Speaker 1 (00:36):
Dot Com Studios tirec dot com. I'll hope you get there.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
An unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti rat dot com
is the way tire buying should be. Well, before we
get to the team that needs to break be broken up,
the superstar team, I guess I'm gonna tell you, is
it the Knicks? No? Well, come on, we're going to
the finals.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Oh, brand new on the menu. I had it today,
the Chicken Big Mac. I had the Chicken Big.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Mac, extra cheese, extra sauce. Yes, did the same thing
I do with the Big Mac.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
There you go, big O what I want, And I
gotta be honest, I really like it. I'm gonna get
it as long as they have it. Because number one,
I love chicken. But number two, because it's a it's
like a it's a boil. It's a boiled chicken, but
it's got the crispy. It's got the krispyat tempor it's
got the crispy on the outside. It's a bigger patty.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So the Big Mac is much bigger than the than
the beef you get for the for the big Mac. Now,
obviously you're saying you're counting calories and I get the
smaller patty. It's not as many, okay, But like this,
these this.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Double chicken patty is pretty bleeping good and and it
tastes good with the Big Mac sauce.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Eta. I was a really really big fan of the
chicken Big Mac. I'm telling you, boiled chicken.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Can it's like boiled, but then it's got the the
the crispy around.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
You lost me, boy, I kind of was thinking the
same thing. And the only boiled chicken that is acceptable
anytime is in soup.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Well, however, they well, how would you make it then
because it's not it's not fried, but it's like a
boiled it's like a boiled chicken with the with the
com on the outside.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I don't know, I don't know. I don't know. I
don't know how you would you would say that, Ty
Shirt would know. But it's like I said it, but
it's not crispy, it's not it's not a fried it's
not fr it's just got that that the coating on
the outside. It's actually chicken.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
They can't say it's chicken if it's not. You can't, No,
you can't. What do you mean you can't do that?
Can't do a chicken sandwich is not chicken.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Oh no, you could get into percentages and stuff to
where it still qualifies it. Okay, I'm sure, I'm sure
it is a still a large percentage. The FDA is
dubious and large percentage, like more than half chicken. Do
you know that, like most cheese only needs to be
fifty one percent cheese? What else is it if it's
not cheese? I to know, look at the ice, but

(03:01):
it's not like like American cheese is only fifty and
then what do you do? What else is sticking? Other
stuff I don't know. Okay, come on, plastic is non
biodegrade about you don't like how much the FDC, like
the FCC does not care. The fd i C doesn't
really care about you, just care about your money. Okay,

(03:21):
does not care. See, this is why you and I
don't eat that. Our food it would be forget forget
about all these other forget about Joe Rogan's podcast.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Our don't Eat that. Our food podcast would be incredible.
It might serves the food for us. Chicken Big Mac
would be That would be this week's episode. Every title
is just a touch type type.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I love it. Yeah, Chicken big Mac? How can you
talk about this tight shit? You're not gonna eat it? Nope,
but that's the name of the podcast. Don't eat that?
All right? When you point at it and you look,
I mean, I think we really couldn't make this a
staple of the show. We do a quick video every
week of oh I like that idea. Let's turn it
into that what what we do? Once a week? We
do it that don't eat that and it's a food pie.

(04:01):
We put it out as a food podcast. I'm down.
Why are we saying would you should you eat this?
Would you eat this?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
No, no, no, no, no, don't eat that as a great time.
You guys got to be short. Not not the Facebook
just Facebook.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
It's but the larger point I'm saying is that maybe
it is something that he won't eat. No no, no,
he are using it, but.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
No, but it's going to be something that one of
us won't eat. Okay, so that's what we call it.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Don't eat that. Somebody else would eat it. Someone's gonna scream,
someone's gonna scream, don't eat that. And then we get
into the discussion.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
And colliflower, colliflower, don't eat that, and both got to say,
don't eat that.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
I gotta listen. Fuffalo colieflower, it's empty, you're eating nothing.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
May as well be eating ice cubes if you're eating colliflower,
tight shirt?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Am I wrong? But if it tastes good? Hang, it's
a difference. Am I wrong? Ask the question again?

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Okay, eat it you may well. You may as well
be eating ice cubes if you're eating collieflo. Yeah, there
we go, think boo, don't eat that. But what if
you like collieflow, doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You're not getting anything. There's just pointless. Whither youat a chicken,
Big Mac, w wow, cauliflower. Okay, there you go. See,
so this would be this would be a chicken, Big
Mac cauliflower episode. There you go, boom, don't eat that?
All right, let's go this week on. Don't eat that,
so I'll make chicken and cauliflower. Next week blueberries. I

(05:18):
got a nice creative blueberries in my fridge right now, delicious.
Oh then three weeks you're gonna do celery. Just wait,
can't wait for that one. Actually, I think this works
all right, We're gonna do this all right, So forward week. Yeah,
don't eat that and we'll talk. I'm gonna find someone
that will make animated pictures of the three of us.
All I'll contract that out and this will become a

