Speaker 2 (00:22):
Give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings, Welcome
in Side hour two The Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike Harmon Livethtirac dot com Studios. Happy Halloween,
and I don't know, man, the NFL I think had
it right putting this Jets Texans game on Halloween.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Wait till I tell you what we just saw. Tyrack
dot com. I'll help you get there. An unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection and over ten thousand
recommended install hiss. Tire rack dot Com is the way
tire buying should be. So the Jets after and I'm
not this is no hyperbole. After the best catch of

(01:06):
the year in the NFL, and maybe maybe the best
catch since Odell Beckham's catch a few years ago. Garrett
Wilson scores his second touchdown of the game, a one
handed grab in the end zone, same kind of play
as Odell. It's ruled an incomplete pass, but after review
it is a touchdown. The Jets take a fourteen to
ten lead. Hey, things are changing. Nope, Texans go down

(01:28):
the field, but the Jets defense stiffens, forcing a field
goal on fourth down. Field goal is good, okay. Jets
lead fourteen thirteen with about seven minutes left to go. Nope,
a roughing penalty because the snapper got blown up. Eric Watts,
who is an undrafted free agent, comes in, makes a
fifty three man roster blows up the snapper, which you're

(01:50):
not allowed to do, and it's a fifteen yard penalty
and a first down for the Texans. Jets gonna jet right,
This is like, okay, this is how every Jets game
I've seen now for the last forty years. But the
defense holds.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yeah, all right, Nixon run, Nixon run. Ye incomplete pass, Yeah,
big thing there.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
The Jets steve okay, so yea. So now the Texas
go to kick a field goal and they don't get
off the left upright. No good. The Jets jet their
way to a three point net and so it's still
fourteen to ten with the football about six and a
half minutes left to go. That play is gonna change
the Jets fortunes that have been going awful for forty years.

(02:29):
That play right there, the Jets succeeded despite themselves. That's
gonna turn all the way these that have gone the Jets,
and it's gonna flip things. And now it's gonna be
nothing but sunshine, lollipops and rainbows and victories. And we're
gonna go. You know, we're gonna win the rest of
the game. We're gonna run the table, and we're gonna
be eleven and six and we're gonna be AFC East champions.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
On Monday, we were breaking down Game three of the
World Series and the latest in a long line of
debacles for the Jets. You declared them dead since it
is holloween? Did you goads again?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
What does Michael do? He always rises? Yeah? But did
you go in? Well?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
But this is resurrecting your hope. I don't know what else.
It's just you at this moment. But did you go
and promise someone else's souls? Did you give Zoey's soul away?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I see, I don't think you can do that because
I told you I made that deal with me. She's
still an Listen, here's here's you know you are in
charge of these other souls. Wow, that's how he gets you. Well,
that's how he gets you well now. And I'm glad
you asked me that question because I told you I
made the deal with the devil. He gave me the
mets to the NLCS. I can't get you all the way.
I'm only I'm only so well. And there was a

(03:41):
giant blank spot. Yeah, I mean you said, well, he
could fill in later. I said, really, you can't get
them to win the to win the World Series. I can't.
I'm only so powerful. But I will get you to
point where you actually outperform the Yankees, who are going
to make the World Series. All right, fine, and then
the devil says, okay, but now I gotta get even
with the other way. And I said, okay, fine, but

(04:01):
this is what happens. You don't make a deal with
the devil. Because what happened generally not a good idea.
The Yankees had to go to the World Series. Syracuse
lost that Thursday night game last week to pit awful, awful, awful, awful.
The Jets have lost five games in a row. Terrible.
Everything is everything has been terrible. I'm like, wow, the
Devil is really getting it revengeed me. But I called
him because I said, hey, I need a double down here,

(04:22):
I need some kind of other thing here. But what
Once you bargain your soul, you can't get another soul.
It's not like that ill gotten donut on your head.
He said, Look, it's not my fault. You made a
bad deal. You should have just bargained part of your soul.
I said, I didn't know I could do that. So
right now I'm in arbitration with the devil because I
didn't know. He didn't reveal there's no fractional He told Baltimore,

(04:44):
you can you can bargain part of it. Say his
name though, yeah, he must not be na can't say
his name. There's actually gonna be arbitrations now. There's a
long line for this. It's going to be a few
years because a lot of people know this, and apparently
it's a thing with the devil. He doesn't tell people that.
He doesn't tell you. It's like, hey, wait a minute,
there's a lot of people that bargain all of their
soul and they didn't have only could bargain part of

