(00:49):
absolutely taking over, Tucker Barnhardt is pitching the eighth inning
for the Cubs against the Mets.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
The Mets are up eleven two. There was a long
rain delay.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Cubs don't want to us an everyday pitcher, so Tucker Barnhardt,
who was a catcher.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Is pitching. We've seen this many times before.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Sure, Tucker Barnhardt every pitch looking at the city field
scoreboard is in epis pitch you are seeing thirty mile
an hour pitches every pitch. Tucker Barnhart's not trying to
throw anything crazy. He's not trying to throw a knuckleball.
He is just simply lobbing it up there.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
So it's a twelve foot rule like you're playing a
softball and Millennium Park.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
It's like it's like like a like a higher arch league.
He is just he is just getting the ball and
throwing it. And there was a pitch it was called
a strike on Lindor where Lindor looked at the umpire like,
come on, man, it crossed the plate over the catcher's
But it's like when I was in little league. At
one point, we're winning a game pitching.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Well I'm at the plate and they needed a last
minute umpire, so my uncle volunteered. He literally called me
out on a pitch that bounced him the dirt about
three feet in front of the plate. He was maading
that for a long time. I just don't let you know,
and I just looked at it. I go, come on,
I'll take thee out. But really he.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Was waiting for you to do wait a long time.
No no, I'll jump in Mike bad again.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I'll make you know. I'm good that he waited for
his moment the rest of the game. But I never, like,
I was not a guy that struck out like I
was in contact and so like. It was the first
time I'd struck out, like fifteen games, and you gotta
call me out on that.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Come on, man, should have helped me.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Should have helped me in the garage the other day
when I asked for you out but you said no,
I just want to play my video games. Yeah, it
should have helped me out. Strike three year out. Go
back to the pitch. I'll throw you out of here.
Well he did threaten to throw me out. You throw
it every pitch they cut to the schoolboard. Epis pitch
thirty one miles an hour, ethis pitch thirty seven miles
in it.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
This one did not register on the radar gun. It
was so slow.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's just a it's just a line. It's a flat line. Sorry,
we can't even tell it that.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
We couldn't register it. It was either it was it was
really that fast.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I didn't know I needed that as much as I did. No,
that's good, he's just he's just like, yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Could do it. We don't watch you hurt. No, no, no,
I'm just gonna throw it. Like, what are you gonna
throw it? Well, you're getting win, and you get that
and you beat the Cubs. For me, it's good. So
though the Cubs are one of the best stories in baseball. Yeah,
screw Thatchers, Cubs, Cody Bellinger, Yeah whatever. Look, it's proof
that a former Dodger can do something outside of a
Dodger uniform, because there haven't been a lot of those. No,
(03:27):
that is true. That guys, what's laugh You're a rug.
You are right, you are right.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
So while this is all going on, well, Tucker Barnard's
pitching the eighth inning, he's my head. Francisco Aliver the'll
line drive off the fence that I think almost knocked
the fence down.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Did he get held to a single he's not a
fast No.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
He didn't. He didn't run to second base. He stopped
like he was like, it's eleven to two, I'm just
gonna stop here, it's gonna stop.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
It's all right. You didn't want the extra base hit
that'll come that comes in handy during contract time. In
a single off the fence, you know, nineteen doubles is
not twenty.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
It says here you didn't hit your your quota for doubles,
we can pay you a the league minimum.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Well, but I see argument for the extra base hits
and their meaning. If you stopped at first, you know,
we started getting into a nineteen nineteen Black Sox situation.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Twenty nine is not thirty. Eddy Albert, how manna games?
Mister Seacott win for us like he's got on a rollerdex.
Hang On Eddie c seaka hang On Seacutt, Seacott, seacut
twenty nine. Sir, you had kid bench me for two
whole weeks in August, I would have had five starts.
