(00:54):
now in the college football playoff, h Louisville at seven
and two, needs to pull this one out over Clemson.
Louisville has missed two field goals on their last two possessions,
including after taking over on Clemson's twenty three yard line
after a muffed punt snap. So now Clemson's gonna punt

(01:17):
the football back to Louisville with thirty nine seconds left
to go. Louisville's got to get a field goal they
want to stay alive in the College football playoff. Dabo
Sweeney could get back to five and five and Clemson's
looking to be bowl eligible. But man, you don't see
teams miss two field goals like that in a row too,
and the second one was a gimme. Clemson celebrating on

(01:38):
the field after the missed field goal, Dabbo was hugging everybody.
I'm like, am I watching Aaron Glenn? We dance dancing
on the sideline? Dude, you still have to get a
first down. You still have some time, and I'm like,
the game's not over. There's not three seconds left. You're
gonna kneel on the football once? Like there's still a
minute some odd left and Louisville's got two timeouts. Why

(02:00):
jumping around on the sideline and huggin everybody? Come on, man,
you've you've coached a game or two before to have.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
All I know you have might be celebrating after that
punt that didn't get blocked this time or dropped or anything,
as we've got a flag on the play at thirty
seconds remaining. But yeah, absolute chaos and and what do
we always say, you never let it go to to
the judges if you can help it, and uh, don't
let it go to your college kicker.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah, I'll tell you now. Look, I mentioned Aaron Glenn
that just real fests. This is a great headline today.
Coming off the Jets loss last night, Aaron Glenn said
he is quote evaluating everything, including a possible quarterback change.
I'm like, okay, and this is where I go to
my I say to myself again, the job is too
much for Aaron Glen.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
It would have been fun if he said I'm evaluating
the meaning of life or something like a grander scale, you.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Know, like like for the whole season he's been don't
ask me about the quarterback. You know, I'm playing koy
at the quarterback like it's a college and I'm they're
going to prepare for Justin Fields and to Rod Taylor
all now I feel like he's broken and he's just
like I'm evaluating everything now to be honest with you, like, Okay,
I've gone past the bravado and the games I'm playing
and now I realize, oh man, I'm really out of

(03:17):
my depth as a head coach, and I have to
really start looking at things like That's how I look
at the statement today. Again, I look at everything through
through different colored glasses with him, because I know he just,
you know, he's just not up for the job. He's
in over his head and he keeps making mistakes that
you don't think that that first year coach, even first
year coaches are gonna make. And to hear this, oh,
now I'm evaluating everything. Dude, you were two and eight.

(03:38):
When when were you not evaluating everything? When were you
not evaluating everything? Like you you were just letting it
go right now now you're not. I mean, I don't know,
I don't know what to say at this point. I'm like, okay, okay,
just call call Usc, get Lincoln Riley, you know, call
call Notre Dame, get Marcus Freeman out. You know, du
so spend a lot of money something they can't change
the owner because what he Johnson is terrible. But you know,

(04:00):
I'm pretty sure that the next head coach he can't
be any more out of his depth than Aaron glenn Is.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I had of a big game against Pitt. It's funny
that Freeman has to answer question after sign and give extension.
It's like, leybe alone, let me alone. I got a
game to coach. But what would have been funny for
Aaron glenn Is if he'd really leaned into the bit,
you know, being asked about, you know, the evaluation process.
It's like, you know, I have a meeting scheduled with
Rich later on. We're gonna talk about our options.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Rich Seman, He's gonna tell tell us
what to do.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Rich is gonna tell us like he's the great Oracle
of Jetsam.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I'm evaluating everything. Oh okay, but you weren't evaluating before now? Okay, okay,
because it was so good before now, everything was going
just so good before now, Like, man, again, another year.
I'm like, I'm just waiting till the end of the year.
I mean, I don't know what I'm I mean.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
We all I know that in different parts of our lives,
you just need a certain period of time to pass.
You know, when my kids have in class they don't
particularly like at school, I always say, you know what,
in a couple months, you'll have a different teacher. Do
the best you can, succeed and proceed move on. Likewise,
this jet season. At some point we're gonna flip to
January and it's gonna be playoff football.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
You're not gonna have to worry about that.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Oh no, no, don and you'll start looking ahead to
Nick's basketball even more. You're not gonna be paying attention
to any of the Syracuse stuff, and then you'll be
waiting on spring training.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
So it'll be great. Quick update from college football. You
can scratch Louisville. Clemson's gonna win this twenty to nineteen.
Louisville couldn't get a first down on their final drive,
so Clinton's gonna go to five and five. Louisville's gonna
fall to seven and three and out of the top
twenty five most likely. Again, these are the weeks we

