Speaker 3 (01:00):
We're in the studio rowing the boat for these guys
so that we at least have some entertaining fourth quarter
football because this game is choke.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, I don't know what do you expect?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Come on one of the did you bet?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
You sound like you bet this game like you feel
upset on Friday night.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
I want to see ten special of a game that
is contested last week because last week Ian's USC Trojans,
including that illegal play they ran all over my Wildcats.
By the way, he's getting ready to sit in the
rain tomorrow. He's got his uh slicker, yes, and he's
gonna look like the long shoreman from I Know What
(01:37):
You Did last summer as he gets ready to sit
in the rainfall here in Los Angeles.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I'll tell you from someone who has sat in the
rain for football games, there is no more miserable feeling
than sitting in the rain watching a football game.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
It is really miserable.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Well, it depends on the temperature though, Like if you're
sitting if it's warm and it's raining, it's not quite
as bad. If it's just cold.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
And rain, tomorrow would be cold and you've got the
Iowa offense coming in.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
When Pam and I first met, we we've only been
dating for a few months, but like I said, we
knew like right away we were gonna be together and
it was so we take a trip. Michigan's playing Penn
State in Penn State, and she's like, oh, we'll go
to the game. Because we both times we were living
in Connecticut working the espen Like, yeah, we'll drive to
Penn State.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
We'll go for the week.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
It'll be great, Right, So we drive to Penn State.
It's in November, and it's absolutely miserable. It it snowed
and then it was raining the entire the entire day.
The whole day, my feet are just sitting in water.
And it was and it was turned out to be
the snowball game like that, there was a bit it was.
It was when when Joe Paturno had to get on
(02:42):
the microphone and yell people stop throwing snowballs because people
throwing snowballs and the Michigan players, like Michigan lost the
game and they had the snowballs being thrown and my
feet were just in water the entire time.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I was so done.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Afterwards, we went to a pizzeria, uh somewhere in State College.
I can't even tell you. I sat down in the
booth and I fell asleep, and I fell asleep sitting
up until the pizza came. That's that's how miserable experience.
Sitting in the rain, the rain after the snow awful.
I never want to do it again.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Never so Ian.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
There's what you have to live up to tomorrow. Pizza.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
If you fell asleep, you can't have been that uncomfortable, Jason.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
No, no, no, fell asleep in the pizzeria after the game. No,
I mean I was feet in water the entire time
at the game.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah, I was awful, all that extra energy, but hey,
good luck, man, have fun.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Yeah, you guys are making me really excited.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
But how often do you get to go see a
game in the quote unquote elements here in Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
I'm seeing the game in the elements.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
It's rare for sure, right, I mean, we don't get
a lot of those.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
So this is that's something.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oregon leads Minnesota right now, thirty five thirteen, early in
the fourth quarter, Oregon driving in for what's going to
be another score. We got Pete fu Tech coming up
in about fifteen minutes for all the latest, all the
big picks for tomorrow in college football. But listen, it
takes something really crazy to take away from a football Friday,
and we have to get to this for a couple
of minutes, because this is just an insane highlight and
(04:10):
something you'll see and go, I can't believe this happened
so tonight in women's college basketball, West Virginia upsets Duke Right.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Okay, Duke top twenty team West Virginia with the upset. Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
But here's what makes this game absolutely something special. End
of the first half, West Virginia holding for the final
shot of the first half, down twenty three to twenty.
Jordan Harrison goes up for a three and Jordan Wood
comes in and blocks it right. So final play in
the first half is a block. Wood kind of gets
in Harrison's face and yells at her. Because she gets
(04:43):
right in her face and blocks it right and blind,
she starts yelling at her. Harrison doesn't like it. Harrison
then shoves Wood. Jordan Wood shoves her back, and now
all of a sudden there's a bit of a frakus
on the court. Except what happens is the players on
West Virginia his bench all run out on the court.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Oh no.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
You can see Sidney Shaw, one of their guards, one
of their best players, yelling no, get back, get back,
get back, And then you see her just gets crestfallen
because she knows everybody's getting ejected.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Because you know the rule, you can't come off.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
The bench, put the hands all the way up one.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
She's going, she's going, no, get back, get back, and
then she was too late. And then she hugged her teammates,
which were awesome because obviously they wanted to come out support.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
But you got to know the rule.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Six players, including Harrison because she was involved in the
in the pushing and shoving at the end, were rejected.