(05:40):
video series, a companion to the great audio you get
here every night on the iHeartRadio app four hundred plus
affiliates nationwide, and as always, download the podcast after we're done,
take it with you wherever you go.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Now, the team that needs to be especially after what
happened today, This star stud a team that needs to
be broken up, without a doubt, the Phillies. Why do
they need to be broken Well, first of all, Citizens
Bank is now a spirit Halloween store.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
So get all your your Halloween. Get all your Halloween means,
I mean you should rent it out. I mean it's done,
it's not doing anything. So yeah, I mean I would
agree that's just a little fast, but sure, Hey, let's
get in there.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Look, when the fans and the media in Philadelphia feel
worse about the loss than the players do, that's a problem,
and you got to break the team up to a man.
Everything we heard from the Phillies in the last twenty
four hours, they're shrugging their shoulders at at the loss. Right,
you had Matt Strom after the game say, hey, you
want to come in and be hot. We just came

(06:46):
up against a team that was a flaming ball of fire,
which it's accurate, But you shrugging your shoulders.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
What can you do with the team was hot? You
could have pitched better. Rob Thompson the manager, Hey, Met's
played well. They beat us in a short series. I'm sorry.
Is this the only year they're gonna have short series?
Or do you have to.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Win best of five every year to get to the
league Championshipies? Oh wait, lope, I just checked.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Pretty sure you have to win a best of five
series to get to the NLCS. So it's not one
of those Hey, it's a fluke year. They made us
play this short series and we lost to the Mets.
Oh wow, Okay, well but I think to his defense,
to all their defense's for that matter, is I mean,
you can't wear your heart on your sleeve the whole time.

(07:29):
But the short series thing is like, you're just stating
a fact. Yeah, but they beat us in a short series.
But like, understand, understand that this is what happened to yet,
but it's not a pejorative and dismissing it. It's just
y not.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
But then Trey Turner says, well, you know, I hope
we bring the guys back next year. We'll figure it
out next year. You've had three years. This has been
a great team. How are you fit?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You're not.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
You're you're advancing less and less every year. How are
you gonna figure it out next year? Nick Castatis won't
even say how they lost. He even said last night, Hey,
did the Mets beat us a series? Are they a
better team than we are?

Speaker 3 (08:01):
No?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
No, pretty sure, they are pretty sure. They beat you
in four games, you won one game. They beat you
when your best picture was on the mound. They beat
you when you brought your best relievers in. Doesn't matter
the All Stars, your team didn't hit. You were the
only two got. Him and Harper were the only guys
hit the entire series. I I feel like a Phillies
fan right now.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Were the only ones who hit this series. Everybody else
is terrible.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
New Jersey Traffick is at least give me a little
bit of Hey, this is unacceptable. This is something that
we are stunned that we lost this series.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
They were brain dead. They were zombies throughout the at
the plate, the entire series. Again, outside of Harper and Costeanos,
what were they thirteen for one hundred, that's the rest
of the batting order. Come on, man, you guys, you
guys gotta do better than that. But yet after the game,
it was all, hey, yeah we lost, hopefully he comes back.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
We have a really we feel really confident what we have. No,
this is where it's hey, wait a minute, we got
We need some changes. We need big changes because.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
What we have going on, obviously with all our All
Stars and everything else, it's not good enough. The All
Star leaders we have it's not good enough. But instead
it was more of a hey, shrugging my shoulders. Now,
I don't need you to be crying and being at
your locker with your head down off, but at least
give me a little bit of We just lost in
the playoffs, man, and this was supposed to be our year.
We felt great about ourselves, but instead we lost three

(09:21):
or four of the Mets the last weekend of the season.
We lost three or four of the Mets here and
we're going home after we led the NL East, wired
a wire over this series, and instead it was yeah,
short series. Eh, the Mets were hot. Yeah, what do
you want us to do? Okay, Hey, see you guys
in the fall. Have a great summer. Maybe we'll get together. Hey,
isn't it Joey's birthday in the beginning of August. If

(09:42):
you wind up going away for the weekend, call me.
I'd love to be able to go my dad so
I could go on one trip this summer. I'd love to
be able to hang out with you guys. But if not,
I'll see you guys in the fall. Okay, I have fun,
Go and see you in fifth grade. It's gonna be awesome.
That's kind of what the Phillies were come on, come on,
they went full dry idea eighty Z. Never let me
see a sweat. Here's coach Dan reives for dry idea. Look,

(10:03):
when it comes down to it, I get it. You
want to see someone wash because that's been one of
the big things that we judge, and part of it
is the twenty four hour news cycle that of what
we do radio and television. You want to see that
your players care, and as a fan, of course, you
want to see the fire in the belly. What was
one of the biggest criticisms of the Dodger team over
the course of the year is that they don't have it.

