Did you play the tight shirt version as he walked
out or no? No, they meant rule. A couple of
(01:01):
times you played a couple of songs. It was always
pretty good. But I gotta tell you I'm in I'm
in overload right and I'm in sensory overload right now.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I had the NLCS game too. Today. My dad and
I went.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
To the game, came right from here to work, and
now you know, we have the Yankees playing and and
gian Carlo Stands just hit a big home run. Text
your dead for that guy, Text your dead. Of course,
the Jets on Monday night.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Fo.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Yeah, it's two.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
It's a lot for one day. I feel like, no,
there's never too much. No, I feel like it's a
lot for one day. Man, this is a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
I mean there's a lot of New York sports because
you add preseason basketball, you add.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Screaming it that Rick whatever that was.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
I mean, I don't know what's real versus k fame
and all of that, but it makes for good theater
and extra storylines for us.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
So it's good.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
But that But that's the best part of today is
that I said to myself, oh, man, okay, So now
Devincenzo and Rick Brunson barking at each other had to
be separated after the next game against the Timberwolves. Yesterday,
the Jets and the Bills and the Jets just can't
sack Josh Allen. They have him in his grass, they
let him go. He keeps plays alive that's every single
play for the Bills tonight. Then I go, what am
(02:10):
I worried about? This silliness for it NLC. Yes, it's
time one game a piece. Going back to New York.
I went to the game today with my dad. I
got no time for silliness in Shenanigans.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
This is what I have. Reges tied one apiece.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
You got to see the win out of those because
if you'd gone yesterday, miserable.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yesterday, if I went yesterday, did it today?
Speaker 5 (02:32):
No, you would have watched today have been like really
in the end, Dad took care of you, got your helmet, nachos,
aah wins.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
But think about this today.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Bills, Jets, Mets, Dodgers obviously, Guardian, Yankees, Red Wings, Rangers, Islanders, Avalanche.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
And Wizards nets. That's all today.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah, and oh by the way, don't forget yesterday was
Mets Dodgers Giants on Sunday night football like this twenty.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
This is like you watch that game? So talking it?
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh of course I did, come on, man, of course?
Oh uh did I watch?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Well, it was kind of on.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
It was one of those where it was kind of
on after like in between innings, I would go and
check it and go back and.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Say I'm not missing anything and still.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
One of those where it's like a right, good effort,
good effort, and then there's gonna be a play to
break your back, and sure enough there's the Chase Brown touchdown.
Yeah it was yeah, didst awful, but but today I
mean chaos. You got to go to the game. Oh,
send us a picture of you with your loaded up
nachos and you know, here's the thing and meeting up
with Rob Harker for yeah, So there you go. So
we'll get to the NFL game coming up in a second.
(03:34):
We'll get to Aaron Rodgers and what's happening. Jets trail
the Bills twenty to seventeen early in the third quarter.
Time out on the field. So my dad and I
go to the game today and it was great, like
you know, and and you know, going with him was
so cool. It was a really great with great idea.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
You have a catch.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
No, we didn't have a catch, did not not have
a catch. But the thing is, he goes, okay, I said,
all right, the game starts at one oh eight. I said,
So you're gonna come pick me up, gonna go to
the game. And then you're gonna drop me off at
work after Okay, great, I said, all right, come over.
Like if we leave it like eleven eleven thirty, we
should be fine getting the games at one thirty. Because
he said, I want to get there. I want to
(04:11):
be able to go to the store. The guy want
to get a couple of things. Yeah, sure, I said,
let's go eleven eleven thirty. He's at the house at
ten fifteen. Of course, he says, let's go. We leave it.
We leave it ten a week. At that point, I
had just gotten up. We leave at ten thirty. We
get to the game ten minutes after they open the
gates for everybody. Like it's like one of those I
(04:34):
can't wait to get to the game. I'm like, all right,
we're here. I go, Dad, the game is in two
hours and ten minutes. I go, we have a lot.