(05:46):
talked about it last week. Starting last week, these are
elimination weeks for the college football playoff, and you're seeing
it happen real.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Quick question though, as they were hugging it up and
Dabbo's hugging and running up and down the sideline happier
than I think I've ever seen him, even when they
were winning big things. Just to crawl back to five hundred,
here there was a guy wearing a full on blue shirt.
He doesn't stay which one of these is not like
the other? Everybody else is in orange's in this giant blue,

(06:15):
blue hat, blue shirt. The whole night of why is
he special? Why does he get a different look?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
I just like that Dabbo spent more time hugging people
in the last five minutes than he did actually coaching. No,
that's true. He's hugging everybody after the first missfield goal,
He's hugging everybody after the second missed field goal. Now
he's hugging everybody after they won.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Well, it is the Thanksgiving season. It was a first
fourth quarter comeback win this season. They were zero to
five entering tonight, according to the graphic that they put
up at the end of the telecast here. Yeah, for Dabbo,
I think the fact that he gets back to five hundred,
because remember he's taken a lot of incoming for the
way they've decided to operate in the new nil and

(06:57):
re constituted college football slate. So he gets him to
five hundred, where he's been every year as a coach
at Clemson. So yeah, and a lot of hugs going on.
This might be their biggest win in this Thanksgiving season.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
So we got more college football on the way. We
got Pete few tax stop it by next, our preview,
and all the big games with us. But speaking of
big games, the NFL has a slew of them this week.
Some slates in the NFL. You gotta look and find
the game. Sometimes you just get a bunch and you
say thank you for this smorgasboard. We're getting a pre
Thanksgiving treat. No game bigger than the two best teams

(07:38):
in the NFL going at it on Sunday, the Seahawks
and the Rams. After this, there's gonna be one best
team in the NFL. Two one man leave. One gets
their head cut off, like they're the yeah, oh no,
you want to go now?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
You're mixing between Thundernome and Highland. Sure, oh yeah, yeah,
I sing a few bars of who wants to Live Forever.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Look, we talked about it last night. If we're doing
power rankings, these are the two teams at the top
because they're solid everywhere, and it's really impressive to see
the way that very workman like the way the Seahawks
are winning games, blowing teams out, donald being very aggressive downfield.
Matthew Stafford on a heater at the top of the
MVP conversation. These are the two best teams right now Sunday.

(08:27):
The Rams win this game. The defense is going to
win the game. Basically, I have more confidence that the
Rams defense will come up big and slow down Darnald
enough than I do that the Seahawks defense will be
able to put enough stoppages in the Rams offense. You
can still harass Sam Darnold from time to time. You
get pressure on him and he doesn't see what he
sees downfield. Sometimes he misses that receiver. He likes to

(08:50):
go to that first read all the time, and the
Rams are gonna be able to make it difficult for him.
You can still do it. You have to have a
really good defense. The Rams are one of the top
three defense in the NFL, best defense in the NFC.
Stafford's heater is gonna continue. But the Rams will go
heavier on the ground than you think they will, because
Sean McVay is always gonna have a little wrinkle in
his game plan, and you know they've been playing at

(09:11):
such a high level you expect one thing. You're gonna
get a really heavy dose of running in the first half,
they control the game, they win. I see a couple
of turnovers from Sam Donald, and we're talking about the
Rams being the best team in football next week.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
As long as those running backs don't put it on
the carpet for the year. They are minus four in
the turnover differential. Are the Seattle Seahawks. It's funny we
did the weekly edition of the iWatch Flex podcast earlier
and going into Sam Darnald a little bit with his
numbers to this point in translating them into fantasy purposes.