(10:25):
So all of a sudden, showy Otani always got to
do is flip a bat once. Yeah, look at the
juice from Otani. But that nah, well yeah, sure, that's
just not the personality of the squad. Get him on,
get him over, get him in for the Phils. Yeah,
we've seen more of that in the past. And what
do we credit Bryce Harbor a couple of weeks ago

(10:45):
for not being that guy anymore where it was full
on meathead at times. That's clout question, bro. All of
that stuff that he'd matured and do a squad. I
guess sure you'd like them to jump up and down
a little bit and be a little more pissed off.
But the reality is, I don't have another game to play.
It's time for the long off season. But and that's

(11:05):
gonna get you more contemplative and saying the platitudes more
than the damn it. We gotta figure out because you
don't how many of these guys are coming back.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
That is peak Philadelphia, that the fans and the media
care more than.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
But that's just I mean, heek Phillip man. I mean,
your guy Frank Is made hundreds of thousands of dollars
by just being a rating lunatic. So don't say it's
just Philadelphia. But I mean it's the same No, okay, no,
but it's But it's the same thing right in New
York and Chicago to a degree. Out here in Los Angeles.
I mean, they were so mad after the last Dodgers
home game. They were beating the hell out of each

(11:39):
other in the park.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
The Dodgers lose, if the Mets lose, if the Yankees lose,
are they're shrugging their shoulders, going, hey, we got babe,
what do you do? We'll do it next year. This
is the this is different.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Man.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
You didn't lose a series in August. I wanted a
little bit more, a little bit. That's just it. Though.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
We blew it and we need we need change, we
need something that's not Hey, we'll figure it out. But
it's all to go, oh, that's great, that's great. You're
showing me that you really get most happened. Most players are.
You might get it, but it's not gonna be the
raving emotion.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
But it was this.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I just gave you four guys and it's more than that.
Who were saying, yeah, I would love to keep the
guys together.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
That's it. Okay, great, I mean this is their management.
Deep thoughts with Jack Handy. At least they're not gonna
they're gonna be like, you know what if that guy
and this dirty so and so would have hit we
had two runners on and he went up and waved
it three straight lalls outside the zone, it's harper and
we would have had that game.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
It's not that you need to be suddenly over the
top and crying and screaming and bag but just show
me a little bit that, hey, we had this incredible
opportunity and we blew it and that is unacceptable. Instead
it was ah, get him next year.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Uh No, Look, the Phillies mean a lot to a
lot of people.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Guys are getting paid a lot of money. They're paying
a lot of money and yeah, okay, hey, well we'll
see you next year. Yeah, break up the Phillies. This
is not the right group. They need to get to
that next level they need.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
No man, I wouldn't argue with you know, but your
argument about, hey, they needed to show me some emotion,
and that's.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Why that was the whole reason. Yeah on me that
you care if you don't care, but I think they do.
Time to go do they?

Speaker 2 (13:04):
We lost? What can we do? All right, see you
in the fall, guys, once they're done and in the
clear my locker phase, see into whatever. Say you need
to make Fourth of July barbecue. See you guys have fun.
Uh they you know, they need, they need they need.
This woman she went viral today. This was from Philadelphia
News because they did the whole man on the street.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Of course you got the street. I feel about the
Phillies losing to the Mets. Uh, here's a woman who
starts off the package on the news. Cause you'd be
interviewed at a bar in Philadelphia and just how bad
this loss in Game four was for her.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
We suck. Okay, okay, that was not. But if you
go to a if you go outside a bar, what
do you get. You're not gonna get a calm, contemplative
Well gotta go. So you can't just say I'm gonna
knock on doors. H sir, did you watch the Phillies game?
Can you pa, come tell me what's going on?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (14:01):
But if I go outside a bar, somebody's been gotten
loomed up for three hours.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
I think I know what I'm getting. All right, here's
the girl from the news last night.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
So there's a couple of long points in my life.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
I thought, passing away.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
And I'm gonna have a Grand Slam, the Grand Slams of.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
The gig Courtney too bad part Courtney Courtney, I forget
what her last on Cortneytrix sister.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Uh my two big worst parts of her dog passing
away and Lindor's Grand Slam. And now Lindor's Grand Slam
is above her dog passing away. That's how bad it
was that I know. So that's someone who cares right there.
That's ahead of my dog.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
And he's somebody who's really thought out what they're gonna
say for the camera. What's happened in my life? That's bad.
My dog's die dog and hit the grand If I
say this, I'm definitely getting on the news.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
And it wasn't enough because you know, you know how
mad she was. She wanted all of the people around
her to be gone.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Thought the moretender's gone, I want to explaining.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
She wants everybody gone, right, she wants her best friend gone.
She wants the bartenders at Exfinity, the bar she was at,
she wants the bartenders going. She wants the bar she
is at gone. She should be the GMO.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
I think she did it, rewatching heels and realize what
the k FA move. Rid of everyone? And now she's
high five and everybody because she got on the news.
Get rid of everyone, get rid of every She got
the name of her favorite bar, and she ain't paying
for drinks the next couple of times she comes out.
No no, no, no no, she's the GM of the team.
No no, that was rid of everybody. Work get rid
of everybody means that was a work just hater You