(05:04):
their soul. So I'm saying, Okay, I realize I have
to be on the hook for part of my soul,
but not all of it, which means I have more
to bargain. So maybe this is why I'm getting a
little bit of life.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Hey, Syracuse basketball wins a couple of games. The Knicks
start after they get pounded Opening Night and the Celtics
make all those threes. Hey, the Knicks are winning. Big
Bodega had forty four last night. Wait a minute, man,
maybe maybe think maybe things are turning a little bit. Yeah,
devil like a drug deal. I got part of my
soul back fractionalized, and uh, he needs repeat customers. Makes

(05:35):
joint with you a bit more so, just so you know,
the devil has to ask you about how much of
your soul you want a wager. He can't just say
this is for your soul and you have to He
can have to tell you. It's like when you go
to get buy a car.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'm sure there's plenty of good lawyers you can find
down Yeah, dealing, I'm like.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
When you go to a car in the car and
the guys, well, I'll throw in five percent off sticker,
you know, but you got to do me a favor
and we're gonna sign it. No, no, no, you have to
give me that. That says in your paperwork you have
to offer me five percent off sticker. Oh it seems
like when they try to do that to you, trying
to make it sound like they're giving you something that
they have to give you, right exactly, of course. So
just know you can do that with the devil. Just
understand he doesn't. Okay, Well, that's good.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Now.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's good to know.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
And when you're you're bartering for your share of immortality.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
But there's a reason why I'm telling the story such
because of the jets, Okay, it's because in my second
meeting with the devil, you know who I was in
the room with. Oh boy, I was in the room
with the biggest Milwaukee Bucks fan, and he's really mad
because he bargained his soul. He's big mad right now
for a champions I don't know that he's gotten in
to meet the devil yet to try to say, but

(06:42):
but he bargained his soul for that championship, and now
the Devil has come back for it. Devil sent him
Doc Rivers that year Devil game. But you just wait,
what are you gonna get me back for? I live
in Milwaukee. What are you gonna do? I don't know
you're gonna make the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Do you see what I let Peter A Lonzo do
to you guys in Game three? Don't worry about that?
Oh man? All right? Fine?

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
The Milwaukee Bucks lose tonight to the Grizzlies one twenty
two to ninety nine. It was a huge night for
Jahn Moran right Murrant had a triple double early in
the third quarter. He goes twenty six, fourteen and ten rebounds.
The Grizzlies thumped the Bucks. Yeah, they got to clear
the bench. I think Bronni got some minutes. I think yes,

(07:26):
I think no, I think actually, other everybody else who's
related to lebron James got minutes in this game. An
amazing night for him, Not so much for the Bucks.
Damian Lillard four points on one of twelve shooting. Jannis
goes for thirty seven and eleven, so he has a
typical seven in a row. Uh, He's seventeen for twenty
two from the floor. But the Bucks have fallen to

(07:47):
one and four. It is their worst start in fourteen years.
And things are not going well. And there's three people
that are going to bear the brunt of all of this,
and it's gonna be on Doc Rivers and Damian Lillard.
And I'll tell you what. In what I've seen from
the Bucks so far this year, Damian Lillard is still

(08:08):
scoring and it but it just doesn't seem like, you know,
in the in the snatches that I've seen of them play,
it just doesn't seem like they seem like they should
be on a different page with each other at this point,
and there's still not. It's still too much of a
struggle with the Bucks of times so and which is
shocking because lou is still a guy that can score points. Obviously,
he was down off of his career, off off of

(08:30):
you know, thirty points a game. Because now he's sharing
the floor with Giannis, there's not as many shots there.
But it just doesn't seem like it flows as well
as it should. They struggle to score too much. Look, obviously,
the talent around them is not quite what it was
at the height of their championship three years ago. Because
you know, you've lost some guys and guys aren't playing,
but it's not going well. And when you can say,

(08:53):
all right, Giannie is still Jannis, Damian Lillard seems to
kind of be Damian Lillard still boy, he's had it tonight,
but still but he's getting older. What has this team
been since Doc Rivers has taken over? What has this
team been since Doc Rivers has taken over? Because that's
what's gonna happen. That's the domino that's gonna fall. Because
Giannis has three more years on his contract before he

(09:15):
can opt out. Now, could he could he sit out
and say I want to trade on the brunt trade?
You could, but I mean he signed a three year
deal and he the player option doesn't kick in for
him for another three years. So he's there. He's a
Milwaukee Buck now. I know. I'll say, oh, what if
Jannith becomes a fair that's a long way away. Nothing's
happened with Damian Lillard. They made a big trade to
get him. He's still scoring points. I don't know how
much longer Doc Rivers has because in an Eastern Conference

