(00:51):
worse than next time you heard it?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
No?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Are you coming to? Emotions of Nan? When he gets
to the part where you play the devon jims up
three in the voice over says remember with us a
big run the Knicks had and holding the playoffs up
by themselves.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
But we had people at How about a fresco at Swollendom.
You want to send your remembrances of the NIXT season,
please do at Fox Sports Radio. But people were sending
us pictures of lilies, all different flower arrangements like you
would put around a funeral. Yeah, hey there's the casket.
Yeah there's a picture of de Vincenzo or Tom Thibodeau

(01:27):
sitting there for you. Yeah, it was framed black and white,
you know, in their healthier, younger days, before all the
arm wraps or casts on broken hands.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
How about the picture of the game, what was it?
Game five? Locker room fart banner next time?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Oh yeah, yea, let's but put that back. Julius Randall
twenty twenty Nicks fart pregame Game five.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Those are the two banners going on. Could they not
capitalize with another Despicable Me movie coming out? I know
Grew and Yo Kitchen all that as he gets humped
out to pasture, But I mean I'm seeing the advertisements for.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
The all new more sounds, more potential smells coming out
of a fart gun.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
I thought you meant my Knicks might be able to capitalize.
How you meant, like because Grew looks like Tom Thibodeau.
I thought that's weird.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Well he does kind of as well, right, you can
go yo, get your thibodeaux. At that point, get down
the ragnes we have Jos aren't dessert and jaylen Brunson
broke his head, get outrages. Oh man, that's pretty good.
That's what that works exactly. That kind of sounds like
in the fourth quarter of games. Look look, let me,
let me, let me, let let me be honest. We

(02:33):
were two hours into the show. Yeah, and I told
you I was fine, and you've been lying the whole No,
you're not, non stop. I watched you. I still hate
both of you, all of you, all of you very much.
How does that change? Not t he doesn't pay attention,
but everybody else you say something yes, but no, I
still I'm really The Pacers pissed me off and what's

(02:54):
happened with them? But the Knicks I'm fine because look,
be honest, the Knicks didn't didn't underachieve, they didn't blow
a game and go oh look ha ha, how they
did this?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Well, they kind of did because he had them in
the finals. So that would be underbody.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
At home.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
There was a big they were a home. You had
the support of every classic Nick. The Knicks you called
the Nicks.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Had a bigger body counting this playoffs and in any
John Wick movie, it's like, oh my good, look at
all these guys. They're losing. Ben Stiller was there for you.
He didn't play a minute. There were all there Starks
and all these and they're light's a Broadway where there.
Now they're all gone. All Pacer legends are going to
show up. Now, great, that'll be the hell's ass. Like

(03:37):
I said, Reggie Miller is the only one. Look what
the hell? Mark Jackson the Knicks. Look wait, wait, he's
getting near a court again. Mark Jackson also Knicks legends. Yeah, look,
he had to choose side. I told you from the
beginning the Knicks were only going to go so far
because of the injury issues. I said, I told you

(03:58):
from the beginning. But they were up zip and I'm
going go New York, Go New York. Come say this
SERI is still gonna go seven. I hope they have
enough because gift it was and it still is a
great gift. But that's how it's gonna go. Because the
Knicks were two bad. They're playing with five guys. And
the one thing I can say is, hey, TIBs, you
couldn't reached into your bench with alec Burgs was pretty good.

(04:19):
He gave you some offense here. But when you lose
of your top eight guys in your rotation, and you
lose four of them, and then you lose your best
player in the third quarter of Game seven because he
breaks his hand, what are you gonna do? Right, There's
there's nothing I can say. All the Knicks felt short.
They did this. They didn't achieve here, they were hurt.
They went as far as they could go and they lost. Right,

(04:40):
That's that's kind of what happened. Even in the game seven. Oh,
they lost at home. The Pacers shot unlike anybody in
the history of the NBA, and I'm playing for well
over one hundred years, until they decided, you know what,
we get the ball back faster, we cut the bottoms
out of the peach baskets. Oh, let's do that. Nobody
has shot that well in a game in NBA history.
And and that's what the Pacers needed to win that game.

