out for you every single night, even on a night
where we start the show. Mike Harmon and I'm not
I'm not. I'm not concerned obviously because we're early in
(01:10):
the first quarter. But I'm just thinking if the Knicks
lose to the Mavericks tonight, like all the all of
the good vibes off the good start are like, okay,
now suddenly everything is everything is in chaos. You know,
Brunt's in his back and we lose to this bach
Like I always think of the most disaster scenario there is,
and I'm thinking about that right now. No, I think
it really always comes back to as Martin gave us
(01:31):
in the update. You know, Steve Kurt telling us how
long the season is, so he's gonna hold everybody hostage
by sitting down Draymond Green and Steph Curry. You want
to see these guys again. You're gonna shorten the damn season.
So he's saying it's too long. So it's one of
eighty two. They need the Mavericks to win a game
or two, so Cooper flag becomes relevant. You know, all
of those things to play in. Your guys are all
(01:54):
playing Herd, It's the Cat Show and all of that
fun stuff. So yeah, I mean I would would worry
about it too much. I mean, you know, if it
was actually on your birthday, Happy belated birthday, hopefully you
celebrated brilliantly. We tried to send people your way to
send you birthday wishes or cakes. Hopefully some of that worked.
But all of that to say we're we're what game fifteen?
(02:18):
I think you'll be okay, all right, Just you know,
I just one of those things where I'm like, you know,
I like them. I like the forward positivity and the
forward movement, and I want to just keep a little
bit going here. That's that's all I'm saying. I just
you know, no, I understand being the fan of my teams.
You know, I'm a disaster first scenario guy. I mean,
the disaster is here. Well I don't know what it is,
but disaster is coming. No ride, the lightning is always
(02:40):
playing in your head. There's always a bit of that
you know, Highway to the danger Zone and all of
that stuff going on because you're expecting the sky to fall. Now,
the fact that you guys can't win on the road,
I mean this is nothing new. Yeah, no, no, no, the
opponent sucks, but you know it's nothing new. I mean,
you have not won a game away from the Garden. No. No,
(03:05):
if we and if we lose tonight to the to
the Mavericks without Cooper flag because he's sick, like wow,
man like that's I don't know, man, that's yeah, I
don't know. I should keep saying this. I'm just putting
it out there. It's not saying no, I get that.
I mean he's ill. You know, you have I mean
it's November illness. Uh, load management. I mean, you call
(03:26):
it what you will. I mean he's already halfway through
what would be a collegiate season, uh at this point.
So you know, you gotta monitor those things, monitor those
things as you go. Now, for the Knicks, I have
to ask, is there the innovation whereby they might be
able to come out with goggles that allow them to
feel like they're playing at MSG, so like they're playing
in a virtual reality. They see everything normally except in
(03:49):
the crowd, and everything makes them feel like they're at home. Yeah,
you're kind of like in Free Guy, Every Guy Was Real? Okay, Yeah,
alright with you there. Okay, that kind of scenario whereby,
you know, there's the overlay and what you're seeing, Yeah,
and you hear the crowd cheering for you. You put
a little earbuds in and you still get the whistles
from the officials and the trash talking of your opponent
(04:10):
are all you know, thusly the same, but the aesthetics
allow you to feel like you're playing at home, thereby
allowing you to win, because you know, on the roads,
you don't. Okay, I know if we could do something
like that and they're all wearing the glasses, pretty soon
everybody would be wearing glasses like that, I feel like
I'm at home. This is fantastic. Well, you know, we're
always looking for more marketing and sales opportunities. Certainly the
(04:34):
NBA would would capitalize on it. Adam Silver would have
a special version of the glasses that would upload a
highlight package from all the games every day. Sure, sure,
here's three minutes. Here's the best three minutes for you.
Just hear these glasses. I don't I think you could
really push some sort of legislation that says, hey, the
Knicks get to play every game at MSG. I mean,
(04:56):
because because that's something where even the opponents would say, oh,
a nextra trip to New York play at the world's
most famous arena. Yeah, I'm okay, I'll give up one
home game for that, and Necks play eighty two at home,
and then then I'm feeling pretty good. Yeah, I mean,
on the plus side, thus far, I mean eight and
one at home usually get the best effort out of teams.
