Speaker 3 (00:29):
Welcome head. Final hour of the program tonight, Jason Smith
Show with Me Mike Carmon. Jason'll be back tomorrow, So
another hour with doctor Rich Hornberger as we traverse the
sporting universe, bringing you the highs, lows, and craziness of
the world. A little bit later on a great promotion
(00:50):
that we've been very intrigued by here, you know, the
trade me anything kind of circumstance for a video game
distributor and trading guard distributor. We'll see what we've be
trade in this particular offering. We've got the end of
the Lakers game. We watched the Lakers that beating up
(01:12):
on the Jazz late in this one minute twenty to
go up fifteen. Lebron James returned to the court, but
we're talking a lot about the National Football League, a
lot of college football as well, Rich But in the
NFL there's a team that we didn't discuss on the
NFC side that I think is moderately intriguing. And they
(01:33):
had a huge win on Monday Night Football. Now, their
opponent has plenty of storylines wrapped in itself, the Las
Vegas Raiders. But for the Dallas Cowboys, a thirty three
sixteen win. Yes we actually got a safety in that
game as well, seventeen point win and George Pickens and
Cede Lamb where bench coaches decision to start the game
(01:57):
that was short lived and they went on to dominate.
But as we look at the playoff picture in the NFC,
all of a sudden we look at the Dallas Cowboys
at four five and one in the ten spot, behind
Carolina and the Detroit Lions both at six wins, So
the pesky tie coming into play. But for Jerry Jones,
(02:20):
he sounds like a kid who's already at Christmas with
what he's got cooking with his wide receivers.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah, he's pumped up.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Look, you know, I never count out a team with
a quarterback who can dabble on the side of elite.
And I know that sounds ridiculous because we're talking about
Dak Prescott and everybody's got a variety of opinions about
Dak Prescott. But when he turns it on, that guy
can threat a needle from forty yards away. He is
(02:54):
an absurd talent. Now is he consistent? Not consistent enough?
Does he protect the full ball well enough in clutch
spots sometimes? And you need to be better than a
sometimes clutch quarterback to be a consistent playoff contender. And
that's part of the struggles, not all, but part of
the struggles.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
That Dallas has had.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
But Jerry Jones has I think, over the course of
his career overall, drafted pretty well as a general manager,
especially recently, say the past decade or so. He's done
a pretty good job in free agency. Overall, They've done
a nice job secure talent, especially homegrown talent. The departure
(03:38):
of Micah Parsons is a little head scrouching, because that's
usually the type of player he doesn't let slip through
his fingers. But he's with Green Bay now, and we
know how that whole saga shook out prior to the season.
Do I look at the Dallas Cowboys as being a
potentially dangerous team. Yeah, but they got to start playing
defense against real teams. The Raiders can't fight their way
(04:01):
out of their own way right now, let alone beat
a Dallas Cowboys team with a pretty high powered offense.
So I don't I don't see the Raiders heading in
any direction but continuing to spiral down from here on out.
In terms of Dallas, if they want to move upward,
they they need to get stops. They need to need
(04:22):
to get people off schedule, in in the run game
or just in early downs in general, something that they
can't do. And a big part of that is they
didn't have an answer for the for the the absence
of Micah Parsons. It's not working without him.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Well, and that's the question the reinforcements that brought in. Obviously,
the first test was against these these Raiders. So yes,
not much. You say, you passed it and you move on.
But you can only play who's on the schedule. And
now we look to the back end of the season
to see if the arrival of Winn Williams and company
(05:03):
is enough to get them over the top, right and
certainly offensively they're going to be in all these games.
I thought Jones's critique of George Pickens was really one
of my favorites. I've never seen a performance like that.
It was poetic. The way he was making those moves
out there. It's like he was in an opera or
something out there, a ballet. He's in his final year.
(05:25):
I just find it curious, right, I'm always a one
maybe to go against the grain when we have these moves,
particularly of a player. You know, Michaeh Parson's a big deal,
but you lost with him, you can lose without him,
and certainly it's a big hole to fill, you know,
from a pass rush perspective, and I don't think his
(05:48):
analysis in terms of the run game and sometimes where
Micah might not be as big a factor, was necessarily
too off point. Now, should you have gotten someone to
help stuff the run before the season, Yeah, that probably
would have helped instead of making that part of the deal.
