Cleveland Browns. He'll join us at the bottom of the hour.
You don't want to miss that, and in plenty of
football and baseball to talk for the next three hours.
So without further ado, let me bring in my partner,
the hid boat himself, the hatingis brother of all time,
(01:53):
Rob Parker. Mister Rob Parker, thank you very much. I
was trying to think of something else. I was gonna say,
you know, the second most hating his brother according to
the Patriots, but that would contradict my exactly. I just
said let it go, And all I'm gonna say is
I appreciate it. Uh, and I will wear that proudly,
(02:16):
that Moniker, because man, what a weekend for yours truly,
what a bad weekend for Chris Brusso. Yes, really yes?
And I aren't you a big Carson Wentz fan? All
I mean all, I get it. Did I misread the newspaper?
The internet did? Did SportsCenter? Uh? Undisputed? Did they get
(02:40):
it wrong? No? I'm talking aback then, like the Philadelphia
Eagles won a football game instead of getting crushed up
in Minnesota. So here you are already. Can you just
step down for a second and let me talk you
the one step down, good step down. I give you
this huge introduction and you immediately all right, shooting bullets
(03:01):
at me. Yeah. But and you're shooting blanks like you've
done all football season. Yeah yeah, all right. I'm on
you today, Chris Bussar, because you were the one, and
we'll talk about it. The Rams aren't gonna make No,
don't sit here, we got that. Look here's the one.
I don't know. You're not out of the playoff picture.
But the looking good that's for darn shut you had.
(03:23):
You had of course, uh that you got the Jets
in the playoffs, chrod You even bring this up, dack
Jets in the playoffs. Dak Prescott is an elite quarterback.
That's what you said after after they were three, said
he's hold on, rob Did I say he's elite he's
still or did he crash on four? Five? On the
(03:43):
four times gets rocky? There are detours sometimes you gotta
go a different stopping. But stop, how is Aaron Rodgers route?
We're not talking about We're not talking about this. You
can't different, folks, No, no, no. After the first three
games against nobody, and I told you that you were premature,
you were ready jumping around talking about him and you,
(04:04):
if you were the Cowboys, you would sign him and
give him the money because you're gonna cost you more
money later. No, they might wind up saving themselves money
on the way that this thing is. And then and
then also Patrick Mahome, Oh he got ten twelve touchdown.
He gonna do this, he gonna get fifty again. You
know what he's on page for. He's on page for
(04:26):
thirty nine. He's on page for under forty. And and
he had glade you, I'm glad, and he had three.
All I'm telling you is all get his forty and
you're gonna owe me some. George Chris brus Sard is
the prisoner of the moment king and the premature king.
Everything you said it was premature, and you shot your
(04:49):
bullets before you should have. That's all I'm saying. I'm
not giving up on Patrick Mahomes. I'm not saying you
have to give up on him. But you crowned him.
You had him at you had him at Jordan Lesque.
He ain't no crown her ass. He ain't no Jordansk.
Give me didn this gen Alex played in his green
right now crowning play down the crown him and crowned
her ass because I'm crowning him. Go ahead, you could
(05:11):
do it, but it doesn't hold anyway. It doesn't hold
any weight. Put you he ain't unstoppable quarterback, dude, Jordan
nesk my foot, Jordansk, put your money where your mouth is.
Ain't forget the chicken weight. We already got it bad.
We've got a bad tied chicken. We got a bad
(05:31):
Let's put some air Jordan's because no, no, no, you
never play. You never played when your loss less. You
can't do it. Jordan's can't do it now, chriss Oh
I can do it, you chicken. NOI I told you
the Lakers when nobody, when nobody else shout it, you
(05:54):
step when nobody else said that, Alex did I nobody
you told Michael? I mean, oh Lebron making the playoffs.
Of course he's gonna make the playoffs. He's the king
and all I'm trying to tell you if I told
you mean nothing now, I told you no, you're not
shutting me up. If you're so confident he do it
(06:15):
forty did put your money with your mouth. Pay up
on your Jordan bet and I'll bet you another pair?
All right, so you lose? This is bet another pair
of Chris. This is the No. How do you lose?
Is what I'm asking you. If you're so confident? What
if you're so confident? Right, you owe me a pair.
Let's put up another pair of Well, let's do it.
(06:37):
And then if you're gonna win that you don't want me,
let's better pair of Jordan's. I just went on Patrick
Molls throwing forty No, but you gotta acknowledge that you
owed me the ones from the Lakers. What I'm talking about. No,
he's so confident, but he won't bet it? All right,
how would you confident? Floor? And then let me talk?
Go ahead? Since you keep interrupting me, I turned the
(06:58):
mic off. Ahead, all right, we have to understand the parameters.
We didn't understand the parameters that time. I'm thinking, of course,
if Lebron gets hurt, bets off. You're thinking, no, if
he gets hurt, I'm not Las Vegas. You can talk
all that Vegas that I'm not Las Vegas. I'm Chris Bruce.
Sorry one individual. Now, the parameters are this. If Patrick
(07:22):
Mahomes stays healthy, I'll even give you a game if
he plays at least fifteen games and he's banged up now,
but he's playing through it. If he plays at least
fifteen games, he will throw forty touchdowns. And you're talking
all that stuff. Let's put a pair of air Jordans
on it now. If he gets hurt and he's out
at least two games, bets off. Anybody can understand that.
(07:46):
So you come up, bigging bass, sticking your chest out, Steve,
coming out of your ears. Let's see where you are now.
Now you want to make the bet or you want
to continue to eat some old chicken wings. Nope, we
have a chicken wing bet which will stick. All I'm
telling you. We were he was nineteen, he was nineteen,
for thirty five for two hundred and seventy three yards on.
(08:09):
You gonna answer me at Jordan's or not. We're not
betting because you wonst on the bet. We have everybody
and everybody, everybody in the st just blowing. Everybody knows it.
Am all right, alex Hi, even Lee wasn't even producing
the show. And you know that you don't want to,
really you you don't already made the best, already made
the belief that you would put your money where your mouth. No,
(08:32):
because you always give yourself an escape clause, and I
don't bet like that. You're not talk No, you don't.
I back it up. You got your Mayfield, you got talking,
all that you got the commercials. Oh that man, you
gotta be right backing it up. No, you always have
an escape clause. I don't know if he misses a
quarter or two beta. That's all you got when we
(08:55):
started the show five minutes ago. You have bats in
your boys. Now all I hear is treble. Ain't no trouble.
Listen track, listen to you can't even pronounce it trouble.
I got your shaken, I got you sick. I called
you out and you ran. You tuck your tail, and
you're right. All you ever do three hundred dollars, Robert,
(09:15):
just because I put twenty dollars on some chicken wings,
just because calling you out, trouble woman, You're lucky I
ain't in the studio too. Just because you yelled don't
mean you're right. You've been yelling for all during the
football season that all you've been is wrong. You were
wrong about Lamar Jackson. You were wrong about Yes, you
were wrong Jackson you would. Oh, he's another one. I'm
(09:37):
buying into what he is. You bought into a more
Jack Jackson. You and I all right, you will also
in lockstep on Lamar. You've been you be with the phone.
You've been wrong on all the Dak Prescott. You will
your chest great yesterday. I'm not jumping you would be
on your chests on on on Dak Prescott when they
were three and no against nobody. All I told you
(09:58):
was he didn't beat anybody. Parker, answer me this who
leads the NFL and QBR it's about wins and loss?
Who leads that? I brought that up with Aaron Rodgers QBR.
We've ever seen its gonna be fathering one this yield.
I don't talk about the past. We talked about br R.
(10:20):
Look out, QBR. What you taught you about to come
on here and give me my come up? It's you
had another thing coming son. I'm ready for everything you
got we already I don't even know. We had the
free show meeting with Lee the Laughter producer since since
you can't even we not even don't even need to
(10:41):
introduce the crew. Dj tyshon on the ones and twos,
and Lee was on the phone. You played nice. Oh,
everything was all peach Chris. The rams you called it
the rams don't look good? Why do we do that
for a segment? Oh we can talk baseball, Alex. You
know Carlos read with the dancing. Let's talk. You were
(11:02):
all nice, and you caught me off guard. That's the
first thing out of your mouth. It was a great
weekend for me and a horrible weekend for Chris. Bruce. Sorry,
you thought you had a brother cornered, but I came
out so whinging. Yes, right, I came out like Ali
(11:23):
you with George Foreman. We don't get it on because
we don't get alone. You know it. You could be
as loud as you will, boy, And you know, all
the odd couple listeners, they all know that Chris Brussard
as a prisoner of the moment, and Chris Brussard has
been beating his chest about about playing mopping up bad
(11:46):
teams and all of that. They all know when they
calling today, Chris, they're going to call you out as well.
All right, We're gonna see they will call you all
you have been wrong about NFL football week since I'm
just telling you early that Prescott just lost to the Jets.
The Jets. He just lost to the Jets. Are your
(12:07):
Jets gonna make the playoffs? How would how did Dak
Prescott lose to the Jets a windless team? He as
Jets gonna make the playoffs? Who huh? Who said that?
I think there was only one person in America that
said the Jets were gonna make the Cowboys and they
should pay Dak Prescott and war they should pay him off,
(12:28):
get his money. We're throwing this out eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. And here's a question. What's the question.
Who's been more incredible about the NFL season? That's Rob Parker?
Risk Parker full of it? Because Rob Parker came out
bumping his gums, beating his chest, telling everybody, come here,
(12:53):
I'm gonna beat Chris. I'm gonna get Chris. And then
I say, put your money where your mouth is, ip
up to the plate. I've told you we can have
a best some georgan that's do we want to stick
with some easy, scrawny old chicken wing. I like to
eat the question you always wanted to escape Clause eight
(13:14):
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Don't throw it on
Dak's six weeks in Don't don't, don't ask the callers
to make some gram when they were when they were
three weeks, when they were three year old, was all
about Dak Prescott. He also told us Tiger. He also
told us that if that pepper Patrick Patrick Mahomes was
(13:36):
going to the Hall of Fame, he was Michael Jordans.
Can you believe that he was Michael Michael Jordan, Michael Jordan.
You know how close he is to Michael Jordan. The
bessie would ever be to Michael Jordan's is to wear
a pair of Michael Jordan winning. He ain't no Michael Jordan.
Jordan's second years. He ain't no Michael Jordan something. They
should have lost three in a row. If the Lions
(13:57):
could have not fumbled a hundred yards, it would have
could have the bottom line, is there no feelings? All right?
A seven seven ninety nine On Fox, it's Rob Parker,
a paper tiger. Shouldn't he bet meet Jordan's if he
really believes all that ying Yang, all that riga Morow,
all that blizz a Blase, would he bet me some Jordans?
(14:22):
You're turned away in a couple Fox Sports Radio Walmsy
Walmsy Woo. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Brussar then Rob Parker weekdays at
seven pm Eastern, four pm Pacific. That's right, it is
a magic city. Monday. I forgot all that with all
the huffing and puffing. That's big Daddy, It's the Eye
(14:44):

(15:08):
Calmed down over there, yard right, I'm I'm you're the
one jumping bad. I'm good. It's all just shocking, just
supposed to be in my corner, at least according to
the pre show I gave you. I gave you compliments
of the pre show. Didn't Yeah, not not in the
show though. Behind the scenes, Let's see what the callers
(15:32):
think eight seven, seven ninety nine on five. Let's go,
because you know people want to get at it. Mark
and Sacramento. You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What you got, Mark, what's going on? Jealous man? That
was about five minutes of host on host crime Man,
make pretty good? I think that pretty is easy for
(15:56):
this kid, even through Sluff's going through receivers out trying
to get guys in and out. This dudes, Rob, I'm
sorry because I get it. He got a couple of
more five touchdown games in his bag that's coming. This
dude keep throwing and throwing and throwing, and I just
think that he's special good. They could get touchdowns, but
(16:20):
it don't mean that they're going to be all thrown
or he might run them in or whatever. And here's
the other part. I looked at it. I looked at it.