And this is where you gotta be careful because you've
been living great thus far at home. Don't invite trouble, right,
(05:21):
because how many guys have talked about how much they
love playing at the garden. Yeah, you see those big efforts,
You're like, God, damn it, why do they have to
love it be here so much? So eventually, you know,
the pendulum may swing back the other way. So you
be careful what you wish for him, bunny. Now, we'll
keep you updated on a big rest of the night
in the NBA. Still four games going on now. Meanwhile, Hey,
(05:44):
we talked about putting things in the air right a
couple seconds ago, and something we put in the air
before the season now officially is three fifths of the
way to completion. If you want a burger, you want
a big burger. What's one of the most popular places
in the country. Five guys, what did I say The
Cleveland Browns are gonna start a quarterback this year? Mike Harmon?
(06:05):
Five guys, five, one, two, three, four, five and now
officially to say at least at least five five baby, more,
maybe more, but we want, you know, five, But if
there was a burger chain called six guys, I would
have gone with that if we had six minute abps,
Like if I had gone six guys, Okay, that's fine,
but five guys. Five sounded good. Five guys. I could
get to five. And I think we're gonna squeak out
(06:26):
getting to five, right. I'm not. I'm not saying, oh,
we're gonna get there were time to spare. We're gonna
squeak out getting to five.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Because now here we are Week twelve and officially the
third starting quarterback of the season for the Cleveland Browns.
Dylan Gabriel ruled out because of a concussion. Hopefully he
is better soon. Shador Sanders will officially start for the
Browns and has no softer in opening you can think
of than to play the Raiders. And that's what we get.
Suddenly Cleveland is must see TV on Sunday because that's
(06:56):
their first game. So we are now three fifths of
the way to my Big Bowl prediction. And we almost
had the order right because we said Flacco, Gabriel, Sanders.
Now the next one's gonna be tough because in the beginning,
we thought it was gonna be Pickett, but Pickett got traded.
Then it was Bailey Zappi, whereas Bailly Zappy gonna fit,
and then week seventeen it's gonna be one of those
everybody's banged up. We don't want to win a game
(07:17):
in ruin our draft spot. So here's the guy that's
barely been on the roster for a week and a half.
He signed on, you know, the day before Christmas, and
he's starting week seventeen. So I think we're gonna we're
gonna squeak it out. But telling you, man, three fifths
of the way to five guys, we are there, Mike Harmon,
we're there. It is funny, right last night Richio was
in in for you. We were talking about just the
(07:38):
quarterback position, and you know, we got we got into
fraudulent squads, who do you not believe in? In the
playoff picture and all of that fun ton of college
football stuff. But we you know, just kind of threw
out the ah. We're already into the fifties in terms
of guys that have played and started. All right, We're
at forty six now starters. With the new arrivals of
(08:00):
some of these guys this week when we talk about
Captain Kirk and whatever over fifty have played. But to
your point, yeah, Shredoor Sanders gets the the prime opportunity
here the Las Vegas Raiders. Raiders still a four point
favorite over under in this one. You want to take
a guess, oh, eight eight and a half, eight and
a half, thirty and a half, thirty thirty six and
(08:21):
a half and trending down. People are looking for a
five to four final is scored and a half now
and a half that is three points worse lower, however
you want to term it than the next game on
the board. Ready for this and I'm shocked. This is
at thirty nine and a half. Sure, and I think,
(08:44):
my carman, it's going Alex Tischer, what happened to my carbon?
Speaker 4 (08:47):
He was reading odds outside of what happened?
Speaker 1 (08:49):
What happened odds? He was seeing thirty nine and a half,
and then he got cut out, like you know, some
sort of really mad Better was mad at him for something.
Nobody wanted me to talk about Atlanta, New Orleans. Oh
we don't talk about Atlanta. Oh that's you were about
to bring up, and they said, no, cut it he's
gonna talk about it's a non Michael Pennox junior game.
Cut him out, get rid of Yeah, don't talk about
cousins and shuck. No, it's what we'll be curious. I mean,
(09:11):
can Shoudur Sanders avoid Max Crosby? Right? That is the
one line to all of this. Will he call out
the proper protections? Will the offensive line submit to whatever
protections he is being offered? Right today we got some
Kevin Stefanski that kind of flew in the face of
all of the folks attacking him. Still some awkward looks
(09:32):
on the sideline and everything else that you know, the
body language experts can go through. But Stefanski talking about
how he's worked with Shador after practices and in the
film room and whatever else. And look he came out
and the one thing you can say for him, and
this is where he ends up in the fantasy Ninja
sleeper world. You know, the dollar play for your daily
(09:54):
fantasy is that he and Tillman and and Jerry Judy
He's gonna wing the ball downfield right when he gets
the plant pass off because he's gonna absorb some sacks.
He's gonna keep trying to extend plays. Hasn't had that
Aha moment yet with limited snaps of hey that Max
Crosby gets pretty damn fast. Live to see another down. Uh,
(10:15):
he'll take some sacks and some negative plays. But one
thing we saw was he will push the ball downfield.