He goes, I want to go to the store. I go, Dad,
the game is in two hours and ten minutes. It's
it's all okay. So we go to So we go
to the store. He goes to the store, and you know,
he buys a couple of things. We go to the
pavilion area to eat lunch, because now we have plenty
(04:54):
of time. And it was great because we shared our
table with a bunch of different fans who came and
sat with us, Like, because we're sitting there for like hours,
we have nothing to do, and so hey, can we
come city? He has to talk with Dodger fans, talk
with and talk with Mets fans who came and everything,
and it was but I got to say, is that,
you know, And that was how the day started. And
I'm like, I can't believe we're here so early, but
it actually worked out really great. And and and being
(05:15):
there getting to eat Helmet nachos right away at eleven
o'clock in the morning, you couldn't beat it. And at
the end of the day, not to get all schmaltzy
on you, but in the in the ninth inning, it
was really stressful. Obviously, when Diez comes in, he gives
up a hit and he walks Otani right, and I'm going, Met,
we can't do anything. We can't do it easy, right,
we can't do it easy. And I'm going, oh my god,
(05:36):
I'm thinking I'm glad we're up for because if he
gives up a home run Hernandez, everything else I'm like,
oh my god, you know, it.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Can never be easy.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
And there was a point where where he walks Otani
and Otani's going down to first base and I just
look over and I'm standing next to my dad and
I look over and he's just ah and he gets
really mad look and he was rooting for the Mets
the whole game.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Where is Yankee at though? Of course?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
And you know, I'm like, Dad, Dad, don't I go,
don't worry yet. But but everybody got even with him. Noo,
everybody with my dad. I'll say that story too. See
where's the Yankee hat? Right, I'm going, oh my god, dad.
But I look next to him and he was, oh, man,
that was I said, yeah, that was rough. That was rough.
And I sat there and I and I sat there
for a second. I said, you know, if Diaz gives
(06:18):
up a home run here and they give another couple
of runs, like this is a day like I haven't
had a day like this with my dad, and I
don't know if I'll ever have another day like that
with him, where we just he and I went to
the game with both, you know, both loving baseball, going
to it's my first playoff game, my first Mets playoff
game I've ever been to in person. So I've never
been to a Mets playoff game. It's his first playoff
(06:39):
game of any kind that he'd ever been to. Ok
And I just said, you know, if Diaz gives up
a home run, I'm gonna be okay. And then Diaz
struck out the next three and I was like, okay, good.
Then I thought, boy, would I really have been okay?
What I really have been a game?
Speaker 3 (06:54):
But but at that in that moment, I was like,
you know, this is and again why.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
You know baseball? I turned into a twelve year ol
kid all the time. But it was really it was.
It was just a great moment. Now juxtapose that with
what happened moments before. Okay, this is my favorite part
of the day. So ninth inning, Mets Dodgers. The Mets
are up seven to three, and it looks like the
dot the Mets are going to win, right, We're going
to the bottom of the ninth inning. Diaz had struck out,
(07:20):
come in and get the strikeout to end the uh
or get the fly out to end the eighth inning.
And so Mets fans have been drinking most of the
day Dodger fans have been drinking most of the day.
And in my section, guy behind me is a Mets fan.
I talked to him the whole games, and here, you
want to you want you want to vait with me?
I said, Now I gotta work tonight. Oh come on,
just vapul, I go, no, I can't kid all right,
all right, right, but that's New Yorker's right. You meet
(07:41):
somebody for five minutes your best friends. Sure so, but
things are getting a little a little tense with the
back and forth, with everybody yelling at each other, and
I'm going, oh, boy, this is this is this is
going to be something here, like because I want to
be able to celebrate when the Mets winner. I know
it's going to be weird. And all of a sudden,
everybody's kind of drawn at each other. I'm going, this
is going to get out of control. And somebody, somebody
(08:02):
just says, hey, come on, man, let's remember the Yankee suck.
And they go yeah, and all of a sudden, Mets
and Yankee fans to Mets and Dodger fans together start
chanting Yankee suck, Yankee suck. It was like when run
DMC and and and Aerosmith did walk this way. It
was like everybody, everybody looked at we can all come
to here. You think the world is doomed. I just
(08:22):
watched Metson Dodgers fans who were at each other's throats
sit there chatting Yankee suck. And of course I'm next
to my dad and he slouches down in his seat.
It's got his yanked. And I stand up next to
him and I point my going, yankee suck, Yankee suck,
Yankee fan yakeeck.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
That you turned on your old man, all that five minutes,
all that romanticism about baseball and father son moments, it was,
but c you the violins, all of that five minutes,
you turn out.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
You cut him loose so.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Fast that wait, I got one right here, guys, hey,
right here, Look what I got. He look at yankee
Yankee suck. And that was five minutes before I had
that moment with olifd has lets them go, it's.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Gonna be fine. That was That was That was the ride,
the lightning of the ninth inning. That was going on.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Well, because it's funny, because that's that anything starts. And
my brother text me, he goes you remember the old
ed farmer keep it within a slam, right, so it's
only a four run. Obviously, the insurance run comes into play,
and they even mentioned it on the telecast. Smoltz brought
it up. But just that idea of all right, we're
gonna get some anxious moments. But I dig that because
we had that with the Tigers and Guardian there was
(09:29):
a great after that series ended and they're going through
the parking lot. They had similar, similar satisfaction and a
come together moment of it's the world against the Yankees.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah at this point, oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
Even though they haven't been the quote unquote evil empire forever,
it stays.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
It's latent, right, It's like a cicada. It's sitting there
and it hasn't quite been seventeen years. But here we
are ready to go.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
What can we do? What can bring everybody together? And hey, guys,
remember the Yankees?
