Speaker 4 (01:14):
Parker. What's up man? What's happening to mister christ Bachard?
How are you? I'm fantastic.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
It's freezing out here in the in the Northeast, but I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Doing well, what when you say freezing, just so I
know I'm not well.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
I think it's in the twenties. Yeah, it's in the tent,
but you know what, and get colder than that. But
just a little walk and I don't have a long
walk from but you can feel the garage to the uh.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's just basically a block or two uh to the.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Studio for first things first. But yeah, it's it's chilly
out there.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
No, I was gonna say, uh.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
And then finally snow like it hadn't snowed in almost
a year and a half right in New York or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, but yeah, yeah, and I think it might be more.
It might have been more than a year. We did
get snow.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
It's believe son, but still got a few, like Chris,
it's been crazy.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Like I was talking before to somebody in DC and
they said they didn't this was this year when I
was down there. They said they didn't get one snowflake
a year, you know, last year at all. Yeah, and
then this year it hadn't snowed until now. I think
God got snowing. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, so it's it's some strange weather. But fortunately we
are all right.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
And today's a TV theme song Thursday. So I'm excited
for TV themes, aren't you?
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
And we got a new uh well not new, but
Mark Ramsey is on the boards instead of DJ Alex Tysher.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
So Mark, it'll be interesting.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
To see what tunes he's playing for this TV theme
song Thursday.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
All you gotta do is stick with the sixties and seventies,
That's what we say.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Okay, Mark's there and we're going to go Mark, are
you older than robbing me?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Are you our age? You don't have to say the number,
but are you younger than us?
Speaker 5 (03:00):
Think so?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, So don't let me see it. Let me see
I don't know anything on your hand, give me an
a there something. Yeah, he's younger than us, Chris, he's
I don't know anything. Posts like eighty seven. No, I'm
with you on TV right after that music, but TV.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Shows not we're working. We were sports writers. He's older
than us. We're out at games, we're you know what
I mean? Every night we didn't.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I had time to watch a lot of TV, some
with you, the covering sports and and we worked at
night all the time, so there was a lot. I'm
telling you, I'm with you like all those TV shows,
I didn't see any of them. The shows that I
even like, most of them, I saw in reruns, like
I never saw the exact exactly. All right, we'll have
all fun with that today as well. We've got Shane
(03:46):
Mogan guard for Rob g Welcome. Sh Shae is the
most chilled guy here at is he?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
I never I don't know. I don't think I've met
is like Shaye. Have we met? We've met? We met
once and then I was an intern in twenty nine
to a long time ago.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
But Shay is like, you know, skateboarding and you know,
he's got Cali, he's got the he where's the dunks
and all that, and the baseball cap Brooklyn Dodgers baseball cap.
He's got on a Fox Sports a hoodie that I
gave him. He's good, He's good to go. It's a
coffee hoodie.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yes, all right, you know he bought that at Ross and.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Chris. Just be quiet, be quiet. Also on the updates
mister Steve, Steve de Seger and on social media, the
great and Elijah Sabuna. All right, Rob, let's get into
it their reports. First of all, we know Bill Belichick
met over I guess the.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
One weekend Yeah, with Arthur Blank, the owner of the
Atlanta Falcons, and now reportedly has a second meetings scheduled.
I think over this weekend coming up, Joe Cina Anderson's
getting out in front saying that barring a snag, Chris
that that.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Ain't a report.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Well, but but I think today Rob today, and I
know this from when I was a reporter.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
You just she was like on the show talking.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Okay, okay, you know you know what I'm saying though
we're saying, and she didn't write a story saying sources say.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
Bill.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
I feel better about it because I was like that,
ain't that ain't a report.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
But sometimes as a reporter you get upset because I'll
be I would be on the show just talking and
giving my thoughts and look, I think he's headed to
my you know, just so I think so and so
is headed to Miami, and then next thing you know,
it's report and Bruce are saying so and so is
going there. Man, No, you just talking and you know,
(05:47):
giving your peaceive mixed speculation, mixed with some of your
knowledge from talking to people around the league. But anyway,
she thinks he's he's going to wind up in Atlanta. Rob,
My thought, is mistake for the Falcons and a mistake
for Bill Belichick. I think, first of all, he's seventy
(06:09):
two years old, so he's got I mean, the oldest
coach in the history of the league was seventy three. Now, granted,
could he go on longer than anybody else by far,
sure if he wants, But Rob, that was Romeo Cornell,
who was an interim, And so I think Bill Belichick's
(06:30):
likely only gonna coach, say four more years. I don't
know if I'm even being generous, but say four more years.