But as we move forward, you know, you can only
(06:09):
play the cards and the hand that you've been dealt
or decided to deal yourself and go Historically for Jerry
Jones and been the staunch defender here, rich you and
I have talked about it in the past, like on
the grand scale. While they haven't won Super Bowls, I'll
take the double digit win seasons that they've had with
some regularity as opposed to the Raiders, my Bears, and
(06:32):
many other squads who are just wandering in the desert
trying to find said double digit win season. But is
it enough to get over now? The NFC, I think
is too crowded to do a lot of damage. But
that offense when it's cooking, Javonte Williams a fine pickup.
Dak Prescott completing seventy percent of his throws with Pickens
(06:54):
and CD Lamb about as good as it gets. And
for George Pickens also the curiosity because you want to
re sign him. He's at the end of his deal,
so that's another big decision Jerry's gonna have to make
here in short order.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, George Pickens right now, traded for a third and
a fifth round draft pick, is on pace to have
ninety nine receptions for over fifteen hundred yards. Like he's
he's having a season where just even like if you
think about trades in general, like what you give up
(07:29):
versus what you get, even if he falls somewhat short.
You know, say he only catches I don't know, eighty
eight catches and he only has thirteen hundred yards receiving, Like, like,
do you realize like you would trade a third, a fifth,
and then another third for that level of production for
just one season, because the possibility of a third, two
(07:54):
thirds and a fifth ever materializing into the impact that
one season at receiver a year like that could have
on your team, or your franchise or the legacy of
your franchise.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
I mean, you'll give that up all day long.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
So they to say they got pickens for a song
based on the way he's played so far is an understatement.
And like you said, the other bevy of talents around
Dak Prescott. Now, yeah, we're gonna have to see if
some of the help they added on defense materializes. We're
gonna see if they can end up getting some key
stops in some key situations, especially in the really important
(08:32):
down the stretch of the season division battles that they
have left on the docket. But Jerry Jones, whether they
are a winning team, a losing team, or indifferently stuck
in the middle near five hundred one, thing, he does
better than any other owner is he understands what the
(08:52):
fan base wants to hear and what the national media
will run with. And when you have a receiver in
a in a contract year, who's having a year like Pickins.
So I'm sure they want to retain. And they've got
some room now because they didn't end up breaking off
Michah Parsons.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
All of a.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Sudden, you're gonna hear Jerry Jones waxing even more poetic
about George Pickens because he's gonna try to get him
for the Dallas discount and I'm not sure he's gonna
be able to.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
No, And that becomes the fun part of the equation, right.
The Bogoletta being the agent of Micah Parsons certainly created
another level of contentiousness and a battle behind the scenes.
Right didn't want to deal with him, thought he had
a dea deal with Micah Parsons, and Bugoletta was the
guy that negotiated to Sean Watson's deal. So there's still
(09:42):
a little, I think between he his agency and owners,
a little bit of a distancing when they've got to
come back to the tables. Watching how Cleveland did themselves
in in many ways, over that deal. But for for
Jerry and company, they're always in the news. We were
(10:03):
talking about the Lakers, right. If the Lebron's playing well, great,
if he's not great. Hate watching is a very real
thing in our sporting lexicon, no question about it. It's
why we still have primetime games with teams you're like
they're not very good, doesn't matter. People are going to
tune in, people are going to travel. Hell, look at
where the Cowboys were coming into this game three five
(10:23):
and one, and they went and took over Las Vegas.
Fans still travel fans were still ready to show up. Now,
some of those are the legacy people from of my age,
rich little older than you. Of the folks that are
forty nine er or Cowboy fans or Steeler fans. Baseball wise,
they love the Yankees and then they're Bulls fans or
(10:46):
Celtics fans or Laker fans. So that that's kind of
how those work. And if they like college basketball, it's Duke.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it really is true. And look,
everyone hates Duke, hates the Boys. It's just kind of
what it is. When you have a loud and proud
fan base that is you know, nationally relevant, and that's
what the Cowboys have. And look, I think that, Look,
(11:17):
the Cowboys having a talented quarterback is not a bad
thing for the NFL. The Cowboys having a competitive roster,
albeit missing some key pieces in spots, specifically on defense,
it's not the worst thing in the world either, because
I think that puts them in flux in a way
that makes their storyline a little bit more interesting. Now,
(11:39):
do I think the league overall is better when the
Cowboys are better? Yeah, because the same way we were
talking about polarizing characters like Lebron James, whether you hate
them or love them, the leagues that they play for,
or the leagues that contain these polarizing teams, even they
love those teams because they're agnostic about where the money
(12:02):
comes from, as long as the money's coming in. And
so the reason why Dallas plays on Thanksgiving Day is
because they rate. Because people want to see the Dallas
Cowboys win or lose, but they want to see the
Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
So, as we sit here, George Pickens's five catches off
his career high established in twenty twenty three at sixty
three for eleven forty. Right now, he's at fifty eight
for nine oh eight, and the other thing for Jerry Jones.
