Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Hello, Welcome in side hour to the Jason Smith Show
with my bas friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Well dressed cobot live from the.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Fox Sports Radio studios. You got Jason Cole coming up
about twenty minutes, all the latest news from the NFL,
including parently the Jalen Hurt teammates can't stand up but
hey why not? But look this real quick from the
NBA before we get into that Aaron Rodgers story. Uh,
Steve Kurt Tonight Warriors resting both Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Uh,
(01:01):
he's you know this on the heels of him saying
the NBA season is too long. It's you know, it's
something needs to be shortened. They lose a night to
the heat without them one ten to ninety six and Look,
we've said it for years. The NBA season is too long.
It is way too long. And now Steve Kerr is
sort of not just step to the forefront of this.
(01:21):
He is now resting guys, and I don't I think
you can draw a straight line between Steve Kerr saying
the season is too long and I'm gonna rest Stephan
and Draymond because I want to. It's on the road
against the heat, and I'm gonna sit them because the
season is too long and the wear and tear is
too much. And he's now stood up and made it
a thing. And now it's become a Steve Kerr NBA
(01:44):
situation in which hey, uh Steve, or these guys healthy. Ah,
they were dinged up. They were here because you could
see you're gonna wind up seeing a big fine coming.
See he's gonna get fine come in the Warriors way.
But Steve Kerr doesn't care. And I'm glad he stands
up and he says, screw it, I don't care. I'll
be the guy to really push this to the forefront
because it is. It's been. It's ridiculous the last few
(02:06):
years that you're seeing players when you get you know,
you have to put in the games played a level
to get to to to qualify for postseason awards, right,
but it really doesn't matter. Stars are playing less and less.
If Stars play sixty five out of eighty two games,
that's a lot, which oh my god, you can you're
talking about it like it's almost a quarter of the
(02:26):
season that you're saying, is okay for these guys to miss?
But this is what's happening, and the NBA has to
do something right. I know Adam Silver doesn't want to
do anything, but he wants to make sure the players
are happy. It's going to be messy, and it's not
an overnight thing. It'll be kind of like a college
football playoff situation. But in the next three to five years,
(02:49):
the NBA will cut the regular season schedule. They'll cut
it from say eighty two games to seventy five games.
They'll get rid of back to backs, and you know,
and and and there's going to be kind of a
make good from the players that Okay, these guys are
going to play in these games and they'll find a
way to make the money back because each team now
would lose three regular season games, the gate from three
(03:10):
home games but they'll figure out a way to make
the money work. I don't think that that's too big
a thing, because the one league where you are seeing
there being an atrophying in players playing and stars staying
healthy has been the NBA. You don't want them hurting
the postseason, you don't want the wear and tear to
really get to them. So next three to five years
(03:30):
they will figure out a way to cut the season
from say eighty two to seventy five games. Yeah simping.
We hit on you and I last week and then
Rich and I as Lebron got back on the court.
A godsend for the NBA yesterday because it helped distract
from the messaging and all of the news reports of
all these guys out with injuries, from Jannis and the
(03:52):
groin injury to the laundry list of guys now sidelined
for weeks at a time with calf injuries, including the
biggest star on the rise, your guy, wem Bin Yama.
I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't putting a proposal.
And he only needs to play like thirty games to
win MVP, right, right, right, We can do this, but
you have three more years before they can opt out
(04:14):
and re up the CBA. But I gotta imagine there's
a lot of phone calls off of this, and for
Steve Kerr, Look, he's a guy that has shown time
and time again he's not afraid to speak his mind
on any number of issues inside and outside the world
of basketball, and certainly picking up for his players. The
elder states from in the here Draymond with his bit
(04:36):
of controversy after responding and going after the guy that
was calling him Angel Reese the other day. So you
got that. That that in the backdrop to it all.
He was warned, he got no fine, he didn't get suspended. No, no, no,
just don't do that, Draymond. Okay, great, regardless of your
history and how many other issues you've had with the league,
you know what, it's okay to go in a cost
(04:57):
a fan like that. I think I think Draymond eventually
is going to act. You know, he's gonna he's gonna
take this to heart and is gonna start rebounding his
own misses on purpose and putting them up in missing
so we can get me bounds my Life's gonna start
doing that just to troll the fans and think that
he goes and has like a twenty five rebound game
a couple couple of nights in a week and just
kind of smiles at you, and then he takes the
(05:19):
next one off for load management because I mean, look,
I can't all those rebounds. I'm exhausted. I just keep
reaching up and getting him and puting up that my
arms are tired. I need to break Steve. That's stress
on my legs is gonna cause one of these calf injuries.
