for MVP, because quite honestly, MVP is not Player of
the Year. And at this point, is Caitlin Clark as
good as Asia Wilson. Now, Asia Wilson still is the

and she proves it every night. She's in her prime.
She's the best player. But the MVP is not a

I always blew off a lot of the drama with
the Eagles, right and Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts because
I just thought it was stupid. I thought the dysfunction
was stupid, and and the relationship between Sirianni and Hurts
and all the drama we've heard about the last few months,
and Sirianni had to stand up and talk to the

team to to you know, keep his standing and maybe
he's on a hey, this could be his last year
with the Eagles if things go badly can't get along
with his quarterback, and I just thought it was stupid.
I'm like, this is just dumb, Like I really he
can't get along with this with his quarterback, and and
Hurts is having all kinds of like it's just dumb.

Like I thought the whole time, I thought it was dumb.
And then Jalen Hurts said something yesterday and it made
me understand how chaotic and how real and how real
and how even stupider this was because of what Jalen
Hurts said when he was asked about what he's excited
for this season. Right again, I blew off the Eagles

a lot because I'm like, ah, I think we're manufacturing
a lot. There's X, Y and Z happening, and is
it really this bad. No, no, no. This story yesterday
made me understand just how just how weird and how
chaotic things are in Philadelphia and how yes, everything you
hear about what could happen to Sirianni and Hurts this year,
it's all true. This is is Jalen Hurtschman day ago

talking about how he feels how excited he is because
he's learning more going into this season about a lot
of things. Offensively, take a listen, you know.

I'm think in the end, I think when you look
at this upcoming season and what you have seen from
the years past is just different autonomy in different places.
You know, we had a great player here Tis and
Kelsey who took on a lot of responsibility and result
of that, I was told not to worry about a
lot of things. My eagerness to learn and all of
that over the years, you know, kind of was haughty

because of who we act. But but not times are
different and I'm excited for that journey.

When I heard that, I said, You've there's no, no,
no way, no way, because that's the most asinine thing
a head coach could really do. As much love and respect,
Jason Kelsey's one of the most respective. For as long
as I've been doing this, Jason, I don't think I've
ever had people talk about a player with such reverence.

But understand you know that he's funny and smart ass

feel like Alan Irison, I'm not supposed to be the
franchise player. We're here talking about practice like I'm the
franchise quarterback. I'm an MVP candidate. And again I go
back to I am the quarterback and the leader of
this team. And when I want to know things, you
tell me don't worry about it. Jason Kelsey's got it.
The center has it. Do you think Tom Brady has
whatever the relationship Tom Brady had with Bill Belichick, whatever

relationship Lamar Jackson has with John Harbaugh, wherever you want
to go. Do you really think these guys are going
into their office going, hey, so I have some questions
about protections that I call out, and Belichick tells Brady,
don't worry about it, don't worry about it, don't wor
the center has it, don't worry Joe Andrews. Joe Andrews,
he has it. Don't worry about it. We're fine. Like
really like you you have you. Your quarterback who wants

to learn more, wants to continue to be a leader
and needs to know these things is told, yeah, don't worry.
Our center knows what's going on. What an insult that
is to to Jalen Hurts, Like, all the guy has
done is try to do it, and from from his
time at Alabama when when he won the job as
a freshman National Championship game, all the way he transfers
he makes it to the NFL. This is a guy

who has always worked hard, has always tried to present.
He's always been very image conscious from the beginning, always presented, Hey,
I want to be a leader. I want to do
all of these things, and to be told that no
our center has it. Like I get you, like Jason Kelsey,
I get that he's awesome, but these are things you
have to understand. Your quarterback needs to know this, your

quarterback what you didn't think you could handle it? Sorry, Jalen,
you can't handle what we're telling You can't handle protection.
You can't handle it. You can't be dumb and play
in the NFL. Man, you gotta be really smart. And
Jalen hurts is the level of success he has and

this is how really dysfunctional things are in Philadelphia. Like

I'm Jalen and I'm in charge here. I mean, what's

changed anybody that's been with that squad more than a year,
That's not been the case, and they're not gonna look
at you any differently.

Your franchise quarterback has to lead at some point. And
it's not like he's asking for something that he doesn't
need to know. It's because they've admitted. Okay, now, now
you need to know this. No, I'm pretty sure if
he wanted to learn, he could pick that stuff up.
He needs to know certain things like protect whatever whatever
it is that you're not allowing the quarterback to learn
about the offense. No, no, don't worry our center at

and all the drama we've heard about the last few months,
and Sirianni had to stand up and talk to the

team to to you know, keep his standing and maybe
he's on a hey, this could be his last year
with the Eagles if things go badly can't get along
with his quarterback, and I just thought it was stupid.
I'm like, this is just dumb, Like I really he
can't get along with this with his quarterback, and and
Hurts is having all kinds of like it's just dumb.