(15:35):
just hater man? What a hater you? If I get
your name of your bar on the news, do I
drink free next time? Yeah? Okay? Coming up next, Jay
Glazerslaws by NFL on Fox Inside, Well, look at you
upset of the woman who's upset about their team losing.
The latest on Thursday Night Football, the forty nine Ers win.
What does that mean for them?

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Reaction to the Jets Steelers quarterback situation. Brady Nearly was
a member of the Bears. Take Laser has the latest
on that and more. Next, This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon
for forty nine Ers look the best they have in weeks.
They beat the Seahawks tonight thirty six twenty four to
take Thursday Night Football. The drama that is the Jets
takes another turn today. Speaking of drama, Got Steelers quarterbacks?
Got Tom Brady really almost was a Chicago Bear twenty

(16:40):
Joining us now on the hotline to break all that
more down NFL on Fox Inside a extraordinary.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Jay Glazer Jay Happy Thursday. Man, How you doing got
You know, look, we were just talking about this the
forty nine Ers win. Even though the games was closer
on the scoreboard, they were pretty dominant. I feel like
I have less concern about them now after this game.
Where are you on where the forty nine is are?

Speaker 3 (17:04):
I don't kind of look at the forty nine Ers
a game by game saying early in the season, no
matter what I mean, the White Kyle Sanahan always hasn't
seam ready, especially late this season, Like you know, when
it kind of comes out of crunch time, they're going
to be a team that you don't want to see
on your schedule. So I don't really have a problem.
Plus plus also like so much like look that offense.
It's such a difficult offense to go against when they

(17:27):
have all their weapons. So McCaffrey's still out, is still
going to be out there. They're still kind of you know,
assessing that. But when you have him in, when you
have te Boy in, when you have Kidd, when you
have all these different guys in there, but you never
know who's lining up where such a hard offense to
be aggressive with because you're aggressive with the rum. But
like you know, you may see people on the field
and you think of the receiver is really a running back.

(17:48):
You know, McCaffrey's lining up, You're like, oh, you think
he's a running back, he's really lining up at HVAC
or he's run up, you know, lining up live. So
it's so hard, and I think that's you know, as
the season goes on and Kyle kind of gets more
and more and other teams they're just yeah, they're they're
hard to the fair.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
For Obviously, the seventy six yard are from Guerendo puts
a punctuation mark. But Jay, they rushed for over two
hundred yards tonight against what was supposed to be a
pretty strong Seattle defense. I know they're banged up and all,
but they owned them.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Yeah. Again, for then, this is always just trying to
hand team right. They'ways they're always great and how they
run the ball, even like before they had McCaffrey, the
Elijah Mitchell blow the Wall the World and breeding and
stuff like that. You know, it's like they've always been
able to rush well. Because again with Kyle's offense, you
just don't know who load up against. You could He's
like he would, he'll have something. I think Brady set
up the game the other day. You'll go out there

(18:38):
and you'll think everything is loaded up for them to
run left, and you're all set up, and all of
a sudden come out, you know, as the play starts,
all the power suddenly on the right side. It's completely
different than what you taught when you lined up.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Jay to get away from this game and obviously the
the the soap opera that has dominated the last few days.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
The Jets fire Robert Salah, Jeff.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
That's a stable organization.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Yeah, you kidding, ads. As the world turns, it's like
trying to walk across a thin a thin sheet of
ice on a lake in the winter.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
So they fire Robert Salad, Jeff Olbrick is a new
head coach. They're still gonna call plays defensively. They replace
Nathaniel Hackett as the play caller today with Todd Downing.
Where are you after after seeing what's going on with
the Jets the last few days, where are you on
what's going on?

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Well? Here, well, first let's go Obrick step Obrick, whether
he was the head coach of the justice here or
someone else. That is the guy that everybody kind of
looks at in the league like that's your defense is
Sean McVay as far as like he's that leader, like
it's man the battle of floors, the raheem Morrison, dan
Quinn like dan Quinn is like he is broomed this

(19:52):
guy to be that next guy for so long and
Bricks do the guy out there he played from the
fort I for a long time. I got a funny
sord treat a little bit, but already nined for a
long time. He's a tough dude, and like he's the
type of guy like you want that you want Jeff
oul Bricks mean Dallin, you want his attitude. It's gonna
be a gang fight out there for him. So I
think he's gonna be a head coach for a long

(20:12):
time this league, whether it's for the Jets or somebody else.
But look, I can never figure out what he Johnson's
You asked me to figure out what he Johnson. That's
that's nothing I could ever do. But I think I
think that I think Jo Douglas's done a great job
person all wives over there. I think you know a
lot of this too, like Aaron's just doesn't play well.
A lot of it is, and the offense just doesn't

(20:32):
have any rhythm. Also, like their running games should be
a lot better than it is. So I do think that,
you know, they do need more of an identity over there.
But I also think like everyone's just success ought Aaron Rodgers,
we haven't played the year, he didn't play any preseason games.
You do have to get that timing down with you know,
your receivers, which running game, or your offensive line. And
I think they're struggling to get from that timing down.