So I'm gonna sit down. But yeah, for Steve Kurda
to post this, you know, to have his big talking points, Yester,
(05:39):
then that immediately on the road when you've sucked because
the Warrior has been awful. Well, I mean like the
Knicks away from home and it just doesn't work, doesn't work.
I mean they're all so we just call them all Dorothy.
That's it. There's no place like home. There's no place
like home, and you don't play him the next night. Yeah,
for Adam Silver, he's already looking at all the injury reports, going,
(06:02):
ah crap. We're coming into holidays and a bunch of
these stars aren't gonna be available for these marquee matchups.
Oh and now Steve's gonna go do this. Thanks Steve.
Yeah yeah, stay with Steve. Steve, Steve Steve. Uh So
a lot more NBA on the way. Uh yeah, We
got Rick Buker coming up next hour on the show.
See what he thinks about that. But uh, this is
(06:24):
this story is way more concerning than it seems. Aaron
Rodgers says he's gonna try to come back to practice
tomorrow for the Steelers, this after he sidelined with a
fracture his left wrist. Now he got hurt against the Bengals.
Obviously he missed the end of it. Mason Rudolph played
was able to finish off the win. Rogers said today
(06:45):
that while it feels better than it did Sunday, he's
trying to get back on the field. See what he
can do to play against the Bears this Sunday. Well,
of course, play he owns the Bears. I want to
play against a team I own. Rogers says he has
to be able to protect himself. Quote, it's a safety thing,
not about playing through pain, but a safety situation. I
(07:07):
have to be able to protect myself. Now on the surface,
you see this ago, well, of course, yeah, you know,
players got to be able to protect himself. But I
see this, and I know the Aaron Rodgers that I
have seen the last three years, and if protecting himself
is at the forefront of his mind, well you're better
off with Mason Rue. You're better off with Maya Rudolph
at quarterback than than Aaron Rodgers, because what I have
(07:30):
seen from him the last three years, he is not
someone who will stand in there and take a hit anymore.
He's not the same guy. He is very skittish in
the pocket, and you see his bad plays, a lot
of his bad throws. And he started to do it
now because what do we say from the beginning of
the season, first half of the year will be fine,
but then the season gets on, more wear and tear,
(07:51):
the more hits he takes, he's going to suddenly you'll
see a sharp downtick in his status and is playing
and is playing level because he's someone that will throw
the ball away early rather than risk standing in there
and getting hit. Right, how many times did you see it?
You know, the last couple of weeks where he throws
some kind of back shoulder fade to DK Metcalf, who
(08:12):
has even turned around. Yet it's like, oh okay, it's
Aaron Rodgers. Gives away free downs when someone is breaking
through or he feels the pressure and I'm just gonna
throw the ball away early like he does that now.
I've seen him do it with the Jets for the
last couple of years. Now he's starting to do it
with the Steelers when the hits pile up a little
bit the season gets longer. He is not someone that's
gonna stand in that pocket and deliver the football. He's not.
(08:34):
He's also not gonna throw it down feeld like he
used to because he can't. He's not the same guy.
He's just trying to go out on the highest note possible.
And if already that's Aaron Rodgers and you see him
throw the football because hey, things are getting a little
too hectic near the pocket, I'm not gonna stand in there.
If that's Aaron Rodgers normally, then what's Aaron Rodgers gonna
be when he's worried about protecting himself. Man, he's gonna
(08:56):
take a snap, it's gonna be a one step drop
and I'm throwing the ball out of bounds. Going to
get rid of it. You gotta turn around faster, dude,
I gotta run more than a step. I can't just
turn right around all right. Everything is gonna be a
wide receiver screen every plays. Well, so you can just
turn around right away. I can throw it to you
like that's That's really the reality for Aaron Rodgers is
that he's that kind of Hey, I don't want to
get hit and I'm skittish, and I'm gonna throw the
(09:17):
football early. Now he's thinking about it. Yeah, you want
Mason Rudolph out there, you want anybody else out there,
because it's not gonna go well. It is not going
to be a big day for Aaron Rodgers, and you
got you gotta wait till get him back where he's
not thinking about it, and you just get the best
possible version of him down the stretch. Not gonna be
a great version, but you want the best possible version.