The five players that came off the bench and Harrison,
that's their entire roster. They had to play the second
half with five players, only one starter the entire second half.
That's all West Virginia had. And how did this game end?
(05:51):
As I said, with West Virginia beating Duke fifty seven
forty nine, they had five players and one of their
players picked up her fourth foul like early in the
fourth quarter where she had one more.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
They had finished with four and my team's on the corn.
So probably it was the opener of the Greenbrier tip
Off college games played this weekend and next weekend a
Colonial Hall and the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulfur Springs,
West Virginia. Mark Kellogg, Well, you see sports, things like
(06:24):
that happened. Sometimes you just have to rally around each other.
I'm proud of that group of five. One of those
moments where you don't really know what to say, but
that's as good a win as I've probably ever had.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Oh come on, man, you're playing five people in the
second half against the top twenty team and you have one.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Starter on the floor.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
That's amazing.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And I mean, to be able to win that, I mean,
that's just that's just an incredible achievement right there.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Yeah, I mean the the altercation that leads to it
is fairly silly and seemingly innocuous, and it escalates so fast.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Well yeah, because no really, because you look at why
this escalated. And yeah, Jordan Wood gets in Jordan Harrison's face.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Okay, I shouldn't do that, right.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
If you want to yell because you block a shot, great,
you want to yell and yell a yell off it,
but you kind of get in her face right there,
and then Jordan Harrison can't walk away and pushes are like, okay,
now it's on, right, because once you push somebody, there's
that physical contact. There's no put in the you know,
the toothpaste back in the tube on this. But like
that's something where really Jordan would you know, is the
(07:29):
one who started this bite by getting in her face.
But man, you gotta know, you can't come off the
bench like that, like you like anybody that's watched one
half of any basketball game in their life knows.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
You can't come off the bench. Can't come off the bench.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Man, if you get off the bench, you're automatically ejected
from the game.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
And I can't believe.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Sydney Show seemed to be the only one that knew
that rule. Go back to nineteen ninety seven. Uh, man,
I'll tell you any heat New York Nicks.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Oh, go back to the sun Spurs playoff right where
all the Sons players step on the court.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
And get ejected.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
And and uh, one player was it, Boris d O I
think just put one foot on the court and then
step back, and they still ejected them. And and David
cern was doing radio interviews about how I'm gonna wrestle
with you guys on this.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
We had to make this. These guys had to go.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
It's like wow, okay, like he was really gonna you know,
he wanted to die on that hill of We're suspending
all the Suns players, uh, you know for this.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
And and then and the Spurs wound up going on
to win the series.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
I mean, I mean that's something you know, can't can't
come on the court surprised.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
That he didn't just record all sorts of stuff that
made him the leader in perpetuity for the NBA.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Man, Well, well, like he should have foreseen ai coming
up that he'd be the guy.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Again like in Marvel, like I said, that guy in
the computer.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Uh so again.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Big shout out to West Virginia winning that game, which
play in the second half, and yeah, kind of embarrassing
for Duke, not just to lose the game, but to
lose to five players and to lose to four bench players.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
That's now you're too good.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Look now, Big Football Friday, one of the big games
we haven't gotten to this week. I'm gonna make you
very happy again, Mike Harmon. Oh no, it's been a
long time since Week one. And as I've told you,
if I'm in on the Bears, i am in on
the Bears. It's a big week for both teams, Like
this is one of those sneaky big games because the
(09:25):
Bears need to prove that hey, we can get to
seven and three and be viewed as a big time contender,
not just hey, we have things going together and we're
winning a bunch of games. Yes, we're pulling games out.
They need this game to show, hey, we have a
little bit of separation in the division. We're just as good.