(05:02):
So okay, like it happened, I'm not upset, unlike when
the Mets lose or the Jets lose, and I go,
here's a list of thirty things that went wrong, And
I know I miss some What am I gonna say
about the next There's nothing I told you. The series
turned on the Nendmark mirror when he closed his eyes
and actually bounced the ball into the hoop. You can't
just give him credit because he can't. Shot doesn't matter.

(05:27):
He made that one. He closed his eyes, he said
a prayer. You could see him actually put his hands
together and go, please, Blase, Blease, please let me make this.
And he threw it up. I think it was underhand,
and I think it bounced off the top of the
backboard and went in.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah, he was the extended cut of the old Jordan versus.
He's their worst play off the pillar, the worst player,
and he made a three way.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
He's a starter worst player. He's their worst player. He's
their worst.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
He's not a guy they signed off the minutes because
all their guys were hurt.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
He was a start. Halliburton passed the ball up, and
you're the player you want if you're the Knicks with
the ball thirty feet from the basket. Having to take
a shot is him.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Arguably much in this series. You would have rather seen
it in Halliburn.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
He makes a shot and Halliburton, right after the shot
was over, you see Halliburt, Oh my god, like he
won the lottery. Can't believe it. He was just named
mister America. Oh my god, I won. And you just
watched Nembard walking around a smile and his face like,
I can't believe I just made the shot. He still
has no memory of it. He put that blocked out.
He just threw it up. Just give that turn series

(06:31):
step back. He made nothing but net shot, not rim
rim back of the round that you would put in
a movie. Never gonna happen in a slow motion watching
it bounce around, never gonna go, not a caddy shack,
waiting for the explosion, all of those things. Nothing happened.
You can't give that guy credit, no, because it was
he I know, because he stole a piece of your

(06:53):
A miracle, A miracle the Knicks. I remember that you
were on air and it was I lost you. It
was a year into traffic. It was the ninth wonder
of the world. Right. We had we had the hanging
gardens of Babylonia, we had the Pyramids, we have King Kong,
we have the Grand Canon, and then and then we

(07:14):
had this shot. That's the ninth wonder of the world
is now look at this. I mean, really, they're gonna
build They're gonna build statues for him in Indiana in
the second round of the playoffs. They're gonna put that
right from here. Perfect. It was a miracle. I'm not met.
The Knicks did everything that. There was nothing they could
have done. There was nothing they could have done they
could have won this series other than stay healthy. And

(07:35):
what were they gonna do? Ah, but it's Timbadeau's fault. No,
these are all freak injuries. Brunts and breaks his hand
putting a hand in for a steal. Okay, that's Randall,
separates his shoulder. Okay, I mean, what what are you
gonna do? I mean, who? Who? Who tears an abdominal
muscle and intercostal abdominal muscle.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Nobody When he was going up for the re studing
don't bring like he had indigestion.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
They squeak was owning him and shutting him down. Way
before he broke down. He had five forty point games
in the playoffs just because t J McConnell suddenly is motivated, going, oh,
I guess I gotta play that. People say I'm a
pain in the ass. I here, Hey, Jalen Hey, Jyleen, Hey, Jayleen,
you gonna turn the ball over, Jalen Brunson. Still every
your heart's out like Jim Carrey and dumb and dumb.
The last guy I'm gonna think of is TJ McConnell.

(08:21):
I'm gonna think of them hard. With that big goofy
smile on his face after he just throws the ball up,
I don't even think it was inflated. The ball he
just oh now it's he just now is a deflated.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Go in.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Who do you hate?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Car Carlyle? Oh? Who do I hate?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Because right now Nemart is a guy that's gonna haunt
you in your dreams like four Horror story. It's that
shot and something derivative off of that shot.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
They're gonna see his face. Who do I hate? For now?
You know what? Look, you're gonna be either your no, no,
You're gonna be mumbling his name. I would say I
had I hate Carlyle more than Demo. He made a mirror?
What am I gonna do? Made a miracle show? But
you shot clock down a miracle. Pacers need a miracle and.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Double team shot clock at court.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
The Mart's gotta put it up, step back, has three putters.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Time out.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Next you were like you got punched in the solar
plexus when that fell.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Because that was a play. That was a play where
every single Pacers fan, every player on the team, even
Carlyle is going no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh great shot, Oh what great shot that was? Oh
my god, I have been noticed how Halliburton gave up
the ball and then you could tell give me back
it back himself to get because he was getting that job.