Like I thought the whole time, I thought it was dumb.
And then Jalen Hurts said something yesterday and it made
me understand how chaotic and how real and how real
and how even stupider this was because of what Jalen
Hurts said when he was asked about what he's excited
for this season. Right again, I blew off the Eagles

a lot because I'm like, ah, I think we're manufacturing
a lot. There's X, Y and Z happening, and is
it really this bad. No, no, no. This story yesterday
made me understand just how just how weird and how
chaotic things are in Philadelphia and how yes, everything you
hear about what could happen to Sirianni and Hurts this year,
it's all true. This is is Jalen Hurtschman day ago

talking about how he feels how excited he is because
he's learning more going into this season about a lot
of things. Offensively, take a listen, you know.

I'm think in the end, I think when you look
at this upcoming season and what you have seen from
the years past is just different autonomy in different places.
You know, we had a great player here Tis and
Kelsey who took on a lot of responsibility and result
of that, I was told not to worry about a
lot of things. My eagerness to learn and all of
that over the years, you know, kind of was haughty

because of who we act. But but not times are
different and I'm excited for that journey.

When I heard that, I said, You've there's no, no,

a head coach could really do. As much love and respect,

as I've been doing this, Jason, I don't think I've

back to I am the quarterback and the leader of
this team. And when I want to know things, you

The center has it. Do you think Tom Brady has
whatever the relationship Tom Brady had with Bill Belichick, whatever

relationship Lamar Jackson has with John Harbaugh, wherever you want
to go. Do you really think these guys are going
into their office going, hey, so I have some questions
about protections that I call out, and Belichick tells Brady,
don't worry about it, don't worry about it, don't wor
the center has it, don't worry Joe Andrews. Joe Andrews,
he has it. Don't worry about it. We're fine. Like
really like you you have you. Your quarterback who wants

to learn more, wants to continue to be a leader
and needs to know these things is told, yeah, don't worry.
Our center knows what's going on. What an insult that
is to to Jalen Hurts, Like, all the guy has
done is try to do it, and from from his
time at Alabama when when he won the job as
a freshman National Championship game, all the way he transfers
he makes it to the NFL. This is a guy

who has always worked hard, has always tried to present.
He's always been very image conscious from the beginning, always presented, Hey,
I want to be a leader. I want to do
all of these things, and to be told that no
our center has it. Like I get you, like Jason Kelsey,
I get that he's awesome, but these are things you
have to understand. Your quarterback needs to know this, your

quarterback what you didn't think you could handle it? Sorry, Jalen,
you can't handle what we're telling You can't handle protection.
You can't handle it. You can't be dumb and play
in the NFL. Man, you gotta be really smart. And
Jalen hurts is the level of success he has and
you get told, don't worry about it, the center has it.
Like what Like this made me really understand? Oh wow,
this is how really dysfunctional things are in Philadelphia. Like

I just thought it was knuckleheaded stuff, right, No, but
this is one of those Okay, just what is data?
What are day to day operations? Like here? Can this
team really handle success? Because it goes back to the
WNBA where they have trouble. I knew are they gonna
have trouble handling success with Caitlin Clark coming in? Here
are the Eagles who all of a sudden got successful
like it was in a bottle and it was all

It was like, boom, here comes to the the the
formula and bang, all of a sudden, the Eagles go
from ay, we're an up and coming team too, we're
a super Bowl threat. Every year we're in the super Bowl.
And they obviously have had a tough time handling that
success because you go back to right after the Super
Bowl Sirianni and Hurts and how they were and what
happened last year and they get to ten to oh
and then suddenly they just falter and they don't look

like they even want to play together, and you get
to they couldn't handle success, and this is part of it. Really, Okay,
you're successful, Hey, yeah, yeah, Oh no, no, don't worry.
Jalen Hurts our center has it. He's got a great podcast.
So we're gonna let him call everything, and if you
have any questions, we'll kind of let you answer, but
maybe not. Now you know why the Eagles level of
dysfunction is such a big deal. Again, I blew it

off and then I saw this and I said, oh no, no,
this is absolutely everything people are talking about and have
been talking about the past few months.

Yeah, when you look at the timeline here right, Kelsey
holding things together and the tush push and everything else,
you understand, all right, he's gonna give you the signal,
follow his lead on stuff like that, right in short
yard age, go line whatever. Just from a tactical standpoint, fine,
to be a professional and and get get along in

the league. Sure, a future Hall of Famer whatever, But
beyond that, your quarterback carries the weight of the world.
I don't know if you realize this. Philadelphia fans are
pretty harsh Jason as well as theirs.