Let's just say, okay, so three four more years Atlanta.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
It is hot, Rob, who's the quarterback? That's my thing.
I get it.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
They've got a lot of talent, all right, but they
don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
And we have seen I've been banging the whole banging the.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
You know, drum for years that Bill Belichick hasn't done
anything without Tom Brady is his quarterback. But Atlanta, That's
why I wanted him to go to a team that's
ready made, not to the point.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Where it's not an accomplishment.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
But if Philadelphia had they gotten rid of Sirianni a
Dallas had they gotten.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Rid of McCarthy, A Buffalo, had they gotten.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Rid of McDermott, even a Chargers rob where you could
see the makings for a good defense that he would
certainly improve. And you already have the quarterback Atlanta. I mean,
will they trade for Justin Fields?
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Possibly? But what is Justin Fields? We don't know yet
what he is.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
And I've seen Bill with mac Jones. I didn't like
the way he handled him. I mean, giving him a
difference a coordinator who wasn't even an offensive coordinator was ridiculous,
and so I don't like it. I think Belichick would
go there and it wouldn't be great. Maybe in that division,
could he have some success. Maybe, but until he gets
(08:04):
a quarterback, a seasoned, proven quarterback, which they don't have,
and I don't think it's coming. I don't think it
would be a great move for him or the Falcons.
I think it'd be a mistake. Well, here's why I'm
gonna pushback on you. Hey, you don't know what other
opportunities that are out there for him.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Maybe the Chargers job isn't available because they want hardball.
Maybe some of the other spots Chris, that just aren't
You could sit there and say, I want to pick
and choose what spot I want, but there might not
be a spot for you as a seventy two year
old coach who despite all the success he had, so
once somebody's interested, right, you gotta take a real listen,
(08:45):
because it ain't like he's got He's coming off a
super Bowl and there's ten jobs and you get to
pick and number two you don't know, Like you say,
the roster has talent, Chris, and you could take a
look and go, we're going to get a quarterback Russell Wilson.
We're gonna do whatever it takes. I'm just so so
(09:06):
that could be the plan. It's not just Bill Belichick.
Is Bill Belichick plus a quarterback and then having him
molding up the talent that they have. If he likes
some of the defensive players, get their defense up to snuff.
And you talk about all the time that division Chris
is for the taking, isn't it? And he's probably definitely
(09:26):
for the taking, and he's probably looking at that, am
I right? Like that division? Like it ain't like, oh
my god, you're going there, you'll never win. You go
out there with the Chargers, Right, you hope to win
Mahomes and and and the other.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Do you see it?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
So it ain't as bad? I hear you, But I'm
not so sure he has his pick of the litter.
That's what I Okay, that's fair, That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Wouldn't he Do you think how much success Let's just
say they got Russell Wilson or Justin Fields, asking you project,
but how much success do you think they would have
enough for Bill Belichick to get the record?
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (10:08):
I think wherever he goes, he's gonna get the right. Okay,
but I think he wants a super rob. If he
goes to Atlanta or anywhere and it doesn't go well,
he might get the record. But I'm say wins seven
games his first year, eight games is second year, and
that's the record, right. I don't know if it's fifteen
(10:31):
to tie or fifteen it's fifteen to pass either way.
Let's say he gets the record but has two sub
par years. Now, we'll everybody will celebrate him getting the record.