Hear me out, Mark, were six games in, he has fourteen.
If you double that, that's twenty eight, then he would
have to average at least three touchdowns a game in
each of his last four games to get the just
to get to forty. It ain't It ain't as easy
(16:43):
as you make it out there. Mark, here's the thing
for all that stuff. Rob just said he actually agrees
with you. If he didn't, he bet me to Jordan's
is simple. No, that's not it. You always have game
mark and my right did not win that other bat
be an escape. We didn't have the right, We didn't
have the right understanding. I don't everybody else agreed with
(17:07):
me that when you make a bet like that is
you're comparing me to Las Vegas. I don't one individual anybody.
I'm not an institution. James in Dallas, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What you got, James?
How you was happening? Man? I'm all right now. I'm
a huge showboys saying. And I went to the game
yesterday and then you guys you couldn't tell me nothing
(17:29):
before the game. Much us was poked out. Now this
is Deck's fourth year, and I gotta be honest, I'm
a Cowboys fan. Chris, I just don't see what you're saying.
It's just some things just he I think it's going
to take him more years to get to where an
elite status. Where now I think you can win with him,
(17:49):
but he won't. He won't be elite. And two, I
think you don't deserve credit for that ranch prediction, because
I remember after week three and everybody called you out
on it. You started, you didn't run eighty and saying okay, okay, okay,
make the playoffs. Remember that he did back down, don't.
I don't remember that. I do know, I remember, No,
I do, But hey, you make your picks. You gotta
(18:11):
stick with him. No, you got Kansas City in the
foot in the super Bowl. They don't look like that
right now, with the way the horrible it's worse than that,
worse than a year ago. I James, I never said,
and Rob you back me up. First of all, I
never said he was elite. I said he was in
route to be an elite. And I also was adamant.
(18:32):
He's not Aaron Rodgers, he's not Tom Brady, He's I
wasn't saying he's gonna be Patrick Mahomes. One of these
guys is gonna light it up. Statistically. I'm just saying
he's a winner, and he because he'll win, he will
be considered an elite guy at some point. But he's
in route, and the route is rocky. That's all right,
(18:52):
all right. I don't I don't see it. After four years,
how's he leading the league in QBR. Don't the stop
must not be good because the last three weeks take
into consideration all of the injuries, interceptions, drop passes, interceptions
that shouldn't have been interceptions because they weren't your for
all that, Marty in Kentucky, you're in the odd couple
(19:13):
of Fox Sports Radio. Hey, happy magic Monday fellas. Thank you, Marty.
Well just sitting out there in some grilling with my
little boys. This show really caught my ear today. I agree.
I believe with um, with the guys that they've established
with Nicole Hardman, even Pringle getting in there, and and
(19:35):
he'll coming back, and Watkins eventually coming back, and as
bad as the defense is, a lot of times they'll
be playing from behind. I think Patrick Mahomes is very
likely to get those shorty touchdowns. But that being said, Chris,
after you welt on that earlier Jordan bed, I don't
know how you expect Robs making Jordan, thank you. Even
my son has something to say about that. Right, I'm
(19:56):
not gonna make it sit that again? What do you say?
That's right? Yeah, we got that, Marty, Risty, Rob send
you rack that. How big was the check mark. I
love that, Marty, Marty, what's your what's your son's name?
Supposed to be my game? My son's names River five years?
(20:21):
I love think that's Max and Georgia. We already know
we're gonna use that club. We got him, all right,
Thanks Marty, appreciate it. What about Kevin and Wisconsin. You're
on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Hey?
How you doing? Chris? How you doing? Rob Man? And
I want to start to show off by saying, uh, Rob,
(20:42):
you know your boys losing to Night right? My boys?
You not? What are you talking about? You know? I'm
not I'm not a Lions fan, right who I'm wondering
can you tell him? Because I'm not a Lions with
the Packers, I believe the Packers are gonna win the night. Okay,
thank you, thank you. But with that being said, just
a couple of things, Like I said, Now, I know, Chris,
you you have given credit to Aaron, but I do
(21:04):
be sensing that a little bit that hate coming from
you when he comes to Aaron Rodgers and your comparisons
with with Patrick Mahons. I do understand he is a
special player. The things that he could do. You see
Russell Wilson and Kydie murder you because they were baseball
players and we've seen Aaron Rodgers do it. Um. But
(21:25):
I'm in agreeance with Troy Aikman when you when when
you say when he starts to win some rings, then
I want to see the comparisons because there's a lot
talk what Mahomes, because when you say Jordans, I feel
like that gets thrown out too much. I mean you
(21:46):
you had the one guy who they called baby Jordan
when he came into basketball. I mean, where is this
getting out here in front of it? I get all
that I'm getting out in front of it. Here's the difference.
All the people that jumped on the RG three bandwagon,
the Colin Kaepernick bandwagon, all these other Lamar Jackson, you
(22:08):
never heard me jump on those bandwagons. Be Here's why
they were doing things that I didn't believe were sustainable.
They were running quarterbacks for the most part. I don't
think that's sustainable. Cam Newton same way, Mahomes is doing
things that I believe, I believe are sustainable, and I'm
getting out in front of it for like Jordan, for
(22:31):
Jordans thirty points was what twenty points was for other
All Stars. For Patrick Mahomes, three hundred and twenty yards
is what two hundred and seventy yards is for other
All Stars. This dude is a cut above and y'all
will see it down the line. Trust rack this trust
(22:52):
because we will play it. Microwave take baby there you y'all? Yes, sir, Hey,
schools it Mark from Florida. You're the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. Hey, Chris, Rob, how's it going man? Hey? Yeah, no,
Rob Man, Chris is right man that if you're gonna
(23:13):
make this bet, then Mahomes has to play the full season.
I mean, that's not how you make a bet. You
don't know. That's not man, that's not sports. No, it's not.
People don't play, rob People don't play full seasons. They
don't know, they don't talking about they don't always. If
(23:34):
they don't always, I'm even giving you one game, one
game break, I'm even giving not what I mean. But
if you're gonna bet on that he's gonna throw forty
like you're counting that, you're counting he's gonna get injured. No,
I'm not. I just told you what the breakdown is
I just told you what. The breakdown is great. I
appreciate it. It's he could be delusional. Jerryan Brown from
(23:55):
the Seahawks coming up, but first be sure to catch
live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and
Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific.
It is The Eye Couple coming you live from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen
percent a more on your car insurance with Geico. Go
to Geico dot com or call eight hundred nine four
seven Auto. The only hard parties figuring out which way
(24:19):
is easier. This guy was the star of the show
yesterday in Seattle's victory come from behind victory over the
Cleveland Browns wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. Jeron Brown Geron,
Welcome to the Eye Couple. Hey, what's going on? How
are you with you on? Man? Congratulations on the win
and the big game individually. Yesterday you had you had
(24:41):
only had eight catches in the first four games, no tds,
and then yesterday a big game, three catches, two touchdowns.
What enabled you to really break out yesterday and have
such a huge game? I think it was just opportunity.
You know, U targets you know that come few and
few and not many, but uh, you know, it was
(25:04):
just the opportunity. Caught the defense and the right right
kind of coverage and you know Russ made the made
the throw and yeah, I had to make a play man.
You guys are rolling. Uh you know last week the
Rams missed a field goal that could have beat you
at home, but it didn't didn't go right, and then
you come back with a comeback victory. Do you feel
(25:26):
like things are in place and you're getting kind of
some of the breaks as long as well as playing
well together. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. I mean, you
know that's football, you know, but I can't say that
pizza starting to come together. You know, it's always good
when that's as collectively played played well defense and you know,
(25:47):
special teams and offenses. It's all involved. We're all involved.
So yeah, we're definitely trying to keep the saying rolling.
Geron when you guys are down, I think it was
twenty to six. Um, what do you tell yourselves is
they're a gathering this Russell Wilson kind of gathered offense
together or the team or what was saying in the
locker room to you know, get everybody, look, this isn't over.
(26:08):
We can come back and beat this team, right, I mean,
you know, and it's crazy mention. Now, I don't even
recall that I was. I was at Tyler them Tyler
the other day. I don't even recall it. Then twenty
and six, I was just kind of like the mindset
of it, and you know, we had to kind of
dig ourselves out of that hole. But yeah, I think
it's just a matter of being poison, you know, just
(26:30):
not looking back and just kind of keep plugging away
and you know, eventually get a break and you know,
get a couple of scores going and get that momentum going.
How about how conscious of you, how conscious all the
Browns are you? And I mean from a standpoint, most
of the time, you're just doing your thing and you figure,
(26:50):
you know, if you if you do what you're supposed to,
your team will win. But the Browns came out with
a lot of bravado and that they were going to
go to the Super Bowl and all the fuss made
about them early on. Dude, as a player, when you
hear stuff like that, did you guys kind of think
about that at all or like, you know, like where
is this coming from? Uh? And and maybe want to
go a little extra, you know, and and and beating
(27:12):
them feels good because they talk so much smack before
the season started. Uh, I mean not really, to be honest. Uh,
It's just like any other game. Uh, you know, my
my mind's our mindset coming in was just get another win.
And uh, it was gonna be on the road. We
know it was gonna be tough. You know, guys they
were they were looking for a win too, So I
(27:33):
mean it's the same mindset from that aspect. But you
know that those guys gotta give give a credit to
us guys. They put up a good fight. Well but
real quick, Uh to follow up, what do you make
of that when when teams get so much press or
you know, like when it was all coming together and
they made the trade for O. B J and and
(27:53):
they went from being on national TV the mandatory once
a year to like four or five national game aims
and all that. Did you look at some of that
and go wow, like really Cleveland is all that? Yeah?
Yeah no, I mean they definitely got superstars over there
for sure, and uh yeah, yeah, yeah, you know they've
got the attention of the league. I got you could
(28:13):
say sort of, Um, you know, I know a lot
of those players on that side of the ball as well,
and coach as well. Um, so yeah, yeah, I guess
you could say that. Geron, you sound like you've been
to the Russell Wilson school of saying the right thing.
Let you say that. You you you're not biting on
any of the questions. Why get you to talk? Wow,
(28:38):
you're saying the right thing. You know. I didn't that. Man.
Some players might come out and say, yeah, the Browns
were talking all you know this stuff and uh, you
know Richard Sherman has said that in some others. But no,
that that's that's cool, man, do you um? Speaking of
Russell Wilson, he is I think right now he is
(28:58):
the MVP. My preseason pick was Pat Mahomes, but right
now I'd have to give it to Russell Wilson. Do
you think he's underrated? And people are finally this year
starting to see just how good this guy is? Um? Yeah,
you know I have the luxury of saying that every week, weekend,
and week out throughout practice. So man, a lot of stuff.
(29:19):
It really doesn't surprise me, um, but man, it's great
that he's getting, you know, some respect. He's definitely a
top TV in this league for sure, and you know
he's getting the well deserved respect. And as he said,
being the nb MBB talk, what's your what's more shocking
in your own division? That the forty nine ers are
(29:40):
five and old order that the Rams of three and three.
You know, I gotta be honest, I'm surprised that, you know,
the struggles with the Rams. I wouldn't even really say
the struggles, but just I gets a couple of losses
spector back, and you know it's a tough division, so
you know, you always gotta be fair for sure. You
(30:01):
got got a couple of tough stretches of games coming up,
so certainly ready for it. Jeron, I know you went
to Clemson and they are obviously still in the top four,
but there are a lot of pundits out there that
think they're only in the top four because of reputation,
because of winning it last year, that they really haven't
earned it yet this year they look they don't look
(30:23):
as good as I expected, especially at quarterback with Trevor Lawrence.