I would have won at least three of those. You
knew that real quick.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Speaking of the White Sox, Mike, cause Dan Anderson won't
got yet.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, yeah, he was tweeting up a storm, telling everybody
was coming for him, saying he was gonna fine ramirrors
and get after him. That that wasn't done. It's a
whole lot of mess.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I mean, the way he's able to walk away from dude,
you got knocked out, man.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
He barely walked away.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Pushed the guy into helping him up. You pushed the
guy into a brawl. You wanted to fight. You moved
around like you hey, I got you man, I'll fight,
and then you got knocked the blank out.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
And now still he's acting like he won the fight. Well,
but but it starts with Ramirez being a hard guy, right,
I mean, Anderson tags and kind of stands there. Didn't
like that, didn't like the tag, and so he got
upset and got out of pocket. Evidently they were dawn before,
so you got a little bit of a backstory. And
then all of a sudden they're squaring off and the
(05:23):
umpire gets out of this hockey fight. Now we're gonna
do it until there's a third man in. Let's you go.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
You know, I always let people fight. Now, I made
too many mistakes when I was when I was younger,
trying to get dude, don't fight, you're an idiot. And
then when they look at you like good off me,
they push you like now they're met at you. I'm like,
oh no, you know what, dude, go fight then go fight,
Go you want to go, go fight? Then I stopped
getting it. I said, if you want to fight, I
am not going to stop you now not going to
do it now.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
The Francona audio of it was great because he gets
he was awake for it. No Terry Francona, right, who
who found himself out of the game as well, suspended tonight.
But he was asked about the punch and corrected uh
the reporter who asked about which hand he got hit with,
and then goes, well, it's not funny. But and he's
pausing in the whole time the video, like he's trying
(06:10):
not to laugh and he's trying to watch what he's
saying so has to not endorse it. And it goes on.
But Anderson, after he'd gotten knocked down, he's groggy. He
gets helped up by several teammates. He gets off the field.
You've got a lot of pushing and shoving, and it
resurrects itself a couple of times, and then he tries
(06:31):
to come back on the field. He's still groggy, and look,
he's really man, I got knocked out. I gotta I
gotta find some way to get back at that, you
know exactly. I gotta finish it. And Andrew Vaughn was
just like, get over here. He stooped him up like
it was one of his kids. You gotta take the
l all right.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
There's a lot of look Tim Anderson is one of
those guys where he's very polarizing, and I've heard a
lot of stories from players that they don't they don't
particularly care for some of the things he does on
the field. And I don't know that there's a lot
of tears being shed over that fighting him getting knocked out.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Oh. I think there's a bunch of folks say the
fact that Ramira has had promo photos from like warm
ups and stuff where he's standing there in boxing gloves.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Paul, that's the next fight now, gonna Jake Paul is
the fighter, right, Jack Paul? Yeah, I know it's not
w W logan Paul not right right?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Okay. That was fun though, like he because he was
at Summer Slam and he put on a show and
he won with brass knuckles. It's funny because the guy
he fought the ring announcers fiance. So you got Ricochet
and then you got Samantha Irvin, who's fantastic and he's like,
you will say my name after the match, and he
gets the brass knuckles knocks out or fiance. He goes
(07:42):
gonna say my name. Now, I'm gonna fight the ring announcers.
That's right, Jason, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
From the amount of punches Tim Anderson messed or his
botting average, Hey, it's here.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Since the all you know, the All Star Break, he
was hitting near to four hundred. I'm pretty sure that's
not a step though. Hey, you look into splits.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Since getting knocked out, the White Sox have won two games.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
That's a whole other.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Thanks for lance Lynn, buddy, I hate you and everything
you stand. Two wins almost through the seventh today.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Sure he gave up like eleven runs. Yeah, Oh, it's fine.
Lance Lin's good. He's a fantastic innings eater.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Oh and I want to say this because obviously we're
gonna have to we have to get into the Kevin
Brown story coming up in a few minutes.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
The other big sporting event going on right now. The
United States in a THEBA exhibition game against Puerto Rico,
leads it with two and a half to go in
the fourth quarter, one oh seven to sixty nine, which
is good for the United States because I'm sure they
saw each other at the end of the first quarter
when Puerto Rico is getting them trouble, and they're all going, hey, guys,
(08:46):
if we don't put this together. You saw how quickly
Twitter turned on the US women's national team losing to Sweden.
We lose this game to Puerto Rico. Hey, we don't
want that right now. No, you're right, Jalen Brunson's getting
eybody together, going hey guys, let's go come on, let's
let's stand up here.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
We can't have them turn on us.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
We know, we don't want them to say, oh, look
at this United States team, they're all over rated. No,
I can't have it. So hey, it's gonna be a
big win for them over Puerto Rico tonight, and and
people will still love the the US men's basketball team.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Yeah, I mean, I see Jalen Brunson out there. They
would have said he can't win with the Knicks, and
now he's taken down Team USA. That would have been it.