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was that was insane.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Is there any video of your section? I oh no,
I have too busy point. No no, no, I have
some video from the day which I've tweeted. I'll tweet
out some more of it. I have some video of that.
But the big thing I was not. I was not thinking,
let me turn the phone on and see it. That's
course I guess I should have. I should hold there's
gonna be a fight, I gotta turn this on. But
I would have had the whole thing of every everybody's together.
(10:24):
It's not like their arms around each other and their
beards in their hands.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
All right, Remember when it's all said and none one
of us is gonna go on to beat the Yankees.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
So we need to come together.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Now.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
We can unite with our hatred of the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
It's kind of how we know you're old because like
any like gen Z person would pull out their phone
and record it. It's like the first thing they do.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
I had my phone out a lot.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
I had my phone all I just didn't have it
out then because I was worried about if something happens here,
I got it.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I gotta protect my dad, and I was just yelling,
I gotta pick my daddy. I can't have my phone
in my hands. Can't do that. You live long and
I've gotta have video foot into that.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Wow, Hey sorry that. Oh boy, my dad's bleeding from
the temples. But boy, I got a great video we got.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
I always say video proofer it never happened. I don't lie.
I think people know I tell the truth on the.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Show that people know.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
How would we know you're a scorpio, that that's no
difference with that, that that doesn't matter that what what what?
What kind of debate is this?
Speaker 5 (11:21):
That doesn't matter anything? Diving into you know, the hocus pocus.
It is near Halloween, that is true. It is near
two more weeks.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
It is near Halloween. So all more on. Matt lobbyously
looked it was.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
It was.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
It was such an amazing day. But the Yankees stuff.
That's good me just standing up.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yankees, I got one right here, and you served him
up on a plant or what if they'd gone and
been like the yank I mean, if we're gonna go
down this row like you know Frankenstein's Monster, the Angry Villagers,
because you got a Yankee fan amongst you.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
He's slunk down.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Like that video of Rogers at at the end of
the game against the Broncos when he did that the
big gift that went where he's just sliding down his habit.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
That was my dad just sliding down. Okay, okay, he
was he wearing a hoodie or something where he can
cover up.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
No, he was just he was just wearing a He
was just wearing a No, you could see it. No, no, No,
he wears his Yankee head backwards. I'm like, Dad, you're
seventy seven, you gonna pay Okay, but fine, whatever, that's fine,
that's fine.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Just you know, I mean, I don't know. Just you know,
if he's comfortable with it, you know, run with it.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
No, that's why I didn't tell. I didn't say a
lot to him. I just say, okay, we're right.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
But he was.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
No, he was definitely up. Yankee's at it. Everything is
everything is good.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
The older I get, I mean, the more you do
you is really the adage as song as you're harming
me or anybody around you, Hey man, whatever you gotta
do now.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Meanwhile, speaking of Aaron Rodgers, Jets and the Bills, it
is a twenty to seventeen lead for Buffalo. It would
be a twenty one seventeen lead except for a missed
extra point. Aaron Rodgers having a big night, but having
a much bigger night because final play of the first half,
a fifty two yard hail Mary touchdown to Alan Lazard
(12:57):
tell Alan Who it has a little bit of a
jostling instance with the Bill's defensive back to catch the football.
And it is now a twenty seventeen game. Breece Hall
is going to make it looks like he's gonna make
it a Jets lead, except he's out of bounds at
the three. Finally Breese Hall breaking through. It's gonna be
(13:17):
first and goal for the Jets down twenty to seventeen.
He couldn't come on now, Rogers, just Rogers, just he
has forever for this hail Mary. Look, it's the big
viral sensation right now. You're going to see it one
hundred different plays, just like that. Some some quarterbacks can
make better throws than others when it comes to different things.
I can throw the deep out better, I can throw
(13:38):
on the run, I can throw across my body. Just
something about Rogers, who knows how to throw that hail mary?