What do you see with this team, and how confident
are you that they can win and they will win
the national championship. Hey, I see a team that, you know,
the defending national champions I see a team that's still undefeated.
Um so yeah, I mean you had a chatter and
(30:45):
whatnot that they don't deserve this. I mean, you gotta
think that teams are playing I mean that's playing tough
teams and another week, year after year. I felt like
they always have to prove people wrong, and you know,
they get these big games and they still dominate and
still win. So hey, I guess it. I guess we'll
see it's some other teams looking good man. Yeah, it's
(31:07):
a little trepidation in your voice. No, no, hey, hey,
trust me, it's no no worries over here. It's usually
quiet around around Saturdays. I don't really hear so much
smash talk. So the last thing for me, when you
look at teams, you know how hard it is to
win on the road in the NFL. You know, usually
(31:28):
if you can play five hundred and then do well
at home, you're in good shape. You guys are three
and o and undefeated away from home. What does that
say about your team to be able to win, you know,
big games away from home. Yeah, I mean, I think
you guys come come together collectively as a team, and
you know, we know when we're going that type of environment,
you know, it's just us, it's that's against that's against Sam.
(31:50):
So I think that's that pretty much togetherness really becomes key.
And you know, we're trying to win games, to win
all of them. You know, we're trying to win them
all and put ourselves in the best position, you know,
further down the road. So every every each one of
these games count. They're important. You know, we put the
work in weekend and uh yeah, hopefully the results continue
(32:14):
to show. Jeron great stuff, man, congratulations again on the
big win and the big individual performance for yourself. Good
luck next week. Hey, I appreciate it. Thank y'all. All right, man,

(33:23):
the Nationals up two old and really trying to take
complete command of this series with the Cardinals. It's early
tide at zero right now, early in the game. But
what are your feelings? And I think it's over? I mean, uh,
it's not. It's not possible. It's not obviously with their pitching.
(33:44):
It's gonna be hard to come back on the Nationals. Right,
it's not over yet, I mean obviously. Uh, if the
Nationals are able to win and it's and it's they
were up three zoo and then Saint Louis has to
win all four, it puts them in a tougher space.
If it's three, oh, it's over all right. Well, the Yankees,
they were up there one time. I know, I know,
but I'm say I agree, very difficult to do because
(34:07):
your margin of era. But if they would have winned,
if if the Cardinals would have winn the night, it
would be real easy for them to get back into
the series. You know what I'm saying. Exactly, they could
get back into them in seven, and you had it
at seven. So so you you gotta always look at
it like this. If you picked Saint Louis in seven,
(34:28):
that means that you expected to Washington Nationals to win
three games at some point. So they got two of them,
do you know what I'm saying. I mean, that's the
way you really have to look at they took. They
took two of them in Saint Louis, right, I understand that,
but it's still I mean, this would be a huge comeback.
But they got their best guy on the mound, Flaherty, right,
and we'll see and Strasburg is uh is pitching um
(34:50):
for Washington. So I'm shocked that it's two. Oh obviously
that they won both games at Saint Louis. But you know, Chris,
I told you this. I had such a feeling about
the Nationals. I just I just did. I was talking
about it, even when we were talking about picking up
you know, Dodgers in them, you even had a feeling,
but you just couldn't pull a trigger. And I was like,
(35:10):
I just I'm gonna go that way. And I'm not
surprised because whenever you have pitching in the playoffs, pitching
stops good hitting. It just no. They look great right now,
and uh, I think they'll be if they get past
this uh Cardinals team. I don't think it's gonna be
the cakewalk that some people do. We'll get to a
little bit of that later, but I think the Nationals
(35:32):
will will be a worthy opponent if they can get
past Saint Louis last last night. It was a fantastic game.
Fantastic game, and of course Carlo's Krea ends it in
the eleventh with the walk off homer. And what's getting
a lot of attention rob was his celebration and I
(35:56):
loved it, you know he I mean, he you tell people.
I know the Qunia people jumped on him. But when
he did. Now, granted, his problem is the ball didn't
go out of the park when he celebrates, right, you can't.
You gotta run it out. You gotta make sure right.
But what he did it was nothing compared to what
(36:17):
Kreya did. I mean, he walked, he hopped, he put
his hand by his ear. It's all before it's out
of there, before the ball is out of the park.
And then he did the jump shot down the third
base line. I loved it. I thought it was great.
I'd love to see more of that in baseball. What
(36:39):
were your thoughts, mister tradition. Well, I don't have a
big issue with it, as long as if you want
to do all out of whatever. If and if somebody
wants to brush your back or let you know that
they didn't appreciate it, I'm fine. I'm not talking about
head hunting, Chris, I'm not talking about trying to hurt somebody.
I'm cool with it. That was a moment. Do you
(36:59):
remember when uh uh um Batista had the bat flip
in Toronto when he hit the big home run. Remember that.
I don't have a problem with that the moment. Was
there a retaliation, don't I don't think so. But but
he had a big bat flip. It was a great
moment in Toronto. And in this one to walk off,
they had to scuffle Chris to get one win at home.
(37:21):
They got shut out in Game one, right that they're struggling,
the Yankees are could have had a chance of taking
both games in Houston. And to have a walk off,
big crowd, the big moment, and you come through with it,
It's hard for me to argue with anybody who wants
to celebrate that that's big time. Well, I think you
(37:43):
have to be careful too. I mean, this is the postseason,
so putting a guy on base just because of his
celebration that could cost you. It can cost you. And
that's why I agree with you. Normally, normally you're not
trying to do that because you know, you you watch,
you watch. The difference between regular season baseball and playoff
(38:03):
baseball is the pitching. Like like like you're watching every pitch, Chris,
every pitcher's bag, every pitch pitch counts. So you can't
you really can't afford to hit a guy on purpose.
So and I'm and I'm with you, Like I said,
I loved it. It would be odd seeing stuff like that,
you know, during the regular season, right, And I don't
(38:24):
know that I'm not saying I wouldn't like it, because look,
we see it in the NFL. NFL they do it.
In fact, they don't even just wait for touchdowns, you know,
they do it on defensive turnovers and sacks and interceptions
and things like that. Basketball, you've obviously got guys, you know,
doing their their individual thing. I wouldn't mind it. It
(38:45):
would be odd, though, seeing that on a regular basis.
In baseball, who you got? You got? The Cardinals tonight
finally getting one. Yeah, I gotta stick with them. I mean,
you know, we made our picks and and they do
have something. I mean, this is not a cake quad
for the national stuff. Yeah. I think the Cardinals will

sixty eight on The Graham Rob. The Packers and the
Lions are just moments away from get it on. Who
you got in this game? I'm going with the Packers
at home against the Lions. I know everybody the buzzes.
The Lions have won the last four games against him. Uh,
I don't know. All the history is interesting. They won
(40:15):
the last four. No, but I don't know. You know
what I know, Aaron might have been heard or he
played at some of them. I don't know Chris to
say that they be the healthy Aaron Rodgers four straight times,
I doubt it, you know, knowing his history and what's
happened over the last couple of years. So I don't know. Uh,
But I in Green Bay four and one coming off
(40:37):
that Dallas, when this is like the game Aaron Rodgers
needs to bust out right where the sixth game mark
you would admit he had I mean he looked. Obviously,
it doesn't matter. They're four and one, and he's not
playing poorly, right, it's just what I'm saying, right, But
he could play better, right, he could play as it
had that now he had the four hundred some out
yard game, right, but he did against Dallas. Yeah, but
(40:59):
he only know the the game before that. He had
the one they lost to Philadelphia. He had two touchdowns, right,
and I think he had two to one. I don't remember.
He only had one, but he had four hundred and
twenty two yards. Yeah, but they need he needs a
three touchdown game, Chris three Aaron Rodgers. If he has
that and the offense seemed like it's coming together, then
(41:21):
you start to look at the team and you go,
they're five and one. You start looking at some of
the games that they've won, right, and you say, all right,
they won a couple of big road games, right, They'd
beat Chicago on the road, they'd beat Dallas on the road,
they won a couple of the big division games. That means, Chris,
they'll be three and oh in the NFC North, right, Lions,
Bears and Vikings. They will have won beating all three
(41:44):
of them. That's a great start, no doubt. I mean,
but I gotta be honest, I don't think even if
they lose tonight, I don't think anybody's saying they're not
for real. No, I know, because as you say, they've
already beaten some good teams. You still have Aaron Rodgers.
Defense is much improved, You're running game much improved. But yeah,
if they win tonight, you know they're they're in the
(42:06):
discussion as the best team in the conference. A lot
of people now thinking San Francisco, some people think in Seattle,
New Orleans. But the impressive right there. Absolutely five and one.
And the one game they lost was to the Eagles,
and you know, close game, but uh Eagles would desperate,
came in and won a big game in Green Bay.
(42:27):
I thought, speaking of that, the Eagles, we're gonna, you know,
build on that yesterday, Chris, and now they have it.
And look and the Vikings are good too, though. I mean, no,
I know they're not a bad team. And Kirk Cousins
big win for him and all of the criticism and
and you know, we know his record. I don't know
it exactly, but it's horrible against good teams and the
(42:50):
other one this was a big win for him. The
other part two of that is it's hard for the
Eagles to go and win two games at the NFC
North on the road, do you know what I mean?
Like that ain't easy because you would have beaten the
Packers and the Vikings both on the road. Yeah. I mean,
but let's face it, at least, right it's so far
and it's still early. Okay, it's still very early, and
(43:13):
we we make grand proclamations and stuff, but wisdom is
kind of slow it down. But right now, the Eagles
just don't look like they're that good of a football team.
Same with Dallas. I mean, both of these teams. This
division looks like, well, the worst in football would be
the AFC North. But it's right there. It's pretty bad, right,
(43:36):
It looks bad, right, I mean, the Giants in the
in the Redskins are an absolute and absolute joke. And
right now Philadelphia and the Cowboys look mediocre, that's all
they are. And and this game coming up for them
that'll be interesting to see. So yep, that's about That's
a that's a big game. When here's the other thing, though,
(43:58):
robe what if Detroit wins, then I think people have
to start looking at the Lions differently. Well, yeah, I
mean they had they almost beat the Chiefs, right, had
Patrick Mahomes with no touchdown, but couldn't seal the deal
on that. They gave away that game to the Cardinals.
They would control Chris what was at twenty four to
six and they left the Cardinals time in the open
(44:20):
early their biggest yeah, limits of the season, it really is.
That's the one you should have won. That was Kyler
Murray's first game. He really couldn't even move the ball
if you were remember watching some of that, right, and
then they gave away a tie, and it's a big game.
If they would have win, that would be five, that
would be five in a row. They would beat a
(44:41):
good Aaron Rodgers team. Right, it would be huge for
the It'd be huge, it'd be huge. Now let me
let's get to let's move to baseball. Rob And as
I was watching that game last night again, terrific game, Astros.
And here's how good it was. Because my dad his
first love was baseball, right you always say that, Yeah, yeah,
(45:02):
his first love is baseball. Grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio,
right with the Reds. But he hasn't he's turned off
on baseball. Now, he hasn't watched baseball in years, I
might say decades, certainly a decade, like just hasn't been
into it, right, And I was like, look, I'm watching
(45:23):
this game tonight, you know, And and he watched it
with me, and he loved it. He was into it
really good. Yeah, I mean because it was you know,
it's just something in the regular season games are good too,
but I know about the postseason, right, it's just every pitch,
like you said, every pitch, every at bat counts. You
(45:44):
do watch the game totally different, no doubt. And every
pitch that's like close, that's called the ball. You go,
oh my god, ye or you know what I mean,
like every like you don't normally watch a baseball game
with that kind of intensity. Um, so that that is
a different part. But this is what I want to
throw at you, I thought. And I was surprised that
(46:07):
more announcers or the announcers last night, the broadcasters didn't.