That would have been that. Look, I made the joke
earlier about the US playing Puerto Rico. Uh that I
don't know how well it landed. Just why why aren't
they competing, you know, for jobs? But maybe maybe af
(09:34):
Puerto Rico had been able to pull off the upset
they get to to just take over the USA jerseys.
This was a loser leaves sound match. Yeah, no, it
didn't go over well just from a you know, why
are they playing this matchup? They're part of the US. Yeah, no,
it didn't go over. Well, I'll tell you what that
didn't go over.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Well, it didn't go he went The best part about
this game, guys, what's that Frostburg. It's not coming down
the peaks?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
No, no, it's it. They really did. But I mean
it was interesting for you know, at least the first half.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Uh, when Puerto Rico got up eight too, that was
where you could tell everybody's getting ready. Okay, this disappointing
US men's team. Yeah, let's see how you But they
didn't wear their fancy Nike sweatsuits taking pictures. Yeah, you
see with fans after the game.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Now are ready.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
I'm not gonna claim that this had rap pres send.
I want to press send, unleash hell over these last
two hours. I'm not gonna claim this head to my
raport game the first quarter, I got my tweets all
ready to send.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
I put five fire emojis at the end of it.
But you know, they didn't run away and hide until
late until the fourth really, but in the end it's
now a forty I mean they're gonna win. They're gonna
win by a lot. Yeah, Mellows coming in off the bench.
I saw him in an episode of SVU yesterday. Yes
(10:55):
he was Dan Laurier. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Mello had Mellow, had Mellow that he was an episode
of Sons of Anarchy. Mellow he's been on.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Let's see, was it s o A. Was he wearing
a hood? I don't know? Uh now, no, Mellow was
he did it? He did a bunch of TV shows
when he was with the Knicks. Yeah. And the guy
from the Wonder Years was the villain. He was a
coach that was doing bad things. Josh Saviano was the villain. No, no, no,
Dan Lauria.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Oh oh, I thought like his best friend. I thought no, no,
he was a lawyer. Remember Dan just said Saviana went
and became a lawyer. Not Marilyn Manson. Remember people thought
he was Marilyn Manson. It's not yes, no.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
No, it doesn't match up the timeline. So yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Luckily for Team USA, they will have they will avoid
the Twitter hate by beating Puerto Rico.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
I mean they struggled out of the gate. I mean
slow starts like that could come back to me, but
it doesn't matter against a better opponent. People that want
to root against Team USA from the United States, don't
watch the game. Just look at the final score. Any
of these guys say something that might get people mad today. Yeah,
Jalen Brunson said, the Knicks are winning it all, so
never do it.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
How do you say that.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
I don't want to get that big mouth Knicks, Jalen Brunson.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I'm not rooting for you.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
You want to wear fancy sweatsuits, you want to have commercials.
You just watch Jalen Brunson, what are you gonna do
with Modell's commercial in New York City?
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Modell's Yeah, And Jason for those comments, he's.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Been taking off the team and any kind of appearances indefinitely,
all right.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
The Orioles get word of it.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah, that's it, all right, all over. Angelos is knocking
on the door.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Coming up next. You guys can't derail us anymore. Ty Shirt,
don't play a stupid ass song. We have to get
into the West. Sail it high over the Cross.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
That's what Tyscher does. Every night with the song I
have just shoot sales mine. I'm entertained by the rich
tapestry he weaves.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
We are going to get into the Kevin Brown controversy
just getting bigger and bigger. And no, it is not
former MLB pitcher Kevin Brown. It is an Orioles broadcaster
who was suspended for reasons that have every single person
you listen to, whether it's a sports play by play guy,
an analyst, a sports talk radio host, everybody is mad about.
(13:20):
It's become such a huge story. We get into it.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Coming up next right here, Jason and Mike. This is
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (13:34):

not gonna believe who the player of the game was
(13:54):
for the United States and their win over Puerto Rico.