That will be great, but other people might look at
it like, man, here's two more years now. He was
(10:51):
terrible in New England, and whether it was his fault
or not. They were terrible by the time he left.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
They have four wins.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
He was terrible in New England after Brady, terrible for
the year before Brady got there, terrible in Cleveland to
the boy we got fired. And now he goes to
Atlanta or wherever and it doesn't work out either. And
again nobody I would I would push back Rob or
anybody that tried to just say he can't coach, because right,
(11:21):
because you don't take away the six rings and you
can go down any coach, Chuck Noah with Terry Bradshaw,
Bill Wash with Montana like none of them really won
without their.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Main guy, Chris. So you know what, I as good
as Bill. People will push back Rob.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
As good as Bill Parcells after those two at the Giants.
Now he never won again. No no, no, yeah, I'm
just saying he never won again. But he was a
great coach and he got he got the Jets to
the AFC Championship Game. He uh, he got the Dallas
Cowboys winning, you know what I mean, Like, but he
to get No.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Look, New Yorkers probably do because you know when I
was here, Rob, they're talking about ourselves.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Is the best coach ever. Now that was before Belichick won.
You know, right, But I'm just saying right, I mean, so,
I get what you're saying. But I still think he
wants to go to a team that's gonna give him
a chance.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
And why to wait a year? Though?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Nah?
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Not a seventh What if Philly false flat on his
face again, that job would probably be open.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
I don't know if Dallas false flat, maybe maybe that
would be open.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
I just don't think that at that age you could
wait one year removed always too old?
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Are you really hiring a seventy three year old?
Speaker 1 (12:31):
I think that's why the first job where there's real
interest in him, Chris, is why he's on it. I
believe that that that's the reason that the phone ain't
ringing off the hook where he got nine job offers.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
You know what I'm saying, Then you then you could pick.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
That's why I believe he is all in on Atlanta
just if they got a job for him, all right?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty sixty nine, You turned the way in.
Is it Lanta a great fit for Bill Belichick? And
is Bill Belichick a great fit for Atlanta mistake on
both sides. I say yes, it sounds like Rob says no.
What are your thoughts? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on

Speaker 2 (15:01):
In b A.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
With that saying, Rob, let us go to the big news.
Last night we talked about it. Mike McCarthy retained as
Dallas head coach. Guys, do we have any sound of McCarthy? Yeah,
we do, Chris, we do, all right here he gave
He had a press conference today obviously to.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Discuss the news that he would be remaining. And here's
what he said.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Why she.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Was then and coaching this team?
Speaker 6 (15:29):
Yeah, because I believe that the direction, you know, the leadership,
everything is in place, and I'm not very comfortable talking
about myself. But I came here to win a championship.
I didn't come here to get another contract or anything
other than that. I came to Dallas to win the
world championship. And that's why I'm standing here and buying
to us.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
No, I'm not buying into you.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I wouldn't put two cents on Mike McCarthy, Dak Prescott
and the Dallas Cowboys because you know I picked them
to go to Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
That you bought into him. I bought in. I want
to refund. I got my receipt. I want my money back,
because this is buy into you.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Based off of one that had his best year, Chris
Up the Cowboys won sixteen straight at home.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Yeah, well, I mean what really, it's going to be
different next year? Really?
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Come on, this was the year now, I don't know.
I mean, this was a year rob at least for
them to get to the NFC Championship.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
I agree with Chris.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
That's why it would have Yeah, it would have been
disappointing for those that picked them or wanted them to
get to the Super Bowl, but you would have at
least been able to say, you know what they got
here for the first time in twenty eight years.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
Right, almost a roundty years, Chris, Philadelphia falls apart.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Right, you're playing eight, the youngest team in the playoffs
since nineteen seventy four, with a quarterback making his first
playoff start.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
You've got home field advantages.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
You said, you won sixteen straight and basically demolished almost
everybody you played.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
At home at home. Chris was at home, and then.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
You the next round, you're probably getting it. Would it
would it would have been Detroit, right, which you should beat.
I mean they they played you tough at home, obviously,
but you would have been favored to beat.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
And then in the NFC championship game maybe with the
forty nine ers or somebody.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Right, if you lose, Hey, it is what it is.
They were just better, but maybe you would have won.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
But Rob, you're right, like, if not, Green Bay's only
getting better, Niners aren't going anywhere. Detroit's only I think
gonna get better, Rob. The Rams will probably get a
little better, and then somebody else might have murdered. Philly
might get its act together, probably will.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
To some degree. So this was the year, Rob, It
was the year.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
And that's why I would just be like, really, might
buy into you. Everything's what's this is not the first
time this has happened when you guys laid an egg
at home and you know in the playoffs, Like, this
is a reoccurring thing.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
This isn't a bad day at the office. This is
the office.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I mean, I'm like every day every day. I mean,
I mean the woman who was a reporter, we didn't
hear the rest. I don't know I would have followed
up Chris and just said, I just need really, like,
why should we buy in?
Speaker 4 (18:29):
This is what's happened the last few years.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
You keep winning twelve regular season games, keep losing at
home in these playoff games.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
You had just won sixteen in a row.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Your quarterback had been playing as well as he's ever
played well.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
And not only did you lose, you didn't lose. You
got embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
You got humiliated to a team that's only in the
playoffs because the NFL wants more playoff TV money from
adding more teams.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
That's the only reason they were in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yeah, you're right, Like a loss, a heartbreaking, gut riches
one point loss would have been bad, right, that would
have been bad, Like, hey, they wouldn't have escaped that,
but to get.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Bludgeoned, to give up the first twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Points, to look up and be down twenty seven to
nothing in your own building a place, Chris, you have dominated, dominated,
go I don't know what the margin of victory.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
One seventy two, one hundred and seventy two points.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
They outscore teams by in eight games, in eight games
in Dallas, total of one hundred and seventy two points.
I mean when they were averaging like thirty five thirty
six points at home. I mean, they were a juggernaut,
pure and simple, and Rob, here's what like. So next year,
this is what I think the Cowboys will be. I mean, barring,
(19:47):
I actually think they should go get Derrick Henry. I
hope they can do that. That'd be fun. But I
think because the question was posed, or it can be posed, Rob,
So what will the Cowboys be next year? This is
what I think they'll be. I think they'll essentially be
what they've been the last three years. They might go
twelve and five again, they might go eleven and six. Heck, Rob,
(20:09):
they might go thirteen to four. They might right, They'll
probably have a really good regular season, but you won't
be able to buy into them. Will Now I look
at them like I look at the bills, like they
gotta show me before.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I really buy in. Believe they're an I'll believe it
when I see it team. That's what they are. Now,
nobody would buy in.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Why would you buy into the Cowboys with a Chris
the history as we brought up with Calvin Watkins from
the Dallas Morning News of the Cowboys and Jerry Jones
their history's awful. And then Mike McCarthy the last three
years with winning twelve games and having nothing to show
for it. I mean, there's no way. Dak Prescott, he's
two and five. That's not feelings. Those are facts. Two
(20:58):
and five.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Chris's new Tony romo.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
He just did.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Put up all the numbers you want. There's nothing. There's
no payout, no dividend at the end. There is right now,
it's hard to argue that. And now will he can
He change it going for sure, But until he does,
people aren't.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Going to buy in.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Right he is now going to be viewed as a
regular season quarterback until he does something to prove people wrong.
But there's no way anybody should buy into anything that
the Cowboys are selling.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
No, I mean they're they're running it back and yeah
it Rob. It is just incredible that they I even
think like Jerry didn't have to. I mean why people
act like now you either gotta make you gotta make
a decision on your coach the day or two after
the last game. I mean, you can wait. And I'm
(21:56):
not saying it would have changed his mind. It wouldn't have.
But you could do little homework.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Why the rush you did? You really did all that
homework in what one or two days? Right?
Speaker 1 (22:09):
No?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
I mean that that tells me you're not looking at
it as seriously as you need to be either.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
And I don't understand it. I thought he wanted to
win a super Bowl. I thought, more than anything, Chris,
he wanted to prove that, UH wanted to.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Prove that.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Jerry could win without Jimmy Johnson and and you know,
and and the direction that they're leading the team. And
instead there's been nothing like there's there's been nothing. And
I just after all these do.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
You still believe that that he wants the super Bowl
more than anything? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I do.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
I still believe. I do believe he wants it, but
he only wants it. I don't think he wants it
more than anything. No, he wants it his way.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
He wants it.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
He wants it, Chris. But he wants it his way
and he's not gonna do it any other way. And
that's why he's in the situation that he's in. And
you're you're staring thirty years in the face, which you
would be like, how in the world. There are only
three teams, Chris, that haven't been into the league championship
game and and and it's like the it's like the Lions, Cowboys,
(23:18):
and the.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Browns. I think those are the only teams. Think about
the Lions should get there. When the Lions, it looks
like it that it should.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
They don't.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
It's a colossal failure on the no part. I'm but
they're at home. They got Baker Mayfield in the box.
They don't win that game. That's on them.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
That's a big that's a big fail. If they don't,
it wouldn't be as big as the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
But no, but it's a fail. It's huge. I think
it's a huge failure if they do that.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
But but Rob, yeah, I mean, look and Mike McCarthy,
we said it last night. He's a good coach, but
it's Super Bowl or bust for this team. And Rob says,
Mike McCarthy won his Super Bowl twelve what twelve years ago?
He's been in the playoffs or thirteen years ago?
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Twelve times. He's missed the playoffs three years and his
record is six.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
And nine in the playoffs four times, including twice with
the Cowboys, he's been eliminated as the higher seed. Right,
this is this is the pattern. That's why I'm saying
this is not a a bout one bad day, Chris,
where you where you chalk it up? If this was
it was like when we talked about Brandon Staley, what
(24:35):
do we say after that? Colossal and Barratt like like
they should have made the move gone right? And what
they do bring them back any way to why to
convince themselves? I guess you know what I mean? And
what did it do?
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Chris? The season?
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Fella paar, same old thing that And that's at some
point you can't and I get it, you can't change
coaches every year, but this is not every year. He's
been there three years in the world and three years
in the row, twelve twelve wins quis and nothing to show.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
For it, and Rob, it's either ind comically or you know, embarrassingly.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
What was the other one?
Speaker 3 (25:11):
I mean when they just didn't manage the clock well
right years ago, Ezekiel Elliott had it on at the
center position. And then this year you just get blasted
by a nine to eight team on your own turf.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
Like they've been.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Ugly endings, like almost inexplicable endings to these games. And
like I said to me, Rob, Jerry Jones is more
concerned with having the microphone in his face, the camera
on his person or focused on his person and having
the attention in the control and he's not gonna bring it,
(25:50):
like Calvin Watkins was talking about how it was with
Parcels that was a different team. Like I think Belichick's
smart enough Rob to know you don't have to come
in and.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Rebuild this team, right, you know this is not a rebuild, No,
And that's why you meet with somebody. He's right about.
He thinks you can at least meet with him.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
He's right about Bill Parcells. But at that time, the
Cowboys that bottomed out they need and they needed and
they needed to rebuild. Because I tell you, I still
say this, Chris to this day. The best job Bill
Parcells ever did was when he rebuilt the Jets. Remember
they were one in fifteen with Rich koe Tight. Two
years later they were in the AFC Championship game against Denver.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Yep. Two years later, I mean that ain't incredible.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Good job with that yep. No, it's just we can't
buy it. I don't know who's buying it. Let's see
if any of the listeners are.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, particularly you Cowboys
fans out there, but anybody can call eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Mike McCarthy says,
buy into us. We're legit, We're coming back. Next year's
going to be different. You buying it or selling your thoughts?

(28:11):
after we get off the air. Of course, tell your
family and your friends. Rob let's go here. Of course,
a big divisional round of playoff games coming up this
weekend in the NFL, and I think Rob, there are
three quarterbacks in my opinion, you might disagree, but I
(28:35):
think there are three that are facing and in a
big amount of pressure. I brought party because they are
wildly favored to not only win the game this weekend,
but win the NFC at the very least. In fact,
I think they're still favorite to win the Super Bowl,
(28:57):
even though Baltimore blasted them when they plate and Rob,
they've got four all pros, and they've got such a
talented squad that if they lose, a lot of people
will blame brock Purty. Now, it's one thing if he
goes out there and throws for three hundred yards, three touchdowns,
(29:19):
no picks, right, right, But in most cases most scenarios,
like the defense is gonna be pretty good, and if
he just plays a bad game and they lose, he
will really get criticized.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
The other two.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
First, I think Josh Allen rob has never been able
to get over Mount Mahomes. Right, He's he's beaten Mahos
three out of four regular season games Rob, but only
he's zero for two against him in the playoffs and
the one playoff one, the one where he came back
and got that touchdown that wasn't his, Like, no, I'm
just saying, I'm just saying that.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
But that he got the touched down at the game,
he got the touchdown at the end Chris and the
d in the thirteen seconds, right, that had nothing to
do with him.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
I'm just saying, no, no, But he still viewed as
a guy that has underachieved in terms of the playoffs
and hasn't been able to get past Mahomes and Rob
If you don't do it this year, when Kansas City's
offense is as bad as we've ever seen it, when
the Chiefs played five hundred football over the second half
(30:26):
of the season, When you have the home field advantage
against the Chiefs, when are you going to do it?