We're keeping pace with the Lions.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Babe.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Maybe we catch them because they got a tough game
against the Eagles on Sunday. But it's even bigger for
Minnesota because Minnesota is just rubbing all kinds of rosary
beads and and and and and and lighting candles. Going man,
JJ McCarthy, just please show us a lit little bit
that you're gonna be good, because we can't we can't
just get tagged with the fact that we let two
(10:05):
better quarterbacks out of the building because we stubbornly went
in on an unproven rookie who was hurt all last
year and we had one guy that threw for four
thousand yards and thirty five touchdowns. We decided to let
go and now another guy who's gonna throw for four
thousand yards and thirty five touchdowns with this new team,
and we decided we're sticking with you, like this makes
Minnesota if he's not good, looks so embarrassing, like they
(10:28):
have no idea how to evaluate offensive talent. They need
JJ McCarthy to come up big in a big way.
And I know you want to think, Ah, the old
Bears will show up. No, the Bears need a stamp win.
And the thing is, the Bears are just better than
the Vikings are. Their offense is better, their playmakers are better.
They can win games when Roma Dunes doesn't catch a pass.
(10:50):
They can win games when DJ Moore doesn't catch a pass.
They can win games when when they can run the football.
When they can't run the football, they win games. When
Colston Lovelin breaks out, they win games. Holton Lovelin is invisible.
It's different players every week. And Caleb Williams, we talked
about him being in the MVP conversation earlier this week.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
The Bears are better. They need the win. It's a
big revenge coming off a week one again. I'm in
on Chicago, I'm in on the Bears. They win this week.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Bears giving up twenty seven point four per game, Minnesota
at twenty three seven, but the opportunistic Bears defense twenty
turnovers forced. How many of the Jets have the same
the same number I think same numbers, same exact number. Yeah,
right right on par twenty twenty four. I don't get
(11:37):
to Peacock very hang.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
On hang ony twenty four minus twenty three.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah, same, all right, there you go. Yeah, but all
of that. Yeah, but how many interceptions of the Bears have?
Speaker 4 (11:46):
How many receptions? Like one? Right?
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yeah, like one?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
But yeah yeah yeah, oh sure, it's only one more
than the Jets.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Nicely done. But that's where I'm looking for them to
make some hay here is to get after McCarthy and
forced a couple of turnovers. Uh, and then ultimately you're
able to do enough offensively Caleb Williams uh starting to
work in those myriad weapons. When you got Loveland rising up,
(12:14):
DJ Moore's banged up a little bit, Swift's banged up
a little bit, but you got Moning guy, and you
talked about Roma Dunza opportunity knocks. Look, the Vikings corners
are strong, so you're not gonna work a ton to
the outside. It's all over the middle of the field
where Caleb can use that big arm to get it done.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, Bears, yeo, are you said now now now be honest?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Are you?
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Are you on my band.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Are you believing in your Bears like I believe in
your Bears from the beginning.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Yeah, but someone had to do the healthy Hey, let's
watch this thing marinate. I always believed it was gonna work.
It's Chicago, man.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
You gotta jump right to this has to work or
this is absolute travesty.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
No, well, I mean that's that's certainly true. But in
terms of evaluating it week to week, go back in
and look at some of the major pundits who jumped off.
We just took it as a snapshot of where they were.
It's a work in progress. And now you've got a
guy who's working play action at a rate higher than
all but one quarterback in the National Football League. That's
(13:15):
what Ben Johnson wanted to do. And what's he doing.
He's seeing the field well, pushing the ball downfield. A
great video up on our YouTube channel at Jason Smith
Show talking about it earlier earlier in the week. So
more growth against the Brian Flores defense. You know, that
second half was abysmal and JJ McCarthy looked like a
superhero for what he did against the Bears defense. Different
(13:38):
story here in week eleven.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Exit out about a Fresca exit swollen dome. Look at
the Bears.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
The Bears by Sunday night, Think about this for a
second week eleven of the NFL. The Bears by the
end of the night Sunday could be all alone in
first place in the NFC North.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Just think about that. For a Sei can all alone
in first.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Place AFC North odds as they currently stand the Lions
minus one thirty five, Packers at plus one seventy five,
Bears eight to one, Vikings thirty to one.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Exit out about a Fresca exit.
Speaker 1 (14:15):

The Jason Smith Show with My best Friend Mike Harmon.
