And now still he's acting like he won the fight. Well,
but but it starts with Ramirez being a hard guy, right,
I mean, Anderson tags and kind of stands there. Didn't
like that, didn't like the tag, and so he got
upset and got out of pocket. Evidently they were dawn before,
so you got a little bit of a backstory. And
then all of a sudden they're squaring off and the

umpire gets out of this hockey fight. Now we're gonna
do it until there's a third man in. Let's you go.

You know, I always let people fight. Now, I made
too many mistakes when I was when I was younger,
trying to get dude, don't fight, you're an idiot. And
then when they look at you like good off me,
they push you like now they're met at you. I'm like,
oh no, you know what, dude, go fight then go fight,
Go you want to go, go fight? Then I stopped
getting it. I said, if you want to fight, I
am not going to stop you now not going to
do it now.

The Francona audio of it was great because he gets
he was awake for it. No Terry Francona, right, who
who found himself out of the game as well, suspended tonight.
But he was asked about the punch and corrected uh
the reporter who asked about which hand he got hit with,
and then goes, well, it's not funny. But and he's
pausing in the whole time the video, like he's trying

But Anderson, after he'd gotten knocked down, he's groggy. He
gets helped up by several teammates. He gets off the field.
You've got a lot of pushing and shoving, and it
resurrects itself a couple of times, and then he tries

to come back on the field. He's still groggy, and look,
he's really man, I got knocked out. I gotta I
gotta find some way to get back at that, you
know exactly. I gotta finish it. And Andrew Vaughn was
just like, get over here. He stooped him up like
it was one of his kids. You gotta take the

There's a lot of look Tim Anderson is one of
those guys where he's very polarizing, and I've heard a
lot of stories from players that they don't they don't
particularly care for some of the things he does on
the field. And I don't know that there's a lot
of tears being shed over that fighting him getting knocked out.

Oh. I think there's a bunch of folks say the
fact that Ramira has had promo photos from like warm
ups and stuff where he's standing there in boxing gloves.

when Puerto Rico is getting them trouble, and they're all going, hey, guys,

if we don't put this together. You saw how quickly
Twitter turned on the US women's national team losing to Sweden.
We lose this game to Puerto Rico. Hey, we don't

don't know how well it landed. Just why why aren't
they competing, you know, for jobs? But maybe maybe af

Puerto Rico had been able to pull off the upset
they get to to just take over the USA jerseys.
This was a loser leaves sound match. Yeah, no, it
didn't go over well just from a you know, why
are they playing this matchup? They're part of the US. Yeah, no,

freedom here, how about the Orioles. So this huge controversy
has come up in the course of the last twenty
four hours regarding Kevin Brown, who is a TV broadcaster
for the Baltimore Orioles, and as Mike's so astute Lee
pointed out earlier in the show, not that Kevin Brown.

Kevin Brown's young broadcaster and he does the Orioles games
on TV. According to many sources, ESPN picked up the
story as well. He was suspended after saying some things
about the Orioles that had to do with their losing
streak against the Rays at the trap.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Just got ejected.

This is audio from July twenty third, which is the
last time he was on television.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Now what happened.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
He goes on TV and it's the pregame and the
Orioles had won the first couple of games of the series,
and he's going to talk about how, hey, the Oils
can do something or they haven't done in a long time.
After this game, he went and did three games on
radio because something happened with one of the radio broadcasters
according to the story I read today, they didn't like

the attire the guy was were or the person was wearing.

I don't know what that is. Man like someone like me.
I showed up in T shirts and shorts.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You can't broadcast a game of T shirts and churt

So after he did this game on TV Formas and
mid Atlantic Sports Network, which is where the Orioles are
with where the Oriols broadcaster game's on, he did three
games of radio because they had another controversy and he
has not been on the air since. And it has
been reported that he was suspended because he talked about
Baltimore's lack of success against the Rays at Tropicana Field

in previous years. So here's a bit of the pregame.
This is what he got suspended for. He is talking
about the Orioles in their record at the Trump in
recent years.

He's reading off of the TV screen in front of him.

trouble at the Trump over the course of the last
few years.

Peter Angelos was upset that he talked about Baltimore's record
at the Trop negatively.

I don't know how you make it up. Boy, even
great here at the Trop, we won eleven series in
a row. I don't have that. We've actually lost eleven series.