(09:46):
He's twenty first in the NFL for fantasy points per game,
which means he's twenty first for statistics, which is not
what's that good? So potential and they can't run the
ball right, my opia sets in with JSN no horton
this week, more Cooper Cup and then Rashid Shaheed looking

(10:10):
to make a bigger impact. Couple of rushing attempts last
week and just a single catch. I'll take Seattle's d
to rise up and give them enough plus two and
a half on the road at the Rams forty eight
and a half, so we're expecting some fireworks there. Stafford's
just been insane. That has to cool a little bit,

(10:30):
whether it's by design or not. But then I'm still
looking for Seattle to be opportunistic defensively to make a
play on the other sides.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
We are for Seattle and the Rams. The Big Game
Part two this week. Two teams that well, two teams
I believed in much more a week ago than I
do now. Yes, we're going to talk Bucks and the Bills.
The biggest thing in this game is whose issues suddenly
run deeper? Right? Buffalo one of those teams that stinker prone.

(11:00):
Tampa Bay was, Boy, they were really something the first
half of the season. Now the last couple weeks. What's
happened to them? Buffalo being at home, it's a big
deal in this game. But I think they have a
better shot of getting it right than Tampa does. Maybe
Tampa's starting to get figured out a little bit, you know,
missing the weapons. As long as they have, Baker Mayfield's

(11:20):
been able to keep the Bucks afloat, but now you
can only do so much. Really, they miss Bucky Irving.
Getting him back would be a huge, huge boost because
he's the guy that was bailing Baker Mayfield out a
lot during the season. Some of those game winning drives
at least twice was a second down or a third
down dump off to Bucky Irving that he turned into
a twelve or thirteen yard game. Right, He's the guy

(11:41):
they really missing that offense. And maybe you get a
little bit of a glimmer for Tampa Bay this week.
But I can't see Buffalo at home losing this week
after what they did last week against Miami. This is
more of a get right game for Buffalo. I think
they get back to basics and running the football a
lot with James Cook, no Dalton Kink, but I think
they'll be all right this week. I would really be

(12:02):
surprised to see Buffalo lose two in a row like this.
Gonna be closer, more points than you think in this game.
I love, love the offense, and both love the over,
but Buffalo takes.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
This forty nine and a half your total Buffalo five
and a half point favorites at home. You mentioned no Kincaid,
Still no Bucky Irving, which means more Sean Tucker here
shall Yeah, so more of him alongside Rashaan White. Still
waiting for updates on McMillan and trying to get that
receiving corps as complete as they can you've got and

(12:32):
you've got Abuca. Buffalo is still a top ten defense overall,
still smarting from last week. I mean they took a
lot of incoming and deservedly so. I mean that was
a big spot. Miami left for dead and you're letting
him off the mat the last couple of weeks playing inspired,
I guess from Mike McDaniel. This week we export the
Dolphins to Madrid, so that you got that going for you.

(12:55):
But Buffalo at home defensively enough to frustrate Baker. Mayfield
cited some stats on Sam Darnold. Mayfield in the last
five six games, looking very much the same, wishing, wanting,
hoping for some level of continuity. He does not find
it in front of the Bills faithful.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Uh yeah, I mean, it's it's gonna be It's gonna
be an entertaining game. And maybe this is the start
of the way back for Tampa because look, the first
half of the season, Mayfield was playing like an MVP candidate.
It was maybe the Bucks are the best team in
the NFL. But eventually, okay, no, Mike Evans, you know,
Chris Godwin, Okay, making it work with all with all
different kinds of wide receivers and a bunch of jags.

(13:33):
I mean, that's really something that Baker Mayfield's able to
do this. But when you start having to do that
for a long time, eventually you're gonna get figured out
a bit. But clearly we know that losing Bucky Irving
was the big one, right. He did it without Evans,
doing it without Godwin all but Bucky Irving was the
guy once he got hurt. Oh wait a minute, this
was the big key to the Bucks offense, especially in

(13:54):
the passing game, So him coming back would be a
big boost for them. But you know, regardless, it doesn't matter.
I think they can still score a lot because Buffalo's
defense is not great. But I mean, if they lose
a second game in a row like this, I'd almost
have to say I don't know that Buffalo could win
a playoff game. I mean that I'd be actually at
that point for the Bill. Two weeks ago, I said

(14:14):
the Bills should easily rise to the top of the
AFC over the course of the next month because the Bill,
the Bills are too talented to not be there, especially
when every single team that thinks they're a contender in
the AFC has issues. Everybody's got issues, but the Bills, hey,
they should get there now. I feel like if they
lose this game, it's what the hell? Man? What I mean,
what can you say about no one's riding to the

(14:37):
rescue at this point to make this team any better.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Yeah, they sit at eleventh and tonal defense giving up
twenty one point nine points per game. Offensively, Kincaid was
looking like he was going to become the number one guy.
And I love Khalil Shakir to move the chains and
for PPR leagues and all of that. He's a nice, steady,
reliable target. But Keon Goleman is a guy on and
off your radar doesn't show up for you on a

(15:02):
week to week basis. Even for James Cook, you've had
some disappearing acts where they haven't been able to get
the ground game going. So for Josh Allen, he might
have to don that cape that he hadn't had to
do much in the first half of the season. We
might need to see more of that if they want
to contend and battle with New England for the division crown.