But we'll get to that. But hey, speaking of no
freedom here, how about the Orioles. So this huge controversy
has come up in the course of the last twenty
four hours regarding Kevin Brown, who is a TV broadcaster
for the Baltimore Orioles, and as Mike's so astute Lee
pointed out earlier in the show, not that Kevin Brown.
(14:16):
Kevin Brown's young broadcaster and he does the Orioles games
on TV. According to many sources, ESPN picked up the
story as well. He was suspended after saying some things
about the Orioles that had to do with their losing
streak against the Rays at the trap.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Just got ejected.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
This is audio from July twenty third, which is the
last time he was on television.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Now what happened.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
He goes on TV and it's the pregame and the
Orioles had won the first couple of games of the series,
and he's going to talk about how, hey, the Oils
can do something or they haven't done in a long time.
After this game, he went and did three games on
radio because something happened with one of the radio broadcasters
according to the story I read today, they didn't like
(15:07):
the attire the guy was were or the person was wearing.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
I don't know what that is. Man like someone like me.
I showed up in T shirts and shorts.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You can't broadcast a game of T shirts and churt
Why can't I know one's looking?
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I can do whatever I want.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
So after he did this game on TV Formas and
mid Atlantic Sports Network, which is where the Orioles are
with where the Oriols broadcaster game's on, he did three
games of radio because they had another controversy and he
has not been on the air since. And it has
been reported that he was suspended because he talked about
Baltimore's lack of success against the Rays at Tropicana Field
(15:41):
in previous years. So here's a bit of the pregame.
This is what he got suspended for. He is talking
about the Orioles in their record at the Trump in
recent years.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
This is not edited. This is word for word. It's
a minute, and.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
He's reading off of the TV screen in front of him.
The graphic that is put up there about the Orioles
trouble at the Trump over the course of the last
few years.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Let's hear it for the Orioles.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Brandon Heid has felt like this has been maybe the
toughest ballpark to play in.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
But the Orioles have a chance to do something special today.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
They've already clinched at least as split in the series,
winning two of the first three, and they could pick
up a series.
Speaker 5 (16:18):
Win behind Tyler Wells today.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
It's been a minute.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
The Orioles split a two gamer with the Rays in June.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
They had lost their last fifteen series here at Trump mccattafield.
You have to go back to when are now colleague
Brad Bronck picked up the win in the series finale
June twenty fifth, twenty seventeen, the last time the Orioles
won a series here at Saint p already got three
and two of the Trump this year after winning three
of eighteen the previous three years.
Speaker 5 (16:48):
Come Bine, it is a stark difference, Ben, and it
is not a bad race team.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
It's not like all of a sudden the race became
slouches in the American Leaguees.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
They've led this division every day.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
But now two and the Orioles once again our back
alone in first place.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Yeah, so that's all he said. Now they did go
on to win that game, won their first series at
the Trop, and you could go back to brad Brock
talking about that. That is what he was suspended for,
according to the to the reports, the front office, the owner,
Peter Angelos was upset that he talked about Baltimore's record
at the Trop negatively.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
I don't know how you make it up. Boy, even
great here at the Trop, we won eleven series in
a row. I don't have that. We've actually lost eleven series.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
That doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
I'm just gonna say we want him. I mean, look,
this is a story that you have seen. Now, your
favorite baseball broadcast are weigh in on. Steve Desager played
little bits of tonight. Three or four broadcasts people talked
about this on their broadcast. Michael k talked about this, another,
Gary Cohen talked about this. This has become a huge
story because he gets suspended. Now one of the few stories,
(17:52):
rare stories where there's there's no two sides on right,
because obviously this guy getting suspended for just reading off
a produced grant like they decided they had the whole
segment playing down this is what we're gonna do. We're
gonna we're gonna talk about this. We're gonna talk about this, right,
and he gets suspended and.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
No one.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
I mean, look, I love a good hot take, and
I'd love to see someone who can kind of turn
this and go, yeah, the guy should have been suspended.
So we're gonna take this conversation different direction. But the
first thing I want to say is suspended producer this
straight at Frostburg.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
You put this on air, and you put that card. Yeah,
I don't want to do it. I got a story.