I'm just gonna say we want him. I mean, look,
this is a story that you have seen. Now, your
favorite baseball broadcast are weigh in on. Steve Desager played
little bits of tonight. Three or four broadcasts people talked
about this on their broadcast. Michael k talked about this, another,
Gary Cohen talked about this. This has become a huge
story because he gets suspended. Now one of the few stories,

rare stories where there's there's no two sides on right,
because obviously this guy getting suspended for just reading off
a produced grant like they decided they had the whole
segment playing down this is what we're gonna do. We're
gonna we're gonna talk about this. We're gonna talk about this, right,
and he gets suspended and.

I mean, look, I love a good hot take, and
I'd love to see someone who can kind of turn

But you know what, sometimes the camera's gonna catch that
if you stand up, people can see in the booth.

But I do want to say this because this is
maybe you don't understand. People don't know this as much
as they should. But you would be stunned at the
number of teams that control the broadcast and control what
they want their broadcasters to say that they are in

broadcasting for us. You are not going to say negative
things about the team, and if you do, we're gonna
have problems.

One of our longtime friends of the show happened to him.
He was let go from a team, major league team.
He did the pre and post for it, and I
was gonna call him today to come on the show,
and I don't know if he would want to do
it or not, but it happened to him because he
said something negative about the team, which was completely in bounds.

and you're not being over the top with we just

you're gonna see broadcasters who no longer broadcast for a
specific team. They're gonna go on a podcast, They're gonna
do interviews saying you're not gonna be when I worked
for the White Sox, when I worked for the Mets,
when I worked for the Jets, when I worked for
the Cowboys. And I'm just throwing to you, I'm not
saying anything.

You wouldn't believe what they told me I could and
couldn't say about the team, how I got in trouble
one time for it. I mean, you're gonna just tell
all kinds of stories. The story sets out there.

something else. And it goes across all networks, right, I
mean you and your time at ESPN, certainly you know
we're in a large network of networks. To put it,
to put it, I guess in its basis terms, and
you know the rules of engagement as you go through

but I mean plenty of teams. Look, if your team's bad,
I mean, there's there's only so so many ways to
sugarcoat it. I see this all the time, right, Steve Stone,
who broadcasts for the White Sox, he's brutally honest and
you can like it or not. And at this point
Ryan's dwarf and all the White Sox brass have comes

to terms with he's not gonna sugarcoat it. But you're
also going to be as soon as folks get into
the personal attacks on players or whatever, all right, that's
where you got to draw the line. But if you're bad,
you're your fans, your audience. They're not idiots. They've been
watching the team with you. They've watched, you know, starters

struggle or the bullpen flailing, or maybe your manager looks
out of sorts. I mean, we watched the Tony Larus's stuff,
and we certainly watched the commentary there, but just team
the team, like you gotta be honest with folks. But
clearly with Angelos and the Orioles, for as much as
there was losing, it was like, you need to pay

attention to twenty twenty three. We're winning now. We caught
them focus on the good and instead now we have
this debacle and whatever em and it's from this.

But the other shoe has to drop at some point, right,
I mean this was this was a produced graphic that
they decided in the meeting. Hey, we're gonna talk about
this now, are we gonna find out?

It was his idea?

Hey, we should do something about the because that's what
they do. There's a big meeting before the show and you, Hey,

I would say this like, in terms of his delivery,
his performance, that maybe he should have sold a little

last game till whole last week the day after Ripper
retired to now, we don't talk about it. We don't
talk about it when there's some more highlights of Brady Anderson.

So if we find out, guys that this is really
all he did and there was nothing else that got
him suspended indefinitely, how quickly does he get his job back?

Do you think it's got to be pretty fast? But

own wavelength for things.

upset and got out of pocket. Evidently they were dawn before,
so you got a little bit of a backstory. And
then all of a sudden they're squaring off and the

umpire gets out of this hockey fight. Now we're gonna
do it until there's a third man in. Let's you go.

You know, I always let people fight. Now, I made
too many mistakes when I was when I was younger,
trying to get dude, don't fight, you're an idiot. And
then when they look at you like good off me,
they push you like now they're met at you. I'm like,
oh no, you know what, dude, go fight then go fight,
Go you want to go, go fight? Then I stopped
getting it. I said, if you want to fight, I

The Francona audio of it was great because he gets
he was awake for it. No Terry Francona, right, who