(09:37):
where everybody got better and you can see dynamically how
good the Knicks are, how good the Celtics still are. Right,
you don't know how the Sixers are gonna be when
Joel Embiid comes back. You know, after all the investigations
and everything else, you've seen some teams in the East
that are now rising. Look, the Magic looked like they
were on their way to being really good, but now
they're oute Paulo Bancaro for at least the next four

(09:59):
to six weeks the oblique injury. We found that out tonight.
You've seen teams in the East are rising. And who's
the one team, the one contender you can see that
is staying at that same level and falling. It's Milwaukee.
I don't know how much longer they stayed with doc Rivers.
But it's not gonna be till Christmas. I mean, this
is not gonna be Hey, after the Hollidays, we're gonna
figure things out. No, they tried last they tried getting

(10:19):
doc Rivers in and see how the and things did
not go well. And I don't understand this vision and
belief that all doc Rivers is such a great team
wasn't good, right, The team wasn't good. We saw it,
and you see them with a bad start. Now, I
don't know how long he has. If you put the
over under for me a Christmas Day struggling like this,
I will say it will happen before Christmas Day. Yeah,
you go back to the the process last year and

(10:43):
now the glass behind the scenes, right, the forcing of
the hands of ownership. You know how much Giannis, you know,
made the move for the coaching change, and also the hey,
let's go get Dame Lillard and whether he styles right.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
We talked about styles and playing styles and how much
differently you know, Jannis excels generally he wants to run right,
you want to get up and down the court, and
Dame not that same level at this point. And we've
gotten to see them in patches here and certainly head
on a swivel with all the NBA action, but certainly

(11:22):
since Doc Rivers took over, there's something amiss. And yeah,
the depths not there from a couple of years ago,
but yeah, whole off season here, you've had several years
to where this roster is morphed. And for Doc Rivers,
like we've had many a conversation about Doc through the years,
there's good and then there's the good to great and

(11:44):
we haven't seen that that last bit two thousand and eight.
It's a long long time ago in terms of finishing
off great expectations from a lot of teams that he's coached,
and this Milwaukee squad's one of them. In an Eastern
Conference where you've got the Celtics, you've got the Knicks,
and now they're starting to be swirled the rumors of
you know, preferred destinations, which you know you put on

(12:06):
the background because, as you said, the contract is there
that makes it kind of difficult to do a whole lot.
Doesn't mean that there isn't a team that's overpaid a
guy or two that wouldn't love just to get out
from underneath contracts, But is that what Milwaukee wants to do?
A full blow it up and reset kind of thing,
because that's that's the only way you're making any of
that match. So uh yeah, it's it's a difficult stretch,

(12:29):
pretty painful to watch tonight. The rest of the team
shot about thirty percent not named Giannis.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It just feels inevitable. When they brought Doc Rivers into
be a spark, there was no spark. Okay, now, We've
had an off season, let's clear it out, and this
is how we start. Like I just I just feel
like it's it's almost inevitable, like we're sliding to that
conclusion and it's gonna be sometime in the next few weeks.
I feel like that's kind of where we're at. That's it.

(12:57):
You're now in a heat.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
You start getting heat, right because it's week two looking
for storylines, can't run off of what was going on
in the offseason, right Ronnie and lebron have already played
check Box, Anthony Davis still putting up big numbers, Checkbox,
the Knicks and the Knicks, and there's cat and whatever else.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
But this one.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Starts to bubble up a little bit because the Giannis
is still one of those top players that we chronicle
every move, and this was supposed to be the move
to put them in contention with those aforementioned squads, and
right now it's an abject failure.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Exit out about a Fresco exit swollen Dome. The Jason
Smithshow with Mike Carmon Live from the tiraq dot Com Studios.
Remember when I told you the Jets are gonna be
too big to fail? Well, boy, tonight might be that night.
Aaron Rodgers has just hit Devonte Adams on a long
touchdown pass, his first touchdown as a Jet. The Jets
now lead the Texans twenty one to ten with two

(13:52):
and a half minutes left to go. In this game,
nothing makes sense. The Jets should not be winning. They've
made incredibly embarrassing plays that will live forever, and still
here they are now protecting an eleven point lead with
a couple minutes left to go against the six and
two Texans. It doesn't make it, but I don't care
because look at this. I got my soul back. I
got my sallback, Mike.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Just for a moment, Texans took points off the board.
Bad job by them, and now you look at the
extension of the lead and DeVante Adams wide open once again.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Coming up next, we'll have more on this game because
there is much deeper stuff to get into on this
incredible turn of events. On Thursday night, we get other
big stuff out of the NFL as well. Happy Halloween,
Jason to Mike, this is Fox Sports Radio. You're getting
sucked in again. I see it.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Instead of Candy, I'm getting a Jets win. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with
Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
But Dan Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Really pretty good representation of a Thursday Night was that
from Tyshirt said?