As you mentioned Dak Prescott. Remember how criticized they were
for paying him, right, they waited and then they paid him.
(12:38):
It's like, why did they get him all that money?
I think you can see why when you've got ample
talent out there. They paid Jake Ferguson in the off season.
So you arm him with enough talent around him and
a good enough offensive line and you get some big
results offensively. Now what's curious is the stretch run, as
(12:59):
you allude to too when you talk about in division
and what you've got left. You got a home date
against Philadelphia. Okay, there we go. We do a little
bit of that. You've got kensas City right short week,
the Thanksgiving Day game, then at Detroit, then home against
Minnesota that'll be another. All of these are like primetime
(13:22):
or standalone games. And then you've got the Chargers at
home at Washington at the Giants to finish the season.
So you're looking at one, two, three, probably what four
or five of those that you say they should be
in or win, right, probably favored in four of them.
We don't know what the Chargers will be at that point.
(13:44):
Both Washington and the Giants, those are road games, but
neither of those teams that you're looking to. As much
as I love watching Jamis Winston wing the ball around.
Jackson Dart. We hope his back and ready to play
at that point, but who knows where he is physically
in the weeks to come. Washington, you got Mariota or
(14:05):
you're not gonna have Daniels back, So you know you're
looking at those have closed the year. The Chargers, we
mentioned the Vikings and JJ McCarthy. I mean, that's about
as even a four quarters as you're going to watch
in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs are a five
hundred squad, but dangerous on a week to week basis.
(14:26):
And then Philadelphia and Detroit are getting in their own
way at this point. Philadelphia is still winning despite doing so,
and Detroit muddling along.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Well, here's the problem.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
The way I see it is, you're coming off of
one of your biggest victories against one of your weakest
opponents this season after two straight losses, heading into a
bus against Philadelphia division rival. Tough place to play for Philly,
no question about it, But then a quick turnaround against
(14:59):
Kansas City Chiefs. So it almost feels like.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
You absolutely need.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
To win the game against Philadelphia this weekend at home
before you host the Chiefs on Thursday Night, because most likely,
if you lose to the Eagles, you're going to be
home dogs to the Chiefs. And while that normally bodes
well for the home dog on primetime, I don't know
if it does in this case for the Dallas Cowboys.
(15:27):
We'll see what happens with the Chiefs against the Colts.
Obviously they get to host them before going on the
road for Thanksgiving Day. But Andy Reid, look a long
tenured coach, understands how these Thursday night games need to
be coached and also understands how these holiday games need
to be coached. He's been through it all, he's seen
it all, he's done it all. So the Dallas Cowboys,
(15:51):
if they're going to get their wins lost record in
shape for a playoff run, they got to win one
of these next two games, in my opinion, like they
got they and it probably has to be the Eagles
because Detroit, like you said, they're not They're not the
Detroit team that they were a season ago. But you
(16:13):
got you gotta face that team on the road, and
then you gotta win win out against Minnesota, La, Washington
and the Giants to really have something that resembles a
decent record.
Speaker 4 (16:26):
I mean, this is a I think it's.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
A sneaky, tough finish to the schedule for Dallas, I
really do. And I could see them catching fire potentially
if they do go on a three game heater here Raiders, Eagles,
Chiefs and completely rewrite the narrative. And they could do
that in basically fourteen days, because it's going to take
(16:49):
as many games to or days to finish those that
three game stretch through Thanksgiving evening. But goodness gracious, I
mean that's no easy feat, and certainly for a team
that struggled mightily through the halfway point of the season.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
One of the more interesting squads, and certainly Jerry Jones
giving us sound bites all the way through, and we'll
get a big performance. I think it's post malone for
the Cowboys game on Thanksgiving Day, so you get a

like the Cool TV Show, no secession potentially and chaos
in the Big ten. Rich, I think this one is
one right in our wheelhouse as we talk about the
two point four billion dollars deal and the plans to
uh maybe leave. We'll talk about that next here.