(09:47):
Because so Nema hard did a good job, got his
guy past, did a good job. Then he did a
step back and handle it one shot the entire game.
You're the guy we're gonna let have the ball. So
that was his second shite that it's not helping your argument.
That's not absolutely hot. He wanted hot, he's hot. He

(10:11):
made a shot, he found his stroke right there. No, no,
you're confidence, no, no, but nothing but net for the Knicks.
I'm okay. There's a lot of things of the Pacers
that upset me. I get it. Well, may get Rick Carlisle,
but you're still mad about Reggie Miller. From all those
REGI hey can I stay relevant? Hey nix, hey, remember
when I made those eight points in three seconds. No,

(10:32):
but the Knicks, I mean, there's nothing else I can say.
They squeezed every bit they could out of this run
if they were healthy for the For me, I say, hey,
they're going to the finals. This team is going to
the NBA Finals. If if this is a team that's healthy,
with healthy whole but but that doesn't happen. But that
doesn't happen. You don't stay healthy during the playoffs. Teams
that win are the very few of the couple that do.

(10:55):
So I'm not saying, oh, we're no. But if the
Knicks were healthy, yeah they're an NBA Finals team. But
it doesn't happen that way, and everybody gets hurt. It.
It just sucks that every injury went to the Knicks.
It's like, you know, no, I don't just read a
bad little bit that my basketball guy, basketball gods did.
We're just gonna keep giving it to the next. Let's
keep giving it to the next. What a reasonable you
know what? It's like you know this was a reason

(11:16):
and hang on, you know what this was? You know
this was This is like when you're playing quarters right
with your with your friends and there's the one guy
that either upsets you or you don't like so much,
whatever it is, and you're playing quarters. You go, you
have a choice to make anybody drink and you give
him the elbow a couple of times in a row.
Here's another one for you, another one, another one for you,
another one. Feel that's what this was. This is the

(11:37):
NBA guy, welcome back to the true with their elbows going.
Here's another one for you, another one for us. Another injury,
another injury for you, another injury for you, another injury
for you. That's what they were doing, sold your soul.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
You went down to the crossroads and some it so
came to collect what what could possibly I have sold
my soul for?

Speaker 1 (11:52):
For the Knicks that been good in thirty years.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
They were no They were on the tips of everyone's tongues.
Everybody started to love you.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
What you got?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
A nice run? What did you had? A very charm season?
I didn't know up until they started falling up far
to giveaway you got. I gotta get more than that.
You rose all the way to the number two seat.
Bucks hired Doc Rivers for you. They hired Doc Rivers
to open up the door for you to rise up
to the second scene. We had nothing to do with that.
That was part of the deal with the devil at

(12:20):
the Cross, and now the Lakers will get Doc Rivers.
It's okay what you and your careers look that you
just did. Damn you trying to pass doc onto him.
That's all. That's all I really I do for Frostburg.
What are you gonna say? You know you're getting doc rivers.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
You have a number of gifts that you found of
Doc Rivers, and I think you were only scratching the surface.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
There's a lot of good.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Yeah, we were starting to go back and forth at
any any kind of barbs being exchanged in our group
chat talking about topics for tonight.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
You would just randomly throw them. I don't know where
you found those. I didn't even recognize him with the
off And don't you put that evil on me, Ricky
Bobby one by one.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
I mean, that's just it. You had this charm run
during the regular season. All these great moments from these visit.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
People are gonna follow my so I need a championship.
At least, I'm not saying that you did. I'm not
gonna sell my soul a part of your no, no, no, no, no,
you want the next one because you held back something
for the Mets. And you see how quickly the devil
came to collect there mid May and he's already come.
Here's how quick the k next can win a championship?
All right? For Ostberg, go ahead, give up your fandom.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Wow if I if you could guarant were talking, let's go.
I gotta give up my fandom, but the Knicks would
win a championship. I think I'd have to do that
for the greater good. I'm a great I'm a greater
good guy. I would you couldn't do?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
When we watch you die a little bit, we'd have
to Nixon and all?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
What would I have to do? Like to to like?
What would I have to do?