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Okay, I just bought it up Thursday night football? All right,
very very good, very good watch. I can do it again.
You're ready? Yeah, go ahead? Wasn't that? Wasn't that al
Michaels in the first half when it was nothing nothing?

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yes, sounds about right, gam Kirk herbs Street after the
Malachi Corley playing.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Now you know why the Jets were favored in this game.
A minute twenty to go in the fourth quarter, Houston
is driving. However, it is the Jets with a twenty
one to ten lead over the Texans. You've had two
touchdowns by Garrett Wilson. One maybe the best catch in
the NFL we've seen since Odell Beckham, a one handed

(15:54):
grab in the back of the end zone from Garrett
Wilson that just defies reason. Davante Adams this first touchdown
as a Jet as well, And now for the Texans.
They're gonna need a touchdown and on side kick in
a field goal. Not impossible because you know Jets. But
twenty one to ten Jets with the lead on Halloween,
it figures this is when the Jets would suddenly start gay.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
All.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Oh, let's give everybody. I told you why I like
the Jets tonight last night. Hey, this is a typical
game the Jets use and they win and they give
people hope. No, no, we don't want hope to leave
your body. We want you to be like Dracula's victims,
where we drain your blood almost all the way to
the end, but we still keep you alive. And you're
really suffering, but we keep you alive for a while,
you regenerate your blood, and then we're gonna then we

(16:37):
take your blood all the way down to the bottom again.
Do you kill me then? No, no, you stay alive.
That's kind of what the Jets do every single I
think I saw that on Law and Order. Yeah. CJ.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Stroud is eleven of twenty eight. In this game, Bobby
slowicks some questionable decisions along the way. He has rushed
for fifty three yards, which is it's a lot of
yards for CJ. Stroud not normally sucking up a bunch
in the rushing column, but the absence of Nico Collins
and Stefan Diggs showing up big in this one against

(17:08):
the Jets. Dan looked, a pass defense has still been
fairly solid. You've been able to run on him. So
Joe Mixon up to twenty four carries for one hundred
and six yards, but early on.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
In this game, it's like, why is he not seeing
the ball? Yeah? I mean why is he not running
the ball? Who can run on the Jets? The Jets
run defense is not good. It hasn't been good in
a while. You can run on them. The best thing
the Jets have going for them, we talked about this
is their pass defense, and they have seven sacks nights.
They've been able to get to c J. Stroud a lot,
but ten points from an electric offense. But yes, no Nicocollins,

(17:40):
no Stefan Diggs. This is why we talked about this
a couple nights ago, and look, it's the best of
we put it out there on social media. The Texans
have to jump to the front of the line. We
need a wide receiver and we talked about this two
nights ago coming into this game. They need a watch.
Tank Dell is great. I love Tank Dell. He can
be uncoverable, but he can't be the only guy. And
you don't have really anybody else else who is some

(18:01):
kind of threat. Robert Woods is fifty five years old,
the guy, you know what I mean, He's not the
same Robert Woods of nineteen seventy five. It's gonna be difficult.
You absolutely need somebody else because this is a team
with Super Bowl aspirations because they're really good. They play
in a bad division. They can win games running the football,
they can win games throwing the football there and they

(18:21):
can play any kind of game and beat you. Now
and with all the weapons they got in the offseason,
it was boy, who's gonna get the football? Boy, that's
gonna be a big thing. Now suddenly there's nobody. And
I know Nico Collins is on his way back, supposedly
in a couple of weeks. There has been no setbacks.
He's one of the top five receivers in the NFL.
But you just don't know. And you lost to Von Diggs,
who had been your leading receiver. You can't rely that. Okay, Well,

(18:44):
what we had close to what we had is enough. No, No,
they absolutely need to go and get a wide receiver,
and they jump to the top of the line of
all the teams in the NFL and need a wide receiver.
Now they're at the top because they're six and two.
Depending on the outcome of this game, they have Super
Bowl aspirations. They absolutely have to go get a wide
even more than the Steelers actor get waders.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
The other piece, what do I always argue in preseason,
and you make fun of me and mock me for
my analysis.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
That sausage and pepper sandwiches in Chicago are overrated. That's
a pretty good one. Okay, No, it's lower than that. Though.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
They need another offensive lineman or they need to rescheme things.
Coming into tonight, Stroud had already been sacked twenty two times.
You add another seven tonight, all right, and you've seen
even Reddick getting in the act.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Right.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
You heard his name very early, quite often in this
game as they were getting after him. He was sacked
thirty eight times all of last season. We're at twenty nine, you.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Know, look watching him tonight and watching him play in
some of the other games they lost. Nico Collins three
weeks ago. Right, everything was great through five weeks. But CJ.
Stroud is doing What happens to quarterbacks is that when
you lose players, and it's only natural that the quarterback
say I need to do I'm going to try to