You're not getting that this Sunday, no way. Yeah. I
(09:39):
look at it from the perspective of Aaron Rodgers just
said what he's been doing for three years. I don't
think he was addressing the risks specifically. I think he's
just like, Hey, this is really what I've been doing
all along. You guys can be ascribe it to the wrist.
That's great. Like I've been doing the two point three
seconds or less for a long long time, like just
(10:02):
in researching a little of how he's operated, right and
watching as we do. And I have the luxury on
Sunday mornings of going off the mind of NFL films
in Greg Gosell about how fast he gets rid of
the ball, which is good and bad. Right, get a
play in motion, get it moving. But if you're trying
to maximize what you have in a guy like DK Metcalf,
(10:24):
guess what that ain't happening. That's not his game, right.
He wants to work against a corner downfield, create separation,
all that stuff. Well, you're not allowing that to develop.
Part of that offensive line. Part of that your lack
of trust sometimes in your run game. Although both those
guys have acquitted themselves pretty nicely as receivers. But your
(10:47):
most effective players are your tight ends. Against the Bears,
you'll be able to move the football assuming he does go.
And he had that little kid's gleam in his eyes.
He was talking about this match. Ye, So I don't
think there's any chance in hell he's not on the field.
I agree with you that it's portends to potential chaos
(11:08):
if the Bears can get home. But we'll see if
he can go sub two seconds, which I think would
be an NFL record. Dude, I don't think you need
to get home getting out. You just need to get
near him. You need to get near him and yell
sack like Max Crosby likes to do, and all the
joint practice in the summer when they say we're not
going to touch the quarterback, but Max Crosby yell sack
(11:29):
when he gets close to feel like he blows up
the play. You just need guys to get close and
Aaron Rodger will throw the football away come close from
yell sack and he would feel throw it. Well, okay, okay, okay,
that's it. Plays over. How many times do you think
those guys yell sack just for giggles. I'm just taking
credit for it. Now. You really weren't anywhere near me,
pal go go beat it. And when we look at
(11:51):
the Bears in terms of their pressure rate, they're in
the lower third of the league. They've got twenty one
sacks on the year. And we've talked about the opportunistic
nature of the defense, great turnover execution, right Ballhawks had
getting after it with what they've done in the secondary
(12:11):
has just been absolutely fantastic. But it's you know what
Al Harris has brought to it. You remember Al Harris
who is a teammate of Aaron Rodgers al those years ago.
But you're looking at the fact that they will allow
you to move the football. So for the Steelers, yeah,
(12:32):
I think Rogers gives you an edge over good old
Mason Rudolph, although I don't think it's very very high.
I don't know, man, Look, Mason Rudolph is a terrific
backup quarterback, right like when you have somebody that, hey,
he might need to play for a week or two. Yeah,
Mason Rudolph has proven I'm pretty good. Now. There's a
reason why guys are backups, and it's about sustaining things
(12:53):
over the long haul. And you know, Nick Foles rooted
it for everybody by coming off the bench and winning
the Super Bowl. So every oh, you're backup quarterback should
be able taking the Super Bowl. Thanks Nick, appreciate it.
But I think for Mason Rudolph, for a couple of games,
he'll be fine. Right. He let him on a big
drive at the end, uh, you know, when when he
had to command when they needed it. The two drives
he had on Sunday were both long drives for the
for the Steelers. So I think he'll be fine for
(13:15):
another week. I think you make up, you'll get a
much better game out of Mason Rudolph than you get
out of Aaron Rodgers, because you start up, you're stuck
because you can't bench Aaron Rodgers. So if you started
me and he's terrible, you're stuck, man. So I think you.
I think it's the I think it's the Mason Rudolph Show.
One more week is much much better succeed Give you
one little clip from Mike Tomlin that'll get you excited. Sure,
(13:35):
go ahead, quote, we'll see, We'll see where the week goes.
Will Howard's been with us the whole time, and so
he's a sharp guy. I like the general trajectory of
his work. He's certainly in the position that he's in
doesn't get a lot of Steelers reps, but the reps
that he does get he's taken advantage of. And I'm
sure there will be an uptick in those opportunities this week.