Not a lot of softball questions coming out there, and
and look, depending on the coach, you'd have a lot
of them banned. But for Sirianni, I mean they've woned
a pretty good clip. Yes, last year was an enigma
because you started out well, you changed out both coordinators,
and yet you still had a hell of a first
half of the season.

You heard rumblings, questions.

About AJ Brown whatever uh and and a little bit
of hurt Sirianni that boiled into the offseason. But now
this just takes it to a whole other level of responsibility.
Ownership and and just team construct in a locker room,
because that's the guy you're supposed to be leaning on. Right,

That's every thing we've ever been told by anybody who's
played a sniff anywhere at the collegiate level. Help passed
into junior and senior year, varsity ball in high school,
your quarterback's your leader. And in the NFL certainly that
goes commensurate with the contracts that you have. So it's

it's curious, right Roseman puts together a good team every
year we watch it and it's always evaluated as a
fantastic one to fifty three, always rated as a top five.
All right, here we go, great depth, defensive line, offensive line,
et cetera. Next man up. And now we have the
question of now Jalen Hurts is gonna now try to

be a leader after several years. Who the hell that's
been around the team for these years in the locker
room is suddenly gonna say, all right, I guess he's
the guy. Now, wouldn't you look at the guy that
replaces Kelsey? All right, centers and charge again, because I mean,
as Jalen Hurts a different guy. No, that's the that's
the follow up question out of what he gave in

that interview, right is okay, Well, how have you changed
your approach and how you're you're doing things right? People
mocked the Caleb Williams, Hey, guys, let's take care of
our locker room. Let's look out for the team as
a whole, everybody that's around us, and he got laughed
at Himani Tumor was on FS one UH calling him

out going what he was like, that's that's a guy
trying to be you know, and maybe trying is the
wrong word. That's a guy showing leadership of an ownership
of the team that he's coming into quarterbacks saying, hey,
it's a new world order. Let's go for Jalen Hurts.
After several years in the league, suddenly it's gonna be like, Hi, guys,
I'm Jalen and I'm in charge here. I mean, what's

changed anybody that's been with that squad more than a year,
That's not been the case, and they're not gonna look
at you any differently.

Your franchise quarterback has to lead at some point. And
it's not like he's asking for something that he doesn't
need to know. It's because they've admitted. Okay, now, now
you need to know this. No, I'm pretty sure if
he wanted to learn, he could pick that stuff up.
He needs to know certain things like protect whatever whatever
it is that you're not allowing the quarterback to learn
about the offense. No, no, don't worry our center at

what happens if Jason Kelsey gets hurtain goes out, Oh great,
Oh we don't know he knows everything. Oh all right,
like that, that's just so backwards, such a backwards way.

Off the leadership and institutional knowledge goes out the door

snap you the ball and there's a lot of problems,

you hold things back from the court from a franchise
quarterback as good as Jalen Hurt says, Yes, a rookie
coming up, a guy like Drake may or Caleb Williams, Yeah, okay,

hundred percent, I'm with you. But I mean, for Hurts,

what he's accomplished the last couple of years, and you're saying, yeah, no, no, no,
we know we need to lead in all this, but no,
we're not gonna give you that. Like it's just that's
really I mean, it's it's how do you how do
you want a torpedo your season? Even more? Now? I
want I see Nick Sirianni, I go, what is this
guy gonna do to blow things? Like what? I don't
I don't know, because you know something else is coming.

Because if this this happens, If this happened and you
you kept things from Jalen Nerds because you thought Jason
Kelsey had it, I don't know what to say. I

This is the guy you drafted to become your guy.

So it's gonna be one of those plotting Michigan runs
the whole game looking and Fresno State's not bad, right,
It weren't bad last year, But this is one of
those Quinn essential Michigan games where hey, they look somewhat dominant,
they run for a lot of yards, they keep a
lot of clock, and they win by a couple of touchdowns.

But twenty two is just way too much for me.
It's gonna be Fresno State getting twenty two. I'm not
saying Fresno State on the field like I will the
next game, but I'll be more than happy with twenty
two points. You are one that I could see on
the field and rare is this. Check my temperature, check
my pulse, because I'm picking Notre Dame to beat Texas
A and M on the road getting three.

in the Bowl game. He was terrific. They're gonna score
a lot of points. I love the over in this
game as well. But USC is gonna score a ton
and it's gonna be a surprise early and we're gonna
jump on the USC benwagon and say, oh maybe this
is it. Ah, they lose, Caleb Williams like, but USC

will come out big tomorrow. I'll take the five points,
but I won't need him because USC wins on the field.

Another game where we've seen some pressure opened at ten
and a half, now sitting around eight and a half
or eight.
