boy, the Jets screw things up. No,
the defense is really otherwise. We have a better record

than they do right now. But they're but well, if
they had a quarterback, we could score points that we'd
be under few on our way to thirteen and four
and and and winning the A. F're still plus twenty
one on the year. That's not awful, you know. No,
that's great. No, that's great. But we got it's third
in the division. Yeah, yeah, that's great. There's only four
teams in the division others his Miami. It's only four

you can do this all day long, you know. But
it's funny you mentioned trade and uh, the big game
right now, the Lakers and the Nuggets five and a
half to go before halftime. Nuggets lead at Nicola. Yokich
(14:51):
has twelve, A, D and Lebron each have ten for
the Lakers, and you mentioned trade and you know, one
of the funny things about the Lakers. And I can
say surge, but but it's really not been a surge.
What are they seven and five and their less Oh
they're hot, there're seven to five. Yeah, okay, they've been
playing a little bit better. But I will say this
because now that the Lakers, and specifically a D and

Lebron have decided, hey, we need to buy in for
a little bit here, you know, we we could have
just walked away at two and eleven and said, hey,
we're done, but they decided to stay involved. And the
Lakers are playing a little bit better, right so that's good.
What this means is the Lakers are going to make
a trade very soon, and it's probably not gonna be
Westbrook because he's playing even though he's not happy, he's
(15:35):
playing better off the bench, and it's gonna be one
of those trades involving around like Pat Beverley and a
couple of players and maybe none as well. You know,
that's kind of what they're looking at right now, because
the Lakers can't just let this go this way right there,
with Lebron and a D playing better, this is now
putting pressure on the team and say, okay, hey we're
better now where we started out slow. That's great. We're
(15:57):
a little bit better now. We're probably a five team.
Hey we can get a shooter or something else. We
can be a lot better and maybe we can make
a run in the Western Conference. And the Lakers are
going to be pushed to making that trade. Now they
only have one bullet to fire, right, they only go
only do this one's only they have a couple of
different assets they can move here, we can bring in
this player, and they only really have one bullet to fire.
(16:17):
So you've gotta make it count. You gotta make sure
this is the move you want to do. But I
have no doubt the Lakers will make some kind of
big trade to help the team because with the big
star players saying, hey, we can be a little bit better,
the pressures now in the Lakers to not to not
do nothing and to try to help the team. They'll
do it. But it's one bullet to fire, and they
really got to make account. Yeah, I think when it
(16:39):
comes down to it, with the Russell Westbrook side of things,
we we've heard the last few days of that's all
cooled and how much better he's played. I don't know,
Maybe it's just a per minute if we want to
do that fuzzy math for you, and the the aesthetics,
the the eye test of it all, it looks better
and more relaxed and less frenetic and out of sorts.
(17:00):
But that one seems to be at the end of
the year, that'll just come to its natural conclusion. Congratulations
on a job done. Uh So, now you start settling
and looking in at Kendrick Nunn, Patrick Beverley and whether
those can be spun off somewhere again with the idea
hopefully that whatever you're bringing back in return as you

make these salaries match, you're not picking up a whole
bunch of extra years, right that if these are ancillary parts,
and and spin the wheel and hope for just a
little better success, a little better outside shooting that you're
you're not beholden to a multi year deal on the
back end if it goes awry. Yeah, and and it's it.

I don't know that you are getting into the point
where it's that kind of money. Um, but because what
you're really gonna be able to trade his teams look
for financial flexibility, different things. We're getting a pick, we're
getting all that. I don't know that they're I think
they got burned too much with the Russell Westbrook thing
where that's not that's not gonna be the move where
it's not gonna say, oh, here's a big time, big

player companies making a lot of money in this season.
No it's gonna be something else. It's gonna be something
to say, what piece do we need to put around
Lebron and a D to make sure you know, Lebron's
gonna say, I need to shoot it r I need
a shoot her. So I think it's gonna it's gonna
be something more like that. I don't think it's gonna
wind up being something expensive, but it's gonna be. It's
gonna be a little nerve racking because they gotta make
(18:30):
sure that this is the right one, because there's no
other move to make right. You you have that, like
I said, you have enough assets to make one trade,
and you've already you've held off on so many times
trading Russell Westbrook. You won't do it. You won't do it.
You won't do it. Okay, so now you have this,
but you really gotta make it count. So whereas whereas
I thought maybe this would be something that would happen
sometime around now, I wouldn't be surprised. It's got into

the new year and it came where the Lakers really
went with a fine tooth comb over things, said, Okay,
we are positive this is the deal we have to make.
That's gonna make us better because like I said, it's
only one. They only get to pull that trigger once
on it. I really just want to see the couiser
back four seven, five, three six and shooting a robust

everything is at its best as he has the option
to opt out at the end of the year. So
Kyle Kuzma coming back. You know, some guys would have
to eat crow. Uh. In the front office, there'll be
a bunch of I told you so's and whatever else.
But you're trying to find viable component parts to help
the process and and if the goal is truly to