So it comes like what it is with him is
it comes straight down, So it's not like it's not
like you know, he throws it so because his arm
is so strong, it's just straight up in the air,
and when it comes straight down it's hard to catch
and obviously, if you're all lazard and you've caught it
from bassman for the past few years, everything is going
(14:00):
to be fun. But like, it's not where it's coming
and and the defensive back and see it, and they
can high point the ball and and they're able to
to break up the play. It's it's so high that
when it comes straight down, it's more of a toss
up and lizard kind of just just like sticks to
his body when he catches it and he goes down
and hits the ground and the bills. There was no like,
if you can box a guy out and you know
(14:21):
where that ball is coming down, you're gonna catch. It's
like catching a punt. So it really is just amazing
he can throw a ball like that and have it
and have it come down in such a way where
the the the DB's are. It's not our advantage that
it that it is normally in knocking.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
That ball down.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
Yeah, fourth hail Mary touchdown of his career, if memory
serves off the telecast, and and certainly the decision to
rush one was dubious.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Man, I know you want to get up touchdown. You
can fifty yards right now, we have arguments you and
I off.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Air about you know three or four quarterbacks that may
not be able to throw it that right now, but
you give any other quarterback in the NFL time. They
may not throw the pretty arcing ball that comes down
that way, but everybody's gonna give you a shot. If
you're not gonna rush the passer Exco Rico would throw
the football over the mountain.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Oh come on, you want to talk about hail Mary's exit?
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Out about a Fresca exit swalling down the Jason Smith

the big stories coming off a week six of the NFL.
Speaker 3 (15:52):

Speaker 1 (16:09):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
Live from the ti Raq dot Com Studios. Wow, big
offsetting penalties just togated what would have been a huge
game for the Buffalo Bills. Pass interference on the Jets,
but personal foul on the Bills. One of the linemen
drove one of the Jets defensive linemen into the turf.
(16:29):
Just seeing the replay for the first time. Now, so
Buffalo's got the ball still, third down, game is tied.
Bill's twenty Jets twenty forton had to go in the
third quarter penalty for driving a guy too the turf.
When you use your forum, Yeah, it's a little Did
they frown on that now? Okay, yeah they frown.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Can you just sell videos?
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Showed me that.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, like like the entire like what was it a
few months ago? Like someone put out, Hey, here's what
the NFL seventy seven open was. For the pregame show,
and it's like every single play you're seeing here is
a penalty.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
This is every single play now used as the video
of what.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Not to do that instead it was the open Hey, look,
you're gonna see all these amazing plays. Joining us now
the hotline for all the big news coming off of
week six in the NFL. Longtime NFL Insider with Odyssey
one oh five seven, the Fan in Baltimore, Washington Post,
and a man who jawed back and forth with Nick
Siriani at the end of yesterday. My dad the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
He was the guy.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
It's Jason locking for it. Jay, what's happening?
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Man? Oh man, I'm just trying to figure out, uh
this associating crew. Wow, this is something.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Hey, do me a favor when you figure out NFL officiating,
call us and let us know. Just list let's let
it when you want to talk about breaking news, yeah,
we'll get it. However long you need, we'll give it
to We'll give you the time.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Yeah, it's something else. Uh. Really, there's a slippery slope
here with this. You know, we get calls in from
New York about this, this this, but oh New York
can't talk about this, and oh, you know New York
can't clean that up, Blake, especially in these one window games.
I mean, they are really opening shows up for scrutiny,
(18:12):
and uh yeah, uh yeah, I'll just say scrutiny pretty
fishy about what they're willing to allow, you know what,
I mean, to be completely bogus.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Oh sure, what and what.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Has to be what has to be changed on the fly.
That's pretty interesting.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Uh, now tons of stuff to get to. But from
this game, well, obviously we'll we talked about a few
minutes ago. Look, the big play is Aaron Rodgers hail
Mary at the end of the first half. And we've
seen him do this now a couple of times. Is
it just that he can he can throw the football
so it comes straight down instead of and it's harder
to high.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Point like he's got to.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
I mean, this is a skill, the way he can
throw the football up and turn it into a real
jump ball situation.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
I guess. I mean, it's not something I've spent whole
lot of times thinking about. I have no idea. I mean,
I think the Bills obviously we're defending the boundary because
they thought they were going to try to take a
shot to move in the field goal range. And then
I guess there was a little bit of a scrambled
drill back there, and nobody got you know, position in
front of Wizard. Like I he's surrounded by Bill's defensive backs.
(19:20):
They roll behind him. So I don't know, you know,
I don't know if that's Aaron Rodgers, and I think
it's just kind of dumb luck. I don't think he
has any secret sauces. I think he's had some pretty
good receivers in the past who made some places for him.
And I think he's just trying to throw the ball
into the end zone as hard as you can. I mean,
if he's got it figured out, good for him. But uh,
(19:41):
I just I think, you know, I think that play
it's it's literally called the jump ball, right like it's
you're hoping, you're hoping something good happens. But I don't
know if there's a whole lot of you know, physics involved.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Now, Jason alluded to maybe maybe you were jawing with Sirianni.