They didn't make a big deal out of it at all.
I don't know. And if some people are, I mean,
I've heard a few things today about it. But and
it was early. Who knows what would have ended up happening,
but I thought it may have been. It reminded I.
To me, it felt like analytics run a muck. And
(46:30):
specifically what I'm talking about is Aaron Boone taking out
Chad Green. Right, No, I got it. Green was mowing
what inn he was the fourth inning? He had two
scoreless innigs, spotless? Right, only you threw twenty six pitches,
(46:53):
only five were balls? Right? Look great? And then Boone
decides to go with outa Vina oh Adam Altavino And
it wasn't a lefty right henything. They're both right handers right,
and Autavino first pitch home run the springer and ties
it at two two, And to me, rob I was
(47:16):
just like why why? Now? The question is was that
on a boon because I'm guessing he probably they may
have decided they they It even came out that it
was decided after the fourth inning that Attavino was gonna
get in and pitch the springer. But I'm with you.
(47:36):
Here's here's this is about having a feel for a game,
and this is I'm not against the numbers. And Audavino
is Chris tough against right handers and he's had a
great year for the Yankee. I get all that, but
sometimes you gotta look at a guy. He's coming out
with one out, nobody on. If he gives up a hit,
(47:59):
he coming out. But when a guy is dealing, I
don't understand why you're making moves to take people out
who are pitching. Well, I understand it's all everybody's like
lined up for all these different scenarios and circumstances. But
sometimes you gotta have a gut feeling and say he's pitching, great,
(48:22):
let's let him roll. If a guy gets on, you
take him out, right, that's it. One guy, you know,
you walk somebody you saw with Verlander, right, Verlander went
into They let him pitch, and then as soon as
he walks somebody with two outs, what they do They
pulled him right out. Yeah, because you lost focused control. Right,
once you do that, you're out. So they were all
(48:44):
those Here was another thing though, Remember when they took
out a Vino out he had just struck out. Some
struck out the batter, right, yes, Like I'm sorry, and
I get the number. Some of these number they don't
even have a big sam size though, like Atavino was
like Springer was old for four against him but that's
(49:06):
four at bats. Usually they think you need what twenty
five to thirty plate appearances against a guy to really
get a good feel for where he's at. Yeah, but
they don't look at it like that. Yeah, they look
at it. That's two. That's and the numbers aren't it's
not enough. I agree some of them are small. When
they say, well, he's one for six, I don't think
(49:27):
you really have an advantage, you know what I mean
on one for six. But but yeah, I think that's
where the game loses something. We saw it. The Dodgers
have done it. Do you remember what was that Rich
Hill a couple of years ago was pitching two years ago,
was pitching a no hitter, I think, or pitching great,
and they took him out the game in the fifth
(49:47):
inning because because they were worried that the next time
around they're gonna start hitting him because that's what the
numbers show you instead of can you actually let somebody
get it hit first before you decide that he should
come out? I just don't. I don't get it that.
That's the part. Now, now here's the other flip side, Chris,
and I think part of it was that Tanaka pitched
(50:09):
so well in Game one, you remember he rushed the bullpen.
What did Tanaka pitch six innings, six right shut out?
He looked great, So then the bullpen got rested. So
now if you're, uh, Aaron Boone, do you overmanage because
you know I got a full rested bullpen? Do you definitely?
That's that's what do you see what I'm saying? Yeah,
(50:31):
if if Tanaka didn't pitch that well and maybe burned
through a couple of guys, maybe he wouldn't be so
quick to pull up to pull guys out. I agree,
But I just I mean green, like you said, he
was looking great. He's throwing more than twenty six pitches,
you know, several times this year. So it's not like
you know he can't do that. I just it and
(50:53):
it bit him. I mean again, there was a lot
of game left, so who knows what would have happened.
But that, to me, that was just another example of
analytics run them up. The question is do you think
it was even Boone's decision? Yeah? You think, but but
you don't. I don't know from the standpoint of how
much how much stuff is predetermined? Do you know what
(51:14):
I mean? I really because Chris, they script out some
of these games. We saw it with the Dodgers in
that they told, uh right, Dave Roberts told everybody Kershaw
is the second man in without knowing how the game's
playing out, without look without knowing like the circumstance. How
in the world could you have said that Kershaw was
coming in no matter what. That's that's where baseball's change.
(51:37):
And I think that's what people are frustrated is. I
get you have a game plan, but you must be
able to alter the game plan when you see what's
happening in lifetime, right, I would think Rob that privately
players are frustrated. I wouldn't doubt it. I mean, how
can you not be You're a gamer. You want to
be out there and you're you're mowing them down. You
(51:59):
got best stuff, and they're taking you out for no
real reason. Doesn't make sense. Nah. Nah. So I thought,
I'm surprised I didn't hear more about that. But to me,
it was a big thing. It was a big deal,
and uh you know, obviously it didn't work out for
the Yankees last night. But I do think Rob, it's interesting.
(52:22):
I mean, I think the I feel like the Yankees
are in control. Obviously they have home field advantage. And
the fact that you faced Verlander and he didn't beat you, right,
you know what I mean? I agree with you, even
though even though they won that game, Verlander didn't be
right right, And I think that you're right. If you're
(52:43):
the Yankees, you feel good about that that that you
you know, for them, you were up in that game
against Verlander. He didn't dominate you. He didn't have twelve strikeouts,
he didn't you know, he didn't know hit you or
one hit you or anything. You know what I'm saying.
You got the damage off him in a tight game.
So if you're the Yankees, you do have to feel confident. Yeah,
(53:04):
I mean, obviously the Astros have cold. You know, They're
lineup is so strong. You're pitching lineup, so you can't
certainly can't write them out. You can't feel too comfortable
if you're the Yankees. But you got after the first
two the Yankees have out have outplayed them for sure.
Now they got the home field. Let's throw this out
to the callers, Rob, is this the world series? You
(53:26):
know a lot of people think that Houston Yankee series
is the World Series because it's featuring the two best
teams in baseball, right right, right, all right. The ALCS

We are joined by the World Series champion himself, the
Fox Sports MLB analyst AJ Prazinski. AJ, how you doing
what's up? Oh man, I'm doing better than the Cardinals offenses.
I know that. I know they Hey, they can't get
anything going. I know they've been seeing nothing but the
good pictures, right, good stuff, I mean the good stuff,
(54:58):
the best stuff. It doesn't matter who they've seen, they
just don't get any hiss right right? Well, Aj, speaking
of pictures, Rob and I were just talking about this
the last segment, and I was saying something I thought
last night, and I didn't hear a ton of people
make a big deal out of it, but to me,
it was a big deal. I thought it was kind
of analytics run a muck when Chad when Aaron Boone
(55:18):
took Chad Green out after he had mowed through the
Astros line up in two six straight out right, and
they went with Adam Autavino just you know, just because
I thought and obviously Springer hit the home run off
of him in the first pitch. What did you think
(55:39):
of that? Were you okay with that move in hindsight?
Or did you think it was it was just a
move made that really didn't need to be made. Well,
it was made because he got him out the night before.
That's why it was made. If Atavino doesn't get him
out the night before, and if you remember the game before,
he hits the ball into the warning track in center field,
and then what was the exact same pitch, and um,
(56:02):
the center field for the Yankees catches it. I think
it was Gardner or whoever was in center field catches
it the night before, and then the next night it
does the same exact man and he hits it over
the over the wall. So, um, if he hits the
home run the night before, Ottovieno doesn't face him last night,
it's Chad Green out there again facing them. So is
(56:22):
that overking it? Do you think? I mean, it's the
way baseball is. I mean, the Yankees took out their starter,
but two and two thirds all night, two and a
thirty given up what one run or whatever it was,
But I mean he was he was winning two to
one at the time, and um, they had a full
bullpen because Tanaka pitch so great in Game one. So
what do you do? You got the weapons, you might
(56:43):
as well use them. Um, And I don't know. I'm
a firm believer that your starters go as long as
you can. I mean, this is a contrast in teams
because the Astros are built on starting pitching, kind of
like the Race Series that we did for fox Um.
The Rays are built on their bullpen. The Astros are
built on their starters. The Yankees starters are good, not great,
(57:04):
but the Astros starters are great. And tomorrow night they
get a full taste of Garrett Cole. They got Verlander
last night and they had a chance to win. They
did it, and then tomorrow night they get Garrett Cole,
who has lost in the twenty four starts. How about
this when you look at this series that the feel
of it is different when the last time they played
two years ago, Astros won all four games and Houston
(57:25):
Yankees won all three in New York. But this feels
a little different because of the tnock of the way
that they manhandled. The Astrols have struggled offensively. They got
to win, no doubt about a dramatic fashion, three to two.
But what's up with the with the Astrol's offense. They've
both struggled. Well, they faced good pitching and we said
(57:46):
this and when we talked about we did the Race Series,
like I said, face nine every guy in their lineup.
They went games without facing the same pitcher twice in
the game, and that's hard. You get into a rhythm
when you face the guys the second, third time. That's
why teams are so to let a guy, a starter
go through the third time, because you get a rhythm.
You see what he's trying to how he's trying to
attack you, you see his arm slot, you see his pitches,
(58:08):
you see you build it bats off guys. And when
the Rays and not even the Inkees do it where
they say, hey, all right, will you face this guy
the first time? Well, guess what, You're facing a different
guy at the second time. It throws a little bit differently.
He's gonna attack you a little bit differently. Third time
you're getting a different guy. Four time, you're getting a
different guy. It just makes it really really hard as
a hitter. And you know, the Astros starters are so
(58:28):
great they can allow them to go more than one
time two times through. But if you don't have great starters.
It's the way baseball has becomeing hey it works, or teams, hey,
j do you I've heard people say that they think
that's baseball in the future, where your starter may go
two innings and then I don't like it. You call
me old, you can call me a dinosaur, or whatever
it is. I still firmly believe that the team with
(58:51):
the best starting pitching in every series is usually gonna win. Yes,
bullpens are very, very important, don't get me wrong. The
team also with the best bullpen usually but if your
starters go longer than the other team starters, that saves
your bullpen for later on in the game and later
on and in the series. So you just you're saving
bullets and that it's been proven over how many every
(59:13):
years baseball has been played that the best team starting
pitching not only usually wins in the regular season, but
also wins in the postseason. How about in the Washington
How surprised were you that they were able to go
there and totally shut down the Cardinals win two games
on the road, which is huge because basically now Saint
Louis would have to win four out of four out
(59:36):
of five in order to win this series, which is
a tough task when you're talking about it. But how
shocked were you at Washington, coming off the high of
the Dodgers series, is able to do what they've been
able to do well again, they're starting pitching is ridiculous.
Annibal Sanchez almost through a no hitter. Oh, by the way,
then you get shuts Or Oh, and tonight, well you
get Steven Strassburg. Oh. Game four, then you get Patrick Corban,
(59:57):
who's no slouch himself. He's pretty dark and good. Also.
Am I surprised, No, but I'm surprised that Cardinals haven't
hit at all. I mean five hits and two and
almost two and a third game, so they have five
hits and one guy has two off the bench. You
go almost you almost get no hit the first game,
you get four hits the second game. I know you're
facing great pitching, but there's got to be an adjustment
(01:00:18):
made somewhere. Try to go the other way, try to
look for something different. I mean, I'm not in their dugout,
I'm not in their meetings, but I know the pitching
is great for the Nationals, and I know that it's
beending really well, really good. But man, make an adjustment.