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Write up a pledge that says you'll burn your nixt
gear that you bought or donate it to the appropriate Sure,
and you have to root for the Pacers and the
Pacers or anybody.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Really do we get to do?

Speaker 4 (14:01):
We get the listeners to chime in as to what
team that they'd have. Maybe become a Laker fan.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
I give up my Knicks fandom, but you can guarantee
me the championship? I would do? We would guarantee the Knicks.
That's a new team. No, no, no, the team band
Yeah yeah, yeah, no, no, I do that. I do that.
This would kill him, though you don't get the celebrated. No,
you're no longer a Nick. Yeah, but I would be
happy that other people, other Knicks fans, would be celebrating. Yeah,
you sure, I'd be Oh sure, list is science. You'd

(14:28):
be happy for Frank the Tank. I would celebrates the
hell out of the title without you. Sometimes in life
it requires sacrifice, and this would be a sacrifice. I
would sacrifice that to do it, and I think people
would understand that, going, Hey, you want to talk about
un selfishes, and they would build a statue of me
outside Madison Square Garden of me eating a big mac
with a mets at on. Hey, look, this is the guy.

(14:48):
He gave him his met he gave up his Knicks
fandom so we can win a champions But you immediately
spoke in, there's no greater build a statue to. They're
not saying they'd have to. They would no hero as
part of it. There is no greater hero. Then I
would that That's what I would be, and I would
be okay with that.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
I through of the MSGEN suddenly there's a statue you
and I hold and I could take my kids there
and go see this is you know, like like the
like the end of Saving Private Ryan when when Matt
Damon's there, going did I earn it?

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Kids?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
And I would say, look and I did, kids, like
I did? I did it right there.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
He was really good in that Master the one video
that they did that included Saving.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Private Right, I would there you go? I would, I would,
I would do that. I'd be that guy and they
would say, this is there no one I gave a
more selfless act than Jason Smith. You supplant you'd supplant
Willis Reid? Oh yeah, yeah, remember the guy? I remember
the guy? Yeah? Oh yes, I mean Willis gave up
his leg. Yeah yeah, this I gave up. I came
up his fan. You'd come in with the sheiks from

(15:47):
Odan next games. We can't watch it. We can't watch it.
I can't. I can't watch the game. Well, we wouldn't
have them on in the studio. No, I'm okay respecting
them the win of course you came up with. I'm
okay with that. I would, I would give that up.
I would give it up. I would do it. I
would do it. Look in twitch, yeah, I would have
beaten the pacers. Do not want Now Wait a minute.

(16:09):
You can't go back and tell no no, no, no, no
exit about a Fresco exit swollen down The Jason Smith

Phantom snap. We're looking. We got more NBA on the way. Plus,

Just listen to the and Tony Fusco Show on the

my best friend Mike Harmon. He's a hobo, ty shoot
is just another song you're playing for your girlfriend. I
actually just wanted to be temptatious, so I played this song.
Okay to her if you want. What's her name? Her
name's Mila. Her name is what Mela? M I l a,

(17:43):
you're dating me Lacunas? Yes, oh okay, yes, I just
say that. I'm saying I'm not a fan of that
daily me Lacuon's okay, not a fan. Hi, Mila, Alex
Tyscher's girlfriend. Are you the girl that was in here
last week with him? I forget she is blonde? You
brought in last week. Now, I was out last week.
She was pretty cool that that girl you brought it
last He was here day two days. Yeah, Yeah, there

(18:08):
wasn't two days. Yeah. Yeah, then there's the redhead that
he brought in. She was very nice too, She's really cool.
Was one of them? Mela No? Two three four five?
Forgot to Devin the guy.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Who?

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Devin the guy. I wasn't here that day. Oh, okay,
that's all right. You're really mad at me?