(15:23):
Owing to Tampa for a second though, you know you
had a lot of fourth quarter heroics early on in
the season. You mentioned some of what Bucky Irving was
doing for them. You lose Mike Evans that he ain't
coming back off the collarbone, So that's a huge loss
for Mayfield, right steady as they go there, and Abuka

(15:43):
has been a great fine But you also as we
do for New England. Look, you can only beat who's
on the schedule. That's the truism of all truisms. But
the reality is they beat a bunch of also rans.
When they've played and gone up in weight class, they've
generally gotten punched in the face.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
And I think perhaps that's what happens this week. Exit
out about a Fresca exit Swallen Dome The Jason Smith

If you're not doing more Knicks talk, are you.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Own up and we ken if you want to Nick Nicks,
go New York, Go New York, Go go New York. No,
I'm I'm you know. Everything is fine, Okay, I'm figuring
out trades. We can trade Jalen Brunson now because Landry
Shammitt is better. So it's okay, now we can I'm
thinking how we get Luca. Maybe Luca and Austin Reeves
for Jalen Brunson will be fine. Okay.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah, anytime you can say the word, you know, the
name Landry Shammitt, it just rolls off.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
The tongue, shammit, Janet. Yeah uh you know. Tonight for
the Lakers, right, they beat the Pelicans one eighteen, one
oh four. Pelicans are tarot, but the Lakers continue. They're
really strong start to this season. Now they're nine and
four and yes, Luka, Doncic's twenty four points twelve assists tonight,
Austin Reeves thirty one points seven assists. All right, we

(19:39):
told you they are now. Doncic and Austin Reeves driven
and it's gonna be awkward when Lebron comes back. But
the other thing is this who has slowly become a
really good third option, who has been everything they hoped
he was going to be. Realistically, is DeAndre eight? And
tonight twenty points and sixteen boards. He was ten out

(20:00):
of eleven from the field. Yeah, Luca and Aiden have
a lot of chemistry, and suddenly this is the big
rim rocker. You know, they knew what they were doing
going out to get him, and all of a sudden,
now you're looking for that third guy on the Lakers. Yeah,
once in a while you'll get La Ravio. We'll have
a night. Ruy Hatchamo is still gonna score fourteen or
eighteen in the game. But the presence of DeAndre eight

(20:23):
and being able to run the floor the way he does. Uh,
this has been a really great chemistry filled first thirteen
games to the Lakers, because look, you know, you want
to build around Luca and what's going to make him
really good? And you know, maybe it's Lebron, right, maybe
it was, but what we've seen so far this year,
it really is Austin Reeves and and so far it

(20:44):
really is DeAndre eight. And this has been. I mean,
this is the Lakers shopping in the bargain bin, you know,
with the eight and like, you know, he's only twenty
seven but feels like he's forty. Yeah. Never was able to, uh,
you know, never was able to really you know, fulfill
his potential. But so far, what he's doing right now
is that number three guy on the Lakers. Yeah, he's
played pretty well so far.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Look Out, it's pretty crazy that he is only twenty
seven years old, right, because one of those guys that
we knew about for so long is like, okay, here
he is, and it seems like he's been in the
league forever. The years in Phoenix, couple of years in Portland.
Now you got eleven games twelve tonight, but fifteen and
a half, seven and a half rebounds and has shot

(21:28):
at a ridiculously high level.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Is at like two thirds, right.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
He's at like sixty seven sixty eight percent from the field.
And the perfect guy on the back end of the lob.
You mentioned Hachimura. He's their one three point shooter. They'll
probably need some more help in that regard if they
want to be real contenders, but for now, you're pleasantly
surprised where you are. Eventually you get past the awkwardness