(20:02):
do more. And what he does is he holds onto
the football forever, right, and that's a lot, and he
holds onto the football for so long. He's doing it
a lot tonight, and a lot of the Jets sacks
are I'm holding, holding, holding, holding, there's nothing. I'm turning
around to the left to try to run the side,
but there's a defensive lineman right where.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Okay, but it's that bad sack as well, because it's
not a sack.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Twelve yard sack. And it's tough because sometimes you can
make a play like that, but sometimes boy throw it
away and live to fight another day. You're running the
football really well against the Jets. But it happens quarterbacks say, look,
I need to be able to find a way to
make more plays and I can have great escapability because
c J. Stroud does. Man, he keeps the play alive
like very few quarterbacks too. He is fantastic at that.

(20:45):
But sometimes you have to know, all right, I just
got to get rid of the ball. Here, it's second
and ten if I throw it away, third and ten.
If I take a sack, it's third and twenty one.
And we're punting, right, so at least make something attainable.
But it happens because there's nobody if somebody's gonna get
open at some point, but guys aren't getting open, you
know why. It's not like you have great players downfield.

(21:07):
If Tank Dell is not open, I'm sorry, DeAndre Hopkins
of twenty fifteen is not walking through that doork at that.
It's not happening, right, it's not happening. Look at that.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
You want to full d hoop and almost on cue
Reddick with another sack hit the eighth registered by the
Jets here, and I like the strategy they've employed.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
They're did a good job on the broadcast.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Each of these pass plays, there's holding or tripping or
all sorts of things, like, hey, they're not gonna call
it every time, so.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Let's just keep at it.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
It's like the old Seahawks defense of the Legion of Boom,
same thing, like, all right, they're not gonna call every
time we beat these guys up on the outside.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Really weird situation here, Third and goal, not fourth in goal,
Third and goal for the Texans again, they're down two scores.
They need a touchdown, two point conversion and a field goal.
On third and goal. They choose the field goal. It's good, fairband,

(22:06):
who's missed two fugles tonight makes it so it's twenty
one thirteen. I get it on fourth down. I get
it on fourth down unless there was something wrong with
the font and the font but you know, third and goal,
you're that close to the end zone. You're five yards away,
like you know, Okay, let's let's try for Let look

(22:27):
with this close here, we have to try one more
play to get in the end zone. Now, I don't
know if the if the thought was, and I'm sure
that's what they thought on the sideline, was Hey, if
we throw it and it's short of the end zone
and we get sacked and we get tackled, it's a
time out where you have to have to bring out
the field goal team anyway, But I still feel like

(22:48):
you're that close, take one more shot at the end zone,
because then you need to on sidekick and just a
field goal. So it's you're that close. It was a
fourth and thirteen fourth down, I get it, But on
third down you kick?

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Really Yeah, the curreuriosity of the sequencing, the play calling,
as I mentioned with slowick going before, and now you
get into the decision making with the head coach as
you go for the on side kick, which has been
virtually an impossibility over the course of the season. I
think maybe emboldened by Jayden Daniels hey CJ. Stroud, he

(23:19):
doesn't have the same rib injuries. He's gonna be able
to chuck the ball if we're able to get this
on side kick, and then we still have to get
the two point play, but he can chuck it that far.
Take the points, leave the time on the clock, leave
yourself that last time out. All of that comes into play,
I guess, But it's a moot point. As Devonte Adams

(23:39):
falls on it.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
The on side kick goes to the Jets. Yes, Davonte,
He and Garrett Wilson have a big night each tonight.
So now the Jets will kneel on the football once
and they will win their first game in the last
five weeks. They will now be three and six as
the Texans fall to six and three. Twenty one to

(24:00):
thirteen is going to be your final score. I can't
wait for the Aaron Rodgers middle finger press conference after this.
I told you, I told you we got more coming
up in ninety seconds. But first scusial delivery. Steve Desager
has what's trending in the wide world of sports. Wow, Steve,
you gotta give some score from tonight, not just the
path of the Dodgers parade tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
Just a little stunned like you that this turned out
this way, because for those of us who stuck through
the first half, they were down seven to nothing at
the break to the Texans, and deservedly so. I might
add Aaron Rodgers gets credit for three touchdown passes in
the second half and twenty one to thirteen Jets. The
final one of those TV catches an absolute gem from