Five minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Oregon getting set
for their big showdown against USC. They are thumping Minnesota
a big lack of boat rowing tonight forty two thirteen uh,
Oregon with the lead just again. They're just killing clock
right now. Minnesota will be hopping ned when they face
(15:49):
your Northwestern Wildcats next weekend. Mike, Wildcats hosting Michigan Big
noon kickoff at Wyfield. Yeah yeah, the experiment the small
field on the lake Front is done a couple of
games at Wrigley, So you got that going. By the way,
the spread on this one was twenty six and a half,
so that last touchdown really did matter.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Yep, yep, one hundred.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
But you never know, there's four and a half times
to go. Minnesota's got the football.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
You never know.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Forty two thirteen contended to forty two. Really frantically, they
can move things in the other direction. We'll see.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
Joining us now on the hot line.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Nobody better look ahead to all these big games tomorrow
than the owner, editor, proprietor Grand Pooba of College Footballnews
dot com. You're one stop shopping for everything college football,
all the picks, all the prognostications, all the analysis. He's
on Twitter at Pete Feutech as well. It is the
aforementioned Pete fu Tech Happy Friday. Man, what's happening?
Speaker 7 (16:50):
Well, what's happening is really Minnesota? You're putting in your
backups now with you know, I don't know, just you.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
Don't need another touchdown here.
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Maybe it would be kind of nice if they did. Wait,
you you cut, Northwestern isn't hosting Michigan. They're playing again
on a baseball field. That doesn't count.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
They get the revenue, don't they.
Speaker 7 (17:12):
I don't know how that I guess, but like I
don't know, you have a perfectly you have the most
beautiful stettying in college football.
Speaker 8 (17:18):
I get it.
Speaker 7 (17:19):
They have to, like, you know, want to go finish
the renovations and all that kind of stuff. But like
that spot on the lake is awesome, and it's it's
a baseball field, the Novelties office, and it's.
Speaker 8 (17:32):
It's it's I just I'm not a fan.
Speaker 7 (17:34):
Of the whole baseball thing, baseball field thing. It's a
gimmick play play on this on the campus. But that's
just me. But I digress. I'm shaking my fists out
of cloud Is and it says your Gophers are punting
here for some reason, I think I know.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Where PHU Tech is leaning in this game I played.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
Sure, No, my sensibility is actually offended because the one
the fumble through the end zone that was still counted
as a touchdown and just probably one of the worst
calls that you can imagine another touchdown. But Oregon was
going to win this game by like fifty anyway, so
it didn't really matter. But this game is just sort
of egregious, but gante more was awesome. You look or
(18:14):
if this Oregon shows up the rest.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
Of the way.
Speaker 7 (18:17):
It is not played like this all year. This is
the team we've been kind of waiting for.
Speaker 8 (18:21):
Now.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
Minnesota is bad on the road, but at least Oregon
showed that when the weather conditions they're right, they can
be really awesome.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
And that is that's future Jet. Dante more Pete. Just
to give me the future Jet.
Speaker 7 (18:33):
Well, there's like ten guys. You know what, watch college
football tomorrow. Every game, every single quarterback is the number
one pick in the draft. Like everyone says, like it's Arch,
it's Tys Simpson, even though he's not really like you know,
it's Julian saying whenever he comes out, it's Mendoza, it's
Leonora Sellers. It's like, there's like twelve guys who are
(18:56):
going to be the number one. Just like Lane Kiffin
is going.
Speaker 8 (18:58):
To go and coach eighteen at once, there's gonna.
Speaker 7 (19:01):
Be like twelve number one overall draft stick quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
All right, well let's start with one of the guys
you just mentioned. I'm looking at tomorrow. Look, the Heisman
Trophy race is all over the place. It's not gonna
be a stat year. It's gonna be a year where
we're looking for a Heisman moment from somebody and Pete,
I kind of like what I think I'm gonna see
Ty Simpson do tomorrow against Oklahoma, big game, National TV,
biggest game of the day.
Speaker 7 (19:24):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
I like Alabama.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
I like Simpson to have a big game and suddenly
and maybe a new name at the front of that race.
Speaker 7 (19:30):
It's gonna come down to the conference championships.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
Who's gonna have the big.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
Day when everyone's watching, when it really matters, because it's
always there's always that one big moment that okay, you know,
Kaysons might have a big day and then all of
a sudden, the Auburn defense has other ideas in a
couple of weeks, you know, so you kind of.
