Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
You want experience during your football season, We'll buckle up.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Sweet cheeks.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
We've got all the experience in the world. This is
I Want your Flex with Dan Byer and Mike Harmon.
Mike and Dan break down everything you need to set
your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
To starts and sits.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
It's a hump day, welcome in. I want your flex.
He's Mike Harmen, That's Ryan Berschinger, our executive producer. I'm
Dan Byer. All hanging out. Getting set for week seven
of the National Football League season also allows us to
take a deep breath that we as we near the
almost a halfway point. If you start your playoffs in
week fifteen, if you have a three round playoffs, yeah,
(00:56):
week seven is your halfway mark. Wow, fantasy football season. Yeah,
it's moving on by Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Would you believe that I've got the mixed bag continues
and I'm still winless in a league?
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Really?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:12):
And six?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah, it has been an absolute disaster. I grossly and
vmently disagree. With the way the league is set up.
But my protestations were met with deaf ears. Uh, what's
the proj just had bad, bad luck, and look a
couple of guys that I took shots on that have
been awful.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
What's the problem with the league? I find interesting?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Well, twelve team league so standard.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
By the way. I don't know what Mike's gonna say,
but I just am curious because I have an issue
with one of the leagues that I'm in as well.
But I'm sorry, go ahead, no, no.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
No, it's all good. You know, super flex which again
I'm I'm not a fan of super flexes, and another
flex and then eight bench slots, which means there's no
viable much of anything on the waiver wire. So if
suddenly you've had a couple of injuries, now, look, we
(02:11):
did the Tuesday podcast of all the waiver wires or whatever. Yeah,
these are guys that were scraping and wishing and hoping,
right because they're just the fifth man up for a team.
But generally there's nothing like at the quarterback position. There's
literally not a guy who's scored a point this year
(02:31):
available on waivers. So if one of your quarterbacks is hurt.
Like my team in particular already sucks, but I've got
justin fields. There's nobody on the waiver wire to go
replace him with. Yeah, because everybody's carrying three or more
quarterbacks in the league, so.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
You as well pick up Philip Rivers and hope that
maybe some team don't.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
That's right, right, I mean literally, you're at that point
with where the waivers are, and again not sour grapes
like the team that I drafted. I've gone through some
injuries and I've lost shootouts and life goes on, but
it's just one of those you don't feel like there's
really lot, a whole lot of anything you can do
(03:16):
to make the team better. Sure, so in week six
you're like, all right, I'm not abandoning it because it's
an industry league, but it's like, it's not also a league.
Folks aren't going to trade just because you know it's
that kind of league. You might see one or two
go through, but you're just at a point with that
(03:37):
depth on the benches. It just murders activity.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Man, do you like super Flex? First? Are you a fan?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
I'm playing in my first super Flex this season, so
I'm getting used to right now, I like it because
I have both Tua and Kirk Cousins, so I'm good
with that. So at the moment, I'm enjoying it. Also,
this was a This was a dynasty that started this season,
a super flex dynasty, and because of the way that
(04:07):
quarterbacks are valued in super flex drafts, I was sitting
at the night slot, and the first eight picks in
the dynasty startup, We're all quarterbacks. Quarterback so of course
I'm sitting there then saying, okay, well, I could take
like Anthony Richardson, which is a great dynasty picture, or
I can just take Justin Jefferson here and do that.
(04:27):
And so I did that and then took Jamar Chase
on the turnaround, and so now I have them for
the rest of their careers. And I feel really good
about that because I still got like Tua and and
Kirk Cousins, who's been phenomenal the season. So anyway, right now.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
I like him.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
My point point to point to say is, uh, I'm
enjoying it. It did force me to roster Zach Wilson
at the beginning of the season, which felt hilarious, but
that's it's still it's just mildly funny. Now, so yeah, no,
I'm I'm intrigued by what super Flex has to offer.