(13:58):
You know, big Will Howard. What did I say? What
was my big bold prediction. I'm hot on bold predictions,
man I said in the preseason Will Howard will be
starting for the Steelers by December. I'm feeling close to
that right now, Mike Harmon, I am feeling close to that.
It's almost December. We're almost at Will Howard time. Well
as the Great Country Philosophers said, if we make it
(14:23):
through December, everything's gonna be all right. I know, a
little Merle Haggard for you here on a Beutifol Wednesday night.
But it is curious because they are still in the
playoff picture, as awful as it may seem week to week,
the AFC certainly providing plenty of opportunities, and based on
all the reports, I think if you put up the
(14:44):
wacky Doctors game operation, there's a lot of red marks
on Labar Jackson right now as to what's going on
with him physically, Like we talk with Jason lockinfora a
little bit on Monday, being entertained a little bit more
in press conferences this week. So the door is still
open for these Steelers to walk through this division, which
(15:04):
is just maddening exit out about a Fresca exit swollen
dome the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harbon.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Now, just to want to throw this out because this
just happened. I'm sure there's gonna wind up being a
viral highlight for tomorrow. Uh. The Mavericks lead the Knicks
fifty nine to fifty eight. Midway through the third quarter,
Josh Hart nearly picked off a pass that the Mavericks
through down court, ball goes out of bounds. Josh Hart
goes into the crowd and and and you know he
he gets into a fan like they collide the camp scannabo. No, no,
(15:37):
not camp scataboo. Did no one yelled go birds? Uh,
so we call. He collides with a fan who's standing
there and it's a guy, he's probably about sixty and
he's standing there and he's got this this box of
peanut eminem's in his hand, and say so we saved
the pea eminem's. Josh Hart asks him for one. The
guy gives him a couple of peena ms. Josh Hart
eats them. Walking back out. Humph, Look that's fantastic. There
(15:59):
you go. That's your fuel for the fourth Quarner he's
gonna have a massive fourth quarter and get an endorsement.
Hey man, he's gonna be like, guys, literally feed me.
Come on. Yeah, And that's a box of eminems you
want to put on eBay that Knicks some Nick fanlo,
some Knicks fan will spend one hundred dollars to buy that.
I guarantee you absolutely, Yeah, that's that's a couple hundred dollars, right,
and get him to sign the box on the way
(16:21):
out of the arena. Coming up next, we go through
the biggest stories in the NFL and the NFL insider
Jason Cole Sanders is gonna start. Is Jalen Hurts really
hated as Joe Burrow coming back? All that more? Next
right here, Jason to Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven

over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber Liam and me.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk

continue on our after show called over Promised.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by

There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with
Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with My Best
Friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Damn Son, Where'd you find this?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
For over forty years, tyre Rack's been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Shipped fast and free backed by free Road, has protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire ac
dot Com is the way tire buying should be. So
we got more NBA on the way. But right now
it's time to break down all the latest news in
(18:18):
the NFL. Shadora Sanders will start. Maybe everybody hates Jalen Hurts.
Maybe Joe Burrow's gonna come back with us now in
the hot line. Nobody better and longtime NFL insider. You
can see his work right now in thirty third Team.
He is a Hall of very good voter. He is
on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. It is Jason Cole.
(18:41):
What's happening?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Man?
Speaker 1 (18:41):
How are you? Oh?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
They got a lot of nice girls. There we go, there,
it is there, it is, there we go.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
You know, there's some people that probably don't say there's
some people that probably don't know the lyrics and like
what is he talk?
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Now I got okay, birthday, Thank you very much, thank
you very much. I am celebrating today by being officially
three fifths of the way to my Browns. Will start.
Five guys a quarterback prediction that.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Bottle of Scotch that you take because every week as
a jet stamp, and we even have the order.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Right so far, j Cole, I said Flacco to Gabriel
to Sanders. Now the next two or tough, but so far,
five guys, Week.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Twelve, you got the way there with Sanders. I mean,
I just say this. We talked about the Baltimore defense
earlier in the year and how sad they were when
went into the game. It was like each one of
them was looking going, I'll raise him who gets to
(19:59):
him first? Ten bucks? Says I get some first, like
they could. They couldn't wait to take their shots. That's Sanders.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Wait wait, wait what football was that way that buys it?