Speaker 8 (19:46):
We're gonna have to wait a little.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
Bit on this, but look, you know in that this
is gonna be the fun part about Alabama going forward
because this is what they do there again, and I
think mens before there it's a one trick team, but
it's a really good trick and they don't have a
running game. The defense for Alabama is good, it is
very good. But this is basically what Washington was a
(20:08):
couple of years ago. It's a lot of downfield passing,
it's a high octane offense, and.
Speaker 8 (20:15):
Simpson's been great for this attack.
Speaker 7 (20:17):
And we're about to see this tomorrow because Oklahoma has.
Speaker 8 (20:19):
A pass rush and it might bother him a little
more than normal.
Speaker 7 (20:23):
But this will be a fun game.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
How about the battle between the names Arch Manning and
Gunner Stockton. Manning coming off a big game against Vanderbilt
Georgia nearly a touchdown favorite fifty the over under and
looking up stuff for this game and kind of breaking
it down the fact that Georgia has done so little
in terms of forcing turnovers for what we normally expect
(20:48):
out of that defense.
Speaker 8 (20:48):
Feet there's no path rush.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
It's the weirdest thing. And their defense is still pretty good.
Speaker 8 (20:54):
By the way.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
I'm ready for Gunner Stockton to go to the NFL,
or because I don't trust myself that how to spell
his name with an ear an a like.
Speaker 8 (21:02):
It just it's everything.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
It's kind of like Jameis Winston. I should have learned
that by now. I still don't trust it every time
I write it, but yeah, I mean, look, Georgia is
the one team out there that has the talent and
the ability from the SEC to I think make a
deep run or win it all. I don't trust Alabama
because again that that passing game is it doesn't work
(21:24):
one day if there's a problem. I certainly don't really
trust Ole Miss because that that style of play they do,
that defense is going to get gassed at some point
in the college football playoff. But man, this this Georgia team.
When it works and they start to.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
Roll, that's that's it.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
They got that combination of talent and ability, and I
think they're just starting to come into their own and
just starting to figure it out. But let's figure it
out tomorrow, because look Texas, Texas still only has just
the one loss in the SEC. It's right there in
the mix for big things. And they have a defense,
they don't have a running game. And let's see if
we get a day out of arch Well.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
That's the thing.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Pete arch Manning has been really good the last couple
of weeks.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Maybe he just took them five or six games and
we're getting the good arch Manning.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Now.
Speaker 8 (22:09):
It's such.
Speaker 7 (22:10):
It's everyone wants their quarterback to be awesome right away,
and you're seeing.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
This in the NFL all the time.
Speaker 7 (22:16):
Why doesn't this rookie quarterback, you know, do this you know,
after three games or it's hard. Sometimes these guys just
need a lot of at bats and it's you know,
some guys get it right away, some guys don't. And
again Arch is so young, he's still getting started. The
talents all there. Like you said, he's been really strong
over the last couple of games, and now he's just
(22:36):
able to kind of see things a little bit better.
Maybe he's just slowing down a little bit, and it
seems like he's more relaxed. Like it just you can
just go out there and grip it and rip it
and go.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
And he's playing well.
Speaker 7 (22:46):
But we'll see what he does tomow against this Georgia.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
D Pete, you tech our guru college footballnews dot com
at Pete futech where you find him in the Twitter
verse for everything he's got cooking as he gets ready
for another big weekend of the college football season, Pete,
Big game out here, Battle the Top twenty five USC
Jason wants Lincoln Riley as the next head coach of
the Jets. After tomorrow's game, USC favored by a touchdown
(23:12):
as we speak right now, will he still want him
as his coach?
Speaker 8 (23:16):
Here's what I don't get.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
What you know, why would any college coach want to
go in the NFL. Like, first of all, all the
NFL coaches are the same guy. There's Big three, Andy Reid,
and everyone else looks like they're in a sport clips
that you know, commercial or something.
Speaker 8 (23:32):
They all have.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
They're all like twenty seven, they have a nice haircut,
they're all kind of good looking and athletic, and you know,
I don't know, we know their names, but they have
these schemes. It just I don't know why you would
want to do this when if you stay in college,
you're guaranteed like generational wealth with every win because they'll
keep adding more money to your UH to your deal.