What did Dylan Gabriel not do? He did not push
the ball downfield? Receivers are all tight ends and running backs.
He did not. Now look, now here's ak nuglet. Do
we have fun here? Obviously with the five guys thing?
But this is the big silver lining for Sanders starting
(10:35):
for Cleveland right now? Again, three fifths the way to
five guys starting, and we have the order right so far? Like,
could we still have a bunch of weeks? I mean
it's only week twelve. Bo I know we got plenty
of time, man, But like, could we have bet that? Hey,
I want to bet that they start five guys at
start and here's the order? Like, could we have gotten
I'm gonna bet. I'm gonna bet if you had gone
into a casino with a mini satchel of cash and
(10:56):
said I'd like you to create odds for this prop bet,
they would have been more than happy to take your money.
All right, okay, all right, Well we could have done
and now they'd be calling me for a buyout. Hey dude,
you really had this man. We're looking we're looking to
pay out on this. Well, probably the only question is
right now. The only question though, is is would the
Kenny Pickett thing have voided the ticket when he got
(11:17):
traded away? Well, then I would have been able to
replace Kenny Pickett on the ticket, Replace picket on the ticket,
pick it on the ticket in a thing, and it's
a brisket and a and a and a and a
that said I'm done. I'm done with see now I
want brisket jerky. But here's the list. This is the
this is the silver lining is that this year you
(11:38):
needed to see Shador Sanders play. Whether you were on
board with the drafting of Shador Sanders, which clearly members
of the UH Cleveland Browns coaching staff was not, versus
the front office drafting UH Sanders in the fifth round.
Maybe it was a Jimmy fully of Jimmy Haslam thing.
You can tell there is a split decision on whether
(11:58):
they even want him on the rock when you drafted him.
All that went out the window because he needs to
play because his name is Shador Sanders and everybody thought
he was gonna be a top three, top five pick.
You need to see him play. The Browns didn't want
to play him, right, Kevin Stefanski does not want to
play him. He would rarely talk about him during the season.
It was what you know, Stefanski's not on board, but
(12:20):
you knew at some point you had to see him.
So now you're gonna get it. And it's not like
you had to make a big decision to bench Dylan
Gabriel or to bench Joe Flacco. You're getting to play
because this is how it works in football. Unfortunately, players
get hurt and it's a next man up mentality. So
you're getting to see Shador Sanders. When who else are
you gonna see at this point? Right like who else
(12:41):
You're gonna say, Well, we gotta go get Brian's site back,
you know, to go play here. It's logical. He's been
with the team all year, he's been with the offense,
he's been in there since he got drafted. He's the
next guy up. You're thrusting a fifth round pick in
so okay, but now you get to play him. Everybody
is happy and whether you were, whether you tom or not,
everybody's happy with the circumstances surrounding this in the fact,
(13:04):
not because you're a placing guy who's injured, but because
obviously again all best thoughts Dylan Gabriel getting better, but
because this is how it goes in the NFL. Players
have to be ready to go, and this is how
it is. It's like replacing a linebacker or a safety
or a cornerback, like these are the circumstances. It's not
drama off the field. It's not something that's gonna result
in this half of the team is here, this half
(13:25):
of the team is quitting. So this is how it goes.
So you get to see him. He will probably get
a couple game audition, I'm assuming unless he falls on
his face, because with a concussion you want to be
safe with With Dylan Gabriel, there's no reason to really
rush him back because you have a lot of games
left in this season. You're not going anywhere, so I
would assume you're gonna get a couple of games for
Shador Sanders and either one of two things is gonna happen.
(13:47):
He's gonna look really good and they're gonna keep giving
him run and everybody's happy in Cleveland and suddenly they
feel like they have their quarterback or he's not gonna
be any good and there won't be a big rush
to see him play anymore. And the Browns gonna play
out this season with Gabriel or whoever and get in
the quarterback market next year. So the one thing about
this situation is that they're gonna get a look at
your door Sanders. That nobody can really say is incredibly controversial.
(14:11):
You're safe for your quarterback sitting out for another week
because of injury, and you're getting to play the next
guy up, and there's no shenanigans with bypassing him on
the depth chart or anything like that. So that's the
that's the one silver lining in all of this, and
the look how they're gonna get the look at your
door Sanders. Yeah, I mean we got six games remaining
at this point. You already seen what Dylan Gabriel is.