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Like, no, no, man, it's mine. It's my turn, man,
my turn.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
I'm asking you a question. I'm going I'm I'm I'm
playing off of what you said, because I want to
say is what was the football movie where the guys
from how do they go? All right, let's get us
meet you at the quarterback on three like that's what
I'm thinking is going on in one meet at the
quarterback on three.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Okay, that was so funny, like fans who are getting
really really excited, and it's like, oh no, the Ravens
defense is way more excited even than the clans.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
At least tries to throw the ball down field though jacoble.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Well, I mean to I'm dying. Gabriel can't see over
I'm not sure you can see over a fire hydrant.
I mean it's I mean, you know, lots of the
kids hard, but he's five foot nothing. He looks I mean,
he makes he makes Doug Flutie look like a giant
(21:17):
in the pocket.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
So you know, I just like like stop it with this,
Like you know, the mini means at quarterback just don't work.
I mean, you know, you have to be an incredibly
special talent. You know, you have to be really fast
and you have to be really strong, and Dylan Gabriel
(21:40):
is not really either one. I mean, I know, he
had a great solige career and I give a kid
a lot of credit, but he's now in officially over
his head. But that just means that both officially and
over their head. The Sugar Sanders was baffled by the
speed of the game. I think he was out right
baffled by it, and I know that. I mean he's
(22:07):
Let me just say this about Shador Sanders fans, they
are almost as out of control as Tim Tebow fans.
At the height at the height, at the height of
te Bomnia. It's like, oh no, he didn't get to
practice for the ones. He's been playing football for his
entire life. He's you know, his dad's a Hall of Famer.
(22:30):
He should know something about the speed of how the
NFL plays. He's been around NFL players his entire life,
Like he should know some of this and be ready
for it. I mean he was. It was stunning how
much faster the game was than he could comprehend it
(22:50):
that day. Now things could change, and I hope they do.
I have nothing against Shadur Sanders, like I hope he's
a great player, But on that first day, that was
really ugly, and you could tell by the way the
Ravens reacted to it that's exactly what they expected.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
What's the over undround quarterback hits administered by Max Crosby this.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Week twenty three and a half.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Wow, the straight hand sack record could go down in
one week.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Absolutely. If you just need Brett Favre to take to
take a dive for him, there we go.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
And then Mark as no to yell at Brett Fahr
for taking a dive and taking a sack ride.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
Yeah, that's that's classic guess in omania. That's just what
you need to know about the Jets. Okay, but no,
I mean it's just going to be It's gonna be bad.
I mean, the four MP parts are playing, you know,
playing the Raiders is like it's like a battle of
JV games at this point.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Well, you gotta the game.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
The game. This is a game that starts at four
o'clock on Friday before the seven thirty game.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Yeah, but you promote this one. This might be the
first one ever promoted by putting pictures up of two.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Pass rushers exactly. Yeah, Garrett versus Crosby watching now, Yeah,
because both quarterbacks are going to get sacked forty seven times.
I mean it's yeah, like again, this game should be played.
I'm saying it right now. Friday Friday at four pm.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Is where you're have to say. I have to leave
work early. They made my son's game at four o'clock today,
I don't know. I gotta leave at three, So.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
I read it there, Missus Crosby, do you need a
little extra time? Ye? Are you? Are you riding over
with missus Garrett?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Well, so now I'm thinking of missus Garrett from the
Facts of Life's right up, riding over with Charlotte Ray.
You know, I was thinking about you today because you
referenced it last week with us when we were talking
about the Eagles and how they thrive in controversy, and
you were like, wow, you know how they're so dysfunctional
(25:19):
and they can win and everybody, you know, no one's
a big fan of the quarterback. And sure enough, today
we find out that there's a report from the Athletic
that Eagles players are unhappy with Jalen Hurts because he
doesn't follow the game plan. He does his own thing
on Sunday. And now this is what the Eagles are
dealing with going into the Cowboys game.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Upset with Jalen for a lot of reasons for a
couple of years, because Jalen kind of operates to you know,
the bag of his own drummer. He's not he's not
a great team guy. I mean that's what you hear
when you talk to enough people around the team that's said,
(26:00):
like he's performed great. You know, whether they won twenty
one of their last twenty six or twenty two of
their last twenty six, I mean like they're kind of good,
and then's the best team in football. I think the
problem that you have with the Eagles right now, which
is why some of the stuff is coming out, is
that over the last two years they've lost two really
(26:23):
great leaders in Kelsey the Fletcher Cox, who were the
guys who could walk into a room and go, that's enough,
shut it down. Like That's one of the reasons they
brought Graham back is they needed an older presence. You know,
they're to somebody who could calm everybody down a little bit. Now,
(26:44):
the best leader in that team, at least from a
playing standpoint, the best player is is Jalen Carter. And
that's a guy who you know, you don't know. You
don't know if he's going to get kicked out of
the game in the first play or do something do
something else that's stupid that might get him take that
out of a game, or if he's going to have
(27:04):
four sacks and look like the second coming of Warren Sap.