(24:43):
Garrett Wilson to give them the lead early fourth quarter
twenty six yard reception. Garrett Wilson with nine catches for
ninety yards.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Two of the tds.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
DeVante Adams was evaluated for concussion second half, came back
and had a touchdown catch of thirty seven yards. Adams
seven reception ninety one yards in the loss. Well on
the ground. Joe Mixon twenty four carries, one oh six
on the ground and a touchdown, but the Jets defense
had eight sacks against C. J. Stroud and twenty one

(25:12):
to thirteen. Jets is the final. They end a five
game losing streak. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice again.
He's had back in knee problems. Jackson is the AFC's
Offensive Player of the Month. Jared Goff won the NFC Award. Goff,
the Detroit quarterback, returned to practice today after an ankle injury.
Lions at Packers Sunday on Fox TV. Green Bay quarterback

(25:33):
Jordan Love returned to limited practice after the groin injury.
Packers running back Josh Jacobs was limited with an ankle injury.
Patriots quarterback Drake May was limited again due to his concussion.
Washington quarterback Jaden Daniels was limited with a rib injury.
The Giants say running back Tyrone Tracy is trending toward
being able to play Sunday after a concussion. He was

(25:54):
limited today. We had mentioned on Monday Show then in
the last five years, the Jets had one of the
worst trimetime records in the NFL two and fourteen, but
they get a primetime win tonight.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
That three and fourteen.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
I meanwhile, the Giants two and eighteen in primetime over
these last five years. Well, San Antonio and the NBA
got to win at Utah one oh six eighty eight.
How many guys in the NBA in the last thirty
years have had the night that Victor wimb and Yama
had tonight, scoring at least twenty five points, five rebounds,
five assists, five blocks, five steals. The answer is no

(26:31):
other NBA players in the last thirty years. Now, He's
done it twice already in his young career.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Big Bodega didn't do that last night.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Come on, wait, wait, who is that stat by? Because
baseball's over? Does that mean stats inc? That's not Cargo Illinois.
It's not a Sarah langstats No.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Yes, she has waived her goodbye on her Twitter feed
or whatever we're calling it these days. San Antonio one
at Utah one o six eighty eight, and the Utah Jazz,
who committed twenty six turnovers, are now five on the
young season. Houston won at Dallas one eight one oh two.
Memphis led Milwaukee at the half, seventy to forty eight.

(27:08):
Memphis wins IT one twenty two to ninety nine. John
Morana triple double including fourteen assists, and the late games
in La late first half Clippers are leading Phoenix sixty
six to fifty one. James Harden already thirteen points, eight
rebounds and ten assists. Orlando star Polo ban Caro has
a torn o bleak. He'll be reevaluated in four to

(27:29):
six weeks. Among the seven NHL games, Washington a six
to three winner against Montreal, Carolina eight two over Boston.
Bob Costas is retiring from baseball play by play after
over forty years. The Braves traded DH Jrges Solair to
the Angels. The Dodgers victory parade is tomorrow through downtown La.
Then there's a ticketed celebration at their stadium. And by

(27:51):
the way, The La Times reports tonight that the average
viewership for the World Series well compare it to the
NBA Finals this past year. NBA Finals about eleven million
viewers average, This World Series over fifteen and a half million,
and the clincher Game five in New York last night
over eighteen and a half million viewers. The Yankee win
the night before outdrew every other baseball telecast of the

(28:15):
last five years, so predictably great numbers and a lot
of suspense and excitement for the including that fifth inning.
I still don't know what that was at Yankee Stadium yesterday,
but New York LA it delivered back to you.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Thank you, Steve. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon
Live from the Tirerack dot Com Studios. The Jets win
in a game that doesn't make any sense, but it's
perfect that it takes place on Halloween. Coming up next,
Jay Glazer stops by all the latest news in the NFL.
Can the Jets win out? The Texans have problems? What

(28:49):
about the big games of the week coming up?

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Jay Glazer always a must listen. That's next, Jason and
Mike Fox.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith's
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best friend
Mike Harmon, Live from Thetirack dot Com Studios. The Jets
win a game that well, not a lot of people
thought they would, but they do. It looks like a
big night from Aaron Rodgers, a huge night from Garrett Wilson,
Davante Adams, nobody better to break it all down NFL

(29:26):
on Fox Insider Extraordinay Jay Glazer, You're gonna fallm on
Twitter at Jay Glazer. Jay, what's happening, Buddy? Happy Halloween?

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yeah? Man, how you guys doing?