(14:32):
He's not gonna turn the ball over. He's not gonna
take risks, nor is he gonna make big plays. Right,
I think every time he throws the football more than
ten yards it's a risk. Maybe, but that's the point
is he doesn't do it right. I mean, that was
my main criticism of Caleb Williams a year ago. Look
at the interceptionalist streak. He's like, yeah, look at his
(14:53):
shot chart. I mean it's basically layups. This was Shock's
shot chart transcribed to a football field, only with less accuracy.
Actually no, it was about to say about sixty percent.
So yeah, it worked out pretty well. But all of
that's the same for Dylan Gabriel. We watched it, Harold
Fan and Nidjoku and the running backs out of the backfield.
(15:14):
That's it. Like Jerry Judy's been on the side of
a milk cart and Tillman until last week, right, he
had four he comes back from injury, he has four
targets the week before all short, hey, go make something
yack if you can get it. But there's no separation
because it's not scheme that way. And then last week
against Baltimore, three catches fifty two yards on four targets.
(15:36):
We're like, okay, they're downfield again. It's gonna be scattershot.
And he missed some throws thrust in as he was,
and certainly some of the protection stuff really got battled about.
We talked about it Monday with all of the former
backup quarterbacks and long standing guys standing up, going dude,
this is the life man. And you know, they were
(15:59):
like singing straight out of thirty sixty ninety and you know,
all of that stuff. With Andrew Garfield's like, this is
the life, Bobo bo bo bo, going all Broadway on you,
because you just have to deal with it. Right, nothing's
going to be perfect as a backup thrust into a game.
But he showed a willingness to throw the ball in
the field. It's like, if I'm the Browns at this point,
(16:19):
I say, okay, it's your turn. Let's go. We've seen
what Dylan Gabriel is. Now, if you start winning games,
perhaps you break neck reverse the reversal fortunes here down
the stretch, but you at least have to get proof
of concept and then maybe the biggest stands and the
biggest detractors, you know, the ten percent on either side,
shut the hell up, exit out about a Fresca exit
(16:42):
swollen down the Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. So there it is, five guys, Shador Sanders.
We're getting there. The silver lining all of it. See,
things could be looking up. But coming up next, we
got two big quarterback stories. One late breaking story. Apparently
one Super Bowl contender hates their quarterback. Oh I mean
literally they hate their quarterback. That's next right here, Jason
(17:05):
and Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get to.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Yeah, you blobber list lame in me.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships, and if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you
check out over Promise and also Uncensored by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
(18:05):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with
Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or
wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Fox Sports Radio, the Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. For over forty years, tire Rack's been

Tire rack dot Com is the way tire buying should be.
(18:41):
So two big fat stories in the NFL surrounding two
of our favorite quarterbacks to talk about, and the first
one is Jalen Hurts, right, I mean this is it's
such a great story it's not surprising in the least,
but wow, is this something according to all right, now,
we've kind of heard some whispers about this over the
(19:05):
course of the past few weeks, but according to a
report by The Athletic, some players on the Eagles have
grown frustrated by Jalen Hurtz's approach this season. They feel
like he generally plays his game instead of what's doing,
what's discussed during the week and transitioning it to game day.
So in other words, hey, they spend all week working
on a game plan, they get to the game and
(19:26):
Jalen hurts the sides. Yeah, yeah, no, no, I'm just gonna
do my thing. Some of it is not throwing the
ball in tight windows, holding onto the football a little
bit too much, and oh, look, you look at the
offense this year and you could say, yeah, it's been
a disappointment. Now you can point to the fact that
maybe Saquon Barkley was able to cover up a lot
of those ills last year when he ran for two
thousand yards, and we're seeing it now because Taquon Barkley's
(19:47):
not gonna run for two thousand yards this year. So
this is this is not surprising, right, again, this is
a non surprising headline. And when I see this, for
most teams, this would just make them turtle. This would
they would fall off a cliff and all of a sudden,
look at the worst thing in the world and the
back page of the newspapers and you know when people
read newspapers, and now it's the back page of the
(20:08):
online version of the newspaper. It would just be an
absolute mess and get me to the end of the season.
But no, what do we say, this is not even
a blip in Philadelphia? Oh, they don't like the quarterback.