So I think Lincoln Riley is doing fine. I will
(23:55):
be kind of stunned if you you see if USC
doesn't have a big performance. I always been great. Their
three losses were all really close. But USC is a
completely different animal. At home, they've had they've struggled down
the road and they've just kind of been off. They
need a little they've melted down in Illinois and you know,
(24:15):
they just haven't quite been themselves and they get to
make you on a plane and go. But at home
they have been fantastic. I just don't think, you know,
I always going to show off the firepower to keep
up on this pete.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
When you look at Notre Dame in Pittsburgh, right, big
game here Notre Dame. I remember you saying beginning of
the year, after Notre Dame lost their first two games,
you said, just wait, just wait, because I don't know
where there's other losses.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
And here they are right now.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
They can clinch a spot basically in the playoff with
a win tomorrow. I think they lose the period of
it's a huge game for well, I don't see them
losing the rest of the way because you know that's
Syracuse next week. So they basically can clinch with a
win tomorrow because they basically have buys the rest of
the way.
Speaker 8 (24:56):
That's not how it really works, though.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
First of all, I continue to be of the fact
that you say it like beIN know Cook no Tre Dame.
But here's kind of the thing to remember how this works.
It's not like the AP and coaches polls where if
you are number five in the country, now you keep winning,
you will never leave that five spot. If only you
will only go up in the college football playoffs. It
(25:19):
comes down to the end. And so here's what I'm
kind of trying to prepare people now, assuming speaking of Syracuse,
assuming that Miami doesn't pull a Syracuse of last year
and they had everything on the line and blew it
in the final game against the Orange. This year, that
team from Coral Gables or it's nice and warm and
happy has to go to Pittsburgh in late November. That's
(25:41):
the problem. If Miami wins its final two games, it's
going to be ten and two. South Florida is going
to rip through the American Athletic Conference and it's going
to win the American Athletic Conference championship. No Tre Dame
is going to be ten and two, and so Notre
Dame might be like seven ish or six in the
penultimate rankings, and then the final rankings. What they're gonna
(26:03):
have to do is, Okay, South Florida'll be twelve, and
they're gonna want.
Speaker 8 (26:07):
To put Miami in at ten to two.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Because of their great wins, because that went over Notre Dame.
Speaker 8 (26:11):
Because of that.
Speaker 7 (26:12):
Win over South Florida, and Notre Dame could be the eleven.
But you're right, I think they punched their ticket at
the very least. They're crushing everybody. It's kind of getting
lost that they are destroying everything in their path. But
let's see, because kid's got a little bit of firepower
to play with.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Here, yes a pet.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
One of my favorite things from this week's announcement of
where we're at with the rankings, where we got backed
into the old age of the pollsters. Why's Texas text
where they are?
Speaker 8 (26:39):
Well?
Speaker 3 (26:39):
They kicked field goals. Why's Miami where they are? Well,
we like their offense, like we're going back to running
up the score. Where spurry you're at? Yeah, but then
the guy that said that resigned. We got somebody he
said all that stuff and he quit.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Yeah. Yeah, there's a few things to deal with right
now with that good kid down in grape buying Texas.
But look, look they're buying time.
Speaker 8 (27:04):
And I've said this.
Speaker 7 (27:05):
Before and it's the other network, so I can talk
about them clearly. It's just the don't pay attention to
anything they're saying. Just don't I mean this whole they
do the bracket. This is how the bracket is right now. Well, yeah,
because you have well the conference championships yet and there
are certain pret you know, things that can't happen with
the way they have the brackets.
Speaker 8 (27:25):
Set up based on the current rankings. So just they're
trying to kill.
Speaker 7 (27:29):
Time and then they're just going to get to the end.
And again, if it's going to be as long as
Indiana and Ohio State are undefeated, if they're both twelve
and zero and they play each other, Big Ten Champion
is going to be the number one seed. At SC
Champion is going to be the number two seed, twelve
and one, Texas Tech is probably going to be the
three Big because they love, they remember the number one
thing that they value is a conference championship. The Texas
(27:51):
Tech gets three, and I say the Big Ten Champions
probably number four, and then game on from there with
the Georgia's ole miss and you Oregon winner from.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
There, all right, Pete.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Lastly, Bill Belichick has spent most of this week talking
about how he's not leaving for the NFL. First of all,
I don't think anybody's really calling him. Secondly, where do
you think he stands right now as far as the
future With North Carolina, they won a couple of games
over some bad teams, and he's onto wake Forest like
he usually was with the New England Patriots. Where do
(28:24):
you think that stuff? The situation with Belichick stands right now.