but definitely join us. Listen to over Promised with Cavino
and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Welcome back in Fox Sports Radio. Jason spits you out
with me by Carbon Rich Hornberger in for Jason and I.
Thanks to Alex and justin making this sound so pretty
our guys, Steve Desager at the news desk. We'll hear
from Steve in a couple moments at Ormburger where you
find Rich. Hear im again Saturday morning. Here countdown to Kickoff,
(19:48):
presented by bat MGMs. We get ready for the college
Football Day, A big slate ahead. As we're getting down
to the home stretch. Latest college football playoff rankings go
up earlier to day. We get the fun of two
lane number twenty four in that twelve spot. The two
Utah teams xis based on the way things are currently
(20:10):
constructed for those last bids in the top twelve. So
certainly more chaos to come here in these next couple
of weeks. But a story and our beloved Big ten
Rich that's kind of hanging out there. Also this two
point four billion dollar private equity deal that Tony Pertiti's
trying to petit. He's trying to get together, and USC
(20:33):
and Michigan raising their hand, going, ah, maybe not so
fast here. The Big ten does not need to be
sold to save college sports, said the regent Jordan Acker
for Michigan. It needs to lead. You can't trigger cry
poverty while spending tens of millions on buyouts. We can't
have college sports the collegiate experiences dictated by private equity.
(20:57):
So it comes to a two point four billion dollars
investment into the conference by a place called Uce Investments,
So the University California's portfolio manager gets shares. It would
lock the eighteen teams of the Big Ten into the
conference until twenty forty six, and then you look at
(21:19):
the ten percent of the media and sponsorship rights for
fifteen years go here, and then they can sell their stake.
But the institutions would get percentages and payouts based on
their size and scope, and they can fight amongst the pool.
But being locked into twenty forty six is where Michigan,
(21:40):
USC and others are raising their hang on, wait a minute,
in this ever evolving landscape, why would we deal do
that deal? Like for Northwestern, Rutgers, et cetera, they'll take
their piece of the pie, But for the larger schools
where they have the notable media nationwide and global brands,
(22:01):
they're crying fall as this goes forward. I love the
dollars and cents of it all and raising their hand going, hey,
we maybe new the conference USC, but we didn't come
here for this to be sold out from under us.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Right right, exactly right.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Well, and here's what's interesting about private equity, Like we
know they don't care. They don't care about football. They
care about money. Like that is the one thing that
is Look, at the end of the day, football is
a business. And if you are in the business of football,
(22:42):
if in a way you do care about money, of
course you do, because everything comes back to the almighty dollar. However,
we know this just from Wall Street, you know, off
the gridiron, when people put on their suits and they
take off their their hard hats with the double beer chug,
they slick back their hair and they go trade or
(23:05):
they invest, and that is a whole different game. And
that game is about pouncing on products or businesses where
they're turn key, and with the correct amount of money
and a long enough term on a deal, you.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Can turn a profit.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
So yeah, billions of dollars up front sounds like a
lot of money to most people in the world, and
trust me, it is still a lot of money, regardless
of how many more billionaires are now versus years ago.
But the reality is, if you're able to lock up
a conference or any major money maker for twenty years,
(23:46):
and you're able to or twenty five years, and you're
able to continue to collect a ten percent margin every
year for the next twenty years, they're going to quadruple
their money. They're going to turn that two point whatever
billion dollar investment into potentially an eight billion.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Dollar payout or greater.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
I mean, because college football isn't declining in interest, it's
only climbing. I mean recent news they're talking about potentially
one day expanding the college football playoff to twenty four teams.