I'm just waiting for someone to try and lay an
a bund down. Colton Long did it in Game one.
He laid a bunt on. Try putting some pressure on
these guys instead of I mean, you go up there
(01:00:39):
and just take strike one, strike two, you're O two
and then you punch out. It's no pressure. These are
easy innings for the Nationals. The eye couple would joined
by a World Series champion. AJ Prazinski, heyj, I want
to go back today. Yankees Astros game and Carlo's career
is celebration at the end of the game after the
walk off homer. I loved it. I thought it was classic.
(01:01:00):
I mean, but you you rarely see that in baseball,
and when you do see anything close, the opposing team
gets upset. How do you did you have a problem
with it? Did you like it? And then also how
do you think the Yankees? You know, is that something
that would upset them or you think they just let
it go? Oh, you let it go. It's the postseason.
You had a walk off home run in the postseason,
(01:01:22):
and do whatever you want if you want to do
cartwheels around the bases, I mean, go ahead, the game's over.
You want you got a big hit in a big moment.
I mean the postseason is different. Even in the regular season,
if you'd a walk off home run, the game's over,
everyone's excited. I don't believe in you're showing people up. Yes,
there are times where people do show other guys up,
and that's that's usually when people get mad. But you know,
if you're down six runs, you hit a home running,
(01:01:43):
you do a career did? Yeah, guys are gonna get
mad because then you're definitely show them up. Or if
you're up six runs in doing it. But in a
playoff game, in a game that important to the Houston
Astros at home he hits a walk off home run, Yeah,
do whatever you want. I mean, I don't understand when
people hit walk off home why they get matt And
you've seen some examples where guys carried over to the
next spring training. Who cares? Who cares? How about the game?
(01:02:06):
Move on? How about this last thing? Uh? Some people
are saying that the astral Yankee Series is basically the
World Series is the two best teams that Do you
buy into that or not? I mean, have you watched
the way the Nationals have played? Oh? I'm with you.
I mean, I mean, does anyone want to go in
and face Scherzer, Strassburg, Corban, Annabel Sanchez? I mean, does
(01:02:30):
anybody really want to if they get through the Cardinals,
does anybody want to face those guys. I mean, I
know I don't because I face those guys and I
know how good all those guys are. So mean. Yeah,
it might be because people say, oh, the Astors the Yankees.
If the Nationals don't get off to the start. They
got off too. They win that division easily, and they're
probably the favorites in the National League. But the way
they played down the stretch, they're gonna be it. They're
(01:02:51):
already proving to be a tough out. They beat the
big bad Dodgers. Now they're beating it. They're up to
o on the Cardinals, and if they get to the
World Series, I don't think anyone wants to play them.
J great stuff, man, We appreciate it. And and uh
we thank you for the knowledge. Man, No problem, man,
I told you guys lost time. It's happy you are
talking baseball. That's the eye couple. We do that. The
(01:03:18):
ALCS resumes Tuesday as the Yankees hosts the Astros from
Yankee Stadium three thirty pm Eastern Time. Right here on
FS one, we got Joe Buck and John Schmoltz on
the call, with reporting from Ken ros Rosenthal and time
for Ducci. Let's throw it out, Rob to the callers.
You you mentioned it to aj Uh. A lot of
(01:03:39):
people think this is the World Series, the Astros and
the Yankees. What do you guys think out there eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. You'll turn the way in.
Do you think the ALCS is in fact the World Series?
You're turning away in with the Eye Couple, But first
(01:04:00):
be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific. It is the ID Couple coming you
live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It is
easy to say fifteen percent of more on your car
insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot com or call
eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The only hard part
(01:04:23):
is figuring out which way is easier. Rob. We threw
it out to the callers. Is this the World Series?
Is this like the Western Conference in the NBA versus
the Eastern con That's right, we used to see that
for sure. Right, We got a couple of people want
to chime in. Let's start with Andre in Massachusetts. You're
on the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, thanks,
(01:04:46):
thanks for taking my call. Are the Ashes and the Yankees.
All it is like the Western Conference, one of those
teams will advance to the World Series, But like the
Western Conference in the NBA, there's no guarantee they're gonna
win the World Series. Okay, because again in basketball time,
Philadelphia can be anybody, and in baseball terms, with the
Washington National shows they can beat either. Those two teams
have to knocking off the one hundred and sixteen winner,
(01:05:09):
the LA Dodgers. I want to touch from your point
about analytics, because coming from the Cave, coming from Massachusetts
where you're dealing with this, we're dealing with this issue here.
I don't understand in all of these sports, Baseball, basketball, football,
why these number crunchers have this overarching influence and you
have people who have decades of experience, okay, playing the
(01:05:31):
game in all the difference, and you just lose all
feel and momentum. It's wrong. I don't care what some
Lake harve. You know, you have to have a feel
and understand momentum. If you have a team on the ropes,
as you said, Chris, you know Yankees, the guy's cooking,
you know, he's hell, he's ready to go, you know,
firing on all cylinders. Okay, let's can spend. Let's your
(01:05:54):
thoroughbred run okay. And then you know it's just a
basic eyecast here in Boston, you know, on terms of
what the vick don Browski Gott they're arguing boot the
pictures coach because of this warring over analytics. Out of control. Andre, No,
there's no doubt about it. Analytics and Chris and I
talked about it all the time. Thanks for calling about
(01:06:14):
why why does baseball follow Billy bead when they can't
win Jack in Oakland? Right? And he's right. Look, it's
not just baseball anymore. I mean, the biggest culprit. But
basketball is heavy. I mean football is not as bad
as the other two. But you know that's the reason
why the running backs aren't you know, are you got
(01:06:37):
running back by committee so many places and they're passing
so much and going forward on fourth, which is actually
a good thing. I think. Let me say this though,
answer his question, Rob, I think a lot of it,
and I'm talking to some people around the NBA. A
lot of it is that at least this is the feeling.
Remember the owners of these teams are guys who were
great in business. Right, in most cases, they made their
(01:06:59):
money in business. And they're in business. You're used to
somebody coming down and sitting down and explaining everything to
you in terms you can understand it, having a power
point presentation, giving you all the numbers, all the proof,
all the data that this is why you need to
go this way right. And in sports, these you know,
(01:07:22):
and it's a stereotype, but with a lot of guys,
it's true. These nerds, these guys in a lot of
cases that didn't play ball, they can go to that
owner and they show him the owner that know that
much about the game. But these guys give them a
power point, they give them explanations. They got all the
data about how you know, Springer has hit green you
(01:07:44):
know hard in the path. You know, I'm just throwing
that out there, but all the data to back up
their analytics. And to these owners who don't have a
feel for the game either or really know the game
like a player would, to them, it looks good and
the player can't go in there and do all that.
Now X players going in there and you know he's
(01:08:05):
talking about field and and and you know, the locker
room and you know, just normal stuff. And I think
that's a part of why these analytics guys kind of
wow these owners and get these jobs. I agree. I
think there's a big part of that stuff that people
can understand, you know what I mean, with the numbers
and with charts and all that stuff. But as an owner,
(01:08:27):
I still would take a look, we do have one
more guy, want to Chime and Chris, But I I'm
with you. I think that's what they sell these owners,
But I would sell them that a lot of these
teams don't win. And you know, people say, well, as
the Red Sox use analytics, they won the World Series.
They also had the highest payroll in baseball, They had
talent on their team. It wasn't just so had a
good mix of right, It wasn't just managing as well,
(01:08:51):
going against analytics, keeping guys in against certain guys that
normally they should come out. So I'm with you on that.
What about Rick and fort Lauderdale. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. We'll tell my brothers how you're doing,
good man, not much listen? Uh? Is this a heavyweight matchup? Certainly?
Is it the marquee matchup certainly, But I'm with Andre.
(01:09:12):
Anything could happen in the World Series. And I myself,
I've been waiting fifty five years to see my two franchises,
two of the Marquis franchises in baseball face each other,
and that's the Cardinals and the Yankees. Nineteen sixty four
was the last time two thousand foot one out of way.
And we know what happened with the Bolton comeback. But
but I want to pick you back on one, Andre,
(01:09:33):
He said, I think analytics is killing baseball. I think
you guys were right. I think Chris you were one
hundred percent boon over managed last night. He had no
business taking out chat pitching grain Okay, and and and
that bootpen is not wasn't as worsted as you think.
He used the boopend the night before. The only one
that was rested was Chapman. But this is the thing
(01:09:55):
about Boone. And I know he's only his second year,
but I think he's gonna catch that his book. Man.
I think he overworked them, and and and I just
you know again, I think this analytic stuff is running basebay.
And I also think like that with the hard hit
ball that never left the end field. The field said home.
I thought that was a mistake. I think, yeah. But
(01:10:16):
the only thing about that, and I'll say this, Rick,
you gotta grab the ball with your bare hand and
make a throw. There's a lot of stuff that has
to go on in order for you to be able
to make that play happen. But that was It's a
good that wasn't even close, you know. I mean he wasn't.
I hear you, Rob, but it wasn't even do understand it.
(01:10:39):
But it's still about making a play, you know what
I mean, Chris, you have I mean the guy was
in the right place. He just happened to be the shortstop,
you know, happened to be right there in the right place.
But I mean it was he got nailed. No, he was.
He was out. But I do understand why you send him.
Do you see what I'm saying. You have to you
(01:11:00):
have to grab the ball, make a throw. There's a
chance it could it could short hop to catch it.
Like you have to make the guy throw you out sometimes.
And that's why I think that they made the choice
to send the guy with two outs. I saw the
view from the third base coach and him looking at
the situation thinking is he going to be able to
grab that ball and make an accurate throw? And he did.
(01:11:22):
He made a great throw. All right. The Odd Couple
and one of the biggest radio game shows in the nation.
In fact, the biggest is next is sourced to Say
I Couple Chris and Rob Fox Sports Radio. Be sure

It's the Discover cash back Match. What are you waiting for?
Learn more? Discover dot com slash cash back match. All right,
it's time for sources say check check check. Sources say
these two have been covering sports for nearly three decades. Apiece.
I will say this, let's put the big Jay journalists
(01:12:28):
to the test. Its sources say that is right. Everybody
out there knows what time it is. It is by
far the hottest and the fastest radio show in the country.
Growing like wildfire. You yeah, I like that wildfire, as
my grandfather used to say, Growing like bad grass. Oh yeah,
we're like bad grass. Boy. You can never get that
(01:12:48):
to go away. But has many know this is sources
say where we put the two hundred and seventy five
years of m depth coverage of crispers Starting Rob Parker
to the test two seventy I think that's just Rob
Parker years really, so as of lately, it wasn't called
the crisprus Start Invitational. As we all know, Rob Parker
(01:13:08):
has been slinking his way back. Yes, so let's see
if Crisprusar can hold the belts and push So let's see,
you guys. My sources are telling me in hindsight of
the Green Bay game going on right now, that Mason
Crosby alluded to the fact that if the Packers win
the Super Bowl this year, Aaron Rodgers might propose to
his longtime girlfriend Danni ka Patrick, saying it, I quote,
(01:13:31):
if Rogers gets that ring this season, I imagine she'll
be getting one too. Rob are My source is good
I'm gonna say that's false. I just can't believe it's
be based on based on him winning a Super Bowl
or whatever his life. Rob, I'm I'm I'm gonna say
that's false. Are they definitely together still? That's when my
(01:13:52):
sources are telling me I thought they might have broken up.
But I might be wrong, but I'm gonna say false too.