Speaker 7 (28:26):
Well, the problem is, again, does he want to really
see this through? Because if he was ten years younger,
you'd say, all right.
Speaker 8 (28:34):
But first of all, their.
Speaker 7 (28:36):
Defense is awesome. I mean, they are an undermachine for
those people who care about this sort of stuff. Their
offense is bad, their defense is fantastic, And you're right,
they're actually kind of playing pretty good, you know, for
what they're trying to do. They're in control. And this
is Belichick, you know, coaching defense and no one's watching
(28:59):
or no one cares because they were so bad early on.
So if he was younger, you could say, all right,
you can kind of see where this is going.
Speaker 8 (29:06):
This is going to be a.
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Defensive powerhouse in the ACC for the next several years.
They get a couple offensive playmakers and let's go. But
I just don't know if he's gonna want to hang
around and see this through for that long. So it's
I think he might set things up, okay. I don't
know if he's saying he's up for his kids take
over or you know, however this is going to work.
I think he stays there. I get the idea of
(29:30):
him wanting to coach in the NFL a little bit.
I actually think he'd be all right. I think he'd
actually be a really good coach.
Speaker 6 (29:36):
You know.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
You get him for two or three years in the
NFL and he'd be back again. He's got the young
quarterback with Jackson Dart If he did go to the
Jets and sorry Giants and all that, but no, I
think he's staying in North Carolina for the foreseeable future.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
He's on Twitter at pachu tech.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
That is, at pt tech college Footballnews dot com.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
You're one stop shopping for everything college football.
Speaker 3 (29:57):

Speaker 4 (30:02):
We'll talk to you.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
We're going see you, Buddyn.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
There goes Pete, Pete Futech, who did not get that
last minute touchdown from the Golden Gophers. So uh, the
Oregon Ducks cover not just win, but cover the big points.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Spread sad Friday night.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yeah, it happens, though, I mean we no, I mean, look,
we gotta say it.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Sometimes you try to row the boat and you just
you only got one or so are you going to certain.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Time now to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports, from special delivery Steve to saga esdi.
What do you got for us, my friend?
Speaker 9 (30:34):
Well, let's start with the game at number eight Oregon
on Fox TV. The Ducks beat up Minnesota forty two
to thirteen Oregon nine and won this season, and quarterback
Dante Moore was twenty seven of thirty passing for three
hundred and six yards and two scores.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Clemson which future jet Dante Moore Steve's future jet.
Speaker 9 (30:52):
Actually, I can see that Clemson four and five going
into tonight, gotta win. At number twenty Louisville twenty to nineteen,
Cardinals an extra point kick and missed two field goal
attempts late in the game from fifty and forty six yards.
By the way, with the new college football playoff rankings, yes,
the top five stayed the same this week, Texas up
to number ten, but number eleven Oklahoma as of now
(31:15):
would not make the playoff.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
The ACC's highest.
Speaker 9 (31:17):
Ranked team would, which this week is number fifteen Miami
and South Florida ranked twenty fourth, would as the best
of the group of five teams.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
I know what pe said, is right.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
A lot can change, but as of now, number nine
Notre Dame would open the playoffs at number eight Oregon.
Next month, the top four we'll get first round bys.

Away the weather is projected to be clear with a
low of. Forty weather is a big. Deal they're playing
at night In. Philadelphia it's The, Lions so this offense.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Going to be able to do.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
It the weather will be clear and a low of.
Forty that means The lions are going to. Win The
philadelphia is in the middle of all this. Dysfunction the
offense is not. Scoring they are getting. By AND i,
LOOK i give them all the credit in the world
for being able to win while they can't seem to
like each other and get along and and And Jalen
(35:23):
hurts AND Aj brown are going rogue allegedly on big.
PLAYS i, mean IT'S i can't believe they're. Winning but
by and, large since The lions And Dan campbell have
taken the play calling duties and arrange From John, morton
the offense has had a big bump and a big
adjustment AND i expect that to. Continue and, look The
(35:44):
eagles are still a really good. Team their offense is
not going to be able to keep up with The.