I'll I'll see how it goes.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
It's too much for me, I just I I don't
to that point, Like there's I don't know why you
wouldn't take quarterbacks and maybe burst. I don't know what's
your record in the league. You lost justin Jefferson, but
I'm undefeated. Yeah, okay, well, I.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Mean actually ridiculous, Yeah, ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
It's also the reason why I think you would try
to take them, sure, right, Like, yeah, if you're in
that draft, how many teams? Ten? Ten? Okay, different story then.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, yeah, if it was I think if it was twelve,
it would have ended up a little different. But unless
I'm misremembering here, I thought that there's only ten teams
in this league. Let me let me double check. That's
all right, No, no, no, there's ten.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
There's ten.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Okay, Yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
It changes the board. And let's face it, if if
you're not, if that's not where you've been drafting, it's
like anything, right, drafting your first guillotine. Yeah, as of
the people that are participating with us, it's a different
animal than twelve teams, standard league or standard with one
flex or whatever, that all of a sudden is like,
(06:11):
all right, the draft board looks completely different, the strategy
is completely different, and the runs may absolutely decimate you. Right,
And that's what happened in this particular one. It's like, right,
I get Barkley, and I get Fields and then every
other viable quarterback. So your second guys become players like
(06:32):
Car and Garppolo. Now, Car, you would have thought he
would have been better than he is. Not that I
expect him to do anything come January, but you know,
when regular season figured there'd be some highs Garoppolo roll
of the dice, you'd at least have DeVante Adams, maybe
they'd actually take Hunter Renfro out of moth balls, and
(06:55):
they have not. So it's just been a miserable experience
of like, all right, let's see what can fail now,
and this week, Week six could have could have been
a winner. But justin Fields goes down, it goes down early,
and that's the end of that. What was your league thing.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Dan, I'm in a league. I'm in two leagues. We've
got our one long term, twenty six year league where
rules don't change that much, and then I'm in another
league that has IDP, and it should be let me see,
it should be ic S, because I can't stand it
(07:32):
like it is is there's there's no there's no skill
to it, like the thing was super flex to me
is and the reason why I wasn't as keen on
it as you guys were talking about it is because
you're just trying to get quarterbacks. Is kind of the
(07:52):
sense that I feel with IDP, you would think, who
are the best defensive players that we you know, talk
about them football Micah Parsons, TJ Watt. No, in this league,
it's all just middle linebackers, Yes, guys who get tackles,
and it to me, that doesn't That doesn't tell me
how great they are. Maybe they force a fumble and
(08:14):
you get an extra bonus, or maybe they get the
one or two interceptions that they get a year and
you get a boost. But there's that's completely random. And
I was in a tight game on Sunday night, and
again I'm already annoyed by it, and I've been annoyed
by it for the last couple of years when I'm
still in the league. I just think it's really, really dumb,
and it's not only one spot at spots, but I'm
(08:36):
watching the game and I'm hoping that James Cook doesn't
get a handoff and is then tackled by Bobby o'kerke
of the Giants because he's got both of the guys.
Like it's it was so insane that like, I'm watching
this game and I'm like, Okay, I've got an eight
point lead, but it could be dwindled depending on who
(08:59):
makes the tackle. Like it just to me, it just
is like this is this is garbage. This is random.
Like if the Bills or excuse me, yeah, if the
Bills run to one side and and they don't run
to the other like that, there's no skill, like when
you drafted that person or picked up that player, you
weren't considering that. I think that there is in team defenses.
We talk about it every week. Bursch has a streaming defenses.
(09:22):
There's at least some consciousness, some thought put into it
on how you want to move it. IDP. When you're
just giving points for tackles, to me, is completely random
and completely worthless.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Well, you know what the best part of it is,
What's that tackles are not an official NFL stat Oh
there you go, So the home statistician decides, so, so
generally go back and look at some of your your
favorite linebackers tackle totals and their home road splits.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
Sure, I'll tell you what I've got. I got, I
got your boy TJ. Edwards. He's awesome. But you know, well,
what's you know it's you know, it's okay, the Bears stink.
Guess what. He's probably gonna have to tackle a lot
of running backs as they run down the clock. Like
that's the only strategy that would come about it. It
has nothing to do with him really making plays. And
(10:12):
that's to me, that's that's silly. Just it's so dumb.
I did.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
I did one league years ago that had IDP in it,
and I never understood how the scoring worked because somehow,
some way they skewed scoring so heavily where the the
you would have one IDP, but they would get like
fifty to six.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
You'd be worth more than anybody else.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah, I had, like I had Derrick Johnson and he
was just raking. But like I'm sitting there like he's
consistently scoring thirty points more than my quarterback, and I'm
going what is what's going on? I have no idea
why or how this is happening, but uh yeah that's
uh I yeah, I don't envy you, and I.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Want nothing to do with IDP. I played gosh. I
think it was Josie Jewel a couple of weeks ago,
like got hurt in a game, you know, like and
it happens to anybody, but he had four tackles and
I'm like sweet, like, you know, because he was probably
gonna end up with ten or eleven, just like every
(11:12):
single linebacker and every other you know team, Like, so
your guy gets hurt, and yeah, there's injuries, but there's
also times where running backs get shut down. DeVonta Adams
has two catches. You know, that stuff happens, but this
is just guess what. It just there's no there's no
rhyme or reason for it. And actually I kind of
feel the same way with Superflex. It's just more of
(11:33):
like I would have loaded up on quarterback. That's all
I would have done. I would have been the guy
that burst wasn't in the draft because it would have
been like, well, I don't want to be stuck with
Zach Wilson or you know whatever. The case is, and
I think that takes some of the some of the
fun out of it. It's just me.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yeah, I could cur I feel that. I feel that
the only thing that I have to complain about leagues
is that, well it's it's an anti it's a in
my league. This is the first year where we have
removed kickers, So we no longer have kickers in leagues.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Well that's a shame. I'm serious. I like kickers.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I I'm I haven't noticed them being gone one bit. Really, Yeah, yeah,
I like it, to be honest, Like I'm I'm very
happy to be without kickers, and like I I understand
like the involvement that it adds this extra layer of
almost you kind of throw a lottery ticket at the
(12:29):
end of the at the end of the roster, and
there are some some ways to get guys in that
you feel more strongly about. But also looking at the
fact that, like Justin Tucker was probably the top drafted
kicker out of out of drafts and right now he's
sixteenth at the position you shouldn't be rostered in twelfeen leagues.
But he also just had like nineteen points last week,
(12:51):
and even with that, he is kicker number sixteen. So
I think that the fact that it's it is such
a weird position in terms of like really trying to
to get a handle on that. A lot of it
is pure luck. If you look at the top kickers,
like Nick Folk is third right now for the Titans,
(13:12):
there's there's a lot of randomness and a lot of
variants that go into it. I get why why some
people like it. I I think that there are ways
to have it better. For example, in the one league
I'm in that still uses kickers, it's negative one for
any miss field goal, So even if you attempt a
seventy yarder, that's still a negative one. Even though that
that has nothing to do with the kicker, that's that
(13:35):
is that's a hail mary.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I know once upon a time miss pats was like
minus five.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Yeah, that's like way back in the day. So yeah,
there there there are ways to combat it. But I mean,
we we know which teams can't finish drives. Tennessee's lived
on defense and field goal kick. Yeah yeah, not barons anybody.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Hey. The the aspect of the miss kick though, like
think about that Buffalo game on Sunday night and you
have Tyler Bass. Okay, that instance of Buffalo getting a
first down. If you're in a close game, let's say
you're up by half a point, you're like, don't kick
(14:19):
the field goal, don't kick the field goal. Or if
you're down by two, like you are actively engaged in
watching it, and then it can have the effect, you know,
on the outcome of the game. I think the tackle
portion is random. You did mention Nick Folk, and I
completely agree with him. But listen, Harrison, Butker's there, Jake
(14:40):
Elliott's there. You know, Matt Prater was great for years
because he's kicking indoors in Detroit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
So I do think like there there is some to
your point about like, you know, Tucker being the you know,
the greatest kicker that he is in his fantasy value
that happens, you know, I mean, you know how valuable
(15:02):
is you know. Actually I didn't play fantasy baseball, so
I was going to use an example, and then I
knew Burst was going to just shove it in my
face if it was a bad example. So I wasn't
even going to But sometimes the best players aren't the
best fantasy players. But I'm surprised I do like kickers,
So where harmon are you four kickers are against generally four?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yes, I think there's a strategy going back to the
prayer and players like that, like look at wherever and
IDP is a whole other animal. But from the quote
offensive side of things, when you can include more players, right,
why the PPR became so popular. We can get the
guy that moves the chains involved. And you know, do
(15:46):
I agree with you know how some of the you know,
shovel passes whatever count as completions, Yeah, maybe not, or
the quarterback scoring at a larger scale for some of
that stuff. No, But from the kicker side of things,
like they're important to the game, right, I mean they
(16:06):
have a massive impact. And look, I was sorting some
trading cards. I just found one that was like a
they did a paint what looked like paintings and it
was of Norwood's miss. So I mean, like, I always
have to celebrate those kind of things, right, big moments.
We celebrate the highs and lows. And for some offenses,
(16:27):
let's face it, they're not fine in the end zone.
So you want someone valuable on that squad might be
the kicker.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Let me give you just four of the top nine
guys defensively that are available in my IDP league if
I wanted to pick up Max Crosby, Micah Parsons, Nick Bosa,
Aaron Donald, Oh, make it five Miles Garrett. So those
are the five of the top nine guys that I
(16:56):
could pick up if I wanted to, because they are
all available. Like that's like, that's my point, you know,
make sacks five points then well no.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
But that's the thing, right, those guys should There's got
to be some some balance to the edge rusher, who
are the highest paid guys and most impactful players in
the game, yet they have no value there.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
In the In the end, this whole fantasy segment has
just been scathing reviews on three commissioners that have no idea.
They are being held to the fire. That's what we
have done here on I want your Flat.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
It's setups. It's setups, because I mean it's universal all
of the especially you know kickers like bursh just hates kickers.
Now sound like an x NFL player kicker.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
You know. I've had a couple of people say, why
don't we just make tight ends receivers? Why do we
even have a tight end position, something we've talked about,
I believe on previous years because of how bad it's been,
and maybe you just mixed that in and you know
you don't even don't even have a designated tight end.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
No I did. That is starting to shift right. It's
a wide receiver tight end.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Yeah, however it works, all right. We got some more
to get to. That's Ryan, Mike, I'm Dan. It is
I Want your Flex. Coming up next, we're gonna dive
into our trade targets. Yes, it's about that time if
you want to make that push for the second half
of the season in the playoffs. Who's you to be targeting.
We'll tell you next year And I Want your Flex.
(18:29):
Welcome back to I Want your Flex. He's Mike Carmen.
That's Ryan Berschinger. I'm Dan Beyer. Burst came up to
me in the halls this week and goes, we got
to do trade targets on the podcast this week. So
that's what we're gonna do. Let's tart. Let's target some
players that you think we should maybe acquire or go after.
Maybe you can get it at a decent price. So Burst,
(18:49):
this is kind of your baby, your idea wants to
start us off with some names that you think we
should go after.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
So one name I think is interesting because you're not
only balancing like guys who are going to help your team,
but guys that you can get at a reasonable price.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I like to buy low when it comes to when
it comes to trades, and one that I think is
very interesting. Running back is really rough right now with
all of the injuries. I think you can get Jerome
Ford at a pretty good price because you saw last
week suddenly Kareem Hunts get worked into into the offense.
(19:30):
But despite that, this is against the Niners. Jerome Ford
had a fifty percent snap count, which prior to that,
he was really around there for the games prior to
that as well, even after Chubb's injury, he was sixty
two percent of snaps against Baltimore fifty six against Tennessee.
So it's not like Ford was dominating the snap count
(19:53):
as it was, and he still, even with Kareem Hunt's involvement,
had seventeen touches for eighty four yards. So I think
that people who have Jerome Ford might get a little
a little hesitant because of Kareem Hunt starting to get involved,
and you look at the schedule moving forward for the
next few weeks for the Browns, you have at Indianapolis,
(20:17):
at Seattle, at home against Arizona, at Baltimore, at home,
against Pittsburgh at Denver. There's a handful of very strong
matchups in there. So if he's still getting half of
the snaps and still being used heavily on the ground,
Kareem Hunt's still going to be hell. He will cut
into that, he'll get some passing work, but Ford will
(20:37):
still be used as a strong running back. He gives
you a strong RB two and so I think that
you could get him at a pretty good price right
now from somebody.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
See I'll stay on that theme and go to Indianapolis. Right,
Obviously we got Gardner Minshew takes over full time. Richardson
expected to miss the rest of the year. But with
Zach Moss Jonathan Taylor, right, depending on which side you
want to go after, right, because if you want to
go and buy low on Taylor, the person that still
(21:08):
drafted him in the first round, you might be able
to do the Hey, you know, Zach Moss is a
look how effective he is. He's not going anywhere. They're
not suddenly gonna shut him down, or if you want
to go after the Zach Moss like. You don't think
they pay Jonathan Taylor to just sit around, do you?
I mean you could play it out of both sides
your mouth, I think there and maybe come away at
(21:31):
a decent price.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
By the way, on versus Jerome Ford, it sounds like
versus a first on race day Ford guy, and not
a found on the road dead guy. That's what Chevy owners.
You know what I'm talking about? First? Do you understand this?
Speaker 1 (21:46):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
So there's the Ford and Chevy rivalry, okay, and there's
other car manufacturers. But if you hate Ford, there are
a lot of different acronyms. One of them is found
on road dead. That's what Ford stands for. But if
you love Fords, if that's your baby, you love the
Mustang first on race day. So that's why you are
(22:09):
a first on race day, Jerome Ford guy. I don't
have any acronyms for Jonathan Taylor.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
I just really like the you like. It always makes
me think of the old Toby Keith jingle, I'm a
Ford truck my hand.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
That's when I there you go, he's a first on
race day. There's probably other versions that aren't as clean
as this.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
One that we got paid a lot of money. Do
you be a Ford truck?
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Yes, I'm sure. I'm sure he did.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
As well as some Probably a couple of Ford trucks
barked in, you.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Know, I'm going to kind of take along on Mike's
but I got I got a different player, and he
may not be as easy to acquire, but I think
it's at least worth looking into. I think Aaron Jones,
the Packers, if people are holding on to him, they're
waiting for him to come back, but maybe people are
just frustrated. Maybe they're frustrated when he you know, tried
(23:00):
to come back and play a little and then it
didn't you know, didn't pan out against Detroit. Then he
was out again. I would at least inquire because aj
Dillon really has not done anything, and when Green Bay
actually has done things this season, and it's always back
and I know, sorry Mike was against your bears, but
the pack our versus team, the best they've looked actually
(23:23):
was week one when he was you know, when Aaron
Jones was on point. So I think Aaron Jones is
at least worth a phone call to maybe an owner
who may just be getting a little restless or just
sick of having him on his bench and maybe needs
a gap elsewhere.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
How about a quarterback to throw into the mix here.
You know, we've talked about a lot of love for CJ. Stroud.
Eventually that offensive line gets healthy. But I'm gonna go
one deeper a guy who currently is the sixteenth highest
point gettories, third in the league in terms of passing yardage,
and that's Matthew Stafford of the La Rams who's going
(24:01):
to be rostered as a backup. But with Cooper Cup
back Kyen Williams banged up, we'll see how long he is, right.
We talked about it and tried to rationalize it out
to where maybe he misses three games or more, more
dependent on that quick hit passing game, maybe a little
more Higbee, but certainly between Nakua and Cup that the
(24:22):
yardage comes, but also in the red zone efficiency where
Kien Williams has been a great find for them that way.