Speaker 1 (29:34):
What's up? Buddy? Well, I'm happy the Jets won. I mean,
come on, of course I'm happy tonight.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
I have too. I agree with you, man, it's you know,
it's also look, I know you guys talking about Aaron,
but the first time fore, yeah, that was scary. And
but it's good to see that defense because that's really
I've always fold like the strength of the team really
with more than defense because some of the guys they
have over there, and between Jeff Folbrook when he was
able to do with and I know they're looking like

(30:01):
sala and it's a defensive coach, but Olbert got a
lot to do with that defense. I'm glad that, you know,
he was able to really kind of put forth the effort.
And I think I think people kind of minimize of Hey,
when a guy's a defense coordinator and all of a
sudden he's a head coach, and you kind of got
spread saying a little bit how much it does take
away from you until you can kind of get settled down.

(30:23):
And I'm glad to see they were able to kind
of get their their barons under them with that side
of the.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Ball, you know. And it's funny because I you know,
you talked about Jeff Ulbrick last week. I've been telling
everybody Jay Glazer told me he's a Sean McVeigh the
defensive coaches man, it's gonna be great. And I wanted
to throw this by you watching Garrett Wilson and that
catch that he made tonight. And you know, when you
do it on a nationally televised game, people see you differently.
I see him as a guy that if you got
him in an unbreakable and you got in a session

(30:48):
with him, you wouldn't be able to lay a hand
on him. His body controlled, he would. You would just
be swinging at air the entire time.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
With Garrett Wilson, Don't be ridiculous, don't be ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Come on, come on, look he's trying to do that.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
I say, what he's trying to do? We we we
smother you and unbreakable. As athletic as you are, we
take away all your athleticism. Man, I'm freaking five ft six.
I make sure you got no to me.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Hey, we're putting Smith in the uh in the chamber
with you there, Jay. As we go on the Houston
side of things, right, they take the loss. We talk
about all the sacks for the Jets anything with the
trade trade deadline coming forward, and they lose.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
To Von Diggs. Any help coming to that squad.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
The problem is there's not a lot of great help
out there and everybody. You know, I've been talking a
lot of teams this week and it's like, man, there's
no like Christian McCaffrey trade this time. There's no Von
Miller trade. There's no you know, Denver the truck, there's
no Jalen Ramsey likes just not. There's not those names
and come like why not. They're like, I don't know,

(32:00):
there's not a lot of guys that are like contracts up.
And besides, like Advanta Adams, which has already happened, there's
just not a lot of those big names that are
they're gonna be out there. There's kind of you know,
mid level low level guys that aren't going to really
provide a lot of juice to a lot of teams.
I know people will going, oh, Cooper Cup. Listen, the

(32:22):
Steelers and somebody else called about Cooper Cup, that the
Rams are not called around trying to trade Cooper Cup.
And suddenly it just took off like a life of
its own, like it was reversed. But I'm telling you
the way it went it was teams calling them and
then try to act like and I think what happened
is when teams try and call a team to try
and trade for a guy and the team doesn't want
to do it, they start getting it out there. It

(32:43):
almost put pressure on that team to try to make
a move. And that's you know, there's not going to
be you know those names.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Jake Lazier with Us, the Jason Smiths with Mike Carmon
LIFROTHETIREC dot Com Studios. All right, Jay, one of the
other big stories this week, you know, we watched the
Cult say they're going to Joe Flacco in perpetuity. He
gives him the best chance to win. Obviously. The Anthony
Richardson play on Sunday, when he comes out of the
game because he was tired. It's been a big point
of emphasis. What what what did you see seeing that

(33:13):
here's Richardson coming out of the game because he was tired.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
Okay, I mean, I know the Family Show, so I'm
gonna try and curb but myself a little bit. But yeah,
as you know, I mean, I've been on the show
with you guys for twenty years, twenty one years, right,
and you know I started training football players and fighters
in a specific way, our unbreakable mindset in two thousand

(33:40):
and seven. Our entire thought process and our entire system was, Madam,
we are going to be relentless of how we train you.
We're going to make football easy as far as like
we're fighting. We're going to train you and grind you
so hard where your sport is easy. So we're going
to put you through four five minute rounds with us

(34:02):
and take one minute break. If you can do that
with us, you dance her could do a seven second
round more a one minute break in football. But at
the same time, if we're hurt and tired, you will
never ever, ever ever know. I will never give you
that satisfaction of knowing that I'm hurt or tired. Our
fighters are not allowed to take stools in between rounds.