You think Jalen Hurts is really concerned about that. You
think this is something brand new that all of a
sudden they love Jalen Hurts and then now he's playing
his game and now I don't like him. Yeah, I
think Jalen Hurts is gonna be just fine. I think
(20:31):
the Eagles are gonna be just fine. And it's stuff
like this. They're gonna beat the Cowboys by thirty this
week because of this, because they swim in con two
teams that swim in controversy. This week, boy, you're gonna
see one going you boy, this one. This team's a
much better swimmer than this team. Cowboys swim great. In controversy,
this contravery the Eagles. They're doing backstropes. They're like Michael
Phelps in the pool right here, and this is the
(20:53):
Eagles are gonna say, yeah, we are good. You can
you can heat the pool up, you can make a
really cold whatever you want. Man. They're gonna beat the
Cowboys by thirty this week because Jalen Hurts is gonna
be pissed. He's gonna throw for three hundred yards and
three touchdowns. AJ Brown will catch a touchdown pass, they'll hug,
They'll probably throw a touchdown pass on a play where
the offensive line the other players refuse to block for them. Well,
you're gonna do your own thing. We're not gonna block
for you. It doesn't matter. Still gonna throw a touchdown.
(21:14):
And here is to AJ Brown, who catches his first
touchdown pass since he's with the Titans, like, hey, this
isn't We're gonna they are going to just absolutely feast
that they beat the Cowboys by thirty this week. Watch out.
It is kind of funny some of the messaging that
has flown flown through about the Eagles this year, usually
(21:36):
coming from one or two national reporters who really have
beaten the drum and tried to make this their their living.
I'm not gonna bother to name them quote. I'm not
surprised by anything. This is the nature of the position.
But I put my energy and focus on trying to
go out there and do my best, trying to learn,
trying to build, trying to take in the things that
I can to try and improve. Now from the clicheo
(21:58):
meter or say a lot without saying anything, congratulations, Jalen Hurts,
you have now made it an art form. Philadelphia three
and a half point favorites on the road forty seven
and a half is your total twenty fifth in total
yard twenty eighth and passing yards one hundred and eighty
five per game, third down conversion rate thirty three percent.
(22:19):
But they take care of the business in the red
zone and they've only given the ball away four times
this year. Some of that owing to like we talked
about with Shador Sanders a little bit clearly more accomplished
in all the great accolades and history that Jalen Hurts has,
he doesn't put the ball in harm's way. He's not
thrown into tight windows. He's not pushing the ball in
(22:40):
that regard between the numbers necessarily the same way. So
if you're a top receiver like AJ Brown or DeVante Smith,
probably a little less. So yeah, I gotta understand the frustration,
but it's winning football at this point. I don't know
what what you expect. You know, we talked about it
(23:01):
a little on Monday, Jason coming out of the weekend
was the idea that you're also looking at a guy
who every year it's a new guy and a new
philosophy and a new system being put into place. Moderate tweaks,
but quarterback, coach and coordinator have changed out pretty much
(23:21):
every year going back to his collegiate days at this point.
So a lot of that is all right, what are
the small permutations that go through your offensive line? Clearly
hasn't stayed the same or worked with the same efficiency
this year, so you know, it all is a domino effect.
Still completing two thirds of his throws, sixteen touchdowns to
(23:42):
one interception, I don't know what else you want, right,
People live and die by the QB rating. What was
he fifth sixth? So I don't know what people anticipate
and expect from the guy at this point. Let's take
a listen. Right, Let's take a listen. Here's Jalen Hurts
now respond from today, responding to the reports that, Yeah,
(24:03):
his teammates are upset with him, they don't like him
because he goes away from the game plan and does
his own thing on game day. Here's Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 6 (24:10):
I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised by anything. I mean,
you know, this is kind of the nature of the position,
like I said, But you know, I put my energy
and I put my focus on try and go out
there and do my best, and go to work every
day and continue to go out there and try and
do my best.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
I get Now. Now, here's the thing. Number One. Does
Jalen Hurts sound like he gives a flying blank about
what anybody has said about him? Really? Does he sound
like he really cares about He's one of those guys.
I don't know that he's ever cared about that. He
has been very from the beginning in Alabama and then
and then moving on and moving on to the NFL,
(24:47):
he has always been very brand conscious and very and
very much I am in charge and I have a
great uh focus for what I want my career to
be and as a quarterback, you know that winning and
playing well, that's part of it. They win, and he
has always had that singular focus of this is me,
this is my brand, this is what I can do.
(25:08):
He doesn't sound like he gives a crap about anything
anybody said. Moreover, did he really did he ever deny it?
Did he say? I don't know who's saying that. That's
not from this locker room, cause that you get from
most quarterbacks. I don't know who said that. No one
said that here. That's not here. That's not my teammates.