(20:53):
But I do still think my personal who wives, I
think they're a really good team, and you know, I
think even with Sala, I think they're gonn come through.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Does the change make it any more likely that DeVante
Adams walks through the door.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
It has nothing to do with it. One has nothing
to do with the other. I mean, they're looking for
a two plus and teams just aren't willing to give it,
like Truck, If the Jets or everybody was gonna give
it two already, it would have been done. But teams
aren't willing to do that. And that's what's happened. I
think Mark Davis wants one thing, and the owners of
the Jets and you know, other owners like now or
we willing to do this, and DM's like, we're just

(21:25):
willing to do this. And that's the thing. If they
were you know, in the three seasons teams were calling
to try and the forty nine ers, you thought that
that was one of the teams called to try and
trade the Jets. Obviously they changed a bunch of teams
calling and their GM was like, now, I've got to
give him, give him time with Antonio Pierce like, I

(21:48):
just can't trade him away. I got to give at
a shot. But you know, coaches I talked to over
there saying, you know, and even if I think, you're like, no,
we don't have our quarterback in the future. So he's
going to get frustrated. And we know he's gonna get frustrated,
and you know, obviously that's what happens.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
The thing that Jay I think of DeVante Adams is
such a game changer. He's still so terrific. Okay two
and something else, Okay, I'm ready for it. Okay to
what do you want to and something else, like this
is getting DeVante Adams. I can't believe that other teams
have said yeah, sure, because no.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Because it's a one year deal. Because the rest of
the contract, that's the thing. You don't want to get
like two and something else. That's a lot for a
guy for one year. You don't want to run a
guy for one year and give him a two is
just too too valuable. And I know you're looking at
it from you know, man, it's about Adams, but not
for just a one year, dude. You gotta now that's
that's That's the other thing. There's not a lot of
teams who could put him on the cap right now.

(22:41):
The can you know Jet can, but team probably gonna
have to redo a deal get him in there. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
I was just thinking about all the teams where maybe
guys are going by the end of the year, I
may not be here, so I don't need to leave
the coverage stock.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Well, that's not the head coaches. The gms will be there.
They're like, I don't want to get.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Jay glazing with us, the Jason Smiths who with Mike
Carmon live from the tirerec dot Com studios. All right,
So I don't know if tonight you're hanging out with
Mike Tomlins soon. But we got to get in our
requisite Steelers stuff with the quarterback situation.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Russell Wilson's back at practice. Justin Fields is still playing well.
You talked about how much the Steelers love him dealing
with the George Pickens drama. This week? Is this is
this a is this a a a winner take all
week for Justin Fields? Where if he has a big week, okay,
if not, we're gonna see Russell Wilson play quarterback.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
I don't I don't know the answer because I can't
tell you what kind of week here. Here's the thing,
No matter what the Steelers, okay, Steelers are not there,
they're they've told bultous quarterbacks, you're gonna play with our identity.
Our identity is defense and running the ball, and we're
gonna grind j out and grind job. We're not gonna
play you know, Russell Wilson ball and you know, let
Russell cook. We're not doing that, all right, We're not

(23:49):
doing this same We're not gonna blow nobody out thirty
five to seven. Is that their identity? It's not how
they want to play football. So I can't tell you
if you know, with Justin Fields, like know, like another
quarterback there are really going to light it up. And
it's not really what they're trying to do, but I
think they's just for Justin. They just want him to
to be efficient and you know, make plays with the

(24:10):
flags that they need him to and certainly not turn
the ball over and turns the ball over that I
can see them making a move, but I don't know that. Again,
I that's that's all hypothetical because he doesn't you know,
and he keeps just growing, continue to grow, like they
do love Justin fielder there. They love him. They love
him over there and they could see him being you know,
a future over there. He's but there's certain things he's

(24:31):
still got to grow.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
With Jaye from one former Bears quarterback to what could
have been as the requisited you know, representative of Chicago
on the network, there's all this Tom Brady talk, you know,
just day after day it's another story and now you've
got ownership chiming in. How close was this and why
are they taunting me three years later?