You sit on a throne of flies? Yeah, I made
that up. Yeah. I just couldn't see. I couldn't see
that being the deciding factor. I don't think she'd be
cool with that, right, come on? But not her, sources
say Fox Sports Radio. This is the odd couple. And
thanks to the NBA now requiring teams to re measure
(01:14:15):
their players without their shoes on, Taco Fall is now
standing at seven foot five after being seven to seven,
and Dwight Howard is now listed at six to nine
instead of six to eleven. Chris Or My source is
good m They did do that, but I'm not sure
those measures. I'm gonna say true though it sounds like
(01:14:38):
it's true, but they're they're there. Yeah, I'll say that
that's true. Bro Kevin Durant was six ten? Is that
what they said? He was. Now he went from listed
at six nine to being really six ten. Really, so
he yeah, he was under playing how would his shoes
(01:14:59):
make him he was No, he was under playing it
because he didn't want to be viewed as like a
seven foot Okay, I got you, Yeah, sources say Fox
Sports Radio, this is the odd couple. So, guys, my
sources are telling me that Kenley Jansen demanded a trade,
walking into the front office saying that if Dave Roberts
is staying as the manager of the Dodgers, I want
(01:15:19):
out Robert. My source is good. Totally false. No way, no,
how did he say that? Yeah, no, that's false. That
was just two hours. Hey, Michael Jordan, my sources say,
Michael Jordan is coming back. That's true. It was Chicago Bulls.
(01:15:40):
It is for nothing, Washington. Wow. Fox Sports Radio sources
are telling me, guys that a couple unnamed Dolphins player
admitted to tanking the final second point conversion because against
the Redskins, their effort was truly just to remain the
worst team in the league. Christ And my source is good.
(01:16:03):
I think that's false. False. I'm winning right now. I
thought I had the one everybody's got the same score
right now, when did When did I get one cheating? No?
(01:16:24):
We did not. The first one I got right, that
was a Green Bay one. You guys both said it
was false. That was right. We both got that right.
Oh he agree? Oh, Chris agreed? Cheated? Okay, Fox Sports Radio.
It seems to be the hard hitting sources of Christmas,
starting Ron Parker. So, guys, when La Native rapper Ice
Cube was asked when the Dodgers choked in the playoffs,
(01:16:45):
how he felt, Cube responded that they need to get
some black baseball players. Robert so is good? Give me
that again. So it says that when La Native rapper
Ice Cube was asked why the Dodgers choked in the playoffs,
Cube responded by, they need to get some black baseball players.
Rob Or, my source is good. I'm gonna say that's true.
(01:17:08):
I think that's true too. Oh man, I can't get think.
How did you see that either? Really? All right, let's
try to get one more with you guys. Fox Sports
Radio sources say, odd, couple, don't don't don't You guys
got to pick differently here? Dang it? All right, First, so,
the Eagles released linebacker Zach Brown following the lost in Minnesota,
(01:17:31):
and when asked about it, Viking Scube kirk Cousin responded saying,
Zach Brown, you mean Zach clown Chris are my source
is good? False? False. All right, guys, my sources are
telling me three seconds we're going to break are My
(01:17:53):
source is good. That's true. Fox Sports Radio has the

to ever lace them up, Rod Woodson at the bottom
of the hour. You definitely do not want to miss that,
and we will stick with the football now, Rob you
you you want an update I know on the game,
tell us about the NLCS between the Nationals and the Cardinals. Yes,
it's for nothing. Top of the force. Strasburg has only
(01:18:59):
allowed one uh to just gave up his second hit,
so the Cardinals need to get back into the game.
It's for nothing. Is getting away from him, Chris still
early only to stop it. It's still it's over. It's
only for nothing. It's the fourth They have two hits,
so they've got what like six hits in two and
a half games. It's been. It's been lean Now all
(01:19:20):
of a sudden, their bats are gonna wake up. It's been.
It's been. It's been leaned. But we did see teams
can bust out takes one inning sometimes I'm not ready
to say that, not in the fourth inning. If we're
in the eighth inning or something, Chris, then maybe I might.
I might. Boy, I'm just looking at the whole nature
of the series, not just this game. And I get it.
(01:19:40):
I get it. It has been feast. It's been all famine.
There has been no feast. It's been all famine. You
picked Yankees over Nationals in the World Yeah, yeah, I'll
tell you what, the Nationals. That ALCS is not the
World Series. There's no way because we know, we all,
I mean it's cliche now, starting pitching wins, and they've
(01:20:04):
got two of the best starting pitchers and then Sanchez
you know, and uh Corbin. So it's not over. That's
that's they're gonna have a chance to win it if
they get get to the series. Yeah, no, there's no
doubt about it. I don't think that it's a foregone conclusion.
But so far, the Nationals are who we thought they were.
(01:20:24):
You know, they were scary, got scary opponent. If they
got into the playoffs, they you know what I mean,
the whole second half. No, they did the whole second
When you think about where they came from, what was
it nineteen and thirty one? Ye, Dave Martinez was on
the ropes. It looks like he was gonna be fired
as manager. Uh you know, the losing Bryce Harper. It
(01:20:45):
looked bad. It looked bleak yea. And here they are
two wins away from getting to the all the way
to the World Series. So that's an update there. All right, Rob,
Let's go to the NFL. Interesting development now, as you know,
everybody knows the Carolina Panthers since Cam Newton went down
after Week two they were oh and two. Kyle Allen,
(01:21:07):
an undrafted free agent, steps in and they're four and
old with Alan as the quarterback. And not only are
they four and old, but Alan's numbers are great. Sixty
six percent completion rate just below that, nine hundred and
one yards, seven touchdowns, zero interceptions. His quarterback rating is
(01:21:28):
one oh six point six, that's fifth in the NFL.
These are the guys he's behind, Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes,
Kirk Cousins, and Deshaun Watson. So Kyle Allen is playing well.
They're not just winning, he's not just managing. He's actually
making some plays. And now news came out today that
(01:21:50):
Cam Newton's foot injury, the Liszt Frank fracture, has healed
well and he is expected to return to practice after
the team's by which is this week, so he will
be available, it looks like for their next game. And
now the question everybody's asking is what do you do?
(01:22:12):
Do you start Newton or do you go with Alan.
I'm gonna give you my answer, Rob, I'm sticking with
Kyle Alan, and I think you're a sugarnut and crazy.
Why because Cam Newton Tom Brady It's not that if
you're gonna do that, then you better than you might
as well get rid You should, you should get rid
(01:22:33):
of you well, but you should rely ain't no ain't
no way, Chris, because if the kid that you're soul
gung hold on has a bad game or two, people
will be screaming for him to get to take him out.
All I'm saying is, and you do it. He's playing well,
nobody's knocking nap him. When you're when you go out
and you lose your gig over an injury and you
get hurt and you're your franchise quarterback and you've done
(01:22:55):
the stuff that you've done and put up the numbers,
They're not going to do it that way. That's not
what you do to somebody who's been that guy for
you in the face of your franchise. That's all I'm
not saying. Eli Manny was that guy in the face
of the film. What you're talking about After a lot
of years though, but Cam has more wear and tear.
I get it. He's a lot younger, he's thirty years old,
(01:23:17):
but he has been beaten up. Yeah, but you're talking
about you know, you can't you can't look at it
from the ELI standpoint that I'm just saying, Like Cam,
you want to go back to twenty fifteen when he
led him to the super Bowl, that was four years ago.
Use you make it like it was twenty years ago.
But it's not all his fault. He's been beat up,
but he hasn't played well, but he's healthy. All I'm
(01:23:39):
saying is, once a guy's healthy, a guy that staff
at the beginning of the season, a guy of that statue,
All I'm saying is I would be surprised. I'm telling you,
I would be shocked if he doesn't play, because if
he doesn't played, then he'll probably he'll never play again.
In UH with the Panthers, if you're going down, let
me ask you. Let's say you start, because you might
(01:24:02):
be right. I'm just saying if I were running the Panthers,
I would stick with Kyle. And I mean my wish
would be that Cam was still out a little bit
longer so I could get more of a look at Alan.
But you might be right. They may go at that route,
but I'm saying I would stick with Alan. I mean,
this is professional football. If you get beat out, you
(01:24:24):
get beat out. I'm sorry, it doesn't do It doesn't
happen like that, not for franchise quarterbacks who he didn't
lose his job because he because he wasn't playing well
he got injured. But maybe they don't do it that way.
But they did it to Drew Bledsoe. That's not the
way you did. They do it to Drew. It's totally different.
Go look at how old he was different old back
(01:24:45):
in the middle. No, he wasn't. He was about where
Newton is right now. I don't. I don't think so,
I don't. I don't remember. I don't remember else. I
don't remember well he went where did he go after
the Buffalo and played a year or year and a hay,
he didn't play that long after that, but he would
know twenty two thousand and one was it? I don't know.
(01:25:06):
It was two thousand and one. He was twenty nine
years old. He was younger than cam. He went to
Buffalo and played three years in Buffalo one year, made
the Pro Bowl the very next year, and then he
played two years in Dallas. It's the same exact situation.
I don't I'm not saying Kyle Allen. Don't get me wrong.
I'm not saying the time, Brady, I'm just I'm just
I'm just saying, don't. Don't. You can't tell me it
(01:25:28):
hasn't happened. I would I wouldn't. I wouldn't do that
in that situation with Cam compared to I'll be stunned.
I would be one hundred percent stunned if he's not
starting once he's healthy and he's your quarterback. We even
saw that with Jamis Winston and he hadn't even won anything.
Didn't they put him back in because they didn't want
to give up right away? No, they didn't want to
(01:25:49):
give up Patrick. Yeah, they put him back. They had
a game he threw like three interceptions in the first half. Yeah,
but he had begin and they went back to wide though,
but he had had a great Yeah. I goes out
there and what's the bad in the first half? They're
gonna go to Newton? But why if you he just
did all this other good stuff, why would you just
(01:26:10):
because because worried about feeling. No, what I'm talking about,
because one half he had one bad half. So that's
the reason. Yeah, that's what they did. I'm just saying
that's what they did. That that happened last year, and
so I'm just saying like this is perfect, this is
big boy football. I just don't trying to get to
(01:26:31):
the playoffs. In fact, Ron Rivera is trying to save
his job. He can't be worried about who's making the
most money, who's you know, so called franchise quarterback. He's
gotta go with what's working, what's working right now. And
again to me, if Kyle, if if Cam comes back
and I start Kyle Allen and he starts struggling, you
(01:26:54):
know badly. And look, you know, whether it's a game,
a half, two games, whatever, you can always go to
Cam Newton. You can always go back to him. Or
if Cam goes out there and plays horrible, don't you
better believe I'm not leaving Cam in for the rest
of the season. Would you do that? What if Cam
plays poorly and they lose? Would you stick with him
(01:27:16):
just because he's Cam Newton? He's your franchise quarterback until
I give up on him, until I'm with this, until
I'm ready to give up. No, it doesn't work like that.
Why it worked that way in New England? No best
coaching history, Bill Belichick. It didn't work like that for
the Giants that we've been talking about. Okay, we've been
talking about the Giant for four or five years. That elia,
(01:27:41):
but I'm way, But I'm trying to tell you what's
happened and why teams don't do that? Teams? What teams?
I just brought to you the biggest example you can
have the best coach of the era, if not all time,
he did it all right? Well, I don't know the
exact circumstances. I think that didn't he get didn't he
get hurt? Who was a great viewed as a top flight,
(01:28:03):
But didn't he get hurt or something that was a losert?
He got hurt and Tom Brady stepped in. The team
was struggling. Tom one touchdown in the postseason in that year.
It wasn't like he lit it up or something. No,
but they were the team went took off, the team
was winning, and so they stuck with Brady and the
rest was history. Didn't when when the Panthers say that
(01:28:29):
they're done with him, let me know, because I I
don't believe it's gonna have half some inside information and
I know what the Panthers are gonna do. I'm just
telling you what I would do. They may do what
you said, but I'm just saying you can't sit here
and tell me it's a hard and fast rule because
it happened to Drew Bledsoe, who was viewed as the
same stature as Cam Newton. I wouldn't look if it
(01:28:50):
was Aaron Rodgers. Of course, I'm not benching him, or
or or somebody that's Sean Watson or somebody else playing
at the top of their game. But Cam Newton's not there.
I'm sorry, and I'm not worried about what he did
four years ago, unless you I totally disagree. I just
don't think because of what he did four years because
(01:29:10):
he's a franchise quarterback who lost his job on getting hurt.
I'm just telling of his deal, all right. They probably
let him go, so then they should just release him.
There would keep no I'm robbed. I'm paying you to
do a job. If you get beat out, you get
beat out, they can release him, paying you sit on
the bench, collect your money, and then at the end
(01:29:32):
of the year you can go somewhere else. Well, they
don't have to, just they don't have to play by
these rules. Worried about guys feelings. I'm paying you twenty
one million dollars a year, if not more, I just
wouldn't do it. I'm just telling you, I wouldn't do it,
no matter what success he's had. We've seen this, We've
seen people about We've even somebody's feeling it's not about that.
(01:29:53):
It's not about that. It's that we've seen people have
streaks and and uh stretches. They play unbelievable. It doesn't
mean that they could sustain it. It doesn't mean that
they've arrived because they've had three or four good games.
We saw. This is what the problem is. It is
three or four sample sized games is not enough for
(01:30:14):
me to scrap Cam Newton. It's just not Chris. That's
I'm not saying Kyle Allen has arrived. I'm not saying, oh,
we know we got our next quarterback. I'm not saying
that at all. All I'm saying a big part of
it is that Cam Newton has not played well. Way
he lost like eight straight games. That's the It's it's
(01:30:38):
like Teddy Bridgewater. They're winning New Orleans. I'm not thinking
twice about keeping him in all because Drew Brees was
playing well and they were winning. That's the difference. Cam
wasn't playing well. Yeah, but I'm not so sure if
he wasn't playing well because if he was not fully healthy,
I'm not fully healthy Again. Last last year he wasn't
(01:31:01):
healthy and we saw be healthy. Now. I don't know
where he is. But if enough fully healthy, if he's
able to play, I expect him to be If you
might be right, I'm just telling you what I would do,
and I'm not. Don't paint it like I'm saying Kyle
Allen is all that. I don't know that, but I'm
just saying the team is winning and our job is
(01:31:22):
to win football games. That's where the brown That's where
the Giant's got in trouble. So he's worried about the
should then should the Browns go to their second quarterback
because ka Mayfield? Why not? He's struggling, he's playing poorly.
That's all right, that's all right. He's young. No, it's
a different situation. It's a different you're trying to win
(01:31:42):
games games. First of all, there's no proof his backup
is gonna win games. Don't even try to twist this, seriously,
that's ridiculous. A seven seven ninety nine on fix A

Kyle Allen? You're turned away? An eye couple Fox Sports Radio.

Cam Newton right back into starting lineup? If you're the
Carolina Panthers, what do you guys? Nak all right, Mike
in New York, You're on the eye couple Sports Radio.
What you got, Mike? What's up you guys? I'm great,
I'm great, all right. Now I'm torn because I feel
(01:33:09):
like this is just a classic case of the black
quarterback not getting his just do because when you look
at some of the other situations around the league, guys
like Philip Rivers, who has been average his whole career.
He hasn't been average state, he hasn't been average keeping, Chris,
Philip Rivers an average, He's not a playoff He's a
(01:33:29):
Hall of Fame regular season quarterback. What are you talking about, Chris?
Can I speak? Can I speak to speak the truth?
Speaking through Cam Newton took his team to a Super
Bowl and was an MVP four years ago. Four years ago,
Philip Rivers made the playoffs once in the last five years.
(01:33:50):
Philip Rivers is not an average quarterback. Cam Newton was
in the playoffs two years ago, Chris, they were in
eleven of five. And what about Matthews Stafford If he
doesn't make the playoffs, get rid of him. What Matthew
Stafford didn't get hurt in the backup, come in and
(01:34:10):
start winning right away? Anything, Chris. The point is, why
does the black quarterback has to be raised up to
this high standing. If you don't do this, we gotta
get rid of you. And they're doing that to Jamis Winston.
Keep your real It ain't the black quarterback no more.
Almost half the teams in the league start black quarterbacks.
I mean, when did it come on? Pat Mahomes. They
(01:34:32):
traded Alex Smith to start Pat Mahomes. They dragged Jamis
Winston's gotten how many chances despite all the interceptions he's throwing? Why?
And again, that was my point is that Jackson, they
bet they traded Joe Flacco to go with La March.
Stop it with the black quarterback. Is that they didn't.
Unless you're giving up on somebody, and they didn't give
(01:34:53):
up on That's why I brought up Jameis Winston is
that they decided that they there there no matter what
Fitzpatrick doing, fitz magic or whatever, that they weren't done
with him. And the same thing with Kim Knew. And
that's why I think Kim was going to play, but
they didn't treat. First of all, was old no. But
they were winning now I know, but they were, yeah,
(01:35:14):
But then they and they left him in and then
he threw like three interceptions in the first half against Pittsburgh.
I believe it was, but they also went to Jamis.
But I'm just saying, unless you're really going to give
up on Kim, and I don't believe that's the case. Well,
I think they. I mean, he's got this last year
guarantee money. This could be his last year there. But
Max and Georgia, you're on the OD couple of Fox
(01:35:35):
Sports Radio. What's up? Max? Hey, what's up guys? Ro
I appreciate the invite for Wings in Atlanta. Let me
know about that. Will definitely do that. Having said that,
I gotta I gotta be honest. I'm leading Moore with
Chris today in that I want to agree with you
because you're my guy, But I gotta be honest. When
I look at the numbers, they're very comparable. I think Cam,
with his injury habits, is something to be concerned about.
(01:35:57):
I also wanted to say, I think the factors that
decide this issue with the new ownership, they have little
ties and loyalty with Cam thus far um. That being said,
the move going forward could be easier than other teams
franchises with a different relationship. Look at Tom Brady and others.
That also being said, I think Cam could benefit from resting,
getting truly healthy, getting his mind right, having a fresh
(01:36:17):
start with a new team, rather than trying to come
back with little results. That could kind of put a
damn fer one Hunters on his value. And simply put,
I just think from the beginning, Alan has just looked
better in North Turner's offense. Cam has been struggling with
that offense in the last few years. They try to
make him a pocket quarterback, He's not. It's just been
difficult for him, and I think he's got to move
on from that, either that offense or that franchise. And well,
(01:36:40):
I mean, and I agree with him Rob and that
I think Cam would be better served just sitting out.
I just don't believe he's coming ba get fully healthy.
If he if he's clear to play, I expect him
to play that. That's going to be my response. Untold,
(01:37:01):
they show me that they have the Cojonas to do that. Yeah,
I'm not quarterback. You might be right. My argument is not,
I don't believe that's benching. My argument is that they
should stick with Alan. But you might be right. I'm not.
You could be right on that Drew Brill in Atlanta.
You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's happening?
(01:37:23):
Ain't what's going on? What's up? Hey, man, I ain't
gonna lie. I really don't like Cam like that because
you know, every time he comes to Atlanta to the
little the Little Poundball League, he always had this kind
of like attitude about him. But I think he deserved
that chance if he can come back to be one
hundred percent. But I mean, like like Chris said, I
(01:37:46):
don't think he will be one hundred percent, but if
he wants to come back to one hundred percent, I
stayed with him because when he one hundred percent healthy
or at least on the high nineties, I mean, the
dude worn't magic, you know what I'm saying. Oh, he's had,
he's had, He's had a good career. I mean, so
it all just depends on where he is and what
(01:38:08):
they feel like. I mean, I think if if they
really believe in and Kyle Allen and they think he's
the next Cats, me out and all that, then they'll
pull the plug on him and tell Cam to sit there.
I just I've seen quarterbacks who have accomplished a lot
who have played poorly. Uh, and they still stick with him.
And that's what the NFL. That's what I've seen more
(01:38:30):
Chris than than than the other way. That's what I
was worked swimmingly. But but I'm just saying, you don't
see that that often. Uh, Rob and Reno, you're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Rob? Hey?
I was doing guys, what's up? Man? Hey? I don't, Rob,
I don't. I don't really agree with you on that.
(01:38:51):
Like the NFL is a what can you do for
me now? League? If that was that was the case,
let me Rob, let me say this. If that was
the case, I would have been out of a job
five years. No, he but you didn't let me finish though,
in all positions except for the quarterback, Like if they wait,
they wait around for the quarterback longer than any other positions.
(01:39:12):
But you running back, you start doing fumbles, you're gonna
be on the bench. You know. It's a it's a
it's a what are you gonna do for me now? League?
But Kyle Allen has shown that he can run the Panthers.
The team likes playing with Kyle Ellen. I've read up
on it. Kyle Allen's legit and Kim is not playing
(01:39:32):
good football. The last game Cam played was yarbage. All right, Cam, Like,
like Max said, I think Cam should just sit out
and get fully healthy. I mean, I'm sure he wants
to get back. He's probably full as his team and
all that, but I think he needs to just because
I don't again, I don't think he's gonna come back
(01:39:53):
fully healthy. But all right, it's The I Couple eight
seven se ninety nine on Fix. Thanks for weighing in.
We will be joined by the Hall of Famer Rod
Woodson next, but first be sure to catch live editions

The only hard parties figuring out which way is easier.
He's the Hall of Famer defensive back f S one
NFL analysts our brother Roy Woodson. What's up man? What's up?
(01:40:39):
My brothers from another mother, no doubt. How are you man,
I'm doing good, man. I called the game for Westwood one,
the Steelers and the Chargers. That man, I'll tell you
what I didn't know. The Steelers moved the organization out
to California. Man, was that crazy? It was nuts, man.
I mean, I'm looking out there, you know. It was
so bad. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the
(01:41:03):
stadium started playing the home team. That's the Steelers, right
like the gade like when they when they started playing it,
I was like, wait, are we in Pittsburgh? That is
absolutely I see I see palm trees, so I know
it's not Pittsburgh or sure. Sounds like how demoralizing is
(01:41:24):
that ride for the home team? I mean, that's got
to be terrible. Listen, this is what this one needs
to happen. A billionaire needs a bad d the Chargers
and take them back down to San Diego. Man, where
they belong. It's just I mean, they just it's not
a good mixed form. I mean, every time they play
at home, it's the others team away game, but it's
(01:41:47):
like a home team. It's like a home game for them.
They don't really have a stadium. They're like a wandering
football team in a National Football League without a real
home because there nobody's going to accept them in LA.
I mean the Rams, even the Rams, I mean, it
looked like it was San Francisco yesterday. There were a
lot of forty nine offense too. But you gotta remember
(01:42:08):
there had been there was no football team in LA
for twenty years, so a lot of people grabbed other
teams to be fans of, you know what I mean.
So it's gonna be a seller. It's gonna take some
time for people to buy. Even though the Rams were
originally here, Rod, you know what I'm saying. People didn't
have a team for a long time. Yeah, but you
know they the Rams at least were here. You know
(01:42:30):
what I'm saying. The churches were never here. They really
don't belong in LA. I would hope a billionaire somebody
would a lot of money, buys a team and builds
the stadium back down the same diag gonna take them down.
I agree. I think that'd be best everything. The league
would be happy. Rob. What'd you make of the Cowboys
losing to the windless Jets offense again in the first half?
(01:42:53):
Just awful Dak Prescott. I know they made it close
at the end to make people think it was better
than it was, but I just they started out as
gangbusters against terrible teams. In the last three weeks, they
just have not played up the park. I mean, you know,
a three game losing street. Um. I mean, they just didn't.