Speaker 3 (18:29):
No, yeah, I thought I was trying to do some
cute you're making problems.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
I'm just I'm just kidding, Mila. If if you were
the one of the girls and he's like, he's what's yeah,
he's an instinctor. Yeah, basically, hey, you know, speaking of
we talked with this a few minutes ago. Internet content.
I didn't know I needed today. I'm a little afraid. No. No,
I didn't know I needed this today. Was it shot? No?

Speaker 2 (18:54):
No, because I.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Didn't you know whatever that rewind that. I'm sure that
up really easy. Oh, you got the NFL story coming
up on it. But I didn't know I needed Tom
Hanks's son Chet to explain the Drake Kendall Lamar beef
like he did. Wait a second, now, I didn't know
I needed that, but I shared.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
That Tom Hanks. Yeah, chat from the Thunder No different
check that would be a great story. But you know,
Tom Hanks and Chet Hanks was trending today.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
I like, what's going Here's a picture of Tom Hanks
with his son Chet, and they put out a text
exchange because Tom Hanks wanted to know what's going on?
Why do Drake and Kendrick Lamar hate each other? And
I said, oh, here's a here's a text message explaining it.
And Chet explains it great, and I'm like, oh, so
now I get I get all the layers of what's

(19:43):
going on with this beef. And I'm like, oh, that's
pretty cool. So maybe now that's maybe che Hanks should
explain a lot of things going on, uh, entertainment and
and and singer wise, because there's lots of things new.
I get entertainment news that happens now, and I go,
I have no idea what that is. Yeah, but you
know what, this is good idea.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
It's a great example of how every once in a
while in the the parent child relationship, the child needs
to explain some stuff to you. And here and here's
a great example of I don't know that I'd addressed
my kid by their rapper name, Hey Big Maine, not
hate Chet, Big Maine explain this to me like I'm

(20:19):
a five.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Year old, no, because I mean, we all do it, right.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
I mean we've got some guests in the studio and
just nod along. Yeah, you know, every once in a
while you need to look.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I have.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Maddie explained some of the why is this trending? Who
are these people? I've never heard of these rappers? Why
are they timeline?

Speaker 1 (20:36):
I like that DJ rocks Skrills out. I'm going, I
don't know what that means, but it's a huge headline.
I'm like, huge, Okay, I've never heard skrills as a
feel like, I feel like that's like all the entertainment
news that that happens that comes out, and so I
need them. I'm like, okay, so now.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
You want chet John Hanks to do that for us.
But it shows that superstars are just like us. Sometimes
they have no idea out their own gas all. They
go to the grocery store by themselves. Yeah, sure, no,
but I did. I didn't know I needed that today,
but I needed that. Chad Hanks explaining the Kendrick and
Drake Peef and he got into detail that I understood,

(21:13):
and it was pretty layered.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Okay, and I said, that's pretty lay it out quite nicely.
I kind of like that because I really think there's
I did like that. He did come back with the wait,
who's winning? Right? Well, yeah, that's pretty good. Did you
not see what I'm just typing to you? But I
think there is a market out there for people to
explain entertainment stories that are layered and have a history
that I don't understand. Like, I think there's a mark

(21:35):
like someone, Hey, someone's gonna explain to you exactly why
Taylor Swift re records all her songs. Oh, okay, great,
I kind of get that. That's great. I understand. You
just put a picture of a dollar. I mean, I
got no, but there's no But that's layer. So I
think there's a market for somebody do that. Hey, I
explain it to you very easy. I mean, we could
be those people to do the explaining. Yeah, but then
I have to instead of what Chris explains everything it does,

(21:58):
Clarissa explains it. Yeah, So this is that true's still
on the end. Cloris has got to be like I
explained it all. I'm smoking. I got nothing else. Hang
it out. Supposedly, according to head coach Dave Canalis. Bryce
Young is quote doing fantastic in the Panthers new offense.

(22:22):
Great quote, he's doing fantastic with us. So for us,
the formations are pretty vanilla. We can teach the concept
we want out of each route, the depth for work
we want. I expect him to do it, and he's
really mastered that part of it. Okay, Now what's he
gonna say? This guy sucks on. I'll tell you this
whole place.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
I gave him the playbook six weeks ago. I put
one hundred dollars on the last page.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
He returned, Bro, you know how that was. Don't make
me ask again, Brian Drew. Uh, this is a guy,
remember number one overall pick last year, who came in
completely outshine by C. J. Stroud. Maybe had a couple
of very minor moments of playing well not I mean
he was running for his life.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Yes, they had a very Uh to say, they had
a suspect group of offensive linemen and skilled position players
around him, would me being kind?