I mean, he can do either one and any given week.
So they're missing key guys to take the pressure off
of a guy like Jalen Hurts, or at least help
cover up what Jalen Hurts doesn't do very well and
keep guys like aj Brown from mouthing off, and keep
(27:28):
other guys from mouthing off, you know, behind closed doors
or at least off the record. So but this has
been this, this has been the issue that has been
bubbling for a couple of years. The winning has covered
it up, and right now, not even the winning is
covering it up right now because they're not playing very well.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Jason Cole, I guess Jason Smith showed me Mike Harman
at Jason Coles sixty two, where you find him thirty
third team Hall of Fame voter and of course the
author of many a book you can order for your
gifts for this holiday season. You can find those on
Amazon uh and and help out there certainly plenty.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Of the best one. The best one, shut Up Your
Kids Not that great book is awesome, but the people
love to shut Up your Kid's not that great. They
really do love it and people love.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
To hear that, you know, it's really really resonates.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Well, it's it's a gift you should give to some
of your friends. Let's just put it that way.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
I might. I might just walk up and down the
sidelines doing that. Sure, that'll make me even more popular.
All right, Jacole, are you burying the Chiefs yet?
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Uh? Quarterbacks? Pound good? Right? Yeah, that's pretty good. That's
pretty good, right, I give them a chance. I'll hang
with them for a little while. The division's got to
read probably, but yeah, it's gotta go on a little
bit of hot stake here. The biggest problem that to
(29:08):
have is nothing is easy right now for them. Offensively.
The run game is not really a threat. You know,
Hunters is essentially them to take us. Just a guy,
Roshie Rice is just a guy. I mean, I just
I can't. You know, earlier this season somebody that was
(29:29):
I was on radio with somebody in Kansas City and
there's like, well, we're getting Rashie Rice back, And I
was like, when did Rashie Rice to come Jerry Rice?
Like what you know, Like he's a good number three
receiver and zager Worthy hasn't really come along enough and
Kelsey's just getting older. It's just whenever I watched him, like,
(29:51):
they don't just like here, here's a snap, ball comes out,
it's easy. It's like Mahomes is looking around, looking around,
looking around, and it looks around some morning, you know,
shovels his feet a little bit and makes something, you know,
look great, and then he's like throwing what he even
one forty yards downfield, and sometimes it works because he's
that good. Sometimes he's still you know point, you know,
(30:15):
like it's just not there. So it's just not They've
got to they've got to make a concerted effort to
get back to where they've got him coming out making
some four throws and having those guys do some work
for him and make the game easier and get running
back who can do some damage because they just don't
(30:36):
have that right now. They have no explosion in their offense.
And that's asides from the fact that how did you
want Taylor still playing? Like I just what's going on there?
Like it's just it's it's it's you know, it's a
penalty every third play. It's just ridiculous to watch. All right,
So I'm done with that, But I still believe in him.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yes, really quick, Joe Burrow practice window is open. Are
we going to see him play? Or the Bengal is
going to say, yeah, I don't know so.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Much kt I hope. So I mean, like the Joe
Flacco story is just kind of cool, and you know,
the Flato is pretty funny. You know, the going to
dinner quote was pretty funny. You know that's made, that's
made for an entertaining year. But god, don't you just
want to see good quarterback? This is where like, this
(31:30):
is where I come back to my comment about shadurras Anders.
When people say, oh, you hate Sandoris Anders. You just
you hate on him and you hate on him. You're
this It's like, no, I'm begging that Udur Sanders be good.