Maybe you weren't.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
But a coming off of the twenty sixteen win over
the Browns, the schedule opens up quite nicely. But you
know the old adage, mister lockebor was never let him
see you sweat what's going on there?
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Oh he's he's got issues. I Mean, the good news
is they got their receivers back and they each made
a big play. But you know the bad news is
that was about the extent of their offense against a
really bad football team, a team that they couldn't really
distance themselves from or put away, despite the fact that
the Cleveland Browns like are systematically opposed to like they
(20:36):
don't play offense, like they don't believe in it. You know,
they don't. They don't want to convert their downs, they
don't want to play their best quarterback, like, they don't
want to have a downfield pass the game, Like like
I just looked it up to shau Watson first half passing.
He averages sixty eight yards a game in the first half.
I mean, what planning am I off? Because just that
(20:58):
wouldn't be good in high school. I mean, this is
has averages sixty eight yards through the air for first half.
We're six weeks into this thing.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I mean, this this is hassl.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
I'm telling telling say, you'd have to play him, right,
I mean, there's no there's no way Kevin Stefanci can
still meet everybody and say, hey, he still got I mean,
how does he do that unless he's told, yeah, you're playing,
And because I'm paying him all.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
This money, I mean, why is he Why is he
firing his offensive coordinator and getting Joe Flacco out of
the building If this wasn't about Deshaun Watson. I mean,
of course, the whole thing is about Deshaun Watson. I mean,
they had a real offense. They had they had the
best downfield passing offense in the NFL for six weeks
with this other guy, and they couldn't wait to run
him out of the building, like come on, come on.
(21:44):
So yeah, but as for the Eagles, they're in trouble.
Man like Zack Fanzie is not the answer in terms of,
you know, shoring up their defense. Their draft picks have
not hit lately. You know, the quarterback is kind of
kind of reached apparently a high watermark, and you know,
(22:06):
that's a really bad division, but it's not horrible, and
like I mean, like the Giants better than that, maybe,
like I don't know, like I I mean, Washington I
think certainly is you know, I just think that they're
gonna come up. They're gonna up coming up a little small.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
If only the Giants had a kicker. Jason Smith Show

Radio Studios. On the Hotline with us joins us each
and every week our guy Jason Locke and Foura at
Jason Locke and fora here in one O five seven
the Fan in Baltimore, Washington Post. Everything he's got going on,
find him on X at Jason locket for So let's
(22:46):
stay in division the floating dumpster fire that is the
Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Jerry Jones, Happy birthday, buddy.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Here's a big effort, and you know, don't call me
an idiot and all that stuff with Mike McCarthy. But
it seems like we're sinking down the river. And it's
a lot of money spent on two guys, and that's
about it.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
It's a bad roster. It's a poorly constructed team. They've
allowed the offensive line to fall into disrepair. And you know,
it's a really top heavy heavy defensive line that's got
a couple of guys who can rush the passer, but
it's not built to stop the run whatsoever. I thought
they would get completely railroaded by that two headed monster
(23:26):
on the ground, and then it just sets up play
action and you can pick them apart really however you want.
You know, offensively, you knew he was going to force
feed seed lands. These land was pissed off the week before,
and you knew some of those routes would probably get jumped.
And that, you know, the other team is a pretty
good idea of what their offense is, right, They sort
(23:47):
of a tright end a little and they sort of
the slot receiver a lot like. That's it not, you know,
there's no like unbelievable ideas. They're not doing anything innovative
with motion or pre snap stuff. They're front runner and
now they don't have leads anymore. So there's a lot
of trouble, you know. I again, that division, a lot
(24:13):
of teams have problems. It's hard to say who's worse
than whom at what. But I don't think the Cowboys
are good at very much when it comes to football,
all right.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Jay, lastly, let's sold from the teams that are underachieving
to I understand they lost the first week to Kansas City.
You had some dubious officiating, but I'll tell you what
right now, especially you know seeing what they did yesterday
being able to win. What are the Ravens the best
team in the AFCO?
Speaker 4 (24:39):
They might be. I mean it's a super elite offense,
that's for sure. Defensively, they still got things they need
to sort out. You know, they brought d MP's back
last week. That was a good step towards realizing they've
got some problems. You know, the past defense still gives
me a lot of pauls, but the run defense is
a lead. Everybody's got warts and halls. Jacks is playing
(25:00):
the best football of his career. I mean they are.
They are absolutely gutting people, and they're they're making you
pick your poison and whatever you try to sell out
to stop. They've got a couple of other things that
they can do really well that you probably don't have
the right personnel on the field to defend. So yeah,
I mean they're rolling the speed interesting game at Tampa. Like,
(25:24):
I don't think it's going to be an easy game
for them. I think Tampa's assortment of slot body types
between big tight ends and smaller receivers, there's going to
be trouble for them. Baker Mayfield extending plays thrown in
the middle of the field, there's going to be trouble
for them. I love the over in that game. But yeah,
the Ravens. The Ravens are a hell of a football team.
They see they have gotten their offensive line sorted out,
(25:47):
and that defense I think will get better as the
season goes on.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Jason, lastly, one over the top. Detroit beats the hell
out of Dallas. Are there you going to go find
Max Crosby and Adam In with the Hutchinson and this injury.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
It's an interesting thought that that really was tough to
watch yesterday. I mean, what that young man was doing,
I mean, he really was taking it to another level.
And I thought the most dominant defensive player in the
NFL the first six weeks of this season. I mean,
(26:20):
make an interesting thought, Max Crosby. I mean, I don't
know that there's going to be a ton of other
pass rush available or even you know, if they if
they do trade him, that would be something. If that happened,
they'd be the number one. They'd be number one of
my talent rankings. And I'm just trying to think of
(26:41):
some really bad teams off the top of my head like.
You know, the Browns aren't on trade moll Therett. You
know Jacksonville doesn't have a whole lot and what they
have from past rust standpoint, I don't think they want
to give up on yet. The Giants are loaded with
them and I don't think they're trading any of them.
That's the strength of the team. It will probab to
be the strangle that rebuilt once they get a real quarterback. Yeah,
(27:03):
there'd be quite a sweet stake from maxter Ogby, that's
for sure.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
He's on Twitter at Jason lock and four.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
That is at Jason Lock and four, Odyssey one, O
five seven the fan in Baltimore, Washington Post Jay as always, Buddy,
appreciate it, my friend.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
We'll talk to you soon.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yeah, man, enjoy the rest of this one, all right.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
To give you an update from this game, the Jets
look like they'll be kicking a field goal to attempt
to take the lead. They had scored a touchdown. Braylan
Allen goes in from two yards out. However, holding penalty
on Tyron Smith takes it back. Aaron Rodgers then throws
a pretty good pass into the end zone, but a
little late to Garrett Wilson, who gets absolutely crunched between
(27:41):
two defenders. Legal hit nothing, leading with a helmet. It
was just it was a hospital ball like Rogers. Rogers
just in a bad spot. Needed to throw with a
little bit more oomph on that ball, and Garrett Wilson
has it, but gets hit really hard, drops the ball.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
They had to go to commercial. He was on the ground.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
However, he has just gotten up and jogged off the field.
Jets will be attempting a field goal to take a
twenty three to twenty lead. So good to see Garrett
Wilson having a big night. Finally, look, hey, guess what
last couple of weeks you throw the ball at Garrett Wilson,
Good things happen.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Who knew?
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Well, don't get a pass rush? So even your suspect
offensive line looks decent. Maybe a little bit more to
the run game as well, to open things up. Go
figure it all comes together after your guy got fired.
Your guy, Hey, hey, listen, Todd down and calling plays
is working?
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Hey, Aaron?
Speaker 1 (28:33):
That hell?
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Mary? You do really well? Let's do that? Oh okay, great, great,
let's do it.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Hey let's wait, Hey, strawberry home run? Okay, coach, but coach,
you throw it to the end zone store brands. Hey,
I'm taking you out of the game. But coach, I
got nine home runs today. Yes, I'm playing the percentages. Yeah,
and then you know, just hey, how about we throw
the ball of Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
Oh, let's do that. Hey, Oh, this's working out great.
Maybe maybe it was Rob Solid Nathaniel Hackinswalt, Maybe it
was I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (29:05):

thank you for your support. We continue to love putting
this content out for you every single day. I said
the game was gonna be tied because you know, it's
a thirty two yard field goal and Greg Zerlin is
kicking it. However, Steve Desager's gonna tell us that is
actually not what just happened in the game, Steve.
Speaker 7 (29:44):
Actually, the game is still tied at twenty twenty final
minute of the third quarter because Yeah, Zerline missed the
thirty two yard field goal attempt hit the outside of
the left upright, no good on a windy night in
the New York area. You mentioned Garrett Wilson. That's eight catches,
one hundred and seven yards for a a touchdown almost
a second until the hit from Taylor rep. Buffalo takes
over just outside its own twenty. In this tie game,
(30:07):
Josh Allen has two touchdown passes, one td run Buffalo.