But he was asked about the punch and corrected uh

There's a lot of look Tim Anderson is one of
those guys where he's very polarizing, and I've heard a
lot of stories from players that they don't they don't
particularly care for some of the things he does on

freedom here, how about the Orioles. So this huge controversy
has come up in the course of the last twenty
four hours regarding Kevin Brown, who is a TV broadcaster
for the Baltimore Orioles, and as Mike's so astute Lee
pointed out earlier in the show, not that Kevin Brown.
(14:16):
Kevin Brown's young broadcaster and he does the Orioles games
on TV. According to many sources, ESPN picked up the
story as well. He was suspended after saying some things
about the Orioles that had to do with their losing
streak against the Rays at the trap.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Just got ejected.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
This is audio from July twenty third, which is the
last time he was on television.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Now what happened.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
He goes on TV and it's the pregame and the
Orioles had won the first couple of games of the series,
and he's going to talk about how, hey, the Oils
can do something or they haven't done in a long time.
After this game, he went and did three games on
radio because something happened with one of the radio broadcasters
according to the story I read today, they didn't like

the attire the guy was were or the person was wearing.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
I don't know what that is. Man like someone like me.
I showed up in T shirts and shorts.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You can't broadcast a game of T shirts and churt
Why can't I know one's looking?

So after he did this game on TV Formas and
mid Atlantic Sports Network, which is where the Orioles are
with where the Oriols broadcaster game's on, he did three
games of radio because they had another controversy and he
has not been on the air since. And it has
been reported that he was suspended because he talked about
Baltimore's lack of success against the Rays at Tropicana Field

in previous years. So here's a bit of the pregame.
This is what he got suspended for. He is talking
about the Orioles in their record at the Trump in
recent years.

trouble at the Trump over the course of the last
few years.

won a series here at Saint p already got three
and two of the Trump this year after winning three
of eighteen the previous three years.

on to win that game, won their first series at

talking about that. That is what he was suspended for,
according to the to the reports, the front office, the owner,
Peter Angelos was upset that he talked about Baltimore's record
at the Trop negatively.

I don't know how you make it up. Boy, even
great here at the Trop, we won eleven series in
a row. I don't have that. We've actually lost eleven series.

That doesn't matter.

I'm just gonna say we want him. I mean, look,
this is a story that you have seen. Now, your
favorite baseball broadcast are weigh in on. Steve Desager played
little bits of tonight. Three or four broadcasts people talked
about this on their broadcast. Michael k talked about this, another,
Gary Cohen talked about this. This has become a huge
story because he gets suspended. Now one of the few stories,

rare stories where there's there's no two sides on right,
because obviously this guy getting suspended for just reading off
a produced grant like they decided they had the whole
segment playing down this is what we're gonna do. We're
gonna we're gonna talk about this. We're gonna talk about this, right,
and he gets suspended and.

I mean, look, I love a good hot take, and
I'd love to see someone who can kind of turn
this and go, yeah, the guy should have been suspended.
So we're gonna take this conversation different direction. But the

You put this on air, and you put that card. Yeah,
I don't want to do it. I got a story.

and then you see this boy.

Talk about the negative? We're having a great season. You
want to talk about how we were playing here in
the drop our performance. You're talking about our performance, our performance.
Fire that guy you can't really find there's just that guy.

Right. So that's the only thing I will say, is
is there another shoe to drop that we will find out? Look,
we just heard they had prompts potentially problems with someone
in their attire in the broadcast book. Jason, you can't
wear flip flops, man wear shorts. I know it's business
up top, but party down load.

But you know what, sometimes the camera's gonna catch that
if you stand up, people can see in the booth.

But I do want to say this because this is
maybe you don't understand. People don't know this as much
as they should. But you would be stunned at the
number of teams that control the broadcast and control what
they want their broadcasters to say that they are in
contral Hey, you are broadcasting on this station, you are

broadcasting for us. You are not going to say negative
things about the team, and if you do, we're gonna
have problems.

One of our longtime friends of the show happened to him.
He was let go from a team, major league team.
He did the pre and post for it, and I
was gonna call him today to come on the show,
and I don't know if he would want to do
it or not, but it happened to him because he
said something negative about the team, which was completely in bounds.

and you're not being over the top with we just

guarantee you with the way this story is spread in
the next twenty five I would say less than that.
Probably the next twelve twelve ish to sixteen hours or so,

you're gonna see broadcasters who no longer broadcast for a
specific team. They're gonna go on a podcast, They're gonna
do interviews saying you're not gonna be when I worked
for the White Sox, when I worked for the Mets,
when I worked for the Jets, when I worked for
the Cowboys. And I'm just throwing to you, I'm not
saying anything.

Well, I want to.

You wouldn't believe what they told me I could and
couldn't say about the team, how I got in trouble
one time for it. I mean, you're gonna just tell
all kinds of stories. The story sets out there.