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Yeah? Sure, But but now you have a head coach
that's come in who has helped Baker Mayfield last season.
Wilson in Seattle, Geno Smith in Seattle, he's got a
pretty good track record of Hey, I'm gonna help my
quarterback succeed. I like that. We put Geno Smith. Come on,
Geno Smith made the bleeping Pro Bowl. As the years

(23:38):
of him. No man come in and build a statue
of him, said, The Geno Smith statue is in the Okay, no,
you're talking about but.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
No.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Jets almost killed me. I wouldn't be the quarterback I
was if I didn't think so bad with the Jets
for so long. But they've also brought new weapons. The
drafted wide receiver are very high. They brought in Deontay Johnson.
I remember last year that you try to do the
same thing. Mingo didn't really work out, but he's probably
on his last chance. But he's a first round wide receiver.

(24:13):
They've brought in the weapons, and they've brought in a
quarterback friendly coach. Just me saying if I'm in fantasy,
he is a great by low guy and or a
guy to target late and draft. Who's my backup quarterback.
He's been one of the last quarterbacks taken off the board.
But he's a guy. He's a great by low guy
right now in dynasty or if you're doing auction because

(24:33):
he certainly has the tools. The guy's number one pick
for a reason, and this is when if he's gonna
make a jump, it's gonna be now. So this is
a pretty good risk to take simply because all right,
he's got the guy that he needs and that that
has succeeded every with quarterbacks. And maybe the Panthers win games,
maybe they don't, but you're talking about his Bryce Young
gonna be a good quarterback. Yeah, this is the spot
from his succeeding. He's got the tools in place, he's

(24:54):
got the team, he's got the coaching. This is a
guy I feel confident about, you know, buying low on
for year time.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, again, it may not translate to very many wins,
but you're also in a division that has its gaps. Right,
we don't know what Tampa's gonna be. What's Baker this
next year? Mike Evans? Can he stay healthy?

Speaker 1 (25:14):
God?

Speaker 4 (25:14):
When can he stay healthy? I mean you go on
down the line. Uh yeah, it's in New Orleans. Do
you trust Derek Carr and company? No, I'll say it
for you.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
No you don't.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
So, I mean opportunity there in kallis a guy that
great respect and Bryce Young, to your point, was the
number one overall pick, and folks are already doing what
they did from the twenty seventeen draft. You should have
picked this guy or that guy with CJ. Stroud in
the year of they end, Oh, they should have picked
them all right, At the time it was pretty split,
remember that, Yeah, but it was very heat.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
It's easy now to what was very last. But again,
c J.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Stroud goes to Carolina, does he have the same success Like,
it's the same Patrick Mahomes argument that people had. And again,
if the Bears were gonna pick someone that wasn't Trubisky,
it would have been to Shaun Watson and we all
know how that played out. You want to do the
history of him now, you want to do that?

Speaker 1 (26:05):
And what he's got? No, nook no.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
So I mean like all of that rolls through and look,
if the Bears had kept the number one pick, they
probably would have taken.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Bryce yeh yeah, And here you go and extrapa late
Now you have the Bryce Young Caleb Williams quarterback controversy.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Yeah, yeah, I kind of wouldn't that, yeah, because they
wouldn't have been good.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Yeah, it would have been a mess. But we don't
need to look because if you're the Panthers, don't forget,
you know. They also drafted Jonathan Brooks, who was supposed
to be coming back. He's a big dice roll because
is he going to be fully recovered from his torn
acl but still the best running back?