make a push for Lebron and a d while they're here,
while they're healthy, because that's the other part of it
is we're here in the middle of December and you're saying,
all right, here they are, and they're playing better to
your point seven and five the last twelve, So how
much better is better? They're competitive each night. The we
had Dan Woiki on the other night. Uh, we had

a great profile on Darvin Ham and you can see
that there is some of the attitude leaching through, But
how much does that get you to the winners circle?
Like that's the larger things. So with those two guys
playing healthy, you're barely above five during that stretch, and
it may look a little better. You may play better
basketball and stretches against good teams. Can remember a lot

of those wins game against some of the dregs of
the n b A. But that game against the Celtics
the other night, look great, built a big lead, great comeback,
mis free throws and Lebron attempting a highlight top shot
moment that went awry, and then they lose an ot
So all of that effort still comes at a loss.

So you got to weigh all that if you're in
that boardroom to try to figure out, well, what what
are we mortgaging, what's the cost of admission, and what
are we really doing with these two guys, because even
at their best, we're still struggling. We could talk about

Miami's got a lot of questions because suddenly their offense

isn't quite as good as it was. And Buffalo is
sitting around here and in forty five ft of snow
going Our offense is not what it was the last
couple of weeks. But I'll tell you this, give me
the bills easy in this. Buffalo has had a couple
of really good defenses, right the last couple of weeks. Right,
you got to give credit sometimes with credits do that. Still,

they found a way and that's why they're a great team.
But that's kind of why they've been slowed down. Miami's
defense is middle of the pack. I mean, look, they're okay,
they're they're completely built on Hey, we gotta outscore teams
to win, and is that really going to happen? Buffalo
sees this as a we can win the division week.
Josh Allen balls out, he gets out of the frustration
of the last couple of weeks he's got slowed down.

They exhale, They score a ton of points, and to
A has a tough time getting the football down the
field because now the book is kind of out on
him and the book is out on the offense. Here's
how we can slow down Miami a little bit. Miami's
gotta find a way to readjust and I don't think
they do it. Tomorrogan's Buffalo on that defense. Give me
Buffalo in this onet seventeen. Buffalo seven point favorites in

no Von Miller, that doesn't matter. You've got guys getting healthy.

of years. You want to guess who's who the least
aggressive and opportunistic defenses are. Beyond those those teams in
the National Football League, I think you could probably get
to them pretty easy. Least opportunistic the Jets, the Raiders
in the Saints. My next pick was I was gonna

say the Raiders, but next with the Raiders because the
Jet sey to get more turnovers. Raiders have turnovers. Yeah,
the Raiders defenses is awful because remember they made their

then like so much Fats and then Garoppolo or trade Lands,
it's ridiculous. And this it always reminds me about like
the so much of quarterback, you know, And I used
to think like being a great quarterback was physically you

have to be big and strong and throw it really
far all these other things. And it's like the older
I get, the more it's like now it's a lot
close to ft you really need just need to know
what you have to do if you need to If
you know what you have to do a and then
be no what to do when things go wrong, Like

have some clue whether that's even just get on the
ground and don't get killed, right, have a clue about
what you want to do when things go wrong. If
you know that much, you you can play in this league.
And Brock Purties is proving that now. Yes, they have
a lot of talent, they've got great defense, got a

lot of support. Yes, absolutely, but right now, and I
was talking to a foregnerative assistant coach today about it,
I feel as good today about their ability to make
the Super Bowl. And I'm not saying they're going to okay,
but I feel as good day as I did when
Garoppolo was out there, and I felt like a lot

better about their chance than making Super making a super Bowl,
not winning it, but making it with Garoppolo than with
tray Lands. So I don't think they've dropped it all
in and going to Brock pretty again. We've got three
more games during the regular season to see what happens.
Washington is probably going to give them, you know, pretty
(34:24):
good run. You know, they're Washington's defense is pretty good,
so they'll give them some pressure and trying to figure
them out. But you know, if they only have to
go through one of either the Cowboys or the Eagles,
and that's kind of how this thing is going to
shape up, because you know, Cowboys are going to be
the five seed in all likelihood. So if they go
(34:46):
in they beat Tampa Bay in the first round, that
sets up with Dallas having to go to Philly, and
that means the forty nine ers, if they can get
through it, only have to only have to see one
of them. Now that's a tough road game, probably at
Philly or you know, Dallas comes to San Francisco, but

they take their shot. I mean, is anybody scared of
Jalen Hurts or scared of Dak Dak Prescott. I don't
think so. Nobody's nobody's scared of anybody's quarterback, except for
of course Tom Brady. But that team is so so
not healthy that it's irrelevant. You look at this. Look,

I'm all in on on brock party. We've talked about
this since you know, he first came in the way
he plays, not playing like a rookie. It's almost like this.
It's like brock Party is a better Mike White, and
the Niners are a little bit better Jets. That's kind
of what they are, a little bit, yeah, a little
bit better. How many guys on the Jets offense could

start for the forty Niners offense? And the forty Niners
offense it's pretty good, it's not great, But how many
guys on the Jets offense could start for the forty Niners? Oh? Look,