I'm begging him to be good. I'm begging you should
doure work at this, get faster at it, please be
a good quarterback. Because we have lost so many great
(31:53):
quarterbacks in the last five to six years. We need
more quarterbacks. So yes, I'm all about, Yes, get Joe
Burrow out there. I want to see a guy who
really knows how to play the position play the position
because you know we're going to lose Rogers after this
year in all likelihood, and not that he has a
lot left, but at least he's he's more interesting than
(32:16):
watching some of these other guys. I mean, if I
have to, if I have to spend days watching Jackson
Dark hoping that that's going to be good, I mean,
just tear my eyeballs out right now, you know, like,
just just do it. It's just awful.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two, that is,
at Jason Cole sixty two, blinded like Odysseus. He is
asking for.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
If listen to you, there we go get from Adyscius
right into lagrange.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
For sure, full service right here. Take it, everybody. We'll
talk to you next week. Jason Cole. So I'm got
to find out what's trending in the wide role sports
is kind of asking Rich Samini. We're gonna ask Martin Weiss.
He's got what's trending right now.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
Okay, guys, don't run away, because I have a question
for you. You you posed that forty two Cleveland Browns
have started since since nineteen ninety nine? Correct, yes, at quarterback?
All right, So I went crunched the numbers. No, AI,
just me there are five starting quarterbacks that are quarterbacks.
(33:23):
I should say that we'll start on Sunday. Who started
a game for the Cleveland Brown.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
There you go? Nice? Five by started? Yeay, okay, Joe,
most reasons started for to Rod Taylor. Yep, boom boom boo.
Oh boy. Let me see who else will is starting Sunday.
(33:49):
That will be starting, Jamis Winston.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Boom boom boom.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
There you okay, Jamis Winston. Very good, very good. That's three.
We need two more. Jamis will start Sunday. We're with
three out of five. Now we're three out of five.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
There's one big one that you're missing. He ended up
replacing Tyrod Taylor.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Oh, baker May there you go, oh okay, yeah, yeah,
yeah Baker Man.
Speaker 6 (34:14):
And then if you guys got the last one, I'd
be shocked.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Who's starting? Well, it's not Trent dilferd No, it's going
to let me think thng on. It's going to be
starting on sense not RG three. Nope, No, Jacoby boo,
Mike Harmon, Hoy you like that, Mike.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
No, swollen dome.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Swollen dome.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
I'll say, hey, got all that stuff up there, that's
why I'm so swollen.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
I like that. That's way to go.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Good job by you, buddy, all right, celebrate his entire catalog.
Speaker 6 (34:46):
In the NBA, the Pacers got their second wind of
the year, beating the Hornets one twenty seven to one eighteen.
Benet Matherin with a twenty four point twelve rebound double double.
The Houston Rockets approved to ten and three, beating Cleveland
one fourteen to one oh four. Alprinson goon three assists
of a triple double, twenty eight points eleven rebounds. Warriors
fall to the Heat one ten to ninety six. Golden
(35:08):
State rested Draymond and Steph Nuggets beat the Pelicans one
twenty five to one eighteen. Nicole Yogis twenty eight points,
eleven rebounds and twelve assists. Derreck Queen did have thirty
and nine rebounds, but in the trade that the Pelicans
got for him, they gave their first round pick to Atlanta.
Pelicans currently have two wins on the year, off to
a good start. Exact opposite of that, just about the
(35:29):
thunder our fifteen to one. They remained undefeated at home
as they beat the Kings one thirteen to ninety nine.
Shay Gilders Alexander had thirty three. Timberwolves beat the Wizards,
Raptors beat the seventy six ers. Pro Football Talk is
reporting that the Bills are planning on benching key On
Coleman again against the Texans tonight. Six players, including Baker
(35:50):
Mayfield and wide receiver and Mecca and Buka, were limited
at Wednesday's walk through practice for the Buccaneers, they have
an illness running through the locker room. Eagles sent Cam
Jurgens miss Wednesday's practice due to the concussion protocol, and
the Saints relief wide receiver Brandon Cooks after the veteran
asked for that release. Eleventh ranked Alabama in men's college
(36:11):
basketball beat a thrinth Illinois ninety to eighty six. Earlier,
we saw fourth ringth Arizona give thurvring Yukon it's first
loss seventy one to sixty seven, and seventh thrank Michigan
remains undefeated with a eighty six to sixty one win
over Middle Tennessee State. Fellas back to.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
You, thanks amun chummed up. So yeah, as Martin said,
the Bills are going to make another big move benching
Keon Coleman again on Thursday. Ernie Shavers seventies boxing legend
and now twenty twenty five Fantasy Savior likely to see
an uptick in stats. We'll preview TNF coming up next
and tell you what big thing you can expect to
see for Week twelve as it begins tomorrow night. That's next,
(36:51):
Jason to Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
I shnned a rutting baby. Yeah fuck Fox Sports Radio. Yes,
Alex heishert just watched Austin Powers for the first time
a week ago, So yeah, baby, we get half of
the theater. He's been talking like Austin Powers, not Doctor
(37:25):
Evil doing it is Austin Powers. This is our life. Ja.