I got a story about leaving leave it, leaving out
to dry. No, I got that story.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
The one thing I'm gonna say is this is so
ridiculous obviously that I wonder if it's not something else,
that it's gotta be something else, because to suspend him
for this, the the only thing I could think of
is Angelo somebody else had a bad five minutes they
turned the TV on for the game, going Okay, I
want to I want to lose myself in the game,
and then you see this boy.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
They haven't won here in forever. Oh dare you.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Talk about the negative? We're having a great season. You
want to talk about how we were playing here in
the drop our performance. You're talking about our performance, our performance.
Fire that guy you can't really find there's just that guy.
You got a text for raise ownership. That's all right,
that's okay. With the graphic we own you, I mean
(19:22):
with a picture of Aaron Rodgers, it's you're the Bears.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
It's it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Right. So that's the only thing I will say, is
is there another shoe to drop that we will find out? Look,
we just heard they had prompts potentially problems with someone
in their attire in the broadcast book. Jason, you can't
wear flip flops, man wear shorts. I know it's business
up top, but party down load.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
But you know what, sometimes the camera's gonna catch that
if you stand up, people can see in the booth.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
But I do want to say this because this is
maybe you don't understand. People don't know this as much
as they should. But you would be stunned at the
number of teams that control the broadcast and control what
they want their broadcasters to say that they are in
contral Hey, you are broadcasting on this station, you are
(20:12):
broadcasting for us. You are not going to say negative
things about the team, and if you do, we're gonna
have problems.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
Now.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
One of our longtime friends of the show happened to him.
He was let go from a team, major league team.
He did the pre and post for it, and I
was gonna call him today to come on the show,
and I don't know if he would want to do
it or not, but it happened to him because he
said something negative about the team, which was completely in bounds.
As long as you're not being personal, Alexi Lallis, Carly Lloyd,
(20:41):
as long as you're not being personal, hey, you know,
and you're not being over the top with we just
suck here, man, Tampa.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
We can't win for crap, man, We just why are
we even here?
Speaker 5 (20:52):
We just stink?
Speaker 3 (20:53):
And you shut up, Brad Brock.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I don't want to hear your crap anymore about the
last time we won a game.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
You I've been hearing that crap.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
For years, I really, unless there is something like that.
But you hear stories like this a lot about how
teams control the broadcast. And I guarantee you this, I
guarantee you with the way this story is spread in
the next twenty five I would say less than that.
Probably the next twelve twelve ish to sixteen hours or so,
(21:23):
you're gonna see broadcasters who no longer broadcast for a
specific team. They're gonna go on a podcast, They're gonna
do interviews saying you're not gonna be when I worked
for the White Sox, when I worked for the Mets,
when I worked for the Jets, when I worked for
the Cowboys. And I'm just throwing to you, I'm not
saying anything.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Well, I want to.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
You wouldn't believe what they told me I could and
couldn't say about the team, how I got in trouble
one time for it. I mean, you're gonna just tell
all kinds of stories. The story sets out there.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
You can't say this about some other show or reference
something else. And it goes across all networks, right, I
mean you and your time at ESPN, certainly you know
we're in a large network of networks. To put it,
to put it, I guess in its basis terms, and
you know the rules of engagement as you go through
(22:14):
and in this case you read a graphic. Yeah right,
but I mean plenty of teams. Look, if your team's bad,
I mean, there's there's only so so many ways to
sugarcoat it. I see this all the time, right, Steve Stone,
who broadcasts for the White Sox, he's brutally honest and
you can like it or not. And at this point
Ryan's dwarf and all the White Sox brass have comes
(22:36):
to terms with he's not gonna sugarcoat it. But you're
also going to be as soon as folks get into
the personal attacks on players or whatever, all right, that's
where you got to draw the line. But if you're bad,
you're your fans, your audience. They're not idiots. They've been
watching the team with you. They've watched, you know, starters
(22:57):
struggle or the bullpen flailing, or maybe your manager looks
out of sorts. I mean, we watched the Tony Larus's stuff,
and we certainly watched the commentary there, but just team
the team, like you gotta be honest with folks. But
clearly with Angelos and the Orioles, for as much as
there was losing, it was like, you need to pay
(23:18):
attention to twenty twenty three. We're winning now. We caught
them focus on the good and instead now we have
this debacle and whatever em and it's from this.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
But the other shoe has to drop at some point, right,
I mean this was this was a produced graphic that
they decided in the meeting. Hey, we're gonna talk about
this now, are we gonna find out?