Do we think that's going to make it less interesting, No,
it's going to be ever more interesting. People, more people
are going to have invested interest in college football. Gambling
(24:32):
has skyrocketed the interest in sports overall. Gambling is basically
legal in all fifty states based on some of the
workarounds with some of these you know, prediction apps is
what they're called now. I mean, we have completely renovated
the sports landscape where it is one of the hottest
investments and the big ten. You're absolutely right for the
(24:55):
schools who can kind of talk about money in the billions,
you know, with a big B billions in terms of
their athletic departments. Yeah, they're they're bucking this idea. But
some of these other schools, if they band together and
vote on this, I mean, I think some of these
new entrance into the Big Ten are going to be
(25:18):
They're going to be overruled by the majority of the
voting class.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah, most of the schools I'm sure will will sign
on immediately. The last TV deal, the Big Ten locked
in through twenty thirty. It's well in excess of a
billion dollars a year. For perspective, a quick research project
here the operating revenues and expenses for the year two
(25:45):
hundred and sixty six million dollars. That's the University of
Michigan Athletics projects balance budget for the fiscal year twenty
twenty six. Yeah, so, I mean, you, you know, multiply
that out, grab Penn State in there, grab in Ohio State,
grab some of your heavyweights, and we get to a
pretty sizable number for a single season, for a single
(26:09):
year pretty fast. But you know, if you are one
of the I don't want to say also rands, but
smaller schools, right with a different operating expense, and I
looked squarely at my Northwestern Wildcats, smaller university, smaller student body,
all of that's much smaller base, even though you're in Chicago.
(26:32):
That if you can be locked INTOLL twenty forty six
with a massive deal, you're saying, yeah, I mean like,
there's no question about it. So to see you know,
Michigan and USC kind of a bristle at this and
try to pick apart the different components of the deal
makes perfect sense. But it just shows where we're at
(26:54):
in this day and age. We were talking about Lane Kiffen,
James Franklin and others with the money that moves, offset,
language and everything else. To the tens of millions of dollars.
This just adds another couple of zeros.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Yeah, yeah, it does.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
You know, Look, I think I think these these headlines
obviously distract from what all this is supposed to be about,
you know, obviously, you know, college football is supposed to
be about the football, and it feels like lately we're
talking about anything but the football. We're talking about, you know,
the the betting, not even necessarily like spreads and totals
(27:39):
were we're talking about, you know, the the allegations and
the rules and the gray areas, you know, scandals even
like like those are the things that are being discussed
writ large, you know, the investments of this private equity firm,
that conference, or the realignment of those kind like college
(28:01):
football used to feel very pure. And I do think
that even though I am all in favor of players
getting paid at a rate that's com measure it with
their sacrifice and the amount of money that is being
made off of the backs of what used to be
partially free labor. For walk On's absolutely free labor. In fact,
(28:25):
there were walk On players who were key contributors on
certain teams over the years who were paying tuition still,
so figure that out. But I digress to prove the
point that not every decision for the better leads to consequences.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
That are easy to digest.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
And I think one of the consequences of paying the
players is everybody's got, you know, to dig deeper in
their pockets to wring more money out of this sport.
And I think they're becoming more and more creative. I mean,
don't We're not getting too far away from foreign powers
becoming interested in investing in one of these conferences or
(29:10):
potentially investing in you know, the nil fund of your
favorite football program coming to a small United States city
near you. I mean, think about what Saudi Arabia has
already done, you know, with the golf and you know
the contentious relationship they have with the PGA and what
(29:32):
they started with Greg Norman and Live golf. Think about
the investment they've made into soccer, the investment they've made
into professional flag football. I mean, Saudi Arabia is essentially
taking sports and using it as a pr marketing tool
to maybe wash away some of the sins of yesteryear.
(29:54):
This is only going to continue and it potentially could
inf trade the ranks of college football soon we'll see.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
The other part is just the globalization beyond that right
where we're talking today, announcement of more games overseas. It's
not just the NFL. We're watching it more and more.
With college It used to be one or two games.
Here's a game in Ireland, I don't know. Now we're
looking at a myriad other countries now getting in the mix.
(30:23):
That we'll see more kickoff classics presented by insert sponsor
here at an exorbitant rate and being sold overseas, right,
because you can sell all those packages, TV rights and
globalized things. Although they keep running out of beard. You
notice that whenever we send some of these games to
a new place, that happened in Madrid, like it happened
(30:46):
in Dublin last year, where all of a sudden or
you had the credit cards go down, so you just
had to give away product. Otherwise you were going to
have people really mad because it couldn't buy a beer.