We take a look at the biggest story of the
NBA coming up in about ten minutes. But tomorrow night,
Thursday Night, Football Week twelve is here. We are getting
(37:48):
the Bills and the Texans. As you heard Martin Weiss
mentioned throughout the night. Tonight, Keon Coleman will be benched
again for the Bills as they get out and try
to win a game against the top defense, one of
the top three defenses in the NFL whatever metric years,
the first or second best defense in the AFC. And
I'll tell you what, Houston is catching Buffalo at the
(38:11):
absolute wrong time. I don't know how much I'm believing
in the Bills because they they just have not been
able to throw down the hammer and show you that
and win games that the way great teams are like,
you kind of just feel like in the AFC you're
waiting for one team to get hot at the end.
You kind of feel like that the way in the
NFC too. Wait, what's that team that's gonna get hot
(38:32):
in December? Then we'll talk about winning. But I'll tell
you one thing. Watch the heater that Josh Allen goes on. Now,
watch the MVP run. He announced it on Sunday with
six touchdowns against Tampa Bay. That game was Josh Allen saying,
it's gotta be me if we're gonna win, I have
to do it right. We spent all this year trying
(38:54):
to figure out the offense, and is Dalton Kinkaid gonna
be the guy that Dalton Kinkaid was hurt? We're gonna
run James Cook a time. Well, some games we can,
some games we can't. Doesn't matter. Josh Allen is realized
this is gonna be me. If we're gonna win, and
you're gonna see a big MVP heater. If you're playing
against him in fantasy playoffs, good luck the rest of
(39:15):
the regular season playoffs, because his heater is gonna start.
It's gonna start tomorrow night against a great defense. He'll
have a big day against it, running the football, throwing it.
He'll jump to being the MVP co favorite. Right now,
he's like fourth best odds to win. But way do
you see the heater he goes on because now they
spent most of the year trying to figure things out,
and instead the Bills are realizing Josh Allen's gonna win
(39:38):
or lose every game for us, and he's gonna start
a run right now. Just watch Harmon's speechless, absolutely dumbfounded,
my guy, Josh Allen. No, we we had the could
de Sac of sports commentary on because oh there's Josh Allen.
(40:02):
There's the Josh Allen we know with the turnovers, six
touchdowns Landers, shut up, just shut up. He's already got
ten rushing touchdowns. He's accounted for twenty eight touchdowns overall.
Big spot here, your guys shavers front and center. No
Kincaid again, he's been ruled out for another week. So
trying to find who will step up in that receiving
(40:25):
corps against Houston. On the outside, it becomes tough. You
can work a little bit over the middle of the
field and you're gonna need a lot of James Cook
to keep things rolling. But I think you're right. You
got a stretch of games here Houston, then at Pittsburgh,
Cincinnati at New England, so another front running squad at
Cleveland Philadelphia, and the Jets at home to finish the season.
(40:48):
Those last two are home games, so opportunity for Josh
Allen to come and take that MVP award. Meanwhile, a
little nod to Davis Mills, who's acquitted himself. Okay, I
mean they're not lighting up the score, but he's been
able to keep Nico Collins fantasy relevant. So yeah, good
a good job for him there. Better late than never
for Davis Mills, who was gonna be the next great
(41:10):
quarterback once upon a time, like three years ago. Hey,
Davis Mills, Now Davis Mills is just a guy. Uh,
He's just a guy. Okay, Yeah he was Okay, turned
the ball over a ton though in those first two
years with Houston, thirty three touchdowns and twenty five interceptions.
But you know what, they liked him enough to keep
him around. Yeah, there's something in that building. Somebody loves him. Yeah,
(41:31):
he's like Jamis Winston man, he's awesome to watch. We
get into the biggest story of the NBA next right here,
Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio