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Well, because no one knew about what happened was Brady
did a tamp again and he was like, hey, here's
actually how I got the Tampa, which is why he
want Tom Brady is you're broadcaster. And I don't think
he ever told the story before he even said that,
like Kevin, I've never said this support. And what he
did was he put it's pretty interesting. And because Tom
and I talked about shephardly, he had like eighteen criteria

(25:13):
and then he rated them all I think it was
one of three points or three or five points or
something like that, and then he added them all up
for all the teams that they were like eight teams
and the Bears were right behind. And when he told
me the Bears were actually off and I believe more
than Damp I think. I don't remember, but I think so.
But like just in the points that added up. But

(25:36):
no one had heard Chicago before we knew about the
other seas, you never knew about the Bears. And that's why.
So yeah, that's the great thing about having Tom Brady
on our team now is you're gonna hear stuff like
no one ever heard anything about nobody. They did a
freaking ten part documentary at that you know nobody knows
about him.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
I mean I tried to talk it into existence all
those years ago, but you know they that clearly fell
on death here.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
And I do know. Look it was Ryan, Tathon and
Matt Maggie were trying to get this done, and yeah
they were. They were on the radar, but they were
a second tecting, like a real stealth second right behind
the buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
He's on Twitter at Jay Glazier. That's at Jay Glazer. Jay,
thanks so much, especially today being World Mental Health Day.
I know you talked to Michael Rappaport earlier on the
podcast today. How did that go?

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Oh great, He's a lyricous man. All right, it's great.
And obviously with you know our cover seven just happening,
also outspoken, I was like, man, how do you deal
with on on social media? Because my feelings get hurt.
I don't know how you deal with this. It's pretty
interesting what he said. But the World Mental Health Day
is I put a posset up today and I'm gonna
thank you guys and thank everybody out there. I could

(26:48):
never imagine I'd be talking about this on radio ever,
you know, I hit it for so long and now
on radio I'm on television talking about this, trying to
walk his walk with so many of you out there,
and uh, it's changed my life. It's put me in
a position of a level of happiness and joy. I
never knew I could really able capable of feeling so

(27:10):
on this World Mental Health Day. Mental health is not
just the gray. It's not just depression anxiety. It's also
like building ourselves up, building that mental wealth up. And
with all your listeners and you guys give me this platform.
You all have definitely built my metal wealth up and
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Incredible run for you, incredible year NFL on Fox, You're
you got married and Howie Long is your uber driver.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Like that's a pretty good years.

Speaker 3 (27:34):

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Still has four stars, Alidi Long.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Check out Jay on Twitter at Jay Glazer, the link

Michael Rappaport, It is there, Jays always buddy, keep fighting

Speaker 2 (27:49):
We'll talk to you. Great to catch up with Jay
and the show did uh. Jeff Ulbrick is the Sean
McVay of defense coaches. Quote there I look, I always like, look,
he's always done it. He's done a great job with
the Jets defense.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
And Robert Solid gets a lot of credit because it
was the system he brought over from San Francisco. We
signed fifteen defensive linemen and just kind of weave them
in and out. Well, that's you've been doing that for
two decades. But to hear but to hear him say,
Jeff Ulbrick is the Sean McVay of defensive coaches. Like
whoa man like that's McVeigh is him and Kyle Shannon

(28:28):
at the top of the list of Hey, who's the
young coaches you want coaching right now?

Speaker 2 (28:31):
And suddenly here's Jeff Olbrick as that guy. That's a
big line man. That's that's not a h you know,
let's dabble in this thing. That is let's let's just
put it out there. Sean McVeigh. Wow, that's a that's
a hell of a comp.

Tonight's game was at Seattle and San Francis.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
XSCO was the winner.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
Thirty six, twenty four, Brock Party three touchdown passes, two
to George Kittle. Niners had been zero to three in
Conference forty nine. Ers starting running back Jordan Mason left
with his shoulder injury, but returned to start the second half,
had one carry, and then left again. The Jets demoted
offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Todd Downing X of the Titans
will now call plays. Texans running back Joe Mixon returned

(29:24):
to limited practice after his ankle injury, but Bill's running
back James Cook did not practice due to a toe injury.
Jacksonville Titan Evan Ingram was limited in practice again due
to a hamstring injury, and running back Travis Etn was
limited again shoulder injury. The Minnesota Twins are exploring the
sale of the team. The Polead family has owned them
for the last forty years. The Al Division series will

(29:46):
continue to a game five of the best of five
in Cleveland on Saturday against Tigers Ace Trek scoobl Guardian
stayed alive with a win at Detroit tonight, five to four.
In the top of the seventh the two run pinch
homer by day Fry. He also bunted in an insurance
run in the top of the ninth. Cleveland had won
the opener seven nothing. Detroit took Game two on the