I love my teammates. This is a Yeah, I'm not surprised,
Like I'm not surprised, to god out, I'm not surprised. Yeah,
I do my own thing on Sunday. But look, we win,
(25:29):
so what doesn't really matter. Like they're they're so dysfunctional
and they win and it's amazing. They're really they're like
the Cowboys of the nineties are the Lakers of the
early two thousands with Kobe and Shaq. That just all
they do. They somehow are able to win despite the
fact there's controversy that surrounds them at every turn and
they embrace it and they invite it and it envelops
(25:51):
them and still they're able to win. And that's really
something to watch. Hey, you want to get back to
see what life was like in the nineties with the
Cowboys and the Bulls and those teams and the Lakers
early two thousands. Yeah, this is what it was like,
except think about it with in Los Angeles and New York.
I mean, even the Dynasty's bigger than the Eagles because
these are teams that won three, you know, championships apiece. Right,
this is a this is a really big thing. This
(26:12):
is what it was like in the nineties with these teams.
But I just love that he doesn't seem like he
cares and not he didn't seem like he needed to
deny it. Yeah, I'm not surprised. Yeah, I'm not surprised.
I was waiting for to say who said was it?
Who said it was? And then he starts naming off guys, right,
exat was it who said it was? A Saqua? Was
it was a game? Well? Was a Gamewell? Who was? Yeah?
Because you know the protections, I don't know who else?
(26:32):
What did Aja say anything? Not that you know, it
doesn't matter like. That's that's the that's the level of
id G a F that Jalen Hurts has about this story. Yeah,
still gonna go out and play. Still gonna hang a
big l on you guys in Dallas this week, and
I'll have a big week. And it's fine. That's that's
what Eagles football. What I love about it, right is
is you also just have that he half expect him
(26:55):
to say, all right, which reporter, uh put that out there,
and then he starts guessing the player based on the
reporter that he talks to. Right, the old Ben Roethlisberger
ed Bouschetts for Pittsburgh all those years. But I mean,
you look at Jalen Hurts as a starter, right as
a rookie nine and eight, fourteen and three, eleven and six,
fourteen and three, eight and two to this point, takes
(27:18):
care of the football, winning football time and time again.
They say winning cures all ill, But no, I mean
people still want their stats. They because it all is
about contracts right in the end. You know, we laugh
about Scott Borris and his binders of stats and advanced metrics.
How do I stack up against the rest of the
(27:38):
guys at not only disposition. But all infielders, all outfielders, historically,
all of those things that roll through there's not a
lot of highlight. You know, when you're a pass catcher,
the first thing is not Yeah, he blocked really well
for Saquon there, that's part of the equation. That's part
of the equation. But were you able to get open
to where you've got fed downfield? His downfield blocking is
(28:01):
really amazing. Let's give him an extra ten million dollars
a year like downfield Brighton is great, like that might
be a you know, worth a few bucks. That's gonna
certainly push the kne lip bit, certainly for folks that
really love football. Right. That was Brandon Marshall, that was
heinz Ward. You can go on down the line. There's
some of the guys in Chicago right now that's oftentimes
what they're being asked to do. Like Luthor Burton, he's
(28:22):
a rookie not catching a lot of balls, but guess
what you go back and see what he's doing on
the blocking. That's great and ain't a bunch of extra money.
They're smart man. Chicago has been force feeding me what
a good blocker Luther Burton. It's a wide receiver's number
one job as a catch passes doesn't matter. He blocks
like that's it, man, You know what I mean? Know
how good he blocked? You would think he's like that.
You would think he's the Anthony Munos of blocking wide receivers.
(28:46):
Dub what a great blocker he is, man like they
would line up running backs on a sweep and just
follow Luther Burton down the field. But think about it, though,
Jason right, like, go to the tight end position for
a second. Think about the last couple of years and
some of the best guys in the game, the fights
that they've gotten into over people. Got aye, he really
doesn't block my ass. I don't block like like might
(29:07):
have eighty catches, Like, not at all. There's a pride
factor to the other thing. But is that what's ultimately
getting him the giant contract? No? What's he doing in
the red zone? Can he get open kenn? He creates
space all of that. So yeah, aj Brown is going
to be He's going to bristle as much as he
can try to downplay it, and I'm sure other guys
in the locker room are raising their heads. Sakuon Barkley's
(29:29):
gotta be pissed because you don't have that same element
in the downfield passing game, which means he gets bottled
up more. Not that we didn't expect to regress, and
we talk about the offensive line and whatever else, but
it all, you know, plays into one thing to the next,
and everybody's suffering from a statistical standpoint. Except they're still
eight and two and big Doms sitting ringside for WWE Raw,
(29:53):
all is good. I'll tell you many what I think
they win by more this week because of this, they
win by more like a great can't they just three
and a half? Easy? When you say can't they just
have a quiet week? It's not the teams fans they're
talking about. It's the opponents fans. Can't they not? Now
they're gonna be all fired up to come play because
the other part to it, Jason is fun is that
(30:15):
you get Dallas a lot of great press coming off
of this week. Look at all the great moves that
Jerry made and for one week, Look, you can only
play who's on the schedule, and it just so happens
to be the Raiders, So you got to terrorize old Geno.