Speaker 1 (30:34):
And so if he, just like we talked about Dak,
if Josh Allen doesn't win this game, he could very
well be viewed as a regular season quarterback too. And
then you've got Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
We talked about him a little bit yesterday about to
become the youngest player ever to win two straight MVPs,
or not straight, but two MVP awards and they both
before Well he's twenty seven now, but yeah, he just
turned twenty seven, but he might I think he just
turned twenty seven. Yeah, but he might be both unanimous.
(31:09):
But yet in the playoffs he's been one to three.
He's played poorly, four touchdowns, seven interceptions, and again they're
facing a rookie quarterback at c. J. Stroud, who, as
good as he is, is still a rookie and has
a team that's not nearly as good as Baltimore. So
if he were to lose this weekend, Rob, he would
you know, get crushed as well and be viewed again
(31:30):
as a regular season quarterback. I personally think the most
pressures on Lamar. Now, some people might want to throw
in Mahomes first role playoff game golf, right because they're
playing Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay, who they should win.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
They're at home like their other guys obviously love and
c J. Stroud.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Jordan loves c J. Stroud really playing with house money,
So those those guys a house money, right, right, So.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
I think Lamar has the most pressure this week it Rob,
where are you at?
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Yeah, it's got to be Lamar because of what he
was able to do and were assuming that he's going
to win. I don't think anybody's doubting he's going to
win the MVP, Chris, So I think it is because
of that, it's going to be on Lamar. And that
doesn't mean that brock Party is off the hook because
rock Parties off the career. Yeah yeah, yeah, But if
(32:30):
I had to pick one, I'm gonna pick the guy
who just won MVP, who just had an unbelievable season,
the guy who just.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Beat up on rock Party.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
And you know, and the forty nine ers, you know,
in the big game of the biggest game of the year,
so to say. So to speak, So I do think
it's Lamar. I think Lamar has something that is time
to put it all together. He has a team, he
has all the pieces, Chris, there's no real excuse playing
football the way I expect him to play. I'm not
(33:02):
saying they're gonna win by forty or anything like that.
I just expect him to win.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah, And I think the good thing about Lamar one
of them, is that he understands that, you know, he
that's all he's talked about it won the Super Bowl,
well right, But yet he's got the right approach, Like
when people have said to him throughout the season, oh
you did this, you did that, you guys crush so
(33:28):
and so he's always like, you know, we haven't done
the job yet.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
You know, we.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
Have one goal in mind, and we got to take
it one week at a time.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
And he's never, really I haven't heard him overlooking the
next opponent. Even as he's talked about his one goal
is to win the Super Bowl, He's always taking it
one week at a time. Rob Whereas I think with
the Cowboys, for instance, the biggest example of a team
that underachieved this year. They were talking Super Bowl and
(34:03):
I even think I think overlooking teams. I think they
overlooked Green Bay. Yeah, I mean, you know, part of
it could be that, Chris. But the other part is
they just weren't ready to play.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
I mean, I get it because we talk about this
all the time, and there's a I'm mixed because I've
seen that.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Oh, they just gave them billboard material.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
There are plenty of teams that gave teams billboard materials
still got beat like, like you know what I mean,
because the other team was better than you, right, and
and so that doesn't always work. And nobody ever goes back,
you know, after the team beat somebody with billboard material.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
It's only when you lose then people go see, you
never should have said that. They never do it when
they talked a big game, Chris, and they win.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
But San Francisco did that the Philly this year, yep right,
And ain't nobody said anything right if.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Philly actually did it to Kansas City, yep. So, But
this is uh for Lamar.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
He has no excuses. No, they're healthy for the most part,
Chris they got their team. They can run the ball,
their defense is dynamic. Oh my god, that's a record