Speaker 4 (26:38):
And he's also the guy Jerry Jones wanted. And maybe
he alerted them saying, hey he's still there.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Oh right, you spent a lot of money on a
couple of offensive linemen, so that I mean, this is
they put him. It's like the Bears.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Yeah, you build a bunch of stuff and say, all right,
we're giving you the best opportunity to succeed.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
And not only that, I'll look and say, you know,
if you're looking for a surprise team to come from
nowhere and win a division, right like, well, we always
have worse. Who's that surprise team? I will put my
money on Carolina in the South this year because I'm
not that big a believer as good as to you know,
is Tampa Bay really that good? As Baker Mayfield really

(27:13):
this good? Is there gonna be a bit of a
regression for them? Sure? None? So mean as you said, look,
New Orleans is New Orleans. This is not a great
division already. It's not a great division. The Falcons. Okay, hey,
Kirk Cousins, is it gonna work? All right? But you're
looking at a team that really made a lot of
adjustments and brought in a lot of new things and

(27:35):
a lot of new things, especially on the offensive side
of the ball. If I'm looking for that bargain, say, hey,
who's that division winner that can really come out of nowhere?
Carolina in the NFC South? Is that team? Watch you
like the cut of your gym. Watch out currently either
twelve or fourteen to one, depending on where you're shopping.
The Falcons a favorite minus one, twenty, Buccaneers second at

(27:57):
about three to one, and then the Saints coming in
four to five to one, depending on where you're shopping
as well.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
So, uh, the muddled middle there. Yeah, the Falcons if
they're healthy and Kirk Cousins is ready to play and
there's no setbacks there, sure they on paper, they've got
an offense that should be able to humpt because you
know what, John Robinson won't be in bubble wrap again
this year.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Oh, I mean the number of the number of times
I've heard you better let him run the football the year.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
Man that was one of those Are you saving him
for good? My mom's old friends like for what you
need to get fired? Oh, you're saving for the next
head coach. You're gonna get fired. I've done right for you.
It's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Now. Look, you know if you used him a little
bit more. And there were like four or five games
that were hanging in the ballance in the fourth corner.
Look and he's standing on the sideline for his helmet,
rocket by away from winning that division. Oh, you were
not just a couple of games in there, just a
couple of games. Funny how that works. Are you tired

past the fifth play? I don't care, get past the

(30:03):
fil I don't care if he's a Yankee fan, I
don't care. Really, he's gonna show up now and be
a Mets fan. Why the hell would you show up
now and be a Mets fan?

Speaker 4 (30:11):
They stink to show you have some characters, They stink
as opposed to be in a front runner.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
I wish, I wish I could give up the Mets,
but I can't. You can't see. We can make you
the same deal we were talking about, give up another
team every time by backup PC of your soul. Every
one of my teams I give up, they get to win.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
Come on, we'll get you to sing a few songs
like you're Hugh Jackman and Le mis Rob.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
How does it feel to know that that's all that's
stopping your teams?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Is you? H It doesn't feel great if you gave
him up? Not great, Boby, go on to greatness?

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Uh, isn't the guy from Z isn't his name Jean Valjean?
That's right, She's the same first name as last name.
Yea Baron Cohen? Right? No, No, that's Sasha and Cohen. No,
he was in the movie, wasn't he was in Le Miz?
I like you Jackman, I like I like Russell Crowe.

(31:09):
Russell Crowe was in that movie. Yeah, Gladiator? Was it was?

Speaker 3 (31:12):
This?

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Was this not the movie I think it is? Was
this like some sort of thriller? Was it outer Space?
Was it a French outer space movie? No?

Speaker 4 (31:21):
I'm Jean valje I mean you had Amy had Anne
hatch Wits of Rain?

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Yeah, Sasha Baron Cohene was in there. I was hell
in a bottom carter. I like hell in a bottom carter. Okay,
all right, just making it to me. No, it was
not poor odd the movie I lie, I like Ann Hathaway. Uh. Tonight,
the Indiana Fever fell to own four. Yeah they did.

(31:51):
They lose it again in their fourth game and six
nights all against the top tier play in the w NBA.
Hey man, you gotta get those eyeballs. They lose eighty
eight eighty four to the Connecticut Sun. Then a chance
to tie the game in the final seconds, Leah Boston
misses a layup and the son hit a couple of
free throws and that's it. Now, one thing to take

(32:12):
away from this game, Caitlyn Clark hits another logo three.
She is getting her shots. Everything is fine for all.
The only problem her team stinks, right, that is the
one problem. That's how you wind up with the number
one overall pick because your team is not good back
to back years. But overall, this has been a huge success.