(30:08):
ninth inning, three run homer from Kerry Carpenter. By the way,
Carpenter left Tonight's game for Detroit with a hamstring entry.
The Yankees eliminated Kansas City INKC.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Three to one.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
Tommy fam three for three for the Royals, the rest
of his team three for twenty nine combined. Michael Walker
took the loss against Garrett Cole, who pitched seven innings
for the Yankees. Tomorrow a Game five on Fox TV
Padres at Dodgers to end their best of five NL
Division series. LA did name a starting pitcher late tonight,
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, to go up against the Padres. You Darvish

(30:41):
and ex Dodger. This will be the first matchup of
Japanese born starting pitchers in the history of the MLB postseason.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
So wait, it's not Kofax starting tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Although if he was around, and he has been around,
they probably would throw him out there. Okay, all right,
there is the story of After Kofax retired, the Dodgers
made the World Series A decade later, and he was
throwing batting practice to the team before, and of course
he retired young.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
He could still pitch.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
He was getting guys out in batting practice, and someone
had to run to the mound and whisper, hey, hey,
they're about to play a World Series game.

Speaker 4 (31:16):
You throwing him in a slum.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Name one eighty eight year old that looks as good
as he does on his planetstet. I bet he could
still throw it all speed, pitch first, right, I don't
doubt it.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
I bet he could.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
Game one of the WNBA Finals was quite the contest.
In overtime, Minnesota came back to win it New York
ninety five ninety three. By the way, Friday's exhibition in
the NBA in Orlando was canceled due to the hurricane.
Tonight's preseason game in Miami was postponed to next week.
Rafael Nadal will retire from tennis at the end of
this year. He's thirty eight years old. Nadal has won

(31:50):
twenty two Majors, and among the nine NHL games tonight,
the LA Kings were three to one winners at Buffalo,
Boston defeated Montreal six to four, and the LA game
at San Jose went overtime, Blues beat the Sharks five
to four.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Back to you, thank you, Steve O one leg? Why
is it always one leg? You know you gotta win
parlay going only to lose it all on that last
lousy leg. But rutal well, not anymore, because DraftKings Sportsbook
has your back with progressive parlays. It's okay if you
lose a leg because you'll still get paid.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
So even if you're forsaken by the football gods and
taken l you can still walk away with a winner.
So try an NFL progressive parlay today where you can
lose a leg and still get paid. Mike, and I'll
give you a parlay right now. I'm gonna go Sunday
over under for the Texans and the Patriots, New day
for Drake May. I think they throw the football round

(32:41):
a little bit. I think the Texans offense is gonna
see a little bit more of conciseness in the passing game.
Nico Collins out, but now Digs will slide in tanked.
That will be more of a weapon. Thirty seven and
a half points. I'll take the.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Over in that one. Joe Mixon, perhaps giving you some
juice as well. I'm gonna take the Washington Baltimore game
over under sitting at a robust fifty one and a half.
That's it, not seventy one in the hell No, And
I'm gonna take the under, wow, because I think Baltimore
realizes our defense is not good. What's our best offense? Run?

(33:15):
Run and run some more. Problem is the Commanders don't
tackle for anything, so it could still hit the over,
but I'm gonna take the under that they grind clock
and get out with the w.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
So there's Mike and I's parlay for you. Try an
NFL progressive parlay today. You can lose a leg and
still get paid DraftKings.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
We get you. So we got that. The crown is
yours well.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Coming up next, speaking of the NFL, Yes, Robert Sola
let go as Jets head coach.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Earlier this week, who's the next big time head coach?
You should be looking over his shoulder because his time
could be running short. That's next year. Jason and Mike.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
I was so upset.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
I was going to be fourteen and two because I
got the Bengals. I'm getting three. I'm awesome up by
ten in the fourth quarter. Flippin' Bengals, Come on, That's
what they do to you.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
At least it was a push. But come on, man,
I was counting. I was counting on that one. I
was No, you were counting on the lesser Lou ten
point leading the fourth corner, thirteen point. No, that Lou
keeps letting you down. The other guy is the guy
you gotta call.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Not this Lou, this defensive coordinator, this defensive squad crazy,
it's terrible.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Make it sound like it's a billboard. Call Lou, He'll
help you out. Oh what, eight hundred lawyers for you,
sweet love. So Robert Salah gets fired on Monday by
the Jet, Yeah he did, And now the Jets have
gone through all kinds of drama. How about Jeff Albrick?
How about Jeff? How about Jay Glazer telling Jeff Albrick
is the Sean McVay. Are you gonna go coaches?

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah, you gonna go get another chicken big Mac to
celebrate that one line?

Speaker 3 (35:40):
Might? I might?