(21:52):
of integrating Lebron James back into things. But for DeAndre
eight in career totals are at sixteen, he's not too
far off of those marks and giving you some inspired minutes.
So yeah, you gotta feel pretty good about it where
you're at in terms of maximizing.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
What he can he can return on the court. So
I have more NBA on the way. Again, it is
an NBA Cup night. You know which teams are taking
the Cup seriously and which teams aren't, and which teams
you can scratch from contention in the spring, because if
you're not taking the NBA Cup seriously, you're not going
anywhere when it really matters. Mike Carmon, that is that
is yeair.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
I mean you gotta be serious because if nothing else,
you're playing for a big ass bonus check.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah on a crazy ass looking court. Man. If that
doesn't get you hyped up for a game, nothing else.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Will to play in a championship game where no stats count.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
Uh so literal bit batman, all of these games everything said,
regular season game two. If you get to play that
one extra game, you might be near a bonus for
three points.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Whatever you've got in your contract, none of that count.
Now you get a check, but I'd like the extra
bonuses too. Come on, now, do.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
You think anybody has something in their contract in the
NBA that's if if we play and do something in
the NBA Cup championship game, Like you think there's a
in that cause you know the stats aren't, don't go.
Do you think there is somebody that's got something in
their contract that says, hey, if I do X in
this championship game, I get a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
I gotta go through and find out how much specificity
you can do for a single game appearance like that. Yeah,
I'm curious though, right, Like, say you go for thirty,
thirteen and five in that title game and one of
those would have put you over in a stat category
where you had some incentives, or the minutes that you

(23:47):
played would have put you over for the year, but
they don't count.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
Listen, I'll give you a hometown discount. I'll sign for
three years and sixty million, but if we make it
to the championship game of the NBA Cup and I
score twenty, you pay me another twenty million dollars.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
But you know what I mean, Like we have mind,
you know how many games you play in a year
right to be eligible for reward. You go for sixty five.
What if you played sixty four? You play that game,
but you don't play again. It's like, oh, that sixty
fifth doesn't count. So I could have been Defensive Player
of the Year. I would have gotten a Supermax. I
got nothing.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Now twenty nine is not thirty atdy. You will get
only the money you deserve. Anything else, No, that's it,
mister commis wait to go, comey. So big quarterback change
on the horizon This week in the NFL, Brock Party
is set to return to the lineup for the forty
nine ers as they take on the Cardinals. And look,

(24:45):
this is a fun topic to get into because this
is happening, even though I am sure the forty nine
ers don't want to. They have been running really well
with Mac Jones, right. Mac Jones was terrific last week.
Not his fault. They lost was thirty three out of
thirty nine. We've talked about this. The forty nine ers
are looking at their situation going, man, we overpaid for

(25:05):
brock Purty. I know he's a great story in all
of this, but when he had great weapons, we overestimated
how good he was. He's good. He's a good enough
quarterback when he has great weapons. And man, I'll tell you,
I know anybody that had the weapons brock Purty did
when he walked into the league, right, I mean the
fact that Trey Lance couldn't stay healthy and Jimmy Garoppolo stunk.
I mean that tells you when you're walking in with
McCaffrey and Ayuk and Deebo Samuel and George Kittlitz. Dude,

(25:28):
lots of guys could do well with this. And mac
Jones has been really good. He's been exactly what brock
Purty has been, except mac Jones has been better because
he hasn't had the weapons because they've all been injured.
Brandonayuk still hasn't opened up his window return from the
pup list, right, George Kittle is hoping to continue to
get back and being a being a big time number

(25:49):
one tight end in the NFL. But look, you don't
have quite the same weapons you have outside of Christian
McCaffrey and mac Jones has played well. I don't think
you have any choice but to go back to brock
Purdy because you don't want that narrative out there any
longer that well, maybe we got the wrong guy playing quarterback,
right maybe, Like so I really think they're going back

(26:11):
to brock Purty now because well we lost last week,
so okay, even though it wasn't brock Purdy's fault, this
is the time to go back to him because if
we don't and mac Jones keeps playing well, like, we
get into more of a sticky wicket and we don't
want the narrative out there that we overpaid for our quarterback.
So yeah, sorry, mac Jones, you're gonna hit the bench
because we really have no choice because we don't want

(26:33):
to look bad. Right, So this is why we're going
back to brock Purty, even though mac Jones played so well.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
So now they've had an interesting win loss win, loss,
win loss kind of run here under under mac Jones
completing nearly seventy percent of his passes thirteen to six
touchdown to interception ratio. He's been fantastic, there's no question
about him. But you did pay brock Purty to be
the guy, so when healthy look, while mac Jones has