Because that happened in Madrid this week where and went
down for a bit. So it's like, all right, here
you go. You got a bunch of people online, here's
your beer. Just get out of the way. Just go
(31:06):
back to your z please. I don't cause problems.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
I don't hate that decision, to be honest with you.
I mean, if there's ever a way to play, you
played it correctly. If you make that, you know it's
not necessarily your mistake. But if you are running that game,
if your NFL offices overseas, you get on the phone
real quick with it with Roge in New York or
(31:31):
the next closest chair to his desk, and you say, hey, listen,
the square app went down in Spain. Can we just
give five thousand beers away to clear the concession lines.
All right, we're greenlit for that. Okay, good, because that
is the correct decision. It should be about the fan
experience still overseas, even though they are ringing I mean
(31:55):
American viewers and stadium goers dry every.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Chance they get.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
I mean, think about how much money, Mikey, it costs
to bring a family of four to ANFL football game.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
It's unfeasible. You can't do it.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
You have to be making bookoo buuckoo dollars to make
that make sense on anything nearing a consistent basis.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Well, and that's the thing, the consistent basis, uh, the
one off like going to the theater versus the burger
stand down the street, speaking of the de Burger at
Orburger where you find him on Twitter? Find me over
at Swell Home. Let's come over to the news desk
for a final time tonight. It's our guy Steve to say, hey, Stave, Hey.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
There cheapest seats for the Lion's home game and Bears
home game this weekend two to three hundred bucks.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Heay, not feasible.
Speaker 8 (32:42):
As for the NBA tonight, everything is final because we
did have a late game and at Portland, a Sun's
win one twenty seven to one ten. In La, the
Lakers shot sixty percent from the floor and v Utah
one forty one twenty five. Lakers record now eleven and four.
Luke Doncic with thirty seven points, Lebron James of La
(33:03):
at his season debut after the bad back at eleven points,
twelve assists, one turnover wins for Orlando and Boston. For
the Spurs and Detroit, the Pistons have won eleven straight
after winning it Atlanta one twenty to one twelve. Milwaukee's
Giannisan Tenakupo could miss up to two weeks with a
string groin. In college hoops, at the doubleheader at Madison
Square Garden, top twenty matchup went to Michigan State over
(33:25):
Kentucky eighty three sixty six, Number five, Duke beat Kansas
seventy eight sixty six, Number twenty one. Arkansas escaped with
a win over Winthrop eighty four eighty three, and in
the late game double overtime Troy wins at San Diego
State oneh eight to one oh seven. In the new
college football playoff rankings, the top three stayed the same
(33:47):
led by number one Ohio State. Number four is Georgia
Oklahoma up to number eight, then number nine Notre Dame,
and number ten Alabama would barely get in the playoff.
As of now, Number thirteen Miami would as ACC champion,
but number eleven BYU Number twelve Utah at the moment
would not make it in Tulane would at number twenty
(34:08):
four in the country. They'd be the best of the
group of five teams. College football selection Sunday is December
the seventh. Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase is out this
weekend as one game suspension was upheld. Texans quarterback c J. Stroud,
with his concussion, will miss a third straight game this
Thursday against the Bills. Quarterback Davis Mills will start again
for Houston. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not need surgery
(34:31):
on his broken left wrist.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
He will not practice Wednesday.
Speaker 8 (34:34):
Reportedly, he's pushing to play Sunday at Chicago. Pittsburgh is
optimistic that running back Jalen Warren will play despite an
ankle injury. NHL wins for Tampa Bay and the Islanders.
Pitcher show to Imnaga accepted a qualifying offer to stay
with the Cubs. The Angels tonight traded outfielder Taylor Ward
to Baltimore for pitcher Grayson Rodriguez. Spain and Belgium earned
(34:56):
spots in next Summer's World Cup. US men's soccer finished
the year with its final exhibition in Tampa, five to
one victory over Uruguay. The Americans led four nothing late
first half. Back to you, thanks so much, Steve. I
have a good night and appreciate Steve Disager at the
news desk. Because Jason Smith show would be Mike Carmen
Rich Hornberger in first Jason this evening.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Jason will be back tomorrow. Coming up next, Interesting trades considered.
You may remember that line from Seinfeld and an Anthony
Quinn t shirt. Well, a certain gaming company is doing
the same and the list of exclusions will make you laugh.
We'll talk about that as we continue. Rich and Bike