LIONS i know it's on the, road but The lions
need a big. Win they've been prone to the stinker
this year more than they should. Be that doesn't. Happen
it's a big win for them in a hostile. Environment
And monday we're talking about how The lions are back
to being a big time contender in THE. Nfc their
(36:05):
offense is this. Good maybe they just went through some doldrums,
here BUT i expect them to continue to play big
and it's gonna be impossible.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
For philadelphia to keep. Up give me The lions in the.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
Win look at, You, philadelphia narrow favorite one and a half.

Gen no And Jerry jones hanging out in an owner's
box In Las. Vegas what could happen? Anyway going back
(36:40):
to the, game.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
ITSELF i got tickets for the certain De solo and
went to go see, that and people just kept diving
in the, water didn't come back up the same.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
PEOPLE i don't.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Know it's a big.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Mystery, now that would be a play like PLAY i.
WOULD i would sit Through.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Jerry jones talks to me about The Circa Salay, show.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Trying to explain what the hell happened to a circa sleat,
show and most of, you outside of The beatles, ONE i,
mean every one of them has storylines where, LIKE i
have no idea what's going, on But i'm fascinated by the. Illusions,
Anyway i'm gonna take The eagles at home Here Jalen
hurts and that. OFFENSE i don't know What i'm getting
from Aj. BROWN i said as much on THE I
(37:23):
watch A flex podcast we recorded. Earlier, again maybe maybe.
Not if nothing, ELSE i, Know DeVante, Smith Dallas, Goddard
we'll still get. Theirs Sa Kwan barkley is still waiting
for that big explosive game we had one against The.
Giants haven't really seen that, otherwise and he hasn't been
as big a factor in the passing game as you
would expect but here's an opportunity here for The eagles
(37:45):
to quiet folks down at home and know it's not
going to be. Cold AND i know that's the metric
you're trying to go to the indoor narrative About Jared.
Goff as we go through the, slate you got what
is described ON nfl weather is definite snow showers for
The Bills, bucks chance of, rain showers In, tennessee with
(38:05):
The texans in, town rain In, well it doesn't, matter
and slight chance of rain In, cleveland and showers potentially
For Casey. Denver scattered showers In Las vegas as. Well
but that's just the full weather report for The, yeah,
(38:26):
okay go Hit dallas.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Rains thanks for telling us about the weather across the
country On, sunday.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Well because we need that because we're at that point
in the year where chaos. Ensues but well we're looking
at The lions for For Jared, goff it's been scattershot
over the course of the. Year, uh the big. Day you,
know Here's campbell celebrating on the sideline before a play is, called,
right you saw that fist bump Of they knew they
were gonna get something. Big on a, play which is.
(38:50):
Great that Was. Washington this is a decided step up in.
Class philadelphia can still get after it, Defensively they'll shut
down the, run try To Jamier gibbs and. Company And
Jared goff is no, superman he looks. Human And philly
gets the winning.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
Home big game with playoff. Implications early Game chargers and The.
Jaguars normally this is a game WHERE i would, Say,
ah The chargers flying, east it's difficult for.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Them not this.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Week the defense travels. Well The, Jaguars Trevor lawrence has no. Playmakers,
Look Jacoby myers is still trying to find his winder the.
Offense The chargers win this. Game they pulled away from The,
jaguars and at eight and three we're talking about The
chargers at the top of THE. Afc, look La is
is just way more talented in a better place than
they are right. NOW i can't see The jaguars doing
(39:43):
anything offensively to really dent this game and keep up
on the.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Scoreboard with The chargers.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Forty three and a half to. Total As frostburg left,
yesterday he, said the return to the scene of the, Crime,
yeah there's still probably a couple of players remember that,
Game they're still going to go out on a. Limb
and then they Brought Keenan allen. Back he can tell
tales over a campfire or something like. That but you're
looking at What herbert and McConkie have been doing these
(40:09):
last five six weeks where he's really become the integral
part of the offense by dal running the ball. Effectively
and do you really Trust Trevor lawrence in a big
spot right? Now? NO i do, Not So i'll take
The chargers and the defense to roll up.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