(26:59):
played great and there's a lot to what you say
in terms of your availability for your biggest options and
weapons across the year. Well, those guys aren't necessarily coming
back through the door. Piersall joined them this week, still waiting,
as you said on Ayuk. But this is why you
signed him to the big deal. So he's supposed to

(27:21):
be your guy. So you're not see sawing back and forth.
I mean, you did lose a game where you scored
fifteen points to Houston. They're not good. Defense is pretty strong,
but overall, I mean other teams have been able to navigate.
You struggled against an Atlanta squad. You lost out right
to Tampa. The Rams is a different animal. We've talked

(27:41):
about them a lot. We're here in the belly of
the Beast in the Greater Los Angeles area, and I
think folks are finally getting an appreciation for Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Hopefully they go.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Back and give a real eye to what he did
in Detroit all those years and stop with terrible narratives
from his years there. But you know, sometimes there's no
teaching people. But all that to say, uh, as as
we we look at you know where you're at going forward?

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Uh you put it in on brock Purty.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I'll trust my guy Greg Cosel that I do the
Sunday morning show that that on tape. What he does, uh,
is that much better than Mac Jones, even if some
of the the ancillary numbers, uh, you know match up
pretty neatly. So what we'll see what comes back with
with him under center in the return to the field. Yeah,
I've been on the field since the end of September.

(28:32):
As we talked with Jay Glazer last night, Jason, I mean,
this is an injury and for all you know, he's
back out after two series, right, based on the pain
tolerance and.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
What you're trying to do.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Yeah, I mean t Turfto's that that thing that when
you hear it, and until we started talking to a
lot of guys that played in the league and and
how it affected things, it was one you dismissed, going
that guy's soft. It's like no, no, no different animal man.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Meanwhile, let's talk Chiefs and Broncos. Denver is too hot,
They're gonna slow down. Bo Nicks is terrible. Kansas City's
coming off a bye yeah, forget it. Denver's at home,
They're unbeaten. Their defense wins this game. All right, Kansas
City is exactly where I thought they would be. What

(29:22):
did I say, stock up on Patrick Mahomes, stock down
on the Chiefs. I think you're Frostburg. They're gonna lose this.
Get well, whit its the Broncos. He hates the Broncos
just as much as the Chiefs. It just doesn't.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
But no, the Broncos haven't won in a while, so
don't I don't think he hates them quite the same.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Everything I've said about the Chiefs has come true so
far this year. Mahomes is gonna be have a big
year because he's got his weapons.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
He wants to prove that narrative of him being a
game manager is over after the past two years. But
it's going to be a struggle for the Chiefs because
the younger teams are more athletic and they have all
kinds of problems. Broncos are gonna win on Sunday because
their defense is too good. They're playing at home, and
Kansas City will be five and five midway through the year,
right where I said, They're gonna be a team that's
gonna struggle to make the playoffs, mainly because the other

(30:09):
teams have gotten really good around them, and for Denver
it seems like a trap spread with Kansas City being
favored here. But you know what, this is just the
continued overvaluing of Kansas City because oh look, look out
now the weapons back. Yeah, there's still five and four man,
still five and four. This is still Kansas City. They're
not gonna suddenly win twelve games in a row. This

(30:30):
is not the same Kansas City team. It's not quite
the same squad that's been going to Super Bowls. As
we see, the better teams in the AFC are all
rising up, and the Broncos defense at such a high level.
If this is in Kansas City, I would say, you
know what, this could be a little bit more of
a shootout. I give a little bit more towards Kansas City,
but in Denver, the Broncos defense they have played tremendous

(30:53):
the entire season. That's going to continue on Sunday. I
don't like it for a big day for points. Overall,
I love the under in this game. It'll be close
for a bit, but it's gonna be the Broncos defense
that wins this game and they go to nine to two. No. JK.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Dobbins in this one, your guy R. J. Harvey gets
the start here and a bigger workload. So fantasy owners
saddle up if you want to go there. Both teams
in terms of total defense seventeen point three allowed per
game by Denver, seventeen point seven by Kansas City. And
then we get to the fun part of Andy Reid

(31:28):
coming out of a bye week. There is no Patrick,
Sir Tan, which means Rashi Rice is going to feast
in that secondary Kansas City win's going.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Away, Win's going away. Wow?