Keep in mind missed an extra point kick badly in
the first half. That's why this game is even. The
Jets not only missed this Greg Zerline field goal attempt
right now, they settled for a short field goal earlier
in this period and settled for a field goal on
the first drive of the game. Aaron Rodgers does have
(30:28):
two touchdown passes. You mentioned the hail Mary final play
of the first half. It was a fifty two yard
completion for a score to Alan Lazard. It actually went
over sixty yards in the air, which makes it the
longest completion air yards by a Jets quarterback since they've
had the next gen stats in the past decade. Game
is tied as we approached the end of the third quarter. Meanwhile,
(30:50):
at windy Yankee Stadium, it's New York in the ninth
leading five to two over the Cleveland Guardians. Two outs
in the ninth.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Luke Weaver on the save.
Speaker 7 (30:58):
He's been spectacular since he became the Yankee closer. Carlos
Rodan was spectacular as the starter tonight. Regular season, he
was sixteen to nine for New York this evening, six innings,
one run aloud, nine strikeouts, no walks. Yankees on the
doorstep of a one game to none lead. This is
the opener of the American League Championship Series. Game two
is tomorrow night at Yankee Stadium. Not as windy then,
(31:21):
by the way. The Guardians will be hosting Thursday and Friday.
The New York Mets are tied with the Dodgers at
a game apiece in the NL Championship Series after the
Mets win at Los Angeles today seven to three. The
Mets led six to nothing in the second inning after
a grand slam by Mark Fientos off Land and Neck
the win to Sean Mania five plus innings of works,
seven strikeouts, four walks, the save to Edwin Diaz, who
(31:44):
had three strikes in an inning, and a third of
works Darling Marte with three hits. The Dodgers, in an
all bullpen game this afternoon, use five pitchers. The opener
Ryan Brazier took the loss, so the series is even
at one. Games three, four, and five are in New
York on FS one on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
And yes, the Dodgers had pitched thirty three straight scoreless
(32:05):
innings that tied the MLB postseason record. Francisco Lindor let
off today's game with a homer. He was intentionally walked
with two outs top of the second. The following batter
hit it out for the slam. Speaking of records, did
you see the relief work early in this Guardian's Yankees
game by one Joey Cantillo When the starter Alex Cobb
came out in the third inning, He was not a
(32:28):
fireman out of the bullpen. Arsonist is more like it.
Four wild pitches, the most in a playoff appearance by
anyone since two thousand, since rick an Keel's playoff.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Okay, and that was the end of him as a pitcher. Essentially,
it was reinvent yourself. So even more.
Speaker 7 (32:46):
Stunning about this. And by the way, the Yankees have
gotten the final out five to the final over Cleveland.
This Guardian's reliever tonight. His outing was less than an inning.
So he became the only MLB pitcher in the modern
era to in his short outing and this is playoffs
or regular season, to have at least four wild pitches
and three walks before he came out of the game.
(33:06):
Yankees have one game to none.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Was that like from bull Dorm when they were going
over Nuke's line from his first game seventeen strikeouts, league record,
fourteen walks, league record six hit my pitches new league record.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
If there had been a bull standing behind the way,
Joey Cantilla would.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Have hit it.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Thank you, Steve Bigger Target The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Carmon Live in the Tireck dot
Com Studios, twenty twenty Jets and the Bills going to
the fourth quarter of more on this game, but coming
up next. Somebody today that had a huge pressure performance
that said he took something personally that the other team
did to him in the game and was able to succeed.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
What was it?
Speaker 1 (33:51):
I'll tell you next without the Jordan Ipet, Jason and
Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon. So the Yankees close out the Guardians
in Game one. Meanwhile, Jets and the Bills twenty to twenty.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Early in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
We will have more on this game, yeah, coming up
in about ten or twelve minutes, because there are there
are a lot of upset people with the officiating of
this game and also people commenting on this game.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Yeah, so we will definitely have that for you and
later on.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
I've got a huge question related to the Yankees game.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Okay, huge, Mike.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
It's a pop culture. My dad still hates stand mine mild.
He's still hasty. Doesn't matter, he still.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
Doesn't come on. He made it a slam with that
home run. He's not.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
My dad still hates Stan, doesn't matter. We had a
conversation in the car driving driving here listen to the
Yankee game, and I told you how much he hates Stanton.
Stan comes up in the first inning and he fly
hits a fly ball to the warning track, right, so
he just misses a home and he hits one later.
But after the fly ball to the warning track. I go,
oh wow, that was close. He goes, Ah Stanton, I go,
(35:07):
dadd he's actually he's playing pretty well. He goes, He's
probably got his last hit of the postseason. I'm like, okay,
just like it's so funny.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
You can have his address.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Judge could go, I'm gonna shawshank him, Aaron, send him
a Stanton guard every day.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Aaron Judge could go zero for four with four strikeouts.