Smith decided step up in class this time around. So
big home date to come. Time to find out what's
trending in the wide world of sports from Martin Wise
(30:37):
And what do you got for us tonight, my friend.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
The New York Knicks catching a break no Cooper flag
tonight for the Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
Yeah, and we're losing by five. Yeah, we really have
taken advantage of that so far.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
Well, it just might be a good time to try
to notch that first road win for the Knicks, as
you're right down by five, forty to thirty five too,
that Dallas Mavericks. Four minutes and twenty eight seconds left
in the first half. Karl Anthony Towns has one for six,
zero for three from three.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
That's a quick math, three points. You did make a
free throw, Jalen.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
That's good math.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
That's that mission.
Speaker 7 (31:12):
They call that the Michigan difference where I come from,
but University of Michigan.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
But yeah, forty one to three held up the sign.
Forty one to thirty five.
Speaker 7 (31:25):
The score the Mavericks and the Knicks just under five
minutes left in the first half. There eleven minutes left
in the first half between the Blazers and the Bulls,
Portland leading twenty nine to twenty eight, and the NFL
Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Bills are planning
on benching Keyon Coleman again Thursday night against the Texans.
(31:45):
Eight players, including quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver and
Mecca and Buka, were limited at walk through practice on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
For the Tampa Buccaneers, it was only a walk.
Speaker 7 (31:54):
Through because they had so many players who were sick
they weren't able to actually practice. Eagle center Jergens miss
Wednesday's practice due to the concussion protocol. He's dealing with
that after he left Monday night's game, and the Saints
released wide receiver Brandon Cooks after the veteran asked.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
For his release.
Speaker 7 (32:11):
Earlier in the NBA, Houston improved to ten and three,
beating Cleveland one fourteen to one oh four alprin Singoon
with a three assist sigh of a triple double.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
At twenty eight points and eleven rebounds.
Speaker 7 (32:20):
Warriors fall to the Heat one ten to ninety six
Golden State, resting Draymond Green and Steph Curry. Just Steve
Kerr pleading with the NBA earlier this week to please
shorten the season. Guess, he says that's why the Nuggets
beat the Pelicans won twenty five to one eighteen Nicol
Jokis with a triple double twenty eight points, eleven rebounds,
twelve assists, Ziona Williamson at fourteen points, Derek Queen thirty
(32:42):
and nine. The Pelicans have two wins on the year,
and in that Derek Queen Trey traded their first round
pick to Atlanta. The Thunder improved to fifteen and one
and meaning undefeated at home as they beat the Kings
one thirteen to ninety nine. Ranking MVP Shay Gilders Alexander
with thirty three points. The Timberwols beat the Wizards one
twenty to one. Nine Raptors over seventy six ers one
(33:02):
twenty one, two, one twelve and men's college basketball forth
Drenth Arizona beat third rank Yukon with the seventy one
to sixty seven Jayden Bradley with twenty one points. Montages
Crevious hit the go ahead basket with one twenty three left.
There's a lot of not scoring happened in last ninety
seconds of that game. Seventh Thrength Michigan remained undefeated eighty
(33:25):
six to sixty one win over Middle Tennessee State, and
right now on FS one you can see eleventh rank
Alabama with a six point lead over a thrank Illinois,
fifty four to forty eight, just under fourteen minutes left
in the game.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Back to you guys, Thanks.
Speaker 1 (33:40):

friend Mike Harmon. We got a big quarterback story coming
your way in a little bit less than fifteen minutes,
all of a sudden, one guy to really be nervous
for but as promised, biggest story of the day, Shadora Sanders.