(01:43:15):
They are who they are, you know, I think we
all we all want the old school teams to play
well because the league is better when they're playing well.
And so I think we wanted to think the Cowboys
are a lot better than what they were, and now
that they've played a little bit better talent and not
even the Jets. Before the Jets they played better talent,
(01:43:35):
and they they got exposed and even the Jets took
advantage of them. I mean, I thought this defense was
way better than they than they've played the last three weeks,
and they haven't played to their capabilities. You know, I
always thought Dak was a two hundred and twenty five
yard two and fifty yard past yer uh, even though
he was thrown for more for the first couple of games.
(01:43:56):
I always thought that's who he is to the core.
But I'm just that the defense has not played the
way they're capable of playing because they have too much
challenge to deep for the side Rod Cam Newton is
going to be back practicing after this bye week. I
think they should stick with Kyle Allen. I actually think
Cam should stay out for a while and just get
(01:44:17):
one hundred percent healthy. But do you stay hurt, right?
I mean, no, not hurt, but just get get it.
I don't think he's gonna be one hundred percent. He'll
be able to play. But the bottom line is this,
what do you think they should do? They probably will
go back to Cam, but I think they should stick
with Allen for the time being. What do you think, man? Listen? Okay,
(01:44:37):
Cam is one two. He's completing fifty six percent of
his passes. Kyle Allen is four and old. He's completing
sixty five, almost sixty six percent of his passes. He's
got a seven point four yard per catch. Cam only
has six point four yard per catch. What would you
do as a head coach? I'm sticking with Rivera's got
(01:44:57):
to make the play right. He's coaching for his job. Man.
If I'm listen, I think you stick with the young kid. Listen,
you have to say you gotta tell Cam, hey, I
appreciate everything's done. You know he got his balling, you
know you got his relevant again. But the young kid
has played extremely well. The defense has picked up their
(01:45:18):
played because of him, and there's not a lot of
turnal was happening. They're moving the ball down the field.
They're getting Chris McCaffrey. He's a real deal. Yeah, he's
been the stud. I already know he's been the stud,
but I don't but I last game though, I know that.
But I'm saying he doesn't get a lot of credit
because I think he doesn't get the credit because he's
(01:45:39):
a white running back. You know what I'm saying. I
think that's one he might be the since Craig James
is John Riggins, Craig James. I think he's better than James.
Remember Craig James. But who's the other guy played for
the Browns. Who was the guy for the Browns? Payton
Hillis he had about a ten games. He had a
cup of coffee in the sweet roll. Remember that. They
(01:45:59):
thought he was going to be the big back. But
McCaffrey's he's a he's a dual threat player. Uh, he
can make plays in space, they have players around this
young quarterback, the defense is playing good. If I'm the
head coach, I'm taking the guy who's completing sixty sixty
five percent of the passes and he's four notes as
he started. I agree. Yeah, I don't see that happen.
(01:46:23):
And unless you're releasing Cam and saying he's not your guy,
I've seen other quarterbacks struggle even more Rod, and they
always give those guys, the face of the franchise, those
quarterbacks more time. Unless you're moving away from him, unless
you really believe that that guy is your next guy.
You don't know, what's a small sample size. I think
(01:46:43):
we know who Cam is, you know, and he did
he did win an MVP and did go to Super
years ago. Absolutely, but he did. I mean, you could
say four years ago, Chris, but he did it. It's
not like he never did anything in the league. Saying
ELI won Super Bowls. Yeah, but they stuck with Elisa.
Let's say that they stuck with him for five years
(01:47:04):
after thinkingly mistakingly and they didn't have an answer either.
But go ahead, go ahead, Rob, you got a question.
I mean, you know, I mean, you're you're right. Then,
the sense that he did perform for Carolina, and that's
why I said, you're telling hey, thank you, you did
your job. We've compensated you. Well, I just think it's
time to move on, you know. I just Cam is
not going to be a prolific passer, even though his
(01:47:27):
completion percentage went up with North Coming in last year.
Cam is cam is, you know, and not saying that.
I just I think he's played well. I think he
developed into a better player at the quarterback position. But
right now, you know, you don't get rid of can
to this year. Right now, Kyle was just playing that
much better. How about Jason Garrett? What do you do
(01:47:49):
if they lose to the Eagles next week and then
they have to buy Is that when you just is
Jason the Garrett a head coach, He's been the head
coach for ten years, and he's he's a guy assists
on the sideline that has a headset on and he
doesn't say anything, but he clasps his hands. What is
going on? I know that they like him because they
(01:48:09):
can dictate in Boston around but but Rod, this is
he's now how many guys who have won the division
two out of the last three years, doesn't have a
contract for next year, right, didn't get an extension off
of that. That tells you a lot, doesn't it. I
think I think his job is on the line. I
think that you know, the way the team has been
(01:48:32):
very inconsistent under him, um, you know, and a head
coach job, and it's not to be the offensive coordinators,
not to be the defense cordnera of especially team coach,
but it is to get the fifty three men on
your roster to do uncommon deeds. And they've been He's
been at the best. He's been very consistent to get
his guy to play at the top level on a
(01:48:53):
consistent basis. Tap talent. They got a talent across the board,
running back, I think, the quarterback, the receiving corps. On
the defensive side, they have talent. On the offensive line,
they're underperforming and at the end when they underperformed, the
head coach has to take the blame. RD what is
going on with Kansas City? We know the defense is horrible.
(01:49:14):
I want your cat to whether they can win a
Super Bowl. I thought it was Jordan's defense, But give me,
give me a take on when can they win the
Super Bowl with this defense? And give me a take
on my homes. Have they figured him out to some
degree or or what do you think? Well? I think
I think the problem right now is that they still
can't establish or running game on a good system basis,
(01:49:34):
so that puts the young player my homes and trying
to make these dramatic throws. You know, I'm just not
a fan. It's like when you watch them, they're always
taking shots down the field, and then they're not methodically
working the way down the field. It's like, it has
to be a forty yard shot, it has to be
a fifty yard shot, it has to be a thirty
five yard shot down the field. They don't. It's not
(01:49:57):
a fifteen, it's not a five. They always take those
big shots, and they don't make big plays in the game.
They lose and they get behind. And I think also
I think Andy, and I love Andy. I think he's
a great coach. I just think sometimes he gets so
caught up and throwing the football that he gets that
he needs to establish the running game, and they haven't.
They've been very inconsistent to do that this year, which
(01:50:20):
is putting more pressure on the young quarterback and that
often the line is not living up to the bill
because right now he's a little hobble, and since he's
a little hobble, you can see they're not protecting him
when he's when he's healthy, he can get away from
some of those some of those rushes, so it doesn't
look as bad. But since he's been hobbled these last
two weeks, he's getting hit and pressured quite a bit,
(01:50:42):
and you know, so they got to find a way
to overcome that. Now the defense has to get better. Uh,
just too many, you know, the front. The front is smallish,
so they're getting kind of bullied around him and man
handle up front, and people are running the football against them,
which makes the defense the defensive backs come up a
(01:51:03):
little bit too soon, and then they get ran by
by the second or by the receiving corps. So I
think it's a work in progress. They're still a good
football team. There's a lot of football left, but they
got to find a running game and that defense has
to be able to stop the run. All right, he's
the great wide Woodson. Yea. The knowledge is always brother
(01:51:23):
All right, brothers, I'll talk to you all right later.

the I Couple Chris and Robe wrapping up another three
hours of heated debate and discussion. Wow, give us an
update on the game? Game right baseball? It is six nothing? Wow?
Six nothing? Ready to admit it's over. I mean, while
(01:52:07):
it's the sixth inning now, Chris, earlier it was the
fourth inning. All I'm saying is, uh, if they win
this game, obviously it's gonna be take four in a row.
In your your margin of error is very small. So
Nationals have been unbelievable. They're pitching, I mean, it should
be shutting out the Cardinals in this spot. They are totally.
It's just this was a scary part that in a series,
(01:52:29):
if they're pitching his right, Chris, they're tough to beat,
very tough to be And in the NFL, Detroit and
Green Bay in a really good game. Detroit's up thirteen
to ten and a half. It was thirteen nothing. Packers
got the last ten points. Uh, and uh, we'll get
(01:52:51):
a good second game. Yeah, it'll be a good second half. Yea. Uh.
The Rams they have lost what three straight now and
maybe you know we I remember when they beat the
Browns twenty to thirteen, and my take was, old, nice
game by the Browns. You know, Browns are getting it together.
(01:53:12):
Maybe it was just that the Rams weren't that good.
Now they did beat the Saints twenty seven to nine,
the Rams, and they beat the Panthers thirty to twenty
seven with cam. But they have looked bad. I mean,
they got demolished by Tampa Bay, gave up fifty five
touch points, made Jameis Winston looked like a Hall of Famer.
(01:53:34):
They barely lost the Seattle. They should have won that game.
That was the one that the kicker missed. Now they
had a good chance. Yeah, they had a chance to
win that one. That was the one that really hurt,
that one because they fought back. If you remember in
that game, yep, and they got in position to kick
up a makeable fuel goal, right, not like an eighty yarder,
(01:53:54):
and he was one of the most reliable kickers in
the and he missed it. He missed it. Yeah, and yesterday,
I mean it was all San Francisco twenty to seven
in La Jared Goff. This is a line you do
not see very often in today's NFL. ROB thirteen for
twenty four That's that's what it is. But seventy eight
(01:54:16):
yards passed. Wow, His QBR was one point one. You
should have won the typo at one point one. And
so what do you look? I think a big part
of it was Tid Gurley was out and they you know,
they ran twenty two times for one hundred and nine yards.
(01:54:37):
You can do a lot worse than that. But I've
always felt like Gurley was the key to that team.
I'm going back a year or two ago when the
offense was really special. I felt like Gurley was the key,
kind of like Ezekiel Elliott in Dallas. You know, Gurley
was a little more you know, caught passes as well,
(01:54:58):
a lot of passes as well, but he was the
engine that made the offense go. And since he hasn't
been there, especially since they're not getting a ton of
production out of the other guys, uh like C. J.
Anderson was giving them, Jared Goff has just not looked
the same and not looked like a great quarterback. And
you gotta remember last year, Chris, I could be off
(01:55:19):
by a slaughter soul, but I think they had the
fifth best offense right at one point in the history
of the NBA, not liking the seasons in the NFL
and the NFL history. That's how probably that's how good
their defense was. I mean, the offense was, but I
guess we'll have to see what's going on here because
they were out of sorts. It's not good. Well, these
(01:55:41):
are the the you know, I predicted they wouldn't make
the playoffs, and uh, you know, I'm giving them a shot.
Obviously they looked good earlier in the year. But this
was why without girly being girly, I thought that their
offense could struggle. Um and and the thing is, yeah,
it's golf, but you also have to look at have
(01:56:03):
have people figured out McVeigh to some degree. Well that
after he was undressed by Bill Belichick super Bowl, Chris,
people look and say, wait a minute, they did this that,
you know, like we always talk about people getting tape
on you, right, It's it's a real thing. Yep, no doubt,
no question about it. So the La Rams, uh they
(01:56:25):
got their work cut out for him, and that is
a heck of a division. They got the Falcons next.
That should be some some healing right there. They should
take care of the Falcons. And they got the Bengals. Well,
they got the Falcons, the Bengals and the Steelers next.
Those are three games you should be able to win
if they could be six and three in a hurry.
And the Falcons are awful, Chris, Yeah, they're really bad.
(01:56:48):
And the Bengals are it might be even worse. Steelers
getting it together a little bit, but we'll see, all right,
I couple, Christ and Rob. We'll see you tomorrow. Pays