You can't say this about some other show or reference
something else. And it goes across all networks, right, I
mean you and your time at ESPN, certainly you know
we're in a large network of networks. To put it,
to put it, I guess in its basis terms, and
you know the rules of engagement as you go through

and in this case you read a graphic. Yeah right,
but I mean plenty of teams. Look, if your team's bad,
I mean, there's there's only so so many ways to
sugarcoat it. I see this all the time, right, Steve Stone,
who broadcasts for the White Sox, he's brutally honest and
you can like it or not. And at this point
Ryan's dwarf and all the White Sox brass have comes

to terms with he's not gonna sugarcoat it. But you're
also going to be as soon as folks get into
the personal attacks on players or whatever, all right, that's
where you got to draw the line. But if you're bad,
you're your fans, your audience. They're not idiots. They've been
watching the team with you. They've watched, you know, starters

struggle or the bullpen flailing, or maybe your manager looks
out of sorts. I mean, we watched the Tony Larus's stuff,
and we certainly watched the commentary there, but just team
the team, like you gotta be honest with folks. But
clearly with Angelos and the Orioles, for as much as
there was losing, it was like, you need to pay

attention to twenty twenty three. We're winning now. We caught
them focus on the good and instead now we have
this debacle and whatever em and it's from this.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
But the other shoe has to drop at some point, right,
I mean this was this was a produced graphic that
they decided in the meeting. Hey, we're gonna talk about
this now, are we gonna find out?
Speaker 3 (23:39):
It was his idea?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Hey, we should do something about the because that's what
they do. There's a big meeting before the show and you, Hey,
what do we want to talk about pregame? Okay, let's
talk about that. Hey, let's talk about the fact we
could win a series here they haven't.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
We haven't done it.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Great, doesn't matter if it's his idea, the producer's idea.
It could he could have just been following along, Hey
we're gonna do Oh that's a great idea. Let's talk
about Hey, they're on the chance to do something and
they haven't done in so long. It's been so long here,
and and you get hung out to dry.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
I would say this like, in terms of his delivery,
his performance, that maybe he should have sold a little
bit harder of Hey, that was yesterday. This is today.
It's a new era. These are all old data points
and we're now in first place. Yeah, I mean, I
but is that suspendable?

No, I mean that's just the critique of all right,
maybe you could have emphasized how this team is performing
and how different things are now. But I mean that's
just I mean, that's just finding the small details of
it all. You know, in the end, you can't run
from the past, the futility of the Wow. Look, how

I didn't have any idea we.

You guys know how much money I won betting against

I'm we ate five million dollars betting against the Orioles
because I knew we sucked and weren't gonna win.

But how many times have you did you like doing
a video? Uh, work for for Fox for Yahoo for years.
Every once in a while they'd surprised you with the graphic.
He's like, and here's one that you didn't know. Like anyway,
it was clear he knew the particulars of what they
were talking about, you know, getting prepped for his broadcast.
So it wasn't like, Wow, they really pulled this out.

I had no idea. Here's a bunch of data points
that were beyond me, and I was like, Wow, we've
really been that bad? Yeah? Yeah, what was going on
in this organization? What have we been doing around? We
don't talk about the times we were bad.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
So what from like nineteen ninety six until let's see,
we don't we talk about that from Cal Ripkins Junior's
last game till whole last week the day after Ripper
retired to now, we don't talk about it. We don't
talk about it when there's some more highlights of Brady Anderson.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
So if we find out, guys that this is really
all he did and there was nothing else that got
him suspended indefinitely, how quickly does he get his job back?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Do you think it's got to be pretty fast? But
because the Oris, it is the Orioles. And then you
look at teams, like I said, teams go on their
own wavelength for things.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
We don't care.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
We don't want to present the Orioles in this way.
We don't want people to think that we are negative.
We don't want to, we don't want or we don't
want our fans that great sports town, we don't want
fans to think that we're being negative towards our team.
I'm telling you what they'll say. I'm telling you what
they'll say. No, everything is, there's no other side to this.
The story is ridiculously bad. But that's what they'll say.

And now that this has become a thing, the one
thing the Orioles don't want, We don't want this to
be a story while we're playing so well. If you
don't want bad stories while you're playing so well, and
you don't like you suspended the guides taken away, give
him his job back, put him back on the exactly.

But this has not become the biggest story. And obviously
it's been a minute since this transpired. Yeah, right now
it's the biggest story in sports. It is like this
is now Trump the PK disaster that was the US

this great conversation, but I'm watching it, but I'm watching
it go and they look like they were put next
to each other. And then Draymond says something after a
few seconds, and then Kat says something and raises his eyebrows,
and I go, oh, this is just so awkward.