But maybe it gets back onto Stafford's arms in these
next few weeks.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
One name that I think that you could probably still
get a strong value on, just because he's coming off
of a rough game. But that is Hollywood Brown who
this season. He's wide receiver fifteen on the season and
very quietly doing so because I think a lot of
(24:57):
people didn't expect much from him in Kyler's absence, but
because Josh Dobbs has been effective as a quarterback, Hollywood
Brown has had some decent games. He still hasn't cracked
a top fifteen yet at the position on a weekly basis,
but is sitting at wide receiver fifteen on the season.
He's coming off of a week where he was targeted
(25:18):
eleven times, he only had four catches. That's the third
straight week where he's had double digit targets. He got
a good matchup with the Seahawks this week. After that,
the matchups aren't great, but this is going to be
an offense that's going to be continually throwing. So if
you can get him ahead of the Seahawks matchup, that's ideal.
If not, this might be a better target to target
(25:41):
closer to your league's trade deadline.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Well, but he's a guy whose name has been mentioned
in a bunch of potential trade deadline yes, NFL wise,
so he might find himself in arguably a better position here.
No disrespect to Josh Doobbs and the efforts of the
Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
They're trying really hard and they give effort. But you
just wonder what happens around week twelve and week thirteen,
you know, with that, So that could be even though
I resent you saying, good matchup against the Seas.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Yeah, he really did try to slip that one in
there at indn't he?
Speaker 4 (26:15):
Dan? Yeah, just seeing what Devin Witherspoon's been doing, Jamal
Adams keeping that Joe burrow Led offense in check this
past week in Cincinnati, I'm just I'm being well, they did,
they did, they did, you know, But but yeah, that's
that's all right. There's they have pieces, all right. I'm
not going to talk about the Seas. I'll give you
(26:36):
one name. I'll give you a name, Dak why not. Yeah,
you know the touchdown run I thought was very promising
that he had Monday against the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
That was as fleet of foot as we've seen him
in a while.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Sure, how about this, guess what Ceedee Lamb's done at
number one. Lamb's got to get the football, all right,
They got him the football. You know, they're matchups that
they have and they've got to buy coming up this week,
So it could be the you know, you know, perfect time,
the opportunistic time to get them. But you've got the Rams,
(27:11):
then Eagles, Giants, Panthers Commanders. Remember the game that they
had against the Eagles last year. Points in that game,
you'd have points in all those games after that, the Seahawks,
Eagles again, Bills and Dolphins. That's what you'd be set
up for. You'd have the Dolphins in a Week sixteen
matchup playoff semi finals, and you're starting the quarterback that's
(27:34):
against that defense that you're gonna need points to score
in that game. That to me sounds like a recipe.
So if you've got an average quarterback, why not just
take a swing and try to get Dak It can't
be any worse than he was against the Niners a
couple of weeks ago and turning it around a little
bit against the Chargers this week. That's my pick. Michael
(27:55):
Pittman Jr. Could be another one. Sure with Minshew now
at quarterback. You're talking Colts, but I think that could
be one to target because now I think that their
passing game is much more of a of a threat.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yeah, he's a beast. Just just hopefully Garder Minshew continues
to wing the ball around, you know, when that two
headed running attack isn't going insane, so opportunity knocks there.
There's a bunch of wide receivers where you're just like,
I just wish your quarterback was better, right because Deontay
(28:34):
Johnson missing all this time, coming back and a guy
that I just can't trust he comes back to anything great? Right,
he's rostered in a ton of leagues and maybe you
got someone frustrated because he hasn't been there? Am I
trusting that Matt Cannada is suddenly going to figure out
a way for Kenny Pickett to get him the ball?
(28:54):
And there's other guys of that ilk, right, Ryan Tannehill's
banged up. DeAndre Hopkins now he's a jag. See now
I'm gonna have someone come and try to fight me
for saying it. But he's just a guy. Trevor Lawrence
banged up? Uh talk about Thursday Night for Week seven?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
C J.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
Bether Is Calvin Ridley anything more than a back end too?
Right now? I don't know, like you.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Just tried to lull us in the you getting Calvin
Ridley in our Guillotine League. Isn't that what this is?