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Because you are fixated ever since Glazer through that, like
you've been like, God, look at I got goose bumps.
I'm sogg everything's gonna be fixed. Yes, he's suddenly gonna
fix the offense.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
So digging that, But who's the next guy that's got
to be looking over his shoulder. Now, we're not gonna
say out, here's a you know, you're one in four
of the Jaguars, and well.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
He is the odds favorite. But that doesn't hear him
if you're bad. But Nick Sirianni, he will be the
next guy. All Right.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
You already know that things with the Eagles aren't great.
There's a weird energy, there's a weird vibe. You know
that he and Jalen Hurts don't see eye to eye.
What was Jalen Hurt's big comment last week was asked
about his relationship with Nick Sirianni, kind of laughs and well,
we kind of have our moments. So you know, things
are in sunshine, lollipops and rainbows.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
What do I say? I tell you dig the honesty though.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah, they are one step away from utter disaster at
all times, one foot on the banana peel at all times.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Yeah, but that's better than Aaron Rodgers having whatever hand
he did, no matter how much he does protest about
getting Robert Solid fired and then telling you how much
he loves him. I'd rather have the guy going, yeah,
we have our moments. No, but he loves him. Now
he's not working there anymore. I love the guy. I
love him. He's a much nicer guy and really happier
with him because he has no decisions that impact my

(36:55):
life whatsoever. I have to see him anymore.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
I love the guy. But this is the Eagles, right,
and and Sirianni, we know he's on a last chance season.
There were rumors that were gonna get rid of.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Him last year.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
So you know, the Eagles aren't gonna go through a
twenty twenty four like they did twenty twenty three, where
they were the best team in football and then middle
of the season came. There were ten to one and
suddenly a big losing streak and they go out meekly
in the first playoff game and they play like none
of them really wanted to be there. They're not gonna
go through that again, right, Jeff Fleury, Howie Roseman, this

(37:27):
is their team? Is that Nick Sirianni's just a guy.
This is our team. They're not gonna go through year
with another really talented roster. And oh at the end,
it doesn't work, and we're firing Nick Sirianni. If it's
not working Week ten, if it's not working. Somebody else
is the head coach of the Eagles the rest of
the season, because the NFC is there. No one's running
away and hiding. The division is there for them. The

(37:49):
Commanders right now are the best teams. So that tells
you about the NFC East a little bit. But week ten,
they'll give a little bit more time. We're getting into
week six now, week ten, that's gonna be it. If
the Eagles are still sitting there at five and five,
four and six, Hey, guess what someone else is that
head coach? Right Uh, And it's not even gonna be
a decision. It's gonna be something where we're gonna know.
It's gonna appear obvious, but that will absolutely happen.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
One thing we'll find out coming out of the the
bye week is they get their wide receivers back, right
they've been playing shorthanded and you had aj Brown for
the first week of the season. He put up a
big stat line and was fantastic and running him up
and he's not been there since. So you know, injuries
are part of the game, but certainly you can't discount
what he means to that offense. Sirianni. Right now, the

(38:34):
second favorite in terms, it doesn't sound right to say
second favorite. Second favorite to be fired Peterson at plus
one twenty five. Look, he may not get back from London.
If they go and get worked by Chicago, then you
got Sirianni. The number of guys who have gotten fired
coming back to London, that's a lot. Yeah, four to
one for Sirianni. The third favorite is the former coach

(38:59):
of the year, not long ago, No, the guy from
last year, Stefanski. He sinks to one, Dennis Allen right
behind him at eight to one, and then your guy
Mike McCarthy ten to one. I'll tell you, And here's
what's gonna what could exacerbate the situation. Not that this
is gonna be something that makes that decision happen, but
it's gonna be the cherry on top of the Sunday,

(39:21):
the final straw. If the Jets start to light it
up and play really well under Jeff Elbrick, then the
Eagles are gonna say, Okay, if we ever had any
questions that this is something that can work a team
with expectations firing a coach midseason and trying to make
that season still mean something, Hey, the Jets fired Robert Sala.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Look at them winning. Now they're six and four whatever
they are, Hey, we can do this right, and if
it doesn't work, that would be something that maybe make
them back off a bit. But that's a big thing.
If the Jets start winning and they start getting the good,
start stacking w's, and the offense starts playing well, you
know the defense is gonna keep playing well.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
It's that good. But if the offense plays well, Eagles
are going to say, there's no more questions. We can
do this.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
So now if we had any questions at all, this
is the final strow. This is the final bit of
evidence that we need that we can make a coaching
change a week ten.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Well, but to put it on your timeline, if things
are still struggling after the next four weeks, then you
should burn it all down Cleveland this week at home,
at the Giants at Cincinnati, and then Jacksonville should be
no worse than three and one in this next four
and then you got at Dallas, whatever version of Dallas

(40:30):
you get. At that point, Lawrence Parsons back, whatever the
offense looks like. But the next four weeks are all
winnable games, and so at that point Yeah, certainly you
can have a decision point. And let's face it, in Philadelphia,
the fans and the pundits get a lot more excited
than the players and coaches, right mm hm one percent.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
They're more excited, they care more about than the athletes do.
At least the Phillies do. Eagles maybe different, but at
least the Phillies.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Go outside of bar. They'll tell you whatever you need