Speaker 3 (23:39):
It was his idea?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Hey, we should do something about the because that's what
they do. There's a big meeting before the show and you, Hey,
what do we want to talk about pregame? Okay, let's
talk about that. Hey, let's talk about the fact we
could win a series here they haven't.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
We haven't done it.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Great, doesn't matter if it's his idea, the producer's idea.
It could he could have just been following along, Hey
we're gonna do Oh that's a great idea. Let's talk
about Hey, they're on the chance to do something and
they haven't done in so long. It's been so long here,
and and you get hung out to dry.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
I would say this like, in terms of his delivery,
his performance, that maybe he should have sold a little
bit harder of Hey, that was yesterday. This is today.
It's a new era. These are all old data points
and we're now in first place. Yeah, I mean, I
but is that suspendable?
Speaker 4 (24:22):
No?
Speaker 3 (24:23):
No, I mean that's just the critique of all right,
maybe you could have emphasized how this team is performing
and how different things are now. But I mean that's
just I mean, that's just finding the small details of
it all. You know, in the end, you can't run
from the past, the futility of the Wow. Look, how
(24:46):
sucky we Wow?
Speaker 5 (24:47):
I didn't know.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
I didn't have any idea we.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
Were that bad.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
You guys know how much money I won betting against
us at the Trap the last four years.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
I won so much I kept doubling the bet every
single time.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
I'm we ate five million dollars betting against the Orioles
because I knew we sucked and weren't gonna win.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
But how many times have you did you like doing
a video? Uh, work for for Fox for Yahoo for years.
Every once in a while they'd surprised you with the graphic.
He's like, and here's one that you didn't know. Like anyway,
it was clear he knew the particulars of what they
were talking about, you know, getting prepped for his broadcast.
So it wasn't like, Wow, they really pulled this out.
(25:26):
I had no idea. Here's a bunch of data points
that were beyond me, and I was like, Wow, we've
really been that bad? Yeah? Yeah, what was going on
in this organization? What have we been doing around? We
don't talk about the times we were bad.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
So what from like nineteen ninety six until let's see,
we don't we talk about that from Cal Ripkins Junior's
last game till whole last week the day after Ripper
retired to now, we don't talk about it. We don't
talk about it when there's some more highlights of Brady Anderson.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
So if we find out, guys that this is really
all he did and there was nothing else that got
him suspended indefinitely, how quickly does he get his job back?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Do you think it's got to be pretty fast? But
because the Oris, it is the Orioles. And then you
look at teams, like I said, teams go on their
own wavelength for things.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
We don't care.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
We don't want to present the Orioles in this way.
We don't want people to think that we are negative.
We don't want to, we don't want or we don't
want our fans that great sports town, we don't want
fans to think that we're being negative towards our team.
I'm telling you what they'll say. I'm telling you what
they'll say. No, everything is, there's no other side to this.
The story is ridiculously bad. But that's what they'll say.
(26:39):
And now that this has become a thing, the one
thing the Orioles don't want, We don't want this to
be a story while we're playing so well. If you
don't want bad stories while you're playing so well, and
you don't like you suspended the guides taken away, give
him his job back, put him back on the exactly.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
But this has not become the biggest story. And obviously
it's been a minute since this transpired. Yeah, right now
it's the biggest story in sports. It is like this
is now Trump the PK disaster that was the US
Women's National Wait a seck, Mike, she missed. Spoiler.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Sophia Smith is writing a note of thanks to the
dear Baltimore Orioles, thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
But that's the other thing.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Because of the hatred of Repino, Sophia Smith got off
three for what like Jason's sister. Yeah, but like we
brought it up as like you and I texted each
other yesterday, go what the hell was that?
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Man?
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Like the moment was huge? Is you, Big O'Hara comes in.
I mean, like, all these things going on and it
all became about Repino. Well, today it's it's all about
the Orioles, the feel good story of Major League Baseball,
the young kids finally battling in the Al East, finally
up in the standings, and all these young heroes plus
(27:52):
the minor leagues. Were they gonna be buyers at the
deadline because of all the assets in the minor league?