(34:23):
I don't want you to sit there and see our guys.
And I say fighters, whether it's a Randy Gator or
a Layton Johnson or an Andrew Whitworth for all these
guys and never wants them. It looks across that change,
across that field can throw their hands on our hipson.
Oh I'm breaking that guy in said, I want them
to look at Elaine Johnson going why does this guy
never get tired? Why is this guy never hurt? How

(34:44):
could this be are retired? Yeah, I will never let
you know. I have a guy actually come out and
say on a running play, oh I had to top
out because I was tired. If that's my teammate, man,
like literally Randy Gatoua, I started this program rent in
two thousand and seven. I'll be yesterday like breaking out

(35:05):
Pibes over it, and we were on a text of
v him at lighton dropping about it. But we were
melting down because it's just unacceptable. But it's also that's
one of my teammates. You better be putting in more
work than everybody else, like I expect you to put
in at work especially if you're my leader and your captain.
Not acceptable. So is this a death? Not this It
doesn't have to be. But if I'm Anthony Richardson, I'm like, man,

(35:27):
it's a teachable moment. I will never let that happen again.
I will never show anybody I'm tired. I will never
show anybody hurt.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
By the way, but my.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Mental health stuff is complete opposite, Like you need that
mentality in a cage, run a field, But yeah, show
people you're hurting and tired. But it's completely different when
you're talking about combat sports. It's just not acceptable. If
I'm him, like, you're only allowed to be the facility,
certain number of hours a day allowed to be. If
I'm Him, man, i am there, I'm sleeping there, I'm

(35:57):
there five o'clock in the morning. I'll leave it at
ten o'clock and I'm going to show these guys you'll
never have to worry about me ever being tired ever again.
And if meet being tired is like one of my problems,
it's a kryptonize for me. I'm gonna make sure it's not.
I'm gonna turn it into my superpower or I'm gonna
work the world it's just not acceptable. So it's yeah,
it's yeah. I had a hard time with that.

Speaker 6 (36:17):
Yeah, you just know.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Also, Jay, the other part is it's not like he
was lighting it up. So when you're two of sixteen and.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
You tap out, it was tired on a handoff, right,
So what that says to me is, man, you're not
doing it. So again, like we work with Tom Brady,
I'm gonna talk a lot. I love learning from Tom,
and Tom's like, I'm not tall to anybody else. I'm
not working everybody by a lot in training, recovery, sleeping,

(36:45):
eating everything that. You know what, Man, it really sucks.
Like it's like putting that work in. It's hard, but
you know it sucks way more. Is not freaking winning.
That talks way more not acceptable.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Now, Jay, we got a couple of minutes left here
and then, you know, speaking of Unbreakable, you had a
great guess this week. You had Rathael Levado Junior on
you know listen you said he's one of the best
guests you've ever had on the podcast. What was this
week like with it?

Speaker 4 (37:15):
Yeah, especially look like we're all talking about the two
of stuff, right and rolff out of Junior, I was
broadcasting his title fight from Belisour a couple of years ago,
Midway Championship of the World, and he gets basically a
call before that fight where he has a brain condition
and he's not able to get cleared for here he

(37:38):
is like the biggest moment of his life. He finally
ends up getting cleared just for the fight. It wins
the world championship, and then shortly after it's told you
can never fight again. It's done, is over because you
have this brain condition that basically you have extra blood
vessels and if they burst or pops, you can be

(37:59):
looking at paralysis's everything and man, all of a sudden,
you talking about going for the top of everything you've
worked for, for your dream and it gets ripped from
you shortly after and for him to somehow reconcile with it,
where he made a blessing. He is the most unbreakable

(38:21):
Dode ever been around my life. And you talked him
out and he just won the world again and he's
doing you know, submission fighting and ju jitsu, which is
there's no strikes, and he ended up having one more
fight in Japan and was able to kind of go
out in his own terms, but imagine that. Guys, you
work so hard. It's you know, hey, you work so
hard you win a super Bowl, then two days later,

(38:42):
by the way, you're never going to play it her
again is what it basically was. And he's not well
with me. He doesn't never city parties. He is as
unbreakable as they saw. Man. You got to know such
an inspiring guy.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Unbreakable A Mental Wealth podcast. Get the link on Jay's
Twitter page at Jay Glazer again phenomenal this week, Rafaelevado Junior.
Jay has always buddy, appreciate him mine and be good.
We'll talk to you Jet stuff there from Jay Glazer.
How about that stuff on Anthony richardson my goolex level.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
What we've been talking to him about unbreakable forever, right,
And that's the whole thing is to get past those boundaries.
So certainly I can imagine what those conference calls sounded like.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Always a great visit with Jay. We have more big
NFL coming up next. Was tonight a season turning win
for NFL team. Maybe it's not the Jets, spoiler, it's
the Jets