setting game ever to lead the league in scoring, defense, sacks,
and takeaway I mean, they do it all. They do
it all, and that's gonna be a big part of
(35:24):
the game as well, not just Lamar. Lamar just has
to do his part. This isn't about Lamar having to
score forty five.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
But he's had a lot of games rob where you
just look at the box scores, they're not that impressive, right,
but when you watch it, he controls the game's scrambling
at the right times, much like Mahomes. But obviously he's
a better runner than Mahomes, but both of those guys
scramble very effectively.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
What about Allen rob This, I mean it's it's just
now or never, like like like the Chiefs. This is
mahomes is first road game right in the postseason, Chris
not talking about a neutral site super Bowl, but a
road game. So it's big when you play at home
all the time, and they have the Chiefs, they've been
very fortunate. Now they're in hostile territory. The Chiefs aren't
(36:17):
that good, you know, like They're good, but they aren't
what we've used to what we've seen in the past.
They're beatable, They're very beatable, and if the Bills can't
make this happen, you could almost put up a bowl
on the whole thing. Chris McDermott allen that team the
way it is, And I'm not saying that Alan's going anywhere,
(36:39):
but I'm saying as far as feeling like, you know,
like they like like they're window closing, I could, I
could really feel like that's the end of another Buffalo chapter. No,
there's no doubt about that. And excuse me, yeah, I mean,
(37:01):
this is the year he's got to get it done.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
Look, I think McDermott's job is safe rob even if
they don't win.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
I think, Look, I don't get I'm not convinced that
I think there's an excuse for him.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
While I wouldn't, you know, I've been saying this job
should be on the line, but they have a lot
of injuries, and they had a couple guys injured last week,
and so I think that could serve you know, when
he made the change to Dorsey as OC or got
rid of Ken Dorsey, I should say as OC put
in Joe Brady.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
They've been rolling ever since, and so I think that
gives him an excuse.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
And then I think if their defense doesn't play well,
the injuries to the defense, that gives him an excuse.
But I don't think it should be that cut and dried.
I think they really need to look at it if
they lose.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
But I'm with you. I mean, this is the year
they need to get it done.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Do you think Mahomes is under any pressure being that
it's his first road game.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
No, And I don't think that people really expect if
he were able to get to the AFC Championship, get
it would be a miracle and it would be a
testament to him. I don't think he and if he loses,
I don't think anybody's gonna come down because this team
just was inconsistent.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
All year, Chris, They really weren't.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
They lost what at one point they lost like four
out of five or something like ridiculous, like they were
five and five sean in their last ten, right, So
I don't I don't look at it like Mahome's gonna
be like, oh my god. Now if they make some
changes and it's a struggle again next year, then people
will be like, Okay.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
What's going on here? If they lose, they gotta go
get some receivers. Oh, Lisa, they got to improve the team,
Chris next year. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
The defense is really good, the run game is really good.
The old line could use a little tinkering. But Rob,
to me, their main thing.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
If Kelsey comes back and Noah grades okay as a time,
then then I think the main thing is.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Gonna says he said, he said he's coming back.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
If I if I recall, because once you start talking
about retirement, I always wonder about that.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Yeah, but I think I'm pretty sure he said he's
coming back. So they really need to meet one thing,
and that's receivers. So we'll see. But if you're right, Rob,
if they win this game, I just think the Kansas
City mistique grows right, and it's like man, even in
the year, when they look down, they go ahead and
get it done, or at least get deep in the playoffs.
(39:33):
So all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine or Fox,
you'll turn the way in which quarterback is under the
most pressure this weekend, Lamar, Josh Allen, Brock Purty or
somebody else.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Your thoughts. Next CHRISI Rob the Eye couple, Fox Sports Radio,