Speaker 3 (31:41):
In Denver wins several times.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yeah, look at you, all right, so opposite me, What
am I gonna say? They win a close one? No,
they win going away.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
They come to Denver, and some of the chatter that's
been swirling about bow Nicks and that Denver offense gets
a little bit louder.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
You say it like Andy Reid is gonna fight Sean
Payton after the game. Well he might. I don't know
about that. I would steal his nuggies. I would definitely
take Sean Payton a fight with Andy Reid. I mean
that's one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Well, I mean he looks more menacing, Yeah, and he might.
He could go underhanded with that you know, whole bounty thing.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
If he if he don't too soon, if he does
take the Nuggies out of his hand, maybe Andy Reid
has some sort of like Wolverine berserker rage like going on,
Like maybe that could happen.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
If we get outside of that, that would be fantastic
berserker Andy Reid, because someone took his nuggies.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Time out to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports from a special delivery, Steve to saying
or as day what he got for us.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
Andy Reid would win that fight. If Sean Payton was
trying to protect a bag of cheeseburgers.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Oh okay, Tommy Burgers.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Yeah, we did have something with uh technology in the
NBA tonight, forcing game to continue to another overtime.

Speaker 7 (33:02):
Just now. The Clippers are at Dallas.

Speaker 6 (33:04):
It looked like they'd gone ahead with a second and
a half left in the first overtime when goldtending was
called on Dallas after review with technology showing the arc
of the shot. Oh boy, they took away the basket.
The game remained tied. We're on to the second ot.
Midway through it, Clippers lead at Dallas one twenty nine

(33:25):
one twenty five James Harden a triple double, forty one points,
thirteen rebounds, eleven assists and just two turnovers the other
late games at San Antonio, nine minutes left Spurs leading
Golden State eighty seven to eighty despite the thirty five
points from Steph Curry from three point range, He's eight
of fifteen. New York was a one forty to one

(33:47):
thirty two winner over Miami carl Anthony Towns thirty nine
points victories from Minnesota Orlando for Detroit, which has won
nine in a row, Pistons beat Philadelphia one fourteen, one
oh five. Pistons record a leven and two. Milwaukee in overtime,
defeated Charlotte. Wins for the Lakers and Houston. In college basketball,
Number six Michigan a winner at TCU sixty seven sixty three.

(34:11):
Right now in LA Top twenty matchup as UCLA ahead
of number five Arizona fifty seven fifty one with under
seven minutes to go, that was a somewhat somewhat of
a personation.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
I think my best already span your forum there, Jason.

Speaker 7 (34:29):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
His Wildcats are losing at the LA Clippers Arena by
the way Number nineteen Gonzaga twenty four to twenty at
Arizona State in the first half. Number twenty one, Arkansas
defeated Samford seventy nine seventy five. And by the way,
the Samford Bulldogs from Birmingham, Alabama have never played Stanford
in football or in men's basketball in history.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Just for the record, but have they played Stamford with
an m.

Speaker 7 (35:00):
Some community college in Connecticut that I'm.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I mean, really, I mean, you can have a Commander
in Chief trophy where Stanford and Stamford and Stamford all
play each other over the course of the year.

Speaker 7 (35:10):
I bet you could work on that. I had some sponsors.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
There you go. Shell. That's the only time Stanford's gonna
win anything in sports now, So why not.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Brought to you by the Jason Smith Show with Mike
Garment here.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
That's right because they went to that tough acc where
Syracuse is dominant.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
Oh sorry, no, it's not. It's a difference. Speaking of which, we.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Had Clemson at number twenty Louisville in college football tonight.
Clemson was four and five this year. They got the
win twenty to nineteen as the Cardinals missed an extra
point in the first AF missed two field goal attempts
late in the game from fifty and forty six yards,
And there's a game on Fox TV right now. Eighth
ranked Oregon apparently has scored again. An extra point would