(34:47):
We'll start a quarterback for the Browns day Sunday, making
his first career start Cleveland. This is a Cleveland Brown's
forty two quarterbacks game. It is very, very simple. Shador
Sanders is the forty second quarterback to start for Cleveland
(35:07):
nineteen ninety nine season forty two since they came back
to Cleveland, forty two quarterbacks, averaging over two starting quarterbacks
a year. This is a simple game. I'm gonna give
you a quarterback who has played in the NFL the
last twenty five years, and your job is to tell
(35:30):
me if he started one game at least for the Browns. Wow,
I'll like you a guy. You tell me if he
started a game for the Browns playing as myself. Mike Harmon, Yeah,
Martin Weiss, Alex Tyshert lead to lap in for Frostberg. Tonight,
are you guys ready? Oh, let's go.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
I've never been more ready for something in my life.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
All Right, all right, you said, Okay, here we go.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
You just got married.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
I know.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Wow. But apparently apparently what he's telling you is he
wasn't ready for that.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
If she had asked me name twenty one Cleveland brown
starting quarterbacks, we would add a Showok.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Okay, so here we go. Let's kick things off, shall
we Yeah, let's go. Did Charlie Batch ever start a
game for the Cleveland Browns? Long time backup? Did Charlie
Batch ever start a game for the Browns? Harmon? No? No,
okay Martin, No, okay, Lee? What do you got?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Steeler in and out all the way through? No?
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Not all theay, no, not all the way through it.
It was a lot like Detroit. All right, Alex Tyscher,
what do you got?
Speaker 4 (36:40):
You know, I'm a big Cleveland guy.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
You're a huge Cleveland huge. I thought you're gonna say,
who is Charlie Batch? O? You're a steer fan. Charlie
Batch did not start Cleveland Browns. Very good, Very good.
You guys are very good. There's one. Did Bailey's Appy
(37:04):
ever start a game for the Cleveland Browns? Bailey's Appy
back with the Browns? Now? Did Bailey's Appy ever start
before we was here? Before he started? Bailey's Bailey's Appy
ever start a game for the Browns? Wow? I'm trying
(37:26):
to think of the many years of travels. For Bailey's Appy,
sounds like you would have just been hanging around. This
is where you just linger and maybe you get a
start at the end of a year. Yeah, why not? Okay, Yes,
for Bailey's Appy. Okay, Martin Wise, I will go yes, okay,
all right, lead to lap I.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Think you're trying to trick us.
Speaker 8 (37:47):
I believe he's played for the Cleveland Browns but never
started for the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
All right, Alex ty shirt Bay.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
That's kind of deep.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
It is very deep.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
You gotta think deeply about these things.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yes, and now here's a new segment called deeply. Two
years ago the final game of the regular season. Oh
there we got be started for the Cleveland Browns. Very nice,
break glass. In case of emergency, I'm gonna throw you
guys a curveball for this one. Have tie En Koy
(38:23):
Detmer started games for the Cleveland Browns? Tie and Koy Detmer.
I know you think they both started Philadelphia? Did you
think one of them started? Neither of them? Tie and
Koy doing them together? Tie and Koy do? Wow. I'm
(38:47):
gonna say, uh, Tie not Koy Tie dot Coy. Okay,
all right, very good, Martin Weiss.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 7 (38:56):
I am became aware of the name koy Detmer about
forty five seconds ago because if.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
I I would have known if you had played for
the Browns.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Okay, all right, very good, Okay, So what are you
saying for ty Detmer? Yes he did, ty Detmer, Yes,
koy Detmer. No, okay, lead to lot.
Speaker 8 (39:12):
I was gonna say the satan thing, but uh, you
know me, I'm gonna go against the grain.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
I'm gonna go Coy started, Tied did not?
Speaker 1 (39:18):
No, you know what?
Speaker 4 (39:20):
Both of that, both of them, because because I do
think as I do think I did.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Yes, okay, Alex Tischer, Yes.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
That is a magic Johnson tweet.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Yes, Alex Ticher, who has no idea? Who either of
these no idea?
Speaker 4 (39:35):
You could sit them in front of me and told
me they played football, I'd say that's cool. Yes to both.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Yes, okay, Tie Debtmer started two games for the Cleveland Browns. Okay,
koy Detmer did not started? Right? No on coy Yes,
so they were both Eagles. Wow, yeah, no, I knew.
But but coy Detver is the I not to go
(40:04):
after the Deptver family. But he was the lesser dead.
You're the lesser than debtvers. All right, let's let's give
you one more. Did Jeff Driscoll ever start a game
for the Cleveland Browns? Oh, Jeff Driscoll harmony, Yes, he
was in he was in a fantasy right up? I
did once? So yeah, okay, all right, Martin.
Speaker 7 (40:27):
This is the first one I'm actually cold guessing on.
But I'm gonna guess no.
Speaker 8 (40:32):
Okay, Lee, I can't remember him as a Brown, but
I do want to go with Mike. Mike sounds like
he's confident. I'm gonna say no that. Okay, Hey, bet
you're ass he did.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
You don't even know Jeff and he played nineteen eighty five, Baby.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Jeff Driscoll started one game for the brown Yeah, it's
very good. I'm not in nineteen eighty. We're coming up next,
that big quarterback story we promised Fox