I go, Dad, Judge. He would go, yeah, yeah, a
couple of great swings, hit a foul ball. I mean
you just missed it, like he just missed a couple
Oh okay, okay, but Stanton no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
that's that's.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
That's like that. Well, you know, yeah, we all have
our favorites.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
But it's always fun when you see people take things
personally when it comes to sports and how that spurs
them on. This was the case today Game two of
the NLCS. Mets are winning two nothing, second and third,
second inning, Francisco Lindor was up and the Dodgers decide
to walk him. Lindor, who already homewred leading.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Off the game. I was a great at bat.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
It's i mean, nine pitch first at bat and the
gamesmanship and obviously followed one off that he was smarting from.
But to take the full time, yeah, all the time,
You're gonna wait, You're gonna wait. I've already clocked him.
And now I'm rewinding in my head because what was
that the ninth pitch or ten pitch bat? So it
was the all right, I'm gonna go rewind while I
(36:27):
recover for these fifteen cent.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
I'm watching him limp, going is he really hurt?
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Or is it like?
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Is he really hurt? Is it something like that?
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Okay, okay, then that was great games. Then all of
a sudden, he started walking back into the box. I'm like,
oh no, he's okay.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
I know its exactly what he's doing. Oh my god,
he's the greatest player we've ever had. He was waiting
for the signal to reach his belt. He's the best
player that met him forty years. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Uh So they walk him to load the bases and
then Mark Viento's comes up and then he does this.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Oh, come on, Frostbrook, I said it was buying you a.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Poil, Loco, man, I gotta be able to hear the
Vento's Grand slam. Morton's coming the crew partially after that loss.
I mean he's smarting from I.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
Want the lobster bisk. I want that. I would like
some lobster bisks. Let's go. Mark Vento's comes up and
does this. That's right, he flushed it. At least you
didn't play them with tumble exactly how it sounded. I
heard it. So Vento's HiT's a grand slam, and it
(37:38):
sounded like.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
This swung on a drive in the air pretty well,
hit right center Pie has back at that track.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Near the wall.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
That is god a grand slam for Mark Ventos. On
a three to two pitch, he clears the bass, hitting
it end of the pavilion and right center field. Mark
vent Dos with the mets second grand slam of the postseason,
his third post season home red has given the Mets
(38:06):
a six to nothing.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
Ladeez, can that guy's call be any longer? How he rose,
how he likes to talk about second house, how he
likes to talk.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Seven minutes after, right after that home run happened, three
girls that were sitting in front and two a couple
of rows in front of me got up to leave.
It's the second end. They got up to leave, and
we're like, oh my, govery oh they're leaving. And then
they leave, and then one of the Mets fans who's
sitting like through us behind me goes, by the sixth inning,
we're gonna be the only ones left who could own
this stadium in sixth.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
Inning, right, and at our house, now plant a flag.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Look after the game, Viento said, look, I use that
as motivation because I took it personally that they were
walking Francisco Lindor to get to me.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
And now, look, let's be honest. I love that.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Whatever you need to motivate, you go ahead and use it.
But let's be honest. Do you really think was second
and third and first base empty? Oh that was a
bad decision. No one's going to pitch to Francisco Lindor.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Nobody is.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
You could have Shoeyo with a fully stocked right arm
and a fully stocked left arm, and they're not pitching
a Lindor in that situay, they're gonna put him on
first base.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Of course they're gonna do that.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
They're gonna put it on to put the force on
with two outs, and they're gonna pitch to a guy
who's not a guy who's gonna win. The second play
been finished second unanimously for the MVP. As hot as
Mark Viento's has been in the playoffs, of course they
were gonna do that. Yeah, he's been fantastic, no question
about it. But it gets him mimable because the home
runs huge, But this takes it to a whole other level,
(39:31):
right because now we add the Jordan memes and whatever else,
So it gets a second life because the home run
itself is great, but the way that game ended up getting,
let's face it, it tightened up a little bit in
the ninth inning once your ideas put those first two
runners on, and then he made pitch after pitch after
pitch to finish it out. But anxious moments.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
We're gonna talk more about that and Dave Roberts' pitching
decisions than Viento's home home run.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
So this is his way to further going.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
Hey, Grand Slam over here, don't worry about the what
the pitching matchup was, or anything else.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
I took it personally, so good for him. Good for
him now. I wouldn't have put the fours up. I
would have drilled him.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
But that's just me exit out about a fresco exit
swollen down on the Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Tryouts for Jets Kicker coming