(35:53):
make it thirty five thirteen over Minnesota late in the third.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve O. The Jason Smith
Show with My best friend Mike Carmon coming up next,
news that every single sports fan will love. I get everything.
No one is gonna say I hate this news. Everybody's
gonna love it. That's news. It's next Jason and Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Radio Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
Right now, Number eight Oregon on top of Minnesota, thirty
five thirteen. Minnesota's got so much boat rowing to do
if they want to get back in this game. They
are not rowing the boat so far. There's no rowing happening.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
No, no, no, that boat sank, it's leaking. The dropped the
oars and now they're just sitting.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
There in the water. Yeah, they're just waiting, waiting for
a rescue. We got Pete fu Tech coming up next
hour on the Shows, we take a look at all
the big games in college football tomorrow. But as promised,
sports news that everyone will love, not one person's gonna
say I hate this.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Taylor Swift is getting married in Disney World.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Yes, and she's actually marrying Patrick Mahomes. No, wow, that
would be something like that. But Tyshert said, ty Shirt
said a few bits. Oh no, but I had Let's
see if even Let's see if even ty Shirt can
hate this story. I go. The two week old biggest
TV sports TV story is now at its conclusion. Disney

(37:38):
has reached a new deal with YouTube, ending the blackout
that's gone on for the last sixteen days. So now
you have YouTube, you able to watch Monday Night football,
all the all the college football games. The ratings will
be back up high. Everybody wins now, Alex Tyshirt, can
you hate this story?

Speaker 8 (37:58):
Still hated?

Speaker 7 (37:59):
Why it doesn't bother me?

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Well, that's that's the larger thing that I'm raising my
hand on on some of this stuff. Because remember how
we talked about at the time what a clown show
was of, you know, the basically the telethon thing, or
maybe the Sarah McLaughlin music playing in the background, as
as all the hosts were begging you to talk to

(38:22):
your provider to you know, solve this issue. Meanwhile, hey,
go go get our thirty dollars a month thing, so
you get all the best that ESPN has to offer.
You know, YouTube tv only has ten million.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Or so subscribers.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Yeah, so in the end, it's a small number of
affected folks.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
You well, but but it's always when you look at
when you look at the ratings of games and they go, well,
this is far below what we've had, and that affects it.
I mean, that's a domino effect that defects advertising rates
there because you're down You're down, right, I mean that.
I mean that's a thing.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
No, no, no, look for them, it's a big deal.
I'm just thinking for Joe, Joe Q and Susie Public,
they don't care.

Speaker 8 (39:03):
So Jason good Good, I got this right. Yeah, Disney
had ESPN ESPN up on YouTube, right. YouTube wasn't able
to get it becausey didn't have a deal. Right now
they have a deal, So ESPN stuff is back on YouTube, right,
Just go get ESPN then why are you tripping.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
It gets on a bus just gonna get Disney.

Speaker 7 (39:21):
Yeah, I don't think that's I'll still sucks.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Go okay, Alex No, Alex tyshirt media magnates. But he
tried to dial it back to brass.

Speaker 8 (39:32):
No.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Look I get it.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
Like there there's certainly when we talk about ratings, when
we talk about carriage rates, whatever YouTube TV wants upon
a time, thirty five bucks, you added a ton of channels. Uh,
and the ESPN channels that a lot of folks that
would be in those ten million of subscribers they don't
care about.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
They've got it for some other reason.

Speaker 8 (39:54):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
And and we're.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Like, wait, I've got to pay how much for that?
So that's where you get into these fights, particularly as
you're trying to promote your own product.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
It's uh, Look, they needed to do this because they
have enough trouble adapting to the modern sports landscape, right.
ESPN's a big meat and potatoes company. Anytime there's something
new or cutting edge, they fall on their face on
whether it's sports gambling or solitaire apps. You are you
to TV? Whatever it is. Oh, I had the phone, Yeah,

(40:25):
I get to keep the phone. Do you have it?

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Because you could probably make some money selling it in
the secondary market.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
I have no idea where, but I had it for
so long, and the best thing about the phone was
that I had it set up that when you know
when your team scores, it buzzes and tells you, so
like I would always know when the Mets were playing bad.
I'm like, I haven't gotten a buzz in forty five
minutes the Mets are losing. I know I haven't gotten
a buzz and not scored to run at all.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
Yeah, I'm certainly not trying to dismiss it. In the end,
I want everybody to be able through their provider of choice,
to be able to access games.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
But I certainly did not feel bad for the corporate
entity involunteer.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
No, I think you hated all the fans to you,
just did everybody who has Youtubeah beat, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
I'm in the studio enough staring at your face. I
wasn't gonna give them my money.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
You've shown your true colors. I think people are gonna
start coming up to you in public and saying, hey,
I have YouTube, haartman, I want to I want a
piece of you right now. Bring it coming up Next

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