(32:33):
She's been terrific. The WNBA is getting all sorts of
attention they didn't get. It's awesome. Now, just one thing
about Caitlyn Clark to realize that she's not every other rookie.
This last play that Eliah Boston gets open on she
gets the ball too far from the basket, because everybody
is wondering, okay, we got to make sure Caitlin Clark

(32:54):
doesn't get it. She's not going to hit a three
at the buzzer and win this game against US. So
Aliah Boston gets pretty far away. By the time she
drives to the basket. There's a couple of defenders over there,
and she misses a lamp. She's a little out of control.
Lanta would have tied the game, and instead it doesn't go.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Well, Yeah, she's got the lane and it closes quite quickly.
They run Clark up towards half courty she comes. Don't
want her to get the ball. There is not one
player in the WNBA, not Brianna Stewart, not anybody else
that gets the defensive attention already that Caitlyn Clark gets,
like this play is wide open for a Leah Boston,

(33:29):
because hey, there's four three people out past the past
the arc saying hey, Caitlyn Clark's not going to get
this and tie this game. Not gonna happen we're gonna
make somebody else try to win it. And as you see,
we made a Leah Boston try to win it and
she missed a leyap Nobody gets the attention Caitlyn Clark does.
Can you sit here and say, oh, here's Angel Reese
wins Rookie of the Week.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
And yet no, no one's putting out a team saying
we have to stop Angel Reese. Everything is out to
design to stop Caitlyn Clark. And still she's the leading
scorer for the fever. She's getting her shots off. Yes,
fouls and turnovers are being cut down. You said what
she needs to cut down on. You're seeing the turno
was cut down a little bit. The fowls are still
up there. But some of the turnover she gets called

(34:10):
for is because her teammates can't handle a really good pass.
I'm like, oh, that doesn't seem right. But look, that's
the two things she's going to work on. Right.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
Oftentimes quarterback have a high interception rate. Guess what what
his finger gipsy receiver counts just the same.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
But what does she have to work on? Fouls and turnover? Right?
But everybody's got to work on stuff. But understand, that
she has come in and seeing attention unbeknownst and unseen
by anybody else coming into the WNBA. Well, why is
the attention she gets? Because she's great and that's why,
And what is your go to argument for a lot

(34:43):
and her team stinks that's the thing?

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Ergo double team her dream stak mention, Angel Reese, Well,
she's not living beyond the three point arc, right, so
much different in terms of how you're setting up your defenses,
et cetera, knowing that if Clark finds some daylight, she's
going to be able.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
To beat you.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
And it's been fun to watch, right, It's been a
quick week go from Cameron Briank averaging three point five
blocks a game, fun down in the low post Angel
Reese as well, having her moment for Chicago, hanging out
with Megan d. Stallion at a concert and whatever else.
But for Cantlin Clark, yeah, great scrutiny because you've either
got the champions on one side that everything she touches

(35:25):
is gold and everybody else who's just rooting for the
league to collapse, not just for her to fail, but
for the league to collapse as well.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
There's just a lot of.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Anger and somewhere in between we find some happy medium. Yeah,
still a lot of reach in files trying to figure
out where that is the physicality. She's taken the bront
and you got folks going, oh, look at the screen.
Her teammates didn't nothing to know. It's you know, there's
a communication thing. There's still just what do they have
about a week and a half in training camp and
they're still working through the kinks as it were, And

(35:56):
it'll get better, and she's hitting shots. It's a fun watch,
but folks are waiting for everything to be sky is falling.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Yeah, no, and it's not. It's what you're selling. Yeah,
it's okay, it's a and and her team's not gonna
be good because this is how it works. So they'll
get the number one pick next year, you know when
Wenby's overwhelming Rookie of the Year and his team stunk.
So it's kind of how how many more games they
won this year than last same exit out by the
Fresca exit Swallen Dome. Hey, we got two star wide receivers,

(36:27):
big time in the news. We got to get to
plus Yes, back to the biggest story in the NBA.