And instead now it's about Hey, suspended a guy for
recognizing how terrible your past was.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
Who hates America? Is trending right now? It's up for
grabs between the Orioles owner and Megan Rapino.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Is it a poll on the on Twitter? Now?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Can I pick one of the other Twitter and out
about a Fresco Mike gets swollen Dome hotel. You watched them,
but watch the stories that come out over the course
of the next twelve to sixteen hours.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

Speaker 3 (28:34):

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Well dressed Tobo.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
We'll have more on the big developing Orioles broadcast story.
You want a story, I'll kick it off. You want
a story about getting hung out to dry when you're broadcasting?
Do I have a story for you coming up and tell?
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
But in Phoeba tonight, the United States don't have a
big problem with Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico got out to
an eight to two lead. You can tell the maist
of the keyboard or sitting here gun, I can't lait.
I'm gonna give them the same treatment as a women's nationalty.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
I like burn it.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
But Jalen Brunson, who head coach Steve Kerr called Team
USA's natural leader, Knicks are going to the finals this year.
Uh eleven points, twelve rebounds. Anthony Edwards had had fifteen
four Team USA in their forty point win.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
You know what he should trade for him? Maybe he
could have quelled all the garbage with Jordan Poole and
Draymond Green because they sure as held in to have
a leader in the locker room to do that last year.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Well, you know what about that?
Speaker 3 (29:34):
It's good that you bring up Draymond Green.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Because you know, once in a while, I feel like, oh,
this shot is taken at a game of people in
the stands, because there's a reason for it, right like
this a week like I remember when Callista Flockhart was
on Ally mcbeil is a big deal about how thin
she was, and I remember during a during a World
Series game, she was at the game and they showed
her eating a hot dog. It's like, we want to
show her eating to show you that she eats, right,
(29:56):
you know that's a So before the game's going on tonight,
it's the first quarter and again Jalen Brunson is just phenomenal,
And it's the first quarter and they take a good
minute to show that Draymond Green and Kevin Durant are
sitting next to each other on the sideline talking to
each other. Now, it didn't look like they were having
(30:18):
this great conversation, but I'm watching it, but I'm watching
it go and they look like they were put next
to each other. And then Draymond says something after a
few seconds, and then Kat says something and raises his eyebrows,
and I go, oh, this is just so awkward.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
It's so awkward that they're sitting here and have to
talk to each other.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Hey, the cameras are on us. Maybe Draymond's like, people
think I'm a good guy. Now I could sit and
have and and and and talk with Kevin Durant. You know,
everybody likes me.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Everybody.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
I mean, it's something they bro to the game together
or hanging out. We're going out for drinks after or
something like that.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
I was gonna who who is the mastermind to that?
Here's yours, here's your? Who am I sitting next to?
Who's out? And you wait for it?
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Wait, Kevin, your hang on, Draymond, your agent wants to
talk to you. Hey, yeah, hey, d listen. I thought
it would be a good idea if you sat next
to KD so people would think, maybe it's not your
fault that you're getting in fights and people are getting
kicked off your team. Well what do you think? Do
you think that's a good idea or not? Hey, that's
a good hat. They had a bowl of soup. It
looked like they were both wearing the same hat much
(31:22):
they were both They're both wearing black bucket hats.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Yeah, and Katie's firing his ticket broker, that's for sure.
You made me sit next to this guy. You know
how much I had to sit next him when we played.
Now I don't have to, and you're making me do
it again.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Well, like every picture of KD is his arms are
fold and he just staring blankly at the Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
A miserable tar. It's just so awkward. And watching this
up the video for like twenty seconds, they're just sitting there.
No one's saying anything, and I'm like, guys, when you
guys say something? When do you guys just say something
so it doesn't look so awkward, But it looked like
that was the biggest uh photo op ever. Hey, we're
gonna Draymond. We're gonna You're gonna sit next to k D.
From how long do I have to sit there? Just
(32:03):
we're gonna get a cut away during the first quarter
and then he can go wherever you want to. Fine, Fine,
I'll do it this will You said? This is all
my image?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Yeah, I'll help your image.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
You know how you wouldn't be sitting next to him
if you played.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Lucky for them, Austin Reeves was playing the night.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
No, that's just it. He was the guy that Austin
Reeves Captain America right, and he'll help you get rid
of your lemon car too. Here in La x La Samata,
Fresca x at Swollen Dome.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Coming up next, back into that biggest developing story out
of baseball we have have Fox wish you could play
Soger