Speaker 2 (29:29):
No?
Speaker 3 (29:29):
I spent way too much on Justin Herbert. I don't
have enough money to get Calvin Ridley.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Oh okay, just making.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Sure maybe maybe, yes, yes, I'm trying. I'm trying to
talk to you guys off of Calvin Ridley. I think
I've got enough Calvin Ridley exposure in my fantasy teams already.
I need to diversify my portfolio.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
I have. I have one more player, but I don't
want to burst you have more, any couple more guys
you like.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
My only other thoughts, I think that Javonte Williams is
going to get more and more of the workload as
he gets healthier. It's not fun to roster a member
of the Denver Broncos right now, but you're looking at
a guy who should retake the backfield as a steady
(30:21):
contributor and a guy who's going to get the bulk
of the touches. And I mean just just you know,
listen to my shining endorsement of the Broncos. I'm sure
people who own Javonte Williams are not super excited about it,
so you could probably get decent value. And if you
want to trade for somebody like a Nico Collins and
(30:41):
you have the luxury of being able to take on
somebody on their bye week, I think now's a good
time because the Texans are on buy and he's coming
off of two not as strong performances as what he
did prior to that. But then it's at Carolina home
against the bus. Then he's got the Bengals, Cardinals, Jaguars, Broncos.
(31:04):
There's gonna be a handful of games in there where
he's he's going to he should put up wide receiver
one numbers because he's got some very very nice matchup
wide receiver one in a twelve team, not like one overall.
I'm not saying that suddenly looks NFL, but he has
(31:27):
a nice run there for your playoff run. And uh,
if you're sitting in a good position and one who
could acquire somebody on their bye week, and that would
be a nice time to grab Nico Collins.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
We should put that headline up because it's as logical
as CD Lambs, not a one.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
I was gonna say, DK Metcalf gives me the runs,
and that's why I would almost trade him away the
way the problems that that my goodness, you want to
talk about going after guys. I got a trade off
for DK Metcalf. That was a very very fair trade offer.
I just didn't have room for a running back in
(32:06):
the league that I'm in, and it was DeAndre Swift
for DK Metcalf. But I just, yeah, I needed I
need wide receivers, and I couldn't do the deal. And
he's there are things with being a leader and things
with you know, being a team player, and he's none
of those. He's getting fifteen yard penalties, you know when
(32:30):
and you look at his stats. Maybe the Seahawks will
try to feed him the ball. But Gina Smith may
up be as good as we thought that he was.
You know, at points last year I would I would
look to sell DK Metcalf at a high price while
he still can tough off of a four cat sixty
nine yard performance. But I don't think you're going to
see monster numbers from him anymore, so that maybe a
(32:52):
sell high sort of guy.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
I'm now saddened did sell it off one of zone
It's I've done with him.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Well, I just for how I think they're going to
transition and into the second half of the season. I
just you can't get fifteen year penalties. And you know
there's Tyler Lockett just had a nice game. They have
yet to get Jackson Smith and Jigba really involved. Sure,
(33:24):
you know Zach Charbaday has been and I think that
they've cut a lot of things to figure out on offense.
And I don't think that getting DK Metcalf his touches
is going to be the number one priority. Could be wrong,
but just yeah, I don't know. I just if you
could get something really good for him, I think I
would do a deal and send him away or just
(33:44):
buy really, really really cheap if there's somebody like me
that wants to get rid of them. There you go.
There it is some free advice for the for the
week as we near the halfway point of the season.
All right, that's gonna wrap it up for this version
of I Want Your Flex So for Ryan Burshing, our
Mike Harmon, I'm Dan Bayer. We're going to be back
Thursday previewing Jaguar Saints. Get a much better idea of
(34:06):
what's going to happen with the bill of health for
those teams and the other thirty in the NFL, or
at least the ones that are playing in Week seven
that coming up on Thursday. Plus Burschez is streaming defenses
and I'll give you a survivor pick or two as well.
So for Mike and Ryan, I'm Dan. Talk to you
next time here on. I want your plays
